Thank you, Bill.
It is Tuesday, October 8th, 2024.
Here's what's happening today in America.
another hurricane back to six weeks one year later and father and son that's all coming up then bill's
going to be here with your message of the day but first hurricane milton has strengthened to a category five
already helene was a category four so that means milton has sustained winds over 180 miles per hour
and gusts over 200 miles per hour and this storm got stronger fast officially doubling its strength
in under 24 hours it's now the fourth strongest hurricane ever recorded by pressure on this side
of the world. According to a long-time Orlando meteorologist, he said this hurricane is nearing the
mathematical limit of what Earth's atmosphere over the ocean water can produce. Landfall is expected
to occur in Florida Wednesday night, somewhere near the Tampa Bay Area and then sweep across
the state. Back in 2019, the governor of Georgia signed a law passed by the state legislature
that banned abortions after fetal cardiac activity can be detected, which is about six weeks. There
are exceptions for rape or incest until 20 weeks of pregnancy. And the law says that an abortion
would be legal up to 20 weeks if the baby has defects to the point that doctors think the baby
would not survive outside of the womb. So there's all these exceptions. Well, it's gone back and forth
in the courts. And as of 5 o'clock last night, due to a Georgia Supreme Court ruling, the abortion
ban is back in effect. It's now been over one year since the October 7th terrorist attacks in
Israel, there are still 97 hostages and four Americans. Lots of vigils and protests across the country,
mostly on college campuses, including Columbia University, over 100 people that gathered to mourn
what happened over one year ago. Outside the gates of the campus, inside the gates of the campus,
about 250 protesters were marching, chanting free, free Palestine. The James family has made history.
LeBron and his son played in an NBA game together, first time father's son. First time father's
have ever played in an NBA game.
LeBron's son was drafted by the Lakers in the most recent draft.
LeBron, highest scoring NBA player of all time, said of his son for someone who didn't
have a dad growing up, to be able to have that influence on your kids and have influence
on your son, to be able to have moments with your son, and then ultimately to be able
to work with your son.
I think that's one of the greatest things that a father could ever hope for or wish for.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Tuesday, Donald Trump's rally Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania, was a triumph for him.
The media is avoiding tabulating the exact crowd, but attendance most likely topped 100,000 people in a state that the former president has to win.
This is surely a momentum builder as Trump's supporters are emerging from closets coast to coast,
it seems.
Political experts play down live events, but that might not be smart.
Donald Trump is a much bigger draw than Kamala Harris, and there's no question about it.
The real question is, why is that?
I don't know.
As for the vice president, she is countering with appearances on the view, Colbert, and
and 60 minutes. Once upon a time, 60 was feared by politicians, but those days are long gone.
Finally, Elon Musk is now driving the Trump train, and some believe this is a game changer.
From his perch on X, Mr. Musk, reaches many millions, but I can't assess what that might mean to actual votes.
I simply don't know.
I do know the progressives are angry about it and are attacking Elon Musk.
So that's where we are as the election enters the final four weeks.
It's Trump, I believe, up slightly.
But sorry for the cliche, anything could happen.
I'm Bill O'Reilly.
I approve the message by writing it.
you can reach me bill at bill o'reilly dot com bill at bill o'reilly dot com name in town if you
wish to opine all right there's a mail charles you were correct o'reilly that democrats are
buying votes by giving away free stuff and there's no limit on federal spending that's right
and it's going to bankrupt our country people don't care they just want uh eric on the message
board uh democrats continue to deceive the public by saying all the courts found no evidence of
fraud. This is in 2020. No, the court's never ruled on the merits of the case for technical
issues. The merits of the case never came forth to me. So I can tell you, I was looking for it
hard. Still don't have it. Ben Mitchell, Westchester, Pennsylvania. You talk about Zuckerberg
pumping in money to the 2020 election. How much is Elon Musk pumping in? I don't know. We'll
know when the charitable stuff comes out, how much money don't. That's the difference.
Zuckerberg targeted a dozen counties. Musk isn't doing that. He's just giving money
the political action committees. Where did money go in those counties, Ben?
Michelle Val, Chopwell, Alabama, Cropwell, Cropwell. Hey, Bill, you sold a clip of your
Q&A from Tuesday for premium members.
You said that J.D. Vance was wrong, accusing Kamala Harris of creating inflation.
Didn't, wasn't she the tie-breaking vote on the Inflation Reduction Act?
Yes, but that's not creating inflation.
She had to do that.
I mean, they would have fired her.
Harris had no power.
But she cheerleaded Bidenomics and the border collapse.
She cheerleaded it.
That's enough.
Stay in a fact zone.
In a moment, something you might not know.
Power, politics and the people behind the headlines.

brings you something you might not know. 155 years ago today, former president Franklin Pierce died
after decades of drinking. Though relatively unknown to most Americans, his president,
tenure escalated tension between the states and ultimately led to the Civil War.
Here is the story. Born in 1804, Franklin Pierce was the son of New Hampshire Governor Benjamin
Pierce. He was elected as a young man of Congress in 1833. Then he went on to the Senate.
The Democrat was handed his party's nomination in 1852 because he was a pro-slavery candidate
it from the north. Pierce easily defeated his Whig opponent, Winfield Scott, winning 27 of the 31 states.
During his administration, President Pierce was completely incapable of handling the growing divide
over slavery. Drinking only fueled his indecision. Political chaos brought about the emergence
of the new Republican Party. The Whigs got the boot.
years later, the Democrats refused to nominate Franklin Pierce, instead selecting someone
worse, James Buchanan. By the time Franklin left Washington, the nation was completely
fractured. The situation only grew worse under Buchanan. Throughout the Civil War, Pierce
maintained his friendship with Confederate President Jefferson Davis, already hated in New Hampshire
for his pro-slaidly position, Pierce was publicly humiliated and disgraced after Union troops
captured Davis's Mississippi home finding piles of treasonous correspondence between Davis and Franklin
Pierce. At the same time, Pierce was continuing to abuse alcohol. His health began to deteriorate
in 1869. He died from liver failure on October 8th at the age of 64. And here's something
else you might not know. Franklin Pierce's alcoholism was known by the public. During the 1852
campaign, his opponents mocked his drinking habits with the slogan, Pierce, hero of many a well-fought
bottle. Back after this.
