Bill O'Reilly here. Tuesday, September 10th, 2019. You are listening to the O'Reilly Update. Here's what's happening today in America. The White House says potential talks with the Taliban are dead on arrival. Google facing new antitrust investigations in 48 states. Total U.S. debt may be much higher than previously thought. Doctors warn of dark age diseases,
in downtown Los Angeles. Also coming up by message of the day, should actress Felicity Huffman
go to prison? But first, President Trump addressing voters in North Carolina before today's
special election to fill a long vacant seat in the House of Representatives, saying his Democratic
challengers all over the country will give away health care to illegal immigrants and strip away
citizens' Second Amendment rights. Mr. Trump confirming peace talks with the Taliban are officially dead,
telling reporters he decided to cancel the negotiations after the group claimed responsibility for
a suicide bombing that killed 12 people, including an American soldier. The U.S. military campaign
in Afghanistan began nearly 18 years ago and has claimed the lives of more than 2400 service
members. Tech giant Google facing new antitrust investigations in 48 states and the District of
Columbia. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton leading other governments to determine whether or not
the social media platform manipulates markets to sell consumer data to advertisers.
The actual level of U.S. debt may be much higher than economists previously predicted,
taking into account all forms of federal, state, local, financial, and entitlement debt,
the real figure is close to 2,000 percent of the entire United States' gross domestic product.
The federal debt alone will reach $22 trillion this year.
That is disastrous.
Health officials in California warning the recent rat infestation at home,
camps can bring about, quote, dark age illnesses like leprosy and plague.
Doctors say medieval-style conditions at tent cities across downtown L.A. and San Francisco
are perfect breeding grounds for the infectious diseases. There are approximately 60,000
people sleeping on the streets of L.A. every night. In a moment, actress Felicit
Huffman facing prison time. Would that be justice? Right back. Well, you've been hearing about gold
all over the news and prices keep going up. Experts warning a recession may be coming and it's

Time now for the O'Reilly Update message of the day.
Should actress Felicity Huffman,
who appeared in the TV program, Desperate Housewives,
go to federal prison?
Ms. Huffman faces one month and a $20,000 fine.
for admitting to bribing an academic to rig her high school daughter's SAT scores so the girl could
attend a better school. Now, Felicity Huffman will be sentenced on Friday. Federal prosecutors
want her to go to prison describing her behavior as, quote, deliberate and manifestly criminal.
Ms. Huffman asked a judge for one year probation instead of serving time. Quote, I am pleading guilty
to the charge brought against me by the United States Attorney's Office. I am in full acceptance of
my guilt, says Ms. Huffman, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done. I accept full
responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions.
She goes on, quote, I am ashamed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, my friends,
my colleagues, and the educational community. I want to apologize to them, and especially I want to
apologize to the students who work hard every day to get into college and to their parents
who make tremendous sacrifices to sport their children and do so honestly. Well, the Twitter mob
is not forgiven Felicity Huffman. And some in the media are hanging her as well. On the view,
Megan McCain said, quote, struggling to be a mom doesn't mean you break the law. They are the
poster children for what everyone hates about white privilege, and she deserves to go to jail.
I'm sorry for a long period of time for over a month. Again, that is Megan McCain.
Now, Felicity Hopman is not the first celebrity facing prison. Actor Mark Wahlberg,
when he was young, assaulted two Vietnamese men and served 45 days. Comedian Tim Allen
sold drugs, served 2.5 years.
Martha Stewart, instructed justice lied to investigators about stock sales. She served five months.
Mike Tyson served three years for rape. But compared to those situations with the possible
exception of Martha Stewart, Felicity Huffman's crime is small. Yes, rich parents who cheat must be
held accountable. But putting Felicity Huffman in prison, even for a few days, what purpose does that serve?
been humiliated, her career has been damaged, her daughter did not take any other students
place, her daughter's not even in school. Now, mercy is a virtue. Probation is the correct
sentence. Justice demands people pay a price for hurting other people or harming society
in general, Ms. Huffman harmed society. But there is no reason to punish the woman any further
for what she did. That's a message. And here's a heads up. My latest book, The United States
of Trump, How the President Sees America, will come out two weeks from today on September 24th.
I think you will like it. It's an important book giving you insight into Mr. Trump and how he
became the most powerful man in the world. You get a free copy on Bill O'Reilly.com. Just go there and
check it out. Again, the United States of Trump out September 24th. Coming next, something you might
not know. The Amazon Capital One data breach just hit. 106 million of us. Just had our names,
home addresses, banking information exposed. Forget credit card theft. Your far greater risk,
is home title fraud. Title fraud is rampant because identity thieves figured out the title and
mortgage to our homes are kept online. Their big payday comes by forging your name off your
home's title. So it appears they own your home. Then they borrow all your equity till it's gone.
Forget your insurance, bank, or identity theft program. They don't touch this. Home title lock does.
And they do it by locking down your home's online title and mortgage.
The first 60 days after crimes like the Amazon server Capital One breach are crucial.
So I got you 60 risk-free days of home title lock protection.

Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know.
The CBS Evening News has been.
an American television mainstay for nearly eight decades. The weeknight program began airing in
July of 1941, first as a 15-minute newscast, eventually extending to a half hour.
Anchors like Douglas Edwards, Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, became household names, and some of the
most trusted people in America. Now those days are largely over. With competition increasing and
public trust in television news declining. The CBS Evening News has fallen on hard times.
Ratings are at an all-time low. The program now runs in third place among the major networks
behind ABC and NBC. In an effort to turn things around, CBS management replaced anchor Jeff
Glor with Nora O'Donnell. That move seems to have the opposite effect. According to Nielsen,
in the show, CBS Evening News, lost 247,000 viewers or 5% of its total audience since Ms. O'Donald took over.
An average of 5 million people view the program, that may sound like a lot, but by comparison,
29 million tuned in every night to watch Walter Cronkite.
The decline is not just limited to the CBS Evening News, since the days of Johnny Carson,
late-night television has also taken a nosedive.
For years, viewers turned into Carson for a few laughs before bed.
Today, the current crop of late-night comics largely lecture the audience with anti-Trump jokes and divisive rhetoric.
Stephen Colbert currently leads the late-night ratings.
According to Nielsen, he pulls in about three and a half million viewers a night.
Behind him, NBC's Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and ABC's Jimmy Kimmel average about two mills.
million viewers each. Not very many. That's a long way from Johnny Carson, who entertained nine
million viewers each night. And in his final week, as the Tonight Show host, that number reached
19 million viewers. Quite a turnaround for the CBS Evening News and Light Night Television.
Johnny Carson, of course, is a legend. Today, there are few of those. The O'Reilly
update. We'll be right back. Mortgage rates are down more than 1% since 2018. In fact, according to
Freddie Mac data, if you were looking for a $300,000 mortgage late last year, you'd pay $240 more
per month than you would now, meaning a lower rate can make quite a difference in your budget.
Here's how to make it happen. Call my friends at American financing. Even if you bought your home
a year ago. Their salary-based mortgage consultants can see if there's a better rate out there
for you. There are no upfront fees, no pressure, no obligation, so why not see what they can do
for you? Even if you can't lower your mortgage rate, maybe you can consolidate high interest debt
like credit cards, which can put up to $1,000 back in your pocket each month. It only takes 10
minutes to start when you call American financing 888-462-9557, 888-462-9557, or Americanfinancing.net.
