The USA was populated by people who generally believed, in Judeo-Christian tradition. No longer. Over the past 25 years, religion has dramatically
Starting point is 00:04:22 declined in America. In 1996, 270 million people lived in the USA. Now it's about 330 million. In 1996, 88% of the population described itself as Christian. now 65%. 96, 24% of the population was Catholic, now 20%, 96, 66, 62% of the population was Protestant, now 43%. Judaism, 96, 1.4, 2021, 2.4%. Muslim, 96, 1.4%. Muslim, 96, 1% now, now, 1%. Atheist agnostic, no religion. 1996, 9% of the population, now 26%, the biggest increase by far in this area. Members who attend weekly services, 96, 65% went to worship every week. Today, 30%. It's a drop of more than 50%. Protestants, 96, 60% went to church weekly, now 22%. That's an astronomical drama. Jews, 20% and 96 attended, now 12%. Divorce rate, 1996, 15% in the USA. Now 50%. Poverty rate, 96, 10% now 13%.
Starting point is 00:06:08 Drug-related deaths, 1996, 9,000. Today, more than 100,000. So you can see that the decline in religion corresponds with the uptick in social problems. We are now a secular country, where right and wrong is often blurred. that means more questionable behavior, that means more criminal brutality, that means far less accountability for negative actions. So when you have a general philosophy, as the founding fathers did, that Judeo-Christian tradition, which is based upon the Ten Commandments, should be the theme of the country, then you have a way to regulate behavior. But once that disappears,
Starting point is 00:07:20 and it's every man or woman for his or herself that you can do pretty much what you want to do, and now laws are not even being enforced, then you are on the road to, anarchy.
