Here's what's happening today in America.

Record high incomes. Sports bill advances phase two. And it's virtually going to collapse. It's all coming up. Then Bill is going to be here with your message of the day. But first, the Census Bureau revealed that median household income in the United States has reached a record high. The median household income, $87,460. Adjusted for inflation, this is the highest household income since 1967. The median household income rose 3% for white households, 4.8% for black households. The Senate took the first step to advance a bill which would overhaul our college sports system, passing a procedural vote for a full Senate vote, 74 to 24. 24. The Bipartisan Protect College Sports Act would establish a federal framework for athlete compensation and transfers. And the bill would provide protections for student athletes, including caps on agent endorsement fees, as well as scholarship and health benefits for athletes.

Ted Cruz led the effort, and the president said he would sign it immediately when it eventually passes. The vice president said the U.S.-Iran conflict will enter a much different phase within months, declaring the first stage of the campaign complete. He said there are really two phases to this thing, and the first phase is done. That was to destroy the nuclear program and to destroy their conventional military and destroy their ability to project power in a way that they were able to, even just a couple years ago. The second phase, Vance explained, is to, quote, ensure that they're not able to rebuild and try to maintain as much global stability in the wake of that. The vice president said that commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has now returned

to well over 50% of normal traffic, and U.S. forces continue to enforce the blocking aid against Iran and protect vessels moving through the strait. Sentcom said that American forces have now redirected 103 commercial vessels to ensure compliance with that blockade. The president said the Kennedy Center is falling down. He said it's in a virtual state of collapse. A security guard passed through this area one minute prior to a piece of the ceiling, of concrete and steel falling from the ceiling right into the main hallway.

If the building were open, the president said innocent people would have been killed. A judge ruled that the Kennedy Center has to remain open, even though there's no performances. The president said, remember, the Kennedy Center was losing hundreds of millions of dollars when I took over. It was failing badly. It had nothing to do with me. I am only here to help. Donald Trump recently unveiled a plan to give all voters $5,000 if the Republicans keep the House and the Senate in the midterms November election. Are we getting bribed? Well, it's a bit more to the story than the media would have you believe. The president wanted to change the economic focus of America from services

to manufacturing. And he has largely succeeded in doing that. We now have the highest employment rate in 20 years for adults without a college degree. That sector of working class people is on the rise because of the tariffs, more things are being made in the USA. That makes sense, right? Now, the president believes so much money has come into the Treasury that everyone deserves a dividend, even if you don't vote for him. The problem here is that Americans don't know how much money we've actually taken in. The Trump administration should release those numbers. Is the national debt going down?

Are we flush with cash? We don't know. So without the facts, the media can say anything to take down President Trump and the Republican Party. Hey, Mr. President, release the debt. I'm Bill O'Reilly. Kara Woodson, Chicago, how was President Obama legally able to deport or turn around so many illegal immigrants at the border if they're allowed to process

once they set foot on American soil? Because there are laws about turning people around who are caught in the action of trying to get here. So, for example, if you have a phony passport and you're in an airline line, they see it, okay? They just turn you around. They don't bother with the process. There's a bunch of, it needs to all be clarified, but there's a bunch of laws that allow things. Gary, Republicans aren't mishandling their messaging. liberal legacy media will only report negative news.

It's true to some extent, but the president has a lot of visibility himself, a lot. So I'm not saying that's, I can't agree with the 100% there, Gary. Janet, I don't believe the problem is the left. The problem is the right, not have anywhere near enough media to get the message out. Again, Trump is by far the most accessible president in history as far as the media is concerned. He gets his own message out. In fact, tomorrow we're going to do a special on the AI controversy, which we've been investigating now. So Trump wants it to move forward. Others want to pause it.

We will have a very, very good report for tomorrow. But the president gets his word out. I watch O'Reilly. I have a question. My grandfather in 1932 had to take a test before he could vote. It was a law. Why can't they do that now? Because it's unconstitutional.

Can't disenfranchise people who can't pass a test. It's against the Constitution. One vote? One person. As long as they're here and they're illegal. In a moment, something you might not know. Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might. Not no. Fifty-two years ago today, President Gerald Ford issued a conditional pardon to so-called

draft Dodgers who refused to fight in Vietnam. Though praised by many, his decision enraged millions of Americans. Here is the story. Beginning in 1964, more than two million Americans were drafted into military service. Names were selected by a lottery linked to their data birth. Many avoided conscription by enrolling in college. Others claimed religious or medical exemptions. 200,000 people were charged with evading the draft, including Boxer Mohammed Ali, his conviction was overturned by the Supreme Court. Some Dodgers were arrested, sentenced to up to 18 months in prison. Others find $5,000. 50,000 Americans fled to Canada or Mexico. After a decade of bloodshed, the Vietnam War ended in January 1973. On September 16, 74,

President Ford issued a proclamation, granting a conditional pardon to some draft doctors, providing they work in a public service job for two years. Those who fled the country, however, were not eligible for the amnesty. Ford himself, a veteran of World War II, hoped the pardon would heal the divided country, said the president, quote, this reconciliation calls for an act of mercy to bind the nation's wounds and to heal the scars of divisiveness. Veterans groups, however, condemn Ford's proclamation, saying the act condoned desertion. After the pardon, the president's approval rating fell from 50 to 37 percent.

Ford lost the Democrat Jimmy Carter two years later, who issued an unconditional pardon for all draft Dodgers on his first day in office. And here's something else you might not know. The most popular destination for Americans who refused to fight in Vietnam was Toronto, Canada. Despite the pardon, 40,000 U.S. citizens remained there after the war.
