Starting point is 00:00:00 Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the weekend edition of the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater. Thanks, Bill. Here's what's happening this week in America. Highest security rating. Antifa takedown. FTC Sue's Ticketmaster.
Starting point is 00:00:19 And after 146 days, finally coming home. It's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, Homeland Security has designated this Sunday's memorial service for Charlie Kirk as a special event assessment rating level one. It's the same level of security as the Super Bowl, inaugurations, national conventions, and UN General Assembly meetings. The Glendale Police Department predicts that they could see up to 100,000 people
Starting point is 00:00:45 show up for Sunday's Memorial. Tickets are first come first serve, so they expect people to start lining up at 2 a.m. It's going to be an amazing day. The memorial starts at 11 o'clock mountain time, 1 o'clock Eastern. Fight for Charlie.com for more information. The president said he would designate Antifa as a major terrorist organization. He said, I'm pleased to inform our many USA Patriots that I am designated Antifa, a sick, dangerous, radical left disaster as a major terrorist organization.
Starting point is 00:01:14 I will also be strongly recommending that those funding Antifa be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the highest legal standards and practices. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Stephen Miller said, there's this whole network of organizations. and the key point is somebody's paying for this. This is not happening for free. And so under the president's direction, the attorney general is going to find out who's paying for it,
Starting point is 00:01:35 and they will now be criminally liable for paying for violence. The FTC is suing Ticketmaster, saying they're forcing customers to pay more money to see live events. They're deceiving customers by advertising lower ticket prices than what you have to pay, and falsely claiming to impose strict limits on the number of tickets that consumers can buy for an event. The FTC says these brokers with fake accounts buy up millions of dollars with the tickets
Starting point is 00:02:01 and then sell them in a markup on Ticketmaster's platform, which Ticketmaster then gets another cut of. Ticketmaster controls over 80% of major U.S. concert venues primary ticketing. A baby in Long Island is finally coming home. Why does that make the news that happens all the time? This one's significant because this baby was born at 26 weeks. Three months early, she was born one pound, 14 ounces. The director of neonatology said seeing her finally go home, cradled in the arms of her mom and dad is the kind of moment we all hope for. Mom said they really treated Trinity like she was their own child.
Starting point is 00:02:40 The love they had for her, the care they gave her was outstanding. We knew that she was in good hands. They were strangers, but now I consider every one of the nurses in the NICU as a family. They're absolutely amazing. If I may, in the spirit of Charlie Kirk, one of the arguments that pro-abortion people make is it's not a baby till it's viable. but that age keeps changing, as baby Trinity can attest to. I'm Mike Slater from the podcast, Politics by Faith.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day. Next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets. Days after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, there remains a national sadness. The cliche life goes on applies, but not total. There is change in the air.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Extremists on the left are now under more pressure than I've seen in years. Some like Stephen Colbert and Matthew Dowd have lost their jobs. Others are approaching unemployment. Radical left pockets still exist in Hollywood, Manhattan, and Boston, but across the country that movement is damaged. The essential reason that progressive tactics are failing is chaos. In Chicago, San Francisco, even Charlotte, North Carolina, soft-on-crime policies have directly led to social disorder.
Starting point is 00:05:04 It is right before our eyes. Added to that is the progressive tactics of demonizing and blackballing opposing points of view. Hitler, racist, homophobe, you've heard it all. It never ends. And then, after the murder of the murder of the crime. of Charlie Kirk, you had some, not a majority, but some far-left people celebrating. That is abhorrent. Most Americans are not ideological. They are good people who want a decent society. The murder of Charlie Kirk is spotlighting the progressive madness. And now many
Starting point is 00:05:51 more people are paying attention. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to opine. Now let's go to the mail. We got Stevie, who's a concierge member, direct access to me. The left cannot be marginalized fast enough. Hate and discontent are paraded as patriotic. Some of that, that's for sure. Matt Crowell, Irving, Texas. I disagree about Howard Kurt saying Charlie Kirk was not a saint and thus downplaying assassination. I believe Mr. Kurtz was stating the obvious that when tragic events happened, the public gets a tendency to remember the affected persons through rose-tinted glasses.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Okay, but why bother with the statement? Why bother? Particularly, what, four days after the man would shot the death and you're saying he wasn't a saint? Why? Nobody's a saint. Howard Curtis thinks that's a perceptive comment. Why did he say it? It was not necessary. That was my point. That you got to think about this stuff before you start to blather about it. Not necessary. Richard Miller, Gallipolis, Ohio. Got to see the Confronting Evil special on News Nation. I know it was bumped a couple of times because of coverage of Charlie Kirk. The special was fascinating. Definitely have to buy the book. And I'm going to tell you, we'll show you a clip of the special in about two minutes. So thank you for watching it,
Starting point is 00:07:33 Richard. Tim Miles, Roseville, California. I just finished the Kindle version of evil, fabulous. I knew a little about Putin, but not the whole story. I also knew about his experience running Stasi, but I didn't know that he was in charge. Yeah, that Putin chapter 20 pages, and that's why I mentioned President Trump when I gave him the book. I said, check out the Putin chapter. This will explain a lot of why this guy is doing what he's doing. In a moment, something you might not know. Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Last week, more evil enveloped the world. Vladimir Putin launched drones into Poland. as the U.S. marked the 24th anniversary of 9-11. In addition, conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was shot dead in Utah. Sadly, Mr. Kirk's name joins a long list of notable civilians killed in the USA. Here are a few.
Starting point is 00:08:37 In 1965, Malcolm X killed while speaking to a crowd in Harlem. Three years later, fellow civil rights leader, Martin Luther King, Jr., murdered in Memphis. 1969, pregnant actress Sharon Tate stabbed the death by members of the Manson family in L.A. 1980, former Beatle John Lennon shot and killed outside his apartment in New York City. 1984, musician Marvin Gay, killed by his own father while the two were arguing. 1996, rapper Tupac Shakir gunned down in Las Vegas. Six months later, his nemesis Biggie Smalls killed in a drive-by shooting.
Starting point is 00:09:18 neither case has been solved. 1997, Italian fashion designer Johnny Vesace murdered outside his Miami mansion by a serial killer. 2005, John James, CEO of United Healthcare, assassinated while walking down a street in Midtown Manhattan. His killer Luigi Mangione has pleaded not guilty to all the charges even though it's on videotape. And then last week, Charlie Kirk shot in the neck and killed in Utah.
Starting point is 00:09:52 He was just 31 years old. And here's something else you might not know. Despite the large number of shootings and relatively high homicide rate, the USA remains relatively safe. According to the World Population Review, the USA ranks 67 when listing countries with the most criminality. Top of the grim list, Myanmar, Colombia, South America, Mexico, Nigeria, and South Africa. The safest place in the world, Liechtenstein, in Europe.
Starting point is 00:10:32 But believe me, evil is rising in America. And that is why I wrote my new book, Confronting Evil. Back after this. That is the weekend edition of the O'Reilly Update.
