President Biden says he wants corporations and affluent Americans to pay their fair share in taxes. How many times have we heard Mr. Biden say that? But did he pay his fair share? Here we go. report from the Congressional Research Service claims Mr. Biden may owe up to $500,000 in back
Starting point is 00:04:28 taxes. Republican Congressman Jim Banks says, quote, multimillionaire Joe Biden skirted his payroll taxes, the very taxes that fund Medicare and Obamacare. According to the criteria provided to my office, he owes the IRS and the American people hundreds of thousands of dollars, unquote. Well, the White House responded with a quote of its own. The salaries earned by the Bidens are reasonable and were determined in good faith, considering the nature of the entities and the services they performed, unquote. Well, I don't know what that means. I'm not an accountant, so I can't possibly know. But here's the deal, as Joe Biden might say. In simple terms, the loophole is used by individuals to route personal income through a business, allowing the Bidens in this case to avoid a 3.8% self-employment tax. Now, there are more than 5 million registered S corporations in the USA. On Mr. Biden's 2020 tax returns, it says the president and the first lady filed their income tax return jointly and reported federal adjusted gross income of $607,336. The Biden's paid in federal income tax, $157,414. That is a 26% rate. The president and the first lady also reported donating $30,700 or about 5% of their total income to 10 different charities. That is not a large
Starting point is 00:07:36 amount for millionaires. Anyway, the point is that once again, President Biden does, not walk the walk.
