If you read my new book, the United States of Trump, you will learn exactly why the president made the request for information on Joe Biden to the president of Ukraine. Simply put, Mr. Trump believes that Mr. Biden, as well as President
Starting point is 00:04:23 Obama and Hillary Clinton, got away with unethical, perhaps illegal political activities in the Russia collusion thing. That belief has almost become an obsession for the president. He is driven to expose the three. Mr. Trump determined to uncover the corruption he believes took place during the 2016 campaign and beyond. Enter the whistleblower, an anonymous federal employee, who has caused Donald Trump much harm. Apparently, the still unnamed person gathered hearsay, hired three attorneys, then brought a damning and urgent accusation to a federal inspector general who, intriguingly states the informer may have a political bias. Well, that's allowed in our political system. But the situation is a sting. No question. The whistleblower does not have to prove
Starting point is 00:05:21 anything, just accuse. Think Christine Ford, Brett Kavanaugh. As soon as all hell broke loose last week, the Trump administration released a transcript of the Ukraine call, believing no wrongdoing occurred. But there doesn't have to be wrongdoing. Just the allegation of abuse of power is enough for the nation's anti-Trump press to convict the president and demand he be removed from office. The truth is Nancy Pelosi is hitching a ride on the impeachment train. She's not the driver. She knows the national press will provide cover for the Democrats and believes the impeachment process, even if it doesn't result in the president's removal, will damage Donald Trump, and his re-election bid. If President Trump ever stops reacting and starts thinking, he should tell the
Starting point is 00:06:20 nation that his conversation with the president of Ukraine had to do with gathering information about possible government corruption in America at the highest level. Spell it out, Mr. President. As the USA's chief law enforcement agent, you have the sworn duty. to expose nefarious activity in the federal system past and present. Mr. Trump should absolutely explain why he wanted Ukraine's help in the Russian matter. It may be complicated, but it's necessary for the American people to hear so they can make an intelligent decision. The sting that has ignited an impeachment inquiry and damaged the president is absolutely not
Starting point is 00:07:11 what it appears to be. There was a legitimate and important reason why President Trump asked a foreign leader about Joe Biden. The corrupt American press will never report that reason. So Donald Trump must do it himself. Again, I detail some of this in the book and new information about corrupt bargains continues to come forth. And that's the message of the day. Please visit bill o'Reilly.com for more on the Ukraine and other honest analysis. Up next, something you might not know. Now, the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know. The most common mental disorders in America are not depression or anxieties, but phobias. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, one in ten Americans have debilitating phobias, persistent fears that cause people to avoid certain objects
Starting point is 00:08:11 or situations. Most will never seek treatment adjusting their lifestyle to accommodate their fear. Here are the most common phobias in America. Arachnophobia, fear of spiders, is the oldest and most common terror in Western culture. While there are 40,000 species of spider, most are incapable of penetrating human skin, so they can't hurt you. But that doesn't bring much comfort to people like Justin Timberlake, an outspoken sufferer of arachnophobia. Aviophobia will keep you on the ground. That's a fear of flying. It affects 25 million Americans.
Starting point is 00:08:52 Aretha Franklin, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, all struggled with flying. Bowie wants to use an ocean liner for an international tour to avoid the not-so-friendly skies. Next is acrophobia. Fear of heights affects more than 25. million U.S. adults, including musician Cheryl Crowe, and actor Sylvester Stallone. Anthropologists say the sensation is likely linked to humans' prehistoric ancestors, many of whom slept in trees and other high elevation locations.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Well, you better brush twice a day if you have this next one, dentophobia. More than 20% of Americans fear going to the dentist. If you cringe at the thought of a mass man poking around your mouth, professionals recommend cognitive behavioral therapy to get your fear under control. Hollywood actor Robert De Niro suffers from this affliction, but it does not cause him to keep his mouth shut, does it? For all of our irrational fears, things that keep most Americans up at night are everyday struggles. Annual survey show personal finance, health, and climate change rank at the top of the list. But here's something you might not know.
Starting point is 00:10:09 According to NPR, 7 and 10 Americans have a new fear this year. Corrupt politicians. Back after this. It's an uncertain world out there. You know that.
