I hope you head off. You're here in the Northeast or in the Upper Midwest, even the Midwest. Can't do anything. It's too cold. It's freezing here. Teradog actually fell in a mud. Oh, boy. If you could have seen me this weekend. So cold and icy. When she goes out, she falls in this big mud pit. I guess it was my fault, but then I had to throw in the bath. And it was like, there were many bad words. Not by her. She doesn't, she doesn't, by me. Anyway, I'm not the weatherman, but I wanted to bring you up to date on the status of where we are here in the Northeast.
Starting point is 00:02:02 President's Day, so most Americans, sadly, don't care about their presidents, and it's the guy that's in. They care about, so what are you going to do for me? It's not the opposite of JFK's an inaugural address. But they don't care about, you know, what has happened in the past because they live in a moment. Now, I have the most successful history series in history. Nobody sold more history books than me ever. And I'm very proud of that. And we have confronting the presidents out now, 22 consecutive weeks on the New York Times list.
Starting point is 00:02:41 So if you care about the presidents, you've got to get that book. And it's President's Day that's Lincoln and Washington. And I wrote books on both of them, Killing Lincoln, my first book. and killing England, which is heavy George Washington. But both Lincoln and Washington appear in confronting the presidents as well. Anyway, you read those three books. You'll know everything, not everything,
Starting point is 00:03:07 but all the pertinent information about the two best presidents, Lincoln and Washington, and then all the rest of them, including the worst James Be Count and the second worst Joe Biden. So I'm giving myself a plug, but it's a worthy plug. You will learn a lot.
Starting point is 00:03:23 lot. Now, President Trump is the most controversial president in history. He's past Andrew Jackson. And he's having fun by doing all kinds of stuff that annoy the people who hate him, and that's the goal. Every time he sends out a tweet, every time he says something, the design is to drive his opposition nuts. And he uses that. Okay. I don't think the appointment of Alon Musk was done in that vein. I think that Trump said, look, this is a smart guy. He's running all kinds of corporations. I want him to take a look and see where the government is wasting money.
Starting point is 00:04:08 I think that's what it was. I don't think even Trump anticipated the hatred that would be directed toward Musk. And that is the Talking Points memo this evening. Okay. So I get a lot of mail. that is just so crazy because people are believing what they hear on network, cable, and social media. And it's astonishing these people will say things that just simply aren't true. Here is the truth.
Starting point is 00:04:40 I can only give you a portion of it because I don't have eight hours, but I'm going to do that. So the national debt right now is more than $36 trillion. dollars. If that continues to rise the way it has the last eight years under Trump first and Biden, then the country will go bankrupt around 40, between 40 and 45 trillion. What does bankrupt mean? We're not going to be able to pay our debts. And that will send a shockwave through the worldwide economy. So you have to stop it. Trump knows that. You have to stop it. Can't continue to do this. Biden was the biggest spending president in our nation's history.
Starting point is 00:05:25 Every year he was in, the four, about $2 trillion was added to the debt. Can't do it. It's unsustainable. And Biden couldn't have cared less. He didn't even know because he wasn't able to calibrate that kind of an equation. Now, you've heard a lot of things about government waste. Let's give you a few examples. This is verified.
Starting point is 00:05:52 This is true. So $20 million, taxpay dollars, we spent on a Sesame Street show in Iraq for Iraq kids. $20 million American dollars, $24 million spent on green transportation in the country of Georgia. Okay? Georgia, not the state, the country which was formerly part of the Soviet Union, almost $50 million has been sent to, God knows who, in Colombia, the country of Colombia, to help Venezuela and migrants, people who fled that country. $50 million. And we don't even know who's getting that money. It's not going to the migrants. 40 million for schooling.
Starting point is 00:06:46 in Jordan, the country of Jordan, 45 million for DEI scholarships in Burma, which is Myanmar, run by a military dictatorship. I don't believe that last number. I don't believe it. I think the money was just stolen outright by somebody. But that's what's on the sheet. That's what's verified by the USAID. They sent the money.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Did the money get there? They don't know. Must doesn't know. All Must knows that all of that money I just told you was sent. Nobody watched it. Now, you say to yourself, why? Why? It's a tradition for the American government to bribe other countries to do what we want by sending them aid. That's the overarch.
Starting point is 00:07:41 So we want Jordan to do stuff. stuff. We want Myanmar to do stuff for us. So we send them money in aid form. That's the con. All right. Here are some what you've heard that isn't true. Okay. 56 million to boost tourism in Egypt and Tanzania, Africa. Did not happen. 50 million for condoms to go to people in Gaza. Did not happen. Eight million to Politico, to fund Politico, which is a left-wing internet website, did not happen. I thought that happened that last one, but my staff said no. 44,000 was sent to political. Nobody knows why. But not eight million. Now, there are other things that people are accusing the government in doing
Starting point is 00:08:46 that didn't happen. And when we see it, we'll report it because that's what we do. I just mailchimp my marketing. You mailchimped your what? I mailchimped my marketing with AI to create an effective marketing campaign in minutes. No, mailchimp and way. Yes, mailchimp in way. Now I can hyper-personalize my campaigns across email and SMS.
Starting point is 00:09:07 You can do all that with mailchimp. What did I just mailchimp and say? Mailchimp your marketing with an... Number one, AI-powered email marketing and automation platform, Intuit MailChimp. Number one, based on publicly available data on competitors, customers. Plans vary. SMS available as add-ons. Visit MailChimp.com. I'm doing to my family, because we're going to Burlington for the event of liquidation
Starting point is 00:09:27 candent. We're going to now right now same to find the best of the best in articles of liquidation, from rope, to decoration of the home, and much more. With offers, over-offertas. I can go back day to be how to earn. My kids and I hope we're with anxious the liquidation
Starting point is 00:09:42 because it's very calient to get a Burlington Marks, Rebaugh Wow Okay Now
Starting point is 00:09:50 this has been going on as I said Ever since World War II ended That's when all of this started Because the United States
Starting point is 00:10:00 needed cooperation To fight Stalin and Mao The Communists Who we bought countries By giving them made. That's the historical basis of it. And then on and on and on and on. You can't,
Starting point is 00:10:15 the numbers are so big you couldn't even add them up to how much American tax money has been sent to countries overseas. All right. So now you know that picture. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com if you have any questions. Name in town. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Now, Trump wants to shrink the federal workforce because it's bloated. So right now, there are 2.4,000, you know, there are 2.4 million Americans working for the federal government. Maybe you need half that. So Trump has offered a buyout. The buyout is, we'll pay you your salary and benefits through September of this year.
Starting point is 00:10:58 If you don't take the buyout, you could get fired with nothing. That's what Trump is offering. 75,000 federal employees have accepted the buyout. Now, some are suing, Trump's going to win all of those suits. He is the president. Executive Branch has the constitutional right to control government spending, even if the spending has been allocated by Congress. If it's abusive or wasteful or criminal, the executive branch can say, we're not going to do it. Where do you see?
Starting point is 00:11:36 So Trump's going to win all of those lawsuits. The final thing is, why would anybody be opposed to this? You know, if you have to stop the debt or everybody's going to get crushed, why would you be opposed to Elon us doing it? Now, I guess Musk will make some mistakes, and maybe he'll overshoot. They go in old classified information in his personal records. I'm not upset about it. I got to tell you.
Starting point is 00:12:16 You know, I don't want those people to get private records, but I haven't seen any evidence of that. So, I don't know, if they're opposed, they got to tell me why they're opposed, and I'm really not buying it. And that's a memo. Hey Bill O'Reilly here. In my career, I have interviewed seven presidents, covered every major story of the last few decades, but I've never seen an opportunity like this one. President Trump's second term could mirror the economic boom in the 1920s, a time when unemployment hit 1.8%. Stock soared 265%.
Starting point is 00:12:54 The ordinary Americans had their shot at real prosperity. That's why I've recorded a special presentation with renowned investment expertise. Alexander Green called the rebirth of the American Dream. Alex will reveal how President Trump plans to slash regulations, cut taxes, bring manufacturing back to America, and unlock the AI-driven tech boom. Plus, you will get details on six specific stocks that could soar during Trump's presidency. Please visit Trump's American Dream.com to watch our presentation now. now. Joining us now from Arlington, Virginia, is Dr. Viramik Dureji. She is the George Gibbs chairwoman
Starting point is 00:13:43 in political and economy and senior research at the Mercatus Center, which is a libertarian think I have that all right. You're at George Mason University in Virginia. They don't fund you, but that's where your office is. Right? Am I, so far, am I, do I have it? Exactly correct, unlike many people. Okay. So when you're watching this from afar, not too far,
Starting point is 00:14:12 you're right across the Potomac. Is Trump doing anything wrong here, in your opinion? Listen, I was excited to see something I was not expecting with the election of President Trump is that government spending was going to, to be in cutting government spending in waste, fraud, abuse was going to be elevated to such a high national level. And that's a good thing. I mean, in the last eight years, we haven't talked about cutting spending. As you've laid out, we should be really concerned about it. And it's just
Starting point is 00:14:48 been on the back burner. No one is scared. And certainly, the Department of Government of Efficiency has elevated the profile of this. Especially, I think, think it is important. And finally, in 2025, someone is looking at improper payments, 95% of it, which are overpayments. And we're talking, it's like, you know, like improper payment is $236 billion a year. And fraud, actual fraud, which is nobody disputes that, by the way. Nobody disputes it. No one disputes what you're saying. They just don't like Elon Musk. Yes. And so, I mean, and it's worth kind of, I was actually shocked by these numbers. Improper payment I had been following, but fraud, only what I know, and it was been projected
Starting point is 00:15:39 in 2023 could have been north of $500 billion. This is not nothing. And this is something that should be non-controversial going after this. Why do you think it's controversial? Why is Elon Musk controversial? I think right now everyone is so polarized that whatever it is Trump or Musk do, I mean, people are against it if you're going to be against something. But it's not, it's not controversial. I mean, the government accountability office puts out reports about improper payments and about fraud. And fraud, obviously, they tell you this is only what they know and the problem.
Starting point is 00:16:26 Where do they get into the Defense Department and the Department of Education? Oh, my God. Where do they see that? But we have now the Democratic Party pretty much opposing the Doge office, and they're using civil liberties, classified information, they're using all that. But they don't want this. And historically, ever since World War II, Democrats, Democrats have run on entitlements, major spending, they're not the cutback party, where the
Starting point is 00:17:00 Republicans used to be the fiscally responsible, but then they, after 9-11, forget it. The Republicans went into the spending spree. Now it seems like the GOP wants to come back a little. Is that your assessment? I didn't hear your last sentence. Is that your assessment? that the, go ahead. It's my assistant. But I think we also, we need to be careful in in making a difference between what is improper payment and fraud and what is, and what we call
Starting point is 00:17:35 waste. Because in a way, if you think about it, waste is in the eye of the beholder, right? I mean, a lot of the government spending that you and I may call waste, actually there's a special interest behind it, and there's a politicians who could justify it and says, this is, this is why I think we should be doing this and this is not at all waste, right? And this is where I think that the Dodge people may run into a little trouble if they don't do more explaining about why they consider that some of this spending is... That's a good point. There's a good point. But when you see $50 million going to Burma for some kind of DEI program, Americans are not going to get back. Nobody's going to be able to explain that. I know what it's about. It's about
Starting point is 00:18:20 I agree with you, but this has been legally appropriated by Congress, right? I mean, that said, I mean, I guess I should refer to. No, they didn't appropriate that money. Considering the agencies. They didn't appropriate. They gave the money to the U.S. AID, but they didn't say give it a Burma. That's what people don't understand. Congress doesn't micromanage the spending.
Starting point is 00:18:43 You're absolutely correct. The heads of the departments, they tell the people where the money's going. Congress just gives them the lump sum. Last word on this. I think this is hurting the Democratic Party. I think most Americans are willing to overlook some of Elon Musk's pomposity if he can get results. But the Democratic Party is going all in to try to discredit the whole thing. I think that's a mistake.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Your opinion? I think it's a mistake that they're not working. along with Musk, because I think it should be non-controversial that we have an enormous debt problem. And it's also non-controversial that there's a lot that needs to be done. And by not working, by just being adversarial, they're not preventing some of the problems that Musk may be having. Like, for instance, there was like he put out a table on social security being paid to a lot of people that probably have been dead for 150 years. And some serious analysts have said, it's weird because it doesn't actually quite, not that they weren't trusting Musk finding,
Starting point is 00:19:54 but they were wondering whether some of it was his teams not understanding the way things were reported. There's a lot of collaboration that could exist to actually make this government run better. And by just being adversarial, we're not doing things that the American public deserves. I agree 100 percent, Dr. Well said. Thank you for helping us out. We appreciate very much. All right. So the Democrats are really taking a chance here. So as bombastic as President Trump is with the Gulf of America and Canada is going to be 51st state and we're going to take over Panama and Greenland, as bombastic as that is, most Americans know that Donald Trump's a provocateur is what he does for fun. This is his hobby. They don't think
Starting point is 00:20:47 at all that seriously. If we start to send special forces to Panama, then we will. But that's not going to happen. But the Democratic Party is dead serious in opposing accountability of all of this massive governor spending. Go. My outrage is about who they're hurting. Again, I don't care about the bromance. Who cares about the bromance? I don't like letting unelected officials, you know, post, yesterday the Doge guys post classified information on their website. I think Doge is an unelected, unofficial, small group of young tech bros who are charging into different federal agencies, getting into their core computer systems, doing things with them that at least I don't know the full details of, copying and downloading, re-reembourging.
Starting point is 00:21:41 of data? Okay. Why would Keane, who ran, you know, VP, as you remember, with Hillary, and Coons, who's Joe Biden's big buddy, why are they nitpicking this? When, FDR did the same thing, and so did JFK. So I wrote a message of the day. I outline it like this, all right? Here's what FDR did. Same thing that Trump's doing, exactly the same. And here's what JFK did. Same thing. And I got a letter from a journalist liberal friend of mine saying that I was misstating history.
Starting point is 00:22:24 I didn't even answer, and I always answer these kinds of things if I know the person. I didn't even answer because history is history. And the way I laid it out in the message of the day on bill o'Reilly.com is what happened. And you can look it up. And if the guy who's telling me, I am misrepresenting history, can't read, I can't help him. Just look it up.
Starting point is 00:22:50 I got the names. You set the table, put on a playlist, even made the lasagna from scratch. And now you're wearing it. OxyClean MaxForce spray tackles tough, set in stains the first time. Adulting is hard. Fighting stains shouldn't be.
Starting point is 00:23:04 Oxyclean Maxforce. It's not clean unless it's oxyclean. Ryan Reynolds here from Intmobile. With the price of just about everything going up, we thought we'd bring our prices down. So to help us, we brought in a reverse auctioneer, which is apparently a thing. Mint Mobile Unlimited, Premium Wireless. How did it to get 30, 30, a bit to get 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, a bit to get 15, 15, 15, just 15 bucks a month. So, give it a try at mintmobile.com slash switch.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Up front payment of $45 for three month, plan equivalent to $15 per month required. New customer offer for first three months only. Speed slow after 35 gigabytes of networks busy. Taxes and fees extra. So I hope that every morning you go to Bill O'Reilly.com and you look at the message of the day. You don't have to be a member. You don't have to be anything. It's free. The column that we'll get to on the Pope is free. And you'll learn a lot. Now, people believe what they want to believe. And my liberal friend does not want to believe that FDR and JFK did this, even though they did. you don't want to believe it so he's not going to believe it no place i can go with that there's
Starting point is 00:24:12 no debate there's no discussion there it is you don't believe it you don't believe it washington post good story so uh the southern poverty law center is about as radical left as you can get right you all know that common cause another radical left thing they raise is $115,000 to get an advertisement in the Washington Post saying that Elon Musk should be fired. Okay? So the two organizations raised $115,000, take out an ad or a couple of ads, fire Elon Musk. Washington Post says, okay, 115,000 in Washington Post is a lot of jack. But now they backed out because Bezell, and I can't prove this, but I know.
Starting point is 00:25:03 know it. Bezos, who owns the post, you know, run that head. That's power for Trump. That ad's not running. It'll run someplace. And when it does, I'll show it to you. All right, Donald Trump's in Florida. We don't know what he's doing down there, why he's down there, or when he's coming back to the White House. It's cold, and it's going to get colder, and it's going to snow in Washington. I think that's why he's down there. But me being on the scene down in Montalago, he's got a, he can do everything down there that he can in Washington. Got a big office, got the whole system,
Starting point is 00:25:42 so I'm not worried about that. Kamala Harris, I told you she's gonna be the next governor of California. I mean, oh, it's so ridiculous. Of course she's gonna be the next governor of California. So Newsom is term limited out in 26, and Emerson takes a poll down there with the Hill.
Starting point is 00:26:04 And here they found out that among Democratic primary voters, Kamala Harris, that's 57%. The next Democrat is 9%. Katie Porter. Come on. You know, when I tell you something, I just don't, I'm not like most of the others. I just don't make it up.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Kamala Harris is gonna walk into Sacramento. Not that she's gonna be at Sacramento. You don't wanna be there. there, but she'll be the next governor. Okay? 57% supporter now. Her closest challenger is 9%. All right, J.D. Vance is in Germany, causing trouble.
Starting point is 00:26:53 So the vice president goes over, Munich, beautiful town, by the way. If you have to go to Germany, and it's a nice country. Munich is the best city. Bavaria. And he goes over and he scolds not only to German, but all of Europe. This is the vice president. He scolds them. He says, you're not putting enough money into the collective defense.
Starting point is 00:27:17 The United States is not going to continue spending all of this money to defend you. You've got to put more money in. Okay? Okay. And when conservative Europeans try to get certain things done, you shut them down. You don't let them talk. And you're violating their freedom of speech. This is Vance.
Starting point is 00:27:44 Okay? And he's carrying out what, excuse me, Trump wants. Got it? Vance, Munich, got to put, Europe's got to put more money. in collective defense, it's got to lighten up on dissenting thought. They're conservative groups. They deserve to be heard. Vance.
Starting point is 00:28:04 Enter Secretary of State, Marco Rubio. Used to be little Marco. Now he's Big Marco. He goes on the CBS program, morning program, Sunday morning program, Face the Nation with liberal journalist Margaret Brennan. And this becomes a major controversy. Go. Well, he was standing in a country where free speech was weaponized to conduct a genocide. And he met with the head of a political party that has far-right views and some historic ties to extreme groups.
Starting point is 00:28:47 The context of that was changing the tone of it. And you know that, that the censorship was specifically about the right. No, I have to disagree with you. Free speech was not used to conduct a genocide. The genocide was conducted by an authoritarian Nazi regime that happened to also be genocidal because they hated Jews and they hated minorities and they hated those that they had a list of people they hated, but primarily the Jews. There was no free speech in Nazi Germany. Absolutely true.
Starting point is 00:29:18 Historical fact, just like I was telling you about FDR and JFK. Now, Margaret Brennan is a very well-educated person, University of Virginia, and she got a Fulbright, she was studying in Jordan, he's got a good resume, you know, been a while in Washington, chief foreign affairs correspondent for CBS News. But Margaret Brennan does not know much about the third right. She doesn't. You couldn't make that statement if she did. Free speech had nothing to do with the Holocaust. Hitler wiped out free speech in 1934. By first the brown shirts, the SA, and then when he got to be chancellor, the SS and the Gestapo.
Starting point is 00:30:06 All dissent was punished in Germany. There wasn't any debate about the Holocaust, no free speech about it. In fact, Hitler didn't even articulate the Holocaust. the Holocaust ever, all right, until the final solution. He wasn't even at the meeting because he knew that was a war crime. So Margaret Brennan doesn't know, and she's one of CBS News main anchors. And this is my point. I've been in the business now 50 years.
Starting point is 00:30:46 The younger people, they don't know. And when you listen to them, they have most of them, 80% of them had no blank an idea what they're talking about, particularly when it gets to history and what happened in the past. They don't know. And it's dangerous. And then executives running these corporations, they're exceedingly dumb. They're stupid people. So they don't know.
Starting point is 00:31:15 And that's how you have the collapse of journalism in this country. country. They just don't know. And they don't care to know, by the way. You think Margaret Brennan is read Killing the SS? Or killing Patton? Those are the two books that deal with Nazi Germany or not? No, she doesn't read them. And she will read them because she's not interested. But whoever told Ms. Brennan to say that, because I don't think she said it on her on, I think the thing was written for her, it's a catastrophe. All right, Canadian. So I'm watching the hockey tournament with Finland, Sweden, Canada, USA. And Saturday night, the USA team plays the Canadians in Montreal, roll it.
Starting point is 00:32:18 Okay. Now what did you expect? If I were a Canadian, I would have booed to. Yeah, you don't like Trump saying he's going to be his 51st date. He's going to evaporate the country. Of course they're going to boo. My cat Freddy loves to be brushed and cuddled. But stirring up his cat allergens meant sneezing and itchy eyes. Now, the Americans won three to one, and they play Sweden a night, and then they play for their championship on Thursday, and Americans got the best team, but that doesn't mean they're going to win, but that's what happened.
Starting point is 00:34:01 Smart Life. So we reported that the Surgeon General says that if you're a boozer, a regular drinker, you have a much higher rate to get cancer. colon, larynx, liver, throat, okay, and breast cancer as well, to you ladies. So if you're drinking on a regular basis, 100,000 cancer cases directly linked to booze, 20,000 deaths every year. So this surgeon general. I believe it.
Starting point is 00:34:36 I absolutely believe it. Okay. So they took a poll USA Today. It says, based on this, are you going to cut back? and you're drinking, 86% say, no, no, 13% say, yeah, we're going to cut back a little. And actually, because booze, if you're a regular drinker, you're thinking about it and you want it. Now, that doesn't mean you're an alcoholic, okay, but it means that it's an important part of your life, right? am I right and yeah I'm going to keep doing it now I predict pot's going to emerge as
Starting point is 00:35:20 worse pot is more addictive than alcohol everybody doesn't think that but it is so powerful you're putting that right in your brain okay we see in 10 years the massive social problems and physical problems we have the pot the Pope hospitalized pretty serious respiratory problems, 88 years old. Now, I wrote a column because the Pope versus the Founding Fathers, and it's gotten a lot of play on Bill O'Reilly.com. It's about migration, how Pope Francis sees it, and what the Constitution of the United States says.
Starting point is 00:36:03 And they're not compatible. So we wish the Pope the best. I think he's a good man. I want you to read the column. Okay? You'll, believe me, you won't be boring. Then let me know what you think. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com, bill at bill o'Reilly.com.
Starting point is 00:36:25 Okay, this day in history, February 17th, 1801. What a mess. Fourth election. First two were Washington. Come on in, George. No opposition. Then John Adams, who was Washington's VP, he got elected, but nobody liked him. And when you read Confirning the Presidents, you'll see why.
Starting point is 00:36:49 They didn't like John. So then, 1801, there were four candidates. Adams running for re-election, Thomas Jefferson, Aaron Burr, a man named Charles Cotsworth Pinkney. And there was no popular vote because most people couldn't read a right. and there were no paper you couldn't get it so the states 13 of them uh they elected the president through the electoral college was a tie this is amazing it's a tie so jefferson and aaron berb they each got 73 adams got 65 electoral votes and pinkney who nobody ever heard of got 64 So then I went to the House of Representatives.
Starting point is 00:37:42 Now, nobody liked Aaron Byr. Nasty SOB. Nasty. And he actually killed Alexander Hamilton years later, as you'll remember. So Jefferson got elected. But it was one big mess. And Jefferson was two-term president. So that happened.
Starting point is 00:38:02 The Electoral College and the House elected Jefferson 224 years ago today. Okay, we're back with the Saturday Night Live assessment in a moment. Final thought of the day, I'm doing a piece on Saturday Night Live's 50th on YouTube. Okay, we have a YouTube channel. It's YouTube. Let me just see, madge that, dot com slash Bill O'Reilly, all right? So I'm going to throw this up in a little.
Starting point is 00:38:37 little while. It's going to be my review of not only the special that ran last night on NBC, but Saturday Night Live 50 years. And you'll be surprised by what I say. But we want you to sign up for our YouTube channel. That's important to us. So if you would do that, we will, we will reward you. You'll find it interesting. So I watched the show last night, and I appeared on Saturday Night Live in a skit, 13 years ago tomorrow. Okay, that's not me, that's Steve Martin, okay, Bill Murray. So I appeared on February 18, 2012, if you want to look it up. It's funny, I'll tell you about it and more to tell.
Starting point is 00:39:23 But last night I thought it was a pretty good show, but I don't really care about the show. I care about the legacy of satire. We need satire in this country. Now, Saturday Night Live started off. wasn't that political. It's always a liberal show because New York City is liberal. The entertainment industry is liberal. So it's always liberal. But in 1975, when it came on, Belushi and Akroyd and Radner and all those people, they were in business to make you laugh. They weren't in business to make points. Over the years, it really stayed a satirical
Starting point is 00:39:57 program until Trump. Boom. Then it went far left. Okay. Even though Trump hosted in 2015, He hosted the show. He got big numbers. But once the Trump thing started, Saturday Night Live, then went and hurt itself dramatically. I think Lauren Michaels, who I know, and he's a genius. Michael's a genius. Tough guy. I think he knows because last night in the three and a half hours, very little politics, very little.
Starting point is 00:40:36 a Trump impersonation. And they did funny impersonations at Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, George Bush the Younger, and the Elder, Obama. They were on it. But we need laughs in this country. And that is the worthiness of Saturday Night Live. And I'll get into it in micro detail on YouTube. But I respect the program. And they wanted me to host it, but I just couldn't break away from Fox because if you host a show got to be there for six days and I just couldn't but I did the skit for them and I enjoyed it very much and thank you for watching and listening tonight we've got a very action-packed week for you we'll see you tomorrow
