Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey Bill O'Reilly here. Welcome to the No Spin News. Wednesday, August 7, 2004, Stand Up for Your Country. So I'm going to get right into our election coverage, it's what everybody wants these days. And I think we have the best coverage in the world of the American electorate, you know, I may be bragging a little bit, but I'm always open if you see something that's not fair or if we misstate or something like that, you let me know,
Starting point is 00:00:41 and we'll give you the address later on. So the battle lines of the vote in November are now clearly drawn. Everything is in place, and that is a subject of this evening's talking points memo. So as we reported yesterday, Kamala Harris is fronting me, Governor Walls of Minnesota, is a mirror of her. And it's exactly the same thing as what Trump did. So J.D. Vance is mini-me, although I think he's bigger than Trump, to Trump, and Walsh's mini-mee with a gender difference to Kamala. All right. So there it is. and it's the far left versus libertarian capitalism.
Starting point is 00:01:29 I'll define that a little bit, but that's what it is. The race is in between Trump and Harris. It's not what the vote is about in November. Americans will decide exactly what kind of a country we will have in the short term. You can just plug different people in. It could be Bernie Sanders against Marco Rubio. Now, that's what Americans have to zero in on. Okay, you are voting for a style of government, not an individual.
Starting point is 00:02:03 People don't have no clue about that, but let me back it up. Okay, so Trump, if he wins, will run the country the way he did from 217 to 21. One. Low inflation, growth, real wages up about 7%. Deal after deal after deal, after deal, overseas tariffs to punish countries he believes are ripping us off. Conservative social pronouncements. He's not a culture warrior Donald Trump, but he'll take the mag aside because that's his base. That's how Trump will govern. Kamala Harris will try to change everything about American society. There's nothing traditional that she respects. Nothing. Therefore, the Harris Wall's ticket is the most leftist presidential duo in history by far. Second George
Starting point is 00:03:05 McGovern Sergeant Shriver, the Kennedy brother-in-law, 1972. Nixon waxed them. Far different country back then, as everybody knows. But it was a stunning landslide for Nixon, who was a conservative. I don't think the landslide's going to happen this time around. Now, Harris Walls, no matter what they say, and they'll say anything, and so will Trump vans. They'll say anything. You can't just believe it. So Harris Walls, if they win, everybody's taxes go up.
Starting point is 00:03:44 up. And they'll say, oh, no, people earning $400,000 or less. Not going to, BS, the biggest BS in the world, because they'll try to slap taxes on corporations who immediately turn around and charge us more for their products. It's exactly what's going to happen. That's what the insurance agencies have done under Biden. That's what car prices, home prices, everything up. And there are are no limits to what Harris Walls will do. Do you realize the state of Minnesota, which I know pretty well, so I spent some time up in the boundary waters up by International Falls, the state of Minnesota is a rural state, only one big city, Minneapolis, St. Paul. Fifth highest tax burden in the country, fifth highest under walls. He taxes everything.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Oh, I'm a regular guy. I got my little cap on. He'll pick your pocket all day long, Mawls. Don't give me any of that, you phony. You are the biggest tax expender. He came in with almost $3 billion in surplus. Gone.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Every liberal cause of this, free this, free that. Everything is picked up in Minnesota if you're an undocumented album. It's worth your while not to. to go to Mexico, go to Canada, get a canoe, and row over to Minnesota, because you'll get everything free, plus a driver's license. Okay? Harris Walls, open borders all day long, legalization for every undocumented here, that's who they are. In addition, DEI, diversity, equity, inclusion, all day long, skin, color. will matter in the employment area.
Starting point is 00:05:49 Awful. All right? Woke. Oh, man. If you're conservative, you're not going to get due process. No way. No way on earth you will. Okay?
Starting point is 00:06:01 And no restrictions on abortions up until birth. Three countries in the world, as I've reported, have it. Three non-communist nations. The Netherlands. Singapore. and Canada. That's it. Every other country on a planet goes, no, that's too barbaric to be killing an unborn child
Starting point is 00:06:27 a week before it's supposed to be birthed. We have to regulate that. Not them, not walls, he signed the law in Minnesota. Okay? Less police power. Reimagining the police. Both of them want to do it. Okay?
Starting point is 00:06:47 They don't want the police to have much power at all. Fewer guns, even though Wallace is a hunter. He's spinned 180 degrees, and now he'll confiscate if he can. Okay? On and on and on and on. There isn't one far left tenant, not one, including wealth tax, all of that, that these two don't support. So I'm watching a rally in Philadelphia, and these people, What are you applauding for?
Starting point is 00:07:20 What exactly what is what I just laid out? That's okay with you? And the answer is, yeah. Millions of Americans want a colossal government to tell them what to do every day and to give them money. That's what it comes down to. These people, oh, the system's really.
Starting point is 00:07:44 rigged, I'm black, I can't get ahead, I'm this, I'm that, I'm trans, I'm that, I'm that, boom, give me money. And that's what the far left does. Income redistribution. That's what they're cheering for. That's cheering for Walls and people don't know where he is. In Philadelphia last night. Kamala Harris is dangerous. Walls is dangerous. The danger team Okay. So if you vote for Trump and the Republicans, you are voting not for the man, Trump. Because believe me, as I have reported, sometimes you just have to shake your head. I think President Trump did a good job in his term. But stuff he says, can't defend it. Can't defend it. Okay? But you are voting to keep the American.
Starting point is 00:08:44 American system in place. That's what you're voting for if you vote GOP. If you vote Democrat, you want to blow it all up. And again, millions of people want to blow it all up. So, I don't know how the election is going to go. I just don't know. The debate will be huge. Because if Trump does manage to define how
Starting point is 00:09:14 dangerous Kamala Harris is. Forget about Walls. Walls, it doesn't matter. Then he'll win. And I guess I am so egomaniacal. O'Reilly, egomaniacal. I would love to be on that stage with Kamala Harris or Walls. I would love to be there to represent you. And even if you like them. Because I, boy, because I know what they are, what they've done. No small ball, no skin color stuff. No master sergeant command master sergeant. None of that BS. That doesn't matter. Read my message of the day. All right. I just tick it off on bill o'Reilly.com, which is open to everybody. The final thing is that the media is thrown in with the leftist. I know it's inexplicable. I know it. But these people are so fanatically ideological and they hate Trump
Starting point is 00:10:18 to a level that no president other than Abraham Lincoln has ever been hated. If Trump is going to be controversial, but I believe it's true. If Trump were killed in Butler, You think a lot of those people will be grieving? Okay. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets. And meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold. That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver through the only dealer I trust, American Hartford gold.
Starting point is 00:11:10 and you can do this. Get precious metals delivered to your door or place in a tax advantage, gold IRA. They'll even help you roll over your existing IRA or 401K, tax and penalty-free. With billions in precious metals delivered thousands of five-star reviews and an A-plus from the Better Business Bureau, you can trust American Hartford Gold as I do.

Our democracy is fine. We're going to vote. Okay, personal freedom versus colossal government. But millions of Americans want the colossal government. And the press is going to push that all day long. And that is the memo. That is 11 minutes and 15 seconds. You can get a transcript if you're Bill O'Reilly.com, concierge is a premium member. You should. Okay, schedule today, Harris and Walls are in Wisconsin and Michigan, of course, wing states, giving speeches, shaking hands, yay, yay, yay, yay. I got to go to one of the things just, and with a camera, and just go, what are you cheering
Starting point is 00:13:18 for exactly, madam? I'll ask the people who are in the arena, what are you cheering for? Trump, I didn't have anything on a schedule, but he did call in to Fox and Friends, roll it. Nobody knew how radical left she was, but he's a smarter version of her, if you want to know the truth. He's probably about the same as Bernie Sanders. He's probably more so than Bernie Sanders. She is more so than Bernie Sanders. That's got to be your guide, Bernie Sanders. And that's not a great guide. But there's never been a ticket like this. This is a ticket that would
Starting point is 00:13:52 want this country to go communist immediately. No, that's an exaggeration. He was on the right track. Now, if he said socialist immediately, you can defend it. Remember, socialists do not seize private property. They have a big colossal government. It tells you what to do. It gives you cradle to grave entitlements. Okay, you want to see socialism in action. Go to Sweden. All right. Communism, the boot jacks march in you're out of your house i'm taking that car fidel i've been to cuba you can't have property there that's communist so if trump said socialist okay communist exaggeration um where's joe biden anybody know i think he's he's napping somewhere and i'm not saying that to be disparaging i wish i were napping
Starting point is 00:14:57 but he's disappeared and nobody knows where joe is i don't even know if joe knows where he is but we have nothing report on joe okay so uh walls uh patriot you can be a patriot and a far left guy at the same time all right so personal attacks on walls are useless and a people that do them are dumb we're not going to do that here so walls served his country National Guard, okay? Then he was a teacher, he's a football coach, family man, no personal attacks. You don't need it. The way he's governed is he's a far-level loon. That's who he is. Now, loon is, you know, that's not a personal attack. That's a description of your political posture. Okay. All right, so I lost some respect for Wall. So, last.
Starting point is 00:15:57 night in Philadelphia. Go. Like all regular people I grew up with in the Heartland, J.D. studied at Yale, had his career funded by Silicon Valley billionaires, and then wrote a bestseller trashing that community. Come on! That's not what middle America is. And I gotta tell you, I can't wait to debate the guy. That is, if he's willing to get off the couch and show up.
Starting point is 00:16:24 The get off the couch thing was defamation, and I've lost a lot of respect for Governor Walls. I didn't disrespect or respect them because I don't know him, but a demented social media person made up a story about Senator Vance that involved the couch. I'm not going to tell you the story because it's obscene. and put it out, and many progressives ran with the story, including Governor Walls. Cheap, Todd Tree, I lost a lot of respect for him, because he knows the story was debunked. It was debunked right away, and he did it anyway.
Starting point is 00:17:15 There you go. All right, now the polls are tied. Real clear, average got Harris at 47. 74, trumpet 469, every poll comes in, it's this, a stat. Let's just say it's tied. Joining us now from Alexandria, Virginia, it is Dustin Olson. He's a poster for American Pulse Research and polling. They work for both Republicans and Democrats.
Starting point is 00:17:42 And he hosts a podcast, Political Trade Secrets. Oh, we love that. We love trade secrets on this program. Okay. So you just did a poll, American Pulse, right? 1,035 likely voters, and likely voters is the category you should be in. Republican 40, Democrat 37, independent, 20, fair sampling. And the first question was this.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Would you say the country is generally headed in the right or wrong direction? Right direction 27, wrong 58. So if that's the case, Dustin, 58 to 27, how can how can Harris, be tied with Trump. It's really quite amazing. Actually, I've been going through the summer and as a pollster and you're tracking things, starting actually with the Manhattan conviction
Starting point is 00:18:32 and then ending up with the debate and then with the assassination attempt and with R&C and then Biden dropping out. There's been so many historic things. It's really been very difficult to actually pull and not have your poll completely thrown out. So after about a week of Kamala Harris being in the race, we thought we'd go into the field
Starting point is 00:18:50 and see just kind of, where the American people has ended up. And one thing that's clear to me that has had an impact is her favorability. Actually, about a month ago, she was less popular than both Biden and Trump. And she's now more popular than both of them. Biden hasn't changed much. Trump has actually increased his favorability ever since the assassination attempt. But she's had a really big bump.
Starting point is 00:19:13 And I do think it's largely based off of the fawning media coverage. In our survey, we track where people get their news. And if you look at kind of the legacy media, it makes up about 50% of the electorate gets their information from there. And I think that's largely what it was. Also, it's a contrast. You look at Joe Biden, where he was a month ago, we were starting to see the bottom fallout. And you had states like New Hampshire, New Mexico, Minnesota, Virginia that were starting to come into play. And if that happened, it would have been a whack-a-mole scenario for the Democrats where they just couldn't have kept.
Starting point is 00:19:51 up with all these competitive states and ultimately having somebody who wasn't Biden was a big contrast for Democrats and I do see some intensity and energy back with Democrats as well as the improved favorability which is a as a pollster we think that's fairly predictive as to where things are going okay I would expect you to have a little I think that's logical but I think you're leaving out the skin color vote potentially in our survey 22.3% of African-Americans are supporting Donald Trump, which I was quite shocked at, actually, post-Kamal Harris joined the race. So Harris coming up in the favorability zone, who has shifted into her liking her more than they did?
Starting point is 00:20:44 It's not people of color? Yeah. So there's going to be some of that, though we also had Hispanic, were Trump's winning by 5%. And we really worked hard to have a representative sample of minorities. I think it's largely people that weren't really participating that are now more energized. Also, you have postgraduates who were pretty postgraduate. Anybody who has anything above a college degree,
Starting point is 00:21:11 that's where a lot of the intensity is for her. And they seem to be jazzed up about it. I don't want to get too technical about it. But the surge, I think, has two or three points of skin color voting in it. Now, I'd love to see a survey on whether Americans understand what Kamala Harris is promoting. See, my theory is they don't understand what this Harris Walls ticket is. They couldn't understand it if, as I spelled out my talking points memo, it's so bad for the working-class family and for individual freedom.
Starting point is 00:21:55 I mean, it's off the chart bad. When you're the governor of Minnesota and most of your constituency are working-class farming people, and you're the fifth highest-taxed state union? It's just inconceivable. And I don't think most people understand that. I don't want to be arrogant about it, but the dumb vote, I think, is more substantial than it's ever been. modern history. Potentially, I, you know, when it comes to policy, and I think I've seen you talk about
Starting point is 00:22:28 this quite a bit, really Republicans should be focused on policy. We tracked, you know, inflation in the economy, immigration on the border, also abortion. And really on the first two issues, inflation and immigration, Donald Trump has a majority of Americans trusting him better to handle that over Kamala Harris. just let me give you the data to the folks that you assembled so uh who do you trust better to handle the economy and inflation trump 51 harris 45 that's a pretty high number for harris though i mean if people are paying 20 25 percent more now than they did when trump was in office for essentials then you have uh securing the border trump 54 harris 42 now this is this is the
Starting point is 00:23:18 number that comes into play in the dumb vote. Kamala Harris is not going to secure the border, ever. She's going to let all these foreign nationals in, and the American taxpayer is going to pick up their education, health, and welfare costs. And 42% of Americans don't know that. Yeah. Well, it's interesting on the immigration issue. We also ask the question about people's approval of the Biden-Harris administration on the border. And the disapproval is higher than the support for Trump handling that, which tells me that there is a difference between that they've been able to give himself enough daylight between the Biden-Harris administration and the Harris
Starting point is 00:24:06 candidacy. And I do think there's going to be a closing of that difference. But right now they've given themselves enough daylight that she can kind of start fresh. The media is giving it to them. They haven't given themselves. The media is peddling these lies that, you know, Harris did X, Y, and Z. Final thing you have is foreign policy. Trump 49, Harris, 47.
Starting point is 00:24:28 So we had no wars of any, you know, consequence under Trump four years. Now we've got Ukraine, Middle East, blowing up, Afghanistan embarrassment, all under Trump Harris. And 47% of it, half the people think that the Democrats do a bit of job in foreign policy, Again, this is the only explanation is the dumb vote. I don't think there's any other explanation on earth, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Well, I think it's largely based on the media. Your media gives you your reality for the most part. And if half of America is getting their media from sources that are telling them that she's great,
Starting point is 00:25:11 she'll be great on foreign policy, she'll be great on the economy, et cetera, they're going to start moving in that direction. Now, one thing that I found extremely fascinating from our poll, we decided to ask people about the cognitive cover-up, the idea that the Biden, Paris, White House, and their allies in the media have been covering up the cognitive decline of the president for the last few years. And 61% of people said that they agreed with that idea, and even 47% strongly agreed with it, which my hope is that gives some sense that maybe people are seeing behind the curtain and just how a lot of this. impacts public opinion and how the country is being run, and that ultimately this could actually be a pretty big factor in the election. All right. When is your next survey?
Starting point is 00:25:59 We'll do another one in August, late August, to see how things go after the DNC, and I think that's going to be the next big move in the campaign. Well, we'll definitely, I'm going to be off the last week in August, but as soon as I get back after Labor Day, we get you on, and we really appreciate it to us, and thanks to our time today. Right. Thank you. Power, politics, and the people behind the headlines. I'm Miranda Devine, New York Post columnist, and the host of the brand new podcast, Podforce One.
Starting point is 00:26:31 Every week, I'll sit down for candid conversations with Washington's most powerful disruptors, lawmakers, newsmakers, and even the president of the United States. These are the leaders shaping the future of America and the world. Listen to Podforce One with me, Miranda Devine, every week on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. You don't want to miss an episode. Hey, I'm Caitlin Becker, the host of the New York Postcast, and I've got exactly what you need to start your weekdays. Every morning, I'll bring you the stories that matter, plus the news people actually talk about. The juicy details in the world's politics, business, pop culture, and everything in between.
Starting point is 00:27:16 It's what you want from the New York Post. wrapped up in one snappy show. Ask your smart speaker to play the NY Postcast podcast. Listen and subscribe on Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Okay, the squad's falling apart. These are the radical left House of Representatives members. So Cory Bush got whacked in the primary. Her district is in eastern Missouri, our first congressional district.
Starting point is 00:27:44 All right, there it is. St. Louis County. She got blasted by the county prosecutor Wesley Bell. So she's gone. Cory Booker. I am sorry. Corey Bush. Cory Booker is still around the Senate.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Cory Bush is gone. And in case you don't know who she is, roll the tape. You know, let me tell you, it's not surprising because this place is where 1700 members of Congress, this elected body enslaved black people. It's not surprising because they thought it was right. It's not surprising because this is a place where members continue to claim that the insurrection on the Capitol just appear to look like a normal tourist visit. I'm sorry to laugh, but she's out. So she joins Jamal Bowman, New York.
Starting point is 00:28:33 He got booted. He's another squad member. Alexander Ocasio Costez, Alexandria, is safe because she's in a district in the Bronx where I don't. I'm not going to look down on the district, but let's just say, I'm adding the bottom. She's safe. Okay, California, which is Kamala Harris, wants to make America, California. That's what you want. So they passed a minimum wage law, $20 an hour.
Starting point is 00:29:10 You're fast food, you're anything. deli, car wash, 20 bucks an hour, plus tips, plus whatever. So what has happened? One of the unintended consequences? 98% of California fast food restaurants hiked prices, 98% according to the Employment Policies Institute. So they're prices, and they hiked them bigger than the minimum wage hike. So who does that hurt? the poor, all right, who go to, and I'm generalizing now, but they buy from the lower
Starting point is 00:29:51 priced establishments. It hurts. Not only that, 73% of fast food locations had reduced employee hours. So, yeah, you're getting you $20, but instead of working 35 hours a week, you're working 25 hours. And 70% have outright cut people. Bye. We can't afford you. This is what socialism brings. An imposed wage brings poverty.
Starting point is 00:30:24 Just go to Havana. You gotta go to Montreal, get on a plane, and fly down there. Take a look. I did. Smart Life. So I am overwhelmed with mail from all over the world, and I like that. That's a good thing. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. I throw some of the mail away because you don't have a name and a town on it,
Starting point is 00:30:50 which you have to have to be considered. I can't, it's hard enough for me to read the mail, and I got people helping me to do it. All right. Now, there's a theme emerging in the mail to Bill O'Reilly.com. And it's anxiety. anxiety. There are a lot of people who are afraid. So I got a concierge male the other day from a
Starting point is 00:31:16 75-year-old woman who has some assets, but she's afraid that the government is going to take them away from her. So she's asking me if she should take her money out of the bank. And I said, no, that's crazy. Got to be in an FDIC insured bank. Okay? But no, don't do that because the wealth tax is going to be very hard to get passed. Harris will try if she wins. But I think the Supreme Court will blunt, which is why Harris and walls want to pack the court. That's why they want to. Much easier to impose socialism. But anyway, the elderly woman, I hope that I calmed her down. So I am seeing a rise in anxiety over this election.
Starting point is 00:32:10 That is why the concierge membership to Bill O'Reilly.com is becoming a must for a lot of people. If you have a personal circumstance that you are worried about, you tell me what it is, and I will advise you. I can't give you financial advice or medical advice. I'm not an accountant, and I'm not a doctor. Tell you what I would do. All right? So, smart life. We're giving you this opportunity. It costs a little bit of money, but you make it back if you give anybody a present because you get huge discounts on all of our stuff. I have tried to make this a fail safe, all right, where you don't lose any money, but you gain a year's worth of premium or concierge membership. Smart life. Growing number of adults say they don't want kids, all right?
Starting point is 00:33:05 This comes from Pew Research. And under 50 Americans, under 50 years old, 57%. They don't want them. That's a lot. They don't want them. All right. They think they're going to be a hindrance to their economic welfare. They'd rather concentrate on other things.
Starting point is 00:33:31 that's a personal decision should be no derision in the decision you don't want kids that's good because you don't want to have a child who you're not going to care for the most important thing on earth you have them you've got to give them everything okay uh but that's the trend stay in history uh august 7 2005 ABC news anchorman peter jenning dies at age 67 from lung cancer Now, some of you know, I was a friend of Peter Jennings. I worked with him for two years, 1986 to 1988, I believe it was. And here's a clip of that. In New Jersey today, four teenagers, including two sisters, committed suicide together.
Starting point is 00:34:24 In a moment, we'll talk to the woman who runs the Youth Suicide National Center. But first, ABC's Bill O'Reilly. All four of the deceased teenagers had at one time attended Bergenfield High School. Three had dropped out. One was suspended. Authorities say that in the last year four other teenagers had either committed suicide or died under mysterious circumstances in and around this community. Boy, I had quite a change in any way.
Starting point is 00:34:49 I appeared on World News tonight more than 100 times in two years. That includes a weekend additions. And that was a turning point in my career. Okay. So I'm a cocky guy, a swagger guy. And the network news does not like that. But Jennings did. And Jennings protected me from the hooligans at ABC News who would destroy you in a heartbeat. And that's what network news is. You saw Nora O'Donnell at CBS get it in the neck. All right. It's a ruthless game. And I'll never forget that. I have lots and lots of conversations with Peter Jennings. And he was a liberal man, but he never let that intrude on his presentation, his news presentation. And then when I left and I took over at Fox News, he would call me like every two weeks. I couldn't say that. I said, yeah, I know, I'm an analyst now. I'm not a reporter anymore. But thanks to you, I was able to elevate myself into
