Hey, Bill O'Reilly here. Welcome to the No Spin News for Wednesday, December 17th, 2020, stand-up for your country. Big presidential address tonight. We'll get to that in a moment. There is a report in the New York Times that assistant FBI chief Dan Bongino. is out. I need to check this. I check everything because I never take a report that I see in broadcast it on the air. We always have to check beyond the scenes. I believe this is true, and I'll have the facts for you tomorrow, but I want to have 100% certainty. As you know,

Mr. Bongino and I are not on the same wavelength. I didn't think this was. going to work out, but I don't really care about it. I told you so at this point in history. If he's leaving, it's an interesting story about why, right? So again, we will have all of that tomorrow. Talking points, Memo tonight is President Trump's speech, 9 p.m. Eastern, diplomatic reception room at the White House.

Very important speech for the president. And very simple reason is polling numbers are going down. And the Republican Party is very concerned, very concerned about it. So the president, according to Caroline Levitt, his press secretary, is going to discuss his accomplishments, and they've been many. If you want to be honest about it, though his first year, he's done a lot of good things. He's going to run him down. But that sends the message that the speech this evening will be targeted to his supporters and Republicans.

He's not trying to persuade people who don't like him or even independents who are shaky to come join him in the next three years. He's trying to prop up his base. Okay? So we expect a long speech, that's President Trump's style, and a lot of stuff about, you know, we've done this, We've done that. Biden is dumb. Biden was a jerk. You know, okay.

I hope it isn't too repetitive because then viewers will tune out. I'd like people to watch it. Americans, all Americans, to watch the speech. Then you make up your own mind. And write me a letter, bill at bill o'Reilly.com. After the speech, bill at bill o'Reilly. Okay, give me your reaction. I'll report it tomorrow.

All right. So the president is scheduled to get down to Maulago on Friday and stay there until Sunday. January 4th. Now, people go, that's a long vacation. It's not a vacation. He's got his office down there. He'll be working a lot of time. I know President Trump pretty well. He just said take vacation. He'll play golf. He'll do that. But the president is a workaholic. I think that is accurate. Okay, so if I were writing this speech for President Trump, I would list accomplishments, but that wouldn't be the dominant part of the speech.

I zero in on, look, here's the problem. We have high food prices, beach prices. Now, we're getting a lot of the food prices down, give some examples, eggs, things like that. But here's what we're going to do to get the meat down. Boom, boom, boom. Two, three things. Then insurance, that is really the kill. When you talk about that cliche affordability, that's what's really.

really gutting working men and women who have to pay their mortgages and their utilities and they have to eat and they have to gas up their car and they have to have leisure activities. Some of them are paying for education. When you see the graph for how much the house and car and health insurance are charging us, it is staggering over the last five years. That's big. And President Trump has got to go in. And he's got to say to these companies, look, either you moderate it or we're going to open it up across state lines. We're going to make it much easier for insurance companies to compete. That's what you should do anyway.

But immediately, you get those premiums down if you make the threat. So that would be a big part of a speech I would write. It's all about problem solving. It's not about Trump's style or anything like that. although the Reiner thing hurt him. But people will forget that. But they're not going to forget what they're paying because that is something they have to deal with.

A lot of Americans in debt. A lot of Americans don't like to buy a new car or maybe a new house. And interest rates are coming down, home mortgage rates. So more methodical, less emotional, less repetition. I'm the speech writer. That's what I'm doing. Now, how this works is the speech writer gives a first, what they call a first draft to the president.

And like Barack Obama, okay, Donald Trump is very active in wording. Okay, so he takes a big part in that. He changes, he edits, he does this, make suggestions about ads, all that. Obama did the same thing. Biden didn't do any of that. whatever they put in front of Biden, and Biden read. And he didn't read it well. Okay?

So Trump's involved with that. Now, one last thing. The demeanor situation. President Trump is not going to change. All right? He has been elected twice to the highest office in a land with no political experience. And it is a stunning historical achievement. Stunning.

done before. And he did it on bombast. He did it on attacking the system and his opponents. Okay? So he's not going to change. But he has to think about what the repercussions of what he does on social media might be. I don't, I would never say, hey, Mr. Trump, you have to change. That would be ridiculous. But when you're dealing with, uh, a celebrity who gets his throat cut and his wife, the same circumstance, by their own son. Stay away. Don't say anything. Now, I understand why the president does what he does, because I went through maybe 15% of what President Trump has gone through.

My family was attacked. I was attacked. To this day, everybody knows me in the country. If I go certain places, I have to have security. because I don't want to be assassinated like Charlie Kirk. I don't want to be attacked. Certainly I don't want my family in jeopardy. So I understand the anger the president has, and it's legitimate anger.

I mean, just last night, the senator from Iowa, Charles Grassley, put out a report that backs up. The FBI had no probable cause under Biden to raid Ma Lago on the classified document thing. None. They did it anyway. And they only did it to embarrass Donald Trump, to give him hardship. Now, you add that by a thousand. You're going to be bitter. I have a list. I do. I'll admit it. I have a list of names of people have hurt me and my family. And if I could, I would visit those people. And I wouldn't bring you. bringing Christmas presents if you get my drift. But that would hurt my family if I did that. Okay? It would make the situation worse. Now, if I get an opportunity to write the wrong,

I'll do it. Absolutely going to do it. None of those people have ever apologized or asked for forgiveness, ever. Okay, they just do bad things. And not just to me. They do bad things. set the table for tonight's presidential address. Roll it. It was the third day in the White House, and some reporter said, what are you doing about the price of eggs? Haven't you seen they're so expensive? And the president's like, lady, we've been here for three. days. It takes a little bit of time to fix something that was so fundamentally broken. And so when I hear the Democrats talk about the affordability crisis that they created, it's a little

bit like, you know, Charles Manson criticizing violent crime. That is true, but it doesn't help you, Mr. Vice President, because people live in the moment. They know Biden was a screw up. They know he had no control over what was happening in the country. Any intelligence and America knows that, even if you're a Democrat liberal. You know it. The facts back it up. But if that's the centerpiece, it doesn't do you any good. What you have to say is here's where we are in the moment, December 2025, the new year coming. Here's what we're going to do in this 2006 cycle. That could move the polls. But Trump, Well, and that's the memo.

I will be on News Nation tonight discussing all of this at 8 o'clock with Chris Cuomo, so I hope you tune in for that. Also today, President Trump, to his great credit, went to Dover, Delaware to participate in the dignified transfer, they call it, of two American National Guard members killed in Syria. People don't understand we still have U.S. forces in northern Syria and western Iraq because that's where ISIS is. ISIS is a force it used to be, but it's still there. And we're still hunting them. So two Americans, Sergeant Edgar Torres Tovar, 25 years old,

and Sergeant William Howard, 29, both of Iowa, National Guard, attached the first squadron, 113th Cav, were killed. And so was the terrorists who murdered them. So President went from Washington to Dover to console their families. President Trump has been very good about this, which is why he got an excellent reception at the Army-Navy football game,

if you watched it last weekend, from both sides. And of course, the press will never mention anything positive about that. Join us now from Tennessee is a poster who works for the Republican National Committee, John McLaughlin. Mr. McLaughlin, you've seen him before on the NOSPN.

It was very accurate in his assessment, we believe, and we're pretty tough on the check-on his stuff. So why, specifically, is President Trump losing ground in a polling? I think he's

He's focused on government, not in political campaign. So when we had his campaign, by the way, you and I saw him on September 11th at Yankee Stadium. And he asked about his poll numbers that night. And he said, do I have my, he said, we have my highest job rating ever. I said, no. I said, you had your highest job rating ever on the night that you were elected president again in November of 24. And January, it was high. But through the year, you get consumed with running the government instead of

running a political campaign. And he's done a lot. He's passed his tax cuts. The economy's starting to percolate again. He's done what he needs to do to lay a foundation so that the Republicans can be successful in the midterms. But the big problem we're going to have is Trump got 77 million Trump voters out out of 156 million voters who showed up on election day. But what we're seeing through the course of 2025 is special elections, other elections, New Jersey, Virginia. The Trump voters aren't coming out as heavy as they did when he was on the ballot and the Republicans don't have the same kind of feel for the issues that Trump does over the campaigns. So we've got to get Trump back out on the road. And tonight,

but there is disenchantment, according to your own poll, John, taken in mid-November, direction of the USA, right direction, 38, wrong 56. And also in that poll, independent voters not aligned with either the Democrats or Republicans are turning against President Trump. What's the main reason for the disenchantment? First of all, he doesn't have an opponent. Like when he was running against, when he was running during the election, we had Joe Biden. Right now he needs to take on Chuck Schumer. He needs to take on leader, leader Jeffries of the Democrats.

Also, people like Mondani and the Democrats, we need an opponent. He's talked about having a convention in the midterms where all the Republicans can sign on to his agenda, whether it's holding down the price of food, housing, health care, or interest rates. He needs to go after the Democrats. You know, when they talk about affordability, in Nassau County, where you live, the Republicans, we gave no quarter to the Democrats because they wanted higher taxes. We wanted lower taxes. How can Democrats who talk about affordability have any credibility when they want to raise your taxes? And every Democrat for Congress and Senate voted against the Trump tax cuts, which would raise taxes $2,000 or $3,000 per person across the United States. And the media lets it go, but the Republicans, if they don't pick up on that, they're foolish.

But that's all policy. What people are reacting to is a motion. They're looking at their household finances and they're going, I can't, we can't pay these insurance. We can't pay the price of beef. Now, look, I'm a realist. I don't buy the beef. I buy chicken or fish or pasta, whatever it may be. I mean, I go in, I look at the price. If the price is too high, buy something else.

That's the beauty of America. We don't have any food shortage here. We have plenty of stuff. Okay. But people are reacting emotionally to what they believe is danger to their own personal finance, and they don't see President Trump as solving that problem at least yet. Would that be a fair statement? That's fair, but it's not quite fair because we have political opponents and Democrats

who lead to those policies that, you know, President Trump has cut the price of gas. You've seen that. Yeah. When you were talking about beef or some of these food products, we're still trying to fight off the policies that the Democrats want to keep in place from Joe Biden. When you talk about the price of health care, they don't want to reform Obamacare where the premiums have gone up. They want to continue the health care tax credits to subsidize the insurance companies, but they don't want the insurance companies to lower their premiums. So we have to fight for those things, and it's a debate. So when you talk about emotion, a campaign is based on a motion, it's based on a political debate. I don't think, you know, you and I are disagreeing here, and one of the rare times, by the way,

I don't think that the average American is going to take all that into account. It's a simple equation for most people. President Trump promised to bring prices down. Right. Prices aren't down for my insurance and they're not down for certain food that I want. So I'm going to give the other guys a shot. That happened in the first term, Trump's first term. He lost 41 seats, Republicans did, in the House.

It's all a motion. So what I'm saying to you is that President Trump is a master at this. Should it campaign on a motion, yes. Say what you just said. Look, the Democrats messes the whole thing up, but here's my solution coming to you shortly and then list the solution. Wouldn't that be the way to do it? That's very good advice, but we do have to have a good campaign is based on two sides

in the debate. And Trump will lay out his, he'll do it tonight, he'll keep doing it, We're older in the year, but on the other side, to get the voters out, to win among the voters, we have to expose the Democrats. It has to be a contrast. Okay. There's no way we do this by ourselves. But I don't know how effective that's going to be. And let me give you another historical example.

Obama tried that. It is midterm, second term. He tried that. And he got whacked because it was emotion. They didn't feel that Barack Obama was running a country well. And he waxed them. All right. Anyway, last question, demeanor.

So, as I said, the president is not going to change. But at this point, some of the things that he says on social media seem to be hurting him. Am I wrong? Well, it is when he's, by the way, I want to go back to that point. You know, the same poll you're referring to, Chuck Schumer is the 31 favorable and 44 unfairable. Donald Trump had a job approval of 50 to 46. Why aren't we taking on Chuck Schumer every day that they try to stop us from? Because people don't know who he is.

They don't know. If you walk out in the mall right now and you stop people outside of New York State, say Mississippi or, you know, Michigan. And you go, hey, what do you think is Chuck Schumer? I don't know. nationally, his number is 44 unfavorable. Almost half of America. Don't like them. Only three out of ten do.

That's a national survey. But you know what? It's incumbent on us to run the campaign on Donald Trump's accomplishments versus. How about demeanor? How about demeanor? Demeter, he's best when he's fighting. He's best when he has an opponent. And the Democrats, if they want to stop us from lowering interest rates,

lowering the cost of housing, lowering the cost of food, lowering the price of gas, we should have that fight. We shouldn't back off and we should let Donald Trump go back at it and go back at it. Get outside the Beltway. Do rallies again. See real people. Talk to real people again. That's when Donald Trump's is best.

All right. So you want a brawl in 26. You know them very well. Yeah. All right. And I think that's what you're going to get. I think that's what you're going to get. Hey, John, Merry Christmas.

It just makes me almost ill right now because I've been a journalist for more than 50 years to watch what's happening. And I say, you know, I think about this. lot because it's my profession and I've done very well with it um but I'm saying to myself why do I want to give these people any credibility at all I don't I don't so after the Rob Reiner social media stuff they couldn't wait and not only on the left but you saw it on the right too couldn't wait get out there oh look I don't know anybody justifying. And I'm not even talking about the Reiner's specifically, but Charlie Kirk,

anybody who's the victim of a catastrophe, anybody, silence, and then support the family. That's it. So I'm not going to run that for you. I will tell you that the son who killed his parents, 32-year-old Nick Reiner, arraigned today, first-degree murder, no bail. He's been taking narcotics for more than 15 years. He is an evil man, in addition to being a drug addict, and a combination is devastating. So if you are evil, and there are 15, 20 percent of human beings born evil, they're evil. And you can't explain it. And as I write in my book Confronting Evil, I'm the expert on evil now.

In Genesis, there's a story of Canaan Abel. And it's in that Old Testament for a reason to signal to people reading the Bible in the first book that evil will always be with us. And it's a choice. And this guy, Nick Reiner, is evil. don't do what he did. There's no excuse. There's no psychosis. Is he sick? Yeah, he's sick. And if you are a substance abuse addict and you're evil, and you combine the two, then you're out of control. Okay, then, you know, there are a lot of drug addicts who aren't bad people. They're weak. Yeah, they're responsible for their actions, but they're weak. They're not evil people.

this nick riner's evil okay and i have kids i'm going you know whoa what do you do there been movies made about you know the bad seed or the village or the damned and these kids are just evil and i never really saw it up close all the kids in my neighborhood i'm evil there or when my kids have had their friends. I didn't seem evil. If I saw a troubled kid, then I would step in. But Nick Reiner? So let's call it what it is, all right? And he wanted to kill himself, Nick Reiner, and he just did it this way. I want to take his parents with him. And I'll give you one more on a, because a lot of people deal with substance abuse in their families and friends and all that. The person who becomes

addicted to alcohol drugs is self-loathing. They hate themselves. And they act out in so many ways to punish other people because they are so miserable. People don't devote their lives to getting intoxicated if you're happy, if you're positive, if you're good and doing worthwhile things. You don't do that. You only go over to the dark side. of drugs and alcohol if you're miserable and then some people make mistakes and then they go I want to get out of this and I respect those people and I help them if I can okay but a lot of them they hate themselves so much that they're willing to hurt other people with impunity time after time after time

American Dream, it cost almost $2 million to pursue it, according to J.G. Wentworth, a financial services company. That means the average American, if you want to prosper throughout your life, you have to spend $2 million on you. And I think that's about right. getting educated, building up a responsible lifestyle, buying a home, educating your children, keeping yourself fit, getting good doctors and things like that, cost about $2 million to do it. Obviously, it's worth the investment because it pays off way more than that. But that's a lot of money. The most expensive place in the country to pursue happiness, the American dream they call it.

It's Hawaii by far. Because it's way out there and everything's important. The least expensive is West Virginia. Very pretty state. We reported that Congresswoman Omar said her son was stopped by ICE. Ice says that is not true, that Congressman is lying. is ICE's statement, quote, ICE has absolutely zero record of its officers or Asians pulling over Congresswoman Omar's son. With no evidence it is shameful that Congresswoman

Omar would level accusations to demonize ICE as part of a PR stunt. Okay, just thought you should know that because we did report on what Omar said. San Diego, the school district, San Diego, unified, will not inform parents if students in that school district change their names from Hank to Henrietta or vice versa, or fill out forms saying they want to change their gender. They will not alert the parents. Here's what the school district says, quote, school staff should not discuss information. it may reveal a student's transgender status or gender non-conforming presentation to others.

Therefore, given a sensitive nature of the information when speaking with parents, guardians, other staff members of third party, school staff should not disclose a student's preferred name, pronouns, or other confidential information pertaining to the student's transgender or gender non-conforming status without the student's permission

unless authorized to do so by law. In California, they want the village to raise the child, not the parents, and the village is corrupt. So that's where you are out there in San Diego. Outrageous. Smart life. So how was 225 for you? Great, terrible. Here's the survey. Wow. 34. Spending more time outdoors, 29, boosting mental health, 29. All right, all positive, all good. But you've got to have discipline. Just listen to this woman. Then Johnny Mathis, Christmas, traditional, and this guy, he's still alive. He's just fantastic. The way he freezes the songs. And finally, Nat King Cole has disappeared, but boy, is this guy good. And he was one of the crooners in the 1940s and, 50s, a victim of segregation, but boy, oh boy, his Christmas song is the best version.

So in that King Cole, Johnny Mathis and the Carpenter's, you'd be very pleased at them all. And you get to spirit now. I was listening to Karen Carpenter last night. Breatthaking.
