Hey Bill O'Reilly here.
Welcome to the No Spin News for Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, stand up for your country.
Another very busy news day.
We'll get to the VP debate coming up.
But we've got Iran firing missiles at Israel.
obviously. That's a huge story. I'm going to give you what we know, but this changes every 15
minutes. So I don't want to get too deep into the reportage because by the time you watch this,
it might be obsolete. But I will give you the overall. So Iran was embarrassed when Israel
killed the Hezbollah commander who was working with Iraq. And that happened last week.
Israeli troops have gone in on the ground to Lebanon to root out other Hezbollah leaders.
So Iran's got to do something, has to. Everybody's saying, okay, what are you going to do?
You're going to let this go unpunished. So you have to understand the dynamics here.
Iran does not have the military capacity to defeat Israel in anything. It doesn't. But it does
have missiles and apparently they launched more than 100 in Israel's direction. Now Israel has that
iron shield and it's knocked as of this reporting all of them down. So we don't have any reports
of deaths inside Israel at this juncture. Now President Biden says he's going to help Israel defend
itself against Iran. Okay. You know he's going to say that. There's a big election coming up. So they
can't say we're going to root for Iran. Iran is a primary terrorist state in the world.
All right. The Biden administration may very soft on Iran. Kamala Harris is no blank an idea what's
going on. I'm convinced of that. But right now, the United States is what they call standing
with Israel. Now, that's all I can tell you at the moment. I will say what I reported yesterday,
I believe it was, that Israel could severely damage Iran very quickly by bombing their ports.
Iran is totally dependent for money and goods on shipping.
Okay? And it ships oil. And there used to be a big, stiff embargo on buying Iranian oil that happened
under the Trump administration, but that's gone because the Biden administration,
much softer on Iran. So Iran has been able to replenish its money. But Israel could take out those
ports with probably not much problem. Okay. And that means that the Iranian people, the Persians,
would starve. How are they going to get food in? All right, air lifted in, I can't feed that many
people. Neighboring countries, that's Afghanistan. They have enough food to be their own people.
So it would be a catastrophe for the Mullahs to get a full-bore war going with Israel, and he would lose the war.
But in the meantime, the upheaval would be tremendous for the world.
You're already seeing oil prices skyrocket.
That affects the American economy, and on and on and on.
Okay, that's where we are now.
Tomorrow I'll have a much more detailed report and analysis.
Now the talking points memo, American politics, stormy political weather, and a lot of it has to do with this Hurricane Helene.
Here are the stats as we know them.
About 140 Americans died in the storm.
North Carolina 57 dead, South Carolina 31, Georgia 26, Florida 11, Tennessee 6, Virginia 2.
Okay, 600 people are missing.
That means they're probably dead, but I shouldn't say that because there's communication breakdown,
so they might be, but a good portion of the 600 are dead.
Two million people still without power right now, including Bernie Goldberg.
I talked to him this morning and texting.
He lives in Asheville.
I got hammered in Asheville.
So Goldberg's going south to Miami.
He said, I'm the first person ever to flee a storm by going.
to Florida. So at least he's kept his sense of humor, but he doesn't have power, it doesn't
work on, on, on, on, on. So Bernie's ahead and south. The estimated damage is going to be about
$200 billion, and that's why all the insurance premiums for everybody in America going up,
because all of these insurance companies have to pay these claims, and then they raise their
prices for everybody to make up for it. I mean, if you have renewed your insurance policy or
try to buy insurance, you know it's insane, insane from what it was just two, three years ago.
And it'll go up again. Now, President Biden is doing what every president does,
promising federal relief money, FEMA, okay? And the money will get there. It's a bureaucracy.
It's not going to be on the spot. You know it. Donald Trump went down, okay, to Georgia, Valdosta,
to try to rally morale, you know, and it was a good political move.
He's engaged, so he's there.
But while on the ground, he said this, quote,
I was also going to stop into North Carolina, which has really been hit hard.
I have a lot of supplies ready for them, but access communication now restricted,
want to make sure the local emergency management is able to focus on helping the people
most affected and not being concerned with me.
That's good, right there.
I'll be there shortly, but don't like the reports that I'm getting about the federal government and the Democrat governor of North Carolina going out of their way to not help people in Republican areas, unquote.
It was on social media.
Okay.
Now, immediately when he brings the federal government and the Democratic governor saying they're not helping Republicans, the press has got a story.
And NBC News asked Trump about it. Go.
The other interesting thing about Trump's visit here, he had been saying on truth social that he believes Democrats, specifically the governor of North Carolina and the federal government, had been intentionally denying aid to Republican parts of the Tar Hill state.
I asked him what, if any, evidence he had to back that up.
You can see what he said here.
Thank you.
Mr.
Democrats intentionally
not getting into
Republican areas.
What was that in reference to?
Governor Kemp did call...
Where's that coming from?
Did any evidence for that, Mr. President?
You got to vote Trump, people.
Very difficult to hear his response there on that clip, Katie.
But his answer was, take a look.
Essentially, I've got nothing to show you right now.
Go find it yourself.
Okay, so there isn't much backup for Trump's assertion that the Democrat governor, North Carolina, and the federal governor withholding aid from Republican areas.
We can't find it.
So this is going back to a recurring theme.
Trump helped himself by going down to the storm affected areas.
That was a very good move.
But then he says something that the media doesn't like, okay?
and the media demands, well, where's the backup?
And the Trump people don't have it.
So the diverts the story from him going there, positive, into a negative.
You see?
So I'm saying to myself, what Trump needs to do is hire a fact person to follow him around.
But he won't.
I know that.
but he could have two or three people.
All they do, I have them.
I pay my people to be fact people.
I do it.
It's not that hard.
The job is hard, but it's not hard to find people to do it.
Okay?
And don't say anything.
You can't back up.
It's five weeks we're voting.
Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress.

Hey, it's Sean Spicer from the Sean Spicer Show podcast, reminding you to turn into my show

new episodes of the Sean Spicer Show podcast drop at 2 p.m. East Coast.
every day. Make sure you tune in. You can find us at Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your
podcast. So the press is never going to be fair. They're always going to look for a way to
diminish Trump. We all know that everybody knows it. But don't give them the hammer.
Okay. Finally, in the talking points, the debate tonight. So, Senator Vance got to know it's three
against one. All right. And Nora O'Donald and Margaret Brennan are the moderators,
CBS, and they're liberal women.
Okay, they've always been liberal women.
That's who they are.
That's fine with me, as long as it doesn't bleed over into their job, as long as they're
not unfair.
Not going to be an active fact check, so the moderators don't really have a lot of sway,
although they can ask follow-up questions, and we'll see how effective that is.
So Vance has got to know it's three against one.
He's against Governor Walls.
and the two moderators are certainly not looking to make him look good.
How they conduct themselves, I'll tweet during it.
You'll get everything on the spot, she says at Bill O'Reilly, at very era, at Bill O'Reilly, okay?
And then I'm going to do analysis for the News Nation.
After that, you'll be able to see that.
We'll post it on Bill O'Reilly.com.
So I'm on it, real time, as they call it.
But Vance has to be prepared.
If he allows himself to get on the defensive, he'll lose.
And that's what Trump did, to Kamala Harris.
He got on an offensive.
So Vance has got to know they're going to go after the cat ladies.
They're going to go out of the eating cats and dogs.
And whatever else Fance has said in his past life that the liberal press thinks it is offensive.
Vance is going to have to deal with that.
Those questions are going to come.
I wouldn't even answer them if our events.
I just look and say, look, I know that's what you were going to ask, but I'm looking ahead.
All right?
I'm seeing a country that's in disarray under Biden-Harris, and I've got solutions to these problems.
The president and I, President Trump and I, have solutions.
And so that's how I'm going to give you the answers to those questions.
You want to know about dachshunds being eaten for lunch?
I'm not going to engage.
a perfect right to do that. Vance can do that. Just cut it off at the pass. And then what does
Walsh have to run on? What? Nothing. He's more progressive left than Harris. But if I'm Vance,
I'm kicking in real, real fast to the riots in Minneapolis after the George Floyd killing.
You know, and Vance doesn't have to wait for the CBS moderators to ask him the question because
they won't ask them the question.
I'll put heavy money on that.
They're not going to ask them that question.
You waited 48 hours before getting everything under control
or even sending in relief to stop the looting and the burning
and everything else in Minneapolis.
Do you regret that, Governor?
Right?
Well, Vance can say to Brennan and the other one,
he could say, O'Donnell, why don't you ask him this?
That's a good question.
I think everybody would like to know that answer.
He can do that.
You have to control it.
Trump did not control it with Kamala Harris.
Vance could.
Now, if Vance does what I suggest and wins the debate and looks state and like like he can run
the country if something happens to Trump, that's going to help the ticket.
Most of the time these VP debates don't mean anything, nothing, all right?
This time, there are enough people floating around that Vance can help that ticket, but he's got to win.
And that's the memo.
Schedule is today, the president met with some rabbis as the Jewish high holidays approach.
Common didn't do anything today.
Very interesting.
She's not out there every day.
Trump's in Wisconsin.
New poll among Hispanic Latino voters, and this is a very important group.
So this is Telemundo, CNBC, all right.
Gender, 47% male, 53 female, that skews the poll toward Kamala Harris.
Just so, Telemundo and CNBC, no.
If you're going to have 6% more women, you're skewing your own poll.
Okay?
Democrat 49, Republican 37, Independent 13, that's worse than it looks, because there are more
registered Democrats among Latino voters. So I'm not so concerned about that. Gender? Yeah.
All right, here's the question. Who do you support? Who will you vote for?
Trump fans, 40, Harris Walls, 54. So a 14% gap in the Latino vote. But
At this time, in 2012, it was a 39-point gap in favor of Barack Obama.
39.
Okay?
In 16, Hillary, 50-point lead.
So this is fairly tight among Latino voters.
I think Trump could might split it.
I do.
I think that the Latino vote is getting hammered economically, and they are conservative people,
generally speaking, in social areas.
But we'll see.
I hate that.
We'll see.
I'm sorry I said that.
That's the worst cliche in every journalist, every television person says it.
Let's just put it this way.
I'll revisit that after the vote is counted.
Oh, now, one big deficit for the Harris Walls campaign is a massive amount of spending that the Democratic Party advocates.
So, as we have reported, Biden and Harris have added more than $7 trillion, it's so hard to believe, to the national debt.
And every day is more than a trillion dollars a year in interest payments by the USA.
say. Nobody's ever seen anything like this. Well, what does Harris do when she's on a campaign trail?
She's going to spend more. Go.
By the end of my first term, we will end America's housing shortage by building 3 million new homes and rentals
that are affordable for the middle class.
My administration will provide first-time home buyers with $25,000.
to help with the down payment on a new home.
So as president, I'll not only restore that tax cut, but expand it.
We will provide $6,000 in tax relief to families during the first year of a child's life.
Notice the word provide.
Now, number one, she's not going to build 300 million homes.
The government can't build 300 million homes.
It has to be done privately.
So that's not going to happen ever.
That's just ridiculous.
Number two, she's not going to give anybody $25,000 for a down payment on a house.
That's unconstitutional.
You can't take one group and give them money and then deny another group,
which would be everybody else who maybe is living in a shanty house and would like to move on up like the Jefferson's.
You can't.
No, that's not going to happen.
And $6,000 for every kid who's born, I mean, this is so out of control.
But people believe it.
They believe it.
It's not going to get any of that done, even if the Democrats control Congress, she won't get any of it done.
None of it.
Okay.
The other issue where, no, let me just back this up.
The Economic Innovation Group, EIG, is a bipartisan public policy organization that studies the effect of the economy on the folks.
You and Me, okay, that's the Economic Innovation Group.
They say that Americans are more reliant on government spending than ever before, which is true.
Here are the stats.
Okay. In 1970, 8% of all personal money that Americans had came from the government, 8%. Now it's 18%. Now, what does that mean? So that means entitlements, welfare, food stamps, housing subsidies,
Social Security, now people get it mad.
They go, oh, Social Security is not an entitlement.
It is classified that way, even though we've all paid into it, those of us who work, Medicare, whatever.
And many senior systems obviously depend on Social Security.
So almost 20% of the population is dependent on the federal government to survive.
That's what the progressives want.
They want to bump that up to about 40%.
See?
and so the government would be your benefactor, not private industry.
You depend on the government.
So that's heading in that direction, and that's where the progressives want it.
Interestingly enough, 70% of the counties in Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, all vital states, are significantly reliant on the federal government.
70%.
In Arizona, 86% of the counties rely on a federal government for a significant portion of their income.
So the states that are very heavily dependent on federal subsidies.
Social Security, you know, the Democrats are saying that Trump wants to do away with it and all that stuff.
It's not true.
Trump's not going to touch him.
But what will happen, I don't know when, but it will, is that the age that you'll be eligible to collect will go up.
But not for people, say, over the age of 50.
It'll be for the younger people that age will.
will have to rise. And it's inevitable, have to, just so you know. The other issue that the Democrats
are polling well on is abortion. Now, Kamala Harris is not only a person who says, well,
abortion should be legal because women should have reproductive rights, right? She promotes
abortion. She somehow has made it into something noble, which is for a procedure that's life-ending,
and it is, I mean, potentially human being never going to be born,
I don't know about the nobility.
Sometimes it has to be done.
Catastrophic health, baby is not being able to function on its own and born.
We understand, rape, incest, we got it.
Power, politics, and the people behind the headlines.

Okay? But Harris has made it into a cause. That this is good. It should be widespread. And it's the woman's responsibility. If you want to abort a child, a half hour before it's supposed to be born, you can. For any reason. No. So her rationale is this. Go.
Exactly is it that they don't trust women?
Well, we trust women.
We trust women.
And when Congress passes a bill to restore reproductive freedom
as President of the United States,
I will proudly sign it into law.
You can do whatever you want,
you want, but the Supreme Court's already ruled, and Congress can't override the Supreme
Court's ruling. So it's, again, it's just like the spending stuff. Never going to happen.
Even if the Democrats in Congress voted to make it happen, she put her name on it. The Supreme
Court said, we already decided this. It's the state's decision, not the federal government.
We decided it. It's law. You can't override the Supreme Court. That's our Constitution.
So she just puts this garbage out there, but these people don't,
hey, yay, yay.
It's sad, and it's dangerous.
Talk about somebody misleading.
Wow.
So a judge in Georgia, state judge, says that the law banning abortion after six weeks
is unconstitutional, according to Georgia Constitution.
And so it goes back to 22 weeks.
Now, that's going to be appealed.
The original Georgia law was 22 weeks.
Can't have an abortion after that.
The legislature knocked it down
after the Roe v. Wade decision by the Supreme Court
to six weeks.
But the judge says, nope, you gotta go back to 22 weeks,
which is where it is now,
and then it'll go to the appeals court.
So the issue of abortion very divisive,
as you know, divides families, friends,
People get angry, emotional, and it's very, very touchy.
There's a new book out.
It's called What to Say When Your Proven Guide in the New Abortion Landscape,
How to Discuss, Clarify, and Question Abortion in a Hostile Culture.
Very interesting.
Author of the book is Sean Carney.
He's the CEO of a group called 40 Days for Life.
He joins us now from Houston, Texas.
All right, I have some simple questions.
I'm a simple man.
So you believe, and I believe, I don't know what your theology is,
but Roman Catholic theology is abortion is wrong.
However, if the life of the mother is at stake,
I'm not imposing my theological belief on anybody else.
And if there's rape or incest, I'm going to let the state decide that issue.
That's me.
That's my conscience.
When I'm discussing this with people who believe in unfettered abortion,
abortion for any reason at any time,
how should I frame my argument because my belief system is based on a religious tenet?
Well, it can be based on science.
It should be based on science.
That's why you have so many secular people now that are pro-life.
I think that most people who support abortion do so genuinely.
I think that those who represent the pro-abortion movement,
are horrible right now. They want abortion through 40 weeks. They want infanticide in many states.
They've now removed the doctor from the abortion procedure and will allow a nurse to do it.
So I think it's fair at Thanksgiving to ask your well-meaning aunt or uncle, when can they sleep
at night and do the abortion? What's the goal line? Is it 22 weeks? Is it 12 weeks? Is it 6 weeks?
When we have a heartbeat? Is it 40 weeks? If it's not 40 weeks, why not? I mean, if you want an abortion,
can get an abortion.
You know, 40 weeks is viability, okay?
So the baby can live on its own after.
But from what-
That's a pretty rough standard bill.
It's pretty rough.
You got to live on your own in order to live amongst us.
And most pro-abortion people don't support abortion at 40 weeks.
I don't know about most.
It depends where you live.
So as you know, Mr. Carney, people believe what they want to believe.
Yeah, that's it.
Okay, and very hard to dissuade them if they want to believe something.
So the pro-abortion people believe that a fetus is not a human being.
How do you count to that?
Well, I think that's shifted to where they acknowledge that it's a human being, but we just have the right to think.
No, no, no, no. Believe me, not here where I am in New York, there's no acknowledgement that a fetus is a human being that I know of.
Bill Maher acknowledged it.
Well, that's like, you know what I'm talking about.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay?
So how do you deal with a person who says the fetus is not a human being?
If it's not a human being, then we can do an abortion all through nine months, and there's no issue with that.
And ask them if they're okay with that.
The other thing, Bill, is to point out that we're not mutual funds.
We don't gain value or dignity over time.
We don't get more dignity with every week.
of gestation. It doesn't operate like that. It's a, we exist biologically. We come into
existence and then we grow up. And that's why most people are, are against, you know, late-term
abortion or at least uncomfortable with it, because it's clear. It's more personal. It's a baby.
It's why, you know, God bless Georgia for having a heartbeat bill. Heartbeats are good. They're
natural. Do you ever use shame in your argument?
No. Never. Never works. I will say, Bill, this is one of the few issues, because I know we're so divided, and you do a great job at covering the political divide, but people do change their minds on abortion these days. There's so much scientific evidence. Or than any other issues. When I deal with pro-abortion people, I basically lay out this, that there is an alternative for it, and that's adoption. And it's hard. And it's hard.
but from my experience as a reporter many women who abort have emotional problems throughout their whole life
and the studies show that and i will produce those studies and say look you give your baby
if you can't care for it it don't want to to someone who wants it that's nobility you destroy it
and it never gets a chance to live,
well, you put the adjective on it.
And that is a pretty persuasive way to go.
Well, it is.
It's also that no one grows up wanting an abortion.
And it's very unnatural.
It's why you don't shame people.
And it's why so many women turn around at the last moment.
It's why, you know, we've helped 256 abortion workers
who have had a change of heart and quit their jobs.
We have an abortion doctor on staff,
a former abortion doctor. We have a former Planned Parenthood manager on staff. People do change
their minds. It's a barbaric practice. And it's something that despite 50 years of legalization,
we haven't gotten over and thank goodness for that. But we're not comfortable with it. And there's
a reason for that. There's a reason. I think you might be generalizing, Mr. Carney. The media is
certainly comfortable with abortion. They promote it. We have a presidential candidate who has built
her career on it. All right. And those people, trust me, are not going home every night going
gee, I'm doing the wrong thing.
They're not because they believe what they want to believe.
And so you might be underestimating the militancy of the pro-abortion lobby.
I'll give you the last word.
Well, I'm not underestimate the militancy of the people leading the charge.
Kamala, as you mentioned, is literally running on abortion, which is depressing at best.
And they're making it into a sacrament.
But most people don't want to hear about abortion.
They don't want to talk about abortion, whether they support it or not.
And I think that you have one side of this debate that is rooted in science, that is rooted in compassion,
and that is rooted in not celebrating the most controversial surgery we have in our land.
I agree with that 100%.
I'm going to give you something else if you haven't thought of it.
Only three countries, non-communist, in the world, allow late-term abortion.
only three, okay? That is Canada, Netherlands, and Singapore. And if Kamala Harris gets elected,
that would be the law of the land. If she could, she's not going to be able to, as I pointed out.
Supreme Court will stop it. But she would do that. And there's a reason why only three countries,
because as you use the word barbaric, you're carrying a baby at nine months and you execute that baby,
that's it the book again is your proven guide to the new abortion landscape how to discuss
clarify and question abortion in the household culture so Connie good luck to you thank you very much
for appearing tonight thank you I appreciate it all right George Soros has won his takeover
of 200 Odyssey radio stations across country interesting story Soros is 94 he's out of it
his son, more militant than George, Alexander, 38 years old. They're buying Odyssey. I don't know how much
it is, 400 million, whatever. Odyssey is almost bankrupt. So to take it out, they don't want to make
money. They know they're not going to make money. They want to put up a counterweight on
radio to the conservative talk stations. That's what they're doing. So a big stuff.
stations, W-BBM in Chicago. Okay, that's a big station. K-N-X in L.A. News Radio, big station.
In New York, W-I-N-S News Radio, W-CBS, big stations. But, again, Audities and Bankruptcy.
The radio industry is on the slide, except for W-A-B-C radio, which is unbelievable ratings. I got them
today. It's incredible of what John Casamatidis and the crew at W.A.B.C. has done with that station.
Might the monster. But anyway, Soros got it to blunt conservative talk radio. It's not going to work.
Air America failed. You remember that. Al Franken disaster years and years back.
Smart Life. Here is five things that Americans overspend on. A survey by M. Power.
power, okay? This is pretty fascinating to me. Number one, accessory, sunglasses, watches. So I went in to buy some sunglasses, guy I wanted to buy some sunglasses, guy I wanted $300. I laughed. I said, what? Oh, there are Calvin Klein's. I said, I wouldn't buy them if Calvin himself dropped them off at my house and watches. I mean, I got a nice Swiss watch. It cost me like a hundred and a quarter.
And I've had this watch for like 12 years.
It's great.
Swiss make the best watches.
But these people spend all this money on watches and sunglasses.
Second, booze.
Now, this is a drainer.
I'm telling you, you go out and order cocktails now, it's 15 to 20 bucks, unless you're in a dive bar someplace.
And booze is like, that just sucks the money right out of your wallet and your home.
Third, jewelry, never got it.
Never got it. Why? If you're a lady, you want to look like Cleopatra? Is that what it is? And if you're a guy with the earring and what are you, a pirate? I don't understand it. The wringo has the rings on every... I like that. Next, DoorDash Food Delivery. This is a smart life segment. I never... I shouldn't say that. I think I had a couple of pizzas deliver one time.
but I don't do that because they jack up the price and then junk food snacks we all know that's
just a waste of money you just empty calories they call it um you're gonna get fat you're you're
gonna ruin your body and you're gonna spend your money on garbage happy birthday jimmy carter
100 years ago today he was born in georgia 1924 october 1st uh Carter okay confronting the presidents
we accurately label him a very poor president.
He was not a bad man, or is not a bad man, still alive.
He did Habitat for Humanity as an excellent organization, and he was deeply involved with that.
And he tried to do his best, but he was in way over his head.
It would be like me starting for the Jets in London on Sunday, a quarterback.
I used to be a really good quarterback.
I am not any longer.
I can't do the job.
Jimmy could never do the job.
He was a governor of Georgia, a rural state back then in 1976.
He gets to Washington.
He doesn't know what he's doing.
We lay it out in confronting the presidents.
Okay.
But anyways, 100 years old today.
Would I want to live to be 100?
No way.
No way.
As soon as I'm dependent on another person for my physical well-being,
I want to go.
It's not going to be my decision.
I understand.
Okay?
But I don't want to hang around.
I don't fear death.
I have never feared death.
I've been close to death two, three times.
I got out of it.
I didn't lose my head and panicked, I didn't cry, and doing anything like that.
All right, so happy birthday, Jimmy Carter.
And read Confirting the Presidents because you'll, we just lay it out.
Boom, boom, boom, boom.
Stay in history, October 1st, 1957, the motto, in God, we trust, by law.
Put on the dollar bills.
There, in God, we trust.
There it is.
Now, this is fascinating. President Dwight Eisenhower did it because the communists in Russia were persecuting Catholics and Jews.
Said Eisenhower, quote, in this way we're reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America's heritage and future.
In this way, we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons, which forever will be our country's most powerful resource in peace and war.
So in God we trust. And as you know, the atheists and agnostics and everybody, oh, it's against the country.
Constitution. It isn't. Okay. There's no force religion in there. There's an acknowledgement that
this country's heritage, okay, was forged on a belief in a God. Not a particular God.
None of that. And it was. Re-killing the witches, you'll see it. Back with a final thought in a
moment. Okay, as I mentioned, I will be tweeting during tonight's vice presidential debate,
and I will have my analysis on News Nation put on bill o'Reilly.com.
After, I wrote a message of the day and anybody can access it on Bill O'Reilly.com.
Don't have to be a premium member.
Don't have to do that.
You just go there.
And I said that throughout our history, some of the vice presidents who were elevated to the presidency
upon the president's death, like Lincoln and Garfield and McKinley, were horrible.
People like Andrew Johnson, John Tyler, Chester A. Arthur.
And perhaps the worst was Lyndon Johnson after J.F. Coyant.
Oh, is he corrupt?
Where do you see that?
And I didn't know it.
When Dugard and I were researching confronting the press,
and this was coming in, I went, this can't be true.
Lyndon Johnson set up a bordella to blackmail fellow politicians.
It's true.
That's what you'll learn in the book.
Okay, so we're looking forward to the debate tonight.
We'll have no-spin analysis, and we will see you again tomorrow.
