No, what I want open border anarchy? I'm sweating. You know. Hey Bill O'Reilly here. Welcome to We'll Do It Live. And this is a very interesting episode we have because we wanted to get to this guy, our guest, before he dies.

And that could be momentarily. So we'll do it live, kind of fits into the introduction of Geraldo Rivera, who's living large on Eastern Long Island with his very nice wife, Erica, and whoever else shows up. Rivera, as you know, and I have known each other 50 years, which is amazing. He is on death store. We had to get special makeup just to have him be presentable.

But he's 83 years old, my God. And look at the hair on him for 83 years old. Now, one of the reasons that I asked to have you on today, and I did not know this, is our shootout, which is still on the Internet, on illegal immigration criminal activity. It's almost 20 years old now. And before we show it, we're going to show you a portion of it. It's too horrifying to show the whole thing.

I wanted to get an update on how you see what's happened in America in the last, you know, since Trump had been elected the first term. So, number one, thanks for doing this. It's very nice of you to take some time out on your vacation. Were you happy with the way the Biden administration conducted its immigration policy? Absolutely not. I think that President Biden and Kamala Harris, Vice President Harris, were a recipe for disaster when he came to immigration by opening up the borders, by telling everyone, come on, come on down.

we love you, we accept you, you are in. They created this stampede, you know, by multiples of what had existed before. Huge wagon trains of immigrants coming up from the south, the vast majority of them, some also from Haiti and the other parts of the Caribbean and the rest of the world, Africa, and so forth. But mainly it was a Latino wave of immigration, totally unregulated. It swamped the border in a way that was shocking and very unsettling, even to those like me who believe that immigration is the life's blood of the country. So I was very upset. I think that President Trump has done an excellent job. I was just going to say, just an excellent job on the border.

But I have a real beef with what he has done and with advocates like you, very harshly to deal with those. who are in the country. The border is sealed. He claims, and I have no reason to doubt, that there's net zero immigration on the southern border now. I say, then, now that you've solved the problem, you've turned off the spigot, be nice to the people who are here

if they have not committed crimes and they're part of society. Give them a break. Okay. So you had some objection to the open border policy, which led to President Trump, election. One of the themes of the Trump's second term is getting the criminal aliens out. Now, you and I, I don't want to go over this again because anybody knows us, knows that we have a

difference of opinion here. So your thesis, at least it used to be, was that Americans commit crimes at a greater rate than migrants do. And that may or may not be true, but my counted to that was, look, that, be that as it may, you don't inject a virus into your body if you're not 100% sure of the reaction that that's going to have. And when you let people in unregulated, as you're using your word, we don't know they are, we don't know what they've done. And there is solid evidence that Maduro and people like that were opening their prisons and sending the hard core up here to get rid of them. And that led to a lot of migraine crime. Now, I agree with you on one thing.

I deal with a lot of recent immigrants, a lot of them. And some of them work for me. and they are the hardest workers. They put America, particularly the younger people, they put Americans a shame because they want to make it. They believe in our system. They want to prosper and they want to have a good life. There's no doubt in that.

I've seen it. I know it. I've written the checks to it. But at the same time, I understand MS-13, and so do you. And all of the unintended consequences of no. No supervision whatsoever. Trump now says, I'm going to tackle that. I did the border seal.

Now I'm going to get these guys, and primarily they're guys. Okay, I'm going to get them and get them the hell out of here to quote him. Is there anything wrong with that? The problem is it's sloppy. It is ill-aimed. It is in a way. extremely unfair to the people who've been here for 10, 20, 30 years and have committed no crimes, raised their children, followed all the rules except their unlawful entry, have played by the rules

in every regard. My goodness, on Long Island, where you and I hail, as you suggest, the migrants are the gas that makes the engine go. They, so hard. They're so diligent, so believing in the American dream. It's a shame when you see ice unleashed in a way that is horrifying, very cruel and not very effective if the goal truly is, if it sincerely is to get the people that Maduro released from the prison, then I have no reason to doubt that allegation, knowing the government that existed Ronda Maduro and Chavez before him. I think that when you read about the ones that are the nine who have been killed in recent weeks, the many thousands who are being rounded up

five, six thousand a day, you know, they check the backgrounds and they have no criminal past, the vast majority of the mind. You know, when you think about it, the wily career, career criminal released from the institution or the jail, he's the one that's going to know how to dodge ICE. That's why it makes it so hard for ICE to catch them. And they have to go into the neighborhoods where the migrants live. And a lot of times, and I had an extensive interview with Holman, a lot of times there'll be a blameless migrant, somebody who hasn't committed a crime, living.

with a heinous gang member. And so they all get swept. It's a very complicated, you're almost sorting out millions of people, which is impossible. So here's the next question. Why under Barack Obama was there no move to give the dreamers some kind of framework so they wouldn't have to be subjected to this? Why did the left totally abdicate its responsibility in doing that? I don't necessarily disagree, but only to the extent that, you know, by degree, I think that he created the framework of the dreamers. What's a dreamer? A dreamer is a migrant here unlawfully, who was brought here by his parents when he was very young. And again, I'll keep using the he rather than they, because the vast majority of the ones that are subject to enhanced, you know,

desire of law enforcement to round them up. These people came here at two years old, four years old, went to grade school here. Some served in the military. You know, why not give these people the American dream? Now was Obama, was President Obama effective enough? in activating and affecting this wonderful program. The answer is clear, no, because we don't have the dreamer. But why? But why? Why didn't the left, which is the champion of migration,

okay, why didn't they provide some sort of protection for the people who were taken here when they're two years? years old. Most Americans want all migrants deporting, all of them, like 80%? Okay. So that's xenophobic, and it's based on fear. I know what it is. But they would accept if you came here at five years old and you're a good citizen getting a temporary status to remain doing what you're doing. I believe that most Americans, absolutely if there was a ballot measure, they would vote for that. But I don't know why the progressive left, led by Barack Obama, did make no attempt whatsoever to provide some security for the dreamers. And you can't answer the question. You don't know.

I don't know. I think it's not as clear cut as you make out. There was tremendous opposition to the migrants in Congress. The vast public opinion, as you suggest, was anti-migrant in a way that is horrifying to me. It's very shocking. It's embarrassing. And so much of it impacts Latinos. I don't know the answer other than I doubt. The answer to all the progressive movement were cowards.

and President Obama did not lead. He did not lead on this issue. And it got worse and worse. What I want to do is move forward. Okay. But we have to do one more blast from the past before we move forward. So 20 years ago, actually 19 and a half. The title of your program is, interesting.

So there were two girls in Virginia who were killed by a migrant drunk driver, and this set off one of the most explosive debates in television history. Roll it. Do you know how many people we have in jail? How many of them are illegal aliens? Illegal aliens commit crimes at a lower rate than citizens do. This guy shouldn't have been here. Cool your jets. It has nothing to do with illegal aliens. It has to do with drunk driving. It does it. Don't obscure a tragedy to make a cheap political point. I'm the father. It's a cheap political point.

And you know it is. This is justice. This has nothing to do with that poor over the mayor. You want anarchy. There's nothing to do with that mayor. You want anarchy. No, what I want open border anarchy. What I want is fairness. Okay, two rational guys just out for lunch. I'm sweating. You know, and both of us had modified our position a little.

I think that's accurate to say. But when I did my recent documentary for News Nation, where we both appear now on San Francisco, the people who control the hard drug trade there, which kills thousands of people in the Northern California area, are Honduran gangs. Okay, they control everything about it. And so it's not a problem that's getting better. It's getting more entrenched where you have people from around the world coming in selling the hardest drugs, the drugs that will kill you, okay? And California authorities look the other way, and they have for a long period of time.

And so my contention is these people shouldn't be here, these Hondurans. There's no way they should be killing Americans selling this poison, yet they are. and that has not changed. And I think it's a strong point. It is a strong point, but how about this point? That the vast majority of the Honduran, Guatemalan, Dominican, Mexican, you name the country Haiti, you name the vast majority of those coming here, are law-abiding people, hard-working people,

people coming here in search of the dream that we extolled, the American dream. that if you work hard and you play by the rules, you can succeed. Your kids can do better than you did. They can go to college. They can go be professionals. They can serve in the military. They can make the world a better place. Nobody speaks into Russia, Bill.

All of that is true, but it does not address the harm reduction factor, where you have a tremendous amount, and I mean more than a million, okay, of criminals who have come in here and actually are killing Americans with fentanyl and heroin and everything else. So the good people, okay, they don't override. If you're a heinous person and you die and they're St. Peter and you're looking at them and you go, hey, you know, Pete, I might have been bad, but my kids are really good. And so don't send me to hell because I had something to do with those guys. good kids. That argument is not going to work. It's a harm reduction argument that you have to have

control over who is here. Now, I'll grant you that ICE needs a much more disciplined approach to the way they take people into custody. Okay, I believe that. And I don't think that's a hard thing to do, and I don't think Holman disagrees with it either. Okay, and it should happen. The two in Minnesota that interfered with the ICE investigation. It's a little bit different. But the guys, you know, running around Houston and Maine or wherever it was that got waxed. I mean, I don't know their circumstance.

I don't know whether they're good or bad people. I don't know. But that'll come out in the court of law. Okay, so let's advance the conversation now. I went to a dinner with Rivera, Sean Hannity, Levine, and Sean Compton, who runs News Nation. What was that? About three years ago or longer than that? I can't process anything anymore.

I think three years. Okay. So we're all at the table with the president. And it's very nice to invite us all. And there were any food fights or anything. And we're all kind of behaving. But you and Trump were friendly. I mean, you know, friends, friends.

Would that be accurate? Definitely. I love the guy. I have for a long time, we've been pals. He's been extremely gracious to me and my family. I, you know, I loved hanging out with him. We go way back. I go back even further than you.

And it's a tragedy to me that because of January 6th, and this obsession that he has with the 2020 election and the issue of migration and his cruel approach to dealing with the immigration, that I was forced with the strong pressure from Erica, my wife will you reference, to vote for Joe Biden. And then, you know, I said it out loud,

I want people to know where I stand, that those issues are so important that even friendship. Did you vote, did you tell Trump you voted for Biden? Yes, yes, I did. I did, and I was delighted that he did not. He's never, he's been in office now with first term and then now the second term for probably a combined three years or six and a half all together.

He's going to have. And he's had plenty of opportunity to criticize me, and he's never done it. No, it is entrust you. But he gets hurt when his so-called allies. I know. He takes it personally. And I know that. The dinner that you referenced was extremely secret. I was pledged to secrecy. Do not reveal. And a bit more of the circumstance. He was getting a lot of bad press, and you and I were the most fervent advocates of him taking a Reagan-esque approach to the office, a shining city on the hill approach. And I think you even use that expression, if I recall correctly, from Mario Cuomo. And Trump was, as he often does, yes, you're right, Bill, yes, Geraldo, you're right, I'm going to be more of a mensch.

I'm going to be more of a good guy. I'm not going to, and then two minutes later, he goes and he blows up this or that. Okay. Number one, at the dinner, nobody told me, because nobody ever would on this planet, tell me what I couldn't, couldn't say. That's just me and everybody knows it. But number two, here's how I read President Trump, and I'd like to get your opinion. on it. So he takes everything personally, 100% across the board personally. And he believes that in his

first term, he was betrayed by the people that he trusted and put in powerful positions, bolton, people like that. And so now he puts more emphasis on people he believes are loyal to him. Secondly, that... I'm surprised I didn't ask you to be Secretary of State or... No, I'm much... You know, the job that Pete Hicks is, I'm a pal God. I'm much too much of a maverick to work in a bureaucrat like that.

You know me. I mean, I'm a maverick, and... But I never, ever tell him what I would do or what he should do, ever. And when I speak to him, I don't call him. calls me. And then when he asked me, I tell him. And I always preface it was, you know me. If you were asking this question, I'm going to give you an answer. I do not expect him to act on the answer. I don't. Because he's got 50,000 other things coming at him. And the circumstances he deals with every day are things that I don't know. I don't see what he's dealing with. I did say Iran was the biggest gamble.

of his life. And it was, and it is. And I still am praying that it turns out the country, our country's way. But it was an enormous gamble because both you and I have spent time in the Middle East. Okay, we know the treachery that that is there and that the irrationality in life doesn't matter. Human life had no meaning to these people whatsoever. To go in and try to force them to do something is exceedingly difficult. It's up there with Putin. It's up there with that narcissistic. I'm going to do what I want. So I think that Trump is a good man. And that sets me apart from 85% of the press. But I can give you time and date, time and date, time and date. I think he wants the best for the country. Do you believe that?

Of course I believe it. I don't think that he's evil-minded. I lament some of what appears to be personal enrichment with Bitcoin and so forth. I haven't followed them that closely with various scandals involving the children and so forth, but I think that it's unfortunate. Iran was a stupid war. The news always gets worse in the Middle East, to think that they were going to have a miraculous change of a 50-year-old regime was very naive, and we're paying the price now, not only at the pump, but we just lost another. What price are we paying as a people with the most affluent people on a face of the earth? Okay. Even the poor American lives better than the middle class European.

All right, what price are we really paying to protect the world from a rogue terror nation acquiring a bomb? Isn't the cost worth it? Or do we just let the Treaty of Versailles be abused and let Adolf roll his Vermach into every country in Europe? because the two are very, very similar. We allow this because we don't want to pay more at the gas pump? I'm not sure historically that shapes. You make Iran a strong man. Iran, a straw man.

Iran is an awful regime. I still am extremely angry, bitter over the taking of the embassy, in 1979 and the holding of the hostages. I still have that gripe. I think that my take on it is the nuclear issue, which I think that the Obama administration and subsequent negotiations were very acutely aware of is now being used, I think, to explain away

what was a disastrous foreign policy decision to bomb Iran, in league with Israel, helping to wreck Israel's reputation already embattled. Israel arguably convincing Trump to do this. You say that Trump would never say, would never suggest, or never accept that suggestion will be forced into doing something. Well, I think that he and Bibi Netanyahu really have this chaotic situation. This is on their plate.

They have to deal with it. Why the president did this? you know, having taken out Maduro, you know, having... It dwarves Maduro. When you have a terror nation that can explode a nuclear device and no one is going to deal with that, then that nuclear device is going to go off. It's just a matter of when not it. I agree.

I agree with that, but to suggest that they weren't that previous administrations were indifferent to Iran's nuclear. They failed. I think is incorrect. They fail. They fail. Well, has President Trump succeeded? You know, I'm not sure where this damn thing ends. You know, people who've been projecting or forecasting that this or that is going to be the conclusion, don't know the Middle East. You know, we've been around. We've been there since 73, the October War. I watched them all, every one of those conflicts. You know, I have a pretty good take on it.

I think that the one thing that the Obama, JPOA, I forget the initials, the nuclear inspectors had a fairly good handle on it. And then once we punch the hell out of them with the B-2 bombers and the precision strikes, rendering them crumbs, what's a good handle, though? they're enriching uranium in Pickax Mountain, according to every weapons instructor on a planet, and the Mullets admit themselves they need a nuclear weapon. I don't understand what the doubt is. I know the progressives won't believe no matter what. It's almost like Afghanistan, where you were chasing Osama bin Laden around. It's almost the same thing.

So you have a guy that comes in to be. President Joe Biden, and he surrenders to the Taliban. He just surrenders to them. Now, the Taliban doesn't have a nuclear presence where Iran does, largely because of Putin, by the way, and people don't know this, but I do. So Putin sent a lot of nuke scientists down to help Iran develop the nuclear weaponry, and that's how it's a terrible villain he is. But in Afghanistan, you had this situation fairly under control, 18 months without any American casualties. And then Biden marches in and surrenders everything. And that signals to everybody in the world.

This guy's weak, Biden. He's stupid, which was a dumb move to do that. When you didn't have to do it, there was no pressure to do it. Okay, Bogram could be in our hands today. Taliban would have made that deal. Okay? So when Trump comes in. Let me say a couple of things.

You mentioned Putin, and Putin's dirty hands when it comes to Iran's nuclear technology. Isn't that another reason we should have backed Ukraine, that we should still back Ukraine, that Ukraine can win, Ukraine can humble Putin? Ukraine can – Ukraine can defeat Russia. They can humble. They can humble Russia, and they're doing it. already done that. In terms of Afghanistan, where I did 11 extended assignments, this was the retreat

or the evacuation of Kabul in Afghanistan was shameful and totally unnecessary. Right. But the one thing you leave out is that Trump would have ended the war also with more not that way. He would not have walked away. Right. But Bogrom, the air base, couldn't be an island in the middle of, you know, of a talent. They could have leased it out. For a year or two, maybe.

No, no, I disagree with that. They could have leased the Taliban at that point, just wanted control of the country. If we had a satellite base in Bogdram, that could have been worked out. The other thing is, and this is absolutely true, the Trump does. He doesn't want to kill civilians. All right? He doesn't. And I talked to him extensively about this.

So we have a lot of right-wingers, MAGA people. Let's go and obliterate down, let's bomb all their plants so they can't survive. That might be happening because we do have reimposed the blockades on their ports. See, I don't know what they're eating over there. But Trump doesn't want dead Persians in the sand.

He doesn't. He believes that he can wear them down, them being the mowers, that it'll become so untenable that they'll give them the inspection rights and they'll open the Hormuz, which is not hard for those people to do if they weren't up to no good, which they are. So I think that Trump is willing to play this string out a little bit further, but you Surely he knows that this is far more complicated than, and I don't believe the Israel stuff at all. I know what happened there.

Bibi and Netanyahu said, we can get them all at once. They're all going to be in this garage. We didn't blow the hell out of all of them. The whole country will collapse. And Trump bought it. And that doesn't mean he's stupid. It made sense on paper, but it didn't happen the way they thought it might. Well, I lament that it happened.

I think it was high in the sky. If they were going to sincerely work for regime change, they should have worked with the opposition, the Iranian opposition. We hid in February back in December, they were in the streets, thousands of Iranian civilians, Persians, wanting freedom and, you know, a modern life. We were three months late.

It wasn't about killing the generation of leadership. I mean, they did it. Yeah, but so what? Now is another generation. Now it's the kids or the cousins. Yeah, but they thought that the Iranian people, all 90 million of them, were just going to throw them out like they did the shot. And that didn't happen.

So you and I are two of the last men standing, right? That's it. It's amazing. You should have been fired decades ago. And anybody who let me in their building is absolutely insane. But we're it on the old guard front. Okay. You knew everybody. I know everybody. We saw them over the years. We both did syndicated madhouse shows. We've done local. We've done national. We've done everything.

Nothing more that we have to do. You need a haircut. But other than that, where the two icons are standing, or if you're watching, sitting before you. There has been, in my opinion, a tremendous corruption, mostly on television, but the New York Times and the other vehicles have contributed to it. Of the actual mission of the American media, because of Trump hatred, would you disagree? I think that there is clearly contempt for President Trump. To that extent, I agree. The hand-ringing over, you know, cries for more equitable editing,

I have no patience for it. I think Barry Weiss is probably a force for good at CBS. There's a lot of people at CBS I like, you know, putting aside any kind of institutional arrogance or snobbery, I think there's some great, I mean, CBS Sunday Morning is one of the most wonderful shows ever. Sixty minutes is a terrific show too. Let me challenge that. CBS Sunday morning will not book a non-liberal author. Take it from me. I got 20 number one New York Times bestsellers. They will not put a non-liberal author on their air. Okay. But you know, And I understand that. I mean, I understand where you come from and why you have a

I actually wrote a letter to Jane Pauli. Very specific. Am I misunderstanding this? But we traced it back. But I don't think that the show has to be right. But the show doesn't have to be fair and balanced. It doesn't have to. It can have some kind of fairness is necessary.

Come on. But don't you agree that Fox News, for instance, was the, the mirror image of CBS. CBS had its or had its institutional bias. And, you know, Fox News clearly did as well. Isn't that the way you got balanced rather than trying to get CBS Sunday morning? But that's not the right way. The right way is to be fair on what program you're doing.

So I noticed that ABC, your alma mater, where you did a lot of good work, they didn't take. Trump's speech on Thursday. I guess naked and afraid was on. I'm not sure why, but when you have... I was asked the dumbest American. That was one of their show. Right. When you have the Disney Corporation, basically

blackballing an American president, that's serious. That goes on way past any ethical situation. Hold on. I go back to what I said about Trump. I love him. I wish I could hang out with him. Whose toxic idea was that rotten $1.8 billion slush fund? CIA says no China involvement, high confidence in election. The Thursday speech with that big, big intro, was nothing. It was more... Well, let the American people decide that. I mean, when you get 25 declassified documents, you know, you cherry-picked the CIA thing.

What the intelligence agencies did say was clearly the Chinese government was trying to mass information and hundreds of thousands of people for what purpose? Why were they trying to do it? And then we tie it into Singh, this gangster who works with the Chinese government, who's pumping hundreds of millions of dollars trying to cause trouble and fund radical organizations. I mean, Beijing does do this for fun, all right? They're doing it for a reason. Now, let the American people decide whether they don't have to watch Trump. And he knew it was going to hurt him and it did hurt. He wants people to lie about the election who won the election. election. It's not a lie. It's an opinion. There's a difference between a lie and an opinion. And you got to understand that difference. No finding of the falsification that you would need. There is no evidence that can be presented to a federal grand jury at this point. Trump would desperately like to get that evidence. And that's why he's stair stepping. He lost. And the real story is his comeback, his amazing historic comeback, after this ignominious defeat when he had to flee Washington, D.C. in January of 2021,

humiliated, you know, with the process servers on his tail, you know, that's a fact. He lost. He lost, and he was in the bottom of the pit. And then he worked his way out. He clawed his way out. And slowly, slowly, he goes from the, you know, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the. the creator of January 6th, he becomes the underdog. And he becomes, and then he created the, he didn't create the riot. People believe what they want to believe. And I understand that. And my job is to provide as much insight as I can.

Luckily, I have tremendous access. He's never going to not. Trump is never going to not think that that election was rigged. So I move ahead then. Well, he writes about that. And that's the fact that he, believes it. I think that he believes it in his heart. That's why I don't hold it against them, because I believe that he's sincere in that, in that, that, uh, that incorrect or false belief

that, uh, that he won, uh, that he won the election. Yeah, but it's, it's not a lie in the sense that he wakes up and goes, I'm trying to deceive everybody and I really know the truth.
