Hey, everyone, Jordan here. Welcome back to the show. I'm so excited to be rounding out the LinkedIn profile optimization series. And the next few categories we're going to touch on are definitely important. And a lot of folks don't really put much effort into them. But I just really feel like they don't understand how to do it. So that's what I'm going to be helping you all with today. If you are hearing the sound of my voice and this is the first episode.
you've been able to listen to in the series, I definitely recommend starting at part one,
and that is going to be four to five episodes back. So definitely check out the first few,
because it's all going to make sense. And at the end of it, you're going to have a LinkedIn
profile that is completely optimized from top to bottom, which is the goal. So the next area
we're going to focus on is the experience section. And the experience section is exactly what it
sounds like. It's where you get to tie that section to things that you've done in the past or places
that you've worked and so on and so forth. And so when you're putting your information in there,
if you have a LinkedIn company page or if that company you worked for has a company page,
you can essentially attach that experience to that actual company page so that when people
click on it goes to that business.
That's a pretty cool feature.
But the other thing that you want to do is definitely make sure that your section is beefed up
with SEO.
You have around 2,000 characters, give or take, and you also want to be able to have a call
to action in there.
And then the other thing, and this is something that I see that's pretty overlooked, is you
also want to have links and images embedded into your experience section, and that gives people
a visual, but it also gives them somewhere that they can click to get to that company page
or a lead magnet or whatever your goal is for having them leave to go there. So outside of the
experience section, there's a number of other sections that your profile has. There's, you know,
awards and certifications.
There's licenses.
You have publications.
And it's important that you attach this stuff and you may say, well, you know, this isn't
really beneficial to what I'm doing now.
But, you know, you could put that one certification in that maybe you're not leveraging today,
but someone else could see that and say, oh, I have that same certification and they could
potentially have common ground with you.
So I would say never discount something that you've achieved.
or received because it also shows that you're a go-getter and you like to accomplish things.
So don't be afraid to put that in there.
It is really meant for you to kind of brag on yourself a little bit.
And so definitely make sure that you're adding, you know, those awards and adding those
different certifications that you have.
And, you know, I have my MBTI certification listed.
I've got the sales enablement certification that I got.
And I believe the advanced instructor certification.
And so those are something.
that can definitely enhance your profile.
The other thing is publications.
If you've ever been featured in an article,
so maybe it's a press release,
maybe it's some type of large publication,
you can actually add the links,
the titles,
the description,
who the credit should go to,
all of that,
and you can publicize that on your LinkedIn profile.
And so again,
SEO is important,
a decent description of,
you know,
what that publication's
about. And so having all of these areas dialed in, which if you're on, you know, this part of the
series, part four, you will have done all the other things that you need to do prior. And once that is
done, you are now ready for your content strategy to begin. Okay. And if you are listening to
this and you say, hey, Jordan, I already was putting out content. Now what we've done is we've built
you a firm foundation so that if people now find your content and they now go to your profile,
it is optimized from top to bottom.
And it should have multiple different call to actions.
It should have a great service statement.
It's got a great banner.
And so all those ingredients that we went over to get your profile optimized in the first
few parts of this series plus today, you now have a place that's really, really dialed in for
people to come to. Okay. So now your content, as it starts to resonate and people come view your
profile, your profile is now a funnel, and it's going to drive them exactly where you want them to go.

profile link, I'd love to see your final profile that you optimize as a result of the series.
And the other thing I want to do today is share with you some new LinkedIn features that you
might not be aware about.
And the first one has to do with company pages.
It's called company page premium.
And so LinkedIn now has the ability for you to upgrade your company page, similarly to how
you can upgrade your personal profile.
and I am a premium user for my personal profile.
And there's a number of different benefits that LinkedIn premium pages gives you.
If you go, if you have a company page, the next time you log in, you should have a notification that says,
hey, would you like to test out premium company page?
And it is $70 U.S. dollars a month.
They are giving you the first month for free.
And I'm currently testing this out.
and I plan on coming back in doing an episode with my personal case study on the value that I saw
and whether or not I decided to upgrade or not.
So I'm excited to be able to share that case study with you.
That is one new feature.
The other new feature that's really, really cool that you definitely need to check out is LinkedIn has now given premium users
the ability to add their LinkedIn recommendations.
So these are recommendations people have given you on platform.
platform, you now have the ability to add that to your featured section.
So, you know, I'm very bullish on having one thing tied to the featured section, but now I think
I'm going to change my tune a little bit because I do know the value of social proof and the value
of showcasing other people's thoughts on how you performed and how you work.
And so I definitely see the value in taking, you know, five to six, maybe five to ten even of your LinkedIn profile recommendations and adding those into your featured section.
And so I'm still going to have my LinkedIn newsletter as my main, but what I'm going to be doing sometime this week is adding in, you know, 10 recommendations.
And I think that is going to help people make their mind up when they're thinking about,
potentially getting on a call with me or working with me.
And I'd love to know if that's something that you're going to tackle as well.
