Cuban, those damned Cubans were causing trouble a couple miles away from the US of A. They are puppets of an international conspiracy. Missiles. The Soviet Union was crazy enough to plant missiles in our backyard. The missiles could reach and conceivably destroy Washington. Hence, crisis.

Nuclear warheads into Cuba pointed them right at us. That was real? I saw that movie. I thought it was bullshit. But there's a couple other names for this crisis. The Soviets called it the Caribbean crisis, because the crisis really started years before when the Americans began attacking the Cuban Revolution. And the Cubans refer to it as the October crisis, because this nuclear-tip standoff was really just another attack from the U.S. they had to fend off. The story's got everything.
