Hey guys, welcome to the Killing the Tea podcast. This is Gare and Kate. And we are going to be discussing all things, chills, thrills, and kills. Kate and I are going to be talking about our favorite books, TV shows and movies that are in the thriller or crime fiction genre, as well as some reading habits and other items related to how we met on Bookstagram that will fit in with this podcast. So,
Thank you so much for joining us, and we hope that you have fun and get totally terrified.
Okay, so this is going to be a first because I am recommending something that's technically a comedy.
It's a dark comedy, though.
And it is The Good Place, which I watched it on Hulu, but I can't remember which TV platform that means it's from.
I think it was ABC, wasn't it?
ABC or NBC?
You can watch.
This says watch on Netflix, but I know it didn't air on Netflix.
I don't know.
Nobody's going to watch it on the original show or channel it was on anyway, right?
I mean, we all just stream nowadays.
Right.
And IMDV's main link says Netflix.
So we'll say Netflix for the sake of watching it now.
The description is for people and their otherworldly frenemie struggle in the afterlife to
define what it means to be good.
Okay. That is a very vague sentence.
But it is like it's a dark philosophical, sometimes dark, sometimes philosophical,
sometimes straight up goofy comedy that similar to how you said euphoria storytelling is
similar in structure to a thriller.
The seasons always like have a huge twist.
at the end that makes everything else, like, mean something totally else to you.
Like, they made it. It's kind of like Westworld too. Westworld does that. We're like,
that's part of the storytelling structure every single season is you're kind of trying to,
like, get ahead of what you're seeing by trying to guess, like, what the twist is going to be.
But this show probably brought up more emotions for me than any show I've ever watched.
It just is a really wide range of funny.
And then sometimes like heartbreaking,
but you get so attached to all the characters and the satire is just on point.
Now, if you don't want to question your faith very much,
this show's not for you.
I will say that.
And it's not that it's rude and it's not that it's mean.
but it is very much like
leaning into the idea that we don't actually know anything.
So there's my disclaimer.
Well, after this episode, I'm beginning to think I don't know anything.
Me too.
I've heard such good things about it.
Again, the cast, fantastic.
Yes, the cast is so.
I love, well, I love Kristen Bell, Camila Jamil.
And then head dancing.
Head dancing.
And then William Jackson Harper is amazing as cheating.
He's so good and so funny.
It is the cast.
The cast brings it together.
Yeah.
But the storytelling is like a thriller.
And then like it's basically a dark comedy 30 minute episodes.
So you might like it if you like thrillers.
Well, I do.
I do, I do.
I might have to check it out because that sounds really good.
Yeah.
And I've heard really good things about it.
I actually think that it was canceled on TV and perhaps Netflix bought it.
Did they do the final?
Yeah, maybe they did the final season.
I can't remember.
Yeah.
I think I mean, I remember hearing something like that.
So perhaps.
But that's always a good indicator, right?
You know, nothing against it.
but like ABC NBC shows like that they care a lot about viewership um and you know your Netflix
Hulu things like that they care about like wrapping up storylines for their fans so they do
in most cases yeah not all though did you ever watch the show Sinsate probably too sci-fi that was
like the one Netflix show where it got canceled and we had no resolution yeah
And I love it.
It was on my list because I heard that there were a lot of, like, queer storylines that I were, like, I was interested.
Yeah, some really beautiful ones.
Like, everything about the show is beautiful, though.
You just fall in love with the character so much.
If there's a show with, like, a queer storyline, I just don't watch it at this point because I fall in love with them and they get canceled.
Like, looking on HBO got canceled.
Generation on HBO got canceled.
queer as folk on Peacock got canceled
and it's just like, why do the streaming services
hate the gays? Give us something.
I was actually just reading an article about that
earlier this week.
I can't remember what.
Did I write it?
No, but actually,
that was what I wanted to tell you about that email.
The email I got about The Hunter,
she also sent me like,
here's what some other people have been saying.
And she sent the She Reads article
that you wrote about
debut authors in
2023. So someone sent me
one of your links to be like, hey, other
people have talked about it. I was like, oh my God,
that is so cool.
Yeah, I know. I need to forward it to you
so you can see it. It was kind of cool.
Oh my God, that's so cool.
I know, and I saw it right before we started recording.
Oh, my God. I know.
That's awesome. That's so crazy.
Yeah. The world gets smaller,
sometimes. I'm going to segue off you because I'm just feeling like I'm so good at this lately.
If you like comedy, dark comedy, drama, thriller, mystery, all of those things, and you have not watched Desper
Housewives, what are you doing with your life? That's a good point. Desperer Housewives is one of those
shows that I watched because I thought it was going to be like funny and entertaining and I thought it
was going to be like a half hour kind of, what's that called that I'm thinking of?
Cigom.
Yep.
That's exactly it.
Yep.
And it was everything but.
Like this show, I love how like there's like mystery and comedy.
And there were some like pretty creepy things that happened.
And the way that they blend together, the suspense and the mystery and the comedy, it's one
those shows I need to watch again because I just loved it so much.
That's what I was just thinking. I mean, it was just fantastic and I watched it with
my family and like that's like some of like my favorite memories are like making sure that we
were all together to like watch Desper Housewives. I love that. Because my parents are the best
TV partners ever. It is cool that you guys have so many like similarities in common.
Like my dad will never admit this
But like he is like my like
Like he would rather watch the real houseways with me than my mother would
Oh I love that
Like he's like but he's very specific with the cities
Oh okay
My mom will watch like my mom will like watch all of them
She won't pick it but like she like loves Potomac
Yes
And my dad loves
Beverly Hills
He loves Beverly Hills and Salt Lake City
And he used to like Orange County
Yeah, I would feel like
I don't know, I don't think anybody
is like Orange County now
I think that's a collective feeling
Yeah
Oh my gosh
Yeah, desperate housewives
I know I was just trying to figure out
Where it is now
Who?
It says watch on free V
I don't know what that means
I don't know what free V is
I don't know what Tobe is
I don't know what like half
Yeah if it says it's free somewhere
I assume that there's ads
or like some sort of like scam where you have to like send in like a blood sample or something.
And then like then you're in prison and I don't want to do that.
Oh my gosh.
I don't trust.
I have very severe trust issues.
So if it says it's free, it's not.
Yeah.
I don't believe that at all.
Ever.
Probably Hulu though.
I don't assume it's only one of the main ones.
I'll find it somewhere.
It was so good.
I loved it.
How many seasons were there?
Eight.
Eight.
Whoa.
And the men.
Yeah.
There are a lot of.
I mean, Jesse Metcalfe.
Uh-huh.
What was Mr. Solis?
What was his name?
Ricardo
Chevira
Yeah
Carlos
Carlos
I loved Carlos
I loved Tom Scovo
Mm-hmm
Yep
So there is some
eye candy
And there is
jaw dropping moments
If you have not watched
Desper Housewives
You do not know
what you're doing
With your life
Especially for that time period
It was like
Even now I'd be like
Holy shit
I can't believe that happened
Right
Especially on
cable TV. That's where I was
Yeah. More like HBO.
Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Except there was no nudity or swearing, so.
No actual nude.
Do you know what would be so much fun, though,
as if HBO did remake Desper Housewives?
That's a really good idea.
Like, could you picture it?
Like, oh, my God, it would be so good.
Like Linda Cardalini,
Jessica Chastain,
Sarah Michelle Geller,
you know?
I haven't thought about this.
Gabrielle Union.
I just literally made that cast in my head.
Jessica Alba.
You forgot all of them.
Yeah, that would be.
Just send him a pitch.
I know, right?
You're like, this is an idea I had.
Yeah.
So that's, yeah, if you haven't watched Desper Housewives,
watch all eight seasons of Desper Housewives.
And then when you're like, oh, my God,
what do I do next with my life?
Read everything that May Cobb is written.
That's exactly who I thought you were going to say.
Yeah.
My girl.
So, such a good comparison.
Yeah.
I always got to sneak in some makeup love.
I know.
Because she's.
Her new cover is so cool.
So good.
I love it.
She's amazing.
I'm obsessed.
I just think that she's.
She's so nice.
You know, big May fans here.
Mm-hmm.
Well, I,
I have another one, but this one again, I don't know how I could segue to this from Desperate Housewives.
So you win the segways this evening.
But Mr. Robot, which says it's on Prime Video now, it was on USA.
I've talked about it before a little bit, but the description is Elliot, a brilliant but highly unstable young cybersecurity engineer and vigilante hacker becomes a key figure and a common.
complex game of global dominance when he and his shadowy allies try to take down the corrupt
corporation he works for.
That's a good summary.
And it's very much a psychological thriller.
It's another one where almost every season there's a structure where there's a huge reveal
at the end.
Even if it's just like you've been really waiting to figure out who someone
is but often the end of the first season was is like literally jaw dropping and then they still do
that multiple multiple more seasons in a row and they i think it's four seasons or five it's either four
it's four seasons but kind of similar to breaking bad as well like they only wanted to write four
seasons and they wanted to just write four really good seasons so you get a great ending
The ending like fits the show.
There's so much action in it.
There's a lot of like betrayal and like figuring out who you actually can really trust.
And it's just like a very mind bending show.
And Rami Rami, Rami Mellick is amazing.
I love him.
I love him so much.
Like we were such fans and then we saw Bukini and Rhapsody.
and we're even bigger fan.
Oh my gosh, he killed it in that movie, too.
I need to watch Mr. Robot.
Maybe if I finished Mayor of Kingstown.
Mm-hmm.
I'll need something like that I really want to settle in on.
I...
Did you end up watching Ozark, by the way?
I'm going to ask you that earlier.
No.
Okay.
Mm-mm.
That's fine.
I just remembered.
I'm just thinking of that, like, period.
Mm-hmm.
But, like, I want to say, like,
I kept getting bloodline and Ozark mixed up because they came out at the same time and they like had relatively like, you know, like Netflix shows.
Yep.
Big male lead.
Yeah.
And I'm like, I don't know.
Like, I don't know why I didn't like, I was like, which one should I start first?
And I think I ended up like starting like Riverdale to be honest with you.
Because like that's like, that's like more like I just like love a teeny bopper show.
Yeah.
And I will forever be a teeny bopper.
Mm-hmm, at heart.
But I really want to watch Mr. Robot now.
It is so good.
I don't have to be as, like, tech-savvy or, like, tech-smart as you are to understand it, right?
No, it's a lot more.
The thriller part is a lot more psychological than it is related to, like, anything.
You don't have to know how to code.
Cool.
And the acting is just phenomenal.
There's because Amanda Saferied is one of the main characters as well.
And then his sister, who plays his sister, Carly Chakin, she's amazing too.
I'm a really big...
How did I not know Amanda Safe Reed was in that?
Yeah, she's like in the first few seasons.
Oh, no, I'm wrong.
I'm wrong.
I'm completely wrong.
It's Portia Doubleday.
who looks like Amanda Safrean.
Oh my God.
I love Porsche Double Day.
Yeah.
She's in click on her IMDB and she literally played one of the villains in the remake of Carrie.
And I was like,
you are such a good, like, bitchy villains.
Yes.
Yeah.
She's amazing.
She has a really cool character.
Oh, my God.
And like everything is really full circle.
She's really fashionable too.
Her character has some really cool fashion.
So, like, Carly Shaghan is Darlene, his sister.
And she is technically whose fashion I would actually wear.
Portia is, like, fancy.
Fancy.
Yeah.
I'm into it.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
This is like next stop.
Like, this is like, like, I don't even know if I want to finish me.
that the ending is satisfactory.
That I enjoy too.
And it didn't get canceled, so
that always helps.
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
And we love a good vigilante.
Always.
Always.
Speaking of vigilantes.
Oh, you did it again.
My homeboy,
Dexter Morgan,
delivered season after season
of incredible television.
Dexter was just the bomb.com.
I mean, he was a blood pattern specialist
who is a vigilante serial killer
who gets rid of the scum of the earth
and just is like the cutest little, like, weirdo ever.
I know.
He's like a little weird, a little creepy at times.
Yeah.
Still attractive.
I just love Dexter.
And like you've said,
Yeah, I feel like that's like a theme too is like for the shows that we are discussing that have multiple seasons.
It's always like there's, you know, character arcs, but there's also like every season of these shows has like one big storyline that they like wrap up and then like other things that continue throughout the show.
And for me personally, Dexter is one of those shows that did that like the best.
I agree.
They did.
I love Dexter.
It's what we're talking about, too, is the difference between serial television and episodic television.
So episodic, everything gets wrapped up in one episode.
And you're like, cool.
And you move on and you almost don't need the other episodes for context.
Serialized television is my favorite.
And it's where like that broad, long story can happen over eight hours.
I almost put the extra on my list.
I was kind of thinking.
you were going to serialize.
What's it called?
Serialized television versus episodic.
Episodic.
Episodic is everything gets resolved.
So a lot of sitcoms are episodic.
Everything gets resolved.
You feel good at the end of it.
But also shows like law and order.
I haven't seen law and order, but I feel like I've heard law and orders like procedural.
And like you kind of, you kind of wrap up the episode at,
the end versus like the fall is so serialized. Like you don't feel like you're wrapping stuff up each
episode. Yep. Yep. That makes sense. God, what a little baby genius. This was, I remember like
when I met Tyler, that was when I started watching more TV. Actually, Dexter was the first show
I ever binge watched because he had the DVDs. Bruce just came in and growled at Harley. Stop it.
So yeah, Dexter.
It was the first one I ever binge watched.
It was one of the first shows that I ever binge watched with my mom
because she's like the best TV partner.
Yeah.
I love that.
Yeah.
It was one of the, I think like the OC was like the first one that we did.
But like I remember like Dexter like I think it was right before the fourth season with
John Lithgow and like everybody was talking about it.
And they were like the fourth season of this show is going to be.
so good. And it was before the premiere. So like that summer, we binge the first three seasons
before like the four seasons started. And then from there, we just watched it like episode by
episode. But yeah, I will never regret watching Dexter. Yeah. One of the first gifts I got,
Tyler was we still have it was a set of coasters that's like blood spatter patterns. They're like,
they look like glass. They look like his slides. Yeah.
And so there's, like, glass coasters and there's, like, blood spatters on it.
And it was the first gift if I got him.
That's the coolest thing ever.
Yeah.
Did I just disappear for a second?
What?
Did I just disappear for a second?
Mm-mm.
Okay, good.
Adobe was trying to update, and I was like, go out of here.
I'm like, I don't need to read a PDF right now.
Yeah.
Yeah, Dexter is amazing.
Dexter is, like, just, like, a little serial killer show that gives everybody.
many good memories apparently.
It really does.
I have so many good memories about.
I just love Vigilani shows.
So now I'm really excited for Mr.
Romney.
Because I was just listening to the episode.
I don't know where I was going
or what day it was, but I was listening to the episode
where you and I were like talking about like Batman.
Yeah.
Because you were asking me like what superhero movies I've watched
or what ones I like.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I can't segue away all over years.
I don't like a key act.
She's not necessarily a vigilante.
I love segwaying.
I know.
Can you just be the smart friend and I can be like the segue friend?
Yeah.
I think you have to be smart to segue though, too.
You just have to think on your toes.
Yes.
I'm proof you don't have to be a genius of segue.
I guess so.
My next one is orphan black,
which was a BBC show.
But it's on Prime Video now.
And the synopsis is a streetwise hustler is pulled into a compelling conspiracy
after witnessing the suicide of a girl who looks just like her.
So that describes the first episode for the most part.
It is a good description of the first episode.
but I don't think it's giving anything away at this point to say.
She discovers this first character you meet discovers that she actually has, is a clone, is one of a bunch of clones.
Because she sees someone die in front of her who looks exactly like her.
So she starts like looking into it.
And she discovers she's one of a few clones.
and there's like obviously a bad guy that's like trying to use them to his benefit
and they're kind of always trying to outsmart these people that are trying to manipulate the
situation.
So it kind of feels like a spy show and a sci-fi show.
It's not a spy show, but like it has the same kind of action and like trying to figure
stuff out.
Like investigating people.
so like you kind of are spying.
You just wouldn't call it a spy show.
I think I talked myself into a corner.
It's action pack too, right?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
And Tadiana Moslini is impeccable.
She basically gives eight performances that are extremely distinct.
It's some of the most impressive acting I've ever seen.
I've heard really good things about that show.
Mm-hmm.
And I'm all about, like, listen,
like, you can have whatever you want as a plot,
but acting can really drive a show.
Yes.
So good for her, for being...
She's so talented.
Mm-hmm.
I'm a big fan.
Ooh, there are some queer storylines in it as well.
Really?
Multiple.
So you're saying there's handsome men.
They're definitely handsome men.
I love that.
Sign me up.
It's good.
It's great.
I've like, I don't know.
I just like now just I'm in the mood to rewatch like everything that is on my list and watch everything that's on your list.
Yeah.
So now I'm just kind of like, okay.
I don't know what I'm going to do with my life other than just binge watch TV.
I know.
I would love that
I would love to watch
I'll watch that
but I've got one
that's gonna blow your mind
if you haven't watched this show
I think I might
no no we're still friends
if you haven't watched this show
did you imagine I'm like yeah
see ya
if you haven't watched this show and you give it a chance
I think that I could possibly
introduce you
to your next TV
obsession.
Like, I could see you being like,
like, I wouldn't hear from you for a week.
And you'd be like, this is your fault.
Yeah.
I'm like not getting any sleep.
Yeah.
No, you just won't.
I mean, you'll want to just, I'm obsessed with this show.
I actually fell off with it.
But like, one of my goals is to restart it from the beginning and continue on.
Have you ever heard of the show, Animal Kingdom?
I've seen one season of it as well or part of a season.
I can't remember.
I think I watched a few, a few.
Yeah.
It is just drama, action, twists and turns, reveals sexy, just incredible.
And there's some like interesting family dynamics, right?
Very.
Very.
Then I'm remembering.
Yeah.
remembering.
Basically, it's about, like, I want to say he's, like, probably a junior or senior in high school.
Don't quote me on it.
But there's, it's about a boy whose mother dies of a heroin overdose.
And he sent to Southern California to live with his relatives, which would be his
estranged grandmother and three or four uncles, which normally would be pretty big transatlantic.
for a kid, but in his case,
his grandmother and her sons make their way through life by planned armed robberies.
Yeah.
So there's your crime fiction.
He kind of like gets, you know, involved with the family.
And, you know, I think that when you are, when you're involved with things like that,
it's kind of one of those things where like the uncles aren't like.
like necessarily like welcoming him with open arms after his mother's right because they're just
kind of like we don't trust anybody you're on our inner circle um and the grandmother's a badass
Ellen Barkin is a badass so yes she's my I love her we yeah I remember watching it and I don't know
why I stopped to be honest I don't know why I stopped either that's so interesting and I want
to read, I want to redo it. I want to
restart it and I want to watch it from the beginning
and I want to like wrap it up and just
I mean the brothers
they're hot.
I was the little trailer. There's one that
there's one that's Jason Momoa
ask. Yes.
He has like he's like very tall and
like muscular and hot
and he has like long hair.
Ben Robson.
Craig Cody. Yeah.
Yep.
Yeah, he looks nice. See?
Got lots of recommendations with Hotman.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Let's be honest, I'm never going to recommend a TV show or a movie that doesn't have at least one character that I want to sleep with.
Probably not. That's a good point. That I can guarantee.
Yeah. Now, I'm going to try to, I'm going to want to try to think. I'm going to be like, I can think of a movie, but I don't think I can.
I'm just being playing devil's advocate.
Nope.
You can't find one.
I'm trying to think of a segue.
I don't have a segue for this one either.
So I'm just like staring into nothing.
Okay.
So my last one, actually, because I had yellow jackets too,
but we've all had that one.
My last one is West.
world, even though, as I've discussed before on the podcast, it did not give us a fifth and
final season.
And I will say with a caveat, the ending is in a cliffhanger.
So if you are really into twisty, psychological, sci-fi thrillers that kind of also are a little bit satirical,
it's still worth watching and like very action-packed
and it has that similar structure where each season
you're trying to figure something out
and then there's like a huge paradigm shift at the end
and so it is a treat
every single season
is really different
two so it's the same characters
but they change so much between seasons
that it almost feels like an anthology
series
in that like the whole world
perspective will change even though it's the same characters.
So I, it was one of my favorite TV shows of all time.
I wish we got our fifth season.
But if you don't know what it's about,
it is it says at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past
weights a world in which every human appetite can be indulged without consequence.
So people, it's like going to play a real life video game with robots that you're killing.
But are they robots or are they people?
And when does AI turn into consciousness?
Like those kind of questions.
So it's amazing.
It's sad we didn't get another season, but it's still really, really good TV.
I've heard really good things about it.
And I was going to.
watch it, but I don't think I can put myself through being addicted to a show like that and having a
cliffhanger. Yeah. Yeah. They're really, you could definitely, there's not a cliffhanger. I will say
that. Like, other seasons had cliffhangers. This one, they either could have extended the story or not.
And it still had like a, it still had a triumphant feeling to the end. So thankfully, it wasn't
like we were really waiting like John Snow. Oh, no, you don't watch Game of Thrones. Everyone.
I should one day, but I just don't know.
I mean, it's a lot.
It is a lot. It's a lot of commitment.
Yeah. So like, if you have a lot of time, sure.
And nothing to fill it with.
I think to fill it with. Well, I actually think that maybe I will check out Westworld.
I heard there's a lot of trigger warnings for that, though.
Yeah. There's a lot of violence and rape.
even though the rape scenes are technically sometimes with robots.
Robots.
Yeah.
But it's still, I guess, even if it's a robot, it's still like man wanting to like living that fantasy.
Exactly.
And the whole point is kind of like asking ourselves like if you're wanting to do that, does it matter what you're saying?
Does it matter if you're doing it to a person or something that looks at.
like a person. Yeah, it's just your intention. Yeah. So it really, it also explores the fact that the
park, it's kind of like a video game, uh, brings out the worst in people. And so there's like a lot
of exploration of what that darkness is. You really want to watch it. You would love the themes.
And there are some hot guys. All right. I'm putting on my list and Aaron Paul's in the final
season. Who's one of my faves.
Do I know Aaron Paul?
Breaking Bad, so probably not.
I don't know what you would have seen him in otherwise.
I never watched Breaking Bad.
And who are we?
We were just talking about.
You and I were just talking about her.
Tessa Thompson is another big thing.
Oh, yes. I love her.
It is stunning, especially in the last season.
and she is a really powerful performance.
I'm into it.
It is great.
And I don't think you would be,
I especially don't think you would be disappointed
with how season four ends.
So. Okay.
I think you'd fine with the ending.
And I'll add it to my list.
Yeah.
Wait.
Wasn't it,
was it you or did I like randomly read this somewhere
that like somebody said something to the effect of
not only did you not give us a fifth season of West
world, but you also, like, they're not going to be, um, it's not going to be available on HBO anymore.
Yeah. I saw that. I don't know if I sent it to you, but I saw that headline this week too.
Like, nobody knows why they're taking it off their platform.
Hmm. Where does it? Maybe it was a rumor.
This is available on prime. But you have to buy it. So yeah, I don't know what's going on with it.
You'll have to.
That's strange. Maybe wait until they figure themselves.
out.
There was something else.
There was another show. There were two shows.
If it was euphoria, I'm going to lose my shit.
It's not euphoria. I would remember that.
Yeah.
Well, that would be really stupid of them, too.
Yeah.
They're removing Westworld.
Oh, none of these are finding magic.
Like, I didn't even know that was on HBO, so I guess Westworld's the main one.
I mean, it sounds nice.
Yeah.
I actually couldn't find something to watch the other night.
Well, I probably could have.
I couldn't decide on something to watch the other night.
And I was thinking of this episode.
And I was thinking of the first show that came to mind.
So obviously saving the best for last.
Nice.
And I restarted recently NipTuck.
Oh yeah
I added that to my watch
Because
NipTuck
Something I love about it
Is that it is both serialized
And episodic
Nice
I see what you did there
So
What I mean
I just love this show
It's like dark
It's sexy
It's funny
There's a very hot doctor
You're gonna literally
watch like probably the first five minutes and be like, I know exactly who he like is in love with
in this show. Yeah, probably. It's on Hulu and it is about two men who are friends and they are
plastic surgeons, but they're very opposite. Like one of them is very structured, very strict and
the other one's like the playboy, like the fun guy. And each episode is named after a patient. So
you kind of have like a little character arc within that patient.
But every season has that big mystery or big bad guy or some sort of villain.
And they do a really good job of like, you know, it's not like every villain's a serial killer or like every villain.
They're all very, very different stories, you know.
Yeah.
But it's just like one of the best shows.
in the entire world.
I think that you would absolutely love it.
I remember we watched a few episodes when I was in college,
but I think it was just the first season.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, the first season's like really good.
Obviously, like it's aged.
But first season's really good.
But like second season is when shit gets like really dark and weird.
And then third season, there's a serial killer.
And it's one of the creepiest things I have ever seen.
in my entire life.
Oh.
And then, like, that's kind of, like, why I started watching it because I was watching, like,
a random episode, I think, in season two where they kind of introduced this, like, serial killer
that's going to be prominent in the show.
But then I was, like, watching it.
I was like, wow, this is, like, really good and, like, really weird.
And, like, the, like, cast is, like, super sexy.
Yeah.
So I was, like, watching it.
And I was just, like, wow, like, this is really, really good.
And then by the time I, like,
finish that season and found out who that killer was.
I was so invested in all of the main characters that I just had to continue watching and I was not disappointed once.
I love shows like that.
And some of the, like you can see when it gets popular because some of the guest stars are like spectacular, you know.
Oh, nice.
That is fun.
Yeah.
I love Samka Jensen.
Mm-hmm.
And she plays like a really big role, I think, in like season two.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Sometimes there are people that have like a season arc.
Yeah.
Yeah.
She's just fantastic in it.
But yeah, it's such a good show.
And I love it.
And if you haven't watched it, then you should watch it.
And if you have watched it, now is a good time for you to start it all over again and just relive the memories because a rewatch will not disappoint.
point you when it comes to nip talk i love it i need to just initially watch it now yeah i do have an
honorable mention nice go for it this was like on my list but i was like um we talked about some
like really like heavy hitters and like some like amazing television tonight but um i was a huge
fan because I love teeny boffers. I was a huge fan of pretty little liars. Oh yeah. And I thought it was like
twist kind of structure too. Yeah. And I really loved the show. And it was really dark for being on like
ABC family or free form or whatever it was. Yeah. So I used to love it. I would probably rewatch it
someday just because it's like cheesy fun entertainment. Yeah. But I will say
original like the pretty little liars original sin on hboh is spectacular if you love pretty little liars if you
love like slasher movies you will love this show but you it's not connected to the original show so
like don't think that you have to watch like six or seven seasons of pretty little liars to like
fully appreciate yeah pretty little liars original sin so that's my little like honorable mention
That's a good one
I thought I had one
but yellow jackets
might have been the one where I was like
I bet we'll both have it
I thought we would both have yellow jackets and Dexter
Yeah
Maybe Dexter was my other one
I just didn't write it down
because I remember looking at it and being like
Because you type yours out
Yeah I do
Yeah
And I write mine on a posto
That's so tiny
That's like our little like
Oh, do you have, do you save all of them?
No, no.
I just have to cross things out so that I know what I talked about.
So I don't mention it multiple times.
But usually I'm just like, because I put my phone on, do not disturb and I try not to be on my phone.
But like you have the dual screen set up.
So like it's easy for you to just like kind of like click over.
And for me, I'm like, I'm like, I'm just going to have my little post at my little.
my little purple post-at.
Oh, I love it.
So that is my old-school way of making my lists and checking them twice.
You write in pencil or a pin?
Pen. I am not a pencil boy at all.
The smudge stresses me out.
Smudge, I don't like the scratchy.
Even like that great bottle theme.
No, not a fan.
Not a fan.
