Let's not use that term.
It's a little...
Improvement.
I was at a bar on Friday, and I was...
I've done some margar research.
This is going to be huge.
And I'm like, look really close at that martini.
I see it.
I see it.
It was perfect.
I'm like, this is everything.
I love it.
Four more chapters of sex randomly.
Really?
I felt like there was just enough sex.
The sex.
But, you know, sometimes...
I'm like, how many more positions can there be?
And they would come up with another one.
I mean...
Holy mother of fuck nuggets.
Buckle of literature fans.
We're in for some boozy bookgasms today.
Join three cousins creating a titillating headspace
where steamy romance novels collide with strong cocktails.
So, sit back, sip slow, and enjoy.
the ride.
Hi everyone. I'm Jen. I'm Kim.
And I'm Lynn.
And we are going to be discussing a very hot and spicy book today.
The title is The Perfect Fit by author Sadie Kincaid.
Our tropes today are, this is a standalone, dark why choose romance with the male, female,
male, male.
There is sword crossing in this one.
I like to clarify that when I'm talking reverse harem.
and an epic gravel, which we'll get to.
Trigger warnings, there is consensual, non-consensual,
knife play, blood play, and as previous sexual assault is referenced,
but very minimally.
So let's get started with our cocktail.
What are we drinking tonight, ladies?
All right.
So today, in honor of our leading lady,
who uses the term fucknugget to an extreme,
We are doing a fucknugget champagne cocktail tonight.
The way of I have made it tonight is a glass of champagne with a nice cherry on top.
The little grenadine goes down very smooth.
I'm drinking Lamarca tonight.
That's a really good choice in an economic downturn.
You can't always have Vuv.
It's like, you know, we're all making sacrifices here.
Lamarca is going to have to do sometimes.
It's just everyday wine.
So we start out with an intro to our female main character, which I may shorten to FMC
because it's hard for me to say those three words in a row.
But her name is Lily and she is a bike messenger.
And our opening chapter, she is biking to deliver a package to a really fancy building.
And we in quick succession meet our three main male characters, which I'll refer to as MMCs.
Our first one is Xander, and he is like, from what I pictured him as kind of a pretty boy.
They refer to him as Fitch because he looks like an Abercrombian Fitch model.
Then we meet West.
He is the just sort of like hot and powerful CEO type.
The last main male character we meet is Zeeke.
He is dark and broody tattoos everywhere.
but like a major sex pot, hot body.
She runs into him on the street and is immediately attracted to him.
So she kind of comments to herself, oh, my gosh, I just met three of the hottest guys I've ever seen in my entire life.
And later that day, her girlfriend talks her into going to a nightclub that those three happen to own.
And they happen to be there when she arrives.
And through a series of events, she ends up in the VIP booth with them.
and they get rid of her friend by talking her,
one of their bouncers into convincing her he's a movie star,
and he swips her away.
And so they win and dine her all night.
And they really hit it off.
She gets a little wastey on champagne, of course, her drink of choice.
And then Zander offers to take her home.
So she gets back to her place with Zander,
and he won't, okay, so we, you know,
I was mentioning this to you guys before, but like often in these romance novels, it's like a source of pride that they will not take advantage of a drunk young lady.
And Xander is no different.
He will not do that.
It goes against what he believes in.
He does make out with her a little bit, but she offers him to come upstairs.
He politely declines.
And then he does ask her to go to dinner with him and the two other guys the next night.
well i will say just as like an aside like the three of them getting their bouncer to portray a fake
movie star to get rid of the friend was kind of ingenious but also like so i just thought it was so
funny like who is this girl that she really thinks this guy is a movie star and it goes home with that
and then they end up falling in love in the book i mean that is true like it's sort of an interesting
subplot yeah but that's because they have to move in because they all
also fake a roach infestation.
Yeah, that's coming.
Well, we're not there yet.
All right.
We back out just like a hot second.
How many bike messengers are getting invited to the VIP lounge?
Well, I mean, in this particular case, right?
Like she goes in, she like has the package, like the guy sees her.
She has the package.
Who has a whole package?
Who has a package?
Oh, great.
Min is having a good job.
Really once, really is like going to take the package for her.
She is like super like committed to her job.
I will not give you this package.
The person who it's for has to sign it, right?
Which is another one of our main characters comes up.
They both think she's hot.
So she ends up with this club and they're like honed in.
They know that this is a girl for her as a guy's hitting on her and she punches them in the face, right?
So like all like this is the first few chapters.
There's a lot going on here.
But I need it.
Very strong.
Like before we even get.
to like what the hell this thing is about, right?
You've got her meeting a bunch of guys.
Her friend is duped by this bouncer who's like a movie star.
And then, uh, and then she basically like makes out with one of our main male characters.
But he wasn't, didn't want to come in because he needed all three of them, right?
We haven't introduced the fact that the three men are a couple and they are looking for
their fourth to make it a couple.
I think he would have been down if she wasn't hammered.
He said it's, well, oh, and I quote.
Don't think for a second.
It's because I don't want to, Shorty.
And it's taking all of my goddamn restraint not to slip my hand inside your panties
and find out how wet you are, Lily.
He was going to do it if she wasn't wasted, I think.
But you got to appreciate that as a romance novel because there's a lot of dirt.
It is very chivalrous.
Thank God that they're like chivalrous, yeah.
Right?
All right.
So, okay.
So Lily decides she's going to go to dinner and they tell her to plan to stay overnight.
and she packs a bag. She's very trusting of these three men very quickly, but they're super hot,
and she seems to be down for anything anyway. So, of course, they're billionaires,
not sure where all these billionaires were when I was looking.
But these romance novels are like a dime a dozen. So she found three. Just like, no problem.
Just like in the same day, right? She was all three of them in the same day.
We're all too successful. If we were bike messengers.
Is that what it takes?
Maybe that's what it takes.
But I will say that her character is really interesting to me because she comes off as this
sort of like shy, quiet.
She doesn't want to go to the bar.
Her friend has to like basically like drag her to this place.
But then she's like, oh, we'll all come to your penthouse with three hot men to
see what happens.
Like it's just such a she has a very interesting like pushpole for me where she's like
kind of innocent but also just like.
to basically like have sex with three men in one time like good for her but very interesting like
that's so funny that you think she comes across innocent because my perception is she comes across
reserved but not in a I don't think she's naive I think she's reserved in the fact that like
let's test the waters yeah but not anything anybody that's packing an overnight bag to go shack up
with three one I just got afraid my mom for right from the get I could tell she was
down.
DT.
She was ready.
I'm over there hoping to do that.
Well, I think that's fair.
Like reserved but not innocent.
And we'll get into why she maybe isn't innocent later.
Because obviously she has a, she has a backstory.
Okay.
All right.
So they, Zander meets her at the elevator looking hot A.F.
And he calls her Shorty again and kind of locks this in as her nickname.
Very common in reverse heroines.
They all have a little nickname.
name for her. So eventually West will call her princess and Zeke will call her baby doll and buttercup.
He'll have two names for her. So they drink. They have a fabulous time. She sticks to soda on
account of kind of being hung over from the night before and getting too wastey. So she keeps her
composure, but they have a wonderful evening. And then Xander says, let's get to the point.
we would all like to date you.
And she says all of you, so she's kind of now realizing these three men are in a relationship
together and they're looking for a woman to join them.
So they propose this opportunity to her.
And she's a little turned on.
She's a little interested, but she wants to think it over.
So they say take the weekend to think about it.
And West was a little jealous because he found out Zander got to kiss her the night before.
So he walks her to her room.
And she's a little horned up because she was like, hey, how do you know we're going to be compatible sexually?
How do we even know?
And he ends up like giving her an orgasm before bed.
A good night orgasm, if he will.
I mean, if you're offering like, yeah.
Didn't Zander do the same thing?
I thought she got an orgasm.
Yeah, she, like two guys made it down her pants by day.
No, Zaver just kissed her.
Oh.
I gotta go back to that one because go back.
He was just a kiss.
He said he wanted to.
But he wanted to.
Right, right, right.
But he was too chivalrous to take advantage of a drunk girl.
What did you know?
But not West.
Yeah, not West.
West, well, she wasn't drunk.
I mean, and she was really kind of, you know.
She was there for it.
She was really there for it.
And, yeah, West is like the quintessential billionaire.
like romance novel guy right it's just like happens he's the one i would want for sure totally like
he's definitely like big dick energy like powerful he's the alpha yeah oh yeah alpha yeah yeah he's
yeah he's a little older too isn't he isn't he older than the other two i think by like
seven or eight years yeah he's a little old yeah he's the CEO right if they're like billionaire
company and yeah he's definitely like the guy in charge for the most part yeah so um so
Lily goes home the next morning and oh my goodness there's a cockroach infestation in her apartment.
So her friend who's now with the movie star, I think at this point she knows he's a liar and they've
gotten past it and she likes him anyway.
He offers the roommate to stay with him, but he lives in an efficiency and so there's really
not going to be room for Lily.
She was kind of going to do it anyway.
So she calls him up and says, all right, I'll try this out with you.
guys. This, this part is like, I mean, I love this book because it was like super fast. It was easy to
read. Like it was really like really special. But like this is one of those like hyper speed parts
of the book, right? Like so we're just going to like, we're not going to go into like a chapters of
her deciding. There's no romancing. Within two chapters, it is like, nope, I am here for it. My friend is
going to go over here with the fake movie star within one night. And I'm going to go live with these three
men, it's been 24 hours and like, but it was, it was written really well where it was almost
semi-relievable. We got to the spice real quick. Yeah. You know, this is not a slow burn,
you guys. This is a real quick, let's get right to it. And she moves in or off to the races.
I mean, these, they, everybody's doing it every which away. I mean, sports are crossing.
Things are happening in all kinds of shape, like different formats, if you will. I do,
there is a holdout. Zieg's our holdout. And that's really kind of.
common in a reverse pharaoh and there's always one that kind of makes you work for it.
And it's Zieg because I think he thinks he's too freaky.
He's going to like scare her away.
And there was an opening preamble that was it called a preamble?
Oh, like a prolog.
Yeah.
So there was an opening prologue with a woman that got scared off by Zieg's sexual preferences.
So they kind of allude that that might be the reason that he has decided that,
you know, reticent.
Yeah.
We also have to say, like, they've had 28 women go through this.
Oh, that's a good call out camp.
Yeah.
Yeah, they've been down this road before, and it's almost always the reason that the girls
keep around.
You know, because you got three's company kind of thing, you know, whatever, but you've got one
girl who falls in love with one and not the other two or when they get to jealous when the
two guys are together or you know there's so many dynamics here that and they and the and the three guys like
there is some conversation right like should we do this again like are like better just the three of us and
and they just take a chance on lily right but yeah zeke is he's you said it before like the brooder right
which kind of makes him mysterious and kind of interesting and you kind of know like wanted to like
what's his deal and uh yeah he's he's a very interesting character for me he's very dark he's he seems a little
scary but like in a hot
intriguing way. Yeah. Definitely.
So this is, we do
finally get to their first sex scene.
Wasn't my favor in the book.
Wanted to get your thoughts on it.
So Zeke's got a blood kink apparently
and their first sex scene is on her
period. And he
takes out of tampon.
It looks like a crime scene. I mean,
it's just like,
It was just not my thing.
I wasn't into it.
Zeke was for sure and so was Lily.
I mean, they didn't.
She was all in.
Yeah.
But Zeke's thing is he takes care of you afterwards.
So he was really intense in the scene.
He bites and leaves marks and he's very intense.
But afterwards he draws her a bath and he puts ointment on her injuries.
I'm the only one that.
I was reading it going, oh, my God, you are never getting that shit out of the sheets.
Like, that's pretty embarrassing, like I'm a billionaire.
He's a billionaire, but in my mind, I'm going, that's a lot of blood.
To be honest, that never crossed my mind.
I was not worried about the shit, like the wash afterwards.
But, you know, I think, you know, this is kind of interesting, like the blood kink thing, right, in in these types of books.
And I am not into blood play.
but I feel like the way Sadie Kincaid wrote this scene was actually really like well done.
Like you could believe sort of where Lily was in that scene and that she was sort of comfortable
with him and it got kind of aggressive.
But the fact that he like to care of her afterwards really kind of redeems him in some ways,
right?
Like he has this kink, but he's not like a bad person and he really does like her.
And so I, well, like the kink itself wasn't like incredibly, you know, important for me.
I think it was hot, but I will say I've read other Sadie Kincaid books where the guy takes out the tampon and they do it while she's on her period. Like this isn't the first time she's written a feeling like that. Clearly, Sadie has a thing.
See, but also like that's not, that's not like uncommon for like, you know, people. It's uncommon for me.
Well, I'm going to pass on you getting up there taking on my tampon, but thank you. Yeah, I agree with you. I think I think it was a very,
tastefully done. I think it almost painted like an artistic picture because you could see everything
happening whether you want to do or not. Like a blood splutter picture? No, but you could, but you could figure out,
but like I was in the back of the room, like I'm in the corner of the room going, should I look? Should I not look?
But you have to look. It's like a train wreck. You're going to watch. You're going to watch. You're going to watch. But I agree.
I think it was tastefully done. And it kind of described, it like explains like who this guy is. Because until then,
you're sort of still like trying to figure out like why is he scaring these girls off like
how bad is it right and i think that like it humanizes him in a way that like you feel like
she's not going to leave right and it connects the two of them lily and and him so that the
force and will work at the end it really is the last part of her kind of making that connection
with the guys and then it's it just feels very harmonious and it feels like things are going
great. And so there's there's two major conflicts in the book. One is a romantic conflict. Um,
and then one is this really random like storyline about the mafia. So, uh, the romantic conflict
basically happens when the guys keep asking Lily, she's been, uh, offered a feature article and
she's doing a lot of research about it, but it's confidential and she can't tell them what she's
working on. So they kind of respect that until their Hobag ex-girlfriend,
tells them it's going to be about them and she's going to exploit them and she's going to tell
all their dirty secrets and try to ruin a merger they're working on. And through a series of
just really unfortunate events, they end up believing her. So Lily goes to this really special
opening night where there's a lot of them, right? It's like their party that they're hosting and
she's there as their special guest. This part told me, you guys, I really cried. Like I was like,
This is horrible. But we need to say, too, like, this is not, like, this is not her job. This is her breakout story.
Right. This is her moment. This is her moment. So she wants it perfect. It's, it's a, it's a secret because it is her breakout moment.
Yeah. She just wants it to be perfect. But she's falling in love with them. And she's like, but I just want to keep it secret so I can just make it amazing. And I can't wait to show. She was so eager to show it to them.
Well, she doesn't want them to help her. She doesn't want them to find them.
I thought what it is help her.
She wants to do on her own.
This merger, right, is like their company with her publishing house, right?
So, like, that's, it's such a small piece of the book, but like, it is an important piece
at this moment because they, this ex-girlfriend, right, is like the, is going to say like,
hey, she's trying to ruin you as people.
She's going to say you guys are kinky and like, whatever.
And she's so secretive about this article that they, I think stupidly.
And of course, you have to have conflict in a book, but believe this, as you said, Hobag.
And really, like, they are damaged.
They're all damaged.
And they make such a perfect little damaged tribe, right?
So much love between the three of these guys, both sexually, physically, mentally,
just they are all in love with each other and care about each other.
And they've been hurt so many times or been betrayed so many times in the past.
So here's this one, all it takes is that.
one little drop from this
doubt.
It ruins the whole thing.
And I'm with you, Jen.
My heart,
I don't know why,
but this just,
this killed me.
Like,
it was just so sad to me.
And so they end up completely,
they don't let her in.
They tell her she's not on the list.
They lock her out at the apartment.
They put all her stuff in the basement.
It's humiliating.
They completely humiliate her.
And it's,
It's a pouring rain.
The driver doesn't give her an umbrella.
Her dress gets ruined.
All her industry peers are watching the whole thing happen.
It's just a really humiliating situation.
And she has, and this is the part where I really fall in love with Lily,
despite her frequent use of the word, holy fuck nuggets, which we didn't get to yet.
But she actually has a moment where she loses her dignity.
She's groveling.
She does some pretty embarrassing stuff.
But then she decides, fuck these guys.
They didn't respect me.
I screw them.
I am going to pull my bootstraps up and I am going to have some self-respect.
She ends up leaving the company.
She gets another job.
She gets our own apartment.
She doesn't know what West kind of helped set up the job for her, but she doesn't know that.
And she really gets it on our own merit.
And she gets her own place.
And they try, this is the epic gravel.
heart. They try everything. They try, they buy her a dog. They chase her around in the
well, we haven't even seen. I mean, the dog is like a whole thing, right? So like I feel like the,
the, the where she is just totally, she's in the range. She's like a poor puppy herself, right? Like,
and Zeke is actually the one that comes out and says, go home. You don't belong here. You are a lying,
cheating whore lily. Nobody wants you here. I was like going right. We, we, we know your
story. We know. And like, the thing is, like, this ex-girlfriend is basically, like, see it the fact that
she's awful, right? And, like, Lily has no idea. She goes. She's all dressed up. And Zik is, like,
go away. And it's devastating. He blinks. And the fire is extinguished. Because it also brings back, like,
you know, bad dreams of being in high school and showing up naked, right? Like, you go and you're there.
And then everything just, like, crashes. But then it turns out, right, the story breaks. And she's
written this amazing feature article on the poor yeah the poor treatment of puppies right and so of
course these guys are now devastated when they open the article like they they just complete yeah that
i also cried in that moment because vander always was like you guys let's do this you know we're
not doing this already let's just ask her and they wouldn't they had to do it the way they did it
which was really make her hurt.
And when he realized that she didn't do anything wrong, like his guilt, I hurt for Xander.
Well, Zander was the one.
I mean, he was the first one to kiss her and like walk her to her apartment.
And he did say the whole time, like, are you sure?
Are you sure?
Are we doing the right thing?
And I was like a little annoyed.
He didn't have a bigger backbone to say, like, we're doing this wrong, right?
There's so many other ways to handle what they did.
And they obviously did not handle it, right?
but you needed the conflict in the book, but it was tragic.
What's that saying?
Broken breaks or something like that?
So I think that was their revenge.
Her people, her people.
Poignant.
Very poignant.
Yeah.
But I mean, but fair, right?
They were hurt and they were hurt, but they lashed out.
But the most infuriating part is like, these are like successful rich guys.
Like, just fucking ask her, you know, like so angry.
you know, they were in love with her and then, but, you know, one seat of doubt just
salooned.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But it was really tough.
This threw me.
I know you guys.
Like they started adopting dogs.
Like they're rolling.
So they close all the puppy mills.
We should say that everything she mentioned in her article.
The guys went to put them all down sort of in a,
in a kind of a like rough and tough kind of way.
Like a mobster.
Yeah.
Like mafia.
style like
brute force.
They just show up and like yeah,
strong arm these puppy mills.
But I mean, so cute.
I mean, it's like the epic grovel with puppies.
I mean, how can you work on?
This book had everything.
Come on.
But she doesn't.
And I,
and like I applaud her because if I'm standing in the rain
getting saturated and these people are just breaking my heart
in front of industry professionals.
I know I'm just like I'm not going to just turn around
and get in a car. I'm going to be yelling and screaming and throwing a hissy fit. And if they even
remotely come back, I don't care what they're doing. Well, what's the, and that's what's just what they
tried to do, right? They find out, they find out that they were wrong. They go grovel and she's like,
screw you. Like I, which good for her, right? She finally gets a backbone. Yeah, which, which I mean,
mad respect her. She did. And I mean, months went by. She took, she got her own place. She did a lot of
things independently. She made it. And then Zeke comes over. Oh, our blood play guy. Yeah. And he basically
asks her to stab him. And he gets on his ease. And he says, I want you to make me feel something,
Lily. I've spent the last two months completely numb. And I can't fucking stand it anymore.
I'm already bleeding. Every single second without you is torture.
I need you to make it hurt so I can feel something real.
Mark me so I can remember that you belong to me once, even if I didn't get to keep you.
And for whatever reason, that's all it took.
Like, Lily finally decides I should at least hear the guys out.
I mean, we should talk about this for a minute because it is so melodramatic.
But in a way, like, so dark.
He never does things like this.
No, but like it's kind of also romantic.
And then he comes over and basically is like on his knees, right?
And she recognizes like what a, what a difference that this is really
for him.
Like he is like on his like he's like a stab.
Like I would rather like hurt physically than you, you know, didn't not, then forget that you were here.
Antic too, which is like why she's like great dark, twisted, romantic fucked up.
Yeah.
But you know, like.
I love it.
But she was like, yes.
She was like, yeah.
Yeah.
It was really.
So then she goes back to the penthouse.
They have a super duper awkward dinner.
This is where the next part of the story,
the other conflict comes in.
Zander says, why didn't you tell us who you really were?
Throughout the book, we're getting little bits and pieces that she,
her death, she's changed her name.
She's comes from a bad situation.
her dad was bad news and she has a twin brother that keeps showing up to hang out with her
and the guys had kind of started hearing like she met this random guy at a hotel and so that
was kind of what fed into them believing the article was going to be about them and then they
hired the PI to follow her right and yeah they saw her meeting some right random man stranger
who turns out to be her brother who she hasn't seen in years since he faked her death
to get away from their father, right?
So, but this is kind of like totally random subplot throughout the book.
And then we get to the end.
She's sort of thinking about taking them back.
And then boom, like now it's not a subplot.
It's like the main part of the last third of the book.
They find out who she is at that point.
Like they knew she was Lily Constantine.
They knew she was the daughter of the head of the mafia.
And in it turns, I had met her when she was a little girl.
And their dad tried to kill him.
him. I think all three of them were there, but West was the one that was going to get killed maybe.
And she ran out as a little girl and said, don't do it, dad. And he, like, turned around and
smacked her across the room and, like, West ran out of there. So she saved his life back then.
And so he remembered that. And then, anyway, they're like, why do lie? And she sort of tells them
the backstory. I had to escape my dad. So they.
eventually somehow the brother gets kidnapped by the dad and as as bait for her.
The dad finds out she's still alive.
The brother gets kidnapped and he uses the brother as bait so that she'll come save him and
then he'll have her back.
And she goes and sends the guys an email.
And they all realize, oh my gosh, she left.
She's going to get killed.
So they like, a team style, get a van.
I mean, this is so, I mean, this is where it like kind of like jumps the shark a little bit.
But yeah, I mean, but I mean, yeah, she sends his email sort of post-dates it or whatever.
Like she sends it at well after she's gone.
And you kind of feel like she's kind of walking into a trap, right?
Like she's definitely going to get kidnapped herself or something.
But she, you know, the funny thing is like the way this wraps up is like, no, no, she had it all planned out.
like she she is like turns out to be the badass but it's it is funny these three billionaires who have
no military trading they are not mafia members they're not even really like that big of guns do they go
like how none of that is introduced and all of a sudden they show up at a you know wherever they
I don't even remember where a mansion they roll up to the mansion and a van full of like what yeah
but they fly in so where the fuck the guns come from where the van come from they had guys
of this mystery.
But like you have to kind of backdate it a little bit.
If he was in the situation where her dad was going to kill him,
they've got some sort of mafia tie.
They know somebody.
If they're strong arming the puppy mills,
if they're doing,
I feel like that.
But it's just not introduced.
It's a swing and a miss.
It's not introduced it anyway.
The way they did business.
Very great.
Especially.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm with you.
I picture the A team van rolling out.
Yeah.
They were going to save her.
her.
And then when they get there and the deed's already done, they had a man on the inside that was really with Lily that killed them.
Well, no, yeah, that's.
And then there's this whole random plot twist.
Oh, yeah.
Then the mom.
The dad kidnaps the brother to bait the daughter.
Lily goes to save the brother.
And as it turns out, the dad, mafia dad's right hand man is actually a plant by the mafia mother who has never been introduced the whole book.
I hope everyone's keeping up.
And so he, they call him doc,
as how he tortures people who apparently he's been torturing people for mafia
dad for like his whole career,
but actually is like,
you know,
loyal to the mom,
kills the dad,
saves the brother,
you know,
I mean,
and then,
you know,
the A team comes in.
They don't have anything to save.
Everything's already done.
Like you can just picture them,
right?
They run out,
first off,
how they get to the door,
whatever.
How do they even get to the van?
I'm so confused about these guys.
We have the guns.
We're here.
And she's like, oh, hey.
The A-team van met them at the tarmac when they got landed.
Oh, right.
Then they hop to the van and ran to the masts.
And then once they got there, it was too late.
I'm like picturing the movie, right?
Like she's like the mansion's burning.
They roll up in their white panel van.
And she's already just walking out, hair done, you know, like strutting past the mansion.
And her face is hard.
Yeah, like, yeah, totally.
Brothers,
brothers limping, you know, with the, you know, with the,
the torturing, the torturing guy holding him out.
That one classic dirt spot on the top of the house.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Totally.
Her dress is, you know, they're here to save her.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's a little, it's a little cheesy, cringed.
But then she, then she goes and talks to her mom,
and her mom's like, are you sure you don't want to be in the mafia?
And she's like, no, I'm going to go.
She gets the case to the kingdom.
Like, she was offered like the whole empire and says, well, thanks.
No, I'm going to go hang out in Manhattan with my three hot billionaire guys.
And then, you know, it's so cute, like the four of them get to bed together and they have their spots.
And, you know, we never even talked really about the three guys in their relationship other than they had one.
It was actually like the three of them together were so cute.
But then her being like the fourth to complete it was actually really lovely.
She was the perfect fit.
did their puzzle. She was their missing puzzle piece. I mean,
that she fit well in multiple scenes and scenarios. Um,
and multiple with multiple situations. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was cute.
I was like, yeah. How big is it? You know, you got three grown men.
A giant of Blop house. Like a big guy.
Two kings next to each other. There were plenty. I think that's a Sadie Kincaid thing. Every
book she writes, like it is.
it is hot. A lot of telekeepers for me.
I agree, though. I think that the mafia thing kind of felt like it came out of nowhere.
Like, I just didn't assume that that was going to be the ending. That was kind of a shocker to me.
I guess you needed one more conflict for them to, like, show they were committed to her in some way.
But I-
And Cain-Cade's like contractually obligated to include the mafia in her storyline.
She's got to deal with the mob because they're almost in every single book of,
that she writes.
You think she's like actually part of the mafia?
Maybe she is a mafia princess.
Like, who knows?
I don't want to make exemptions.
I don't want to make her mad.
Like, I just want to read her book.
You love the book.
Yeah, but to me, this was, uh, this was a four-star read for me.
Yeah.
The fuck nuggets.
Holy fuck nuggets was used.
I, I mean, half a dozen, maybe a dozen times.
It wasn't a big fan of that.
Freeze.
So that kind of knocked it down for me.
And then the mafia storyline.
just sort of, it just cheapened it just a little bit, but I was still thoroughly entertained.
For me, it was like, you know, not five stars, but definitely like four or four plus.
Like, I thought it was really good. I think the big thing was it was like easy to read.
It was, it went fast. I was totally engaged. And, you know, sometimes these books can be like,
oh, there's a plot just to string the sex scenes together, which, you know, I'm here for too.
But I actually felt like I enjoyed the story and like I enjoyed the character development.
and I thought it was actually really good.
But the mafia thing kind of came out of nowhere.
And sometimes I was annoyed with Lily, which, you know, in the end, I think I really liked her.
I thought her character developed well.
But there were a couple times where I just kind of wanted to punch her in the face.
Really?
Oh, I liked her.
No, I had some moments.
I'm with you then.
There were moments where I was like, what are you doing?
Yeah.
Like, well, this is like, you know, is she reserved or innocent?
Like, I don't know.
Like at the beginning, it just, I was really, well, obviously.
I mean, DTF day one.
I had no doubt.
I, I, I, I don't roll up in the bed and be like, okay, where, where do I fit?
Where's my spot?
Where's my spot?
I, I just felt like her character at the very beginning was really hard to pin down for me, like, where she, you know, because it's not like she was like, couldn't wait to get out there and, like, meet guys.
She wanted to, like, stay in and read.
I mean, I was just really struggling with, like, who she was.
But once she got in the relationship and really, like, started to develop, I actually reliked her.
but I struggle with her a little bit at the beginning.
The mafia thing was kind of strange.
But I think what really redeemed it was I thought there was a plot, which I really liked.
And the guy's relationship to me was actually really good.
It was really well written.
I thought it wasn't cringy.
It was really well done.
How they paired off together was really well done.
Like they all had a different relationship between them, which I really enjoyed.
Like kind of you basically had three relationships that you got to like track.
And I really enjoyed that.
For sure. It was a family dynamic. I mean, you have those different pieces. But I am going back to what you just said, Lynn, I think you struggled with who she was because I think she struggled with who's fair. Yeah. I can't, I can probably get a four. I struggled with the puppy mill. I, you're just to me. I know. I know. I'm looking at it and I'm going, this whole book is about endless sex and love and did it. And then you think, you're.
threw in fluffy dogs.
Heart-wrenching puppies.
I just spoke to her hearts.
And then we're going to adopt several dogs.
And we're going to do this and we're going to do that.
And, you know, I struggled with that.
And then the mafia thing, like I said, it felt very pushed.
Like I got to cinch this up.
It was almost like there were too many plots and subplots and what's going to happen.
And I appreciate the development of, and,
and the characters in the sense that she tried to get them to prove we're willing to die for you.
I think the parts that were annoying had to be there to like extend the story, right?
To like to really get to the end and we all liked it.
So it had to be there.
But there were those moments where you were just like, this, this is how you chose to like connect those two pieces.
I would love to see the board.
You know, the whole story.
Yeah.
How am I going to get the mafia on this book?
I mean, I have to do it.
All right, last chapter.
Let's go.
Yeah, totally.
All right.
So four plus, four to four plus.
And I would give it out of five chili peppers.
I'd give it four and a half.
I mean, I don't know how much more you have to do to get five.
But yeah, I agree.
I think it's a five.
I mean, I think it's a five.
Maybe there's more sex than other places.
But I thought it was well done.
There was lots of good sex.
It totally like, you know, intrigued you for the strandra.
So I'm in for five.
Chili peppers. It was creative too. It wasn't like the same. Yeah. The same every time. And I,
I read this book. If it took me more than two sittings, I would be surprised. I mean,
I could not put it down. Like I read it so closely. And I know you guys did too. So that's a
sign of a good book too. Yeah. It's a, you know what? This is a, this, this was a very interesting
way to sort of kick everything off. And I can't wait. Yeah, to see where we are. It's going to be
Yeah. Looking forward to it. Happy reading.
