And we're super happy to be back for another week of amazing Clitature, romance. I hope you had a great week. We are today looking at Hours for Halloween. This is a very short novella by Violet Taylor themed for our week here. But before we get started, what are we drinking, ladies? All right. Well, today we're going to do a twist on the Jekyll and Hyde cocktail. And in honor of our male main characters, this is called a kinky monster.

It's going to be a cool blue color. We're going to add some light rum, some coconut rum, some cursel, a handful of ice, pineapple juice. pineapple juice and a pineapple wedge for garland. It's good, it's very sweet and it's got the coolest blue color, kind of spooky, very Halloween-esque. So hope you enjoy it. Love it. Yeah. It tastes like vacation and Halloween in a glass. Who doesn't love that? In a glass. Anything with coconut rum, I'm like, I'm like, yeah. Yeah, it does feel, that does feel like a vacation dream. But I love the spooky color and it's, it's going to be a really nice pairing with this kind of very interesting book. Definitely, if you have not read the book jacket yet, you were in for a treat. This one's

pretty special. I told you, Lindsay, I raw dog this one and it was a surprise. There's a lot of surprises in store. There were a lot of what the hell is happening. Yeah. During my shock. I mean, you guys have been warmed and I was like, nope, I'm going in. I'm going to draw dog in. You got to go cold turkey. I mean, I did read the book jacket for this one. And I was like, I was like, you know, I was still very surprised at sort of the twist and turns that this one took with our, especially our male demons, which you will find. So let's go ahead and get started. We have our first, our first kind of scene opener with our main character, our main woman character, Evie. She is a sort of a youngish 20s girl.

She's in kind of a college town, but she grew up there. So she sort of stayed home when all of her friends went to college. But many of them are there. She has this ex-boyfriend who she's just broken up with. who's kind of a dick, kind of douchey. So she's trying to stay away from him. But one of her friends is throwing a Halloween party. And she really loves Halloween.

It's her favorite holiday of the year. And so she wants to go. She gets dressed up. But she's really back and forth. Like, does she go? Does she not go? The interesting part is she really wants some sex that night, though. I was going to say, she's looking to hook up.

Like, she's out for a night on the town. Like, yeah, for sure. Yeah, the worst part of the ex-boyfriend is, that she's not going to get late. And she's certainly not going to get late if he's at this party. She knew he's going to be there. But, you know, they introduced that pretty early that that is something that's on her mind. So in this tiny town that she lives in, she goes to walk to her friend's house, a friend that she's

had for multiple years. And she gets lost. Now, this is the first part where I'm like a little confused. Like, how is this woman getting lost in this tiny town she grew up in going to her friend's house? She's been to a million times. But she starts ending up on this dark, dark area. Erie. Also, what 20-year-old plus is walking in heels and a Halloween costume to a party and not Ubering?

In the town of Podok. The Podong town. They need not have Uber. I've been to towns that don't have Uber. She also shouldn't have gotten fucking lost. So that's like the first plot hole here, but not the last. So she walks, she's walking down this creepy little streets, realizing that she's lost and she looks over. and there is a mysterious stranger standing on the curb underneath a lamp post with a mask on.

But of course, it's Halloween, so not totally creepy. But it is. And yet, totally creepy. He's just standing there by himself, staring at her as she's walking down the street. But she's kind of intrigued. He's kind of mysterious. He's got a nice kind of physique from what she can tell. And she starts thinking, what if he was the guy I could sleep with tonight?

of course, that's what every young woman thinks when they're walking down and dark out. I see a mask man at a quarter. A man with a corner. He's good. He makes a, she makes a left turn kind of is looking behind her. Is he following? He is. Ooh, yay. Then a car drives by with this guy in it. He starts cat calling her, kind of whistling, kind of, you know, just an obnoxious kind of college douchebag, I think, is what she's thinking, right? At this moment, she gets kind of irritated. She turns around not interested in this guy at all. Kind of yelled at him, tells him to kind of back off,

screw you, like, get away from me. But as soon as she turns towards him, she sees his face, she sees his eyes and she realizes this guy's a bit unhinged, right? Like, he's just like a normal human douchebag who really does have like some bad shit going on behind his eyes. He's a psychopath. He's a outdoor douchebag vibe. Yeah. And he wasn't. And he wasn't. wearing a mask so clearly. Not the right one to her. Not the right one for her. Yeah. He was the bad guy. Not the one. The masked one following her. He is offering, but she was not, she was not buying. So she starts to realize that he is like a freak and basically starts running and he starts chasing her in his car. And he's chasing her down the street. And basically this next kind of scene is a bit sort of, it's kind of frenetic a bit like she falls down.

The car may or may not have hit her. She's fallen down, but someone has fallen on top of her. So mask man falls on top of her. She can't really breathe, almost like the wind's been knocked out of her. She can't move her arms and legs. She's, like, really panicked and freaked out. And the masked man kind of takes off his mask to comfort her. And then all of a sudden she can breathe again.

And he's there. And make sure. He's gorgeous. Oh, yeah, bonus. Yeah. So she is feeling, you know, pretty good about this. She feels like, ooh, I've been saved. And then just in the nick of time, this, you know, masked stranger, who's apparently very hot, has saved me. And they start to chat.

The driver has gone away. And it's now just her and the now unmasked man. And he basically starts kind of, they kind of start flirting. There's definitely some chemistry there. And she tells him, oh, I'm going to this party. You know, but he can tell she doesn't really want to go. And he says, well, you... Quiet night in. On Halloween? I can't allow it. Has chuckles again. Come to my party instead. I promise it will be better than wherever you were headed before. Your party? A red warning light flashes in the depths of my mind.

I'll even drive you to ensure you arrive safe and sound. Someone who looks as dangerously enticing as you shouldn't be out walking alone on a night like tonight. I don't have a really good idea. I mean it. You would know. 100%. No one will hear you scream. I mean, every part of this is like good choices. You should come here with me and my buddies. And she's like, deal. Like, I'm with you. Like, I'm going to go with you to this party. What could possibly go wrong?

Choose your own adventure. So instead of my friends and my ex-boyfriend who I know down the street, I'm going to go with you a masked unmasked man. So he goes and gets his truck. She gets in the truck with him. She's definitely eyeing him, thinks he's really hot. And she starts thinking in her head about this. And he basically comments on her thoughts.

And she's wondering, like, did I say that out of loud? Or is he, like, reading my mind, but she totally blows it off, right? She's kind of like, I'm flicking him and like thinking, I wouldn't mind doing that. And he seems to know that she feels about it. And he is like, he used you very much. And she's like, is he, wait, what? Yeah. She never tells anybody where she's going.

She doesn't call. She doesn't text anybody. She's like, you know what? You're right. You had the mask on. You're hot. I go on this adventure with you to, what the hell knows where? into the dark woods.

You also don't know what year it is. That's true. It feels like it's modern. But it, yeah, I guess. Like, I guess that's an assumption, right? It sounds like 80s to me as kind of how I'm. Oh, interesting. I thought it was more modern times too.

But yeah, but she, yeah, that's true. She doesn't call anyone. She doesn't think that she needs to. There's no stranger danger here. Like, she is going. And apparently the place that he's taking her is a place that she knows. It's like this old mill that, like the high school. school kids would hang out at our college kids when hanging out, but it's haunted apparently at night.

No one hangs out there at night. So she's going now at night. So they walk in or drive up and then they walk into this mill and there's a party going, kind of like a bonfire party, right? So there's, you know, a bunch of guys around and a bunch of girls around and they're all kind of, I don't say paired off, but there's like couples or throppels like hanging out, right? Like little kind of groups of people that are hanging out, men and women. And she kind of walked up. A lot of high. They're drinking. They're moving around. They're having a good time.

It feels like a party. Okay. Say, ooh, okay. Just a normal party. Cool. And I forgot to say that our guy, our mysterious unmasked stranger is names Hess. And so he go, they walk up to the party, Evie and Hess. And they run into two of his buddies, his friends.

And that's Luda and Rainer. And at this point, you just think they're all friends. It's just a group of guy friends and these girls that they're hanging out with. So they bring Evie up. They're all kind of mingling. here and she starts to sort of have start talking to some of these girls that are there with these guys and you start to realize that all of the girls have met these guys that day and in a life-saving situation yeah which is like you kind of start to realize like okay so one girl is like yeah I just met my guy

tonight I was being so silly I was up on the top of this Ferris wheel and he got down you know he climbed up to kind of be with me and like you know now I'm here with him and another girl's like yeah my ex-boyfriend found me at a bar he pulled a gun on me but this guy saved me so it's all like okay like kind of like you kind of get into the stories a little bit but it is kind of interesting how all the girls met their guys that day in some sort of interesting they're amongst a bunch of heroes quite frankly yeah yeah hot heroes like what are the odds and they're all wearing maddy alone I'm just I'm just I'm throwing it out there at the load.

It's a fan that's he, Kim. So they're all wearing masks, but each of the guys are wearing somewhat different masks unless they're kind of grouped up. So Hess and his two buddies, Luda and Rainer, are wearing masks that are very similar. And then another guy's wearing a mask. And then where there's two guys and a girl, those two guys are wearing kind of similar masks. So you're starting to realize that every kind of group is sort of paired together.

and Hess and Luna and Rainer kind of kind of pull Evie off into their own little kind of mix here. So some of the girls are kind of fun and they're really kind of out there and fun. And so they start saying, let's play a kid. Friendly. Yeah. And pulling all together. I think there were like 16 guys and then some number of girls that were there like paired up with them. And so one of the girls, not our main characters, suggest, oh, let's play truth or dare.

Like, that'll be a fun way to pass the time. And so they start playing Truth or Dare, and it gets around to our girl, Evie, and she, of course, is Daredevil and says Dare. And they basically bet her. I dare you to run and hide somewhere in the ruins. We'll see if you can stay out of sight for ten whole minutes. If you do, we'll let you choose any prize you desire. But if the three of us find you first, you're ours. for Halloween.

Now we have our course on me. Let's slow down a little bit and let's talk about like she knows she's in the truck and he's reading her mind. She can't figure out if she doesn't know if he thinks she might have said something out. She doesn't put it out together. But it's not like the first time. He does it like two or three times jokingly. But then she thinks I'm in this great group of girlfriends.

And I think there were only like four or five girls in the whole room. I felt like there were more than that, but you could be right. I mean, one for Evie. There was the guy with two girls because he. Right. And then there was a couple of one guy. I mean, it was. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. There was a couple of interesting. But there was like three girls we got to know for sure. Yeah. So she's like, I can totally stump all three of these guys in this wooded dark area and hide from them. Sure. I don't see anything wrong with this. I mean, she definitely feels very confident.

So she starts running. And she is hauling ass up the hill into this mill and hiding and squeezes her tiny ass into some sort of like weird, which creepy spiders. Like no thank you. Like, fine. Like I'm not crying into this little hiding. I don't like to go out of life. Gross. So she finds.

And they, surprise, surprise. they find her. So I think it was Luda. I think it was Luda. They like come directly to her. It's not even like a where are you? So funny. Where could you be? And they get there like lickety split. Like they are there in an instant. And so I think it was Luda who found her, but all three of them are right there together. So they basically say, you lose your arts for Halloween. And they start doing this sort of dance around her and what they're going to what they're going to get for her and like what she's going to do. do for them. So she basically, I think, starts, she may kiss one of them, but she basically dares Luda to go down on Hess. So let's go, let's dive into our kind of main men characters now

for a minute. So Hess is the one that finds her in the dark streets. He's like very much the alpha. He is the hot guy. He definitely seems like he's in charge. He's a bit of a kind of a brooder, but like it has like a smirky side to him. Luda is more of like, yeah, he can be playful, like smirky and like, you know,

he has a sense of humor, but serious, but he's serious. Luda's like our fun loving, you know, friends. Like he doesn't really take much seriously. Definitely has like a hugely playful side.

And it's kind of a glue, I think, of like kind of holding these three dudes together, right? And they're like best friends. And then you have rain. Rainer. Now, Rainer is our total brooder. He is the one

that's a bit standoffish, not quite sure about this thing. Definitely you can see, like, seething, like, passion in him and he really wants what's going on here, but like really like standoffish is not quite sure, like, how to engage. He's apprehensive, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But they're all

three hot and kind of into it, but like they all have very different personalities which you sort of like learn like as you kind of go through. So we're now, so we're back in the mill. and Evie has now dared Luda to go down on Hess, thinking, ha ha, these like alphas are never going to do this. And Luda has no problem, drops right to his knees, pulls out to Hess, start sucking him off.

Dare is the dare. He is here for it. Not a problem. Does she double-talk dare him? Because that's probably going to do it. I don't know. Could have been. Could have been.

So, and you start to get the sense that like maybe this isn't the first time. like there's some comments about how much he you know has likes it and luda's like all into it and she starts like thinking this is pretty hot right so rayner are sort of brooder who's not quite sure what to do they kind of tell him you can't leave her hanging you have to like you have to do something so he takes her kind of behind a wall like a half like pony wall and starts basically um fucking her he he's it's slow and steady and kind of like works her up uh works her up a little bit but basically faces her towards them, pushes her down and starts screwing her. And she's

totally here for it. She thinks it's really hot. And so basically you've got, you know, Luda sucking off Hess and you've got Rainer fucking Evie and they're all doing the same time watching each other do this and it's quite the orgy. They all get off and everyone's very

happy. I'm just going to, you know, this would definitely not a slow burn. We got right into it. Right into it. And I appreciate your candor, Lindsay. I mean, you're not holding that. You're not dancing around the activities here. Listen, this is what I'm, what I'm realizing about these, I mean, novellas, and they are short, is that you get into the sex real quick. So if you want something quick, quick burn, like, you're going to get it with something like this.

And you certainly do. So, so then they basically, this is when it starts getting kind of interesting, though, because they start talking. So at this point, if we back up a little bit before all the sex stuff, like they still have their masks on. And so they ask Hess, can we take off our masks? And he starts being like, oh, you have, keep your shit together, basically. Like, yes, you can take it off. We keep your shit together. Only this mask.

And you start saying, well, how many masks are there? And so, anyway, so they're all hot, but they all have to put their masks back on. Well, and they're on the timeline. They've mentioned, you start realizing timeline. We have to hurry up. We have to get this done. We have to get to do it before. On fire.

Chop, chop, you know, everybody get off and let's go. Let's get that. But basically, like, we got to, like, intrigue her. enough, right, for the, for later. We're not sure what's going on later, but they really want her to like kind of want them all, um, before they kind of bring her back. So they go through this, but then masks back on, back to the bonfire. So they, they walk back to the bonfire. She's totally blissfully happy, like, things like, okay, I can be with these three guys for Halloween. This sounds like a fun and, um, entertaining evening. Um, so she goes back to the bonfire with them. And then things start

getting a little creepy. Well, she definitely got the treat part of the trick, right? She banked on that. They started with the treat. And when she comes back, she notices like all of the girls look like they were also treated quite well. Blissed out. Yeah.

Yeah. And they're all loving up on whatever guy or guys they happen to be with that evening. So some of the other guys, so they're all around the bonfire. And another one of the guys brings out, like, these chalices. And they have just, they have one chalice for each girl. I think it was. And then they have like a, like they, they put their blood in the chalice, like each of them into her chal. So for Evie, they have three of them have put their blood in there. And so for each of the girls have the same. And they basically start to tell them like, they're actually demons. Okay. Whatever this

is, it's kinky. And. But like to set. the sea. Right. They have this big bonfire in the middle of the forest. Everyone is circled around. These guys start cutting their fingers and wrists and whatever and dripping blood into the chalice to pass on to their maiden. Yeah, what is going on? Because it's starting to feel very culty. I mean, it's very like, yeah, it's a little medieval. But she was like, period. I mean, she didn't. They were all. And nobody would have them. Yeah, nobody ran away screaming. Could I get hepatitis? Could I get?

There was no hesitation. It was just like, yeah, let me lap up that blood wine. Sounds like a great thing. Oh, come on, girls. It's just a bit of spooky Halloween fun. They start to unveil, right, like what's happening. And so they're all, I'm pretty sure this is when it happens, But like they all basically are demon princes from another realm.

And they are here to engage with a human, you know, a human here for this party. And if they drink the blood, they will unveil their true selves and lead them to a full night of passion. Okay. Did this part creep anybody else out? So like you're standing there. And his entire book was creepy. Like, I was like, why is it this part? I know you're going to get.

This isn't just about hot guys in the woods? No. No. But like, once you drink the blood, like, everybody starts taking off that secondary mask or skin or shell. And they just start peeling off their faces. They become gigantic twice the size that they are as human, like, monster. I mean, monster. And still.

And gills. Her heroin goes. Seems like you're in tentacles. Yeah. A lot of that's actually pretty useful. Yeah. Yeah. They, that we learn.

Yeah. So they basically, and so all the women are kind of sitting there thinking, do I drink this or do I not? To see like what kind of monster is standing in front of me to give me this night of pleasure. And they all drink the chalice. And this is where they're told. They are told, look, we will never harm. you. That's true. You do everything you write.

You know, we are monsters. You are precious to us. I'm super hot when they act. I mean, this is classic bait and swift, you know, like. Really is a big catfish. Because you feel like he was hot in the mask. Then he was hot without the mask. And now he's a fucking, like, weird dragon.

You know he was going to have scales and things. Like, I mean, I would have been like, Like the claw teeth. I'm just envisioning like, what is that even? Like she made out with her. Yeah. You have to read this to really get the sense. I mean, she does a really good, the author does a really good job describing how these guys end up looking.

And it's disgusting. It is grotesque. Like when you start to think about it. But in a beautiful way. But I mean, is it? It's just gross to me. Like, there's really no, she just does not give them any redeeming qualities as the monster. Like at all.

Oh, but he had technical eyes. No, none of that. They're just. No, right. They're just gross. So, okay. So she and all the other girls, by the way, like, and drink.

They think, yes, like, I've now been pleasureed and I'm totally willing to be pleasured again by you as a different monster. So they all drink the blood. And so they all start to, you know, sluff off their skins and become their demon selves. and Hess, our main character, who was the one that brought her here, has still not kissed her or had any sort of interaction with her. And so he basically grabs her and takes flight. Like he is like in the middle of the sky, like, yeah, with wings, like drags her up into like the middle of the sky and basically says like, I know you're all three of ours, but I wouldn't be able to handle it if I didn't have you first. and so I'm going to

and basically proceeds to seduce and then screw her in the middle of the sky with her hanging up side. I mean, she wanted it though. Oh,

she was so, she was in. He was here for it. Yeah, but basically, basically to screw her, but hung her upside down. So she's like,

she's like face towards the ground 40 feet up in the air or something like while he's screwing her. But apparently it was, very blissful because she had a great time. I'm like, I can't envision this. I'm like, you can't? I can't.

I struggled with this. I really didn't. Like, acrobatics. It was so bizarre to me. He's like this eight foot dragon with a teeth and a tail and big. And a really good penis. He holds up. That's important to note. A huge penis.

Right. And there's never a meeting one. You know, it's like, never. Not for the main character. But I'm like this, I really struggled with this because I can't envision this. I just like, yeah. Brain doesn't get hung up on the logistics, Kim. But there's so many. Just it.

I mean, I just don't. I feel like this is pretty like, I mean, I don't see how obviously would happen in in real life. But like, he's up there. She's hanging down. Whatever. He has a hold of her, whatever. So he screws her upside down, brings her back down to Earth so he can share her with

his two friends because they're a quadruple. And so then the next quadruple, is that what it is? No, we didn't drop her. No, quadruple. I'm like, I see what you did that anymore. They've added words. They're a quadruple. Yeah, I don't like it.

So the next guy that gets her is Luda. And he turns out to be like a water-faring demon. I'm a swamp creature. I did get like 1970s swan. I'm picturing, yeah, like green water. He has lots of tentacles. Penticles. Almost like an octopus.

That's the part where those come in handy. Yeah. It's like, something meets octopus. Octopus? Yeah. So he's a, he's an odd. There's nothing hot about the way she described these men at all. They're no one even qualities whatsoever.

But Eve is still into it. Yeah, Evie's still into it. So she's here for her second. second. Well, I guess her third technically orgasm of the night because she had the first orgasm with Rainer as a human-looking person, then her orgasm with Hess in the sky. And now she's with Luda, and he basically slithered off to the creek or the river that is close to this mill and proceeds to also screw her with very little seduction and starts to use his tentacles in all of the possible places his tentacle might go to get her off.

And there's suction cups on the tentacle on that. I forgot of Steve. Yeah. Comes into good use. That was really disgusting. But it wasn't he, didn't he just use the tentacles? Like he was a little mad. He didn't like screw her with his penis.

There was something here where like he can't wait to get out her again because he just used the tentacles, I think. Anyway, but it was, she was, she was very well pleased on like the side of the rock. underneath, you know, with the water bubbling around her and all the tentacles in place. And so Luda had his turn with her. Oh, we forgot to mention that they all have horns. And when she jerks off the horns, like it's... Right.

It gets them off. Yeah, they're very sensitive. They're very loud sounds. Very literal sense of the word. Yes. Thank you. That's true. Put it all together for me.

I've got to sleep at night. I like to wrap it. Yeah. So now Luda has had his way with her and it is now Rainer's turn because they all need their turn with her. And he is again, remember the kind of the brooder, a little nervous about it. And you start to kind of, earlier kind of in the novella, you start to realize like he kind of sparks like he gets like a little hot. You don't really know why. Well, like, electric.

Electric, yeah, like kind of shocks her, but not in like a bad way. So you start to realize, like, even when they first meet as humans, they, he kind of shocks her. Yeah. But you don't really realize why. So when he, it's when it's his turn to screw her, you realize like he's like an electric demon. So like his whole kind of stick is that he like breeds electricity.

And so when he, when it's his time to screw her, he basically is like shocking her the whole time, but like basically just keeping her in like a constant state of orgasm through these like shocks. And she's totally as a human person, totally like fine with this and like nothing bad happens to her. And he is able to enjoy himself and enjoy her. She's able to enjoy herself with his like kink, which is these like. He was apprehensive. And then she was where he would hurt her, but she said bring it on. Yeah.

But see, I struggle with this because I'm that person who goes to Target and. walks around and zaps myself every five seconds. And I fucking hate it. And you imagine your whole body like that through an entire sexy? Like maybe once or twice you're like, ooh, that was fun. But like after a hundred times, you're like, he's basically like electrocuting her. I felt like it was more like a vibrator. That's how I got too.

Like it wasn't like a thing. It was like just. No. I feel like it was like a little lightning bolts because it is. that ran through her. Like us right. I don't feel like that would be like a humming vibrator type sense. I feel like it's like a target touch the mouth.

I just feel like she's in a constant state. Constant state of orgasm the whole time. So he basically shocks her and she doesn't die and she gets off and he gets off and everybody's happy. So we've we've now gone through sort of the sexual initiative. of our women here with Evie as our main... And I should add, while this is happening, all the other people are also... Demon.

Right. Yes. And she's kind of watching what's going on, like, especially when she was up in the sky, upside down. So she had a really good, you know, view. Viewpoint. The helicopter ride.

It's an orgy. It kind of breaks off. But yeah. Well, all the demons shed their skin at the same time, right? Because all the girls drink their chalice blood. And then all the demons shed their skin and all the women don't run. And they get pleasured. And you sort of get some description.

I know. You have to wonder. Like, you want to pass on this situation. But you do realize why they can't run because. So. then all of, I know, you think that's the end, right? It's not. It's not the end. No, no, no.

Twist is coming. So then all of the women, you know, come back to the bonfire. I'll meet back in the middle with their men who are everyone's all now satisfied. And they start to realize we actually have hidden a big truth from you. here is the situation. We are whole demon. We've hidden a big truth from you. It's not that we're demons. Right. That's not the hidden truth. That's not the big reveal. Just a second. Sorry about that. I mean, when the alligator man comes to screw you,

it's not the biggest shock. Not the worst thing that's going to happen. of right yeah wait wait there's one so uh so the men have to reveal their actual truth which is the fact that they are demon princes from a realm that was basically slaughtered and in order to carry on their race they have to marry the shadow lords have deemed them all that they have to marry mortal brides and they have chosen a mortal bride for each of the groupings of them, and the shadow lords have decided who they are, who the groupings are, and they have to wait in this woods until they each find their mortal bride. And this is like their 16th year in this wood, and Evie is the last bride they found. So tonight is the night of all of this sort of ritual, if you will, because finally the last bride that's been found. But the brides don't know it's been 16 years.

They've been 15 minutes at a party. They don't even know that. They're like in limbo. Limbo land. So like for Evie, she's only been here one night, but the girl she, you know, walked in on at the party when she first got there, have been there a long time and they think it's their only night. And when she first meets them, she realizes there's all these interesting stories that

these girls' stories parallel to from years past. past, but she doesn't think anything of it. And she started to realize, like, oh, that girl I talked to, she actually died five years ago. I read about her in the paper. I read about her in the paper. She fell off that Ferrisville. And oh, that girl died a couple years ago and her boyfriend killed her in a bar. So all these pieces start sticking together. But the men basically say, we want to take you back to our shadow realm to live immortally with us forever, happily. ever after, but you have to come with us. And, you know, there's obviously some questions there. Like, well, what about my family? And this is when they have to break the sad news that they don't

have family anymore because they all died. And Evie realizes that when she was almost run over by the truck with the psycho, he actually ran her over. Like she died there and Hess basically didn't save her, but he was there to sort of shepherd her into this wood after her death. So she's actually been dead. And all of the women realize that they've been dead for year, Evie, not Evie, but the others, years. Like, their family has had years to, like, mourn their deaths. But they basically give them the choice. You can come with us to the shadow realms, or you can basically go, like, you can die in the... Wherever else.

Wherever else people go. End of your robe. Yeah. But they sugar-coded quite a bit. You can come with us. There's a realm where we're going to be amazing to you. And all we'll do is give you multiple orgasms all the time and worship you. It'll be amazing. Or you can die here and we don't know what the hell is going to happen. Well, and your family's already mourned you.

Also, they're kind of drugged on the blood is sort of like, like, and off multiple orgasms now, like for like the past half hour. So, and they say you don't have long to choose because the only time we can come into this world is on Halloween. And so Halloween's almost over. We've wasted it all, drugging you into a sex stupor. And so you must choose right now, whether you're going to come with us or not. And you must decide this like immediately. So, surprise, surprise, they all choose to go to the shadow around to be worshipped as princesses. Once they could get past, then the monster thing, I mean.

Which they kind of already got past because they are. That was the most unbelievable part of this book and like that these beautiful women were like, I don't care how ugly you are. Gales. All Mary. They were dead anyway, I mean. Why could she have kept these? guy's cute though. Why did they have to be so ugly? I know. That was really disappointing. It bothers me that they didn't tell them was like, you're going to pass over into this

shadow world, whatever. You're going to drink our blood a couple more times. And then you're going to start to turn hideous as well. And that's what happens to her. Yeah. And so they're all, they all turn into these grotesque, demon, gross, bleh thing. But it's kind of like Shrek. But they get all the orgasms. So, and they're dead anyway. So I guess who cares? But they go, they're happy. Yeah. They're happy. Yeah, everybody's happy. And so then there's like a sorority of these girls. So they go to the shadow realm. And now all the human brides are besties and they get together for book club and wine nights. And they have babies. And they get pregnant. Yeah, they read boring stuff because they are the hot stuff. But then the next really fun little twisty and this one is a pretty like grotesque

way to get some revenge. But basically they determine. So Evie is like a little peeved, right, that she's been murdered by this psycho, uh, truck driver. Yeah. And it's really frustrating to her. And she basically tells her demon boyfriends, um, that she wants revenge. And so they go. And and suss this guy out, figure out where he is, and realize that he's actually a serial killer. And he has murdered multiple women on Halloween and then basically like, you know, treated them really poorly and like really done the horrible things to their bodies and then buries them in his backyard. And so they need revenge on him. And so. Very much so.

Fast forward one year on Halloween, they cross over into the. human realm, and they stalk him. And he comes home and parks in his garage and gets out to these three demons who basically, well, it's pretty grotesque. And they make him strip off his clothes and they tie him to a chair and there's some, you know, pretty awful things to his body. And then they bring in Evie, you know, because they had to make sure the scene was safe. They bring in their, their lovely bride who they are pregnant. pregnant, pregnant, lovely bride, who they are obsessed with. Spoiler, not lovely.

She comes in. They start to basically murder this guy. And that is such a turn on. They start to basically have a for some in his blood, in his, with his bloody remains. As do you. As one does. I'm like, wait, when did this turn from a murder into like sex? It's a orgasm.

I was down to the mother. That guy doesn't ever. He deserved to die, but then they did have the for some basically in his blood. Yeah, that, I couldn't down about that. In his garage, closed garage, which was pretty gross. And then, yeah, and then they, but, you know, then they go back to the shadow realm. She's pregnant. And then they have more sex.

And dun, dun, done, done, the end. And everyone's happy. except for the dead guy I mean he he had a pretty bad We don't want him to be happy But Evie is happy And the three demons are happy And they live a life

A happy, lovely life at the end There's nothing weird about any of this I feel like It all went like it should have So I don't know if we said that they were all Princes but the reason that the three of them had to share her was because they all had bordering lands

So they were all I missed that Yeah they all were a bordering lands That's why they shared her Yeah the sea One had the air One had the whatever that Something else

Water and one had Yeah Yeah Well the shadow leaders Picked the groupings And they were a kind of annoyed That they had to share Right at the beginning

But then at the end realized It was like the perfect match For each of them And then the guys Right Also were in a relationship, too. Well, they had had relations. Yes.

So that was, that all kind of worked out. That helped. Yeah, worked out. They were like in their castle in the sky and still, you know, fornicating to their little heart's content. So. I don't know. Like they went from fucking to fornicating. What happened?

My married life, am I right? Married life. Married life. Yeah. He fucked her. I didn't like. There was some foreplay at the end. that they didn't get at the beginning.

I hated, I mean, there were some pieces of this that I was like, what? But I really hated that they brought up. And she's got like these long fang-like nails and she's pasty and she's just very dark and very demonic looking. And I realize she has to blend, you know, her environment. She has to be there. But I really kind of wanted her to stay that. see stupid little five-year-old, you know, hanging out with all. Well, and all the human, because they talk about that at the end, like all the human wives are still buddies

and friends and they all get together for, you know, barbecues and stuff. Yeah, they hang out. Yeah, I was so weird. It's like dragon tails meets like Hercules demons. I don't know. It's very strange. It's a weird mix. It's a very interesting mix, and I agree, because there's plenty of these types.

of books with demons where they look human and like you can kind of picture like you know what they are whatever and he's like super hot but he just like has horns you know right like he's still hot yeah horns only come out sometimes but he's mostly human looking all the time um no this author went she went full tilt uh she wanted you to know that these guys are demons and this one was okay with that also evy develops horns so now they or does she get horny? They're all horny. Yeah, they can all, yeah, get each other up by the horns. They're all horny. Yeah. In totality, I would say that this very short, very on, you know, it was, it delivered exactly what it said. It was going to deliver, although in a much more graphic way than I anticipated with the, with the descriptions of these demons and how they, how they were able to screw hard.

And then of course there was the serial killer side story, which was unexpected. So it was definitely not what I anticipated, but it was Halloween themed. And there were demons. And there was a happily ever after. But if I was to rate this book, I feel like it's a like from a star rating standpoint to me, this is like a two. A two really? From a star rating. Now, from a spice perspective, it's different.

Like, this is a four spice for me, but like a two, like, star rating. Because I just, I just didn't really like it that much. But there was lots of sex. And, like, if that's where you're going for, great. But I didn't really love it. Yeah. I gave this book four stars on. Really?

And here's why, because once I embraced the Halloween of it all, and, like, I was like, this is what we're here for. Like, we came here. Right? Like we're for spook and monsters and all these things. And all right, I wasn't ready for it. But now that I know it's here, like, I feel like it delivered, you know? That really that's spooky, though. I mean, it was just on Halloween. But the monsters and I don't know. Like, I just, I felt like I got a little journey, I got a Halloween journey. I got a Halloween journey. A Halloween journey. Yeah. And so I gave it four. And then I'd also give it for. for space. Yeah.

So I'm with you, Jen. I went into this thing thinking it was going to be so different. And I actually read this on a two-hour flight and finished it in two hours. It's fast. So all this shit we just talked about went down in two hours for me. Quick. Yeah, it was quick. It was a quick, quick burn.

I couldn't quite get into the demon part of it. But, you know, I got what I came for, right? So I would probably, I'm in a middle road it. I would give it a three, three and a half on the book just because I didn't put it down. The whole time I'm intrigued, what the fuck is going to happen? Yeah, you definitely want to. What? Why would you drink that?

Where are you going? Like the whole time. So, you know, three and a half for me. spice-wise, this is hard because there were a lot of interesting things being done. There was a lot of sex, but I don't know if it was sexy. So like some of it was spicy for me, but in the sense of like, ooh, that's creative, but not what we're going to do that. Well, I mean with the tusses. The murgazms or the end when they were murdering.

or the, what is it, the murgy? Oh, I could have done without that. It's not my thing. The murder. It's not my thing. Mergy. Even though that guy had it coming. Yeah.

He had the dust coming. I don't think we needed the, like, the orgy next to it. It's a dead body, but it was a lot. It could have gone back home to do that, you know, to celebrate. I mean, they were, they obviously got off on it. I mean, kink's a kink. I mean, it's a morgy. So I'm going to go with like a two on my.

on my spice radar because I don't know I'm just too. I don't know it's spicy. I think you need to revisit your like your grading system. My spice is different from your spice.

And it was spicy. There was no spice. This was really spicy. This was spicy. But it wasn't sexy spice. I want sexy spice. I don't want tentacles. You want to want you want to want the spice.

I want to be in the moment. And to me I'm like, for the fuck. Fucking hills. What are you doing? Oh, it was like a scary movie. Like, why did you get in the truck with that guy? Yeah, the scariest part of her.

She was so dumb. I guess that's a scary movie ever. Don't go up the stairs. What are you doing? What's that camera where they go, let's go hide in the tool shed. Yeah, totally. What's the change lives. That's what I felt like is happening.

So, no, I'm not down with the, with the spice on this one. The chalice of blood was just off-putting for me. But you gave it a three and a half? Yeah, I'm like, I feel like you should have rated the stars lower and the spice higher. Intra. My journey. It's your journey.

I'm sorry. My journey. It's also your really weird writing. So we so. I'm not let you have that. Creativity was there. The spice was not sexy spice for me. It was more like, yeah, I could.

I mean, it's totally, it's totally fair. Like, this is not a spice that I particularly getting off on myself. But it was spicy. There were, there were plenty of orgasms in a very short amount of time. And it was creative. It was creative on the spice. Yeah, but I couldn't. But for the reason that you're rating the spice low is why I rated the stars low because

I just couldn't get into it. It was just like, the whole thing was creepy from start to finish. Here's what I think it's funny. Both of you all thought I would hate this book. And I gave it the most stars. You did the most of it. How many cocktails did you have prior to reading it, though? Who knows? Who knows? I mean, any given day. But it is, it is, to me, it was a Halloween book that was Halloween. I was there for the ride for that ride. And I felt like I got my money. And you felt like you got it. All right. Yeah.
