Starting point is 00:00:00 You. You, Rambo, Rambo times. It's time for Rambo. Last Blood. The last film until they make another one.
Starting point is 00:00:06 Yeah, yeah. Well, this is meant to be the last film, but it's the lone, Sloan never knows when it stopped. No, he's like,
Starting point is 00:00:11 you know, maybe another one. Yeah. He's, it's interesting. He's punched shrunk and there's never been in a boxing room. Oh, God,
Starting point is 00:00:20 he's like a big fucking, especially his film now, last blood, like he is just deteriorated. Yeah, yeah. Like, he has a lot of monologues in this film.
Starting point is 00:00:29 it is it is basically like he is these big speeches we'll get into it there on like and you really know it's like he is not he is looking like a muppet he is like looking straight there is no eye movement there's no like even like you know when you're acting you like move your face yeah sure not to like get too big into the craft but you know the way like you look like you might turn your head or like um like move your lips or anything okay he like a muppet it's just bottom jaw up down an up-down talk it almost looks like I just broke into like
Starting point is 00:01:02 it looks like he can't have Alzheimer's and they've just tricked him into starring a Rambo movie It's 1987 Yeah, all right So we're talking about Rambo Last Blood
Starting point is 00:01:13 Because you went to see it Yeah, we're just talking beforehand You've seen all the Rambos Have you? I watched all the Rambos when I was really young Like I saw First Blood And then I watched the sequels
Starting point is 00:01:23 The sequels are terrible First Blood's actually alright And then I went to see the fourth one in the cinema and it's not a good film but it's incredibly violent it is it's like horrifically violent I fucking I've watched a clip so many times like this and get a little inside of my mind when I see a man can turn the soup by a gun yeah I'm like yes yes finally yes why can't life be like this but yeah it's uh it's fucking insanely violent but it's not a good
Starting point is 00:01:53 film like they're not first one was all right it's a decent enough film the rest of them are First one is all right, but, like, it's definitely dated. Of course, yeah, yeah. Which is interesting, because I was saying, I was in class there the other day, and I was talking just kind of out loud to my friend about Rambo, and a girl popped up, and she said she loves First Blood. Okay. And maybe sexism in me, but I was like, you don't.
Starting point is 00:02:17 Yeah, I just, that was my response. Like, no, you must take it something else. Yeah. You must be thinking of Rupal's Drag Race or something. There's no, but it turns out she does like Rambo. Okay. It's interesting. The younger generation are getting into it.
Starting point is 00:02:28 I suppose, yeah, maybe because this new one's coming out Yeah So let's get into Rambo Last Blood then Did you enjoy it? Let's just describe the plot And then I will say I watched it a friend of mine In an empty cinema There was me and my friend John
Starting point is 00:02:45 And two boys in the back That were just pure scum Yeah, two boys that like they smell like drink And you can tell they just came in They wanted somewhere dark to sleep basically Yeah Okay, right, right. They picked the wrong cinema because, yeah, they probably expected something like gentle.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Yeah, yeah. They weren't expecting pulse-pounding cinema, it's best. Okay, so Rambo Last Blood takes place 11 years after the fourth film. Yeah, yeah. Which is called Rambo. Yes. Okay. Now, I'm reading the Wikipedia description here,
Starting point is 00:03:16 and there's a lot of information to give here that I did not get from the film. So it's saying here that Rambo lives in his deceased father's horse ranch. Okay. they did not tell me that in the film oh really in the film he's just living with some Mexican family and they didn't explain what the fuck was going on so like
Starting point is 00:03:35 there's a girl there like 19 or so jail bait so there's a Mexican girl there and then there's an older woman who's her grandmother and I was thinking like are they are they implying that like the older woman like is Rambo like dating
Starting point is 00:03:51 the older woman but I thought there's no way Stallone's ego what a lot and now bear my this old woman I'm saying she's still about 20 years younger than Sloan yeah
Starting point is 00:04:00 but she looks her age is she attractive not really but like she's you know an older woman yeah yeah like she didn't have to be attractive
Starting point is 00:04:08 in James no I think older women are attractive what are you saying well I'm just saying that in this film instead of having Ramble be dating
Starting point is 00:04:18 an age appropriate girl yeah they just don't have anything dating anyone oh right okay he doesn't buy well there's a kind of half love interest later on but get into that in a minute okay so he's chilling out with um his mexican family yeah uh i i've completely forgot the names okay so gazelle is the
Starting point is 00:04:37 daughter's name okay gazelle is the friend it's gabriela is the young girl okay and gazelle's her bad friend you know she's trouble that's what we learn she's bad news that's what we learn straight away like don't hang out with that bad giselle okay so he's hanging down the horse and he's seems happy, he's found peace. He's hanging on this horse ranch just near the Mexican border. A bit of a weird thing, though. He's built tunnels all under the house.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Has he? Yes. Huge tunnels. He misses Vietnam, perhaps? Well, they have one Vietnam flashback. Okay. Funny thing is, they have one Vietnam flashback. And apart from that, you could do the whole film
Starting point is 00:05:14 and just, it wouldn't be a Rambo film at all. Oh, good. Because they call him John for most of the film as well. Oh, really? Yeah. So it could just be, like, you could just completely forget its Rambo. apart from the fact that he has his knife
Starting point is 00:05:25 at all times old knifey I think that really is just him to be like look Rambo Rambo is a knife I'm Rambo Yeah yeah it's common The violence is common
Starting point is 00:05:35 So he spends a lot of his times Either talking to the horses Or wander around his dumb PTSD tunnels Yeah What does he do down there He just sort of scurries around He pretends around He pretending to shoot Charlie
Starting point is 00:05:49 He wanders around And he has like a smelting room somewhere where like he hammers shit because like Stallone wants to show off he's still a man, you know? He's got the guns. I feel like Stallone almost, he doesn't actually understand what men, like what regular man does, so he's like, he's retired.
Starting point is 00:06:04 He better just hits metal. That's what they do, yeah? And rides a horse, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, like, yeah, and he's found peace. So it's a real idealized, old style portrayal of masculine. And you're thinking like, okay, Rambo, he's happy now. Yeah. We're just going to spend
Starting point is 00:06:19 like a half hour with him just chilling out, you know? We might have to, like, learn a lesson to. like you know maybe like gazelle has her first period or something like that and he has to like learn to like they call the witch doctor he's like give me my knife okay so uh gabriella the young one okay she's off to college soon and rambos have not too happy about this he's like oh do you stay on the farm stay with my tunnels come on i got loads of tunnels they're very dirty why do you need college girls like you shouldn't be going to call yeah and like she's eventually like come on john uncle john that's just uncle john okay yeah come on uncle
Starting point is 00:07:03 john come on let me go to college they go okay uh and he's like why don't you bring your friends down to the tunnels so they have like a house party okay down the tunnels now this doesn't lead to anything it's just very weird so far so yeah so yeah i did not expect that For some reason, I'm expecting, like, Rambo to be real protective. Yeah. But they're just down there, like, making out and drinking and stuff like that. And he's just like... He's just standing around.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Like, yeah, I don't have a good time, right? He ever told you that story about Richard Gere? He shoved the gerbil up his age. Yeah, he'll tell nobody. Yeah. He's the one who started that rumours. Really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It goes back to a feud that Stallone and Richard Gere had, like...
Starting point is 00:07:44 Yeah. Wow. Well, that didn't bring that up in the film. Okay, good. That's for the unrated cut. every director's commentary he does okay so it's all going well she has the party
Starting point is 00:07:56 like even like but doesn't lead anything so that's the party next scene she's cleaning up afterwards and Rambo's like you show yourself okay and like and we're like okay I was expecting something to happen there
Starting point is 00:08:08 I thought at least like maybe to have one of the kids points as in the old gun or something like that yeah something all right so then she's like oh by the way before I go to college my friend Gazelle he's like that bad friend Guzel and he's like yeah that bad friend she's found my biological father he's in
Starting point is 00:08:23 Mexico I want to go see him and he's like no next scene uh now she's talking to her grandmother all right and she's talking to um telling her about the biological father and the grandmother does a whole speech about like oh you're a biological father was a bad man like he used to beat your mother even when she had cancer she used to be and the only reason like mr rambly or at the pull him off a few times oh really Pull him off and like, oh, like, not wank him off. The cam down. Why don't you settle down there?
Starting point is 00:08:57 Yeah. Yeah, he's a bad man. Don't go see him. I order you. And Rambo's like, listen to her. Don't go see her. Don't go see her. Don't go see him, I mean.
Starting point is 00:09:06 Guess what she does? Next scene. No way. Bye! She's in the car. She's driving off to Mexico. She's off to Mexico, okay? Kids will be kids in all right, that.
Starting point is 00:09:19 So she's in Mexico now. She meets up her friend Gazelle. Giselle's changed. Okay, how so? One thing, she's fucking, like, dressing an emo. Oh, really? She's wearing, like, weird makeup, and she's, like, drinking just bottles,
Starting point is 00:09:32 like, just bottles over the place. She's like, yeah, I like the patting now. I'm different, Holmes. Okay. I feel so tired. I got out of drink this to fall asleep. Is that what we're going, Brian? But it's not offensive.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Oh, of course it's not offensive. We're commenting. Because we're saying it. yeah yeah it's not offensive at all yeah but the old shame gillis okay well like somebody made a good point about that just to divert he knew he was being recorded the whole time yeah he was doing it for god it's not like you think caught him out
Starting point is 00:10:05 it's like i actually um we had clubs and societies day today in the college and there's an asian society so i was trying then i was trying to explain the whole i was trying to i was trying to know i was trying to explain the Shane Gillis' controversy, but they, uh... They didn't like it. Well, it turned out, it was the African side of it. I got confused. But anyway, like...
Starting point is 00:10:28 But I had some words for them, too. Anyway, go on. Anyway, Michael Richards, a good man. Yeah. But anyway, let's get back. We're getting too silly here. Let's just calm down, okay? I want to keep us on track.
Starting point is 00:10:39 I'm going to keep us on track. Important banter here, ramble has... So Giselle's like, yeah, I'll bring you to meet your dad. He's a bit of a dick, though. And she's like, no, I must find him. So she goes up to the apartment to see her biological dad And he's got another family Like the wife opens door
Starting point is 00:10:55 And the wife's most understanding woman in the world This strange woman is like, I must see him now Your husband is my father No, she's like, I must see him now and she's like, okay, just gets him, all right? And the biological dad is like, oh, hey, how are you getting on? She's like, good, yes, but I must ask you, why did you leave? And she's a little tear coming down.
Starting point is 00:11:17 And you're expecting some kind of emotional, like, thing. And he's literally like, guess what? Because I fucking hated you. This almost like line for line dialogue, yeah, yeah. It's almost like, yeah, I hate being there. I hate being your father. I hate your mother, even before she got the cancer. I hated everything.
Starting point is 00:11:32 When she got cancer, I laughed. Like, it's this big, long, like, this big villain monologue, okay? They just slams the door in her face, okay? And now she's a bit depressed. Yeah, imagine I would rub you up the wrong way. You know, the way women be. so gazelle's like yo um gazelle no she's talking like a wigger i can say yeah of course gazelle's like yo i need i know i'll cheer you up let's go to the club all right okay so they
Starting point is 00:11:59 go to this mexian club we're like there's guys dressed in proper like just white cowboy suits everywhere okay yeah it's a very weird kind of club maybe that's normal in that power of like warres or like yeah i don't know i don't yeah oh like yeah full like tassels on like the suppose it is like by the desert and stuff suppose yeah so yeah so they're like partying and you know gabriella she's still not hunched and happy this guy in white cowboy still comes along
Starting point is 00:12:24 drop drop drop pills in the drink drink drink drink does she know no no no no no i see a Mexican Cosby yeah yeah that was on the back was jacket I'll tell you that would you like to play the bignano we hit it with sticks and then treats all from the
Starting point is 00:12:45 Putting pops from the banana, yes, please. Sorry, come on. He's continued. Okay, so now she's been kidnapped. Yeah. Wait. Oh, because the guy who drug her kidnapped. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:58 They put stuff in her drink, and we assume, like, because the next scene is them, like, the grandmother being like, oh, Mr. Rambo, she's gone. Okay. Okay. All right. Now, Ramble takes this,
Starting point is 00:13:11 he immediately just gets in a van and drives to Mexico. there is not there's one second which like should we call the police like no they can't do anything like he's one step away from going like no the police are all cooks they're written on it get you dealt yeah like he's like just a little bit if you turned it a little bit more right wing it'd be like the no they can't do anything because they're not getting the funding to deserve because the democrats are standing in the way of the beautiful wall like they're like one step away from that okay so he just like basically just picked up a knife
Starting point is 00:13:44 gets in the truck drives to Mexico okay next scene he's in that club okay okay yeah he's walking around
Starting point is 00:13:52 he's doing like his rambo how did he know that she was there like oh actually no I forgot something okay
Starting point is 00:13:57 he goes to gazelle's house okay right threatens her I think hits her at one stage yeah he just like
Starting point is 00:14:04 he puts the knife on a table like next next next the knife's going your fucking head next
Starting point is 00:14:07 okay okay so then he goes to the dad sorry sorry god damn that was ramble
Starting point is 00:14:14 Yeah, the strapboard He's trying to like blend He doesn't He doesn't reset a stone He's wearing a bad diamond A cheque shirt So then It turns out
Starting point is 00:14:26 The friend Sold her out Oh, Gazelle do Yeah Because he knows this Because gazelle's wearing Like a shitty Like a shitty-looking brooch
Starting point is 00:14:34 That belongs to Gabriella Turns like she's did it Because she likes the brooch She sold her friend Into the sex trafficking Yeah For a nice shiny brooch That couldn't have been too expensive
Starting point is 00:14:46 It belonged to her mother So it's sentimental value Well women love jewelry Brian apparently Like magpieies Apparently enough to sell their friends Into the sex trade Good thing rambles around To scare some sense into her
Starting point is 00:15:00 In these crazy broads Well actually no it's not just broads Women Because like he goes next To the dad's house The biological father Oh right right okay Yeah and he gets away
Starting point is 00:15:12 He finally just goes like Where is she and he goes I don't know. The end. Really? Yeah. I assume like you'd get like one like hit the biological dad.
Starting point is 00:15:19 No, the biological dad, that's the last we see of him. Is that right? And it's, he kind of won. Wow, yeah. He didn't have to do anything.
Starting point is 00:15:27 He didn't get in trouble for the horror. He didn't have to pay for the horrible thing that he said. Yeah, because usually when a, like in a movie, when a character does something bad,
Starting point is 00:15:36 there needs to be some kind of justice or a comeuppance for that character. Yeah. This guy just gets with his got free? Nope. He just goes back to his regular family and he's like, Even like his biological daughter has been kidnapped,
Starting point is 00:15:46 he's going to get some other guy, some other guy's going to save her. He's just chilling out watching, I don't know, some really sexy weather girl, whatever it is, they watch, yeah, down there. Yeah. So, Rambo Dengos is the club. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:01 He's walking along, and there's a girl in the background drinking is watching him. Oh, okay. Okay. And she's got, I think she's got a hat on as well. Like, she's got a brimmed hat, like in a nightclub, like, looking around.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Okay. looking as suspicious as possible so Rambo's walking around he sees someone that Gazelle described to him like so he follows them he follows back to like their
Starting point is 00:16:27 their clubhouse okay I don't know what Rambo's plan here because he just basically walks up to them and then they all pint guns at him and then he's like give her back to me and it's like there's literally about 40 guys all we
Starting point is 00:16:43 guns right to his head. Like it's something out of a cartoon? Yeah, where it's all these guns. But the thing is like, what it's actually like, if they fired it, they'll be dead because it's a perfect circle. It'd be great if Rambo just ducked in it right and they're all dead, like that'd be
Starting point is 00:16:57 pretty cool. Yeah, you should pitch that to Stallone for the scene. Yeah, come on. Let's just redo that one scene. So like, they're like talking in Spanish about like, you know, should we give them back the girl, course not, this old.
Starting point is 00:17:13 man keep calling old man you know yeah yeah and then they say let's not give back the whore and Sloan hears the word whore and then he goes crazy he's like wah and then they beat this shit out of him oh really like they actually do really good like um he's basically got those pussy eyes you know when they beat your face so much that like your eyes like swell up oh yeah he's got that and then they mark him they put a v on his face oh really we shouldn't even think that's five ramble five oh very good what is the why do they put a v on because that's like their gang sign all right I think, like, well, the gangster's name is El Flacco. El Flacco.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Oh, and then Victor Martinez is the other gangster. I'm looking up here. So that's probably the V for Victor. Okay. Yeah, yeah. So they beat the shit out Rambo, okay? Okay. And they're leaving for dead.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Yeah. Like, the whole thing is like, it's worse to leave him alive. Okay. Because he knows we're going to be fucking, that girl who's not related to him in any way. We're going to leave him alive. Why? Because we're only 32 minutes into the film. Yeah, that's perfect.
Starting point is 00:18:11 Yeah, okay. So Rambo's now all this, like, basically, like, on the floor, like, bleh. Then that girl shows up from the club, okay? Okay. Turns out she's a journalist. She's been working this case for ages. What case? Oh, the sex trafficking case.
Starting point is 00:18:24 The case of the sex traffic girls. Enid Blighton presents the Secret 7 are on the... Some of their called... Yeah. It was so funny. The famous 5. And then the Secret 7. That fucking idiot.
Starting point is 00:18:42 the hack they work once let's add two other kids but this time it's a secret and they're still all white why were they a secret were they in the illuminate or something maybe they grew up into that they worked the way up from like solving like who stole the jam to like who killed hepsey yeah yeah so anyway she takes it back turns out this journal she's an independent journalist and her sister was also captured by this gang but she wasn't so lucky they killed her
Starting point is 00:19:13 so she's looking for revenge and then Rambo does his whole speech about like you know it's such a long boy it's the only thing I wish you know the first Rambo he barely talks yeah this is the whole speech about like you know the angel of death and they will feel
Starting point is 00:19:30 the true fear they have not felt fear like the fear they will feel when they have fear in me because I am Rambo an angel of destruction no just a huge and it's just
Starting point is 00:19:43 it's not even shot interesting it's like just camera here straight up to his face he talks and then the woman just nods because women don't have anything to say to this women are only there to betray men or like
Starting point is 00:19:54 just stand around okay so Rambo a few minutes ago has been completely battered in the stride okay now all of a sudden he's just fine and you know what he does straight away
Starting point is 00:20:07 he goes to one the main guy's house and just kills him okay yeah okay so the next day so I think he's two brothers the brother the other cartel leader comes and he finds his brother just in the bed headless okay we cut to Stallone oh he also takes the girl back as well
Starting point is 00:20:26 oh he got the girl he got the girl yeah the girl's at the guy's house oh right so he's like imagine this you walk in your brother's dead and the girl that you've just broken in yeah yeah yeah it's gone like deos meos you know okay so next
Starting point is 00:20:44 the next shot okay is Stallone in a in a pickup truck driving back to America he is holding the gangster's head by the hair outside the window like like yeah this thing really sticks and kind of holding out the window
Starting point is 00:20:57 yeah he's just swinging around and they just drops on the road and it kind of does a comical role Jesus Christ so he's driving it back and the girl's not a good way because they've hooked her full of heroin and like to beating her and she's got a V on her face as well yeah and he's driving along
Starting point is 00:21:12 and he's given this big like he doesn't even give her time to talk he's doing this thing like you know keep stay awake you remember when you were young and we pushed you on the swing and you were scared you were also a hero in then yeah i was scared to push you if you said faster rambo faster and i said okay and then i pushed you high and then uh you know you learned a lesson remember that okay now this is a big twist okay he turns back to her she's dead oh yeah she died on the yeah died from his pretentious overlong monologue but like they keep cutting so he's talking they keep cutting to her like getting more and more dead like more and more like her eye slowly closing and it would have been
Starting point is 00:21:53 funny if they just kept a little bit longer like him telling the story of like if he just starts talking about like all the many killed in like ramble four and they just cut to her and there's like a fly on her eye just like foam yeah oh yeah yeah yeah Hey, you're a terrible passenger, by the way. I'm doing all the legwork here. And you know what's funny as well? So he gets back to the ranch in America. He has not moved her.
Starting point is 00:22:19 She is still on the passenger seat, like dead. So he got through the border? How did he get to the border? You guys, you ever see Iraqi? Come on. The idea of him driving up and they're like, so have fun time in Mexico? is that like a subtle way of saying that the border patrol is really lax
Starting point is 00:22:41 I suppose Is this like a right wing propaganda film If you're being really right wing You can take the only good Mexican Travel across the border Like if you're in really white right week There's definitely like a very right wing feels this whole movie
Starting point is 00:22:55 Kind of sounds like it Yeah we're like it is Us of all people If we're pointing out your cultural And sensitivity You're in trouble buddy so he gets back to the house okay and he gets out and the grandmother is like
Starting point is 00:23:10 walked into the car and I think she's all happy but you can see just a body like just her head on the dashboard yeah yeah and then he just a hug and she's like scream and stuff like that the next scene is her cross they've buried her on the ranch
Starting point is 00:23:27 but the cross is a wooden cross and it's signed by all her friends which makes me think we've skipped a time we've had a whole funeral yeah yeah but they don't really like it's a weird it's a weird jump because you're the the whole thing is the cartel are chasing him back right okay yeah because they looked to his ID when they're beating him up so they know where he lives and stuff like that but they had enough time to have a full funeral and stuff like that and then the grandmother he sent her away it's going because shit's about get real okay right so they're gonna come after him yeah yeah so
Starting point is 00:24:00 a bit like the end of skyfall you know it's like he's the base now they're coming for him yeah The advantage is, this is a matter. Right, right. And the grandmother does a whole speech about, like, you know, in Spanish now, about like, uh, my heart is broken, it will never be repaired. I shall cry until the day I die. It's really like, kind of like, weirdly nice little poetry about loss. And Stallone's just like, yeah, drive safe.
Starting point is 00:24:25 That's literally what he says. Which makes me think it's way funnier if you just imagine that he just doesn't speak any Spanish. He just said. which makes sense because the only word in the whole film he recognizes is when they call
Starting point is 00:24:38 the girl a whore which is probably in Stallone's head the only word you need to know there's also there's another time in as well
Starting point is 00:24:47 where like someone says something like has a kind of like the journalist says something's like yeah
Starting point is 00:24:51 sure like he's so he just living in Mexico and no Spanish that's very funny oh my god so this is
Starting point is 00:25:01 again I don't understand it he has had a funeral on that the people are coming he has time to go back to Mexico one last time to the journalist again to give another speech about how he's never going to stop fighting until they're all dead and she's basically like you go ramble okay yeah yeah and you're kind of like how close is the day to the border without so much time like yeah and this is all happening while like all the cartel guys like proper like getting other guns ready and they're getting ready they're going fucking just kill this guy
Starting point is 00:25:37 one of him and there's like 600 of death it's like every cartel is teamed up to kill this one old man they're getting like proper like one step away from having like full swat suits or they're having like Iron Man armor
Starting point is 00:25:52 they're ready to do okay so they're driving towards the house and Rambo's there and he's ready to go okay so just before just like I think I really thinks like eight trucks
Starting point is 00:26:05 full of guys coming to this small little ranch all right so as they're coming ramble press the button all the tunnels blow up oh my god yeah so the trucks are falling into them and stuff like that not actually not all the tunnels there's like a few tunnels left for later on okay but a lot of tunnels blow up okay
Starting point is 00:26:21 so there's like destruction everywhere people are on fire stuff like that there's people on fire rambo then pops out somewhere and shoots the guys on fire which is your first indication of like oh things are about to get silly yeah yeah so he pops one tunnel and shoots them and then the main guy's like ah he's down there follow so they all run down the tunnels yeah well the mouse is the mouse is now caught in the spires web okay okay now what's very weird is rambo is now having a bit of fun with this yeah where he presses a tape
Starting point is 00:26:53 recorder and now music is playing this is diagetic music really yeah where all the people are looking around what kind of music is it's like just kind of like uh-huh uh-huh uh-huh oh uh-oh I don't know exactly I'm trying to go record his own song Yeah, yeah, you're in the time to With tempo It's all about to go, go, go everybody No guys, I think we gotta cut, we gotta do it again
Starting point is 00:27:21 There's so much bass, so much trappling by a foot, come on This is when, so they're playing happy music now And it goes full home alone Where there's traps everywhere, like there's like rakes coming down and smashing people in the head and like there's like poles being shot out of things
Starting point is 00:27:39 that everything like for somebody like Rambo's running around no bother but every time anyone steps in anything there's like nine arrows get shot into their face
Starting point is 00:27:47 and what's funny is they'll get shot but Rambo will then pop out nowhere and shoot them as well so it's a bit where like a spike goes through a guy's head a full metal spike
Starting point is 00:27:56 and then Rambo comes out and shoots them you're not to see where there's two cartel guys fall down a hole onto a bed of spikes where they're like literally like they are completely dead
Starting point is 00:28:06 Rambo shows up to just start shooting their dead corpses he's just shooting corpses yeah yeah and this happens multiple times it goes on for a full 10 minutes of just violence to the stage where I didn't know idea what was going on
Starting point is 00:28:19 like just bits where heads are just exploding and I don't know why that head just exploding there's another bit where like a guy's walking and like what looks like a pizza slice gets torn out of his face like it looks like someone
Starting point is 00:28:31 just like took a church chunk out of his head I have no idea what happened to him but he's dead okay now Rambo's
Starting point is 00:28:39 having fun here because the whole thing is like the main guy he's leaving him so he'll duck out and shoot like
Starting point is 00:28:46 the two guys beside him but he's yeah he's kind of to tie him yeah he's really tying with him
Starting point is 00:28:51 and he's like he cuts off the music when you're like oh no I wasn't showing that and he's like
Starting point is 00:28:57 you know run run little mouse oh really yeah I could have killed you 20 times
Starting point is 00:29:02 make a point to him in one stage he's behind him by an arrow and he ducks down again doesn't shoot him yeah yeah so actually is he just being this stuff that he's saying is he like talking through a mic
Starting point is 00:29:15 yeah pre-recorded no he's talking to a mic it's like set up a whole PA system yeah for some reason which is weird because in the party they had to start they weren't using that PASIS you think he would have played some tunes
Starting point is 00:29:27 yeah but no strange okay so eventually it's just down to the one guy, the one guy, okay? The boss, man. Yeah, yeah. So then Rambo then blows up all the remaining tunnels. Right. And the main guy's like, oh shit. And he runs out of the tunnels and he's in the barn then. He's like,
Starting point is 00:29:47 oh, I'll probably should have killed him. I had then. Okay. This has not gone well. So I was expecting it to be some kind of thing where like Rambo shows up and then drops all his weapons and it's just fucking hand-and-hand. Yeah, I was expecting that. No, what actually happens is... Crete shows up And to do the final Like you know he punched him and it freezes So I thought it'd be like that
Starting point is 00:30:13 Like one final fight It's actually actually happens a real letdown where He's standing beside the barn Arrow gets shot he gets one arm sucks the barn okay Is this Rambo get shot? No this is the Yeah now Rambo has been shot a few times During the excitement
Starting point is 00:30:28 But it's okay so it's a movie shot he goes like and then just keep going I'm just gonna hurt tomorrow yeah so instead he shoots the cartel leader four times so one each arm and one both legs so he stuck to the wall and then Rambo slowly walks up to him
Starting point is 00:30:44 holding a knife all right and he says you took away the only thing I loved you broke my heart now I'm going to take your heart and I turn to my friend John there's like there's no way he's actually going to pull out his heart is there there's no way he's actually don't do this guess he gets the knife
Starting point is 00:31:01 pulls out the heart rips out his chest and shows it to him oh my god the guy dies he drops the heart into the floor okay now he's starting to feel the effect he's been shot a few times as I said
Starting point is 00:31:14 so he's starting to feel the effects now so rambles stumbles he looks around his former home is full of corpses everywhere which is how he likes the gaff is wrecked though the gaff is wrecked you know
Starting point is 00:31:27 that could be a good meme you know when the project X party goes crazy yeah it'd be funny if it was like one teen in the party at the start of film just got lost down there Mr. Rambo
Starting point is 00:31:41 oh my mom's gonna be worried she'll let me borrow the car oh my brother is soccer break does I really need to get home so Rambo he's stumbling now he doesn't have one so what I don't understand is
Starting point is 00:31:55 he sits down a rocking chair okay and you're thinking like oh it's going to a beautiful end to the series and Rambo he's got revenge and he's going to die on the rocking
Starting point is 00:32:05 chair but he just starts to show as the master but he's the whole speech about like you know
Starting point is 00:32:09 she's dead but I'll continue to fight for justice to who no it's a vice over oh right he does a speech as if he's Batman
Starting point is 00:32:17 and he's like I'll continue to fight for the downtrodden for those who need my help for there will always be a rambo basically something like that
Starting point is 00:32:23 for as long as there is violence in the world there would be me you know that and then they do credits
Starting point is 00:32:30 and they'll have slow motion shots of all the previous Rambo films. Oh. Which is definitely a sign of them going like, this is not Rambo enough. We need to remind people at the end. Which is weird because like, it goes on for ages. I was expecting like maybe something to be after credits, but went down for so long that me and John just got bored and left.
Starting point is 00:32:48 Apparently after credits, he hops on a horse and rides away. Okay. But I didn't see that. No. It's not worth staying for. So that was Rambo. Okay. And overall, did you say you enjoyed watching it?
Starting point is 00:33:01 it's kind of like you feel bad you feel like you're a bad person for a giant yeah i know what you mean yeah especially a lot of it really the drug the climax is like a white guy killing 600 mexican people and you're like in this day and age like it wouldn't be too hard to give him like one mexican buddy or something like that who isn't evil yeah but then he's crazy you want to smoke this leaf yeah a bit of comic relief like that Which in the 80s, that definitely would have happened.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Oh, yeah, totally, yeah. Yeah. So, I don't... It was a film. It was a film that you watched. Yeah. I don't know if they were watching it. But I had fun watching it with John the time.
Starting point is 00:33:43 I think I would have fun if I, like, just smoke a joint and watch that. The thing is, it goes so over the top with the violence. Yeah. It's great. And if it only cut out any scene of Sloan talking... Okay, I just have the violence. If you cut that out and be more like drive... Yeah, where you...
Starting point is 00:34:00 didn't talk at all yeah yeah it would have been a way better film okay like i almost wish to just did a little thing where like he got an accident and he lost his tongue or something like that you can't talk yeah yeah which it would actually be better first alone because then you just has less to do yeah like don't like that's the your biggest weakness whatever makes fun of you because of that like the way you talk yeah yeah yeah so how great would that be just like he's mute that would be yeah i'd like that. To honest, I think I'm going to watch this film, I mean.
Starting point is 00:34:30 Yeah. It sounds like a lot of fun. It sounds stupid and funny and we should watch it over the top violence. You should watch it and you should recite the whole film again. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:39 And then we'll see if there's any difference. Because I probably forgot something. Yeah, we're going to do a whole series just about Rambo. Yeah, but it's like, it's like you watch and you recite it. You watch it again and I recite it. And it's just a slow, it's almost like a case study in madness.
Starting point is 00:34:54 we're by the end like we're reading everything into it like i think this like politically i think this is like really this is correct making a lot of sense to me oh actually there's one thing i forgot to mention there's one time he's coming back from mexico and one of the manny johns where he sees a sign that says do not cross you enter in america it's like barbed wire he just drives right yeah yeah which that's definitely a scene of like people watching I'm be like, see? See? It does sound like there's a real
Starting point is 00:35:29 Like those coming over They're not going to be still on To tell you that There seems to be a real right Like the theme is like Mexicans are all criminals And gangsters and there's this Borders soft
Starting point is 00:35:43 And they would have liked If there was one Mexican You could root for Yeah They're all awful They're all either awful Or they're underwritten female characters Yeah
Starting point is 00:35:54 that's it like pretty much but you know what yeah it is what it is it'll win best picture it's less racist the green book
Starting point is 00:36:07 I'll say that that's um it's for Stallone's politics before we go like you know what I know Franks Stallone is very pro Trump Franks Stallone
Starting point is 00:36:18 yeah Franks Sloan's a brother oh he's like a real joke oh right right apparently Norm was doing jokes about him on S&L and Sylvester had to go like please just don't make those jokes
Starting point is 00:36:28 because Frank's not doing too well Oh really? Yeah Frank's pretty depressed So please don't make fun And so is he an actor as well Like it just tried to be an actor Yeah
Starting point is 00:36:38 Okay right right Jesus that's I mean your entire straight It's of Sylvester Stallone Is the you know The big actor or whatever He did softcore back in the day as well Sylvester Stallone?
Starting point is 00:36:49 Yeah The Italian Stallion is what they called him Is that right? Yeah Well there you go a little bit of foreshattering is that why he called himself the Italian Stallion and Rocky
Starting point is 00:36:58 that's probably that's what they call him is it? Yeah the Italian Stalin I've never haven't watched Rocky The Italian Stallion Rocky Balboa Yeah
Starting point is 00:37:08 It's kind of sad Like Stallone Whatever you think at him It's really It's the end of an error now Like this He says he's quitting Rocky This is going to be
Starting point is 00:37:17 Probably his last Rambo He sort of Sevestra Salon's sort of Defined like masculinity in cinema in the 80s with like Rocky and Rambo Well that's how I base my masculinity
Starting point is 00:37:27 It's just going on punching people that look like club or lying Oh, great's fool I'm kidding Mr T was in Rocky 3 Yeah yeah God Those are
Starting point is 00:37:40 We're just talking about much better films now You know the more think about The less of like Ramble 5 now Yeah Yeah it's probably best not to think about it You go in and watch it And then forget it as soon as possible Yeah
Starting point is 00:37:52 It's the only way you can ever enjoy it. You know what? Watching Rambo is kind of like committing a crime. Like it's kind of, you ever like, you ever steal from someone, like an older person and you feel bad about it? Yeah, sure. I haven't. Oh. I'm just trying to get you to confess.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Yeah, but afterwards you feel like really, oh, no, I'll tell us. This is my water kid. No, no, I'd make a good example. I remember being a kid, I stole a friend of mine's Pokemon card once. Okay. And I was like, I got the card in him, but I feel bad about it. Yeah, yeah. That's kind of what watching Rambo's like.
Starting point is 00:38:20 You would have to kill my friend. Yeah. to get rid of this guilt. I'm going to, like, set him on fire and shoot him. Go, Charrazzard. It's weird, like, Joker gets all... Like, Joker's in a lot of heat now
Starting point is 00:38:32 because inciting violence stuff. Yeah, yeah. Well, like, they say it might incite violence, but, like, people were... Like, mass shootings are an everyday occurrence. Like, you... I don't think you can blame Joker. I suppose...
Starting point is 00:38:43 It's just a well-made film. It's... I highly doubt that anyone watching Rambo 5 will be influenced start digging tunnels on their house and then start a gang war with the cartel and if they do fair play to him
Starting point is 00:38:55 yeah in fairness if James Holmes had done that instead of shooting up the dark night rises I have more respect for him
Starting point is 00:39:02 I think we should end it there that's a fun little movie review yeah yeah I gave it two thumbs up two thumbs up yeah
Starting point is 00:39:09 but not for not for the right reasons I mean he ripped the guy's heart so like that's pretty cool yeah I mean not actually
Starting point is 00:39:17 but you know well I bet it would feel good actually is just a feel the beat yeah Yeah. Just a warm pulsating. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:25 Nice. A bit wet as well, warm and wet. Getting excited now, yeah. Woo! Woo! Oh no, we're doing after show. Okay, that's the end of that. That was Rambo.
Starting point is 00:39:34 Thanks for listening. We'll be back with something.
