Starting point is 00:00:00 This episode is brought to you by Prime. Obsession is in session. And this summer, Prime originals have everything you want. Steamy romances, irresistible love stories, and the book-to-screen favorites you've already read twice. Off-campus, L, every year after, the love hypothesis, Sterling Point, and more. Slow burns, second chances, chemistry you can feel through the screen.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Your next obsession is waiting. Watch only on Prime. I had a whole one. Already today? No, but like last time, one of the last times you're here, I just had a rap from Tray Joe's. Was it good? Yeah. What wasn't it?
Starting point is 00:00:47 So it was, in quotations, Southwest style. You love that kind of style. Yeah, I guess I do. Yeah. I'd rather have like a more like crazen-oriented rap or salad than more bean-oriented. Yeah, you don't like beans. I don't like beans. But sorry, what was in it?
Starting point is 00:01:06 Let me guess if it was Southwest. Beans, cheddar. Shredded cheddar? Not at all? It shredded something, but it wasn't cheddar because it wasn't orange. It was white. Okay, there's white cheddar. Have you ever heard of white cheddar popcorn?
Starting point is 00:01:20 I don't know. Shredded white cheddar book. I just, like, feel truly. Okay, shredded cheese. Yeah. Oh, okay. And lettuce. Yeah, there's a bit of lettuce.
Starting point is 00:01:31 Tomatoes. Little dite. Like diced like kind of like more of like a salsa There's diced something in it Cucumber? No red pepper bell pepper Oh okay And chicken Yeah
Starting point is 00:01:44 And that was it That was it I didn't even put the dressing on it Okay Because I didn't see it at the bottom of the Oh oh oh Which is like such a It's like what am I gonna do
Starting point is 00:01:54 I can't take it home The dressing? Yeah You could No it's cooking in my car right now In the parking lot Bring it in the put it in the mini fridge And we'll just like
Starting point is 00:02:02 No one will ever use it but we'll all know. Like, no. That's Connor's car dressing. Do you have a, do you have a drawer in your fridge that's dedicated to extra dressings and sauces you get from places? No, but I wish I did. I did. Because the other day, I was like, I wish I didn't have any ketchup. I did have ketchup in my fridge that had expired in 2021.
Starting point is 00:02:20 But I was like, if only I had saved those little. It's not going to kill you. No, it wouldn't kill me. And it's going to taste his hand. Yeah. But I was like, if only I had saved those little ketchup packs. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:30 I have all kinds of. I'm going to start. You, you. You. It's a hoarder's paradise in my sauce drawer. Well, you know what my drawer is in my fridge. No. Oh, I do.
Starting point is 00:02:42 Just a Mott's apple sauce drawer. Mott's apple sauce food. Thank you Mots for sending us. And it's my favorite drawer. A myriad, a plethora even of different styles of sauce, which quick reminder to everyone listening does classify as a liquid at TSA. So don't even freaking try to slip through. Well, that makes complete sense because we've discussed, like, the food lotions.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Don't try to slip through the crack of TSA. Yeah. They clinch. That's a food lotion. Hey, Brooke. Hi, Connor. Are you ready to MAP? I'm ready to pee.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Ignorance is bliss. I'm living in a world of my own, and it's awesome. Oh, I thought I was responsible for 9-11 when I was five. Where were you? In Pennsylvania. Touch grass, might I suggest. We're just going to die. right in today.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Brooke. Haven't seen you in... My name's Connor. I'm in my name's... How the hell are you? Good. How the hell are you? It's been a minute.
Starting point is 00:03:53 It's been a minute, bitch. This is maybe the longest I've ever not seen you. I know. It was a long time. Yeah. Now, welcome everybody as well. Welcome back to Brooke and Connor make a podcast. Thanks for having me back, by the way.
Starting point is 00:04:07 It's always scary when Kelsey comes on, like, thinking like, should I even go back? So that was the thing. So something, something, something. inspired, I have to say. Now, anytime Kelsey's on this podcast, things take off, like a rocket up our eyes. Yeah, because she's perfect. Everything she touches turns to gold. So we got, like, we're going the row right now online.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Yeah. This last clip that we posed last time. And everyone's like, how do I listen to the rest of this podcast? Wow. There are a lot. And I'm like, oh, no, this is, like, this is not. And everyone's like, just type in Brooke and Connor make a podcast. And I'm like, well, this is not Brooklyn Connor.
Starting point is 00:04:45 I just want to, like, be clear. I commented back like four times. Okay, did you need to? Well, I was like, you can listen on Brooklyn Connor. Like, this is a guess. Because they were like, I have never seen you people. Oh, okay. Which is a funny.
Starting point is 00:04:57 We're just cracking. Yeah. Yeah. No, it was funny. Our asses were just cracking. It was funny. But it's just like, it's an important reminder. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:04 That Kelsey is carrying BNC on her back. Kelsey carried. Kelsey Carried. I have to be honest. Kelsey Carries. Kelsey carried both. Present. Pets.
Starting point is 00:05:14 Past, present Yeah Probably future Yeah, she'll be back Yes, she'll be back But it is a scary feeling Leaving your baby With a better mother
Starting point is 00:05:23 Well, I know, that's I mean the last time I called in and I was like Oh, what are you guys What are you guys doing? Right I even posted my story I'm coming back
Starting point is 00:05:31 Right Don't get too excited Yeah But you're back We're glad to have you back Now we're back to some normalcy Yeah You have been
Starting point is 00:05:40 Serving Serving Kant overseas I was serving on overseas. How was that? It was awesome. Yeah. It really was great. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:49 And, you know, I'm not a great traveler just in terms of it makes me, you know, uneasy. Sure. But so I do it like once every three years I'll do a big trip. And I won't be leaving the country for, I would say this is like, I won't be leaving for another four years after this one. Because we went to London first. Yeah. And then Geneva. So that was a plane.
Starting point is 00:06:11 There was a 10-hour flight to London. and then another little plane to Switzerland and then another little plane Geneva's not Switzerland? No, no it is. Okay. So I'll start over. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:21 Okay, long plane to London. Yeah. Little plane from London to Switzerland. Yeah. Which is Geneva is inside of there. We took a little plane from London to Geneva, Switzerland. Yes. Okay, great.
Starting point is 00:06:34 Yeah. And it was awesome. Yeah. And then a little plane from Geneva, Switzerland, to Lisbon, Portugal, got in a bus for four hours to Lagos. Portugal and then got back onto that bus to go back to Lisbon, Portugal. Then I had the good fortune of having that home canceled immediately.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Right. We got that on the phone with you last week. That little $2,000 set back. Now, when you're saying that I'm now needing a collab between Lady Gaga saying, bus, train, another bus, no sleep. Yes, yeah. That's probably what it felt like. But I also got a lot of natural Libre saying, big kiss.
Starting point is 00:07:14 little hug big kiss little hug hug big kiss you know I'm not familiar with the Nacho Libre
Starting point is 00:07:23 oh like what a treat we'll have to we'll have to review that yeah that was signed in a letter
Starting point is 00:07:28 that was written to him or maybe by him or to him as well that's amazing there's nothing Jack Black
Starting point is 00:07:35 can't do no no nope he nailed Nacho Libre it's honestly comfort movie for me
Starting point is 00:07:40 but he writes he's reading the letter and it's little like little XOXO XO XXO X-O-X-O, but the axes are like some are lowercase, some are uppercase, and he reads it off.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Like this hug, hug, hug, hug, hug, big kiss, little hug, big kiss, big kiss, little kiss. Okay, you know what? I have 100% seen this movie. Yeah. That image, that's still image is enough to bring you back. Yeah. Yeah. So that's what I was hearing.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Yeah, totally. Yeah, totally. Anyway, yeah. It was enough travel for me to be like really excited when the flight is. came around offering an American Airlines credit card for me to jump, jump on that and apply on in flight. Wait, you lost me for a second. Okay. I like it was enough travel for me to get like really excited about when that flight attendant on the way home was walking around with those like little pamphlets. Why did you get excited to sign up for the credit card after you've done this
Starting point is 00:08:34 huge trip? Because then next time I travel, it'll be super easy with all those perks and benefits of the my American Airlines credit card. For example, but you just said you're not, but you said you're not. But you said you're Yeah, but the next time I do, I'll have, maybe I could get upward into a first class seat. Maybe they won't cancel my flight. I'll get points. I don't think that they're like, wait, hang on, guys, there's a girl in the gate with the American Airlines credit card. We can't cancel this flight. Okay, I don't agree.
Starting point is 00:09:02 That's not how it works. Okay, I don't agree. But I will say, I don't know if that's the move for you. I already got it, so. Okay. Just because I think my understanding with those credit cards, although you do build credit, It is more beneficial for frequent flyers to have frequent fly. I frequently fly.
Starting point is 00:09:19 I would frequently fly more with my credit card. What I'm saying is I'm not going to go out of the country again any time soon. But I'd love to go maybe to Pennsylvania to visit my family. Totally. And with the added perks of my American Airlines card, I can do so in style in first class. Yeah. So that's something I look forward to. Me and you had talked, we were potentially going to be at the Cain's grand opening that transpired yesterday.
Starting point is 00:09:43 day. We had thought we were invited to Cannes. And it was actually the Cain's opening of the chicken shop. So we were we had read the we received the text. I had been inundated with Cannes Film Festival which was happening in France and I was like I wonder if I could ever
Starting point is 00:10:03 go to that. And then we get a text, Brooke and I both at the same time. You guys have been invited to be flown out to Cair France and I said yeah it's all happening. for us right now kind of, you know, willed that into existence.
Starting point is 00:10:21 And I say, yes, yes, a thousand times, yes, we'll be there, we'll be on the next flight to took France. Yes! Yes! And then I reread the text and it was Cains, fried chicken, which is opening.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Rising Cains, yeah. Raising, raising. Who were having a celebration for their flagship store in Manhattan. Very cool still. We were really wanting to go though but we couldn't make it work but maybe next time maybe next time maybe next time canes will open in paris can't okay how about that what a fun dyslexic adventure we both went on
Starting point is 00:10:59 that would be really fun yeah because i the whole time i'm like my heart is fluttering like i genuinely felt like timothy shalame i know you did i know you for a second i was like but but at the end of day I was not timidisha-a-me. I was like Tim, Tim Chalett, you know, like, I was not, I was not, I was not so much Barry as like, Paris, Texas. Yeah, yeah, I know. You took it hard.
Starting point is 00:11:27 I did. I took it, I took it really personally. Yeah. Who could blame you? And then, you know what license plan I saw immediately after? I can't remember what it said. I did send it to someone, so let me pull that. up okay um this is this was on my walk home i can oh c-a-n-n-es you're being formed by the
Starting point is 00:11:51 no i can't actually i can't make it i was not quite you could always buy a ticket and i could buy you i could front you the money via my american airlines credit card i could purchase you a ticket for can get those points and then you could venmo me i see london i see france yeah that's That's an opportunity for you if you're not invited by the film festival itself. Which doesn't seem like it's going to happen for me, and that's okay. You don't know. You don't know. I am both invited and not invited to Cannes France. 150% Connor. That's a good way to look at it. Do you have any questions for me about my trip? I...
Starting point is 00:12:30 No, let me rephrase that. What questions do you have for me? You must have some. Well, now I feel like I've seen the post, and now it's been, you've been back for a week now that I'm like, Well, I didn't tell you anything about it. I know, but I need a refresher. Like, you need to walk us through what you did and what you liked. I know the first day when you got there, you were loving beer. I really was. And then as quickly as you started to love hops and carbonation in a brewery as well as your tour guide,
Starting point is 00:13:00 as quickly as that came in, it was gone. It sits in the stomach in a weird way. Do you experience that? After nine, I do. Okay. There's something almost intoxicating about nine beers. No, I was loving like two beers. I was like, that's awesome.
Starting point is 00:13:14 And I felt like I don't handle my alcohol well in general. Oh, no, yeah. Yeah. So I was like loving the feeling of like being in control like with beer because that's what it felt. You do have to slow down because you're burping and you're, it's large. Yeah, you're like sipping slowly and it's just like a light. I finally understood what people meant by like getting buzzed. Yep.
Starting point is 00:13:35 Yeah. So that was so that was nice. And then, you know, you always take it one step too far, I guess. Right. What was that set for you? It was just like an extreme stomach pain. And by the way, when I was having my last and final beer, a girl came up to me.
Starting point is 00:13:50 I was out in a pub in London, and a girl came up to me and I had just put in my eyedrops. And I was a little tipsy from the beer, and I had just put in my eye drop because, you know, I got contacts. Yeah. And she was saying that she went to UT and knows you. And I had eye drop dripping down every ankle. of my face and I'm telling her like I'm not crying.
Starting point is 00:14:12 It's just my eye drops. And I think she must have thought that I was on. What's like a very hard drug that would make your eyes red that's not weed? MDMA. I don't think MDMA. I mean, I don't know. I think it just makes your, oh no, Molly makes your pupil's huge. Okay, she must have thought I was on something because I could not stop telling, like screaming
Starting point is 00:14:33 about my bloodshot eyes are compulsive of alcohol, cocaine, and marijuana. She must have thought I was on the trifecta. The Holy Trinity. But she says hi. Of alcohol, cocaine, and marijuana. Yeah. She says hi. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:14:46 What's her name? You know. Yeah. Yeah. I loved her. I really did. You got some sweet friends. Miss you.
Starting point is 00:14:56 My sweet alone. Yes. Yes. Okay. Okay. Well, I guess I'll go through each. Yeah. I know that you mentioned Lagos was your favorite.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Actually, on the phone. Hey, you know what? Let me go through a little brief. Go ahead. Synopsis of each. Jump in whenever I would love that. Yeah. First place I went was London, which I only stayed in Soho, which to me felt very much like a smaller New York.
Starting point is 00:15:19 New York, yeah. Yeah. So that was nice in the sense that I felt like I was in America, but I also felt like I was in America, which like is, you know, good and bad when you're traveling. Yeah. Comforting, but maybe I wanted, you know, a little bit more of a, like, European flair. So I would live in London, 100%, 100%, but I don't think I'd, like, go necessarily if I'm, like, trying to be. and have like a European adventure again. Right.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Something about London is that I learned is that the people driving cars would rather hit you than slow down. It's your fault for being in the road. Yeah, it's not like there I do feel like if you step out in the road, especially if you're American. I stepped out in the road, Connor. I, Connor, you, I can't believe I'm sitting here next to you today.
Starting point is 00:16:08 I have never had more of a near-death experience than this truck barreling at 60 miles per hour, it touched the hairs on my arm. I, like, that's something that really gets you thinking because we had just gotten out of our Uber because Alexa, our friend that I was traveling with, needed to throw up due to seasickness in the Uber. So we got out.
Starting point is 00:16:30 For the beer tour? No, this was just simply due to seasick. Oh. So we got out of the Uber, and then I'm like checking on her and step into the street, of course, and then almost got hit by a truck. But that's the kind of thing.
Starting point is 00:16:41 that gets you thinking like what if I had stepped out of that what if she had to throw up one second later wouldn't be here there's a different world where you're not here i wouldn't be thinking about that a lot yeah i'm dead i'm dead in every other universe i know i think i'm dead in more universes than i'm alive in it's funny all these things you think about and you're like shouldn't that shouldn't that shouldn't have worked right so i that was truly like very jarring but it kind of maybe was what the doctor ordered just a little bit yeah slow you down because i was having a lot of anxiety that travel anxiety just nothing like getting it hit almost hit by a car to really calm you down and I was just like you know what like you could truly get hit by another car any second live in the
Starting point is 00:17:21 moment until you do you know so that kind of sobered me up I'm always saying that so that was I think the worst part about London was the car piece and also I could never maybe I couldn't live there because I could not drive there ever and I want to live somewhere I could drive I have this one awesome memory of last time I was in London one of our friends that lives there picked us up in a convertible mini cooper and there was a song playing M83 by M83 do do do do do I don't know
Starting point is 00:17:55 And the windows down and I had I felt like Both Mary Kate and Ashley And I was just living it up Was that in the Mary Kate and Ashley movie? I don't know I just felt like that's something they would do It was kind of just like Put your hands up and look a big bin
Starting point is 00:18:11 At night I didn't realize your hands were up No, that was, I didn't mention that the first time around. But now you see it. Anyways, go ahead. Oh, and that was really the thing I remember most of the- Imagine me with my hands up in the air and then you're crossing the street and we just pummel you in a mini-cooper. That's probably another universe we hit you in that mini-cooper.
Starting point is 00:18:31 There's, oh my God, what was I just watching that had so many universes? Marvel. Yes, Spider-Man No Way Home. Incredible ending to that franchise, by the way. Although there might be another one. Okay, London was great. The whole reason that we went on the whole trip initially was to see a play in London. It's based on a book, A Little Life, which is my favorite book, but it is truly like the most, it's 900 pages.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Yeah. And it is like the most devastating, like morbid, depressing, like traumatic. Yeah, that's, you know, they like horrible, horrible. Like some people are like have a huge problem with the book because it's just. like hit after hit of like trauma do you like enjoy being hurt well i was thinking a lot about like why do i when i was watching the play i was like why do people like this including myself i think like it's nice like i don't enjoy being sad about my own life like i'd much rather be like i think it's a lot easier for me i'm looking i'm looking at this that's the cover i'm looking at this
Starting point is 00:19:35 cover of this book and i'm saying yeah no yeah i'm actually and imagine that like being six pounds in your hand. Pass. Yeah. Yeah. You know what I'd rather do? Yes. What?
Starting point is 00:19:50 Like anything else. I can't even think of something that's become even comparative. Well, me, I'm telling you why I like it. Mm-hmm. I think it's just like, because I don't like being sad about my own life. Yeah. It's just like nice to be able to like feel sad. Like and like express sadness, but in a way that like doesn't have to do with you.
Starting point is 00:20:09 If that makes sense. Yeah. Because I was thinking about why people would enjoy it. Yeah. But yeah, like reading it was hard, seeing it, I had to close my eyes. Oh. Yeah. How long was it play? It was only four hours.
Starting point is 00:20:21 Oh. Oh, yeah, that's shorter than most Marvel movies. Yeah. But it went by, like, so fast. It was so engaging. And if stuff like that doesn't bother you, I would 100% recommend reading it. And if you find yourself in London seeing it. Or that being said, if stuff like that bothers you even so much as a little bit,
Starting point is 00:20:40 don't, do not see it. Oh, gosh. They got the guy from the book cover to lay on the, No, that's not him. You know who that is, though? That's James Norton, who was in Little Women. He was Emma Watson's husband and Little Woman, and he was fantastic. And the guy behind him, my new Tier 1, that's, no, they look completely different.
Starting point is 00:20:57 They don't even have one similar feature. They're looking exactly the same. Okay, on the left, that's Luke Thompson, who's actually in Bridgetton. He plays one of the brothers. Oh, I love when famous, famous, famous people that don't. He's not, he's like one of like the side characters. But the cool thing about Bridgetton will have his own season. Oh, that's great.
Starting point is 00:21:14 So we're kind of getting acquainted with him before he's big, you know? He hasn't gotten his season yet. But just like knowing there's a promise of him having like a really huge gigantic show on Netflix and he's still just up on stage. See, in my eyes, this is the most amazing thing that anyone could do. Remind me to circle back on the theater after you're done. And James, the guy on the right who plays the main guy, he doesn't leave the stage once in four hours and he has diabetes so he has to hide insulin all around the stage.
Starting point is 00:21:42 Oh, that's incredible. Isn't that wild? Yeah, that is. It was just so breathtaking. Well, I'm glad you got to see that. That's awesome. That was the highlight of the trip. Good.
Starting point is 00:21:49 For sure. And then. Seeing as it was the reason you went. Yes. That's good. No. And I did not have high hopes for it just because, like, how do you make a 900-page book a play? They sure did it.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Mm-hmm. And then Geneva, you would not like it at all. I loved it. There's nothing to do besides just sit by the gorgeous lake, which I loved. And you can swim in it. That's nice that you guys went during a time that you could swim at it. Yeah. Oh yeah, that was amazing.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Many times it's not going to happen. And the people were nice and it was so clean. I love clean. So, so clean. Yeah. You would like that piece. But that's very much a place to go like if you're like busy, busy traveling and you need just like a day to reset. Go to Geneva.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Okay. Hell yeah. Write a book. Write a book of Geneva. You could 100% write a book in Geneva. Good thinking, Connor. I might write a 900 page very sad book. I was just about to say maybe a little life was written in Geneva.
Starting point is 00:22:40 I was thinking also when you were saying don't don't see this. unless you are like into that sort of stuff. Some people are just like into the same reason people are into like really sad music. Some people just like to like to facilitate sadness. Yeah, no, I think there's something comforting because it's cathartic. Yeah, no, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Yeah, I don't, I don't, I don't like to be sad. Yeah, interesting. Like about stuff in my own life. So being sad about other stuff is really, yeah, a release, if you will. Yeah. Okay, so then you make it to Geneva. I wouldn't like Geneva and then what happened? No, you wouldn't like Geneva.
Starting point is 00:23:16 And then we got on the plane to Lisbon, which is where we plan to get on a train, to then take that train to Lagos, which is a little beach fishing town in the south of Portugal. One of my favorite tweets in the world is Lisbon, and it's Greta Thunberg saying, Lisbon, exclamation point. And someone quoted and said, congrats on coming out, Queen. Oh, love it. So happy Pride Month. That's a good callback. The train actually completely canceled. They're on strike.
Starting point is 00:23:44 So we had to get on that four-hour bus piece that I was telling you about, which was right. Wait. Yeah. They were on strike in Italy as well. There must be something going on in Europe. There is, and I can't remember what it is. So let's move on. Lagos was just the most breathtaking, gorgeous place ever.
Starting point is 00:24:08 I think you're obsessed with Lagos. You might be on to something. Yeah. And I don't really like fish if it's not sushi, but it's like a fishing town. And I loved the clams that I got. You wouldn't like this. Not going to see me eating a clam. No, no.
Starting point is 00:24:23 But I really loved it. And the people were so nice. And it was just like a small, a very small town where you feel like everybody kind of knows each other and is so friendly. I love that. There was a great nightlife. And at that point, I was going through extreme binky withdraws. So I did find a cannabis imitation store on the streets of Logos. What was it called?
Starting point is 00:24:40 Your cannabis. device. Well, my purchase? Yeah. I purchased the... I know what it's called if you want me to say it. No, I know. I screenshot it. I know what it is. The amnesia Terminator. I kept calling it the insomnia annihilator. That's a great spin-off.
Starting point is 00:24:56 One sativa and one... One sativa and one is... What's the other than setiva? Indica. Indica. Indica. Indica and then setiva. Yeah. But it's not... Amnesia Terminator. But it's not... I didn't get hash. I got a binky. That sounds like...
Starting point is 00:25:10 But it's not THC because that's illegal. It's HHC. Yeah. Don't know what that means. All I know is that it'll put you right to, it'll annihilate your insomnia as well as your amnesia. Wow, excited. Yeah, I really love it. And I still have it.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Wait, amnesia. Yeah, I think it's an English thing. I think they meant. Insomnia? Insomnia. So annesia incinerator. What's it called? The amnesia slayer.
Starting point is 00:25:35 The amnesia Terminator is like, that would be like a rock. That'd be like a cappuccino Because I'm like Oh, I have amnesia Oh, I remember It's like Adderall Did you do an Adderall? No, amnesia is when you forget things
Starting point is 00:25:50 But it's terminating the amnesia book So you're all of a sudden remembering everything Yeah, remembering what you're tired It doesn't really make sense That's what I'm saying So I think they meant insomnia Because it did put me to sleep It's not so much false advertising
Starting point is 00:26:06 As a language barrier I think Why is it being advertised in England? to English speakers. It's not being advertised to English speakers. I just saw the packaging. It's an amnesia slayer. I know, but I'm saying it's mostly advertised to the people of Lagos who do not speak English.
Starting point is 00:26:22 They speak Portuguese. But it's English. Yeah, I know. But have you never seen things in different countries that are in English that make no sense? Things in different countries that are being advertised in English to people that speak the language of the country that they're being sold? What are you saying? Let's move on. But you know those teachers?
Starting point is 00:26:37 I need the amnesia terminator. You do. You know, if you go to like a different. country and you see t-shirts that are written in English and they just don't make any sort of sense whatsoever. Well, because of the people that are selling the t-shirts are trying to appeal to Americans that don't speak the language of the country that they're in. What? Okay, I understand.
Starting point is 00:26:54 I understand what you're saying. Okay. We're saying the same thing, but just like really... Just having completely different opinions on it? No, no, no. We're saying the same thing. I'm saying if I work at the t-shirt stand and I speak Spanish and I'm in Spain. and I'm trying to get a shirt for you that says
Starting point is 00:27:14 here's a good here's a good one say I live in Cabo and I'm trying to get all of the all of the Greek light sorority fraternity kids to buy these funny t-shirts and it says yeah okay sorry I can't do this I can't do this I can't do this I know that's what I'm saying I'm that t-shirt that we're looking at right now on the screen that says I'm angry who you are that is I'm angry who you are I'm angry who you are that is the exact same experience
Starting point is 00:27:45 as the amnesia terminator. Let's go to your next location on your trip. I can't, we can't, this is like so going nowhere. Okay, got back on that. I think we're saying the same thing. Sweet, sweet, sweet bus to Lisbon. Yeah. Congrats Queen.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Thank you. I have to say, Lisbon, I think, was my least favorite by a lot. Yeah. Yeah. It's called the city of seven hills. Six and a half too many hills for my, for my liking, personally. Mm-hmm. There was also some sort of...
Starting point is 00:28:16 Where is it San Francisco? Right. There was also some sort of festival going on. So it was very crowded and dirty. And that was just... That was that. And the weather was also not good. Yeah, that'll kill your trip.
Starting point is 00:28:31 That'll kill your mood. Yeah. And then I came home. And we heard about your debacle at the airport. And then, yep. You heard of my debacle. Well, at least you got on in first class and you slept. Did you get in first class?
Starting point is 00:28:44 I was in row 30. The last road of the plane, it sounds like 3090, so I was excited. Oh, that's what it was. Yeah. Yeah. Caden was in 1A. Nice. You know why? Credit card.
Starting point is 00:28:55 He has the American Airlines credit card. And it was amazing. I got to go with him through all the expedited lines because I kept saying he was my boyfriend. Loved cosplay that. And I actually think that was it. Well, that sounds good. That sounds like altogether a good trip, no fatalities. Almost.
Starting point is 00:29:12 No casualties. Mm-hmm. Nothing. That's nice Yeah How have you been by the way I can see I was on the podcast last week So I don't really have
Starting point is 00:29:22 Okay I mean they already all know what I've been up to I've been traveling a lot And so it was nice to have like a week at home I don't even remember what I did last week It's actually insane I guess I got home to do the podcast I need the amnesia terminator So I can remember what I did
Starting point is 00:29:40 I'll bring it next time But basically I was in Hawaii That was really fun. It was a great trip. Did you talk about it already? Briefly. We didn't kind of dive in. Do you want to dive?
Starting point is 00:29:51 I don't really have anything else to say. Do you have any specific questions? Oh, what questions do I have for you about Hawaii? Yeah, if you don't have any, no big you. No, I do. Yeah. What island were you on? Maui.
Starting point is 00:30:07 Is that your favorite? I love it. It's very slow. Not like it against. You like slow? It was nice for the trip because I was with people when we were celebrating my cousins. Right.
Starting point is 00:30:19 Birthday. I forgot I did do other stuff. Oh, what did you do? I just remembered. And hold on. Okay. I'm going to tell you. Holding.
Starting point is 00:30:29 So then I got back from Hawaii. It was really fun. It was like a good group people. It was pretty chill. The trip was like pretty mellow. I did karaoke three nights in a row. Perfect. Which is awesome.
Starting point is 00:30:37 I like love karaoke because I keep thinking each time I go that like this will be the time that I'm good. What was your favorite song that you sang? New York, New York by Frank Sinatra. Yeah. Yeah, it was. It doesn't matter where you are because everyone's going to know that song since it's like six words, really.
Starting point is 00:30:55 If I can make it here, I can make it literally. I think I only know, New York. New York. And that's two of the six words. But they sing that and sing? I don't know. I don't know. Have you seen Sing?
Starting point is 00:31:09 With the animated pig? No, I haven't. Connor, one of the best movies of all time. You know who voices the animated pig. James Corden, right? Nick Kroll. Oh. And you know who voices Johnny the gorilla?
Starting point is 00:31:21 James Gordon just looks like an animated pig. What was who? He does. He's like pink and round. Okay, Connor. His face is literally round. I don't know if you can say that. Can I not?
Starting point is 00:31:34 Look at this cast. Oh, they're all gorgeous. Yeah. And I've played for you before Taryn Edgerton's rendition of Singh as Johnny the gorilla is, and I stand by this better than Elton's. And when I said sing And when I said sing, I meant I'm still standing I'm sorry. I know exactly this movie
Starting point is 00:31:52 I'm talking about now. It is so good. Yeah. Oh, he's an incredible talent, Taryn after 10th. He's a talent. Yeah. I would love to tell him that. I think I would, if I could say one thing to him,
Starting point is 00:32:04 I would say your performance of I'm still standing. Not in Rocket Man, which you worked so hard on in Singh. It changed my life. Aaron was actually at Glass and Berry this past weekend. and seeing Elton John and he posted a picture of him. Also, I love Terran because he's such a normal dude
Starting point is 00:32:23 and I love one of influencers, he's not an influencer, but like it's very pertinent with like big major celebrities only hang out with like normal people. You know who else was just popping around dancing at that festival? I go, he's like posting pictures
Starting point is 00:32:37 with all his friends. Yeah. And I'm like, who the fuck is Landon? Yeah. Who is Trevor? Who are these people? They're just his friend.
Starting point is 00:32:45 Yeah, of course. famous people need to have friends. Yeah, but you usually expect someone like Taryn to just hang around. Very elite crowd. Andrew Garfield and Jamie Dornan were there with their friends. I think that maybe Glassonbury might be like pretty much go and respect each other. Oh, I've already got my tickets for next year. Yeah. Do you actually?
Starting point is 00:33:02 100%. You bought them? No, but I'm gonna. Okay. And you know I want to go back to London. You need to get back to, you need to get your ass back to London. I know. I know they do.
Starting point is 00:33:12 Oh. And then, oh, so then I go on. On Wednesday night, I went to this premiere of this movie, which is now getting some press, which I know some people have already seen from Sundance. It's called Theater Camp. And it's so funny because Hank, my roommate's cousin worked on the movie. And so Hank sent me the invite. And I had not heard of the movie yet.
Starting point is 00:33:33 And so I'm like getting ready to go. And I was like, oh, wait, Hank, this is the movie that you got invited to the, I'm like going with you to the premiere for? Um, first of all, incredible movie. I have not. I have not sat. I've not sat and it was a very, very intimate screening. Um, and there was not like a, there was not very much downtime where people were not laughing. Wow.
Starting point is 00:34:04 Like actually, the acting in this movie, the writing is incredible, but like the acting too, like they casted it so perfectly where there's so many nuanced and the cuts. I was actually talking with literally the. the producers after. I was like, the cuts were so funny because I'm not a theater kid. Right. I'm surprised you liked it as much as you did it.
Starting point is 00:34:22 When I posted it, everyone was like, you're a theater kid? I'm like, no. But they made this movie in a way where if you're not a theater kid and you don't understand all of the references, the acting is actually funny enough
Starting point is 00:34:31 to where like, it's enjoyable to watch. And it's a hard thing to do as far as theater camp's concerned. It was really funny. You're going to lose your mind. I know. I know. It was so good. Everyone was awesome.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Jimmy Tatro was just perfectly cast as like, this like Is that Noah Galvin? I don't remember his name but they were yeah Noah Galvin he was there He's engaged to Ben Platt Yeah Ben was not
Starting point is 00:34:57 Ben wasn't there but it was really cool Dylan Mulvane he was there René Rapp Olivia Wilde was there who heard me talking about her because I was one inch away from her I can't believe Olivia Wilde is here
Starting point is 00:35:09 that's so random one inch could feel my breath on her shoulder but it was just such a good movie it was incredible and um that's really all i have to say about that i'm not a theater kid but this was an inspiring movie and then this past weekend i have a friend who uh is Swedish two friends that are Swedish yeah and he wanted to host a midsummer party which i didn't know the movie midsummer was based on a real event that happens every year called midsummer.
Starting point is 00:35:46 I didn't either. And it's about the summer solstice. And it's just a party and there's a bunch of traditions. And it was a big turnout. Everyone wears white and you do all these chance and dances. I was able to take a step back and look at it from afar. Yeah. Shocking.
Starting point is 00:36:03 And I hope that none of my neighbors saw celebrating midsummer. Uh-huh. Like culty. So culty. And no offense to anyone who is from... Sweden. Oh my gosh, and we already said
Starting point is 00:36:16 I wouldn't even like Geneva. So those are different countries. Geneva is in Switzerland. Yep, so this is Sweden. Hmm. They should have gotten together and discussed
Starting point is 00:36:27 marketing around these two places. They just both start with S. Sweden, Switzerland. Sweden. S.W. SW. Sweden, Switzerland. Yeah, SW.
Starting point is 00:36:39 And there's an N or Ind at the end. Okay. I rest my kid. Okay. It was really interesting. We sang a lot of songs. We had ham as well as meatballs, as well as fish. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:52 And then shots every 10 minutes. So to me, it felt like the throw-up festival the whole time. But it was really, really fun. Yeah, you have these shots every couple minutes. They are like, we're going to do this song. And for my understanding, they don't have the best iambic penthouse. in Sweden. Because every time you think you know where one of these songs is going, it takes a turn.
Starting point is 00:37:20 And so this is for all of our Swedish listeners. Could you recite one that you remember? Yeah, Little Frogs. Do you want to look up Little Frogs? Mid-Summer Party Little Frogs. I will try. Oh, there was a dance that goes with it too. Little Frog, little frog.
Starting point is 00:37:42 And that's as much as I can remember of it. Okay. But it was just like, fascinating. Okay. I'm sure we'll get like a bunch of messages now saying I said something wrong or. Hey, that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes. I know. You know?
Starting point is 00:37:57 The meatballs were good. I'm sure. I would drive to IKEA right now to have meatballs and some more meatballs as well. Hey. Hey. Are meatballs from Sweden or Italy? Swedish meatballs are from Sweden. Are they completely different?
Starting point is 00:38:15 I think Swedish meatballs are different from Italian meatballs. But like the guy that named... Our Swedish meatballs is kind of like hard. Here is the chant, by the way, the song. Little frogs, the little frogs are funny to observe. This is not seeming like the same. It must be. The little frogs, the little frogs are funny to observe.
Starting point is 00:38:39 No ears, no ears, no tails do they possess. No ears, no ears. No tails do they possess? It's not even the same song. So where did you get that tune from if it's not the same song? I was just doing my best. The tune didn't matter. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:38:58 I was like trying to keep up with these everyone else and everyone else was looking around to see. And the two Swedish men that were in attendance were looking at each other like, like getting it, but like there was no rhyme reason. Anyways, that was, that's my freaking sorry with no. I shouldn't have even told you guys that. I think there were some key pieces in there that stood out. I can't name them, but they're there. Okay.
Starting point is 00:39:21 For sure. Perfect. Yeah. And then a little treat for us, Brooke, went to the tattoo parlor yesterday and got a bunch of tattoos. Yeah, I did. We're going to show them in the bonus. We're going to do a tattoo. Oh, can I show them now?
Starting point is 00:39:35 Please, please. Yeah, show them now. Walk us through the tattoos. I'm, like, feeling like I went too hard too fast. No, no, no. This is how it has to happen. You think? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Because I am, I'm feeling, I'm feeling them, you know, with my two little ones that I had before. Well, they'll fade. Yeah. They hope, yeah, I want them to fade a little bit. But, okay, well, I'll basically walk you through what I got and why I got them. And I only knew that I wanted one before I went yesterday and I walked out with four. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:05 So this piece right here on the top of my arm is, um, is hodgepodge, who's my little stuffed animal, who I've slept with every night since I was little. So this is a portrait of Hodgepodge, and I love it. I could not say enough good things about this tattoo. That's a spot too. It looks exactly like him. He loves it.
Starting point is 00:40:28 Yeah, I love it. Cannot say enough good things. This one is completely random, and it's an apple juice because I love apple juice, and it kind of looks like the cover of Twilight. The book. Oh, the apple.
Starting point is 00:40:41 Yeah, the apple. You should, well, do that do this on your own. I was like, you should have taken a bite out of the apple. Doesn't there a bite out of the apple on that? I don't think so. I think that's the Apple logo featuring Steve Jobs. Featering Steve Jobs.
Starting point is 00:40:52 Yeah. Yeah. This is more so Twilight. Sorry. But it's not like weird because it's a juice box. You know? It looks good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:00 I like that. Okay, this one was completely random and this one's causing me the most stress right now. This is just a, I was drawn to this one because she's upset and crying. And it's just a little depressed heart, which I like. I wish I had gotten this one. somewhere else, maybe like on the inside of my arm, because this one is staring me down a lot. Well, you can't wish things like that upon a tet with your body
Starting point is 00:41:23 because it's too bad, too sad. But I do, I do really like it. There's something, I kind of think she looks like me a little bit. She does. Yeah. Yeah. And then this one is a moon. I love, Brooke, I've said it before, I'll say it again.
Starting point is 00:41:36 I love whatever kind of design it is when they put faces on, on, um, astronomical figures of the sun and it has a base on an northern moon. Well, this was a completely last minute idea, and I got this one for my sister because her Hebrew name means moon. So this I got in her honor because I thought she was going to die the other day because her kidneys also have been failing her. So she had a kidney stone.
Starting point is 00:42:01 She was in the hospital. So in case we never saw her again, I got this tattoo. But she's completely fine, as it turns out. Well, good. It's probably because she got the tattoo that she's fine. I agree. But anyway, those are my tats. Good job.
Starting point is 00:42:13 And yeah, that's really it. Well, it's funny you brought up the kidney stones again because I finally made, I've been walking everyone through my health journey. I made three appointments for this week on Zoc Doc. Very good. And it worked. It was so easy. Now, yesterday I had two of them. And I show up to my doctor.
Starting point is 00:42:35 I'm like, here I go. I'm going to go get my physical. I already had to hype myself up in the car because now an adult grown man has to touch both. my balls okay does that always have to happen for a physical I need him too because yeah I need him to right I was getting a cough ready so I could turn they touch them both at the same time or one at a time they feel around brook they're like I want to explain how it would be in terms of you not having balls try boobs we get breast exams yeah it's it's like that but imagine like miniature oh you got miniature breast exam?
Starting point is 00:43:13 Yeah, but like grabbing your balls like this and he's kind of feeling around and talking to you the whole I mean, same with breasts. Yeah. It's interesting.
Starting point is 00:43:25 Yeah. So I'm sitting there and I'm sitting there and I'm knocking and I'm knocking and it's like in this building with like a bunch of other offices and finally 20 minutes after my appointment
Starting point is 00:43:37 has already started a woman comes out and goes, hello, yes, hello. And I go, hey I have an appointment 20 minutes ago and she goes the doctor's not here today he's sick
Starting point is 00:43:47 your appointment was canceled and I go I mean no it wasn't she was and so I was like I left my doctor was sick now I'm not gonna go to him because I'm like I don't need
Starting point is 00:44:03 you know sick boy on my on my docket he's the doctor and he's sick that's like that's like your teacher getting word that they failed their SAT. I don't know why they would get it so late
Starting point is 00:44:19 to where they're already your teacher and it would affect you, but so that was a little bit disappointing. So then I'm like, now I've got to reschedule a doctor's moment. I'm traveling all next week. So now I've got to reschedule it for next week. So then I go to my physical therapist
Starting point is 00:44:32 from my back that's been buggy me. I show up to her office and I don't even want to call at that because it was an apartment building and I was going into room 19A. Right. And she has a home office, which is why she was so readily available to take me in as a client. After I blocked her number because I didn't know who was calling me so much.
Starting point is 00:44:55 Finally, I get an email saying, and I checked the number on the email that was trying to reschedule. It was her. She was trying to reschedule? Yeah, because she was like, you miss your appointment. Oh, the doctor before the back doctor? No, no, no, this is a different doctor. So you had two reschedule? Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:11 It is the most pain I've ever been in in my life. The reason why I don't trust anyone working on my back is because they all tell me something different every time I go in. And they're twisting me. I'm like, that hurts. I'm in here for you to fix that. Then she pulls out the spinal diagram
Starting point is 00:45:25 that they have in there. And it's like, this one is not your, this is vertebrae 14A, this is vertebrae. This is vertebrae. And I'm like, I don't care what vertebrae it is. Fix it. I'm not studying. for a test, fix my back, fix my back.
Starting point is 00:45:45 And she's like, well, you need to understand what. I don't care. Fix my back. So then she hurts me really bad. She hurts me so bad. And then she comes in at the end, after I've been there for 45 minutes, goes, oh, by the way, I don't take your insurance. Okay.
Starting point is 00:46:03 How much did that run you? It was $249 for the initial consultation. But luckily, she's going to throw me a bone, and it's only going to be $149 for the follow-up, which is today. And that's why I'm blocking her number again. And you're not going. No, I'm not going. I don't trust anybody.
Starting point is 00:46:20 I want to get my spine removed. That's how bad my back hurts. I don't trust any of these people. Oh my God, you'd be a noodle. Yeah, someone could just bring me in and, like, flop me over the chair. Yeah, over the meatballs, Swedish meatballs. Yeah. Or Italian meatballs for our Italian listeners.
Starting point is 00:46:34 Mm-hmm. Oh, anyways, like this has been, I've had the most pointless updates today. Sorry for just like absolutely sharding the bed up here. No. On stage this afternoon. Those have all been really valuable. It's just like one of those times. Also like I've, I had such a high last week where I was just like on top of the world.
Starting point is 00:46:55 And then yesterday it all came crashing down as it does. I was just like in a funk. That happens. Have you ever been so much in a funk that you actually convert a hater? Because you're like so. pressed by them that you need to keep responding. Someone de-empted me and was just like, you are so not funny.
Starting point is 00:47:18 Okay. And yesterday I go, I know, man, I'm like working on some new stuff and I'm just like not feeling it right now. And he goes, I mean, dude, it's not that bad. Like you do need to focus. Like you got to work on yourself. And I was like, thanks, man. He's like, totally, dude.
Starting point is 00:47:35 Keep up the good work. I was just like. Like, he felt so bad for me. That's good. That he was like, no, you're actually doing a pretty good job. That's sweet. So that was yesterday. I'm back on today.
Starting point is 00:47:53 I think I just needed some sunlight, a banana, and a cup of water. Good. There's nothing that that trificta. Triphicta. Triphica. Yeah. Fix. Um.
Starting point is 00:48:04 I have a lot of, like, movies and TV to talk about. Yeah. Wait. We have, we both have a lot of movies. TV. There is so much TV happening right now. So much TV. So why don't you kick off the TV seg?
Starting point is 00:48:18 Okay, I'll click off. I'll click off the TV. I'll click off your attitude. I'll make myself more comfortable by clicking off the TV. Okay. First things first, new season of Black Mirror. Black Mirror is my favorite show, which is interesting because I feel like you might not expect that.
Starting point is 00:48:35 But I love, I could not love anything more than Black Mirror. New season? Not great. Connor, I'll tell you that right now. Not great. The first three episodes, I think, are worth a watch. And the last two could be like some of the worst of all time. Oh.
Starting point is 00:48:53 But there's one that I really think you will like. And it's like kind of spooky. It's called Locke Henry and it's kind of spooky. And it's kind of like a little bit murder mystery. And the message is about like true crime and like what it does to society. Oh, Brooke. Yeah. I'm always saying that.
Starting point is 00:49:12 Which is what you are always saying. I'm always saying maybe this would be the one censorship opportunity I would take for like media. Like maybe I don't think we should be allowed to like become obsessed with true crime because I think
Starting point is 00:49:28 it's a catalyst for more true crime so that people can like feed off of this thing. Well I think you should watch this because it's I will. I will watch it. It shows like what it could do. This is what the obsess of a true crime could do. It's called Locke Henry
Starting point is 00:49:41 and it's the second episode of the sixth season. Cool. A young couple traveled to a sleepy Scottish town to start working on a genteel. Nature, genteel? Gentile. Gentile. Jean-Ton? Genton? I think it's French. Like, rooted in French. Okay. I don't think it's gentle. I think it's Jean-Til. This young couple is traveling in a sleepy Scottish town to Jean-Tal.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Yeah. A nature documentary. So they find themselves drawn to a juicy local story involving shocking events. Did it Thesaurus write this description? Probably. Oh, 7.4 out of 10, that's pretty good. That is pretty good because there's a lot of haters that need conversion out there. Very interesting. I love when they cast nobodies in this show.
Starting point is 00:50:27 Because that's the one thing about this show. Is it based in the UK? I don't know if they're nobodies because it is based in the UK. So they might be big English actors. I think it's refreshing that I don't know who they are. Yeah, I think that they are a lot of stuff that we just don't know. I need to see Asteroid City. I'm seeing it tonight.
Starting point is 00:50:42 I'm seeing Transformers tonight. Okay, very cool. But yeah, those first three episodes of Black Mirror were pretty good, worth watching. And if you've never watched Black Mirror, might I recommend my favorite episode of TV of all time, which is an episode of Black Mirror called Hang the DJ? And it's not scary. It's just simply the best episode of television to exist. Izzy says it's a good one.
Starting point is 00:51:07 So I trust, I trust Izzy with all my heart. So I think I don't think. There's anybody who could not like that one. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I also saw No Hard Feelings, the movie with Jennifer Lawrence. Yep.
Starting point is 00:51:22 Okay. Yes. Walk us through No Hard Feelings because I'm hearing some stuff. Best movie I've ever seen my life right up there with Marcel the show. I'm hearing it was hilarious. Yeah, it was so funny. Let's talk about Jennifer Lawrence for a second. Okay.
Starting point is 00:51:38 I'd love to. Hey, I'd love to. Let me, no, but let me hear, I mean, as much as you can give us about this movie, because I have to say initial thoughts when I'm getting the ads for this thing, yikes. No, God, no. No one else got this thing where this family is trading in a used car so that some adult woman will date their teenage son. That doesn't raise the facts. Well, that's the whole point.
Starting point is 00:52:01 Of course it raises. I know, but in my, you know, I'm like, and then I'm like, who is this kid? Oh, who's this kid? Let me tell you who that kid is. Can you pull up his name for a second? Andrew Barth Feldman is the most talented man. Andrew Feldman. He is so talented.
Starting point is 00:52:16 He was, which I didn't know until recently, in Dear Evan Hansen, as Evan Hansen, who's like incredibly, you know, anxious, awkward, and he plays that same kind of role. That's good to be typecast into that role. There's plenty of those. He plays, let's say, if Nathan Fielder and Evan Hansen co-parents at a child,
Starting point is 00:52:34 that's who he's playing. It is my favorite type of character. And he is so lovable, and you just fall in love. with him right away. Jennifer Lawrence is, it's her best, it's her best yet.
Starting point is 00:52:45 And it's so refreshing to see an actress that like is Oscar nominated and very serious movies turn to comedy. And she killed it. She's always been, I mean, she's not worked in comedy,
Starting point is 00:52:56 but like, she's always been funny. Yeah. That's why it's so cool. She doesn't come out. What do you mean she doesn't come out? She doesn't come out to things ever. And then all of a sudden for this movie,
Starting point is 00:53:05 she clearly has so much of, is she an EP or anything on this movie? Is she like an example? executive producer, because there's some part of her heart that's in this movie that like, as it should be, my heart's in it too. But not even like hunger games. You're not seeing her on hot ones for hunger games. You're not seeing her on Reese Feldman's TikToks for hunger games. You are just seeing, you're seeing her in everything for this. And it's kind of exciting. That's why I was like, either she owes someone a lot of money or she has a lot, she's put a lot of herself into this film.
Starting point is 00:53:37 And I think it's the latter. And you know what, Connor? There has, It hasn't been just like a sweet, good rom-com in so long. And I think this is the beginning of something new. I'm so excited to see this. I think they're bringing it back. And you are just like your, my heart was happy the whole movie. That's good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:56 It was really incredible and I think we're seeing big things for ABF. Full. Oh my God and don't even get me started on he gave a performance singing at a piano in this movie that is 3090 status. Don't give anything else away. I won't. Everyone make note of the piano scene. Get off your phone when it comes on.
Starting point is 00:54:18 It is. Like every hair on my body was standing up. That's super cool. Yeah. Whoa, I just had a full dissociation moment where I was like, where am I? I looked at you and the back of the screen and I was like, what am I doing? Do you know that's a sign of, I don't remember if it's a sign of depression or OCD? Great.
Starting point is 00:54:37 I think depression. Well, my doctor canceled. on me, so we'll never know. Great. Well, that's exciting. So good. That's really exciting. You're seeing Astrid City.
Starting point is 00:54:47 I'll see it before we come back next week. So we'll both have seen it. We can talk about that. There's a new season of Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which... Isn't it the last? I don't... I mean, they haven't said it's the last, but like, Rob, Michelinney, whatever. I can never say his last name.
Starting point is 00:55:02 And Ryan Reynolds have been doing so many side projects and they've been so busy. Uh-huh. that I don't see how Wait, that guy was in the Mindy Project Which guy? Maybe not. I don't think any of these men were in the... Well, that guy for sure was.
Starting point is 00:55:20 Who? You're pointing at like nine people. The main guy was definitely in the Mindy Project. They're all the main characters of this show. Okay, Rob. Rob. Rob was for sure in the Mindy Project. Mickelene.
Starting point is 00:55:30 Yes, Glenn Howerton might have also been in it now that I'm looking at it. Well, that makes sense because they're very close for it. Okay, I think they were both in the Mindy Project. One years. Who as was ever, you know, who else was in the Mindy Project? Chris Messina. Based on a true story was incredible.
Starting point is 00:55:44 I spoke about it a little bit when I went to the premiere and saw the first two episodes. The rest held up. Great. So good. I didn't like the first episode I have to say. You're lying. Now when it got to the last four minutes of the first episode, I was like, hmm.
Starting point is 00:55:56 Then the second episode, good. Oh, I don't know how you didn't like the first one. Well, I just told you. Well, I don't know how. And not it. Slow. Yeah. When it started getting good.
Starting point is 00:56:07 I'll take the turning point in the first episode of, no, what is it called? Based on a true story. Based on a true story is when they piece together. Don't spoil it. Oh, farts. When. And they piece it together.
Starting point is 00:56:21 And there's all these little things. Yeah, they're piecing. And that was funny. Yeah. And then the rest of all the episodes, it moved really fast. Well, that was at the very end of the first episode. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:56:30 Yeah. Now it made real fast. Until they started acting in congruency with each other. I thought it was a little slow. Always starting Philadelphia. If you've been interested, start on the new season. and then when you get a hold of the characters go back to the first season
Starting point is 00:56:42 because it's pretty raunchy the first season but I think they toned it down a lot I like it. It's better than the last one where I think that they were trying to end the show because they're gone to X forever. I think that they make so, it's so lucrative
Starting point is 00:56:56 because they have such a cult following they're actually doing live shows in New York in October, starting in October. With Danny DeVito? I don't know which of the cash I think it's like as it comes. How tall is Danny DeVito? If you guys are the same height, I think we might be.
Starting point is 00:57:10 I'm going to laugh out loud. On whose behalf? He's 4.10 and 3 quarters or just flat? I'm taller. That's awesome. Uh-huh. Oh, my gosh. That's really cool.
Starting point is 00:57:22 She's 410. Do you? Oh, okay. I was going to ask. He has something. Okay. Multiple F. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:57:31 100%. He has a rare genetic disorder that affects bone. Fairbanks disease. He's doing great, though. Can you Google Fairbanks disease? Just because I'm curious about... Where did an disorder? How would you...
Starting point is 00:57:47 Would you know? Okay. Interesting. I love him. I love Danny DeVito. Everybody loves Danny DeVito. What other TV shows and stuff? I feel like we...
Starting point is 00:57:59 We didn't steal my girl music video featuring One Direction. No, I think we had other TV. Oh. I thought you were wondering what else. He doesn't. Oh, I wanted to quickly talk about because obviously it's like in a... dating the internet the the idol sorry we talked about the idol
Starting point is 00:58:13 sorry sorry the idol by the way it just came out that it's ending after the fifth episode and it was confirmed to have shot six episodes and they're just they're just ending in which is like and like that's that's crazy can't get worse than that that's crazy because the marketing behind that was probably I mean they're they're definitely in the red for that show which isn't incredible for for the weekend like I'm pretty sure he fronted a decent amount of that money. And Sam Levinson definitely losing money on that. Or the weekend paid for a lot of it.
Starting point is 00:58:48 I don't know. I'm just guessing. But we have talked about the Barbie versus Oppenheimer. Oh, yeah. Just like it been a fascinating internet trend. I'm loving it. Because a lot of these people are like, I'm saying Barbie this time. I'm seeing Oppenheimer this.
Starting point is 00:59:01 I'm like, I didn't know those fan bases cross over at all. I have no interest in seeing Barbie because I don't really understand what it's about. Well, I'm excited just because everyone else is so excited. But there's no storyline around Barbie. I think it's cool. I think the marketing is incredible. Yeah. I don't understand how they have so much money.
Starting point is 00:59:21 Like, how can any one project have this much money? I think it's because it's Greta Gerwig and people are just like, here's all our money. Greta do with what you will. Now, why are people so excited for Oppenheimer? That's going to be, because I think it's like Christopher Nolan. Oh. So it's like Greta Gerwig versus Chris Nolan. Oh, I didn't know you guys were on a nickname basis.
Starting point is 00:59:41 Yeah, myself and Chris. Yeah. That is like a really good use of the meme that's like the two houses on PCH. Yeah. The pink one and the what's I'm hearing that it was you can't do this unintentionally. Like you have to actually, this had to have been discussed. This is like this is like two major artists dropping an album on the same day that have over. I don't know if it's discussed with movies.
Starting point is 01:00:07 I think it's like. two main acts at a festival playing at different stages so as to split the crowds. Oh. No, I don't agree because the crowds are still going to be at the movie theater. I guess it's not the same theater. They're selling out or else they'd have to have,
Starting point is 01:00:24 they'd have to have so many theaters playing Barbie versus, I don't know, I'm just guessing. You know who Oppenheimer is? Yeah, he built that bomb. Okay, yeah, he did. Isn't it the Hiroshima bomb? Yeah, the atomic bomb. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:40 Oh, wasn't it called Hiroshima bomb? Oh, I don't know. I think I don't think so. It dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. So scary. Yeah, and Chris Nolan is known for like no CGI or anything. And so there's all this. There's just discussion.
Starting point is 01:00:57 Did you watch Dunkirk? Was that his last movie? Was it his last movie? It doesn't matter. It was one of his last for sure. I've seen two more movies. He did Interstellar as well. Oh, really?
Starting point is 01:01:08 Yeah. He obviously did CGI for that one, if anyone's guessing. Anyways, there was one thing that they're doing right now. They're doing 500 marketing promos for this. And like every company's getting involved. They're doing commercials with like progressive and all this stuff. But they just. A Barbie house.
Starting point is 01:01:26 The Airbnb popped up in Malibu. Yeah. It didn't mysteriously pop up. Right. I don't think it did it either, Connor. It's a play for Airbnb. And guess what? It's not even like a contest to stay there.
Starting point is 01:01:38 You can rent it. Only two people. Max, I looked into it. Airbnb is trying so hard to not be air, like to shake everyone away from how horrible their business is. You hate Airbnb. I hate Airbnb. But I'm just, okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:55 Hey guys, I rented the Barbie house. And it's only going to be, can you imagine the cleaning fees? Just like imagine checking out and then being like, by the way, cleaning fees are $49 million. That's how they're probably going to. Yeah. They're probably going to cover the rest of the marketing cost for the Barbie movie just in the cleaning fees of the Barbie house for Airbnb. As of now, it's listed for $0. So maybe it's a contest.
Starting point is 01:02:21 Am I wrong or did they do this before? Did Airbnb do a Barbie house before? Was it like a total flop, flop city population Airbnb? Yeah. I think they also do the Twilight House on Airbnb, but I guess that's not promotional whatsoever. It's just simply where they filmed it. Yeah. Well, Airbnb can suck my cock as well as my...
Starting point is 01:02:42 I know. For those of you don't know, Connor was completely kicked off of the platform. Band from the platform and subsidiaries. Real quick, I think.
Starting point is 01:02:51 But also I just don't like it as a company. I'm back to hotels. Why would I ever... Why would I ever not... Who is opting out of someone making your bed and leaving a chocolate on your pillow?
Starting point is 01:03:00 Not me. Right. Not me. Ooh, the chocolate in Geneva is really good. I've heard that. The chocolates on my pillow are really good. Ooh. I just wanted to really quickly ask you
Starting point is 01:03:09 about your feet. What do you mean? Did you not? not wear shoes here. I did forget shoes when I got in the car. Do you know how many times growing up I would get almost to school? Do you know those stories about... I think just keeping your hand on your toes like that is worse than unleashing them, by the way.
Starting point is 01:03:27 I'm not going to unleash the dogs. By the way, don't zoom in on the flow cam. Yes, I should have orange shoes. You got me. Like, I don't have another... But there were so many times in high school, I'm sorry, not in high school. My parents would be driving me to like soccer practice or something
Starting point is 01:03:50 and I'd be like, oh my God, oh my God. They did not bring my shoes. I'd have to be like, Dad, we'd be almost there 30 minutes away. I didn't bring my shoes. You'd be like, what? I don't bring my shoes. I think it's an ADHD thing. Like, how do you walk out of the house without shoes?
Starting point is 01:04:13 I don't know. And get in your car and drive. to a different city without shoes. Do not know. That was me in the back of the car trying to tell my dad that I forgot my cleats. What if you had to like, didn't you get a Trader Joe's wrap on the way here?
Starting point is 01:04:30 No, I got it earlier on the way home. Okay. Because I have an exterminator at my house right now. I wasn't even able to go back and get shoes because he said I have to be out of the house for four hours. Okay. Got it.
