Starting point is 00:00:00 This episode is brought to you by Prime. Obsession is in session. And this summer, Prime originals have everything you want. Steamy romances, irresistible love stories, and the book-to-screen favorites you've already read twice. Off-campus, L, every year after, the love hypothesis, Sterling Point, and more. Slow burns, second chances, chemistry you can feel through the screen.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Your next obsession is waiting. Watch only on Prime. Anyway, Isabel said, fuck Mary Kill. And I guess you can do this one too, but I feel like it is a little bit more for me. Crypt finance slash crypto bros, film bros, and Jimbrose. Go ahead. So I think I'm going to marry a film bro because I just feel in terms of compatibility. He's smoking cigarettes every day on the balcony and he has a little ashtray out there.
Starting point is 00:00:56 I mean better than Jimbrough and fine. than finance, bro, for me personally. Oh, yeah. And he doesn't have to be smoking a cigarette. For sure, he does. No. And he wears turtlenex, like totally being totally normal. No, that is not what...
Starting point is 00:01:07 No, not turtlenex. More like flannel situation. And he has glasses that aren't even for reading. No, he doesn't. They're for reading. Brooke, you can't make your ideal person that just enjoys film. I can and I did. Hey, Kahn.
Starting point is 00:01:43 Hey. I was just telling you offline that... You're in pain. today? Well, sometimes you forget that being hungover comes in all different shapes and sizes. And sometimes being hung over can happen after one glass of wine at dinner. One and a half
Starting point is 00:02:00 glasses of wine. One to three glasses of wine at dinner. And sometimes I just, I forget that. And it's just what's happening to my body today is just a little bit of exhaustion. So I apologize in advance if I'm not 100%
Starting point is 00:02:16 my sharp, witty, amazing self. I'm sure I will be but you might just have to kind of bring it out of me. Okay. Due to the, due to the wine, but still coursing through my veins, apparently. Aye. Ooh. I'm, I'm mama.
Starting point is 00:02:31 I, caramba. I'm happy. Well, I don't know. Hang in there. I'm hanging. I'm hanging. I've got my coffee. I've got you.
Starting point is 00:02:39 What could be better? Why am I not hungover? I can't believe, like I feel like a loser. No, it's not even, you shouldn't feel like a loser. I had like two glasses. Yeah. So that's probably why. I still feel a little.

Starting point is 00:06:40 Subscribe now. Subscribe now. Now! Subscribe now! We're back. Wasn't that great? It's a lot of... There's a lot of dots rolling through my brain. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:00 It does make me when I told you I would join a cult in a heartbeat. In a heartbeat. And I'm sure I probably already have. I signed a... Something on the Santa Monica Pier the other day, and it's all in Chinese. But I really wanted one of the commemorative bookmarks, even though I don't read. and I got, I succeeded. But I don't know what I've signed up for or against.
Starting point is 00:07:25 And you don't need to know. I just hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the arse. But I've always said normalized being a follower, not a leader. We have too many leaders. Praise be. And so by that logic, I will be in a cult, like probably by the end of the week. Yeah. Just if someone out.
Starting point is 00:07:40 I mean, that's kind of like I love being a plus one somewhere. Yes. I don't want to be the person invited. Yes. So much less pressure. I'll do whatever you want me to do. Same page. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:50 You want me to steal something from this party? Sure. That's why I wore cargo pants. Uh-huh. Well, there you have it. PMG website. Oh, TMG website.
Starting point is 00:07:59 Sorry. That was that. You can go to TMG Studios. Dot TV right now if you so feel. And I encourage you to do so. You can sign up. Again, our tier is $2 a month,
Starting point is 00:08:11 ad free. And then eventually there's like a lot more to look forward to you. Yeah. We'll talk about that. I'm sure we'll circle back. Yeah. But exciting stuff.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Woo. Okay. I am just like really just dying me here about your weekend in Coachella because I wasn't I wasn't able to make it to Coachella. Right. Because I had that weekend with my family in Arizona. Which looked phenomenal. Yeah. I mean, if you if you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw like me being absolutely so obnoxious the whole time. I'm not like a tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, type type of Instagram story person. but there was just so much to be consumed and shared. And I'd never been to actual Coachella before. I've gone to like the after parties. I've gone to like the pre-stuff. But up until now, I haven't been invited as, you know what? I'm sorry. I bought my ticket.
Starting point is 00:09:06 I was not invited. So I've never been invited to go to one of these. But a lot of my friends did. So I was kind of like along for the ride. But then, I mean, we left Thursday. We had 10 wristbands on because this year, so obviously Coachella hasn't happened in two years. Let me just start with my experience,
Starting point is 00:09:25 and I'll explain the back stuff. I had fun. Awesome. I had fun. That is great news. I had a good time, but everything in between, even looking around, I was like, whoa, like, I'm almost embarrassed to be here.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Why? And, like, the scenes. It was most of the event was people, like, taking pictures of stuff. Like, I forgot we were even there to see music. Yeah, that's, I feel like that's what most events are nowadays. It's just like taking pictures to be like, here I was. Right.
Starting point is 00:09:59 I do fear that we have lost the bottle of it, but I have a solution. And we got a lot of emails about Coachella and everyone's hot take was that it looks like it sucks. It is fun to a lot of people. I had, again, I had a lot of fun jumping around in the crowd with my friends. Obviously, that's a blast. I had arguably more fun pre-gaming at the house by a pool and Palm Springs with all my same friends. But, like, festivals are fun.
Starting point is 00:10:30 And it's so interesting because I feel like. Yeah, tell me you're the. Well, I just feel like the wave, Coachella to me is like a very influencer populated event, right? Yeah. And I think to everyone. And, like, the wave of influencers before, like, the current wave, it made it seem like it was the best thing. in the world and like Coachella was like the event of the year to be at. And most of the people, like not you and not a few of our friends, but most of the people that I saw online this year
Starting point is 00:10:59 at Coachella were like, I am miserable. I hate it here. Which I'm like, what's what shifted? Is it the people or is it Coachella or is it? I think maybe just it's hard people like to complain more now. I don't know. I think there's this there's this wave of we're in like a very much there's about to be a shift, I believe. We, like you said, we have too many leaders, not enough followers. There are too many influencers. Influencer has, like, lost the meaning. I think because of TikTok, like, it's just more easy to become one now.
Starting point is 00:11:32 That being said, I think Coachella, like, obviously has not happened in a couple years. There's probably a lot of turnover at the actual company. And a lot of people are probably promoted to positions where they've never coordinated anything or, like, planned any of the event before. and I think it was it was reflective of a shit show like it was crazy I think they oversold on tickets is my understanding and like a lot of people couldn't get into certain places like if you're buying a VIP ticket you should you should go in right it was body to body pack right yeah everywhere so it was just crazy it was a little bit overwhelming my advice I wrote down a bunch of learnings okay are you able to share them yeah I think one of them is go with a small group and just don't don't
Starting point is 00:12:14 try to hang out. Don't try to see every single person that you know because you waste your time in between like trying to coordinate me. But that was like my big one. The other ones were like just go ahead and sneak alcohol in. Right. Even though like we paid so much money to go and like. Are the lines crazy? Lines are crazy. You don't want to leave the crowd. All that. Everything. You know, they don't really pat you down at security. We were not dealing with top brass or employee of the month at all at Edgate C3. Got it. But anyways, I think, here's my idea. Here's my takeaway.
Starting point is 00:12:51 I think given what I saw this weekend and given the state of affairs at hand, we need to start considering the fact that Coachella is not a music festival. I was just about to say no one's talking about the music. It's a convention. Uh-huh. Like these are all, if we're taking it seriously, like influencers are shaping this new creator. like it's a networking opportunity yeah this creator economy they're driving so much
Starting point is 00:13:18 so much money to this thing and to these brands they're marketers at the end of the day they are there's a there's a twist of like celebrityism there but like if you look at any other conventions if you look at like uh I don't know
Starting point is 00:13:33 CES or like ComplexCon those are brands paying to be in that space influencers and people in the industry show up they walk around they take pictures they experience brands, then there's music also. Uh-huh. Like my experience was that like,
Starting point is 00:13:48 and especially don't even get me started on Revolve. And I won't. But like that's what it is. Like we shit on it so much, but I feel like people's expectations were like, I need Vanessa Hudgens and her boyfriend or like all these people to just like show up
Starting point is 00:14:04 and set trends for the summer or something. When in reality, like we live in a new world. So, like, it's being shaped. It's so cringy. Like, it was almost like, I said convention. It was the loser convention for the most part. That's a strong statement. I said what I said.
Starting point is 00:14:22 I think, I don't know. I think it was like, it was a little bit hard to watch. But, like, and then be in it, it was like, whoa, like, what am I doing? So I posted a TikTok. You've thought a lot about this. Yeah, well, I was, I had so much time to think because most of it was just, like, sitting around, like, waiting for a show. You posted a TikTok. I posted a TikTok that said trying to figure out if I'm having.
Starting point is 00:14:40 fun, which apparently resonated with a lot of people. Yeah, I saw that did really well. Congrats. Thanks. But that was genuinely like, when people were like, how was it? Do you have fun? I was like, yeah, like I had fun. Uh-huh. But not in the areas that I paid to have fun. Right, right. Interesting. There was a lot of like the Revolve festival, which all these influencers went to. And that's not part of Coachella. Like, everyone I talked to, like, I talked to Rame Bader and she's like, I'm not going to, I'm not going to go into Coachella. Like, I'm just going to go to Revolve. They set up. I can't imagine how much money they spent. Do you have to have a ticket to Coachella to go to
Starting point is 00:15:12 Revolve test? So it's not associated. Nope. And I was I was listening to another podcast and they were like, like previously that was an invite only event. So like the Remy Baders would would get an invite to go because they're influencers in this in the fashion space. And then this year they were like if you buy a certain amount of clothes off of Revolve like we'll send you an invite to be put into a lottery to be drawn to buy a ticket to go. Oh, you can have the opportunity to purchase. Yeah. Yeah, and I guess revolves biggest, who just said this?
Starting point is 00:15:44 I just heard someone say this. Revolve's biggest, they don't drive sales as high during holiday season, which is Q4 of most companies drive the most sales during holiday season because of gifts. So in like December, like November, December, that's their highest sales period. This is revolves right now because of festival season. Got it. And then I saw someone emailed us also and said like, it sucks how many influencers were doing like the realistic. Uh, Coachella and like, it was rants and it was complaints and all this stuff. And they're like, I work a nine to five. Like, I like watching people have fun while I'm at, you know, at home. Like,
Starting point is 00:16:20 I couldn't make it out. It's really expensive. All this stuff. I like to see you having fun. And then all these like realistic, it sucked. Like I hate it. Like, look at how crabby this is. Like, wham, wah, wah. Yeah. You know? Poor you. Yeah. A lot of interesting thoughts about how Coachella was portrayed. You weren't handcuffed to a detain. You were handcuffed to a detain. country in the desert. Like you were invited to go get 10 bags of clothes from like an event. I did go to an event though.
Starting point is 00:16:47 I went to the Liquid Ivy House and like all of our friends were there. Cody and Kelsey came and Delaney. Matt and Patricia and Tristan, everybody came out and they had Jack Harlow, met Jack Harlow. You met him? Yeah, it was only, they capped the event. I was like, this is so cool. It was like at this house.
Starting point is 00:17:05 All of the pre and post events are out. You pass like a literal. cornfield and then you get to like a little plot of land with like a really nice house and a pool on it and a parking lot and then that's the pre-events that brands set up at and activate at um like in a chamberlain had like a pop-up after the festival one night it was really cool that those parts were really cool i will say just like as somebody who wasn't there just looking at everything on social media i was having this like unique psychological experience of knowing i'd be so miserable and needing to be there So I don't know what that says about me. Yeah. Just, it was like a fo-mo is like clinic. My fomo is clinical. I will say.
Starting point is 00:17:47 So like, but I knew I would hate it. You would have hated it. Yeah, I don't like crowds. Need to be in my bed by 9.30. PST. Need my ocean sounds. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:57 Like, don't like loud noises. Like, I know I'd be miserable, but I, like, I was like, oh, I have to be there. Right. I'm going to check my notes because I know that I had one more ground-breaking thought on this. But, like, there's right ways. to do it. It's okay to just admit. It was, it was star-studded, the people I was seeing and meeting that were sitting right next to us. Like I looked around at one point. We kind of like found a little area and we sat down and it was obviously like as you go to like more famous influencers than
Starting point is 00:18:26 like celebrities are friends with them. And so like people started sitting and I was looking at it. I was like oh like. And you made an ethically clout chasing post. Well, we actually, yeah, yeah. For reference, Connor, I don't know if you got, if it was the episode with Britney Brookesky where she coined the term ethical clout jacer in reference to our friend Con over here, which is just the way that Connor in the most ethical of senses is able to connect with these like high profile celebrities and kind of act like he's their best friend, take a picture and then walk away. So you were able to do that with. I was I was with him for like half an hour. Like we were talking before and then I was like chatting with him. KJ. Appa, sorry. Yeah. And then I, like, wait, what am I doing? And I was like, wait, what am I doing? I walked back. I was like, can we get a photo real quick?
Starting point is 00:19:11 And just like, because we just chat. We had waited in line together to get drinks. So, and he ended up being like a staple piece. He was everywhere we were. Like, we turn around. It was almost like, where's Waldo? Like, same. Actually, it kind of looked the same.
Starting point is 00:19:25 Where's Waldo? Where's K. Waldo doesn't look anything like KJ. If KJ. APA put on glasses and a striped shirt, he would be Waldo. KJ has bright red hair. Oh, or is that just in reverse? No, he does. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:38 But Waldo has bright red shirt. Right, I'm hearing you and also still not a shirt and hair, babe. They're similar. Okay. Oh, so we go see, like, oh, we randomly, like, snuck into artists, which I thought we were being allowed to go in because we had VIP passes. And I was spending each of these concerts that we went to see, Disclosure, Flume, Harry. How was Harry?
Starting point is 00:20:07 Harry was like phenomenal. Yeah. Pretty incredible. But we were, we would walk into the front of the stage and be like touching distance. Whoa. Like people could sweat on us. And I figured out like at the end that it was like, oh, no, that's artist only. So you're sneaking into a higher tier.
Starting point is 00:20:23 Like you can buy artists. It's so expensive. I think it's like 3,500 or 3,600 to buy an artist pass three days. And that means you can talk to Harry Styles? No, it means that you have different entrances. Like for smaller performers, you can go up on the stage and, you know, stand like horizontal to where they're performing. But we were like sneaking into that the whole time.
Starting point is 00:20:43 But Saturday night, it was like, we're kind of wrapping up. Who was Saturday night that played? Oh, Billy Elish played Saturday night. And Saturday night is also the night of this quote unquote, very exclusive after party. And this after party goes till the sun goes up, comes up. And it's on a plot of land. It's called Neon Carnival. Oh.
Starting point is 00:21:05 And this is what I used to come up to go to. and we wouldn't go to the festival and we'd just go, it starts at like 10.30 or 11 p.m. and goes till like 7 a.m. And they put a Ferris wheel and they have like all these carnival rides and like games and all this stuff. But like we go and we're getting ready to leave the festival. We're going to skip Billy and go to the thing.
Starting point is 00:21:24 So we know that it's going to take a lot of time to get there. Skipping Billy. I've seen Billy like twice. It's really good. Excuse me. Sorry. I didn't know that. And then I'm like walking into the VIP and I'm like, why are we bumping each other?
Starting point is 00:21:37 What world do we live in? We're all going to the same place. No one needs to bump me. Kind of like getting, standing up at the airport as soon as the plane touches the ground. We don't need. You can cut me. You can drive on the shoulder and cut me off and traveling. We're going to get there three seconds apart.
Starting point is 00:21:53 Like, I support your mission. I'm on the same mission. We're allies here. Pushing, pass, pushing, pass. And then I get in and I'm talking to, who is I talking? Oh, Little Huddy. And we're chatting. and someone comes up to me and goes,
Starting point is 00:22:12 Connor, we found your wallet. And I was like, oh my God. Oh my God. Well, like, that's great because I needed it. My little coin purse. And then they go, uh, but it's empty. And I was like, okay. So like my rose and thorn, my rose would be that they found my wallet.
Starting point is 00:22:27 My thorn would be that it was empty when it arrived. The bad news was I needed my ID to go to Neon Carnival. So I ended up paying like $100 to get home, $100 to get to the test. You didn't go to the test? I brought my passport. Oh, you knew. I knew that I was going to get pickpocketed. I could just feel it in my bones.
Starting point is 00:22:42 But when everyone was bumping me, I was being pickpocketed. Oh, okay. Because they also stole someone in our group's phone, like opened her backpack, stole the phone. There was apparently like thousands of phones stolen this one. Wow. Okay, sounds like a blast. I'd like to move on because I'm getting upset about not being there even after the pickpocketing story. So one thing I did need to discuss about Coachella was our good friend, Sally Dar, knit.
Starting point is 00:23:07 an outfit for each day. So she knit three tops. And it is really, I'm really lucky because she is my favorite influencer at this point, a combination of knitwear and comedy, what could be better. I don't know. And she's also one of my best friends.
Starting point is 00:23:21 So I'm feeling so lucky to just be in her presence all the time. First outfit was, well, one of them was Emma approved in reference to Emma Chamberlain, just being a fashion icon and her approval. Right. In this, like, how insane is that? It's pretty crazy. And this, I mean, all of her stuff got, like, a lot of trash.
Starting point is 00:23:40 And she also killed it with, like, she must have had an itinerary. Because I know that she was doing a brand deal. And then she also had Instagram and TikToks coming out at every moment of the day. She was just like, she on it. Killed Coachella. Like, she was the one that I was, like, checking in with to be like, what Sally did are up to. Yeah. I'm just so amazed.
Starting point is 00:23:58 I'm just so amazed. And then it took one day for her to knit them all. She was knitting them at the festival. This is my favorite. J.C.'s assless chaps. James Charles. James commented on it and shared it to his story in reference to James' outfit last year of his assless chaps. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:13 And that was a viral. And I love Sally Dar didn't have room for James Charles, so she had to put J.C. So this could also be Jesus Christ's assless chaps. Oh, that's a good point. It was Easter weekend. Yeah. Yeah. So there was a lot of, oh, and I love this one.
Starting point is 00:24:27 Her relevant one? Because she's relevant, and that's what matters at the end of the day. She's the most relevant person in my life. Yeah. And I could not stop talking about her all weekend when I was with my family. family and every my whole family thinks I have a crush on her which I do because she is just I just like can't say enough good things about Sally Dar in general also what she did at Coachella was incredible and I love you to death Sally Dar you are the love of my life but she stole the show for me personally yeah no like she's been me at my chamberlain in my eyes yeah yeah love her uh speaking of Emma Chamberlain oh sorry she went she's so I mean yeah fucking cool she is so cool um but you know even cooler huh if she knit her out You don't know that she didn't.
Starting point is 00:25:09 And then Harry Styles came out. Oh, Harry Styles was, I mean, you know my opinion on Harry Styles. I think that we would be friends. Like, the music was good. Like, he puts on a good show. Like, it's, it's Beatles-esque for me. And I never thought the Beatles are very good. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:30 Like, okay. The Beatles are like the best band in the whole world. Like, this goes to something that I would like to speak about. We got in female. Hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on. Hang on, hang on. Let's circle back on that. I want to wrap this up.
Starting point is 00:25:42 Okay. Harry Styles, great show, brought out Shania Twain, which was fucking, she was so good. Like, she should have headlined. But that was really cool to see. And she, like, touched him in a way. I don't know. We'll have to find that clip if you're watching on YouTube. I'm going to put it in there.
Starting point is 00:26:02 She touched him in a way that was so sexual. Yeah, that's their kind of vibe. Yeah, but. Um, his now fiance that you don't want to talk about. They're not engaged. Uh, it was, it was mentioned online that Harry Styles was in fact engaged by a very reliable source. There's no reliable source that we've seen that said it.
Starting point is 00:26:20 So until there's a reliable source, I will not be speaking about the subject matter. Okay. Because there's no reliable source. No point in spreading false information. I would never do that. I will. They're engaged. Uh, it's like basically 99% confirmed.
Starting point is 00:26:35 Olivia Wild. Harry Styles is so wild. So, so Olivia Wilde this whole situation. Anyways, he was really good. It was really fun to watch. We were with our whole friend group and then we went off to the nylon after party, like halfway through his set right after Shania. Can I talk about the thing I was going to talk about?
Starting point is 00:26:58 Yeah, sure, please. We got an email that was a hot take that if we could pull that up, the basic one. Oh, and the hot take was being basic is fun. and this is from Jamie. Being basic is fun. I don't understand why people are afraid to admit that they like things that are basic because when something is basic,
Starting point is 00:27:15 it just means that a lot of people like it. And I'm feeling that way about what you said about Harry Seiles about like, and the Beatles. Just like... I don't dislike them because they're basically... I don't like the music. I feel like there's a lot of people,
Starting point is 00:27:27 not talking about you specifically, that don't like those kinds of things just because they get a lot of hype. I like Ed Shearin. I love Ed Shearin, and that's what I wanted to discuss as well. Cool. I like Ed Shearin.
Starting point is 00:27:38 I told you, Shape of I'm in love Shape of you was my favorite song for like over a year. Yeah, I just think
Starting point is 00:27:46 there's a big phenomenon and I'm not targeting you specifically. I never would. You're staring at me. Well, okay, I'll look over here. Look over there. Okay, I'll look over there.
Starting point is 00:27:53 I think there's a big phenomenon in general of things that just like are very popular that people don't like because they're popular. Ed Shearing is one. Again, not targeting you. You love Ed Shearing your favorite song
Starting point is 00:28:03 of shape of you like you've said. Yeah, yeah. Not even targeting you. I don't dislike these people. I don't dislike Harry Styles. I'll sing every word to... John Green is another person I love who people just, like, make fun of now
Starting point is 00:28:15 because everyone loved John Green, and then once he started getting a lot of likes and a lot of buzz, people started making fun of him. Who's John Green? You know John Green, Hank Green's brother who wrote The Fallen Our Stars. I don't... I guess you're speaking of the wrong...
Starting point is 00:28:26 I'm not... I guess you're barking up the wrong tree over here, because I don't have... I'm not yelling at you. I'm just referencing this hot take because something you said reminded me of it. Sure, I think there's a lot of people that's where the hipster...
Starting point is 00:28:38 Hipsters started. They were like, oh, I'm just saying, Jamie, I agree with your hot take. Something you said reminded me of the hot take. I'm not fighting with you at all. Well, I think that's why people think Coachella's fun is because it's fun to get dressed up, all funny and goofy and wear a bunch of jewelry and be. Yeah. Anyway, Jamie, I agree with you. That's what I was.
Starting point is 00:28:59 Do you think that was planned? No. I don't think that was planned. I'm scared for him. I know that his fiance is in the crowd. I'm gonna fucking kill you dude. Well, there's, the thing with Harry is there's tier one, which I've explained before is when your celebrity crush is so strong
Starting point is 00:29:16 that you just like can't consume enough content and the thought of not being with them is like so crippling. Sure. But then there's tier 0.5, which is above tier one, where you actually can't watch anything because it's too painful. So I was at a tier point five with Harry at one point in my life and I don't watch anything Harry Siles related. I don't watch that.
Starting point is 00:29:36 I'm not listening to the new songs that were leaked. I'm not watching. any Coachella content because it's just too painful and I don't want to go back into that. So I love Harry and I'll listen to his album when it comes out. But I'm not going out of my way to look at leaked content or look at Coachella stuff because I don't want to get back into that place. So that's Tier 0.5 for you. I have had an I twitch for like a week and it went away for a day.
Starting point is 00:29:59 And then when you're explaining Tier. Point five, it started again. It probably, yeah. Sorry. Can you see it? You're getting frustrated with me today. No. Oh, happy 420.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Happy 420. Damn. Are you observing? Yeah, I took an edible before this. Did you actually? No, you didn't. I swear you're lying. No, I did.
Starting point is 00:30:21 Did you really? Yeah. Okay. I didn't. I took a gummy. I'm sorry, not an edible. What's the difference? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:30:31 I eat it. I think a gummy is an edible versus gummy that people are like. Oh, no, I think a gummy isn't edible. I, you know, I love my gummies. Yeah. deeply with all my heart, but I had a horrible experience a few weeks ago. I had my first greening out experience. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:49 Which was really, really, like, worse than any, like, worse than any, like, drunk blackout that you can imagine. Because when you're drunk and you're blacked out, it's like you're not really aware of, like, how sick you are. But when you're greening out, you're so hyper-focused on. Greening out is black, like, you do not remember. No, I do. Well, I'll tell you what happened, basically.
Starting point is 00:31:09 So I love taking my little gummies. They're called Bliss Gummies, and they're just like tiny little five milligram things. And they put you in like the most amazing headspace. And you take those too, right? Yeah. We take the same ones. And they're just like lovely and whatever. And one of those is five milligrams.
Starting point is 00:31:23 But I ran out. So our friend Patricia had these like ones she had gotten for free at this weed party. And they were called the Green Hornet. Very different from Bliss right off to that. Okay. Bliss versus Green Hornet. You know, different kind of vibe there. And Green Hornet.
Starting point is 00:31:39 with two blisses. So it was 10 milligrams, and I'm a lightweight when it comes to wheat. So five kind of puts me on my ass. So Green Hornet was 10 milligrams and like a blend of two different types of weed, whereas Bliss was just one. So I was like, okay, I'll take a full Green Hornet, which is two Blisses. One Bliss already knocks me on my ass, and this was a blend of different kinds of weed. Took a full Green Hornet, was watching a movie.
Starting point is 00:32:04 I was watching that movie old, which is when these people go to the beach and they rapidly age on the beach. And so there was a scene in the movie where this woman or this man had to reach into this woman's stomach and like pull out a tumor with his bare hands like into her bloody body. And I on the green hornet felt that happening to my own body. Oh God. And so I was faced with something's happening to my body. I'm either going to faint, throw up or shit my pants. And the human body is so amazing and cable of so many things because I was able to do all three at once. Wow.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Yeah. Yeah. For like 45 minutes while everyone's watching this movie. I'm in the bathroom alone having the most come to Jesus moment of my life sick as a dog. Yeah. And I couldn't even tell anyone like what was happening to me because I couldn't even like pick up my phone to be like I'm someone taking me to the hospital. And then it. And that was when our friend Kat was visiting and so she had to drive me home.
Starting point is 00:33:03 Yeah. But that was like the worst experience of my life. Yeah. Truly and I haven't really understandably wanted to To take a gummy and indulge again But I think it's 420 I think I will again celebrate Just not with the Green Hornet No yeah I think anything with like a Hornet
Starting point is 00:33:21 Yeah just kind of should I mean that's that's a warning label I just love the jumps to position of like my little sweet little bliss and green hornet You know it's so funny like I was I was gonna ask you today have you had any experiences But you really haven't smoked until recently right or like indulged well no actually my first smoking incident is Matthew Greg Goebler related if you can believe it. I can.
Starting point is 00:33:43 Yeah. In college, I'm surprised it's not Logan related. No, it's not. But in college, my roommate smoked a lot and I was like, oh my God, weed. Like, she is so crazy. Because to me, like, there was no difference between, like, weed and heroin, like, growing up.
Starting point is 00:33:57 Like, same thing, like, hard drugs. And so I was like, okay, like, I guess I'll try it. And this was freshman year of college. And she had this device. It was called the volcano. Yeah. And basically this bag would fill up with like weed smoke. And she would like hit the bag.
Starting point is 00:34:13 You know? And so I was like, okay, I'll hit the bag. Oh, geez. But I was hitting it. But like, I don't, I didn't really know how to breathe in. So I would do it and be like, wow, I'm stoned off my ass. No weed is entering my body at all. And I was doing that for a week.
Starting point is 00:34:26 And then she was like, wait, you're not doing it right. And this whole week I thought I was a stoner. And then she was like, you really need to breathe in. And I was like, oh, okay. So I took a big. hit of the volcano. That'll do it. Immediate thought I was poisoned.
Starting point is 00:34:39 I was like, please let me call 911 one. Like, that was laced with fentanyl, your volcano. And then they were like, no. And so I had locked myself in the bathroom and was trying to make myself throw up. And then my roommate who was, my other roommate who was also high and like not understanding what was happening was banging on the door. And she was like, please just tell me what's wrong. Is it because of Matthew?
Starting point is 00:34:59 Is it because of Matthew? Because at this place in my life, I was so obsessed with Matthew that it was all consuming tier one. And she was thinking that I was so upset in the bathroom trying to make myself throw up because it was distraught over Matthew. But the reality of the situation was I thought I was poisoned with fentanyl. So then I never smoked again until you were like, let's do gummies. And then I became a stoner.
Starting point is 00:35:19 Three sheets of the wind. Yeah. I have my history. My roommate also had a volcano. And I had this 8 a.m. class for a semester. And it was intro to creativity in the advertising class. And I was like, this is so interesting. insanely stupid that I'm going at A.m.
Starting point is 00:35:36 To learn how to use my creative side of my brain. So I would like smoke or like inhale. I don't know what you call it. Vap. Because it was a vapor. A vapor. Oh. You know, slap the bag of weed smoke.
Starting point is 00:35:48 Uh-huh. So anyways, I, uh, I would smoke. I had one day where I went to class. And we had notebooks and we would kind of like, and I was using one of my like colored pens. And I was like, what the fuck?
Starting point is 00:36:02 Like, I thought I discovered a new color because it had mixed together. I left class to show my room, walked all the way home, and I was like, guys, like, I thought it was like a new color. I don't know what my brain was doing, but like thinking I discovered a new color, are you needing to leave? That's my experience, like stupid stuff like that. And then there was another time when I, like, personified our remote in our house,
Starting point is 00:36:29 like for the TV, and I was like, it's, like, mad at me. Wow. Yeah. Cool stuff. Yeah, but I used to, in high school, like when I first tried swimming weed, like, I would green out, like, hit it, remember 10 minutes and then be awake and walking around and, like, hanging out with my friends and I don't remember doing any of that. Oh, see, I've never, like, not remembered anything.
Starting point is 00:36:48 For me, the green out was just like, I'm so, so sick. And it was so, so bad. And I remember every single moment of my sickness. Yeah. And I'll never forget it. 420. I love for. But I'll be observing tonight.
Starting point is 00:37:01 in my own way privately. Yeah. And within the safety of your home. And the safety of my own home. I was gonna, I'm gonna make a TikTok about this, I think. But like, 420's always been special to me.
Starting point is 00:37:12 Because when I was in like seventh grade, I like went to school and my eyes were so red, like kind of swollen. And I finally like got to sit at the popular kid's table because they had thought I was stoned. And you were just exhausted? No, I was having an. allergy attack. Oh. It's just a hey Fiva. Did you really take an edible before this podcast? I did. Okay. Wow. I'm kind of feeling that now. Okay. Yeah. That's awesome. Good for you. We should do a high episode. Well, here's here's where we're both on the same page. Yeah, I'm down. Um, I want to talk about
Starting point is 00:37:48 really badly. Speaking of high episode, Sean Mendois posted yesterday. The most bizarre notes article on his, on his, uh, on his Twitter. Okay. And I'm going to read it very quickly. And by the way, I just want to say last night when I was reading this with a group of people, everyone's like, oh, he's like coming out. Yes. Not to make any questions. Well, you would think notes app is always something pretty serious. Well, no, when I start reading, sometimes I ask myself what it is I should be doing with my life and what I always hear in return is to tell the truth to be the truth. I feel like that's a hard thing to do, though.
Starting point is 00:38:23 I'm afraid that if people know and see the truth, they might think less of me. They might become bored of me. So in those moments of feeling low, I either put on a show or hide. The truth in current form is a 23-year-old who constantly feels like he's either flying or drowning. Maybe that's just what it is to be in your 20s. I don't know. Or maybe that's just me. The truth is I really want to show up in the world as my 100% true, honest, unique self.
Starting point is 00:38:47 I do not care what anyone thinks. Sometimes I do. Sometimes I really don't care what people think and I feel free. Most of the time it's a struggle, though. That's the truth. the truth is even though is even with so much success I still find it hard to feel like I'm not failing
Starting point is 00:39:02 hyper focus on what I don't have forgetting to see all that I do the truth is I'm overwhelmed and overstimulated LOL the truth is also that I'm okay I'm just trying to tell and be the truth I like to think maybe me saying this might resonate with some people
Starting point is 00:39:18 yeah thank you Sean that did resonate thank you so much Yeah Fully thought he was coming out But really what he just wanted to let us know Is sometimes he gets overwhelmed And that's okay Yes
Starting point is 00:39:32 So thank you for the notes app This really reminded me I have said this entire notes page To someone at 2 a.m. That I've cornered Because I've had like 10 drinks And I'm like
Starting point is 00:39:45 No no no no no no no No no Sometimes I'm just like The truth And like I am the truth I want to be the truth I want to tell the truth.
Starting point is 00:39:53 Yeah. Yeah. And someone is doing exactly that. Right. Like that's crazy. Right. Thank you. Crazy.
Starting point is 00:39:59 Yeah. But this really reminded me of, and I'm going to share this story with you, if that's okay. I went to like a very teeny Quaker school in Pennsylvania. And Quakerism is a religion. And it's like, isn't that like Amish? No. No, it's not. But after 14 years of going there, it's still kind of hard for.
Starting point is 00:40:22 me to understand exactly what it is, but my understanding, it's just a religion based off of like peace and simplicity and whatever. So one of the things about going to a Quaker school is every Wednesday, once a week, we would sit in silence for an hour. And if someone was moved to speak, they could stand up and speak. So there was a lot of interesting things that came out. It was called meeting for worship. And mostly once we got to high school, everybody would stand up and come out. Come out as gay. Oh, wow. Yeah. So like kind of once somebody started standing up that you kind of had questions about, you would know exactly where it was going, usually. And everyone
Starting point is 00:41:02 looked forward to meeting for worships because it was like always like a big event in high school. And so one day, one of the teachers stood up, Mr. C will call him. And he was married with a wife and kids. And he stood up and he in the vein of Sean started going off like, I have been keeping something inside for years and it has been building and everyone is like on the edge of their seats grabbing everyone because like his kids were at the school too yeah and everyone's like oh my god mr. C's coming out and he's like this has been so hard for me to say and I am so nervous and so humbled to be sharing this with you all today please call me Mike so he can't he was able to come out as Mike as Mike or in Spanish he went on or Miguel or if you
Starting point is 00:41:50 take French class, call me Michelle. And then, and then sat, and everyone was just like, I bet he got halfway there and he's like, oh, fuck, no, I can't do this right now. I am. I am Miguel. And so that is, that is, that was, Sean's post was giving me major Mr. C vibes. Like getting halfway there and being like, wait, no, wait, actually. But I, the thing about Mr. C is like, I, that was his intention was to come out as, as, as, as, Mr. C. And he knew what he was doing.
Starting point is 00:42:24 He knew exactly what he was doing. That's wild. Your Quaker school must have so many stories. If those walls could talk. I know. One of my best friends came out. That's how she came out. Was that a meaning for worship? Wow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:37 That's crazy. Yeah. It was an interesting speech. But you kind of, and there were sometimes a meaning for, oh, one time in meaningful worship. Can you be Jewish in a Quaker school? Most of us were. Which is really interesting. I guess I'm just missing. I also am missing the plot there as well.
Starting point is 00:42:51 An explanation at some point? I don't. It's, I think it's just like a not very religious religion. Like the way that they worship Quakers is by sitting in silence for an hour. That's a cult, I fear. Well, every religion is a cult when you look at it. Sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:06 So it was just like one of, like, Quaker schools are very big in Pennsylvania. Yeah. And so like the private schools in the area were either like very rigorous college prep or Quaker schools. So it just happened that a lot of Jews ended up there. But. Um, one of the times at Meaning for Worship, one guy in my grade stood up and professed his love for our English teacher, which was so scary. And he wasn't wearing shoes. So it was just like a very alarming. Yeah. And she had to just sit there in silence for the rest of Meaningful worship, knowing that he professed her love. And then we all went to class after that. Maybe we should do one episode that's just Meeting for worship. Meeting for, yeah. Meeting for, yeah. Meeting for worship? Oh, I thought it was meaningful. No, it's meeting for worship. Wow. And we started meeting for worship. worship in preschool where all the kids were standing up and saying that their pet fishes died. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Speaking of Judaism, how does that work with Easter? Oh yeah. You were asking me why I was celebrating Easter in a different way. That's called Passover, which is actually a completely different holiday than Easter. I'm not sure. What about Jesus rising out of his tomb and such? Right. It has actually nothing to do with Jesus because Jews believe, Jews believe, Jews,
Starting point is 00:44:21 believe in Jesus for sure 100% Yeah. But I just don't think that we believe like he's whatever he is. Like God's son or whatever. I know we might even believe that. I'm actually not sure. I'm not an expert on Judaism at all. But we just like he's not our like. So what do you do for
Starting point is 00:44:37 Passover? For Passover? Passover is the celebration. And I'm sorry, what is passing over? Okay. Is there a star? I forget. No. Or a bird? Basically what Passover is is the celebration of the Jews being freed. Passing from Egypt. I think so. That was when we were in the desert for years and years because we were leaving Egypt and being freed from Egypt because we were slaves in Egypt. Right. So the Seder, which is the meal that you have during Passover, is representative of all the struggles that we went through. Do you just have one Seder? Two. There's. How long have you been, how long has Passover been going? How long was it 10 days? I'm feeling a little confused right now. I'm also lost. I think it's, do your best and I'm just going to believe that from now on. I think, I think, I, I think, I, I think, I. I, I think, I. I. I.
Starting point is 00:45:21 I think it's eight days, but then that's throwing me off because Hanukkah's eight days. So I don't know. I'm thinking it's 10. Can anyone Google how long Passover is? I think it's eight days. I think it took it. I know there's two sater. Moses covered some serious.
Starting point is 00:45:37 Eight days. It's eight days. Nice. And the reason we have matza, Connor, are you familiar with Mata? I am. Here's my confusion with Mata. Okay. You have Mata because you can't eat bread or gluten, right?
Starting point is 00:45:47 No. Not at all. Oh, hell no gluten. No. It's not a gluten issue. Mata has a gluten issue. has gluten in it. The reason that we have matza is because when we
Starting point is 00:45:55 were running from Egypt in the desert, we didn't have time there was no time for the bread to rise. So you got the fuck out of there. We were trying and get the fuck out of there. Exactly. That's what the Torah says. Get the fuck out of Egypt. And then we didn't have time for the bread to rise completely. So
Starting point is 00:46:13 did you take the dough? Yes. I love eating dough before you put it in the oven. Oh, I don't know if I've ever done that. You should try it. I'll get some dough. But that is why we have... It's really fascinating the whole thing. And so we can't really eat anything that's risen. Do you guys believe that the Moses parted the city?
Starting point is 00:46:31 Oh, wow. 100%. There's a little bit of crossover and Passover. I think that it's really the same book and such. Sure. It's just a matter of who you're worshipping. When it comes down to it, I think the Torah is the Bible, too. The first five books.
Starting point is 00:46:48 I couldn't tell you. Do you want me to explain a little bit about Christianity? Christianity at Easter. Yeah, tell me about. There's a bunny. He comes and he shits out a bunch of eggs. We pick him up and eat some chocolate and then we all go home. I love religion.
Starting point is 00:46:58 No, Jesus rose on the third day, according to Le Biblé. And because he was crucified on Good Friday. And did you know he was Jewish? I did know that Jesus was a Jew. Here's my thing with Good Friday. Okay. No, it wasn't. They killed him.
Starting point is 00:47:18 That's not a good, I mean. What is Good Friday, supposed? supposed to be celebrating, be him being killed? Him dying for the sins. Or sins. So I guess it's good in the sense that that was a big thing of him to do. That's huge. Like, I'll take a bullet for you.
Starting point is 00:47:34 That's like. I guess put your money where your mouth is. He did that. Right. That's something I would only do for my dog. So for him to be doing that for a big group of people. Like a larger group of strangers. Really.
Starting point is 00:47:45 I can see how that's good. I can see how that's good. That's good for us, I guess. Yes. I mean, it was really sad. for a lot of people. Yeah. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:47:52 I'm sure. I'm sure. But the good news is he's risen. He's risen indeed. That's my understanding of Easter. You're correct. Yes. He is risen indeed.
Starting point is 00:48:00 Yes. So that's amazing news. Huge for us. I don't know what it means for you. I don't either. And that's what life is. I'm kind of figuring out what that means to. The crossover and passover.
Starting point is 00:48:12 Yeah. So that was a great discussion on religion. How many days do you have left? Are you being like good at all of not the eating of the stuff? No, I don't do it. You had wine last night. Right. You can have wine.
Starting point is 00:48:25 You can have wine on Passover. It didn't rise. Yeah. You didn't need to wait for the wine to rise. No. You can have that. You just can't have like bread and even like corn syrup. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:48:36 People don't eat things with corn syrup in it. Did corn? I don't know about corn rising. No, I think it's the wheat. I think it's. Oh, maybe, Connor. I think it's wheat. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:44 But there's just like a lot of like things are kosher for Passover. Meaning there's no weed. Oh, coach vibes only. for Passover. It's different than just Koch. Oh. I know. I know.
Starting point is 00:48:57 I know. There's a lot happening there. The meeting of the minds over here. Yes. Yes. There's a lot happening. But anyway, anyway, I don't know how many days do you have left. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:49:07 Because I'm not really like observing in the sense that I should be. But I had a satyr in Arizona with my family, which is why I wasn't at Coachella. Oh. Yeah. Oh, very cool. Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:19 So we had a little outdoor. Seder with the rattlesnakes. Sure. And I'm not understanding, and maybe you can speak to this about, because you were in the desert for Coachella, my dad moved to Arizona. So he's still living in Philly, but bought this Arizona house and is going to live there full time eventually. But I don't understand why anybody would willingly move to the desert, especially after
Starting point is 00:49:39 we as Jews spent so long trying to get out of it. I don't know why anyone would want that because you have to close the doors tightly behind you in this house should the rattlesnakes come into your home. I can't speak to that. Imagine living like that every day. I mean, Texas, we have rattlesnakes and we get scorpions in our house all the time. Really?
Starting point is 00:50:00 There's snakes all the time. I remember walking in the garage as a kid and like I would be scared because there was always animals in our garage. One time I shined, I had my phone with me. I was like walking in after like a party or something in high school and I like turned and we have these cubbies before we go in that we used to put like hockey sticks, tennis rackets,
Starting point is 00:50:18 all this stuff in these cubbies and I turn and there's 10 sets of eyes. Like glowing at my phone. Who! Imagine my surprise. I turned on the light. Well, I ran of so far. And I turned on the light. And there's a raccoon mom with like seven babies.
Starting point is 00:50:37 Oh. Well, the eyes. No, you can't see snake eyes. Oh. But like we would get snakes all the time just like in the garage because it's so hot that they come in to cool off. Do you think if you were bit by a rattlesnake? I would survive. You would survive?
Starting point is 00:50:51 I was going to, you think you'd survive? 100%. Okay. Yeah, I've seen holes so many times. Yeah. And they survived. Right. The bite of the...
Starting point is 00:51:00 Right. It's just so crazy. What were those lizards just called? Oh, I'm not familiar with them off the top of my head. Hang on. I'm going to keep talking. I'm going to look up the lizards. Okay.
Starting point is 00:51:08 Well, I mean, there was a whole protocol there that my dad was telling me about if you get bitten, they have the anti-venom available for you, and that's just like a... You just suck it out via your mouth hole. Your mouth hole. But that is just so... Oh, look. Connor, yellow spotted lizards. Yellow spotted, is that what they were?
Starting point is 00:51:26 420 is a good time to watch holes. If I do say so myself. Yeah. Yellow spotted lizards. Ooh, they don't actually exist. That's good. Oh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:51:38 It felt like holes this weekend in Coachella. It was so windy and dusty. It felt like that. You know how you look around and you see all those pictures of people with their like headscarf tied around their mouth? And you're like, shut up. Yeah. If I didn't have that around my face, I would be, I was dying.
Starting point is 00:51:51 Like my eyes were crusted shut every morning from dirt. You just go like this and it's all dirt. My nose, I blow my nose is black from dirt. Yeah. I was in the, I was so hot that I was just in the pool and I knit this sweater vest. That's really nice. Thank you. That might be my top.
Starting point is 00:52:08 That might be my number one. Thank you. It's a little like, there's a lot of fuzz happening situation because I've been wearing it for five days straight. But I knit it. I knit it in the pool this weekend. That's nice. Yeah. But I don't think.
Starting point is 00:52:21 think I'm burning out in terms of knitting a sweater vest every week. I don't think I'll have one for you next week. No one's going to hold you too. Yeah, I know. I know. I know. And speaking of clothes, I like your hat. Oh, this old thing? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:34 I kind of threw it together last minute. Yeah, my hat. My merch is, by the time this goes live, my merch will be live. That is really cool, Connor. I'm really excited. I'm really excited. I'm really excited. It only 17 months. 17 months.
Starting point is 00:52:48 Well, I personally can't wait to wear no vibe checks on Saturday. hat with my sweater vest. Yeah. And I can say all of our friends have one of your hats. Yeah, I keep, I keep getting them made and then I people grab them at like festivals. But if anyone's interested in the hats and I've posted a couple, we have shirts and hoodies coming out too. Um, that is on fibs.fibs. Fibs.coe on Instagram. Um, I'll, I posted it 40 times on my Instagram story this weekend, fibs.com on Instagram and I'll do a TikTok about it too. Awesome. I'm really stoked on that. I'm still for you. I really want to just quickly mention the fact.
Starting point is 00:53:25 Do you know what's going on with Elon Musk? No. Like offering to buy Twitter? Did we put that in here? I don't even know if we were going to talk about that. But just to have it on record that I'm keeping up with this story. Okay. Elon Musk offered to buy Twitter for $43 billion.
Starting point is 00:53:41 B, billion. B for Brooke? B for Brooke, billion. And it's like up in the air right now. but that could really change like the makeup of just the current state of affairs in the world today. Why the world? He wants to privatize it for the usage of free speech. So it'll be a private company because he believes that Twitter is unable to do that because they rely too heavily on ads, like ad revenue.
Starting point is 00:54:12 So if it's a more curated space, obviously more brands want to come in and be represented on the platform as long as no one. like people that have been banned from the platform before are on it, creating an unsafe space. And so he's willing to put up the money up front and get investors so that they don't need to depend on brands coming in. They can let people say whatever they want, which makes me think he's going to invite Donald Trump back on the platform. Oh, okay. And like the Joe Rogans to come back on and fire it off. Well, keep me up, David. So I will, I will.
Starting point is 00:54:47 Any thoughts on that at all? Not one. No? Nope. I don't have one thought my brain. Anyways, I guess we move on to, we really talked up a storm today. I know, yeah. There was a lot of stuff in the news, actually, like, the social news.
Starting point is 00:54:58 And the Coach I love it all. Yeah. Do you want to touch on Ultimate? I don't even, like, I don't even need to talk about the Ultimaton that show. To me, I love reality TV. That is the one show where I was like, everybody is too off their rockers to find this enjoyable. I couldn't watch it I'm back on my train
Starting point is 00:55:21 where I thought it was sad at the end Oh I just like was like This is like they just need They need something else Besides being filmed on a reality Nick Lachet is a sadist Did I say that already? Okay
Starting point is 00:55:32 Yeah I was like they need help Instead of being filmed Did you do your taxes? Mm-hmm That was the worst day of my life To this day worse than my parents' divorce Really really horrible I just don't know if I'm gonna be sitting in this
Starting point is 00:55:48 chair in three weeks. In terms of being arrested? In terms of, yeah, and them seizing all my assets. I will say, this was my first year fully paying taxes as like a content creator influencer. Last year I was paying for the year that I taught. So I didn't, I was actually given back money because I made about $6 a year. And this year did well with brand deals and whatever.
Starting point is 00:56:17 and you get an individual 1099 for each brand deal. And that is, there's no money being withheld, which is all stuff that I've learned this weekend. So no one's withholding your money. So it all gets taken out at once for taxes. And that was my entire, that was my entire checking account. I'm now, I don't even know if I'm going to be able to pay my rent next month. Because I've given, I've given all my money away.
Starting point is 00:56:45 Scary. Well, they have a free... I don't understand how it's legal. They have free boarding in jail if you want to join me. I'm terrified myself. I filed the extension and now I have until October, which means I'll be doing it. Well, I don't get it because I filed the extension and paid every cent I had at the same time. So what am I extending?
Starting point is 00:57:07 I'm not giving them any more money. I don't have it. They're, I don't, Brooke, I don't know. I don't know either. I don't know. TurboTax. I did my extension. on turbotax on turbotax at cocella
Starting point is 00:57:19 turbo tax i'm sitting in the crowd like i'm looking at james charles ass cheeks and i'm filing for an extension on turbotax it was just like the most it was the most like bizarre plane of existence i've ever been on like what am i i'm doing like real person shit like and i'm at cocella like looking at someone's butt cheeks but i um think that turbo tax free idea i think turbo tax should have a revolve fest next year where you get to sit down with a tax advisor
Starting point is 00:57:50 with a drink and in your feather crown or flower crown and just figure out your taxes so you can enjoy your weekend and not go to jail. Well said, Connor. I'm also willing to do physical labor for just a little bit to maybe get down my payment on that.
Starting point is 00:58:06 What I will say? I will go to jail and do some whole style digging to get out of a little bit of my tax. It's just really, really, really, really. And I can't stressed at enough alarming when you don't know how much it's going to be taken from you and then all of a sudden and suddenly and all at once you have no money left because I had to go on Monday scrambling went to Wells Fargo to get a check drained my checking account came out six dollars per
Starting point is 00:58:31 parking couldn't afford it had to charge it to my card a card that's the that's the world we live in yeah it's really scary but anyway should we get to some emails yeah I just also want to say I don't know what the hell I'm paying taxes for because I am hitting potholes right and left. Right. I'm spilling my coffee on my shirt. What do taxes go to? Infrastructure? My ass. You've been shutting down the two lanes like in my neighborhood. It takes me
Starting point is 00:58:57 20 minutes. What are we paying for? I don't know what taxes go towards. The government. Does that help? I'm gonna, I don't know. I'm in opposition to these people now. Yeah. I mean, I think.
Starting point is 00:59:13 Didn't you tweet that all your, oh no, Sally, I tweeted all my friends are becoming Republicans. Yeah, that was me. That was me. I'm... I literally would always get mad at my dad for saying that he's socially liberal and fiscally conservative. I would be like, you can't do, you can't be mad at. I get it.
Starting point is 00:59:29 I get it. I get it. I am right there with you now. Sign me up. Also, the lack of transparency in the whole situation, what's going on? I don't, I don't know and I don't think anybody knows. And I wish that people would talk about it more. And I wish that we could have been of more help today instead of just complaining.
Starting point is 00:59:46 I will say 100% like get a tax person that you trust like an individual that's for their job. And if you don't do turbo tax because they dumb it down so much. Like I'm just clicking buttons. Like a literal monkey could probably do my taxes. When they say, did you do this to the best of your ability? Like you swear to God or you're, I'm like, yes. I'm like crying. Yes.
Starting point is 01:00:09 Yes. I think. Can you get in trouble even if you do it to the best of your ability and it's still not good enough? Brooke, I have no idea. We should bring a tax expert on the show. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. I need someone that's willing to go to jail for me.
Starting point is 01:00:25 Right. Right. A fill in. Yeah. No, no, no, no, no. I need someone that's willing to do my taxes and cut some major corners. Uh-huh. I know.
Starting point is 01:00:36 It's really bad. It's really bad because right now I'm doing, I'm working alone right now. You know, like I don't have any, I don't have a getaway car. Like I'm not working with a team of people that we're all kind of like, how do we stick it to the man? Right. Right. We're needing some of that energy. Anyways.
Starting point is 01:00:53 I don't know what I'm going to do. So the extension for the deadline is October 17th. Oh my God. October 17th, which means I'll be doing this on the 15th of October. That's a day before Zach Efron's birthday. Go figure. Yeah. What do you know?
Starting point is 01:01:08 Like it's all coming together. Yeah. Weird how that happens. I should text him. Okay. Oh, I met, I met Benny Drama this weekend. Oh, I love him. And he's like, love him.
Starting point is 01:01:20 He's awesome, I love him. He was so, so freaking nice. And he goes, you've been cracking me up lately. I was like, you don't follow me on anything. So how was I cracking you up? Maybe he tossed me a, there were so many people I met that were just legit, like TikTokers. And I'm like, oh, like, hey, like I know that we know who each other are. And they're like, hey, hey.
Starting point is 01:01:41 I'm like, okay, like, is that what we're doing? We are TikTokers. Swallow that pride. Before I swallow it for you. Yeah. I did spit on someone's face. I gleaked on Zach Bia. He's a big DJ.
Starting point is 01:01:56 That sounds familiar. Yeah, he's pretty, like, well-known. I went up to him because he went to USC, and we have, like, a bunch of mutual friends that are just, like, normal people. And I go, hey, Zach, gleaked, like, onto his face. And I was like, maybe he didn't notice. And then he goes, oh, like, and would not talk to me. And I was like, okay. Well, I mean, you can't win them all.
Starting point is 01:02:13 You really can. Yeah, I know you can. No one's ever said that you could. Okay, let's move in. We've talked up a freaking storm today. Let's go in. We have obviously emails today. We've been getting a lot of emails.
Starting point is 01:02:24 I want a new prompts for this week, so let me noodle on that. Well, I have thought of one. Oh, what is it? I want to hear your most embarrassing moments. Can we, can we? Yeah, okay. I like that. I was thinking.
Starting point is 01:02:35 Seems like you don't. I was adding, no, I was adding in a layer to that, but I think, Okay. Embarrassing is funny. I also think like... Think of yours because I have mine. Okay, cool. I guess like most embarrassing.
Starting point is 01:02:45 Yeah. It can be while you're drinking or on the weekend or something like that too. I think that that could be... Or not. It could just be any time, any day. Gleaking on Zach Bia was pretty horrible. Oh, that's your most embarrassing moment. I'm so jealous.
Starting point is 01:02:59 Imagine someone walking up to you in a crowd of like a place you wouldn't really, like, people go to not be approached. His last Instagram is with Drake and I'm pretty sure Ed Shearhan. I love Ed. We've established that. And I spit on his face. And I'm telling you right now, if you think that's embarrassing, you've got another thing coming for you next week.
Starting point is 01:03:21 Okay, good to know. Yeah. Oh, also, we have a voicemail set up. So if you, instead of emailing, you want to call us and tell us your hot takes or embarrassing stories or whatever. With their words, you can call and write this down, 323-379-214. that's 323 379-2-104 we look forward to hearing from you
Starting point is 01:03:44 now back to the emails Isabelle wrote in and she gave us a fuck-marry kill which is my favorite game of all time and yes you know that and I I take it very seriously it's like full on like Aristotle
Starting point is 01:03:58 at the round table I think about it in such depth and I take in I'm pulling up an email as well oh okay I factor in every single possible thing you could factor in Anyway, Isabel said, fuck Mary Kill. And I guess you can do this one too, but I feel like it is a little bit more for me. Crypt finance slash crypto bros, film bros, and Jimbrose.
Starting point is 01:04:19 Go ahead. So I think I'm going to marry a film bro because I just feel in terms of compatibility. He's smoking cigarettes every day on the balcony and he has a little ashtray out there. I mean, better than Jimbrough and finance bro for me. personally. Oh yeah. And he doesn't have to be smoking a cigarette. For sure he does.
Starting point is 01:04:41 No. And he wears turtlenex, like totally being totally normal. No, that is not what. No, not turtlenex. More like flannel situation. And he has glasses that aren't even for reading. No, he doesn't. They're for reading. Bro,
Starting point is 01:04:52 you can't make your ideal person that just enjoys film. I can and I did. So I'm marrying the film, bro. You got to go with the stereotype of these people. My stereotype can be different than your stereotype. Stereotypes are subjective. It's not how stereotypes are. Yes, it is.
Starting point is 01:05:06 Yes it is. Marrying a film bro. And what do you know? Jimbrough would have killed before. But now I've been enlightened. Via Egon. Via Egonx, via Logan. Fucking the Jimbrough, killing finance, crypto bro.
Starting point is 01:05:21 Interesting. Yeah. How about you? I don't know. Because I see a lot of myself in these people. You're there's... Okay. Besides going to the gym.
Starting point is 01:05:37 I don't... You're not a gym bro. Yeah. You're not a film, bro. I enjoy movies. Your favorite movie is 50 first dates. So. It's a great film.
Starting point is 01:05:48 Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you at all in the slightest. I agree with you. I just think to be a film, bro. You need to wear a turtleneck and smoke cigarettes on the balcony with fake glasses. No, you need to love like, um, like bad movies. I'm sorry. Like what? Like A24 movies, which a lot of people love.
Starting point is 01:06:08 And I get it. I like the shape of water. And I like I don't know I just feel like the film bros are like the A24 movies of the world Which like I get it Some of them are so cool
Starting point is 01:06:19 Damn did you watch the French dispatch Just like right over my head Did you watch French dispatch? No I didn't Was that A24? No it was Thomas Anderson Wes Anderson Yeah
Starting point is 01:06:28 No I didn't watch that Because I can't I like that I need heavy plot I like uh What's it called when things are Equal Equality?
Starting point is 01:06:39 No Symmetric? I like symmetry. Okay. In the way it's filmed, like visually. Yeah, I like the symmetry. I like the colors. Does anyone have a cigarette? Okay, maybe you are a film, bro. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Hot. And then, yeah. Okay. I don't really know the answer because I'm just describing the attributes of all of those. Your finance slash crypto. No, what the hell? Yes. That's how I would pin what I would. All right. I'm going to just move on. Okay. All right. So Haley spelled H. A.I. I-L-E-I-G-H. I have never, nor will I ever be a Swifty, Taylor Swift fan. Her voice is mediocre, nothing special.
Starting point is 01:07:17 Her songs are only good if you're a 17-year-old girl going through her first breakup. Not to mention watching her on stage gives me second-hand embarrassment. I'm sure she's a nice person, and I just think she's overrated and not worth the hype. Let me know your thoughts. I've been through a bit of a whirlwind with Taylor Swift myself. Started off loving her when I was 13 and teardrops on my guitar came out. I've never related, never even kissed anyone, but also, never related to anything more than their jobs on my guitar.
Starting point is 01:07:43 Then became her era of like dating Harry Styles when I was like, you're completely canceled and I'm cutting you out of my life. And I think a lot of girls went through that because anybody who's dating Harry Styles, a lot of people can't get on board with. And I regret that. But I was, you know, I was emotional at the time. Right. So didn't like her for a really, really long time, mostly because of that. And also I was like, eh, I don't think I like her music.
Starting point is 01:08:05 But that was probably tainted with me not liking her because of Harry Styles. Okay. Now I love her Folklore changed my life That album I think it was so brilliant All too well
Starting point is 01:08:16 Ten Minute version changed my life as well I like her Yeah Is that the only reason you like her? Yeah Okay She's an entrepreneur I do like
Starting point is 01:08:25 I think her lyrics are genius Yeah I don't think she's a country singer anymore Is my only thing But No But I think she's a really
Starting point is 01:08:33 Interesting example Of how we got that Hot take Of how people don't like Basic things She's been through like a whole cycle of she was really like basic to
Starting point is 01:08:42 like at one point and so everyone stopped liking her but then once everyone stopped liking her it became cool to like her again because everyone stopped liking her so now everyone likes her again has anyone ever has anyone that maybe annoys you or that you don't like in your personal life
Starting point is 01:08:58 liked something and it makes you dislike thing that everybody likes yes that's where I'm at with Taylor yeah because I'm like oh this person likes I'm absolutely like sour taste in my mouth. Yeah, I do understand that. And I think that's honestly
Starting point is 01:09:14 at the core of the whole basic issue is like too many people start liking it, including people that you think are annoying so you can't like it anymore. It's the public obsessiveness over the whole thing where I'm like, that is so bizarre. I cannot relate to that. So it makes you want to just avoid it at all cost.
Starting point is 01:09:29 But that being said, like, love story, I still play at parties when I don't know what to play. You have never seen a crowd. Love story is on part. with like come on i lean i think that throwbacks should only be should that's the only thing should be played at parties is throwbacks you're never going to have a happier crowd yeah
Starting point is 01:09:47 no yeah you're right okay um i think it's on it's on par with like come on irene and like i just can't look it's killing me what's that bright side mr bright side like those are all songs where like do you know that song is supposedly about matthew gray goobler I am not even just saying that. Oh, no, I didn't know that. That song is supposedly about Matthew Greigbler.
Starting point is 01:10:13 He's the guy that that's about. He has come on record and said it's not about him, but there was a whole thing about that being about him. Bizarre. Full circle moment. Yeah, really, truly. All right, well, that's my answer. Okay.
Starting point is 01:10:26 I don't dislike her because I like her drive. I, what I consider myself a Swifty. That's an excellent. question. Maybe at this point, maybe at this point. I'm headed there. Okay. The next album would make or break that. Right. Okay. Cool. Yeah. So I could circle back on that. Well, good to know. Yeah. Thanks for the emails. Thank you guys. I, what are we?
