Starting point is 00:00:00 This episode is brought to you by Prime. Obsession is in session. And this summer, Prime Originals have everything you want. Steamy romances, irresistible love stories, and the book to screen favorites you've already read twice. Off campus, L, every year after, the love hypothesis, Sterling Point, and more. Slow burns, second chances, chemistry you can feel through the screen. Your next obsession is waiting. Watch only on Prime.
Starting point is 00:00:30 winter is so last season. And now spring's got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes. Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs. You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders. That perfect hang on the patio sundress. Those sandals you can wear all day and all night. And you've had enough of shopping from your couch. Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope.
Starting point is 00:00:54 It's time for a little in-person spring treat. It's time for a trip to Ross. Work your magic. Plan B is a backup birth control option that's there for you when things don't go according to plan. It specifically works after unprotected sex and before pregnancy occurs by temporarily delaying ovulation. Plan B is available nationwide at all major retailers and through delivery apps like DoorDash. No ID, prescription, or age requirement. It's the number one OBGYN recommended brand of emergency contraception,
Starting point is 00:01:24 and it won't impact your future fertility. That's Freedom to Be. Use us directed. When Connard told me that Joe Biden came out as bisexual the other day, and it just like for no reason lied to me. She goes, oh, good. That's awesome. Like, I was happy for him.
Starting point is 00:01:42 Yeah, obviously. I mean, he just photo dumped, so it wasn't, like, he's clearly. Is photo dumping a bisexual trait? No, it's, no. Okay. I'm just saying like he's clearly. I'm going to dig myself. Yeah, I'll go ahead and change the subject so that we can move on.
Starting point is 00:01:59 I mean, he's liberal. He's a liberal king. There was something I was going to tell you. I was going to ask, you just said before we started rolling that you're glad you didn't eat because you get tired after you eat. After I eat. And I do too. And I'm just wondering, do you think we're sick?
Starting point is 00:02:41 To me, that sounds like an illness now that you repeated it back. Because I think the entire purpose of food is that it's supposed to give you energy, like science, from a science perspective. No, I eat. So like, what time am I going to have to wake up if I have to eat before and so that I can get past my tired so that I can. Five? because to me it's like I'm eating lunch and then immediately I'm in bed napping it off you know yeah I have to get something off my chest
Starting point is 00:03:07 this is just really it's it's embarrassing what it's a bad look for me I have been sleeping on my couch for the past five nights is it because you have so many clothes in your bed because that's where I am too I washed my sheets and I just can't get myself to put my fitted sheet on I don't blame you. I think that's why people like date. So they have another person.
Starting point is 00:03:30 So they have someone else to put the fitted sheet on? I've been sleeping on my couch in my one bedroom apartment because I don't want to put my fitted sheet back on my bed. And that's why I can't wait to sign up for better help. I, my fitted sheet is just on top of my bed, on top of my duvet. And I'm sleeping on directly on the mattress pad. If that makes sense. if you can picture that.
Starting point is 00:03:56 I know I can see that. Yeah. Again, I would recommend it to you. I want to emphasize the fact that I'm sleeping on my couch. Yeah. I brought my blankets out from my bed and now that is my bedroom now. Yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:04:07 Yeah. I don't know what to say. Just wishing you was speedy recovery. Thanks. Yeah. Of course. So how are you? What did you do this weekend?
Starting point is 00:04:15 I kind of had like a bit of a sneaky bender situation because we had events. I had, you and I went to the roast. of Bryce Hall. Right. Who, by the way, if you don't know Bryce Hall, Bryce Hall's a big TikToker. He had,
Starting point is 00:04:32 it was hosted by Jason Nash. Right. And Seat Geek and all of these cool. And it was a roast of him. And it was brutal. Like, I left the room. I think I, yeah, I disassociated for the,
Starting point is 00:04:46 I was like, this is like it's actually mean. It was, yeah, it was pretty mean. I feel like I do generally like kind of, mean humor, but it still has to be funny. Like, this was just mean for the sake of being mean. And I felt so bad for everybody. Like, I felt uncomfortable and bad for everybody that was being roasted.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Like, I don't think I was laughing. Anyways, I was just, we were, I mean, you, you weren't. I was just sucking down drinks because it was an open bar. I was just, it was like, scary. Yeah, it was. But we met some cool people. We did. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Wait. Obviously, like, the whole crew is there, Tana Mojo, like, the whole, like, influencery crew was there. But then there were, like, a couple other people. Olivia Jade was there. She was so nice. So nice. The coolest girl ever. And you know when, like, this happens to me all the time where before I leave my house, I look in the mirror.
Starting point is 00:05:47 And I'm like, you are just so pretty. And you are going to kill it tonight. Like, your outfits on fire. like you rock girl. And then the second I see one other person, I'm like, I need a bag to put over my head and my body because I shouldn't be allowed out of the house. And Olivia Jade, like, sweetest person in the world, but just looking at her, I was like, I shouldn't be in this room.
Starting point is 00:06:13 She is so stunning. And she was nice, which sucks. Like you kind of always hope that someone like that is like not so nice. So you can at least your jealousy like is. you can't have it all. You can't have it all. She does. She was really, really nice and really funny. And so I had met her when she came in.
Starting point is 00:06:34 We have mutual friends, but then also like the same team. And then we talked for a second. And then I turn around and this is just like every other celebrity interaction that both you and I share in the same night. I turn around. Brooke, our friend Tristan and Olivia are at the bar. Olivia is buying them burgers. I was hungry. I was just like that is,
Starting point is 00:07:00 she's so, she's so nice. Tristan said, I want a burger, but I don't want to spend $35. And then Olivia said, I'll get it for you. And then I said,
Starting point is 00:07:09 well, I sure I'm hungry. You don't want to miss an opportunity like that. No, but I did order it without the buns because I wanted her to think I'm skinny. So Olivia Jade bought me a burger, hold the bun,
Starting point is 00:07:21 you would, a regular burger just with my hands around just a patty. Shoveling that in my mouth while Bryce Hall is walking by. Olivia Jade is just kind of sitting there with me. She didn't order any food. Sweet Angel. Josh Richards was right behind you. Yeah. Anyway, it was really nice girl.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Anyway, I just cannot say enough good things about her. She was amazing. We ended up going, I went with her, her friend Natasha. I don't know. And we went to Saddle Ranch. And I took myself home at about 9.30. I want to do that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:56 Well, that was Wednesday. And then the thing about like accidentally starting the weekend with an event on a Wednesday is that like, then Thursday comes. And our friends with more traditional careers are like, all right, the weekend is approaching. It's time to start having fun. And I was like, oh, well, I was out until 2 a.m. yesterday. But like, who am I to say no to my friends who have been. just working their asses off all week. I need to go celebrate the end of the week with them.
Starting point is 00:08:25 So Thursday, I didn't do that. Thursday, I went to the launch for that company Sunroom that I'm working with. Sunroom, if you're not familiar, is a great startup for female and non-binary creators to monetize their content. That's cool. And it looked like a fun party. There were stingrays in, like, usually, like, there's, like, in, like, super beautiful homes. like that there, I could see there being like a coy pond, but I did notice in your pictures that there were stingrays in a pond. And there were stingrays in this pond, and this is an indoor pond.
Starting point is 00:09:00 There are stingrays in there because he did remove the sharks for this event, because he was, he was feeling that it was more of a stingray vibe. And I did meet the owner of the home. And obviously, my first question is like, do you want me to spend the night? Like, it's a big house. Like, Are you lonely? Are you okay? Yeah. You know? You're just looking out for him. And he's like, no, I'm good. And I'm like, all right, well, let me know. And then I'm like, you checked everywhere for killers. Like before you go to bed every night, it's a huge house.
Starting point is 00:09:27 And he's like, no, I kind of like came to terms with being murdered. That would be a really good task rabbit job for you as like to be someone to come in and check for killers. Because guess what? I do that. I live in a one bedroom apartment and I check showers and under my bed. I have no other storage areas. I am shocked to my core every time there's not a killer. Oh.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Like I am fully expecting there to be. someone every single night and when there's not I'm just like well guess I got lucky tomorrow's the day tomorrow I'll meet another day yep I know but it is nice to wake up feeling gratitude that you weren't murdered right I think my toxic trait is that I think that I could maybe I told you I think I said this before I think I could maybe befriend the killer and I'm like hey listen come on you don't need to kill me I'm sure a threat yeah they're looking for friends that's why they're there yeah yeah you want to take my stuff, take my style. Like, what's your motive here?
Starting point is 00:10:22 Unless you just want to kill, the kill, then I'm not, I'm not gonna stop. Like, I can't, look at my upper body. Like, I can't stop a killer. I'm dead. Right, right, right. Oh, did you see, you also saw Jackass? I did see Jackass, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:37 No, I did see Jackass. How was that? I don't know anything about the, I did Google in prep. I was doing my homework and I YouTube jackass. And is it just people like smacking each other in the face for two hours? Oh, yeah. But there's a lot of...
Starting point is 00:10:55 There's no plot. We said Euphoria has a lot of penises in it. Right. Jackass invented. Really? Jack as invented. I didn't see that in my research. Screen time for the penis and the balls.
Starting point is 00:11:09 It is, I'm not kidding. It's like blatant. Shout out to Manscaped. Yeah. It is like insane. Like, because I saw it in like a big theater. I didn't get invited to David Dobricks early release. Next time.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Maybe. we didn't talk a ton at the roast of Bryce Hall, but he was there. Oh, I didn't see him. Yeah. I guess I did. I just lied to your face. Okay. I was going to say you were sitting like maybe 10 feet away from him.
Starting point is 00:11:34 Right, right, right. And Natalie. But Jackass is like something I grew up with. So I would, we would go see this thing. And like the big screen is like, do not try these things at home. Like you'll get really seriously injured. And so naturally we're like, I need a grocery cart. And I need someone to push me down a hill into a, like,
Starting point is 00:11:52 So is it kind of just like TikToks all compiled together to make a movie? This thing that we grew up with and it's crazy that you're so far removed because these jackass things were like they were seriously like injuring that they're like getting in the ring with a bull.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Like a spoiler alert Not really because Is it all the same people doing it or is it like different? We grew up with these guys A lot of them were like professional skateboarders Whatever they're now older. Johnny Knoxville,
Starting point is 00:12:25 Stevo, you don't know any of these people? No, I've never heard of these people in my life. Wow. Okay, well, they're like OG legends, but they're still, this is 25 years later, and so they showed,
Starting point is 00:12:36 like, Johnny Knoxville going into the ring with his bull when he was 25, and now he's, like, 51. Yeah, like, so Johnny Knoxville's on the left. Right. Eric Andre was in this newest one. Tyler the Creator was in this newest one. And they were doing stunts?
Starting point is 00:12:54 It's like hardly stunts. It's like, they'll be like, hello, my name is Stivo, and this is scorpion Botox. And they'll take a scorpion and he'll sit there and they'll hold a scorpion and have it sting him in the mouth. The one I saw was a guy with like a little cup over his manscaped region area. and someone was like swinging a hatchet towards it. That tracks, that one seems. Yeah. But like there's a couple stunts in this one that I straight up could not.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Right. I guess I'm just kind of wondering like, like why? Yeah. Yeah, I guess that is my big question. Shock value. I understand like why watching, like why some people would want to watch. I personally don't. But why would you want to be on the receiving end of the hatchet?
Starting point is 00:13:44 I don't, I didn't watch Taylor Swift's all too well 10 minute version on YouTube. So I guess it's like... I am not understanding that connection. There's just like different jokes for different folks, I think. It's the point I'm trying to make. I don't know. Do we want to talk about the E word? The E word?
Starting point is 00:14:02 So we've had so many requests to not make this an entire show about Euphoria, but we record on Mondays. It's not our fault. I don't want to say too much, but I will say. We could probably speed it up. Yeah, I don't have a ton to say either. It was just like so heartbreaking. Like I don't even like, I have nothing to say.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Like it was just so sad. I have something to say. And heartbreaking and I like felt sick the whole time. Okay, yeah? I felt sick and you know that I was having really bad Sunday scaries yesterday due to what I did on Saturday. But it's not the show. It was not the episode to watch in the space that I was in.
Starting point is 00:14:42 And also it's gotten too real. I wish when it was, I miss when it was just like attractive. people making out and like it was very casual and fun and it was easy to make fun of i don't even want to touch like it's not fun anymore it was too real no it made me yeah it made me sad and anxious and i was yeah i was closing my eyes most of the episode i just yeah i don't have nothing really to say there don't have a ton of say on that every time after i watch it i have to put on something light and fresh yeah i can go to sleep i yeah i put on some some show tunes and just kind of sing it out out, you know?
Starting point is 00:15:17 Yeah? I'm sure you do the same thing. I don't even know. What is a show tune? Like Broadway musicals? Do you know one Broadway musical? Because that was like when I, in middle school, like, that's all I wanted to do was be on Broadway, even though I have no abilities in that area.
Starting point is 00:15:33 You can sing. We've covered this. Quietly and in the shower. No, I don't know. I don't think I know any. Okay, wow. West Side Story. Good job, Connor.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Wicked. Oh, my God. Broadway. Yes. Kiss your brain. What's the one with Miranda Singh? Or Lynn Miranda? I just had a struck.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Lynn Manuel. Yeah, Limel Hamilton. Hamilton. Yeah, you are so good, Connor. I'm nailing it today. Anyways, I'm so sorry. I think we just got off on like a full-blown tangent. I want to talk to you about, I don't know if you saw this, but have you seen the Kim
Starting point is 00:16:11 Kardashian and Kanye West online debacle? Yeah, I have. Online debacle. Yeah, that's an awesome. Another thing that kind of just makes me sad. Yeah. What do you think? Well, for background info, I think Kanye started posting a screenshot of the TikTok
Starting point is 00:16:29 rules and regulations because he's upset about the fact that North is on TikTok and he doesn't know what to do because Kim is the primary caregiver and he's like, how do I get my daughter off of TikTok? Well, his first screenshot was a picture of a TikTok that she posted. Right. And it was like, this is my first divorce. Like how do I handle this? And so he thinks it's inappropriate for her to be on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:16:52 So naturally he's going to post with her giving her a little bit of a platform. Right, right. A screenshot of her profile on his massive Instagram account. Yeah. And then. Kim came back and was like, handle this like privately please. Like maybe if you, maybe if you'd respond to one of your three lawyers this year. Right.
Starting point is 00:17:11 I mean, I just stand her so much. And Kanye has since deleted all of the photos on her. on his Instagram. To me, like this worries me. Like, obviously... It's so sad. Well, because he did this before
Starting point is 00:17:24 a similar thing and then had like a full blown mental breakdown. It's clearly mental illness. It's freaking me out. But lighter than that, the more Kardashian stuff, did you see the Harry Jousy thing?
Starting point is 00:17:37 And Chloe Kardashian thing? Wait, but really quickly, the funny thing about the Kanye thing was that he was like, you kidnapped North. Like, I couldn't go to her birthday party because you wouldn't give me the address. And it was at Kylie's house.
Starting point is 00:17:50 Like, do you not know where Kylie lives? Are you asking me? No, I'm talking to Kanye right now. Oh. But, you know, just like, Kanye, if you're listening. Kanye, if you're listening, it was literally at Kylie's house,
Starting point is 00:18:01 what are you doing? Yeah. But sorry, Harry Jousy. No, I just saw the Instagram account, Dumois posted that someone that works at a PR agency got confirmation that Harry Jazy had rented a Maybach or like, Rolls Royce is some ridiculous car and bought a bunch of flowers and was driving them over to Chloe
Starting point is 00:18:21 Kardashian's house because they've been seeing each other. And then she commented on it. Wasn't she like I'd rather fucking die? No, she said absolutely not true in all caps. I don't know if that confirms or denies, but it sounds like we... No, yeah. I don't think that that's it. Well, then he posted a Harry Jazzy posted a photo dump.
Starting point is 00:18:39 And one of the photos was a photo of flowers, like a smack dab in the middle of his tin. It was a picture of like a Maybach. and with like flowers. Yeah, I don't know, but I don't, I don't think that's something that we have to worry about is Chloe and Mary. I just think it's really good. That is really good. So, just so funny. Like this timeline that we live in, we're like, like, like, that's a possibility.
Starting point is 00:19:01 Yeah. Yeah. And I don't really, like, keep up with that. But like, that is just like, I miss the days of your when, like, massive celebrities, like, would not even know that people existed. And she's responding to this. So like she knows who. My one wish for Chloe is that her next man is just like someone she meets on the street that will just is not famous, doesn't play sports, doesn't act, whatever, and just will treat her right. You know, and it's just like a no one, not a no one, but like nobody knows who they are.
Starting point is 00:19:38 I think that that's, Chloe, if you're listening to this at all, I think that would be really great for you. and if you need any connections I can introduce to my friend Connor or someone else Maybe I would fit into this Travis Barker Pete Davidson group I mm-hmm Yeah
Starting point is 00:19:56 And we could fit right in there We could shoot the shit And we could maybe Me and the boys could go do What would we do together We could like I don't even Golf
Starting point is 00:20:06 Mini golf you Pete Travis Machine and Kelly can can caddy that would be really nice Yeah, that would be fun Okay Something I kind of want to talk about
Starting point is 00:20:18 Yeah Is that I think people are Even though we gave What I thought was a solid intro Last episode People are still kind of wondering Who we are And I just want to say
Starting point is 00:20:27 That we are from I think TikTok Is where people would know us from And I think That something Unique about us Is the way we make our TikToks Which is something that we've been talking about
Starting point is 00:20:40 Yes Yeah I was like where is she We're going with this. Yeah. Sometimes I start and just you got to kind of find it on the way. But do you want to talk about like the process of how you might make a video? And I think it's pretty similar to the way I might.
Starting point is 00:20:54 Yeah. So I mean, we've kind of like shirts the question. Like what are you? What are you? Right. It'd be like content and we do digital stuff. Right. I think at our core we're TikTokers.
Starting point is 00:21:03 Right. That's where we started was TikTok. But it's more in like the comedy talking even skip based stuff. But yeah. one of the ways that we kind of figured out that we do like the same sort of creative process would be these things we call seeds and I am going to burp and you can pick them basically the way that we start with a little seed which is a tiny idea that we usually kind of write on our notes app and then either we'll come back to it and make it
Starting point is 00:21:37 you know make a seed into a larger plant or tree what have you whatever comes from seeds or we'll kind of just not know what we were talking about. So I took some screenshots of some seeds that were on my phone that I would maybe want you to look at and kind of we could see if I made them a video or we could try to decipher what they would have been. I don't know if you have any that. I have one just off of the top of my head that I found the other day. So let me try to pull it up.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Basically it's a note and all these notes are always at like, 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Like they're always like the most random. So I have some that are that are decent. Like I can decipher them. Yeah, one of them is...
Starting point is 00:22:24 Give me one. Matthew McConaughey in a Lincoln commercial. You know, or any... Have you seen those? Yeah, yeah. He's very like ambient. He's like driving and it's nighttime and there's all these beautiful shots
Starting point is 00:22:37 and he's just like got his green lights voice or he's just like... Sometimes. you gotta let the wind take you where the wind like it's just like the most vague absurd stuff but i thought it'd be funny if it switched into him getting like being pulled over for like a DUI that's really good yeah did you film that or is it just because i don't know where to begin so that's the other thing about these things i'm like that was a brilliant idea at 2 a.m but like where where do i go you need to make that a thing and guys don't steal that idea or we we can cause legal suit for sure
Starting point is 00:23:11 or if you have an idea of how I could script that out I would take or DM Connor either way yeah let me I can read you some of mine but I have another one pulled up oh okay yeah I do and I'm just gonna take off my phone case because it's green and I wouldn't want that to interfere but here is my business card for a magician that I was in love with hi Zach yeah okay go ahead so one of them this one is also from let's see where I just lost it oh I don't know if we can get this on camera It's pretty far away.
Starting point is 00:23:42 But this one is from 1.03 a.m. Right. And it just says, Streep Club. Streep Club? Bullet point, Merrill. There is something like that. Like Merrill Street Club. Like something of Streep.
Starting point is 00:24:00 Like it's an Instagram account and it's just Merrill like in like different scenarios. Like Merrill like as a topping on a sandwich or like Merrill like I don't know. Just like Merrill on different scenarios. scenarios. Maybe you were inspired by that. Maybe so consciously. I haven't seen that. But that was that that's one that I like. I like Street Club. Merch idea, which is a picture of Merrill in the back. Um, okay, I can give you one of mine. All right. Give me it. This one was funny because your name was in it. Oh, right. And it, the heading is phone call. And this is from 8th February 16th, 2021. So a year ago. It says, oh, hi mom.
Starting point is 00:24:41 up who's asked question mark then 16 enters oh wait what flavor and then it says Connor it's for you so I'm do you have any
Starting point is 00:24:52 no you're gonna have to piece that one I literally have no idea what that could have been and then this one is just I don't know if you can see this it just says every kiss begins with K and like I don't know where I was going with that at all and I told you about that
Starting point is 00:25:07 the one a while ago that we actually tried to work on which was you versus the guy you're she tells you not to worry about oh god that was but it's an intruder in your home right and so it would be like the girlfriend of this person in the spit is like um like babe don't worry like we left the door unlocked but like no one's gonna be in there and it's like there's someone in there and that's the guy she told you not to worry about right that one needed work we did end up filming that yeah and it blew chunks it wasn't it wasn't good and then this one is 73 questions with folk, but you're flirting with the cameraman and you take a piece of clothing off every
Starting point is 00:25:45 time he asks a question, which we, I made you film with me, but it turned out a little different, but that was a funny one. I like that one. I thought it was pretty funny. Yeah. Yeah, I think that that, so that should give a little, I mean, I don't know if that gave any clarity to anybody regarding some background. Yeah. That's creative. I hope that helps. That's kind of our creative process and a lot of it, I'm looking at these now. I just, they are not English. But hopefully that helped. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:14 Gave some guidance. For some further background. Yeah. We do a ton of other stuff too. For sure. I'm an investor. You are. Didn't in what?
Starting point is 00:26:27 In any, like in my own life, I invest my time into stuff. And I also am minting an NFT this week. A non-fundable token. Non-fundable. Because I want to end the stereo. type that women don't know what NFTs are. Because I know that it's a non-fundable token. And what it basically is is that...
Starting point is 00:26:48 Fungible. I said fungible. And what it basically is, is that it's an object or an image or anything that you own in a non-fungible sort of way. Hope that helped. Brilliant. Okay. Sorry. What were you saying?
Starting point is 00:27:05 I just had to kind of, for people that don't know what an NFT is, I was just kind of explaining that to you guys. Well, I'll be minting an NFT this week. What do you mean? On Thursday. What is minting? See, okay, here's the situation. And I'm going to be fully transparent.
Starting point is 00:27:17 I don't really understand. I feel like we just made up a bunch of words, but I do understand that there's some sort of transaction that occurs, and I'll be celebrating this minting of this image that I'm going to be purchasing with Ethereum. Don't even get me started on Ethereum. You kind of lost me there. That's what I'm saying? Like, we just like, what, were we out of words?
Starting point is 00:27:38 We couldn't just say, like, I'm buying. I'm buying this thing. Right. I'm buying this shit. So you're going to buy, what is Ethereum though in all seriousness? Ethereum is a, it's like Bitcoin. But at the time that I purchased it, it was way more affordable than it is now, which means I've made money investing in Ethereum.
Starting point is 00:27:58 Because it does ebb and flow, much like the ocean. Sure. So what's your NFT? It's a little robot person in a mask. A picture? or a sculpture? It's a picture. It's a digital image.
Starting point is 00:28:12 Uh-huh. So. So. Right. Enjoy? I enjoy. I completely understand why. They're sitting in the presence of someone who's about to own that little robot mask.
Starting point is 00:28:25 And I understand why someone would want to do that. Yeah. Well, I mean, a lot of people want to do it. No, I, yeah, I get it. And I know that a lot of people that are listening right now. Hunter, hey, look at me. I get it, babe. I know where you're coming from.
Starting point is 00:28:38 I'm sensing like a lot of tension right now because I think that you might be I can put in a good word if you'd like to meant I don't want I don't need to today but I'm just telling you that I support you and I'm standing with you and I understand I get it I get it I'm an NFT girl at heart and I get it right is what I want you to know I love I love non fungible tokens not fungible tokens there's a G in it like I'm just not hearing you say the G non fungible tokens okay we have probably six takes of you saying fundable. But who am I to keep count? No, so Justin Bieber just got an NFT. I don't know if you saw. He got a sad ape. And there it is. So he owns that.
Starting point is 00:29:27 They look a lot of light, right? And that is his. Maybe the facial shape. So it's his. And if I were to screenshot that, I would be stealing his image. and you would go to jail? I don't know the ins and outs of the legal system,
Starting point is 00:29:44 but I don't think I would go to jail. But I don't know. And just for reference, is this like a $5 thing or like $500? I understand where you're coming from. He actually went ahead and he bought it for the hefty sum of $1.2.9 million USD. And that was actually five times the market price. And so I don't know what his game plan was for spending. it was for 500
Starting point is 00:30:09 Ethereum. I mean and Ethereum individually are worth XUSD and so he did buy that Bored Ape. I might have fooled you guys when I said that I understand it and I know you probably were really believing me when I said that
Starting point is 00:30:24 but I am just at a loss for buying, spending millions of dollars on that cartoon picture. This is the future. Yeah, I guess. Gwyneth Paltrow said it. That's gospel. Yeah, I mean, I think I just have to accept that this is not something that...
Starting point is 00:30:42 You don't want to be on the wrong side of her story here. So I would suggest maybe looking into minting alongside me at some point. Thank you. And I can't wait to mint holding your hand. Do you watch the Winter Olympics? Speaking of NFTs. No. Do you watch the Winter Olympics at all? No. And what the hell?
Starting point is 00:30:59 Is it winter still? It's February. Well, it's California, so it's kind of hard to tell. But I think winter goes through March. Yeah, the Winter Olympics are on. You could have fooled me. How'd they so quiet? I think maybe I'm just like, it's tough because the Super Bowl is coming up
Starting point is 00:31:15 and so I'm like, everything I see is like Super Bowl, Super Bowl, Super Bowl, but justice for the Winter Olympics. You could shove the Winter Olympics down my throat, I don't mind. I think that they should give it more airtime. More airtime, yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:28 I feel like what's the other season that the other Olympics are in summer? Yeah, it's going to be summer. Yeah, I think I prefer those just because. What if they had like Autumn Olympics? pumpkin chunking raking
Starting point is 00:31:39 we used to we had a punk and chunking pumpkin chunking pumpkin chunking we had trunk or treat what trunk or treat what you finish your pumpkin chunking oh uh pumpkin chunkin was just
Starting point is 00:31:49 we had to make a thank you Connor we had to make a device that would chunk and by chunk I mean like hurl a pumpkin and we could see like who could catapult the pumpkin the farthest you're just talking about like a catapult
Starting point is 00:32:02 competition in school yeah but it's a punk and chunker at the end of the day at the end of the day I think we can all agree on that Okay, well, I agree. Pumpkin, chunkin. So that could be autumn.
Starting point is 00:32:08 How was that? I did not really participate in the building of the chunker itself, but I did cheer my teammates on and was able to go buy the pumpkin. That was an integral part of. Someone had to buy the pumpkin and that was me. Now, trunk or treat occurred in my neighborhood because I think what my parents didn't know when they moved me into our neighborhood was that it was a retirement community, basically. So all of the older individuals in my community were like, stay off of my property.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Right. So anyone wanting to participate in trick-or-treating could do it out of the back of cars at this parking lot. And so we would go like- That's so sad. It's horrific. And like that's where probably a lot of my trauma stems from, I never got to go to house-to-house. Wow. Yeah. Wow.
Starting point is 00:32:59 I'm sorry. That's why I signed up for better help. to discuss that. No, I don't really, I like the summer Olympics a lot. I like the Winter Olympics. I like to watch the gymnastics.
Starting point is 00:33:13 Is that winter or summer? I think summer. It could be either because you do it inside. You can do it inside. But that's what I, I'm pretty sure that summer. The thing I know about winter is that there's bobsledding, which is something that I think I would be good at.
Starting point is 00:33:26 One, because I think I'm like pretty tiny and can see myself kind of condensing into that. And I think it's the only sport where you could truly be laying down with your eyes closed and have a shot, which is something that I feel compatible with, you know? Yeah. Yeah, it's pretty intense.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Cuba Gooding Jr. Did that whole documentary about it. On bobsledding? Cool runnings. I'll have to check it out. The Jamaican bobsled team. Thanks for the wreck. Great.
Starting point is 00:33:56 It's a classic movie. Okay, I'll give it a watch. Thank you. I don't even know a single other. Do we know any other? skiing. Skiing is an Olympics. Snowboarding.
Starting point is 00:34:06 Tubing. That's like X games. Do they do that in the Olympics? Oh, I guess you can be an Olympian. Ice fishing. What? Yes. You're making stuff up.
Starting point is 00:34:14 I'm not. Ice fishing is in the Olympics. You're going to go like snow angling. Yes. Like shoveling. Snowman building. Stravelling my front porch. Manscaping.
Starting point is 00:34:27 Yeah, all that is kind of. I think I would be really bad on the other hand at that one where they fly down the mountain and then hit that jump and they're just in the air for like forever? Do you know what I'm talking about? Yeah, I would die before I hit the ground. I would die mid-air. Oh, winter Olympics sports. Okay, there's alpine skiing and I think that's what I'm talking about when I... Curling! How could I forget curling, figure skating? I said, lugeing. Luge. Luge. I love lusying. It's a good. I could say luge for the rest of the podcast. Me too. Let's just slip luge in. Okay. What's skeleton? That sounds
Starting point is 00:35:02 So there's a sport called skeleton. And to me... Why am I not seeing... Oh, there's Bob. Bob Slaying? I thought it was Bob sledding. No, Bob Slaying is... 22.
Starting point is 00:35:12 Because they're slaying it out there. Queen. I don't know what biathlon is. Where are you seeing that? I'm seeing it top row. Biathlon. Oh, that looks like shooting. Some shooting.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Yeah. They should be more clear about what these are. Nordic... combined. Biathlon. Oh, biathlon would be a triathlon with only two events, I'm assuming. Oh, so not shooting. No, you're shooting. You're shooting a bow and arrow.
Starting point is 00:35:44 Cool. It's skiing. It's a little bit of both. It's a mix. It's a combination of skiing and shooting when it comes down to it. Well, awesome. I think I would be really bad at ski jumping. That's my answer. I think I would be really good at whatever skeleton is. I'm sure I'd be good at that.
Starting point is 00:36:02 And I'm good at Bopslaying. Because it sounds like I'm going to, it sounds like you just die. Which I feel like I would succeed. Put it on a show and then be laid it all in the line for my country. That's just me. Okay. Oh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:15 So skeleton is just like you're laying on the, I don't really. That also, I am like a big fan of winter sports because it seems like you can do a lot of them laying down. Skeleton at Beijing 2020. Oh, it's in Beijing. You know, I've been to Beijing. I do actually know you've been. How was it? It was scary.
Starting point is 00:36:33 It was the scariest time of my life because I got on... Didn't you go alone or something? Yep, I got on my flight and all of my friends missed their flight from San Francisco. They were all supposed to be in San Francisco and then fly to China. And I was calling them... Was this like a spring break in Beijing kind of situation? What were you doing? We were going to Bali, Indonesia.
Starting point is 00:36:51 And for me to get there from... Where was I coming from? I guess from Texas. I had to fly through San Francisco and then go to Hong Kong or Beijing. or Hong Kong? I don't know, China. And then didn't go to Bali. But all of my friends were coming from Hawaii and they were going to fly from Hawaii to San Francisco backwards, which didn't make a ton of sense. But because of the time change of our flight, they thought it was the next day. So I got on my flight and got to wherever in China and I was by myself and I had to like navigate. And it's not like super
Starting point is 00:37:25 English friendly naturally. Right. Like reading wise and like transit wise. So I was just like I hope I'm going to the right area. And it was beautiful, but I was scared for my life. Yeah. How long were you there? 48 hours. That is scary. I can't even go to Florida by myself, barely. So thinking about you and that time. Thanks.
Starting point is 00:37:47 No, it was a good time and I like to talk about it. Okay. One more little bit of pop culture for you. And then we can move on to maybe giving some people advice. Have you heard there's a New Girl podcast? No. So it's, did you watch New Girl? not really. I don't have anything against New Girl. Like I would normally...
Starting point is 00:38:06 I feel like a lot of the bits that you do, like man periods... People always say Schmidt. Well, even like the Man Period bit, which is a Winston bit, like that's from New Girl. I feel like your sense of humor is very consistent with that show. Maybe I'll check it out. And I implore you to check it out because I... It is really, really good. But anyway, there's a New Girl podcast with just like the cast of New Girl. So it's Zoe H. Chanel, Hannah, Simon, or Simone. That's the girl who played Cecee.
Starting point is 00:38:31 And I think Lamourne, I don't know how you say his name, but it's Winston. They're just like rewatching New Girl and going through the episodes via podcast. And one of the things that Zoe said... That's what always Sunny in Philadelphia does too. Really? Yeah. But remind me to tell something that makes me sad after I finish my thought. But Zoe was saying that the producer said that her and Jake Johnson, who plays Nick, had too much chemistry.
Starting point is 00:38:57 Which is really interesting for all of us, people who are fans of the news. Nick and Jess kind of relationship. What could possibly too much chemistry look like? And Connor, I'm glad you asked because this is something I've been giving a lot of thought. The Nick and Jess romance was very much like a slow burn. Both of them kind of the characters didn't know they liked each other, but it was very clear to the audience that they were in love and that they were going to end up together. And it was so, so good and people loved it so much because like the sexual tension was
Starting point is 00:39:30 like fun. Whereas like in the office or friends like you have one character like Jim in the office is like pining after Pam who doesn't like him back and it's like not really enjoy. I hate Jim and Pam. Okay. Well, I you're okay. But it's like not really enjoyable to watch because it's like sad for Jim. And like in friends Ross pining after Rachel it's like not really enjoyable because it's just like ugh like this is sad. Whereas in New Girl it's like enjoyable. It's like enjoyable because they both don't know it yet and they're flirty but they're no one's kind of heartbroken and sad over it so you're not uncomfortable and sad watching so it's really just the sweet spot and I think new girl really did that romance right and that I had a lot of thoughts on that
Starting point is 00:40:14 because I was thinking a lot about it right they did it wrong no they were just saying ease up because we're not you're not supposed to be together quite yet you know you're going too hard but that sexual tension and that chemistry season two episode 15 Connor I encourage you to go watch that because that is just how it's done when they finally kiss but it is just that show is so good
Starting point is 00:40:39 and Nick and Nick and just did it right no I think I do genuinely think what you're saying is incorrect because they did the producers said there was too much sexual or Zoe Day Chanel said there's too much sexual tension yeah before they got together well if we look at any classic examples they were trying to take it a little
Starting point is 00:40:56 slower. If we look at any classic examples, Jacob Lurdy and Joey King. They weren't together in real life, though. Yes, they were. No, Jacob and Joey were, but not Nick and Jess. I bet that they wanted to be, but they had to hold them so back. Well, here, actually, maybe, I didn't actually listen to the podcast, so I kind of don't 100% know what I'm talking about, but I'd like to think that I do as an avid fan of the show. Spoiler alert, if you haven't seen the show, they do get together, but then, like a season later, they break up for absolutely no reason. Like they were just so in love. It's because they were having sex on set probably. I swear, no, they don't think they were. Zoe was married.
Starting point is 00:41:33 So I wouldn't be spreading those rumors if I were you, just yet, Connor. But anyway, I think that maybe like they burned out too quickly or something. I don't know. Like, what else could they have possibly done, I think is why they broke them up so that they could go back to that, like, sexual tension part instead of the like comfortably together part. Well, that's a fascinating insight that they shared with us. that they chose to share with us. Yeah. And I don't know if my takes are right,
Starting point is 00:41:59 because again, I didn't listen to the podcast and I'm just pretending like I did. Yeah. But, which is a common theme of me on this podcast, I wouldn't take anything I say to, as truth. That's a good call out too.
Starting point is 00:42:11 Yeah. We're rarely doing background research. So these are just thoughts. Yeah. So please feel free to correct me as I am, or don't, or actually keep it to yourself. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:22 But anyway, that's that. Okay. Yeah. I'm ready to give some people advice. How about you? Yeah, I'm like, fired up. As somebody who has no idea what they're talking about 100% of the time, I'm ready to give you guys advice.
Starting point is 00:42:34 Now let's give some advice without doing background research. So we did get an email. We got a couple. We had a ton of emails. Yeah, thank you guys. And just as a reminder, the email, if you guys want to ask us anything or need some advice from two people who don't know what they're talking about, it's Dear B and C at gmail.com.
Starting point is 00:42:52 So we encourage you to shoot over an email. We got a we we we sifted through them and they were really good I want to talk really quickly We got a really Intense one actually can we start with my favorite one below So so this person wrote in and the email subject line was the kid I nanny sees ghosts Do you want me? Which obviously I'm open you're opening that email Right, of course, what's happening in here?
Starting point is 00:43:20 But she said hi Brooke and Connor I've been nating this kid for almost two years the family lives in a house that is over 100 years old. Since day one, this kid has told me about seeing ghosts in the house and have always interacted with them. And that's in quotes. So we don't know what that means. Don't want to finish a snack. Don't worry, the ghost will eat it.
Starting point is 00:43:39 Most of the ghosts were nice, apparently, but not all of them. Some had names. Others didn't. A few traveled from room to room, but most remained in specific areas of the house. The two ghosts they call by name are Doty and Maggie. the, I'm getting chills. The other day, he wanted to play with Maggie so he goes to the fireplace to summon her.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Shit. He screeches in terror. I feel like I'm reading a thriller right now. Hurls into my lap and shivers. I ask what happened, he said, I asked her, and she just looked at me mean and said, uh, and I know that that's the sound that it makes because,
Starting point is 00:44:17 because I, in the next line, in all caps. They make this scary blank face and make the, exact same fucking noise as the girl on the grudge does, literally verbatim. And I'm going to do it again. I've been keeping the parents updated on the ghost saga. They got curious and went back through the homeowner's records. Years ago, a mother and a daughter both lived and died in the home.
Starting point is 00:44:42 Their names, Dorothy and Margaret. Holy shit, what I didn't read that one. So, Doty and Maggie. So Doty and Maggie. Do you guys have any paranormal stories? you believe in ghosts? I... I have one.
Starting point is 00:44:58 I know. I didn't read that last line when I was previewing this message. I don't think I have any paranormal stories because if even one second of that happened to me, I would be running the other way so quickly. There would be a brook-shaped hole in whatever, in whatever door or wall that. I mean, I don't know how you've made it this far. Truly. I have somebody to say, tell me. Get the fuck out of that.
Starting point is 00:45:20 I don't know. Quit your job. Babe, I don't know what you're doing there. Like, DM me. I have a bunch of friends. I will come pick you up. Like, I have a bunch of friends that are nannies. There's plenty of nannying opportunities, especially in L.A.
Starting point is 00:45:31 Okay. I have a paranormal story. Tell me. So I used to work when I was in high school at this antique shop that my neighbor owned. And where I'm from in Texas, it's like a historic, there's a historic house tour that we have to do as part of our school agenda. We have to go house to house. And there's like, it's, there's just all this history. like all the the governor of Texas OG governor same Houston like has a house there that he's he's long gone but um
Starting point is 00:46:00 I'm working in this house and I would be there alone all day and I like like things would move like there was apparently like a mother and a whole family whose dad like killed the mom and the kids and then hung himself upstairs in the house and like there was one time when escape or which is like wooden wheels because he was just straight up like my neighbors was like selling stuff out of the house because it was already in the house it like rolled one time and it was like sitting on the ground like there's no one else in this house it rolled i i would carry scissors with me around the house like i'm going to stab a ghost wow yeah and then there was another time i wasn't there for this but apparently there was one time when like the curtain upstairs as he was like locking up like fluttered and all the windows are shut in this house And who reported the fluttering? Then my neighbor and then he's like okay well enjoy I'm like 15. I enjoy like being here by yourself all day. Like what?
Starting point is 00:47:02 I need the I don't know how you didn't run out of there either. I need the cash. I mean there's just no amount of money in the world. I needed the cash for four locos for the weekend. But I. Yeah, I know. And then there was one other time when there was a magnifying glass like sitting all dusty on a dictionary and it was sitting over the word.
Starting point is 00:47:22 malaria and when we looked up like the records for the house like I guess the dad had malaria and was going to die and he killed his family and then hung himself I feel it are you serious I may have it I may have I think I exaggerated parts of the stories but I may have I may have you made that up no I didn't make it up you made that up I didn't make it up if I call your mom and ask if you worked in an antique shop she'll say yes she'll say yes and she'll say I carried scissors around the house well I'll be calling her and I'll report back to you believe in ghosts as of now no
Starting point is 00:47:59 and I feel like I'm gonna be I say that and I feel like a ghost is gonna come right out and just absolutely have its way with me but maybe it wouldn't be so bad maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all are you talking like manscape vibes
Starting point is 00:48:12 no but I have never had an experience with a ghost and so I can only speak to what I've experienced and so I have not had an experience with the ghost because I'm not going to sit here and lie to you and tell you that there were curtains fluttering. But I'll believe it when I see it. It's supposed to be an entertaining podcast.
Starting point is 00:48:33 People are listening to this. Like, oh my God, is that? I know. I'm not going to lie through my teeth like someone. I guess that's what they call me fibs. When Connark told me that Joe Biden came out as bisexual the other day and it just like for no reason lied to me. She goes, oh, good.
Starting point is 00:48:51 That's awesome. I was happy for him. Yeah, obviously. I mean, he just photo dumped so it wasn't, like, he's clearly... Is photo dumping a bisexual trait? No, it's, no. I'm just saying like he's clearly... I'm really... I'm going to dig myself into into... I'll go ahead and change the subject so that we can move on. I mean, he's liberal. He's a liberal king. Oh, Jesus Christ. Okay, so we have another email from... We have another email from Janet. Let's call her Janet because it's a fake name. Do you want to read this one? Yeah, I sure do. Dear Brook and Connor. Get in there then. I'm... in. Dear Brook and Connor, how do you deal with a friend who only wants to talk about themselves?
Starting point is 00:49:28 I've known this friend for over six years and recently I've really noticed how little she asks or cares about me or my life. She often zones out when I'm talking and even interrupts me in the middle of my sentences. She talks down to me and our other friends as if what we are saying is absolutely stupid. I love and care for her, but it's becoming exhausting to be around her. I feel like I'm a side character in my own life, put here to listen to her. She's kind and sweet sometimes, but most of the time it doesn't. doesn't feel like she genuinely cares about me or our other friends. I am not a confrontational person, so I have just distanced myself a bit,
Starting point is 00:49:59 which makes me feel so guilty when she claims to miss me and wants to hang out. What would you do? Good question. And I think, Janet, this is something that a lot of people go through a lot. I have actually been through this. And what I have done, which I'm not saying is the best thing, but it worked for me is to hang out with this person and then bring what?
Starting point is 00:50:25 Nothing. I just bring up the issue when it happens. Like when you feel like you're not being listened to or when this person is just going on and on and be like, hey, like, I haven't said a word in like 40 minutes. You know, and then kind of just like, so that you have like a clear example of what's happening because whenever I go up to someone and like bring something up,
Starting point is 00:50:48 I have a really hard time thinking of examples of times that it's happened. So I think just like doing it when it's happening Like no one can kind of deny that And it's just like very clear what the problem is But I don't know what do you think? I ghost people like if they're starting new annoy me I'm not even talking I'm just like okay Yeah but if you feel if you feel bad about it
Starting point is 00:51:11 And feel guilty about ghosting her which I would too Because you know like some people have feelings That I think like bringing it up when it's happening is maybe a good way to do it or just like the absolute worst way to do it now that I'm thinking about it I think you'd be aggressively mean too I think you're like shut the
Starting point is 00:51:30 shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up you talk too much about yourself you can do that I've done that too I know you're not confrontational but I have a few drinks I wouldn't okay sure that's fine we don't sure have a few drinks and then say shut the fuck on
Starting point is 00:51:48 that sounds right It's like what I would do Either ghost them or tell them to shut up Yeah So again That is the fastest way to take care of this Again what I would do is Two avenues to take care of this
Starting point is 00:51:58 If you care about this person Want to be friends with them Bring it up while it's happening Because then I think that that's like Well you can turn shut the buck up Into a joke It's like shut up Yeah but then if you make it a joke
Starting point is 00:52:08 It's kind of like set the precedent It's a joke where it's like She's feeling really seriously upset about this Yeah Yeah Hope that helped Okay
Starting point is 00:52:17 Should we do Yeah one more. Oh, I like this one. Okay. So we got one more and then I think this is going to be a good one. I think so too. This one, the subject line was platonic male and female friendships. It says MF so it might be platonic motherfucking friendships. But hi, Brooke and Connor. I'd like to hear thoughts on whether straight men and women can have platonic friendships. And if so, under what conditions? My boyfriend has a close female friend who refers to him as her best friend. Snaps him every day and is yet to follow. me on social media. After over a year of dating and that I hadn't met until recently, when I did meet her, I was hoping she would be cool and put my mind at ease, but she instead was incredibly suss. She made a big deal of me asking if my boyfriend had told me certain stories and thanked me for not being weird about their relationship, friendship, not relationship, which made me feel super weird. I fully trust him and it's really not a big issue for us, but I definitely got weird vibes
Starting point is 00:53:14 from her. And it made me think back to my own friendships with men and whether I actually believe male female friendships can be platonic. I'd like to think so, but literally all of my male friends have had feelings for me at some point. Ooh. Poor, poor girl. Aw, that's hard. Sorry. Love you, babe.
Starting point is 00:53:30 Even my current boyfriend was my platonic friend at first. Thought you guys might have some opinions given that you are, in fact, a male, female, platonic friends. Oh, no, we hook up all the time. Yeah. Kidding! That was a joke. But, um, um, I think it's possible.
Starting point is 00:53:51 Yes. Most people know. Well, I think there's two parts to this. One, can you have a straight male and straight female people taunting friends? Two, there's something shady going on with your boyfriend's friend who is a girl. So, to answer the first part, can male and females be friends? Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:54:13 Yeah. Yeah. I think I definitely, yes, I think so. I do think differently about my male friends and my female friends sometimes. Hmm. Hmm. And I'm going to shoot myself in the foot if I, if I elaborate on that. I mean, no, not really if that's okay with you.
Starting point is 00:54:33 No, I agree with you. I think that male and female people can be. I think they can be friends, but I do think like. Two individuals can be friends. 100%. If you have self-control. Yes. I'm going back to what I always say is I don't hook up with your friends.
Starting point is 00:54:52 Don't hook up with your friends. Don't hook up with your friends. Yeah. So I think, yeah, I do think that a male and female can be friends. But that being said, I do like sometimes, like a day to day I'll have a, like one day I'll have a crush on one of my guy friends, you know. Yeah. And I'll just be like, oh, like Connor looks super cute today. And I, if I was, if my boyfriend was really, really close friends with a straight girl,
Starting point is 00:55:17 I would be worried that she or he are like thinking those things too. Even if it's like platonic, you're like you're going to have those thoughts. Yeah. If you trust him, you trust him. She seems like. And I'm like I'm not a super like I'm a pretty jealous person. So I don't know if I would feel good about that. I think most people like wouldn't.
Starting point is 00:55:34 I've asked people before like Logan. I've asked and she's like no. There's no possible way that is possible. I'm like, what are we talking about? Not everyone is like trying to hook up with each other. Right. No, I don't think people are trying to hook up with each other all. the time. I just think like inevitably there's going to be like if you're attracted to guys,
Starting point is 00:55:52 there's going to be those thoughts. I think like do you trust your boyfriend? Cool. That works. Do you not trust your boyfriend? Well, I don't trust this girl. I think she seems really sketchy. Yeah, that's the thing. And like it seems great. You're in a committed trust with her relationship, but she seems shady and I would be questioning like why is her friendship so important to you if she's so shady. So what's your answer? My answer is yes. males and females can have platonic friendships, but I do think it gets, there's an added level if there's a significant other involved.
Starting point is 00:56:26 What do you think? Yeah. Do you agree? Well, first time as her best friends, Saturday every day. How long have they been friends? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:56:35 I think that depends too. Like, my childhood friends, you know, like I'm going to be friends with them. Yeah, of course. You know, right. I think... But you're not... There's, like, a difference between being friends with them
Starting point is 00:56:45 and then, like, obsessively communicate. with them every single day. That's weird. Right? Yeah. I know there's something about this I'm not loving. And I hope that was helpful. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:00 I'm sure it was. I don't know. I don't think we really gave her any advice. I know. I think we were just... You got to talk to your boyfriend and be like, what is going on with this check? Well, I think all that matters is if you're comfortable or not.
Starting point is 00:57:10 It seems like you are because you trust your boyfriend. So that's fine, but this girl's clearly going through it. You know how many people's... significant others that are my close friends, I've been like, he better follow, you know, your boyfriend better follow me back on Instagram. Like, what is going, you know what I mean? I also think, like, if I were the boyfriend's friend, I would be super, super conscientious about, like, making sure the girlfriend is comfortable, you know, and it seems like she's not doing that. Well, I don't know if she's told him that she feels this way. Because he may not see it as an issue.
Starting point is 00:57:44 What I'm saying is, like, I also have a little bit of an issue with, like, when my first start dating someone or whatever, I'm like, this is a me thing too. Like my close friends are dating, like if you start dating someone, I'm like expecting to be in the loop, in the thruple. In the thruple, in a way. Yeah. We don't need to be together 24% but I want to be in the loop. All right, so we're going to do a new thing that we're trying it out. We're going to see how it goes. Um, we said last week we were going to start calling a listener, uh, just to chat and talk through some things. So we're going to try it out today. We're going to be calling Olivia. We're just going to chat. And I'm so super excited to see where
Starting point is 00:58:19 This phone call takes us. Olivia Sinous a message that said, I think you should give me a call. We can talk about career advice, the Nick Cannon taping I recently went to in my dating life in New York City or anything else. And I can't wait to talk about those things, Olivia. Phone calls are tough.
Starting point is 00:58:34 Phone calls are tough for some people. I hope that it's not extremely awkward between... Oh, I'm freaking out. Shit, we're calling you know. You say the first thing, okay. Hey, Olivia. This is Fibula. Hey, Connor, what's tough?
Starting point is 00:58:50 Nothing. So formal. Going by the hat, the handle. I love it. I'm kind of nervous. Olivia? Hey, Brooke. Hey, Olivia.
Starting point is 00:58:58 How are you? Lady Ephron. No, you can absolutely call me Brooke. I would really, I love that for us. Okay, cool. Glad we've made it to that level. You are just so calm, cool, and collected. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:10 How are you doing this? I feel like I'm so nervous to be talking on the phone right now. No. I'll be nervous, too. It's okay. Olivia, I'm thinking we need to bring you as a third host on this podcast. You just get it. I mean, guys, if you need me as a recurring segment, so be it.
Starting point is 00:59:28 I think I do. All right. I'm curious to ask, because you mentioned specifically my dating life in New York City. How is dating in New York right now? Besides brutal. No, it's fine. I just think I don't think I'm personally that great at it. just knowing you for five seconds i'm sure you are just amazing
Starting point is 00:59:53 so for me it's like i kind of will do anything for like the plot uh-huh yeah and like i just don't know like how serious other people are taking dating apps like i just say something and people respond like wait what and i'm like oh yeah yeah what was i supposed to say right well i'm a firm believer in like the right person that you're supposed to go on a date with is going to get it. Yeah. Because it's fun. Dating apps are funny.
Starting point is 01:00:22 They set jokes up for you. And whoever doesn't think dating apps are a joke and is taking them really seriously. Run. Yeah, I don't think there's someone that we want to go on a date with. Yeah. That's definitely true. Do you have any? Yeah, I just think, oh, go ahead.
Starting point is 01:00:36 Do you have any tips or anything? Tips of the trade for dating in New York? Oh, man. Tips for dating in New York? Or dating in general, for example. L.A.? Or just, like, going on a date? Maybe I'll give a piece of advice on what I maybe wouldn't do again.
Starting point is 01:00:53 Okay, I would love that. So I actually went to, like, an improv open mic with someone on a second date. And, like, to do improv on a date is just so crazy. Oh, you have to get up there? Yes. Oh, over my dead body. Yeah. I probably wouldn't do that again.
Starting point is 01:01:13 But I just think, like, I'm really working on. myself on dates instead of being like let me make sure this goes well you know what i mean yeah i don't even know how to do that i just feel like i kind of chameleon to like other like people i guess like i can be like oh let me adapt to like make this person laugh but instead i'm being like no i'm going to actually sit in silence and see how they react yeah which has kind of plummeted but i think it'll hit eventually it'll hit eventually yeah i think i feel like we've been conditioned to be like afraid of silence like I personally like
Starting point is 01:01:50 if there's one moment of like dead air I just start to freak out and just like yeah word vomit which is worse because I'm like what am I saying and those are the things that I'm going to be thinking about as I'm falling asleep like why did I say that so yeah silence
Starting point is 01:02:05 yeah anxiety like that yeah yeah just trying to not be that shit embracing the silence no you absolutely can and you can and you should. And shit, shit, shit. I'll just join you there.
Starting point is 01:02:21 And shit, yeah. And shit. Yeah. I feel like you've changed my life, not to be dramatic. Not to be dramatic. I'm kind of being a little fired up. I mean, she's giving us advice. That's, I think, what we should do. I think our advice is so not good, no offense,
Starting point is 01:02:35 that we should be getting advice. An advice segment. I don't, I, uh, advice segment of the listeners are giving us advice. Olivia, you've just unlocked it, babe. I'm curious, wait, what do you do for work? It sounds like you work. Let me guess. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:02:49 I think you work at like maybe a startup. No, she does not. No, she does not. Olivia's in. Yeah, thank you. Thank you. Olivia's in, are you like some sort of communication? Communication.
Starting point is 01:03:02 Right, like there's writing maybe. Okay, so in the ideal world. So I moved to New York like without a job. Nice. And I want to pursue like writing and like TV writing. Like I'd love to like write a sitcom. or something. But what I've tried. What I currently am is a nanny. Oh, nice. Oh, amazing. There's been so much nanny talk on the show today. Oh, really? You got to tune in and listen because, yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:29 No, I will. I'm a loyal listener. Oh, amazing. Thank you, Olivia. I mean, I just can't love you more if I tried. Seriously. Well, thank you. I feel like I should reciprocate that. Like, I, oh, no, I mean. I'll take it. You have to like really gassing me up. I'll take it. Um, well, you, we're, We're like our official first call ever on the show. Oh, really? Yes. I'm so proud of you guys. How's it going?
Starting point is 01:03:53 Well, I was super nervous to talk on the phone, but now that I've met you, I just want to call people all day. Yeah. I think you've set a really high bar. You really have. Well, I think the people writing in are going to be like kind of on the norm side. I could be wrong. I could be not wrong on the norm side. Like normal?
Starting point is 01:04:09 Yeah. Well, I feel like you are standing out as one of the most normal. I mean, you'd be shocked. Yeah. Wow. Guys, I need to, like, journal about this for a while. I, of course you journal. She's perfect.
Starting point is 01:04:23 Um, wait, bro. You die at this. Tell me. I had to break, I had to break up with my therapist. Because he legitimately made toast and ate it on our call. Oh, my God. Like, like, was thinking. That feels incredibly.
Starting point is 01:04:40 That feels so violating. I'm so sorry that you had to do that. And I'm sorry you were violated in that way. You're in so much luck today because this episode is brought to you by Better Help. I knew it's going to be. And you can use our code. You can use our code, Olivia. That's amazing news.
Starting point is 01:04:56 But, wow. I would recommend my therapist to you, other Brooke, but I think she's just L.A. base. So you could move to L.A. We could become roommates. We could see the same therapist. We could write a sitcom together. We could go on dates together. We could date each other.
Starting point is 01:05:13 I just love you, Olivia. Sounds ideal, Brooke Okay, cool I love that Well, Liv, thank you so much For your time I can't wait for this to come out
Starting point is 01:05:22 It's too easy But I'm, I just never want to leave I know, I know, I know Seriously I'm not talking you off I'm just Oh good Connor real quick

Well, I try to, I have some friends that do it, not naming any names, and it's just the same thing over and over. But I like pride myself on it being a bit every single time. You're really good at that. Yeah. So, like a little challenge. It's pretty funny. Yeah, but sometimes it just gets too much because if I get, you know, you have to do bits. I don't want to half ass it. But I love cameo. I'm going to turn cameo back on this week. Yeah, you should. It's funny. Well, thank you so much. yeah no problem well Olivia thank you so much

Starting point is 01:06:55 That was so fun. Wow, and that's good exposure therapy for me talking on the phone. It is. Yeah. So I would like to do that again next week. I would too. If that works in your schedule. Have you guys want to chat, maybe give us some advice?
Starting point is 01:07:10 On literally anything. I don't think there's anything that I don't need advice. I kind of need some money advice right now. So if anyone's like, does any financial type situate career thing, what am I talking about? I would love to chat through that. Maybe some good investment talk or something. And maybe some advice about just like feeling productive on a day-to-day basis. Oh.
Starting point is 01:07:32 Yeah. I want that too. And love advice and dating advice. And living like just like healthy lifestyle advice. I need to put my fitted sheet on my bed. How to put a fitted sheet on in the least painful way. Duvet cover while you're at it too. But I mean, literally anything under the sun, we will accept.
