Starting point is 00:00:00 This episode is brought to you by Prime. Obsession is in session. And this summer, Prime originals have everything you want. Steamy romances, irresistible love stories, and the book to screen favorites you've already read twice. Off campus, L, every year after, the love hypothesis, Sterling Point, and more. Slow burns, second chances, chemistry you can feel through the screen.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Your next obsession is waiting. Watch only on Prime. Feels like every product claims real protein these days. But real doesn't start on a label. It starts at the source. Like Real California Milk from California Farm Families, it's real dairy delivering high-quality, complete protein, with all nine essential amino acids to help build muscle,
Starting point is 00:00:51 give you energy, and keep you satisfied longer. So keep it real. Look for the seal. Real California Milk. recording? Are we recording? Girl quit playing. Are we? Yeah, I like that. Are we recording?
Starting point is 00:01:08 Girl quit playing. We're co-host. What are you saying? Very pretty. Wow. Okay. Yeah. We're in the stew.
Starting point is 00:01:39 So that should loop us up. That should loop us up nice. That should make us feel really great. Nice and smooth. Welcome back to Brooke and Connor make a podcast. You might notice if you're watching vision. individually. Yeah, we're sitting next to each other. In NYC, concrete jungles, where dreams are made of.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Yeah. There's nothing you can't do. I've had 18 songs stuck in my head at the same time already today. I mean, ever since I got here, nonstop, what would you do for a Klondike bar? My humps. You're going kind of a Napster mode. Yeah. What are those things at the bars that people, you put money into?
Starting point is 00:02:16 A jukebox. Not a jukebox. The new ones with like touchscreen. A modern day jukebox. Touch screen juke. Touch tunes. Touch tunes. You're going touch tunes.
Starting point is 00:02:27 Yeah. Just playing whatever. Yeah. I'm on shuffle. Whatever God puts in you, you're not in. My brain is on shuffle. Oh,
Starting point is 00:02:35 it's so frankly, and to be fair and transparent for the sake of transparency and for transparency sake as well, I have taken that again, huh? Yes. I've taken three weeks off. I haven't done a podcast in three weeks. I have done not a podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:48 I have done not a podcast in three weeks. Yeah, I haven't seen you. I haven't seen you. I've been on the road. You've been holding down the fortress. And so I'm not feeling like, I am excited. I just, I told you when you came in. So this does look like Martha Stewart's apartment, but it is my apartment.
Starting point is 00:03:10 It's really cute. And we did a little studio setup today. Yeah, I love it. This is not permanent. But it's nice. It's bright. We've got some natural light. I'm killing the rhymes today.
Starting point is 00:03:19 Like, you're touching. tunes and I'm M&M. Yeah, we could do some more originals, some original tunes similar to what was the, what did we open with? It was Justin Bieber. Are we a podcast? Yeah, we could do more of that
Starting point is 00:03:35 as we go if we feel compelled. We're recording, but girl quit playing. We're co-hosts. What are you saying? Yeah, I like that. Gass. Or goaded, locate. I once wrote a song to the tune of Justin Bieber's love yourself about a relationship that my roommate had struck up.
Starting point is 00:03:58 She one day went on Tinder and set like as a joke and I don't know why we were like, this is so funny, set her age to like 50 plus and was like talking to like old men, like 60s, like as a joke. And then it like slowly wasn't like. he came to the point where it was like this is no longer funny. Oh, you're seeing him at all. This is your boyfriend. The young man's name was Gene.
Starting point is 00:04:29 And I was like, okay, so what's happening with you and Jean is like no longer funny? And I did end up writing a really incredible piece about her and Gene of all things that Jean had said to her to the tune of love yourself. And maybe I'll share it one day. It was an awesome song. And that is the moment that I was like. like I think I'm a creative. Wow.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Yeah. God works in such mysterious ways. Sometimes involves, maybe sometimes God uses Gene as his vessel. Yeah. Oh, she almost did meet up with Jean. Oh, it was just a digital experience. No,
Starting point is 00:05:05 no, she did. Like, I mean, like she almost did as in like she did meet up with Gene. Was Jean, Gene be fucking? No. It was more. Gene be nimble. It was just like a coffee day on the BU in the BU Starbucks where I was sitting on the other end of the cafe.
Starting point is 00:05:23 And Gene did have a pager, a pager attached to his, his jean piece. Gene and his jeans were this page. Yeah. We're like, we're, we're proper, this is proper crack right now.
Starting point is 00:05:39 If you're from, I think, Craig. I thought it was Craig, but it might be, well, I just know from Nile from one direction always, no, it's great. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:47 What I didn't like, so when I was in Ireland, right above my toilet, because I stayed at a moxie hotel, which like... I freaking love the moxie. Is it the same moxie that's here? Yeah, it's the chain, the moxie hotels. For some reason, they sexualize everything.
Starting point is 00:06:03 So like, I go to the elevator and I'm about to get on the elevator and they're like, you want to take a ride? And I'm like, ugh. Like, I'll take the stairs. Thank you. My moxie isn't like that. Oh, you want to take a ride? Papa, I'm like, I'll take the stairs.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Thanks. I take the stairs up to my floor, third floor. They go, congrats. You made it to third. base. I was like, ew! That's odd and not, hey, can I just say, not all moxies. Listen. Okay, but it's always a moxie. It's not all moxies, but it is always a moxie. Yeah. And I get to my room, I'm like, thank God that's over. Finally, I'm in my safe space. Go to the bathroom. Go to expand, go to the, go to the bathroom. Right above my toilet,
Starting point is 00:06:43 written in like graffiti, what's the crake? Now, I didn't know it was Craig. I thought it was crack. And I go, are they talking about my ass? Oh. Right here above the toilet? No. Can we leave the jokes at the door, please, when I go into the sacred bathroom? I'm not saying this trip, but we should still go.
Starting point is 00:07:01 I'm down to go. You can hang, like, that's the thing is that the machis are open to the public, so much so that they opened one near my college. And we stayed there when I went back at some point. And I was like, why are there so many, like, college-age kids that clearly go to this school in this hotel? They were meeting women at the hotel. And I said, and I asked, I made sure because I was like, it seems something's, there's, there's an operation.
Starting point is 00:07:25 What do you mean they were meeting women? They were meeting up with, with sex workers. What? I don't understand the relationship and the view that you have of the Moxie because it's not, that's not my, again, that's not my Moxie. The thing is, now that I've said this, are E Moxie, like you are going to notice some things that are a little bit, Uh, moxie of the night. You're like, you're acting like the moxie is a brothel. Moxie after dark.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Yeah, that's, I promise you. Okay. Whatever. Go back and, and I'll go back. Let's go get a drink at the moxie tonight. I'll have a drink at the moxie with you. Okay. Um, and maybe we'll, maybe we'll notice some things.
Starting point is 00:08:07 It's like, truly, it's like the most wholesome special place. I would not, you know me. I'm not staying at like a sex palace. You're pure of heart. Yeah. I really am pure of heart. I'm so excited. You're in the city.
Starting point is 00:08:25 I really, I'm in the city. You're glowing. You're loving the city. I too. I'm like pissing me off. Yeah. Yeah. And I really like, are you open about like what area you live in?
Starting point is 00:08:37 Are you going to say, are you able to say like that I, are you, what are you going to say? What are you going to say? I was going to say what you're going to say. Yeah. And then we don't have to say like. Yeah, that's all I'm going to say. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:52 I really like the West Village. Oh yeah, I love the West Village. The East Village as well. And I love the East Village. And Connor walking here this morning from the East Village to the West Village, I walked past the Strand, which is my favorite place. I know. In NYC, have you been yet? Yeah, I sent you a picture of it.
Starting point is 00:09:12 No, you did not. What did I send you a picture of? Oh, Jonathan Larson Project. Yes, yes, yes. That's different than the Strand. Yeah. So have you been to the Strand? No, I haven't been.
Starting point is 00:09:25 Okay, you walk past the Donovan. Well, when I get, you know my favorite thing in the world is coffee table books. Yeah. When I get a coffee table, which I might go later today to Brooklyn, I am going to start going to more bookstores. You know, that's what I collect when I'm on the road. I go to, I find a bookstore every time I'm somewhere and I get a book from everywhere I go. The fact that you live. I thought you're about to say, the buck.
Starting point is 00:09:47 My words aren't coming out. The fact that you live 15 minutes from Strand is like, holy shit. Jealous? Yeah. And I popped in on the way here and I did buy something. What did you get? Well, I don't have any room in my suitcase. So I got a book that's 100 pages.
Starting point is 00:10:03 Cool. It's like a little piece of paper. That's beautiful. Yeah. Just like reminding me our e-book. I read, I read, I read Phoebe. No, you didn't. The whole thing?
Starting point is 00:10:14 Yeah. No. It was a breeze, by the way. You guys. It's not, not, you only, you had 120 pages. 158, I think. Oh. I could be wrong.
Starting point is 00:10:24 For some reason, that's, that's, a specific number that I, oh wait, maybe I got to the first half I read 58 pages and maybe it is 120. Okay. Because maybe that was like my halfway. Yeah. Did you end when it was like, who? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:37 Okay. You guys. Don't say anything. We're sitting here with a New York Times bestseller. No. Stop. So good. It is so good.
Starting point is 00:10:47 And I'm not a reader. I'm not a reader. No. You're just saying that because you're my buddy. No, I'm not. Connor, please. No, I would have, I would have texted you, but like, I read it.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Like, proud of you. I was like, Brooke, this is good. This is really good. You guys, I have chills even talking about it.
Starting point is 00:11:02 It is, I mean, it goes without saying, it is so good. You guys have no idea what's in store. Like, this is, it's real.
Starting point is 00:11:11 It's so good. Like, I don't know. It's like, oh my God, it's real. Yeah. I was reading,
Starting point is 00:11:18 I was smiling. I was like, this is so funny. Oh, Connor. And I need to ask you specific questions about it. Okay. Do you, here's my question for you.
Starting point is 00:11:25 Do you know where it's going? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. And I don't want to guess and be right. Like, I don't want to speculate. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:33 But I do want to, I do want to read it like ASAP because I'm going to forget stuff. There's like I have written more than a hundred more pages from where you are. Wow. Oh, I'm excited. But I'm not done yet, but I need to be done in August. So. Two months.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Yeah. Two months. I can do it. You can do it. Yeah. And then we'll have that. We should have like early copies to hold in our hands. That's so cool.
Starting point is 00:11:55 And maybe like September or so. Wow. For my birthday. Your birthday. Yeah. Oh my God. Early copy. Crying.
Starting point is 00:12:02 Ooh, that's so exciting. I went to the penguin offices for the first time, office, I guess, yesterday. And I had like, that was like my like holy shit moment. And I can't really cry because my antidepressants. But I did start, I really almost started to tear up when I walked into. That's a powerful emotion. If it's overpowering SSR eyes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:21 It was completely overtaking me. You said SSRI, take a backseat. I'm going to cry for a. Yeah. Good for you. I mean, that was so cool to you there physically. Hey,
Starting point is 00:12:29 thanks. I'm like, yeah, she's actually going to think you did that. That girl did that. Yeah. So I did a thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:38 And it was at, it was that penguin. I should not have had that Celsius. I'm like moving around like, I also, I was going to tell you, I have always felt like I have most of the opportunities presented in the DSM 5, I think,
Starting point is 00:12:54 which is a book that lists all the mental illnesses. I've had, like, quite a few of those in my dossier, but I've always been like, I don't have ADD or ADHD. Oh, God. And then I saw something that was like, if caffeine or Adderall makes you tired. I told you this. Oh, did you? Yeah, because someone, someone DM'd me and was like,
Starting point is 00:13:14 hey, if you're having adverse effects, like, that's just like your ADHD. Because I tried Adderall again, and I mean, both times I'm unconscious for, like, five hours. And coffee. I'm like sipping this now and I'm like, I'm getting, holy. I'm getting K-Oed. No. I'm starting to wonder. And obviously, like, I do get, I can't like necessarily complete tasks all the time, but it's not debilitating. So I don't know what's going on there. Could just be like, and I adverse, I adverse reactily to anything. I just like, anything. Something happens and I'm, I'm reacting adversely. Yeah. No, I get DMs all the time. I'm like, I'm on my second.
Starting point is 00:13:54 coffee and nothing's waking me up. Yeah. When that used to happen, it would just mean I had mono. But I could never not have my morning cup of coffee. Like when I don't have it, it's like there's no functioning. I have a coffee show now and yeah, the guy knows me. Wow. And he's not like overstepping the like, oh, we're buddies thing where it's like, let's hang out.
Starting point is 00:14:13 It's like, oh, Conner's here. Professional relationship. Yes. And do we dab each other up? Yeah. 100%. It's really a special thing. Does he know my order?
Starting point is 00:14:23 No. But, like, that's great because what if I change it one day? Yeah. And then he's going to be like, oh, I thought we, I thought we were doing something. Yeah, he's great. How was Hawaii, by the way? No, hang on. And, like, all the time you've been away.
Starting point is 00:14:36 Can I look up my notes? Because I started out. I started out. Whoa, sorry. I started, I started, I started, started a new note for our podcast. Okay. At some point I, oh, God. At some point, I just stopped.
Starting point is 00:14:53 writing. And these things that I wrote down at first, like, they don't matter at all now. And, like, I don't know why I thought they would three weeks later. Like, the things that we talk about on a weekly basis truly are so insubstantial when you look back at them. It's like... You don't want to talk about what you've been up to? No.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Well, I mean, now I'll talk about... I wrote down Vegas. Because we haven't seen you. I know. I wrote down Vegas. But I'm like, what was I going to talk about in Vegas? I have no idea. When were you in Vegas?
Starting point is 00:15:21 I was in Vegas for Jake's shows. After, so I was in L.A. We did the San Diego shows. We did the Phoenix shows. Yeah. And then we did Vegas shows. I mean, they were great. Like, it was super fun.
Starting point is 00:15:35 And then I just, I went to the AMAs and that was great. It was really cool. You went to the AMAs. Yeah, hang on. So I, I saw you were with Dylan. Yes. I randomly get, I get a text and it's like, hey, you're in Vegas already. Do you want to go to the AMAs?
Starting point is 00:15:52 And I was like, I can't. We went to the AMAs. AMAs, right? We did go to the AMAs. I get confused in AMAs and the AMA. Two years ago. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:00 Yeah. Oh, yeah. I was blowing my nose like in times that weren't appropriate. I felt horrible. It was while like, like, and we were on the on screen, on camera crowd where they like pan through and were clapping in Brooke. No, you had your nasal spray. Oh, I was hitting my nasal spray.
Starting point is 00:16:15 And it was like, and the camera would be passing at Brooke. And then it would pass by and like, oh, that's a tough. It was at the point, you know when, because I'm, you're not. not supposed to do Afrin because you get like really addicted to it. But it was at the point where like if I didn't do it, I would, I get it. I couldn't get any air. Um, so yeah, I get a text and it's like, you want to go? And I was like, sure. And I was going by myself. I missed the red carpet because I, I went to see Kenny Chesney at the sphere, which was the coolest thing ever. Night before, Jake had the chain smokers on his show the night before and then they
Starting point is 00:16:47 invited us to hang out with him after and that was really fun. So it was chain smokers. And the next night I went to Kenny Chessie at the sphere. And then we get invited to Dom Dala, which is like a DJ. And so it's just like boom, boom, boom. And then I'm like, okay, finally I'm going to sleep in. Like, these are such late nights.
Starting point is 00:17:04 And I'm not good at late nights. I can hang, but I'm not good at late nights. No, I'm not like, these people here in New York and Vegas, like, they're like, it doesn't matter that it's four in the morning. I'm like, it does. Four is too sharp for me. That's like, it's like Thursday or like the color orange.
Starting point is 00:17:21 Like, it's just like two. It's not like. You see purple? I can see purple. Yeah. Well, I'm like, I see four. I see past three and I'm like, oh, like I need to go home. This is, because this is tomorrow now in a big way. And so I had done that two nights in a row and I was like, I need to go home, whatever. Then I get invited to the AMA. So I'm like, I'll have an early night. See, we went to dinner and Dylan and Megan and hanging out. And then I ended up like going to the lobby of this hotel and I'm going to Uber home. and then I run into Renee and we hang out.
Starting point is 00:17:55 And obviously just like drank and I am, this always happens to me on my third night. If I go out three nights in a row, I am so tired by the third night, I'm waiting for something to trigger me to start crying. If I'm having a couple drinks, someone asked me about Max because he was my screensaver. Immediately tears.
Starting point is 00:18:14 Immediately tears. Was it just like a fan? No, it was like Renee. And I'm just crying in front of Renee. I'm just like, yeah. tears, tears, tears. And then obviously I'm like, I'm going to go home.
Starting point is 00:18:25 I'm crying about my dog. I'm going to go home. I've told you that before. Like, someone asked me a max. Yeah, yeah. No, I get it. Girl, winter is so last season. And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs. You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders. That perfect hang on the patio sundress. Those sandals you can wear all day and all night. And you've had enough of shopping for. your couch. Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope. It's time for a little in-person spring treat. It's time for a trip to Ross. Work your magic. Ready to soundtrack your summer? With Red Bull Summer All Day Play, you choose a playlist that fits

Starting point is 00:19:30 Obviously the next day I need to fly on a direct flight from Vegas to Vancouver. That's a long one, no? It is. It is. And it is across the board. It's like customs, immigration. I'm just like, this is really bad.
Starting point is 00:19:43 Vancouver is my favorite city on planet Earth. Do you remember a long time ago when I was like, When I was like, I don't know, like, every city that I've lived in, I like certain things about. Like, I haven't found like the city that's like all in company. I think it might be Vancouver. But like, you have no idea how cold that gets in the winter. Oh, maybe I'll just move there for two months.
Starting point is 00:20:05 You could get a summer cabin. Oh, my God. Is it like a cabin east? I don't know even like what. No, it's like East. It's like Seattle vibes. I never been to Seattle. I'm trying.
Starting point is 00:20:15 I don't know how to explain it. I guess it is the West Coast. It's the most beautiful place, but then it's also a city. Yeah. I'd love to go. So. I love to, I've been to like Montreal, which I also love, but that's like the complete other side of the world. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Canada's huge. Canada's big. Canada's, it's just like a mirror of the U.S. almost in shape and size. Yeah. And then they're randomly French. It's like, okay. Yeah. I.
Starting point is 00:20:42 Are they French in places other than Montreal? Yeah. Ottawa. Yeah. Are they French in Vancouver? Vancouver? I don't know. Does that's, I don't know. Um, now I get a DM from a sea plan company. And I'm scared of flying. But Jake's, um, manager Louise was like, I really want to go. We should go. And you know the sea planes, they fly, they take off on the water. Yeah, I'm not comfortable with that. And they land on the water. I'm comfortable with it. I go, you know what? Like I'm put on this earth to live, you know? I'm not, I'm not going to, not go on this. This is a once in a lifetime thing. I'm going to go. And Louise really wants to go. So that was like a catalyst for me to be like, who am I to like, we had time before the show?
Starting point is 00:21:26 See, I'm like I'm put on this earth to live. Like I'm not going to do things where I could die. Yeah, but you could always die. You could always die. Yeah. So I'd say putting yourself in a situation we were on a small aircraft. That's like really like Loki, like kind of asking for it. like you're kind of like being like okay come get me then god like so i have figured out my fear of flying and i think it's all attached to the fact that i'm a storyteller at heart i get i i i go okay i'm going to do this i go this is so the end of my life vibes so you're creating narratives the fact that like i've agreed to do this now and now i'm taking Jake's manager. And like this is, and then we go and show up and like, I'm looking around at the other
Starting point is 00:22:15 eight people on. There's some French people. There's a, the, the pilot goes, you points to me. When we go down on the dock, we're about to board the plane. I want you to sit co-captain. It's only one pilot. I go, this is so, this is so obituary coded, you know? That, oh my God, once you start writing the obituary. Well, no, I'm like, this would, we would, all of our pictures would so mess together for no bitch. And I was like, okay, hang on. This is all like too perfect. And then we get on.
Starting point is 00:22:44 He starts the motor. He goes, go ahead and shut that window for me. I'm shutting the window. And I'm just like, he does the safety thing. He shows me how to put on the seatbelt. He's turned around everybody. And it was clear that like, oh, there's an influencer on board. So we're going to do a little action.
Starting point is 00:22:59 He goes, hey, guys, we're going to do something special today that we don't usually do. We're going to go up to those peaks of those mountains over there. and I look, the usual tour is on the water. He's going to take us up into the mountains that are on land and the peaks for the highest point. It's called the lion's ears. I go, oh my God, we're going to crash. We're going to crash.
Starting point is 00:23:21 We're going down. And like I literally start shaking. Like I get like weak stomach. I go, that is 100%. You go up to the mountains and that's where you crash in the mountains. I'm so delusional that I think if a plane crash into water, it would go torpedo mode. just have fun.
Starting point is 00:23:37 You know, like it would go down and we pop back up. We go down and then we'd start floating. But like a mountain, like what's gonna happen? There's no chance of survival.
Starting point is 00:23:47 We go up. I filmed this whole experience. We go up. He's like, here we go. We are like, it is going like, like my stomach's in my mouth
Starting point is 00:23:59 and then it's down to my cheeks and I'm like, oh, we're gonna crash. It was the scariest thing ever. And then obviously it was completely fine and it was an amazing experience. But I was just like,
Starting point is 00:24:08 like, wow, I can't believe like I'm finally going to die. Finally. Oh, like I. Well, I mean, I'm, you know. I think you would just unlock like a new intrusive habit for me, which is just like writing my own obituary in different circumstances. We would die together. You know, that's so us.
Starting point is 00:24:24 Well, that's how I reverse do that on planes. It's like I look at somebody who looks like a really good person. And I'm like, this person is not going to die today because it's not their time. And so because I'm with them, I will also not die today. That's a good way to look at it. Maybe I need to start thinking, like, reverse engineering my thoughts because I'm like, oh, this person's so good. It would totally be like, God is not ready to claim them yet. Salt of the earth.
Starting point is 00:24:48 Like the good do die young. Yeah. Well, no, not this person, though, because they still have more to do. They have more work to do on earth. Like, yeah. Yeah. I don't know. But I was just like, oh, like this is, my time is up.
Starting point is 00:25:00 Like the clock is ticking. Yeah. Like that Justin Timberlake movie. Five minutes? No, in time. It's a fabulous movie. I really would love everyone to see. He's really obsessed with units of measurement.
Starting point is 00:25:13 Yeah. Why do you write like you're running out of time. Come back to bed. That would be enough. Name that show. Aglee. No. How many shows have songs?
Starting point is 00:25:30 It's a Broadway show. Oh, damn. You'll be back before you know I'm gone. I don't know. It is? Yeah. I really wanted to see. Happy Hamilton. Yeah, and with you as well and your family.
Starting point is 00:25:43 Happy freaking Hamilton, everybody. Ten years. I wanted to go see O'Mary with you because it won a bunch of Tony. I would die to see O'Mary. There's no time. No, there's no time. Speaking of Justin, this is just. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:55 That's sad. I had a scary thing happened in Vancouver after the plane. What happened in Vancouver? So. What happened in Switzerland? Name that show. Oh my God. It has to be Hamilton.
Starting point is 00:26:07 No. Nathan for you. Abby Hamilton. Sorry, I'm like filling up with like random pieces of quotes and lyrics. Also right now going through my head, come south of the border with me at Sharon and Camila Cabello. Yeah, it's a great tune. I love one of those two together.
Starting point is 00:26:24 I'm just like filling to the brim with like completely unnecessary words and songs. Sorry. No, it's good. What I'm going to say, I'm just really, if you can jump it at any point, this is not like an important story to share. I just was saying in a really nice hotel. and because we were all saying together, but then Jake and the team were going to Seattle,
Starting point is 00:26:43 and I was flying. Naturally, I was flying from Vancouver to Virginia Beach because that's my natural route, which is, by the way, other side of the, like Vancouver is on the west coast. Virginia Beach is on the Atlantic.
Starting point is 00:26:56 Exactly. So did that. That was a super long flight. But the night, so I go home and Nadel left the hotel. And I had just told them, like, this hotel is kind of giving me murdery energy,
Starting point is 00:27:06 but like via the staff. Like they are telling accomplices to like go into this room. Yeah. And the curtains in this room. So first of all, I didn't know what a turn down service was. I mean, now my brain's going, turn down for what? Like, I don't know what is going on this room. Turn down for what?
Starting point is 00:27:25 I don't know what is going on. No, literally. So I had this murdery thought. And then I go, I go downstairs for, we're doing dinner or something. We come back up. I was gone for an hour and a half. Come up. My bed's ruffled, like pulled.
Starting point is 00:27:38 the sheets are pulled down. I go, what the hell? And I look at my curtains and they're, it's curtains that cover every wall. Like you push the button and it closes every window and wall. But they're like this. They're kind of like curved. And so then I go, this is really freaky.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Like the curtains are closed now. My bed's messed up. I go into the bathroom. I sit down to pee. That's my God-given right. Do you typically sit down to pee? Just at night so I don't like pee on the ground on accident. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:06 No, I'm not at a 7-Eleven. I can't pee on the bed. ground in my hotel. You like to pee on the ground in 7-Eleven? Yeah, it's like where you go to do that. Nice. And so I am sitting there. I'm pissing and I hear a car, almost like it's in my room and I look out and a balcony
Starting point is 00:28:24 door that's in the bathroom that I had not opened or gone out. Why would I go to the balcony that's attached to my bathroom? It's wide open. And I go, oh my God, I'm not alone. I go out. I'm looking at all the curtains, all those curves on the curtains. I go, there's a man in each one of these. And that's like why it's curved because there's a person, I call security.
Starting point is 00:28:41 I go, you need to send some of your toughest men up here. Someone broke into my room. That's so scary in crime shows when they start shooting at the curtains because they're like, he's in the curtains. And then really they just put like pillows stacked up there as a distraction and the killer's behind you. I mean, and you got distracted by the pillows and the curtain. New fear unlocked.
Starting point is 00:29:01 No, I was fully like, I was like, there's a man in here. Like, get up here now. Boom, boom. And then I was thinking like while I'm on speakerphone, they're going to run out and slip my throat. And so I go on the hallway and I'm barefoot and I'm in my boxers. And I was like, I'm so sorry. Like I just locked myself out and there's someone in there.
Starting point is 00:29:15 Yeah. And they go in and they go, yeah, there's no one in here. And I go, well, the balcony door was open in the bathroom. They go, yeah, the maids left that open because of the smell. That's hysterical. Yeah. They left it open because of the smell in my bathroom. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:36 Which like that's where smells are supposed to be. I mean, come on. Come on. Come on. Also shut it. Here's my question. If you have a like holy shit moment in the restroom, like literally. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:51 And would you rather like close the door when that's done and you leave or leave it open? You leave it open. I agree. What about if people are over? Oh, you shut that day. Yeah. But then that's tough. You put the thing back where it's came from.
Starting point is 00:30:06 But then somebody's going to walk in and it's like the smell never cleared out because you, I would honestly leave it cracked when people are over. It's like a jar. It's tough in my apartment because everyone walks by the door to go down. Yeah, that's very true. Love your apartment, by the way. Thank you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:21 They were being, like, Brett was over too and you guys were being so nice about it. Really? So cute. I'm stressed about it. You shouldn't be. Because I want it to be done and lived in, you know? Like, I come back and I'm like, I don't have. Well, you got to stay here then for more than a week or so.
Starting point is 00:30:36 I know. I'm here for two weeks. That's good. That's like my longest stint here. I'm really excited. Yeah, it's going to be good. And it's like, it's so nice out in New York. And it's just like.
Starting point is 00:30:47 I like it here. Yeah. I like it here. I like it here. But like I don't, I don't care for the winners. Again, my ideal world will be being by coastal.
Starting point is 00:30:57 Yeah. Not there yet. But, you know, fingers crossed. I'm still very young. Explore your body a little bit of it. Very, very, very young. Yeah, well, you've got,
Starting point is 00:31:05 you've got work out here and out there. Like maybe it is, maybe it's, maybe it's time to explore. explore that. Maybe. Okay. Now I'll just keep going.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Jump in whenever. I mean, I could talk to whatever you want. No. Brooke, take it. Because I was just talk about Hawaii. You can talk about Hawaii. What's going on with your toes? Oh, my, that's black toe.
Starting point is 00:31:28 Why, have we spoken about black toe? We talked to, that was the name of our episode. There's like the other one too. The big toe. Just like, what's that, is that just a piece of skin? Fair. Where? Where do you see your, I need, I need, nothing.
Starting point is 00:31:43 My eyes aren't good, you know that. Oh, you're imagining my toe black? Why are your toe black? Um, oh, Connor. I mean, I don't even know where to begin. What about what? I, like, hit a, like, breaking point with my, you know, I've been crashing out of overhenge. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:03 Hit a breaking point was just like, I will, I'm just going to go on a date with, like, literally any one of these people. And just call it a freaking day after that. Because just like my goal with that really was to just be able to say like I went on a date. Yeah. That was literally the only thing I was wanting to go into this with. Right. Right. Oh, this is, are we jumping in a manifestation box right now? So I have now completed all of the little pieces of paper in our box.
Starting point is 00:32:30 Oh my gosh. Yeah. I did the damn thing. Yep. And there was, well done. Thanks. There was a young man. who just like we exchanged really no conversation. Truly like three back and forth. Where'd you go? Let me tell you something.
Starting point is 00:32:48 In our three back and forth. On the messages. On the messages. He said, do you want to get tea? Great. Or coffee at 7 p.m. And I was kind of thinking like, no.
Starting point is 00:33:02 Not right now, but thank you. But then I was like, what drew you to this young man? Literally just. Nothing. Just like the fact that I wanted to go on a day. I was like, let's just do it. And he was the first one that asked. And I was just like, I just, it was literally, I was like desperate to rip the bandaid off. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:17 Got to like a point. And I was like, okay. And I kind of figured like he just maybe didn't want to ask to get a drink. Because like, I don't know. Like maybe that felt like more serious. But I was like there will be alcohol. Like I'm not doing a first date without like a glass of wine or something. Yeah. But luckily Channing and Kat and Sodi, our friend. We went to the area and like had dinner first. And so I had like, I had a little glass of wine. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:45 And then I was like, I'll have my second glass of wine at tea time. Right. Connor. It was completely just tea. You went to a like a tea house? A cafe. Completely a cafe. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:58 Imagine like being. Can you go push the button that has a key on it? It's on the screen. And even if it goes dark, it should still work. like that's just like I if you had told me I had I did my first hinge date like completely sober yeah I would have said there's no way there was a way and it wasn't easy Connor wasn't easy I will say um when I would say on impact seeing each other me and the young man it was not a match mutually you can just tell like it's really weird people see
Starting point is 00:34:36 say like it's also not it's not love is blinds like you guys had pictures to work off weird i did he was cute like he's fine but like you can just tell like i knew right the way the way he was caring i knew he was not interested in me and i was feeling the same way and it was like just like a pretty awkward like hello side hug holy molly i mean there should be you should bring those balloons that they have in the youtube videos and just pop it and be like yeah let's go home i think like if what a waste of life we lived in a world where you could just be so honest with each other, again, on impact. I think it would have been a situation where it's like,
Starting point is 00:35:13 ain't going to work. Yeah, that's love on the spectrum, actually. Like, right away. Like, truly, I would, I think both of us, it really, like, was so, I could tell, like, he was not feeling it. Wow. Yeah, and I was also not feeling it.
Starting point is 00:35:25 But, I mean, I really, like, it was fine, totally fine conversation, like, felt more like a job interview. I was mostly thinking the whole time, like, thank God, I'm doing this, and thank God it's going to be over soon. And really like truly nothing to report. It was pleasant.
Starting point is 00:35:41 Yeah. And then like I was kind of there were points where I was like I would kill to be sipping on wine right now. I'd kill for it. So thirsty for it. I'd almost even kill for some sweet chili lime, Captain Morgan. Yeah. But yeah, it was so uneventful.
Starting point is 00:35:58 And then I think I kind of just wrapped up by being like what was really nice meeting you. Brooke, well done. Yeah. I felt like that was. really good. And then another, like, incredibly painful side hug. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:11 And then I was feeling like that was, like, a really nice person. And, like, I wouldn't be opposed to, like, doing something with him as a friend, even because he was nice. Yeah. And then he never texted me, like, it was nice meeting you or anything, which I was under the impression that's something that you do. Like, I was not expecting a let's do something again. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:35 But I was expecting a, like, nice meeting you. hope you got home safe or something from him, especially because I did feel like it was like a friendly meetup. Yeah. So that's completely tainted my image of him. Sure. And now I feel, I'd feel negative about the whole. Yeah. I think that's a good call out. Just like if you, if you are ever in a one-on-a-one situation than anyone, you should always send a thank you. Thanks for your time. I didn't send one either, but I do think it was a date. I think it's on the guy. I really do feel that way. Did he pay for your tea? Did you have tea? So I had tea. I'm not, I don't think like, I think it was kind of a, like, he got tea and a vegan cookie.
Starting point is 00:37:10 And I just, like, got a cup. Oh my God. So I don't think I got anything, but he might have paid for my tea. I don't even know. That sounds like my personal. And then I was panicking because I was like, did I say thank you? I don't even think I said thank you. And then I was like, that's crazy.
Starting point is 00:37:25 Like you just described purgatory to me. Yeah. It was like, I am, yeah. But he was a nice guy until I never got a text. I understood. And so that I've been looking at the date with like kind of more negativity than I originally did. But, you know, positive experience.
Starting point is 00:37:44 I did it. I'm glad it's over. I do not think that I will be doing it again via dating app. I did have kind of a breakdown. I left the place like smiling like, yeah, I did it. And then by the time I got to the location that my friends were at, my face had completely dropped. And I was like almost about to cross.
Starting point is 00:38:04 because I was like, that's what this is. Like, holy shit, this ain't going to work for me, champ. Uh-huh. And, yeah, I don't think I'm going to do that again anytime soon because I just don't see myself being able to fully be myself in a situation where it's kind of like a first date job interview type of thing. I'm just trying to be myself. I got everybody. But I don't know. Every time I say this is someone. Someone either says like, yeah, I totally get that. I see you meeting someone in the real world or someone says you just got to keep going. It's a numbers game. Or like you got to, you got to marry someone
Starting point is 00:38:37 with a wife sometimes or a gay man. You have to marry someone with a wife. Yeah, or a fiance or maybe even a girlfriend. What are you talking about? Oh, like one of my crushes already. Yeah. It's possible. Yeah, I would be, I've been thinking, I'd be really fine being someone's second marriage. I think I'd be a great stepmom too. Sure. You would. Oh my God. I think that. I really have thought about that recently. But yeah, as of right now, one, be doing, I'm not on Hinch. I have deleted the app, but I still have an account. And yeah, that was really it. It was pretty uneventful. I wish I had more to say. Uh, that's a freaking rap for me. Yeah, you did it though. Like, that's the point is that you like went out and you did
Starting point is 00:39:19 it and you did like that. It's like just part of dating. It's just like there are, it's flop. It's flop. It's flop after flop. And then you meet someone and then. I don't have it in me. I think also like as a like deeply hopeless romantic who like romanticizes this romance so much it's honestly like if i can't have that then i'm not really interested in that's fine like i've kind of come to terms with like maybe what i want is not something that will happen and oh well i literally i've been so after this date i'm like i'm just like it's all right i'm calling it i'm really calling it Maybe you need to explore New York a little bit. Because I do walk around New York and I'm like, I see more men that I could even just look swise that I feel connected to.
Starting point is 00:40:10 Well, also, you're walking more. And you're walking, you're seeing. I feel like there's more life to be lived here. Yeah. It's tough. I don't know what I don't know what my next step is in the dating world. Yeah. It's not another hinge date.
Starting point is 00:40:25 Right. And I have let go. Have you let God? I've completely taken the pressure off. I'm just like, if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. I don't give a shit. At least I have my imagination in my books and my cats. I think that's a great perspective to have.
Starting point is 00:40:43 I really do feel that way for better or for work. Give yourself some time too. And I'm not even just saying that because it's like, oh, when you stop caring, that's when you'll find someone. And like I'm not trying to force that. I really am done. I believe you. Girl who goes on one date and is exhausted.
Starting point is 00:41:01 No, hey, that's, that's real. That's real as fuck and it's valid. Well, it's like I'm pissed. Yeah, no, but you don't care as well. I don't give a shit. I don't give a shit. I'm mad though. I'm like so mad.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Don't give a shit. I'm mad as hell. Yeah. I will say he reacted really positively to, obviously I started like going off about Jonathan Larson. Yeah. And he reacted positively to that. And I was like, that was something.
Starting point is 00:41:28 That was a positive. That was sweet. It really was like not a bad experience in the moment, just looking back. We're getting like really mixed messages. I know. I'm literally, it's like one second. I'm like, hey, man, whatever. And the next second I'm like, I will die alone with my cat.
Starting point is 00:41:44 And that's fine. Okay. At least you're consistent. Yeah. Plan B is a backup birth control option that's there for you when things don't go according to plan. It specifically works after unprotected sex. and before pregnancy occurs by temporarily delaying ovulation.

Starting point is 00:43:00 I didn't have anything planned yet. And she said, okay, because I've said that before. Well, you did it this time. I have a new manifestation to put into the box. What? No, it's like, this is like make a wish thing that, like, truly it's like, I can't even tell you, like, my eyelash falls onto my thumb or whatever that thing is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:16 And I blow it away. And then I can't, I can't tell you this one because I wanted to happen really bad. And I. Is it career related? Yeah. Okay. But it's, it's unrelated to anything that you are thinking. It's a new thought that I had in the middle of the night.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Is it a new career path or an extension of your current? It's an extension of my current. How about you give me a hint? I can't. Like this thing, this really has to come. So how will you manifest this? By working on myself. But it's someone that I want to work with.
Starting point is 00:43:42 Oh, as a person. Yeah. And it's accessible. In the comedy space? Yeah. And you want to do something with them. I think someone's trying to deliver something. It sounds like it.
Starting point is 00:43:52 go for Connor that's perfect if we can can we go earlier at all making plans come back to sleep this meeting's at dawn well I'm going back to sleep it's my restaurant reservation
Starting point is 00:44:11 for later tonight and they're just making sure I can go Jake and West Best of wives and best of women what time I want to go there. At 8.30. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:44:25 No. We're going at 9.30. Yeah. Like, no. But it was really nice talking to you. No. Oh, okay. No worries.
Starting point is 00:44:35 We'll stick with, we'll stick with 830. Okay, thanks. Bye. That's something that doesn't work for me about New York. 8.30? Either, like, the dinner's being at 5 or 8. Like, do y'all know what 7 is? Brooke, nothing's available at 7.
Starting point is 00:44:51 Like, a lot of restaurants aren't even open at 7. They open for dinner. That's what I said. It's not going to work for me, champ. Listen, the thing is, like, a lot of people, you just go to 10 and you just sit there. Now, the thing that I hate is like, a lot of people are like, ooh, we only have a 930 table. And I'm like, okay, so I'll order by 10.30. The food will arrive by 11, 15. I'll eat, get the check. Someone's got, some dumb ass is going to ask to see the dessert menu. Or I'm getting him at one.
Starting point is 00:45:22 That's a smart person. I don't do going out to dinner without dessert now. I had, well, you're dumb in the first place for going out that late. Sometimes it's, sometimes when there's six people going and it's like, it's a birthday or something and like you're the additional person.
Starting point is 00:45:35 It's like, I'm not going to, I'm not going to be like, oh, I can't do that, you guys. It's just like, I'm not going to have,
Starting point is 00:45:40 I'm not going to have an early morning tomorrow. I'm not, like, it seems like it's not like a one off like birthday situation here. It's constant. People are, are clinical here. It is a little bit like,
Starting point is 00:45:49 we are not in Barcelona. I don't know how to like, we're not in Barcelona. We're not in Bartha. Yeah. So yeah. I'm on your side. It doesn't feel like you are.
Starting point is 00:46:02 I don't. My dinner, a dinner that I'm eating after dark, no, a dinner that I'm eating after 9 p.m. needs to be right there on my couch. That's not dinner. That's next morning's breakfast.
Starting point is 00:46:14 None. No, if you stay up like me, I've said this before. I'll say it again in the future. If I eat dinner, you know, with the sun,
Starting point is 00:46:23 going down. Like, like, now that the sun stays up so late, like, I still have my dinner at like 637. But then, like, I'm staying up till midnight. So, like, I'm like a Cocker Spaniel. I'm going to get hungry again. By like 10. Well, you need to eat at like five first. Yeah. I'm doing this thing where I don't eat my first meal until like 11, 30, 12. I can't. I'm like so nauseous in the morning. So you had me to eat? No, I can't eat in the morning. Oh, no. What does that mean everyone. Let us know in the comments. Actually, unless it's something bad. There's no point. Oh, Brooke, that pre-newvo place stamped me again. I'm going to do this full body scan. I told them no, because you've scared me. No, I text him. I said, I really kind of don't want to know. And they go,
Starting point is 00:47:06 that's how I'm talking to this person to be in the brand. And I'm like, I'm scared. I just like kind of don't want to know. And she's like, no, loki me too. I'm fully talking to the pre-novo scanner. Yeah. And it's like, no, loki me too. Yeah. And she's like, no, I thought that too. But then it's like, how much better of a feeling to catch something early if you do have that? And I was like, yeah, I guess like in theory, you're right. But like, I don't deal with that right now. You know?
Starting point is 00:47:32 I don't even have a dentist. No, she's right. I chipped the shit out of my tooth over the weekend. Really? Yeah. I was just. My tooth gap is so bad. And it's like, I don't.
Starting point is 00:47:42 Yes, it is. And it was so bad in my audible episode with Dylan. Oh, my gosh. That's all I could see. I reposted it on the TikTok. I really had so much fun. I love the guy more than life itself. I mean, he's one of my closest friends.
Starting point is 00:47:53 Like, my God, he's the greatest guy than I know. Yeah, catch me in his guest bedroom when I go back to L.A. Like, that's going to piss me off. We were swapping. We were literally passing Dylan back and forth. I was like, he's with you. Like, he posted me on his story and I was like, I had no books to see this. I mean, I must have responded after 52 seconds.
Starting point is 00:48:14 I know. You were like, oh. I was like, nice. Oh, so you have him today? Yeah. Well, no. Yeah, I know. We're doing a nice.
Starting point is 00:48:21 He didn't tell me he was going to be with you. Yeah. It was like divorced parents. Yeah. Yeah. He didn't respond to my last DM and I feel like I'm like pretty upset about it. I full blown texted him. I was like, hey, how are you?
Starting point is 00:48:36 I haven't heard from you. Because I wanted to check in. So I said, that episode was so good. Haven't heard from him. Want to die like Jen? But he probably, he didn't see it. He's so busy. He's such a busy guy.
Starting point is 00:48:49 Yeah. But we also have each other's numbers too. Yeah, it's great. We text too. You could maybe make a group text. Well. No, we don't need to. Well, we could.
Starting point is 00:49:00 But I want to keep also our separate relationships too. Just me and him especially. Right. Well, we do need to plan our diving trip. You guys, you boys have that. Me and him will have the book thing. You don't want to get sucked away into the deep blue? I don't want to do a bathing suit.
Starting point is 00:49:16 I've discussed that. Oh, my God. My stomach starting to, my. time I'm starting to turn. Burr, you disgust me. Ah, so you disgust me. Do you know what I mean? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:29 You don't bring Aaron Byr and this. You should see Hamilton. I would love to at some point in my life. You can go whenever. Do you realize how lucky you are to live in this city, in the greatest city in the world? I'm trying to go see shows. I'm reading Common Sense by Thomas Payne.
Starting point is 00:49:51 I, uh, me too. I, um, I, uh, I, um, I, uh, I can't remember what I was going to say. And it was like, gonna be good too. Damn. You could go see a show anytime. No, I am going to go see a show. Like, I have to fly across the country for it. I am seeing Sunset Boulevard tomorrow. Oh, what the hell, man? The last show I was going to go to. Every time you say what the hell. I go sit next to this random stranger and go see this show. Literally, you're not talking to your friends you go with anyway. So, um, and then I'm seeing Jonathan's show. That's exciting. On Friday, which I'm, I'm, just, like, holy shit.
Starting point is 00:50:24 So excited. That'll be great. Yeah. But anyway, the original Hamilton cast reunited at the Tonys the other night, which was just blew me away. It blew me away. And yet still, I was not satisfied. And that's exactly what Lynn predicted.
Starting point is 00:50:41 He's an Oracle. Yeah. I bet he has the worst BEO. I'm just guessing, but I just can tell that he's no. I like, he is like God to me. I'm really serious. LMM? LMM.
Starting point is 00:50:55 Wow. He's just like truly a theater kid who just reached like unfathomable amounts of success. I just remembered something. What? TSA took my bag. Because you're spray deodorant that happened to me. No. Took my bag in a really serious way.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Took a second TSA agent. They're whispering to each other. whose bag is this? I go, mine, they look at me, they take it to the private screening area. They dump sack. I go, oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:51:28 Like what? They go, do you have a firearm? I go, pardon? Do you have a firearm, they repeat? I go, why would you say, they reach to the bottom of my back, they pull it, they pull this thing out.
Starting point is 00:51:43 They go, is this a magazine clip for a firearm? I go, what the hell's a magazine clip? The thing that you put the bullet in. I go, sir, that's a harmonica. Why did you have a harmonica? I don't remember even getting a harmonica. They pulled my back for,
Starting point is 00:51:59 they thought I had a gun. It was a harmonica. Sir, that's a harmonica. Sir, I go, I'm sure, that's a harmonica. I go, do you, you should probably know what a gun looks like, man. Oh, Lord. So that's, yeah, I got my back pulled. I have to tell you, sorry, last like plane.
Starting point is 00:52:17 No, I don't even want to tell this. I'm done telling plane. Sorry, you guys are. Like, people are over them. Do you cry on the plane a lot? That's a thing. That's a study that they did. That's the only place I'm really able to like, let go and let God.
Starting point is 00:52:29 I was, I mean. Hysterics? I wasn't even sad. It was just, like, very therapeutic and cathartic on the way here. Complete hysterics. I enjoyed it. You have a, yeah, that's, that's like something that you could almost like, that's, like, healthy.
Starting point is 00:52:42 That was healthy. Like, that cry. You, you've had a monumental moment that you're visiting New York for your book, like your career is taking off and you're flying. That's like one of those like music video moments. That's a show moment, honestly. Yeah, that's sweet. Yeah, but I do enjoy crying on planes.
Starting point is 00:53:03 Yeah, it's kind of cathartic. It is definitely cathartic. Lots of things can be cathartic if you let them. I think that the best types of ads. Yeah. Like for example, the ones that are running through my head right now, because there is something like very serious happening today in the brain space, have,
Starting point is 00:53:23 are the ones that ask the right questions. Like what? What would you do for Klondik bar? Yeah. How many licks does it take to get to the center of Tutsi Pop? Facts. What else is there? This isn't a question, but the Kit Kat is good too.
Starting point is 00:53:40 Give me a break. Give me a break. I mean, that's just simply catchy. Break me up. Yeah, that's good too. Jingles. Whatever happened to jingles. We lost them.
Starting point is 00:53:48 Bring back jingles. We lost them truly after the recession in 2008. Really? The jingles, like, people were like, we're not doing jingles anymore. Remember she wore an itsy-bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka-dop bikini? Do I remember that? That one was so good. I mean, you can't really miss for me the beer commercial with the dog and the Clydesdales
Starting point is 00:54:08 where they just become like, I'll watch anything. I don't know that one. You put two animals together that are unlikely friends. Guess who's clocking in? animals. A tortoise and a hair. I don't know. Any two animals.
Starting point is 00:54:20 No, in that commercial, what two animals? It's a Labrador and like a Clydesdale horse. Oh. And they find each other in every life. I'm like, yeah, I'm subscribing to this. I love one. One's like an emu and one's like a miniature donkey. I'm like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:32 Bring back storytelling in commercials. Yeah. Bring back jingles. Ads used to be good and now they're just ads. That being said, please. I have a bunch that I'm about to post and they're great. What's that? That's my waddle bottle.
Starting point is 00:54:48 So wait, I want to tell you about Hawaii really quick. Yeah, I want to hear about Hawaii. Wait, there's really nothing. Went to Hawaii. Yeah. We did the shows. I signed everybody up for shark diving. Your carousel that you posted where you were shark diving and shit like that.
Starting point is 00:55:06 That was like modern day like art display in the MoMA. I thought. You what? Yeah, I commented that. Oh my gosh. It was like very pretty. Thank you. Wow.
Starting point is 00:55:15 Like that is the modern. day art installation. I don't want anyone to be alarmed, but I am getting a film camera. I'm okay mentally, but you should always check on your friends if they do buy a film camera. Something is, something's going on at home. But I'm okay. I just like, someone had a film camera. I think you have
Starting point is 00:55:30 the eye. Someone had a film camera and I was like, let's do one here in this area. I framed it. I think I'm going to start like being more, because you remember that one carousel I post and I was like, this feels so good on the on the body to like put something out on Instagram and be like, this is actually a
Starting point is 00:55:46 curated this, I edited these. It's like more, it's like touching that creative part of your reign. It feels good. Yeah. Yeah. And that's more of like, I am drawn to like color blocking and like color theory and things like that. You have the eye. That felt good. Thanks. You really do. Thanks, Brooke.
Starting point is 00:56:05 You are, you do dabble in the visual arts. I always forget that. Compliment City. No, I really, I do think that you should explore that part of your of your body form. I am. I am. Yeah. Good. I like that you're getting the film camera and everything like that. Yeah. Film cameras are like the acoustic guitars of this era.
Starting point is 00:56:26 They need to be used carefully. And guess what? You don't need to have it around your neck all the time. Like you don't need to bring it everywhere. Yeah. I think if you're going to bring your film camera around, like we all know you have the film camera, you don't need to bring it all the time. Like let it be a treat.
Starting point is 00:56:41 I like that. Yeah. Or be intentional with it. Yeah. I'm going to go out with my film camera. shoot some stuff. Yeah. Don't bring the film camera everywhere.
Starting point is 00:56:50 It's not a wallet. I agree. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think you don't, not every situation requires a film camera. You don't need to bring it to, um,
Starting point is 00:56:59 the DMP. Don't just use it willy-nilly with reckless abandon. Be intentional. I agree, Connor. I had like a spiritual moment with the woman. Um, I went and did my TSA pre-check interview.
Starting point is 00:57:12 We can act on a deep level. I'm sure you did. And I can't stop thinking about her. I'm sure you can't. What happened? We were just talking and chatting it and she was like, I want to go home so bad. And I was like, oh my gosh. I get that. I was like, me too.
Starting point is 00:57:25 Like, I want to go home. And she's like, well, you're going home after this. And I was like, I wanted to be like, I'll break you out of here. Like, let's go. There's nothing worse than trying to connect with someone through like complaining like that. Like, oh, I want to go home. Like, I'm tired. And they're kind of just like not giving that energy back. that's like a slap to the face and a kick in the nuts.
Starting point is 00:57:48 Like I gave you, I reached out to you. I'm extending this like, olive branch isn't the right word, but like this opportunity for genuine human connection and you're slapping me across the face. I had something like that happen so viscerally my freshman year of college that it stuck with me to this. What happened? I went on a date freshman year.
Starting point is 00:58:13 I'm sorry that happened to you. And we went to Chipotle. You didn't want to do tea? No tea. Sober though. Chipotle. And I was kind of like, yeah, my classes suck. Like I hate my roommate.
Starting point is 00:58:29 Yeah. And I didn't talk to her ever again. What was her response? Oh, I like my classes. Oh, I love my roommates. That's not right. I go, okay. No, but then I realized that was actually the point.
Starting point is 00:58:43 that I realize, like, no one actually gives a shit about anything that you're saying or complaining about. It's true, but it's just like the nice- Unless they can relate to it. Common human decency is just complain back. Like, oh, I know. Yeah. That's the least you can do. Truly, like, if you can't relate to it, at least I don't, like, be like, well, my life's
Starting point is 00:59:01 awesome. Because, like, I'm not going to connect with someone who's just, like, eternally positive like that. It's just not my thing. So I guess thanks for doing me a favor. But, like, it's not. it's not a match. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:17 Message received. Ooh, Izzy, where are we? Oh, nice. 66? Is this horrible? I don't know. It's just kind of a catch-up episode.
Starting point is 00:59:26 Wait, tell us about Hawaii? No, that's kind of it. Oh, you went shark diving and posted pictures in the carousel. Yeah. Well, how was the shark diving? It was the coolest thing I've ever done. If you're in Hawaii, if you're on Oahu, who if you want to go shark diving,
Starting point is 00:59:42 I suggest Island View Hawaii. It's a locally family-owned company. They're great. They're very professional. And they actually, like, talked. So Xavier's girlfriend, Fiona came with us. She joined us and she was like, she's Jewish and she's scared of vomiting.
Starting point is 00:59:59 She's scared of other people vomiting. She was like, I cannot be on there. That I was trying to think of the word. I cannot be on there for the fear of someone else throwing up and then I'll have a panic attack and I'll ruin everybody. time. Like, poor girl, I understand so deeply. And I used to be, truly, I used to not do, my life was so limited by a metaphobia. So my heart goes out to her. Well, so she, basically, I was like, listen, I'm not, I don't get T-Sick. We can go around. There's only our group and then
Starting point is 01:00:28 two other people. Maggie just did the ride along. She was like, I'm not getting in with charge. Yeah. Cool. That's fine. Went around in a circle. She was like, are you going to throw up, you're going to throw up, you're going to throw up. You're going to throw up. And everyone was like, no. and then we went out and she was totally fine. She actually dove the deepest down with the sharks. Oh, wow. She was like, I'm not scared of the sharks. I'm scared of people throwing up.
Starting point is 01:00:48 I get her like I get the back of my own hand. Yeah. I would rather touch a shark than throw up. They were like, you're going to be totally safe. She's like, I don't know how to say this to you guys. I'm not nervous about the sharks. Yeah. I'm nervous about how choppy it's going to be.
Starting point is 01:01:01 If I'm going to take or if someone else is going to get sick, and then she was totally fine. She's glad she did it. But they are very professional. And if you need to go out, Island View, Hawaii on Oahu. Okay. Okay, fine. I'm trying to think if I had anything else monumental that I wanted to talk about.
Starting point is 01:01:17 Oh, I want to talk about, I got a massage while I was in Hawaii. Okay. No, wait. First of all, I got acupuncture for my back because my back started hurting. Coolest thing I've ever done. You got the cupping, no? They did the cupping, yeah, for like they just added on cupping to help find my muscle, I guess. It's one muscle that's down and it's really tight.
Starting point is 01:01:36 She started laughing. She goes, this is the tightest back I've ever seen. And I said, like that shit. And what if it's really truly just anxiety in your back? It is. She said, are you stressed? I go,
Starting point is 01:01:45 always. I need a Xanax prescription as well. I also really think you should explore that. Ellers. Why can I never say it? EDS. Yeah. Everyone's been like you do have that.
Starting point is 01:01:58 I'm like, there's back pain. Yeah. Like it's just like you have so much of it that it's like might as well. I'm going to get a primary care doctor here. Get a P-C-D. Oh, I don't even think that they have. abbreviate that. That's just, I think you just always say, people say, who's your P.
Starting point is 01:02:15 Who's your P. What is it? Who's your PR? P. I think it's PCP. Pimeric care provider. That's a drug. Oh, you're right. Um, and then I got a massage in Hawaii to like loosen up after that. It goes silent in the massage room for about 20 seconds. And then I feel the masseuse on my side and I realize she had, she had, She got up on to me, like standing with her feet on me. And I was like, oh, and my face is in the hole of the table. And I am like, oh, she's standing vertically on my body. And like, she's so tiny. She feels like a ghost on me.
Starting point is 01:02:59 So I'm like, enjoy your time up there. I wasn't worried about it. I am not going to be like, what are you doing? You know? But she's standing completely still, like not moving just in one part and like my midback. And I was like, what's she doing? and then finally she dismounts and she went right back to the massage
Starting point is 01:03:19 like went down to my feet, my legs and then I'm like, okay, what part of the massage? I went out, looked at the description of what I got because I was like, okay, my back feels pretty good. She nailed it, maybe that was like a compression technique. I looked at the description, head, shoulders, knees, toes, whatever, like nothing about getting on me.
Starting point is 01:03:37 Nothing. And it described everything else. I didn't want to ask, but I think that she was just like changing the fire alarm batteries or something because there was nothing about her being on my bat. Are you sure it was her feet? I couldn't. I've never been more sure of something in my life.
Starting point is 01:03:52 And the fact that she was not moving, even fidgeting, makes me think that she had something. She was holding. Maybe she was activating a pressure point. I mean, I have no choice but to trust. Like I'm putting just like she needed to put her whole weight. I guess.
Starting point is 01:04:07 I don't know. Period. I don't know either. That's my guess. I can't stop thinking about what she was doing up there. She was just like vertically sanding on my back. Go off. That definitely happens in massages,
Starting point is 01:04:21 but I don't know about the standing stale piece. Yeah, it was a Swedish, do the Swedes get on your back? Is Swedes a slur? Someone will know. No, I think that's fine.
Starting point is 01:04:30 I said masseuse online and someone was like, massage therapist. I'm like, is masseuse is learned? Everything is. Good Lord. I don't know. I said that out of respect. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:04:45 Best not to talk. It's best not to speak. On that note, I do want to apologize for like just blurting into like such random jingles and songs today. There is something going on. I think it's like some sort of coping mechanism or just like not thinking and instead just like having songs and shit play and I'm not able to keep them in my mouth and I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:05:04 I don't. I liked it. It was great. I'm just sorry for everyone who didn't. Oh. But yeah. Anyway. Well, thanks for joining.
Starting point is 01:05:11 Thanks for coming and we love you and I hope you enjoyed this catch up episode. It truly was exactly that. And we'll see in the bonus. See you. Bye.
