Starting point is 00:00:25 Hi guys, welcome to Brooke and Connor make a podcast. Welcome back if you're a return customer. We have a special guest today. Just like such an honor given the circumstances. Yes. You know? We'd be an honor anytime, but especially on a day like today. I just have to be here.
Starting point is 00:00:40 I love you guys. We have Joey in the studio today. The thing about your last name, Joey, is like, I'm not going to say it. I can do it. I kind of need you. I can he go first because he's so afraid of it and then you can say it correctly. How about you correct him after he says it? I think I can do it.
Starting point is 00:00:55 I do want to say with last names, like, when I save people's last names in my phone, I want to look and see how I saved yours because usually it's just like, this is how I've read it on someone's Instagram handle. So like, this is your last name to me. And then you get to go to play with her like, you got to introduce on the podcast. You know, you still like, you know when like you start to second guess yourself in your head and I'm like, when Lizzie is on the podcast, do not say Micklepine. Do not say McElpine.
Starting point is 00:01:21 That's not her name. And then I get ready to say, I'm like, what was the thing I wasn't supposed to say? Yeah. Micklepine. And my last name is. Give it a whirl. Grazade. It's not bad.
Starting point is 00:01:32 Not bad at all. I would accept it. Yeah. Go ahead. I want to hear. Like grazade? Yeah. We have Americanized it as much as possible.
Starting point is 00:01:40 It's gratia day. Oh, I would never make someone do that. So we just say grazade. We take out the flare. Grazada. Grazia day. I like that, too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:49 It's, I mean, whatever you feel like saying, I'll answer. Sounds like Italian Thanksgiving. Gratziad. It is. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like you just kind of got my last name like three years into us knowing each other.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Well, you know my deal with last, I just explained my deal with last. No, I know. I know. I'm just saying it is, it is an uphill battle. What was I saying? Averick? Uh-huh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Yeah. But that's fine. Last names aren't easy. Yours is really tough. Let me see. Yeah. Let me see what I have your last name saved in my phone as. I have a feeling it's phonetically just very.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Oh, dude. It's not good. No, let me see it. What the fuck? Oh my God, there's an X and a Y. Yeah. Where the X come from? You had to do that before.
Starting point is 00:02:35 I can't believe that's real. No, I would not. This is raw. Like, I truly like, growing Goduxi. G-R-A-D-U-E-X-Y. I don't even know what language that could be. Hey, this is a legitimate fear of yours. I'm sorry for you.
Starting point is 00:02:51 No, I'm not. Last name blindness. Yeah, last name blindness. Yes, truly. Yeah. Well, that's why I always do like, okay, we have Joey G here today. Yeah. That's why I'm big on like the first letter last name because last names are hard.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Last names are hard. Yeah. Okay, well. Just really quickly. Yep. Before we let Brooke. I was actually, before we let Brooke out of her straight jacket. I was going to say, how about you start today?
Starting point is 00:03:17 Okay. I just want to say I was listening to NoCon on the way here. Like, have you guys heard of NoCon? Like, I just became a huge fan. Like last week. You just joined? Something. Great guy.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Really good music. Yeah. Wait. Have you guys... We played golf before NSC. I played golf with him. Yeah, he's the man. With who?
Starting point is 00:03:36 With Noah. I just want to say like for a young man to play golf with another young man, like, I'm trying to compare that in terms of intimacy. That's truly like... What could I compare that to? Second base? A summer's day. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:53 It's not like... Like, did I say intimacy? Yeah. You did. Oh, that was not the word that was meeting. Where were you going with it then? In terms of like... Well, there isn't an intimacy there.
Starting point is 00:04:03 It doesn't have to be sexual. It's a great way to meet someone. I mean, it was a friend of a friend, and I was playing with one of my friends, and he came with them, and great guy. Like, we had a great time. He's everything you would think he would be, by the way. Like, probably better. That's great.
Starting point is 00:04:16 As his number one fan now, as of last week. As of last week, yeah. Yeah. I'll figure out the metaphor that I was trying to connect from, like, golfing with another person to like something else which maybe I just don't even even if you're isolated with someone for 18 holes which is like four hours so like
Starting point is 00:04:32 it's a great way to meet someone you learn a lot about them yes well it's better than coffee too because if you like run out of things to talk about you can talk about the game and if you drink coffee for four hours you'll shit your pants and have a heart attack true but and you might also do that on the golf course I did that in front of you on the golf course but some people might do that some people
Starting point is 00:04:48 might I might be wearing white shorts um I was listening to him today and I was singing along so you're going to go far. And I was like, you know what's so crazy. A square is not a rectangle, whatever. You know, that whole thing? A rectangle is not a square. Is that in the song? No, but I'm just thinking, Noah Khan could have thrived in the lumineer years, luminaires, um, Peter, Bjorn and whatever, I can't think of, you know what I'm saying, right? Like, Tumblr years, Noah Khan could have had a career. Yes. But like, he's doing it now. He's doing it now.
Starting point is 00:05:23 Like that's a true testament to like artistry, songwriting, performance. Shout out Noah. And vibes. Thank you for share. I love when you get passionate about something. It's true. I mean, he's a very talented artist. And what you're trying to say is no matter what time, if you are that good of an artist,
Starting point is 00:05:39 you can do it. That is exactly what I think is trying to transcendence. Transcendence. I mean, I could have just said like he could be here every week trying to like decipher what Connor said. Yeah. Yeah. Well, then tell me what I meant by intimacy and call.
Starting point is 00:05:51 I think you were trying to say it's like the best way to meet someone. I think I got it. It is intimate. I'm with you. It is a nice way to meet someone. You just reminded me of my dream, which I don't know one gives a single shit about. Honestly, I just want you to keep going. Well, I had a dream that I had moved in with roommates again.
Starting point is 00:06:10 And then I had the Amazon people showed up to my door and they had offered me a choice between a new TV or a new set of golf clubs. And I chose the golf clubs. So thank you. That's my dream. To go off with no. I've never heard Amazon people give you a choice. They usually come with a package. Well, it was weird.
Starting point is 00:06:26 I was just like, well, I don't need a TV. This is just a dumb. I just, how are things? I want you to get everything you need to out. Why don't you just go ahead? I don't, well, I was going to, I obviously need to speak on DWTS. We have to. If I may.
Starting point is 00:06:42 I would love to know your thoughts. Thanks, Joey. Some people might not want to hear them, but I would like to give them. And Connor, I want to give you the opportunity. To speak first just about, how are you feeling about everything? I am a baby and had a cold and couldn't make it to the ballroom last night,
Starting point is 00:07:01 which is definitely for the best, I think. Just based off of the fact that I made four different black text, or black screen, white text, Instagram posts that I didn't end up posting last night? Can I read through your Instagram stories in terms of frames last night? I'm really upset. You were not there next to me.
Starting point is 00:07:21 I was read. to get the live commentated. I should have pushed through, but it really, like, it's good. I wasn't there because I want to be allowed to go back. I get it. I get it. I get it.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Yeah. You can read through, Connor. I was being very, I was being so good. On her Instagram, sorry. Yeah. Found a live stream. Facts. Next one is a picture of Riley and I.
Starting point is 00:07:43 They're amazing. My chest looks really good. Yeah. They're amazing. I'll bite my tongue until it bleeds. XX. Next one. Black screen, I have turned off the program for the time being.
Starting point is 00:07:56 And then a lot of frames of people's responses. Oh yeah. And then you said, letting other people do the fight for it. Exactly. Smart. And then I really shouldn't redo the rest. But you remind people to vote. And you know what's funny is like last night.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Me, POV, me biting my tongue by making 18 Instagram stories. But I mean, moral of the story is just like you're doing. exactly what you're supposed to be doing. You are, and I see a lot of people saying this, like you're the embodiment of dancing with the stars. Like, you go on and you just, you give it your all every single week, and you are a joy to watch, truly.
Starting point is 00:08:35 And I think, and you're better every week. And it's just, we're very blessed to be in a timeline where we're watching you dance. So thank you for doing that. Thank you for allowing me. And that's what I have to say about you. and I personally, personally thought that last night was one of your best. I think you could make an argument that was his best dance.
Starting point is 00:08:57 I think you could. If you look at the difficulty of it and what you had to do, the amount of content you had, I think you can clearly say it was your best dance. And you know that because you told me after how good you felt after. Joey came to dinner with my parents. Oh, that's really sweet. It was really nice. We got to debrief at all.
Starting point is 00:09:13 It was come. You should have been there. I know. I should have been there. I really should have. but what hurts me is I myself watched dance and said that's his best dance. I saw how excited you and Riley were. I saw like you had a big hug and just the biggest,
Starting point is 00:09:32 the smiles on your faces and I know that you felt the same way and everyone felt the same way. Everyone was so excited. And then it's just like spirit crushed. That's the problem that I'm having is like you have said so many times. Joey, you've said everyone says like this is supposed to be fun. And I feel like we lose that a little bit when the judges give their feedback because I feel like we're missing like active critiques and we're just like putting a damper on the fun. That's how I feel.
Starting point is 00:10:01 That was. Yeah. That was very well said. I don't think it was mean at all. I think for giving context on dancing with the stars, which maybe some viewers haven't known, you obviously getting you to the show. That style always gets crushed. It's very rare for someone to do a samba and then not to get critical on the technique. I think it was unfortunate that that was probably maybe the best you could have done a samba.
Starting point is 00:10:26 And I think they should have given a little more love to that. But you went after Amber did hers. And it's a hard dance. Like I got ripped for my samba. I was the only one to do samba on my season when I did it. And no one, I got ripped for the technique on it too. And Jenna and I had the same feeling you and Riley had. We were so excited.
Starting point is 00:10:44 We did it the best we possibly could. And that is disheartening. But the key is to keep smiling through it, which I think you guys did, because it was a really good dance for you guys. And sometimes having online presence after going to the comment section, I think you guys had like 3,000 more comments on your post than everyone else did because people are upset that you got underscored. That is sometimes better than even getting a high score.
Starting point is 00:11:08 We had the same thing happen in our season on the Samba, and then it just kind of lifted us up throughout the rest of the competition. So that's how you have to look at it. Yeah, that's so true. And maybe, maybe, like, maybe that's why they're doing it. I don't know. I don't know how, like, production works or the minds of the judges. But, like, maybe they're like, let's give everyone else the opportunity to just really lift him up.
Starting point is 00:11:30 I don't know. I literally don't know. I'm racking my brain and be like, let them, let's let us not do it. And let's let them do it. So, I don't know, man. I mean, I am just, you know, going in circles trying to think of, like, why my friend is not getting the scores that he deserves. but I will say this will be the only time I
Starting point is 00:11:49 respond in this sort of way I think that disheartening is a good way to put it just because the samba and it being like a harder style dance I was expecting them to be like like you did a samba you know like and there was kind of no mention of like
Starting point is 00:12:05 the level of difficulty of that dance and not having any dance experience and like coming into this genuinely like ground zero so that was kind of like oh but did you see the the dance you know like I know I know it wasn't my song I know it wasn't perfect you know like I'm not I'm not claiming it was perfect but like leading up to that I was just it was an uphill battle for the whole week I was like I'm not gonna learn I can't learn this I was sick as a dog the whole week and like
Starting point is 00:12:30 I was just it was just a tough week so for us getting through that the like joy was like oh we we didn't I didn't mess up the like technical parts yeah we're gonna keep going out there and doing you know like exactly what we're I'm gonna go learn the dances you know That's like that's all you can do and have fun doing it. And have fun. And have fun. That is the most important thing. That's why people are loving watching it.
Starting point is 00:12:52 You have no experience. Yes. You're having fun doing it. That is what it's all about. You're going to embrace it. You're going to wear a goatee. Like no one talked enough of, the fact that it didn't comment on your goatee was a mistake. Well, Derek did before giving me this.
Starting point is 00:13:04 Good. I'm glad. Yeah. It's, I am okay. The judge's feedback is not going to ever break my space. Like, it's not because when we feel good, you know, I, I beat myself. up more the previous week when that dance like
Starting point is 00:13:18 was the you know the ground hump heard round the world you know I walked off that I was like I messed up so many freaking steps like I was like so bummed and I walked off last night like I feel good about that and I'm my harshest critic of course and I watch I can't watch any of these dances back
Starting point is 00:13:34 I watched back last night and I was like oh like I had a little bit of a disconnect like truly it's me dancing and I usually I watch back and I'm like this guy's disgusting when I watch back my dances. I'm like, he's foul. I watched back last night,
Starting point is 00:13:49 and I was like, literally I am removed from that person dancing because that is not me. And I was like, oh, like, that was pretty good. Like, I didn't see any... That's all you can do. Dang. So, I mean, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:14:00 It's whatever. I think it's a good place to be in before you get into a dedication night. I don't know, can I say my dance next week? That is, we have confirmed that we can say. So next week is at Vini's Waltz. Such a good thing. Which we talked about last night.
Starting point is 00:14:11 It's just like, it's slower. I think that's what they want to see from you, too. So I think that'll be good. Yeah, you had the whole leading man thing. That's a dance where you're going to have to lead. It's slower so you can really focus on the movements. I think that was the hardest part of the samba. It's so fast that sometimes you get lost in it.
Starting point is 00:14:26 I think you're going to enjoy practice this week more. I think you're going to enjoy the rehearsal studio because now you get to do a completely different style. I think it's going to be your best dance. I'll put money on it right now. I think I see eights in your future. I'll say it. Wow. And this is the space to say that.
Starting point is 00:14:43 I know. I see it coming. Well, I love you for that, and I feel it too. It's time. It's time. It's time. We need to improve. It's glad to do for you.
Starting point is 00:14:56 You know, it's so embarrassing. Like, this gives me the ick so bad. Like, you guys think you saw my face reacting to the scores we were getting? I was reacting to how icked out I was. I was it like, I finished the dance. And I was like, oh, my God, we just got a nine. And you know what else is so crazy. I want to tell everybody this.
Starting point is 00:15:14 So last night there was a guest judge. I love him. Joe Buck. I love Joe Buck. Well spoken. You said it last night. What did you say about him being a guest judge? So it is hard to be a guest judge on the show.
Starting point is 00:15:25 It's definitely one of the tough positions because you have to, they don't know anything about dancing. It's very rare that they do. But Joe embraced it. He was short and concise because he was a professional. And the scoring of the guest judge is very clear, in my opinion. You have to give love to people, but you can't be sporadic. There has to be some type of strategy. He not once was more than one point above the next judge.
Starting point is 00:15:49 And a lot of times he had the same score as another judge. He crushed it. He was always the highest number, but he never went too high and he never was too low. He was consistently every time on the number. He was, in my opinion, the best guest judge I've seen on the show. And you could tell you really loved the show and watched it. Hey guys, we want to take a quick break to thank a sponsor of today's episode. Goodalls.
Starting point is 00:16:10 I feel like Macon Cheese is one of those foods that you can never grow out of loving. It's the ultimate comfort food and honestly, sometimes nothing else hits the spot. And Goodalls has somehow made mac and cheese even better. It has that same cheesy delicious taste we all grew up loving, but it's packed with protein and nutrients. I've been loving Goodalls, especially their single served mac and cheese cups because a lot of times I'm popping in and out of my apartment. All I have time for is like a 30 second snack. This is perfect. I love keeping them stocked at home because they're easy and they're ready in just minutes.
Starting point is 00:16:40 It's so much easier than having to cook something and don't get me started about waiting for a delivery. And my favorite flavor is Chetty Mac. It's creamy, it's cheesy, and it genuinely, it tastes very good, if not better, than just regular mac and cheese. And the best part is that Goodall's isn't just delicious. Their mac and cheese cups have 10 or more grams of protein, plus fiber with prebiotics and vitamins and minerals from real plant sources. Goodles is also a low glycemic index food, which means you get steady energy instead of that carb crash you sometimes get after eating pasta. They also have so many other great products, including regular pasta, their new twirley Mac, and even vegan and gluten-free options.
Starting point is 00:17:21 I feel like Goodles is the perfect combination of convenience and comfort food. Like you get something that tastes amazing. It's ready minutes and it has nutrients you can feel good about. I need to justify almost everything I eat, so this is like a good little snack for me. If you haven't tried Goodles yet, now it was the time. Pick up Goodles on your next shopping trip. It's available nationwide at Target and Walmart, plus many other grocery stores and retailers. And don't forget the single serve cups. Hey guys, we want to take a quick break to thank
Starting point is 00:17:47 a sponsor of today's episode, Rocket Money. I feel like one of the worst parts of being an adult is having to constantly keep track of where your money is going. Between subscriptions, bills, and all those random little purchases throughout the week, it's so easy to lose track of how much you're actually spending. And that's exactly why Rocket Money is such a helpful tool. I feel like subscriptions are especially easy to forget about. I have a ton that I look at when I downloaded that Star app the other day. I was like, oh my God, why is this $15? And I had to remember to go through the subscriptions to unsubscribe to that. And then I woke up there. And I was like, oh my God, there's so many. But Rocket Money helps you see all your subscriptions in one place.
Starting point is 00:18:25 You can figure out which ones you don't actually use and which ones you don't need anymore. And if there's something that you want to cancel, you can do it right in the app with just a few taps. I also love the idea of being able to see all your spending organized in one place instead of having you go through every transaction yourself. Rocket Money automatically categorizes transaction so you can actually see where your money's going and make smarter decisions about your spending. It's such an easy way to get more organized with your finances and start working towards your saving goals. Rocket Money is a personal finance app that helps find and cancel unwanted subscriptions, monitors your spending, and it helps lower your bills so you can grow your savings.
Starting point is 00:18:58 Let Rocket Money help you reach your financial goals faster. Join at RocketMoney.com slash B&C. That's rocketmoney.com slash B&C. And he had really, he just had really good and concise and kind feedback.
Starting point is 00:20:56 I love him for it. Obviously, that was my step. Bring him back. Yeah. I think so too. And then this is the last thing I'll say about the dance unless we have anything else. Oh, I do have one more thing. You say, you talk.
Starting point is 00:21:07 I just, it was just like a fun performance. Like, I literally went out there and I was like, that was the, that was the first dance where I went out. And I was like, let's just like show them our dance. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, we've been practicing this dance. Let's show it to them.
Starting point is 00:21:20 You know, like, it truly felt like, I don't know if you guys ever did this. Like, I think there was one year when Shrek came out. I remember being in Michigan with my cousins and we were in their basement. And we came up with a dance. And it was a lot of flips and stuff. Fun. But it was that typical like we have to, everyone sit down in a living room. We were working on something downstairs.
Starting point is 00:21:43 It's a big moment. Everyone sit down. And then we proceed to do a bunch of bullshit. And then we were like, so there, there's our dance. And that's what I felt like last night. It was kind of like, you know, we want our friends to sleep over. We made this dance for you. Can we show you your dance?
Starting point is 00:22:01 Yeah. It was truly just like a performance piece. And there was the, I will say, Every time I do, every time I take a creative leap in terms of facial hair or like the mullet, I do not get as much love. I've given you love. The mullet was incredible. The first week or the second week when we did the tango and I heard my hair,
Starting point is 00:22:22 slicked back, whatever, got a lot. I looked at my answering. You know, you have a little pop every week. I looked after the mullet week and I had about 20 new followers after the 16 million viewers viewed the dance. It's interesting. I'm going to go barefaced next week and just kind of my natural look. I think you might have to go even deeper. I think we need to do something that's a little bit more.
Starting point is 00:22:42 Yeah, something that's just a little bit more aggressive. And see how far you can go maybe. Ponytail? Mm-hmm. It could be good. Okay. I'll like me too. Fieny's Waltz dedication night.
Starting point is 00:22:52 Ponietail. So tell us the inspiration behind the ponytail. Maybe we have to wait a little bit longer. I do think you should be barefaced for the waltz. Yes, I agree. Serious Conner's coming out next week. Yeah. If you don't mind me.
Starting point is 00:23:03 I like it. What is your sweater? This is Peter Mular. Oh my gosh. My pop-up loves him. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Him.
Starting point is 00:23:11 He is the person. Yeah. Is he? I don't know. Has anyone ever met Peter? Is he? Well, he's got to be. Can we look up Peter?
Starting point is 00:23:17 He's got to be a person. At one point, Peter was a person. Yeah. Peter was a paper. For sure. The name, I don't think. What was his last name? What?
Starting point is 00:23:26 M-A-L-L-A-R. Two L's A-R. I feel like he's like a real golfers love him. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And, you know, he golfs with no.
Starting point is 00:23:35 Oh, I know that. I do golf. Oh, I know. You know what's a real guy. He's not a real person. Oh. He's not a real person. Why did they just, where did the name come from?
Starting point is 00:23:45 That's a wild business choice. Yeah, that's really good. We're going to name our company after a guy that doesn't exist. Kind of cool. He named the company Peter Millar because it sounded European. Okay. Me as. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Oh my God. This sounds European. Okay. I mean, you're talking to two people who name their podcast. their name. Yeah. And that was a placeholder and it kind of just stuck. Good you know.
Starting point is 00:24:11 That actually blows my mind. I'm going to be honest. I really thought it was a person. Yeah. Why would it not be? But I guess now we know. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Two more real, like, really quick things to say about. I keep like, look up Peter Millar. See if it's a real person. No, I know.
Starting point is 00:24:25 You're trying to delay me, but I'm really what I have to say is not bad, except for it is a direct message to the judges. What I have to say is not bad. but if you're any of the judges, hey, listen up, this is a PSA right to you. I will, I, you know, I used to be a teacher. And, you know, we learn that when you're giving feedback, you always, you need to start with one nice thing to say.
Starting point is 00:24:48 And it does seem like they're doing that for most people. So I want to hear a nice thing that you might have to say about my friend Connor, who's working really hard. So it's always nice to hear nice things. and then you can give your more critical feedback. But let's not forget about the nice parts. And the second thing, is that fine to say? I think that's very fair.
Starting point is 00:25:12 That's very fair, right? Yeah, I think so. Yeah, I wouldn't mind to like a little positivity sprinkled in. I'm asking an ounce. And then you can give your, then you can give some feedback. That was the first time I'm fully black. Like I literally was like, there's nothing worse when you feel good. And then you can tell from the judge's demeanor right away.
Starting point is 00:25:32 I clocked it with Dylan and I was sitting there. We were like, that was great. And I looked at the judge. I was like, oh, no. Well, the, like, there are good dancers and there are bad. That's what? That's, what? That's, wait, what did I do?
Starting point is 00:25:44 That's tough. I would know. Then you go in your head and you're like, oh my God. What did I miss a section? Like, I literally was in my head like, what did I do? What must I have done? No, and the playback that they played when they were criticizing. I was like, so tell us what's wrong with the playback.
Starting point is 00:25:59 What was the playback? The part of you doing the dance that I didn't see. Split screen. doing the dance, yeah. No, I, I know because they have slow motioned my F-ups every week. But what they slow-motioned, it was just, it wasn't an F-up. So that's why it was confusing. Like, they didn't say anything.
Starting point is 00:26:19 They didn't say anything. Yeah, I saw the first comment I read this morning, I'm done after this. I'm done, okay? Like, I'm done. Because, like, I'm becoming a masochist, and, like, I don't think I enjoy this. But, like, obviously, it does something in my brain that, like, turns. me on, not sexually, but well maybe, I don't know. We will find out.
Starting point is 00:26:36 Um, like the first comment was like, Papa, we love you, but and I go, baby. No, but. Let me take your phone. Is you block? I did. I had the amount of the end that I've been getting, please tell Connor to unblock me. I mean, I don't. No, like I am not blocking people willy-neilly.
Starting point is 00:26:51 I've asked for zero constructive criticism from anyone outside of the judges. Yeah, it's fair. Like if you hand it to me, you're supposed to be sending love to my comment. You have lost access. Unfortunately. come into my comment section and say, I haven't really been noticing any improvement. I know the exact comment you're talking about because I blocked her too. Well, you're gone now.
Starting point is 00:27:11 She's not allowed anymore, which is good. Yeah. Well, hopefully you learn your lesson. And maybe you can make a second Instagram account. And that is going to be difficult. Papa has to be led with positivity. Yeah. It can't be negativity. No. It's just, it was like, I haven't really been noticing improvement. I want to remind you the dancers are different dances. Like, you can't notice improvement from my past Samba because I haven't done a Samba ever in my life. I will say, I think moving forward, you are not going to get the same criticism you did last night.
Starting point is 00:27:38 I feel like that is different now. Like, you, that is the dance that on my season, I was the only one that did Asamba because everyone was afraid of getting ripped apart for Asamba. Samba is not a very common dance people do on the show because they know how hard it is to learn in a week. The pros are a lot of times afraid to teach Samba. So you're going to be in a better spot moving forward. I promise.
Starting point is 00:27:59 I pray. I made a pretty. Shout out to Riley also, by the way. Yeah, you know, like, she really is so amazing. Her choreography is so amazing. She's such a good teacher. And I loved how she got up there last night and was like, he's never danced before. I was like, awesome reminder, my love.
Starting point is 00:28:16 She got like, she got mama bear last night. We were talking a bit. And I was like. She got a mama bear. Yeah. I don't care that my mic's on. And I go, I didn't even hear what you said. And she's, okay.
Starting point is 00:28:27 Yeah, she's so wonderful. Yeah, she got mama bear last night. There are ups and downs. Totally. And you're riding the waves like a, like a press. I'm going to be okay. What week are we going into right now? Six.
Starting point is 00:28:41 So we're the halfway. This was where I questioned if I enjoyed it too. And I think you're going through that where it's like you're starting to get critical. Just keep having fun, dude. That's what you're so good. This made me have more fun. Great. I am having fun.
Starting point is 00:28:54 And like I am, you're not going to catch me comparing myself to anyone else in my season. There's no comparison. I truly came on with nothing. this is incredible like truly I am Spider-Man like this is like the stuff that's happened one thing learn the song in a week I was sick
Starting point is 00:29:13 I took a day one thing I was sick I went to Dallas for a day which like you take a day off of practice in this competition it is like taking it's like dog years you know like it's like taking an extended amount of time I went because of Dallas cheerleaders that's a once in a lifetime thing
Starting point is 00:29:29 that's a group of young women that are incredible to me I have to go dance with my girls. You know? Fair. Could have been a... Bad week to do it, but fair. Bad week to do it. Dylan said last night at dinner, he goes,
Starting point is 00:29:41 when I saw that you went to Dallas, I said, usually, you know, I hold back because I know that you guys are okay with votes. I hold back on reminding people to vote for Connor. I went ahead and posted vote for Connor in my story this week because I thought that you might need it. He's a good guy. Yeah, Dylan is so smart.
Starting point is 00:29:58 Like, Dylan is all strategy, isn't it? He is so strategic. Yeah. And it's amazing when you see like a show like Dancing with the Stars where you don't think of strategy. That man has, he has found a code. He has. It's impressive. He was last night.
Starting point is 00:30:10 He literally set at the table last night. He was like, Joey was good at dancing. I was good at strategy. I was like, thank you for saying that. But I didn't realize how much you thought through this. And he had a, I mean, he was telling everything. I was like, damn, like, I wish I thought of it this much. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:23 He's a thinker. That's why he won the traitor. Yeah. Really, really good. Exactly. He's incredible. I also, I forget, I was about to say something else related, but in terms of ups and downs,
Starting point is 00:30:35 I went to lunch with Ezra the other day, and I'm sitting in the car and we're talking, he's obviously like a ray of sunshine, and he's always like, he should be a, first of all, I'm saying, you need to run for office. Yes. You'd be a great bachelor, unfortunately, too young. How old do you have to be to be the bachelor?
Starting point is 00:30:53 It's just like, we would be weird to put a 21-year-old as the bachelor. It'd be a tough spot. I don't think there is an age limit, but, It's supposed to be like, obviously, serious about getting married. I don't, I wouldn't be serious getting married at 21. No, it would be a fun dating show. Fun dating show. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Yeah. It would be weird to put, and I don't, you know, he's, he's not reality. I feel like they could make a show just for us. For Ezra. They should. Yeah. I met him for the first time last night. I love him.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Mary Freck Kill. Oh. Wow. Yeah, idea on Netflix. Wow. Now, I'm talking to him about. It was really good. It was really good.
Starting point is 00:31:28 I'm talking to him about ups and downs of the show and I say, we're driving. I'm driving the young man. And I'm like, you know, man, like, I know you can't relate to this, but this season has been a lot of ups and downs for me. And like in terms of dancing, I have good dances and have bad dances. And I know that you, I mean, you've been crushing the whole season,
Starting point is 00:31:50 so that's hard to relate to for you. And he goes, yeah, I guess in terms of dance, it's hard to relate to. But in my life, I've had ups and downs. And I go, I almost crashed right into the pink one. I was like, oh, baby, I just shouldn't have talked. Yeah, here you go. Yeah, sure. Yeah, got it.
Starting point is 00:32:07 Yeah, forgot. Sorry. Jones on third. Four more minutes away. Yeah, that's hard. How do I continue? That's hard. But let's talk more about my dancing.
Starting point is 00:32:16 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But. For one. Yeah. But he is, he truly, like, I told him, like, you should run for office.
Starting point is 00:32:26 I don't know how old you have to be to be mayor, but like he could be mayor. there's no rules um he's just he's an incredible i don't think that's for mayor oh is there actually a rule i know 35 for president wasn't there like tv shows where there's like 18 year old mayor was that just a tv show thing or yeah cori in the house yeah he just lived in the white house oh why did he live in the white house because victor was the chef that was something oh here we go me thinking cori just rule one be a u.s citizen check oh wait is this for mayor be a registered voter okay not have been convicted of a felony blah blah blah not have served two terms in office okay okay so no age so are we starting
Starting point is 00:33:09 our campaign for as they're being mayor right now yeah like should we throw his hat in the ring and think we should we might be a little late to the ring right now based on how his fans are I would not be surprised if we saw an uptick in terms of like people moving to LA so that they can be a registered voter here that's a way to get people to the polls yeah yeah new pipeline dancing with the stars to Man. Dance your way to the polls. That's a pipeline we haven't done yet.
Starting point is 00:33:31 There's so many pipelines happening. Yes. That one is new. I agree. I have one last thing to say. Let's circle back one more time. And then I want to talk about Joey because I have a lot of things to say there as well. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:33:43 There was an edit I saw this morning of you, to the song. And I know you, have you ever seen The Greatest Showman? Love it. One of my favorite movies. I have not. I think I need to watch it. You need to add it. And I want to talk about it after.
Starting point is 00:33:56 That's someone who hasn't seen it. I think you would really enjoy it. Especially because now you're into this whole pageantry of dancing with the stars. Yeah, you are a showman now. It's one of my favorite movies. And there's this song in it called Never Enough. It's a beautiful song. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:34:11 I know what you're talking about. I cried last night. Someone made an edit of you to it. I mean, I literally, it's one of my favorite songs. It made me so sad. I put my hand over my heart like it was the Pledge of Allegiance. I was drenched and sweat. Can we watch?
Starting point is 00:34:23 It's like so emotional. I want to see this now because I love that song and I want to feel emotion about Connor dancing. Is he, it's in my reposts. It is at the top of my page. It's literally, it's so emotional. You already saw this at it?
Starting point is 00:34:37 I'm the only one that hasn't been blessed with it. I think because I remember thinking like, literally, yeah, that's the one where I look like being. Why? Talk about the goatee. It's like, hi, I was behind the 7-Eleven before this. This is what it's all about. Hey guys, we want to take a quick break to thank a sponsor of today's episode, Tumble.
Starting point is 00:34:53 I feel like one of the most stressful parts of having people over, especially during the holiday. is trying to keep your house clean when everyone is eating, drinking, and walking around. And the last thing you want to be worrying about when you're hosting is someone's spilling something on your rug. That's why tumble rugs are such a game changer. They're actually designed to be spillproof and machine washable, so you can have a beautiful rug without constantly worrying about ruining it. Which is especially nice during the holidays when you've got people coming over,
Starting point is 00:35:18 there's food everywhere, and just a lot going around, just a lot going on in the house. Tumble rugs have this special spill-proof surface that makes liquids beat up on top instead of immediately soaking in, like the coffee on my pants. So if someone spills a drink, you can just wipe it away in seconds instead of panicking about a permanent stain. And if your rug needs a deeper clean, you can actually put it in the washing machine, even the larger sizes. I also love that Tumble doesn't sacrifice style for practicality. Their rugs are designed in-house, so you still get that beautiful, elevated look without having to baby your rug. Plus, they come with a cushioned, non-slip rug pad that fits into hidden corner pockets to help keep everything in place. They're perfect for living rooms, entryways, or really anywhere in your home that gets a lot of traffic.
Starting point is 00:36:05 And with the holidays coming up, a tumble rug would also make such a great gift for someone who just moved into a new place, a recent got a pet. Starting point is 00:38:02 One of my favorites, Fabletics. I wear a lot of fabletics right now. I'm wearing like, they have great men's stuff. I don't even know what they want me to say. But listen, I wear a lot of fathletics. The shirts fit really great. The sweatpants are amazing. I have some shorts from them too.
Starting point is 00:38:15 I dance in them a lot. And the holidays are right around the corner. And it's hard. to figure out what to get for everyone. And there's always that one person that's impossible. And that's why I love being able to get a bunch of gifts in one place. And Fabletics has, like I said, so many options. There's essentials, there's workout clothes,
Starting point is 00:38:30 there's cozy stuff to wear at home, there's accessories. You can find something for everyone on your list there. I've always loved Fabletics because their clothes are genuinely so comfortable. But they're also really cute. Their leggings and matching sets are the kind of pieces you can wear to work out, run errands, or just hang out at home in. The quality is so good.
Starting point is 00:38:48 Everything feels really soft and supportive. and I love that their pieces are things you can actually get a ton of wear out of. I feel like that's what makes Fadletics such a good gift, too. You're getting someone something they'll actually use instead of another random gift that ends up sitting in their closet. Again, that's fabletics.com slash B&C. for 70 to 80% off everything as a new VIP. It's a beautiful song. Oh, that's really sad to me. Oh, it does make me really sad. It's like, it's devastating, but also like, it's, it's devastating.
Starting point is 00:40:16 It's devastating, period. It's, it's getting you in your field. It's definitely getting me in my field. I feel like I was you getting my judges score. Exactly. It puts you, like, I'm so high empath. Like, that's really like you're right there with you. in that. And so that is going
Starting point is 00:40:32 completely viral. I know. For a reason. It does. Like I'm genuinely being serious when I'm like, I am disconnected from right now. Like, I'm looking at him like, oh, it makes me, you know what I'm saying? You see like, we are putting a lot of work into this. You know, it's kind of devastating and like
Starting point is 00:40:47 soul crushing. You know, it's spirit crushing. You are doing everything you can be doing right now and just keep telling yourself that. That's all that. It's all it matters. All we do in practice is like, Riley reminds me, remember the judges said strong arms. It's week. Remember judges said, like, isolate your upper body this. And I'm like, okay, cool. So when I go onto the thing, I'm like, do that, do that. But then it's always like, you know, like, and I'm not
Starting point is 00:41:09 complaining. It is good to have feedback. But like there's no recognition for like the things that we fixed, you know, but it was what you said. But anyways, onward and upward. Upward and onward or whatever. Anyway, enough of that. Oh, man. We could talk about that all day. I know. But did you just get a cat? I did. Not willingly, but the cat distribution system, have you heard about this? Oh, I've heard. See, now you need to teach me about it because it's all that people are talking about now. I have not my two cats. I have two cats. Before I got my cats, I was like, I don't like cats. I'll never get a cat. Now I have two cats and they're like the loves of my life. I'm down bad right now. To give context of what happened, I was out to dinner with friends. Kelsey, my lovely fiancee, was at an event. And she, who doesn't love Kelsey? Yeah, that's true. She got home from an event and got dropped off outside of our place in an Uber, and we're in like a nice little, I don't know, condominion kind of set up, and there's a gate before you get in. And on the outside, there was a pipe. And if you go look at her Instagram, you will see the video. But it would, it sounded like it was like there was a pipe outside. Here it is. Look, it doesn't it? Listen to this, though. It doesn't even sound like a cat.
Starting point is 00:42:26 No, it doesn't. It sounds like a frog. It sounds like a frog. So you can listen on this. If you listen closely, that video is when she saw the cat for the first time and she freaked out. So of course,
Starting point is 00:42:37 she's a superwoman and goes and saves this cat, yeats it into a box. And I saw her kind of like jumping into the box. Look at her, lure it out. By the way, Brooke, look what she's holding to lure it out. What did she hold it? You will see in a second.
Starting point is 00:42:51 I want you all to know that I look like a crazy person right now. So. Like in the bites. I better get this. Is that a chomp? Also, the music starts right when the chomp comes out. The cutest kitten ever, by the way. Oh.
Starting point is 00:43:06 Yeah, she eats it. Where's the rest of them? Oh, baby. Go to the box. Box. Yeah, like, that's yours. That's a perfect cat. Oh, maybe.
Starting point is 00:43:19 She's adorable. We took her to the vet, completely healthy, like five to six weeks. I don't know how. This is her surprising me. with it. That's a girl from Louisiana. Wait, I haven't seen this. That is a girl from Louisiana. She said, let me put my rain boots on in my dress and get this cat out the pipe. Oh, she's perfect. She's adorable. This is me realizing as Kelsey taking a video, this is our child now. Did you imprint on her right away? I mean, look at her. And look at her. And look at
Starting point is 00:43:49 the ending video. This was the next day. And Kelsey just like knows. I'm screwed. Yeah, that's, that's your daughter. Making, making business calls and having a cat just lay on me. And I'm like, okay, now I'm, I'm hooked. So, yeah, we, obviously, that's the story of it. That's how our Saturday changed. My Sunday was just sitting watching football with my new child, and I'm obsessed with her. We named her. Everyone wants us to name her Piper because she was found in a pipe.
Starting point is 00:44:13 So now that's her middle name, though, because I was given one thing. Kelsey said, I can name her if we get the keeper. And I think human names are hysterical for a cat. So I named her Rebecca, and we call her Becky. So her name is Rebecca Piper Grosda, and she is now. ours. That's amazing. Rebecca Pipergrazzles. Maybe we could set her up with my cat Robert. Yeah, I would love that. Yeah, that could be really cute. Can we have a kitty play day? I think my cats are really good with other cats. I love that. I love. We need, well, we also need to do this. I'm finding out when you have a kitten, you have to like, there has to be exposed to therapy. We have to start getting her comfortable. I'm just trying to keep her alive right now. Yeah. That's just, worry about that. How old? She's like five to six weeks. My current fear that I'm trying to process through is the smell of cats. I don't want to be one of those people that get used to the smell and someone walks into our house and be like, oh, an animal lives here. That's my nightmare.
Starting point is 00:45:06 So I don't know if you have a way through this. I'm taking all tips I can possibly get. I don't want to have a cat smelling household. I don't know how to do this. So my therapist, I had the exact same worry when I was thinking about getting a pet. And she said something that kind of changed my life. And she was like, well, if you have a cat, your house might smell like a cat. and like that's just is what it is.
Starting point is 00:45:28 So I just have to see the other side. It might just smell like a cat and it's like that doesn't mean you're gross. It means you have a cat. Have they not? I don't think it smells like a cat. What do you think my apartment smells like? Your apartment doesn't, this apartment doesn't smell.
Starting point is 00:45:39 The last one? The last one did. It showed it. The last one didn't have a cat. Are you talking about my guinea pig? Didn't even have a cat. You're talking about my guinea pig? Yeah, that was, I was not at the one.
Starting point is 00:45:50 I shouldn't have had a gin. Sorry. No, that's fine. I shouldn't have an animal. I think, you know what? I might even be thinking about your apartment. There are, there are, like, people in smaller apartments that, like, I don't smell anything in your current apartment. I was asking, because your house won't smell like a cat.
Starting point is 00:46:06 I think it smells like a litter box. But, like, I think they make things now, like, your litter box is so clean. Well, you need to get a litter robot. The robot is the answer. The litter robot is the answer. Cats house doesn't smell like cats. And I also think that people, it just depends on if you clean the litter box or not. I mean, we are very clean people.
Starting point is 00:46:23 We want our house to smell. clean. So I'm just, I'm very, I'm worried. It's new. And I haven't really thought about that when I was, because she wanted a cat for a while. So I did think initially she might have put the cat in the pipe, but now I've gotten past that theory because who would do that? But that was scary at first. She brought
Starting point is 00:46:39 up the fact that she wanted a cat like a month before and now she just finds cats in pipes. This is crazy. That is crazy. But yeah, I just, I don't know. We looked. It was raining that night and there's like a little drainage on the curb. So I think it just kind of but it's, it's six weeks and it's
Starting point is 00:46:54 completely healthy. Like, how, how? How? I don't get it. Because there's so many things online, especially like on my free page that are like, if you do this, your cat will die. And it's like if you give your cat like a bite of this, a bite of this, and it's like, how are so many cats surviving in the wild if you're telling me
Starting point is 00:47:09 that every single thing I do in my home is going to kill my cat? I feel like that's also the webmd. Like everyone thinks we're going to die. But yeah, Kelsey wanted to put T-Tree roll on her, found out doesn't have the ability to process those enzymes. Could have killed her. I'm like, hey, like, this is scary. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:24 Everything online is really scary and of course, like, do your research and everything. But I do think it is. They're resilient. Yeah. They're resilient. And most things are just like trying to scare you. But it's also, you know, good to be a little bit scared. Avoid the stuff.
Starting point is 00:47:39 But we have a baby now. That's amazing. I think we've been poisoned as a society against cats because did you think for one second that like that cat was going to be as cuddly as she? No. You don't think cats or like that. I also grew up with cats and I lived in like a farmhouse and we had outdoor cats. and it was very, I think that was why I had a negative perception was the cats we had were probably fending for themselves outside all the time.
Starting point is 00:48:01 And when they were inside, they were sitting under a chair waiting for me to come by to attack my ankles. And I'm like, I hate this. Right. So that changed me. Now that I have an indoor cat that is adorable and cuddly, I can't wait to get the home to see her again. So I'm down bad. Yeah. I love cats.
Starting point is 00:48:19 I'm so glad that we have another person on the cat. Hey, I'll start. I'll start the movement if you need to. Dave Franco is doing a really good job. Have you seen anything that he said about cats? No, but I'm expecting my algorithms about to change fully. You're about to start seeing a lot. Dave Franco is advocating for the cat community and just kind of reframing the narrative
Starting point is 00:48:38 of cats usually being shown as the villains in media and he's completely flipping that on its head. He's doing great work and now you are. I'm a cat advocate now. This is great. We're so appreciative of you and your daughter and, you know, Kelsey and and welcome. Welcome to the community. I'm really happy to be here.
Starting point is 00:48:56 We're happy to have you. Was my dad telling you a story about our cat last night falling into a pipe? He had a whole story about a buddy of his that had to rescue a cat and pretty much it had no leg, no eye. A lot of things were wrong with it. And he pretty much told me if I didn't keep the cat, I would be an asshole. Because when a cat is given to you, so your dad pretty much called me out. And he was laughing at the fact that his friend called the cat Lucky because it had all those things wrong. Oh, that's cute.
Starting point is 00:49:23 It was pretty cute. Yeah, because I'm listening to Dylan. Dylan's talking to me through, but I'm hearing my dad, I'd be like, yep, one eye, one leg. And I'm like, oh, Joey, I'm sorry. And I, like, couldn't look away from Dylan because Dylan's, like, trying to give me advice.
Starting point is 00:49:34 Dylan's doing full strategy. Well, I thought. I was talking about one leg, one eye. It reminded, I was like, I hope he's not telling you this story because it came to me last night. There was one time we were coming back. I was in our, like, outside of our little town in Texas,
Starting point is 00:49:47 and we're coming back and we're leaving church, and I think my parents were feeling like, good Samaritan vibe. And they were like, let's pick those people up they're on the side of the road and they were in all black and they got in and they smelled
Starting point is 00:50:00 hmm like my old apartment no like sharp it was like sharp cheddar but it was like foul it was making everyone we couldn't talk you it was like you couldn't breathe out of your nose
Starting point is 00:50:18 because of the smell but you couldn't breathe in your mouth because you could taste them and then they pretty quickly let us know that they were witches and you just pick the Yeah, we had 20 minutes in the car
Starting point is 00:50:29 And it was not a three row type of car It was more of just two rows So I was in the middle And there was one witch on one side And a witch on the other side of me Explaining me to witch Oh, they were Wiccans, I'm sorry, not witches What's the difference?
Starting point is 00:50:45 Izzy, can we look up the Google version of Witches versus Wiccans? I don't want to speak to any community It is a very good question. It's good to know They're very different, I guess Wiccett is a model earth-based religion while witchcraft is practical craft of energy and spells.
Starting point is 00:51:02 Well, wikins may practice witchcraft and consider themselves witches. Not okay, another square versus rectangle situation. I like this last line. Not all witches are wikins. That sounds like a bumper sticker. But all wikins are witches? I think so. If you practice witchcraft, you're a witch.
Starting point is 00:51:20 But you can be a wikin. I don't get this. Can we look up? Do wikins need to smell? No. Do Wiccans smell of sharp cheddar? What do Wiccans smell like? Do they do magic?
Starting point is 00:51:32 That's my question. This would be cr- No, Wiggins do not smell like cheddar. Wiccans are people who practice a modern. Okay, well, I am going to get in trouble for that. And they do cast spells. And they smell like any other human being depending on the soap.
Starting point is 00:51:46 If there's a group I do not want coming after me, it's the Wiccans. You should clear the up now. Sorry to the Wiccans. I'm sorry. That's a bad group to have come after you. How do we get here again? So I was going to say, I was going to say, so we adopted our cat from a barn.
Starting point is 00:52:01 And it was an outdoor cat and it did not want to be inside. So we had an outdoor cat and it fell into a hole. And to get it out of the hole and it was a deep, deep hole. We had to put like a plank of a long two by four down and it crawled up the wood. And it's amazing that cats can just like, he crawls out and just leaves. No, thank you. Just out. And it would catch fish out of the lake and it would kill snakes because there was a lot of snakes in Texas where we were from.
Starting point is 00:52:23 And the other day, I'm walking through Santa Monica. and I hear a rustling in a trash can. And it's in an area of Santa Monica in the Palisades Park right up where the cliff is. And I was on a walk and it was kind of sunset. And I'm like, there's a lot of ground squirrels there. And they're very friendly, these ground squirrels. They will eat out of your hand and stuff. And I'm like, oh my gosh, there's a ground squirrel in the trash can.
Starting point is 00:52:46 I need to help it. So I go and I look in the trash can like this. And it's two rats. And they're in a deep trash can. And I'm like, and they're trying to get out. I like rats. I do too. And like you're not going to be, you're not going to.
Starting point is 00:53:04 It's the tail that's the problem. The tail is definitely the problem. What movie was it where they lit the bucket on fire on someone and the rat ate through them? Was that fast and furious? Oh my God, I haven't seen that. That was why I don't like rats. That would be hard to see. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:17 They like, they like made it eat through the purse. Yeah. Oh, that's, well, I haven't seen that so I like rats. Okay, that's fair. Yeah. I have reason. Yeah, you have a completely valid reason. So I do, you know, I have a.
Starting point is 00:53:27 I have that thing. I just feel bad for them because it's like what makes them different than like a squirrel. Or a mess of their tail and their teeth and the fact that they eat garbage. A few of those squirrels eat garbage, right? I don't know. I feel like they eat nuts. Yeah. I bet a rat would like a nut if we gave it to them.
Starting point is 00:53:42 Maybe it just got the wrong territory. I just think they're kind of missed. I bet like in a few years we're going to have the experience with rats that people have I think you guys are being a little classist towards rodents. I just, I'm not a rodent guy. Oh, you are advocate. You're advocate. She wants to be, she wants to start the campaign.
Starting point is 00:53:57 like cats, I'm going to be on the other side. I don't think I'm joining this group. I wish you the best of luck. But we need to know what Connor did with these facts. I think good. Good to circle back to that. So all of a sudden, suddenly and all at once, I'm flooded with the memory of the cat in the hole.
Starting point is 00:54:12 Not to be confused with the cat in the hat. The cat in the hole. And I'm like, okay, I need to find a tool for them to use. Miska, Muska, Mickey Mouse. I need to make them a ramp or something to get out. And I walk, grace of God. I find a bunch of cardboard kind of just on top of another trash can. So I roll it up kind of like a like this, this long.
Starting point is 00:54:34 And I walk up to the trash can to put it in. And at that moment, I start to slide it in. The rats jump out and at me, both of them. They were not trapped at all. They were completely hustling me. That's their home base. They were totally fine. They were fine in the trash can.
Starting point is 00:54:50 FML. They almost got my leg. I was like, oh my God. I have a video of it. I'll show it to you after. Please show me. because that's one of my biggest fears is rats. I'm not a fan of rats and raccoons.
Starting point is 00:55:02 I don't mess with either of them. Raccoons do scare me a little bit. Yeah, I can't do raccoons. They kind of are like monsters. They are. A little bit. Like they look like if they're the closest animal to them. Don't they have thumbs?
Starting point is 00:55:13 Yeah. Not a fan. Or I don't know. I think they have thumbs. Probably. I don't know. They do scare me a little bit raccoons. But I bet if I knew one as a baby.
Starting point is 00:55:22 You were about saying met one? And I met one as a baby and it grew up with me. I bet I could love it. domesticated. If I, I think anything, if I domesticated it, I would, could fall in a bit. See, the whole issue with raccoons comes back to cats with me. We had outdoor cats. I'm taking out the trash at night.
Starting point is 00:55:40 I feel something brush up against my leg. I go down to pet it. And it was like that scene in elf where the raccoon gets up on all fours and hisses at you. Yeah. Thought it was my cat, was a raccoon. Hate raccoon. Yeah. Did it get you?
Starting point is 00:55:53 No, I ran like a little girl. They can give you rabies. Yeah, that's scary. But rats are just so small. It's like they can't hurt you. They're quick on their feet. Yeah. Oh, I had that happen.
Starting point is 00:56:03 Except with the possum. I have questions for jelly. That's on the rodent. No, they're actually docile. I think they don't carry real. We're domesticating too many things. I have questions for you. Yeah, we should.
Starting point is 00:56:15 Sorry, yeah, I like getting off engines. We don't have to need to. Let's bring it back rodents. No, no. All good, I love tannins, but like while you're here. Yes. You just finished filming traitors. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:26 Yeah, sorry. Like, what can we even say? I mean, honestly, right now, I just, you need to tune in. Okay. It was so much fun, so hard, so different than what I thought it would be. You know, it's like one of those shows when you watch and you like, are like, oh, yeah, those, how are they not figuring this out, this and that? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:44 Just watched. It's, it's so hard. And now I have such a newfound respect for it, but I loved the cast. Everyone was amazing. It was a ton of fun. Wow. I think everyone should tune in. It's so good.
Starting point is 00:56:56 I'm ready for good. TV. It's good, good TV. And I can't wait to watch. Like, it's one of those things I can't wait to see it again, because I want to relive it. I'm going to say it must be hard. Like, you have lived this experience and it's filmed and it's such a big part of your life and now you just have to wait for it to come out. This is my third time dealing with that. So I'm doing now. I did Bachelorette, Bachelor and Traders, the delayed taping. It's a nice part about dancing is you get to feel it immediately. Yeah. Delay tapings are tough, but third time's a charm. Yeah. The charm. Do you get worried about like what edit you're going to get?
Starting point is 00:57:26 Always. Yeah, I mean, it's like, pretty much the way to think about it when you do a delay taping show like that is everything you do is a drop in the bucket of all the footage. So you just have to wait to see what's actually being shown. And you could have memories of certain parts, but then it's like, how does it look? Because it can be from anyone's eyes. And that's the tough part. But I also love it because you get to re-experience it and get to see it from the eyes that they decide to show. And I think that's also one of the more fun parts of it. Are you? You're in Scotland. Are you guys straight up filming every single day? There's pretty much the whole time you're there, you're there for the show. So yeah, it's a lot. It's fun. You would be great on it.
Starting point is 00:58:08 Both you guys would. I think you both need to do that show. I would. That's, I think, the only show that I would. You guys just stop for a second and look shit ahead. Like, yeah, you're right. I think I would be great on that show. I'm scared to even say, because it's kind of like the more I talk about Raya, the more they won't let me on.
Starting point is 00:58:25 Are we having riot issues? Oh, I can't get on. How do we fix that? I don't know. I have 68 referrals. They hate my ass. 68's. 60 nights the charm.
Starting point is 00:58:34 I keep talking. Exactly. I keep talking about it. And so that's why I'm scared to say I want to be on traitors because it feels like a Raya situation. I mean, it could be, but it could also be manifested. I know. I know. We'll never know, honestly.
Starting point is 00:58:48 We won't know. When it happens, it's manifesting. When it doesn't, you look crazy. Exactly. It's just part of it. Exactly. So. She feels a little traitorsy, doesn't it?
Starting point is 00:58:55 It does actually. It does. I'm having a little PTSD right now. It's nice. Like you know you can't have your phone. Yeah, I knew that. That's what I want to talk about. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:05 That's not a bad thing. It's the same thing. Whenever you do a show like that, whenever you're on an all-inclusive kind of show where you're just in it, they usually take away your phone. And I think that's a healthy thing. That would be good for us. I think it's a really good thing.
Starting point is 00:59:18 You don't realize this is an example right now because you guys do it when you're on the podcast. Your conversation is. so much better when you take out the ability to like leave it and when you're interacting with a group what ends up happening a lot of times is when you don't feel like you're invited into a conversation what's the first thing you do phone you grab your phone and you start scrolling because it weather app is crazy but yes that works when you don't have that you have the ability you have the ability to then like insert yourself into a conversation and because of that you end up getting people
Starting point is 00:59:51 better. What are you going to say? Hey, hey, I'm alone over here. Talk to me. But that is the truth. It really, I think it's better. I think we should get rid of our phones more often. Do you think it, like, rewired something or, like, reconnected neurons that have been disconnected because of... Yeah, I think it, you feel, you just feel more open to having deeper conversations and you feel more aware and alert than you usually do. Because you... Oh my gosh. When you got out, were you, like, first thing, like, like, water, like, phone? I took a second because I knew it was going to be a lot. I didn't grab it because I was running the social.
Starting point is 01:00:24 Yeah, I also had to grab it because I did find out through someone that she was having a lot of fun with my socials. She really was. She's so funny. Listen, I'm never going to get my socials back again, by the way. She still has access and I think we're going to have to play a game moving forward. Like was this post from Joey or was this post from Kelsey? And I think that's a fun game to play. What's funny is like...
Starting point is 01:00:44 I bet a lot of people are going to start doing that because of her. It kind of actually feel like I wouldn't know if someone was hacking Kelsey. account. No. Because she's like doing laundry. I'm like, that is awesome. It is awesome.
Starting point is 01:00:56 She's bringing it back to how it's yeah, the old Facebook days, you know? Yeah. No, she should run my social. She's more funny than I am. I am all game for it. But yes,
Starting point is 01:01:05 the fact that she could right now just be swiping through my Instagram and responding to things. If anyone out there gets a random DM probably wasn't me. So just know that's. It's so good. But it also gives me a little freedom
Starting point is 01:01:16 that they don't know if it's me. So that I can be a little more edgy than I want. Yeah. Totally. This is great. Blame it on. Kelsey. Exactly. Yeah. Is there anything like you wouldn't do? Like you've done dancing, The Bachelor,
Starting point is 01:01:30 traitors. Now, and now you're full on actor in a full-length film. Yes. I did a movie. It was very fun. You did a movie. Yeah. I watched it last night. Did you? So good and cozy. I would love to know your thoughts. I'm actually deathly afraid of people that I've watched it because I want to know how you view me now. Did you watch it? I did. I got to see it. Joey, I'm like a rom-com. um yeah like fanatic and i need it i need it just like the perfect cozy feel good love that his case is true you believe me as an actor i believed the shit out of you yes yes yes speaking a leading man seriously it was so good thank you i appreciate it was way more fun than i thought it was going to be when it came like my way and i got the opportunity i was scared because i think that that
Starting point is 01:02:16 transfer from reality to yeah like scripted is a little daunting um But it was fun playing like a rom-com situation because I'm a huge rom-com fan myself. Like that's my number one movie I will watch all the time. And I always wanted to be in that role where you get to like have a love interest but also throw some humor in and just the holiday movies are just feel good. So what's your favorite? Rom-com. We do this all that. Well, do rom-com, quintessential rom-com.
Starting point is 01:02:44 Yeah. Holiday rom-com. Mm-hmm. The best. Do dos you. What is you? Holiday rom-com and quintessential? Number one.
Starting point is 01:02:54 Rom-com. It could be holiday. My number one rom-com might be cliche, but I just, I've watched it again recently, and it always holds up. How to lose a guy in 10 days. I watched it last week. That's a great one. It holds.
Starting point is 01:03:04 And I don't know. Something about Matthew McConae and a rom-com just does it for me, and I love Kate Hudson. I think it's incredible. The two of them in their prime, and I think they're still in their prime, but in their prime, it makes me horny. Yeah, we know. Fair? We don't know.
Starting point is 01:03:19 I said. I mean, you are, you are in Austin. So it just it makes sense. Yeah. It's yeah. Hook him. There's another way to say like I could have said it in so many words but that it no, but that's the right way it got to the point There's tension. It got to the point. Yeah. No, it's great. I mean, fool's gold. There's a ton they do it's there's a ton they do it again.
Starting point is 01:03:35 She said she said that it's that comes up a lot. She said that was her worst kiss she's ever had and she was gagging in the water because they did do it like six times. No way. And that upsets me. It's a testament to their skills and range, but like why does it upset you? because you wish you were... You know, I'm a baby. I want them all to be married after I see the movie. It doesn't make sense to me
Starting point is 01:03:58 that Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson are not married in that age still. I get it. I digress. Holiday, I love the holiday. I think that's my... That was a layup.
Starting point is 01:04:10 Yeah, I know it was. It's just how do you not pick that one? But there's... I just, I don't think there's a lot of times bad rom-coms. It's only when you just can't find a way through watching it where it just like, okay, I'm over it, but I just think it's a great genre.
Starting point is 01:04:24 I just, I love it. We missed the mark for a couple of recent years. We missed the mark. We have not had a good rom-com in a while. What was the bullshit one that came out with with Cini-Sweeney? Oh, yeah, I know exactly where you're going. That one made me once you hit my, I'd rather hit my head hard against this door. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:41 Then watch that again. It was tough. The only part that I did enjoy was the Unwritten song. That was good. I mean, the Serenity song was funny. Unwritten and, yeah, yeah, that's true. It brought, it gave unwritten a little bit of a little bit of a, wave back, which I think we all need. Number one karaoke song, by the way, I will rip
Starting point is 01:04:54 unwritten anytime I get the chance. That's a really good one. I have a new, I have a new karaoke song. What is it? Big girls don't cry. Big girls? Yeah. That feels like high. I was like, wait. That feels like a higher one. Okay. Bigger girls don't cry. The bigger or the girl, the less you cry. Yeah. Yeah. That's how it could be. Yeah. Oh, man. I need to say one more thing about Joey's performance. Please, please. I need to hear all of it. I think that so many, men kind of like look almost like look down on on rom-coms and don't want to take on a rom-com role and I could just like really feel the opposite of that from you and just like that you like fully immersed yourself in the rom-com of it all and I feel like you could feel your love of the
Starting point is 01:05:37 genre yeah yeah like through the screen why are you laughing can I ask why you're laughing I'm trying I'm trying to like I'm being serious so just go ahead I know I know I'm I'm thinking like the bigger the girl. Sorry, that correlates. That is true. That is true. And also, Joey's performance was incredible. And I could feel your love of the genre.
Starting point is 01:06:03 Talk about range, too. No, it was fun. It's what I'm saying. And I feel like we really, we really needed that. Like, where we've been losing our trust in men in the space. I appreciate you saying that. And you have really brought that back. It was fun.
Starting point is 01:06:17 And I do think doing the rom-com genre helped me, because I was like, I could act the shit out of this. Like, this is, this is what I love. I am the guy. You are a real-life mom-paw. I mean, there was moments where I had flashbacks to The Bachelor. Yeah. We were in a dinner, dinner scene on that, and I'm like, this is, I'm on a one-on-law right now.
Starting point is 01:06:35 I'm in it. But it was really fun. Jamie was incredible. Definitely, if you guys want to watch it, you should. Comes out November 2nd. I'm very excited about it because it was something so different and something I really enjoyed. And where can you watch? on the Roku channel, so it's free, free streaming.
Starting point is 01:06:53 No excuse not to. Yeah, and everybody has an open space in their docket for a feel good rom-com. Holiday time, you know. Holiday time. Get a nice blanket, get something warm to drink and watch me try to act. God, that sounds fun. Thank you. I really does a lot that you said that because it is nerve-wracking to like step into that for the first time.
Starting point is 01:07:15 And so far, I don't know if it's because people just want to be kind to me, but I've heard good stuff. So I'm excited. You should be very proud of you. Thank you. But that brings you back to my question. Is there anything you would not do? Yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:07:26 I mean, I said after doing Dancing with the Stars, it's like how much more reality can one person do? Because I've did a lot of it and I've actually left it very happy. I've had great experiences. I left with an amazing fiance that I can't wait to marry next year. I got a mirror ball, which how the hell did that happen? That is crazy. So even doing traders was scary for me because I'm like,
Starting point is 01:07:50 Like, I don't really, I don't know if I could do any better. Like, I've met the peak of what I want to do. The only one left, I think, in the reality space that I do have interest in is Survivor just seems like a trip. Summerhouse. Oh. Maybe. I don't know. Survivor.
Starting point is 01:08:08 I'm open. I think if you can tell from all these experiences, like I'm a yes man. If something comes my way and I can see some value in doing it where I'm going to gain something from it and I feel like it's going to make sense in the way. world I'm living right now. I'm always open. But yeah, Survivor is the only other show that I've watched being like, I'm just like, I want to know what it's like. Because now I'm kind of a geek with these reality shows that you hear about it. You're going through it with dancing with the stars. And now we are connected on a different level because we both experienced it. It's kind of like when you golf is. Exactly. Just same thing. This is where you were trying to go with it. This makes sense.
Starting point is 01:08:41 You do love a callback and I love that about you. But yeah, I want to experience it. I want to know what it's like maybe. But I don't know if I could do it either. That sounds like genuine, on earth. Listen, one of the shows I know you would be terrible on, Survivor is one of them. And it's a compliment to you because you know who you are. That's us getting to know each other and I appreciate you saying me. No, there's no doubt
Starting point is 01:09:02 you would struggle. You know you can't brush your teeth? This is what I was literally about to say. As soon as he finds out he can't brush his teeth, he's out. That's like that's bad. Yeah. Yeah. No, there's no way. I don't know. Pass.
Starting point is 01:09:21 I did hear if you want to know, if you want to know, If you want to know something inside information about the survivor, it is interesting because it's about people in general. Once you stop using soap, I was told that there is actually the scent and like your smell goes away. A lot of what happens is you have to like the first week apparently is health because everyone's getting rid of all of their toxins. But when you stop for a bit, I'm not saying you shouldn't stop show. I'm just saying on that show I've heard from people that the smell either maybe it's the cat situation though. Maybe you get used to the smell. You might just get used to it.
Starting point is 01:09:54 Maybe they're lying to me. But they say after a week it goes away. It's either you get used to the smell or your toxins, something happens. I have so much aluminum in my body for my deodorant. It's over. It's over. It's over. You're talking to sweaty pits boy.
Starting point is 01:10:06 I had to get Botox in these arms. Did you see me after my one minute dance, by the way? Like, it looked like I jumped in a pool. Yeah. I'd first week on. It's the first day on survival like four hours in. I'm drinking my pee. I'm like, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:10:17 I need it. Trying. I don't think I could do it. And I also don't want to. you don't want to, you don't want to, especially, I am on Survivor right now. You are. In a way. You're in it.
Starting point is 01:10:27 But you would do really well. I mean, there's nothing that, I don't see you not excelling at any show. I just think it would be fun to do the challenges. I think the idea of like trying to get immunity that, that gets me, that gets me all jazzed up. I've never actually seen Survivor. So is it kind of like the hunger games where like you could get like a toothbrush if you do good job? You know it close. Not a toothbrush.
Starting point is 01:10:48 You get food. Oh. They give you. They don't give you food. They give you rice if you do well. What do you have? You have to like find your food in the ocean. They wait to give you like flint and rice and the ability to survive.
Starting point is 01:11:01 You have to make your own. It's it's no, no, again, love you both. Maybe actually that's what we should do is try to make your own little survivor. Our survivors just take away our phones. Yeah. We'll just put you in an uncomfortable situation. I want to watch one real. Give me one real.
Starting point is 01:11:20 I don't need ice. Instead of food. No rice. Just a reel. Yeah. Yeah. It would be a good show. It would be terrible for you guys, but it would be very fun to watch.
Starting point is 01:11:30 Like a show of its own. Taylor Hanson literally first day and he was like, I think it'd be funny to send influencers to an island with no phones. Yeah. He's not. Okay. Mary Freck Kill. Very good. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:45 Very good. Well, okay. Joey, we held you captive here. This was kind of like Survivor. I loved it. We loved having you. Seriously. This was so much fun.
Starting point is 01:11:54 And also, I need to once again say, if you're not voting for Connor, you're doing something wrong. This guy is working his ass off every single week. He is going to get better. You are what Dancing with the Stars is all about. Your next week will be better. It will. Next week will be better.
Starting point is 01:12:10 I'm saying it right now. I already said it. I will double down. I think you're getting your first eight next week. I do. Have you gotten an eight before? Your first multi-mates? No, I've not gotten a lot.
Starting point is 01:12:19 I've not gotten an 8. Not yet. There's room in my purse for an 8. It's coming. It's coming. You're going to do great, man. It's been fun watching you in that space. I'm excited for you.
Starting point is 01:12:30 And I just start crying. Thanks for coming, Joey. We love you, dude. Thank you, Joey. You're a great good. Congrats on everything. Remind everybody November 2nd. November 2nd, there's a movie called Holiday Spark
