Starting point is 00:00:24 There's my leg. There's my leg. There's my damn little tiny leg. How are you? Hey guys. How are you? What's that from? I don't know. How are you? How are you? Sure, sure. What is that from? I don't know. How are you? Okay. No, that wasn't it. Let's think. Let's... I honestly don't know. How are you? It could be the office. No. When in doubt. I think this is one of those classic timeless pieces. Okay. How are you? I'm actually... Hang on. Okay. I want everyone to picture.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Everyone close your eyes, unless you're driving. I want you to picture your whole life leads up, your life's work leads up to a moment where you've traveled across the country. And you're presenting your firstborn piece of work that's just the beginning of your lineage, your career, your body of work. This is the, this is the concrete, the foundation that it's all. going to be built on. And you go on the Today Show, okay? And you present that work to the world, to America in the morning. The first thing they see when they wake up with their fold jerks.
Starting point is 00:01:36 In the third hour and the third hour. And the third hour. You know, my ass sits there and watches three hours of the Today Show. I told you that. And then I want you to picture heading over to chat with me for two hours, okay? I want you to think about what that must feel like. You know, I have the exclusive interview with Today's show. You may know it from the Today Show.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Today Show alum. Make some noise for Brooke Averick? No. Averick. Everiche. Welcome in. Thank you. How you doing?
Starting point is 00:02:09 So last we spoke, it's kind of confusing because last we spoke was two days ago in terms of that I saw you and spoke to you two days ago. But in terms of people that are listening to this podcast, the episode that we recorded two days ago when I said, I'm not going to make it out of the Today Show a lot. Yeah. Came out actually after the Today Show as well. So that's really confusing. But as of in this moment, I just came from the Today Show.
Starting point is 00:02:35 It makes sense to go. We recorded it on Monday. Right. When I was bald. Yeah. When you were bald, that was two days ago from where the today. So Monday and bald, we record. Monday we record your bald.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Tuesday, we travel to New York. Yep. Brooke does Today's show. On Wednesday. Oh, yes. Tuesday we travel in New York. We sleep. We wake up.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Rick does Today Show. She heads right from Today Show to record. So it's Monday Wednesday podcast, but like both pre, both post Today Show, which is weird. Both are post Today Show. The first one, the first one I had not yet done the Today Show. And my feeling during that was that I genuinely, in my heart, believed I was going to die, like genuinely die. Yeah. On stage. I did not believe there was life after the Today show. Was there a live audience? So I legitimately said goodbye. to my cats. Like, I did not think, I thought this was the end for me.
Starting point is 00:03:28 There was no live audience. There were a lot of camera people. Yeah. So there's probably like 10 to 10 people in the room. That's a big podcast. But let me, I want to explain to you like a little bit about like my history with public speaking and being front facing so that you can really understand like the severity of this.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Okay. Yeah. When I was a little girl. Take me all the way back. I'm going to take you all the way back. I loved being on stage. I loved being in the school plays. Wanted to be an actress.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Did the plays all through middle. Do you want me to take that tag off for you? I'm going to get it. Just keep talking because you're in the... Okay. Did the plays all through middle school. Then we get to high school and my mental health is starting to deteriorate in a different way than it had before. And I was watching Jay Leno.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Yeah. This was probably like 2010 or 2011. And I just had this thought. I don't remember who was on Jay Leno. But I thought never in one million years could I put myself in that sort of position and be on a stage like that. And then the next morning I woke up with the biggest pit in my stomach and just I had developed late onset stage fright from just receiving that episode of Jay Leno and feeling like that looks to me like the end of the world. Like I can't ever do something like that. And so for two years after I saw that episode of Jay Leno, I didn't get up on stage ever.
Starting point is 00:05:01 I quit all the plays. It was really sad because that was stuff that I love to do. My mom had to call my teachers and say, don't call on her because it was literally, I couldn't even answer a question in class. Like I just had a permanent puke lump in my throat. And I just kind of like was pretty quiet for two years. And then, you know, I kind of eased myself back into it. I could do like a class presentation, but like I didn't really see myself ever like getting back on a stage again. Sure.
Starting point is 00:05:29 So that's why when we started the podcast and you were like, I want to do live shows, I was like, ain't going to happen champion. I recall. Ain't going to happen champion. But, you know, eventually a few years happened, worked up to it. But keep in mind, Jay Leno was still in the back of my mind. Jay had that much real estate in your brain? I think that is truly like with an OCD brain, like you have one thought and it just doesn't ever.
Starting point is 00:05:52 go away. You just ruminate on that one thought over and over again and for whatever reason mine is just seeing Jay Leno up there and thinking nope. Like that just seems like the scariest thing in the world. Do you think it was the J of it all?
Starting point is 00:06:08 I have no idea. I just remember seeing him doing a talk show and thinking like never. Like that feels, that makes my stomach feel really horrible and bad and I feel like I'm going to throw up just watching Jay Leno up there. And then, so the book tour stuff, that was kind of like really shocking that I was able to do
Starting point is 00:06:30 that even. And so when I got this email to do the Today Show, I was like, you know, the person I thought about was Jay. And you need to release Jay. And I said, you know what? Like up to this point, like I have been so scared to do every single thing and I have done it. So we are going to do the Today show. We are going to push ourselves. And for the. the past month, I have not slept. All I have thought about was the Today Show. It really, it drove me to madness, almost. And I just didn't see a world where I would survive it.
Starting point is 00:07:08 Like, I truly believed I was going to be the first person to projectile, puke and faint and die on that stage. But weirdly, I woke up this morning. I was just like, okay. Like, whatever happens, like will happen, you know? And I did take a beta blocker. Oh, good. Because, you know, up until this point, I had been too scared to actually take one.
Starting point is 00:07:35 I had been taking them for practice, like, in moments in my home. But I had never taken one like when I need to, like, do something front facing. But I did take one today. And I do think it helped. But I kind of just got there. What did it do? Did you notice? Did you feel it?
Starting point is 00:07:49 Yes. So usually, like, like. So usually, like, the panic for me, when my heart starts to race and my palms start to sweat, it works me up even more. And I'm like, so I am having a panic attack. And then that just makes the panic attack come even faster. But the beta blocker stops those physical symptoms from happening. So I don't get the like, okay, well, my heart's already racing and my palms are already sweating. So the panic attack is starting.
Starting point is 00:08:10 So I missed that part, which was really helpful. Like, I was still nervous, but like I didn't have the physical symptoms making me think like it was even worse than it was. you know so then I kind of really was just like surrendering myself once I got there I was like today's the day like hunger game vibes when you're in the yeah when you're in this when you're in the thing that shoots you up it's like all right well I mean like today is the day and you know I got up there and Jason Sadecas walked off I said hello sir and he seemed pretty chill so I was like all right all is good I sat down with the hosts.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Craig Melvin, Dylan, blanking on last name for just the second, I will go back to you, an Outroker. And I, you know, I said to them, I said, listen, like, what will you do if I faint? And they were like, oh, you're not going to. And, but they did say they would cut to a commercial break, which really helped me.
Starting point is 00:09:16 And so once it started, Connor, and they introduced me, I can't explain what happened in my body. You're so professional. I said, I think I love the Today Show. Yeah, yeah. And I just kind of started talking. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:33 And Craig was being L.O.L. Like, making me feel so comfortable. I heart Craig. Like, so much. Good. And it was a lot quicker than I had imagined. I had a lot of talking points because I was recommending books. So I had a lot of talking points for each book.
Starting point is 00:09:48 But they, after like, my first. talking point. They were like, all right, next one, because I think they were running behind. So that made me feel even better because I was like, I really don't even have to say everything that I wanted to say. And then, you know, I cracked a few jokes too, even. I'll get into why I couldn't watch, but like. Cracked a few jokes. And then guess what Craig had said to me? Huh. Favorite guest of the day. Wow. Well, you know. Jason Sadeke because I just left. Yeah. Favorite. Favorite. Favorite. Favorite guest of the day. Well done.
Starting point is 00:10:20 Then Al, Kate gave me big hug. You hugged El Roker? Yeah. And then Craig looked at me dead in the eyes. He said, come back anytime. I walked. Did you say, did you say, what does that mean? What does come back anytime mean?
Starting point is 00:10:36 Okay. I'll be here tomorrow morning. I also, like, once Craig was wrapping up and he was like, we'll go to commercial break. I just looked at the camera, go, we'll be right back. And that wasn't my line. You did not say that. I think I did. Oh, we'll need to.
Starting point is 00:10:49 We'll need to pull the clip. No, we don't need to watch it. No, I need to see it. You haven't seen anything. No, I just saw what everyone else posted. By the way, I couldn't go. They run a very tight ship there, even though Brooke has, like, the golden ticket to, like, go whenever she wants. Like, I was not allowed in the venue because they only...
Starting point is 00:11:04 They only let people up with me. So Brooke had to bring her team. Fuck them. But, yeah, so I was, like, hoping to watch... I'll tell you why I... I think I know. I couldn't watch... I wouldn't be able to watch.
Starting point is 00:11:19 somebody who was nervous do something live? No, Brooke, I can watch you do something. Oh, okay. Yeah, I went to the, yeah, I went to your New York show. Like, yeah, no, I wanted to watch. You know how I was up. Stage Friday, four people. I was up.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Okay. I was awake. I texted you. Yeah, yeah, you did. I was at a hotel last night. Yeah? Because I, if I asked why? Yeah, I'll tell you why.
Starting point is 00:11:39 So your flight landed well before mine. My original flight, I moved back and then it got delayed two hours. So I had. ended up landing at about midnight and I wanted to download something to watch so downloaded that like the Idaho murders documentary that they just put on Netflix and it's like a limited series and like I'm I watch stuff all the time but like something obviously it's like unsettling because it's I guess I never really doubt about like something being like real and can happen too and so I was landing in New York yeah And I go, there's not a world where I go to my underground apartment tonight.
Starting point is 00:12:24 Could not go. You checked into a hotel. Got a hotel on a hotel tonight. Where? Hit level 13 on hotel tonight. And like right next to my apartment. Wow. Your apartment's that bad.
Starting point is 00:12:35 I couldn't go into it at night at midnight. Wow. Are you back there now? Yeah. That's why I was a little bit behind coming here. Got it. But then my hotel obviously didn't have like live TV. Oh.
Starting point is 00:12:47 I just had like information. A hotel not having the Today Show? No, it's like all delayed and it's like all the new TVs now in hotels are like local news and then modern family. Friends are the office and then like something on Discovery that's like not in my wheelhouse to watch. Like not even like mummies. They're doing like Arizona. You know, it's like stuff that. And then yeah, so I couldn't watch it.
Starting point is 00:13:18 So I texted you. And then I'm looking at like Hannah our agent's story. And I'm like, oh my God, cool. How long were it was the segment? It was supposed to be five minutes, but I think it ended up being closer to four because they had gone over. Dang, I want to see it. I'm going to.
Starting point is 00:13:33 I mean, we can watch it. Oh, it's here. Yeah, please. But let me, I have to tell you something before. Sorry, something happened. And it's not that bad, but I got really thrown off because at the end they were supposed to ask me about Phoebe. But Al said, so tell us about your podcast.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Oh, my God. So I was like, oh, shoot. And so then. Or big break. I should have said something about it. I do think I oversawed our podcast a pretty significant amount when I said, that's nothing. Oh, I see. I just came out.
Starting point is 00:14:12 I said, that's nothing. Let me tell you about my book. I want to apologize. I love our podcast. I don't mean it's nothing. Hey man, all good. I just panicked. Hey man, all good.
Starting point is 00:14:24 I didn't say it's, I don't think I said it's nothing. I think I said we talk about nothing. Oh, good, man. Just our lives work? No, I said it and I was like, no worries, man, at all. You don't know what's going to come out of your mouth up there. I start crying.
Starting point is 00:14:36 I panicked because I didn't know how I was going to get to Phoebe. First ever, Brooke and Connor walk off. Sorry. No, seriously no worries. Sorry, man. No, seriously don't worry about it. Ew, I don't want to watch. No, we have to watch it.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Times bestseller. She's also... Whoa, who the fuck is that? R.K. Jr.? Comedy podcast. Brooke and Connor make a podcast. Woo! Oh, I was on it two for a second. I'm spitting my coffee on my shirt in the clip.
Starting point is 00:15:02 Okay. They didn't want to do a clip with my face in her, huh? So let's start this heartbreak and the home. They just got right into it. Yes, this is Lost and Found by Tara DeWitt. She's one of my favorite romance authors. Okay. She's the master of writing things that are the perfect mix of emotional
Starting point is 00:15:17 And Seamy, she deals with some really emotional topics, but doesn't wait, it's never too heavy. This one deals a lot with grief. So our main characters are B and Silas, and they're both kind of on these grieving journeys independently. B has just lost her best friend. My crotch out is kind of dealing with the aftermath of a very traumatic firefighting accident. And so they kind of come together and help each other heal. And during that process, you know, sparks fly. and romance and sues.
Starting point is 00:15:50 You did not do the like Tristan Channing cadence. What am I supposed to do? Oh my God. I think that's my undercarriage. Genuinely. Your cooter is like, but you, it's a classy way. It's a rougher. It's a ronper.
Starting point is 00:16:06 It's a romper. Talk about seeing me. It's a romper. Okay. Oh, it's a romper. And I think I went on too long for that one. I feel like everyone I meet lately is trying to be smarter with money, myself included, cash back here, coupons and points there.
Starting point is 00:16:20 But why does it take so much effort? We all just want to make our money work a little harder. I totally agree, Connor. I love a good deal. But if I actually have to hunt for one or go out of my way to activate a coupon, I've already checked out. Yeah, well, Brooke, I think I found one you'll actually like. Prime for young adults.
Starting point is 00:16:38 It's actually pretty genius. It's a prime membership for 18 to 24-year-olds that actually makes Prime feel like it's built for you. All right. You've got my attention, Connor. But what's the catch? What if I told you there isn't one? I'm talking about 5% cashback on eligible purchases and categories like beauty, apparel, electronics, PCs, and health, and personal care.
Starting point is 00:16:57 You're telling me this whole time I could have been getting rewarded for the purchases I already make? And with no catch? Exactly. You're not changing your shopping habits. You just get rewarded for them. And the best part, the cash bag is automatic. No coupons, no activation, no extra steps. Now that's the kind of reward I can get behind.
Starting point is 00:17:16 extra work, just getting rewarded for the life I'm already living. Talking about Prime for young adults, 5% cash back, 100% made for you. I'm talking about that. If you're between 18 and 24, check out Prime for Young Adults and start earning cash back on the precious you're already making. Prime for young adults is only available for 18 to 24 year olds. Terms apply. Next one is a post-up epileptic novel about this guy with his dog trying to find survivors after a bad thing happens. Yeah, a bad thing happens. A flu pandemic kind of wiped out most of humanity, and a pilot lives alone in an airfield. Well, not alone. He lives with his dog and his plane.
Starting point is 00:17:57 And one day, yeah, a little bit alone. But he receives a transmission in his plane one day that gives him hope that there are still some survivors out there. And there's going to be a movie? There's going to be a movie with Jacob Allorty, who's a very good friend of mine. Yes, I've never met it. They like that. They like that. Absolutely. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:18:18 So yeah, that's really cool. Yeah. This next one is kind of like a grown-up furnish of the breakfast club? Yes, it's very feel-good, laugh-out, loud, funny. It's about a woman who is working- Do you just know this? And I didn't memorize it. ... But then finds herself completely unemployed and aimless and finds herself in the position
Starting point is 00:18:37 of becoming the super for her apartment building. Yes, and so her tenants are what make this book really funny. It's such a quirky cast of characters. characters and it's such a great book about finding yourself and it never being too late to see you got some good picture this next one's a thriller i like a thriller yes i you'll like this one you'll like this one i love craig on an island in vermont where a hundred years ago a group of women went missing they just up and oak vibes no one knows what happens to them and in the present day they're making a movie about these women who disappeared okay i'm like engaged crew go to this island
Starting point is 00:19:12 And so, yeah, so one by one, the casting crew also start disappearing. Wow. Yeah. That's the unknown. Yep. And so it really keeps you turning the page into the very end. You really didn't give the other young woman a chance to say a word, huh? My podcast, Brooke and Connor make a podcast, we really just kind of talk about a lot of nothing.
Starting point is 00:19:37 Okay. Yeah. But I can tell you about my book. Yes. Sorry. It's my debut novel. You're crested. Everyone's good.
Starting point is 00:19:46 They put it in box over my face again. Sorry. All good. Okay, I want to hear about you. I'm an anxious person, which you probably know based off of what I was telling you before we started filming. But I wanted to write about an anxious woman in the romantic space. So, Phoebe is a hopeless romantic who has very severe intimacy anxiety. And so she is about to turn 30 and she has not yet lost her virginity.
Starting point is 00:20:16 Can I say virginity on the day? Oh, my God, Al was shaking up by that. I'm not going to say much more than that, but basically she goes from having zero love interests to three love interests. Yeah, and she's giving herself 30 days before her 30th birthday to kind of make everything happen. And this is going to be on Netflix? It's going to be on Netflix. Oh, congratulations. It's going to be on Netflix.
Starting point is 00:20:37 Thank you so much. Wow. Your grandparents, your grandparents are watching. Say hi. Hi, Mama and then pop up. They made me nervous. They said they told all their friends to watch. So that's why I was feeling kind of sick before we started.
Starting point is 00:20:48 Now I'm feeling better. And you didn't pass out. So I did not talk out, which I was scared of. Thank you for making me feel so comfortable. I could have been behind you in the window. Oh, thanks. We love your energy. I love you guys.
Starting point is 00:21:01 To see all the recommendations, just go to today. com slash books. No, they cut. We'll be right back. I'm sorry And they cut your your favorite guest Maybe that was offline
Starting point is 00:21:14 That was engaging That was incredible I was watching the whole thing I was like oh interesting Yeah You had a really You described all the books really well Thank you
Starting point is 00:21:25 I had I mean I wrote in a notebook All of my bullet points And I rehearsed for 24 hours Just on loop on loop on loop But I barely got to any of my bullet points Because they were like all right Let's move on
Starting point is 00:21:35 And I love that I miss Craig Oh, God. Craig is my new obsession. I want to get Craig on the pod. Let's ask. I feel bad, though, because I didn't. I didn't get his number after he said he was the favorite of the day over Jason. I heart Craig Melvin. You should probably follow him on Instagram. I did. Did you? Oh, oh, Connor. Did you message him? No. I know. I feel like Craig, I don't know, but maybe he wouldn't be running his own account. I think Craig is running his own account. Do you? Okay. I don't know. And then I got to meet Jenna.
Starting point is 00:22:08 Oh, cool. Yeah. How was she? Lovely. I only met her for a second. That was great. And I really, the second I finished, the- Hi, Craig, Craig on vacation.
Starting point is 00:22:18 He's just the greatest guy. Last full day of paradise. And the scruff just got approved by the most important critic. I hope he has another vacation soon. He's been working so hard. Oh my gosh. Okay, 60,000 likes. Anyway, I'm feeling major relief.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Yeah, that has to be a load off. That's the last, like, really, really hard thing that I had to do of this entire summer. And so I expressed gratitude for you. Likewise. You're putting up with me and my stress. And you'll notice my lip is healed completely. That was diagnosed as stress. And did you?
Starting point is 00:22:59 Yeah. I think I was biting it pretty intensely. Get it. That's all I have to say about this morning, I think. Good. I mean, not good, but, like, good job. Thanks. It's over.
Starting point is 00:23:09 it's over. Are you seeing any, like, what happens? Like, what is the exposure from Today Show? Well, I did walk out and I was like, I want to be, what are they called on the Today Show? Correspondents? I want to be one of them. Like, I want to be a correspondent. I think I do really well on live TV.
Starting point is 00:23:29 And, like, I really, I want to work on the Today Show. That's how I left, like, the immediate adrenaline high. It is crazy because literally last week, I was like, I could see you and I doing like a morning TV show, Brooke, word for where it goes to me, my long-term goal
Starting point is 00:23:44 is to never be in front of a camera again. Last week. That was the, but it was the adrenaline talking. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:52 So I am. Oh, so you're back. I am back to wanting a more secluded life with an openness to making appearances every now and then. When Craig is on
Starting point is 00:24:06 and hosting and not on vacation and it's on his last day in paradise. I will want. When Craig is on Paradise. Although when Craig and I get together, it is Paradise. Period.
Starting point is 00:24:16 Yeah. So that's it. I feel great. And tomorrow I head to Block Island, Rhode Island. Why? For my new sister's bachelorette. Oh, sick. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:29 Block Island. I've never been to Block Island. I don't know what that is. I don't know the vibe, but it's kind of like a Nantucket-esque situation. Look nice. And the weather is really nice. I don't know if you noticed when you walked around outside. So I have to take a ferry.
Starting point is 00:24:46 Cool. Oh, cool. Oh, cute. Cute. So that'll be nice. And that's it. What's new with you? I mean, I saw you on Monday.
Starting point is 00:24:58 I know. And all I have to talk about, obviously, is the Idaho murder case. And that's not like, I don't want to follow up your today's show thing with like, I don't know. I'm just back to my feeling about the, I, that. It's a really good example of, like, there's no, like, story to expose and, like, no message to be told where it's like, you know, it's just like a tragic, it's a tragedy. And, like, I'm confused why they made a documentary about it. I was going to say, aren't you very anti-documentary when you come to tragedy? I am. No, I, like, forgot because it's just, like, an interesting case. But usually, like, when you do it, it's like, or when you read or when you watch these documentaries, it's like, oh, there were all these tragic things and we want to tell the stories of the, and it's like, there's actually no story being told.
Starting point is 00:25:40 just like a horrible thing that happened, you know? And it's being monetized. There must be a plus side for like the families of the victims because like I really, it's like hard to grasp that. We're all like, ooh, like let's sit down and watch the documentary about college students being murdered in their sleep. Awareness of what? Well, awareness of like this was my daughter, you know, and like she was a person and like remember her. And also like this man was a monster. But I don't know.
Starting point is 00:26:12 It just feels a little... I bet it feels different to every family. Nefarious. I bet each family feels differently. Yeah. Because I know, like, I have seen some of these murder documentaries where the parents, they want to be there. You know, they want to be... They want to be sharing their story.
Starting point is 00:26:29 Yeah, on the documentary. They want to be speaking about their child. They want justice for their child. They want people to be aware of the case. Yes. This is already... No, aren't they reopening everything? They're reopening it because he's, like, withdrawing his guilty plea.
Starting point is 00:26:42 He's saying that he was like convinced to plea guilty and it was like a cover up. No. He's like a no. It's crazy. That's what I'm saying is there's no like we want we want justice. We want this. It was like a failure. A failure.
Starting point is 00:27:04 The justice system didn't work. And it did work and it's like over. So it must be painful to like bring this back up. I don't know. I don't want to be like I don't want to talk about. that any further, but I did, I turned it off. I was like, let me just not do that. But it did sick with me long enough to get a hotel room last night.
Starting point is 00:27:21 Do you want to talk about incest? Jump right into incest. Let's preface this. Let's preface this. We might like, yes, I obviously want to preface this with, so this is something I, there was a silence at a party a few weeks ago. Can we preface by saying when we, Yeah, okay, just go ahead.
Starting point is 00:27:43 Well, I have a lot of disclaimers that I will make. Well, we asked on, I wasn't sure if Brooke was going to be still standing after the Today Show. So I put on online today, give us some deep dives to go into because, you know, we both enjoy deep dives. And I said, please no mattress firm, like conspiracy, triangle things, no Denver airport. And incest did come up a couple times, but like in different ways, but Brooke has an incest deep dive. Well, I don't have an incest deep dive. I have just like a conversation that has come up a few times in my life about incest. And so there was a silence at a party a few weeks ago and I asked the question, which was if a brother and a sister came up to you and let's say they like didn't grow up together and they came together when they were like, they were like 18 or something.
Starting point is 00:28:40 thing okay and they came up to you and like we are brother and sister full both we have the same parents we are in love and we are getting married but we will not have kids what i mean i'm not going to hang out with them you know so yeah but also like at what point is love love like what is wrong i'm not going to be an incest sympathizer today listen it it's obviously like everybody's gut reaction is like, that's not okay. No, but your, yeah, but your gut reaction should be, that's not okay in the people that are, the brother and the sister. But here's where it gets difficult is that homophobic people, and I'm prefacing this by saying, y'all know that like my issue is gay rights. So when I have engaged with homophobic people before and fought them on their, on their beliefs, on their home turf, on their home turf, on their views, they always bring this up.
Starting point is 00:29:44 because they're like they bring up they bring up where I'm like well love is love and then they throw at me like okay well what if a brother and a sister wanted to get together and they always throw that at me
Starting point is 00:29:55 so at what point are you like okay well the issue the issue is definitely like the kids right yeah having kids so I'm saying they are not having kids you can imagine how the conversation was going in this park
Starting point is 00:30:10 yeah yeah I mean it must have been oh it was amazing people loved me I was an incredible Incredible. But I'm saying I used to have this really homophobic person that I unfortunately had to interact with quite a bit. And it was like the bane of my existence and like my life. My life's mission for a very long time was just fighting with this person.
Starting point is 00:30:33 Like I hated him with every fiber of my being. And we were just fighting all the time. And he would always, because I would always be like, why do you care? Like it's fucking weird. that you care this much. And love is love, blah, blah, throwing everything I had. Like, it affects you in no way.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Like, who are you to blah, blah, blah. And then he would always hit me with the, okay, well, what if? D-da-da-da-da-da-da. And then I was kind of just like, and then I would always be like, because I just was like, then I think that's fine.
Starting point is 00:31:05 Oh, bro. So I don't know if I was doing a service or a disservice. No, you, we know your heart. And it's because of that damn school that led you. It's just that like. You're Quaker school that took you so far in your direction that it actually go, hang on, hang on, come back.
Starting point is 00:31:21 No, but it's actually a really hard argument to have. No, you just say, well, the gay people aren't hooking up with their brothers, as far as me, hooking up with their siblings. That's a different conversation. No, but then the person, like, let's, he would be like, you would say it makes me uncomfortable, right? If the reason, if they're not having children, you would say it's just wrong. And then the homophobic person would say, well, I think this is just wrong. and it's the same thing and that's what they would argue
Starting point is 00:31:50 it's the same thing do you see what I'm saying let's role play you're homophobic okay I want you to be homophobic obviously both of us fuck with gay people heavily okay you're homophobic you're already fired up like I wish you're
Starting point is 00:32:06 beta blockers kind of changed you like this feels like I'm happy I'm on set with Candace Owens here today because this is this is something I used to get into all the time I know people thing I'm apolitical, but I'm really not. Like, so, okay, you're homophobic person. Perfect.
Starting point is 00:32:23 I'm Brooke. Okay. Hey, man, why do you care? Say that, like, two boys shouldn't be kissing. Two boys shouldn't kiss. Hey, man, first of all, why do you care? And love is love. It affects you in no way. Who are you to say who can love another person?
Starting point is 00:32:42 What about a brother and a sister? Well, that's a different thing because if they have kids, you know, that raises some issues. Okay, what if they aren't having kids? They don't have kids. They can't have kids. They're infertile. This is when, you know, you kind of gets confusing. Do you see what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:33:01 Here's the thing. Oh, my God. Wait, hang on. I know. That's what I'm saying. Oh, wow. Because you know what I... Because that's how they get you.
Starting point is 00:33:08 Because then I would be like, well, they shouldn't be together. And it's like, why? And it's like the same exact... It's not... No, I actually... wish that we were talking about the Denver airport right now because this is going to get taken. If y'all, I'm, I'm being genuine, like, I am, I don't know the answers. I don't know the answer to this argument. I don't know. I'm not, I don't want to do this anymore. I'm not like, I don't
Starting point is 00:33:30 do this anymore. I'm just really interesting at anyway, this is what was happening at that party. I was fighting for incest of the party pretty heavily because if it means being pro, if it means that a man can, if I have to say, sure, a brother can kiss a sister and not have kids, if that's going to get gay people married, fine, I'll do it. But, like, I don't know if it's right. Oh, my God. Does that make sense? No.
Starting point is 00:33:57 Okay. I feel like it does. I feel like you do know what I'm saying, though. We need, like, an expert here to, like, give us, like, the one. Who is an expert on this? Hank Green, probably. Is incest okay as long as they don't have children? Everyone said no.
Starting point is 00:34:12 Most people said no. That's what I'm saying. What is the real argument? As long as it's between two consenting adults and there's no chance of pregnancy, sure,
Starting point is 00:38:10 it might be abusive power dynamics involved, but tons of other relationships have that too, such as one coworker and their boss. No. I think you can make an argument against siblings who grew up together because that seems. And those are typically seen as morally wrong as So this is like a, this is when it goes back to like, I don't want to be around a boyfriend and girlfriend that are biological siblings or like boyfriend, boyfriend that are biological brothers or sister. Oh, I didn't even start with gay incest. Do you want to? No. I don't.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Oh, my God. It kind of makes your brain hurt. I think it's definitely like people. But anyway, this was something that I dealt with a lot. Thank God this person is not in my life anymore. That's what I'll say. But know that I was on the front line stealing with this for... Did I meet this person?
Starting point is 00:39:04 No. Okay. You did not. Holy mo. Did I think that that was going to be that long of a... Because it's a debate. I would love to watch a high school debate team tackle that. No.
Starting point is 00:39:23 And so as always, every time I've had this conversation with people, we leave with no answers. I wonder if it could be like a question they have in ethics. class. I don't know if it's an issue of ethics, but it's there's, there's morality involved 100% of in excess. Yeah. Yeah. Well, and here's a good example of that. When you look at the people in the Appalachians that we all the famously there's a family that's like so inbred that like they can't speak and they can't some of them. I would argue against that. Well, what I yeah, well, because they're reproducing of course, but like they don't have them. They haven't been exposed to any education in that sense or like any morality you know like there's no you're not I know I guess
Starting point is 00:40:08 you would inherently if you had some level of education be like I'm not going to have sex with my sister I actually do think at one point they knew that that wasn't the norm great grandpappy probably right but now I guess they I guess they don't know but Yeah, I mean, if they don't know, they don't know. You can't fault them. Is that something that like, does someone intervene? Or no, you just let them be. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:40:51 Is someone intervening? Them specifically, I do think that they are not being intervened with. I don't think so either. Huh. I would genuinely like never in my life if I wanted to like really go back to. to school since I graduated, but this is something that I would study. There was one class that I was not in, and it was a larger, like, lecture hall type thing. And a bunch of, I think two of my friends had this class, and they were like, you guys have to
Starting point is 00:41:23 come sit in on this class. And it was like the only class that I went to, I would get my lunch, and I would go to this class, and I would sit in. And then everyone started coming. Like, they had to get like a flex chairs to put in the back of this room. because everyone started coming because it was like the professor would open up debate questions and then people would stand up in the class and it'd be two people and there was like there was one like guy in the football team that stood up this is at UT and he's like yeah like I think if my
Starting point is 00:41:51 girlfriend was leaving the house and I wasn't going out she was wearing and this girl stood up in the front goes oh hell no and I was like oh I'm coming every day for the rest of the semester and I went to that class of the they just went back and forth the professors like this that professor found like a really good niche. It was like, it was like Maury. It was like being on set at Jerry Springer. It was race, gender, and the pursuit of happiness, I think.
Starting point is 00:42:21 That sounds good. Yeah, we had some fun classes. I honestly think that is a class where they could discuss the incest thing. I don't think like the level of intellect that was. in that class. It was just really there to like, it was like a pre-rec class. You know what? I don't think there were any ethical. I would call Lindsay because I bet she would have just the most brilliant take. Unfortunately, she is in Pakistan. So I don't know if I'll be able to reach her. It's beautiful this time of year. I've heard. Ah, yes. In Islamabad. Elbows on the table. Thoughts.
Starting point is 00:43:03 I'm going to take us far away from where we've been. I would like, that's like a such a non-issue. If anyone ever told me to get my elbows off the table, bye. We should go to dinner with my mom. You could fight her. Would she do elbows off the table? I don't think. She was never like manners, manners, manners. But there was like certain stuff where it's like, what do you do?
Starting point is 00:43:23 Like that kind of thing. But elbows on the table. I don't, yeah, I guess. I'm not sure I ever got that as a kid. I mean, I definitely got like, you know, please try and chew with your mouth close, Brooke and, you know, keep the food on your plate. and off your shirt and stuff like that. But I think elbows on the table for me,
Starting point is 00:43:42 it was like, that's the least of, you know, I'm a bad eater, so. I'm a baddie. I'm a baddie. I'm a baddie. But yeah, elbows on the table for me, I'm just like, grow up. Elbows on the table to me are, I'm engaged.
Starting point is 00:43:55 I'm here. It's not comfortable to my hands. Imagine me sitting like this and you're talking to me at dinner. I'm like this. Yeah. I travel. Yeah, who started with the elbows? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:44:07 I posted it on my story the other day, and a couple of people are like, are you serious? Like, whatever happened to manners. No elbows on the table rule comes from medieval times of ancient warnings, driven by unstable table setups, crowded spaces, and posture habits. Okay, you know what else comes from medieval times? Incest? Beheadings. Leaches?
Starting point is 00:44:29 Leaching out your blood? Blood leashes? Stoning people in the town square. Guillotine? Starvation. polio. Corsets. Smallpox, the black play.
Starting point is 00:44:40 The yellow fever. Did you have to read that book Yellow Fever for school? With the girl with a yellow eye on it? No. Oh, you would have loved that. And I'm being serious. It was really like, that one. No, I didn't read it.
Starting point is 00:44:56 Fever 1793. Pever 1793. I guess that's not the Middle Ages, like even remotely. But the yellow eye. Oh, she looks like Kieranightly. I could see that. I watched on the flight yesterday. I started with something easy.
Starting point is 00:45:11 I watched Fools Gold again. I do want to say again, this is what I think so much about Phoebe is like when I'm looking at these cast and these movie posters for these movies that are like the wedding singer, I'm like maybe what we're missing here is just like how I said Love Island and Love Island UK is excluded from this conversation. But like Love Island now, like everyone wants their like, everyone wants this to be like their big break, their moment. There's viral clip. Like, I love that.
Starting point is 00:45:37 And, like, all these, like, rom-coms are coming out, and it's like, we're doing this because this will be a funny, like, clip we can post or whatever. If you look at the wedding singer, for example, that movie poster, they're having fun. That cast is, like, friends. You can tell them, like, they're coming out of these movies that are objectively, like, kind of corny, but they were fun. They were all having, along Camp Polly. They were having fun.
Starting point is 00:45:59 Wait, what's that have to do with Phoebe? That, I think Phoebe has that, like, fun gene. You know? It's really sweet. And I look at Fool's Gold, and I'm watching Fool's Gold on the plane. And, like, obviously, just the perfect casting. Kevin Hart's in it, and I'm going to even say he was the perfect casting for this. And y'all have beef.
Starting point is 00:46:19 We don't have any beef. I thought you'd beef with Kevin Hart. Me and Kevin Hart have no beef. Wasn't he the one on the flight that was like, you guys are so annoying? My God, I forgot about that. I don't have beef with him. Did you make that up? No, I don't have beef with him because he was right.
Starting point is 00:46:32 Okay. We were being annoying. Fair. That was back when I learned how to use Photoshop and I was editing everyone's eyebrows off. Yes, yes, yes. And I was like, this is the funniest thing in the world because we didn't have filters or anything. And I was learning how to edit eyebrows off when I was laughing. And I went to ask for a picture.
Starting point is 00:46:51 And he was sitting in very back of the plane and with us. And I was like, can we get a picture? And he's like, no, you guys are the most knowing people I've ever met. But I don't hold that against him. He was right. I would say even if he was right I would say hey I acknowledge you were right about that
Starting point is 00:47:07 that would still hurt my feelings two things can be true I think because of the friends I was with I was like yeah like I was like I don't need and I was pre like cloud chasing so I didn't really need the photo anyways but that's a good memory book I forgot that that had happened
Starting point is 00:47:21 I was like are you sure you can reach your bag I can get it down for you but he but I'll get it down for a picture what do you say champ so great movie just so sexually charged those two. Matthew McConae and Kate Hudson in their prime. And sexual tension.
Starting point is 00:47:40 Sexual tension. That is what makes. That is what a movie makes. And what's funny is that she said that their makeout scenes were so foul for her. She was gagging. Because she feels like incest vibes with Matthew McConaughey. It could be bro and sis. They could still do that. But no, they just like weren't a match. And that's just a testament to their acting. What was this was after how to lose a guy, right? It was in the same two-year period, and I can't remember who came first or next. I would be pretty mad if I was, like, making out with someone for a movie, and then they did, like, a press run that was, like, making out with her was so foul.
Starting point is 00:48:19 That was, like, recently she said that, and they were going back and watching clips. I'd be pretty mad. It was because of the swimming makeout scene when they're in the water. Yeah. It could have been because she was getting water in her mouth, but they had to do it. they had to do it like 10 or 15 times in that movie. And she was like, I was like gagging by the last one. Anyways, so I watched that.
Starting point is 00:48:38 And then something drew me into this movie, this like war movie. You know, I love those war movies. Not like new war. I also have a commentary on war that's not going to be well received. And why not throw it in this episode? I don't think that everyone's going to really receive this one. Yeah, there's going to be, this is going to be a very polarizing episode. It's like, we never do that.
Starting point is 00:48:59 We're usually talking about me pooping or something. So this is great. I'm watching this like historical fiction movie. And I feel like even war has lost that like war thing because now it's all like. Computer war. Everyone's on their damn phones, even in the wars. What war movie are you watching? 1917.
Starting point is 00:49:25 And I'm watching it. Is that Andrew Scott? Yeah. So I'm watching it and I'm going, this is. is, without a doubt, one of the most phenomenally shot movies and the scoring is so well done and this casting is brilliant, this acting is brilliant. How am I like, how did no one hear about, don't say, how did no one hear about this movie? How am I the first person to see this movie?
Starting point is 00:49:47 I type in on Google, did 1917 get any accolades? Why did 1917 not get its flowers? Three Oscars. Best motion picture, best scoring, best casting. Golden Globe for Best Movie of the Year and two Grammys, I believe. In your defense, I only know of it because I love Andrew Scott. Benedict Humberbatch was in it. Remember that movie with him?
Starting point is 00:50:16 Yes! Alan Turing, gay icon? I don't remember. I don't know. He did something pretty extreme. What did Alan Turing do, Izzy? I don't even know. I don't know who Alan Turing.
Starting point is 00:50:29 Jeremy is. He did something. He decoded some sort of... He was a mathematician. He was a mathematician and he decoded something pretty intense. And he was gay. And he was an incest. No.
Starting point is 00:50:46 There was no incest involved. His work in cryptography, theoretical biology, and artificial intelligence made significant contributions to the war effort. He cracked a main code. He cracked an extreme mainframe that helped in the war. Huh. What war? World War II.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Why, him being gay was somehow significant. He castrated him? Really is. It was a really sad movie. They chemically castrated him? Something sad happened. They should have made some exceptions for the father of modern computing. Something said, really sad happened.
Starting point is 00:51:19 I remember being very moved by that movie if y'all want to watch it, but I did watch it like whenever it came out. The man who cracked the Nazi code. He freaking cracked the Nazi code. This is so interesting because obviously I went to a 1917 hole last night. You would like this. I will watch it. I will watch it.
Starting point is 00:51:38 I learned about something. Did you hear about the Zimmerman telegraph? Do you know what that is? No. Things like this don't like not come across my desk because I love this shit. I love this bullshit. The Zimmerman Telegraph was a telegraph sent from Germany to Mexico to try to convince them. Was I wrong?
Starting point is 00:52:04 Okay. Okay, Germany. No, I love that you're acting. I'm going to try to Germany to Mexico to try to convince them. And I think this was during World War I, like 1917, probably around that. And wrong? No, you're right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:52:22 Did this happen in the movie 1970? No, no. This is like completely adjacent. I was just wondering, like, I was just Googling about World War I because it is fairly random. If you look into the origin of World War I, it doesn't entirely like, why did we do that? that. But, um, my friend Izzy just texted me, the producer of our podcast. What did she say? She texted only you? She said, yeah, she was giving me a time update. I can't notify anyways on group. Oh, I see how it is. Yeah, sorry. I was just talking my friend
Starting point is 00:52:53 Izzy. You keep going. Oh, okay. Izzy, will you text me again? Wait, I like, I like that app today's show comes out. We're like, we kind of talk about nothing. Incest World War I. Take that. Al Roker. He's going to be a listener. I tell you, Al gave me a big hug at the end. Yeah, that's special.
Starting point is 00:53:13 He's big. Like a hug kind of way. Like a bear hug. Yeah. Okay, so Germany sends Mexico, this telegraph, and it goes through and it's kind of like, hey, if you join us in this war, which is like so excited. I just picture Mexico being like, you want us? They were like, we'll help you get Texas back.
Starting point is 00:53:32 If you, Germany would have Mexico get Texas. Yeah, I think that that, but it was intercepted by. the British and because they Germany had used an like American line to like send it because they're like
Starting point is 00:53:46 they'll never check the American line but the British were tapped in the American line and then they held it they held on to it to wait until they could leverage it to get the Americans to join their war which is pretty fascinating
Starting point is 00:53:57 because I didn't even know that we were doing all this horse shit who know like how did they know to intercept this random piece of mail? I think that it was just like spies they were so into spies back then spies were so good Spies were good and cute.
Starting point is 00:54:11 Very interesting. Thank you. Can I ask what you know about World War I? Yeah. It began from like a Serbian side and it was like pretty confusing because there was a lot of like it's not what is it called when you're like for your nation? Nationalism. But it was like the three, it was like two sides with like three big guys each that got involved because they were all like nationalists.
Starting point is 00:54:37 I think it was like Britain, France, and one more. And then it was like Germany. No. Austria-Hungary. Austria-Hungary was one. And then Russia was an ally of the U.S., but France. It was assassination. The assassination of Archduke for France, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:54:57 Yeah, but then there were the powers that be. It was like three versus three. And we were an ally of like Russia, Russia, Britain and France. I think it was Russia. of Britain, France. And then there was like Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Italy?
Starting point is 00:55:15 On the German side? Italy and Germany are cohorts. Because of the Mussolini piece. That was two, I think. Oh. Anyway, so they started fighting each other, and then we weren't going to join, and then the Germans, I think the Germans sunk like an American ship,
Starting point is 00:55:30 and it killed a bunch of people, and we still didn't join, because there was, like, a freedom of, like, the waters were free for submarine warfare or something. I don't know, some bullshit. But we joined eventually. And that's all I know. It's crazy that it's just like World War II.
Starting point is 00:55:47 It's like everyone knows about World War II. But my World War I knowledge is pretty damn limited. It's pretty limited to the Archduke, Franz, Ferdinand, and it ends there. The Archduke. Ah. Archduke come over and played. So then after World War I, Austria and Hungary separated and became different places. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:07 Due to the fact. Hot. Due to the facts that be. Who took Archduke's place? Who gives a shit? Wait, what was he the Archduke of? Was he the Archduke? No, no, this is his name.
Starting point is 00:56:23 So I honestly bet there wasn't another one after him because they became two different places. He was the heir. After his death, Archduke Carl came. Oh, Archduke. Wow, imagine going from Ferdinand to Carl. absolute slob all right okay well that's what that's enough for that's what we have of that enough of that for now um do you want to touch any of the messages that you got yeah i have a bunch i don't like
Starting point is 00:56:54 i really can't believe we got that far with no i told you that incest conversation carries yeah really carried us to far far away places um the thing about these things that people send in for deep dives that we could go into like i i i don't don't even know which ones would prove interesting because I've never heard of a bunch. Sure. A bunch of people did send in like the word money and like how money works. I don't really know what that is. What's a flock camera?
Starting point is 00:57:24 I don't know what a flock camera is. Can we look into flock cameras? Yeah, it's those like government, it's what the cities have been using. But now they're like surveillance used for surveillance. Sock cameras are automated license plate reader systems made by flock safety. Unlike standard video cameras, they do not record continuous video. or use facial recognitions and said they snap still photos of passing vehicles to log license plates vehicle make a model okay but the issue now is why is that bad surveillance they think or they know that
Starting point is 00:57:57 it's like constantly on so it's like monitoring people all the time wait i think at this point we just like assume that's the case right yeah everyone's there's cameras everywhere and they make such small ones now you could put them in your yeah you could have a real magic school bus situation Just wait until you get home to pick her nose. We could do magic school bus. There's a world in the next 15 years where Netflix says like a live action magic school bus, but not with real people. Like they put a camera up your tucas. And then they go up.
Starting point is 00:58:33 Wait, up your button around the corner through your tubes and out your boobs. You can go out your boobs. I guess you could out the nipple duct. I can. I know you can. get like me can ask you a question it wasn't a question but do you remember when people put tape over their cameras on their computers yeah are they still doing that i think everyone has kind of move i know a lot of people still put the like in and out there's like a little windshield wiper
Starting point is 00:59:04 type thing that they cover it up when they're not using it do you believe that people are watching you through your computer camera like are you asking me like point blank do i believe people are watching me through my computer camera like Do I genuinely believe that? Yes, that's what I'm asking you. It's just, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not work for us, like, what I'm, what I'm, what I don't know, I don't, I don't think so. I don't think we have enough workforce to be doing that. What about, here's what I'll ask you, you've just committed a pretty intense crime. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:48 They're doing recon on you. Okay. Do you think that there is footage from your computer that has been recording you this whole time that they could then pull? I imagine if they are watching your computer, it would probably be a flawed camera situation where they could like, there's been still images. Like if that's the case, I don't know if that's the case. I'm out of storage on my phone. I bought two terabytes. There's no way that they're constantly recording and saving and uploading unless that's what the data centers are for.
Starting point is 01:00:15 we are genuinely stepping into conspiracy theory level situations on i'm just asking these questions you know oh i don't know but i don't have you know my fat ass does not have the answer i have always been of the elk like there's nothing i'm doing on my computer like what you're you're watching me with like my face like this on the camera i'm just saying like think criminal minds like could Penelope Garcia access footage taken from the computer even when the computer wasn't recording
Starting point is 01:00:52 if she believes that the unsub committed a crime in front of the computer No, I don't like that's never That's not been done in criminal minds That's not been done in criminal minds That's never come up I also think a big fear was like People being like your camera is on
Starting point is 01:01:05 And like it'll see you naked Then it sees me naked Then it sees me naked Sorry I'm just seeing if Craig has followed me back Has he? Not yet. Did you change your phone back or your phone case for this? No.
Starting point is 01:01:18 Oh. I thought you were going to say, did you change your phone back on to Craig? And that's none of your business. You have they be closer to the mic. No, I don't. These mics can pick up from far away, right? Yeah, these mics can pick up from far away. Okay, sorry.
Starting point is 01:01:32 You know what? I do get like a lot of, I'm sure a lot of people get the FYP. I'm really just scrolling on reels at this time because I have removed the TikTok app from my phone for a little bit one month. and which has been amazing. I had to read download to watch that video of Corinna gagging at her Sephora Hall. Did you see the other one I sent you? No, because I don't have the app. It's just as good.
Starting point is 01:01:55 Izzy, do you have your texts on this computer? Can you pull up the second video I had sent you all of Corinna? Afterwards, I have like a genuine conspiracy theory that I'm pretty like I'm not tuned into, but it is amazing to me that so many people, so many people, so many people, people with Instagrams with families believe this one and they're commenting with their chest. Oh, I'm curious. Oh, you need to do.
Starting point is 01:02:19 This is the only person that if they had a podcast, I would listen to it, I think. Corinna and Jonathan Groff. Ours is about nothing. I woke up. And you're wondering why do I sound like this? I'm wondering. I woke up and I was coughing and I think I choked on my throw up. And I can still feel it.
Starting point is 01:02:41 Like there's still. something coming up. Call us back. I'm trying to drink juice. I have Crack O's heel to try to absorb it, but I really do not.
Starting point is 01:03:01 That's not a good way. No. To wake up from a nap. Another thing. Is your stomach just then? Another thing is. She goes quiet to let it speak.
Starting point is 01:03:15 I think it was also maybe her throat. Boo. That I'm just sitting here and I'm like hearing and hearing like something I see like an Amazon drive. I'm London going. They back into my driveway. I thought they were backing into the house. So I was like panicking. I'm like, no, this is not great.
Starting point is 01:03:49 Love her so much. I thought they were backing you into the house. This is not great. Can I see the comments? The comments like... I thought they were backing into the house. I think I hear it coming, girl. Are we ever okay?
Starting point is 01:04:08 Dancing on live 30 minutes after posting this is so funny. She's just like, I just... Like, I have the impulse. Every time I even, like, am a little bit nauseous to, to... And so the fact that she just does it so shamelessly makes me feel so safe and heard. And like she, I would say, she is my influencer. Like she makes me feel something out of everyone. Like I want her on dancing with the stars.
Starting point is 01:04:39 She needs to get a doctor. She has, she definitely has. She shouldn't be nauseous every day. I think it's also just like I'm nauseous every day. day, but, like, I think I'm a lot. She might have Gerd. She might have Gerd, but, like, I'm thinking about being nauseous all day. You know, and it makes me nauseous.
Starting point is 01:04:58 Sure. So I think she has a lot of health anxiety. She's just a girl. No, I know. So, I mean, I, like, truly, like, she's my favorite person. Anyway, what were you saying about your conspiracy theory? Do we have time, Izzy? We just hit an hour.
Starting point is 01:05:16 Do you want to do conspiracy theory and the bonus? I want to do one really quick before we leave, because I want people to let me know, if you have seen this, there's a new thing that people are saying about the sun that during COVID, they installed a new sun. And someone came on and was like, my sunflowers aren't, don't know where to point. They're all pointing different directions now because this is an artificial sun. And Brooke, you say, ooh, like, I hope this person has a really good support system. Their support system?
Starting point is 01:05:48 Right there in the comments. I knew something was off. I knew something was off. I haven't gotten tan since 2020. All those kind of people need is one other person. It's community. It's community building. You can build your community online.
Starting point is 01:06:03 Now, there's no way that it helps that person's mental to be like, oh, my God. I was right. The sun is not, this is not the sun that I grew up with. The sun is different. It's like what do you do? I don't know how to like respond to those types of people. Just like know that that person is going to like Thanksgiving with their family and you could be sitting next to them hearing about how the sun isn't real. Right.
Starting point is 01:06:33 Honestly, I've got I would have one of those at Thanksgiving. Like that would be a real. That would honestly be a more engaging conversation than the ones that I have sometimes at Thanksgiving. Let's just say I have one person at Thanksgiving who believes that, uh, Ivanka. Ivanka Trump's Ivanka Trump's mother is Princess Diana Let's say that Is that not true?
Starting point is 01:07:01 What? That's Prince Harry and Prince William's mother And she's passed And there is someone at my Thanksgiving table Who would say that her and Trump Had actually had a child Well I would encourage you to keep an open mind About Ivanka trunk
Starting point is 01:07:17 Nice one. Legend Legend status Such legend status It's cute as well. It is cute. Okay. Okay, man. I hope everyone really enjoyed that and I'm sure we'll have- I'm sure we'll have a brand new audience next week. I'm scared. You think that was fine to say? Yeah, okay. I mean, it's like so interesting. Please know more of once we get through the hour to be like, do you think that 15-minute segment was okay? Like, if we're going to cut something, we have to do it in real time. I'm genuinely fine now that I've, I've not read comments in months. So I don't know. I don't know,
Starting point is 01:07:51 I don't know what people are saying. Please, if anything... And I won't know what people are saying. If you made it this far and you have something to say, keep it to yourself, probably watch. Something else. I'm curious if now that I've connected, you know, with Craig and Al, and I kind of didn't give them a lot of information about this podcast,
Starting point is 01:08:12 maybe they get curious and they listen to this one. Maybe they have some downtime in paradise. That could happen. I hope they listen to this one. You will never know, by the way this one started. What was to follow? On God. Facts.
Starting point is 01:08:27 All right. Love you, Bug. Bye, guys. Thank you for listening. We'll see you next week.
