Starting point is 00:00:07 Hi guys, we won't have another episode before the Dancing with a Starz premiere. Woo! Yeah. So remember to vote, please. My code's going to be Connor W, C-O-N-N-O-R-W to 2-1. O-R. That's O-R. There's two Connors.
Starting point is 00:00:22 If you feel like voting for me, it's C-O-N-N-O-R-W. Don't give them an option. Please vote for me, Connor W to 21-5-2-3. C-O-N-R-W to 21-5-2-3. Please, thank you. Hi, Dancing Queen. Each episode, I'm going to start with a new greeting. Today is Dancing Queen.
Starting point is 00:00:59 I have next week. And I'll keep thinking until you get that mirror ball. Knock on wood. Knock on this laminar wood right here. Did you have that ready to, like, locked and loaded? Dancing Queen, yes. Oh, you were eager. I was ready for hiding.
Starting point is 00:01:15 You were like when you train a dog not to eat its food until you say, okay, go. Yeah. That was what you were like. I was ready. Like when you throw the ball and it's waiting to fetch, but it can't go until it's said. Yeah. We said we should start recording. You said hi dancing queen.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Like right out of the game. Well, hello, Chica. How are you feeling? I'm good. It's also your birthday episode, kind of. Oh, yeah, it's my birthday episode. Izzy has such like a good read on people's spirits that, you know, I don't want to like blow this one up. Right.
Starting point is 00:01:45 This girl. She did the perfect understated. It's an understated birthday. She knows. If you're listening on audio, we're taking it very chill this year. In fact, I want to go into how chill. I'm taking it in a second. Actually, no, I'm going to start with how chill I've taken it,
Starting point is 00:01:58 and then I want to look at what is he. Because I couldn't help but notice, Izzy put together a Conner's Dancing with a Star survival kit, which I'm going to have to go through. She's amazing. Do you want to go through it now? Yeah, I'll go through it now. Oh, this is so sweet.
Starting point is 00:02:09 Yeah. Thank you. She's incredible. Oh, a couple makeup removers, which is great, because they are putting in a lot. Are you doing full glam, like, in rehearsals? No. What are you doing full glam for so far?
Starting point is 00:02:22 Like the big camera stuff. like the promo shoot we did, but nothing else so far. Okay. Oh, and Good Morning, Erica, we did. You did full glam. Which is so weird. You're still like, you have to take your makeup off. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:34 What is your full glam made up of? They put something all over my face. I don't know what it was. Is it like a tinted cream of sorts? I don't know. I don't know. Are you getting any, like, blush? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Okay. I don't think I'm getting blush. You might be getting blushed. I don't know. I'm pretty flustered all the time. I feel like I've had a lot of time. I have a natural blush to my face. But if you're getting like a base, like a skin tinted base, then your flush would be hidden by that maybe.
Starting point is 00:03:02 And you might be getting new flush on top. Maybe I'm getting blush. And you might be getting blush. So has it got me a bunch of travel size makeup removers, which I'm going to need for that. Oh, a bunch of mints, which is good because you can't chew gum when you have the mic on. I get stopped. Oh, this is good too. BTS, which is this is a good callout.
Starting point is 00:03:21 I'm kind of flop city USA in terms of content I'm putting out I'm doing I'm having a lot of fun with doing sounds and dances and I think that's great but if anyone wants to see like a Because you said you said we could talk about like stuff We'll talk about some stuff today like what we do I don't know what do you mean I said we could talk about some stuff Like you were like I want I have I said yeah don't be afraid to talk about DWTS yeah That's all we want to hear about yeah well you know I woke up and tried to film like a day in my life I'm like oh wait I don't do anything until like like oh and then I just come back and I film a day in your life okay I'll film a very what are you talking about people are on their knees for a day in the life you serious I'm serious
Starting point is 00:04:03 what's that self-tan eraser oh my god that's brilliant so this takes off the self-tan what you could have used that a few years ago the self-tan it's it's weird that you get darker with the self-tanner like the more you put on I was thinking like it would just make it last longer No, because it's like, have you seen that episode of Friends where Ross gets two-toes? Yeah. Yeah. He was an eight. Well, that was a spray tan, right?
Starting point is 00:04:33 Yeah. Yeah. What I did was like a self-tanner. It was out of your makeup bag. I don't pair of ice, yeah. And I did it, and then I did it again on top of what I did because I liked it so much, which that's just like so my M-O is to like just keep going when things are looking good. Yeah. To overdo it.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Totally. Stop while you're ahead. Supple I had. Yeah. And then what had happened was I would, I don't think I was, I didn't, I think I was drinking something and I realized how much I was drooling because I looked like someone's puppet. Yeah. Because I was drooling out of both sides.
Starting point is 00:05:06 And so it looked like I had marks going down, both corners of my mouth down past my chin. And it washed away like the partying, like the parting of the grade C. It did give me that marionette look. You had that marionette like style. I did. Oh, I could have used this Bondi Sands self-tanner razor back then. They paved paradise, they put up a parking lot. Oh, and bless your heart, relax and relief.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Eps and salt for my bath. That's so good. Oh, and Band-Aids. What's cool is that, like, I have already bled so much through, I've actually thrown away probably a dozen pairs of socks just I'm bleeding so much out of my feet that I have to throw away my socks, but I have calluses now. That's good.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Yeah, but I'm sure that they'll come back. Oh, thank you, Izzy. That's so sweet. Thank you. I have a present cooking for you, but it's something that will take some time. Oh, Izzy and you know, I don't like cake very much. Since when do you not like cake very much? When have I eaten cake?
Starting point is 00:06:11 Every single time we've gotten it. Yeah, you have definitely had slices. Why do you think Izzy got me? But you've definitely had pieces of Susie cakes when Izzy's gotten. I was thinking maybe a. No, you've had slices. I maybe have had, I maybe, I've, you've had, I've not had, I take a fork to the actual physical cake.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Yeah. So what part of that's going to make me think he doesn't like cake if you're taking a fork to the whole cake? I'm not taking a big chunk, I'm not taking a big slice of cake. A slice of cake. You eat the cake and you moan and you moan. I don't moan when I get the cake. You definitely have liked the cake in the pot. I say, mm.
Starting point is 00:06:46 Okay, well part of you eating a fork to the cake and going, mm, it's going to make me think he doesn't like cake. Shut up. I like don't want a big slice of cake. That's fine. It's just I don't think you can say you don't like cake. It's not your preference. I know. I prefer cupcakes.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Sorry, I should have. Yeah, no worries. Oh, so you hate waffles. It just has to make sense to me. This is just a dream come true. I know that. I love cupcakes.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Oh, thank you, Susie cakes. Thank you, Izzy. I'm going to have to eat one of those if you don't mind later. No, please. Thanks. I'm on a very, very seafood. Diet. I see food. I eat it. Nice. You've been eating so healthy. I, Brooke, the way I've put on weight needs to be studied. Well, you're probably building so much muscle. No, it's in my face. No, it's not. Yeah. You've, like, I do think you have dysmorphia. What's going on with my shirt? Facial and body. Again. Why? How come every time I start? Oh my God. Don't even have a button there. I didn't notice. I got to keep that closed a little bit. How are you feeling about this birthday?
Starting point is 00:07:57 Well, hang on really quick. I want to start. If you're a new listener, which I couldn't help but knows, there are a few new listeners to the podcast in the past week. We have a very special code. Also, if you're not a new listener and you want a little bite, we have via Izzy, this is a kiss your brain, Izzy, a free month of bonus episodes on the site.
Starting point is 00:08:23 It's TMG Studios. Dot TV slash Brook and Connor, makeup, yes, slash B&TAMAPE? You can find it if you go to TMG studios. Dot TV.
Starting point is 00:08:31 Use code DWTSS to get a free month of bonus content. That's cool. I don't think we ever, we had ever done that. DWTS. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:42 One week. Is it next Tuesday or Wednesday that you're on? Tuesday. Less than one week until you hit the stage. Until you weasel your way into the hearts of America.
Starting point is 00:08:52 My whole for you, Paige, is Connor Wood. I talked to Dylan Ephron on the phone yesterday. What did you guys talk about? He's so sweet. He's like, he's the great. He's the great. He's the great. He's the phone.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Not, not even hello. I don't even know when he answers the phone. Even when he calls me, there's no like, hey, he's like, what did he say? He's opening line. He was starting conversation. Dude, you are killing it. Just like, he would call me like an agent would call.
Starting point is 00:09:21 He's the greatest guy. he's the greatest i'm gonna go see him at some point but um yeah it's very scary and you're gonna be there on the floor yes tonight we're gonna get on the floor i think i'm gonna like i'm really scared and like this is not gonna happen don't don't even please please please don't even say whatever no it's not horrible it's not like i would will something bad into existence well remind you're not gonna like no no no it's not bad But like God forbid you don't get a 10 from each judge. Like I'm scared of my, I will like not be able to like hold in my like expletives on camera.
Starting point is 00:10:03 I feel like like fucking. They go Connor's friends and family with the judge. Like cursing out everyone. My dad's holding you back. Yeah. No, it'll be. I'll be good. Um, that's going to be so funny.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Oh, you're going to be down on the flow. Yeah. I'm excited. I'm really excited. That's going to be so fun. Um, well. In terms of the ratings, I guess like a lot of them are based on like technicalities and I'll be fine with a nine.
Starting point is 00:10:29 I'll be fine with some nine. I'll take a nine. I'll take a nine. Even an eight, whatever, whatever. I don't want to assume below eights. They have to take. No, I'm kidding. You can get whatever you want.
Starting point is 00:10:39 It's just you deserve. You deserve the best. That's very kind. They take. I know how hard you've been working. They, I know. They take skill. I hope they take skill level into account.
Starting point is 00:10:49 I don't know because like, like past. I like yes Like I hope it's on like Like whatever scale that is Yeah I think there should be like There should be a curve of the scale But I do think it's like the whole package Like when Clay Aiken auditioned for American Idol
Starting point is 00:11:06 Like even though he had the vocals in his pocket Simon was like I don't know if you have what it takes to be the American Idol Like I don't know if you have the star power So it really is like more But I mean he proved that he could go above and beyond of course but like it is about more than just your ability to dance. Agreed.
Starting point is 00:11:26 That being said, what we're locking in now and what we've been locking in is like all of the little things because Riley will be like Bruno really looks at like your toes. Whoa. Bruno's going to love you. You know I hung out with Bruno the other night. No, I didn't know that. We.
Starting point is 00:11:43 Is that allowed? It feels like a conflict of interest. I wasn't like, I didn't like hit him up and I went out to dinner with Bruno. Oh, okay. Wasn't like one on one like. No. We had like a big like against the world. It was like a happy hour with like everybody before GMA.
Starting point is 00:11:56 And we all like met and hung out and I met Bruno and then we were heading out and we were on the same shuttle back to the hotel. It's just crazy that you're doing like, oh, Bruno? Bruno. Bruno. The first name. Oh, he's so funny. Yeah. I think he likes me, but I think he's just really nice too.
Starting point is 00:12:13 So I wouldn't know. But I think he'll like the work I'm putting into both my hips and my toe and my hands, the pointing of my hand. Yeah. And as well as the tongue, the teeth, the tip of the... I hear you're working on your smile. Yeah, how did you know that? Oh, you told me. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:29 That's a dead giveaway. Yeah. Yeah. But also, like... That's the hardest part. Yeah, there's some smiling parts and then there's some stuff where you're like, this is not necessarily a smile for this part. You have to kind of like...
Starting point is 00:12:41 Like sexy? Kind of like, yeah. Right. You like that? Right. Your faith has to match the dance. You like when I dance for you? Oh, I don't like that.
Starting point is 00:12:51 yeah I'll reel it in a little bit from there do you like when I dance for you hi do you like when I dance for you hi question hi like when I dance for you freak yeah with the hips and stuff
Starting point is 00:13:06 you do need to deliver a message in that way that's digestible for the masses but it's good it's going really well yeah we are when this comes out it will be technically four days and then the fifth day Well, let's see.
Starting point is 00:13:22 So this will come out Thursday. So I'll have Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, four days of practice left. But like some of those days are getting set up and like not actual like three hour practices. But we were practicing last night rather. He's like I don't want to overdo the practice. We are there. So I don't want to like overdo it. Me, I'm like I need to be doing this dance.
Starting point is 00:13:42 It's kind of like writing, I think, where it's like you get to a point where it's like you have to stop. Because like it's the best it's going to be. And like the more you work at it. like you don't want to get in your head about it. Yeah. We did this fun thing where we did show and tell. Yeah. Where we. Right. Are you guys doing like group like bonding activity?
Starting point is 00:14:02 Yeah. Because you don't know who you're going to be in the studio with at the same time. But Alan was there with his partner G. the chef. Yeah. And then Jackson, Olson. Yeah. Yeah. And his partner Emma were there. And so us three did a show until we did our dances for each other. It was fun.
Starting point is 00:14:24 But it does make you be like ever. You got the size of the comm. Well, everyone, like, you're not supposed to do that. Riley keeps being like, stay in your lane. There's nothing we can do about their dances or whatever. But, oh, I'm like, everyone's so good. Like, what the hell are we doing? Like, why are we fighting?
Starting point is 00:14:39 Wow. We should be out. We should all be performing this. You know how, wait, I like, I did watch dancing with the stars last season, but like not enough to know the answer to this. You know how an American Idol they would do like when they got to the top 12 they would do like a group performance at the beginning Do you guys ever do like a group dance? I don't think outside of the trio. I don't think there's any and then like dedication. What's the trio? Like you bring in a third? I think you bring in a third. Yeah. Wait, I could be getting this wrong. I'm getting everything mixed and jumbled. Like a third like dancer? I could be wrong. Can we like a third? Like a third. Yeah, well, I'm not there yet.
Starting point is 00:15:31 And so I'm trying not to think about too far ahead in case I start. Yeah, so trio dances on dancer to start competing celebrity and their professional partner performing alongside an extra pro to remember a past celebrity champion. Yeah. Whoa. Past celebrity champion. I know who you could do. I'll tell you later. You want me to bring Rob out?
Starting point is 00:15:55 Irwin? Yeah. No, I wasn't even thinking of Rob. Guys, I have to piece so. bad and the timer stopped. I don't know why like suddenly in all that once it feels like I'm actually going to squirt. Okay, go. And speaking of squirt, I'm coming right back with a story to tell you. Okay, cool. All right, hang on. I feel like everyone I meet lately is trying to be smarter with money, myself included cash back here, coupons and points there. But why does it take so much effort?
Starting point is 00:16:20 We all just want to make our money work a little harder. I totally agree, Connor. I love a good deal. But if I actually have to hunt for one or go out of my way to activate a coupon, I've already checked out. Yeah, well, Brooke, I think I found one you'll actually like. Prime for young adults. It's actually pretty genius. It's a prime membership for 18 to 24-year-olds that actually makes Prime feel like it's built for you. All right. You've got my attention, Connor.
Starting point is 00:16:43 But what's the catch? What if I told you there isn't one? I'm talking about 5% cashback on eligible purchases and categories like beauty, apparel, electronics, PCs, and health and personal care. You're telling me this whole time I could have been getting rewarded for the purchases I already make. And with no catch? Exactly. You're not changing your shopping habits. You just get rewarded for them. And the best part, the cashback is automatic. No coupons, no activation, no extra steps. Now that's the kind of reward I can get behind. No extra work. Just getting rewarded for the life I'm already living.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Talking about prime for young adults, 5% cash back, 100% made for you. I'm talking about that. If you're between 18 and 24, or check out Prime for Young Adults and start earning cash back on the purchases you're already making. Prime for young adults is only available for 18 to 24 year olds. Terms applied. Hi, guys. We want to take a quick break to think of sponsor of today's episode. Top chips.
Starting point is 00:17:38 And notice there's no pop chips around today. It's because they ate all them. Yum. They're very good. We kind of were eating them just like during the last time we were filming. And then as a joke, I finished the whole bad. It was a funny joke. It was a complete joke.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Yeah. The sea salt ones were my favorite. They're so good. It's very easy, you guys. You know why, I think? Because they're made with avocado oil. They're super crunchy, bold flavors, and pop chips are popped potato chips. So you don't get greasy fingers, which is important because I'm not touching my phone with snack cans, and I'm obviously going to be on my phone.
Starting point is 00:18:13 It is completely unlike you to touch your phone with snack hands. That's destiny, okay? Exactly. Never fried, always real, period. Hi guys, I want to take a quick break to think of sponsor of today's episode. Warby Parker buying glasses used to feel more complicated than it needed to be. I wouldn't know. I just started buying glasses.
Starting point is 00:18:32 So all I know is Warby Parker, which is like, you know, check my privilege, right? But every time I started looking for new frames, once I started shopping, I'd end up with 20 tabs open, trying to compare prices, styles, and reviews. And somehow I'd still have no idea what I was going to look, like what was going to look out on my face. You know, that's why I become such a huge fan of Warby Parker. They make the whole process way easier. One of my favorite features of Warby Parker is a virtual try-on. You can use your phone to see how different frames look on your face in real time before you buy them.
Starting point is 00:19:01 It sounds simple, but it's one of those things that completely changes the experience. You guys know I love wearing my Warby Parker's on the pod today. They're at home because I couldn't find them on my way out. But my style, the frames I have, they feel modern, they're comfortable. I can sit them on my face, I forget I have them on so I can wear them all day. And they genuinely look and they feel premium. I've gotten a bunch of compliments on them too. someone brought up, and I want to look into this,
Starting point is 00:19:24 the round glasses theory. This is what people have been saying. I don't know if it's a good or bad, so I shouldn't have even thrown that in here, but what really surprised me about my glasses is the quality for the price. Orby Parker's prescription glasses started just $95,
Starting point is 00:19:38 so you don't have to choose between looking good and staying in budget. And they're not just a glasses company. They also offer contacts, online eye exams, and sunglasses. So pretty much everything you need for happier eyes is all in one place. Plus, if you're someone who like seeing things and seeing things in person, they have more than 300 retail stores across the U.S.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Right now, buy one pair of glasses and get 20% off any additional pairs at Warbyparker.com slash BNC. That's 20% off any additional pairs when you purchase one pair at W-A-R-B-Y Parker.com slash B-N-C. Okay. Well, should we finish birthday or should we go to my squirting story? We can come back. Well, I guess let's finish. Let's finish. Let's wrap up birthdays.
Starting point is 00:20:25 Have me circle back. Are we done with dancing? We can circle back on, well, what do you want to? Do you have any questions about it? I mean, like, tons. It is weird. Like, I felt weird because in all fairness and truthness, to be fair, we did record that episode of dancing announcement a week before I had announced it.
Starting point is 00:20:43 I thought you were being, you were being. I think we're okay now. Okay. I like miss, I miss Red House serious, though. Okay. Yeah. I mean Yeah
Starting point is 00:20:52 You kept I was so good I was so good Until I accidentally leaked it When everyone flipped fuck My Hobanichi That is bizarre Broke posted a picture of her
Starting point is 00:21:04 What was it Like a to-do list On Snapchat? I might have been on Instagram Because I've been obsessed With stickers recently So I was posting pictures Of all the stickers
Starting point is 00:21:15 That I put in my Hobanichi And in the page behind it So like there was like a little bit of bleed through that I like truly didn't even see. And like you really couldn't see unless you were like zooming in looking with a microscope. It said DWTS backwards. And like somebody flip fucked it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:35 Brooke text me. He was like, I'm so sorry. Like it's been late. And like and by flip fuck I mean like inverted the image. Yeah. And it said like oh R. DWTS like probably Connor dancing with the stars. because we have like an event that I'm going to with you tomorrow,
Starting point is 00:21:52 which I'm very excited about. But it was in my hope, of course, and somebody looked through. And I was literally convincing. I had had a gummy when that had been blasted out. And Connor, like, like in his defense and honor was really like being really good and scared about it being leaked. Like I posted a picture of my moldy ass chop and he was like, You need to delete that because people are going to connect the dots.
Starting point is 00:22:18 We've recorded this a week ago. So I delete my multi-chomp, all that. He was being, like, really intentional. I'm saying that you were being really intentional. I want to talk about, I want to talk about the introzio story, too. He's being really intentional. Completely made me delete my moldy top. Responded to the picture of my moldy chop.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Delete, period. Delete, period. I ignore it. Text me, please delete. She's doing so, so good with her words. He's being very dedicated. He was obviously feeling very convicted in his ways, right? and it was so, he should be so full of pride that he was this way.
Starting point is 00:22:50 Like, you're, fucking insane. He was being batch of fucking insane. That's what she's trying to say. I was like, Brooke, please delete it. Because I just knew that it was funny and we were going to clip it. And then they're like, wait, that was last week. But yeah, I was like, Brooke, can you delete this? And then I responded.
Starting point is 00:23:03 I said, I don't think dancing with the stars is going to be watching my story and then connecting it to the bonus from off week. Hey, I deleted it. No, but I was like, Brooke, I was just, I responded. I go, Brooke, I get it. Can you please just delete it? And she goes, okay. and I'm like, did you really need the moldy chomp
Starting point is 00:23:20 that bad on your story at the specific time? I'm obsessed with posting on my Instagram story, right? I know. So yes. But like the episode was coming out in the next week. Like that bonus. That's why it's like not, we clipped it.
Starting point is 00:23:33 Not a lot of people have access to that. So I was putting it on Maine. I was just laughing that like we were genuinely getting, we were genuinely budding heads because she needed to post the moldy beef jerky on her story like right then. And I was like, can you delete it? And you're like, why? I don't really see a problem.
Starting point is 00:23:49 I was like, please take it down. Like if it would have been like genuinely like anything else. But I was like it is a moldy like old piece of beef turkey. Like why do you need this on your story? It tells a story. It told a beautiful story. People connected to it by the way. No, I know.
Starting point is 00:24:06 It was like a dom situation. Like this happened to me. Like it helped people feel more. Well, there was one young woman that was like that's so clearly fat separation. And I was like, by the way, I don't think it was. No, I looked at it up close. It was pretty moldy. I know what mold looks like.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Yeah, it was pretty. And I've seen fat separated too. And I feel bad because chomps is like, let me make this right. And it's like, I will still eat chomps. No, I'm going to eat one in my car. I'm not holding it against chomp in any way. Like, food gets moldy. It's fine.
Starting point is 00:24:31 It just is what it is. Yeah. And it wasn't fat separation. I see fat separation every day when I look in the mirror. Well, why were we talking about that on my Instagram story? Oh, because you were being really intentional. So I was so scared that you were going to be so mad at me. And I had had had a gunman.
Starting point is 00:24:45 And so I texted you And I had this whole thing Like planned out like Hey this happened like I'm so so sorry But I think it's okay because I was invited to this event Separate from you so it's not like I'm leaking that you're on it Like I was just I'm going like as an as like an invitee like separate from you And he was like you were like it's totally fine no worries
Starting point is 00:25:07 So that was really like that's an insane And everyone else I was so serious about it Because everyone else kind of leaked themselves because they were antsy but I was like I'm gonna let this slide because I already feel very lucky to be a part of this as like a wild card pick and like I know that there is going to be some pushback
Starting point is 00:25:24 about me being included in this group and there wasn't I wasn't met with that much or I've chosen to not watch things where I can clearly see the person on the other end of the line has an opinion about everything that I've been getting on my
Starting point is 00:25:41 Connor Wood FYP is like people are so excited about you and for you and the people that didn't know you before are already obsessed with you, which by the way, like, I bet that feels really good because I know it feels really good to me when people are like, I didn't know this girl at all before, but like this is, I like this book. Those mean like more, more than me, you know, when it's like, wow, I didn't know this guy at all, but like I really like him. Yeah. Yes, that is good.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Like, oh, like all they've seen is the press line. get ready to see me shake my hip. It's really nice to know that like you still have stuff going for you. And those people I want them to know I'm taking their show very seriously and I'm there and I'm Yeah, that's true. Yeah. Who is this little Tom Holland looking cute comedian man that everyone's calling Papa?
Starting point is 00:26:32 So wait, what is this? I'm scared. Is this just a screenshot of this? Is there more to it? No, that's like the meanest people have been. Okay, so I, I don't, okay. It's all positive. I've chosen to avoid the like, wait until you meet Brooke, 2,000 likes. Oh, to be experiencing. Let's see those replies. I'm sure they're great. My thoughts exactly. That's big dog. Literally, she's made. She's made. Is he trying to, is he trying to scroll past it? Okay. How come? Yeah, it's just so good. And then when I read a couple of good comments, I stop and then I say, cool, it seems like they're all positive. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:14 But what we just did was scroll until we find a negative one. And then now there's like this dark cloud over this specific. No, scientifically, it's crazy how you could read 20 positives and one negative. And the weight of the negative is more than the 20 positive. Correct. So sick. Shoot, I had the funniest thing. Oh, what I was going to say two things.
Starting point is 00:27:36 One, the scary part that you get to is like, the post they're they're analyzing my micro expressions now which is like he clearly blah blah blah like the way he's
Starting point is 00:27:50 I'm like all right where now we like fans no like or people like yeah I just know how this goes you know like you know on the internet when people really like someone and then all of a sudden it just like
Starting point is 00:28:01 it just switches one day like I hope it doesn't change it won't and if it does you just don't look It's hard not to look because of my screen time. Sure. I got that.
Starting point is 00:28:15 My other thing, too, is Papa. Now, I want to circle back to the origin of Papa because I was not the original Papa. Papa originated in me commenting on other people's posts. I was like, oh, this is so Papa. That's not even remotely where Papa came from. No, well, I was saying Papa on other, as like a term of endearment to my friends because it came from my friend group in San Francisco. Papa started with Papa and Lagoon. I know.
Starting point is 00:28:47 But I was using, but like after Papa and Legume, I started calling other people Papa and then people started commenting. Like, seeing my, on like, like a picture of Milo. I'd be like Papa vibes. And then it would circle back. But like Papa E Legume was the origin of us saying it on the podcast. But as a term of endearment, because nobody calls you Legume. I would say some people do, but it's not caught on like Papa. So one young woman was like, if you're looking for the origin of Papa, like, I encourage
Starting point is 00:29:16 you not to even go watch it because you'll leave more confused. Yeah. That's a good point. Can we play Papa E. Legume as like a... Yeah, but this is why people are calling Connor Papa. As a refresher, because I do feel like it's one of those things that has been adopted. You will leave more confused. No, at the scale that it's being used, like there are brands in my DMs.
Starting point is 00:29:36 Hi, Papa. Every brand. By the way, hey Papa. Hey, Papa. Hey, I'm like, this is a, like, random conversation we had in a bonus episode when we were probably like over tired. Yeah. I miss those days. I do too. Well, they're still here. Yeah, nothing's changed. Oh, I don't think this is it because this is with Kat. It's that I don't, I don't care for the clips going viral that are of me looking a little bit different than I do now.
Starting point is 00:30:08 Oh, we have to do I'm gonna send it to you I have it, I can find it. I don't care for any of the pre-invisaline clips. Pre-invisaline? I was also... Pre-invisaline, like, you can tell when I started smoking,
Starting point is 00:30:24 weed. You found it? Legumes. Legume. These legumes have a certain... It's called ba'-be beans. You know, you know, You want me to just like...
Starting point is 00:30:41 Yes, that's this one. You so do. I love beans. And you know I don't like beans. We look young. Baked beans are okay. Baked beans are literally like beans from via legume and then... Oh, la legume.
Starting point is 00:30:59 Beans should be the baby of papa and legume. Oh, baby beans. Wait, because... Was there nothing before this? Like, you will leave more confused. Bonjour, mama. How's it? Baby, what?
Starting point is 00:31:27 Whoa, I just got scared that this was a dream. Something about you doing what you just did. Made me think this can't be real. Wait, did you even say Papa? So this is not even the beginning. Oh, wow. So where did it start? Legumes.
Starting point is 00:31:53 Legume. These legumes have a certain joy of viv. Chau, legume. You have any beans for me? Hello, legume. You have any beans? Good than this. Me?
Starting point is 00:32:04 We did. Cha, papa. Chau, legume. Jay, lego. You have any beans for papa, like you? Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:11 You didn't know what you were doing with that. Papa. Let Papa. Like your bean, legume. Yeah, see, like that doesn't need to be played on our podcast. No, no. That doesn't. It's not like a father figure.
Starting point is 00:32:24 Papa is just like, that's his name Papa. Forgive me. Oh. Oh. I almost regret playing that on the scale. scale that we just did. It will go over well with the dancing with the stars community and America.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Surely. It will touch the beans of America. By the way, I keep saying my mirror ball slipped out just for future reference. Papa touching the beans of America. Tasha, Papa. Toucha. Taja Poppa.
Starting point is 00:32:58 Taja Pop the beans of America with that dance. The beans and the mirror balls. Ciao No we can't Tell mama I It's like Do you have a message for Papa
Starting point is 00:33:12 Ooh papa Started to sweat off of his back Mama Have you know There's like too much pressure for me I can't Oh I know that things are kind of kind of stick around Or it's just like
Starting point is 00:33:26 I don't I'm like too scared to bring it back Because it's like so weighted The stain power I don't it's like writing a sequel Sure Let's leave it. Let's leave it. Like some things don't need a sequel.
Starting point is 00:33:39 Here's what I'll say. I want to say, well, okay, I just want to move forward. I want to tell you the story so I can be done with this story. Because it is, it's almost, it's almost poop on shoe level. Happened yesterday. What happened? What's weird is every time I'm in this specific area of Santa Monica, something goes down. So yesterday, I'm out, I go on a run on the beach.
Starting point is 00:34:03 I come back, I change, I walk over to Earth Cafe. And I'm trying to get more into cherry tomatoes. I usually would order a salad without cherry tomatoes because I think it's ridiculous that like I'm supposed to put this thing in my mouth. Aligned 5,000 percent. It's just not a realistic ask for someone like me, especially if I'm just dipping my tone to cherry tomatoes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:26 To have this essentially like. Look at the goosies that just gave me. You'll notice my legs are also pretty hairy. but if you can look past that at the goosebumps, at the thought of popping a cherry tomato in my mouth and it's squirting in there. Yeah. I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:34:40 And I'm glad that you brought up the squirt. Yeah. The squirt factor. Essentially, you're giving me a loaded gun. You're on my salad. You have a gun in your purse. It is in my mouth. I have a gun in my mouth.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Nice. And so I'm like, they gave me some bread. I'm trying to cut back on carbs if I'm not going to the studio. You need carbs. No, carbs for energy, but not carbs. So I'm trying to do complex carbs before Tyler Cameron told me this. Okay? So like this is so it is true.
Starting point is 00:35:08 This is scripture. This is sign. So I, you do complex carbs pre and then after you do vegetables and protein. I got that. Um, so I am like, you know what? I'm an adult. I got this bread. I'm gonna put some butter on it.
Starting point is 00:35:22 I'm gonna put the cherry tomato. That's how I'll eat the cherry tomato. So I put the cherry tomato on like a little slice of bread here. And I, I bite and I take half the cherry tomato. It was a big one. And I bite down. So I'm against a wall on this side, on my left side. On my right side is patrons of the restaurant.
Starting point is 00:35:42 I'm sitting. I bite into it squirts. Scurts. Scurt on the patrons. Back of a guy's neck to my right. And like I saw it squirt, but I didn't see in what direction. Luckily, he hit the deck as if there was an active shooter. Gone.
Starting point is 00:36:00 He goes, oh! Like loud. Oh! And I look over her mouth. There's, like, this church made it all over, leaking out of my fate, like this. And so, like, I was going like this, like, what were that? Like, what could I ever be? I'm leaking.
Starting point is 00:36:14 There's stuff coming out of both sides of my mind. Like the time that I had farted in class and said, who did that? Pretty much exactly, because I wasn't about to be like, my bad, I squirted it on your neck. Yeah. And I'm going, and like, it's so, he turned to me. And, like, I'm like, what could, like, maybe that was a bird, you know? I looked to my left. It had squirted it on the wall next to me as well.
Starting point is 00:36:35 So like it was very clear that it came from my plate. And when he turns and looks at me, I look at him and I go, he's my old neighbor. And I was like, he did not remember me. And I was like, we were, and he's like getting the cherry tomato off the back of his neck. He will be fine. Wiping it. And I was like, we live, I used to live on Franklin.
Starting point is 00:37:00 And he was like, did you use? And he was like, I lived, yeah, I did. But he was on a date. And so I just kind of let it play off. But I looked like an insane person. I squirt all over the back of his neck. And then I started up a conversation. Like it was like a, it was literally like a, like a.
Starting point is 00:37:14 What else could you have done? Said sorry? Well, you had already like. You know the nature of a cherry tomato like that's. You'd already kind of denied. It's an unpredictable nature. It's like you really can't go into. You can't go into the realm of cherry tomatoes and expect to have a grip on the reins right away.
Starting point is 00:37:35 don't know why I would do that in a public place. What's the difference between a cherry tomato and a grape tomato? I didn't, I've never heard of a grape tomato. Seriously? I don't think so. Have you, Izzy? Cherry tomatoes are round, juicy, and thin skinned. Well, grape tomatoes are oblong, meteor, and firmer with less liquid.
Starting point is 00:37:54 Okay, so maybe I should have opted for a grape tomato. Part of me thinks that you did. No, it was one of those big oblong. Oh. I think. Oh, my gosh. It was a grape tomato. Grape tomatoes.
Starting point is 00:38:07 are actually what they typically put in the salads, I think. Yeah, it was meteor. But it was all over this guy's neck. He had a seed, actually, on his neck. That's how much squirted. Yeah. Like, that's how much force. I think that was probably a good tomato to those that enjoy those types of tomatoes.
Starting point is 00:38:22 It was clouded by the rest of the experience. I was pretty horrified. But my new mental state is like I'm on an SSRI. I'm so calm, I think, because how tired I am. Are you on an SSRI? No. Oh. I said it's probably of that elk.
Starting point is 00:38:37 like I'm just kind of like oh my gosh surely you understand that was the cherry tomato that squirted on you and nothing that I did intentionally yeah but that was kind of that was fun I don't know it wasn't my worst Tuesday it sounds like it sounds like a good time I'll take it oh dude what I'm just so sore there's no way to sit where it doesn't hurt me you're it sounds like you're on your way to doms but you don't quite have doms yet no it's old injuries from like when I played soccer in high school yeah yeah some inflammation. Yeah, it's stuff that like my knee,
Starting point is 00:39:11 I hurt my knee, and then I was like, well, I don't need to get it fixed. I'm going to college. I never use my hip flexor again. And then what you don't see, if you're in, if you're in your early 20s, or if you're even younger than that,
Starting point is 00:39:24 somehow listening to this podcast, if this podcast came across your desk, and you have an injury or something that you're like, whatever. Like, I'll never use my hip flexor again. Please don't say that. You might be on dancing with the SARS and say,
Starting point is 00:39:37 six years. Yeah. Take care of your injury, ice your knee, stretch. Oh, I can't emphasize. Like you'll still need your body in your 30s. Life is not over. Yeah. Because what happens when you get that dream job in the city and you're sitting there the whole time and your only escape is your co-ed kickball team. And guess what? You hurt yourself now. You don't ice it. You don't take care of it. Guess who's sitting out the first six games because you strain your hip flexer and you've already paid the $175 and you have the stupid t-shirt and you have to go sit there and watch your team win or lose. Not fun. Have some foresight. Well sad.
Starting point is 00:40:22 Very well said. I want to hear something crazy? Yes. The first class. Jesus. Nipples out. out the first class of preschoolers that I taught once I graduated college. Ooh, I don't want to hear this.
Starting point is 00:40:38 It's pretty bad. If you had to guess what grade, they're starting without like doing the math or anything, what would you say? Seventh grade? Sixth. Yeah, that's not cool. Twelve years old? They were three when I met them.
Starting point is 00:40:50 They turned four throughout the year. Naturally. As any three-year-old would. And now, how old are you when you're going into sixth grade? 11. 11, 12. That's horrible. That's like really, really bad.
Starting point is 00:41:06 Okay, I have two things. And they probably, they don't know who I am. No, not only do they not know if you were to remind them, they would not give us shit. No. Well, maybe they would because of you. No. Preschool's unfortunately, like too young to remember. No, I'm saying they might not care, but those, that level kid to be like, my, my, that's my preschool teacher.
Starting point is 00:41:26 And she's like, she has a podcast. I don't know if they're. would care. I think they would. I don't know about that age anymore because Kat was telling us the other day when we went down, we went down to see the babies. And Kat was saying that she went to a wedding and she was sitting there and it was her and then there was like this high school girl that someone of her family, like her cousin or something. And all the like little, the young kids, the 11 year old, 12 year olds were like flocking to this 18 year old high school girl that was like so cool to them. And she goes, that was the first time I felt that like, because she's like, I feel like the cool older girl that like all the young kids like flock around.
Starting point is 00:42:08 She goes, oh, I'm just like a, I'm just like an adult to them. Just a woman. A woman to them. Oh, that's. Yeah, it's definitely, you know, we're getting older. Like, because like we could be the parents now. Don't say that to me. We could.
Starting point is 00:42:25 Which is what's hard. Yeah. I will say like something about being 30. Like when I was in my 20. I like I think I or like anytime like high school and college and 20s like you're focused on like growing up and being a quote unquote adult you know and now I like want to collect as many stickers as I possibly can like there's part of me that's now like given up on the whole like I need to be an adult thing because like that was what my 20s was about and now I'm like really connecting with my inner child in a way that's very liberating. I can't stop ordering stickers. all kinds of stickers animals stamps jules those aren't even stickers no like stickers of stamps stickers of stamps it's like stamp like stickers jules like like like gems do you have a stapler that i could
Starting point is 00:46:50 staple my shirt you don't need a stapler oh i'm gonna do this um well that's whatever it's i i don't even want to like, I don't want to agree with you because I want it to be like your thing, but I did watch cartoons the other day and I was like, oh, like I can, I can relax. I was watching adventure time. I was watching adventure time. Yeah, no, I get it. And I'm there with you. Yeah. It's just really weird that like in my adult life, I'm dancing and I'm watching cartoons, you know, someone, someone, do that if you want. That's what your 30s is about. I posted on my Snapchat story and I was like, on my way to dance. On my way to, on my way to dance. practice and someone said me in fifth grade yeah exactly thank you before when i was in my 20s
Starting point is 00:47:34 i would have been like that's an insult now thank you for saying that no i'm very blessed that my current full-time job is dancing and talking and mine is playing with my stickers oh my god i have got to take you to sticker planet in the grove oh would love to i didn't know that they had their they didn't know they had a brick and mortar they have a brick and mortar in the grove in farmer's market. They're doing really well. It is and like stickers are like this all this like stationary sticker like planner stuff is in now. People are celebrating it as it should be celebrated. Sticker planet is constantly hustling and bustling. It's the size of this of our set but smaller. Oh it's in the farmer's market. It's in the farmer's market. It's in the farmer's market. Connor for whatever
Starting point is 00:48:22 reason sticker planet is 48 degrees warmer than the outside temperature. Yeah. I. I, So is the, by the way, so is the hot sauce kiosk area. Like, you can't help but faint in Sticker Planet, but it makes the experience, like, that much more intense. It's an intense. Get it and get in and get out. Get as much as you possibly can, as quickly as you can. Oh, I have got to take you here. Oh, I'll go with you today.
Starting point is 00:48:48 I have the day off, by the way. It's too hot to go today, I think. It's 100 plus today. You want to go tomorrow? Oh, you know what? I can't. You dance. But even on your break, we could go.
Starting point is 00:49:03 Well, tomorrow's the event. Tomorrow's the event. Let's go Friday. Hey, fuck it. Let's go Friday. Well, you know what happens Friday. What? I don't know how much I can say. Whatever, I'm going to say it.
Starting point is 00:49:14 So Friday, we go into the physical room that we'll be dancing in on premiere night. And you can see, that's public knowledge where that is. I can say that it's right next to sticker planet. Yeah, but I have the whole day blocked off because I don't know when they'll need me. and we do camera blocking. So like when we dance, we move this way. That's why I got to have my smile down. And I'm going to do some winks in there.
Starting point is 00:49:34 And they're going to block it for like, we need a camera here for this part, camera here for this part. They turn this way. One thing Riley's really good at before we keep moving is using the whole floor. So what you'll see is that we are moving and touching almost every corner.
Starting point is 00:49:46 So if you're sitting there, it doesn't matter what side you're on. At some point, we're walking towards you, which is going to make me throw up on you. And then I'm going to. Oh, wow. It's freaky. It's going to be amazing.
Starting point is 00:49:57 But yeah. If I have a second, I would like to do that. Yeah, I can just literally, I can make that happen. And then Friday's my birthday, which is fun. So I have to, well, so I made a part of full last night. I've never made a part of full. It actually was very, very frustrating. It was actually very earnest, your invitation, which surprised me.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Well, because do you know that I was about to cry when I was making it? Because I couldn't figure out how to crop the picture. No. The title of my partiful is Connor's birthday. I know. It was very earnest. I didn't know how to do it. Like, I don't know, like, because then I started looking at other, so then I would have made it for you.
Starting point is 00:50:32 I keep looking at other people's. And every time I'd click out to get inspiration on other people's, it would make me start over the thing. And so it was Connor, but like everyone else is like, mean mama's mamma jamming 40. And I'm like, what do you? It's like Dylan's drunk ass, like, 50. I almost said 15th, but it's not, it wouldn't be Dylan's drunk ass 15th. But it's like all these like very fun puns. And mine was Connor's birthday.
Starting point is 00:50:54 And then I was like, should I do a lot? And then I was like, cringe that like, I'm sitting in my room. making like a pun for my birthday title and then it was like no when you have to zoom out no and then I was like no when I look at yourself when I look at other people's and then I'm like how do I make a thumbnail and then none of the thumbnails like felt earnest enough for me to be like I don't want to put like a bottle of like let's go out girl or like you know like it's happy out I don't know so then I was like I'm just going to get a picture of me like having fun and I did it and then and then I was like and then I was like I'm inviting people that like
Starting point is 00:51:27 I'm going to invite the cast the dancing my co-workers now and so I was like I should probably explain like what this place is that we're going to you invite all of the cast members yeah you know that I only invited seven people on the part of full I do know that because I had a few people reach out to me asking why am I not invited to everyone's like why is cat being one of them yeah cat texted me was like why the hell wouldn't you I go cat I invited seven people and then I wanted to cry
Starting point is 00:51:51 because I figured I had to invite other people and so the seven people invited all of them except Matt King. Matt King said no. Will he be out of town? He'll be out of town. He'll be at a bachelor party. Matt King and Patricia are like, POV, I'm invited to every wedding.
Starting point is 00:52:07 POV, Matt is truly like my, one of my closest friends. And the way that we have connected over stationary and stickers. Yeah. And this new hobby has been so profound. And I get sad when he,
Starting point is 00:52:25 He's out of town. Oh, that's true. Truly. Well, he can't come. That's so sad. But yeah, everyone was like, it's just like, I can't believe Partifle is the new standard for inviting people to stuff. It's really, really crazy. I was like, this feels like, no offense, Partifle, like, little.
Starting point is 00:52:42 Impersonal? Impersonal, kind of tacky. And everyone's doing, like, AI invites. You know, it's like a picture of them. It's like they're, I just like, I'm just like, this is kind of like, but I guess that is like the new. What else are you going to do? It's like the new Facebook page. you know, Facebook invite.
Starting point is 00:52:56 Yeah. You have to have a particle. It works. It works. I didn't mean like tacky. Like weird. It's just like I can't believe there's not another option. They have cornered the market and it's still hard to use.
Starting point is 00:53:05 You know? Well, the other option used to be like an Evite via email. Okay. Well, that was really hard for me, Partifle. I just like don't really know what to say. And I didn't want to do a big thing. And it's funny that you read the Evite and you were like it was very earnest. Like I was just trying to explain the venue to people who,
Starting point is 00:53:25 it would be cool if the cast came, but I don't see a lot of them like really endeared to come because it's like not like a fancy place. But we'll see. They might want to have, they might. Hey, they might want to let loose.
Starting point is 00:53:39 Who knows? And that's that. And then we'll brush right past my birthday and go right into the premiere. Wow. I'm so excited. What a big week. I know.
Starting point is 00:53:53 I'm so excited for it to be over. Once I do my dance. Then you have another one. No, then I'm like, I'm not worried. I think this dance is pretty good. I think that we are so dialed and we're really in sync and it's really fun. And then I feel like I can start having fun because people are like, okay, he's taking it seriously. Like, he nailed the dance.
Starting point is 00:54:09 Now I can like really like, because now I'm still feeling like I need to prove to the people that don't know me. I feel like for the people that listen to the podcast, you're very aware that I'm working on it and I'm doing all the stuff. But like people that don't know me, they will see. and then I'll hopefully win them over. I was going to say something else. What? Oh, I'm going to be posting. I guess when this comes out tomorrow,
Starting point is 00:54:39 I'm going to have a donation matching post tomorrow working with Matthew McConae's Foundation. What does his foundation do? Just keep living foundation. What does just keep living do? It's kind of a catch-all that is for inner city kids, It's high school kids, students. For like across.
Starting point is 00:54:58 It's like a kind of overarching. It's what I was looking for. It's getting involved in. It's so awesome. That's Matthews. But Matthews. M. Matthews.
Starting point is 00:55:09 Matthews. But keep an eye on that too. I need to figure out how I'm going to link it or why. Yeah, for my birthday. That's right. I think it'll be really fun. It's like a big, it's a big week. But then my parents will be here.
Starting point is 00:55:22 When are they coming? They're going to come in the day before the show. They were going to come in early, but it's too hot in L.A. It honestly is. Yeah, I was like, genuinely, I don't even want you here. I was going to clean out my car today and now I guess, I'll never be able to, I don't know when I'll be able to do that ever. So, no, you can't. Um, okay. I, I do want to mention Nathan Fielder's new documentary. Yeah. With Elizabeth Holmes. You know, did, was it us that we were talking about like, what is Nathan Fielder up to?
Starting point is 00:56:00 Like he was like a couple episodes ago, not recently, but I remember us talking about Nathan Fielder and we were just like, he's been weirdly quiet. I'm just surprised like I thought this was going to be, you know, he was pictured like something. Was he coming out of jail? I think he was coming out of jail from visiting her, like maybe like a year ago he was pictured doing that. So this has been suspected, but I always figured it was going to be for the next season of
Starting point is 00:56:24 the rehearsal, not for a documentary that's going to be in theaters. Can I also really quickly, I have a lot of trouble with Elizabeth Holmes and remembering what the evil part of what she did was. She, I know that she, I know it. She lied about, she inflated numbers, some numbers, but I forget which numbers she inflated. No, she basically lied about like the tech. She, it was like the, what was it called? Theranos, it was like a blood. Blood test. Blood test where you could like get a lot of like info from just a prick.
Starting point is 00:56:55 And she just, they didn't have the tech. Nice. They didn't have the tech, but she lied to the investors and then just got a fuck ton of money from them. Okay. So my question is, I get that like lying is bad, but like, why didn't they double check? Like, that's as much on them as it is on her. She just says, I have really good company. And they go, here's money. Why didn't they double check? You're thinking of Anna Delvey. She's not the one with accent. No, the accent that I did is just like, I do that accent all the time. Okay, Elizabeth Holmes. I have really good tech. And they're like, okay, here's the money. Why aren't they running background checks on this woman? Like, she was Anna Delvey in a way because, like, who are these people giving her money? Are they going out and golfing and getting drunk? And then they're like, here's the money.
Starting point is 00:57:39 What was she arrested for? Like, what, is it perjury? No, that's fraud. That's it. No, I get that fraud. I'm just saying, why didn't they double chat? Was perjury lying under oath? She's not under oath.
Starting point is 00:57:51 No, I know. Raising a round of money. How do you not, before you give people money, unless you're writing it off? off or like you're trying to move money around illegally like I really like I could be so wrong I think she had like really elaborate like false data that she was pumping out you're flubbing the I just she was flubbing everything but if you're giving someone money if I'm giving someone money I want to see I want to do my own research I'm like you have people that do that I just can't believe that they sent you I feel like you're victim blaming who was the victim the people who were
Starting point is 00:58:27 conned out of their money. The massive, like, BlackRock? Who, who gave her money? Like, I'm sorry, it's like, I don't know. It's hard to feel bad. It kind of, I feel like, like, it's a, like, I'm saying that I don't have all the information. I'm just saying, like, and she's rightfully in jail for frauding people out of their
Starting point is 00:58:45 money, but I don't know, like, I'm confused. I get that. Elizabeth Holmes raised roughly 900 million. I was kidding when I said. She's not like Bernie Madoff that like, it was like Betsy DeVos, like it's fine. But. Yeah. Like she like there wasn't like an like a lower class
Starting point is 00:59:01 No no no no no class group people that like lost their homes and had to like I don't think so I don't think so I think she was scamming like millionaires and billionaires former U.S. Secretary of Education and her family contributed a hundred million dollars How did they have a hundred million dollars by the way like I feel like there's more stuff to look into on this? Can I be honest? I don't like really know I wish I did she conned Robert Kraft of Kraft mac and cheese. No, of the New England Patriots and, yeah, and mac and cheese. Is it the same person? I've met him a couple times. He's old as a sponge.
Starting point is 00:59:38 You've met him? When my cousin was the... Oh, I forgot about that. Yeah, I don't really know. Like, I don't think... I feel like she's not the kind of criminal that people are like... Please look at these investors. Can we scroll up a little bit?
Starting point is 00:59:52 I'm dumb, okay? I'm very stupid. I'm very stupid. Oh, my gosh. Rupert Murdoch. Okay. The Walton family from Walmart. Betsy DeVos. Robert Kraft. Tim Draper. Angel investor put in 500,000, which is... No, I think people look at her in a similar way that they look at Annadelvie, where they're like not like super pissed. High profile media moguls, wealthy families, venture capital firms and prominent politicians.
Starting point is 01:00:23 No, people I think... People have the same sort of like, okay, girl boss attitude towards her, I think. even like, yes, she's a criminal. She's a business woman. But like she, she definitely didn't. I don't want to get in trouble for this what I'm saying. And I'm essentially relearning this, but like this kind of feels like to me,
Starting point is 01:00:44 if you were to be learning about this at the beginning, she conned politicians and venture capital firms and wealthy families out of money. Maybe if you just, say if you switch the words to like she's putting this money towards research to create this company that does amazing things with blood testing like that's a that's a martyr you know like that's like that's like her defense I think she was planning for the tech to work I'm confused it kind of feels like they I don't know what her intentions were besides fraud but like and she she's she's willingly admitted to being like to doing all this stuff but like if say she was who she said she was then it kind of seems like there's They're putting someone behind bars that had the capability to help people in the healthcare field. I think there was like a little bit, something a little bit more sinister. There must have been.
Starting point is 01:01:39 Like she was definitely like it got to a point where she was like really like woke up every day. Like how can I get the most money for my fake tech? I mean that does sound fun. But I mean how does like capital blue cross, Amera Health. Cart peritosh. Yeah, how did she make it this far? Sorry, like, you do look into... How did she make it?
Starting point is 01:02:05 How did she make it as far as she did? You need to double check. I'm sorry, if I'm... I'm not an investor, but if I'm an investor, I value my money, you know? These people, like, when you look at, like, a Betsy DeVos... Why did no one double check? She probably was looking for a quick turnaround on her money,
Starting point is 01:02:31 like a quick investment turnaround. Huh, okay. I'm sorry. if I'm wrong, just like heads out. You she used the 10th secrecy, high profile political backing and the unique trust-based culture of Silicon Valley. Okay, so it was, it was Anedeldy.
Starting point is 01:02:46 She was shielded from technical standard review. She claimed her blood testing technology was a proprietary trade secret, which allowed her to refuse independent laboratory testing. So, yeah, at some point, you do have to blame the investors. Yeah, but I'm sure it was kind of like a... You do have to victim blame.
Starting point is 01:03:05 I'm sure it was kind of like an and I'm sorry to bring this up, too, but Intimidation and control. This is the bad part. Okay. Inside there, no, Holmes and her partner, Sunny, used aggressive legal threats, surveillance, and employee firings to silence internal whistleblowers. But, like, that's not why she got fired.
Starting point is 01:03:21 She got, or that's not why she's in jail. She's in jail for the fraud, not even her internal policies. What were Elizabeth Holmes charges? They hate to see a girl boss. Two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and nine counts. of wire fraud. Wait, what's the wire fraud? Then probably transferring the money $100 million into her offshore account. Oh, understood. Understood. Wait, what was she actually using the money for? I figured she was just using it for the
Starting point is 01:03:57 wait, yeah. What was she doing? Why do you need that much money? Hi, Elizabeth uses the over $700 million she raised from investors to build, operate, and market for her blood testing stuff. Right. Rather than a functional prototype. And market. So she was marketing it to, I guess, outside people. So then that's when you start like losing the trust. I forgot about the Walgreens of it all. Money went toward rolling out commercial wellness centers inside Walgreens
Starting point is 01:04:36 stores where consumers could walk in for blood tests. Okay. Wait, I'm very confused. This is where you lose it. This is where you lose it. Were people giving blood like proprietary? Were they giving like DNA samples to her? What were they doing with the blood samples?
Starting point is 01:04:48 That's what they were saying is like they were just sitting in a lab. Like she wasn't ever. like using the technology. Oh, that's very funky. Funky. Well, people are just sitting around like, I need the results of my blood test. So there may have been lives lost because they put trust in her company that wasn't operating.
Starting point is 01:05:07 How long is she in for? 11? That's like not a lot. And I feel she'll get out early. I think she'll get out in good behavior because she's pretty. So I'm definitely curious as to what Nathan Fielder is going to do here. marry her honestly
Starting point is 01:05:26 kind of a I think she's married I ship Elizabeth Holmes and Nathan Fielder I think she's married I have like a really fun conversation to potentially have with you if you have anything to contribute this does seem up your alley
Starting point is 01:05:40 yeah it's a shift away from where we are right now that's fine do you remember when bands used to make music for movies yes did you know that accidentally in love was made
Starting point is 01:05:53 for Shrek We've had this conversation. I just came up across my desk again. Yeah. Can we look up classic songs that were made for movies? Iris was made. No, it wasn't made for a movie. Connor, we've had this conversation too.
Starting point is 01:06:07 I don't recall. The lyrics of Iris are the plot of the movie that it's made for. We'll look into that. Okay, so Over the Rainbow by Judy Garland was Wizard of Oz. I knew that. Moon River was from Breakfast to Tiffany's? Okay, these are all like. Mrs. Robbins
Starting point is 01:06:24 These are all like unk I of the Tiger was by Survivor from Rocky Don't you forget about me Breakfast Club classic Take my breath away Top Gun I have nothing by Winnie Houston
Starting point is 01:06:37 My heart will go on No that was Titanic That was written for Titanic Well I think like Accidentally In Love was like You play that and it reminds me of 2008 you know Accidentally in Love
Starting point is 01:06:51 I was gonna do that for karaoke Iris by Google Dolls was written specifically for the 1998 film of City of Angels. I don't know that one. But it's about, it's the lyrics of the song are about an angel who is giving up his life in heaven for this woman. Can we pull up the lyrics to Iris? Is I give up forever to see, to touch you? Wait, it's like, the plot is actually like deeply upsetting. I give up forever to touch you.
Starting point is 01:07:21 Because I know that you feel me somehow You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be And I don't want to go home right now We need to close this We need to close this. But then he ends up becoming alive And then he gives up for life And then she dies or something
Starting point is 01:07:34 She dies I was trying to make it to the end of the episode Have a bite of this cupcake And I can't Go ahead. Have a bite of the cupcake You're watching me Like lose self-control
Starting point is 01:07:44 It's okay Have a bite Wait what is the TikTok sound Have a bite of the cupcake Whoa We're gonna have to look into this the bonus. Wait,
Starting point is 01:07:54 I really quickly, what's the plot of City of Angels or whatever it is? What is that? An immortal angel named Seth. Why would they name an angel, Seth? Sorry,
Starting point is 01:08:11 you lost me. No. An immortal angel named Seth who falls in love with a mortal heart surgeon named Maggie Rice. Who wrote this? And decides to give up his wings
Starting point is 01:08:24 to experience human life. Hindsight is 20-20. Seth watches over. Maggie Rice, a dedicated surgeon who becomes devastated when a patient dies on our operating table. Their eyes meet during surgery and Seth becomes deeply captivated by her humanity and vulnerability. Humanity and vulnerability. There's some sort of romantic irony though because something about him giving up his immortality. Just as they finally unite and experience physical love, tragedy strikes when Maggie is struck by a truck while writing her...
Starting point is 01:08:55 Oh, because she doesn't have her angel anymore. Oh, no. Seth has left heartbroken. yet he does not regret his choice because even a brief moment of feeling human levels so it's worth killing her it's basically worth like being immortal isn't all it's cracked up to be but like that's the romantic irony of like he gave up being an angel like maybe he was her angel oh but he killed her she died basically because he stopped he gave up his immortality for selfish reasons to be able to touch her because he gave up forever to touch her ew yeah that's a Seth move.
Starting point is 01:09:33 Seth, the angel. The audacity of you to come down and touch her and then she gets hit by a truck. That worst first date ever. Be like. And then Iris is playing. And he's like, well, guess I'll download Bumble. Crazy concept.
Starting point is 01:09:49 Concept. Concept. It's a concept. Stupidest book. Okay. All right. Well, it was nice talking to you. It was a dream.
Starting point is 01:09:59 I'll see you. I have to say, well, I'll say. Well, I'll save it for the bonus. What? Save it for the dance. Save it for that. Save it for the what now? You want to remind everyone?
