Starting point is 00:00:24 You ready? This is going to be a good one. Are you ready? Yeah. I'm like, oh, sorry. I can't, like, to me, this is like the start of something new. Because like now I'm podcasting with like a cast member of my favorite show. And I feel like crazy.
Starting point is 00:00:47 Hi guys. Welcome back to Brooke and Connor make a podcast. Yeah, we're in like, we're in a different studio today because we had to, um, the scheduling has been just well we had to recap nights one and two of the ballroom and we couldn't do that with our regularly scheduled programming
Starting point is 00:01:06 so we are recording on a different day which brings us to a different studio right totally fine right anything literally anything anything for DWTS that's so fun genuinely yeah not to accidentally shift gears into a dancer
Starting point is 00:01:23 of the stars podcast that is what it is That's what it's going to be for the time being. Sometimes things are out of your control. This is a Dancing with the Stars Recap podcast. We have tried. Welcome to the Dancing with the Stars recap podcast starring Connor Wood and his co-host. My partner. And his partner and double sentence.
Starting point is 00:01:42 Good. Which we'll get into all that. We're going to unpack all of that. Yeah. Things you can look forward to in this episode? Shit like that. Yeah. Yeah. You think we're going to leave it in the box? No, we're unpacking it.
Starting point is 00:01:56 I want to take us back way before that. Sure. I guess I kind of want to take us back to just, I mean, you freaking made your national TV. Well, I guess you were on Good Morning America. When did we do this? We did this. When did this is the last time we recorded this podcast?
Starting point is 00:02:15 Last week. Here, right? Yeah. Yeah. But I'm just saying you made. Oh, on TV. Yes. Since you were, since we recorded this podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:24 You've made your debut. Sure. On like a massive platform on national television. Excluding your appearance on Good Morning America. Yeah. You're your TV star, beloved by the nation. The young, it is sweeping the young nation. You've completely swept inside of the hearts of the young nation since we last spoke.
Starting point is 00:02:47 How does it? Tell me how that feels. What did you say last? Flicking the beans of the young nation. Wait. Cute. You can see. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:54 I don't want you to police yourself just because you flick the beans of the young nation. All right. Screw it. Yeah. Yeah. I did it. Yeah. I did it.
Starting point is 00:03:04 And I don't care who knows it. You like, okay. Just like very quickly, like, how are you feeling? There's no time to, there's no time. There's no time to talk. You'll have to email me. I feel like you haven't even been like on your phone. You've been on your phone a lot.
Starting point is 00:03:20 What are you? Yeah. Oh, I just feel like you even view my Instagram stories. Oh, my. No, we're probably having one of those things where it's just like, it's not coming up. It's not coming across my desk first. Like, I'm already shadow band to the guy. Wait, wait.
Starting point is 00:03:33 I'm completely like, like, first double tennis now, shadow band. No, that was out of my control. Do you want to just, should we just do that part first? Double tennis? Yeah. Stop doing it. Double tennis. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:45 So number one. Yeah, no. So. Tell them what happened. Well, should we, let's just do the whole. We'll just start in that when that comes. comes chronologically. We could do that.
Starting point is 00:03:56 I think it's horrible for the people that are tuning in for the first time for like an organized chronological recap. Yeah. Okay. If you're tuning in for the first time, first of a welcome. We're shoes off household.
Starting point is 00:04:08 Yeah. No, we're not. Leave your shoes on. Do whatever you want. We're a do whatever you want household. But like some people might take off their shoes sometimes and they might fiddle with their toes. If they want.
Starting point is 00:04:20 Connor is doing Javier. Yeah. I have flip flops on. today. You got to put yourself first. Also, people like, Javiernas are coming back in. I do want to say I was, I was on the forefront of the Javierna's Renaissance and the flip-lops are coming back in. It may be uncomfortable for you, but that has nothing to do with me. Completely. I totally agree. I think you can wear jeans and Jans and Javianas now and or maybe even some pants. I think so too. And I also think you have, you have nice feet in terms of like the kind of feet that men have. Yeah. So I think you have some
Starting point is 00:04:54 way. Thanks. I appreciate it. Yeah. Like for so long I had been in foot jail because I wouldn't allow myself to be out in public because truly since college actually since I busted my toe. Oh yeah. Remember when I busted my toe? Yeah. And then I go to class I could only wear Javianas flip flops on my left foot. My left foot and they had wrapped up almost in like a cartoonish way my bloody toe because I busted it open. and I remember getting on yik-yak. If you know, you know. And this girl that was definitely in my class in my classroom, he was like, there's this disgusting guy that only wears one flip-flop
Starting point is 00:05:39 and his toe is bleeding every day. Which he can do. And it was like, baby, you think I'm putting my bloody toe into a slip on checkerboard van? No, I'm able. I'm willing, but I'm unable. Completely. And so I had this big, like, genuinely, it looked like, when Tom would drop like an anvil on Jerry's toe
Starting point is 00:05:58 and it would get bo-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b- I mean I'm sure you're going to get some more busted toes as the season goes on yeah such as in addition to when I the night before the premiere I think we should start chronologically okay all right take us back to the night before the premiere how you were feeling during rehearsals etc and shit like that okay I'll just say like we've we've been in even when we were like not announced yet that's when we were going to the studio. Right. Every single day.
Starting point is 00:06:27 And I had to wear this freaking Addison Ray. Take us back to the visor mask every day driving in. And I do want to also really quickly say like, everyone's like, oh, they leaked. Like, why do they even do that? I was undercover. I don't know who the whisperings of like me being on. It was definitely someone in the industry. It was not me.
Starting point is 00:06:47 I mean, yeah, you were good. And you were like the first to know. But I was so good because I was. Mostly because I was like, I know people are going to be like, and who is that? You know, like, wild card. It's okay to have a wild card. It's okay to be the wild card. It's okay to be the wild card.
Starting point is 00:07:03 And I want to touch on being the wild card. Having zero expectations is a beautiful place to live. Yeah. Not an athlete, never claimed to be one. No to answer to your answer. Never said I did. You can only exceed expectations. What an amazing, like this is what I said last week.
Starting point is 00:07:20 I think they had a lot to lose by having me on. I had only gain. You know? You could only meet or exceed. Yeah. And I wanted to like, because I knew people were going to be like, and why did we do that with this young man? And I want to be like, I'm going to show you.
Starting point is 00:07:34 Yeah. And show us all you did. I'm going to prove to you that I'm in there every day working. I took us off. But anyways, we were showing up every day. It was 115 degrees. I had to get into my hot car and they made me wear a hoodie. Cover my face.
Starting point is 00:07:47 And then the visor and it was, and sweats. So I was just like, drenched and sweat pulling in. Finally, Dumois leaks. Connerwood leaks. And I was kind of like, you know, a part of you was like, I'm on Dumois. Yeah, I'm on Dumas. And it was like, this is 100% Connerwood. My name, Connerwood, I look at it closer.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Everyone's like, how do you know this is Connerwood? His hand, his hand, the hand in question, completely couldn't be more of a woman's hand. It had French tips. It didn't have French tips. But it wasn't your hand. French ass tips. Anyways, it was a woman's hand. It couldn't be more of a feminine hand.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Do we know whose hand it was? I think Tatianas. Um, 100% Are you being curious? Yeah. That one was me. This one was me. Because I wore,
Starting point is 00:08:32 I wore a different color hoodie every day because I didn't get the like, the, the bat, the box with all the gear to be hidden the whole time. I was bringing my own hoodie to work. I didn't know that everyone else was given a free hoodie. But I brought my own and, uh, I appreciate Dumas always. Dumas has been here since the beginning days. They have always been there for you. and they called me comedian,
Starting point is 00:08:57 which I appreciate. Because I know that I'm the influencer on the season, which I take pride in. There's nothing wrong with being an influencer. I feel like, um, uh, you,
Starting point is 00:09:08 Sarah. No, no, no, no. Oh. Never mind. Sarah Jane.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Sarah Jane, yeah. Um, she's like reality star and model. Okay. Because they have their son, Hulu. I feel like there's no, like, true influencer this season. like there's no Alex Earl
Starting point is 00:09:25 yeah you're the comedian you're the comedian well yeah so that happened and then what was I what were we talking about how did this end up? I was just asking you about like what rehearsals were like what you were feeling the night before like how you felt like you were doing how was dress
Starting point is 00:09:41 rehearsal you saw I think you should tell us about what happened during dress rehearsal yeah and I'm glad to because of where we're at yeah tell us what happened during dress rehearsal so we practiced to stand so much that like Riley made this video right before that was just like day one rehearsal versus now and you see this day one version of us practicing this dance which is like no dance experience I don't know how Riley like got up
Starting point is 00:10:03 the following day and was like time to go to work only Riley could because I was a loss cost truly like I was stepping on my but when I saw your footage of very early practices I didn't think you were bad at all but seeing them compared to where you landed was insane. I know. It was bizarre to see that. Yeah. She posted that. We have been working on the dance for like three or like two and a half weeks.
Starting point is 00:10:33 And then some most lead up you get like for a dance. It's the first dance. You get two and a half weeks. And we had it nailed. Like genuinely, I sent you a rehearsal video. I was like, this is like nuts. I can't wait to do this on the stage. Right.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Now when we're practicing the studio, we don't have, the mechanical bowl was a late ad. Sure. We don't have the mechanical bowl in the studio, you know? So that adds, if you think about the. song that we've been practicing to nailing it to the beats now we've got an additional four seconds added to the top of the song so now it's like and every second matters and then so in the what you don't hear on the tv is it goes click click click click and it's like i'm getting off the bowl i have to think of where i have to be per click and it's at the beginning of the sun's only got two days
Starting point is 00:11:14 on the bowl and then the stairs which we don't have stairs in the studio and then the hat we never we weren't practicing with the hat so it's like four things before the dance started and then you have to hit that first beat on the floor on the flow on the way to the lick of stow so it was like all new stuff so we go in for camera blocking is what it is and that's when like what you guys see on tv it's like there's 12 i don't know how many there's there's gotta be 12 cameras and so when you look you cut and you look and they're close on your face this way and then you cut this way and this is a far out how you to look at the cameras while you're dancing it's it's it's i think it's a, I'm making this up, by the way, that I didn't ask any questions, but like, I think it's a two-for.
Starting point is 00:11:58 They don't want to show bad dancing on TV. That would just be like a nothing burger, you know, TV. Like, no one wants to watch bad dancing. I feel like they would want to show someone mess up if they mess up pretty badly, you know? I don't really, I don't think that that would benefit them at all. People would be like, I'm not, you know, like, this is not, this person is not taking it seriously. No, like, if someone falls or something, that's good TV. That's like, instant replay. That is good TV, unfortunately. But like, just messing up, flopping a whole dance. Like, like, which is I'll just get there. So you get three tries on the Saturday leading up to.
Starting point is 00:12:30 It was Saturday this week. I don't know when it's going to be, but moving forward because it was a two-for, two-night special. But the camera blocking, one, you get to be like, okay, for this, this is a close-up on my face. I really want to look because that's everyone watching and voting. It's like, you know, if I'm going, I like it, I want to go, I like it. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:12:50 I like it. Turn. Boom. and then two I like it here I love it here and then what if I want some more of it agreed so that would be like
Starting point is 00:13:00 kind of a push out and then they're also like spinning around you so there was that I you guys we got three tries there is not a chance on the planet I could have messed these up more by the way these
Starting point is 00:13:17 like I'm missing the first beat I'm skipping like I don't know how many how many like sections of the dance there were probably 15 I was missing like seven
Starting point is 00:13:29 like of this dance that we have nailed to perfection 100 times you got the yips I got the yips badly for dress rehearsal etc camera and like I don't have
Starting point is 00:13:40 performance anxiety like I've never had that in my life there was not even that many people in the room when I did this I messed it up and that gets sent out to everyone and I don't
Starting point is 00:13:51 I'm just like, oh, they're all going to get this and they're going to be like, we made a pretty massive mistake. And then we come in day of the show. After practicing, I'm like, okay, that was like, that was a, it was the day after my, it was the day after my birthday. So we had done karaoke and stuff and like, I'm like, maybe it was a sleep thing. Like, I don't really know. Because that wasn't until late afternoon. It definitely wasn't like a, okay, like early morning wake up. It was late afternoon.
Starting point is 00:14:19 So it wasn't like a, I was just trying to like make up an excuse of why that could have happened. Yeah. And then the day of the show, we go in and we had a couple tries not in our costume. And I nailed it. I was like, oh my God, it was the, it was the yips. And where was, where were you practicing? This is in the ballroom. This is in the ballroom.
Starting point is 00:14:38 It's day of the show. Okay. You nailed it in the ballroom? Nailed it with the stairs, with the bull, with the hat. And then we put our costume on. Where did you go wrong? 10 second time. like genuine 51st dates
Starting point is 00:14:55 Drew Barrymore Hi, where am I? Hi, Connor Riley's like Why are you introducing yourself? 100% brand new to me dress rehearsal So we do it I'm like I mean there's when you get out
Starting point is 00:15:11 There's always like we have one more rehearsal like I'll just get at that time And then I'll feel good It's making me sweat again even thinking about it There was no more one more tried the next try was 5 TV. You're in the crowd. My parents are in the crowd.
Starting point is 00:15:26 I was like, oh my God. Like, I blew it. You know? And he had texted me this that like he, he completely messed up. I couldn't. I was so sick to my stomach. I'm sorry to say this for the new listeners, but like I was, I was made. I couldn't get off the toilet all day.
Starting point is 00:15:41 I was sick to my stomach. We started leaving to go to the ballroom. Connor we had to turn around as I was extremely sick. No. I was sick in my chair at the ballroom. You came out. You couldn't look at me. I couldn't look at you.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Like it was like I was sick. I mean, I was just like, this isn't even funny. You know, like I was like, you know, like a lot of times you're like, oh, if I messed up, it's like, oh, you know, that one time I blew it round, you know, round one of Dancing with the Stars. But it wasn't funny. I was like, I don't think I'm not looking. I don't truly like I've never been to war. Totally. Totally.
Starting point is 00:16:21 I was in the line of fire. Like, I was genuine, like, I feel like everyone I meet lately is trying to be smarter with money, myself included, cash back here, coupons and points there. But why does it take so much effort? We all just want to make our money work a little harder. I totally agree, Connor. I love a good deal. But if I actually have to hunt for one or go out of my way to activate a coupon, I've already checked out.
Starting point is 00:16:45 Yeah, well, Brooke, I think I found one you'll actually like. Prime for young adults. It's actually pretty genius. It's a prime membership for 18 to 24-year-olds that actually makes Prime feel like it's built for you. All right. You've got my attention, Connor. But what's the catch? What if I told you there isn't one?
Starting point is 00:17:01 I'm talking about 5% cash back on eligible purchases and categories like beauty, apparel, electronics, PCs, and health and personal care. You're telling me this whole time I could have been getting rewarded for the purchases I already make. And with no catch? Exactly. You're not changing your shopping habits. You just get rewarded for them. And the best part, the cat's. Cashback is automatic. No coupons, no activation, no extra steps.
Starting point is 00:17:25 Now that's the kind of reward I can get behind. No extra work. Just getting rewarded for the life I'm already living. Starting point is 00:20:56 Radio City Musical, like I've done crowds. I have never felt what I felt that. I can't imagine. There's genuine, like, I think that I could have been a heavy, heavy smoker for the, for my, since I was six years old.
Starting point is 00:21:13 and I think that I would have lived longer than whatever, yeah, whatever show day did to me on my, on my, on my longevity of my life. Yeah. Anyways. I really can't imagine. Come out. I'm talking to everybody. It's just like, it was just like, I got, went nonverbal. I was like, like, I had accepted that.
Starting point is 00:21:38 Okay, like, it didn't look that bad on camera blocking because they did help me out. but like, you know, like, I don't know this dance that I know. Mm-hmm. When you think you know someone and it turns out you don't. Fives. Turned on me.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Yeah. And then you're like, oh my gosh, what's that next part? Because you're thinking of it in your head and then I'm like, oh, now I'm going to think of it when I get out to that part.
Starting point is 00:21:58 And then when you're thinking of what's the next part, you miss the part that you're doing. Yeah, it's pretty gnarly. And the chacha that we were doing is like a very, it's a harder dance. That's why like, I think people like
Starting point is 00:22:09 to do that one at the beginning when expectations are lower. Can you explain, like, did they tell you to do the cha-cha or you pick it? No, the songs, you know, a song lends itself to a style of dance. Okay. So I didn't even know that. Yeah, so like if I tell Riley, this, you know, all I wanted was you by, all I wanted was you by Paramore. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:33 What's on? What is that? She's like, oh my gosh, that's a samba. Like she can just be like, what beats in her head and do that. And now can you do a chacha again or you're done with doing chatt-haws? I hope I never have to do I'm just kidding No it was fun
Starting point is 00:22:44 I enjoyed it I will never listen to Tim McGraw again Sure No fault of his own But I think it would I think it would genuinely like PTSD me Unfortunately now it's one of my favorite songs
Starting point is 00:22:55 The other thing that happens Is the live band plays the song So it's not the song that you've been practicing to it's a live band And it like you're in a room with different acoustics And because of the adrenaline You feel like you're they're playing slower And so you're going faster It's very bizarre
Starting point is 00:23:11 but got out there on the bowl Look straight at my... Rewind for a second. How are you feeling as all the other guys were performing before you? Because you were sixth I didn't care for that.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Like I wanted you to go pretty early because the anticipation was like really... Would have loved it gone first. How was the anticipation for you and like watching all the other guys? It was fine. Riley's in a really good job
Starting point is 00:23:32 of being like stay in your lane like there's nothing, that has nothing to do with you. Everything scoring is all things considered. You know? Like someone that comes in that's a professional dancer They're considering that.
Starting point is 00:23:42 They're going, how are you elevating that? How are you getting better? And what are you bringing presentation-wise? All this. And then for someone with no dance experience, they're like, from where you came to now, that's what they're judging and, like, what you did out there. So they are grading on a curve. It's curved per individual.
Starting point is 00:23:57 It's not, it's not, I don't think it's even like blanket statement curved. I think it's like based on, it's like pretty tailored. Yeah. Okay, I'll just tell you. So went out there and I walk by you. I throw it's like closing. Yeah. I know how the story ends.
Starting point is 00:24:10 I know how the story ends. So walking out there and like I'm looking at Riley, we're walking out together and then we get up on the bowl and I'm looking and it's, but the package is playing. It's my first time seeing the package. And honestly, truly to God. Can I ask what the package is?
Starting point is 00:24:22 Voice to God. Me being like, hey, I'm Connor and this is me and Riley meeting and it's on the screen and playing. Oh, that's the package. And you have to watch that while you're going out there and I'm just going out there like shut up for a second. Like I'm a feeling like surrendering like whatever or like you were still like nerves to the gods?
Starting point is 00:24:41 There wasn't a better situation that had to happen where you truly were like, like, letting go and letting God right there, being like, whatever happens right now just, like, is going to happen. Like, that is just it. And the best thing you can do is be like, just like stand up sometimes if I'm like, oh, there's a big crowd. I'm like, at 7 p.m. right now, you have 40 minutes set or whatever. By 8, you will be heading home and getting in bed.
Starting point is 00:25:05 Strategy. And I'm thinking about dancing at the stars. I'm like, in one minute, you will be, you will be backstage and people will, have moved on. Yep. Although now with everything, I don't think people move on as quickly as you would like to think, especially the people that watch dancing and how online everyone is. And it seems like everyone is actually recording the show on TV.
Starting point is 00:25:27 Yeah. Like they're like filming their TV. Yeah, like the concert. Yeah. Which is just like, okay. The Chacha is very individual. So like there's a lot of parts where, you know, I'm moving in my own. And then Riley and I will meet up.
Starting point is 00:25:40 And then we switch. You just are switching. It felt like switching into different styles every single time. But I'm up on the bowl. Up on the bowl. I look straight to see my dad. He's laughing, which is just like, come on.
Starting point is 00:25:51 Don't laugh. He was so proud of you. I know. It was really amazing to be in that space. I'm sure it was great for my dad that was in the military to watch his son dance. Connor, it was. Like,
Starting point is 00:26:04 it genuinely was. And he has known that you have been able to work this crowd since you. you were five years old in the school play. That's what I'll say about that. What did he tell you? That when you were five years old in a school play, not only did you memorize all of your own lines, you memorized the lines of everybody else.
Starting point is 00:26:22 Yep. Yep. And then he knew. You're born to entertain. That's an entertainer, baby. That I completely agree. That's my entertainer. There was, so we're doing the dance.
Starting point is 00:26:33 There's a part of the dance floor where if you said today, like you caught the beat. Did you say that today? I caught the beat. No, that, like, I was, oh, no. I don't think I've ever said that. I don't have a sense of beats. There's a part where, like, I kind of lost it for a second.
Starting point is 00:26:49 I slipped. Oh, I didn't know. My toe slipped. And, like, I'm supposed to do a sharp stop. And I did a sharp stop, and my toe took, like, six more inches and was out. And then I did. In your boot? In your heeled?
Starting point is 00:27:02 Snakes can cowboy boot your toe with that? In my true Mayflower Stepas, I slipped a little bit. And I told them to it. I was like, this part is, I'm slipping every single time only right here. And no one was really using that portion of the dance floor. No, they were, but like, I think I might have just been like using so much of my toe that it was actually my top of my shoe that was catching. But caught it and we got to like the towards probably like 75% of the dance. And I smiled it rather than I was like, I was like about start laughing.
Starting point is 00:27:31 I was like, this is like the one that we get all the way through. And I know there was some like timing issues and stuff, but like I was truly just like overjoyed to have gotten through the dance. dance. Joy on your face when you finished. Like it was, it was mirrored in the crowd. Like, it was like you could tell how happy you were that you did it.
Starting point is 00:27:48 It was, I mean, it was so good, Connor. But I, I didn't even catch one second that you were off, by the way. I smiled so big and she goes,
Starting point is 00:27:57 not yet. I saw her going, not yet. And we got through and then she fell down on the ground because she really, Riley is the most positive person in the world. She was kind of like, stone face,
Starting point is 00:28:08 like. you know next season will be my season yeah she thought you're unfortunately rightly this season is your season because we're going all the way baby oh my god you're going all the way we're gonna yeah we're gonna go all the way oh absolutely oh i know that you are going all i how was the crowd Connor i was like legitimately like I don't know like I was so in my own body only and like so freaked out and like only looking at you and just like experiencing probably not all of the nerves that you were, but like pretty much all of them.
Starting point is 00:28:43 I don't know how the crowd was. I think good. Really? Probably good. If I had to guess, yeah, probably great. I'm so scared. There's this girl that keeps posting. I was in the crowd at the dance with the stars premiere.
Starting point is 00:28:54 Here's the real crowd favorites. And I'm like, oh, I can't watch that. I don't want to know. Oh, no, I'm sure the crowd loved you. We were screaming. I do want to say to, I can't explain to you what it feels like to mess up the dressers on being like,
Starting point is 00:29:08 and they're all watching them. like, what are you doing? You know, and just being like, I know I can do this dance. Two, I'm feeling fine. And then, like, right before our dance while we're getting ready, I get a push notification on my phone.
Starting point is 00:29:20 I am not signed up for push notifications from Google. The app. I don't need an internet push notification. What did she say? Page six, Tim McGraw falls on stage while performing. I like it. I love it. In Las Vegas. I have an image.
Starting point is 00:29:40 I screen shotted it. Tim McGraw takes hardfall on stage at Cincinnati concert after arriving 40 minutes late. I'm like, that is a horrible omen. That is bad. That's bad. Honestly, God, that's bad. But you didn't let that get you down. No, I did let it get me down.
Starting point is 00:30:00 I was really in my head. Wow. Living all of that just like. No, and then watching last night and just picturing like, when we went to get our scores, I was like, they could give me one. I'm okay with that. Like, we got through the dance and that's what we,
Starting point is 00:30:14 well, that's what I wanted to do. Let me tell you my favorite part of the dance if I meant. Oh, yeah. Like, you were like sexy, sexy. Really? And I don't use that word lightly. Wow. Like the way when you were behind Riley
Starting point is 00:30:26 and you were like, you had your hand like going up her leg. When I was slaying? You were like slaying the house down. Snakeskin boots, slipping your toe out. Like that, I was like, oh my God. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:30:39 Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my gosh. That was fun. It was like, Connor, I was like, like, freaking out. Oh. Like, I, and I keep thinking about, like, if I was in an alternate universe where, like, I didn't really know you. Like, I would be like, I like him.
Starting point is 00:30:57 I would be, like, texting Connor W. Like, pretty freaking frantically. You know me. Yeah, but I'm just saying, like, if I didn't, like, I would have, I would have latched in that. I would have latched, which is pretty. scary to think about. From the ballroom? From my couch at home, I would have been latching onto you from the ballroom. Like, it's scary to think about, like, what could, what could have happened in that alternate universe. Wow. And, like, what my DMs to you could have looked like in that space.
Starting point is 00:31:25 Isn't that scary? That's a bone chilling. Isn't it bone chilling? Yeah. That's, like, kind of like the movie in time. It's like the movie in time. And then you called me last night, and I was like, oh my God, Connor Wood is calling me. Stop, bro. I'm serious. It's like really crazy. I'm serious. Well, seeing you guys in the crowd,
Starting point is 00:31:47 that was just like, that was nice. Good, good, except I can't ever look at you guys again. Totally fine. Because I could tell you guys were freaking out. You guys were doing this smile like this. Well, now I'm going to be fine
Starting point is 00:31:56 because I know what you're capable of. Yeah. And I know the way you can act under pressure. Our dance next week is going to be really fun. Like, I could have performed our dance next. week today. Are you doing any sexy moves next week? Pretty sexy dance. Is it sexy-er? Is it sexier? The whole thing is sexy. Like it's like I and like I keep seeing sexy. It's just a more
Starting point is 00:32:17 sensual dance. Awesome. I'm so excited. I do want to say so like when I really started getting in my head about the dance it was when Riley was like now it's time to look at time to use your face. And like someone like Jackson Olson, the Savannah banana, you He can he's like a big like, uh-huh, yeah, smile, like, wink. Like, so I'm like, I got a wink. I got to get a wink in. I look right in during that freaking line dance at Carrie Ann. And I go, and I wink at her.
Starting point is 00:32:50 And you did not give her the ick when you did it. Okay. We got to talk about the delivery on that line. I would love to get into that. So wherever the judge, the first one that we talked is Carrie Ann. Usually when people move their body in a strange way. that I've never heard her deliver a score like that usually this is literally why your tooth brown I'm serious speak like that usually when someone moves their body in a strange way and I'm like this
Starting point is 00:33:22 y'all hearing this yeah I'm like what could she say and I were both sitting there going okay okay okay yes it gives me the ick and I'm so like how are we going to land this plan yeah I want to help you land this plane together. She goes, did not give me the ick. But what I'm hearing out there is like, when someone moves their weird body, like you are moving your strange weird body, ew?
Starting point is 00:33:47 You know, like that's what I'm hearing when I'm up there. Like usually that would have been ew. But the way you did it. You know, I'm sure they hear like whispering of the dresser on the rehearsals that like I wasn't performing well at. And so I'm sure that she was ready
Starting point is 00:34:02 to deliver like a different message. And then so I think that she was like, I was pleasantly surprised because she was basing it. And then Derek Huff also said I was pleasantly surprised. Like I think that they were like, oh, we got to change our tune because of turn it on. I don't remember what Bruno said. Did you rewatch and watch the judges? You should. I don't think I will.
Starting point is 00:34:22 I think you should. They were like loving it. Really? Yes. The funniest thing I was hearing about, I was talking to him on the side because we were going up together at the beginning. and I was like he was like I don't know anyone's name man and I was like do you know the judges he's like kary ann I was yeah and then I go what's the guy's name and he goes darrell hug I go yep uh he's in it for a good time not a long time I love buck I don't I don't know like people are kind of Andy rick during his ass I don't
Starting point is 00:34:53 I don't think so as much as I love deeply he like he jokes around a lot like he's like proud of himself it's very awesome like he literally should be he literally comes up to me you know when you're down there you get up and like then you hit it you know like and then I looked at him the other day and I like saw him down the hallway and he was practicing and oh he wants it like no he's working hard he I think he's got a definitely a few more shows left for sure yeah I love him let me just see yeah and then so I mean I was sweating out of my head which I I've never really done I want to look into sweating out of the head like what do you mean out of your head it was coming from here here down it was it was literally like in a movie when someone's nervous.
Starting point is 00:35:35 When they're like counting cards at a casino, it was sweating from here. Yeah. My noggin. From your scalp. My scalp. Yeah. Everyone was so good too.
Starting point is 00:35:44 But in terms of like watching people, obviously like Ezra is my brother on the show. Like that is who I like spend like a lot of my time with. Yeah. And we just hit it off like day one in the lot when we were doing my promo shoot. And he was just phenomenal. Like he's a phenomenal one I want to say he's he's phenomenal like he's he's made for this obviously like athlete obviously handsome as hell like beautiful man hey guys we want to take a break to thank a sponsor of today's episode goodles mac and cheese is one of those foods that will always hit for me it's easy comforting and sometimes you just need a bowl of mac and cheese these days my go to is goodles because it gives me everything i want from mac and cheese but with

I don't live here. I need a little cup every now and then. I just need a snack. I keep them sock because when I'm busy at dance practice, I don't have time to get lunch.
Starting point is 00:36:49 I forget to eat y'all. They're ready in minutes, you know? So my favorite is the Chetty Mac. It's like classic. It's super cheesy. And I'm always craving. I told you every now and then you just need some cheese, you know? Exactly.
Starting point is 00:37:00 It's delicious. Each cup has 10 grams of protein, and there's fiber and prebiotics, plus vitamins and minerals from real plant sources. Like I was out the other night and we were sitting and we were looking at the SARS and I was like, I'm going to, I need to figure out what star that is because we were having an argument. I was like, that's the little dipster, the little dipper. And I am pointing, I'm like, oh, I need to get that app. I got the app. It charged me $49 for the annual subscription.
Starting point is 00:37:50 And I was like, I'll cancel that. Guess who didn't freaking can. It's been like four months. Guess who didn't cancel the thing. I'm just a little bit stupid like that. Starting point is 00:41:04 Entertainer. He's got it at all. She's so great. Love him to death. He has a best family, too. Connor, I was sitting, we were sitting next to them, and I was, like,
Starting point is 00:41:12 sobbing, watching them, watch him. I know, I'm, like, always talking to his mom. His mom, like... Most beautiful woman I've ever seen. Stunning. That whole family. And then his brothers come up.
Starting point is 00:41:23 Hi, whereas... No, I know. They all look the same to different heights. Ezra's brother. I'm Ezra's brother. I go, I thought you were Ezra. Yeah. I was like, how did you change so fast?
Starting point is 00:41:34 I thought he was doing, I thought, sorry, now that I'm a dancer, there's a car horn going off. And I'm like, five, six, seven, eight. You're starting to hear the beat with everything. No, but when I saw Ezra's brother in the crowd, I was like, oh my God, is he doing, like, like a secret crowd piece? Like, is he doing like a flash mob with, like, lookalikes? Oh. I thought he had looked like scattered with him.
Starting point is 00:41:58 threw out the grind and I was like, oh, those were brothers. But, I mean, that dance was the last dance I saw before I went out. Yeah. So I was kind of like, what if I fell down the stairs? Like, would that be so bad? And then I was like, yes, because they would play my dress rehearsal as my like, if you get hurt, they play your dress rehearsal as the thing they score for. And so I was like, no, I need to go out and kind of do this thing.
Starting point is 00:42:20 And it happened. And then it was good. And then. It was amazing. Thank you. That's very, very nice. Okay. So then we go to the press line.
Starting point is 00:42:27 The press line's so funny. Obviously, like, I'm sitting there. No, you went to do your interview up on the platform. That's what I want to talk about, my interview. Yeah, let's talk about the interview. I was so happy that we finished the dance that, like, everyone was like, this is the chance, like, for people to get to know you. And for Jules to be like, how is the competition so far? And I said, competitive.
Starting point is 00:42:49 You're doing Jules? Jules and I, yeah. Okay, I didn't know you're doing Jules. Jules goes, how's the competition been so far? This is that your time to be like, I am here doing this for my daughter. Yeah. am here doing this for this community of people i am here because they said i couldn't be here i go she goes how does it i said good i mean you didn't you didn't lie no i mean i wasn't up there to lie i was on
Starting point is 00:43:13 such a high that like the questions being asked were just like let me let me let me go let me let me let you let me go I didn't like the scores I was like I am so content with what we did out there that I don't you can score me one I could go home and I'm like I'm good with it but like the story that I'm telling was not told up there that last that evening do you know the story you want to tell I think so I think yeah I'm excited you helped me with it yeah I'm excited to see your narrative yeah and I think I can start saying it here it's just like everything that I've ever done has been kind of like a joke and I laugh at everything and this is something that I care about and I'm taking seriously and I think it's just like telling a different. Sorry to myself. Vulnerable and earnest. Very vulnerable, very earnest. You know, it was like weirdly validating for me the other day? What? Timothy Shalamey posted a photo dump from his hike with his dad.
Starting point is 00:44:04 Okay. And I was like, yeah. You connected to that? The caption was, hike with my dad. Yeah. And I was like, yes. And I'm dancing. You know, like, Timothy Shalamey is hiking with his dad and I'm dancing.
Starting point is 00:44:19 And I'm working hard and I'm stretching and I'm, lifting and I'm going to physical therapist, Timothy. That was weirdly like, this is the year of being earnest in our work, you know, and not just being like, I'm very stupid. This is the year of doing vulnerable things. This is the year of saying I'm very capable. I'm very, very good at what I do and I can try new things too if I want to. I can. I can and I will.
Starting point is 00:44:45 Yeah. Last year I was on the other side of that obstructing pole. This year, I'm on the other side of the pole, baby. I'm on the floor. Tonight we're going to get on the flow. Yeah. Awesome. Anything else you want to address about the interview?
Starting point is 00:44:58 Yeah. Address about the interview. One, like, I totally see you and hear you about, like, being in the zone about the work that you have been invited on to promote. And then the podcast coming up and being like, let me get back to like, but like when someone was like, or whenever they brought up partner. I don't think they did, sweetie. I think you brought that up on your head. Oh, no. Whenever they brought up, like, where's your head at?
Starting point is 00:45:21 I was talking, obviously competitively. I think that this is the funniest thing in the world because now we're going to, we're going to go to that in a second. But when they're like, I'm like, I've just never had, just thinking about how Riley is just as like in this competition. Tell them what you said and then you can, and then analyze it. I've never had a partner before. Before, like, except in doubles tennis.
Starting point is 00:45:41 No, doubles tennis came later. Oh, well, okay. I don't remember what I said up. Okay. Let's play it. Let's play it. No. Let's roll the tapes.
Starting point is 00:45:47 Okay, go ahead. I don't want to. No, I don't care about. I don't care about this. If you could even pull up a transcript, I don't care about what I said. I can't see myself from that night. Okay, that's fine.
Starting point is 00:45:55 It's like triggering. But I will say like, I am not, I was not, I was thinking in sport, you know, like I wasn't, and I've never,
Starting point is 00:46:02 we've never called each other, my, my, my podcast partner. I feel like, I've called you my partner. I don't think we've ever said, well,
Starting point is 00:46:09 regardless. I've called you partner and like a life, my life partner. You are my safe space and you are my partner here in our home when we're sitting here
Starting point is 00:46:16 and when we're working, you know, like this is great and like as in life as well like but like we've never been in a competitive situation i don't think we would i knew what you meant i know i've you coming up right away and being like never had a partner and i was like what are you talking about like i literally had no idea what you were talking about i'm sorry and i'm sorry i'm sorry to have done that and i was like i don't know what you're talking about like i genuinely had no memory of from the end of the dance I remember Carrie Ann
Starting point is 00:46:47 and then I don't remember being up at the sky deck and or anything after that. Like it's weird what blacked out. But anyways, now we have. Now we're even because I had done something similar. Simular and specifically when you were on Good Morning America. Yeah, today's show. Today show.
Starting point is 00:47:05 And it was so now we have. So would you rather? Yeah. Oh, it's nothing daughter? Or I never had a part of it. partnerless son. Partnerless son. Someone said that.
Starting point is 00:47:19 We didn't coin that. Someone said that on TikTok. Yes. Shout out to her. Yes. So you know, we're going to do merch for the first time.
Starting point is 00:47:26 We are. We have to do timely merch for the first time ever. But the fun the funniest part about no partner to me was that you did a second interview where you also said
Starting point is 00:47:34 I've never had a partner. Corrected yourself. And you said, oh, well, except for in doubles tennis. That was my favorite part. Yeah. Well, now you understand like in terms of like, you were at a sports mindset.
Starting point is 00:47:45 Fourth mindset. You and I also want to say like, we are dream team truly like doing this. I don't think we would compete well together. Uh-uh. I just don't think that we would. Yeah. I wouldn't want to because like that's just not like I would,
Starting point is 00:48:02 it wouldn't be fun and we're just like in this house we're all about fun. Yeah. I love you to death. You came up about 1100 times in other like in other parts of the interviews. Of course what they clipped was partnerless son. Partnerless son. Because obviously, and by the way, that was very, very fun up until the one person that needs to ruin it by being so strange. Like, you guys were having fun.
Starting point is 00:48:24 Y'all can rest easy knowing that we were laughing about it. We are not only, we are not, it is not only everything, but partner full. Here's what I'll say about that. I did, I did react live time and cat elbowed me so hard because I didn't realize there was a camera in our face. Oh, wait, is it on camera? No, it's not on camera, but if it was, you would have seen me go, never had a partner before. Like, okay, this is one of those things where truly like, I, like, do not make that connection because I don't, like, I don't know. Competitively, we've never, maybe we should try to be in a competition together.
Starting point is 00:49:05 I think we could do something like. Maybe we should do traders or something. Wait, I want to talk about traders because, well, I think we could do something. because, well, I think we could do something like, are you smarter than a fifth grader together? No, we tried, and that did not work. No, but I'm saying we wouldn't, like, hate each other based off of that. I think we would hate each other if something like dancing,
Starting point is 00:49:23 if I was your dancing with Starz partner. Who was I? But, like, you're, like, going to be on traitors. I don't know. That's just how it works, baby. Like, you're going to be on traders. I would love to be on traders, but I don't know. Would be fun.
Starting point is 00:49:38 Like, that's awesome. Speaking of Mara Hagan's dance last night, it was amazing. Incredible. And Rob was there. And Lisa. He spoke to Rob. Yeah. How was that?
Starting point is 00:49:53 Rob's just like a, he's just like the cutest little, like I love that he, I don't know if I'm not to say this way. He's like playing a character. He's a very, very sweet guy. And like his like kind of like solemn like, yo, what's up? Yeah, what's up? He's like a very nice outgoing.
Starting point is 00:50:09 Is he like a little, like, is there like bubble to him? Yes. Like he's a little bubbly? Yes, he's bubbly. Wow. Saw Jojo Siwa. She had so many kind words to say about my dance. What did she say?
Starting point is 00:50:21 She was just like, I was here in the ballroom one, but two, I watched it on TV and I got home and like, usually someone has like one or the other. You know, like they were, it worked really well on camera. She was like, you did both. And I'm hugging her. And that was the first time I had gone, oh my God, Jojo Siwa smells bad. And then I go, later on I go, oh my God, it was me. It was my first time lifting my arms. made us put our outfit back on from the night before and they didn't clean it and remember how
Starting point is 00:50:47 much i was sweating why didn't they make you do that the girls had two different outfits because the girls did an opening number for ours and we didn't do an opening number for theirs but i feel bad for even a millisecond of thinking jojo siwo smelled bad when i smelled like salt and vinegar chips from my armpits it was disgusting i literally hugged you and i was like whoa no one's expecting you to smell good after no so if you're wondering if they wash the outfit or like if it smelled bad it was it was rank. It was like sharp cheddar. I don't even know how to describe it.
Starting point is 00:51:17 It was like not like a oh, this is B.O. It was like pungent. And then we went up and did the thing with Rob Irwin last night and I couldn't lift my arms in front of him. So like you'll see I'm next to Ezra and Jackson and these are like two like big broad shoulder guys and I'm like this. I have a few questions to ask you. Okay. Well, first of all, I want to talk about voting. What?
Starting point is 00:51:41 So Kate Flannery in between me and Riley with P and she's running out and she goes, grab me. You are fucking awesome. Oh my God. I was like Kate Flannery? That's Meredith from the office. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:51:55 Yeah, it was pretty, it was amazing. This is just like the coolest thing in the world. Wait, what was the question? I just like, just about the show in general, like the voting just like pisses me off beyond belief because the show airs live only on the East Coast and airs at 8 p.m.
Starting point is 00:52:11 L.A. time. And so we have to vote assuming you're not in the ballroom without watching you. Yeah. So like for the women, like I didn't know like I didn't have a fan favorite yet because like I didn't know them until I watched last night. So like
Starting point is 00:52:29 I had like I couldn't vote based off of performance at all which like is the only thing that I would have wanted to wanted to vote on. It's crazy. I didn't think about that. Like I completely, I didn't vote last night because I'm like I don't what would I be voting on? I don't know. I can't answer that.
Starting point is 00:52:45 I don't really understand. I should, like, I should be able to base my votes off of the dance. Yeah, I think Whitney Carson said something really good about this. She was just like, you do vote for your favorite. Yeah. But you should be able to factor in the performance shortly. Like, it's not right to not be able to do that.
Starting point is 00:53:07 I can't answer the question because I didn't ever think about it. I'm just like it makes zero sense. The other thing that I don't like, if you don't mind me shitting on the show that you're on for a second, which is my favorite show, by the way, just a few qualms. You have feedback. I don't think that there should be eliminations on the first night. I think everyone should get the chance to establish any fan base that they can on the first night.
Starting point is 00:53:35 Let that marinate for a second, have the chance to improve. Sarah Jane and Haley. I was like, that's Haley's first year as a pro. Right. Yeah. And I was just like, I was also like, oh, like based on the first dance and the first choreography, like, I just thought that was a little crazy because I liked the dance. Yeah, I did too.
Starting point is 00:53:54 I don't think anyone should go home night one. I'll say that about that. Oh, by the way, when they put you in like the quote unquote bottom three, even though I know it's no specific order, like there's no like you weren't in the bottom three. You just like they placed you in the last three people that, happened to be on stage. Did you think for one second that, like, you were at risk? It's impossible to not think that I was at risk.
Starting point is 00:54:18 Like, it truly didn't even cross my mind. Well, even from judges scoring, like, it was in no particular order. I, like, they do what they have to do. But, like, um, like even judges score, we were, we were fourth. But they just did that, like, for the Connor of it all. So they could be like, Connor? I don't know. It reminded me of David and David.
Starting point is 00:54:40 Archilletta and Cook. I think he came to the show. David Archiletta? Yeah. I'll reach out. You should. I'll reach out to my buddy. Oh, you guys do need to reconnect.
Starting point is 00:54:50 Happy to, yeah. Well, that's that. Now we got this week. Well, let me tell you my fan favorite. Oh, yeah. And oh, here's what I wanted to ask you. Can I give, like, if I gave 10 votes to you and 10 votes to, I don't know, say Esra, I can do that.
Starting point is 00:55:06 Like, I can give 10 votes to different people. I think I can, Connor. I don't think it's 10 votes total. I think it's 10 votes per couple. No, you have to split five and five. No, I don't think so, which is, which I don't understand. I think I could give. No, I don't think you do because I didn't understand this either.
Starting point is 00:55:21 I could give 10 to you and 10 to Ezra, I think. Is there crap on my sweatshirt? I don't know. No, there's no crap on your sweatshirt. Yeah, it's per couple. It's per a couple. So that doesn't make sense to me either. Oh, so someone could vote for every couple.
Starting point is 00:55:35 Yes. If every person voted for every couple, 10 times, like it would just cancel out. their vote? I don't get it. Huh. But so like would me voting for you 10 times and then voting for Ezra 10 times hurt you?
Starting point is 00:55:51 It wouldn't hurt me because I want Ezra to win. But like it would hurt. It's tough because like obviously I mean I'm only voting for you. But obviously if it was if it was neck and neck if it was me and Ezra. I guess that's that's where it makes it different. But I don't think it will be neck and like
Starting point is 00:56:05 neck and like unless I was well I mean there's always a chance. if I really, really messed up and I was at the bottom at the chopping block, I guess it wouldn't, no, no, then it wouldn't matter. It would never matter if you voted for both of us. And I would, your vote would still be counted for me. So I was just thinking if I was like at the tail end and you gave your, the five to someone else. I think it does make a difference because it gives him more votes. I confuse.
Starting point is 00:56:35 I confuse. I confuse. I confused. I'm very confused. But I think like dancing with the stars like, you guys need to think about like, like, you You guys need to think about like a few things that make no sense. If you can, if you've time. It's been on the air.
Starting point is 00:56:48 I don't know you're busy, but if you've time, a lot of stuff that makes sense. This show has been on the air for like 20 plus years, right? There's like a lot of people I've talked to. People that work behind the scenes and stuff that are like, I've been here for 17 years. I'm like, I can't imagine doing anything for 17 years. Yeah, that's a lot of years. Walking for 17 years. I'm like, I've been doing stairs for 17 years.
Starting point is 00:57:06 Crazy. Let me just tell you my fan favorites really quickly because it's my favorite show. Yes. You obviously are my mirror wall. champ. Obviously, like, I'm like completely addicted to Ezra that like goes without saying. Of course. I'm a little bit torn with Harry. Shum, because he's like just like so good.
Starting point is 00:57:24 And like, you saw me. If you saw it pan to me. I'm, I did pan to you. And like, that's Mike Chang. So I'm like a little bit confused because like in my mind, he could be one of the pros. But also at the same time like absolutely fabulous to watch and like greatest guy. I'm happy to be in the room with him. Sure. So torn on that leaning toward like.
Starting point is 00:57:42 I'm addicted to him, of course. Mora was out of this world. Like that was like freakish. Like the way her face was angled, I was like, that's a dancer. That's a dancer. I think she was exceptional. Yeah, she was great.
Starting point is 00:57:58 Who else am I obsessed with? I mean, everyone was fabulous. That goes without saying. But I think those are my, those are my big ones. I'm missing someone big, aren't I? I liked, I really liked, Taylor Hanson.
Starting point is 00:58:13 Yeah, he's great. I really liked him. Name a woman. Name one more woman, bro. Janet Dewan. She's, she, she's, I'm having another sort of like hairy situation with her. That was, I mean, that was the big talk is that like, yeah. Those are pro dancers.
Starting point is 00:58:29 Yeah. The craziest thing in the world is, like, it is impossible to feel competitive with these people because they are 360-degree great people. Yeah. I enjoy their company. Totally. There's like, I enjoy all these people. Amber. Glenn.
Starting point is 00:58:47 She's the ice skater. Yeah. She's fabulous. Fabulous. The women are just out of this world. I don't think anyone younger than us should be on the show. Agree? As there's an exception, but like you can be super young, but you can't be like 26, 27, 28.
Starting point is 00:59:03 Like that's, like, that's mean. That's mean to be. But I mean, everyone's fabulous. Jada the chef. She's the one that. during show until she broke her toe. And I was like, that is really unfortunate because I don't know if I could recover from broken toe.
Starting point is 00:59:20 And she danced. She did the whole dance, which I think she was stressed about. But she's awesome. I fucking love her. Oh, that's great. I'm kind of obsessed with Alan. Alan. Like, I feel like I never before, like, really thought about the pros.
Starting point is 00:59:33 But now I am. And, like, there's something about Alan that, like, I'm, like, really drawn to. He came all the way to my birthday party. Alan was at your birthday party? I got really nauseous to a Connor's birthday party so I had to excuse myself fairly early
Starting point is 00:59:45 so I didn't get to really meet anyone I thought it was funny like Taylor Hansen came to my birthday party I didn't I don't think I saw Isn't that fun And like went up So we're at karaoke And he's like you need to skip the line
Starting point is 01:00:00 It's weird that Taylor Hanson was like You need to get up there and seeing Taylor Hanson was at your birthday party Seeing karaoke And I go to sing karaoke It must have been the mic or something But I was horrible It was the mic
Starting point is 01:00:11 It was the mic. And I had given the young man at the front $20. And he said, okay, I'll put you to the front. And Taylor Hansen was like, did he put you to the front? And I go, he said he would, but it's been three songs. He's like, uh-uh. Pushes his way, past his daughter up to the front. He brought his kids.
Starting point is 01:00:29 That's awesome. She's 21. Oh, wow. He looks younger than me. Wait, that's extremely confusing to me. To a girl like you? Yeah, he's, I don't know how, but he is 21. I think he's 38 just based off of that I've Googled everyone's ages.
Starting point is 01:00:41 he's a little bit older. But I don't think he is, actually. He forced the guy to put my song next. And then I went up and not forced, but he coerced. How old is he? 43. Oh, wow. I'm wrong.
Starting point is 01:00:53 Someone's 38, but it, I mean, he, not that 43 is like old, but like, I didn't. He's young. He's my age. I mean, he's a young man. He's a very young man. He's a very young man. He's my age. But I love him.
Starting point is 01:01:04 He also, he had a good idea on the side of the, when we were watching last night. He was like, there's, should be a TV show called I'm an influencer get me out of here and it's where you put a bunch of influencers on an island with no phones so traders I know it'd be like survivor but like just surviving no Wi-Fi surviving yeah that's really good that's really good I mean that's really good sex but um it would be love I don't to handle yeah too hot to handle never mind done I want to go I want to go with you to traders fuck boy and partnerless daughter peninsula Fuck, boy,
Starting point is 01:01:41 I can't believe you're going to be on traitors. Brooke, what are you talking about? It's just like, I want everyone to know, like, this isn't, like, completely,
Starting point is 01:01:52 it's just a pipeline, maybe. Unfound, unfounded comments by Brooke. I don't know what, I don't know what pipeline you're talking about. No one, I don't think anyone does dancing
Starting point is 01:02:00 that starts two traitors. Oh, everyone does. Well, I, who? Most people do traitors to dancing. Most people do traitors to dancing. And so did Nora.
Starting point is 01:02:10 And so did Nora. but you're you're the exception mark ballis i guess you're the exception as you've always been you're the only exception okay what anything else dancing related i'm checking my notes no i mean i feel like i probably had i hope people want to hear this they've i mean they're gonna have to because they'll have to. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:43 I'm excited for our merch that's getting dropped. That's going to be fun. Partnerless son, except for doubles tennis, and that's nothing, daughter. But I wrote a book. Oh, that's nothing. Oh, that's nothing.
Starting point is 01:02:58 But I wrote a book. And except for doubles tennis. Yeah. So front of the shirt and then back of the shirt. That's funny. Do we need to contact the girl who made that TikTok and be like, we're stealing your idea. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 01:03:14 Like, how does that work? Like, is it her intellectual property? I think so. Okay. But we will. Sadly. We'll credit her. Of course.
Starting point is 01:03:23 We'll send her some of course. We'll send her some words. Oh, that's a good idea. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, we did 55 minutes on DWTS. Do you want to spend the next, the last five talking about the girl that had diarrhea? What?
Starting point is 01:03:36 What are you talking about? That's that what's that called is he high rocks oh no I don't want to talk about this really why would you not want to okay sure I mean what do you mean what do you mean why did this why is this the thing that you were like okay let's do the last five minutes on this young woman oh this was like my headline what this is like the only thing I've seen in the past week yeah the young woman that had diarrhea an Australian woman athlete poops mid-race it's not that is not poop that's like a protein shake athlete poops mid-race in China but keeps going and finish it anyway. You know what?
Starting point is 01:04:13 It's a level of like, it's okay, baby. You did too much. You're doing too much. My thing that I will say about this. Like imagine me middle of I like it. I love it being like, can't stop now. No, here's the thing. Like, you know, I'm the most like poop positive person in the world.
Starting point is 01:04:28 Yeah. Especially when it's liquid base. Sure. And even I am like it gets to a point. Uh-huh. Like if you have diarrhea running down your legs and slipping in your socks, you just get to, you have to excuse yourself. That's just what you have to do. Like you legitimately have to.
Starting point is 01:04:47 I think that like. Especially because she was actually doing shared equipment. The motto should always be do exactly what makes you feel good unless it affects other people. Negatively. You are or yourself negatively. When you're getting diarrhea on the equipment that other people have to use, that would be the definition. of affecting someone negatively. So she was in the, the Hirox is...
Starting point is 01:05:14 You just like, I don't know exactly what it is. I do know there's like shared equipment that is used. Let me read this. Australian High Rocks athlete, and I'm going to say her name because you, this should be Joanna, no, I can't. Actually, I'm not going to say her name. Reportedly pooped during the,
Starting point is 01:05:29 it's not poop. High Rocks Pro, women's race in Beijing on September 12th, despite the incident, the Melbourne athlete continued competing across multiple stations and finished first. So then that adds a new element. The young woman did finish first. Well, I'm sure it did affect the other people competing in the sense that, like, I'm sure almost threw them off a little bit.
Starting point is 01:05:52 Oh, so that's how you finish number one and number two in the same race. Legendary. Perfect. What else? Not cool. Okay. So the people have spoken. They say it's, and then someone said, Jit Parhug, Dia, which is like, that's why I was going to say.
Starting point is 01:06:06 so yeah you have when something like that happens like you have to excuse yourself because you have to look at her she's like look at those like medicine balls on the ground she's diarrhea in her in her socks in her on her arms this feels to me like bioterrorism it okay well i'm not going to grab that poopy poopy poopy dumbbell yeah so i can't like i or if if there's a moment of hesitation you're now affecting others, you know? Completely. That is literally like I'm gonna poop all over the things
Starting point is 01:06:42 that I win. Oh, are you saying that there's a chance that could have been intentional? That is like... You can't have diarrhea like that intentionally. Oh, my God. You know, like that was that slipped out. You know, unless she took something
Starting point is 01:07:01 to soil the competition, literally. Quite literally. She quite literally soiled the, You know what, Joanna? I don't have anything to say to Joanna, actually. This is foul and really bad. Yeah, you have to shoot yourself because you just have to. Let me try to think.
Starting point is 01:07:22 Let me try to play devil's eye. Can you get, my new favorite thing is like hating something and being like, I'm going to play devil's advocate. I mean, if you... I don't know if there is one for this because you're getting poop on the equipment that other people are using, honestly. I think it would be different if it was like a track race. Right? What do people usually poop them? Oh, marathons.
Starting point is 01:07:44 Yeah. I think that's one thing that's a little bit different. I'm just like if you, if you, so she's obviously like a world class athlete. Hyrox is what is this? By the way, this is like a nothing burger, right? It's like a CrossFit. This is like a, I've never heard of my lifetime. I think that this, no, you have to see what this stands for and then you'll be like, oh my gosh.
Starting point is 01:08:02 Hyrox is an indoor fitness race that combines eight one kilometer runs with eight functional workout. No, it stands for. Can we see what it stands for? what does high rock stand for a high rock stands for nothing oh no it does and what do you fall for what is the acronym okay that's not what i heard
Starting point is 01:08:28 okay whatever if this is a world class athlete say you work for the brand team at new balance you have signed the number one Australian high rocks competitor in the world and she goes take a photo of the finish line your new balance 10 issues are completely shit covered.
Starting point is 01:08:50 How are you supposed to be like, this is our girl? You know, like, how are your brain, how are your sponsor supposed to be like, there's our poopy girl? I think they, they don't address it. I don't think there's a way to be like, that's our poopy girl.
Starting point is 01:09:02 Like, like, unless it was just like a marathon that didn't involve shared equipment. Nike. The shared equipment's bad, really bad. Nike, just do it. Woman full of poop. Oh, that could work. Just.
Starting point is 01:09:15 Free idea. Free idea for Nike. they are looking for free ideas out here. That is not what High Rock, like, I promise. Is there another one? There's something, I think it's American. Because it's a hybrid, so I thought it was a hybrid. No, wait, maybe it starts with an R.
Starting point is 01:09:35 I think there's an R in it. Oh, my gosh, I got to figure it out. Hang on. What are you talking about? It's like explicitly. Oh, Hi Rock's stands for hybrid rock star. But it keeps saying on the website, like, doesn't.
Starting point is 01:09:50 Well, it's because they're probably trying to. Hirox doesn't stand for anything. They're an originally most Kirox, curious rock star. All right, whatever. So that's that. Okay. Who gives a rip? Who gets a rip?
Starting point is 01:10:06 We'll wrap it up, I guess. I have to be, I, for one, Joanna, take a page out of my book. I'm going to end the podcast so that I can stand up and walk to the bathroom. Good job. Because I'm wearing white linen, something Joanna hopefully. does not know. And we applaud you for your brain.
Starting point is 01:10:24 Joanna. Joanna pulled the max on the plane. Oh yeah. Okay. Thank you guys for listening. If you're new here, it's not typically a Dancing of the Stars recap. Like the way that it's working now
Starting point is 01:10:37 is like we will have the competition on Tuesday so it'll be kind of impossible not to touch on a little bit of recap. It will be a dancing with the stars recap podcast for the time being. Yeah, but I don't think it will be to the extent it was. We haven't really talked in it like at length
Starting point is 01:10:50 about stuff and I don't I don't want to bore anybody you won't you won't but just a reminder also we have a bonus promo code so we do a bonus episode after every main episode it's more of this BS plus we get to like Brooke and I get really comfortable
Starting point is 01:11:06 we kind of let her hair down we might like switch seats but we have a bonus promo code that's still active for new members at TMG it's a Dancing with the Stars bonus promo code this is at TMG Studio That's TMG Studios.
Starting point is 01:11:23 Dot TV slash BNCMAP. One month free if bonus content with code DWTS. So it's pretty easy to find if you go to TMG Studios. Dot TV slash BNCMAP. Okay. Thank you guys.
Starting point is 01:11:36 Yeah, I'm going to go use a little girl's room. Peace out. Oh. So next week if you want to vote, I know it's a little confusing, especially if you're in Pacific time. Just dumb as rocks. It is.
Starting point is 01:11:49 It's hard. But if you want to, please vote for me. I believe at this specific time it is just C-O-N-N-O-R, Connor to 215-2-3 at 5 p.m. PSC, you can start voting. Which whether...
Starting point is 01:12:04 We can get that tattooed on my neck. Whether it makes sense to you or not because you won't have seen it, if you love me, trust that I'm putting in the work every week to make sure that you, if you were just like walking across the street, you would be like,
Starting point is 01:12:16 I want to vote for that based on the work that he's putting in because I am heading out from here to go to the rehearsal studio. So trust me, you're going to want to vote at 5BMPST and elsewhere. Connor, C-O-N-N-O-R to 215-2-3. Thank you so much, seriously. Thank you.
