Bros & Shows - Arryk vs. Erryk: TWIN FIGHT (Part 2 of 2) (House of The Dragon s02ep02 Full Recap)
Episode Date: June 25, 2024How art thou Bros? It is the conclusion of our recap of episode 2 of HoTD. We have a strange scene with Aemond at a brothel and it seems he's finding motherly comfort away from his actual mom (probabl...y because Alicent is incapable of doing so). Hugh the blacksmith makes another appearance alluding to the state of the kingdom as well as a future bigger role on the show. Alyn and Addam of Hull have a similar appearance potentially setting up more involvement in some way shape or form in the future. Rhaenyra meets with Mysaria the 'White Worm' to try and uncover her part in the slaying of Jahearys. She admits to giving Daemon names, but also lets Rhaenyra know that she no longer cares about the game, status or pretty much anything. Rhaenyra denies her freedom (for now) as she continues to navigate post Jah death. Juxtaposed to this we see rash action from Aegon as he hangs every rat catcher that works at the keep in order to root out the one that wronged him. Instead of being pragmatic (i.e. Rhaenyra) he acts out of emotion. When Otto questions him he replaces him as hand of the king with dumb dumb Criston Cole... Rhaenyra lets Mysaria leave but on her way out she spots Arryk heading into kill Rhaenyra. An EPIC (and confusing) twin fight ensues as the twins battle with swords. The state of everything continues to deteriorate as the new regimes struggle with their newfound roles and learn the hard way that their actions have dire consequences. Introducing BravBros Members! Left Field by Castellanos.
Oh, man, it's 8 o'clock.
And so that'll make it a...
But we move on.
We get a quick scene with Bela and Jace.
They're talking about dads.
This is all about dads.
Once again, we're talking about family relationships.
That's what this whole show is about.
how you are different and also the same as your parents and who your parents actually are
this is the first time we get acknowledgement that sir harwin is jace's dad from him obviously we know
the first time he talks about he's like i think he loved me bala's like he definitely did dude
like we all know it's your pops like shut the fuck up baila says i think i hate my dad i don't
know if that'll come into play later because they both said two different things one i think
I might hate him. The other one, I think he loved
me. Again,
probably reading too far into everything.
That's what these shows do. And as
you said, she's shooting the bolt out of
the fucking crossbow, and I guess, have to fucking
bow. Joffrey used, I guess, too
many things. Or the one that Tyrion killed
fucking, what's his nuts with? Yeah,
that was the same crossbow, and it could have
been the same crossbow from before. Who the fuck knows?
Maybe there's a car to dragon on to it, or a fucking lion.
I mean, I don't know. Yeah, my mind is so
warped with all of this because, again,
the cinematography in these shows is super
important. I talked about the
Amon scene where he holds up the coin to his eye.
That means that he's going to die. How, when,
where is it Doran? I have no fucking idea.
But again, they do this where
Jace is walking up and he's just kind of standing
in the background, holding, like,
wherever the fuck, whatever ground he's on.
And Bela is shooting the crossbow?
And my mind goes, is Jace going to
die by a crossbow? Oh, yeah.
It's just, and it was just a weird little shot
and I'm like, if he dies by a crossbow, then
I am officially just sold and I'm
going to have to look at every single scene like
that. I hope he doesn't. I hope that if and when he does die, it's a completely different
scenario so I can let go of this way of thinking, but this is how my mind is warped.
I agree. That's going to be, it's tougher, especially for me taking notes. I have now,
I will re-watch the episode without my notebook. So I'm like, okay, let me watch the scenes. I'll
re-watch it anyway, but yeah. But usually I would do it later in the week, not like the next day.
But yeah, you got to look for little clues, little hints. They're always nodding to other things,
themes, motifs, pay attention, people.
You're here now, and we saw
the scene last week where
Jace comes back from the north, and he has
that embrace with Reneira, and now
he's talking to Bela about his
two dads, Lainor and
Sir Harwin Strong, and
they're having a nice conversation about it, and
he's opening up, and he's allowed
to be open, he's allowed to share his emotions
and his feelings and everything, because of the way
that Reneer raised him. On the other side,
you have Amon's
coping with his feelings one way,
Agon, coping with his feelings another way.
Helena, completely shutting down all over the place.
Lord knows what Darren's doing over there, or down there in Old Town.
So the difference between the mothers is so striking every single time that these kids come on screen.
It's like, oh, yeah, like, there's good mom, there's bad mom.
I think Darren's going to be like fucking Fade Ratha.
I think he's going to be awesome.
He's going to come in and just, he's the one that he didn't want to fuck with.
And now he's just like a cup bearer in Old Town, just like kind of walking around while the rest of his family is getting killed in a civil war.
He's just waiting.
Yeah.
Yeah. He's my favorite. He's a dragon, too. I forget his name.
They said it. Snow is fuck.
No.
Shit.
It's a really cool name.
We'll figure it out. And then we still, we're waiting for cannibal dragon.
Yeah, cannibal is going to pop up at some point. I don't know when.
I'm excited for cannibal dragon.
Hermitore is still under Dragonstone. I got to keep track of these dragons.
Yeah, we got to be better about that.
Hermitore is still under Dragon Stone. That's the one that Damon was singing to last year.
Cannibal Dragon is, I think, up in the north somewhere.
He's got to be out on the zone.
Cannibal dragon's not, no one's holding him down.
No, and then there's another one called sheepstealer.
I love sheepstealer.
You want to know what he does?
You steal sheep?
He certainly does.
He's like the bumblebee of like the Transformers.
Like, oh, that's sheepstealer.
He doesn't talk.
But interesting that you brought up how Amin is dealing with things
because this next scene we get him, I believe, at a brothel.
And he is laying with a motherly figure.
and they're having this intimate moment, but it's not sexual.
It is, again, motherly.
This is him needing that love and tenderness that he never received as a child.
And as we saw in his upbringing, he was always the weird one.
He was the strange kid.
People made fun of him.
They teased him.
And then he lost his eye.
They made fun of him more.
So he is just longing for some kind of love and embrace from somebody.
And that's what he finds in this, I want to say this nicely, or,
whore. I don't know how I was to say it. No, there's no other way to say it. And it's the same girl that he was with last year as well. Yeah. Clearly, this is what he's been doing to fill the void of not having a mother. Yeah. While mother is off, banging Sir Kristen Cole, I have to go to the brothel to get a motherly figure. And it's important to note he was laying there. She kind of urged him to, you know, we'll do this. We'll have sex. We'll do this and figure it out. He didn't want any of that. He's not here. He's being more truthful in this scene than we.
see him across the board with any other person in this show where he's actually sharing his
feelings. He says that he feels sorry for what he did to Luceris. He says that he feels sorry for the
way that he started this war, all of those types of things. The one thing that I will point out,
Damon is not scared of you. No. Bro. No, that's false confidence. I hope he has that false confidence,
and he goes in and Damon kills him because Damon is not scared of you. You're really good,
and you're the best out of your kids and I'm Renira's kids, but Damon would wipe the floor with you.
As of right now, as of right now.
Like, who's to say in five, ten years that this is still going on?
If we make that time jump again, they could be worthy adversaries, which would be fun to watch.
And maybe that's where, you know, we get a big old dragon fight to end this season.
Who the fuck knows, that'd be awesome.
But I think that with Amon specifically in this scene, you do get much different dynamics than he's seen in the past where he says, you know, I'm proud because he's afraid of me, as you said.
And then he says, I do regret Luke.
And I'm sorry for how it went down.
I'm sorry that he was killed.
This scene, for me, at least, I took away from it.
Like, could Amon be a good king?
Because he does have remorse.
Look, you got to pick your poison with Agon and Amon.
I understand that with Damon as well.
There's a little bit of crazy in all of them.
But the fact that he is aware of that and be like,
fuck, I did start this war.
And I do feel bad for him dying.
I didn't want that to go down the way it did.
The fact that he has remorse, he is a fantastic military mind,
as they've admitted to, he's the best military.
mind they have he's a very
comparable what is the word
I don't I can't remember
he's very good at fighting
he embodies a lot of things that you would
want in a king obviously a stronger
hand than others but
is this a nod to him having more
humanity than his brother
than we would have thought that he would have
maybe he's just the kid that was
as he points out I was teased
my whole life I was always the outcast
I'm the outsider is there more in there
than we were aware of yeah I still don't
think that he wants to be king.
You don't?
No, I think that he's fine being away from the throne.
I think he's fine operating the way that he does.
I'm surprised that he didn't become hand of the king by the end of the episode
because that seems like the rightful choice.
That would make the most sense.
Agon's an idiot.
Exactly.
Agon's a fucking moron.
And so is Kristen Cole.
So it's two dumb idiots sitting together saying, yeah, right?
Yeah, dude.
This is a brilliant idea.
You want to kill people too?
Me too.
Let's touch tips.
No, but yeah, I do like that they're able to round a character.
arc here with Amon's saying
he's not just some crazy
fucking dog off his leash. He's not
some guy who just runs off of his
impulses and doesn't care about the things around him.
He's at least able to sit here and
say he feels some remorse for some things.
And look, they're all very
interesting characters. We saw
Agon last weekend being nice to the small
folk. We saw him just trying to do
things that he could for the people of his realm
and he's still going to be smashing Lego sets
and freaking out and getting drunk with his friends
and talking about his dick and doing this and that and whatever.
So they are all very small, like, intricacies when it comes to these characters.
But it's important that we have that because we talk about this in our housewife shows.
If we don't see the nice sides of these people, we're not going to feel bad when bad things happen to them.
Correct.
Yeah, that's a good point.
Although I could have done without his naked body laying there because he just kind of looked at a lot of people were putting up the picture of Voldemort, like the bad.
He did look like Voldemort at the train station at the end.
Yeah, no, I could see that.
Maybe that's why I could resonate with me.
I was like, this looks familiar.
Yeah, that's what it was.
It's a Voldemort.
Yep.
it's Voldemote, Nod.
Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.
Nope.
What if Harry Potter's in the same universe as this and the dragons from this or the dragons in Harry Potter?
You can't tell me they're not.
You cannot tell me they're not.
Let's just move on.
You're not fun.
I love Harry.
Maybe out in space somewhere, Star Wars is going on.
No, no, no, no. Don't be ridiculous.
Oh, that's ridiculous.
Oh, that's ridiculous.
You're being ridiculous right now.
But let's move on.
quit talking about stupid shit.
And there's hobbits taking a ring to a volcano.
That would be more plausible in this universe.
That I'm down for.
Smog? Smog.
Smog.
Smog.
Did you know that?
Smog.
Smog.
I didn't know that until I watched the movie.
I was like, oh, I've been saying it wrong my whole life.
We're getting on a tangent here.
Anyway, back to the show.
We get a quick cut.
And I think this is just to show you the state of the kingdom.
And also to keep Hugh relevant because this is Hugh, the blacksmith from last episode,
the one that requested funds before they make the weapons so that they're not broke.
he's got a sick kid, his wife's where he can't find a chicken anywhere.
And I think that this is just to, one, keep him relevant and two, show you that while all this is taking place in the castle and they're trying to figure their shit out, the kingdom itself is suffering.
We know they got the blockade in place.
They're not getting trades coming through.
So I think that this is just a nod to, hey, shit's not great right now.
Shit's not great right now.
I think it's more than that, though, anytime that you see somebody like this, and we can talk about Alan in a minute too, when you see someone that you were just introduced to in the first episode and they really.
appear in the second episode right away.
There's going to be some sort of importance here.
I pretty much think
what's going to happen.
Agon promised all the blacksmiths in Kings Landing
will pay you up front, at least half of it,
so that you can do your duties and you can still
feel good and then get everything that you need to us.
His son just died.
Agon's definitely not going to keep that promise.
I think once word of that reaches
Hugh and the other blacksmiths, you're going to
start to see a bit of
distension.
Where I wouldn't be surprised if Hugh ends up
going to Dragonstone.
They probably need blacksmiths.
Why wouldn't you bring a nice little quartet of blacksmiths over there?
Have a couple of boys working on some weapons over there.
Maybe you'll get paid.
Why a quartet?
I don't know.
I just want to go quartet.
Okay.
I'm down for it.
They could all, maybe they hit their anvil at different times.
It's a song.
It makes a song.
Yeah.
That works to me.
But no, I wouldn't be surprised if you start to see some of the people in King's Landing,
some of the important people, and we can talk about Otto later,
starting to defect to the other side, where they feel scorned by
the current king, well, there's another queen that I can just take a boat across the bay and go
over to her place. Maybe she needs some blacksmiths. She might be a little wary of it right now
after what just happens at the end of this episode, but she'll be accepting of new people with
different trades. Yeah, there's definitely going to be defectors, so I'm looking forward to. I think
Otto is an obvious one, especially now that he's bouncing. Where is he going? Is he going to
Old Town? No, he was going to go to Old Town, but now I believe he's going to High Garden.
That's right. Okay, so he's going to High Garden. I'm not sure if the Tyrell's rule right now.
There's a lot of switching of houses and stuff because the, what is it,
the Tarleys takeover, Old Town at some point, so we'll say.
Yeah, it'll be interesting to watch.
But this is where we get Alan and Adam, and I love that we just have some normal names amongst this group.
It makes me laugh every time.
I know they're spelled funny with the captions on, but it's just, it's fucking funny.
There's Amon, Damon, Ranera, Rainis, Adam and Allen.
Well, you just went for all the Targaryen names.
Well, I'm just saying they're funky names.
There's other ones out there.
Cregan.
You can keep doing it.
But that's my point.
Corlis.
And then you get Adam and Allen.
And they're Adam and Alan of Hull.
But this is just a quick touch.
Again, I think it's like you said.
Alan is going to be an important factor later in this episode.
I'm like, well, Adam is as well because he's on the beach.
He's pulling clams out of the sand.
And he spots, was that cannibal dragon?
That was sea smoke.
That was sea smoke.
That is Leinor's Dragon.
All right.
I wasn't sure because I couldn't spot a dragon rider on it.
So I wasn't sure if that was just dragon flying.
There's no dragon rider on it.
I would imagine either Adam or Alan.
Now, they're not Targaryans or Valerians, so maybe not.
Are they Valerian?
They could be hilarious.
They're bastards, I believe.
That's what I'm saying.
That's what they were saying in the middle of that.
One of them had said something about being a bastard.
So they're brothers.
So I imagine they're both bastards.
So maybe there is some blood in there from one of like old Valeria.
And they can dragon ride.
but it's always important when somebody looks up and sees a dragon.
We saw it in Game of Thrones.
John did it a couple times with DeNaris's dragons.
I know Aria did it as well, and that was more like, whoa, there's dragons of the world.
This was a little bit more direct for me.
Yeah, it's definitely, to me, what I gathered from it is, all right, he does have dragon blood in him in some way, shape, or form.
He's going to ride a dragon at some point.
I don't know which dragon's going to be, but that's what I gather from that scene.
So I think these two are going to play a major role as well as Alan.
saving Corliss last season, and now Alan has not been invited on Corliss's ship,
but Adam's saying, like, look, dude, you're going to be.
So I think that these two are going to play a major factor at some point.
Maybe one of them is being set up where you think he's going to be a major factor
and he gets whacked at some point.
That's building.
Down for that.
Maybe he tries to ride a dragon, and dragon kills him.
Who knows?
Ooh, we haven't seen that one.
That would be a fun one.
Thought it was going to happen last year with Amin de Vagar.
Yeah, it did not.
No, that would be too easy.
No.
But that needs to happen to somebody.
Somebody needs to get too comfy with the dragon and the dragon needs to eat them.
Agreed.
That's a fun one.
Yeah, we're fucked up.
This show, this is what he does to your brain.
You start rooting for weird shit to happen.
Like the head falling off during the funeral procession.
It's like, uh, uh, uh, would have been some imagery.
If I want to see it, I don't want to see it.
I don't want to see it.
I don't want to see it.
That's the show.
That's the show.
Anywho, we move on.
We get Corliss and Rainies and they're hanging out in bed.
And the other theme of this episode and the,
this season as well is people that were passed by for the throne because raines is talking about
it corliss even alludes to it even though he's never he i guess he'd be what king and waiting
if the if raines had gotten the crown uh yeah he would have been like king regent or whatever
is that what it is there's a term for it i'm not i think king region is correct i believe that's it
if you're married to or is that the parent of yeah region is parent of whatever i think it's king
and waiting because if she dies, then he's the king.
No, I think there's an error, yeah.
We need to brush up on our royalty, apparently.
But regardless, they're sitting there and Raney's
points out that Damon pretty much only
wants for Damon, but
I disagree. I don't think
Damon, I think Damon is self-serving, but I think
that, again, his intentions are in the right place, in his
mind. He's self-serving. His intentions
are right in his mind, and he's also
incredibly useful, as Corliss points out.
Yes.
Corliss likes Damon because he was able to wage war in the narrow seas when he needed him most.
And as much as we saw that last year, Corliss and Damon do get along.
And let's not forget, Damon killed Corliss's brother.
And he still has some sort of affinity towards liking Damon.
So every time that he gets to understand him.
He understands him a little bit more than maybe anybody else does.
Raynees seems to understand him as well.
She understands his motives or like rather what he's going to do.
And any time something bad happens, it's going to be.
Damon. But I think what Corlis sees him as is
unnecessary evil, especially. Thank God he's on
our side. He's that guy. Yeah, he's that guy. You know, thankfully he's on our
side right now. And yeah, I think you're right, because Rainey's points out, he won't
challenge the throne, but he can't be controlled. She flat out says that. He's not
going to challenge Rainer, but who the fuck knows what he's going to do. So I
think that the best way to sum it up is, thank God we called that guy.
Yep. Hopefully you get that reference. But moving on, we get Renier in the
library with Masaria, and
this shows you the
kind of ruler and person that Reneira
is, because Agon or any
other king on that side of the street would
have been like, oh, you were involved, kill her,
see you later. Renira gives her
the chance to explain herself and says,
what part did you play in this? What role
did you play in this to kill Jaharis?
She says, I didn't. I gave
Damon two names because I had no other choice.
I was as prisoner. That was the cost of my
freedom. I did what I had to do. I've
always done what I had to do until I realized
that this life is bullshit, no matter what I do, I will never be on par with you, idiots.
So I stop doing that.
And I'm just trying to get the fuck out of here.
Yeah, Reneer deploys a couple different tactics.
Pretty much starts off by trying to scare her into giving her the information that she needs,
realizes that that's not going to work on her because she's already given up on life.
She doesn't care anymore.
The life that she has right now is completely free, and she realizes that she should have died probably a couple different times, hasn't yet.
So she's given up at this point.
Yeah, I'm not going to be scared by you threatening me because I already thought I was going to die before.
All right, that didn't work.
Let's move on.
Let's start talking about other stories.
And at some point halfway through this conversation, it does click with Reneira who she is.
I don't know how it didn't click immediately, but I think that Reneer is all over the place.
I think she's just scattered right now because of everything going on.
Yeah.
But Reneer was there on the steps of Dragonstone when they went back to go to the fucking met.
Yeah.
So she did meet her before.
I think that she just needed a little bit of time to figure it out.
And when she figured it out, she realized, oh, fuck.
Yeah, you do know Damon really well.
Once again, relationship that went awry and somebody that was going to be crowned.
Yeah.
Everybody's got a hand in this game.
Everyone's been passed by on the throne.
Everyone has fallen in love and fallen out of love.
Like, that is the theme of this.
And I think that what you see amongst the characters, ooh, I like this.
It just came to my brain.
Yeah.
I think that what you see from this is Reneer might see herself.
in Masaria in some way, shape, or form,
because Damon just bounced.
They can relate on that level right there
to where Rainera is like,
I know how it feels and sympathizes with her more
because she's like, well, shit,
you're the same person as me as far as that goes
because he just bounced on me.
He bounced on you.
This is what he seems to do.
So they connect on that level.
She does make a good queenly decision here,
which I thought was important to note
the fact that Masario obviously wants to leave.
It says, look, I paid my debt.
This is what he told me to do.
I did it. You got to let me go, and she says, no. That's the correct move. You don't know what
she's going to do. You want to trust her at her word because you have a weird connection with her,
you feel bad for, whatever it might be. The correct move, unfortunately, is, no, sorry, dude, I don't
know what you're going to do. You might go out there again and fuck things up.
Been to Dragonstone. I either need to kill you or keep you here. Correct. Those are the only
two options. Letting you free right now, without you proving your worth to me, without you proving
anything that I can potentially trust, you could go right back to the high towers and say, okay,
She's vulnerable here, here, here, and here.
I saw this when I was at Dragonstone.
Yes.
Not smart to let her go.
No, it's not at all, even when she does end up doing it later.
But regardless, that shows you in this moment, okay, she can step up and do the right thing.
Shows you later, oh, she still does have empathy and sympathy, sets up a plan.
I still don't think it's the best move, but it turns out to be the correct move because without this happening, without her setting her free, she doesn't see Aric.
she doesn't let people know
Eric doesn't come to the fence
Rennara dies so it shows you that
her having the capacity
to play
not play but make a decision based on
logic and then take
some time without reacting without just
like fuck it I'm going to kill you or I'm going to imprison you
for life she can take the time to process
say okay here's what's going to happen you're getting on this
boat it's going to the free cities far far away
ESOS see you later
you're not going to come back here you're not going to
fuck me up but I'm not going to kill you.
Yeah, and it pays.

And this again, what the difference is between Reneira's decision, which was a processed decision versus a rash decision from Agon where he's like, well, blood said it was one of the rat catchers.
he didn't remember his name, so I killed all of them.
I hung every single one of them, right?
Good move, right, Otto?
That'll get people on my side.
Otto, livid.
Yeah, livid.
Rightfully so.
And again, we can point out that he's a really good hand
and at least has some idea,
more idea than really anybody else in the realm
as to how to keep a kingdom intact
and how to continue to
pretty much have good PR throughout the realm.
You undo all of that right now,
because there are a thousand beggars
now at our gates that are crying.
There's children, women, wives, widows,
whatever you want to say,
that are now watching all of their husbands and dads hung, dead.
For everybody to see.
Why would you do that?
Well, 20 of them are innocent,
but there's definitely one that wasn't.
Yeah, I got the one.
And he did get the one.
And we did get that.
You did get cheese,
and we had that one little scene
where the dog is still very loyal and crying
that his master is now dead hanging above.
He kicked you, dude.
Yeah, get out of there.
Should it got out of there.
Better off without.
him should have got out of there hopefully the dog turns back up at some point but yeah this just
goes to show you exactly where agon is in the way that he is ruling he is not checking with anything
he's very aware that he's king he's very aware that he's doing everything that he needs to do and he's
acting completely out of emotion yeah but that's all he's capable of doing he's incapable of
making a calm decision he's not able to process things he immediately jumps to whatever
thinks, whatever in the
moment feels the best to him.
Yeah. Or revenge or vengeance. He is based
everything so far on
vengeance, which is not a smart
way to run a kingdom. If you need
evidence of that, look at Game of Thrones
when DeNaris burns down everything.
She acted on vengeance, and I don't
think that was a nod to that.
Who the fuck knows with this show? But
the way that he operates,
he's incapable of actually taking
time to make a good decision or lean on the
hand of the king. Hey, this guy's been, you may not
love him. I don't think you're supposed to like the
hand. No. I think you're supposed to kind of be like this
fucking guy, he never agrees with me.
He keeps you, he's been around for three fucking
kings. He knows, and
peaceful, peaceful kings.
Veseris may not have been, you know,
a showstopper. He's not exciting.
Vesaris the boring.
But it was a fairly calm
rule for the most part. So
I don't know, maybe Otto Tight Tower.
I hate him giving him so much credit.
See? I don't care for that. I did it
last week and you absolutely crucify me.
Gross. I feel gross. I'll take that.
In this scene, I do feel like you're okay to give him a little bit of praise because
Agon is the enemy here. Kristen Cole is the enemy here.
Kristen Cole is such a bitch.
He's such a bitch. And the fact that he steps up and says, be mindful of the way that
you talk to your king. I love this reaction from Otto because it reminded me of Tywin
Lannister. Love him or hate him, Tywin Lannister was one of the best characters on Game
Friends. And he was absolutely great at his job in handling everything that was in front
of him calling your grandson a fool for what he is is the biggest time in lannister move of all time
yeah right in front of everybody no he's a fucking fool why would he do this shut up christin cole
nobody cares what you have to say no because you are not you have no say here you're the king's
guard you're the commander of the king's guard you don't have priority over the hand of the king
yeah so you don't get to tell him be mindful of how you speak to our king you be mindful of your
penis stop putting it in queens we'll call you the queens by the way
Otto has to know at this.
Nothing?
The Queen Slayer?
Yeah.
Come on.
What?
Yeah.
Kristen Cole, the Queen.
Otto has to know that Kristen Cole and Allison are fucking at this point, right?
Nobody's telling him.
I don't.
He's the fucking hands.
I understand that, but I think that that's what that last scene probably was with him and Allison,
where he's like, I don't want to know when she said I've sinned.
Maybe that is what.
I don't know if you, oh, yeah, I think that he just didn't really want to know at all because he doesn't
care that too but i think you could argue that that's nodding to yeah yeah i don't want to hear
that you were banging him when yeah all this went down auto is embodying the pure i'm surrounded by
fucking idiots yeah in this scene and really every scene after this because every time that somebody
talks to him he just has he's essentially rolling his eyes like come on really this is what we're
going to do and i love the bent there the little breakdown here as agon is going off on him just for
simply saying you're a fucking idiot. Why would you do any of this? And he says, I needed to
take action. I'm the type of king that's going to take action. I want people to know that
about me. Sir Kristen Cole has taken action. The slowest head turn over to Cole. What?
What do you mean Sir Kristen Cole has taken action? This fucking idiot who's the head of the
Kingsguard is taking action in what way? That's probably not good. No. What did this
dumb shit do? How did he fuck everything up now?
You can tell that it's all emotionally charged,
and that's why these two dumb-dums get along.
It's fucking dumb and dumber because Kristen Cole says to the hand of the king,
it's time that bitch queen paid a price.
You're still upset that she didn't run away with you.
Again, paint the picture.
She's the queen in waiting.
You wanted her to run away with you on a boat full of oranges and cinnamon as a teenager with no money, no plan.
Even in today's day and age, if someone came up to poppies had run away,
with me. What's the plan? We don't really
have one. We're going to go over here.
Sell oranges and cinnamon.
I would be livid.
Absolutely not. That's a terrible plan.
Don't fucking do that. So I can't imagine
then taking it a step further.
Like, you are in war, and this shows you
what the actual people involved
at the head of things, especially now that he's been
named Hand of the King, how incompetent
they are. They're running on a motion, whereas
you're saying goodbye, this is the official
passing of the torch. This is no
more old guard. Vasaris's rule
has finally come to an end.
Nobody's influencing these idiots anymore.
Oh, shit.
They're doing everything based on their emotions.
We want to spill blood, not ink.
That's what's going to happen now.
And I love that Otto leaves it with just fucking twisting knife.
Because he says, your father was right about you.
And he's like, he made me king.
He's like, that's what you think.
So Otto even knows.
Oh, the laugh after that was incredible.
Yeah, it was great.
Because he knows that his time as Hand of the King is coming to an end.
There's nothing he can do about it.
So, yeah, why not one little last ditch effort?
And the fact that Agon, when he breaks down the whole plan that Kristen Cole came up with, he's going to have him play as his twin.
Brilliant.
No, it's not brilliant.
It's a fucking stupid plan.
It sounds like a cartoon.
It's exactly the Spider-Man meme when the two of them meet.
They're just pointing at each other, and neither of us know.
Nobody watching knows who's who.
Everybody in that room doesn't know who's who, and we'll get to that.
But it's the dumbest fucking plan.
and it's one of my favorite meme templates.
It's always two dumb bitches saying,
exactly, right?
And this is these two.
And you can honestly use that with Kristen Cole
and anybody in this show.
It's always him and some other idiot saying,
exactly, this is such a good call.
No, it's not.
You're fucking morons.
So, yeah, Otto understands that the end is coming.
Why not just go all out?
Because this is a fucking moron of a king.
I don't think he has the balls to kill me.
So I'm going to sit here and just make sure that he knows.
Yeah.
No, he did not want you to be.
king you idiot yeah i don't even think he cares if he gets killed now but i think at that point he's
like who who fucking cares we're all fucked anyway if these guys are running the show yep he names
christin cole the hand of the king and he says you wouldn't dare or he tells him to remove the hand
and he says you wouldn't dare he says i have dared i find it stimulating that scares me yeah
that's a scary thing to say yeah this guy is going to burn of decisions yeah not good let's
Well, it's not going to be good for him because his dumbass is going to get on his fucking dragon
and go to the middle of war when you're the king.
You're going to die.
And you're not even good at fighting.
You're not good at anything.
You're a drunk idiot.
This is where you get Renera letting Masaria leave.
She says, here's the plan.
You're going to go get on this boat.
Smile you later.
As she's walking to the boat, as we said, she sees Aric walking into the keep or walking
towards the keep and she turns around, heads back to the castle.
Again, further proof that Renera made a correct decision based on Lerick.
based on logic and put a plan in place,
showing that she is a competent ruler.
I think that's very important to note.
She was able to sit on something and think about it.
Yes, not jump to an emotional conclusion and kill somebody,
as we saw the other side do.
We see Eric, Aric, sorry, kind of slunking through the cast.
I really like this scene, actually.
I liked him kind of moving through, how he paused.
Eric actually walks right by him.
You see him kind of pause.
Is that a twin thing, or is that?
I think that was a little twin feeling.
Yeah.
A little tingle.
He's close.
I got my twin,
smell him.
My twin tingle, my twingle.
Maybe he smelled him.
It smells like me.
But he goes to lock the door, goes around,
let's the other guy out.
We get in.
He's about to kill Renera.
Eric comes kicking down the door.
And I just wrote in all caps, twin fight.
Twin fight.
And it was a wonderful fight.
Oh, my God.
Full of high emotions because you don't know who is who.
I figured it out.
How did you figure it out?
Because Aurek got slashed on the leg.
They both got slashed on the leg.
Oh, shit.
Yeah.
So they fucked with us intentionally.
I thought that Ariric did.
They wanted to give us the idea that you can't tell who's who.
They gave them the same scars.
They gave them the same fucking cuts.
All the same bullshit.
Yeah, because they don't want you to know who's who.
So at the end, when someone dies, you don't know who it is.
You know how smart I felt until right now.
I was like, I figured it out.
Everyone's worried.
Everyone's talking about how they didn't know who's who.
I did.
I watched more like the director's fucking.
interviews and stuff and the showrunners talking about how they wanted to go about it and they said
that they wanted to give us anxiety they did and they did give it to us i i didn't because i thought
i had it figured out and i guess like the the actual evidence is at the end when he says your grace
acknowledging that ronair is the queen and then that has to be the most uncomfortable looking death i've
seen on this show and that's saying a lot yeah yeah i know i know i imagine it's it's good for you to commit
Sabuco it wants. That's from
a different show. That's from
that Shogun? Yep.
Good job. Way to go. Thank you.
But the funny thing is, after watching it
and then looking at things online,
I thought this at the time,
one, I figured
what was going to happen is
there's going to be a huge twin fight and then no matter
who comes out of it, there's going to be scrutiny
as to who are you?
How do I know it's you? And then I thought
maybe Arik would have won
and then infiltrated and then killed Reneiro when he had her alone at some point in time.
But that's not what happened, obviously, at all.
The other thing was, it did look like Aric was the one who won,
just based off of their interactions when they were talking to each other in the middle of the fight,
saying, I loved you and you left us.
The one who said you left us was on the ground.
So then I was like, wait a minute, did Aurek just win?
And then when he says, I'm sorry, your grace, and kills himself,
I thought that was a full character arc for Aric, saying, you know what,
I did realize that this is the right side,
but I just killed my brother and I need to kill myself.
Well, I think you could argue that,
and I think they probably left it slightly.
The showrunner confirmed that it was Eric.
He did.
I mean, I knew it was Eric the felon of sword, so, like, no, we do.
But, yeah, that seems.
Well, apparently in the books, they don't tell you who's who.
I think that that would have been a funny way to do it.
They did, unless you watch the actor.
No, no, no, they do.
So Eric does die, like, later, or maybe they both die in the fight from their wounds or something.
The Sapuku doesn't happen in the books.
I thought, well, it was a great.
way to end it.
My whole thing was, as they're fighting, I'm like, no matter who wins, they have to kill
the other one.
There's no way you can leave this guy around.
So that's obviously very emotionally charged scene, and I think it shows you not just
these two and how hard and difficult this is.
Like, you get two factions fighting against each other and their family.
This is a very, very obvious depiction of two families or a family pitted against each other.
It's literally showing you this is the bigger picture of what's going on.
Yeah.
But this is a very literal embodiment of these families fighting, this family fighting.
It's not just the Targaryans fighting each other.
The whole realm is fighting each other, brothers, sisters, whatever.
Yes.
They're all going to have to fight each other at some point in time.
Even the ones that love each other, they just feel differently about it.
And you have to go through with it no matter who you are because of what side you stand on.
So, yeah, it was an awesome scene, fucking incredible fight scene.
It was, that's something they also do so well.
And he shows is the fight choreography.
The lead up and everything too, where Aric locks the back door because he knows that she's going to try to flee from that door.
And then that pays off where Reneer is trying to get out and she can't get out.
And the other night has to come in and try to protect her.
She sends her handmade out right away to go protect her.
Like the whole thing was incredible.
It was high anxiety from start to finish.
Yeah, it was great.
It was really great.
But wrapping things up, we get Allison and Otto.
and it's just a quick debrief on Agon,
and this shows that Allison still has a weird thing for old Kristen Cole,
because she's like, well, he's loyal.
He's super, we don't have to worry about him.
He's super loyal.
It's like he just usurped your father as Hand of the King.
He has no knowledge of how to do that.
Nope.
Are you not alarmed?
And she says, Agon's still malleable.
We can still, like, I can talk to him, blah, blah, blah.
I don't think so.
You can't.
Like, this is that scene of him placing Kristen Cole's Hand of the King.
he's making decisions now
and he's not going to listen to anybody
this is the turning point of
oh fuck agon is king
and I think we're also realizing now
that it's not a lack
and this is how Allison kind of build it up
and Otto was agreeing with her
it's not that the kids aren't listening to her anymore
it's that she isn't talking to them
she isn't comforting them when they go through things
she's not helping them through anything
she is forsaking all of her motherly duties
to go get banged out by Kristen Cole
yeah that's all she's really
doing so while she's sitting here saying i can still do this you know agon's still malleable i can still
do this you had a prime opportunity to do that right after the scene and you walked away yep so no you
can't do it and that's all on you that's not on your kids you literally walked away you walked in saw
your son who just lost his son weeping i even wrote i never used the word weep yeah i even wrote
down weep because that was weep yeah was weeping and you walk in the room and realize you're
incapable of comforting him and go back to your own room take your anger out on
Kristen Cole ever so briefly a couple of pop pops to the face and then you anger bang
yeah that's not being a very good mom but right before that this is where we get that
Darren Darren Darren is entering the scene entering the picture and he's down in old
town again I think that this is fade Ratha I think he's going to come in and just be the
fucking guy I think that that's honestly why you see a I don't I can't imagine we see him
this year there's just too much going on you don't think now um well we already got word that we're
not going to see kregan stark again this year i did see that have him there for that um and there's a lot
of things and they are confirmed for like at least two more seasons i think georgior martin said
you have to wait two more fucking years for it for the end of the dance i'm saying season three is
not going to take two years it might i will be really sad yeah because they're not filming right now

But no, they do touch
on it and look, there's obviously little nods,
little seeds being planted out there.
The name of his dragon is Tissarian,
by the way. That is a bad thing. That is a fucking name.
Pretty sure it's Tessarian.
So we'll have to wait
and see because, yeah, he's an old town right now
essentially being a cup bearer.
and we find out that Otto is supposedly going to be going to High Garden because they do need more allies.
Going to the reach makes the most sense so that you can go talk to them and try to get more people on our side.
And as we know from Game of Thrones, there's a lot of crops over there and we need food in King's Landing.
And the blockade is proving difficult.
So if we can go by land instead of sea, that would be helpful.
So that's supposedly where he's going to be going.
Now, obviously he was just spurned by Agon and I wouldn't blame him.
But it's not like the other side's going to take him.
Otto High Tower going there?
No, I don't think that they would.
I think that Damon would get word of it and kill him right away.
Potentially, but I think that that is also with Damon being gone,
opens the door for a defection from him.
Yeah, and I think he'd be dumb to not hear him out.
Because it's a military advantage having him on your side,
or at least keep him there and keep him in fucking jail.
It would be, but you also know who Otto is as a person.
He's a high tower.
He's a high tower.
He's going to show.
show up and he's going to start twisting your words.
I don't think he's even going to go over there.
I think he knows better.
I don't know where he's going to end up, where he's going to go.
He might just go back to Old Town because he did say that at least Darren is still malleable.
We can go talk to him.
I can still at least teach him the ropes here, essentially saying you have another son over there.
So if all of your sons die, which I think they're going to because they're fucking morons,
we at least still have another one over here that could be the next heir that I can bring back to King's Landing and he'll be a much better king.
I think that the more that we've talked it out now that we've gotten to this point
when she says, I have sinned and he says, I don't want to hear it.
I think that's him relinquishing everything from Kingsland.
I'm fucking done with this place.
I'm moving on.
I'll try to do something elsewhere, but I'm no longer going to take part in all this
Tom Foolery.
Tom Foolery.
And then again, like I said, it ends with C squared and Allison banging.
And just another great episode.
And these episodes are going to run long.
That's why we broke it down into two parts
so that we can make sure we hit everything.
There's too much to look into for us to skirt by.
Always is.
Details matter in this show.
And we like to find things to point out
because it makes us feel smart.
But let's move on to some questions.
All right.
First up from Lexi Sands.
Do you all think that Allison believes Reneera ordered the death of Jaharis?
Um, I think Allison does.
I think that that's her mindset shifting.
I said earlier, I don't think Otto does.
But I think Allison has completely, I think we're seeing her lose any empathy and sympathy that she had.
Yeah.
I think that that's reminiscent of that scene with her and Agonne sobbing and her not being able to do anything.
Yeah.
I don't think that she thinks that Reneer did it, but I think she's getting a little bit.
that point where she's just going to have to accept all of these things, especially with her
dad, especially with her dad not being there anymore. She's not going to have that other person
talking to her. So she's going to go well off of what she thinks. From Daria underscore PNG, was
Reneira Wright to send out Bela instead of Jace? I mean, yeah, you don't want to lose both.
Yeah, you don't want to lose another son. Jace, look, he's willing, and I love that. But yeah,
no, she's not going to send another one of her sons to his death. And her son seems,
cool. So I want one of them
to hang her. I want him to come back and
I would love him to fight Aymand and him
actually kill Aman. That would be sick.
Yeah. I don't think he can. Yeah. That'd be cool.
For Mary had a little.
I see Kristen going off the rails and I can't wait.
Who's he killing first?
Ooh. I think he's going to kill somebody on the small council.
And we saw a small council death last year, but
I think we're going to see. Somebody's going to say something wrong
and Chris and Cole's just going to kill him instead of.
I think Agon's going to give him like a little look and he's just going to go cut
is fucking out of. Yeah, I think that what you're going to see is more of like an
unleashed dog at this point.
From Ash Alba, do you think Helena is the three-eyed raven of House of the Dragon?
That's a good point.
They have a different, so I will say they do have a different, it's a little different
than three-eyed dragon, or three-eyed dragon, three-eyed raven because there are quote-unquote
dreamers from Old Valeria.
Right.
And that's what she is, where she can see.
still see some of the future, but she's not seeing the past, present, and future all at once.
It's just visions of what's going to happen, and they're unclear.
And I think that she's having a really hard time doing that because those don't really exist
anymore, and there's nobody really teach her how to do it.
I think maybe she learns how to process them better.
Yeah.
I don't think she's the three-eyed raven, but no.
You need some kind of soothsayer in these shows, so I think that that will be her role, unless
she gets killed next week, which is very possible.
from Zoe Cudla Polay
Is Damon Kristen Cole in another form
Just a jealous man
No
No, no, Kristen Cole is, he's alone
Kristen Cole has no moral compass
He doesn't know what
Like Damon has a moral compass
It's just his own set of morals
Yeah, Kristen Cole is just a little bitch boy
And one more here from
Shenkel Santino
Do you think that Laris is a skin changer
Wargs into rats
not really like it was not the first it would just be a war yeah yeah this isn't the I could see that
and I think you know maybe that will explain his club foot maybe like as a rat he got his like
fucked up or something no his club foot was he was pulled out of the womb and he had a twisted
like his foot was caught and they pulled him out and he twisted his foot and he never that's what
it is yeah is that confirmed that's confirmed yeah did you see the birth it's in the books
stop with the books the books of the books we don't read
They don't base it off the books.
What are you going, Peter Pettigrew on me right now?
Peter Pettigrew.
We're going to keep going back to Harry Potter.
Yeah, that's what you were doing.
Look, he was a rat.
Would I be shocked if the guy that is a fucking rat turns out that he can turn into a rat?
No.
Yeah, but why would that explain his foot?
Because maybe got caught in a rat trap.
If this comes back.
We saw multiple wargs in Game of Thrones where their, whatever their animal was,
nothing happens to the person you know what i mean oh i see what you're saying they yeah they don't
transform they just yeah right he's not a transformer he's not a transformer but no i do think that
there's a lot of the scenes especially when allison's like in the bath they always film it from
like behind the gate like walking through like definitely laris just like creeping around yeah
so i don't know if he's physically rat physically able to turn into a rat but i think that
he is a rat i think that's why he slung
around he's behind the scenes like you said the camera angle's always peeking out from something i think
he is one but no yeah okay so yeah i'm right um anywho that about does it that's a lot of dragon talk
for you as we said these episodes will tend to be a little bit longer that's why we break them up
into two because there's just so much to dive into everything matters all the scenery the imagery
it's all important the themes and motifs you got to pay attention to them because they will
always always come back it might not even come back for five episodes but it always
always does at some point. So if you're watching along with us, make sure you pay attention.
If you've got some fun predictions for us, send them our way. Maybe I'll start putting up some
polls as to what you think is going to happen next week. But other than that, you got anything else?
Nope. Good to go here. Oh, Rob Bros are out of here.
