Bros & Shows - Carolina Causes Chaos (The Bachelor Full Recap)

Episode Date: February 27, 2025

What's up Brose? It is Bachelor time and the show is FINALLY heating up a little bit. Its been a mundane season up til now but drama is beginning to take over the group. With only two 2 one on one dat...es, Zoe and Juliana are hoping to finally secure their one on one time. When Carolina is snubbed and sent to the group date, she makes sure that she messes with everyones time. Not participating in any events, she does her classic move and gets Grant to step away from the rest of the ladies to console her. Juliana has a picturesque one on one date that pushes her way ahead as far as contenders. Zoe gets snubbed as well and is the only remaining contestant without a one on one date. Litia gets her second one on one with Grant and you cant deny the chemistry between these two, but it will be interesting to see how the Mormon aspect of her life plays a role in their potential future. After sticking up for Carolina last week, Dina feels a type of way after witnessing her moves first hand and takes it up with Grant. A risky move to say the least. The rose ceremony is a big one as next week is hometowns and we really are nearing the end of the journey. Shooter and Steel both look at their remaining players for each team and we are going to have a pretty intense match up going into the last couple weeks! Learn more about your ad choices. Starting point is 00:01:05 from this episode can you give us a rundown of who has who who has whom who has whom uh left for steel we have zoe juliana carolina dina and parisa okay and well well no because we're like we're getting caught up so parisa's been gone which one did you watch no parisa was last week yes that's what i was doing i was wait hold on first off yeah well preisa did go last week shit okay yeah i didn't put in which time we left started over ready started over started over before we get into everything can we get a rundown of who has who whose team has who left before the end of this episode so like don't read out who got who got
Starting point is 00:01:54 So this is just an update. This is a spoiler-free update, since everybody hates spoilers on this show. Steele still has left Zoe, Juliana, Carolina, and Dina. I still have Litea, Alex, and I believe Serafina. That's all I had left. Yeah, Seraphina was the last one that I had left. So it's four to four to three at the start of this episode. All right. Sounds good. Sounds good. To me, just wanted to run through everything. Good evening, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Bros and Shows.
Starting point is 00:02:42 I'm your co-host, Steel Russell, joined as always by the one and only. Will you accept my goots? What's up, dude? Ew. I don't like that one. I'm not a fan of that one either. But hey, when I have to come up with you, names for you every episode and we do five a week it gets difficult believe it or not it
Starting point is 00:03:00 does get difficult but is it difficult to come up with something that isn't gross that's it's hit or miss yeah i guess every once in a while you're just stumble over something a little gross or at least unpleasing to the ear if you will but either way we're back in uh bachelor world now Bachelor nation, thank you. Yeah, that's fine. But before we get into it, I think that there's a lot of people out there that have been dubbing this
Starting point is 00:03:27 as a very boring season. I think, I don't know. I don't have enough of a Bachelor background to be able to put this up against this and that and whatever and whatever. But I'm not thoroughly entertained. I am a little bored. I will say,
Starting point is 00:03:43 funnily enough, this was the first episode in a couple weeks where I was like, okay, I'm into this. I actually, this one had me had me a little bit more enthralled but yeah i hear you with the other ones a little bit more slow moving this one caught me this one i was i was locked in yeah i i think that what they should be doing honestly do we really need like 20 minutes per one-on-one date like that
Starting point is 00:04:06 is such a long time for one-on-one dates to go through i don't i know that you're spending so much money on like all of the appeal and uh all of the fireworks you know literal or figurative whatever you want to say. But at the same time, I feel like it takes away, especially in an episode like this, where we saw fireworks figurative amongst the girls who were left. And I feel like we could have spent more time on that because that is way more entertaining than watching somebody go on a one-on-one date for an extra like 10 to 15 minutes. Like just, you know, we get it.
Starting point is 00:04:37 We know what's going to happen. You guys, trauma dump, connect, trauma dump a little bit more. Kiss, fireworks, over. I think the answer is make it an hour. these episodes are an hour 20 which means on TV they're two hours right two hours yeah it's crazy
Starting point is 00:04:53 run time they're they an hour ABC have nothing else going on clearly clearly this is one of their few shows but no that's that's what I'm saying I think that if you cut it down to a one hour and get all this shit done in one hour even an hour and a half there's no need for it to be two hours because it's a lot of nothing
Starting point is 00:05:10 it's a lot of we're going to this place and now we're going to this place and let's check in with the girls during the one-on-one date, even though we don't really usually get a whole lot from that. So I feel like spend more time on the group dates even. Like I'm not even saying like, let's spend more time at the mansion,
Starting point is 00:05:25 whether it's in Scotland or back in L.A. I don't care where it is. I'm saying the group dates, I feel like need a little bit more here and there. Because if you're really trying to showcase, you know, the small businesses that pop up or, you know, you get some like influencers, podcasters,
Starting point is 00:05:39 people from other shows. We've got some poets and old ladies in this one. Yeah, that's what we got. That's fine. I'm okay with. that i have no issue with it i'm just saying i think if you cut the time the run time down there's no need for it to be this long i agree there's just a lot of filler in there that's just not necessary yeah and then like you start a scene and they start like 30 seconds back it's like
Starting point is 00:06:01 oh i know commercial it's like then we run through like a good like a good portion of that i wouldn't need to do that i feel like we have that sort of issue with uh i i've actually gotten really good at this especially on uh the the shows that we watch that are on peacock because you'll see like a bravo reunion or traders is a huge issue with this where they're you know cliffhanger who's the person who's going to walk in the door next i don't have commercials to watch so if you just click it once it goes 10 seconds and it puts you right back to where you are so i've got that down as an art but i agree bachelor when you come back it's 30 seconds so it's too long too too we're we don't need this much time that's all i'm saying but let's jump into this episode because we're um so
Starting point is 00:06:42 excited because we're in Scotland. We're in Edinburgh. I get to do my trader's accent. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know about that. It's Edinburgh. Yeah, that's what it sounds like. Edinburgh.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Stick to, Scotland is good. Admittedly, it's a good Scottish action when you say Scott. Should I do Connery? No, that's not good either. You've done better. Are you tired? I can do. I am exhausted.
Starting point is 00:07:09 I'm very CP. I'm a very CP boy in my accent. get more difficult when I'm a CBCB boy. But like I said, we're in Edinburgh and we start out with Jay Palms and Grant. We finally get to see Palmer hit the links. We know, especially after I saw his stroke, I'm like, you do actually play golf everywhere you guys go. When you're not on camera, you're golfing.
Starting point is 00:07:30 He's got a great swing. He's got a great swing. And I was so happy to see him out there just having a great time on the course. Grant, you know, he could do some work. But you know what? When you're going up against Jay Palm, who's got a ton of. time out there on his hands he's not following you guys around on dates he doesn't worry about anything he shows up like four or five times an episode maybe for a total of what 10 minutes so
Starting point is 00:07:52 my boy's out there golfing exactly he's getting those swings in and you can tell and he's a south paul like me so me and palmer we got we got a lot of like but j palms goes into the ladies and gives them a little update on what what we got to look forward to this week and it's pre-homptown okay so next week is hometowns that's and everything heats up. This is the biggest week to get through. You make it through this one. You take Grant home to meet your family.
Starting point is 00:08:18 So everyone's on edge a little bit. And we got two one-on-ones, one-group date, but no one-on-one roses. So you cannot secure a rose in a one-on-one date. You got to wait to the rose ceremony like everybody else. And one group date with no group date rose either. So everyone's going to find out at the end of the episode. And just do wait, everybody. because we got a if you if but i do the spoiler thing because we got more shit for it for the traitors
Starting point is 00:08:47 episode again what are you what are you listening for then if you haven't seen it yet i can't help you like we have to reference things and we still get shit if we spoil it like we're look eight minutes into the episode now i i feel like our our recaps are good we break down the important things the things that are i like to think mostly it's just mostly it's just funny things that we we catch but you're not really getting the full effect unless you watch the episode. So what are they doing? Are they listening to us first and then watching the episode?
Starting point is 00:09:18 Are we that captivating that they'd rather us break the news and like a dramatic reveal at the very end of our episode? I don't get it. No. It's impossible for us to do this. It's so hard for us to not spoil. I mean, at some point we are bound. I think after 20 minutes, 20 minutes into the episode, we can spoil.
Starting point is 00:09:36 But like, what is that to? I don't know. I'm just telling you about the shit we get for doing. I know, but we still love all of you out there. But anyway, we've got two people left that have not had a one-on-one, Juliana and Zoe. So in my head, I'm like, all right, well, obviously they're both going to get on one-on-one, and Juliana snags the first one.
Starting point is 00:09:57 First one-on-one date, we get a little helicopter ride with a solid smooch, an 8.1 out of 10, okay? You can tell these two actually like each other, like hanging out, but we get to the castle, and we got like, you can be royal, for a day is kind of the vibe that I got. Yep, pretty much. With Callum, Callum the butler.
Starting point is 00:10:17 And, you know, I get like the royal stylist and I was bummed out what we landed on because we're wearing like really fun, fun stuff. We got kilts. We got plaid pants. And then the big reveal at the end, like what they picked, it was like, all right, just a dress and a tucks. Like, that's not fun.
Starting point is 00:10:33 You're Scottish royalty. I had a feeling that maybe Grant didn't really like the kilt. I mean, we made a big deal about the kilt. When we walked in there. He wears one way. talking about it she's talking yeah he does wear one later i don't get it i don't really understand but uh you know the the talk about whether or not he's wearing underwear under the kilt some people wonder the same thing i even you know i'm not like sexualizing grant over here
Starting point is 00:10:55 but i am wondering if he's freeballing over there just now i yeah yeah letting the scottish wins get up there so to speak or not but uh yeah i agree with you i thought that it was very played down for an entire scene of all right we're going to walk through we've got designers we're going to introduce one of the cool designers i don't know who it is i'm not you know that up on i think i wrote it down designing you probably wrote it down in there somewhere she had an interesting name uh stylist no i just wrote royal stylist it's like vixie or something like that yeah that actually sounds right but we get a stylist in there and we get to go through all of this and there's a ton of different outfits dresses and all this and that and whatever ho hum Very ho-hum. Yeah, very ho-hum. I could have done, I could have done with much more pageantry out of those two walking in, especially when you're going to walk into a room with a string quartet playing the Proclaimers,
Starting point is 00:11:50 I'm going to be. That was fucking hilarious. I was like, of all the songs you guys could have picked for this romantic dance, it's, Oh, I go, a five hundred.
Starting point is 00:12:01 What the fuck was that? I don't know. Like, I felt like they're clearly trying to give a Bridgeton vibe. Like with, have you watched Bridgeton? Maybe that's what this. Yeah, maybe that's, I know Bridgeton. I have not watched Bridgeton.
Starting point is 00:12:13 But they, so they have like the whole show, the soundtrack is like that. It's string quartet and pop music. Yeah. Which a lot of it's really cool. There's some really good ones in there where you're like, oh shit, this actually sounds awesome. Why is that song coming up so much now? Because David Tennant just sung that at whatever award show he was doing. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Look, I'm not. I don't know what's going on. No, I'm not either. It's just an odd choice. you think something more romantic well I guess that is a romantic it's romantic but it's like a joyous like hey like bopping song
Starting point is 00:12:44 if you're doing like a royal dance in a castle I want something that's going to make me cry beauty and the beast what about that that's what you want yeah that would have been great that would make sense ABC Disney beauty and the beast castles boom castles we just do your job for you ABC god damn it but we get to the
Starting point is 00:13:02 group date card and I'm pulling for Zoe obviously there's a bias there because she's team steel which means she's better than everybody else there so i'm pulling for zoe she also hasn't had the one-on-one date yet i'm like she has to lock this down so we get the group date card seraphina alex carolina dina and the worst part is they left zoie last like what a dick move you know they did that on purpose too of course they did but that's they do it on purpose which is so funny and look i mean you can't deny that letia and grant have chemistry they have a lot going on chemistry i do think that like the way that this episode plays
Starting point is 00:13:42 out with everything else going on i there is an issue or rather a rooting interest for me that transcends our teams and i'll get into that a little bit later it doesn't really matter i have a rooting interest that for for somebody who's not on my team i'll put it that way wow you don't usually feel feelings so that's exciting yeah well i didn't say it was i didn't say that the core of it was feelings. Oh, okay. All right. My bad.
Starting point is 00:14:08 My bad. Silly. Silly me. Yeah. What an idiot. I should have known better. I should have known better. My bad.
Starting point is 00:14:15 My bad. Yeah. It's for a great reason. It's probably a stupid reason. That makes you love. Honestly, you're missing out if you're not on this group date because this group tape is great. It's awesome. It's awesome.
Starting point is 00:14:25 And it's wild. And there's a lot going on in the house with all of the dynamics amongst the women that are left. So you're missing out if you're not there. Oh, I know. I'm just telling you. Oh, yeah. No, this is a solid. It is a solid group date.
Starting point is 00:14:39 But what I like about this little crew right here is they all feel for Zoe. And Zoe goes to confessor. She goes, it's pretty telling at this point. Like, she's very all business now. And she's like, you know, this is what I needed to hear. Now I heard it. And she goes to the confession. It's kind of fucking embarrassing.
Starting point is 00:14:55 And I'm like, God, I actually feel really bad for it right now. Yeah. And so do the other ladies in the room except for one little stick in the mud? Do you remember when Zoe was that? the villain very early on because she stole him from the basketball game and she didn't apologize for anything and she didn't feel bad for the other women who didn't get any time and then all of a sudden a new villain popped up in the last couple of episodes and that seems to be an issue we forgive Zoe now and we even feel bad for it's very flippant the way that these
Starting point is 00:15:23 uh these relationships sure sure i'll give you that but i also think that repeat offenses is going to make people more yeah and like well i'll get into my theory with all of it like when we get more into the carolina stuff because she obviously we've seen her not be the happiest when it comes to group dates sharing time with grant she's very obvious she wears her emotions on her sleeve she brings down everyone's vibe when she's not the one at the center of attention so she's doing it again here and dina is like trying to meet her halfway she's like yeah you know but it's like quality over quantity and like we're trying to get good time not a bunch of time right and because she's the one that defended carolina last yeah she stuck up for her and it's sort of just like a
Starting point is 00:16:11 we're all feeling bad for zoe right now and carolina is immediately like why are you feeling bad for her or not me yeah i don't have a date either you so yeah shut up like and look i there's there's towing the line of and we talk about this all the time which by the way hold on really quick do you know what I saw at the end of this episode? They do have a psychologist on the staff. They do. They do. They do have a psychologist because I don't know how I caught it.
Starting point is 00:16:41 I was watching scenes for next week and like the future and whatever. And I was locked in and the credits at the bottom for whatever reason, I looked down briefly. And I saw psychologist, you know, whatever assistant or something like that, like on staff, whatever. And to be able to get a credit at the. end within two episodes they're crying it's like what did you expect if you never you watch like the people that talk about this are like i've watched the bachelor for so long the bachelorette for so long and it's such a great time it just looks romantical it looks like a fairy tale and then you get
Starting point is 00:17:12 there and you're crying within two episodes yeah because you just see the on-staff psychologist yeah well like what do you could see me like that's my whole thing and like that's kind of like my shit with carolina where she's getting bent out of shape about not having the same amount of as she did with the one-on-one and she's pissed off that she made this connection with Grant and like in her head it's a deeper connection than everyone else has it's like but you don't get to dictate what connection he has with other ladies here and this is the game this is the whole point that's why you're here and now you're getting pissed off because he's spending time with other women it's like well yeah welcome to bachelor nation I know it's just I don't
Starting point is 00:17:51 know if we've seen it at least not in our tenure because we've been here for a short amount of time where it repeats itself every week and that person keeps getting a rose so you're like well yeah dude all these other women need time with him too that's kind of the point he's trying to find love if you believe in that or if it's just a show it's still that's the stipulation everyone needs to talk to grant so he can make a decision at the end of this year and that and that's again that's where you tow the line where you're like yeah but like if i talk to grant more I have a better shot at getting a rose I don't care if anybody else else gets to talk to them. Starting point is 00:19:40 not care about other people's feelings on the show. You can call me a villain if you want to, but I need to put myself first, but then you start to get to a point where we've seen multiple snitches happen this season alone. I mean, there's more snitches in this than I think that I've ever seen from any clip on Bachelor. It's just every time if somebody oversteps,
Starting point is 00:19:58 it's like, I gotta go talk to Grant about this. I guess maybe it's because Grant, like, portrays himself as like a, everybody has to be okay. Like, I got to make sure everybody's okay. Some people are going to take advantage of it. And other people are like, oh, no, I have to go tell Grant. He's our hall monitor. Like, he needs that part of it.
Starting point is 00:20:15 And I think the other part is more so because he is always going to make sure everyone's cool. it somehow belittles what carolina is doing to all of the other women there which i think he should know about because he's like yeah because when we see in the group date later when he does take the time and like we haven't gotten to juliana's one-on-one yet but he takes the time to go talk to carolina pretty much taking up the entire date right in his head though he's like i need to make her feel better make her feel okay and at the end of it he's not in my opinion and not thinking about the fact that he just wasted all of his time with the other ladies. So I think that-
Starting point is 00:20:56 I wonder how much of that got cut short by the rain. Like if there was supposed to be a lot more, or if it was as long, because that's the other thing with editing on this show. There's no telling you know, he's out there the entire time, but like he could have been out there for 10 minutes. They could have been back here and then all of a sudden it started raining
Starting point is 00:21:10 and like the group dates over. So it is just kind of weird, the whole setup of everything. But yeah, I agree with you. It's, it is one of those. You tow the line,
Starting point is 00:21:21 he's like he's like I have to look inward I have to figure out what's wrong with me because I realize that I'm making sure that one person's okay but I realize that I'm neglecting six others it's like yeah you are dude you are and I think that's the only time because we saw in the bachelor red you run the risk of snitching of making that time not about you and the bachelor the bachelorette's connection so then they're like are this supposed to be about us but you're so worried about somebody else so you run the risk of doing that and alienating yourself. But at the same time, Grant should know, like, hey, I know you're trying to make her feel better. You're also ignoring all of us. And Caroline has been mean to everybody in the house. And if you're trying to pick somebody to spend the rest of your life with,
Starting point is 00:22:07 she's been an asshole to literally everybody here. Just the heads up. Like, I think there's give and take to it. But it is a risk because he could be like, why are you snitching? Yeah. That would have been such a funny turn. We'll get back to Julianna's day. Yeah, let's finish up Julian's date so long.
Starting point is 00:22:23 I agree. And obviously we're going to get a little trauma dump, but it's a very sweet scene because they both connect on the fact. She doesn't let slip who it is in her life that dealt with addiction, but somebody close to her battle addiction during her childhood. So obviously that made her put walls up. She had a hard time connecting with her emotions. And lo and behold, who else had a very similar childhood?
Starting point is 00:22:48 Grant did. So I think watching this date gave me a lot of confidence with Julianne and more so than I've had. I think she's been kind of middle of the road up until this point. I'm like, yeah, she's good. She could go all the way. But I don't know if they're that tight yet. After this scene, I was like, oh, hell yeah. And then we get the smooch in front of the fireworks, which is a 9.1 out of 10.
Starting point is 00:23:09 We're in the nines. We finally cracked the nines. Wow. Because it was. It was passionate. It looked good. there was fireworks in front of the bind a castle i was like i buy it i buy everything that they're selling right now nine point one yeah they could be dressed a little bit better but you know i'll
Starting point is 00:23:27 take it uh i'm not gonna lie who's looking at their clothes i'm looking at their tongues oh oh god i uh i don't even know where i'm going to go with this anymore no um i'm not a lie when juliana started to talk about it and like obviously we know like our feelers go up right away we're like up here comes the trauma dump we got to do it this is the only way to get close to somebody else it is the bachelor script i did not think i really thought that like because she kind of like clunkily if that's a word got into it and i'm like it seems like not like she was apprehensive to talk about it more like she was trying to think of something on the spot like oh my god this is my moment to traumat up i have to trauma it up and i thought it was
Starting point is 00:24:11 going to be so meaningless and so stupid and then she got to do it and I'm like oh fuck all right this is actually legit okay yeah this is real and then obviously grant has to deal with this as well and he can tell you know what's going on and they can kind of you know relate over all of those things but up front I'm like where is she going to go with this because I don't know what's happening here and if she pulls something out of her ass and it's just like nothing just a complete blank slate it's like oh boy it's a tough look but no she she had something there I think she was just nervous on how to broach. I think she was, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:43 And yeah, she did a nice job. And I just think that, look, they're just two lone wolves. Let's get to the group date. 9.1, smooch, we're on to the group date. I'm proud of Zoe because Zoe rallied. She's like, look, this is my last shot here. I'm not going to go out like that just because I didn't get a group eight one-on-one. I'm coming in with a smile on my face, positive attitude.
Starting point is 00:25:04 We're going to make sure this day goes the best way for me. And I'm just going to, what does she say? She said, I'm going to, oh, no. that's carolina because carolina is not stoked she is super unstoked she hates group dates she lets everybody there know that she hates group dates so she's going to come into this and she says she's going to bide her time and see what happens more or less which we all know what she's going to do yep and she does it but i agree the group date is lit they're playing scottish highland games like they're doing a whole flip they're doing all these like i've seen
Starting point is 00:25:36 these on like espn a the ocho like oh yeah yeah yeah dude These games look fun as shit. This looks like a fun day. Everybody's all in because they know what today is. This is, it's hometowns next week. Serapina's going all in. Tina's going all in. Zoe feels scorned and yet she still showed up to work.
Starting point is 00:25:56 And there's one negative Nancy, one big fucking Debbie Downer who can't even smile during musical goddamn chairs. And she was rude to the guests or to the people who were resting. Are you kidding? me fucking nuts. What do you leave them alone? They're just there to have a good Scottish time and you're ruining everyone else's time.
Starting point is 00:26:16 And she's over there, that's where it was like when we talk about, you know, playing games and realizing what you can do. And like if you look at Grant, you know that he's going to come over and make sure that you're okay. Like maybe you're just a Debbie Downer the whole time. If it's a play,
Starting point is 00:26:29 I think it's pretty obvious that it's a play. This was just her being miserable the entire time. She was mopee. He's just mopey. Yeah, she was mopey and she was mean to everybody. She didn't want to be there. she just wanted to go sit by herself like she sucked that was yeah dude watch not a fan not a fan at all and like look because they obviously sit down because grant sees her moping and he's like hey
Starting point is 00:26:52 you want to come join us she's like i'm good and i'm like dude read read the room then go back to the other girls they're all in a great mood and they want to hang out with you she wants to try to steal time she's feeling sorry for herself because she joined a game show and it's not getting enough time with you but instead because grant is grant takes her off to go have a chit-chat at, and there's two ways to play this, okay? And I will say, because obviously we get much more to Carolina later and her response to everybody or reaction to everybody, I'm not anti-play the game. Like if she's doing it this way where it's like, look, it's my fucking time.
Starting point is 00:27:28 I'm going to get as much time with them as I can. Fuck you. I'm not here to make friends. I'd be like, all right, cool. It's a game. But you can't, you can't do it this method. If that's going to be you, then lean into it. go up to them while everyone's playing games be like grant let's go take a let's go take a stroll i would
Starting point is 00:27:45 have no issue with that at all but the fact that she is being rude to other people she's sitting by herself at the table drawing negative attention to herself until grant comes over to make sure she's okay i don't like that move but do i understand trying to get the most time yeah totally it's that's what the whole point of the show is just if you're going to do that because we understand it doesn't mean we have to support it no because i don't like the method in which she's doing it like If you're going to do that, then walk in front of all of the other women over there, go right up to Grant and say, hey, can I, can I steal you for five? Let's go take a stroll in the grounds.
Starting point is 00:28:17 Then I'd be like, hey, that's fine. Fair is fair. Yeah. Yeah, that's the game. But she's not doing it. Look at the highlands over there. Let's go take a little stroll over there. So go take a gander at the highlands.
Starting point is 00:28:27 What do you say, Grant? But she, her whole spiel to him is, obviously, yeah, it's been really hard because, and I also didn't, like the way she was speaking. I'm like, you don't believe this stuff. I don't think. She's like, you just have stronger connections with everybody else. And I thought that we were good. And now I just don't think we are.
Starting point is 00:28:46 I'm like, hmm, I think you're fishing. I think you're fishing is what I think you're doing. And I don't care for it. And again, you've got these other ladies over there sitting down. And I would love to get an interview from the people that worked this event to be like, what was that like when they were talking over there? Because three other ladies or four of the ladies are just sitting at the table. watching them and commentating on the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:29:11 I wanted cameras on them the whole time. I didn't really care about what Caroline and Grant were saying, to be honest with you. No, because we knew what was going to happen over there. She's just going to try to make them feel bad for not including her and making sure that she's okay, even though that's what he's doing right now. And yeah, I'm with you. I want to hear what the rest of the crew has to say because they're there. They're expecting Grant to be moving around with all these girls.
Starting point is 00:29:32 They're going to watch how all of this works and instead this happens. And then it rains. And then it rains. It's a big letdown. It's a big letdown. And, like, Dina, I'm glad she was able to see this side of it because she's sitting there. And she's the one that stuck up for Carolina previously. And it says the other lady's like, I get it now.
Starting point is 00:29:48 Like, I did, I stood up for and now I understand seeing it firsthand. So, yeah, this is bullshit. And it is bullshit. And all the girls are upset. It goes back to Carolina. And she's like, I just feel like, it's so funny. So I just feel like I'm associated with negativity. And like, I don't want the drama.
Starting point is 00:30:03 I'm like, are you sure? Are you sure? Are you sure? you're inviting it because there's a common denominator here and again like I said if this is your game plan and you fucking go full throttle and lean into it no issues at all zero I wouldn't even be talking about it right now but it's just where you're going about it that's the problem but don't care for it don't care for it either but we get to the group date dinner and the the word of the evening is damsel in distress or phrase of the evening is damsel and distressed and everybody is livid with carolina they're not not even looking at her they're not talking to her grant comes in he's like and this makes me question grant how much he's paying attention to everything so he's like did we have fun and everyone's like no no he's like i thought it was a great day i'm like where were you like this day sucked balls you went and hung out with one person while four six there that rain that rain came in at a bad
Starting point is 00:31:00 time huh no it has nothing to do with the rain grant you left everybody to go talk to one person like yeah they're kind of mad right now grant they're not not vibing they're not vibing currently and there's one person that's the problem but zoie gets her one-on-one time finally and she's like look this is a weird day i'm glad that she brought up to him the fact that she hasn't gotten a one-on-one date and she's pretty upset about that grant spin zones it a little bit to where he's like yeah i thought we had a good enough connection but at the same time we saw with the bachelorette one-on-ones didn't necessarily mean he got further because we saw Austin squeaked through multiple weeks and he never even talked to Jen Tran. It didn't seem like he was just there. Yeah, but we're
Starting point is 00:31:44 getting close to the hometowns. I think it is crazy that you're going to introduce her or she's going to introduce them to her family and they have not yet been on a date together. That is pretty nuts. Yeah, that actually is pretty nuts. Spoiler alert. Ah, shit. It's 33 minutes into the fucking podcast we can spoil things at this point what do you want for me what do you want for me if she gets picked she was going to have to go into it's only one spoiler there's still three others four others yeah exactly exactly but they seem like they are doing fine so i'm not as worried about them sarahina sarahina was looking forward to the group date she felt like she had some ground to make up she didn't get her chance to do that alex didn't either we haven't seen sparks with alex since
Starting point is 00:32:29 the mall date really so i think that she needed it i think sarah Farfina needed it. I actually was weirdly confident about Zoe even when she didn't get the one on one date. But I just felt for those other two, I'm like, they needed time. Carolina took that time. And that's messed up, especially because she's acting like she didn't want to do that. It's like, yeah, you did. I didn't want to do that.
Starting point is 00:32:49 I tried to remove myself from the situation, guys. No, you didn't. You sat over there moping. You know exactly what you did. And it worked. But while Grant's talking to Alex, all of the ladies start. chit chatting and dina brings up the whole lack of time today and i love that everyone's just taking shots at this point now like carolina is on the couch but they're not looking at it and
Starting point is 00:33:14 they're like zoe goes yeah i just think it's important to be positive you know just got to be positive the whole time and it's like yeah honestly there's nothing gained from pouting coming from dina he's just you know be strong just taking shot after shot and carrie just like they had they had so much energy at that group date that they didn't get to actually use because they didn't get to talk to Grant so now they're just funneling it negatively towards Carolina
Starting point is 00:33:40 yeah and she's like this behavior is childish I'm like yes it is it is but so were you so all's fair right all's fair in love and more so you started it and they're just getting their licks in because they're mad at you because you took all the time today and then Dina like really goes in because she feels like some type of way
Starting point is 00:33:58 because she did stand up for Carolina. So now she looks stupid. So that pisses her off too. She's like, I thought that we had more respect for one another. And it's just the lack of accountability with you and just own up and you're ungrateful. And she just keeps going and going and going. And Sarah Fina's like fed up and she shuts it all down. And she's like, that's it. We're done. We're done with her. We're not doing this anymore. We're done. And I'm like, fuck yeah, everybody. This is awesome actually. I mean, I just love like at the moment too, we're like, Caroline is just kind of like going into it. Like she's fully taking on the villain role. She's saying the right things at this point, saying, you know, obviously
Starting point is 00:34:33 aside from the fact that, you know, she didn't intend to do that. She definitely did. We all know that she did. You can't even debate that. But she is saying, what, are you guys worried about your own connection? You know what? I'm over here. I'm worried about this. I'm worried about that. Like, she was egging them on and they were getting madder and then I won on one time. And it's like, no, they're not. That's a good, good call. You're right. Exactly. They can't do that. So it just kept going off and off and off. And look, Dina was there for it. Dina was not done with her she was ready and i don't care you get up and you start walking away it's like what are you going to go run and tell grant you're going to go run and tell grant like yeah she might actually
Starting point is 00:35:05 go through that because that that would be crazy she's like maybe i am what was her line she had a line up the steps so crazy and evil crazy and evil yeah she's waving her arms that's fucking stinging it yeah but like i mean that's what you have to do you got to get it all out there this is your last chance you got a hometowns next week you got to beef with somebody go after yeah why not fuck it who cares who cares you might not be here not be here not Nothing. Nothing. You lost another group date.

Starting point is 00:37:27 Goldfish have short memories. Be like goldfish. We get a one-on-one conversation with Grant and Dina. And Dina has decided, you know what? Grant needs to know what's been going on. And like I said, and this is where I wrote down, risky move, because this could go one way where you get your point across and now Grant knows what's going on.
Starting point is 00:37:50 Or he's going to think that you're trying to stir up some shit and throw Carolina under the bus, and it's going to reflect poorly on you. It's a risky move. It's a very risky move. There wasn't as much risk associated with this only because the rest of the girls would have had her back. If we got the typical scene where this happens, he tries to, like, we've seen this so many times already, especially with Rose who left last week too. But we're sitting here now like, all right, if he does what he normally does, which is talk and try to pull it out of her, he knows exactly what she's talking about right away.
Starting point is 00:38:20 But if he goes back to the group and says, does everybody have this issue? All of the other women would say, yeah, we do. We have an issue with her. We can't do this. So I think it would have backed her up and actually gave her some sort of confidence, or at least instilled some confidence into Grant saying, all right, no, she's got everybody else's back, which is, again, what Grant wants. If Grant's the type of guy that's going to go check on somebody who's bounty, he's also
Starting point is 00:38:43 going to like the type of woman who's standing up for the rest of the house, trying to make sure that everybody's okay, because that's what he wants and that's what he's one of this whole time. That's a good point. It's a really good point. It's a good point. And like he says, when she goes to talk to him, like they have such a tight connection that he's like I trust her more than anybody in this house for the most part so like I'm going to take what she's saying truthfully and I'm going to hear her out and I'm going to apply that so it worked for her because he takes it well and he also takes a second like you said to sit there and go shit this seems to be a recurring theme with carolina this is not the first time it's come up and now Dina of all people is bringing it up to me so I'm going to take a second look at this and now he's rattled a little bit I think that's important because up until this point I kind of thought
Starting point is 00:39:27 he knew who he was going to take with him. And now I'm like, I think there's through a wrench into it. And he does get to the Latia one-on-one date, which, I mean, it was a great date. I don't think that it surprises anybody after seeing them the first time around. Like, they clearly get on very well. It's clearly like a very natural connection, as they call it. I would think that these two have been dating for years, the way that they vibe together, honestly, and they're bopping around Edinburgh and they're tying the knot, and they're doing all these other
Starting point is 00:39:57 things and even the way they talk to each other's like just cute as shit she's like I'm just so excited about you I'm like that's so cute there's there's a stark difference between like him going on a date with her and it's almost like yeah early on in those first couple episodes when he has the one-on-ones you're just trying to see where everybody lands where they are and they all go well everybody gets a rose after a one-on-one as it is and they all look very cute but I don't remember seeing a second one-on-one last year when we were covering this for uh jans one did we get us did we get one yeah i think we'd one repeat one but the fact that like she got a second one did because austin was pissed it was a similar scenario austin was
Starting point is 00:40:39 mad at the sheep farm wow i don't know why i remember this i don't know because it was a group date and he that was the episode that he was like what am i doing here and then he locked in for the sheep thing he's like that was his zoie muller it's like i'm going to go all fucking out for the sheep here and she's going to notice me and he still didn't get the one on one day so i think that was and somebody else had gotten a double yeah somebody else had gotten the one-on-one yeah so that's probably what happened but it just looks so organic it looks so authentic like yeah two of them talking there's no stutters there's no like immediate like yeah i'm sure we had a trauma dump which i can't really remember them the first one they had the one-on-one but this one was just like two people
Starting point is 00:41:18 who really like each other just getting to know each other and it just seemed so nice just so beautiful it was it was even their date night this was what I've been waiting for because obviously we cover a lot of Mormon related shows we uh we cover multiple three actually salt lake selling salt lake or whatever sold on sLC we did an episode of and then um secret lives of Mormon wives so i'd like to think that we know a little bit about the Mormon faith so this is my biggest question mark was how does grant fit into you being a member of the LDS church because as we know very conservative especially if they follow actual Mormon traditions drinking tattoos piercings dating outside of the religion the fact
Starting point is 00:42:08 that it's a male dominant religion like there's a lot of factors at play here that I was genuinely curious how that was going to vibe when Grant goes out to where she's in Utah correct I yeah I think she's out in Utah again spoiler number two for everybody who's going to complain about it, it's not me. It's steel. It is not. All right, guys.
Starting point is 00:42:29 It's all right. But I do think this was the right play. I think this is one of those things where everything's going so well. And there's probably a holdup, maybe a minor holdup or major holdup, depending on how it goes, with what's going on with her family, with the Mormon church, with all of those things that come along with it. So I think it's smart of her to sit down in this one-on-one time and talk about it. Like, let's get it out there. By the way, this is what I am.
Starting point is 00:42:52 You know, I'm part of L. yes i'm doing this you know it's very strict my upbringing was very strict in the church and i just want you to know that this is who i am but obviously you've gotten to know me on a deeper level so right i'm going to leave this up to you to decide for yourself so put it out there that way he's not shocked if he does select you which steel already told us he does select her to go to hometowns so that way he knows what he's getting into at least somewhat you know i probably can't plan that much but he has an idea of what he's getting into if he chooses you to go out there. Yeah, it'll be interesting.
Starting point is 00:43:25 It'll be interesting to see that. I mean, if, if, for sure. Yeah, totally if. Look, it was a very good day. It was a very good date. You can tell that there's a big connection here. And Grant says, I'm falling for you, 8.9 out of 10 on the kiss. Just because, and maybe that's biased because there was no fireworks.
Starting point is 00:43:46 I don't know entirely, but 8.9. Did you rate the double kiss? that he gave carolina on the rock i didn't i didn't think it was worth it probably not yeah it wasn't worth it that wasn't worth it for me that got an n a not applicable yeah i was i was like kind of looking and then i was trying to figure out what else was going on then i heard him say give me a kiss i'm like whoa what's going on over here just kiss me but she goes to a confessional and her word choice is interesting she's like it made me want to love him and thanks to the
Starting point is 00:44:21 producers like well do you I love that too like well what do you she's like yes I'm like hell yeah first first real love from the show so that's big and as we know they gotta say it soon you know you don't want to say it too soon
Starting point is 00:44:37 you can't say it well you're still a mention but you know hometowns after home towns yeah during hometowns I think after you're done with your family if you're having a moment afterwards that was so amazing you vibe so well feeling really strong. I think the approach is during hometowns or right after hometowns,
Starting point is 00:44:54 you drop the I'm falling for you. And then when you get to, whether it's Hawaii or wherever the hell they go this year, when you get out there, then you drop the love bomb. Yeah. What if that's too late? I don't think.
Starting point is 00:45:07 That's what I'm saying. If you feel really strong, if you're a strong contender, you can do that. Or you could go to somebody's room and emotionally manipulate them and say that you're going to leave the show unless they say, I love you. Devin,
Starting point is 00:45:18 do that devon from the bachelor worked out well for him not my wife devon just clarify that one devon from the bachelorette now we know how steel spent prom night what no we took different dates to prom and we still ended up together at the end of the night whoops you couldn't keep us apart man what do you want for me what do you want but rose ceremony right before we get to the rose ceremony i didn't know what this move was it was interesting carolina takes Dina upstairs is a desperation move by 15 minutes of fame type of move. Is that what that was? It could have been.
Starting point is 00:45:54 Okay, fine. Yeah, she takes her upstairs to have a conversation, like everything you did meant so much to me. It's like, well, if it did, you would have been so mean to her after she stuck up for you, but okay, whatever, I'll buy this bullshit for another couple of minutes. But we get back to the row ceremony. Obviously, the overarching theme of this episode was lack of one-on-one time in a very crucial episode that you needed the lack of one-on-one time or you needed the one-on-one time.
Starting point is 00:46:18 So in my head, I'm like, I don't know if she's going to go home because of the one-on-one we saw with Grant and Carolina, but I just felt like it was her time to go. I'm like, she needs to get out of here because she's ruining everyone else's time. And again, I have no problem with that. That's the point of the show, but I don't like the way that she went about it. Like, she just needed to own it. Be the villain. Be the fucking villain. Dylan, sorry, Devin was the villain from that season.
Starting point is 00:46:44 And up until he turned into the biggest fuck boy on the planet, we liked him. but he also played that way where he would steal as much time as he could so there's not a problem with that i don't need to keep rehashing the same thing it's just that was my frustration was but we go through the rose ceremony to no surprise we get letia first rose second was uh juliana which wasn't surprising either the third rose went to help me out because i didn't write this did this so much i wanted to find out because i knew we were recording tonight i'd watch the majority of this this morning i had to finish this episode in my truck i think driving to golf i'm pretty sure third rose went to zoe yes i thought so it was okay i think no zoi was the last one because i know
Starting point is 00:47:30 joey was the last rose dina dina got the third row dina there you go dina got the third rose and you get that big like dun dun dun dun and we only have three people without roses seraphina alex zohy and carolina so four four people without rose and you're roses. Zoe locks down the last one. Goodbye, Alex. Goodbye, Carolina. Goodbye, Sarah Fiona. I'm bummed about. Alex had a great start. She just hadn't done much since then. Yeah. You know, and it happens. It happens. And also you can blame Carolina for that. You can get a lot of one-on-one time after that. I did think that she did do stuff. Like she was, she was talking and she put herself out there. I think she played a good game. Just came down to not
Starting point is 00:48:15 having enough time. Serafina, I felt really bad for her because I think that she was finally at a place where she was about to really open up and really let go and really buy into this whole process. I think so too. Yeah. I could say that. Yeah. I think it got cut short just one episode too early. But I like the final four. I really like the final four works really well. I think it shows with, you know, obviously recency bias with some people. But yeah, Juliana, I feel like, has done enough thus far. I still don't see her as like a main contender. Who do you have as like a top two right now?
Starting point is 00:48:52 My top two is Latia is number one. And I could see Zoe sneaking in there. Zoe's number two for me. But like the reason why it's only because of her personality and the way that she's played the game fits her personality. And I think that she's different than the other. They're all different from each other. But I feel like she is much more like shut off.
Starting point is 00:49:17 And I think the fact that Grant has, because the other ladies claim to be shut off and some of them are a little bit. But Zoe's very much like it's hard for me to be emotional. Grant has gotten that part of her where he's got to see some of that. So I think he's a little more enthralled, a little more enamored with Zoe. So that makes sense to me. But I would say, honestly, Latia won Zoe two,
Starting point is 00:49:38 but very close behind that to me is Juliana. And then Dina is the wild card at this point. So Dina is the one who. who I'm saying is transcending where she's on your team, but I'm slowly rooting for her just because of how she handled Carolina this episode. And I like the ebbs and flows of it. I like that last week she sat there, defended Carolina for most of the same reasons that we talk about these shows. Like, look, if you have a problem with her stealing one-on-one time, go steal Grant. You know, you can't hold that on her. She's not trying to do anything outside of the realm of the game.
Starting point is 00:50:07 This week, I think that you could argue that she was doing things that actually affected Dina. and that's why Dina's like, oh, shit, maybe I was wrong. But we could also argue that Carolina was going outside of the realms of the game. She was doing too much and it was too, I don't know. I don't want to call it like dirty play, but it is kind of dirty play. It was a little, it's just to try to tug on the hard strings in the middle of a group date. That's what it was. That was the motion manipulation.
Starting point is 00:50:34 It was in the middle of a group date towards the end. It's a tough look and you didn't even get it. And that little sit down with Dina, like, you know, I like the Dina just forgave her. Because who cares? You're probably never going to see her again. Well, the reunion. But other than that, you're not really going to have. Oh, yeah, the reunion.
Starting point is 00:50:50 Yeah, we're going to have a reunion at some point, baby. But yeah, so, I mean, it leaves the teams with Steele with three and me with one. Steele's got Zoe, Juliana, and Dina, and I've got Latia. So we'll have to keep a close eye on that, the whole Mormon homecoming. See how Grant does with that. Yeah, it's going to be out. I could be out next week. Who knows?
Starting point is 00:51:11 I don't think you're going to be. I don't think it's going to have her until the ends. I don't know if he's going to choose. Well, it's going to be tough. I think he's got the best connection with her, but I do think that, you know, and we're not shitting on Mormons at all. I'm just saying it's a very specific lifestyle.
Starting point is 00:51:28 Yeah. It's going to be interesting to see how that meshes, how they mesh with each other in that one. Yeah. But I do think she's going to make it through to the end. I think she and Grant have the most real connection. I do think that's going to play. dina yeah i like dina a lot especially because in the beginning we had pegged hers the villain
