I'm going to say that you cried enough for the both of us, probably. Yeah, definitely. Yeah. Bros and shows. I gotta have me my pros and shows. Bros and shows. I got to have me my Bros and shows. I'm co-host, Steele Russell, joined, as always, by the one and only, Len Gutman. Oh, that was pretty good. Nice.
Starting point is 00:01:10 What a show. What a fun show to cover. Just delightful to just throw it on. Just enjoy yourself. Get some good music, watch some good dancing. Loved it. Just there's not a whole, there's not, there's really not, it's a very short list of shows, I should say, that just make you feel good, you know?
Starting point is 00:01:28 just make you happy there's not drama you know you don't have to worry about that i mean i'm sure there is we dig into like what's going on behind the scenes but we're not doing that we don't do that here we just like to watch the dances uh other than i would like a follow up on hilaria and gleb where are they now what are they doing i mean are they important enough to be on like page six like what we know it's just more for like a you and me kind of thing i think so because gleb was in the he was making the rounds on socials because he apparently he's a huge douchebag. So maybe, maybe there's enough there.
Starting point is 00:02:01 And Dance with the Stars is big enough. I also feel like I'm like a quarterback that's seeing ghosts in the pocket. Like when they pan to the crowd, I feel like I see Alec Baldwin every time. He's just there every week. I wouldn't be surprised if he was still there. I just, I don't know. I can't seem to shake them. Like the image of Alec Baldwin's in my head and I can't seem to get rid of them.
Starting point is 00:02:24 And I don't know what's going on. I think I've got problems. Yeah, you got a little rust, you need to shake on there. Rust syndrome, yeah. Now, this is Dedication Week on Dancing with the Stars, which is always my favorite week because you get to have a nice little cry. You get to watch some very emotional dances. It's also usually far enough along in the season where you're really starting to see
Starting point is 00:02:46 some improvement. You're seeing some really good dancing for the most part. There's still some in here that we will discuss. But let's just jump in. I just want to just spoil it dive right in. Let's spoil this shit. No one goes home. Everyone's safe, so I can't spoil it.
Starting point is 00:03:02 I knew no one went home before I even turned the episode on. Nobody can't send someone home on dedication night. So once I realized, it was the third party aspect that really sunk in for me. And I'm like, okay, yeah, you can't send anybody home. Because you can't have Dylan Efron dancing with his, what, five-year-old sister, four-year-old sister, who was just running around out there and actually try to judge him on it and be like, oh, I don't know, you might be going home this week. That was a really nice dance or like Robert dancing for his mom.
Starting point is 00:03:32 It's like, you can't send anybody home on dedication night. Do they always do this? I don't remember. I've watched seasons prior and they have dedication. I don't remember the family members getting involved in the dance. That was new for me. So I don't know when they. No, that was new.
Starting point is 00:03:48 That was definitely new. They said, uh, somebody said it. I don't know who said it, but one of the judges said, um, this is the first, year that we actually have a third member of the dance team during it. Okay. So there you go. Yeah, but they have done dedication night in the past. Yes.
Starting point is 00:04:04 So it's always an emotional dance to symbolize something. And let's jump into this one because I can't wait any longer. And there's one person on this show that probably should not be on this show. But God, he's delightful to watch. And that's Andy Richter because this is clearly the popular vote. that he's getting and that's why he's here week in week out because he's on a different scale entirely we call it the richter scale all the puns intended there but he does the salsa to jump in the line by harry belafonte with his adopted daughter cornelia and it's this beautiful story you know
Starting point is 00:04:44 he didn't think he's going to have kids and he met and like the his wife didn't think that she was going to get remarried or whatever and then they ended up getting married and now he has this beautiful relationship with his adopted stepdaughter and and it's just this amazing story and they go out there and they dance to this. That song always reminds me of Beetlejuice. Every time. It's always Beetlejuice.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Every single time. But I thought that obviously he's not nearly as good as the other dancers, right? Yeah. But I did see improvement. I thought he was better this week. I thought there was improvement because it's one of those, like I'm dancing with my daughter and I want to give it my all. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:21 And it could be both. It could be that he really stepped up tonight, but also he's probably making improvement because at some point something's got to give, right? If you've been going week to week, I don't know how much they're practicing, but I imagine they're practicing a pretty good thing. It's a lot. Yeah, it's a lot. So, yeah, I mean, at some point you're going to have to show some improvement, right?
Starting point is 00:05:42 I agree. And I think that we could have slipped the seven in there. You know, one person could have given a lot to say about the judging. Right. Yeah, the judging is bullshit. We need to talk about the judging. And we'll get to that with our next. couple dancing but i'm glad nobody went home this week i do think that next week we need to say
Starting point is 00:06:01 goodbye to andy it's just not fair to these other dancers and that's where this judging system gets so questionable as far as like how much of the judges votes or the judges scores count against the votes and all that we don't know the algorithm i wish we did or at least had more info on it but yeah he gets a 24 so four six is across the board we also are uh graced with a a fourth judge in Kim Johnson, who is just delightful. She needs to be a full-time judge because she was fantastic. Yeah, she's incredible. I did just look up very quickly.
Starting point is 00:06:37 It is a 50-50 ratio. So it's the judge's scores and the viewers vote. That's crazy. That's where I don't really understand. I guess it's a percentage, I would imagine. So they would probably put it, you get a whole 100% of the fan voting and then the percentage of that voting for the team gets added to the judge's scores okay yeah i think i got it that's that's bizarre that you give the fans that much power
Starting point is 00:07:10 why are we allowed to dictate this so much because they want viewers and they want people to tune in now obviously i'm sure people have figured out a way this goes all the way back to the first or second season of American Idol. They figured out a way to vote multiple times, I'm sure. Juice the system. Yeah, juice the system. Get your favorites in there.
Starting point is 00:07:32 But at some point, again, he's going to have to go. We're going to have to say goodbye to Andy. It's not this week, not on dedication night, not while he had a beautiful dance with his daughter, but next week.
Starting point is 00:07:43 What is next week is wicked night? I don't know how that's going to go. No, God. We don't like when there's promoted show. It always, what was the one the Bachelor did a wicked night? Remember that? the best red gen trans season.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Yeah, that was so stupid. We just shit on it the entire. It was so dumb. The whole thing was one big Disney commercial. That's what next week is going to be as well. Yeah. I'm not looking forward to that. But yeah, I thought it was a very touching dance.
Starting point is 00:08:07 I do see some slight improvement out of Andy. And I think the biggest thing, the most infectious thing about him is just how much he wants to be there, how much he enjoys it. You know, so good for him. We'll see how it shakes out. Now, let's get to one of my favorite dances of the night for so many reasons. A lot of you may not know this. I know I say it every week, but you still may not know that I wanted to be a herpetologist, which is the study of reptiles, not other things, okay, when I was a kid because of Steve Irwin.
Starting point is 00:08:34 But you know who else was a staple on the crocodile hunter? Who? Terry. Terry Irwin was a staple on that show. She's an absolute rock star. And I thought that this was a great idea because we always hear about Steve. And we should hear about Steve. He was a great man, great person.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Love that guy. But you don't hear about Terry a lot. And Terry is a goddamn rock. She stood firm for that family. And she kept everything going. And Terry deserves some damn respect. And so Robert took it upon himself to dance to you'll be in my heart by Phil Collins, which I mean, tear jerker right there.
Starting point is 00:09:10 And they did a contemporary dance, which I'm not, I don't always love contemporary dances because they're a little wacky. The vibe that I got from contemporary dances is it only works this week. It only works for this week Because they're so interpretive They're so all over the place They don't make any sense There's no virginity
Starting point is 00:09:29 You can't fucking score them Did it look good? Did they have fun? Was it flowing well? Cool, you get a good score. Did I cry? Yes, you get a score. That's pretty much, no, I didn't cry.
Starting point is 00:09:40 I'm saying if the judge cried. If the judge cried, you get an extra point or two. That's pretty much how it works. And I do think it took maybe the third or fourth contemporary dance because a lot of the contestants did them. By that point, I'm like, all right, how the fuck are you even going to judge this? It looked good, but I don't know what the hell's going on here. And it's just for dedication night.
Starting point is 00:09:59 I'd be very surprised if we see another contemporary for the rest of the season. I don't think we're at that point. But it really works for this because it was flowing well. And it's a good way to just get a third party in there. And in this case, it was Terry coming out there to join her son and have a beautiful moment out there. And it was very nice. It was. And she was only at the end.
Starting point is 00:10:18 We see different levels of involvement. during the dances she just gets involved in the end i thought from what you can judge the transition was crazy by the way yes they panned away and then who's he done is he dancing with riley he's dancing with whitney carson he's dancing with whitney yeah when whitney disappears and then terry shows up like that was great camera work i did not expect to see on dancing with the stars no and i just the whole dance was beautiful i thought he was good like i assume what you judge is like posture you know the moves that he is doing, like the turns, the pivots. They say pivot a lot, so I'm locked in on pivoting now.
Starting point is 00:10:54 Sure. Everything that he did, I thought, was exceptional. Like, he looked good. It looked great. It looked great. And the timing is a big one contemporary, I would imagine. And the timing was on, he just, he was flowy. He looked great.
Starting point is 00:11:06 So I'm sitting there going, wow, one of the best dances I think I've seen this season. Granted, it was contemporary, but I thought that was an absolutely phenomenal job. He must be getting a massive score. And here enters my issue with the judges because we go 9-99 and an 8. Yeah, the 8 didn't make any sense because Bruton was the 8, right? No, Carrie Ann was the 8. Oh, fuck Carrie Ann. Which makes even...
Starting point is 00:11:34 I'm tired of her shit. That's my point because later on, we're going to jump a little bit. We're not going to review the dance. We're going to jump a little bit. Whitney, she dances. Mm-hmm. Very clearly some timing issues here. Okay, I saw it.
Starting point is 00:11:49 The judges certainly saw it. You saw it at home. Yep. She gives her, after saying to her, your timing was off, she gets a nine. That doesn't make any fucking sense. So the one question I do have, will these scores carry over week to week? Like, will the dedication night scores actually impact next week? Oh, I don't know if the scores carry over.
Starting point is 00:12:13 Or the whole thing. I don't think they carry over. I think it's a week to week. I just a different perspective I'm happy that she did that because we can call it out and say it's bullshit it is bullshit all her out and then it actually doesn't have any ramifications
Starting point is 00:12:30 so on a night where it didn't really matter and the scores are just whatever who cares you know some people have really good dances it's nice to see people taking steps forward if the score doesn't matter we can get mad about nothing which is one of my favorite things to do well it's not nothing
Starting point is 00:12:46 because this carries over, because she's allowed to continue to judge this. That's the best kind of nothing, by the way, is when you convince yourself that it's something. You're doing a great job right now. It is something because the whole, I've had an issue with the judging from episode one of this season because it just logically doesn't track for me. This is like the perfect way to describe that. We're going to get our first 10 next week, by the way. You already know that, right?
Starting point is 00:13:09 They gradually just kind of decrease a little bit. I don't know for there yet. Only one 10 is going to get. I'll take that prop bet. Okay. Five bucks? Are we allowed to say monetary-wise? Yeah, sure.
Starting point is 00:13:20 I don't think that matters. We're not like, we don't play sports. We're not going to get banned from the NFL. We get banned from Bravo podcasting. Yeah, for gambling, gambling on Bravo whilst covering Bravo is a big no-no. Big page CISC article. Yeah, but to my point, it doesn't make any damn sense. I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:13:41 I think he clearly deserved a nine. Carrie on was sobbing, had nothing bad to say about, his dance but then there doesn't make any damn sense whatsoever what i like about kim and why kim needs to be a permanent judge she's honest but she does it in a nice way and her tips make sense when she's like trying like the ruler behind the head thing it keeps in posture i was like that makes sense i like it i was getting annoyed by the time i don't care it was every dance i know because that's constructive she kept doing the ruler thing too the ruler thing was good Your hand is out here.
Starting point is 00:14:17 It's just cupped a little bit. Think about a ruler on the inside of your forearm. Why make it more difficult? Why do you have to make it more difficult? If a ruler works, use a ruler. I was getting annoyed by the team. You would be a nightmare to coach through this. You would be the worst.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Who the fuck has a ruler? Who uses a ruler? What am I? It doesn't fucking matter. She didn't say actually use a ruler picture or ruler, dickhead. This is why you'll never make it on dancing with the stars. You and Sheena are just never going to be on the show. But anyway, Robert gets a 35, beautiful dance with his mother.
Starting point is 00:14:49 It was awesome to see the reaction of everybody. Just the Irwin family in general, Bindy comes out onto the floor, gives everybody a big hug. Everyone's crying. It was just really sweet. And it goes back to Derek Huff, who danced with Bindy years ago. So they've all been involved with this show for a while. So it was, I don't know, it was a very deep moment. I cried.
Starting point is 00:15:09 I cried like a little baby, and I'm not ashamed of it. Let's keep moving. to Check out the big stars, big series, and blockbuster movies. Streaming on Paramount Plus. Cue the music. Like NCIS, Tony and Ziva. We'd like to make up your own rules.

We're all out of the ordinary. Elaine Hendricks and Alan Burstyn,
Starting point is 00:17:31 when they dance the Fox Trott with Lisa and Walter. This will be an everlasting love by Natalie Cole. I did not know. that Lisa and Walter was in the parentry. I know her now from Abbott Elementary. Yeah, I did not put two and two together. The cast of Abbott Elementary has been at every show this year. It's very funny.
Starting point is 00:17:54 It's awesome. I just thought it was an ABC Hulu thing. So I just figured, oh, yeah, whatever, of course they're going to be there. And then when she came out on stage or rather when they announced who she was dancing with, I'm like, oh, okay, now it kind of makes a little bit of sense. But, I mean, it was great. all of these dances are very good i thought that elaine was kind of in the last couple of weeks a little stagnant i didn't think she really took too many steps well no no no last week we agreed
Starting point is 00:18:19 she did good the song choice was what threw us off that was the space mountain was that the disney space mountain yeah yeah sucked yeah and that wasn't her fault that's that's allan's fault i imagine i'm gonna blame but that but the judge panel loved space mountain dance you and i just didn't like the song choice true you know what but like that is an everlasting image in my head is hating that song uh they danced everlasting love it could be in there i don't know it might be intended um yeah i think the song was so bad that i imagine that she got a bad score but now yeah no she did good a good score on that one um i would say this week was a lateral move okay all right see i i see it as a step forward but again dumb brain space mountain
Starting point is 00:19:06 boo lateral move okay i'll agree with you how about that yeah and the judges gave her a 30 i thought that lisa and walter was great i don't she must have some dance background in there interacting i it's funny too because i knew who she was and then when you just like or when they talked about the parent trap it's like oh yeah she was in the parent trap yeah she was a lot of other things too was it the parent trap or was it it takes two when one of the olson twins lives at the orphanage. Oh, God. Because that's the one I'm thinking of.
Starting point is 00:19:39 No, she was definitely in the parent trap. I don't think she was in, it takes to. No, it was, oh, my God, it was, um, shit. You know her. Oh, my God. This is, she was like a huge dame back in the day. She passed away in the past like five years or so. Oh, but yeah, there.
Starting point is 00:19:58 I can't believe I forgot that. Kirstie Alley. Oh, yeah. Okay. the foster mom or whatever, the orphanage mom. And it takes two. And that was with, who was the guy in that? Steve Gutenberg.
Starting point is 00:20:11 That was a goot movie. That was the go. Not the go. There we go. This is a phenomenal. Cousin. Yeah. You like that, everybody?
Starting point is 00:20:23 Okay. There we go. That was fun. I'm glad we got to track that down. It makes me feel better, yeah. Yeah, here's the alley. Because there is a rabbit hole that we could easily go down. Honestly.
Starting point is 00:20:33 It was sparked by Elaine being on this show talking about the parent trap. There are so many movies from back then where there's random people that are probably still in sitcoms, random shows that we watch now that I don't remember. Like, I guarantee you if you pull up the cast from like blank check or something, there's probably like six or seven different people in that movie. Tone lock was in that. That's fantastic. Hell yeah. Who else is in there? Anybody?
Starting point is 00:21:02 Anybody? no no bad example i was really pulling for you wow i was really hoping there was going to be somebody random in there too i mean tone lock is pretty random tone lock is fantastic i'll take that one that's that's not bad yeah oh man the kid from blank check has a huge neck tat yes he certainly does he's in a rock band now how about that the atari's great name it's a great name oh the guy from robocop was in it too okay see there's some points We need to get out of here. We need to.
Starting point is 00:21:35 Yeah, this is a different podcast. This is what we do in our free time. Anywho, let's get back on track here. They danced, like I said, this will be a everlasting love. We got a 38778. So Carrie-in gives her an eight. Here's my, here we go again. You can't watch this dance and tell me that this was as good as Robert Irwin because it simply was not.
Starting point is 00:21:57 Carrie. So what are we doing? You are losing any and all credibility in your judge. And it gets worse later. And I will continue to call it out every dance that we get to because the next dance that we get to just so happens to be Whitney Leavitt with Mark Ballas. And they're dancing contemporary to heal by Jamal Roberts with Connor. By the way. Connor was so excited to do this.
Starting point is 00:22:23 He was so excited. What a bounce back from his first season with Secret Lives. I'm rooting for the guy. I'm not. No. I don't like Conner. I mean, I don't like the other dickhead, Jen's husband. Oh, uh, Zach Targaryen.
Starting point is 00:22:41 He was, yeah, Connor's fine and he was very happy to do this, which, you know, when I was just, it was just funny to hear the reasons behind the song because on one hand, Whitney's like, you know, he's my best friend. I do believe that. I do believe that they are best friends. And they do love each other to some capacity. I think it's a different love, but I do think they love each other. she goes the best friend route right it's a big moment he goes with we've been through a lot
Starting point is 00:23:10 put her through a lot you know i'm just so happy we can we can get to this place again which if you don't follow slomwa secret lives of mormon wives allegedly Connor i said in the beginning this episode there's no drama but here you go some drama Connor was on a dating app while they were in california i believe or was it Hawaii Hawaii. There in Hawaii and he was allegedly on the dating app. A very specific dating app. And I'll leave it there.
Starting point is 00:23:41 Yeah, but there's like more, he's opening up more and apparently there's some things from his past. So I'm leaving all of it alone. I'm leaving it alone. He was happy to be out there. And that's all I'm asking for right now. It's not being happy. That seems real happy. No, he's definitely really happy. And I thought it was good. It was fine. It wasn't her best
Starting point is 00:24:01 by any means. she's still like just a stellar dancer like even though trained in ballroom dancing she's incredible yeah like she's a phenomenal dancer it's just the dance was not as good as her prior dances and there was timing issues which we have not seen yet this was the first slip up that we've had out of Whitney this was still better than most temporary too yeah that's why I'm like I do think you can see like I feel like timing issues in like a fox trot or a tango you're gonna see that shit right away and be like whoa whoa what are we doing here contemporary i feel like you can cover it up a little bit better you have a little more wiggle room yeah it's way more freeform
Starting point is 00:24:39 and that's why i said like it only works tonight because you know and this that's the other thing well i'm on it okay you can't tell me that they didn't all know that no one was going home at least the professionals knew that no one was going home this week otherwise they wouldn't do this many contemporaries you know what i mean like i don't really see that they would be able to do this I would imagine. I don't know. I think it's going to depend more. Are we going to get more contemporaries as we move forward?
Starting point is 00:25:03 I feel like it's all that. I feel like contemporary is good for one of two things. One, dedication night, you know, there's no stake in the game, really, and you can really express yourself to the song. Two, you've been in the bottom and need to throw a Hail Mary. And we've got to go out there and do some wacky shit. And if you pull it off, we're going to win. If you don't, we're out.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Yeah, maybe Andy will do a contemporary next week since he didn't do one this week. I would love to see an Andy Richter contemporary. I think it would be phenomenal TV. I don't know how good it would be, but it would be very fun to watch and do that. Correct. But she ends up with a 33, 8889. This nine haunts me.
Starting point is 00:25:46 This makes no fucking sense. Absolutely no sense at all. Because you had nothing, I already said this, but you had nothing to say about Robert. You got an eight. That's the people talking. I'm certainly talking and Twitter was talking. Everybody wants her replaced with Kim Johnson.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Yeah. Because of her performance. That I don't think to carry in actually saw it coming. I think she's trying to do because last week she gave somebody a shit score or said something, some sort of tip or pointed out of flaw. And people booed her and she's like, you can boo me. It's okay. I'm all right.
Starting point is 00:26:20 You can boo me however much you want. I think she wants to lean that way, but I don't think she can do it. I don't think she has the personality to do it. I don't know. She's getting a lot of shit on, on Twitter. People are not happy with the judging, myself included. And I also have a qualm with dancing with the stars as a whole because we cannot keep putting Jen Affleck after Whitney. It's not fair to Jen Affle.
Starting point is 00:26:44 It's not fair. She's getting compared to her. And I think Jen's doing better. I think she's getting better each week. And her and Yan dance the V&E's Walt to rescue by Lauren Daigle. Daigle. I think so? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:26:58 But she did it with Maria, her mom, who was involved with a lot of the dance. I thought the mom did a good job as well. It was another touching scene. But I do think that she gets graded on a different scale because it's almost subconsciously comparing her to her castmate in Whitney. Yeah, I agree with that. I feel like she's been in a lot of tough spots from what I remember. They had her do the last dance of the night, I think for Disney night. They had her do this and it's right after Whitney.
Starting point is 00:27:25 I think they need to like separate her like don't make her first there's a lot of people in this group that have been going in the middle of the pack like a Scott Hoying he's just kind of been like floating by the middle of the pack he's been doing pretty well but it's not you know right after a stellar dance ever and I feel like Jen kind of gets the short end of the stick for that one but she did well again she's she's in a different tier than everybody else I you know I think like Dylan Robert Whitney they're all kind of at the top right now she's more in that middle tier but you would have a hard time finding somebody to agree with that just based off of her position in the dance her position in the shell it's always right after somebody did really well and it's always like
Starting point is 00:28:04 some sort of a footnote and i think that she's actually been making progress the whole time i think she's been doing really well and the scores somewhat reflect that but they don't really i don't know maybe i'm wrong but i do think she's been getting better i know she definitely she's climbing up towards that top group i think that if she sticks around long enough she'll have a shot to potentially join that top tier yeah i i do think she's good enough and i think that you know acknowledging also that she just had a baby is is fucking insane that she is is this good at dancing and yeah everything that she's doing out there so like all the props to her i just think she gets shafted because of whitney i like i wouldn't have even put them on the same season but i they probably
Starting point is 00:28:46 didn't know that whitney was going to be this much of a bombshell on the dance for but here we go again she gets 29 7778 how are we how is this innate carrie ann if robert irwin was innate it makes no fucking sense it makes absolutely no sense and it your credibility's gone it's there's non-existent after this yeah i'm on the other end of the spectrum where i know that these scores mean absolutely nothing but they mean 50% of the i mean i know they don't nobody went home so i didn't matter I agree with you.
Starting point is 00:29:23 I do think the consistency should be good here. Thank you. I think it's okay if we saw elevated scores, but if you keep going back and looking at Roberts and you didn't give them a nine for that, then how are you going to give other people AIDS? That's what I'm going to question. We got to put the point system in or something,
Starting point is 00:29:39 like 8.1. Yep. You know, give me something more. It's unvaluted. I agree. I, it makes no sense. It makes absolutely no sense. But it's just, I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:29:50 It stinks. Stinks the high. heaven so let's keep trucking we get to our our guy dylan who is just turning into an exceptional dancer i mean i figured he had it in him you know he's got he's got the jeans for it we know that zach is obviously a phenomenal dancer and you saw glimpses like we would see the throughout the past few weeks it's like a moment of brilliance and then an awkward move and the moment of brilliance and an awkward move the awkward has been getting few and far between and then this dance which was to his brother's song,
Starting point is 00:30:24 rewrite the stars, great idea, even had the trapeze in the background, great idea with Olivia, his four-year-old or five-year-old sister. And it was phenomenal. That lift he did at the end. That lift he did at the end made it move.
Starting point is 00:30:40 It's all I'm going to say. No notes. No notes on this one. This one was by far and away earns the highest score of the year. Four nights. The year four nines across the board. everybody loved it nobody had any notes there was nothing here this may have actually been when uh when kim gave the uh the ruler on the the wrist i think maybe he cupped his hand a little bit here
Starting point is 00:31:02 that was probably this dance but you have to say something you can't just be like wow that was perfect and not give him the 10 you have to have something so why not yeah it was it was so good he's he's turning into a great dancer and he has entered this was like his full step into that top tier because he's been close this was like uh this is his i've arrived party yeah hello everybody dylan effron's here to stay but the other part of that is now we hold them to a different standard dictations are higher mm-hmm better answer the bell bud let's get to another one that is i think one of the best and i think that the difference is she is definitely going to continue to get better whereas some other people are going to plateau
Starting point is 00:31:44 but jordan childs with ezra i also love this duo i think they're perfect i think that they Yeah, they really are really well. They danced to daughters by John Mayer with Timothy Childs, Jordan's father. Watching this man choke back tears for the whole time was just moving. Like even when they're standing there at the end and he's just like trying to be to keep it together. You're going to be cool. Yeah, you can shed a tear. It's okay, man.
Starting point is 00:32:08 It was a very touching dance. It was a really good dance. It was a really good dance. And this was definitely our pick for watch out and see how much she improves over the year. Because she was a little clumsy in the first. week but she obviously had the athleticism and the more that she focuses on it it's there's nothing that she can't accomplish as far as like on the dance floor like there's nothing that she can do here that she would be able to do any different and look worse she just looks so graceful
Starting point is 00:32:35 when she's doing stuff in a very Olympic way yeah and I feel like once she was able to translate what she does on you know a gym floor to this what are you going to do I mean it's almost like you're watching somebody just learn how to do it that's just so much more gifted than you the other people are probably watching her like fuck like we've gotten to a point where i don't know if i can do any better like yeah i might have a great night but i can't achieve what she's achieving out there and if she keeps getting better she's going to crush it yeah like she if you gave her enough time she could be a professional dancer like that's the low vials was in it last year right yeah she was phenomenal yeah she was she was outstanding that's that's what you get with these
Starting point is 00:33:15 gymnasts because one they're tenacious two they're phenomenal athletes some of the best athletes on the planet like all around athleticism when it comes to gymnastics there you go you know the second one is that I always say I don't think they get enough credit what hockey players I think those guys are freak athletes and people
Starting point is 00:33:35 don't give them enough credit huh yeah about that but back to Jordan great job I think the ceiling is non-existent for her I think that everyone else's nightmare is the fact that she gets to continue to practice this week to week because she's only going to get better.
Starting point is 00:33:53 I thought Timothy did a great job when he was involved. It was very touching to hear the story, you know, just being so proud of his daughter. Just a cool scene. There was a very touchy one. Yes, I cried. Of course I cried. What do you want me to do? I cry with Dylan, too, because it was like his little sister and I've got three much younger sisters as well.
Starting point is 00:34:10 So that I'm like, oh, and they're all growing up. They're 25, 21 and 18 now. It's so sad. This is what I do when I watch the show. I relate. Let's get back on track here. No. Talk about my feelings. Anyway, he gets eights, eights across the board.
Starting point is 00:34:29 She deserved one nine in there. I agree. Who the fuck cares? Burn it down. There's no, the scores don't matter. No rhyme or reason. It doesn't make any damn sense because. 20th Century Studios presents Springsteen. One thousand champs like us. Maybe we were born. Witness a true story of risking it all.
Starting point is 00:34:50 New songs. They're the only thing making sense to me right now. To fight for what you believe in. This is not any good for Bruce. I don't need to be perfect. I just know it to feel right. Springsteen, now playing only in theaters. At the Nissan All In Clear Out, there's nothing more chill than financing an award-winning Nissan for just zero percent. Starting point is 00:35:42 And on the Vulgar History podcast, it's also Mary Shelley's season. Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein, the book, when she was a teen mom on the first. run with her boyfriend, her sister. Lord Byron was also there for some reason. And this month on Vulgar History, we're taking a deep dive into her life and world to figure out was Mary Shelley the ultimate got got icon? Listen to Volker History wherever you get podcasts. And I'm going to keep doing it because you get the Scott Hoying who I've gotten much more invested in Scott. I will give him that. Like I do care a lot more. He was kind of that like whatever cast member for a little while.
Starting point is 00:36:21 He danced to his own song. A little cheating. I like the move because you know that song got downloaded a shitload of times. It's a power move for sure. But he already knows the rhythm. He knows the steps. He understands what he does. But he did a good job and he's dancing with Riley to parallel by Scott Hoeing.
Starting point is 00:36:40 And it's in honor of Mark, his husband and their story about how they got together and they were talking for hours on the kitchen floor, which is how they end the dance is them. kind of head-dead talking on the kitchen floor. Mark must be a terrible dancer because he wasn't in it at all. I know. He was in the beginning. He took the mic and then he laid down.
Starting point is 00:36:59 Yeah, exactly. Yeah, so he must not have a lot of rhythm. I think Scott did do well. He's another one who's been improving. I don't think he's ever going to get to that top tier. I just don't know if he's got that level of athleticism in him. He can hang around. He's definitely going to hang around.
Starting point is 00:37:16 He's definitely improved. and I like get technical real quick let me put on my technical hat you got a ruler on your neck I wish I had a ruler honestly given all the ruler talk that we've I love how you're looking for a ruler I might have one poppy puts random shit
Starting point is 00:37:31 in random places like it would not be that crazy if there was a ruler like purple like glittery ruler but still yeah yeah but it's still a ruler remember there's slap rollers oh yeah she had those too I played with I broke one of them by accident because I kept slap it on my wrist
Starting point is 00:37:45 what were we talking about Oh, Scott. What about Scott? Oh, technical. That's right. He was definitely, you know, he was the leading man in this one, which I appreciated.
Starting point is 00:37:59 Like he was moving around that dance floor. He seemed more confident. I think the biggest thing that we've seen in Scott week to week is that confidence level. Just getting higher and higher, which is cool because you're seeing him get more comfortable out there. And I think that this was probably his, I think last week was like the most fun dance.
Starting point is 00:38:16 I think last week was his best, too. This one was more of the same, but in a good way. Yeah, that's fine. That makes sense. You didn't regress at all, but it was, you know, he kind of got to a point now where it's like, okay, we kind of expect you to do pretty well. Yeah, and I'm curious, I think next week for a lot of these contestants is like, make it or break at week for them.
Starting point is 00:38:38 I would be surprised that they sent two people home next week. I think they might. Oh, they have to because they didn't send someone home this week. So that just gears it up for that. Yeah, I think next week is the big, like, let's see who's really got it week. But we got two left. This one, we just talked about this, about that last scene from Boy Meets World, the class is dismissed scene. And you get up Daniel and Pasha dancing to Jive to Boy Meets World.
Starting point is 00:39:04 And who is their third? Mr. Feeney himself. William Daniels, didn't know his real name. Now I do, but he's forever always. Dr. Feeney? Did you ever, Mr. Feeney? I think he's just Mr. Feeney. I don't think he's got his doctorate.
Starting point is 00:39:23 I'm okay with you elevating him, but yeah, I don't think he ever got a doctorate. That was a spinoff of Mr. Feeney getting his doctorate. That would be great. But this was a good dance. I agreed with the judges where, you know, this is the one thing I will agree with Carrie Ann, and she had to bite the bullet on this one. I do feel like we're getting a lot of the same. And she's got a bumhand.
Starting point is 00:39:46 hammy. Yep. But I feel like we're getting like each week. It's like, okay, this is what you did last week. Yeah. Yeah. She's definitely at the point now where we haven't seen improvement. And again, we're giving her the past with the hammy.
Starting point is 00:39:59 Yep. But there's nothing to be said week to week. It's all pretty much what she's been doing the whole time that she's been on the show. And it doesn't get a lot of attention because there are people on this show that are also doing the same thing, but a little bit worse. Yeah. So once that dust settles, there's not going to be a whole lot more to be said about her. It's nice. And obviously, I'm happy that we got to the point where we get a dedication night about Boy Meets World because we get to see Mr. Feeney and it's a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:40:27 But after this, it's sort of like a, you're not going to win. You're not really going to compete unless something drastic happens, which I don't see happening. So that's kind of where we live right now. She's got the rhythm to do it. I just, I'm curious about what next week is going to look like. I think that with Pasha as her partner, he's a good course. Again, it's a make or break week. We're going to really see you're going to have to put it all out there.
Starting point is 00:40:50 Maybe a contemporary contemporary, contemporary Hail Mary. I don't know. That could work. That actually might work for Danielle. I think that could work. She ended up with 297778, which was the, I think it was the second lowest score of the night. Yeah, 24 was the lowest. Yeah, 24.
Starting point is 00:41:09 Oh, she tied with Jen. Oh, she tied with Jen? Yeah. Yeah, but Jen didn't deserve a 29. 10's 29 looks better than Danielle's 29, in my opinion, based on nothing. So, yeah, it's going to be a make-or-break-it-week for her next week. I agree. I agree. I think that's going to be the story for a lot of our contestants. And the last dance of the night, I would say my top three were Robert, Alex, and I actually
Starting point is 00:41:35 think Jordan was better than Whitney this week. But Alex Earl, well, oh, Dylan is who I left out. Thank you. That's who I was thinking of. Alex dance with Val, and they do contemporary to Sparks by Coldplay, and it's about her younger half-sister, and she tells a story about, you know, the blended family, that whole thing. I thought her sister was great. She did a great job out there, and I thought this dance was great. I think that she, she is at Whitney's level, which is hard to say, you know, like she actually
Starting point is 00:42:09 looks like she has done this for a while. She's obvious, I think the difference between her and Whitney's. Whitney has been great every, every week. We've watched Alex improve to be great. Alex has caught up to Whitney. And Whitney's gotten a little bit better each week, but it's more just her getting more comfortable with what she already knows. And I think it's a lot more impressive that Alex has gotten to this point so fast that she's
Starting point is 00:42:35 already in that top tier. She's already expected to do that. And it's kind of a perfect storm for her because she's always going to get the fan vote. So she's getting a good vote from the. judges and the fan vote how are you supposed to stop that i imagine and obviously they're not releasing this stuff but i imagine she's taking a huge market share of the fan vote like a massive market share so that's all she needs she could be the worst answer she could be worse than and she's still going to get through week to week because of the way that they have it set up
Starting point is 00:43:02 if she's getting the same scores as whitney whitney's going to go bye-bye it's going to be Alex and dillon probably and robert as maybe the final three if i had to guess that right now that's probably my final three but final three would be dillard Whitney and Alex. Yeah. That's my final three. Most Jordan Childs just keep fucking ascending. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Like that's, it's a tough time. It's going to be an interesting end of the season because of how well everybody's doing. And obviously, Alex gets three nines and an eight, which you upset about this? I don't know where the eight came from. But that the scale just gets fucking weird. Like, it just doesn't make any sense to me. There's no consistency.
Starting point is 00:43:39 This was, this was by far the most inconsistent judging score, uh, night of, of the season. I've never seen more inconsistencies. I usually it's so easy to figure out what they're going to do. And a lot of these dances are kind of the same. Like you expect like Andy's going to get sixes across the board. They're not going to give them a five. They're not going to go any lower than that. There's no need to do that. But everybody else, it was kind of easyish to figure out what was going to happen. And a lot of these dances, it was like, well, that deserves all nines. That deserves all nines. It's almost like they get together and they're like, well, let's look at Dylan. Dylan was great. We gave him all minds one of you guys has to bite the bullet and give them an eight like that's pretty much
Starting point is 00:44:18 what we get to and again these scores don't really matter right now but it is frustrating to try to figure out i i need to know what's going to happen before it happens with this and i was good at it and then this night just kind of fucked me up yeah threw me for a loop now the one thing that came out of this did you see alex cooper are you following that at all yeah yeah so a little uh little more drama for you guys out there. I don't wrap this up. But Alex Earle signed to Alex Cooper's podcast label
Starting point is 00:44:50 earlier this year. They did everything together. I guess they're paling around. They had some quiet falling out. Like it wasn't plastered everywhere. And Alex Earl left her network. And I guess one of Alex
Starting point is 00:45:04 Earl's big things, I don't know a lot about her, but I've learned about her. Dev's told me a lot. I guess like she's so down to earth for somebody with as big of a following as she has. like she doesn't really concern herself with the drama. She doesn't talk shit.
Starting point is 00:45:16 She didn't do any of that. So somebody commented, like, what happened to you know Alex Cooper? And I guess she responded to one person and said, how much time do you have? Yeah. That was her reply. So Alex Cooper had this event with a bunch of big names and she made this video for it. And Alex danced to circus. Alex Earl danced to circus earlier in the season.
Starting point is 00:45:39 It's Alex Cooper dancing to circus. and she says how much time do you have? Yeah. It was a direct shot at Alex Earle. She got smoked. Yeah. Everybody in the comments was just like, how embarrassing is this?
Starting point is 00:45:56 You look, this is such a bad look for you. Just a little interesting tidbit. Engagement. She's still probably doing well with that. She's doing just. Comment hate, you're doing great. She signed like a hundred million dollar deal with Spotify.
Starting point is 00:46:08 Like she's not stressing about it. It was just an interesting, interesting move to take a shot there. We signed. It's just tough to watch, you know. I thought we had the record with our podcast deal. No. And Alex comes out with 100 mil.
Starting point is 00:46:22 It's like, damn. Yeah, we were right there. Just got us. And those damn Kelsey brothers. Yeah, maybe someday. But yeah, I mean, it's just a good show. It's just a fun show to watch. It's a fun show to share with your family, you know.
