As you guys know, I'm doing my best to curb my bias as we watch this season of the OC. I'm really trying to do my absolute best. I will say this. If you start an episode off with Gina and Emily, you're going to make it very difficult for me to give a shit. Yeah, what happened to the old English class 10th grade explaining what a hook is. You got to really pull your reader in or in this case your watcher and make sure that they actually care what's going on. It's almost like they do the opposite with this show. But I'm still living in the land of, I think it's just boring.

There's, you know, it is what it is. It's just boring. But some things are ticking me off. There's no way that I can have like an ironclad armor set for this whole show. Things are going to sneak through. As there's a drive in a deep left field by Castellanos. Oh man, it's 8 o'clock. And so that'll make it a.

Everybody understands that one. Why do they think like, I'm not even talking about producers. Why do the cast people think that some of the situations they get themselves in and talk about at length is interesting?

It's just, it's not. It's just not. And it's fine. I look, OC has been awful. It's been a train wreck. It's been terrible. it's been contrived. It's been a lot of things.

Boring, I'm okay with. If I just kind of turn my brain off for a little while, 42 minutes, to be specific, fine. I'm okay with that. I still have to recap it, but not a lot happens. And I'm okay with these episodes. The TikTok thing, I, God damn it. Like with Tamara and Heather, I'm like, really, dude, I can't.

And then we're going to sit with Gina and Emily and Shannon for 10 minutes to open the episode off, doing these wacky hijinks about TikTok. this that's my job right between the podcast and my cooking thing i'm a full-time i don't like the word influence or contact creator whatever i you guys don't want to hear about this shit you don't want me to talk about i don't want to watch them talk about it's not interesting you want to scroll and see people doing things i don't need to see jina and emily explained to shannon the importance of a social media presence and then jina being like oh we're just so wacky. I got us a hoodie with two heads on it. I don't want to see that. I don't want to

see you guys blowing out birthday candles with stockings on your head. I don't want to see you talking to Shannon about why she needs to up her social media game. I agree. Shannon, you're leaving money on the table. Let's focus on that part, the financial aspect. Let's get into specifics. Not, not this, not this where it's Gina giving stupid gifts like, oh, I got you, The candle smells like your 40s are over and check out this hoodie. Oh, we're so wacky. Me and you, Emily, we're just so wacky. Let's go.

Let's do a TikTok. No. I think the word hijinks was actually used in this scene very seriously. Like, it was not ironic. It was not goofy. It was very serious. And I don't think I've heard that one before. But yeah, I think we're encroaching into very, very bad territory with Gina.

She's finally financially comfortable enough where she's starting. think that she's rich she's starting to think she's important the thing that i think gina had going for her at one point is something we talk about in other shows is that she was relatable in certain regards it's like okay yeah i mean OC's one of those shows where you do have a lot of rich people we don't really question it we just let them go around and throw their money around and then we go have a scene with gita it's like okay that's a nice little reprieve and we talk about something real something different she's now in this weird territory where she thinks she's powerful and i can't stand it and we know what they're doing I mean, we're going to break it down this episode alone.

We talked about it last week. The playbook is, newbie comes in. I can't go after anybody else in this group because I will get my head bitten off. Let me go after the newbie. And I'm going to come about it from the strangest angle possible for a woman in their 40s. Like, hey, that's my best friends. I'm just making sure she's okay. What?

What are we doing? Like, why are we doing any of this? Emily is also not innocent. I know she changed her tune this week talking about how she actually liked the gift. I thought it was a nice gift. You started off saying that it was wrong. Heather said it was okay Shane said it was okay until he saw the vibrator

Terry said it was fine He got the joke whatever You've now changed your tune But I know what you're doing You know that Gene is now going to go after Carmela So you're like oh let me play nice to Carmela And get close to her So I'm still part of the storyline

Gina and Emily are the lowest people on the total poll And Carmela's already ahead of them Just get rid of them Like I can't deal with them anymore It's so annoying All of their storylines that they force every year and that you can see at the moment a light bulb goes off. It's like, wow, let's talk about this.

This will be good. This will get me another season. They're literally going season to season, and there's no rhyme or reason as to why they're still there. I don't understand it either, and you're 100% correct. And this whole thing, this go after the newbie because I can't go after anybody else. I can't believe that we watch it season after season after season, right? The Katie Janella of it all.

Like, that was the blueprint. For what we're seeing with Carmela, are you kidding me that you feel like your best friend is being infringed upon via Dior clutch? So you have to try and make this a storyline. And then between the TikTok and you trying to use cool kid words, I didn't know she had bankroll like that. You don't say that. That's the first time you've ever said bankroll in your entire life. And why are we talking about this?

And Shannon Bador of all people is the one that calls out. Sounds like she's jealous. Yeah, it does. Yeah, but that's exactly what it is. fucking crazy that we are going to make a storyline out of a Dior clutch on a show that is a franchise based on rich wealthy women. That's something rich wealthy women do. Here's a $3,000 purse for somebody I just met.

That should be a non-factor. Do you know how many gifts we've seen lavish gifts from newbies? OGs, whatever? Like having just met somebody, here's a gift bag. Oh, wow. It's like a fucking burkin. party or whatever it is. It's just we cannot be frowning or turning our nose up at luxurious gifts, Gina. That's crazy work because that's what this shows is based on. You're in Orange

County. You're supposed to be the wealthiest. You guys are supposed to have so much money that you give a stranger a $3,000 clutch. It makes sense. Gina, you don't make sense. And yeah, she's got the bankroll for it. And by the way, listening to her talk about it later, I believe Carmela. I think she seems yeah yeah she seems legit I'm sure she did get something in like some sort of settlement from jeff garcia but jeff carcia wasn't like he made money but he wasn't making that much money he's not making like that home i don't know dude those those uh how long was he was he a keyboard or sorry a clipboard what was it before jesus yeah yeah he was a clipboard jesus but he was a backup for the majority of his career but still make decent money jeff garcia

career earnings i'm going to say say $30 million. 36, yeah. But 36 over the life of his career, now we're what, like 15 years removed from him retiring. So either way, I assume she got some sort of settlement. It was enough seed money for her to get her shit started.

She explains all of that, and I agree with you. It all sounds very genuine. I do think it's also funny again, like you said, with Shannon getting involved, and then we're FaceTiming Tamara in the beginning. This was kind of funny just because it's so out of touch,

and it doesn't make any sense. Vicky can't go back to Porta Vyerta because she's got all of the things that were going on at the time where there was governments being overthrown and the cartel members in the streets and all this shit and Tamara's thought is let's have a taco party to make her feel like she's unbelievable that was funny

I thought that was really funny I did too but everybody looking around there just like yeah that makes total sense like why is no one laughing at this like why is no one I don't think I think Tamara's doing it like realistic I think she's trying to be authentic. She doesn't realize it's funny. Like we're sitting at home.

That has to be funny. But the other part of that and going back to Carmela is, why is no one just sitting here like, all right, she got Emily a $3,000 clutch. How's she going to treat my birthday? Like start making jokes about that. Start holding her accountable.

Like if she gives you something else for your birthday that doesn't match up to that, have beef with that. That's totally fine because she opened herself up to that. Instead, we're just jumping on her right away and you haven't even had a conversation. It's just,

it's so quick. They don't let things settle. They just have this in their mind. They're like, I need to get this out of the way first. I need to start off the season with a bang. I need to let this coast for about five or six episodes. And then I can just go back to doing what I normally do, which is nothing. It's just, it's the same script every year with these two.

I know I'm lumping Emily in there. She hasn't done anything yet, but I can already see the wheels turning and I know what she's going to do. Gina does the same thing every year now. And it's just getting so tired. I agree. I also agree, though, about the port ofayarte, the thing. A cartel is attempting to overthrow the government. They are invading the streets

of Puerto Vallata and we're concerned about Vicki Gunvelson. Yeah. Who is not there? I thought she was there at first. I was like, oh, shit, that sucks. She's held up in her room. She can't go anywhere. No, she's in O.C. And we're like, hey, we got to make her feel. God, do you think Vicki's okay? Because her transplant city is under attack by the cartel. Let's not talk about the ramifications of the actual people that live in court. Let's worry about Vicki. I mean, we don't, we don't and we shouldn't in housewives go into socioeconomic. Yeah.

Ever because I don't need to hear what they have to say about it unless it's funny and they're so off touch that are out of touch that it makes sense. But yeah, Vicky also this can be funny because I do think that she's really going to like cry about what's going on down there, even though she's lived there for like four or five years. It's just that shit is always going to be funny to me. But no one calling this out. no one calling out the Carmela Gifts thing. It's just I can't deal with it.

That's going to get worse. I told you, too. I told you episode one. You're like, I don't know if that's going to be a thing. That's definitely going to be a fucking thing. Absolutely going to be a thing. It's going to span the entire season. I'm so dreading it.

But we move on to Tamara and her friend Fernanda, who I'm assuming is going to work into a friend of role based on the intro we got there. The intro, yeah. Yeah, but you got Heather and Jen joining. And, you know, we're recap and what's been going on. Jen talks better sit down with Grayson and that she feels like a failure because of what's going on. She didn't know. And they all have their mom moment, which was nice to see.

But this, oh my God, this pissed me off so much. I was so like, what are we doing? Now, Tamara goes after Heather because Heather doesn't do TikToks with her. Granted, Tamara has been interviewed on this show talking about how she doesn't give a shit about TikTok. But now she gives a shit because Heather doesn't do TikToks with her. And she's like, you know, it sounds so stupid and petty. But now that I'm compartmentalized and in a box, it just feels like you want to be friends, but you don't want people to know about it.

Guys, no. We're in our 50s talking about the fact that we're not in each other's TikToks. No, no, no. And if we're going to do this, don't do this on camera. I don't give a shit. I really don't care. I mean, you know what's happening right now. This is just Tamara branching out.

That's all she's doing. She has one little iota of an idea of what Heather said to Jen that then Jen spilled the beans. She's trying to get some sort of crazy reaction out of Heather. So she's going about it in every different angle. Now she's just throwing everything out there. She's throwing the kitchen sink at her. Maybe if I talk about TikToks and not being involved, though I don't want to be involved, that'll get under her skin.

It's not really working because Heather's already in defense mode. She's in deflection mode. It's not going to get under her skin because she can pass the buck very easily, as we see later in the episode. And it won't matter. It never lingers. It never hangs around. Then when Heather gets back into a good position again where no one's really talking about

it, she'll then turn and go after somebody else, like a Jen or Carmela at some point in the season I'm imagining. That's what's going to happen. Again, it's copy and paste every season. We can always see it coming from a mile away. It's just tough when we get stuck in that rut. And again, like, nothing going on right now is really pissing me off. It's just that they're just casting things out there right now that I'm like,

I know where this is going to go. And eventually I'm going to get really tired of it. But right now, it's just not enough to really aggravate me. It's just, again, not a lot going on, not enough substance here. That's fair. I think I get quicker to frustration because, like you said, we know exactly where it's heading. And the first call that we had at this stupid clutch.

was going to become a storyline. We were right. And seeing the copy and paste over and over again, this scene in particular. We did Heather and Tamara two years ago. That was the thing, right? And here we are sitting there. And Jen is inserting herself,

which I'm fine with where she's like, you know, I'm just confused by your friendship. I'm glad Jen's calling out Heather because she is in a unique position in which Heather said to her, I don't have a buddy. Let's be buddies.

I want you to be my buddy. And they had like that heart to heart. So she's in a way. weird spot in a good way where it's like, hey, you wanted to be friends. Now I'm commenting like a friend and you have an issue with that. And I like that she's calling out that, you know, it feels like you, you don't want to get involved in the drama. You cast a stone. Then you kind of step aside and let other people kind of clean it up. And then if people try to pull you in, you get all pissy. And that's what we see here. She's like, of every conversation. I'm pretty sure

I say exactly how I feel. No, you don't. You don't at all. You say one thing to somebody. Then you go to a confessional or to somebody there and you whisper something and make a comment about it. So I'm glad that at least Jen is calling that out. I guess I'm glad Tamara's calling it out just because we can add a little fuel to the Heather fire. As I assume, that's what we're going to try to do. I just don't have a lot of confidence that we're going to get it to the finish line because we've seen this before where it's like, let's poke and prod Heather a little bit.

Heather gets defensive and dignant and kind of shuts down. and then it kind of blows over, or you get Gina, Emily, coming to her defense, and then she doesn't have to answer for herself. So I guess the lack of confidence in going after Heather starting to creep in for me.

We're in the beginning. I was like, ooh, maybe we'll get her this season, where should get rattled a little bit. I don't think so. I really don't. Yeah. I don't think so either. The whole vibe of this conversation

was very weird to begin with because the three of them sitting down, I was not expecting that. I figured Heather was still keeping Jen at like an arm's length. Like I don't want you involved in conversations with Tamara because I know what you're trying to do. That's usually what Heather does. So it just had a completely different feel to it. Then when we get into it and Jen starts calling Heather out for her friendship comments,

I'm like, oh, okay, we're really just trying to push it here. We're trying to get things going. And I think this is when I realized what's wrong with a lot of these shows now is it's so storyline-focused. Everybody's just trying to find that one thing that's good. good. It's going to last the whole season. We have to try this one. We have to try this. It's just very strategic and stupid and annoying. Yeah, I can try. I feel like we've been saying that word a lot.

Because this show is fucking contrived. It is. But I wouldn't even just say, O.C. It's like you go to other housewife shows. You can see the shift when it starts to become a bad housewife show is when they start doing that. When they start saying, oh, we have to go after Elisa Barlow the entire season. It's like, why? It's just live together. Just do things. There's little, there's actual things going on. on in your lives that bleed over into the show and we talk about them and then you get into a big

fight because you're not handling those things like what happened to just actually being real and authentic and not trying to go into a season like all right what haven't we tried because you can see that and i'll do it with everybody i know i already said it with emily but you can see in scenes like this like we're applauding gen just because it seems different but we should be like hey how about you just live your life how about you just try to figure out what's going on and things will come organically. And it just seems like, especially in this show, just because we're talking about it right now, nothing's organic. It's all just the same bullshit every year. And we're trying to put wedges in between friendships because that makes good TV. It's just, it's very overly produced.

And it's just boring. I agree. I agree. But we keep moving and you get Vicky with her son, Michael. And I like this version of Vicky. I mean, she's always been somewhat of a share, but she seems to be in a just kind of a good place. So I like the way that she's going about. her business she's talking to her son i don't think that a mom ever needs to talk to a son about sperm or or word it with you don't have to say it you know you could say like are we going to you know take some some steps just to make sure samples don't know i don't think samples is cool either i think we just kind of stay away from sperm talk jizz no yeah jiz what no that you're going further away seed there's okay jesse

there's no no dude that's my point we can reference maybe you know are we going to have babies soon are you going to take the necessary steps to have a baby if you're not going to that stuff just hey are we going to freeze first of all are we going to have children uh are we going to freeze crazy yeah strange but you know whatever it's picky but it is kind of a uh interesting thing to listen to just their family dynamic you know he hasn't seen his sister in like eight years hasn't met her two kids. She lives in Oklahoma. He lives in Spain. It sounds like they face time and stuff like that, but they don't really have like that close relationship, which makes Vicki sad. And then she reflects on her life. And still, and she's been open about this, but she talks again about her biggest

regret being the fact that she and Don got divorced, that that was kind of this turning point in her life. Now she feels guilty and remorseful. And I'm assuming that's because she wanted this family dynamic of like, oh, I live in OC. My kids are down the street. Everyone comes over for Sunday. dinner right everyone's kind of everywhere so not a whole lot to take from it just like okay i like getting further into the family stuff i want to know more like this this was interesting to me yeah it's interesting mostly because there's clearly things that are not being talked about i mean i haven't seen my sister or her kids i there's two kids i haven't met in eight years i live in spain but you're in oc right now having dinner with your mom so you could easily go to oklahoma so there's

clearly some shit going on somewhere in there that we're not really talking about. And I don't know if we ever will. But it was a very interesting situation because it was very nonchalot. Like, oh, yeah. You know, I haven't seen Brianna in like eight years. I haven't even met two of her kids, which is, you know, sad. Like, okay. Elaborate, please.

Let's see. Let's hear some more. He's like, well, you know, I just, I don't know if I want to have kids. I'm happy living my selfish life over in, you know, wherever the hell I'm going to be from Spain to Thailand to wherever. I beat you. Okay. Yeah.

Yeah, not there. I'm never going to say that. But, uh, yeah. I don't know. There's definitely more here. I just don't know if we're going to get any more out of it. But Vicki is one of those people that she has earned the right to have scenes like this, where we're actually interested because we haven't seen Michael in years.

So now he passed back up. It's like, oh, there's Michael. What's he up to? Nothing. He lives in Europe, but he doesn't have kids. Nothing really changed since the last time we saw him. So that's fine. It's just, it's a good buffer scene, especially before we get to the rest of Gina and Emily, especially.

But let's keep trucking to another copy and paste. direct from last year directly from the season prior since Jen came on this show. Jen and Tamara confessional from Jen. Tamara's growing and changing so much. I'm genuinely shocked. Oh, really? Really? Shannon's going to say the same thing in about 10 minutes.

Guys. Yeah. and becoming better or whatever. We cannot on a show where everything else is the exact same as last year as the year before. This Tamara's shit, since she's been back, this is it every season. It's Will Shannon and Tamara be friends again? Is Tamara actually changing? And every season, everybody on the cast buys into it and says, oh, she changed.

Why? because she learned not to react in the moment. She just does her shit behind the scenes now, more so than she used to, which she did behind the scenes as well. But back in the day, she'd have a meltdown on camera. All we've seen her do this time is not react in the moment.

But she's still setting up pieces. She's still bringing up certain things at certain times like the TikTok. She's very strategic. She's very calculated. Everything she's done this season has been strategic and calculated. I don't have a problem with that because we've given Tamara the props that she deserves over the past few years. Do we like her?

No. Do you understand that she's trying to do her job? Yes. Do we respect that? Yes. Fine with it. But we cannot fucking do this again where it's like, I think she's changed. Hey, I think she's changed. Just leave that shit on the cutting floor. There's no reason for us to go to confessionals

and hear Jen say it, here Emily say it, hear everybody in the whole cast say it. I don't care. I know what you guys think. I've heard it before. I'm fine with the way the timer's operating because I do appreciate the fact that she tries to get certain things out of the way early. Like, all right, I'm not in a great place with Shannon right now. Vicki, help me out.

Let's just get mend some fences here and we'll get back to it so we can move forward past this and get into some other shit. Like, that's exactly what we should be doing. So I appreciate Tamer for that because no one else in the cast is going to do it. But there's always the Tamra problem, which isn't really her problem. It's just that other people can't really deal with her. Other people can't deal with the angry Tamara that's going to go after her. It's like, you just man up and go after it. Like, it doesn't make any sense to me.

because that's where we find ourselves every season. There's opportunities to call out Tamara for the shit that she does. And every time that it happens, that person then takes a step back, buckles under the pressure and can't continue it. So it doesn't work. But I do think in a weird way, Tamara would love it if you could get that to the finish line.

Tamara would love it if we can get a full season out of going after Tamara because at the end, all she really cares about is making a good product, being a good housewife. She can do that if she has a good supporting cast, but everybody else is either not interested or afraid of her, so it never really goes anywhere. So we have to have scenes like this.

And again, I don't give a shit. Like, I know what you guys think. I just don't need to go to the confessional, you know, four or five times per person every season. Tamara's really changed. Like we can see it. She's not reacting. Sure.

But she's doing other things and she's doing things to try to make the show good. Fine. That's exactly how she should be operating. But I don't need you guys to go to your confessionals and say it. It's just, again, it's just bullshit that this doesn't need to be mentioned at all. knock it off. Damn it. But Carmela arrives.

And they let her know that Gina's been talking some shit. We get that scene of like some cowgirl sex workout, as they call it. Yeah, thank God we didn't spend too much time there. I know. But the gift situation comes up. And Emily says, you know,

thank you so much for the bag. But I will tell you, Gina's been very vocal about it. Cue the clip of Gina being fucking vocal, accusing her of an ulterior motive. and Tamara and Jen are like, you know, maybe it's because Gina feels protective of Emily. Okay, let's break this now.

How did we get there? I don't know. How does a normal person jump to that? Because I don't get it. No clue. Also, all right, fine. But what is, what's the ulterior motive of a bag? Like, what is this clutch?

What is she trying to do? Like, weasel their way in between. I don't know. What do you, like, it doesn't make any sense. sense. Like, it's not logical. Like, what are you talking about? Are you jealous because you didn't get a bag? Are you jealous because you can't afford the bag? Like, what's the issue, Gina?

But I think, like, when we go through the motives, like, what do you think happens? Carmela got somewhat up to speed on how the show works. Who's friends with who? Who's close friends with who? And my whole strategy here is to get close to Emily? Like, come on. I know you guys think a lot about yourselves, but let's just break that down right there very simply. That's kind of far-fetched.

If anything, Carmela would come in and try to get close to Vicky, try to get close to Tamara. Maybe Shannon so that she immediately gets, yeah, maybe Heather so that she can immediately insert herself. Pretty much anybody but Emily or Gina. Literally, yeah, literally anybody but Emily Regina. I know it just happens to be that Emily's birthday happens early in the season, but I do think it would probably be, no matter who's birthday it is, they're getting that clutch. They're getting something from, from Carmela that's probably $3,000. That's just how she operates. We're not letting things ruminate.

We're not letting things sit and having another party and seeing what Comrillo shows up with. We have a lot of Halloween parties. Go have a Halloween party. See if Carmella shows up with like a $2,000 bottle of wine and be like, wow. Damn, maybe she's got some money. Maybe she's just throwing her money around. She's got kids.

They seem like they're doing okay except for skipping class. But let's figure out what's going on here. Instead, it's like, this is just weird. And we agree. It is weird that she gave Emily a $3,000 handbag. But if she's got money like that, who the fuck cares? That's what it's all about unless you guys are jealous. And it just wreaks a jealousy.

She's got a $35,000 a month rental. Like she's got quote unquote bankroll apparently. And here's my thing. Let's just look at it very, very basic. New Housewife coming on to a storied franchise of very wealthy women. New Housewife tries to show that she has, quote unquote, bankroll. Hey, I can hang with these. Ladies, here's a $3,000 clutch for a stranger.

In my head, that's a good move for a newbie. It's announcing your presence with authority. It's letting people know that, yeah, I got cash too. And I'm going to come in here and I'm going to ruffle some feathers. That's cool with me. But I do not understand why that's a problem to the point that we're now talking about it for the third episode in a row. And I'm glad they told Carmela about it.

I'm really hoping that what we get from this is she gets pissed. and she is able to hold her own against dumb and dumber when they start doing what they do between Gina and Emily and teaming up and putting that stupid ass hoodie on and going after Carmela for getting her a good gift. But we do get more about her backstory here. And she's talking about what got her into the quote unquote developer space. And essentially she's like a luxury flipper is what I've gathered from this. So she takes houses, buys properties, then flips them. but she caters to a higher-end clientele. Makes sense to me.

And she, first of all, it's like I've never had so much criticism in my personal finances before. People are asking me how much my rental is. People are worried about a $3,000 bag. Like, that's strange to me. We're with you, Carmela. We think it's strange to, especially on a show about money,

but whatever. She talks about her marriage with Jeff and how it fell apart. And they were building this like dream house. Is there forever? home. So she thought, well, since my shit's so fucked up, maybe I can help other people have a nice life. So she sold the house, made $1.4 million on it and got the bug. And she was like, since then, I've just been kicking ass. And you know what? I love a woman in a man's space. So I really like Carbella. And when she goes to this house that we, we see immediately after this

and like she seems to know what she's talking about. It doesn't seem to me like one of those scenes where someone, you know, works, quote, unquote, in an office. And then we see the scene with them in the office with just a bunch of random documents walking up to like an assistant and be like, give me 10 copies of these and call Frank. Get Frank on the line for me. I'll be in the office. Yeah, it was very, uh, uh, what's her name from Miami? Stephanie.

Yeah. When they did the Stephanie scenes. Yeah. Those are the two that, that goes side by side, my, my head. I know this is a forced scene. I know this is a setup like, hey, Carmel, what do you have on your docket today? I'm going to go see this guy. All right, we're going to bring the cameras.

We'll film this. It's not necessarily rehearsed, but she actually does sound like she knows what she's talking about. She's going about it the right way. And then you have those other scenes like a Stephanie when you go down to Miami who's holding meetings and in the board room. And you can tell everybody's looking around like, you never do this. I don't want to deal with this. You've never been talking about. You have never been here once.

You don't even come up to this floor. Usually just go up to the penthouse and then go back down with your dogs. That's all you ever do. So going at it like that, it's like, okay. Yeah, that's enough for me to believe what she's doing. And it seems like it's on the up and up. It seems like it's fine. But God, it's just I can't, I can and can't wait for Gina to drop the, you know,

I'm in the real estate game and I've never even heard of you or I've never heard of what you do. It's just flipping. How about we just admit that it's flipping? It's like, why? Why do we have to admit that it's flipping? Who cares? I don't know. Who really gives a shit?

The gated group isn't even on the same level as what she's doing. So just leave it alone. You don't want that kind of smoke because if Carmela can hold her own, she can go. she can go right back at Gina and be like, what is this fucking gated group that you started? What do you have like three properties? You and your weird fiancee sell them and then go around talking about it all day and make TikToks.

It doesn't really sound that good to me. Yeah, like, I just don't get it. I don't understand. And this is, this is what we expect. This is what you get. And we've looked for it for years when it comes to a newbie, when it's Gina or Emily going after Katie.

They can't hold their own. They're not good housewives. But for whatever reason, the other person that they're going after can never quite get it right. And all you have to do is just be a little mean. Just be a little mean and attack their personal lives. That's enough. They'll move on.

I think Carmel has got it in her. I really do. I think she's up to snuff. I hope she is. She's just to bat them away like a nat. Like, hey, you two shut up and go wear your hoodie together. And yes, obviously the scene's played up. You know, when she's like, you know what I really like to do in this game.

instead of putting it at 9, 4, 9, 5, why don't you put it at 899? It's called a Bidig war. And then you have multiple people fight. Oh, shit, never thought of that. That's genius. But it does seem like she knows what she's doing. Like, I just want her to bop those two and be like, hey, dumb and dumber, knock it off. Hey, gated group.

One of my properties makes what you make in a year. All right. Like, stop. And like, she works for the Oppenheimer Group, which is what, million dollar listing? So like, yeah, look, I just, all I need is somebody to shut up Gina because apparently she's the only realtor in Orange County. She's the only one that knows anything about real estate. That's what I'm saying. Now we're in a bad place.

She was better when she was poor and relatable. Now she's not. She's upper middle class and that's the worst thing that could have happened because now she's annoying. Like that's, that's where we got to. So I just, I don't, I don't like the. look on that. And what Emily's doing is she's playing nice to Carmela. She's going to flip. We all know she's going to flip at some point because she's got Gina's back. Carmela's going to say one thing about Gina questioning her. It's going to be on brand. It's going to make a lot

of sense. But Carmela says it. But Emily's going to be like, that was a little too far. Now I got to switch over to Gene. Like we know you're switching back. Just like you're not really giving her a fair shot. You're just getting close to her so that when she says something because she thinks you're friends, you can go running to Gina and probably Heather. And they'll have a whole big issue with and clutch their pearls. And we know it's coming. Just get it over with. Like,

do it, do it soon, please. Or just shoot me instead. Yeah, yeah. That's not work to do. Oh, God damn it.

ooh, like, baby takes it. She's like, no, as soon as they call me, I'm going back. I don't give them shit. The cartel doesn't scare Vicki Gunblsen. have like she's like a visa issue right now too like why is she why does she want to go back still quickly you might not be able to get back to america to film the rest of your show so i don't know what you're doing yeah she's just vicky being vicky i don't have any problems with it but as we know tamas having a prayer to myerta party for vicky and shannon texted her to help come

over and decorate now i have two sides to this one one here we go again but two and this is the what I'm holding on to more. Good. If we can get these two to just fucking squash it and just be able to coexist, have some fun moments. Maybe you do get the Trace Amegas bopping around a little bit where Vicki Shannon and Tamara can have some funny moments. Awesome.

Like I'm so much more into that idea than another season of Shannon versus Tamara. Like just make up. Yeah. That's what I said last week. When we got the Trace Amegas back together, I was very enthralled that we were getting it out of the way early. It was episode three. Let's just do it.

Bring it together. Vicky is a very good mediator. She'll be able to make sure that both of your best interests are in mind and we'll be able to move forward. And I'm okay with not being friends. Just move forward. So we stopped talking about it because we were already done. We already hit like our energy factor at the point of like episode two where we keep

going to confessionals. It's like, hey, did you talk to? No, I didn't talk to Tamara. Now we are talking. Now we're okay. As long as Tamer can kind of like, I don't know why I'm going to say this, but as long as she can keep it in her pants in the sense of like, hey, I'm not going to go overboard on this whole friendship thing like she usually does,

which is like, oh, we're all back together. This is fantastic. And then she just does something else that obviously pushes Shannon away. And Shannon's a little timid here and there will be okay. We can at least coast through the season where there aren't issues because I'm sorry, Tamara and Shannon budding heads is just not entertaining anymore. It used to be. It's kind of sad now.

I agree. So hopefully we're getting to a place of cordiality at the very least. But this is hopefully going to ignite a fire in Carmela that's going to get her to kind of bop multiple people in this group. Because Shannon went shopping with Carmela. And Vicki, for whatever reason, has this weird vendetta against her. And I know exactly why. It's because she was in Playboy. She was a playmate.

So she's taking the low hanging fruit, which is going to happen multiple times this season. You called it episode one that this was going to be a thing. And here it is. You know, she got naked for money. Am I impressed? No, I'm not impressed. Don't do that. Like, that's stupid.

Like, come on now. Like, she has made, like, taken whatever that was and turn it into this. And also, I don't care how you make your money. As long as you're a good person, I could give two shits. It's like all those dudes that clamber about, oh, only fans models. and they get so quote unquote up in arms about it. Meanwhile, those are the guys that are subscribed to all me fans.

Like, shut up. I hate, this is such a moot point to me. I think it's lazy as shit to just point out the fact that she was in Playboy and that's somehow a bad thing. Like, it's dumb.

Just not. I think he's going to lose this one. And I'm curious more so than anything, how the rest of the ladies are going to defend it or if they're going to jump on board with it. Because I think that this. could actually be something that can drive a wedge in the group and ruffle some feathers, like really get under some people's skin because I need some people to take the logical, reasonable approach and go, that's a stupid thing, Vicky.

Let's not do that. And then we might actually have like a come to blows verbally between some big hitters. Like, I'm cool with that. I'm cool with that. And I also think that I imagine that Carmela has gone through years of her life where she had to defend quote unquote her stance on that and what she did when she was younger. I think maybe it's a little too early. I wanted Carmela to get ahead of it a little bit more.

Talk to other women in the group, like make sure that it was very nonchalant. Like, yeah, I was a playmate of the year. Talk about it a couple more times. Be able to defend it in a way of like, all right, I'm just throwing this out there right now so you guys can't come back later. Unfortunately, Vicki just jumped on this right away. She's got a weird vendetta towards her. I don't know how this is going to.

I know where Vicki's coming from because she is the business woman of all business women. So she's looking at it like, I don't know what you do. Why don't you just admit that you flip houses? And that might be a little annoying. It could also be funny because it's thicky. So I don't really care about it that much, but don't go into the Playboy stuff. Just leave that out there. Maybe make a comment here and there and just to see how she goes, but otherwise, leave it alone. Yeah, you said it like literally the we got introduced to Carmela and that was your first comment. It's like this is going to happen. And here it is. It's happening. I'm like I said, I'm much more so interested in how the rest of the group responds to it. I think

Carmela, like you said, has probably dealt with this in the past. She can handle herself. Yeah, exactly. So it'll be interesting. But, yeah, it's just the wacky Shannon shit. Like, I can't like, do it. They breathe water? No.

No. Dude. And then immediately after that, immediately after that, you get wacky Shannon falling on the stairs going into Tamershouse to decorate. Oh. Oh. No.

No. That's why I'm happy we didn't get the, uh, the Cal girl sex. Yeah. aerobics or whatever the hell it was. I know the shadow was just doing that the entire time and it would have really, really pissed me off. Like here's the thing. Even if it's real production,

cut it. Just cut it. Don't put it in there anymore. Please for us, for our sake, just for me and shooters sake, if nobody else. Tamara has a game set up and,

you know, like I said, love her or hate her, at least she does her job because she's upset about the box. comment and the fact that Heather compartmentalizes their friendships. So I got a game tonight, friend in a box. And Heather has no idea. And Shannon, this is encouraging because her takeaway from that is just like,

uh, probably going to lead to a fight. That's it. She didn't have more to say about it. She wasn't like, oh, here comes to hammer again. It was just like, eh, I'm not getting involved, but sounds like it's going to be a fight. I'm like, oh, okay, progress. Yes, stay out of it. Stay out of it.

Understand what Tamara's going to do. see it for what it is, make a comment just saying, well, that looks like a good way to set up a fight. I'm out. Cool. Good. Stay out. That's probably better for you anyway. Love that. And I love that we get a, you know, big one else just tired. It's weird season in the world. And at the mercury and retrograde will always make me laugh because my mom is a big mercury and retrograde person. I don't know if you remember in high school, she wouldn't tell us all like when you guys would come over my house, she'd let people know. And I still, to this day, in the family group chat.

We'll get a text message at like one in the morning. Just heads up, guys. Mercury's retrograde. So just be careful out there. You got to be careful out there with Mercury's retrograding. But it's the Puerto Fierta party. So obviously we're drinking marg, we're eating tacos.

Hey, where's Carmela? She's in Santa Fe with her family. Oh, yeah. Because she doesn't live here. She just rents a place to pseudo live here. Based on what? What do you know about Carmelo, Vicki? Like, what are you talking about?

Since when is that an issue? That's become recent. It lives in fucking New York. I know. That whole thing is so stupid. Like, what do we care? We're gatekeeping now? We're gatekeeping.

I actually, you know what? Gatekeeping the OC makes a lot of sense. But if she's paying $35,000 a month, who cares? It's not the end of the world. By the way, turn to your left. Look at Heather. She doesn't live at OC. She lives in Beverly Hills now.

So what are we talking about? It's just, it's picking and, choosing and it's an OC faux pa we are going to go after the newbie because we don't want new people on this show because we want to spiral in mediocrity until we get canceled. Yep. That's just shush. But yeah, the semantics game of this whole thing, you said, because it's Vicky, it might be funny.

I don't care if she's a house flipper. I don't care if she calls herself a developer. As long as she is actually doing her job, whatever that job is, I'm fine. But you know it's going to get pushed to a different level because now Vicky is a dog with a bone and you got Gina that's going to be in Vic because Gina doesn't have the balls to do it. She's going to talk shit about the newbie when push comes to shove. Carmel is going to go out of her in box. But Gina knows she can rile up Vicky. She knows she can be in her ear talking about what Carmel is doing and what Carmel is claiming to be.

and Vicky is going to go full throttle because Vicky has an issue with Carmela being in Playboy. So it's like you can see it starting. It makes more sense now if you go back to the first episode when Carmela came in and she met Vicky and goes to her confessional saying, I'm not bowing down to anybody. That makes me think that there is some point where we're going to be butt in heads. But hopefully it's one of those things like a mutual respect thing. Like, all right, we can get it out of the way. You guys butt heads.

Then you look at each other. You're like, all right, cool. We can move forward. This is fun. We'll be all right together. That's what I'm hoping anyway. Yeah, thing he's crossed, but Jen, Tamara, and Emily get a little split conversation, and Jen and Tammy and Emily are off to the side.

And they let Jen know that Heather's upset because she feels like you're too invested in her and Tamara's friendship. And by the way, she thinks you're obsessed with Tamara. Very interesting choice of words for the exact reason that Jen lays out later. This was a whole thing from Tamara. Tamara said this with the hair extensions. and all the stuff that Jen was doing to emulate the workout classes, all the shit. So that's pointed.

And Heather knows. Heather is not dumb. And she wants to be able. And this has kind of been our issue with her for years now. She wants to be able to just get involved when she wants to. And that's what they said earlier in the episode, which I was actually impressed they called that out. Yeah. She wants to dip a toe.

And then she doesn't, but she doesn't want to deal with it. It's like, ah, no. No, this is classic to borrower. deflection. This is what we've seen for years. All she's going to do, throw another thing out there. You know what? Tamara and Jen, maybe they're not as close as they were before and maybe they're still repairing their friendship. I'd rather the two of them fight or somehow bring up some old emotions so I can just sneak out the back door. That's all she ever tries to do. And it's, it's annoying to us because it's very obvious and you can see it coming from a mile away.

But every time it just works because it gets somebody else riled up and then the whole situation shifts. and we forget that Heather was in the middle of it to begin. So it doesn't make any sense to me because it's not good for storytelling. It's not good for a show. We want to watch her be involved for multiple episodes, try to defend herself, try to get back to good graces with somebody else, whatever it might be,

and then we can move on. But she never gets to that point because she's able to spin it in a different way and get somebody else involved and then take a step out. So again, it looks like this is what we're doing, but maybe not because of how this whole thing goes. I don't know how. I really have no hope, though.

I don't actually have hope, but it did give me a brief sense of like, ooh, maybe because the fact that Tamara is continuing to go after Heather gently, the fact that in confessional she's going a little bit harder about the Heather thing than calling her out on the Dubrow deflection, which I like that very much, nice call. It does give me a hope that she's not going to let this go this year. And that's going to be our saving grace. if Tamara doesn't let it go because she can hold on to something better than anybody. If this is what she's decided to lock in on this season,

then she's going to keep pushing. And the thing is, as you see in this scene, as they play the friend in a box game that Gene has to point out, or she didn't even change the name of the game. Should have been, should have been, fuck you, Heather. Too much power. She has too much power. Damn it.

I can do something about this. And I think the other funny thing is, the way that we talk about this and the way that we want things to happen. When I play that out in my head, Tamara versus Heather the entire season isn't really that entertaining. It's really not that fun. It doesn't really matter. It doesn't move the needle.

But it's a little different. So don't take us saying this is like, wow, that would be great. There's nothing you could really convince me at this point that this show is going to all a sudden be great. There's no turning point. There's no involvement from somebody doing something that they haven't seen before. We're just looking for things we haven't seen before. If we see something that we haven't seen before, even though we know it's not going to be good,

At least it gives us something different to talk about. We get to analyze something else. Otherwise, we're just doing the same thing that we do every year. By the time we hit, like, episode 60 or 17, that OC fatigue just sets in and we are done. 16 or 17.

Wow. I don't think that. It's like six or seven for me. But as I was saying, like what you do see in this scene when Heather's trying to defend herself, because we go through everybody, and most of them are pretty nice for the most part.

You know, Tamara, obviously is like this, to me watching this. I'm like, this is a move, guys. You know that Tamara's playing a game right now. She's just reading everything. I completely agree with everything that you guys are saying. I have no issues at all with anything that's in my box. Everyone's like, well, I'll be.

Tamara's changed. It's like, hi. Like, no, you don't come on. Come on. The thing that I locked in on is the fact that once Heather starts going and where she's reading her. stuff. People start kind of going in and Emily's saying like I've all you've done is talk this entire time. I've only heard you talk and you get Tamara questioning their friendship. I'm confused

because you make it seem like we're friends and you talk to everyone else because you don't want to be my friend. It's very confusing. Jen jumps in and she's talking about how you know, Heather, you want to be buddy buddy with me. And then I have a comment as a friend should about this weird thing with Tamara. And now you're going to somebody else. You don't even have the balls to talk to me and tell me you're upset with me after we just hung out. But you told me you need a buddy, that doesn't make sense. Heather gets rattled. And she does not really know what to do.

She's spinning and saying like, would you let me talk? Would you let me figure? Nothing she says lands. And it was kind of sporadic. That gives me hope that if Tara can keep on this and keep leaning, she gets support from Jen. If you actually have an Emily that not necessarily goes against Heather, but just stays out of it.

Again, is it? it exhilarating? No. No. Is it different? Yes. The other issue I have is as we kind of like wind down that whole conversation, Jen seems visibly upset. And I know she's going through a lot with Grayson and all the other stuff that goes along with it and the divorce. I think we might lose Jen. I think we're going to lose Jen very soon in terms of the fight against Heather. And then obviously if it's just Tamara and Heather going back and forth, Tamara needs to tap somebody else in. I don't know who else she can happen at this point because no one else really wants to go against Heather. Maybe it's an Emily, but I don't see that lasting very long.

So I'm afraid that we're going to lose Jen because she's been a pretty good catalyst, at least again, for something different, for going after Heather and having something of substance that Heather slipped up and said something to Jen and she took it right to Tamara as she should. But if we lose Jen along the way, then it's just Tamara and Heather. And if Tamara feels like the tide's turning or she's not getting anywhere, she's going to abandon it. And then we're kind of just back to square one with everything, which I don't know. Maybe they're saving us in a way because it wouldn't be that energy. anyway but at least if we get a couple episodes out of it you know it just staves off that

hunger yeah that's fair and yeah i noticed that too with jenn she kind of checks out towards the end of everything because yeah again i think she just irritated with it and dealing with she's like she's reading all of her box things she's like you're a really nice and kind she's like her hype girl understanding and kind thanks thanks guys wow yeah you're a hype girl because like yeah we got debby downer over here with vicky and you're the hype girl you guys could learn something from each They're like, you know, yeah, thanks, guys. Thank you. Let's move on.

I'm like, uh, Jen, you're checking out, aren't? Yeah, that's not a great look. I hope she, maybe she rallies back. But again, the episode ends with Tamara reading her thing, right? Or sorry, Shannon reading hers. And then Tamara's like, you know, you hold grudges, kind but holds grudges. You want to move forward with me, but you still seem hesitant. Tamara, you said three weeks ago at the quiet woman, quiet lady,

whatever that restaurant's called, that she was a drunk that will never get a man. That was three weeks ago. Okay? So for you to sit here now and then pull a Tamara and fake tears again, then when you texted me the other night, I just started crying. I was like,

oh my God, here's my friend. It's like with the good old days. What that I don't have a problem with. Tamara's being Tamara. We knew this is going to happen. Fine. I'm glad that Shannon is allowing herself to hopefully move forward.

Tamara, obviously she still hasn't again three weeks ago you dragged her my issue's not there it's just looking around the group and everyone's like holy shit who is this woman tamil judge reincarnated therapy's going well good for her oh my god yeah i don't know bro it's just i'm trying i'm trying i'm really try i had the tech i texted dev and was legit like hey is this season as bad as i think it is or do I really just have a bias against this show? And she said, I hate it too. So I do it was a hell.

Look, right now I think it's just boring. It's not even like, it's not bad. It's not good. It's just boring. So I'm hoping that, hoping we at least get like a couple episodes here where it's a little entertaining. Yeah, I don't know, dude.
