Starting point is 00:00:00 well you know what that means it's time for the news did you hit something what yeah that was the soundboard oh i didn't hear it this time i wonder if it even went through i hope no i clicked the soundboard to make me to make the soundboard say you know what that means it's time for the news i just did it again oh wow well done i didn't know you were so tech savvy yeah baby Shows and shows, I got to have me my bros and shows. Bros and shows. Brose and shows. I got to have me my bros and shows.
Starting point is 00:00:35 Good evening, everybody. And welcome back to another episode of Bros. And shows, I'm your co-host, Steele Russell, joined as always by first on the scene, Scooter McLean. What's that, dude? It makes me feel clean. I like being clean. You like being clean? Yes.
Starting point is 00:00:53 What are we doing? I don't know. You started it. What do you want me to do? Yes, I like being clean, but we're not here to talk about my hygiene. We're here to talk about the news. We got some big things to talk about, some little things to talk about. But the two main johns are trailers that we're going to get into.
Starting point is 00:01:11 And I feel like a lot more went on. But I guess not. You're processing the trailers right now? Kind of. I'm not going to the trailers. I mean, like, newsworthy-wise, I feel like a lot's been going. on but it's all fairly like show centric so we cover it in the recaps but you know ever since uh the big one was wendy and the allegations against her and happy eddie but we haven't
Starting point is 00:01:35 seen anything come out of that yet except they're like counter suing or something i don't know yeah but anyway we're not lawyers we are not lawyers and it's good to start off every news episode by reiterating that we are not lawyers although yeah i you know what that says more about bravo people than it says about us though because you know what just stay clean just to take it back you know stop going and fucking it up and breaking the law doing all these dumb things you know it's not all right understand i'll never understand why you apply to be on a show and you have all these skeletons in your closet jenshaw you could have stopped it why you apply to be on a shell honestly and that's just nuts like you know damn well that or maybe they don't like that's the crazy part bravo fans
Starting point is 00:02:22 are going to find it. They think that they are going to be able to get away with whatever it is that they're getting away with. But narcissism. Yeah, it's like, I've been able to hide my shit from the IRS for years. But now I'm on this stupid show on Bravo and some dumbass with like a weird picture as their profile picture on Twitter cracks the code. It's like, yeah, it happens every fucking time. I don't know why you're so surprised. If Bravo fans got hired by the IRS, they would catch so many more.
Starting point is 00:02:52 inconsistencies. I don't know if that's, well, yes, I do think that their catch, the amount of catches they would have would be a lot higher, but they would also just go after people they don't like because they're probably, that's how that works. So they would cast a very wide net and they would catch things that they shouldn't be catching that actually aren't illegal things, and it would just be to put a damper on the people that they don't really like. But anyway, let's talk about some actual news.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Let's talk about some things that have been going on. Like Steel said, a lot of the things that have been going on over the last couple of weeks have been very show-centric, so we have covered it in the recap. But we figured, let's give the people a little standalone episode since we got two trailers, two, count them, two trailers this week. And for once, Bravo didn't screw us because we did plan on doing news today and they dropped both trailers today. So that was very nice of them, or at least one of them was yesterday.
Starting point is 00:03:47 But before we get into the news, let's talk about some current events. we know that we've got some summerhouse activity we've got some post summer house activity we've got some things going on i want to talk about jesse solomon because we did talk about how he's putting all these tictox out there singing his song that sounds like it's a sitcom uh intro song now that's actually a really good way to put it that that's exactly i've been trying to pinpoint it that's what it is yep yeah that's yeah it's you know whatever three's company or whatever that's pretty much what i get like when i hear him singing which i'm forced to i never go and look for it every time i hear his singing it's against my will it just pops up i don't want to see it and yet it's there anyway so now he's taking his talents to the stage and he had
Starting point is 00:04:33 i don't know if this is a plan for a tour or what the fuck he's doing but he had a one-man show which was definitely not a one-man show because every single person from summer house was there and they all got on stage and sung with them apparently it was just awful it was just god awful and there was nothing to it. You know, we've heard a lot of housewives doing things like this. Luann, obviously the most famous of the mall going on her one woman show. She's made a, she's made a career out of it. Yeah, she's made a career out of it. We had questions about Karen going on and doing her one woman show. It seemed okay. We still don't really know what was going on there. This seems to be the worst. It just seems to be the worst. He's up there singing. I don't know if
Starting point is 00:05:13 you saw clips from this. He was up there singing and the singing was not good. It's all original songs and then he did a couple of covers and it seemed like when he hit the panic button he just decided to bring kyle up and just throw some t-shirts to the crowd was there a panic moment i don't know if it's a panic moment because he doesn't seem like the type of guy that would ever admit that he had a panic moment it would just kind of be like oh yeah apart for the course i expected this but yeah i i just don't want this to be a thing in summer house like please don't it's going to make this the storyline i I really hope it's not because it wasn't last year and he was doing this last year. He was doing some of this last year.
Starting point is 00:05:53 Not like this, though. Just please, I know you're still editing Summerhouse. It's not going to drop for a little while. If anyone's listening to this and you're a producer for Summerhouse, just cut it. Just get all of this straight out of there. We don't want to see it. We just don't want to. I have questions.
Starting point is 00:06:08 Are there bad reviews or is this your personal opinion? No, there's really bad reviews. Any TikTok that I saw of people. people in the crowd were saying like this wasn't even as bad as it actually got it's just all I had that I felt well now I got to take to the the message boards real quick and see last week it might be a little bit I'm just gonna you can you can keep going I just uh want to see jesse solomon show yeah uh it's it pretty much just turned into a variety show like let me get all the people that are actually famous up here from their show the show that I'm also on
Starting point is 00:06:44 and they'll pass out lover boy stuff that'll work oh boy every time we allow jesse solomon a platform to sing we're one step closer and it's his face morphing into sandoval's he yeah i'll look at these later but yeah there there is some uh a lot of disparaging comments about his singing because i you know me i fully believe if you have a passion and want to pursue it you should go and pursue your passion i don't think that you should be dampered by the public I think you should go out there and live your life, how you want to live your life. That being said, I was actually expecting it to not be that bad. I thought it was going to be corny as shit, but I, like, he's got a good voice.
Starting point is 00:07:26 So maybe it just didn't click. Maybe it had a bad night? No, no, definitely not. Honestly, the way that I see that, what you just said, if you want to go follow your dreams, you want to have to go after your passion. I believe that is very true for the layperson. If you are on Bravo and I have to watch it, I am going, to be in hell.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Oh, that's a good point. So we don't do this. Please stop is my plead. And I want to just talk about a little bit more about the Summer House because I'm just getting annoyed even talking about Jesse's singing. I don't know if this is something because we still haven't gotten any confirmation that Carl's going to be in this upcoming show in the city. We still have some things, obviously, you know, the confirmation is it's going to be Lindsay,
Starting point is 00:08:11 it's going to be Kyle, it's going to be Amanda, it's going to be. it's going to be Andrea and his wife. But Carl, I would imagine, is going to be in the show. And he ran the New York Marathon the other day. Did you see all the clips from that? Again, the Summer House crew, I can't quite figure out if they are all definitely friends with each other or this is all PR. Because they're always together. Every soft bar event, everybody from Summerhouse is there.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Every time that Jesse's on stage, apparently, all the Summer House people are there. So, like, do they actually hang out this much or is this just all PR shit? probably somewhere in the middle the fact that they're showing up is still really nice even if it is to boost PR but they do they go to all the random events i their relationships all seem genuine i think they are actually friends and i'm sure that they also recognize like hey we're all trying to push our own shit it'll probably benefit all of us if we all show up for each other that kind of vibe that that's where i land with it yeah that's where i land with it too and we haven't gotten any more reports out of in the city and they've been filming for a while. Honestly, that first week was hot. There were people taking pictures all over the place. There was questionable, possible castmates popping up here and there that we didn't know already. And then it just kind of went radio silent. So I don't really know what to expect outside of what the news that we got already is. But I'm still happy and I'm still expecting some sort of greatness from it. I still expected to be a nice old change up. It's definitely
Starting point is 00:09:39 going to be a good show. It's going to be a nice change up. It's highlighting the things that we want them to highlight about Summerhouse the last few seasons have been at their best when they're in the city so this makes all the sense in the world i'm excited for it i think no news is good news the more we get like drops and sneak peek and ooh this step in like anytime that starts coming out too much i get wary i'm like i don't know you're really pushing this shit this doesn't seem coincidental you're trying to drum up they they tend to drum up more publicity for bad shows than they do for the good shows. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:17 So that's probably why we're not hearing a whole lot from that. And honestly, Summer House usually comes out early the next year. So January, they might push it or rather, you know, make it a little bit more available, I guess, in like January versus a February because they do have in the city on the heels.
Starting point is 00:10:34 And I imagine they'll probably do some sort of crossover towards the end of that. That would make the most sense to me. But I don't really know. And talking about shows that are done filming and are going to be slated for early next year and sometime, maybe March, maybe April, sometime in the spring. We've got some Valley News. I don't know what took so long, obviously, over the last couple of weeks we did hear that
Starting point is 00:10:58 Sheena is not going to be in the Valley and she's not a full-time castmate. But for whatever reason, yesterday and the day before, more people are picking this up. Lala was confirmed to be a full-time castmate for the Valley. and they just finished filming today or last night rather so that's done they're all good they're in post-production but i guess what my takeaway is is that they filmed the whole season and then they decided okay la la's in this a bunch we'll just make her a full-time castmate i guess i don't know because then contracts come into play and she's not going to film if she doesn't get the contract like that happens on shows so i would imagine it was probably full-time
Starting point is 00:11:39 throughout the whole thing, but maybe they kept it close to the chest. I don't know. Because, again, the only other way you could do it is to pay her what she's owed at the end of it. Be like, oh, you're full time. I need to reimburse you X amount of money, which seems like a dumb way to do business. But maybe, who the hell knows? Maybe if it is what you're saying, that gives me reason to worry because they got done editing. and they're like fuck we don't have enough let's do more la la scenes that's kind of where my head
Starting point is 00:12:14 went to and i i was already a little nervous about the valley for the season because i did say last year in the middle of season two that this could be one of those shows that just sucks in two years but the news about sheena not being in it made me a little bit more hopeful because i thought that was going to be the downfall and it's not lala's been off of our screens for the most part she popped up like once or twice last season it really wasn't that bad she wasn't that annoying So I'm hoping that there's more of the same there. The news that I'm hearing from the Valley, though, is that Melissa, or I'm sorry, not Melissa, Michelle, and Jesse's girlfriend Lacey are apparently friends and everything's good. So that's great because we did get confirmation that Lacey was going to be filming.
Starting point is 00:12:58 We saw a lot of pictures of different events where Jesse and Lacey were together. So it looks like she's been ingratiated. It looks like all of that cease and desist bullshit is kind of at the door at this point. We're done with it. Let's move on. We're on the same show. Hopefully that's what we get. There's going to be a ton of drama with all of them, obviously.
Starting point is 00:13:15 That's just the type of show that it is. But the other thing that I noticed, there was a picture. And this was when they were rapping. Everybody was there, including Janet. This is the first time that we've seen Janet actually filming with everybody. So for me, that just kind of seems like the pictures we got in the beginning of the season. There was no Janet. I think it was Kristen's baby shower.
Starting point is 00:13:37 There was no Janet. She wasn't showing up. Yeah, weren't they, like, overseas? That was the whole thing that she ran and took her family over to Europe to get away from all the people that were threatening her because of how bad of a person she turned her her profile private. Yeah. Or did she just turn off commenting? No, she turned her profile private. She went full private, yeah, which is always a great thing for a public figure to do.
Starting point is 00:13:59 Yeah, we're going to get a whole victim storyline next season of how she was picked on and alienated and that's going to be her go-to. So that's going to be a lot of fun. especially to hear Jason chime in about it. Can't wait for that. I'm nervous about this season. And not just because of Lala. Sheena not being on, like you said, big win for us. But I don't know.
Starting point is 00:14:21 I'm afraid that we're going to get people getting really comfy and overproducing, forcing moments. And what's so good about this show is the drama seems so real and so palpable that we're going to run into an issue if we start trying to. trying to force things. And I feel like because of the ego of some of these castmates, I could see that going to the next level this season, which would cause the show to take a downturn.
Starting point is 00:14:52 Yeah, definitely would. And I'm actually really surprised now that they're done filming and all of the things that we heard, it didn't seem like there were any cast changes aside from adding walla. So it seems like everybody stayed, which I'm actually very surprised about, because I could see them kind of parting ways with a Jasmine and parting ways with not you can't really part ways with janet honestly you did have to bring her
Starting point is 00:15:13 back even though jacks is gone her back but jacks obviously is gone yeah that was the big one but they didn't get rid of anybody else and they didn't really add anybody else from what i'm understanding it's really just la la so if they're going to run it back with the same crew maybe they were hopeful maybe they had something cooking they figured christin having the baby nia having the baby nia and danny moving out to santa clorita was going to be enough for us to keep going so i'm hopeful for it i think it's still going to be a good season. But I do believe that, you know, a couple of years from now, we might be in some trouble just based off of what we've seen already. I'm not going to really think about that, though. I don't want my mind to go to a dark place. Yeah, I, by nervous,
Starting point is 00:15:51 I just mean I love this show and I don't want it to take a weird turn. We are inevitably in for a bad season at some point. It's just whether or not they can write the ship afterwards if it continues on. They're so good when they're on that I am optimistic. I think that we're going to be okay. The nerves come in because I start to think about some of the pitfalls of other shows that we've watched where you start to get a comfortable cast and things start to change. You look at VPR. It took VPR a while to get to that point, but they got there. Now, we're hoping because these are some salty vets, that they've already done that and gotten that out of their system. There are obviously some new faces that haven't had that kind of success in reality TV, and now they do.
Starting point is 00:16:36 That's where I get a little bit nervous. But overall, the running it back of the same cast makes me confident that we're not trying to change things, not trying to shift people around to make it watchable. So I think it'll be good, but you understand where their pitfalls could come in. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, for sure. You know, it's better than the one big thing? Two big things.

Starting point is 00:17:31 or is the time when Jane Austen wrote her books. The Regency era was also an explosive time of social change, sex scandals, and maybe the worst king in British history. Vulgar History's new season is all about the Regency era, the balls, the gowns, and all the scandal. Listen to Vulgar History, Regency era, wherever you get podcasts. This podcast is dedicated to my younger self because she really needed it.
Starting point is 00:17:58 She couldn't keep a man or a job. Welcome to Broccoli Therapy. I'm your host, Stephanie Megan. I'm your co-host, Rose McAlees. Every week, we dive into dating, sex, and relationships. We are not professionals, but we bring professionals on the pod to give us some advice. Listen to Broco Therapy wherever you love to listen to podcasts. Therapy is too expensive, but this podcast isn't. But that was a pretty good segue too, because we
Starting point is 00:18:27 We just started talking about VPR real quick. The trailer dropped. The release date dropped. It's going to air on December 2nd, which I believe is a Tuesday. Was that the normal VPR day? I already got that. It was. Yeah, so slayed it right back in.
Starting point is 00:18:42 They are not calling it VPR, new rules or anything like that. It's just VPR season 13. No, it's VPR season 13. A trailer I watched then. Yeah. Oh, I don't know. Who knows? Maybe they did change the name, but everything that Bravo was putting out.
Starting point is 00:18:57 just said VPR season 13, or season 12, season 13, I think it is. So I'm a little surprised by that. Now, obviously, we don't really know anything about them. I did read, like, quick bios of the people that are going to be on the show. It is a bunch of people that have worked at Sir for years. So there's a couple of our managers, a couple bartenders that have been there for four years. One of the girls has been there for seven years. So that immediately puts my mind at ease because we're not just shuffling people in off the street,
Starting point is 00:19:24 people that want to be influencers, people that want their shot that haven't been there for a while. Yeah, I'm sure there's going to be like one or two people that only worked at the bar for a year or two, but that's going to be kind of fun. If you have a good core of people who have been there for years, they understand what's going on, they have a good report with Lisa. I think that's going to work out really well. Other than that, I've gotten nothing because, you know what? To be quite frank, I don't want to look up these people.
Starting point is 00:19:47 I don't want to see what their lives are about. I want to learn about them on the screen. No, it's their job to sell us. you need to get us to buy this show. Put the on it's on them. Yeah, I agree. I'm kind of 50-50 on the trailer after watching it. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:20:05 I put no stock in the trailer. This was such an interesting one. So, like, we're going to talk about a trailer after this where I'm certainly putting zero stock in the trailer. But for this, I don't know any of these people who knows, like, what they're even using for the trailer. Bravo trailers in general are usually very weird unless it's a very, good show where we know what's going to happen this is let's see how it plays out yeah i don't know
Starting point is 00:20:28 why i'm being so optimistic usually i'm yeah me neither but yeah it's kind of weird i think because it's all new faces and lisa's still there and i got a little bit of a boost because they've been there for years and they're not just new people i'm feeling pretty optimistic about it i don't know i'm putting it like a i'm like a seven and a half out of ten which is pretty high for me that's very high for you let me tell you why i'm not i'm probably like a five, which would be 50-50. So I'm very nervous. That's the word of the day, apparently, that we're going to get a bunch of people that have worked there, right?
Starting point is 00:21:07 Which is a good thing. I agree because they're comfortable. They know the layout. They know the people. They're comfortable. So I'm into that. The fact that someone's been there for seven years means there's crossover, which means that this person is probably wanted to be on the show in the past, finally is getting. their chance are they going to do too much for the youngans coming in they've definitely watched vanderpump
Starting point is 00:21:30 they definitely know stossie jacks sandibald schwartz these personalities that were nuts especially back in the day right and like that was what was so good about vanderpum is there wasn't a show on like that and it was raw like you're watching these people do all the stupid shit and you're like whoa this is crazy we're used to that now and i'm afraid that they're going to try to replicate the early years of van der pump the original which is you can't like you can't capture that moment again i need these to be standalone i don't want to watch the show and go oh there's the stasi and jacks of the group oh there's schwartz and sandoval i don't want to be able to draw comparisons and i know that's what everybody's going to do we did it with southern hospitality
Starting point is 00:22:13 for i this season yeah we did in the first season and then both of us after that we're like we can't keep going back because it's its own show now it's not vanderpump rules but I'm afraid that we're going to try to do too much to replicate the magic that was the early Vanderpump days and to give them a little bit of a break they have very big shoes to fill so I could see a lot of them thinking that they have to do that going into this first season like I got to make a splash
Starting point is 00:22:42 got to make a name for myself this is my chance to be Stasi this is my chance to be Jax this is my chance to get rich who knows imagine your chance to be Jax you know well like Marcel from fucking villa he definitely wanted to be jacks so it's not that crazy there are a lot of idiots out there but that's where i get hesitant to really be like oh hell yeah new vanderpump rules now where my other 50% is the positive 50% agreed on all fronts as far as like the lisa of it all again that they've worked there is actually a positive if it doesn't go the direction that i'm
Starting point is 00:23:16 thinking and the other part of this is if we're able to have a show that has the blueprint of a Vanderpump rules with people not trying to replicate the old people of the past, it's going to be a banger because this show works, right? We've seen this model. I will do the Southern hospitality comparison only for that first season because that was our only comparison to draw. And it worked. And it was similar in the first season. It has done its own thing since. It is not the same style of show at all. But the first season, it was similar. And it worked. And we talked about it a lot. And we reference it all the time as far as taking a model, that works and trying to do that somewhere else.
Starting point is 00:23:56 They don't do that or they hadn't done that until we've started seeing these one-off shows start to come out and the new franchises come out. So I'm excited that they actually took something that has worked in the past and we're like, let's rework this and do it again. Great. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. So those are the reasons that I'm like, okay, there's a lot of reasons that should work. Sure, there's plenty of reasons it won't.
Starting point is 00:24:17 But there's enough there for me to be like, okay, completely unbiased going in. not like hell yeah i'm not like hell no i'm going to go in neutral and it's your job to sell me on this show cast make me fall in love with you i like it i will say one thing i do not want to see i can already see sheena trying to get involved taking pictures of the cast or something um yeah i i already know and i just have to temper my expectations because i already know we're going to get some cameos we're going to get some drop-ins from some of the other people i'm sure fucking peter still works there actually, so he's probably Hey, hey, hey, don't disparage Peter.
Starting point is 00:24:57 He willingly, he willingly stepped away from the show. Allegedly. Allegedly. Yeah. Also, like, we, remember when we got invited to his truck outside of BravoCon a couple years ago? We didn't get invited to his truck outside of
Starting point is 00:25:10 BravoCon. It was like L'Oreal or somebody was throwing an event on a bus that he was hosting. So he was still hosting an event at a Bravo thing? Because they paid him money to go do that. Sounds like he's, him back into the role.
Starting point is 00:25:24 I'm not going to hear Peter Slander. That guy has stayed out of the limelight for the most part and didn't have to. All he did was talk about his days in, sir. I don't. Peter Madrigal doesn't deserve to get shit. He's been on podcast recently talking about them. What a weird thing better. I think he always,
Starting point is 00:25:41 I think he wanted the limelight and then everybody else got really famous. He didn't. And then he got really scored. That's my take on Peter. He's done nothing negative in the press. He's on this show that he wants the limelight. you have to agree with that yeah but there's been no mention of peter and the other part is that he's been the manager there that's a different story like for what if that's like the big reveal
Starting point is 00:26:02 it's like episode three and it's like you got to go talk to somebody and they've got like dramatic music and he's walking upstairs and it's Peter at the top of the steps now he's the general manager just the manager gm peter that would be funny for about a second i did used to call him creepy Pete so that's not super nice yeah i'm just saying like he hasn't done shit recently like leave him alone. He just took a stray for no reason. You're in the trailer. He wasn't in the trailer.
Starting point is 00:26:28 That's true. I'm going to be more pissed off if we get. Actually, I don't know. I don't know. Like, that's where it's tough. You're getting nostalgic, aren't you? Yeah, you know, because the crossover of it,
Starting point is 00:26:40 here it is. If it's a one-off scene, someone bops in to Sir has a drink and they chat for two minutes, great. That's enough. I don't need the mentors coming in. Here's how you do it. it kid let me show you the I don't need that what I really need is sad Schwartz drinking by himself
Starting point is 00:26:57 at the end of the bar that'd be great that would be true I don't need to see a lot of sand of all but then part of me he's like he's been good on everything he's been on recently I know I went through those mental gymnastics a couple of months ago or I'm like it wouldn't be the worst thing if you popped up on the valley would it I mean think here's the thing we're not like oh my god that would be so good that would be so good right like here's he redeemed himself on traitors and if you i'm not saying he's a good dude by any means he's still a piece of shit but you cannot watch that season of traders and not say that he was highly entertained so if he scrolls back in so honestly there's
Starting point is 00:27:42 only a few people that if they did venture back in this sir that i'd be like get the fuck off my screen and that's la la schina brock um um don't really need Brittany back on that one. She's doing just fine in the alley. That's not like Britney hate. It's just we don't need to do too much here. Those four for me, I'd be like, okay, what are we doing? Why are we doing this?
Starting point is 00:28:05 The rest, if it's a quick one-off scene, like, I'm cool. I can agree with that. Now, we can end this on, I think it's going to be a lover. It's not a high note. I just don't think it is. And I've been seeing a lot of love for it, which is bizarre. People have very short memories. They're paying them.
Starting point is 00:28:25 They're paying them. The trailer dropped. They're going to be premiering on December 4th, so two days after the VPR. It's going to be a very busy week. The trailer dropped. We obviously knew that Rachel Zoe was getting involved. We obviously knew that Garcel was no longer there. I don't, the people that are online saying that they're hopeful for this, or, whoa, look,
Starting point is 00:28:48 it looks like Eric is activated. Whoa, look, it looks like Doreet carried over some of that energy that she had last year. And she's going to be an even bigger spot. Maybe Kyle will take a step back. None of these things are going to happen. These people who are hopeful, and I'm so sorry if you're listening and you're one of those people who are hopeful for Beverly Hills. You're wrong. There's no reason to be.
Starting point is 00:29:08 There just simply is no reason to be. We're going to get the same shit from Kyle. Eric is going to check out. Kathy's going to pop up every once in a while. She gets more and more senile seeming every year. And she's not really. She's very aware of what's going on. But she pops in here and there for a funny moment.
Starting point is 00:29:23 And the rest of it is just, I don't care. I simply just don't care about what's going on in Kyle's life. She's figuring out if she wants to date guys or girls. Okay, so you're finally opening up about that. That's cool. We needed that two seasons ago. Doing it now is too little too late. Doreen having a sit down with Mauricio, that's bizarre.
Starting point is 00:29:44 It's bizarre. It's going to be a very weird conversation. And you can't convince us that you two aren't bang in. because I think you are. I think you have been. The only silver lining that I saw from the whole thing, one of them, which is kind of funny, there was seemingly no Sutton.
Starting point is 00:30:01 We got no Sutton the whole time. Just glances over to her. Until the very end when she has a little tiff with Tilly, Tilly being a full-time housewife is huge. I think she's full-time. I actually, no, I take that back. I don't think she's full-time, actually, because I just-
Starting point is 00:30:15 That's a huge misstep by Bravo. I just saw the picture. the full-timers are Rachel, Sutton, Bose, Erica, Doreet, Amanda, who I don't know who the fuck Amanda even is, Amanda Francis, I had to look her up, and Kyle. So Tilly, still not full-time. Tilly was in every fucking scene of the trailer. If you're using a friend of, and I know she's a star, but if you're using a friend of to try to draw us in the trailer because all of the best moments are from your friend of, that's not a good sign. it's just not a good sign no it's not at all and the fact that you weren't smart enough to lock tilly down the only thing i could see is if she doesn't have time because she doesn't need the money as we know but entertainment value wise she's the best cast member on that show right now and it's not even
Starting point is 00:31:05 close and so by not doing that already pisses me off because it shows me that they're really not trying to reshuffle this show for success they're just trying to do what they think is best rather and listen to the audience that pisses me off and then on top of that and i'm curious if you had the same takeaway but when your trailer is trying to highlight how great this season's going to be by highlighting trips you're highlighting locations you're not highlighting moments you're saying they're going to sedona they're going to italy they're going here they're going there i don't I know Miami trailer and they in I think the Milan one was like a bit of a false flag because we were only there for a day. But they do it now a lot more.
Starting point is 00:31:48 And you might be right about that because when they do it for like Salt Lake and they do it for Miami for their trailers, we get excited. We're like, oh, shit. Yeah, they've got some money. They're traveling. They're doing this and that and it's going to be so much fun. But when they do it for a bad show, I agree with you. I think they're just highlighting the locations that they're going to. Like, look at us.
Starting point is 00:32:05 We're going. And the funny thing about that is. The first two locations were Sedona and what was the other one? There was another one that was like Continental U.S. And my first thought was. Oh, the Hamptons. I can't remember the Hampton. Yeah, it was the Hamptons and that it was Sedona.
Starting point is 00:32:19 My first thought was who got arrested. Who can't leave the state? Because we did that for years with Jersey. And we did it for years with Salt Lake with Jen Shaw. So I immediately think, who got arrested? Do we miss something about what's going on here? But then obviously they do go out of the country. So whatever.
Starting point is 00:32:36 I just, I don't know. Rachel looked pretty good to go from Hot Girl Summer to I just wanted to have a Hot Girl Summer is very funny I just don't think the combination of New Blood with Rachel and Tilly being involved a lot more
Starting point is 00:32:53 is going to change and break the stigma because your core group refuses to fucking do anything and that's the biggest problem that Beverly Hills has So to play devil's advocate I will and you know what I'll do that in a minute
Starting point is 00:33:05 I don't want to do it yet I don't want to do it yet. You're not ready yet. I have more to say. Now, because to somebody's comment about, now, Doreet's bringing that energy, if you remember that energy was tired after the first half of the season, that shit was played out and forced. It wasn't like she was landing A-makers.
Starting point is 00:33:23 We gave her so much credit, Cigarette Doreet, we were giving her all the props in the world. That was great. And how she came into the season was great. She faded quickly and she plummeted. her stock went to the bottom as far as erika getting involved or activated i can clip 30 of those same scenes from the past two seasons but what plays after that is nothing it doesn't follow up anything she doesn't do anything afterwards she goes to redecorate her house which is fine on a show that has a lot of other people bringing it this show doesn't have that
Starting point is 00:34:01 we also watched a lot of weird shit at the reunion like i don't know where the friendships are right now i don't know who actually likes who if it's a tilly and sutton split that's interesting you know i mean her like i don't know after on the heels of the sutton garsell split which was just fucking boring and like i understand why garcell moved on and obviously she moved on from the show and she's not friends with sutton anymore you just you don't get anything out of sutton for that and if that becomes a something of a centerpiece for the season you're in big trouble because anything that has to do with Sutton being a centerpiece is always, always bad.
Starting point is 00:34:39 It just never works. And it's always more of me shining a light on the rest of the cast. How can you allow this for Sutton who, she has like good moments here and there, but most of the time she ends up getting pushed into the middle and it's boring and stupid. If we're going to do this again and we're going to have Sutton in the middle of things again, I don't want to watch. I just don't want to watch because it never works. No, that's a good point.
Starting point is 00:35:04 and you know with the other stuff too it's not these aren't revelations of new events this was the same trailer from last year with two new people in it yeah we got mo and kyle kyle's crying we got sutton not getting along with a friend we got dureate getting activated again and and telling kathy that she's done we saw that we've seen all of this this trailers are repeat of what we just watched it's like they took the the few moments that they clicked last year and they're like I'm going to do this again. Don't do that because that leads to bad TV. I need,
Starting point is 00:35:38 we need Kyle to open up completely. Okay. And again, that seems like a layup. That was a big issue two years ago. Last year, you're a little more open about your journey and trying to figure it out, which we actually commended you for.
Starting point is 00:35:51 It seems like the obvious next step to be like Brad or Angelina. Like, okay, that's, we're there. But again, same storyline. It's Morgan Wade without Morgan Wade. right so what are we looking forward to what are we trying to find in that trailer that is any
Starting point is 00:36:09 different than what we've seen newbies coming in the group doesn't get along with them and like the two newbies like yes you guys really did push the fact that rachel was coming back great that's awesome she looks like she can handle herself they buried the lead with this amanda person they didn't even announce that she was going to be joining and now she's a full-time housewife and there's another friend of i think her name is natalie they I'm just going to classify as Amy the Utah socialite because why not? That's what I'm going to use for all of these people. It just doesn't seem like they're going to do anything different.
Starting point is 00:36:42 And what I need, like you just said, open up. I need you guys to show us your lives. And then I also need a real actual feud with somebody of the remaining Fox Force 5. I need Doreet, Kyle, and Erica to actually have a real feud and make me believe it. Make me believe that you guys are actually pissed at each other and go through it while also sharing what's going on in your lives. And I don't think that's ever going to happen. No, and then you dissect some of the scenes. It's like, okay, Rachel's back.
Starting point is 00:37:14 What's she going to do? She's going to traumatize her kids on TV by telling them that she's getting divorced. Yeah. Like, that's what you're teeing off with. We've discussed this before. There's things that we shouldn't be privy to. And especially when there's kids involved, rule number one, leave the kids out of it. and in the trailer
Starting point is 00:37:32 you're going to have her telling her kids that she's getting a divorce from their father and then like a sad hug with her son that's a bold move and again what that tells me there's not a lot here if you're going to use what would have been a pretty big bomb to drop
Starting point is 00:37:47 is watching that scene not welcomed by the way I don't want to watch that scene but we're going to but that's a pretty big reveal and you're using that in the trailer Bose and Keely I guess they're engaged now, too, which popped up on my, when I was trying to watch the trailer.
Starting point is 00:38:03 So congrats. But, you know, the big reveal about potentially we know they're trying to get pregnant. Like all these big things where it's like, if they're cliffhangers, weird cliffhanger, to use those two instances. And also, these are probably pivotal moments that you're building towards in some sort of storyline. I'm sure we're going to hear about it early on and then get to it. So why are we dropping these big moments early on and you pair that with trip, trip, trip, trip, trip, trip, trip, you guys don't have anything. There's nothing here. That's where my head goes.
Starting point is 00:38:40 And it's not like the PR where I'm like, oh, you know, I'm hesitant because of this. Right. Beverly Hills has been consistently shitty for four years now. Why would it change now? No, that's a really good point. I thought you were going to play devil's advocate. I said I'm going to eventually. I have to put his in first.
Starting point is 00:38:58 I need the nicotine to calm me down. From the parents behind law and order comes a mystery the whole family can enjoy. Patrick Pickle Bottom, Everyday Mysteries. Step into the whimsical world of Patrick Picklebottom, a precocious 11-year-old with a love for reading and an uncanny ability to solve mysteries. Starting point is 00:39:49 From the darkest corners of our imagination comes a game show that's more ridiculous than Terrifying. Welcome to Tickled to Death. I'm your host, Roz Hernandez, and I'll be guiding guests through the creepy questions and chaotic games, all to win the ultimate title of horror movie champion. Listen to Tickled to Death, wherever you get your podcasts, and hit follow, unless you want the show to follow you. Hey, Michael. Hey, Tom. Well, big news to share it, right?
Starting point is 00:40:26 Yes, huge, monumental, earth-shaking. Heartbeat sound effect, big. Mait is back. That's right, after a brief snack nap. We're coming back. We're picking snacks? We're eating snacks. We're raiding snacks. Like the snackologist we were born to be.
Starting point is 00:40:44 Mates is back. Mike and Tom, eat snacks. Wherever you get your podcast. Unless you get them from a snack machine, in which case, call us. Well, honestly, I really just don't see how anybody can get excited for this franchise. There's just no reason. Like, I've said it for years now. The only people that are happy and enjoy watching this franchise are people who aren't on social media.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Yeah, I agree. It trashes this every year. And every year, it's the same shit. Oh, are we going to get some more? This trailer looks good. It looks like the girls are back. They're not. They're never back.
Starting point is 00:41:21 I just don't understand it. So here's devil's advocate. All right. I'll do my best here because it's kind of hard. There's not a lot to latch on to. But if Erica is activated throughout the season, that's a bonus for us. That's a big positive. When she's on, she's great.
Starting point is 00:41:37 She is great. She hasn't been there the past few years. I understand all the Erica stands out there last year. Like, oh, give her a break. She was doing so much. Shut up. She needs to do something this year. And I hope she does.
Starting point is 00:41:50 And I, like I just said, massive Erica Jane fan when she's doing her job. When she's on, she's phenomenal at it. So I'm hoping that we get that back. Now with Doreet, what I need from her and what could be a good season, I would love if she continues to be open about the PK situation, like that was one positive from last year. Keep shitting on him because fuck that guy. But I need her to be real without thinking that now that she's gotten this different persona about her, that she needs to double and triple down on that.
Starting point is 00:42:26 If she actually is able to stand alone from Kyle, but the storyline's not her being mad at Kyle, it's just simply Dorit's on her own. I'm curious what that looks like. That could be interesting to watch. That's a different, something different. Now, with the Garcel leaving of it all, that's really hard to spin into a positive for me,
Starting point is 00:42:48 because something without her. I don't think it's going to get mentioned. No, no, which I understand. I'm saying her just not being there, period, not mentioning anything like that. Like I'm curious how that's going to affect the show because now it pretty much lays on the shoulders of the two newcomers, one of them obviously returning, but Garcell would call people out. We don't really have that as far as like going against the Fox Force 5 or the remaining members of it. We don't have that person now.
Starting point is 00:43:23 Sutton's not going to do it. Tilly's not going to do it. Bose is part of the group now, so she's not going to do it. So I don't know if putting that on a newcomer is going to give us the right result. But I will say, because it seems like she ruffled feathers, at least from the trailer, if we get a good new villain out of this, and by villain, I put that in quotations, because villain just means that the mean girls aren't getting along with her. That could be interesting, too.
Starting point is 00:43:55 That could be a positive where you have somebody come in because I was hoping Bose would do this last year, but she ended up folding and joining Team Kyle. If you have somebody that is willingly going after them throughout the season is not hampered by them being mean back to her and is able to stand alone and keep moving forward without getting affected by the Fox Force 5 or remaining members, that could make a totally different season and a very good season. I would love to see that group rattled, but normally when we see them rattled, they get their way. If I could see them rattled and unable to rein in a newcomer, that could be a positive as well. I just don't think they care as much.
Starting point is 00:44:36 They just simply don't care. If somebody wants to be a villain and they want to just go against the grain, it never really affects them. Like, yeah, they get rattled in a moment, but then they just take a step back and just continue going all with their lives. It's never a point of emphasis. the difference would be and this is where again for a newbie it's a big ask especially on this franchise because you got some big personalities but if if this newbie can win us over if we can fall in love with the newcomer so we're rooting for and she's going against them that is a recipe for success because we will want to watch her journey throughout the season if it's more
Starting point is 00:45:16 of the same of what we've seen somebody tries to go against them it doesn't doesn't pan out, they end up joining the crew or just leaving the show. That's boring to me. But if we can get, we need a new Fox Force 5 on the other side. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think that's a lot to ask, obviously. And that's when we get into very weird waters when we're respecting, respecting a newcomer
Starting point is 00:45:42 enough to be like, hey, can you, can you do this for us? Can you, exactly. Can you change the tone of this whole group? right and that's where you know i'm playing devil's advocate here of what could make this a decent season the odds of that actually happening are slim to none for me because of who controls this show because of who produces this show because of all of these different reasons that lead me to believe if fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me fool me thrice fuck you fool me four times four times i don't watch you anymore well we're gonna have to there's no way around
Starting point is 00:46:24 that one buddy i don't know i but like here's the one part of me that loved this show when it was good that would love to see it return back in its heyday after watching melissa gorga wife swap after we got i told you we have like the bravo vault playing on samson tv out there yeah seeing some of those moments from New York, New Jersey, O.C. back in the day. I know you've been diving back into O.C a little bit this season. I miss those franchises. Miami's great. I love Miami. I think it's a phenomenal show. Salt Lake is gold. There is always and forever going to be something about New York, New Jersey, O.C. and Beverly Hills that you just want to come back to it. There's a comfort in there. And it's been so disappointing to see where those shows have gone that I don't
Starting point is 00:47:19 want to root against this. I want this to be good. I really want this to be good. I want Jersey to figure out a way forward. I want all these things to happen. I think every single Bravo fan out there does because the temperature of housewives right now across the board is a lot of people aren't watching it anymore. And that sucks. So we need one of these mainstays to finally click, to finally come back and to finally be good again. And I feel like it'll cause a Housewives renaissance. I feel like it'll jumpstart everything if you can just get one of the heavy hitters to return to form.
Starting point is 00:47:51 And I don't know how they do that. They don't know how to do that, clearly. But if we can figure that out, if something clicks in this season of Beverly Hills to even give us hope, I feel like we're moving in the right direction. And I also feel like that is far too much to ask. It's way too much to ask, honestly. And I don't see it happening. but we'll wait and see.
Starting point is 00:48:12 Actually, you know what? We might not have to wait and see that long because I think we already have the screener for it. So if you really want to watch it, yeah, actually I take that back almost immediately because I don't think we do. But we'll figure it out and try to see what we can do moving forward.
Starting point is 00:48:28 I don't know, man. We'll have to see. But, I mean, that's all the news. That was a good trailer breakdown at least. It wasn't very hopeful, but you try. Well, the first one was hopeful. Yeah. VPR.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Yeah. I know I said 50-50, but that's pretty good for a trailer. Yeah. Yeah, Beverly Hills, who the hell knows? Who the hell knows? But, you know, as the news comes out, we'll throw a news episode together for you guys, because that's what we do here. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:59 Because we're journalists and lawyers. We have integrity. Lots of integrity. Well, that's all I got. You got anything else? Nope. Well, that's our show. Brof bro's got to go. Hey. Hey, yo.
Starting point is 00:49:15 There are vampires out there. They walk among you, shoulder to shoulder in the dark. Heading to work, heading home, going to the bar. It's a life just like anyone else's. And I have grown used to it. To the darkness, to the moon, to the taste of blood on my tongue. But vampires are dying out. We are a fading kind.
Starting point is 00:49:35 And I am the first one created in so long. And that is a dangerous thing to be. And for myself, and for grace who created me, that is a sword that hangs above our heads. And the worst person of all carries our secret, and he will use it, however he sees fit.
