Bros & Shows - Is RHONY on the Ropes? (RHONY Full Recap)
Episode Date: October 10, 2024What's up Bros? As you know, we are supporters of the new RHONY, and dammit we want this show to succeed. But in this second episode its become more and more evident that we are not getting authentici...ty from this cast. It appears as though everyone wants to portray an image of who they want us to see, rather than who they actually are. For Housewives shows to succeed we need to see it all, the good, the bad and the ugly, and we are simply not getting that. In this episode, Brynn's issues with the rest of the group are shining through. Sai is still upset that she told Jenna she hated her. Jenna appears to be over it but Sai is turning over a new leaf as a happier nicer persona and doesn't want this to drag her down. Erin is upset with Brynn for attempting to throw a wrench into her friendship with Jenna. Although we get some behind the scenes shade from Jenna who tells Brynn she was 'quick to forgive' Erin. It appears that the damaged ego of Brynn for forgiving Erin too quickly was the route of the drama between those two. Again, if you're gonna be shady Jenna, do it on camera... Erin and Abe hash it out over bitcoin and year long lies. It is a pretty major issue that doesn't garner that big of a conversation and again we get tid bits but not the whole story. Rebecca Minkoff, resident scientologist, gets questioned about her religion and that could be an interesting story line moving forward. Ubah has decided to take 10 steps back from Brynn because she doesnt trust her anymore. Which could lead to a fun feud. But the overall sentiment is that this cast is so close to having palapable on screen drama, but they refuse to go the extra mile in fear of coming off the wrong way to the audience. That is just not the correct recipe for a succesful Housewives show. Like the Bros content but NEED MORE?! Oh man, it's 8 o'clock.
And so that'll make it a...
I don't need the spotlight.
Hi, I'm Karma, and yes, I am a bitch.
Brov Bros.
Good afternoon, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of Brab Bros, your favorite podcast from the Brows for everybody.
For whoever wants to listen, I am your co-host, Steel Russell, joined as always by the one and only last chance McGants.
What's up, dude?
Well, look, I mean, the weather's getting a little chilly out.
It was actually really nice this morning.
It was in the 50s, got a little coffee, went hot coffee.
I've been doing ice coffee for a long time.
and you know what the fall weather reminds me of it reminds me of primetime new york it reminds me of
roney in its prime i don't know why but it's just something that i think about and unfortunately
this show is a little boring for me yeah yeah the show is a little boring and this was better than
the premiere i'll give them that but we talked about it on either salt lake or oh see i'm not sure which
one uh the more that we've both kind of we've had sidebars on roney uh the more we discussed it i think
my biggest issue that i'm having with it and this episode rings true with that as well
everybody on this show is so afraid to show us who they actually are they want this idea of who
they are where they're painting a picture of this is how i am and i want to get the real raw emotions
if you're a mess be a fucking mess if you're not don't be but i need to see
see who you actually are. Everyone's trying to portray this image of what they want the audience to
see or what they think the audience wants to see. You don't have to do that. Some of the greatest
housewives, look at your predecessors. Roney at its peak was mayhem because those women did not
give any fucks. And look, we have said multiple times, if people still watch the OGs and didn't
criticize them, they would not have rebooted the show. So I'm not here on that stance of bring back
the OGs. I'm saying take a note from your predecessors. They didn't give a fuck. They were so 100%
themselves to the point that it got them off of TV. But at their prime were some of the best
housewives in the history of Bravo. So if you're going to come on this show, I get it. It's a new
generation. I get it. You're a little bit different, how we communicate is a little bit different
than the previous generation. But you cannot come on this show with a preconceived notion of what
the audience wants to see and try to portray that rather than give us the genuine person that you
are. Be yourself and watch what happens. We would respond so much better to genuine moments,
to authentic moments than this fabricated bullshit that I'm watching now two weeks in a row.
Yeah, no, I fully agree. I just feel like nobody's bringing it. And that's the real problem.
And we, this episode was very weird in particular because somebody who we both really like,
somebody who we feel like can be the center of attention on this show in Jessel was in it for like
three minutes a helicopter ride and they did they really think that this whole episode was just going
to circulate around Aaron and Bryn making up or talking about their shit like even that just felt
really weird because there was no real resolution it just seemed like two people that were too
afraid to actually get into it and Bryn wasn't making a whole lot of sense there's Uba who we've talked
about last year we talked about this year she just doesn't show enough of her actual life and it seems
like there's a lot there it seems like there's a lot there and jenna going out with her family in
this episode seems really nice but again there's not a lot there like i don't care like yes a big
a big part of this show is showing how much money you have big part of housewives in general
the bentley scene was dope are you the bentley team was sick that was awesome that was it though that
was 30 seconds yeah and that's it like it's not enough to sustain us those are the things
that we look for in the background, the things that we just get to gawk at and say,
well, holy shit, that's awesome.
But there has to be more going on.
There has to be palpable drama.
There has to be people just sticking their head in the sand and saying, no, this is who I am.
I'm not going to change.
I don't give a shit what you think about me.
Correct.
It's like we talked about this in season one, how things were resolved quickly.
And early in the season, we were okay with that because it was a bit of a change of pace.
It was more like, wow, we're moving on to a different generation where people are actually
hearing each other out and noticing feelings.
thinking about other things.
I don't think that's the case at all.
I think they're all so afraid of tainting their public image that it just doesn't seem
organic.
It doesn't seem real.
It's not authentic.
And that's part of it.
And look, you said that this episode was a little bit better.
I'm actually more bored this episode than I was last episode.
Interesting.
I think just because like the Abe and Aaron conversation, that I was like, okay, finally, like,
this is some real shit.
It's not the most captivating shit in the world, but okay, this is a real
conversation. What's up? It is real shit. It is definitely real shit. I felt like Abe was being
more real than Aaron. If that was a real conversation, I expected Aaron to absolutely bite his
head off and throw him under the bus, talk about all the shit that he was doing. She just alludes to
it seems like you're hiding more stuff. What is he hiding? Correct. I'm sorry, but if you're going to
bring that up on camera and talk about he's hiding stuff, tell us specifically what he's hiding and then
show us how you actually feel about it. It doesn't seem like he is. It seems like we're getting to a
quick resolution saying, oh, yeah, me and Aber going through some shit. He sold Bitcoin years
ago and you wanted to use it to sell or to pay off mortgage. That's a huge deal. I'm not,
I'm not downplaying that part of it. But you allude to there's so much more here. And I found out
so many other things that you were hiding from me. What are they? It seems like you're really
upset about it. And if you're going to continue to tell us the audience and everybody else around
you that you're going through a lot, like yes, you're going to show the scenes with your mom,
which is very nice and heartfelt,
but you say that there's more under the surface here with Abe,
what is it?
Are we going to get to that?
Or are you going to continue to hide that because of what he's hiding?
And you don't want people to look at you differently.
Like, it just seems weird.
Like, they're just afraid.
We don't want cliff notes on your lives.
Like, you're on this show to show your lives.
And it can be messy.
It can be wealthy.
It can be whatever it is.
But just show it.
Jessol did that last year for the most part.
And that's why she was one of the stars.
It was like, yeah, we didn't like her in the beginning, but she was herself in the beginning.
Was she a mess?
Yeah, was she annoying?
Yeah, but that was her.
And then it grew into a character that we really liked because you felt the genuineness of it.
Whereas everybody else, I'm like, like you said it perfectly.
They're so concerned about their public image, whether that be for their business, for their relationships.
I don't know what they're concerned about impacting.
But if you're going to take on the role of the Rony Housewives, I'm not saying be the OGs.
I think you need to be yourselves.
But what you can take away from that generation is be yourself.
That's why they were so entertaining because they did not care.
You have to get to that point if you want to be successful.
And they're simply not doing it right now.
And that's the end of it.
But let's jump into this episode.
We start out with Aaron and her mom.
They're getting a haircut or they got a haircut.
Now they're doing a wig try on as her mom's going.
going through her third week of chemo, and it's a very touching scene. And it's nice to see
Uba and Aaron mend the fence from last year. I do like when those two are together, when they're
actually discussing things. But again, we're getting just kind of sprinkles and tidbits of things going
on. And we're still stuck on the Aaron thing because Aaron's upset at Bryn for going to Jenna
about the money thing. Brin's upset at Aaron for not saying anything on the Jeff Lewis podcast.
And I think that points to the lack of validity of this season.
Yeah.
Because that's such a sticking point.
But we've watched this scene of the Jeff Lewis podcast now three or four times.
She says, no.
Does she have a sugar daddy?
Or is somebody taking care of her?
No.
You know what?
I've actually reformulated my problem with that because I agree the last week.
She didn't do anything wrong.
Like, what do you wanted to do?
Go after Jeff Lewis.
Me, actually, if she's a good housewife,
if this show is good, you need to pick aside.
You either need to lean into what Jeff is saying and be shady so that then you can actually
have a real thing going on with Britain here, not just a, oh, you didn't stick up for me and
I'm mad at you.
Well, I understand why you're mad at me because I didn't stick up for you and I should have
said something in that moment because we are true friends.
Oh, isn't that nice?
A big resolution at the end of it.
That's kind of boring TV.
Either stay firmly in the stance of, yeah, you know what, Jeff?
Maybe you're right.
I haven't really thought about that.
but we'll go after him maybe we'll find out or go right back at jeff because jeff can handle it he's been doing
this for so long and you know what that would make for a really good snippet going into this season
like yeah i stood up against jeff lewis for you and it looks really good for you as a housewife
aaron she didn't do either in those things she was neutral she just sat just sat there and took it
so i get i'm not even mad at britt anymore for bringing it up because i'm mad at erin for not
picking aside that's fair the neutrality of it but my whole point is she did say no was where i'm
like for brin to get stuck on it this long is my thing where it's like all right dude she did say no
could she have like you said done more definitely and you're right that would have played very well
with the audience like oh Aaron's not afraid of jeff lewis like yeah maybe next season is going to be
a little bit different that's actually that's that's good i like that but it's moments like this
where you get a confession from air and she's like you know janet did open up and said money was a little bit
dry, all right. Take that approach then. Tort your friendship with Jenna and
fucking go after it. Fuck it. You guys will make up again eventually. That's what
reunions are for. Figure it out. But you can't constantly give us a tidbit and then reel
it in. And Aaron's done it multiple times at the end of the episode when they're talking about
Scientology. She drops a John Travolta line and goes, oh, can't talk about that. Two times
in two weeks, she's reel to back in. It doesn't matter. My point is she keeps doing this where
she says something in a confession and goes, oh, I can't talk about that. It's like,
then you're not doing your job.
Don't bring it up or come with something that you can talk about.
And she did, you're right.
She did that with Abe last week.
There's a lot more here.
There's more here, but I'm not ready to get into that.
Why?
Correct.
You have a confessal.
Confess.
That's how it works.
I know.
I know.
And in this scene,
we get an allusion to Abe's hiding something.
What's going on?
So I'm like,
well, hopefully we get that pay off this episode, which we did.
But it's just a lot of just a sprinkle here, a sprinkle there,
but you never get the full cookie.
You know, and I'm hungry.
Yep.
You got me.
I can go, you're right now.
But we get to Jenna and Cy, and they're not, it's more the same.
It's just more the same.
And, you know, Sy's on this healing journey, allegedly.
And she's talking about how she doesn't want to be so reactive.
And when Bryn told me that, or when I found out that Bryn told you, Jenna, that I hated you,
I got really upset because I didn't say that.
I said, I can't stand you.
which again, we're splitting hairs at the same fucking thing.
But Jenna coming back, this is what's so irritating.
They're so close to being captivating.
They're this close if they just go the next step and say, fuck it.
Because she goes, actually, it wasn't just Bryn.
Other people have said that.
Yep.
Keep going.
Tell her who.
Yes.
Who else is talking shit.
Because now Cy's going to have a vendetta against multiple women in the group.
That changes things.
That's a really good point.
Yeah, because that would be good for both of them because, look, this healing journey that
Sye is on is not going to play very well for the show.
I'm sorry, but where she is right now, like, I don't really need Sye.
If the rest of the women on this show were delivering and doing well, I think Sye going back
and forth and doing whatever, she doesn't have to be center apple.
She doesn't have to be the person who's involved in everything that we're rooting for or
rooting against.
She can just be a part of it.
But in this current show, Sye doesn't really work.
You don't need a personality like Sye because you need somebody who's going to show up and no one is showing up.
Nobody showing up.
So going through a healing journey means absolutely nothing to me and you're a thousand percent right.
This could have played so well for both of them.
If Jenna dropped who else was talking shit and talking about Sye, that would be good because then all of a sudden it's like, oh, Jenna, all right, you're showing up.
You're getting a little shady.
You're throwing a couple people under the bus.
And then you can sit there with a smirk on your face and watch as Sye goes through everything in her head.
And for Sy, that could bode really well for you, because now you have a litany of people to go after.
You can go after anybody.
And I'm sure that she's the type of person that keeps dirt on people that wants to use it in certain times.
And the healing journey just goes right out the window.
Because now you realize that other people are talking about you, you don't need to heal anymore.
You need to go after these people.
That works really well for Cy.
And instead, like you said, we just kind of stop right there.
It's just over and we're done with it.
It's like, okay.
And we're done with it.
I'm not like, who?
Wait, hold on.
What do you mean other people saying?
She just was like, okay, and then kept going.
It's a totally win.
It's just an absolute swing and a miss, yeah.
But that's what I'm seeing on this show that's more frustrating to me than them just not performing.
It's the fact that they are this close in moments to having the moment.
I'm like, dude, just say fuck it and keep going.
Just do it.
Like that's what this show is about.
I wish we were more optimistic that we could look at this in a different way and say,
they're so close to figuring it out and they're going to get there.
No, no, because there's no indication that they're going to.
And I don't want to bring them out the Phillies.
But honestly, every time that they have an opportunity like this,
they're just like Bryce Harper of the seventh with first and third and no outs.
You're sitting three out of the fucking zone.
You throw a fucking slider in the other batters box,
strike three with runners on first and second.
Don't get it.
Let's keep going.
Yeah.
God damn it.
I do like that they point out the fact that Bryn catches this or has this image of she's not mean.
at least last season like you know she's bubbly she says the wrong thing sometimes but she's not
malicious which you're starting to see through it already in the first two episodes that she does
have a mean side to her and they're starting to call that part out that's good like that i'm okay
with that was the right move and saying you know the carbon monoxide text is funny like she moves
silently and then she kills you okay great then if if what we're seeing out of brin the first
two episodes if this is your approach same thing you got to lean in
into it then you have to understand that you're not going to end this season with a whole lot of
friends but you might do a lot for your housewives career if that's the route you want to take
and that would be good for the show i don't think we're going to see that i think we're going to see
more backpedaling but it at least again gives you like oh maybe maybe probably not but maybe
they need coaches they need somebody there and usually we rule against people coaching other people
on shows because we want to make sure that it's organic these women cannot be organic they can't
just do this themselves they need somebody to sit all of them down and say hey
hey, if you get an urge to go the extra mile, just do it.
Who cares anymore?
It's failing.
It's boring.
It's dumb.
I don't want to do it anymore.
Just get in there and just throw something out and just see what happens because a lot of
these women are reactive.
We've seen that.
We saw it in the first season.
They reel it back in at some point.
But if you keep doing it, they're not going to keep reeling it in.
And it's going to create a huge cluster fuck that usually bodes well for TV.
And they're not doing any of that right now.
I agree.
I fully agree.
but we get to Raquel and Mel and Elle or Ellie and Corey.
I love everybody in this scene, by the way.
Did you?
Yeah, this is a fun crew.
I love Raquel and Mel.
I think they're awesome.
They're not even part of the rest of this show.
No, it has nothing to do with anything else.
They should purely have their own show, just spin off of Roney and just show me what they're up to because they're like is really interesting and I love them.
Yes, and not to cut you off, but to that point, you make a great point because it's very house,
wifey only because we're going over the dog's list of demands because she's a forensic neuropsychologist
which is what a crazy sentence to say that sounds awesome she psychoanalyzes the dog the dog
had to go to therapy for uh childhood trauma yep like that's really fucking funny and you look at this
bill this doctor's bill from the dog and it's like over a thousand dollars for maintenance
i'm like this is good this i'm here for but this is a complete
different show than Roney.
This has nothing to do with anything.
It's like we stepped into like a different show that we're just getting a trailer for
and then we went back to the main event.
It's like,
that seems so odd.
I can't wait for this show to come out.
This crew is is entertaining.
I'm curious as to what they're up to just because it was wacky.
I'm like, oh my God.
Like I like that little reprieve that we got there and it seems somewhat genuine.
I'm like, okay, at least this foursome here is doing their job.
Yeah.
For better or worse.
It has nothing to do with the rest of the show.
No, but this is an enjoyable scene at the very least.
To the point that we don't have to talk about it.
Like, that's it.
It was just good.
It was just fun.
It was, I enjoyed watching it.
I felt like I got a peek into their lives,
and I'm genuinely interested in what's going on over there.
And we got a little bit of that, and I have no notes.
I have zero notes.
It's just great.
Yep.

Yes, even there.
Are you looking for a movie review show where the critic is at the top of his or her game,
meticulously breaking down and explaining exactly why a film does or does not work?
Well, good luck with the search.
Because we're having fun here on Adam does movies.
Each and every week, I hit the big blockbusters, I cover the streamers,
and I even toss in some movie news for fun.
Check out the show on Spotify, on Apple Podcasts, on YouTube.
And hopefully, we can do movies together.
Hot.
But we get to Brin's apartment, and she's already being shady.
She emptied a bottle of water and filled it with tap.
I did think that was kind of funny.
And she goes, like, this bitch deserves tap.
That was funny.
I like that.
But this is one of those things where it's like, be careful what you say because you don't know what's going on.
Because when Aaron walks in, she goes, oh, you're going through something, your hair short.
I'm like, ooh, she really is.
And she did that in solidarity.
And if you were a better friend, you would know it was going on.
And you do know what's going on.
So it's even weirder that you made a hair comment knowing that her mom's going through chemotherapy.
Because you do know that.
So that's a weird move.
But the minute that they sit down, you can feel the tension.
They're not talking.
Brin's on her phone.
She didn't give two fucks about Aaron being there.
And that's where Aaron says, like, I'm not really sure what I did.
But we've talked about this whole thing, right?
These two going back and forth and the Jeff Lewis shit and all of that.
And they finally get to some kind of resolve based on, I'm not entirely sure, just they needed to talk it out.
Like, they just be next to each other.
Yeah, and maybe there was no background noise.
There was no distractions.
There was nobody yelling.
It just, the whole conversation, it didn't sound like a resolution, but they resolved it at the end.
It's just they wanted to hear the resolution, sorry.
No, yeah, it just struck me as two people that like hearing their own voices and just talking.
And once they were tired of talking or they felt like they said everything that they needed to say,
they're like, okay, we're good, right?
I don't get it.
I feel like the resolution came in when they realized where the anger came from, I guess.
It's not from what Aaron said necessarily or did not say.
It was the fact.
And this is again, and we've heard,
of this of this genel lions we've heard her in scenes that we don't see yeah off camera off
season where she's shade and she says some shit and you're like whoa why can't we see that
version of you if you're so concerned with your public image for your company your business whatever
then don't do the show yeah for her to say wow you forgave erin already that was pretty
quick that's what this whole thing was about because now brin's ego's hurt and now she's like oh
I don't want to be looked at like a bitch like fuck that I'm going after her show me
that Jenna show me the Jenna that's throwing that shit under the bus and be like ooh that
was really fast like shady comment walk away from it and watch the dust settle that's
that's a housewives move at the very least have jena sitting with the two of them right now
and answering for that get her because know what you see dude we saw it last week if jenna's
involved she just goes no no I didn't say that we're good like fuck oh come on you do
your job man like you are better than that yeah if you're not then don't be on the show but again this is
another instance once again you're this close jena go on camera with brin and stir that pot
see how we respond to that i want to watch you do that and then sit back and watch your gameplay
play out because you are being shady you're just not letting us see it and that's no better it's not
like we're not like oh jennas doing she you're being shady we know that so if you're going to be shady
and we're going to find out, do it on the camera so that we can enjoy it and like this show.
Believe it or not, even though we're not having a good review of this episode, both of us
want this show to be good.
This channel is better when Housewives shows are good.
Doesn't matter what franchise.
When the shows are good, Bravo is good.
When Roney and all of these other Housewives shows fall short, the rest of the network fall short.
This is the backbone of Bravo.
So we are not rooting for this show to be bad.
we're simply saying here's a layup you're doing it you're fucking doing it you're just not doing it on
camera and there's other moments where it's like wow if you just don't care right now and just
say it throw it out there that makes a good scene instead we're watching two people just go
back and forth and try to be ho-hum and it's fucking boring yeah now they're just way too careful
and i don't care for it and usually when we rag on shows and we rip them apart and we really
just genuinely do not enjoy watching it. This isn't really one of those. I'm just, I'm just noting
that I'm bored. And I know that it could be better. And usually we don't have answers. Usually
when we look at shows that are falling apart and crumbling from the inside, like a Rooney or a New
Jersey or O.C. last year, we don't have answers. We say you need to scrap the entire show.
That's us saying we don't know what the answer is, but this ain't working. We actually have
answers for this. We know exactly what they need to do. And I think that adds to why we're so
frustrated because it's there. The blueprint is there. Yes, maybe there's a couple of people
that are underperforming that you can swap out with someone else that might be able to mix it up
a little bit better than that person for sure. But the rest of them are doing stuff to a certain
extent. They're just not going that extra step that makes it a good show that makes it entertaining
that actually spills into a little bit of a messy show, which is what housewives are supposed to be.
They're not doing that. And we know that's exactly what they're not doing. So that's why we're so
frustrated but again we're holding out hope for it we're not pissed off about it we're just a little
frustrated right now yeah and that's what happens when that's the standard of the episode because we get
to a scene with jenna and her family i don't fuck i don't care i do not care that you guys are going
rock climbing this doesn't matter so irrelevant to me and embarrassing because it's like it's children
do this and the rock wall that they're climbing the rocks are this big i've never seen a rock wall with
I did like, my takeaway from this scene is only the cheese grating.
Like, you don't want to be on the cheese grater.
That's like go pizza to French try.
You're going to have a bad time.
That's exactly what I thought about.
Yeah, I know.
I know your brain works.
I got you, bro.
That's exactly what I was thinking.
That's the only takeaway from this.
And then we get to see the really cool Rolls Royce pull up.
That's sick.
If there was more on, then I would have appreciated it more.
I liked it.
I want to see more of that car.
And I want to see Jenna enjoy it.
But I need to see Jenna actually.
do her job as a good housewife before i can say all right jena you deserve that car right now she doesn't
deserve the car she is wealthy she has fuck it money enough to buy a two hundred and thirty four
thousand dollar bentley a 20 she brought a band like a 2024 bentley yep if you don't want to get
involved in the bullshit then lean into that yep show us how much fucking money you have and
hold it over the rest of the group be that person and she again
is your girlfriend or at least your girlfriend's mom like somebody but that's my whole point
and why they brought her back if this is what we're going to get i don't understand and i'm you know
me i love jena lions i want her to be good but i can't justify this because at the end of a scene
you give us something we want to see holy shit that's a dope car yep i don't care that you're rock
climbing with you can anything for the scene no she didn't talk about anything how many times do
we see housewives go out with their families go out with their kids and they're talking about
what other people on the show are doing or they're talking about an issue that they have.
And it's actually kind of funny because you get the kids involved and the kids are usually
like, I don't know, I have no idea what the fuck to tell you. That sounds insane. Or they get overly
involved. And that gets going to have some good takes. Yeah, seriously. Like get them involved
and talk about what's going on. Like, yes, there is sometimes when it's a really, and we've talked
about how dark these shows have gotten and how toxic they've gotten in the past couple of years,
we like the family scenes as a nice reprieve. But if there's nothing going on in the show and then you go
to a family scene and they're not talking about anything,
why do we need it?
Like, it's just a filler at that point.
Exactly.
If you're not delivering elsewhere,
these reprieve scenes are not necessary.
We need these scenes to take a deep breath when shit's getting heavy.
We talk about it all the time.
And that's the funniest part.
We enjoy them a lot of the time.
Like, oh, this was nice.
Like a little break away from that.
If the main storyline is nothing,
I don't need to see you do nothing.
Because I'm already watching you do nothing when you're supposed to be
performing for the show. So this scene just falls on flat ears. Flat eyes. Flat ears. Flat ears.
Flat ears. Falls on deaf ears. Def ears is the phrase. That's a real one, but that's still not the
flat ears. Flat earth. Scientology. We're about to get there. Abe and Aaron have their discussion.
We are going back to the Hamptons. As we know, it's not the cool part of the Hamptons. So Aaron,
you need to move to the cool part by the water.
I mean, who wants to be in the woods in the Hamptons, right?
Yep.
But we're going back east.
I didn't like the way that she said that.
That rubbed me the wrong way.
We're going to go back east.
Like, fucking east, where?
Like the ocean?
The Hamptons.
Of course.
Yeah.
That's what we're going to call it, sure.
Yeah, going back east.
But this was the only moment in the show, this episode.
I'm like, all right, at least this is real.
At least we're getting something.
Even if Abe was more genuine than Aaron was being or more forthcoming with it all,
we got to see an actual interaction.
to where I'm like, oh, here's the difference.
In this scene versus the other ones, I was paying attention the whole time because I wanted
to hear what was going on.
What was he hiding?
What happened?
I want all of the tea.
Give me the tea.
And the other scenes, they start talking.
I'm like, I can look at my phone right now and get the gist of what's going on.
Sye and Jenna talking at the table.
You guys are talking about Brynn, you're upset.
And Cy, you want to turn over a new leaf in your life and be nice.
And then we get a five-minute conversation saying the same thing.
this scene i'm like okay what's going on we find out that they had this sucks by the way
this really sucks i felt for him here because not him i felt for her here because she finds out
that you know they're going to pay off a big chunk of their mortgage because bitcoin i'm assuming
that this is within that when you know the retail stock market got insane and bitcoin made that
huge fucking jump and it's last year dude their their bitcoin portfolio i would imagine would have
been astronomical if they didn't sell when he sold because I'm assuming he sold in like the
20,000 or 30,000s and now it's doubled and tripled since then. I can't imagine checking your
bank account and being like, where to go. It's what the fuck? Like there should be a million dollars in
here and there's nothing. So well within your right to get upset. Yeah, it's a huge fucking deal,
especially because he's not only doing it with that. He's trying to move things around to cover
up financial issues trying to cover up failed businesses whether that's hers or his
i did like that he takes full accountability and he's like you know what i fucked up i was trying
to hide from you to not add to the stress i do believe i don't think he was trying to be
intentionally shady i think that what he was doing was just it was the domino effect he sold
the bitcoin that didn't work he did this he did that he did the other thing then she finds out
but like you said in the beginning of the episode that's just
the tip of the iceberg like what you did all this other stuff it's like okay again like she she
alludes to that by saying this was just the first thing that i found out and then i found out that
you were hiding a lot more what what what was it because if this is just something that you're
able to sit down at dinner and have a discussion about and not really get that upset about it not cry
not yell at him not do all of this have an actual or an actual situation where you guys actually
just go back and forth and talk about it and he's able to apologize for his part in it,
what else is there? Because it seems like there is so much more under the surface,
but we're not getting into it. And I do want to question, it seemed like Erin didn't really
know what was going on with her failed business. And there are still bills that needed to be
paid. So when he brought up the fact that he took the Bitcoin out to pay off those bills because
they were in debt, she didn't know that. And like she's confused too. It just sounds like,
business let's talk about that like gone yeah she talked about it last year but let's talk about
the failed businesses like let's talk about it you know what i mean it's bizarre to me that like we didn't
get further into any of this we just decided to talk about it and let abe just apologize for his part in it
and yeah that must have sucked like he did it years ago and never told you right that's big that's huge
what else is going on like what's he i don't know yeah i hope it comes out i mean again we pointed
to it last week. He has his own confessions. So twice. I'm sure there's now more. There's got to be more there if we're going to have to have him sit down and do a confessional. I don't know. It's just they're not delivering. There's not enough. No, there's not. But even in this scene, dude, we get more from her. And it's similar to what we had just seen. And that's what bothered me. Because she's like, you know, when we had started dating, I don't want to get married. I was flying around with. And she just hints at it. I'm like, okay, time out.
is this a situation like what brin was alleging or people are alleging about brim where somebody's
taking care of you may you flying around with somebody that that's paying your way i know that she
comes from a lot of money so it's not like she needs it who are you talking about that's interesting
did you used to bop around with a celebrity that we know that we want to hear about is like
that's what i'm like who the fuck knows but like you keep giving these little tidbits these little
crumbs and there's never a follow up there's never a payoff that's fucking
more infuriating than not doing anything because you're almost there you're almost there tell us
about that abe pusher you're not supposed to be doing that on this show you're the fucking husband
we don't like when husbands get involved but in this moment talk about that that's interesting
who you flying around the country with like what's going on please tell me please tell us it just
doesn't make a whole lot of sense dude but that's my point like we really didn't discuss anything
in this scene other than they make up and we're moving on to uba and sai uba's
talking about Oliver a little bit, which, you know, he was off limits last year. Now I guess
we can talk about him, but we still don't know anything about him. All we get from this scene
is that Uva and Bryn are at odds. And I like that because I do think that Uber, if you push her
far enough, will be the one person to take it to the next step. I do think that she's capable.
I have the same feeling about that. Yeah, and I did have the same feeling about that. And I feel like
the way that Bryn has been going this season, she will say something stupid, completely.
mispeak at some point in time and if uba's pushed she will go back after her and that's when
we get things out of uba that's when we got stuff out of uba last year when she had that spat with
aaron down in where were they anguia anguilla anguilla i still i still know it anguila yeah when they were
down in anguila with the whole sunglasses conversation that was going on down there that's the most
that we got out of uba last year so if grins's going to push uba this year and that's going to be
the the center of attention for the most part then yeah that's going to be good
good because we'll finally get something out of uba and brin still even though she just made up with
aaron is still front and center of the mess because of the things that she's doing so that's
promising i guess but like you said that's really all we get out of this conversation
yeah and i i think that it gives you hope maybe that that can be a sticking point this season
if those to go after it because i when uba gets activated she is no longer performing like
we're seeing the other women do like when she gets into it she goes and that's what we want we
want to see reactions we want to see authenticity she gave us that last year ever so briefly but
she did it so if she can get to that point again with brin who i also think is capable if you
push her because i don't think she's used to that of being reactionary that could be interesting
yes and that would be captivating that's something we want to see so again infuriatingly so
we have it's fucking right there but they're still not doing it so we're almost
The last scene is the blade set up, you know, the air ubers, the helicopter ubers, and it's the only time we get to see Jessel.
And even in that moment is more entertaining than the majority of the show because you can't figure out a fucking umbrella.

The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is an eight-episode Hulu Original Limited series
that blends gripping pacing with emotional complexity,
offering a dramatized look as it revisits the wrongful conviction of Amanda Knox
for the tragic murder of Meredith Kircher and the relentless media storm that followed.
The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is now streaming only on Disney Plus.
Oh, hi, buddy.
Who's the best you are?
I wish I could spend all day with you instead.
Uh, Dave, you're off mute.
Hey, happens to the best of us.
Enjoy some goldfish cheddar crackers.
Goldfish have short memories.
Be like goldfish.
And that's fucking funny.
And then she trips walking out,
trying to be sexy, walking to the helicopter, and trips.
Funny, she gave us more in two like pratfall moments.
Then we got from anybody else the whole episode.
And that's frustrating.
It's really fucking...
I just don't understand how you could have an entire episode and only have the only housewed.
Look, I get it.
Maybe you're trying to give more airtime to the housewives that have underperformed because maybe there's something else there.
How are you going to have an entire episode where the one housewife that always delivers for you is only in it at the very end for about two minutes?
Not to mention the new housewife that we don't know a lot about is only in it at the very end.
How are we not going to know more?
And look, she starts talking about Scientology.
That was a little interesting to her reaction to all of that, the way that she's answering questions, the way that she's reacting to them asking questions, which I didn't think was that crazy.
We didn't get any of that until the very end of the episode.
And it was only about like three or four minutes.
They better stack this thing up next week.
I don't know if we're going to the Hamptons, I think, next week or the week after.
Are they taking blades out to the Hamptons?
I think that's what they're doing, right?
They are flying the Hamptons.
The three of them are going up there and everybody else is driving.
yeah so still we're going to have them all together it better get messy it better get fun
because this isn't fun so far this we have our normal episodes are what an hour
close to an hour yep we're at 35 minutes right now and the first eight minutes we talked about
what we think about the overall show and now we're at we're almost done and the only thing at
the end of this is actually interesting only because this kind of shit similar to Mormonism
is fascinating to me yeah Rebecca
Minkoff is a Scientologist, which, okay, fine.
Then I hope we dive into that and maybe that'll take a center stage because that's
fucking interesting to me and the approach that she's taking is even better.
We're like, we are a world recognized religion.
It's like, oh, please let this be a mainstay because I know, you think I know a lot about
the Mormon church.
I know way more about Scientology.
And it's so good because people believe it.
It's so wacky to me that they follow a religion based.
on a science fiction novel
from a science fiction novelist
that was arrested on a yacht
because he was with a bunch
of underage boys.
That's what is based on.
I really hope that we talk about
dienetics.
What's the meter that they do?
What's the meter that they do?
Oh, the Eaton levels?
The E meter.
It's got an E meter
and it registered your Theton levels
because that's the amount of alien souls
you have in your body
that cause you to sin
because millions of years ago,
aliens came to Earth in spaceships
that looked like DC 707,
117 airliners and they dropped prisoner aliens into the volcanoes of Hawaii and the
solace aliens got trapped on earth and wander the earth and then they inhabit human beings.
They are called Thetons and those cause us to sin.
That's religion, baby.
That's religion.
Jesus Christ.
I love it.
So, yeah, if we talk about that, suddenly I'm on board.
And I said this, I said this a few seconds ago.
I had no, I don't think you did either, had any issues with the way that Brin and Jessel were asking
questions. Brin point blank, hey, I know this is a big issue. It looks like, I mean, she just said
that she got a text from the Daily Mail talking about it if she wants to leave a comment about
it. That's interesting. Bryn just says, hey, by the way, we're going to be asked about this in the
media. They're going to want to know what's going on. This is back in real time when all those
all those publications were dropping stories about Rebecca Minkoff being a Scientologist.
Rinn knows we're going to be asked about this.
What do you want us to say?
I'm going to give you the heads up right now.
I know that people are going to ask us about this.
And I don't want to say the wrong thing.
Rebecca is offended by that.
Like, why would you ask me a question like that?
That is insane to me.
I want to know more about that.
And I love that that's her reaction because that is bat shit crazy.
And if she is bad shit crazy, that's going to be good for the show.
And I want to see more of it.
Agreed.
that I think we can sum up the episode and the season as they're not close and I don't want to say they are I will say that there's moments where if they took it to the next level they'd be on the right track and they continue to take the wrong step in the wrong direction avoid the conflict avoid the drama avoid potentially fucking up a friendship or their public image in lieu of performing for the show and look by all means if that's who you want to be
And you don't want to do that.
Like, I would never go on reality TV because I don't want to be that person.
Yeah.
I get that.
But I didn't sign up to do it.
You did.
If you're going to do it, especially on a mainstay, you had big shoes to fill on Roney.
The odds were stacked against you.
And to come in your second year after claiming, we got to figure it out now and then continue
to do the same shit that we saw last year is disheartening and troubling for this show.
Because you're potentially looking at either a reboot, a pause.
Like, there's a lot.
of negative things.
I don't see a lot of positive things in the future for this if they can't figure it out.
So we shall see.
But let's get to some questions up first from Susie says this is important.
This is very important.
Just FYI, cherubs are little angels, not bushes or trumpets, go phil's.
Dev informed me of this too and called me an idiot.
She's like, yeah, my brother told me this too.
Yeah.
And she's like, you really thought that cherubs were bushes?
I was like, yep, sure did.
Look, I mean, I kind of get it.
It sounds like a bush, a term for a bush.
I'm with you.
And I did say I remember cherubs from some Catholic hymn back when I was in Catholic school.
And I said that it was the trumpets, not the angel.
But I did say that angels were playing trumpets.
So I was a little close.
The little angels have trumpets.
Yeah, yeah.
My brother patronized me a little bit.
He said that I was close.
He doesn't understand where you got bushes from either.
But, you know, I'm with it.
I think Deb figured it out.
She goes, did you think like shrubs?
I was like probably.
Oh, shirubs?
Yeah.
From Jennifer Mcimber.
Is it just me or is there more to the air and Abe situation?
He looks dejected, sad, and scared.
We are under the impression that there is, yeah.
I mean, my bold prediction, my bold prediction last week.
I know, I'm not going to repeat it.
I don't like doing it.
Oh, interesting.
from Zach Mellon, the personalities are there, but the chemistry does not agree?
Question mark.
Partially.
There's levels.
Levels.
That's definitely part of it.
I don't know for sure that the personalities are actually there.
I'm not sold on it.
They could be.
Yeah.
I think there are a couple of personalities, and we've seen hints of more personalities for
some of them.
The chemistry is definitely not there.
That is pretty much public enemy number one.
But again, if the chemistry is not there and you guys truly aren't friends, why are you so apprehensive to step on feelings and just go for it?
Because of public image.
Yeah, it's their own personal public image.
And they don't want to be seen as somebody who does that.
But again, that's what you signed up for.
So, yeah, that's definitely part of it.
Yep, yep, yep.
We'll do one more for Marissa and Palmer.
Did Aaron bring up Jenna's money trouble because she is having some of her own?
also a what the fuck yeah a what the fuck is right that's a big that's a big that's a big
step on his yeah that i don't think that that scene that's another thing with that scene it's like
the gravity of this is massive like yes the money obviously is the easy one to point out for me
it's like he's been lying to you for years yeah years like that's that's a big fucking deal
and you seem to be ho-hum about it on screen i'm sure you've had your your hashings out
off camera if you're going to bring it up again you got to do it on camera whether you
Or don't bring it up.
Or don't bring it up.
Are they having money issues?
I don't know currently.
It sounds like they did that he was covering up.
Marissa,
I was asking if Bryn was having money issues of her own.
Wait,
wasn't it Bryn?
Oh,
I read it.
Did Aaron bring up Jenna's money trouble
because she's having something of her own?
Oh, okay.
I do,
we are fairly confident.
Again,
we only know as much as we're given.
But,
I mean,
Aaron comes from a ton of money.
Yeah.
Her parents were like the biggest commercial real estate reps in New York City.
They were selling buildings and shit.
So unless something went tragically wrong, which it may have, I don't know.
I imagine she's got some kind of parachute there that they don't really have to worry about it.
As far as like personal finance being her and Abe, it seems as though they've had some pitfalls along the way that we know nothing about because they just mentioned we were in debt.
It's like, what the fuck happened?
It's like, oh, no, we're good.
Now move on.
well no
it's not that's not how this
you need something
for fuck sake
I need something to gnaw at
and you're not giving me
I'm starving over here
and we're trying
you're not going to find other podcasts
that are as forgiving
about this show as we are
because we want it to be good
other people are roasting this show
we want this to do the right thing
but they are just not doing it right now
and can they the jury is still out
and it's we're going to hold out
we are going to hold out hope we are going to hold out
hope for uba and brin honestly is the saving grace potentially but who the fuck knows who knows but
we've got 45 minutes till game time so we have to get mentally and emotionally prepared shooter
price to start drinking uh yeah i do yeah uh which is fine i get uh if i could i would just to soften
the blow i'm not going to guys the good thing is we got our episodes out so you guys are still
going to be able to enjoy this.
We're not depressed right now.
So you get actually a good episode.
I know there's some sickos out there that like to hear us when we are depressed about
Philly Sports.
We're not right now.
So you get to just listen to these.
It's like time travel, back to when we were happy boys.
Right now, we're a little nervous.
A little.
I'm terrified.
And if you're not a sports fan, you're not paying attention, it's fine.
When you're listening to this episode, just Google whether or not.
the Phillies won or lost, and you will know exactly how we're feeling today.
Yeah, that's fair.
Okay.
But other than that, you got anything else?
Nope.
Well, go Phillies.
Oh, bra.
Bro, bro, you're out of here.
