Bros & Shows - JT Takes 2 Steps Forward and 10 Steps Back (Southern Charm Full Recap)

Episode Date: January 29, 2025

What's up Bros? JT takes center stage once again on Southern Charm, and it unfortunately goes as expected. Salley and Venita sit down to discuss Taylor, and Venita states once again that it is on Tayl...or to rebuild trust in this group. JT, Craig and Shep go fishing, which already pissed off Austen, but Shep posting it on Instagram definitely added some salt in the wound. JT's demeanor on the boat is more than fine. He's light, interactive and normal. Molly is getting ready for her tuba performance and we get a further peek behind the curtain of who Molly is, and she has been a bright spot in this not so great season. The whole crew heads to JT's event space after the show where JT's other persona comes out. He takes it upon himself to inform Taylor of Salley and Gaston's relationship details. Taylor gets defensive (naturally) and leaves. He calls Salley the 'other woman' to her face even though he doesn't know her. And challenges everyone in the room because everyone is telling him to shut up, but he is the self proclaimed 'arbiter of truth'. This is the same behavior we saw last season, the same behavior that he promised Craig he would stop doing. He gets on this high horse that he must uphold the honor of women and the truth, despite the issues he's had with this method in the past. He succesfully pisses off the entire party and alienates himself once more and the bottom line is, he's just plain rude. He hides behind a facade of the 'nice guy' but he's just rude. There is no telling if or how he will reconnect with this group but its becoming more and more clear why he felt the need to tap out of this season before they wrapped. The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is an eight-episode Hulu Original Limited series that blends gripping pacing with emotional complexity, offering a dramatized look as it revisits the wrongful conviction of Amanda Knox for the tragic murder of Meredith Kircher and the relentless media storm that followed. The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is now streaming only on Disney Plus. I don't know how I feel about this season at this juncture, to be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:01:00 I'm just going to come out and say it. I am not enjoying it. It's taking a turn. Yeah. Yeah, it's been a slow turn, and I think it's just because we like the show a lot. We like the people on the show for the most part, but it is definitely going downhill. Yeah, it's unfortunate, and I think I have theories about it, and we'll get into it a little bit later. But, yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:01:20 It's alarming. Some red flags. There's some red flags that we're going to talk about. I got to have me my bros and shows. Bros and shows. Brows and shows. I got to have me my bros and shows.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Good evening, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Bros. and Shows. I'm a co-host. Steele Russell, joined as always by the one and only Shooter Magouter. Damn it. I thought I had one and I lost it. I can tell.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Yeah, I lost it. These two episode days are pretty tough. Those of you that are listening to this that watch The Bachelor, you might not know that we do Bachelor Recaps, go listen to that. It's a hoot. Yeah, we have a really good time with The Bachelor. It's a little bit easier to cover, a little bit lighter. You know, we have a lot of fun with it. So, yeah,
Starting point is 00:02:04 like you said, if you're a Bachelor fan, go give it a whirl. Give it a whirl. If you're not a Bachelor fan, just watch the damn show and listen the episode. Yeah, what do you have to do? Yeah, what do you have to do. Nothing. What's on Monday nights for Bravo? Married to Medicine. Oh, okay. That's a good show. If you're watching that, well, then DVR.
Starting point is 00:02:22 I'm sure there's a blow deck on Monday night. Oh, yeah, well, DVR. DVR the Bachelor and watch it go to Hulu it's on there anyway we're not here to talk about that we're here to talk about southern charm and as we talked about in the intro it's not their best work this is not their best work there's a lot of disconnections going on people seem disingenuous like they don't really have time for a lot of this shit and there's just a lot of tension there's so much tension and not like fun tension yeah and it's always a pretty bad sign when the focal points are somebody like Taylor who like come on and the newbies. Yeah. The newbies are getting involved way too much and look, J.T.,
Starting point is 00:03:01 I'm still going to consider him somewhat of a newbie too. I hate to say it, but without J.T. in the show, I don't know what we'd be talking about. He seems to be, even when he's not on screen, something that people are talking about.
Starting point is 00:03:13 Like, he's part of the story. And obviously, the big overarching thing is Austin and Craig, which is leading to the downfall because Austin's not around as much and they're doing different types of scenes where Craig's not there or Austin's not there
Starting point is 00:03:24 and they're just kind of talking about it, but they're not addressing it. And then when they do address it, nothing gets done. So they're in shambles right now. Yeah, it's not great. It's not great. But we start out,
Starting point is 00:03:34 at least Benita's getting some more screen time now, and she goes to Sally's house post, almost drowning at Sally's party the night previously. But they're talking about Taylor. Obviously, Taylor and Sally had a conversation. Now, the way that Sally's talking about it now, and I already told you, I think Sally's a little suss. I don't trust Sally.
Starting point is 00:03:54 The way she's talking about it now, is almost like it was a good conversation. Yeah. That's not what transpired. You told her that people in the group still don't trust her and that you shouldn't trust her. I don't think, and that was a dig in my eyes. There's no need to bring that up if you're trying to make nice.
Starting point is 00:04:12 And I mean, the root of this is just some piece of shit dude, which sucks in Gaston. Yeah, and I don't think that she's trying to make nice either. No, she's clearly not. I think it's just a matter of like Taylor's going to be around because she's on the show, but Taylor doesn't like anybody on the cast anymore. We've talked about it before. She should be on Soho, just as a friend of.
Starting point is 00:04:29 She should just take a step back from the show in general. I don't know what she has to do, but she expects everybody to just be cool with her now and just respect her relationship, I guess. Yeah. And what you did last year? Like, no, people won't get over things that easily. There needs to be some repairs going on. That's what Vanita says.
Starting point is 00:04:45 She's like, we're not out on her entirely. It's just like she needs to rebuild that trust. And I think that there's a disconnect there as well where it's like, look, I think we can all agree, no matter what Bravo show you watch yeah the majority of this cast has done stupid fucked up things to each other also Austin is seemingly Scott free from this whole thing and he was
Starting point is 00:05:03 involved as well which is horseshit but it is what it is right now so yeah like there's always a route back fucking Sandoval tried to have a redemption season for God's sake so there is a route back but I do think because I've said it before I think the Taylor hate train is kind of played out and I don't
Starting point is 00:05:19 subscribe to it anymore but you can dislike her though you can dislike her and also say, like, look, I get where you're coming from. It has been a lot for a long time. You did fuck up, though. So instead of taking this, like, firm stance, like drawing a line, try to rebuild some of these friendships. Because all we're seeing from Taylor this season is her talking to Rod, her talking to Gastone, about her relationships in the group, not her going to the people in the group and saying, hey, let's fix this. And I will say in a reality TV show, it is much easier to have.
Starting point is 00:05:53 those conversations and be forgiven for face value or whatever you want to call it, you will be given a second chance because of the way that the TV show works. In real life, yeah, people are going to write you off and they're never going to talk to you again for doing something like that. But in this show, you can lie for an entire season about
Starting point is 00:06:09 hooking up with somebody else's ex while they're still talking. And so really, like you said, all she has to do is just broach the subject, sit down with a couple of people. You need a couple of allies because you feel alienated right now. You feel like nobody has your back, and they might not still have your back, but at least it might be a little bit
Starting point is 00:06:25 more pleasant for you, and she's not doing any of that. She's just fully checked out, whether it's because she's afraid of them, whether it's because she just doesn't want to talk to them anymore. I don't know what it is, but she has to do something if she's going to remain on the show. Well, the next scene points to one direction that I think is probably part of it, because when I got from the last scene of this episode, I think she garnered some support there via T. J.T. Fuck, man. It's all right. Whitney called him T.J. as well. Okay, cool. That makes me feel better. I don't want to be compared to Whitney at all. Actually, that makes me...
Starting point is 00:06:55 Very similar guys. Fuck you. I'm going to rip your mustache off and tape at your forehead. What do you mean? You take that back. You take it back now. I mean, thank God Ryan was there to help out, right? He's in the show now.
Starting point is 00:07:07 I can't wait to talk about JP. Oh, God, dude. Anyway, this very next scene is Taylor and Gaston, and, you know, she's talking about how she fell in love with him already, and they want to spend a lot of time with them, but she's not ready to say I want to spend the rest of my life. with them and they're starting to talk about sally and you know she wants to be in better grace with everyone or thought she was getting to that point with everyone which you felt the shift a little
Starting point is 00:07:31 bit the fact that she can go to these parties and stuff like that it's still a little contentious but they're moving the right direction sally is wary of her to begin with and i think that that potentially can skew some of the other people because it's going to bring up some old feelings now what i was referring to i think a lot of this might have to do with the dude she's dating because if he's in her ear as we see here because he's kind of telling her like you don't need this bullshit it's similar like what we saw with will in southern hospitality it's like you don't need this don't engage him don't do this don't do that he's pulling her away from the group she's already feeling alienated from the group now you have a newcomer in sally that's throwing some more vitriol
Starting point is 00:08:12 into the group so you're getting her isolated and i think gasstone wants that because i do think as we say all the time where there's smoke there's fire this dude has a whole bonfire behind him. He's already got evidence. So I think what he's trying to do is get her away from the group so he doesn't get challenged on some of the stupid shit that he's done. Yeah. Like you said, he's got a trail of dead bodies, so to speak, behind him. And nothing that people are saying about this guy is good. I even heard one good thing about him except from Taylor. And the thing that I keyed it on mostly was Taylor talking to him saying, yeah, you know, Molly's got a tube of thing coming up here. I think Sally's going to be there. His face just completely like,
Starting point is 00:08:48 Oh, yeah. Like, you can't do that. And I don't understand why you are dating somebody who's on the show when Sally's on the show, too, because it's just going to bring light to the shit that you're doing. It's Charleston. Yeah, it's just Charleston bullshit. But, like, what are you doing? Like, what's going on here?
Starting point is 00:09:05 And we talked about this last week that that is what his intention is to pull Taylor away so that she doesn't have to talk to all these people and find out all the bad things that he's done in his past. Because right now, she's just turning a blind eye to it. Yeah. I used to say that, you know, in a couple of episodes, she actually does have a full breakdown where she sits down with somebody and they actually go through everything that he's done. Well, I mean, that's what happens at the end of the episode.
Starting point is 00:09:26 She's not there to hear it. I think that was just the tip of the iceberg. Oh, for sure. I think there's a lot of shit going to come out. But we get Vanita and Sally again ending this whole thing. And Vanita says, look, I want Taylor around. And maybe part of it is because she's with Gastone. And I'm like, yeah, probably.
Starting point is 00:09:41 Probably. And then Sally disingenuous. Once again, it's like, I hope it's not because I'm talking. shit about Gastone. It's like, well, I mean, that's not helping. It's definitely not helping. It's certainly not helping. No. And look, I mean, Sally has a right to talk about her past as well. Absolutely. She can probably do it in a much better way. That's right. That is not very destructive towards Taylor's current relationship. I think you could talk about Gastone
Starting point is 00:10:04 and your bad experience with it in an empowering way to help Taylor like, hey, just a heads up rather than, I don't know. I don't think that's going about. I don't think that Taylor would accept that. No, no, clearly not. Or to have that conversation. Even if Sally was, in your words, you think that she's pretty shady, if she was completely transparent about everything and sat down and actually had a real, like, girl, girl talk about this guy. Like, hey, just a heads up. This is what happened in our past. I just want you to know. I'm not going to tell you what to do, but I'm letting you know because it's going to get out there because we're on a TV show.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Right. She could have gone that approach. Taylor's still not going to listen to it. No, but Taylor's still in the impression that Sally and Gastone had a fling. Yeah. Which we're about to find out in a little while. That's not what happened at all. But J.T. Shep and Craig are going fishing with Captain Austin, which is ironic.
Starting point is 00:10:51 But these scenes, especially the scene later when Shep is over at Craigs, I'm like, Austin should be here. Austin should be a part of this. And this whole thing that Craig's doing where he's like, this isn't a dig at Austin, it's like, even if that's not your intention, you have to know what this is going to do. And I think that he doesn't give a shit right now. I think he's actually intended to do that. It doesn't care at all, but it makes zero sense because you. walked out, Craig, walked out of that golf simulator and said, I don't need this
Starting point is 00:11:18 anymore, I don't want to deal with this. Stop talking shit about my friend Austin. Yeah, stop talking to JT, and then he invites you out to get coffee because he's going to call you out for saying that he called Patricia a bitch when he didn't. And now your, I guess, response to that is to invite him to go fishing?
Starting point is 00:11:34 You said with Shep, this is going to piss Austin off if I go have coffee with him. What's fishing going to do? You still went and had a coffee with him. You could sit down with Austin and say, yeah, I went to have coffee with him because he wanted to talk about something. he's saying that he didn't call her a bitch. I heard that he did. That's kind of where we left it.
Starting point is 00:11:48 And leave it at that. You can't say in one scene earlier in the season that you're done with JT and then invite him to go fishing, but you're inviting Austin, but just like you should come fishing with us. Like, the mixed signals are crazy. And you know he's not going to.
Starting point is 00:12:02 No. And then to say the only person Austin is hurting is himself by being mad at JT. Dude, you left a golf simulator because you know the crazy that comes out of JT. You watched what JT. tried to do to Austin for an entire season that led to you leaving the golf simulator
Starting point is 00:12:18 because he didn't drop it, so you know why he's mad at him. Did now all of a sudden after one coffee date be like, Austin needs to get over? I was like, that makes no goddamn sense. It makes no sense. Are you too busy with work, by the way? What are you going fishing for? I do it. It's a very long excursion.
Starting point is 00:12:34 That's, you could have spent that time with Austin. You could have spent that time working. Either or. Doing the podcast on your own. There's, now there's inconsistencies. So many inconsistencies. And I get that like a lot of It's for the show, and they have to have different scenes. You can't always have a scene in Craig's backyard, even though he's probably pining for that.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Can't have a scene where Craig is going to sewing down south. You got to get out there, but still, like, you can't tell Austin all you want to do is work and then go out and post pictures on a boat with JT. Yeah, and look, we love Craig, but this is weird, weird behavior. Yeah. But they go fishing, JT, I actually thought it was kind of funny in this scene,
Starting point is 00:13:10 you know, his inability to, like, grab the bait fish and put it on the hook. And, like, again, Craig points it out later. Like, this guy, this JT, this is fine. If this is him all the time, he would have no issue on this show. It's the other side of him that he cannot control that always comes out eventually. That ruins it. The only side of him that works for this show right now because nobody else is doing anything. Yeah, like he's driving the whole thing, which is, it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:13:33 But look, the red fish are running. They pull up a big red and they're too big. They've got to be smaller than that for you to keep them. Delicious fish, though. But Austin is now left. and this sucks too because now he's just hanging out with fucking Whitney and I don't need more Whitney on this show. We've gotten more Whitney this season than we have the last three seasons combined.
Starting point is 00:13:52 Yeah, he's just filling space at this point because Austin needs somebody to hang out with, I guess. I don't know. Seriously, that's what it is. And we go to his weird S&M bar at his mom's house and I didn't want to go upstairs. I don't want to go upstairs at all. And we have to go upstairs. It's Madison, Whitney, and Austin. And upstairs creeps the shit out of me.
Starting point is 00:14:12 I fucking hated that room. I don't like that couch. The couch screams just weird sex. Yeah. And I don't like that. I don't like that at all. It looks... Your bubble couch?
Starting point is 00:14:23 Incredibly uncomfortable. It's like I have a bubble at my ass. Yeah. I don't want to sit on that. Sure. Okay. Not where my head went. But yeah, if you don't want bubbles up your butt, that would be a bad couch. The paint color is bizarre.
Starting point is 00:14:35 The whole room sucks. The whole... I hate his bar. I have a bad feeling when I come into this place. But anyway... They're in the creepy S&M bar upstairs and Shep obviously post that Instagram post of him, J.T. and Craig all fishing, which got a reaction out of Austin where he's like, you guys are assholes. It's like, yeah, you guys kind of are. And the fact that none of them see his side of it, Shep of all people who's been lobbying for him with Craig is like, he needs to just like move on. It's like you fucking flip flies so hard. But he doesn't do it in a good way. He doesn't do it in a good way. And he also doesn't do it in a way that people are actually really mad. him. Right. So I don't know how he's skating on that thin ice, but he's having a great time.
Starting point is 00:15:16 Because he says the right thing to Austin when he's with Austin. He says the right thing to Craig when he's with Craig, but he stands on no laurels. The man has no laurels. No laurels. And he's actually probably loving it too. Oh, yeah. Because he's getting attention from both of the boys separately. And now all of a sudden he's important. That being said, he had a funny episode. I liked that episode. But Madison's upset because Craig's acting cool with J.T. there was way more to this than I thought because in my mind I'm like yeah that's fair because the the affair shit that went on and Craig had your back with that I didn't know that Craig is calling you on the side saying we're fucking done with this guy and now he's posting
Starting point is 00:15:51 pictures of fishing I don't know why Craig seems to think that these relationships that he's cultivated over the years in this show like sure it's business whatever but at the same time he seems to be throwing all caution to the wind being like they can deal with it this is my life. And that's the go-to right now. This is my life. You don't like it. Get over it. It's like, no. You got to make concessions to friends. You have to make concessions. Yeah. There's just no way that you can get
Starting point is 00:16:16 around it. But nothing that anyone is doing is making any sense. No. It's just, and we know why certain people are doing things like Austin. He doesn't really have it in him to just force of sit down with Craig and actually hash it out. Whoa, he tried. He tries. I know. But like when he starts speaking,
Starting point is 00:16:32 he's not doing a good job. He stumbles because he's nervous. And then he gets nervous and then he gets all worked up. and then he gets mad, and then he says something mean. But it's hard to not do that when the guy you're talking to is your best friend, and he's acting like you guys are barely friends. None of the people involved are making any sense. And maybe they just never make sense. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Maybe we're just like the blinders are off now. I don't fucking know. I have no idea. But he talks about the podcast request to dissolve the podcast. And I will say, Whitney, this was a solid statement by him. It's like, Austin's not behaving up to Craig's standards. And we get a cut scene from next week at the end of the. the episode where it's like maybe Craig you're too stuck on the Austin of old you're not allowing
Starting point is 00:17:12 yourself to see some of the growth that he's made because even the way that Austin's addressing Craig I think is productive and when when Austin says you know it's just because he he can't take criticism I try to criticize him he couldn't take it and he pretty much said like oh yeah well I'm getting my ball and going home I'm like that really is it pretty much is what it is so it's hard to understand Craig's side of it right now because again going back to that scene with Austin. It's like, from what I'm seeing here, he's genuinely making an effort to try to reconnect.
Starting point is 00:17:43 Making an effort, and more than that, he's upset and talking to other people, not trashing, fully trashing, Craig. He is questioning the things that he's doing. Yeah. Because hanging out with J.T. at a coffee date and then also taking him to go fishing is insane behavior to somebody
Starting point is 00:17:57 who you didn't like and defended against for Austin. Two weeks ago. Like two weeks ago, who called Patricia a bitch, in your words. Yeah. But now you're hanging out with him going fishing. So none of that makes any sense. And Austin could completely tee off on Craig if he wanted to.
Starting point is 00:18:10 And he seems like he's kind of reeling it in. He's mostly just hurt. He wants his buddy back. He says it's becoming clear that Craig doesn't feel the same about our friendship. And I'm sad. This is not a dude that's trying to be an asshole. This is a guy that misses his friend. You've said that for fucking seven weeks now.
Starting point is 00:18:27 He just wants his buddy back. We've gotten nowhere. You can get protein at home or a protein latte at Tim's. No powders, no blenders, no shakers. Starting point is 00:19:14 We have Leonardo DiCaprio leading a revolution in one battle after another, Timothy Salome playing power ping pong in Marty Supreme. Let's not forget Emma Stone and Jorgos Lanthamos' Bougonia. Dwayne Johnson, he's coming for that Oscar in The Smashing Machine, Spike Lee and Denzel teaming up again, plus Daniel DeLuis' return from retirement. There will be plenty of blockbusters to chat about two. Tron Aries looks exceptional, plus Mortal Kombat 2, and Edgar writes, The Running Man, starring Glenn Powell. Search for Raiders of the Lost podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube. No, we haven't, but we get Craig and Shep at Craigs.
Starting point is 00:19:50 And like I said, I wrote it down here. This is weird without Austin there. Like, Austin should be a part of this scene. But you get the two-faced Shep. He's like, everything you do Austin takes is a jab, and he spirals for the wrong reasons. and like, oh, you went fishing, that's ridiculous. It's like, it kind of is, guys.
Starting point is 00:20:07 It kind of is ridiculous because of all of the rhetoric behind JT that you both have spoken about, especially you, Craig. So yes, that is kind of fucking weird. I guess I get frustrated because I don't get why they both can't at least recognize that. Like, that's a very, if Craig wants to get on his high horse about Austin showing up, hungover, not putting all his effort into the podcast. whatever. Okay, fine. Business gets affected. It is what it is. You just told J.T. to knock this shit off two weeks ago about, and I quote, my friend Austin, what happened? I don't know what happened in that two weeks, man. And I don't think that it's an overreaction from Austin either because it's way different to sit at a party, or I guess a couple days before, and hear that they're going fishing and be like, no, obviously I'm not going to go fishing with JT. I don't want to be out of open water with him. why would I want to do that?
Starting point is 00:21:04 Knowing that you're going is one thing and then posting a picture about it which Shep did and Shep knows that he's stirring the shit knows exactly what he knows exactly what he's doing. I'm not even going to knock Austin for sending that text out too. No, you guys are assholes. You guys are fucking assholes is a warranted response. Yeah, I should be on that boat.
Starting point is 00:21:18 What the fuck? Why is this little weasel on there that both of you hate? It just makes no goddamn sense. JT. last year dragged Shep a whole season because he was trying to hook up with Taylor. Correct. Oof, magoof. But we talk about Craig and Paige some more, you know,
Starting point is 00:21:36 and these scenes are just sad because it's Craig say... They're getting sadder. They're getting sadder and sadder because, like, you watch in real time the rationalization that Craig's gone through to keep this relationship going up until this point. He's like, it gets confusing because sometimes she's like, I want to buy a farmhouse and move to the middle of nowhere. And then other times, and this is a direct quote,
Starting point is 00:21:57 he says like wife and family and her response is ugh yep oof big time oof or she'll say i want to move down to charleston but then the next day she had a good day in new york so she's not i love the city yeah i know it really madingly inconsistent yeah it's tough and you know the thing is this should have been an aha light bulb moment for craig because he's he's talking you know as dudes do in moments like this we tend to get deep and talk about life is what it is especially you spend a day on the boat drinking a little bit. You're going to have some...
Starting point is 00:22:30 You might be grilling some meat. Sure. You grilled meat. You talk about life. That's what goes on. That's what we do. And that's what these boys are doing right here. Start talking about life, how life works.
Starting point is 00:22:38 You know, love your life, all this shit. And Craig's like, well, look at you, Shep. Like, you didn't expect Sienna to come into your life, this and that. I'm like, if you, Craig, are comparing yourself to Shep and his relationship choices, that's probably not good. Yeah. And here you are doing just that. It is very weird, even more, to consider the first episode in where everybody was.
Starting point is 00:23:03 I know. And now you have Craig and Shep out there alone, and Craig is complimenting Shep on his relationship life? Yes. Good to see that one coming. Yes, and also drawing comparisons to it. Yeah. Yeah, definitely couldn't have seen that one coming. I don't know what the hell is going on.
Starting point is 00:23:18 You shouldn't see that. Nope. That's bad. Nope. Look, not good. Shep's funny. He's an idiot. He's an idiot.
Starting point is 00:23:23 He's a womanizer. Like, these are not secrets. Yep. that's not a good place to be if you're drawing comparisons to day. But Shepdai volges that he dropped the L word a little bit early. He says maybe I've thought about my future with Sienna a little bit more than I have in the past. Are you guys exclusive? Hell yeah, we are.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Is she? I don't, uh, we didn't talk about that. Should we? Probably. Yeah, we probably should. Should we? No, you probably should. I am.
Starting point is 00:23:48 I don't know. And now he's spiraling. She's in the Bahamas. It's a different country. And what I mentioned staying down there for a month, she had no response. Yeah. Oh, my God. I think we're to find out a lot more about that relationship as goes.
Starting point is 00:23:59 But my new fave, Molly, she's awesome. Yeah. All right. She's been a bright spot in this otherwise very mediocre season. And she's got her tuba performance tonight. And, you know, especially with newbies when we do the life stuff, when we're diving into where they've been, where they come from what they're doing now, a lot of times doesn't hit because you're not invested.
Starting point is 00:24:22 For some reason, there's something about Molly where I'm very interesting. Right? She's talking about the tuba. She's saying, you know, she's very genuine, has a very interesting background. Yeah, she quit playing music for a decade to model, and now she's getting back into it, and she's going to perform in front of everybody. So, yeah, it was fun to hear about it. Like her reasoning behind getting back in the music.
Starting point is 00:24:42 I do, too. Went on a drive, had some 80s power ballads, and just got her right back in. Look, if you need to think some shit through about your life, throw on some 80 power ballads. That's what I do before birds games. Oh, yeah, you have to. Yeah, throw a little poison on, you know what I'm saying? That will, I promise you if you're struggling with life choices, take a drive on a nice evening, windows down, blasting hair metal.
Starting point is 00:25:03 It'll come clear. It'll work. Yeah, it works every time. That's how we got here. Should we start a podcast? Fellas, let me ask Pat Benetton. Fuck, yeah. Anyway, let's get to the show.
Starting point is 00:25:17 Everyone gets there, and we get a special guest, J.P. you can ask Dev I audibly laughed out loud when Whitney's friend was introduced. It's a fucking name tag. Of course this is what Whitney's friend looks like. And of course Whitney, producer of the show
Starting point is 00:25:37 highlights this burnout. This dude literally looks like a different version of Whitney. He probably lives with his mom in Charleston in a big house. I actually figured that he lived in Whitney's little weird guest house. And he just sits around and listens to Whitney
Starting point is 00:25:53 he played metal all day. Oh, my God. Yeah, they drink Pappy Van Binkle. Oh, that sounds so sad. Maybe even homeless. That's so sad. They just lives at Whitney. Oh, I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:26:04 I don't like it. I don't like it. I didn't think I could make that worse for you, but I did. Oh, I'm so sad now. I'm just sad. But you get a little glimpse into Vanita and J.T. And they're flirting a little bit. I will say this.
Starting point is 00:26:21 The chef and Molly chemistry. It's very real. He's enamored. A lot of people are shipping him. He's enamored by this woman. Yeah. He loves that she plays the tuba. Gritfully so.
Starting point is 00:26:32 I think she's great. She can do way better than Shep. Yep. I think that she's, but she has him up here. She likes him, yeah. I know. I don't know. It'll be an interesting relationship.
Starting point is 00:26:41 Also, him standing up to just see where she is. It's cute. It's kind of cute. It's kind of cute. He's a shit. He's a shit. But he was good this episode. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:49 He was fun. And also, I know we have to talk about these scenes, but the Vanita and JT stuff fuck off. Oh my God, can you believe? We know what happened. He fucking ghosted her? And then posted another girl on Instagram. That's insane.
Starting point is 00:27:05 Because Vanita's awesome. Yep. J.T.'s a loser. Yeah. And he posted I don't know what the hell happened. Some sort of mind trance that he put on her. It's such a bummer, man. And even watching their interaction at the end of the episode, I'm like, oh, please run. Get away from this fucking guy. But we get to the after show. Hugs and Flowers for Molly. Nice job.
Starting point is 00:27:22 You got a sweet confessional from her. where she's crying about getting back into the whole music scene. It was just nice. She just seems, she seems arguably the most genuine on this whole cast. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:27:31 It's hard to come by on this cast. Oh, yeah. So big Molly fans. But we get to the infamous event space. So happy we're back. I was not at all. Oh, I wasn't happy. I was so sad that we're back in this little place.
Starting point is 00:27:46 And Whitney breaks the mini fridge door, which is kind of funny. But I like, you know, I'll give credit to anybody, even somebody I hate in Whitney I appreciate the fact that as he's there he's like look at the end of the day I'll always have Austin's back I got my mom's back I'm like all right at least
Starting point is 00:28:00 you stand on something yeah for a little bit it is what it is but he also says the B word's hard to believe so even Whitney's questioning whether or not which is tough too because it was his mom that was the I guess the person it was directed at supposedly yeah so if he's questioning it I think
Starting point is 00:28:16 that you know chances are probably didn't happen we're already very skeptical of this whole thing but we're under the impression we'll it every time that he didn't say it, but it feels like a reunion drop to me if he did. But J.T., you would think because he says, I'm nervous. This is my reintroduction into the group. A lot is at stake here. Your place on this show was decided this evening.
Starting point is 00:28:44 And we know that for a fact because he bows out of this season at some point, probably in the near future. And it's probably because of this scene that did that. if this is your reintroduction and you have been told ad nauseum, maybe take it easy. Just be there. But again, if he didn't take it easy, we wouldn't really have a whole lot to talk about.
Starting point is 00:29:00 Valid? So I don't know. I'm very conflicted. I'm not going to go ahead and just say he, I mean, look, he sucked in this scene. He was awful. But from a show standpoint, like you said, he's moving the needle in some direction and no one else is doing shit.
Starting point is 00:29:16 So it is what it is. But at the same time, from a human being standpoint, Dude, if this is what you're up against, you know how you came off last year. You know where you stand with every single person in this group. Just be cool. Avoid every natural instinct you have and do the opposite. And just try to get back in the good graces with one person. That's not Vanita.
Starting point is 00:29:38 Because for whatever reason, she's got your back no matter what. His behavior is just insane. But let's get there. Did you notice what happened when Molly walked in the door? It's the first thing that happened. I don't know. You're going to tell me. Shep made her a drink.
Starting point is 00:29:54 He went up to her, what can I get you to drink? And they're cute. They are cute. I hate it. And then something happened where he couldn't make her a drink, so we just got her a bud light.
Starting point is 00:30:01 He said, no, he said, what do you want? She said, wine or champagne. Goes to get the champagne. It's not cold enough yet. Oh, that's what it was. So let me get you a bud light instead. I think they land on it.
Starting point is 00:30:10 It looked out of Pacifico. No. It's no. It's no. It's not. Oh, no, that's Miller. Miller High Life is a champagne of beers. Damn.
Starting point is 00:30:18 Don't you come in here and disparage Miller-Halap, you motherfucker. Whoops. Yeah, trust me. I bad. Yeah, come on now. Sorry, guys. He gets her, you know, a beer instead. But you can tell he's going above and beyond.
Starting point is 00:30:33 So he's feeling this too. And now you can tell Molly is as well. But Taylor and JT have their first, like, real interaction that we've seen. And it's awkward as fuck. It's even more awkward because he's like, hey, this is the kind of shit that drives me crazy with him. He's like, we're just friends. she's like, yeah, I made that abundantly clear. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:49 You fucking weirdo. That was a good line by her. Yeah, yes, it was. Yeah, just shut it down immediately. But first, before we get back to the rest of this episode, I've got a message here from Home Chef. Steele and I have been using Home Chef for a few months now. It has made my life so much easier between working and podcasting.
Starting point is 00:31:08 The fact that I get to go home and I just have meals ready for me, and if I want to get a little bit more fancy, sometimes I've got the ingredients to make it myself. I always love making the ingredients just because they're always for. fresh and the recipes are easy to follow and they're quick for the most part but i also love that i have the option if i've had a long day and i don't feel like cooking maybe i've cooked for somebody else that day i can just throw some stuff in the oven throw some stuff in the microwave not think about it oh yeah and guess what the quick meals the ready to go meals they taste amazing i had a beef and mozzarella dip sandwich it was like a french dip oh i love that had some fries on the side
Starting point is 00:31:41 oh yeah that was really nice i'm going to be thinking about that one for a while i'm hungry And users of leading meal kits have rated Home Chef number one in quality, convenience, value, taste, and recipe ease. Starting point is 00:32:14 Before we get into it, because once we start with this shit, that's pretty much like the rest of the episode, for the most part. But there's a quick moment where Molly says that Shep looks like he does tantric sex. One, yes, spot on. Yeah. Especially with the scarf. Yeah. Two, n'uh. Whitney looks like he wants to do tantric sex.
Starting point is 00:32:34 Stop it. Why? I don't like thinking about it. Look, it's not my fault that you see yourself in Whitney. Oh, no. No. Why? You know where I had, but, right?
Starting point is 00:32:49 Yeah. Oh, God. I don't like you right now at all. It was the bubble couch. I don't want to be on the bubble couch again. J.T. is talking to Taylor in the kitchen. And he brings up Sally and Gaston to Taylor.
Starting point is 00:33:07 Because he, for whatever reason, decides that she needs to know the extent of this. Here's the thing. Does she need to know and be made aware of the extent of their relationship? Yes, only because of this reason. Gaston's telling her something different. Correct. That is the only reason she needs to know, but she also needs to be presented with it in a calm way to say, hey, just so you're aware, this is what actually happened. I want you to know to protect yourself.
Starting point is 00:33:37 That's all. All right? And it needs to come from somebody that she's close with. Not J.T., who you've had a very strange relationship with over the past two years. But he says they're in a relationship. Taylor says it was a fling. He says, and again, he has no tact. He doesn't know how to do this shit.
Starting point is 00:33:56 So matter of fact. It's so fucking stupid. Just telling the girl that she's wrong to. Yes. It's like, hey, no. Nah, uh-uh. She was in love with him. Sick, bro.
Starting point is 00:34:05 What does this do for you? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. What's it going to do? You think Taylor's going to hear you of all people say this and be like, thanks, JT. In the middle of a group setting, too. In the middle of a party. Look, I do think.
Starting point is 00:34:14 that at some point because of the way that everything's structured JT is probably going to be the one that would have to do this, but not the time replace. No. Either person. It's ridiculous. Taylor's already on edge because she has to go to these group things all the time. Gastone refuses to go because of obvious reasons. Oh, because he's a little bitch boy that I want to
Starting point is 00:34:30 fade to music? Correct. And that's why she's out here on a limb by herself feeling very insecure. Yeah. You are not the person that she wants to hear from in this group setting because if she has a meltdown, everybody's going to see it and everybody's going to start questioning her again. So why would you want to do it right now, especially with where you are with the rest of the cast,
Starting point is 00:34:50 you want to be able to be reintroduced into the group. That fishing trip was nice. Maybe continue that for an episode or two and get back in people's good graces. Just be normal. Have people at your place. Maybe they'll thank you. Then you can walk out, feel a little bit better, get some confidence and go back in and do it again. Sit down with Taylor at coffee.
Starting point is 00:35:09 Sit down with Taylor at lunch or something and talk about it. If she storms out, then she storms out. put on gentle gloves to do it like this is such a weird approach to it and then he fucking as she like he reacts to her getting mad like what did you expect her to do right oh my god you're such a great guy that's all this man wants to hear you're so amazing you're so above the bullshit so nice to have you in my corner yeah thank you so much for protecting me j t i need a big strong man like you to protect me as you hike up the counter like this was fucking stupid and he ends it with gaston cheated on my friend with sally it's like all right bro sick so again they're dating Gaston and Taylor are dating you're not going to present any information right now because of your lack of credibility because of how much of an asshole you were last year that's going to get her to go thanks dude yep I'm going to take this directly to him and we're going to sort this shit out she's going to get her a flowchart that's always a good answer yeah always make a flowchart mail her a flowchart yes although I don't know if she goes to her
Starting point is 00:36:08 seaside escape by the bay oh yeah just like slip it under the door yeah too something just don't do this because Taylor goes immediately to everyone and now because she's activated and look did she play this very well no but again here she feels like she's being singled out she already feels uncomfortable at this party
Starting point is 00:36:26 and she comes in and she goes JT's trying to drag my boyfriend he's being an asshole like this one and points in like Shelley just caught like a fucking stray and she starts talking about this is the diabolical shit that everyone's experienced even running
Starting point is 00:36:43 What Ryan speaks up about it. He goes, this is what I heard you do. Is that what his name is, the doctor? I don't know who you're talking about. The gentleman that J.T. says he has a bad hairline and two fake eyebrows. Oh, that guy was really there? I thought I imagined him. Why?
Starting point is 00:36:59 What? Is this a bit? He's a fucking new cast member. We've seen him twice. Oh, I know. And this was a forced comment on the time. You're like, welcome Ryan to the show. Is he on the show?
Starting point is 00:37:06 I don't know. I think he's an imaginary friend. Your bit went over my head. Yeah, I know. Yeah. It wasn't, you delivered it too seriously. Yeah. Oh, yeah, fair.
Starting point is 00:37:14 She's smirked. Be better. Should have smirk. Do what you're doing now, but do it better than you did it last time. Okay? No. Okay, cool. Taylor fills the whole crew in on what J.T. said in the kitchen, and his response is the same thing as always.
Starting point is 00:37:28 I don't know if being the arbiter of a truth makes you a bad person, and I don't have an angle here. I just wanted to have the info. Why? You guys don't have a friendship anymore. She doesn't come to you with her relationship issues. Well, so nobody made you the arbitrary truth. Literally. You made yourself that.
Starting point is 00:37:45 But he stands on this, this thing where he's like, the truth will set you free. And why is everyone afraid of the truth and this, that, and the other thing? Because a lot of the time, J.T., it's none of your fucking business, guy. Like, yeah, you know what? Telling the truth is a good thing. People should tell the truth. Absolutely. First and foremost, time and place, bud.
Starting point is 00:38:05 Second, is it your place to tell that person the truth? No. No. Never. So shut the fuck up, God. Like, seriously. It's just such a bizarre. I mean, I'm not surprised, but, you know, Sally gets defensive.
Starting point is 00:38:16 Don't bring me into this. I agree. Like, this is between Gaston, Taylor, and JT now. Yeah. Like, Sally, yeah. Put himself into it. Yeah, she brought it up at a different date, but she walked into this party. Sally's a piece of the puzzle, but she doesn't have to actually talk about it.
Starting point is 00:38:31 No, she, by the way, let's have this story now. Let's not forget. Like, she got fucked over by Gaston. She's not thrilled either. And, like, for better or worse, is she going about it a good way? No, she's going about it horribly. Yeah. But she's also at the same time,
Starting point is 00:38:44 she's just trying to spread awareness about this guy. That's it. She's doing a better job than J.T. She's the one that got fucked over. It's not that hard to do a better job than J.T. That's a good point. But again, J.T.'s like, I'm just telling the truth. And Taylor leaves, understandably so.
Starting point is 00:38:59 And J.T. jumps in with Sally. And he's like, Taylor doesn't know the extent of your relationship. And it's messed up. It's like, it's not your, again, it's not your business, dude. It's not your business. But other people ask what was the extent of your relationship. She's like, we said, I love you. to each other and thank God for Craig and this is the Craig I miss this fucking Craig
Starting point is 00:39:17 yeah Craig's like logical Craig yeah dude just break the scene down for us tell JT why he's an idiot and how he should go about this because we need that and he does like why does it matter why does it matter I cannot believe JT doesn't know Sally they don't have any kind of relationship or friendship and he calls her the other woman they had a full blown affair and they go through this whole situation Sally went out met Gaston he was flirty as shit with her. They smooched. She sucked his dick a little bit, which was the funniest line of the show. Yeah, easily. He's like, I sucked his dick a little bit, not a big deal. But then we continued on. I found out he had a girlfriend, but at that point, I was already hooked. So let's break this down as
Starting point is 00:39:58 adults, okay? She didn't know when they hooked up. Clearly there was a connection there. Was she wrong to continue it knowing that he had a girlfriend? Yes. Is this the first time that's happened? Absolutely not. It's happened on this show before. Correct. So for J.T. to try to hold it over her head when she's trying, like she got fucked over by this guy too. Yes, it was slimy of her to continue the relationship.
Starting point is 00:40:20 She made a mistake. I don't know Sally that well. I do think she's shady. I don't think she deserves that much shit for this. She definitely doesn't deserve this shit from a guy. She doesn't know speaking on a relationship with Gastone. He knows nothing about because her, his friend got scorned in the process because Gastone cheated on her.
Starting point is 00:40:35 You're beefs with Gastone. Yep. J.T. It's not with the ladies. All right. It's not with Taylor. It's not with Sally. if you have a fucking problem,
Starting point is 00:40:43 go to Gastone's house and call him out. That would be fun. I would actually watch that. He wouldn't do that. Gastone involved somehow. He's not going to do that. JT gets so stuck on this like, and we're going to call it,
Starting point is 00:40:54 I think we called it last year, I think we called it the short man syndrome. Yeah. Where he has to be the protective person. Oh, I got to step in to protect my friends. They're not your friends. They don't like you anymore.
Starting point is 00:41:03 They don't want you to protect them. Because of what you did last year. Because of what you're doing right now. Yeah. And he takes another dig it or he's like, you know, well, you kept it going. And then he chose Taylor. It's like, sick, bro.
Starting point is 00:41:12 Now you're driving more of a wedge in between Taylor, your quote-unquote friend you're trying to look out for and this newcomer, Sally. You don't know the dynamic and their relationship because you didn't talk to Taylor. You just decided to drop this information on her out of fucking left field. Fucking crazy.
Starting point is 00:41:25 But Shep. She was good this episode. He's like, why would you hook up with him? He's not good-looking? I'm like, boom. Then you go, I don't even know where he heard this word. He goes, he's mid. I'm like, hey, he's been on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:41:40 And Vanita even calls out. taught you that word. I don't know. But Craig calls it out again. This is the Craig we we love. He's like, this is your issue. What would you like Sally to do with this? And what are you getting out of this? And his response is the truth will help Taylor. Again, let's do the need your help. Let's do the grown-up thing again. Yeah, try it. As best we can. We're not grown-ups either.
Starting point is 00:42:02 Help show to do that on. Yeah, we'll try. We'll try our very best here. So if you have this issue, okay, the truth will set her free is what you're implying. time and place to do that would be, as you said, coffee one-on-one. Yep. You know what it's not when you're having a party at your event space and you invite her to your event space, then you put her in a bad spot.
Starting point is 00:42:24 There's nothing that's happening here that's going to make her better, help her out. She's going to get defensive and storm out. But again, you're the arbiter of truth. You're super truth. That's your fucking superhero. He gets off on that. Seriously, he loves this feeling of being righteous and better.
Starting point is 00:42:41 important yes and he's not no and it makes him feel bigger and stronger and better than the people in the room because i at least stand by the truth what he does too he forces himself into these situations that other people are going through because he himself is going through nothing right what's the most interesting thing that jt did in the last year chase taylor around that didn't involve anybody else yeah chase taylor around getting into an a tv crash opening up an air bn bn bn literally yeah the most important thing that you've done with your life in the last year he's just a sad little man. Yeah, it's unfortunate and it's annoying because, again,
Starting point is 00:43:14 you get glimpses of him this episode on the boat. It's like, dude, be this guy. Be this guy. You have no fucking problems. Zero. Dr. Ryan calls him out and he goes, this whole, this shit feels threatening, which that's a really, honestly, I know it was like a one-off and where this guy come from, but that's a great way to put it.
Starting point is 00:43:30 It does feel threatening. It feels like your friendship comes with a caveat to it where it's like, yeah, I'm going to be your friend, but I'm also going to fuck up your life with some untimely truth that you need to hear. instead of maybe it's a nuanced situation. I don't know. I can keep doing this all day. But that's when he takes a dig at Ryan.
Starting point is 00:43:45 Sorry, Mr. Two Fake eyebrows and a shitty hairline. I'm like, whoa. What? Fuck you. Weird dig to take. But best line out of Craig once again. If you see someone going, we used this yesterday in our recap of Southern Hospitality. If you see someone going headfirst into a car accident, do you tell them?
Starting point is 00:44:03 Craig's like, yeah, you tell them once. You let them know one time, hey, I don't agree with this. I don't like where it's going. I'm worried about you. And after that, they're all grown-ups. What they do after they're given the information is no longer your business. Stay out of it. I'm tried.
Starting point is 00:44:19 It didn't take. Now they've got to deal with the consequences. What you don't do is keep inserting yourself because all that does is drive that person closer to the person you're trying to get them away from. Yep. Which is exactly what cast down months. Yes. The more that this happens, the less you guys are going to see Taylor, the less of a chance that, and JT's probably still hung up on Taylor, the less of a chance that you're actually going to be able to get close to her again.
Starting point is 00:44:39 Yeah, honestly, this is it. That's, in JT's mind, that's probably what he was thinking. It's like, I'm going to tell her this. She's going to be so happy that I told her this, and it's going to push her back into my arms. That's probably what the rid of it all is. Yeah, that's a good call. But again, he's on the truth train.
Starting point is 00:44:53 The true friend will tell you the hard truth. Sure, dude, a true friend. You're not a true friend to Taylor. You were a nice guy to her last year because you wanted her to date you. She didn't. Now she's dating a guy that you deem lesser than. And for whatever reason, you are the, The upstanding citizen that has to call out all the fuck boys because you can't get laid and you have a problem with that.
Starting point is 00:45:14 So you try to tear everybody else down because now she's with another guy and you wanted to be with her so you're going to attack him. Yes, he's a piece of shit too, but that's neither here nor there. It's a weird spot to put yourself into. And even Vanita's like, I'm the only one that sees past JT. I know Jared. Jared's soft and tender. J.T. needs to be a tough guy. your only ally on this show is calling out exactly what you do. Yep.
Starting point is 00:45:43 You feel the need to bow up your chest in front of people and show that you're tough enough, show that you're big enough, show that you are the arbiter of truth, as you say. It doesn't play. He needs, like, consecutive scenes of one or two other people. He can't be in a group setting anymore for a while. No. It's the only way. But that's probably why I bowed out.
Starting point is 00:46:03 Yeah. Well, and look, that's what's going to happen, too, because he can't fucking control himself with this stuff and it doesn't make any sense and again i don't like and nor do i care for the way that venita is fawning over him she's like leading into levin being like he looks looks real did you say a buff yummy oh yummy okay yeah he looks really yummy in that he's wet stains yeah like what does he have on you venita but that's my whole thing dude it's like if he was even remotely okay it doesn't have to be cool just like not what he does when he loses his shit yeah i would At least somebody likes him.
Starting point is 00:46:38 Like, all right, let's see where this goes. But instead, I'm like, Vanita, run. Run. Get the fuck out of there. Especially now that we know what happened with their quote-unquote relationship. So. Oh, hi, buddy. Who's the best?
Starting point is 00:46:52 You are. I wish I could spend all day with you instead. Uh, Dave, you're off mute. Hey, happens to the best of us. Enjoy some goldfish cheddar crackers. Goldfish have short memories. Be like goldfish. Hey, Michael.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Hey, Tom. Big news to share it, right? Yes, huge, monumental, earth-shaking. Heartbeat sound effect, big. Mait is back. That's right. After a brief snack nap. We're coming back.
Starting point is 00:47:23 We're picking snacks. We're eating snacks. We're raiding snacks. Like the snackologist we were born to be. Mates is back. Mike and Tom, eat snacks. Wherever you get your podcast. Unless you get them from a snack machine, in which case, call us.
Starting point is 00:47:43 I'm Amy Nicholson, the film critic for the LA Times. And I'm Paul Shear, an actor, writer, and director. You might know me from The League, Veep, or my non-eligible for Academy Award role in Twisters. We come together to host Unspool, a podcast where we talk about good movies, critical hits. Fan favorites, must-season, and Casey Mistoms. We're talking Parasite the Home Alone. From Greece to the Dark Night. So if you love movies like we do, come along on our cinematic adventure.
Starting point is 00:48:08 Listen to Unspooled wherever you get your podcast. And don't forget to hit the follow button. And that's the funniest part, dude. That's the funniest part. Let's take a time out. Let's take a pause real quick to talk about how funny it is that the quote unquote nice guy, the fucking arbiter of truth, the guy that has to call out every fuck boy in Charleston and hold fuck boy exorcisms.
Starting point is 00:48:31 when push comes to shove and he gets into a relationship and then he sees the grass is quote unquote greener on the other side which it's not buddy you won't do better than Vanita I promise you that you ghost her
Starting point is 00:48:43 and then you go Instagram official with another chick before she's heard from you but you're the arbiter of truth my guy where's the truth there where's the upstanding citizen that stands up for females everywhere that stands up for women everywhere
Starting point is 00:48:57 that shows that they're not every that not every guy thing's fake? What? You mean his whole personality's fake? I know. It's shocking, right? That the nice guy is actually not the nice guy.
Starting point is 00:49:08 Any dude that plays this card, we said it all last season, this is such a stereotypical nice guy, quote-unquote move, where they're the guy that are always losing out on the dates because women don't like nice guys. And they post stupid quotes on their fucking Instagram, and they do all this other shit because they're trying to garner sympathy because they never picked the nice guy. well that's because you're not because you had a chance to prove that you were and you ghosted Vanita of all people who's the nicest person on this show nice job Jared the only person that had your back way to go Jared Jared's not soft and tender Jared's also a dickhead but anyway
Starting point is 00:49:47 JT brings up the bitch comment that was made and says did he say it someone asked that and Shep says I didn't hear it and Whitney bounces uh I think Craig has left already yeah Craig already Craig already left. Craig's walking, yeah, right after he says, I'm just telling the truth. Sorry, I missed a bunch of stuff because I went on my pause with Vanita. That's my fault.
Starting point is 00:50:08 Let's rewind a little bit. But let's get back on track. I took the pause to talk about Venita. But right after that, Craig gets activated because he's pissed off. And he's like, dude, you promised me you'd stay out of people's business. You fucking promised me.
Starting point is 00:50:22 And he's like, instead of doing that, Craig, why don't you have my back? Why would Craig have your back? Nobody's going to have your back. Nobody wants your back. They, nobody wants to be associated with you. At the point that Craig said earlier, you're going to make us look bad for going fishing with you.
Starting point is 00:50:35 You think he's going to jump into this conversation? Be like, guys, he's telling the truth. Like, no, he's doing whatever. The best thing they could have happened to Austin, too, not being there. Yeah, honestly. All of this melts down. It gets back to Austin. Austin just laughs.
Starting point is 00:50:46 Yeah, I know. That would be the best. I don't know. And he's like, dude, you made, you made Taylor and Sally cry. Like, what's your goal? And I was like, I don't even fucking know you. Like, who the fuck are you? But Craig's like, I'm out.
Starting point is 00:50:58 And he literally says, fuck you to J.T. See, this is what I get. It's the shit I get. It's the shit you deserve. Let's have a moment of self-reflection. You're having a lot of moments. No, no, not you and I.
Starting point is 00:51:10 Not you and I. Not you and I. I'm saying, J.T., this is a great moment to look inward and say, why does this always happen to me? Yeah, that would require self-awareness. Yeah, he doesn't have any of that. We know that for sure. But we get to the B-word comment.
Starting point is 00:51:22 They asked Shep, did he say it? He's like, I didn't hear it. Whitney decides to leave. I don't know if he took JP with him or not. Nah, he's still lurking around somewhere. He's upstairs, probably. He's camping out there for a while. He realized that he could probably live here for a bit.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Yeah, he's not, no one's going to notice that he's there because no one uses that event space. But Shep tries to play devil's advocate a little bit. He's like, look, you told Taylor something that other people won't. I understand where you're coming from. But everyone sees Gastone. This is not a secret. We've all discussed it.
Starting point is 00:51:52 We've all heard the rumors. You didn't need to be the one to do this. And by the way, the way you went about it sucks. Good friends hurt feelings. No, they don't. Good friends know how to have conversations that may sting, but you soften the blow to be like, hey, it's because I love you.
Starting point is 00:52:08 I would only do this because I love you. I know it sucks to hear. And by the way, I'm presenting you this information. What you choose to do with it, I will support. That's a good friend. But look, we all know that when he drew this comparison, that he was cooking. He's cooking now.
Starting point is 00:52:26 He's cooking. He's cooking because you know what? You know what? If my friends are doing heroin or addicted to alcohol, I would tell them the truth. I would let them know so they could fix their life. So Gastone's heroin. Yeah, I think that's actually exactly what he was saying.
Starting point is 00:52:43 I would tell them to, hey, stop. Stop doing heroin. Yeah, you stop doing that. And you know what? They would appreciate me saying that. No, they wouldn't. I don't think that you've ever had to deal with anybody with addiction problems. No, let me tell you right now.
Starting point is 00:52:55 If this fucking guy came to me when I was at my way, worst, it was like, you need to stop drinking. I would have punched him square in the teeth. Hey, put that down. I would have punched him in the mouth, stolen his wallet, and bought Vaco with it. Fuck you, dude. That would have made me drink more. But he's still stuck
Starting point is 00:53:12 on the truth, man. Like, why is the truth the bad guy? Like, you can't tell people the truth? It's just how, and it's why and, like, what the goal is, and, you know, people can track your reasoning and not seem like you're a total creep, just inserting yourself where you don't belong. But hey, reasonable reaction to all of this, by the way.
Starting point is 00:53:28 would think is running away from your own defense case yeah no that's a smart move you know what i'm getting a fuck out of here yeah dude you're your place kick everybody out like take some power back no no all right you're just gonna yeah run down the street i'm gonna follow vanita out no vanita followed him out oh is that what happened yeah he ran out i was writing he got up and said i better go check on him he goes into his speech with her he's like i'm a man of honor I stand up to bullies Here's the thing I could see
Starting point is 00:53:59 Maybe you've been bullied In your childhood Maybe you've dealt with shit like this Maybe you're fed up I respect that All right If you've taken it upon yourself To not get pushed around anymore
Starting point is 00:54:08 That's fine I have no problem It's the same type of behavior That we saw last year That you would think after all of that When people just didn't want anything to do with you You might be thinking Hey maybe I don't go about things this like
Starting point is 00:54:21 Yeah And you're just doing it to different people now. Austin has removed himself from your life entirely to not be around you so that you don't go after him. Madison's route moved to himself entirely. And Madison was one of his biggest allies. Exactly. And all the people that you've affected are now just removing themselves. So you're going after other people instead of saying, hey, maybe I should stop doing this.
Starting point is 00:54:41 Maybe my life would be a little bit better. Maybe I could stay on the show for a little bit longer. Now, I'm not going to do any of that. I'm just going to stick to what I know and what I do. No. And, you know, even if it's just for this. reason when vanita's like Craig asked you not to do this and you agreed to do that i was real taylor wasn't ready for it because you're not the one to tell her okay again this could have been
Starting point is 00:55:05 broached by somebody madison would have been a great person to do this he's not she's not like exactly close with taylor but we did see that scene last year over there in jamaica where she's like look i feel for you i've been through some shit too yep get your shit together was a great conversation Madison, like, you know, it was sympathetic, but also was like, dude, let's go. Pick it up, figure it out. Madison would have been a great person to deliver this. Hey, just want to let you know this is what's going on with your guy. Anybody else, honestly, Craig would have been a fucking better choice.
Starting point is 00:55:32 Fucking Molly. Get the new guy. Get Ryan to tell her. Anybody else but JT. Because of what you said, you tried this all last year. You had this whole trope. Everyone's letting you know they don't want to hear it. And when he gets on his high horse, like, oh, there's just something fundamentally wrong with the truth.
Starting point is 00:55:47 Like, people don't want to hear the truth. It's not that. First of all, no, people don't want to hear the truth when it has to do with something negative about somebody they love. So to do that effectively, you better have a really gentle approach that's going to get through to them
Starting point is 00:56:01 or at least leave it where they can figure it out on their own. Don't press them in front of a group of people that don't know her and try to get your point across and be the arbiter of truth. No one asked you for that role. No one appointed you.
Starting point is 00:56:14 No one voted you. Fuck off. Nobody wants to see it. And we get a reminder. after JT's had a decent stretch over the past few episodes where he's just kind of staying out of things and being normal. A quick reminder, this is who he is.
Starting point is 00:56:25 And it's hard to justify any of that. Just because you lean on the quote-unquote truth, you can tell the truth and still be a piece of shit, as we see here. And look, just because the show sucks right now, doesn't mean that this is good. No. It just gives us something to talk about,
Starting point is 00:56:38 but we don't want it. No, I'm good without it. But let's get to some questions. Oh, boy. There's a lot of questions in here about Shep and Molly. we see it too guys uh well yeah yeah a lot of them jesus uh live tate asked molly with craig or molly with shepp she makes more sense to me shepp makes more sense yeah uh kelly d 512 i want molly to get as far away from shepp as possible don't even think about it we agree with that as well just because we
Starting point is 00:57:08 say they're cute together does not mean we also said that you know she shouldn't do that she can do way better than Shepp. Especially she's like trying to like rebuild her life and figure out the next step. Like that's not the guy you need. Uh, from L underscore Biolus 10. Is it just mirroed as Gastone
Starting point is 00:57:27 seem more manipulative than Shep was with Taylor? That's interesting because we saw all of the manipulations with Shep and Taylor. Yeah, we haven't seen enough. It seems like he's on course for that. We've seen striking similarities. Without him even being on camera. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:42 So you might be. able to say that he might be more manipulative. I don't really know what this. I think I kind of know what this means. From K. Higgs-23, Sally's a medical device tech. The surgeon uses the tech, not her. It feels like she misrepresents it. So, robot doctor.
Starting point is 00:57:59 I can see what you're saying. So she... The way that she presents it is somewhat... As if she's... I guess she's probably in the operating room in case the tech fails. So she trains the surgeons how to use the technology. Yeah. That's what I have.
Starting point is 00:58:13 have gathered. So I don't know if she's misrepresenting. Look, she does very well, and it's a cool job. I don't want to knock her occupation. Yeah. From Tina Geisler, if you had to room with a cast member for a year, who would it be him? Why? Oh, Craig, because he would do his own thing. I would have to worry about him. Yeah, Craig is a very easy answer to that. He'd be working all day. Rooming with is tough, too, where it's like, yeah, like, if you were friends with somebody, you pick somebody who might be fun to hang out with
Starting point is 00:58:46 but living with somebody yeah it would probably have to be Craig just because he won't be there yeah he'll be doing other shit and I can Ryan because Ryan is physically not there yeah uh what's another option I don't know I don't want to live a chef I don't want to live with Whitney you couldn't pay me to live with Whitney
Starting point is 00:59:02 yeah you'd have to go live with Whitney no that's my nightmare I could just see it now there's probably like a trap door under the stairs that he puts people in yeah I'd imagine he's probably got a hole like buffalo bill I'd go live with Madison and Brett. Oh, I want to live with Madison and Brett. Yeah, we want to live with Madison and Brett. And then Brett will make us pancakes in the morning.
Starting point is 00:59:21 And then one last one here, not a question, but from Kekles. Was it Kweckles or Kekles? Fuck. I don't remember. I think it was Kekles. I thought it was Kweckles. Ah, fuck. Give us more Vanita.
Starting point is 00:59:32 I know you all agree. She's such a highlight. We agree. And we don't want to see some shitty romance story with J.T., which I think we're going to say. We know how it ends. Like, why are they doing that, too, in the post edit, too? they're making it seem like it's really sweet and nice and like we know what happens
Starting point is 00:59:46 don't do this stuff you know what just is for Vanita she's gotten the worst fucking edit for multiple seasons she clearly can bring something to this show she's captivating she's nice she's fun she's funny let's show some scenes of Vanita that prop her up rather than throw her in and loop her in with people like JT
Starting point is 01:00:02 or like the big scene you have is her almost drowning can we just bop around with Vanita the fact still that we didn't get to see the relationship with Manny play out when he went to go on Broadway, then she ended what she thought was like her forever relationship. And we don't even discuss that.
Starting point is 01:00:18 It's a fucking one-off. Justice for Venita. This is bullshit. Get her away from JT. Let her have her own storyline. See how it goes. Because guess what? The rest of this cast right now is not doing their fucking job.
Starting point is 01:00:30 She's showing up to work. Show it. Show it. Justice for Vanita. Justice. But, yeah, that's all we got here for questions. You got anything? No.
Starting point is 01:00:40 No, I think I got everything out. now it's frustrating to dive back into like i was over talking like this you know last season yeah it's played out dude it's so tired and that's happens i guess that's what's crazy to me is that like you would think that j t would grasp that on his own yep and be like oh maybe i shouldn't do this and he just can't help himself but no i don't have anything else how about you nope nothing at all that's our show bros got to go bro bros are out of here hey all the all the things bye i love you The Old West is an iconic period of American history and full of legendary figures whose names still resonate today.
