Bros & Shows - Justin and the Rack....of Lamb (Southern Hospitality Full Recap)
Episode Date: April 21, 2026What's up bros?? We're back for what turned out to be quite the random episode of Southern Hospitality with Justin & Mia's date taking center focus and a discourse that left us scratching our heads. I...f we know anything about Charleston, there's no shortage of f-boys and inter-friend dating, so excuse us if we thought that was just expected behavior. What we didn't expect however was Lake taking quite the strong stance on Mia being a "girl's girl". We might need to retire that phrase moving forward because it's getting confusing to say the least. Well, we can at least say we were marked safe from an Emmy being racist episode.
We still have to start it off this way.
I mean, it's not going to go away.
However, we did not see the new weird villain pop out.
I don't really even know what to make of it.
But we'll figure it all out.
Yeah.
At least I don't have to start it out by saying Emmy's racist this week.
She's still racist.
She just wasn't racist this episode.
This week.
Yeah.
Yeah, there's like a three-day stretch there.
So progress?
Yes. Maybe. Probably not. Let's dive in.
As there's a drive in a deep left field by Castellanos, it will be...
Oh man, it's 8 o'clock.
And so that'll make it a...
I don't need the spotlight. I shine just fine.
Hi, I'm Karma. And yes, I am a bitch.
Brav Bros.
Good evening, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Brav Bros.
Your favorite podcast from The Bros. For everybody.
For whoever wants to listen, I'm your co-host, Steele Russell, joined as always by
the one and only,
uh,
Goots,
dukes.
Why?
Why?
Zach Stacks is it?
Goots.
Oh, okay.
All right.
All right.
I see what you tried to do there.
If I had more time,
it would have been better,
but that's not terrible.
It's not great.
Yeah.
No,
it's not great.
Yeah,
it's really not great.
Um,
yeah,
I mean,
this is the first time that we're seeing Zach Stacks.
I don't even know,
didn't even know that that existed.
But here we are.
I think I would,
because remember they had a bunch of shit.
Something happened, like, right when they opened.
There was a bunch of bad press, and I can't remember what it was or why it was,
but I do remember that something happened, like, right when they opened.
They caught a lot of shit.
I don't know.
I'm not even going to say what I was just thinking, but the big thing, I think the biggest surprise in this whole episode,
did Levis say she was 46?
Is she?
She looks great.
She looks incredible.
It's wild.
I was so taken aback by that.
Yeah, but not like a super eventful.
I guess maybe the barometer is just like when Emmy's doing Emmy things,
that's kind of what you expect and when that doesn't happen.
You're like, oh, there wasn't a whole lot that went on.
But I think the main, not concerned, but the main thing that happened in this episode
that I was very confused about is that a lot of other people took center stage and I was very
confused by that.
Like, why do we care what Jordan thinks?
Why are we why is Lake involved in any of this?
What's going on?
Can we get back to like the normal stuff about this show?
Yeah, I'm going to chuck a lot of it up to the fact that Lake is like 22, 23.
We always give her that pass though.
Yeah, I don't want to be patronizing either.
It's just the involvement in the stuff that she was involved in this episode has nothing to do with her.
Like it was so weird to me that she kept pushing shit.
It's like, dude, I don't know if you want to get more involved or I, I,
I don't know.
I'm getting the vibe that she's kind of going through something right now between her shit with Michaels,
between her shit with a lot of people.
She does not seem the same as she did last season.
She seems a little preoccupied maybe.
I think something's going on.
Is there something going on or are we finally realizing why her and Emmy are friends?
Because I also had that thought.
I'm like, oh, maybe we're actually finding out why she likes Emmy.
and it's because she's also messy.
I think that, like I said earlier,
and you even said it like,
we'll chalk it up to her being 22, 23.
That's what we always do.
At some point,
we're going to have to try her as an adult.
And I think it might be now.
She might just be annoying as shit.
Like,
it's a possibility that she is just really annoying.
And I don't really care too much to,
uh,
to dig too deep into that one.
But very,
very head scratching episode for Lake.
It was.
It was.
That's the best way I could put it to.
Let's jump in because they're actually,
there is a lot to talk about.
It's just kind of sporadic and not what we're used to talking about with this show.
But we start out at Republic and Joe and Maddie are still awkward as fuck.
As we know, they had a little bit of a falling out last week because Joe was out and about,
quote, unquote, networking at two in the morning at Lamar's, aka getting drunk at Lamar's at two in the morning.
But that's still awkward.
And you can tell that they haven't talked yet, as Joe even tells us they haven't talked yet.
but he's still like and you almost got to give him credit in a fucked up way that he maintains
this lie by omission that like somehow he's not in the wrong because i didn't like tell you i was
going to work i didn't tell you anything like it's not my fault yeah this was some really
dumb shit by joe and this is like saying it out loud should be enough to be like oh yeah okay
i'm totally in the wrong but to hold on to it and be like well you
you know, networking and I was lying by omission.
You can't, if you say out loud that you were lying by omission,
it kind of becomes null and void at that point.
And you just confirms that you were lying and that was your intent.
If you don't and then somebody claims that you were lying by omission,
you could always deny that later.
But to say it yourself, you're just admitting that you were lying.
So you should feel bad about that.
And it seems like he doesn't because he just,
he does the spin that we've seen a lot where he's more like,
I'm very open with Maddie.
She has my location.
She knows like just because she has your location.
yeah, she figured it out.
But if she didn't have your location, would you have told her?
Yeah, I was working.
And then I went to Lamar's until 2 a.m.
And then I got home and I got really drunk.
Like, would you have told her that?
Probably not.
So then you should be able to figure out from there.
Okay, yeah, I'm fucked up.
And I think this was a really good episode because we didn't really know, you know,
obviously Maddie with, you know, being sober and being triggered and having a lot of
those like the lying boyfriend issues pop back up.
It's almost one of those like, it could go either way.
Like we don't know what version of Maddie we're going to get.
Is she going to completely pop off?
Is she going to completely shut down?
Or is she going to kind of talk her way through it as we've gotten used to her doing?
This was the last of those three.
This was really good.
I think that you can tell where her head is and all the work that she's been doing.
Like she's not jumping to conclusions.
She's just more so taking her own space and then figuring out what she wants to do about it
and the best way to go about it before she goes about it, which honestly, that's really mature
and that's really cool by her.
Yeah, she's definitely in a great place.
You can tell just in her own personal journey,
we love to see, especially because she's so open about recovery and all that.
So I love those scenes, like, genuinely.
But Joe, when you say she knew who she was getting in a relationship with, I love to drink.
I love to party.
Yeah.
I'm going to go ahead and just flip the mirror.
Hey, Joe, you are dating somebody sober.
You knew who you were getting into a relationship with.
And she still lets you go do your thing.
Like, that's not her issue.
Her issue is the lying.
Joe still thinks, and Joe is trying to put on TJ and other people, that the issue is the booze.
She's concerned about the booze, but that's not what she's mad about.
She's mad about the lie, dude.
And you still haven't taken accountability for the lie, dude.
That's the problem.
Yeah.
Yeah, in this entire episode, he does not take accountability for the lie and even goes,
and we'll get to the scene with TJ, but not the best advice, but also.
And an enabler.
What an enabler.
Yeah.
I'm not, I don't know.
I don't really want to label him as an enabler.
I think he is probably.
Not a booze enabler.
I just mean like he enables Joe's behavior.
Correct.
Yes, yes.
I knew what you meant.
But it's more like there's a chance that he doesn't know the full story.
There's a chance that Joe is holding some information back from TJ that we didn't
really see.
We're just assuming he knows the whole story.
But I don't know.
I think he knows enough based on that conversation that he should be able to be like,
dude, come on.
What are you doing here?
exactly now lake and jordan in this whole situation starts like this sets the tone because before we
even get to the next scene she's like are you going to talk to the devil it's like no people
figure out who he is eventually lake says he's on dead ice what did he do to you like i get that
you're backing up your girl like that's fine but yeah but immediately i'm like okay well
she's getting involved i think more so than she needs to she's going to
get very, very involved.
When you check in with Justin about what's going on, he's like, you know, I think Jordan's been
going around telling people that we're more than we are.
Like, I don't really know what's going on.
The fact that she would come over and say this is tough for me to defend Jordan's stance.
Not that there's anything wrong with this, but this sets the tone for what this situation ship was.
And that's okay.
She comes for the three Fs.
We have fun.
We fuck.
And you feed me.
that to me does not sound like a relationship.
That sounds like a situation ship.
Yeah, that's,
I think to the letter of the law,
that's a situation ship.
It's in the book.
It's in the manual.
Yeah,
I think if I had to guess what's going on,
like,
because we haven't really seen,
not that Jordan's like a main character,
even really part of the show that much,
but we haven't seen her going around saying,
like,
we're boyfriend and girlfriend,
we're close,
we're working on a relationship or anything like that.
So I don't even know if she's doing that.
I think if I had to guess,
other people are reacting much like Lake for her.
and now she likes the attention
and she also likes one,
that she's being part of the show
and two,
that other people are on her side
and saying the justice is the devil.
So now it's sort of like
that perfect storm of,
uh,
yeah,
I could stop all this and just be like,
it wasn't that deep and he's kind of an asshole
and he was clearly like flirting with other girls
when I told him not to hook up with anybody at Republic,
not to hook up with any of my friends.
And he just kind of went past all of that.
You could focus on that and be like,
yeah,
Justin's a bit of a fuck boy.
Okay, great.
But instead it's like,
whoa,
I can't believe he'd do that to you.
And you're like,
should I be feeling,
upset about, maybe I should be feeling pretty upset about this. You know what? Go, go fight my battles,
girls. I appreciate that. I think Mia said it the best later. She's embarrassed and she wants somebody
to, to point at because she's embarrassed. And look, he did embarrass you. And that's his fault. That's
not you, Jordan. That's a Justin move. But you're misplacing your anger. Justin's getting no smoke.
Zero. No. None. All he's getting is like talking behind his back saying, you're on thin ice, buddy.
like that's all we've gotten yeah this is classic charleston if i've ever seen it i mean how many
times we've seen this on southern charm every season fuck boy does something fuck boyish uh girl
catches the heat correct tail as old as time in charleston apparently yeah we'll see it all shake
out but we do get to check in with michael's and his photo shoot for so dot gay got the cover
and it does look like from scenes from this season that he's going to continue down this path
of influencing.
I don't know what dating app he got banned from,
but I'm very much looking forward to that scene.
Yeah.
But I mean,
it's really cool.
You get to see him kind of in his element.
He looked fucking awesome.
He looks great.
Kind of like a sexy matrix or something is the vibe that I got.
But the big thing is he wants to share this with his mom.
And we know that this has been an ongoing issue.
Him and his mother have been kind of distant.
She didn't agree with his life choices.
She didn't agree with his sexuality, a lot of issues there.
But I guess in the off season, especially,
they have started to piece this relationship back together.
She's come to Charleston, get some dinner, shit like that.
So he tries to call her at FaceTime her.
She refuses to answer because she knows that he's filming.
And that made me really sad for Michaels.
Yeah.
Because I think he wanted to show the audience and everyone on the show,
like, look where we've gotten to.
and then we're kind of back at square one.
Yeah, and I don't really want to speculate too much on this
because we don't know a whole lot about his mom.
I mean, he's taught us a lot about their relationship.
He cried at the reunion last year.
If I had to speculate, though, I would say she didn't want to look bad.
And she realized that last year when he was bringing all that up on national TV
that it was making her look bad.
So then she started to make more of an effort to not look bad.
But when push comes to shove and she actually has to show up for something,
something. She didn't. And look, maybe it'll change. Hopefully it'll change for Michael's sake.
But this, in this one instance, the one example that we have so far this season, the one example
that we have after their whole issue that they had last year and the five years prior, this is all
we have to go off of. And that's what that tells me right away is now you have a chance to actually
show up and you're all talk. And it's all smoke that you're blowing up your son's ass. And that sucks.
It does. It really does. I hope strictly for Michael's sake, like you said, I don't personally care.
care.
You know, if she's going to treat him like shit,
I hope he's able to separate and move on.
But for his sake,
I hope she's able to figure it out and they can mend this relationship
because Michael's rocks.
And he shouldn't have to deal with this shit.
But time will tell with that one.
And then we get the TJ and Joe.
They're going for a little Botox and a little facial scan
to see what their skin age is or whatever.
And Joe's like,
it's been a rough week.
And the way that he says things,
like pisses me off.
it's been hard to date the sober girl recently
okay joe what the fuck dude
like what is that label
because she looks to me like I was on some giant bender
motherfucker no
you lied to her and you were drunk at a bar
and you said you weren't
that's the problem this is not rocket science
this is very cut and dry
this is very cut and dry that's all she's
and look they haven't really talked to be honest
but all it's telling me is he's worried that further down the line,
she's going to be able to give him an ultimatum.
It's either you continue to drink or you date me.
I think that's what he's doing and he's trying in his own weird way to create boundaries.
Like, no, no, no, you're not going to come from my drinking because I still have a good head on my shoulders.
And I'm doing it.
And you're not, but you're going to come.
I said the same thing.
Yeah, exactly.
But I mean, you're going to sit there again.
Like, I'm not going to label him as an alcoholic or anything like that because Maddie's not.
Maddie's just saying you lied to me.
You said you were at work and you weren't at work.
And I don't care what kind of semantics you're going to play.
And I'm not going to sit here and tell you that going to Lamar's until 2 a.m.
is the same thing as working.
I don't want to get into that argument with you because there's no point.
There's really no point to get in that argument because Joe's got his feelings on the matter,
which is wrong, by the way, we'll just call that out.
He's wrong.
Maddie is right.
And the way she's going about it, and we obviously get that POV where we get to look in and see how
Maddie's actually dealing with it.
she's trying to come to grips with the lying.
And you're here talking to TJ saying,
she's coming from me because I'm drinking and she doesn't drink.
And I knew this was always going to be an issue and she's going to keep coming after me as long as I'm still drinking.
And look, she knows who she dates.
And TJ in this scene, again, he has enough information.
Again, Joe's not really focused on the lying aspect as much as he should.
And maybe he doesn't really know because he is a little stupid.
But when TJ comes into it, he's like, dude, come on.
Like, you're fine.
I see you doing all the things that you need to be doing.
you're doing, you're showing up for work, you're out there, you're talking to people,
you're getting people to book tables at Republic and everything's going really well.
She'll get over it.
It's okay.
You don't have to change anything.
I see who you are.
Why?
There's no point in going down that road.
No, I mean, you could acknowledge that he's made changes.
And maybe he has.
I would assume he has to some degree, and that's great.
But to completely co-side and pretty much say, like, yeah, Maddie's overreacting.
She'll get over it.
is dumb and enably.
But the big thing I'm getting from Joe is he's trying to rationalize every single
thing in his life so that he doesn't have to face the fact that you are falling behind.
You're not showing up.
You're not present.
You're not doing the things that you need to do to move forward in your life.
Maddie is trying to help you get there, trying to help you grow up and say,
hey, dude, you've got responsibilities.
you want to open up a bar.
You don't do that by quote unquote networking at Lamarza 2 a.
You do that by going home, going to bed and coming back into work the next day,
rested, working your ass off and approaching level with ideas.
So Maddie's in your corner trying to help you move forward.
Every step of the way when you do some stupid shit,
you rationalize it in your head that you're not the problem,
that everything's okay.
You're planning a 30-year-old birthday party that you sunk five months rent into.
Well, on the other side, you're in a confessional saying,
Levin needs to give me more responsibility.
No, because why?
You're not showing up.
You're not doing the basic things.
You're late to work, dude.
So no.
And you can't just explain it away because it makes you feel bad to actually look in the mirror and realize like, oh, fuck, I'm floundering.
Stop floundering.
Grab on to Maddie's coattails.
She's trying to pull you out.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think that's kind of where we are right now.
Joe's in the throes of trying to come to grips with the fact that everybody
else is moving on and he's not and I think deep down he knows that this party is just self-serving
and he wants to do something and show up for the cameras and show everybody how nice he can be
and like how great of a person he can be and what kind of party he can throw and then he probably
concocted the plan of like oh there's a byproduct here I can show leva that I can really do this
if I set my mind to it leva is not involved again we talked about this three episodes ago you should
have tried to bring leva in and said look this could be a great opportunity if we have for public
and we have Lamar's or we have whatever,
just co-sign this,
just sponsor the event and do whatever you want
and then get your name out there
and it could be a big deal, whatever.
You didn't bring her in.
You just wanted to show her, again,
this wasn't your plan for the beginning,
but you're now like, oh, I can show her
that I can stand on my own two feet and throw an event.
She doesn't care about that at all.
Like, that's not how this works.
You thought of this idea and then said,
oh, wow, this is a good opportunity for me and Leva.
It's not because of where you are.
Maybe if you guys were in a better place and you were showing up all the time and you were booking tables and doing your job and still being Joey Bottles that you were a couple years ago.
And then you said, hey, by the way, I'm working on the side to throw this party and you don't actually sign her in to do anything.
She can see like, wow, he's able to balance all of these things.
He's showing up to work and doing a great job and he's doing this.
That's incredible.
Instead, you're not showing up to work.
You're getting drunk at Lamar's until 2 a.m.
You're pissing off your girlfriend and you're planning this event on the side and putting a lot of work into it and a lot of money into it that you're.
shows me that you're irresponsible. It's the opposite of what you think it is. Exactly. Yeah,
exactly. And, you know, I don't know where it's going to go. Like there, there is a place
where I do believe that Joe could be great at this. I think Leva's on to something. Like,
I do think that Joe with his own place could make it successful. He does have that thing. He's
got that, that it factor. People want to be near Joe, and that's great. Use that. But stop making
excuses because you know you're fucking up.
You know you fucked up.
And then you're trying to reel it in.
Be like, well, no, not really.
No, you are fucking up.
Clean it up.
Yeah.
Let's get to the beginning of this very confusing debacle that we're currently in with
this situation ship because this sets the tone a little bit.
Molly and Lake are talking.
We're planning for the sip and paint.
Lake was entrusted by Levin to throw an event at Zach's Dax.
And she's going to do a sip and pain.
I think this whole thing's a great idea.
and to her credit, it looks like it went great.
Like people showed up,
but it was fun,
interactive,
all those things.
So she did her job.
But as they're planning this whole thing,
the Jordan,
Justin thing comes up.
And she's like,
you know,
Jordan's really tweaking about the Mia
and Justin hooking up thing.
Molly doesn't remember.
And we get camera footage.
Now,
this could be production.
We don't know the time frame,
the timeline,
or anything like that.
But during the smoochin,
there is a short,
of Molly knocked out.
She's in bed.
She's passed out for the night.
Didn't make it to the kiss part.
So she doesn't remember what happened.
Now, Lake spoke to Jordan and she understands why she's so upset.
It's like, okay, tell us, because I don't understand.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I just figured that she, you know, fell for this dude and assumed that she could be the one to
change the fuck boy.
It's a tale as old as time.
Then you get fucked by the fuck boy.
I mean, it happens time and time again.
but kissing your friend is not a good person and your friend that kissed that person is not a good person.
Okay.
Jordan literally says, I thought it was real for a second.
Now, we don't know what Justin told her.
I hate to defend a fuck boy.
I'm just going based off of what we've seen of Justin.
I haven't seen any lead on behavior.
Again, don't know what's going on by closed doors.
So I'm not going to say that he wasn't.
I just don't know if that was happening.
But the fact that she's sitting there saying no one's considering Jordan's feelings,
alluding to Mia and using the friend word,
Mia has made it very clear in front of other people as well.
I think Jordan was in the room one time.
She's like,
we're not friends.
She was.
Yeah,
she was over at Molly's apartment.
Yeah.
She is confirming there is no friendship here.
Okay.
And furthermore,
Charleston is Charleston.
This shit just happens.
People make out with everybody because it's a small town.
You're in the same age group.
You kind of smooch each other.
you boink. It is what it is. You're telling me that we can't have intermingling in the group
because Justin hooked up with one other person at Republic? No, no, no. That's not how these shows
work. No, it's not how these shows work and it's not how life works in Charleston. But also,
I'm an agreement with you about Justin because he's actually been consistent when he talks about
him and Jordan. He always refers to it as a situation ship. He always refers to it as kind of loose.
She shows up.
Yeah, we hang out for a little bit.
She knew that I was, you know, into Mia and she still showed up.
And then we ended up hooking up that night and I sent her on her way.
But he never once said anything about feelings.
Like, never once.
And we don't talk to, again, we don't really talk to Jordan because she's not really
a main part of the cast.
So we don't really know on her side what's going on.
But based off of what has been going on for the first six, seven episodes, is exactly that.
And he has been very consistent in labeling this as a situation.
And we have already had the discussion about,
how they do have a boundary where you don't hook up with any of my friends.
And then Mia confirmed we're not friends.
Mia doesn't work at Republic.
I don't know what the issue is here.
I really don't.
Jordan liked him.
And that sucks for Jordan.
Like, I'm sorry that he burned you.
Like, yeah, if he burned you,
I'm sorry that feelings got involved, right?
I don't want her to be upset about this whole thing.
But the way that Lake is spinning it now is so confusing.
I'm like, did he cheat on you?
Because she's like, you know, I did tell her that you were there for the kiss.
why did you do that? Why'd you set up Molly? Like she's not even part of this thing and then she's
going to tell her, you know, what you could do is go tell me I did not pursue Justin. What you could
do is not tell other people what to do and why would she get involved? Why are you involved?
It's all very strange. There's more to life than finding the perfect car. But finding the perfect

Now the survivors claw to what's left of a broken world, praying the darkness chooses someone else tonight.
But in the shadow dark, the darkness always wins.
This is old school adventuring at its most cruel.
Your torch ticks down in real time, and when that flame dies, something else.
rises to finish the job. This is a brutal rules-light nightmare with a story that emerges

Look, there are a lot of celebrity interview podcasts out there, but there's only one
Happy, Sad, Confused. I'm Josh Horowitz, and yeah, I'm the host of the show, so I'm a little
biased, but truly Happy, Happy, Sad, Confused is the place for nerdy and intimate conversations
with all your favorite actors and filmmakers. From Andrew Garfield and Scarlethousin to
Christopher Nolan, casting what ifs, backstage stories, and much more. Listen to Happy Sad Confused
on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Very strange.
I don't even understand this.
Well, we will get to the meat and potatoes of it in a little bit, but not before we check
in with the star of this show.
Julia is the coolest.
And she's so wise beyond her years.
And she's so chill.
And she has all the right answers.
And she sees perspectives, plural, because she's not going there and saying, like,
Maddie, you're right.
Fuck, Joe.
He's an asshole.
she's like, look, everyone's got their shit.
Joe's got his shit.
He's in the service industry, food and Bev, like this is par for the course.
He needs a guiding hand.
He doesn't need you to yell.
You need to understand where he's coming from.
He needs to understand where you're coming from.
And you two need to meet in the middle and move forward.
But you need to sit down and hear him out.
I was like, wow, she is awesome.
Like, how cool.
This is what sobriety looks like, everybody.
It's pretty great.
Yeah, it's pretty great.
And this is now two for two that we've seen Julia and Maddie sit down.
And you can tell how much Maddie trust Julia.
I mean, the way she's going about all of this.
And Maddie's genuinely listening.
She understands, you know, when she's ready, she'll have that conversation with Joe.
But to see Julia just kind of go about this in such a different way than anyone else on the show would is really cool.
Because it brings in like a different fold into all of this.
Like, oh, wow, this is somebody who you can actually trust when they say this.
Like, yes, of course she's invested because she's with Maddie.
But she's invested in Maddie's happiness.
She's invested in Maddie's sobriety.
so she's not going to put her in a bad spot.
So this is all really good advice that Maddie understands where it's coming from.
She's like, okay, you're doing this out of the kindness of your own heart.
You're doing this because you want me to find my way and you're helping me do all of this.
So just watching Maddie respond to everything that Julie is saying is really cool because, again,
Maddie was already there and that's part of this.
Maddie's already kind of going about this the way that she should be,
the way that's going to protect her mental health, the way that's going to protect her sobriety
and everything else and in her relationship.
But she's going about it and then sits down with Julia and she's already kind of clear-minded
where she's actually going to listen to the advice and say,
yeah, wow, that's actually a really good call.
I should do that.
And to have somebody like Julia who's going to be able to give both sides
and talk about Joe and what Joe might be going through.
Shows how much obviously that they talk and she's sharing all this information with her.
But when Julia comes back and she's like, you've got to give them a little bit of guidance,
just a little bit, just a helping hands here and there.
And that's all you need for somebody like Joe.
I think that's true.
I really do think that's true.
I think Joe's right now incredibly defensive because of what his situation is at work.
with everything going on, with everybody moving on ahead of him.
And now he doesn't really know what he's doing in his relationship.
I think he's lashing out and he's very defensive.
But I do think it'll stop again, Maddie going about it the right way is probably
going to put it into all of that.
I agree.
And I just always love hearing Maddie's perspective on things because, you know,
she highlights a lot of not untruths, but maybe stereotypes about people that are sober
where it's like, you know, just because you're sober, your feelings should be like
on lock, like you should be in control.
It's actually the opposite.
Like, we're used to not feeling shit.
So now we have to feel everything with no crutch.
It's actually a lot harder to navigate early on because you don't know how to deal with
your feelings.
We dealt with them with our substance of choice.
So I love that she speaks about that whole thing.
And I think the bigger picture here for her and Joe, like, I hope Joe watches this back.
I'm sure he did so that he can see, like, Joe, you want to get married and have kids.
Like, that's on your plan, your vision board for you and Maddie to do.
she's going to be more hesitant because now she's concerned she doesn't want to have kids with the town drunk
so that should be something that kind of causes you to pause i don't even think she's saying you're an
alcoholic but it has been multiple concerns have been raised about your drinking that maybe you need
to slow down this that the other at the very least to get your your business priorities in order
but you want to have kids and do all that shit.
She's talking about it,
but she's talking about why she's hesitant to do it.
So by doing the stuff that you're currently doing,
Joe,
you're pushing her even further away from your timeline.
Yeah, let's use a bit of misguided advice from Southern Charm
and use it here appropriately.
When Madison told Sally that she needs to act like a wife
if she wants to be a wife,
that was pretty stupid and didn't make it.
Oh, yeah, that was dumb.
It actually makes sense here.
Joe, you want to be a husband and be a father,
act like a husband and her father.
This is the way to go about it.
That actually makes sense.
It didn't make sense at the Southern Jarmer Union,
but it makes a ton of sense here.
Yeah, I like that way to,
we're just going, we got a lot of Charleston references.
Yeah, a lot of Charleston.
You're using the Charleston Bridge to gap it.
Hell yeah.
What's that bridge called?
I don't remember, man.
I've driven over it before, but I don't.
The Charleston Bridge.
It's probably just called the Charleston Bridge, to be honest.
I don't really know.
But we got a Surweener's event.
And we have a split screen here with the paint and sip getting set up.
It's the Raffin'all Bridge.
Shut the fuck up.
Yeah, you didn't know that.
I remember.
No.
As soon as I started typing it, I was like, oh, fuck, yeah.
Boo, that sucks.
Yeah.
They need to rename that bad boy.
I'm glad I got ahead of that because I could already see people on YouTube commenting, like,
Rappen Al Bridge.
Come on, guys.
Yeah, they're still going to do that, but it's okay.
It's still going to happen.
And then they'll get the follow up.
like sorry you guys got it but yeah good then we'll get a one star review these guys
don't even watch the shows they know what is it no historical background okay yeah
okay but as i was saying we have a split screen right here on one hand we're at republic
and they're talking about the sympathy on the other hand we got sir weiner is now at republic
they're talking about mea is she invited like i don't know i didn't invite her emmy out of left
field. Yeah, we ain't got no fake ass titties over here. Okay, dude. What? With why? Why is she talking now? Why is she involved? And I know the answer. She just wants people on her team to hate other people because she's miserable. But he's like three years away from Will saying, I want a wife that has fake boobs and her getting them. So let's be honest. Yeah. Honestly, it's only a matter of time. But there was a little bit of a soft launch if you want to call it that. I don't, I mean, there's a
not dating, but they, this was intentional, I think, because Justin takes a picture of his dinner.
Lo and behold, you can see Mia sitting in the back of the frame. Is it her face? No, but it's enough for
people to tell that it's Mia. What I don't understand is as she's looking at this picture, Lake's like,
that's her big titty, that's her split ends. What's your problem with Mia? Like, why are you so
invested in the Jordan thing? I had this inclination and I think she kind of confirmed it at the end.
has now done like a full repurpose of everything.
And now she's a girl's girl.
And now she hates girls who are not girls girls girls.
And that's going to be her stance, I guess.
But again, like you can be a girl's girl.
What does that mean?
Like if you live in different cities and somebody gets divorced, like you can't date that man,
even though you don't know that woman because you're a real girl's girl.
Like that's kind of the approach that she's going at.
Again, we've already confirmed multiple times that me and Jordan aren't friends.
And Mia didn't care.
And Jordan didn't even care when we were.
over at Molly's and we were talking about it. She's like, whatever. We're not dating. We had some
boundaries, but like it's okay. And Mia told her to her face that they weren't friends. Like,
we should have moved on from there. The fact that Lake is now getting back involved, it's,
I don't know. She's, she's got a weird problem with Mia that might come out at some point,
but I really wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't. This is just the stance that she's taking.
Yeah, but to say like, it's just fucked up, Mia does this shit knowing Jordan likes him.
She doesn't work there. She doesn't hang out with Jordan. She's not supposed to hook up with dudes
because somebody else might like them.
Like that's what you were saying with the divorce thing.
It's like these boundaries are ridiculous for any city, let alone Charleston of all places.
We know how much people intermingle here.
So it doesn't, it just, it doesn't make any sense to me.
Before we get really get into it, you just get Joe getting screened by Maddie.
He's starting to spiral because he's getting that pit in his stomach.
He doesn't want a loser.
Maybe that'll shake him a little bit and wake his ass up.
I would assume it's going to point him in the right direction.
at the very least, but he's panicking right now.
That's kind of where you want him anyway.
So, you know, sit in that for a little bit, Joey.
Yeah.
But let's get to the paint and sip officially.
It is a packed house.
So well done, Lake, it looks at a great event.
Jordan arrives, Leva's there.
She's impressed.
And Mia shows up.
I'm assuming Molly did actually invite Mia.
I think it's so funny that she walks in and Jordan is across the bar like
staring daggers through her.
Like, look who showed up.
to Mia even says, like, I don't know why she's so upset with me.
Like, be mad at Justin.
Like, he's the one that did this.
I didn't do it.
I'm not your friend.
You were smooching Justin.
He burned you.
Fucking yell at him.
And I love Molly being like, say hi to Jordan.
She's like, fucking why.
Why?
Like, why do I have to do this?
And Molly's just, I guess, just trying to keep the peace.
I mean, Jordan is her roommate.
So it's like, okay.
I don't want things to be too.
awkward. Lake's going to make them very awkward in a minute. I do think if Lake wasn't involved,
we'd probably just get to a point where Mia would say, like, look, I don't even know how I
feel about Justin. He was fun. It was a nice date. I don't think that there's really anything there
because as we know, Justin's dating Charlie from Southern Charm at this point. But is he not supposed to
date her because she was hanging out with Craig by Lake's thing? Different age bracket maybe. I don't know.
I don't know how any of that shit works. But yeah, I truly,
believe that it probably would have gotten squashed. And again, Jordan hasn't really given any
indication. Maybe she caught some feelings for him. Fine. Whatever. But I do think that she would
probably see it Mia's way and everybody would probably move on if it wasn't for Lake. Agreed. And now
Molly's in a weird spot. She's like, hey, I can't do this anymore. Mia. Like, I need your help.
Weird spot of her own doing. I know. Tell Mia to go for it and then immediately felt like shit.
She's like, uh, maybe I shouldn't have done that. And it was on camera. So I'm going to get
ahead of this, but I still know that was the wrong move.
So can you just like, can you just talk to Jordan?
Because I feel bad now.
This is kind of my fault.
It is your fault, partly because you co-signed the date.
But it shouldn't be your fault because that shouldn't have been a negative thing.
What you were intending to do worked actually.
Your intention was to show Jordan that this guy ain't shit, that he's going to fuck you over.
And you did.
So you did your job.
her getting upset at Mia for doing that is her problem.
And honestly,
probably a lake problem.
Lake is probably in her ear.
Like,
can you believe he'd do that?
And Jordan's like,
wait,
you know what?
Yeah.
Yeah,
Mia is gross.
Like,
what?
But Molly is now trying to clean up this mess.
And she's like,
can you please?
It was actually funny to watch because she's borderline begging.
Like,
Mia,
like,
no.
She's like,
no,
but come on.
Come on.
Come on.
Please?
No.
Oh, fuck.
Do you see where I'm coming?
from. Yeah, do you see where I'm coming from? Yeah. I think Nia says it best. Honestly,
she's like, I'm not putting my name. If I go over and apologize and acknowledge,
I'm putting my name on the line. Now I'm a homewrecker. Now I'm a problem. I didn't do
anything wrong. I totally agree. Even if it burns friendships. It's like, what do you want?
Why would she take this one on the chin when she's not really the villain? Yeah, I have zero idea.
This was the culmination of the head scratching.
I'm like, why?
This is such a big deal now and it never should have been.
There was an entire group of people at that lakehouse screaming outside for Mia and Justin
to make out.
Not one of them is culpable.
Shouldn't we be looking at all of them and telling them that they're terrible people?
They're probably closer to Jordan than Mia is.
Why is that not a problem?
We had T.J. and Michaels out there showing ass and telling them to make out and then they would make out.
that's not a problem.
They work with Jordan.
They have to be around there all the time.
But dudes never have to take that brunt.
Molly was in that house.
Maybe she was asleep.
Maybe she wasn't.
I do think she was actually asleep.
But either way,
she should be liable for some of this.
No,
it's just me.
It's just me.
The only person who's actually taking a stance and was like,
yeah,
we're not friends.
So like,
I don't know what you want me to do.
She's the one who's getting burned now.
But everybody else in that house that was cheering for them to make out,
they're fine.
No issue there.
Yes, correct.
I don't know why, but yes, that's correct.
Yeah.
Now, Maddie goes over to Leva to try to have a little Joe conversation to see how she can help kind of move him forward.
All Leva does is reiterate every single thing that Maddie's concerned about.
She's saying he's unreliable.
He doesn't take accountability.
He doesn't do this.
He doesn't do that.
Like, it's a problem.
I don't know where we are with Joe anymore.
Don't know where we stand, Maddie.
If you want to help him, teach him boundaries because you are so impressive with your boundaries and there's sobriety, all these great things.
Show him how to do that because Joe with boundaries is dangerous in a good way.
Boundary Joe could make some shit happen in Charleston.
Joey, Joey Boundaries.
Joey Boundaries is Charleston's next big thing.
He just needs to figure it the fuck out.
And everyone's that, I think that's why I get frustrated.
everybody's in his corner.
The whole fucking town is in your corner.
And yet you're still figure out a way to make other people the problem.
That's ridiculous.
Yeah, it's unbelievable.
It truly is unbelievable.
And again, Maddie's sitting down.
This is actually very funny to me.
She's not talking to Joe.
She is completely stiff-arming him.
And she's still going to Leva to talk on Joe's behalf.
Like, Joe should be watching back and seeing this and feeling like a.
complete piece of shit for being so upset and thinking oh wow i really got to put up a defensive front
here she's going to come from my booze i nobody comes for joey bottle's booze no dude she's trying to help
she's really trying to help you out and by going to battle for you with leva and trying to figure out
because now she can report back now she can go back and like there's a piece of me that thinks okay
she's talking to leva she'll use that when she has her sit down with joe and if push comes to shove
She'll start talking about how Leva talks about him, which, you know, that's going to be kind of tough to hear.
But I do think that she's going about it to try to help Joe.
Like at the very baseline, it's I need to help Joe because he's not helping himself that much.
And I know how Joe gets.
He's very in his head.
He doesn't really know what to do.
And this will help him out.
I'm giving him a lending hand by talking to Leva in a calm way and reporting back.
But if he doesn't want to hear it, then I will point out, Leva is pointing out all this shit too, dude.
So you've got to get your shit together.
Yeah.
She's got backup now, which is good.
someone to corroborate what she's telling Joe, so he can't try to vilify her.
He's going to lump her and Levin together and be like,
oh, you guys both have it in for me or something stupid.
But fingers crossed that the duo of Leva and Maddie saying the same thing
might actually get through his brain, we'll see.
But Emmy arrives to the sip and paint, paint and sip, whatever it's called.
And got T-boned allegedly.
I'm just going to assume that she's crazy.
and she ran something over.
That's allegedly.
I don't think she got T-boned,
but it is what it is.
It didn't look like a T-bone scratch either.
It looked like a side swipe.
But, hey, again, who am I to say?
I was confused.
She said she slammed or somebody slammed on their brakes.
The way that she was explaining,
it was definitely not T-bone.
I'll give you that much.
No, I'm very, very skeptical of this, but whatever.
Now, Jordan's talking.
And she says,
Mia didn't apologize to me.
Again, we're on the team of why would she?
And Emmy, weirdly enough, I think is in the right position in this whole thing.
Because she's like, oh, she's not going to do that.
She doesn't give a shit.
And in her confessional, I don't even think she's like taking Jordan's side.
She's just like, yeah, that's Mia.
She's not going to fucking do that.
It is what else.
Now, they're all sitting at the table.
Okay.
And Mia joins the table.
Molly slides in as well.
And Mia, I love, this is why Mia is like,
like one of the best on the show.
Whether you love her or hate her,
it doesn't really matter because she always gets to the issue.
She does not dilly-dally and she'll go right at it,
which we very much appreciate and very much need,
especially on this show.
And she goes,
Hey, Lake,
why are you being weird?
Why are you avoiding eye contact?
Like, what the fuck's going on?
She's like,
you didn't apologize to Jordan.
She's like,
for what?
And now you got Molly in a confessional.
Molly,
who's friends with Lake,
at least we thought.
and she goes, she's us at home.
Yeah.
Why is Lake in the middle of this other than stirring the pot?
Like, where the fuck does she fit into this Jordan Justin Mia sandwich?
Because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
It seems like she's just trying to poke and prod.
Molly's out now.
And she was trying to back you up, Blake.
Yeah.
I have no idea where any of this came from, to be honest.
I thought the avoidant of eye contact, I thought the stammer.
I thought the stammering was just going to kind of continue.
I didn't expect her to actually take a full stance.
I thought she was just going to say,
you're not a girl's girl,
or I can't believe you didn't apologize to her and just kind of stop there and be like,
you know what, we're not friends.
No, she went all out.
She decided to just go all out, call them bitches, call both of them bitches.
Again, I don't really know what Molly did.
Molly's just genuinely confused.
Like, why are you involved in any of this?
That's my roommate.
And I'm over here still trying to figure out what the hell's going on,
but you've got a firm stance.
That doesn't make a ton of sense.
And that's when she calls it out.
She's like, you know what?
You say that you want to stand up for women.
I haven't seen you do it once.
You're not a real girl's girl.
Okay.
All right.
Yeah, that's what this is.
Honestly, the biggest L she took in her argument wasn't even the girl's girl thing.
It's when the being a good friend comes up because Mia's like pointing across the table.
She's like, look, I don't know why you feel like you have to have some qualm with me.
I can have a conversation one-on-one.
Jordan and I can sit down and have a combo one-on-one.
She's like, he played your ass.
He's a dickhead.
He's not worth it.
Jordan's like, I know he's not worth it.
This could have happened one-on-one, and that probably would have been the end of it.
But no, we're sitting at the table.
And she brings up the fact that, like, she doesn't need a backup.
Lake, I'm not a backup.
I'm just a good friend.
Do you think that Molly is a good friend to Jordan?
This is where she shot herself in the foot.
Because she's like, I think there was moments that.
she was a bad friend to Jordan.
And this is the line right here.
What I value in real friendships and what I value in people are not characteristics that you guys have exhibited.
Okay, let's go back to Edisto.
Let's go back to Michaels.
Let's go back to Brad.
Let's go back to that whole situation.
You were not showing characteristics that I look for in a real friendship lake because you're telling everybody's fucking business.
So if you want to play that card, then you better be spotless.
And you're less than a week removed from being a bad friend.
So you can't take this stance of I'm a real friend.
No, you're going through something, I think, and you're lashing out at other people.
But this was so strange.
And she like, she seems to think she's dunking on Mia right now or something.
Yeah.
It's like, no, you took the L here.
Like you lost this interaction in a.
Big way.
You didn't even have to be involved.
I mean, you could have been there and thrown a great party.
And then this whole ordeal or whatever it ended up coming to would have been at your party.
Like, for reality TV, that's great.
That's exactly what you want.
You threw a good party.
It was a success.
Your boss notices the success.
And then something happens for the TV show at that event.
Incredible.
That's all you had to do.
And instead, you just took it to another level.
And I have no idea why.
All I could think about the whole time is like, Lake's mom is going to be so upset.
she's involved in this.
Why the fuck are you getting involved in white people's business again?
Why are you doing this?
Like,
poor Lakes mom is going to watch this back and be like,
what are you doing?
I just fucking told you.
Oh,
no,
that's fucking funny.
Yeah,
dude,
I mean,
that's how it ends.
Molly catches a stray because she's like,
oh,
we're not friends and why'd you ask me to help with the sip and pay?
I was coerced.
That's fucking shitty.
That's what Mia says,
too.
Like,
that's a fucking shitty thing to say.
And by the way,
we weren't cool before.
Smelia and Mia leaves.
Like,
yeah.
I don't know, dude.
Lake is putting herself in a precarious position because you don't have a lot of
ground to stand on.
And I do think that Jordan, Jordan's upset and sad.
She's embarrassed a little bit and she's taking that out on Mia,
but I think she knows in her heart of hearts that Mia is not the problem.
Given their interaction in this scene,
I don't think.
Jordan is holding me into the fire.
So that, that's crazy work that you're going so hard on Mia.
And Jordan pretty much was like, yeah, he did fuck me over.
We're good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
God.
Oops.
Oh, man.
Let's, uh, let's see what the audience thinks.
Yeah.
First up here, this is a fun one from Lem vibes.
There's probably only one answer, but which guy do you feel is the best boyfriend material?
I think it's Brad.
I don't think.
Definitely, Brad.
I don't think that there's another option in there.
Michael's maybe somewhere down the line when he's out of his hoe phase.
Yeah, down the road, I think so.
Yeah.
He's sewing his oats, so to speak.
From Sarah Polarty, is Lake in the second season slump.
This app was not a good look for her.
I didn't even know she was a candidate for a second season slump.
I truly didn't.
I didn't think she was going to be like a center figure on this show,
which, you know, maybe that's a good thing for the show because it's always rotating.
But I don't think you can call this a slump because everything she's doing is on her own.
Yeah.
And a slump indicates that it's only for a certain period of time.
This has been a seven episode slump, which again, to your point, like, didn't see this coming.
I really enjoyed Lake last year.
I thought she was great.
That's what leads me to believe.
Like, something's going on.
She's going through something right now.
And she's working it out, but it's not going so well in the interim.
From Bree Bird, are we over the girls saying that they're a girl's girl and then tearing me as lots of art.
Yes, yes, exactly.
That's this one goes to that to a stay.
Whose fake boobs hurt Lake?
What is her deal regarding fake boobs?
Yikes.
Oh, and also, I think less of Lake now for attacking other women's looks and body choices.
Agreed.
Yes, I agree with all of these things.
And that's what's crazy as somebody that's such an advocate.
And I do believe that wholeheartedly.
I do think that Lake speaks up.
I do think that Lake is an avid defender of the things that she believes in.
And that's further proof that she's going through something because, yeah, dude, you just tore down another woman for what she looks like.
Yep.
Like what?
You would never.
Not Lake last year would never.
Oh, man.
This is the question, honestly, from Marissa and Palma.
Is Lake good for the show or trying too hard?
I don't know.
She's going to a try hard phase.
If she can get equilibrium again, I do think she's good for the show.
Last season she was good for the show.
Sophomore slumps happen.
We see this a lot.
So it's not like this is something that we are ignorant to,
but she's going to have to flip a switch in some way, shape, or form.
Here's the interesting.
part. She could lean into this and go villain. And I'd be okay. If she's able to pull that one off
the right way, like that totally works, but that's a much harder route because you don't have a
lot of support that way. Or she can kind of come to Jesus moment and, and mellow out a little bit.
And I think that's more in regards to if she is going through something. But there are two routes
out of this. And they're both, both viable. Uh, we'll do one or two more here from the
Jolster. It feels like Maddie and Lake were just waiting for an excuse.
used to be mad at Mia.
I don't know why Maddie was mad too.
But Maddie was mad.
That could be unresolved issues with Mia.
Like maybe that apology didn't really hit that hard.
Yeah.
Was that folly?
I think we were not a folly.
Yeah, that makes sense.
So maybe, I mean, Maddie's got bigger fish to fry right now.
She's got a lot going on.
She has to deal with the whole Joe's situation first.
I think after that we'll probably get a little bit more clarity on how she feels about
Mia, but I'm not super surprised that there's still some feelings about that.
A couple more.
I got,
I got two that are quick.
I got a good one.
No,
I don't have any more.
Rachel Michaelis,
would you interview Joe Bradley for the pod?
Yeah,
we'll get Joey on here this season at some point.
And Lem vibes.
I like this one.
If G.
Lily was your friend,
how would you support her
without enabling bad behavior?
I would do exactly what Maddie's doing right now,
which is distancing herself.
Because Matt,
or G.
She's in the phase of her,
hopeful recovery where she needs to do it for herself and figure it out on her own because
Maddie's been a good friend.
She's also enabled some behaviors and she recognized that.
So she pulled away 100% the correct approach.
I defer to Maddie on that she's going about it the right way.
So I would do exactly what she's doing.
Yep.
I agree with that wholeheartedly.
But yeah, dude.
I mean,
fucking great show.
It's a great show like top to bottom.
This was such a curveball of an episode, but it was still great.
I don't know what to expect
and I love that.
I have no idea what's going to happen.
This was like in a like an actual scripted television show
when you're like wow, I can't wait to see the conclusion of this storyline
and then instead of seeing the conclusion they decide to go to like another episode
with the alternative characters.
And you're like, oh.
Yeah.
Okay.
But it's still good.
And you're like, oh, okay.
This is interesting.
But I do want to get back to the main storyline.
But this was good.
This was interesting.
This is enough to like keep us thinking.
It's like episode three of the last of us season.

Let's get started.
There are names that echo in the world of true crime, names that carry unanswered questions.
Oakley Carlson, a five-year-old girl who deserved safety, protection, in love.
The system built to protect her failed and Oakley disappeared.
Her community still calls her name.
Or Ellen Greenberg found in her locked apartment with 20 stab wounds.
A case declared a suicide.
But how does a locked apartment tell two different stories at once?
These are not just cases we have covered.
They are people.
They were loved and they mattered.
Their stories deserve to be told with care, with depth, with truth.
I'm Ashley.
And I'm Ricky.
We are the husband and white duo behind Crime Salad.
Every week we uncover stories of the missing, the silence, the misunderstood.
We ask the questions that were left behind.
We refuse to let these stories be forgotten.
Because behind every case is a family holding on a community seeking answers and a story that deserves to be heard.
We invite you to listen to Crime Salad.
Your healthy portion of true crime, wherever you get your podcasts.
Thank you.
