Bros & Shows - Rancho Carmello (RHOC Full Recap S20E8)

Episode Date: September 1, 2026

What's up bros?? We're off to the Ranch somewhere very far away from pretty much everything to see how Carmella lives and raises her children first-hand (ahem Vicki ahem) but not before our stop to ch...eck-in on how everyone wants the season to go and oh boy we're still trying this take down of Heather. Surely that will go well! Oh, also, Emily & Shane are in a hard place with their marriage and we're blaming the kids? or responsibilities? We don't know what's going on there or really care for that matter but again, still boring but not BAD. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, another week and another installment of, let me make sure my mic is right. It is. Another week, another installment of my favorite show, Real Housewives of Orange County. And boy, oh, boy, was this a great episode? I saw somebody on Thread say, I don't think the Brabros even like Bravo shows anymore. They just complain about them the entire time. I think you're only listening to the episodes. This is about half and half right now, but it's not awful.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Yeah, listen to next gen. said go listen to Atlanta. We had great times last week doing both of those. And we're also having a great time personally because the valley's gone. So just listen to those episodes. You know, it's just that some of the stuff we're putting out right now is just incredibly boring. And we have to spend the entire episode talking about what it means to be aggressive,
Starting point is 00:00:49 whether Heather walking in front of the pack means that she thinks she's better than everyone. Yeah. Pretty much that. thrilling stuff. As there's a drive in a deep left field by Castellanos. Oh man, it's 8 o'clock. And so that'll make it a... I don't need the spotlight.
Starting point is 00:01:12 I shine just fine. Hi, I'm karma. And yes, I am a bitch. Brov Bros. Good evening, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of Brav Bros. Your favorite podcast from The Bros. For everybody, for whoever wants to listen. I am your co-host, Steele Russell, joined as always by the one and only
Starting point is 00:01:32 Rancho Gozzo Where do they live? Rancho what? Cucumongo Harman or whatever. Ranch, that's what I wanted to say.
Starting point is 00:01:41 I know. That's such a fun town. That's just the best thing to say. I know. Rancho cuckamonga, which is a real place. Where is that? California, I believe.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Yeah. Somewhere. Pretty sure. Sounds like a Cali name, you know. Look, it looks like Carmel's house is beautiful. It just seems like she lives in the middle of fucking nowhere. fucking Santa Clarita, am I right?
Starting point is 00:02:06 Is that the new trope? Is that we've got Housewives and people on Bravo shows that live very far away in the middle of nowhere compared to where they're actually filming? Because that's kind of funny. Although, look, Carmela hasn't complained once, so I feel bad even doing that to her. That's a good point. But it is funny. You get the aerial view and you're like, wow, that's really cool. Wow, that's beautiful.
Starting point is 00:02:25 We're really close to San Diego. Is that even close to the OC? Kind of, maybe, not really. Is this house close to anything? no not really like two hours away like they were driving driving this one's like actual grape Santa Clarita that whole thing can get fucked but this if there was a couple complaints I would have understood there really wasn't even Vicky didn't really complain I was actually pretty surprised that everyone was like oh this nice house no one really said oh shitty drive which you would have
Starting point is 00:02:52 expected but I mean look first and foremost to the people that get mad at us for hate watching things at least we're honest. You know, we enjoy a lot of the shows on right now. I think that's probably why the hate watches have been a little bit more miserable because there are good shows on Bravo. Bravo's had a pretty solid year overall, I would say. So when we get bogged down by one of these, it's kind of annoying. But I will say this, because we got a few reviews that are happy to hate watches.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Yeah, it's pretty funny. But I feel like when we do a hate watch, it's funny because the majority of our listeners tend to enjoy them as they tell us in the comments the ones that don't always take it upon themselves to review us when we're doing a hate watch so if you are enjoying this do us a favor go give us a couple of five star reviews
Starting point is 00:03:46 and just be like hey we like this you know give us a little boost help us out a little bit because there's like three in a row it's like wow these guys are miserable and I also saw one there's a new trope apparently where it's like success has really gotten to their head. I'm like, how? Wait, hell.
Starting point is 00:04:03 I don't know. I don't know, but apparently success has got to our head. I feel like success would get to our heads in the way of all of a sudden we stopped covering Beverly Hills at OC. It's like, oh, wow, they must be doing really well for themselves. We don't have to do those anymore. Oh, God, that's really funny. And look, it makes me laugh.
Starting point is 00:04:22 It's, the timing is very funny, too, because we could get very miserable, very fast, football season is upon us. You want to see misery. Just wait. Let's see how the birds are. What could potentially happen this year, you know, compared to what we actually go through with the Phillies as well. So we could get miserable if you want to.
Starting point is 00:04:41 But I think it's just funny because you see those comments all the time and you see them like on threads or Twitter or whatever might be. And then you have to go to our comments, our DMs, our questions when we put up the shows. 90% of the people at this point, 90% of our listeners that listen to most of the shows. Like, hey, guys, we're checking out. but we're listening to your recaps. We appreciate you guys.
Starting point is 00:05:00 That's pretty much how it goes. Yeah. Yeah. So do us a favor. Go give us a five-star review on Apple. It would be much appreciated. We don't ask often, but every once in a while, just a reminder. But as far as this show goes, I have finally gotten past the point of like frustration watching.
Starting point is 00:05:16 Now I'm just like, okay, like, let's get this over. Yeah. And this episode, I think, embodies what OC has become. because it's so boring, one, two, the issues are so forced as we watch Emily trying desperately to force an issue with Heather. The funny thing is, I want to see Heather. I thought you were going to say Shane. That, I don't know why they subject us to those scenes.
Starting point is 00:05:45 Like, guys, just get divorced. Like, just. Like, you want a medal because she's like, she's pandering to us, the audience. Like, we're sticking it. You literally admitted you're sticking it out for the kids. Like, you just admit. What we've all thought, which again, like, if you're trying to do that because you think that's what's best for your children, do you.
Starting point is 00:06:04 I'm not here to comment on your parenting and marriage style. I'm just saying you have tiptoed around this idea that we've all been saying for years. Like, wow, you guys really fucking hate each other. And you're like, no, you know, we figured out. Like, we're working on it. We're doing this. You flat out admitted at this one where you're like, yes. Yes, we are strictly together because of the kids.
Starting point is 00:06:23 And sometimes it's fine. Most of the time, it's not. but I'm going to lead off the episode with complaining about my kids again because that's what I do. My name is Emily and I complained about my children. Yeah, that's pretty much what I got to. And I like that she does it under the guise of like a joke. And I'm not laughing at their misfortune because I agree with you. If that's what's best for you guys and that's what's going to be best for your family,
Starting point is 00:06:44 then yeah, go on and do it. The funny thing that always pops up in my brain is the way Emily operates, it's almost like she's giddy at the prospect of potentially divorcing Shane on camera. because it gives them content for their podcast and it gives them content for the show that she's desperately looking for. And we saw that last year. I would be fine if Emily didn't really show her personal life at this point. Like you can get mixed up.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Like in a weird way, I'm okay with what you're doing with Heather. Are you going about it the wrong way and it's not going to, it's going to end up being fruitless? Yes, absolutely. But at least you're trying to do something a little different. Like just live in that world. I'm okay with that. But then when we go to sit down with you and Shane for your 18th anniversary, whatever the hell it is.
Starting point is 00:07:27 And you're sitting there talking about your marriage. And it's just very contentious. It makes me feel gross. This isn't like, I think they just miss the beat. And this, it's not just Emily. I don't want to single her out, her out, but I think that a lot of reality stars miss it when we are invested in a relationship,
Starting point is 00:07:46 whether it's incredibly chaotic. We're like, holy shit, what's going to happen next? Or it's a relationship that we actually liked over the years. We're kind of invested in your breakup. No one has been invested in you and Shane being married for better or worse, whatever it might be.
Starting point is 00:08:00 So this isn't going to hit. You do. Yeah. And so this isn't going to hit. And especially after last year that your whole storyline with your kid left such a sour taste in people's mouths that you want to dip back into that well. I just, I think it's okay. And I know, there's obviously boundaries with you.
Starting point is 00:08:16 You want to share your real life. And when the cameras are up, I want you to be yourself and do the things that you would normally do and go through your life normally and see what happens. That's what reality TV is. I get it. but if you're a producer or showrunner or you're just close to Emily like hey maybe we'll just keep this one off no one's really invested in this one no one really wants to watch it it makes us uncomfortable and you've got shooter over here laughing at it because he knows you're using it for a storyline it's just not a good look no and look again I'm at that point where she's kind of like all right whatever they're going to do their thing yeah year it and year out it's just funny like it's gotten to a point where you watch it and it's just funny I agree wholeheartedly with the heather thing cool press that like I guess that I guess that I I agree. We're not going about it the right way. It's kind of shoddy and ill-prepared, but she's trying. And, like, that's what's kind of frustrating when they go after Heather, because the things they're saying aren't wrong, right? Like, like, yes, she does put herself above the group. Yes, she is pretentious. Yes, she thinks she's better than all of you. You could argue maybe she is, but that's not what I'm here to do. But when you go about it in this way, especially when it comes to Heather, If she finds out you're talking shit behind her back, shut down immediately.
Starting point is 00:09:31 She's not going to get into it. She's going to do her Heather thing. She's going to get righteous and give a speech. And she's going to either leave or just stop talking. If we're going to address Heather, just take whatever you have and just go right at her. Say, hey, here's what I think. Here's what I saw. Boop, boot, boot.
Starting point is 00:09:49 List it off. I think that's the best way to go about it because then you might get some support from the group as well. because the majority of this group is afraid to go against Heather. I don't know if it's because she's going to clap back harder or her indifference to everything just makes it not worth it because she kind of checks out. I would much prefer if we're like a laundry list of issues for Heather and we take that laundry list to Heather and just air it out.
Starting point is 00:10:12 Rather than the side convoes, then we broached the topic ever so slightly and nothing really comes of it. We've seen that time and time again. And I think we're starting to see that anyway because we've been waiting for Tamara to get involved in pretty much anything, and it's now episode 8. So this is the time to shine for Tamara.
Starting point is 00:10:30 And we think it's the mid-season trailer already. I know. Well, that doesn't mean. Shut up. It is so inconsistent. I was thinking about this earlier, so I just have to get this off my brain. It is so inconsistent.
Starting point is 00:10:42 Sometimes we get the mid-season trailer when there's like six episodes left. Sometimes we get it when there's 10. I don't know. So I am not putting any thought into that one, but I did get a little excited. It's like just that initial, like, Oh, okay. Maybe we are midway.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Maybe we are. Because honestly, that's the thing about this show. Yes, it's boring. And that's what most people are saying online. It's just boring. There's nothing to really grab onto. There's nothing that gets your attention and that you focus on and you're excited to watch the next week.
Starting point is 00:11:08 You're really just kind of keying in on somebody like Carmela and Vicki's return. That's really what we have so far. And Vicki, obviously, it's a very saturated Vicky market. I think it's kind of funny because we're watching her on Ultimate Girl's Trip and we're watching her here. you're starting to understand the whole Debbie Downer thing because she went from that group over there that was like, wow, you suck.
Starting point is 00:11:27 You just work the whole time. You're really annoying. You won't shut up about stupid things and you don't want to have fun. And then you get to OC and she's just instantly like, who called me a Debbie Downer? Don't you ever do that to me? It's very sore.
Starting point is 00:11:39 It's a sore subject for Vicki right now. So it does shine a light on that. So I'm okay with that. And then Carmela, I think, is doing a good job. And it just kind of shows you the social experiment that is the OC in their cast. Carmela came in, not part of this group, not friends with anybody there. She's herself, and I like the way she's going about things.
Starting point is 00:11:56 So I can kind of focus on that with the Vicky thing in particular, because we're kind of just jumping around these first couple of scenes. Like I already said, Tamara's talking about all of these things that are going on with going after Heather. But then we get over to what Carmel is going through. She's sitting on the Vicki comment, and I get it. I usually don't like the I want to sit with it and it didn't sit well with me. and that's a couple of days later, I'm going to revisit it. The way she went about it made a lot of sense.
Starting point is 00:12:22 If she's going to sit there, talk about it, and then talk to someone else. And that person being Heather, hey, I don't know really what to do. I'm still wrestling with that comment. Was she telling me a bad mom? Was she calling me out for those things? I'll bring it up to them. So now I'm like, yeah, she was. But now I'm going to go look at it and I'm going to see how she goes about it with somebody like
Starting point is 00:12:42 because if she goes about it the right way, she could kind of stir some things up and then maybe get some other people involved. And then we kind of start looking at what Vicki's saying, the way she's going about things. And that gets Vicki involved. It gets everybody else involved. And we know what we get when Vicki gets involved. If she does the stupid thing, which is like, hey, my feelings are still hurt.
Starting point is 00:12:59 I need another apology. Then we have the apology off, which I hate. So that's what I'm kind of paying attention to in this episode. But aside from Vicki and Carmela, I don't really know what else there is to really focus on it. Again, it just brings you back to why are there no real changes to this cast? We've had a boring product, a bad product in the past. last couple of years. We've gotten back to the boring status.
Starting point is 00:13:21 You've got to shake it up somehow. And something that they really need to notice. And again, I know they just do ratings watching and they're like, oh, it's OC. Everybody's going to tune in and just download this on their TiVo, whatever. But you've got to do something to make some entertainment. I agree. And I think that that's probably the issue that this show runs into time and time again is the lack of any kind of like real adjustment. I do think that adding Carmela, at least so far, I do think that she is a welcome edition.
Starting point is 00:13:46 I like her. I think that she brings more to this show. I think that she's interesting. I like the, that's the word contradiction. Yeah, sure. I don't go with that. She's just not the normal product you would see in an OC cast, right?
Starting point is 00:14:04 She goes against the grain, which I think is a good thing. It makes these ladies uncomfortable, pushes boundaries a little bit. And I think that she's really nice. Like she seems genuine on camera. I really like her. So that was a good move.
Starting point is 00:14:16 Maybe it's a step in the right direction. I don't know. But the whole Heather thing, her and Heather, because Heather reached out to Carmela to find an apartment for her daughter who's going to school. And Carmela has a whole list. Now, they meet at the Oponine group and they're talking about the whole thing. I had the same thought process as the rest of the cast where it's like, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:14:40 Isn't Heather like not totally cool with Carmela? And we've seen kind of a total 180. and I'm curious, why is she turning tail in a good way with Carmela and being like nice and buddy buddy now compared to what she was saying behind closed doors? Because this is actually a chance for a really good storyline. Because Heather was talking all kinds of shit. She was saying that Carmel is trashy, that she doesn't fit in this group. She was saying this recently.
Starting point is 00:15:09 Like they just had the event and Heather walked away. I was like, pooh, she doesn't belong here. That's juicy. I want to get into that. because depending on how Carmela responds to that and depending what kind of support she rallies from the group, we could see a divide that we haven't seen in a long time on this show and have some factions that are teeing off against Heather. My only thing, I'm 99.9% sure. Heather's going to get ahead of it. We see the scene from the midseason trailer where she admits that to Carmela.
Starting point is 00:15:40 So if I had to guess, Heather's going to try to jump the gun and not going to. in trouble for it by bringing it up first. But that has a chance to be something that I genuinely want to watch. Yeah, it definitely does. I wonder specifically with Carmela because there were a lot of initial reactions to her joining the group and, you know, Vicki led the charge or at least she was the loudest in the room. But it seems like everybody was a little kind of put off by Carmela joining the group, as they usually are with this group.
Starting point is 00:16:08 So I wonder if maybe, in my mind, I feel like Heather maybe put out some feelers because she knows people in real estate, whether she went through like Josh. flag or somebody else because we know op-and-hom group is part of it's selling sunset selling o c on netflix so there's definitely links somewhere in there that maybe she put out some feelers and she found out that carmela actually is good at her job and she has a good career and she does good things this isn't just a front or some weird thing where you know jean is going to question that i'm sure at some point once again it's not anything like that so maybe she got some sort of authentic feedback like oh yeah i love carmel she's great or what she does and she's good people so now
Starting point is 00:16:43 Now Heather's like, oh, okay, cool. Now I can be friends with her. I needed to get that out there and find out from people that I trust that she's actually good. And we'll get somewhat into that maybe at some point too. But that's another thing where I'm looking more at Carmela rather than Heather to see what her reaction is to something like that. And it's sort of a double-edged sword too because I want to see authenticity from Carmela because there's so little authenticity on this show that if she just laughs it off and she's like, come on. Like, what the fuck are you doing? We mean I'm trashy in what way.
Starting point is 00:17:09 And then we move on from it. I'm going to be happy because it shows me that she's just. just a normal fucking person at this point. But if she causes a stir and she starts going back at Heather, that's also good too. So it doesn't really matter at that point. It's just something to keep an eye on. And obviously because we're talking about it a lot in this episode and the rest of the women are talking about it because they think it's a double standard that Heather gets to do this
Starting point is 00:17:30 and then buddy up with her. No, we're going to get her because this is the season we take down Heather. I kind of wanted to blow up in their face. So it does seem like at some point in the next three, four episodes, whatever it might be, something good will come from this. And I don't know what it is. And obviously it could be the least entertaining, which is just Carmela and Heather laugh it off and move on and nothing happens.
Starting point is 00:17:50 But I really want it to just blow up in everybody else's face. I definitely see a world in which it doesn't work out for the group going after Heather, like you said. That's probably what I want to happen the most. And that's what I was referencing, Heather getting ahead of it and going and telling Carmela what had happened. I don't know if that's before or after Carmela finds out that she was saying that. It seems like that was the first time she heard it because she was like trashy, really.
Starting point is 00:18:17 That would be incredible because you would have the entire rest of the group and they're rallying the troops. And they've actually got a pretty big squad going up against Tether because Emily's talking about it. Tamara's talking about. He got Vicki on board. Shannon's saying a couple things or she's not really adding to it, but she's not saying so saying that. So you have a lot of the group that are kind of looking at it. Like, you know what? It is Heather time.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Let's go get her. But they're going to try to use Carmela as their ace in the hole because she doesn't know that she's been talking all this shit. It would bring me such joy to see Gina and Emily have this whole speech prepared, getting ready to throw their receipts at Heather. And Heather's like, oh, we already talked about it. And then they lose their minds because now they're going to go after Carmela for joining forces with Heather. And they're going to have a full blown meltdown. and they're going to have absolutely no direction to go in and just panic throttle. That would be delightful.
Starting point is 00:19:15 Oh, my God. That would be like music to my eyes. Music to your eyes. I like that one. Yeah, music to my eyes. I feel like it would be like pictures to your eyes. But yeah, sure. Yeah, whatever works.
Starting point is 00:19:28 What's the equivalent of music to your art to my eyes? Art, art to your eyes. Yeah, I like that one. That works for me. Yeah, I could definitely see it turning out that way. And then that would be great because, again, as certified Gina, Emily, haters, because of what they've done to us for the last couple of years, watching them just stall out and then be on an island by themselves, because you know what's
Starting point is 00:19:46 going to happen. If that goes down the way it would, even though Emily and Gina seem a little disconnected right now, they're probably still friends in some capacity, or maybe even if you want to go conspiracy theory, they're actually still great friends behind the scenes. You know, they're not talking about it on camera because they want to make it look like there's a disconnect, but they're really going after Heather together, whatever it might be. We've seen. We've seen. Gina go against Heather before and it caused quite the quite the issue for Gina where she
Starting point is 00:20:13 then had to grovel for about a year and it was fun at some points but most of the time it was just kind of pathetic to watch but I do want to watch everybody else just kind of cut loose like up Tamra's getting on board now a little bit again it's just because it's the only thing going on and timer's like okay I guess I'll get involved
Starting point is 00:20:29 in this one and I'll start questioning some of the things that Heather's doing but she's not going to question her to her face she's just going to get the rest of the women revved up once things turn out the way that they're probably going to turn out. Tamara's going to cut loose. She's going to still be friends with Heather. Shannon is already doing that.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Vicki's going to be fine on her own. It doesn't really matter. And then we'll just be looking at Emily and Gina just sitting over there. Like, what happened? I didn't see any of this going down that way. It's like, God, you guys are dumb and so bad at your jobs. I know. I want that to happen so badly.
Starting point is 00:20:56 I will say watching Shannon and Vicki go over budgeting and stuff actually was kind of fun. I enjoyed this a little bit. You kind of saw Shannon's eyes like, oh, oh, oh, oh. Shit. God. But I think what makes those scenes for me anytime it's Vicky, and I am not enjoying Vicky, but I do think it's funny just because of where she thinks she stands with both the audience and the people in the group, as though she is the voice of reason. And everybody wants to listen to Vicky, lecture you about your budget or your life insurance.
Starting point is 00:21:29 She literally thinks that she's doing everybody a favor. Granted, Shannon's appreciative of her doing this. and it probably is a good thing. I forgot about real for real. I totally forgot that was a Shannon thing. And no, you probably shouldn't have sunk all your money into it. I'm not going to knock you for chasing a dream.
Starting point is 00:21:47 But now that things are kind of settling, and we don't really know what your tenure on this show is going to be. We don't know what the tenure of this show overall is going to be. I'm glad she's sitting with Vicki. I think it's smart to sit with Vicki. Get your budget under control. Going through her budget, she doesn't really know what she spends on what.
Starting point is 00:22:06 That's alarming too. We need to, you don't need to have everything itemized, but a rough idea. Just something to be like, oh, okay, I shouldn't spend that much on this.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Got it. All right. Should not spend $3,000 a month on Uber and Uber Eats. No, you probably should not. Maybe she should be spending money. Oh, wait.
Starting point is 00:22:29 Yeah, no, that I, if it's Uber Eats, then you're just wearing you're lazy and don't want to go out. Please,
Starting point is 00:22:37 only Uber. If it's Uber's to to avoid driving drunk again, then yes, I am all for that. Actually, you're right. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:22:45 you spend as much money as you want all that, keep everybody safe. We'll donate, actually. No, I'll match. Fine, you donate and I'll match. Yeah, all right. We'll go with that one.
Starting point is 00:22:57 Yeah, I don't know. These scenes are always very funny. It just leads me to the same question with Shannon all the time. It's like, what are you doing? What do you do with any of your money? What's going on with any of this? You've been on the show for so long.
Starting point is 00:23:08 You didn't love hotel last year. You've done so many other things. You've got probably endorsement deals. I've definitely seen you on commercials. You post things online. Where's all that money going? Like if she just said, I'm giving all the money to my kids right now,
Starting point is 00:23:20 and I just kind of keep whatever I need to leave for myself. I'll give her credit for that. Fine. Whatever. Yeah, that's totally fine. That's neither here to her there. But at least no way you're spending on things. The only thing that she was sure of was how much rent
Starting point is 00:23:32 that she was paying for that house. And then they were putting in like all of the additional costs. Like, oh, yeah, you can't do that. You can't afford this. You can't afford that. And this was,
Starting point is 00:23:41 we always point out that the moments where Shannon's actually being genuine when she has that look on her face and then she goes to a confessional and she's like, maybe I should have sat down with somebody like a financial advisor or just Vicki in the least and just sit down and go through everything so I can plan accordingly. Probably should have that. Yes, you should have. You definitely should have.
Starting point is 00:24:00 But you'll be okay. Yeah. Yeah. From what it sounds like, she obviously does very well, as we know. Like, I'm sure her paycheck from the show is mid six figures or close to. It sounds to me like she has gotten to a point where she is paycheck to paycheck because of her very large bills. And yeah, that's not where we want to be, Shannon. But again, better like than never.
Starting point is 00:24:23 But anyway, we got to go and check here with Jen, Gina and Emily before we go to Rancho, Kuka, Carmel. or whatever it's called. I like that. These are the things that just, it's little stuff, right? I can deal with boring. Like you said, that's fine. If this is just a boring show now and it's not a terrible show, I can do boring. Where I get frustrated is the things that we get stuck on.
Starting point is 00:24:49 There is no reason in episode eight. We should be walking into a store looking for gifts and go, do they sell do your vibrators? Are you guys that big of a loser? Like, we gotta keep going back to this thing? Like you just make it insufferable because neither of those gifts were that big of a deal were still discussing it at this juncture and Gina. Just because you have a weird situation with Travis and his ex does not give you the expertise to speak on Carmela and her relationship with both her husband or sorry, her boyfriend and her kids. because Gina, you don't really know Carmela at all
Starting point is 00:25:31 because we've been watching the show and we've seen your interactions with her. So for her to say, they're not going to stay together, part of her feels stuck, you know, and he helps her a lot with her kids. No,
Starting point is 00:25:41 he doesn't. He doesn't. I think he does a good job. It's one conversation. It's literally just the one conversation that we had in Vegas where Carmelis said, yeah, I feel really bad.
Starting point is 00:25:50 He hasn't watched the kids overnight before. So it's not like he's like super hands on all the time. it was right from the get-go as soon as we walk in and they make the Dior and vibrator comment. Emily was joking. Now, me, after watching the first seven episodes of this season,
Starting point is 00:26:06 I don't want you to make jokes about it at this point because it's, it's tired. But I understand that a human level, you can throw a joke out there, totally fine if it was going to the right person. If you were out there with Tamara and Tamara was like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:26:19 that would be funny. But Gina, you can tell it still unsettles her. She's still like, yeah, let's make jokes about this at her expense. It's like, no, no, no. Emily's just making a joke that everybody's been talking about it in the group. Like, all right, yeah, let me toss this out there.
Starting point is 00:26:34 Whatever, it's a one-off comment. Totally fine with it. Gina's still upset about it. Gina still wants to go in. And then you go right into this conversation. It's like, you have no idea what you're talking about. You had one conversation. You talked about that.
Starting point is 00:26:46 You'd sit down at dinner with her. You start talking about her job. You kind of get over that, but I don't believe that you're really over that because you're still jealous of her. I know what you think about Carmela. I'd rather you just go completely the other direction. Just go all in at this point. Like the weird side comments and then when you sit down with her and she's across the table for me,
Starting point is 00:27:06 you're being supportive, but then you go back and you still have a problem with the Dior bag. You still have a problem with all the other things that she's been doing. Now you're questioning her boyfriend and the kids and her being a mom. And it's just all very, very bizarre to me. Just if you're going to do this and this is just a rule of thumb for all reality TV, do it go do it go full board don't do that like one toe in one toe out depending on who you're talking to because in this group especially if emily continues to be friends with carmela even though you and emily are friends emily's going to bring that up she'll be like oh yeah jean was just talking about the two of you
Starting point is 00:27:39 and you know we're really we're really upset about the whole thing and then obviously when we get to the ranch and we're talking about it out in the open and you've got vicky just you know spouting around and emily spouting it out like there's so many things going on that we'll get back to you but if you're not going full in, you're not going to be prepared for somebody to come after you when you're talking about those things. So this is just what Gina does all the time and it bothers me so much because I'm like,
Starting point is 00:28:02 if this is what you think, just go for it. Like, do something. She's just lukewarm all the time. Yeah. Lukewarm. Like a glass of milk that got left on the counter. You know, that's Gina. And not even an intentional like warm glass of milk
Starting point is 00:28:15 that's going to put you to sleep or something. It's just a lukewarm glass of milk that's just sitting there. Yeah, like, oh, I forgot I got that milk out six hours. ago. And it's just a little cup of milk. That's Gina. This episode is sponsored by Vinted. I feel like we all have that section of our closet filled with clothes that we keep telling ourselves that we're going to wear again. I promise. We're definitely going to wear that shirt again, even though it didn't really fit that well, even though I didn't really get any compliments, or it still has the tags on it and I actually
Starting point is 00:28:43 never wore it, but I have an idea that I might wear it. And I've been trying to be better about cleaning out my closet. And Vinted makes it really easy to actually do something with the stuff that I'm not wearing. Vinted is a secondhand marketplace app where you can sell your clothes you no longer wear and make some extra money while giving those pieces a second life. And the thing I really like about Vinted is how simple the selling process is because it could be a headache. A lot of those other sites are very, very stressful. But all you have to do is list your item. And when it sells, Vinted creates the prepaid shipping label for you. So you don't have to do all that stuff yourself. Plus, there's no seller fees. So you keep everything you earn. And the Vinted app is free to download
Starting point is 00:29:22 which makes it really easy to just start listing some of those pieces that you have sitting in your closet day after day. Honestly, it's a great feeling to clear out some of that space, get some extra money along the way, and then you use that money toward refreshing your wardrobe. Maybe it's some pieces that you'll actually wear this time around. Ready to clean out your closet and make some extra money, download the Vinted app for free and start listing.
Starting point is 00:29:43 With no seller fees, you keep every dollar you earn. Give your clothes a second life with Vinted. The war is over, and both sides. lost. Starting point is 00:33:01 Listen to Moms and Mysteries on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. But they do start talking about the Heather stuff. And look, the points they're making aren't wrong. Like, she's controlling, monopolizing. And, you know, I brought this up. I got made out to be some villain, me being Emily. And where they lose me a little bit. And this is pretty much what their biggest issue is.
Starting point is 00:33:28 It's always their examples. their examples are never good and they're not pertinent to what they're trying to do. Their example now, and Tamara tries to jump on board with this, is how Heather defended Carmela when Vicki was calling her a bad mom. Now, she got aggressive. Wait, so let me get this straight. You all agreed that Vicky went too far, that she was doing too much. You all said something, or at least a side comment.
Starting point is 00:33:57 Heather just defended her. she got up and defended Carmelo, which you guys all agreed was the right move. But the way in which she did it was a problem because, ah, she's aggressive. Are you shitting me? This is the problem.
Starting point is 00:34:09 This is where you lose the audience. It's where you lose Heather. It's where you lose your argument. That's a terrible example. That's an absolutely horrible example. And I can't believe that that's what you're throwing against the wall. Like, no, that's unapplicable. It truly makes no sense at all.
Starting point is 00:34:25 And again, the facts that they've, really went deep into that. The fact that they really had the full discussion about what aggressive means, what are we doing here? Like, just talk about it. Just talk about your feelings, how you feel about the way that Heather was going after all of the things that you want to go after her for. I don't care what it is.
Starting point is 00:34:45 She's defending Carmela. Just talk about that. Just say it's weird that she's defending Carmela. Say it's bizarre. Say, I don't really understand it. She doesn't have a relationship with her. Why would she get in the middle of that? She had nothing to do with this.
Starting point is 00:34:55 Technically, none of you have anything to do with this, but whatever. leave that over on the side. Just talk about that. That's literally all you have to do. Everything else is just stupid at this point. There's no sense in using that word because we know, especially with this group, we will get hung up on a word.
Starting point is 00:35:11 We will absolutely get hung up on that word. And who knows where that's going to go? I do. It's going to last the entire season. And then it's going to become a completely different monster that doesn't make any sense. And we have no idea how we got here. Yep. The real housewives of semantics.
Starting point is 00:35:26 That's what this show likes. do. But anyway, I'd also just to put a cherry on top of that scene, this whole rule, you know, that you put in place, no career, no kids, it's too broad. No, it's not. No. It's pretty straightforward. Don't talk
Starting point is 00:35:42 about the kids. Don't talk about careers. It's pretty simple, actually. And nobody follows the career of one anyway, because we've been talking about Carmela the entire season and what she does for a living. So it's not like we're following these rules, but we can agree, lead the kids out of it, and understand if you go the
Starting point is 00:35:58 career route, people are going to clap back because they've tried to take it off the board, but it's not too broad. It's very straightforward. It's literally in the sentence. So, anyway, let's go to the 17th anniversary of these two, Shane and Emily. My God. What is it? What an entrance. What an intro. Unbelievably. This was actually very funny. Like, I didn't hate this scene, but not for the reasons that Shane and Emily. they probably want. First off, Shane ordering chicken Alfredo and a diet Coke is comical.
Starting point is 00:36:35 And I thought, wow, did he order off the kids menu? Emily saying that is different. And I want to be like that stuff like that is probably what pisses him off. There's no reason to take that shot. When you guys are already sitting here contentious at your 17th anniversary, then you throw that little dig in there.
Starting point is 00:36:58 like, why does he hate me? Literally just that. And I don't even know where this conversation is going. I mean, they start talking immediately about how Shane feels. And we get a confessional from Shane because he's a stay-at-home dad. And what does that make you feel like? We didn't need that confessional. I get it.
Starting point is 00:37:18 I don't need him to talk at length about his, you know, feeling emasculated by his wife. We've done this before. It doesn't really do anything for me. And yeah, Emily, like, again, this is just, they're at the point in their marriage or their relationship where it's like, okay. Yeah, who knows how this is going to go. And we kind of see the writing on the wall. It's like, oh, okay. Yeah, this is not going to be fun to watch.
Starting point is 00:37:39 Now, the kids are all 11, so seven years are divorced. Yeah, yeah, pretty much. That's kind of where we're hurling towards. But it's just so uncomfortable. And we've said that before about their marriage. We've said that before about these two on screen. She takes any shot that she can at Shane. Maybe he deserves it.
Starting point is 00:37:55 Maybe he doesn't. I don't know. It is what it is. is it's okay we can move forward from it we don't need their anniversary sit down because it's sad it's just sad and even if it's not and even if they do stay together the way they're talking about their marriage the way they're talking about each other it's like oh like you're gonna watch this back and just feel terrible about each other you're gonna feel terrible about your marriage your kids are going to watch it at some point hopefully not and they're going to feel bad
Starting point is 00:38:21 about it like oh this is what you guys are talking about when we're not around that's brutal it's just such a weird look and again i just keep you coming back to that for Emily all the time. You don't have to show any of this. You don't have to do this. She just finds like no real storyline for anything else. And then she has to just talk about her personal life. It's like, I know we want you to share your personal life, but you never have anything
Starting point is 00:38:43 very entertaining going on or interesting going on. And then you just use your like marital status and what's going on with Shane for a storyline. Like that's not. I'd rather you just not have a personal storyline. And we can just move forward from the whole thing. it's always how miserable are you right now like on scale one to miserable where are we at currently and it's just kind of a ever changing number but it's always the same vibe and like leading this whole thing off with like oh they someone makes a divorce joke and then Shane was like oh Emily
Starting point is 00:39:15 makes a divorce joke and then Shane's like ha ha just you wait that's not exactly what he said but he alluded to yeah I'm just biding my time to divorce you ha ha then they talk about about the remodel and how that was. And Emily's like, it seemed like you really hated life. And he's like, yeah, that was really hard. And juggling three kids at home and doing all this shit, then you get back and you go in the picture that Shane paints of Emily, that her panic to try to. We've heard it before.
Starting point is 00:39:47 But like, yeah, exactly. So at a certain point, if I keep hearing this and then I see Emily's reaction, which is like panic and then she tries to clean it up and make it look not as. bad. I'm going to think that you get home and you don't do shit. I think that Shane does everything all day and then he does the laundry. Then you have the balls to complain about the rate in which the laundry is being done and you don't do the laundry. And then when you do get back from a long day at work, Shane's had the kids. You go get in bed and scroll on your phone. And then you panic when he calls you on. You go, what? No, uh. Yeah, huh? I do believe that that is what happens. I
Starting point is 00:40:26 think that that's exactly what happens. And I don't know what the dynamic is, right? Like that's not my place to comment. We don't know that much about Shane. All we know is that he's miserable. You're miserable with him. He seems to have a lot of duties around the house. And because you are the breadwinner,
Starting point is 00:40:44 you have relinquished yourself of any of those, which is not how it's supposed to go either. It's supposed to contribute, even if you're working all day. So the whole thing, as you said, it's just a bummer. Like it makes me sad. I don't enjoy watching it.
Starting point is 00:41:02 It's also boring. Like we just discussed the percentage of time that you do the laundry. That should never be talking about. I'm sorry. It's definitely 80, 20, if not 90. Whoever's sitting in the editing room and watching this, I don't know how much footage we had of the two of them. Like it was a two hour dinner and we just kind of boiled it down to about five minutes.
Starting point is 00:41:21 Maybe should have boiled it down to two minutes. Like, hey, we're stopping in. They're talking about their marriage. We're out of here. whoever left that and was like, yeah, yeah, we really need to paint a picture about this marriage. 70% of the time he does the laundry. Okay. And then she complained that it's not.
Starting point is 00:41:36 It's like, what are we doing here? This is not, this is painting a picture that I don't want to see. No, no. But as everyone knows, the cornerstone to any great marriage is steak and sex. So they're on the right track. Take sex and laundry. Yeah, that's the three pillars. Let's get to Carmela's.
Starting point is 00:41:56 a gorgeous house, like really, really nice. I was very impressed with the house. What did you think of the Pilates machine in the foyer? I think whatever. Like clearly they don't have people over very often. It seems like they are out in the middle of nowhere and they acknowledge that. Carmelo does it in a way that's not annoying, which I like because we're so used to seeing like the drive comments and the middle of nowhere.
Starting point is 00:42:18 She just says it's kind of sleepy, kind of sleepy around here. So you can see why we want to get down to wherever. I think it's where Shannon lives. I don't know. Yeah. the Pilates machine I don't really give a shit about. And they don't either. They're clearly not trying to make a statement.
Starting point is 00:42:32 It's clearly a big room in which they just put the Pilates machine because she does Pilates. So for Gina to come in and comment on it, like it's a decorative choice where it's like, oh, I wouldn't have done that. I don't need your opinion of anybody's decor. No, definitely not. Like, don't give me a fucking break. Don't get me wrong. I love home goods,
Starting point is 00:42:55 but you don't need to buy more of a shot at Gina. Yeah. From home goods and take it to your house, Gina. Yeah. Honestly, the Pilates reformer is probably an upgrade
Starting point is 00:43:05 from some of your houses, Gina. See, I think personally, because this is near and dear to my heart, and this is something that I like, I think she should have
Starting point is 00:43:14 some sort of, how do we say, like an in-memorium to her and Jeff Garcia's marriage, where it's just pictures of the two of them, just like to read and people.
Starting point is 00:43:23 PK like that yeah that's how you decorate a foyer that you just throw pictures of your ex husband that everybody hates yep that's all we need that's exactly what you need that's how you decorate a foyer not a Pilates machine come on let's let's up the ante yeah Gina get some pictures of uh Travis's X and stick them in your oh yeah there you go yeah see there's a way to do this she's just not creative enough yeah but I like that and I don't know if it's a like a nervous tick or if she's just that's how she operates but like Carmel is saying things like, oh, these are the kids that are left behind. And then Vicki doubling down, I think one thing that I will probably not have a payoff,
Starting point is 00:44:02 but it would be nice if it does pay off, depending on how Carmela goes about this season, she's going to see a lot of shit left in the confessional booth, a lot of Vickyisms, a lot of shots at her about things that have potentially been squashed on screen. So there is a potential here for Carmela to really step up at the reunion and kind of take people to task because they're doing things like going to the confession. Like, well, you did leave your kids. But then it painted a different picture for me because Vicki's implying, I thought it was something totally different.
Starting point is 00:44:35 She's implying simply that Carmel is a bad mom for leaving the kids with Danny for like four days. I didn't realize that's what she was saying until this episode. And then I was like, oh, wait, you weren't implying that she left her kids for an extended period of time somewhere. You're implying that she left them with her boyfriend, whom they live with, so she could go on a trip. That's fucking crazy.
Starting point is 00:45:01 That's the stupidest shit I've ever heard. Yeah, as soon as that gets confirmed, it's like, ah, you did actually get off way too easy. As much as I really don't think I'm interested in going back and forth with Vicky on it, it is still kind of funny because it's like, yeah, you definitely got off easy. Carmelo let you slide on that one. And I do think it was as bad as it sounded when we were in Vegas. I do think there was enough ammo there
Starting point is 00:45:23 where everybody else in the rest of the group could have been like oh, Vicki, what the fuck are we doing here? Yeah. And if Carmela had words with Vicki. Yeah. Like, well, that's a little bit too aggressive for this group. So let's just relax on that. She could yell, but she can't stay.
Starting point is 00:45:37 She could stand up or yell. She can't do both. That's too aggressive. Okay. Now she can come down from the rafters as it's, you know, insinuated later. But yeah, she absolutely got off way too easy. That's exactly what she thought.
Starting point is 00:45:47 But that is what Vicki does. Now, yes, sometimes it's completely off color. But she will just say stupid-ass shit like that. And then she'll be held accountable. And then she has to kind of argue her way through it and scream and yell until she gets away from it. And people just stop dealing with her. This one was just way too off base that I feel like it deserves a further conversation. Now when Carmel is talking about it, she's like, yeah, I made a joke.
Starting point is 00:46:09 I want to show that, you know, I'm not really afraid of it. Or, you know, I'm going to throw it out there. And it seems like Vicky's good. And we just jab back and forth and we're okay. We can move forward from this whole thing. But going to her confession. afterwards she's like yeah i don't think this is going to die down i think she's going to say something else she's probably going to make some other reference to this whole situation once again and then i'll go
Starting point is 00:46:28 after her and i'm like i kind of like that i do like that because it's one of those situations where we've had a few days i don't want you to jump back into it be like i deserve a better apology don't double jeopardy just talk to her about it yeah talk to her about it and then when she kind of says oh i thought we were squashed we're all good then you can move forward but keep an eye on it that's what i want from someone like that That's what I want from somebody who's kind of just getting into the whole reality TV game. Try to figure it out from there because it does you no good if you start screaming and yelling at someone who just drove three hours because of something that they said a week ago that you've already squashed. Just keep an eye on it. Something does just watch and see if it pops up again and it will because it's Vicky.
Starting point is 00:47:06 Exactly. And I think that Carmel had a great line and this is kind of across the board. There's multiple people that fall under this one where she's like it's like when someone. is boxing and they just do a nut shot where they punch them in the balls because they're unskilled. So they just cheat or they take the cheap shot. That is Gina. That is Emily. That is Vicki.
Starting point is 00:47:31 That is Tamara sometimes. She can obviously bring more to the table as we know. But that's those three. I was like, that's exactly what they do. They just don't have the talent to actually drop a good one minor, actually throw some shade. So they just go for the low hanging fruit every single time. So I thought it was a great analogy. I was like, you're totally right.
Starting point is 00:47:54 That's exactly what they're doing. Yeah, it definitely is. I think the bigger problem with me and this whole thing, this whole showing of going to Carmelo's house, just have fun for at least a little bit. Like, yeah, you had your fun with the hot dogs, but they instantly start talking about Danny. And that's okay.
Starting point is 00:48:13 I get it. But Gina brought it up like 10 different times to like 10 different people. thankfully she said something to Carmela because if she just kind of kept it away from Carmela the whole time and talked about it, that would have been such a bad look. So I'm actually happy that she brought Carmela into the fold at some point. But you don't have to sit there and immediately start nagging everything
Starting point is 00:48:30 and talking about Danny and talking about her with the kids and questioning her motives and all of those sorts of things. Go have fun. You just spent two and a half hours in the car or whatever Vicki said, two hours and 45 minutes to get home. Go have fun. Enjoy yourself. Like just let loose a little bit.
Starting point is 00:48:45 and see where the party goes because those are the best moments. That's where you get back to a good show is when you guys are all having fun and then somebody does something stupid. And it's like, whoa, where the fuck did that come from?
Starting point is 00:48:55 You did a little bit of that in Vegas and it was okay. It was watchable. But as soon as you start bringing up things from other situations and bringing it in and then you're all having little side discussions about it, it's just stupid.
Starting point is 00:49:06 It just gets you nowhere. Yeah, I'm glad that that Jada did actually say it to Carmela because that could have turned into something that we just don't need to see. but it's just funny. You get a few comments here and they're like Tamara. You know how I am about cheaters?
Starting point is 00:49:21 Like, dude, the call is coming from inside the house. I'm like, what are we talking about here? Where is Eddie? Yeah, I don't know. I have no idea. But it does bring up a very important conversation. Catch up on hot dogs. Where do you stand?
Starting point is 00:49:37 Absolutely. Right? Yeah. I'm with it. Yeah. I've always, Chicago thing. Okay.
Starting point is 00:49:43 Catch up on a dog. is just delicious. You know, it's really good. I think we talked about this before. I'm going to be like, oh, my God, it's disgusting.
Starting point is 00:49:51 Don't knock until you try it. Mayo on a hot dog. I could see that. I mean, yeah, that makes sense. I put mayo in my burgers. But yeah,
Starting point is 00:49:59 ketchup on a hot dog's great. Ranch on pizza, especially ranch on pizza crust. Beautiful. Well, I'm a purest when it comes to food. I love ranch on pizza. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:50:07 you do whatever the hell you want. But don't worry. You get the delight of hearing Gina break. the New York accent out, which she is from New York, but it's not how she talks. She goes, it's like ranch on your pizza if you're a New Yorker. It's like, oh, God damn it. She didn't slip like a coffee in there.
Starting point is 00:50:26 Yeah, she loves to say coffee. She just wants to showcase her accent. Exactly. And the ever-changing accent that she has. Yeah. Now, I can't defend songria. No. Can't defend that.
Starting point is 00:50:39 So everyone going after about that. It's totally fair. It is sangria. Songria was quite the truth. choice. But we kind of bop around the party. A lot of it, like you said, is the Danny conversation. You know, this one is interesting because you're watching Carmela attempt to work through it. Obviously, we know what's going on. You're watching the group respond to it. This one's tough because for me, it falls under the, they're doing their thing, I guess.
Starting point is 00:51:09 They're trying to figure this out. We don't have any more information really, so I don't really know what to say about this whole thing. I want to watch the girls gossip about it, but they don't do that well on this show. So like it's kind of a weird spot where we watch them side step and make side comments about Danny and his infidelity and where they're currently headed. You're watching Carmela try to come to terms with it and move forward for her and for her kids and this and that. You're also at the same time watching everybody making comments about effort,
Starting point is 00:51:40 I guess, with their significant others. and Carmel's like, damn, I need to step it up. Like her authenticity and her realism, like the way that she talks about situations, I appreciate she doesn't sugarcoat shit. She, like, whatever you see is what you get. She's not trying to make her life look better than it actually is. Quite the contrary. She's actually making it seem worse than it is.
Starting point is 00:52:01 So, I don't know. It's just something endearing, especially in this cast in particular, because of how phony they are a lot of the time. Yeah, I think so. And look, this is what's going to happen. I mean, we talked about Carmelie getting ahead of things that she didn't really need to get ahead of. She probably could have just left that one in the back, but decided to talk about Danny's invalities. And now everybody knows about it.
Starting point is 00:52:22 At this point, and this is what I think separates this from like a very good show. If you throw Giselle into here, Giselle's going to pull Danny aside and be like, how long ago does you cheat on it? We got to find out. Like, that's, that is the kind of bluntness that it deserves. I mean, this is what you, this is what you kind of expect when a housewife tries to get ahead of something. thing. It's like, okay, you tried to get ahead of it. We feel a little conflicted about it. We didn't really get the whole story, but you're talking about it a lot. We're giving you the sympathy. We're giving you support, but we don't really know you. I'm a good housewife.
Starting point is 00:52:53 We've got Danny right here. While he's making me a drink, I'm going to ask him about his infidelity. Like, that's awesome. That would be fantastic of Vicki or Tamara or, you know, Emily or Gina or whoever. Anybody stepped up and did that. It's like, okay, there you go. That's how we bridge that gap. That's exactly how we get back to something good and fun and entertaining. Obviously, it's not a very fun subject, but it's blunt enough and fucking outlandish enough where it would have made for a great moment. You get to watch them squirm. Then maybe Carmela gets upset, but other people are pointing out the fact that you brought this up to us. And what are we supposed to do with this information? Except what? Sit and hang out and act like we
Starting point is 00:53:28 don't know everything about this guy. You told us about this. So that's where we end up and that's where we should have gone probably, maybe not to that extent, but it would have been nice. I agree. I agree 100%. But Emily and Heather get into. it and I think the only takeaway I have from this is that Heather's completely right. Yeah. Emily, you do do the same shit. You do the same exact shit, actually, which is why you guys blow up at each other all the time, because you're very similar in that regard.
Starting point is 00:53:56 You're different in a lot of ways, but you are similar in which, yeah, you do take front and center. Yes, you do pop off sometimes. Yes, you do get aggressive if that's the word that we're going to use. So everything you're accusing Heather of doing is a pot calling the cattle black. You're throwing all of the rocks in the glass house. So that was like, I guess a good moment where it's like, yeah, okay, Heather, you got her. But, but this is my big issue with Heather, it's in the confessional. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:22 Doesn't say it to Emily's face. She says it in the confessional, not that she won't go back at people in real time face-to-face. All of the big statements, the big comments, the shade, that's always confessional, Heather. And that drives me nuts. Yeah, it's either that or she just shuts down the conversation. And we talk about that a lot, obviously, and we'll continue to talk about it a lot, I'm sure, as we continue through the season where they're going after Heather. She does have a good way of shutting conversations down, which is good for Heather bed for the show.
Starting point is 00:54:54 And I say that kind of tongue in cheek because it's not like I want Emily and Gina to succeed in any capacity, but at least give us something to get into and have a real conversation about it. and don't just bow down as soon as have it. I think that's the most frustrating part with Heather is she does that, but she's never contested after that. And then we go to the confessional or we have a scene with Gina and Emily sitting down. And they're complaining about the fact that she's easily shutting things down. It's like, okay, but you guys are the ones that should be pressing it.
Starting point is 00:55:22 You guys are the ones who should be making her converse a little bit more, talk about whatever the situation is. She gets pissed off and walked away. That's on her. Then we talk about it some more and we bring it back to her. Hold her feet to the fire if you're actually. going to do this. And that's kind of what we talked about too in the beginning of the season, where we saw them kind of laying out the cards like, okay, we're going to go after Heather
Starting point is 00:55:41 this season. Do it right. At least try to the best of your ability to do it. They always do the same thing. They kind of press a little bit. She does something, kind of squirms out of it, and we just stop talking about it. But you guys are in your confessionals for the rest of the season complaining about it. Do something different. Like it just go all out for once in your lives. That'd be great. But again, as we pointed out, and it comes to fruition, right here. They already fumbled because the way that they're going about it is you were aggressive. And it's like, all right.
Starting point is 00:56:12 Even Heather goes, that was warranted. Yeah. Like, again, let's remember the situation. She jumped up to defend. And sure, is there some hypocrisy there from last year and her saying something similar or not talking about it? Yeah. Sure.
Starting point is 00:56:26 Say that. Don't say it was aggressive. Say just that because all of us at home, at least 99.9% of people, watched what she did when she stood up and yelled at Vicky. And we all said, good, get her. That's fucked up. Why is she talking about her being a bad mom? That doesn't make any sense to me.
Starting point is 00:56:43 And Heather points out, it's not comparable. Like Tamara's trying to draw these comparisons. And it's like those aren't the same situations at all. You guys pop off and get aggressive out of nowhere. Tamara, you specifically will lose your shit over something very small or something very true. This was Heather defending somebody that deserved to be defended against somebody that was talking shit. period. So if you're going to lead off the charge with this, it doesn't work because nobody's on your side and you don't really have a good leg to stand on because that doesn't make me
Starting point is 00:57:16 fucking sense. It makes no goddamn sense. Yeah. I just can't believe that this is where we got to. We just got hung up on a word. We got to hung up on an emotion the whole time. Yeah, aggressive. We got to debating. It's just going to keep coming up to like we thought that the, the Dior purse was bad. Three episodes from now, we're still going to be talking about. Oh, was that aggressive? Was that being too aggressive? Yeah, and they're going to make jokes about it.
Starting point is 00:57:42 Yeah. And like, if Heather's going to do that, she's well within her right to do it. It's just, again, really, we're going to do it. We're going to talk about this. We're going to make sure that we hold on to this feeling for a couple of episodes and really put ourselves through it. And again, it always ends up fruitless. Like, we always get to the end of this road and we're like, okay, what did that accomplish?
Starting point is 00:58:02 Nothing. Okay, cool. Yeah, we didn't actually get anything out of anybody. We just kind of had an annoying conversation with different people in different scenes for about three episodes. And it amounts to nothing. That's the biggest problem with shows like this and mostly OC for the most part. Beverly Hills, too, throw that in there. They do that.
Starting point is 00:58:19 We just talk about it in different sex. And then we get to the point. And it's like, all, cool. Here's the big coming together moment. We're all going to talk about it in a good way. And we've all got good points to make. You never made any good points along the way. So it just kind of fumbles out and then we have nothing.
Starting point is 00:58:33 No, but the one thing, then we'll get to questions that I looked up from my note taking, because I was like, Jesus Christ, Vicky is telling Carmela, you can't walk away thinking I mom shamed you. It's like, well, Shannon's confirming you did. Everyone else confirmed you did. You did in fact, mom shamer. You did it at this party at a confessional. But she goes to her confessional and says, Danny filled in her role many times, to which I took that as Danny's raising your. kids, you're an absentee mom, and Danny's cheated on you. That was like a haymaker out of hell. I don't know where that came from, but that was a pretty heavy handed. That's what I was saying. Carmela does have the opportunity to watch the season and come to the reunion,
Starting point is 00:59:18 especially if she continues to have a good season, if she's able to continue to show that her job is, that she's credible, that she knows what she's doing, that she has a solid career. She can go to the reunion with a laundry list of like, all right, and go after people. people because they keep like that's that was fucked up that was like I didn't you know it's good for TV I was like oh wow just wasn't expecting it no and that's that's the sort of thing that Vicki's not going to be able to get away with too like we're going to watch obviously when all the comments that Heather was making early in the season are going to come out they'll squash that during the season the Gina and Vicky things the confessionals in particular are going to be
Starting point is 00:59:54 the ones that Carmelah can hold on to it's just whether or not we're going to get the space for Carmela to operate appropriately, or will we just kind of gloss over certain things? Like, it might not be worth it for her to even go after Gina because I do get that sense. And it's just such a little small reaction. But when Vicki's leaving and Carmela just kind of snickers to herself as soon as she shuts the door, she's like, this woman's fucking insane. Okay, cool. Let's move on with my life.
Starting point is 01:00:19 Like, that's kind of where she is. And she's just normal in that sense. So she might not even see something like Gina. Like, yes, she'll go after Vicki for the comments. But she might look at something like Gina and just be like, you're just fucking jealous. And I have no time for you. Bingo, that's all it is. But let's get to some questions.
Starting point is 01:00:34 And again, quick reminder to help us out with some five-star reviews because we're going to go into these questions. Everybody's going to agree that this show sucks and it's boring. And yet when we talk about it, people leave bad reviews that we are grun or that we have gotten too successful or something. But I'm going to lead it off with this one because Ang Ziskin took the time to type this out and screenshot it. and fit it into the question box. So I can't read it though. Okay, here we go. Did Emily misconstrue Heather telling Vicki to not talk about other people's kids parenting
Starting point is 01:01:09 with her getting support from other people because she talked about her own kids' struggles last season? Does she really not see the difference between talking about your own kids versus someone else's? Probably. I think that's giving Emily too much credit if I'm being honest. Yeah, I think she just wanted to go after Heather in some capacity. Yeah, she wants to go after it. That's what she has. Her maiden stone, no matter what, she will not deviate from the storylines that she has figured out in her brain before this season.
Starting point is 01:01:41 It was, I'm going to go after Heather no matter what. And also we're going to talk about my uncomfortable marriage. And we'll see how that goes. She's just not going to deviate from it. So, no, maybe. In a normal world, yes, I would agree with you. But it's Emily. I just don't think that she's going to change it up now.
Starting point is 01:01:59 Agreed. Uh, from Lindsey Bucks, Carmela saying that Vicki has unskilled insults is spot on. Yes. Yeah. That was, that was a really good line, honestly. Agreed. Uh, coia baby. Name one time a housewife has self produced and the public bought it.
Starting point is 01:02:15 Stop. And fire Emily that we don't. I think that's what like a lot of. No, we can see. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. In, in hot water with is they feel the need to overproduce or force an issue.
Starting point is 01:02:30 And that's when these shows really. take a left turn because you're cast on this show because you are an outlandish character in some regards. The drama and all of that shit will come organically and the best shows, that's what happens. So I would say never. Not one time has that worked. And yes, fire Emily. Heather Gaye, season four of Salt Lake City with Monica Garcia is the last time that
Starting point is 01:02:54 someone self-produced and everybody bought it. I agree. This would be kind of funny to try. Ashley Kralchick Steele do a whole podcast in your Gina voice just to make this better that might be tough yeah that's a really tough one
Starting point is 01:03:09 and not break character uh from Robert Taylor writer of stuff you can only keep two housewives for next season who Gina and Emily yeah yeah that's it
Starting point is 01:03:22 right now oh god it's such a tough like Carmela just because I'm curious but like, I don't know. She spends too much time with these women. She's just going to be one of the same. Carmela and Tamara, I guess. See what happens.
Starting point is 01:03:40 Jen's still on the show. She didn't really have any speaking lines of this episode. Yeah. It's such a weird show. From Myra Hellwig, if Gina and Emily get the boot, what kind of housewives should join the cast to help improve OC? More people like Carmela would probably.
Starting point is 01:03:59 help. Yeah, just like fun people, not these stick in the mud, like boring fucking and check their back account before you add them. We brought that up at Atlanta. Andy confirmed that they don't check bank accounts. We think they should check bank accounts. They definitely should. I agree. I can save that one for the last. It's a fun one.
Starting point is 01:04:24 RSC, Jan 28. Not a question, but Aaron Donald is back. I know. I hate it. yeah it's not going to work out for them Rams loose to the Eagles every year they're going to do it again knock on wood but yes
Starting point is 01:04:36 Nilea B why is Emily so dismissive of Shane's feelings because she hates him yeah she talks she hates him she once she started you know working out a bunch and bettering her life and feeling better about herself she just immediately
Starting point is 01:04:56 looked Shane and she's like I hate you I don't want to go with you anymore You disgust me with your Diet Coke and your chicken Alfredo. Chicken out, you toddler. You have a man. By the way, I think he gets a bad rap for that one. Like, we don't even know what restaurant they're like what kind of restaurant they're in. Traydo's always good, by the way.
Starting point is 01:05:11 Chicken Alfredo is usually good when you get it out. And yeah, you might feel like there's like a rock in your stomach afterwards, but it's delicious. It is delicious. And like, I think, you know, Shane catches strays. He doesn't do anything bad. No. He just kind of is, you know, he's the chicken Alfredo guy. He's the Diet Coke guy.
Starting point is 01:05:28 Like, that's who he is. And for better or worse, Emily, that's who you're married. So this whole thing now where you're just like shit on the guy, it doesn't make all. There's no way, absolutely no way that Shane has ever been different than the way he is now. This has probably been Shane his entire life. And that's you're married. And now you hate him because you, and you do. You look great.
Starting point is 01:05:54 She looks fantastic. Blacksmith Trev points out. As much as I can't stand. Emily, I'm upset with how gorgeous she looked at the episode. She does. She looks fantastic. But because of that, she legit looks at Shane like, oh, oh, God. You're gross with the chicken Alfredo.
Starting point is 01:06:13 Disgusting. Can't believe you do that. You got a fun one for the end, he said? Yeah. We kind of talked about it already about old hammering home. Amy Labadeo, what are y'all's favorite hot dog topics? What's your ideal dog? ideal dog in a world where I don't get any heartburn.
Starting point is 01:06:31 Correct. I want a nice chili dog. I love a good chili cheese dog. Bacon cheese dog up there. Bacon, yeah. Uh-huh. Oh, you know, it would be probably my favorite combo. Do like a long hot mayo.
Starting point is 01:06:50 Mm-hmm. With a little bit of like very finely diced onion. Yeah. that hard. Yeah, I'm hungry. Yeah, me too. I'm going to go eat dinner. Anywho, I don't know, guys. I don't know. This show continues to be this show.
Starting point is 01:07:09 Just for what it's worth, I did look it up because now we use Wikipedia to figure out how many episodes are left. It says to be announced for this. Oh, you bastards. Last year was 20, 2018, 19. the least that they've ever had was the right before COVID 16 episodes. That was a terrible season. I mean, I'm not going back to the first four seasons
Starting point is 01:07:33 because there was only like 8, 10, 12, 15. So yeah. So, yeah, maybe we'll get around 16 episodes plus the three-part reunion that takes us to November. January. Yeah. With holidays, I think it'll take us to December,
Starting point is 01:07:50 unfortunately. It'll hurt less. And in a weird way, I'm like kind of excited for Roney because it's an unknown commodity right now. I am too. We'll see how that goes. And we Salt Lake. I know we ragged on it last week for Ultimate Girl's Trip, but we don't really know what it's going to look like. It's still going to be better than this.
Starting point is 01:08:05 So I'm excited for that to come back. And then there's other shows coming back in the fold. So we'll be good. Yeah, I'm excited for Salt Lake just to see some of my faves back on screen. I know the story lines get contrived sometimes, but I love, love me some Lisa Barlow. Love Meredith Marks just for what she brings to the show. So I don't know. We'll see what happens, guys. We'll see what happens. But that's all I got. You got anything else? Nope. That's our show. Bros. Gotta go.
Starting point is 01:08:34 Hi, I'm Whitney. And I'm Katie. And we're the hosts of True Crime Campfire. We set out to make a true crime podcast we'd want to listen to. We get right to the story. We don't do a lot of extra talk in. And when we do, it's usually to roast the short hairs off of some loser, murderer, or scammer. You'll laugh, but only at the people who deserve it. Like, which serial killer would you most like to shove into a locker? BTK and his awful poetry. Dude got caught because he didn't understand what a floppy disk was. We look for the stranger than fiction stories, like the case of Patty James, a killer catfish before the internet was even a thing. Or Howard Walmsley, a sentient wad of damp laundry, who convinced his town he'd won the lottery,
Starting point is 01:09:16 fleeced local businesses out of thousands, and then became a romance scammer. We've covered tons of cases you've never heard of. cults, scammers, killers.
