Bros & Shows - Run, Venita, Run (Southern Charm Full Recap)

Episode Date: February 4, 2025

What's up Bros? Southern Charm is getting a little better, it's certainly not where it was last year, but things are trending in the right direction... we hope. In this episode, Craig and Austen agree... to have a meet up. However it appears they are on two separate pages. Shep gets tagged in to mediate. Craig also sits down with Madison who tries to advocate for Austen. He's just a guy missing his buddy from what we can tell. Venita admits to Leva that she may have caught some feelings for JT. Meanwhile, Molly lets slip that she is into Shep. Speaking of Shep, there appears to be trouble in paradise. Sienna ghosted him after her trip to Africa leaving Shep in a bit of a spiral. Miss Patricia and Madison convene with caviar to discuss Sienna, and turns out that she had approached Whitney originally... Stalker vibes? Austen and Craig sit down at the end when Craig proposes a buyout on the podcast... Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is an eight-episode Hulu Original Limited series that blends gripping pacing with emotional complexity, offering a dramatized look as it revisits the wrongful conviction of Amanda Knox for the tragic murder of Meredith Kircher and the relentless media storm that followed. The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is now streaming only on Disney Plus. It's hard for me to focus because the birds play in the Super Bowl in seven days, but I will say this.
Starting point is 00:01:01 I thought the episode was better. I enjoyed this one much more than last week. It's still not the Southern charm of last year, but it's taking strides in the right direction. I think we can point to a reason why. Yeah, I think it's pretty clear to all of us that the success for this show correlates strongly to Craig and Austin being friends. I got to have my bros and shows. Good afternoon, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Bros.
Starting point is 00:01:35 and Shows, I'm your co-host. You're also by the one and only Scoots McGee. What's up, dude? Well, we've got our first Sunday without football in four months, five months. I don't know. A long time. So we figured, let's double up on an episode this week, two episodes this week, make our lives easier, and give the fans what they want.
Starting point is 00:01:57 we're being productive boys who to thunk we're being productive we're not procrastinating we're scheduling things who are we are we growing up we scheduled things i had a uh a dry weekend just trying to get my body right for next week for the super bowl um i always think it's really funny that when ads go through and they're promoting for the super bowl they always say the big game they're not allowed to say the super bowl which i think is the dumbest shit ever it's the big game the big game game we're not a little game it's the big game no i think we can say whatever i'm going to go back no i'm just going to go back and voice over getting ready for the big game but our mouth will say super bowl yeah that'll work let's give you more stuff to do for editing no that's okay uh we're
Starting point is 00:02:44 trying to alleviate the pain of editing but as we said this is this is a better episode of southern charm uh i i still have some frustrations now i think the difference for me yes you can point to craig and austin uh potentially not coming back together but maybe a way forward that also gets shot down quickly thereafter maybe that has a lot to do with it i think also because of the tensions in the group they've all been playing like kind of coy up until this point where it's like not really engaging not really connecting not really talking about things it feels like things are getting to a boiling point. So people are having to force these conversations to be able to hang out with one another and be able to have like group settings. So it did seem more genuine. It felt like we were
Starting point is 00:03:30 getting some actual feelings this episode rather than just run of the mill brush off. So I like that. I don't know. It's better. It's not perfect. It's not great, but it's better. Yeah. I mean, I think you can tell that the sentiment towards Craig and Austin's demise towards their friendship is affecting the rest of the group it's obviously affecting the show all of us can say that but it's also affecting the friend group it's affecting the cast they realize that there's not a lot going on here if we can't get them in the same room together we've seen four or five different events where we get one or the other that just it just doesn't work it's not a recipe for success it's not what we want to watch as an audience and yeah i mean it just got dull it's been getting boring so we know what the
Starting point is 00:04:15 the root cause is here let's try to get them back together and i think everybody knows that and it's going to start with somebody like Madison it's going to start with somebody like Whitney who's a fucking producer on the show who maybe yeah he's a little slow a little slow to the what's the word there what's the phrase slow to the take yeah I guess that works slow to the draw slow to the draw is probably what I was going for yeah so everybody realizes that let's get these two in a room together let's throw a mediator in there so that eventually something might work I don't care who the mediator is but there needs to be a third party and uh yeah I guess that's kind of what we saw this episode and there's another thing
Starting point is 00:04:50 in this episode that I do not like. So we'll get to that too. Yeah, I know what you're talking about. I'm not looking forward to discussing that. I wasn't looking forward to watching it. And it's only because we know what happens afterwards. If I didn't know that, I would have it probably
Starting point is 00:05:06 maybe a slightly different take. I would still be very skeptical for her sake. But hey, it happened. We will discuss it. Yeah. We'll get to that. I've got some questions. Yeah, I do.
Starting point is 00:05:18 to, but we start out with a quick checking with Whitney. He's at Ken. If anybody cares. Do you care? Sure. Nope. Okay, cool. I don't care. Well, we get Madison and Craig. This was an important conversation, I thought, before it even started. I was like, okay, if anybody can break through to Craig, Madison can. She's the voice of reason for a lot of people.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Her and Craig have a deeper friendship than other people. So I was hoping that she would be able to get the message across once they were able to squash the JT stuff, which was fairly easy because of last week. So as soon as they sit down, she's like, how do you feel about JT? And I'm glad he was 100%. Like, I could not have been more wrong. And I just don't, I don't have the energy anymore. I've tried.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I've gave him my best shot. I gave him multiple opportunities, which he did. We saw him give an opportunity at the golf simulator. He fucked that up immediately. Try to give him another shot on the boat. He fucked that up in the same day as well. So at a certain point, you got to stop giving chances. And I think that's where Craig is at.
Starting point is 00:06:14 And arguably the entire group, which we're, getting to at some point, there's going to be something that causes JT to finally leave this show. We don't know when, but we do know he early departed from this season. So I'm curious when that fallout is going to happen. Definitely an early departure? I thought it was just that he wasn't coming back next year. Oh, no. I see, I'm under the impression that he didn't finish the season out. I know he didn't go to the reunion. I know we didn't go to the reunions. Yeah, and there's probably less confessionals, but I thought that he stuck it out until the end of the year. See, I'm pretty sure that he bowed out at some point. But yeah, I don't want to look it up because I want to
Starting point is 00:06:52 be pleasantly surprised when like episode 10 or 11 all of a sudden he just leaves. He's just MIA. Yeah. I mean, after his performance, it's just such a shame, dude, because the, the JT that we've been seeing for the majority of the season, we both agree like this isn't so bad, but you just give him enough time. And sure enough, he shows his true colors once again. But Madison is advocating for Austin. There's something about their relationship. I know it's weird. I know it's on orthodox, but it's there's something charming about it where she still cares about them, but it's definitely there's yeah. I know. I know what I did. I'm aware of what I did. I didn't mean to do it, but I did it. But there is something charming. And you like they're now at a point
Starting point is 00:07:31 where there genuinely is no sexual tension. It really does feel like either girlfriends are hanging out or it's like a brother, sister thing. It's, I enjoy this dynamic. And I also feel like once again, if Craig and Austin are going to be able to finally move forward, Madison does have to be the mediator. I think Shep actually did a surprisingly good job this episode. I was shocked, but I think that Madison is much more a voice of reason than Shep will ever be. Yeah, I think so too. And look, I think that where Madison wants to be right now is on the side of convincing one or the other. Now, obviously, I don't think Austin needs any convincing. I think Madison understands that. And maybe, you know, we saw like bits and pieces of them getting together a few nights before and just kind of like talking shit and gossiping.
Starting point is 00:08:16 And that's where they are. And we like to see that as a friendship. But maybe they talked and she realized, okay, I need to go to Craig. I need to convince Craig that he needs to sit down and talk to you because you will as soon as he calls, set something up to go sit down together. So let's just do that. And Madison's in a great position to do that because she's friends with both of them. And she also has a little bit of leverage where she is where she is with J.T. after what he did on Tuba night,
Starting point is 00:08:41 now Craig is seeing JT for who he is. Tuber night. Yeah, I mean, that's what we're calling. But Madison already pegged him. She already knows what he is. She knows exactly what he's going to do. And every time that he has a chance to do it, he's going to take that opportunity to be an asshole.
Starting point is 00:08:56 So Craig finally saw it, tried to give him as many chances as possible, not sure why Craig gave him so many chances, especially where his friendship is with Austin. And here we are. It doesn't make any sense to me either. But here we are. And Madison is going to be the voice of reason.
Starting point is 00:09:08 and people listen to Madison at the end of the day she's been through a lot she's been on the show for so long she's known them for so long she's friends with patricia she wants everybody to get along and she understands okay there's a difference between an irreparable friendship break off and something that just needs to be forced together something that you know has to have both people in the room to just talk things out and we've seen this time and time again they don't talk things out one of them gets offended then goes off and gets defensive and then starts blowing shit out of proportion the other one doesn't you can't even say one of them it's only one of them that's doing that. I'm saying, I'm saying, I don't know. I think that Austin also puts
Starting point is 00:09:43 his foot in his mouth because he gets upset. Maybe not offended for Austin. I think he gets his feelings hurt very quickly. Yeah, but wouldn't you? Like, that's where I'm trying to see, you know, I understand what I'm saying. Try to keep a cool head about you. Yeah, I know, but me personally, yeah, I would keep it. I would keep a cool head, but you know, I'm not awesome. You're so cool, though. I don't just give a shit about most things. So yeah. Are you laughing at tough Sunday? No, I'm having a great. I'm, I'm cleaning, I'm cleaning and playing some video games, relaxing, no football on to break my heart. Yeah, I'm having a great day.
Starting point is 00:10:15 I'm just saying. Who you try to convince? I'm just saying, I'm having a great day, buddy. And yeah, you, also, you've been friends with me for 20 years. If I had to go through something like this, I'd be like, yeah, right? Like, whatever. Yeah, but I know you. You just, you also mask your feelings.
Starting point is 00:10:30 So it's hard to know if it's actually affecting you or not because you don't like to talk about things. Yeah, I don't need to talk about that. That's a difference. In a point. There's a difference. I don't need to talk about things. It's not that big of an issue. Let me move on with my life.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Oh, I'm sorry. Am I going to die right now because we're not friends anymore? No, we're not. One day. Craig. One day, it's going to catch up. You're going to have to talk about things. You're going to have to let it out.
Starting point is 00:10:56 And I will be here. I will be here when you need to, pal. When you need it or you can go to better help. Reflop. There are our sponsor anymore. Yeah. are they i don't think so free plug but anyway we get to a j t facetiving with his mom and he's headed to augusta to go golfing with with some buddies from high school he's now like jumping around to
Starting point is 00:11:21 friend groups and he's like if i blow that one up i'll go to my college buddies and from what it sounds like the way that he frames in the scene it's like you appear to have issues with with friend groups you know once again we like to point this out on on a lot of shows when one person's seeming to have problems with multiple people there's usually a common denominator here now he may have just been making a joke but i don't think so no i think that what he sees himself as this white knight of truth that's how he always portrays himself and then i've done nothing wrong but tell the truth yeah and he's even talking to his mom right now and when she clearly knows who he is because she doesn't even bat an eye she even says like oh yeah you're going to go hang out with those
Starting point is 00:12:03 friends give them a try it's like oh yeah so you know what j t is he's the person that goes from groups of friends to groups of friends and then maybe he hopes that they forget what he did a couple of months ago and then he can get back in this is what he does he has to be the guy who breaks the hard truth he is the most like frantic friend of all time he's just all over the fucking place and nobody wants that in their lives so people get tired of it and then they cast them aside yeah and it's just annoying to hear him too because even in this conversation with his mom he has this air about him like oh they they couldn't handle me they couldn't handle the truth it's like yeah why am i why am i the bad guy because i i speak the truth it's because
Starting point is 00:12:43 you're inserting yourself into situations that don't involve you and causing chaos that's why you're not wrong like that's the thing that's so funny like yeah does taylor deserve to know the truth about gaston 1,000% yes not from you that's the whole point coming from you she's going to get defensive because you have a tumultuous relationship she's not going to sit down and go, thanks, J.T. I love you, which is what he wanted to happen. I'd even say that it's not even who it's coming from. It's the way that he does things. Like, there's so many different ways to do it. Yes, I agree. Yeah. And look, maybe it's just innately who he is as a person that, you know, as soon as he starts talking about it,
Starting point is 00:13:20 it's just like it pisses people off. Like, he is definitely the type of person that as soon as he starts talking about something that he shouldn't be talking about, people are going to be like, oh, fuck, dude, shut up. Collective grown. Even if he does it in the right way. but I do feel like he he's done this so long he's done this so often and I'm sure there's so many more moments off camera before he started filming for the show where he starts talking about something that he shouldn't be and it's like shut up I know you're going to do this in the worst way possible and that's what he does does it make for good TV like last week yes when we had nothing else going on but if this show is really good and we saw last year the show was really good and there was a lot of things going on and then JT inserted himself he's not doing anything different this year than he did last year necessarily he's just on the screen a lot last but he's doing the same type of thing and we got pissed off at him last year now this year it's like all right well you know if nothing else at least we have j t being an asshole i know and it's just he like a cost sir like the way that he comes out it's like why do you have a dog in this
Starting point is 00:14:18 fight like why are you so upset about this whole thing and then why are you calling sally the other woman like yeah you don't know sally like that's such a weird thing that you're this white night and you want to protect and uphold women and all these other things because you're such a great protector yeah and you just called somebody you don't know He could have left Sally out of it. Look, if this guy cheated on, if this guy's been cheating on every girlfriend that he's ever had, then all you have to say is he was with another girl when he started dating another girl. And it was a friend of mine and he was cheating on her.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Like, you don't have to say Sally because you already know how Taylor feels about Sally. You already know how Gastone feels about Sally. She's the most recent. But if he's done this a bunch of times, just fucking mask it. You don't need to throw her to the bus too. Adding random fuel to the fire for no reason because you know it's going to garner a reaction. You get the reaction. and then you're upset with the outcome.
Starting point is 00:15:03 That makes no sense. That's illogical. But we get to Vanita and Leva. And because we all know how this turns out, it's just kind of sad to watch. Because like here we finally have some screen time for Vanita, which we've been pining for because look, it's called Southern Charm.
Starting point is 00:15:21 I'd argue she's one of the most charming individuals on this show. I love her style. You're going to do this the whole episode? Yeah. Now it's a theme. I'm working on themes and motifs. It's going to bother me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:32 See, you're having a weird Sunday. You're in a weird mood. It's not my fault. It's not my fault at football. It is. It's not my fault. Also, like, why the fuck don't we just start it like a week later so that we can all have off on President's Day?
Starting point is 00:15:46 Like, what is that shit? I don't know. Did I take off Monday already? Yeah. Yeah, I did. But that's not here. That's neither here. You shouldn't have to use.
Starting point is 00:15:54 I shouldn't have to. You know, that's just, yeah, that's science. And, you know, we're scientists. But anyway, Vanita and Leva. And she's in a very, like, like tee he kind of mood and she's like I have so much to tell you and Leavardi really knows what it's about and she's like well did you make out with JT or not because we were at the at the venue his event space and you were like oh he's so yummy look at his muscles look at his veins popping out when he's
Starting point is 00:16:17 mad and this and that and it's like look she caught feelings for the guy she has I think there's some semblance of being the protector there for her where she likes that she feels like she is you know she has to have his back and I'm sure that's created more of a connection. She's also gotten to quote unquote know a different side called Jared, which we know to be fake. Is it Jared or Jared? Is it Jared? Is it Jared or Jared? It is. It's Jared. Jarrett. Jarrett Thomas. I said Jared. I don't really care about it. I believe it's Jared. But regardless, I understand why she caught feelings as weird as it is. I don't like it's a bummer because again, we know how this turns out and she deserves way better.
Starting point is 00:17:02 but her whole thing is that you know they haven't really talked about it there's clearly this underlying tension and she wants to do something about it and i applaud her for being like you know if i if i like a dude i'm going to let him know i'm going to make the initiative and i'm going to go after it i think that's a great call and i i just i'm so bummed out that it's wasted on on this weasel like and yeah the fact that they both are like oh he seems like he's a marriage guy i'm like god damn no no he's he's full of shit and he proves it with how he treats venita i um Yeah, and I really don't care for for all the comments and discourse online right now, because what's going on is the lack of screen time for Veneto over the last couple of years.
Starting point is 00:17:42 People, you know, aren't like us. We're pining for more Veneta because we feel like there's more there. A lot of people see her as sort of a waste of space. Why is she on the show? And now that this is happening, they're accusing her of having like a manufacturer relationship. I don't see that at all. I see it the same way that you do. I think that she has caught feelings for him because if you look at that last scene from last week,
Starting point is 00:18:02 at the event space, he's being a complete prick. He's being a complete asshole. And in the middle of it, she is not seeing anything. She is mystified by this man for some reason or another. And I don't want to speculate on it because I don't care to. But she is talking about how hot he looks while he's being a complete asshole to so many people. She's not even seeing any of that. She is blinded by this for some reason.
Starting point is 00:18:25 So that's why I'm saying it's definitely real. It sucks how it turns out, as we already know. But I don't think that it's a manufactured relationship. to get her more screen time we want her to have more screen time but this isn't one of those things where she's doing this she's just around this guy and for whatever reason she's taking a liking to him and that's what's going to happen it's going to result in more screen time people are going to be mad about it but it's not a manufactured relationship so i just want to do a PSA to all those assholes out there that don't understand yeah i i firmly agree with you because
Starting point is 00:18:52 we have cut scenes that there has been more footage of venita we just we don't get to see it like that whole storyline with her ex manny going to new york on broadway and then It's extremely interesting. And they had cameras there and we don't get to see it. Instead, we get to see a bunch of boring shit for the past five, six weeks. We've watched the same episode essentially five weeks in a row until this week. It's changed up a little bit. Yeah, pretty much.
Starting point is 00:19:17 So for people saying that she's having a manufactured storyline, it's like, all right, time out. What are they leaving on the cutting room floor? Because we've already seen one interesting storyline left on the cutting room floor. I think there's another cut scene that she's had where it's like, why the fuck aren't we talking about that one? So now, because it involves another cast member who's arguably driving the plot line this season because there's nothing else going on with TJ, now they're giving your screen time and now you're going to leave the critics open to be like, oh, fake storyline, Vanita wants more story time.
Starting point is 00:19:43 It's like, no, dude, she's clearly tried. And they clearly don't think that what she's doing is worth putting on screen, which we think is horseshit, as we've been saying, justice for Vanita. And even if you want to play this game, oh, it's fake storyline, shut up. How many people have done this before? How many people have used different avenues on this show to create a storyline? You don't, not everyone panders after them. Like, fucking leave her alone.
Starting point is 00:20:05 Justice for Vanita. We're going to stand by that all season. Oh, this is it. The day you finally ask for that big promotion. You're in front of your mirror with your Starbucks coffee. Be confident. Assertive. Remember eye contact.
Starting point is 00:20:18 But also remember to blink. Smile, but not too much. That's weird. What if you aren't any good at your job? What if they dim out you instead? Okay. Don't be silly. You're smart, you're driven, you're going to be late if you keep talking to the mirror.

Starting point is 00:22:30 Yeah. No, thank you. I'm going to door dash you a margarita. Can you do that? I don't think you can, down in the city, I don't even think you can go puff anything. You could go puff alcohol, but maybe not like a mixed drink.
Starting point is 00:22:43 I don't think that'll work. I'll Google it. I'll ask Jeeves it. You Google it. Yeah. I'll ask Jeeves. I'll let you know what it comes back. I'll bing it.
Starting point is 00:22:55 Poor bing. Anyway, we get to Mali and Sally. I learned a lot from the scene. I didn't know you could take your your shin and ankle fat and injected into different parts of your body. I learned a whole lot here. But the main focus of this conversation is Shep because we've obviously all seen the tension between the two of them. It seems genuine. It seems real.
Starting point is 00:23:15 And given who Shep is trying to date, which we will talk about very soon, which is to nobody's surprise. I mean, it was in the trailer before the season started. Yeah. But even given, like, let's say we didn't know that. right we had no peek behind the curtain her behavior even before we get the scene with with patricia and madison it clearly she has an agenda like it's not hidden at least to us at home so none of that's surprising we'll get to that later but i do feel like and i'm it's tough for me because i i think that molly is awesome i think she is a great addition i think that she
Starting point is 00:23:53 has a long, long life on this show. So I really like her. I will say Shep's had a better season than his start to the season. I'm actually enjoying what he's doing on the show, but I also know who he is. I do not want Molly to get steamrolled by Shep. That would suck. We've seen it before with cast members. It messes up the dynamic.
Starting point is 00:24:15 I don't want that to happen to Molly. We already had to lose Olivia because of a bunch of crazy shit. Like, I just don't want that to happen again. and Shep be the reason for it. But at the same time, they are a cute couple in my life. I want to keep it at a nice little innocent flirtation because it is nice to watch. Just flirty. I like that.
Starting point is 00:24:35 Let's do that for like, if they can maintain that and Shep who hasn't really been an asshole a lot this year, a lot less than he has in the past. It's been toned down. If he can maintain that for like a season and a half, maybe at the end of next season, if there's still a flirtation, there. Maybe they give that thing a go. I'll give them a thumbs up. Not two thumbs up. I'll give them one thumbs up. The other thumb's going to stay in my pocket. But maybe we'll go that route. Yeah. I can see that because it is nice. It is kind of nice to watch. And it's not like it's charming. It's it's nice to watch. Yeah. It is your fault. It's always your fault every day. Oh, you love me. But yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:22 We'll see how it plays out with. I actually agree with you. I really do. I think that if it just stays surface level flirty, all right, dude, relax. You're too hydrated and too rested. I do not like this. Oh, I am so hydrated. You have no idea.
Starting point is 00:25:36 My pee. We have water and coffee for three days. My pee looks like water and smells like espresso. I'm locked the fuck in. But anyway, let's get the chef, Austin, and Lil Craig. They're catching up. And chef's like, you know, I've been going through it a little bit, man. Because I guess Sienna was on a trip to Africa.
Starting point is 00:25:55 She flew back to the Bahamas. And then she ghosted Shet for two days. And he's spiraling a little bit. You see the text. It's paragraph after paragraph. He sent a photo. The photo was that I was like, oh, brother, that's tough. That's real tough.
Starting point is 00:26:13 Like he said in pictures. He didn't see the signs. Like, we all saw the, we all see the, we all saw the signs. We've seen the signs. I saw. we've seen the ball when he said i want to come down to the bahamas and make a month out of it like one coming on a little too strong two she didn't say come on down let's do it she was kind of take it oh let's deflect something else uh what's the rest of the cast up to i'm taking notes for
Starting point is 00:26:41 my grandma um yeah i i just don't know what the hell is going on why he's doing this i hate watching and like i don't particularly like chef that much in the in like terms of being a friend of them or anything but watching another person go through this guy or girl relationship whatever it might be situation ship seeing it on screen is like uh that's brutal dropping the i love you in the middle of it no i know and then the picture but you know what it's awkward you know what he fucking deserves it uh like he made his bed like that it's time for him to feel this way too because he's done this to other people i don't feel bad for him i really don't like i i agree he's having a better season i feel awkward for him yeah yeah i don't feel bad for him
Starting point is 00:27:29 i feel bad for myself because i don't watch it that's fine like i do feel uncomfortable watching it because you see that he sends a photo of her like yeah you remember this moment with us where are you and she finally answers him and she's he goes where are you she goes in the bahamas no shit okay cool what the fuck's going on and she's like you know i just needed some space i'm going through a lot the run of the mill answer and she's gutted by the whole thing austin points out what we're all aware of my dude it's been six weekends maybe tone it down you're saying i love you you're talking about future plans moving to the bahamas forever spending a month with her you've never spent a week with her why are we jumping to a month in the bahamas and the bahamas and
Starting point is 00:28:17 And then jumping to a family in the Bahamas. Like, I get it. He clearly is enamored with this girl. And I don't know if that's because he's actually in love or if this is the first girl that's given him the runaround like this where he's like he wants what he can't have kind of deal. So he's chasing out. He's not used to that. That's what I think more of what it is. Yeah, I think it's an infatuation coupled with the fact that she is not bowing down to him.
Starting point is 00:28:40 Now, it does get a little weird a little bit later when we start talking to Madison and Patricia about this whole thing because you would think that she would try. try to be like in his pocket like hey let me just go wherever you're going to go oh you're filming now let me come up like multiple weekends let me stay for a couple of days so that i can be on camera so that i can keep talking about this so it does kind of throw me through a loop there where i'm not really sure how that works but i think that's pretty much what it is i think you hit the nail on the head i think that he wants what he can't have he's not getting all of her attention once he does get all of her attention he'll probably stop talking to her for a little while and he'll be the way i think but because it's the other way around for him the first time and
Starting point is 00:29:17 however long he's stuck on it he's infatuated he thinks he loves her and that's not so that works but still tough for me to watch i don't like watching that it's awkward it's awkward it's super awkward i actually agree with austin though he's like dude don't text her don't text her like we get that scene later or craig's like well ship thinks that austin after talking to craig he's like yeah yeah you're you're way better than this at austin austin austin i know austin's advice is terrible it's like, no, Shep, Shep, no. Austin's telling you what you should do. Craig's more on the line of what you want to hear, but, you know.
Starting point is 00:29:49 Craig's hopeless romantic mode, which is what you want to hear because it aligns with you. Austin's being realistic, like, hey, if you keep pandering and pining for her, she's going to run away, leave her alone. Yeah. But like, Craig, Craig said what you wanted to hear. She's like, I really fuck with this advice. It's much better than Austin's advice. I'll tell you what. No, it's not.
Starting point is 00:30:10 but Craig calls Austin and oh my heart broke later on because he answers the phone and he's like hey man let's hang out this week and he's like love the initiative he hangs at the phone he's like giggly and smiley and just happy and says to chef like I don't even know why I'm like this I'm like oh my god I hope Craig watches this and understands what he was doing because he's still stuck on certain things that I don't understand. I know you don't understand. Well, now, yeah. Right. But it's like, this guy just wants you back, man. He misses his buddy. Like, this has nothing to do with booze. It has nothing to do with a podcast, a business. This is
Starting point is 00:30:53 just a friendship that's going down the tubes and only one person really seems to want to fix it. And this was so sad. Did you? Oh, yeah, hold on, go. I'd finish the scene out and then I'll ask you. That's pretty much it. because we get to miss pat and madison next so what's what's your take did you see austin on macho happens live i saw bits and pieces but not enough to it he i'll just paint a picture for him you already know how awkward he is when he has to answer questions that he doesn't want to not great he doesn't ever take the approach of you know what i'm going to stay out of this one i don't know he always answers but he is so uncomfortable while answering and there were a couple of fans on
Starting point is 00:31:33 they're asking about page dating a new guy and you know what you should do in that situation you know i'm not really sure i wish her all the best i don't really keep tabs on her and what she's up to he took so long to answer eventually he goes yeah i am pretty aware it seems like she's uh she's dating and craig's known for a while it's like uh and then page responded with oh somebody who i haven't talked to in six months all that has it has an opinion on what i'm doing with my life. I don't know where, I'm assuming Austin and Craig are boys now. It's probably got Craig's back a little bit.
Starting point is 00:32:10 We don't know the full story. We don't know what the hell's going on. But it's probably rubbing Craig the wrong way that she's out there dating somebody and he's not going to come out and say it, of course. Austin will. Can't do it. He's awkward. Austin did and he's awkward.
Starting point is 00:32:22 And it's not even like a gotcha moment. Like, oh, I'm going to take a shot at Paige right now because she hurt Craig. It's not like that at all. It's just Austin being super awkward and not knowing how to dodge a question. uh you gotta love them for like just for reasons like that just the golden retriever something about them but yep let's look at the end of the day it seems like their first public date was the eagles game and you know where else to fall in love than a birds game that look you're going to fall in love or fall apart yeah one of the other there is no in between but or you're going to
Starting point is 00:32:54 end up in the in the jail cell in the stadium one of those three options but anyway we get miss patricia yeah it does they still have a course there's not in Lincoln Financial now. Let's Google it. I didn't know that. It's not there. I thought they did. No. No, only in the bet. Only in the bet. Let's see. Lincoln Financial
Starting point is 00:33:14 There's a security holding area but it's no longer like a cell anymore. Is there a jail? There was a jail at the link. But it was shut down shortly after it was opened. Okay, I just read it to you. It was shut down. I guess they transferred it over. The jail stayed only open for
Starting point is 00:33:30 two years at the link as the behavior. of the fans improved see we're getting better everybody we don't get arrested in the stadium anymore there used to be a judge to sentence you there too yeah judge mcalfrey um you even know his name yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah uh yeah it's a great time here um yeah it's a great time here look i hate rested shooter this is awkward Who are we? Miss Patricia and Madison. Anyway, we get a little canopy bed sesh.
Starting point is 00:34:11 You know, this is very regal. The ringing bells, the butler's coming by with caviar, which I can only assume is Meredith Mark's caviar, because I think that any caviar on Bravo has to be Meredith Mark's caviar. Well, they didn't say that it was Meredith Mark's Caviar.
Starting point is 00:34:23 So now I'm thinking it isn't. No, if it was, they would say, oh, yeah. Contractually, they have to say it's Meredith Marks if it is.
Starting point is 00:34:31 And do a slow. slow zoom over the top of the tray and see the end. And they would also be wearing Brooks Mark's eye masks, as we know from. Yeah. I can't get away from it. It was, who did it? The Bravo Bottoms
Starting point is 00:34:45 had a live show in Boston with Joe Bradley and Maddie Reese. Yeah, I got a bone to pick with them. They've done it like two or three times of Boston. Come to Philly, assholes. He messaged us multiple times and said, let's do bros and, uh, what did he say, bros and brads?
Starting point is 00:35:02 him and Bradley come up and do bros and brads I thought was a good idea he said either in New York I would like to do in Charleston though I want to go down there I play golf and like talk around but we'll get that figured out
Starting point is 00:35:14 we've been talking about that for you let's do it this year I think it's time it's time we went to Charleston yeah just in time for you to have a newborn baby well no she'll be like sick I want to bring Dev and the baby Charleston get a little Airbnb you know be a nice little time but uh
Starting point is 00:35:29 baby on a plane what could go wrong dude poppy was on a plane at three weeks old and she's the best she's the best she's the best travel no dude she was a stud so i'm hoping scottie follows suit we'll see but uh anyway back on track we get miss pat and madison and they're talking about sienna and we get a quick cutscene of some unseen footage where she's talking about her grandmother being the president of the southern charm fan club in the bahamas alarming to say the least red flag raising there's a Southern Charm fan club. Yeah, that's alarming. No, I don't think that was real. I think she was being, what is it speaking? And that's not hyperbole, but she's exaggerating. She's exaggerating. But she doubles down. She's like, that's the only reason I went on a date with Shep. And it's like, ooh. And we've obviously heard rumblings that she was a fan of the show. We saw the clip of Madison calling her a stalker. We didn't see this part. So this was new. And what I wasn't expecting was Miss Patricia, who I will,
Starting point is 00:36:31 give credit. And Madison says it best. She does tend to have the best gossip. She drops some bombshells when we're not ready. And it's always kind of laissez-faire where it's like, oh, it's like Taylor sent a nude to Whitney. And everyone's like, what? I'm out. It's what Ken from BPR. Yeah, but also considerate the source.
Starting point is 00:36:51 She's talking to Whitney. I don't like But Whitney, I like Ms. Patricia. Here's the thing, dude. Hold on. The picture of Taylor was real. That was real. I know it was real But like doesn't it rub you the wrong way That this like 45 year old man is telling his mother
Starting point is 00:37:08 That he got new I don't know how fucking old he is I never understand I just told you old he is Yeah But now he's talking about this Like why is he sharing so much with his mom It's creepy that's JT JT's gonna do the same shit
Starting point is 00:37:21 You didn't have friends His friend is JP That dude looked like a He was such a dud They didn't even talk he's blocked in the fucking basement he's blocked in the basement at Whitney's bar he has at least five different
Starting point is 00:37:35 JPs it puts the lotion on the skin JP they call themselves the pussy posse too for sure they're like I'm Leo you're you're Tofer Grace I hate I don't think I don't think
Starting point is 00:37:53 Tofer Grace is part of that I don't think he is but I like throwing him in there And let's do it on. Toby McGuire, too. Toby McGuire is part of it. He is a captain of it. It's the two of them in Orlando Bloom and then a couple other guys.
Starting point is 00:38:09 Oh, my God. And then Whitney and JP are part of it as well. Yeah, they think they're the 2.0, but they're like the negative 4.0, you know. Yeah, dude, fucking get them. It's how it works. Yeah, roasted. They felt that. They felt that over in Ken.
Starting point is 00:38:25 You didn't see, you didn't see his posse tracking behind. behind him at the Southern Charm premiere in New York? No, I didn't actually. I didn't. I didn't pay a lot of attention to him until Joey bottles brought him over. I was like, dude, you got to meet this guy. And then he fucking blew me off. Yeah, Whitney's like, I got my posse with me.
Starting point is 00:38:43 I'm going to go talk to them. He's like, I'm going to go get a drink. I was like, I don't fucking care guy. Like, yeah. Anyway, we find out that Whitney was approached by Sienna first on Raya. So raising a lot of alarm. arms, especially considering Whitney's a producer, everybody knows he's a producer. So this points clearly to a motive, and that's what they're both doing.
Starting point is 00:39:06 They're both Madison and Ms. Patricia are talking about. These are all ulterior motives. She's working on all different kinds of angles. You get that scene of Madison. I appeared, or it appeared to me that she was just being cordial, like, oh, I'd love to come to the Bahamas, like, just a one-off. Like, yeah, of course, who wouldn't want to go to the fucking Bahamas? She's like, we can make it out. Oh, it's big work.
Starting point is 00:39:26 And I'm like, oh, you're getting a little too excited. You're finding a lot of ways to get this cast down to the Bahamas. Yeah, dude. It's exactly what they say. Stalker. Yeah. Stalker energy. Stalker vibes.
Starting point is 00:39:38 Not a good look. Not a good look at all. She's just keeping Shep at like arms length. Like I know that if I get this guy obsessed with me, it gives me an easy in track to get the rest of the cast down here. Maybe they'll do a cast trip down to the Bahamas. Maybe I can make that work, grandma. I mean, they do. I bet they do.
Starting point is 00:39:54 Yeah. I know we haven't taken my cast trip yet. what if there's like some weird like high society and the height of high society is being part of the southern charm fan club in the bahamas is like a secret society yeah it's just trying to appease the queen it's like the illuminati it's like a cult they have just like a lumini type but it's only for southern charm yeah that's interesting i would watch that show but monica's uh monica who was it monica's mom or parent or uncle or something was down monica's whole family's from there monica her whole family is part of that and yeah it's all it all it all comes back to southern charm and the fan club every we all know it we just don't talk about it we know we don't want to get flagged by by the uh b s c fc
Starting point is 00:40:46 the bahamian southern charm fan club yep i'll work on that That one. We'll workshop it. We'll get that. Yeah. You get Craig. He's on his way to go pick up Shep to go meet Austin, which Austin doesn't know Shep's coming. Didn't know that until later. But he's talking to Jerry, his business manager. And they're offering up up to $50,000 to buy Austin out of the podcast. Now, my initial reaction didn't really give a fuck about the money or the quantity. I was like, damn, bro. Austin was stoked to have this sit down with you. He's like giddy. He thinks you guys are coming back together and you're going to divorce him. And we find out when Shep gets in the car, like literally. He's like, I need you to mediate this to hopefully amicable divorce. And I'm like, fuck this, bro. Why?
Starting point is 00:41:34 Why are we shutting down the pod because you guys had one weird altercation in your backyard? This doesn't make sense. Like, it's such an extravagant leap from awkward conversation, friendships a little weird for a little while. And there's a lot of reasons you could point to. obviously Craig's more busy with work. Obviously, his prices have shifted, but at the same time,
Starting point is 00:41:56 we've seen some kind of growth in Austin. We can both attest to that. Austin's been more mellow this season. He's settling down a little bit, relatively speaking for him. So that's progress. What more do you want from the guy? Other than, you know, he's having the hard
Starting point is 00:42:12 conversation. He brought it to your backyard. It didn't go the way you wanted. Now you fucking cast him off the podcast. That's strong. I don't like it at all. I don't like that it seems like at the end of the Madison conversation, yeah, obviously, you know, he got defensive immediately, but it seemed like he was going to extend an olive branch. We see the olive branch and we're on the same side of Austin. Like we were under the impression that this is going to be a sit down to try to hash this out
Starting point is 00:42:36 to get back to at least some sort of neutral ground. Like, hey, you know what? Let's stop talking about the podcast for a little while. Let's start working on us as friends. What do you want for me? What do you want for me? A little bit of back and forth. Obviously, it's not going to go super well, but we've got Shep there.
Starting point is 00:42:49 so at least there is a third person there so it can't get blown to the point of he said this he said that he said this we're done like that's kind of where it would go if there wasn't a third person there and chep was pretty good for this obviously and we'll talk about that in a second but to be able to contact again like Craig sitting there and being so business oriented I'm sorry I wouldn't want to be friends of that guy either and Austin loves them but if one of my friends started to turn into that if like anybody started to turn into that like I I'm business all the time to the point where, yeah, the dynamic of our podcast is off, so I don't want to be friends with you anymore.
Starting point is 00:43:25 I'm going to offer you a buyout. First off, 30K is probably not enough to buy them out. No, no. Given what we know from this side of it, I guarantee that it's way more lucrative than a $30,000 to buyout. Way more. And the fact that the business manager set up to 50 and you're low ball at them. I know. This is your dude.
Starting point is 00:43:45 This is your guy. This is somebody that you started the podcast with and you're going to go into it and say, yeah, maybe 30s enough to get them going? No, this isn't a negotiation. If you want it to be over. Offer on the full amount. Let them actually think about it. Like, no, absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:44:00 So this pissed me off. I hated watching this from Craig. I agree. And I will tell you this right now, if you ever offer to buy me out of the podcast, I will drive to your apartment and drag you out by your mustache. And we're going to figure it out right then and there. You're never getting rid of me, pal. So don't even, don't even think about it.
Starting point is 00:44:18 What if I shave my mustache? What are you going to drag me out by? You don't want to know. A balls? Just don't fucking do it. You hear me? You got it. I'm going to text you once a week.
Starting point is 00:44:35 So, uh, different amounts of money. $1,000. Go fuck yourself. Dude, right. What do you think? Yeah. How about a nice steakhouse dinner?
Starting point is 00:44:45 No, fuck you. You ever been outback, had that bloomin onion? I go down there, get you a blooming onion, hang out with the locals. We have us a good time. But let's get to Austin and Craig because they walk in and again before he's there like Austin looks like he's nervous for a date. He's like sitting there like shuffling around. He's ordering drinks. He's like, oh, we get the food. Like, let me get everything ready. And you know what's about to
Starting point is 00:46:33 happen. It was like this shadow hanging over this scene leading up to him. Like, fuck, this really sucks. And then he walks in with Shep and Austin's whole demeanor shifts. And he's like, here we go again. He's like, it's fucking chess games from Craig. And Craig's, the wishy-washiness of this scene, the back and forth, the mixed signals. He's giving Austin mixed signals because he sits down. We finally get like the three amigos back together, Shep, Austin, and Craig. And obviously we have felt a certain way about Shep in the past, Austin as well. But you cannot deny when these three vibe, their scenes are fun.
Starting point is 00:47:10 They're a fun crew to watch hang out with. Like, no matter what they're- For last year when they went up to Charlotte and Shep. was actively. Was that two years ago? That was like flirting with the waitress. That was last year. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:47:21 I think that was, I believe, I don't know what I'll play. No, it must have been two years ago because him and Taylor were still together. He was like flirting with the waitress and like,
Starting point is 00:47:29 you're right, you're right, you're right. Yeah. Yes, you know, that all just kind of like blends. No,
Starting point is 00:47:34 that wasn't, but there's just something about the crew that I like to, that I like, but they get immediately into it, which I also didn't like. He's like, all right, man,
Starting point is 00:47:42 I think I got, like, even the way he's framing it, you know i got something you're really gonna like it's like awesome's not poor he's not like no he's doing fine and like when you offer like what about 30 000 to give up your part of the podcast and he's not even paying he's like looking off the side he's like dude what the fuck and this this goes to show you his reaction and his response tell you who's wrong in this situation yeah because he goes dude i wasn't even thinking about the podcast the pod wasn't even on my
Starting point is 00:48:12 mind. I just want to, like, Craig's pissed off because he's not telling him what he wants from him, according to Craig. Right. He's literally telling you verbatim what he wants. I just want a friendship with you. There's no other way to look at it as black and white. I just want a friendship. Craig gets activated. He's like, well, you came to my house. You started this. I don't agree with you. I didn't agree with anything you said. I felt betrayed. Like, you cannot agree with stuff you could be upset you could not receive it well but you can't look at that scene and say that austin had bad interests like he went into that scene to try to give you constructive criticism to rekindle some friendships like that's all it was so to see this where you intro with a number
Starting point is 00:48:57 that we know is a low ball number which is slimy to do to your friend regardless of your relationship now and then you act dejected when he doesn't address the podcast and says i just want a friendship with you but then you play defense again like he just told you wants to be your friend like fucking figure it out all all this says to me and and the the way that craig moved so quickly on this the way that he he just pounced on the opportunity to offer austin a buyout he was already thinking about it it just shows me that this was inevitable eventually you are already thinking about this you felt like you guys were growing apart you felt like you guys weren't as close anymore you weren't friends your interests weren't aligning austin wasn't good for business however you want to label it the fact that you did this so
Starting point is 00:49:37 quickly says to me, you were ready to do this anyway. So don't put this on Austin. You felt like this was going to happen anyway. Austin did it out of wanting to have his friend back. He did it out of saying, oh, we're starting to drift apart here. How do we figure this out? Because I want my buddy back. And it doesn't mean I want my drinking buddy back. As he even said, it's not that he wants somebody to go out and party. He doesn't miss the old. He's insulted by the insinuation. Exactly. And all he wants is Craig to be his friend again. How does this look? And Craig keeps saying, well, you know what? Nothing in my life is going to change. So you're going to have to deal with that. That's so annoying. That's so dumb. Just fucking reach out. You guys have been friends for so long. You can figure out a way to
Starting point is 00:50:16 make a new friendship work. Yeah, maybe you don't want to go to the bar anymore. But Austin's willing and ready to do that. He's willing and ready to change how things look. He just wants to be your buddy again. Craig wasn't. So Austin senses that the friendship is drifting. His response is, let me talk to Craig and try to figure this out. Yeah, he's not great with his words, whatever. We already know that. Craig senses that the friendship is drifting. His idea right away is, I got to get rid of him. I got to buy him out of the podcast. I need him out of here.
Starting point is 00:50:43 And I don't want to do this anymore because he doesn't align with where I want to be. And I'm sorry. And I'm not blaming Paige. I'm blaming the way that their relationship was going. You have to understand that Paige is probably in his ear. He's talking to Paige about this and things are getting exacerbated. He's seeing this. He's looking for the future of his life and he doesn't see a way that Austin fits into it.
Starting point is 00:51:03 And that sucks. But you know what? If that's how you feel, you have to talk to him about that and not. in the business way and right now Craig is not able to separate his his mentality from business which is insane to me you get a brief reprieve in the midst of this conversation where he's like look man that he acknowledges that his concerns were valid but he didn't agree with them I'm like okay there's some movement forward because yeah like you can't deny his experience because you don't agree with what he's saying or you don't take criticism well but the fact that he can say to
Starting point is 00:51:32 Austin like friendship is not bailing on each other you're literally trying to pay him money to bail on him. What do you mean? You mentioned that you guys have been through so many ups and downs together. Why is this the final nail in the coffin? That doesn't make any sense. This is not that big of a deal. This was a scrap in the backyard of your house.
Starting point is 00:51:49 And you're taking it super personally because you don't like the way that he criticized you. But again, he even mentions it here. He goes, I was just trying to get you to think about your interpersonal relationships. Shep jumps in. He's like, dude, it feels like a lot of things you're doing these days are very performative. It's very plastic. It looks like you're just trying to, you know, focus on the plan.
Starting point is 00:52:09 I like that Shep and Austin just double teamed them, though, because we've seen Shep move in the last couple of weeks, and we didn't really know where he was going to be. We thought that he liked playing in the middle. He liked playing them against each other, essentially. He was back and forth. And maybe, look, to Shep's credit, maybe he was just trying to understand where both sides were. So he was just being a buddy to both of them individually. But in this moment, Shep made up his mind.
Starting point is 00:52:30 He's like, no, fuck that. Like, Craig is being an asshole. Craig is seeing things only his way or the highway. I'm going to help out Austin because that's, and look, we know that Austin and Shep's interests align a lot more often than Craig's dope. Sure. But still, you're going to have him mediate this. He was doing a good job because Austin was just swimming. He was drowning out there because Craig doesn't allow him to get out. And that's pretty much where we were last week. So having Shep there at least allows us to have a third party say, Craig, you're being fucking nuts. Like this is insane. All of your behaviors for the last six months have been out there. It's all. business. It's all this. It's all PR. You have to reach out and look at Austin and be like, dude, what the hell is actually going on and let him talk about it. Just listen to him. And I thought that they made strides forward because they're like, we just need to accept
Starting point is 00:53:18 each other for who we are. There's always room for improvement. That comes from Craig. It's like, oh, right, dude, this is all that we've needed. This is great. There seems to be a stepping stone forward. You guys can figure this out. The podcast is not going anywhere. We do know, I think they're getting ready to tour again soon. So they're, they clearly figured it out at some point. Maybe this is manufactured for the show. Who knows? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:53:42 But then they throw a wrench into it at the end because Craig's like, but my life's not going to look a lot more differently than it does now. And it's like, all right, so now we just rewound fucking 10 steps because now we're at the beginning of the conversation. You guys were good. That was a good place to leave it and try to grow from that. But you just had to throw back in there because you want to defend yourself because you're still upset about the comments made about you.
Starting point is 00:54:02 Like, why? Also, why did the scene cut off? I don't get it. I don't know. Clearly, they're still sitting there. They still have oysters. I don't think that either of them, if somebody stormed off, if Craig was like, I can't, I can't handle this, they would have shown that.
Starting point is 00:54:14 So that means that they sat there and talked more. I'm sorry, producers, but like, what do you do it? I don't know what they're doing. I don't know what the focus is. We don't need 10 minutes of Anita in fucking JT. I just don't need it. We know what happens. We know what happens and I don't give a shit.
Starting point is 00:54:28 Why are we not showing this? This is finally, it's a quasi-breakthrough in what's been holding the show back for so long, for so many episodes. Here we are. I'm sure the rest of their conversation was probably platonic and nice and maybe they got into it a little bit back and forth again.
Starting point is 00:54:43 But why do we cut it off here? I just don't understand that. I can't wrap my head around that. No, and we want more Vanita, but we don't need more Vanita with JT because we know what happens, right? That's not fun to watch because we're watching irrelevant scenes now.
Starting point is 00:54:56 Correct. Now we're finishing the episode with irrelevance and that's annoying because Vanita, great knife skills, by the way, solve on the whole thing plating cooking bravo yeah it was awesome and j t arrives and it cringes me out immediately that's where mama makes her money i'm like ooh oh mommy that's where mommy makes her money i don't like the way you said that at all and also here you're a chef don't open
Starting point is 00:55:29 the fucking oven don't no don't open the fucking oven you're going to mess up at the temperature they're to mess up the fucking cook times. I got so annoyed. I don't care how much you want to see it. Leave it in there. You'll see it when it's done. You know what? Turn the fucking oven light on and peek through that little glass window that you can't see shit through.
Starting point is 00:55:44 That's also a pet peeve of mine. Oh, mine. I can see through mine. I can see through mine, but it's, and like it's not because it's even dirty. It's just like it's not. It's a little tinted. So you can't really be like the color.
Starting point is 00:55:56 I got tinted windows on my oven. Yeah, what the fuck? No one asked about. I don't know. I don't fuck with that. I love my stove. If those windows were on my car, I'd be getting pulled over.
Starting point is 00:56:03 So why is it? Yeah, you would. I don't know. I don't know. Don't tint my oven. Quit tinting ovens out there. What are we doing? I'm with you.
Starting point is 00:56:08 What are we doing? I want to see my food. Okay. I should have to, but even when I cook it like fancy houses, like rich people ovens, they're still fucking like kind of tinted. They're even more tinted.
Starting point is 00:56:17 They got like the double panes. Yeah. Yeah. Do you know what's interesting about rich people's houses? What's that? The more money you have, the quieter your garbage disposal is. Did you know that?
Starting point is 00:56:27 Oh. Yeah. I guess that kind of makes sense. No, it does, but I didn't know they could be as quiet as they are until I went. I turned it. I was like, I was like, whoa. This is living. I got to get me
Starting point is 00:56:38 one of them fancy car spousos. And I looked, it's like five grand. I'm like, nah, my loud one does just like, and like, that's good. I'm actually renting, so that, yeah, I'm definitely, I'm going to bring it with me. That's what I'll start doing. I'll get a $5,000 car disposal. And then when I move out
Starting point is 00:56:54 of every apartment that I'm in, I'm going to remove it and put the old one back in there. That's a good idea. Just don't. Just leave it out. Don't tell anybody. But I just, it's a tough scene. It's a tough scene top to bottom because Vinias, like, I was first attracted to JT when I was in New York, but I was seeing Manny. So I pumped the brakes on it.
Starting point is 00:57:13 And, you know, she takes the time knowing that JT, he likes to eat lean. She knows that he deals with diabetes. So she aimed this meal towards him. Like, it's brand, you know, it's spinach, it's light, it's for you. Like, she's taking the time out of, out of her day to, like, focus on. on JT, and he's like, it's sweet and spicy, kind of like us. Ew. And what?
Starting point is 00:57:34 And also, the way that this conversation turns, I'm like, this whole thing is wildly inappropriate. Yeah. What are you doing here, Jared? Like, you should not be in this house if you're seeing somebody having this conversation because poor Vanita's like, I have a permanent smile attached to my face. I'm like, that sucks. And he's like, yeah, I'm really attracted to you too, but I'm seeing somebody and I don't
Starting point is 00:57:57 cheat. All right. Maybe we can't call this cheating, but would your girl be cool? I'm close. This is as close as you can get. You're tolling the line. And even Vanita says it at the end of the scene. She's like, if my guy, if somebody I was dating was having this conversation with another woman, I'd be out.
Starting point is 00:58:15 And rightfully so. And this, again, goes to show you that he hides behind this nice guy facade. Just because you walk in and have flirtatious conversations, share a meal together, address, the chemistry, address the tension, say that you're attracted, to recall each other sweet and spicy, you know, this other bullshit, but then you want to sound like, do you're holier than now because you're like, but I've got a girlfriend and I don't do that. And I wouldn't want to be with somebody that would be a homewrecker. And I don't want you to do that. So like, this is as far as we can go, I, you know what? I actually have to leave. I am taking the
Starting point is 00:58:49 righteous approach and I'm getting up and walking out on my own volition. It's like, no, motherfucker, you did all of this already. You had the flirtatious conversation. You pushed boundaries. You made her feel certain things. And then you completely retracted it to try to seem like you are a stand-up guy. There is a 0.0% chance that the girl you're seeing would be cool with the interaction that just took place in this house. Because guess what? Nobody fucking would.
Starting point is 00:59:17 Not one person. If Dev was having dinner with a dude like this, I'd be very upset. If I was having dinner with a woman like this, Dev would be very upset. just because you take the high road at the end of the dinner does not take away from the fact that you shouldn't have been there in the first place, which once again points to this whole bullshit nice guy thing is just an act by JT, which is further proven by the fact that he and Vanita did start dating and then he fucking ghosted her until he went Instagram official with another woman. So he can kiss my butt and suck a fart. because this guy is the worst. Get him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:59 I got him. Go off. No, so obviously, fuck this scene. Fuck, J.T. But, yeah. What the fuck? So he says in this scene that he's seeing somebody. And obviously, Vanita gets taken back.
Starting point is 01:00:18 We get a little clip of who he's dating. It's this girl named Allie, who is the girl that he went Instagram official with. oh it is i just i that's what i was just looking up i was letting you go off while i was doing a little research so yeah that is the same girl which means now we don't know this this is my question was this just more of what we saw in this scene that happened and benita was like oh yeah you know maybe it's not going so well with the other girl and you know he's kind of taken a liking to me if there is a hard fucking episode of jt looking at her i don't know why i just said that that that That was a terrible phrase.
Starting point is 01:00:58 Jesus Christ. If there's confirmation at some point in the next couple of episodes where J.T. says, yeah, I'm not like seeing her anymore. I want to see you exclusively. Does that mean that he's still seeing the other girl or did he like, did she put him on the backburners? And then because what I think happened is him and that girl, Allie, we're talking, dating, whatever you want to say. I know you've got issues with the nuances of relationships. if that happens
Starting point is 01:01:27 we do this all the time if they're dating and then she goes to him and says you know what we got to take some space we got to take a step back and then he starts dating Vanita this is what I think happened that original girl Ali reaches out to him
Starting point is 01:01:43 and says hey why don't we try this again he drops Vanita and heartbeat and within a couple of weeks he's doing that that's what I think is probably going to happen and look that just means for JT Venita is you know second opportunity she's you know backup plan plan B whatever you want to call her which fucking sucks that absolutely sucks for her the fact that he would do it drop that
Starting point is 01:02:04 and I also saw because he still has it up on his fucking Instagram he didn't do you were right he didn't do the last three or four interviews for the confessionals maybe that was where he is out but he is in the season and now I'm thinking that all of this is connected I think the issue is he was probably stringing Benito along and then towards the end of the season And while they were still filming, he got back with Allie, felt weird about it, as you fucking should, and decided, you know what, this isn't for me anymore. I'm not going to do this anymore. Probably because all, okay, yeah, I see that. Probably because in those confessionals, he probably sheds a little bit more light on what him and Benita were doing, if they were actually dating, what's going on. And he doesn't feel like he needs to do that because now he's got his girlfriends. Now, I don't know if they're still together because the last post was from November. No posts of that girl, Allie since then. So, you know, I hope he is alone and sad because of all the people to do this to, sweet, sweet Vanita was not deserving of it. It's whole shit.
Starting point is 01:03:06 And like, it's so fucked. Taylor, Taylor wouldn't be able to handle it. No, but like the fact that like, you know, they finally give her more screen time. And it's to do this, it's like, fuck you guys. Like, give her something more. She can do more. I think it's bullshit. But yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:20 Let's get to some questions. From K. Stokes 829, was anyone else uncomfortable watching J.T. and Vanita? Yes. All of us were. We all were. Every single person that watched the show is uncomfortable. Yes. From K. Sparklic, where J.T. and Vanita attempt at a showman's for their respective. We've done that one. I did the same thing for a long time. Yep, yep, yeah. Sorry. We read. We read. Usernames are to. were JT and Vanita
Starting point is 01:03:53 an attempt at a showmance for their respective brands I think on JT's side, yes I think on JT's side he's a fucking loser On Benita side I think on Vanita side I think she's very incredibly vulnerable
Starting point is 01:04:08 after what happened with Manny and I am not going to blame her I mean neither from Ali Vargas why did JT even bother bringing this up to Vanita if he's actively with somebody else because he likes to be wanted he likes that feeling of her saying that
Starting point is 01:04:20 It makes him feel big. He had a moment. He was like, tell me how much you want to be with me. Sike. I already got somebody. Smell you later. That's just, that's all. He wanted to feed his ego.
Starting point is 01:04:29 That's all he was doing. From Amanda Spazzano, rank the guys on a scale of douche. J.T. Austin Craig Schep. I'm also going to throw Whitney in there. Number one, douche is, oh, it's J.T. Right. Whitney is a close second.
Starting point is 01:04:50 Then I'll go Craig Shep Austin. Craig's a bit douchey right now. I'll go. Austin's not being a douche. She's just a sad boy. Whitney J.T. Shep, Craig Austin. You think Shep's still a douche?
Starting point is 01:05:04 Yeah. I do. I haven't forgiven him for his previous behaviors because he's still not taking full account of it. I have already admitted he's having a better year. Normally he would be very bottom of my list. But yeah, I think he's doing fine. It's just, you know, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Starting point is 01:05:18 But yeah. Austin's not. He's just a sad boy. He's in the sad boy club. Max June, should this show be rebooted? No. No, we're not there yet. They just need to, they need to get some key friendships back on track. There's just disconnect this season. It's disjointed. That's all we're seeing. And I don't think that it's reason to pull the parachute yet. This is a long one, so bear with me from Sarah Hills. Not so much a question, but to add why Sally seems shady. She was on the Bachelor right after her ended engagement, then Bachelor in Paradise briefly, then Soho, now Southern Charm, really seems obsessed with getting reality TV famous.
Starting point is 01:05:59 Could be. Or there's smoke, there's fire. The producers are looking at her and saying, you're kind of interesting. I like you for a show. Maybe that works. Yeah, it could be a little bit of both. And, you know, you have experience in this. Yeah, she's got experience.
Starting point is 01:06:11 I think she's fine. I don't have any issues in Sally right now. I don't either. I think she's fine. I do still think she's suss, but I don't think that. she i think she's good for the show yeah i think she's a good addition i think that all of them are all the newcomers actually molly i believe is the better one but this is a weird one um from kimmie teacher have you noticed that the only people who filmed with vina is uh leva
Starting point is 01:06:34 and j t in the one-on-one scenes i we i think we had a madison one-on-one scene last year but yes we never get like craig or austin or anything it's no she gets host it's bullshit i don't know what it is. It's fucking nuts. Like, just give her some fucking screen time, dude. This is interesting, and this will bring up some questions. I think, hopefully we get answers to.
Starting point is 01:06:58 I do believe Shooter's theory. From Daria, PNG, Vanita said she didn't know about the girlfriend, and he ghosted her after the trailer dropped. So, I agree with Shooter. I think it's somewhere along the way that girl pulled back from JT. He had his backup plan in Benita,
Starting point is 01:07:15 hung out with Benita, and I think that Ali wanted to get back and he dropped her. That makes more sense to me. So I think we'll see more from the J.T. Vanita saga before the season's over. We'll do one more. Ooh, I don't know if we have enough time for this. We'll try real quick. From Packy Knees 71, if you could produce a reality show, what would it look like?
Starting point is 01:07:39 What's the Bros and Shows reality TV show? Minor League Baseball team. Yep. Yeah. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's genius. Honestly,
Starting point is 01:07:52 there's so much drama there. Yeah. Boom. Done. I'd produce that show with you. That'd be a fucking hit, by the way. That would be a hit. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:07:58 that would be a fucking hit. Let's cut this, actually. I don't want anybody steal. Yeah, copyright. How do you copyright words as soon as you say them? You know what copyrighted?
Starting point is 01:08:06 We draw the copyright thing on screen. I think it works. Follow me like a Disney channel, original movie. Just, you know. Yeah. You start at the top.
Starting point is 01:08:14 Ready? Go. I went too fast Yeah We're just doing circles Okay we're gonna With a circle Oh I did the circle first
Starting point is 01:08:25 Okay do I do see I think you start with the C And then you finish the circle yeah There we got You guys are missing out if you're not watching on YouTube We're copyrighted But I think that's legal That's legally binding
Starting point is 01:08:36 If you fuck or steal that Hey let's reach out to Will Maybe he's got a highfalutin lawyer job Yeah you can be I can't wait talk about so-ho. So-ho is so good. It is so fucking good. But yeah, we got another episode to record so that the baby birds got content to feed on all week. We got a lot of episodes coming out. So stay tuned. Buckle up, bros and go birds. You got anything else? Nope. Go birds.
Starting point is 01:09:05 Met our show. Brows got to go. Go birds. I'm Amy Nicholson, the film critic for the LA Times. And I'm Paul Shear, an actor, writer and director. You might know me from the League or my non-eligible for Academy Award role in Twisters. We love movies, and we come at them from different perspectives. Yeah, like Amy thinks that, you know, Joe Pesci was miscast in Goodfellas, and I don't. He's too old. Let's not forget that Paul thinks that Dude, too, is overrated. It is.
Starting point is 01:09:35 Anyway, despite this, we come together to host Unspooled, a podcast where you talk about good movies, critical hits. Fan favorites, must season, and case you miss them. We're talking Parasite the Home Alone. From Greece to the Dark Night. We've done deep dives on popcorn flicks. We've talked about why Independence Day deserves a second look. And we've talked about horror movies, some that you've never even heard of like Ganges and Hess.
Starting point is 01:09:57 So if you love movies like we do, come along on our cinematic adventure. Listen to Unspooled wherever you get your podcast. And don't forget to hit the follow button. Hey, Michael. Hey, Tom. You want it, Tom? Are you going to meet it, though?
