Bros & Shows - Skiing With All of Our Friends and Booty Calls? (NextGen NYC Full Recap S2E10)

Episode Date: August 28, 2026

What's up bros??? We're up in the Catskills with the crew for a little chill ski weekend and by little we mean massive and by chill we mean absolutely not even remotely chill. I think by now everyone ...clearly sees that Charlie is the straw that stirs the drink that is this show and maybe even some of the cast are starting to catch on which really helps. Slowly but surely it seems like we're rounding out the cast and oh wait nevermind that's Brooks complaining again and not wanting to be part of anything. Figure it out Brooksy! People thought denim on denim was peak fashion, inline skates were everywhere,
Starting point is 00:00:38 and two out of three women rocked, the Rachel. While those things stayed in the 90s, one thing that hasn't is that fuzzy feeling you get when WestJet welcomes you on board. Here's to WestJetting since 96. Travel back in time with us and actually travel with us at westjet.com slash 30 years. I'm still fully team Liam, but my man made a drastic error. That guy, he let Charlie get in his head, jump the gun. And I'm really curious how he tries to dig himself out of this hole,
Starting point is 00:01:08 or if he even does, or if this is why Ariana ends up boinking Charlie. It could be honest. At the same time, it's also what makes the show very compelling is making wrong choices, blaming the wrong people, going after, just kind of making those terrible jump decisions that put you in a place that's great for TV, probably not great for you. Ah, you're 20s. What a time. As there's a drive in a deep left field by Castellanos.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Oh man, it's 8 o'clock. And so that'll make it a... I don't need the spotlight. I shine just fine. Hi, I'm Karma. And yes, I am a bitch. Brov Bros. Good afternoon, everybody.
Starting point is 00:01:54 Welcome back to another episode of Brov Bros. Your favorite podcast from The Bros. For everybody, for whoever wants to listen. I'm your co-host, St. Russell, joined as always by the one and only cat skill magoot so it's up dude i'll take it yeah what was that like a seven hour drive that they had fucking like seven hour drive to go what like a hundred miles maybe yeah and we got to do our favorite thing which is listen to people complain about length of drives or duration this one cars yeah i mean look they set themselves up for failure
Starting point is 00:02:30 by complaining about a three hour drive to like start off with you like start off with with, it was never going to be good. I mean, you know those drives. Anytime that New York, and we know on the East Coast, if you're going through New York around New York, you always account for an additional, like, hour and a half, two hours. God forbid you see a tunnel pop up on your navigation. I'm going to Boston.
Starting point is 00:02:50 I'm not going through New York to get to Boston. Leave me alone. I don't need to go through the Lincoln Tunnel. So I get that. But it is very funny. Like, oh, three hours in the car. That's brutal. Like, no, it's not that bad.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Come up. Stop complaining in New York people. agreed. Did you know they changed the name of the battery tunnel? No, to what? I couldn't tell you somebody's name. But yeah, when I went to go cook with Alex Gordeshirely last week, I drove to New York and I was very confused because my directions took me a place. I've never been. I was like, I don't know what this tunnel is.
Starting point is 00:03:22 The Cuomo Tunnel? Yeah, it's the Cuomo. The Cuomo Nipple Ring Tunnel. Yeah, that's what they call it, the nip ring ton. Yep, exactly. But yeah, they renamed it. But anyway, if you're watching on YouTube, you may think that I'm down the shore with the decor here. But I actually just redesigned my back room to feel more shore like.
Starting point is 00:03:46 So this is all my stuff. It's like Ashley Darby building her house. Oh, my God. But making it look like a beach house because she really likes the beach. That's crazy. The fact that we had to watch this journey with Ashley Darby. Oh, that was one of the worst. years. Dude, yeah. It was a really bad Potomac season and we're just looking for anyone's
Starting point is 00:04:09 storyline to be somewhat fun. And Ashley's storyline was, I really like the beach. There's water nearby and it's like a reservoir in the middle of like a community right outside of the yeah. Okay. And like to go from that concrete dungeon with Gallum and then you get your first house and you got some money now too. And you're like what am I going to do with it? I know. I like the seven year old beach house. So yeah, that's what Steele's doing. He's paying homage to Ashley Darby,
Starting point is 00:04:39 as everybody should. We learned that all, and it's a big girl's trip. Every room in my house is dedicated to a different house wife. That's actually fun. Oh, man, that's like the Lindsay Hubbard, Nashville house,
Starting point is 00:04:51 the Hub house where it's just like fun summer house memories. At least that's what I think it was. I haven't seen it in a while, but putting fun summer house memories, Steele's just building a house and every room is in, different. Like, do you have a fish room? I assume you have like an aquarium fish room, right? I'm currently working on it. It's in my basement. Since my basement floods, I'm just putting fish in the water now. Good, good. Yeah, that's where you definitely need to start. Uh,
Starting point is 00:05:14 but anyway, yeah, no, we're talking about next gen here. What, this is such a fun show. It's so much, so much entertainment. And Charlie put on an absolute masterclass of reality TV in this episode. This is exactly why. And I need, I think some of the cast, there were some instances throughout the season where some of the cast got it. They see what Charlie is and they realize how good that can be for them. And then the rest of the cast is like, I can't be around this guy. Like Brooks, I'm sorry, buddy. Seemed like a nice guy.
Starting point is 00:05:43 I feel like we do this every episode now. This was as good a Charlie episode it was. It was such a bad Brooks episode. He is missing the point on every conversation to the point where we're in the car and he has headphones in. And I look, I do this too. I put my headphones in and act like I'm listening to music. It's a great move.
Starting point is 00:06:02 But get involved. Like this is, this is such a good chance for you. And use it later. It's like he doesn't realize that they're filming a TV show or he thinks he's like resting on his laurels because of who his parents are. Like, NEPO baby reality TV. I didn't think that was a thing. It is.
Starting point is 00:06:17 And like I get it if you're going to show up and she has been doing a little bit better. Obviously, Ariana's great. Riley is Riley. She'll figure it out at some point. Obviously it looks like she's going through stuff with Candy and Todd breaking up and all that shit. But you get to Brooks. You're like, God, you're so boring. I'm sorry, but you are so boring and you want nothing to do with these people that are making the show great.
Starting point is 00:06:37 And you could be a part of it, but you choose at every turn to not be a part of it and to keep asking questions. Come on, you got to figure it out, buddy. I think the most shocking revelation that I've had about Brooks is like, wow, you're like just a normal guy. Like, I kind of figured that, you know, given some of the cut scenes that we've seen in Salt Lake where, you know, he's a little catty or has like a good drop. I figured he was going to be like a little bit more messy. He's super normal. And like that's kind of his problem because he'll go to confessionals and say exactly what we all at home are thinking.
Starting point is 00:07:12 I'm like, yeah. He went and said, are we all just going to gloss over that she said she wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole? Like what the fuck's going on? Totally. Say that in the car.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Four weeks later though. This is the thing. When he said that, I feel like that was. more like piling on for me for this episode for Brooks because obviously, you know, we start off with the headphone thing and then Charlie throws out a would you rather essentially saying, would you rather shy be your stepdad and be married to your mom or me with your sister? And he's like, ah, neither.
Starting point is 00:07:48 No. Like that is such a. That's the microcosm of Brooks. Neither. It is. I'm not playing. It's like Charlie of all people is rolling out the red carpet for you to at least get involved in some way in a funny way.
Starting point is 00:08:01 You can't even bring yourself to do that. And I don't even think it's because Charlie's involved. He's just like who he is. He's a man, a principal. He doesn't want to deal with it. You shouldn't be on a show like this. It's like, come on. You're reasonable.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Yeah, I guess. I mean, it seems like he is, or at least that's how he wants to be perceived. But we get even into that. And when you just said, when we're sitting at dinner later and he said, are we just gloss you over the fact that she's, yeah, sure. But we are so far past that. She's switched seats with him on the way back from Vegas.
Starting point is 00:08:28 She's clearly at his house. She's been in this house like twice. They've been flirting in front of everybody and everybody has noticed it. You're still stuck on the 10 foot pole comment? Like, we have moved on so far from that. There are so many things going on. And yeah,
Starting point is 00:08:41 I guess to your point, if you say it at the table, it forces an issue or forces a conversation. Say it in the car. Like say it in the car. I agree with you. I mean, my point is like there's been multiple times where he has a comment in a
Starting point is 00:08:53 confessional where I'm like, yes, not bad. Or yeah, that's kind of how we're thinking about this whole thing. Yeah. Whatever. But it does nothing for you as a reality TV star to tell us that in the confessional.
Starting point is 00:09:06 We need you to mix it up with the people on your cast so that we can learn to love you. Because I do think, I think that there's a reality star in Riley. Like, I do think that she's in there. I think there's a way that Brooks could be wildly entertaining. But maybe he's shy. Maybe he's nervous on camera. Maybe he's got performance anxiety. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:27 But there's something in him where it's like, your confessionals are mildly funny. You have some good insight on certain things. You're more normal than I thought you were. But then be the voice of reason on the cast. But to do that, you have to talk. You can't just sit there and be like, la la la, la, not listening.
Starting point is 00:09:43 You put, you did the headphones trick. That's a great trick, as we said. You should be taking mental notes to use everything said in the car later. You're like, ooh, I'm going to bury him there. Ooh, if Ariana tries to back off of what she said earlier, I can go ahead and throw this. that's what should be happening. But instead, he's just like, ooh, I don't want to get involved.
Starting point is 00:10:02 Like, ooh, this is messy. Yeah. Ooh, ooh, ooh. I'm just going to trust everybody with what they said rather than read the context clues and see what's going on around me. She said X, so I believe it instead of. Yeah. Maybe she's lying.
Starting point is 00:10:14 It's really just like he's not bad enough to ruin the show by any means. I agree. There's so many good things going for this show and so many good moments. It's just a glaring weak spot when we get there. And I think part of it is. we expect it a little bit more and we currently expect more. And I don't know when that's going to run out, but we expect more from Meredith's son.
Starting point is 00:10:34 We expect more from somebody that we've seen on Salt Lake who does those dropings and has a pretty good comment. Yeah, very big shoes to fill. I just think it's going to get to a point where it's like, okay, let's stop hearing what Brooks has to say. It's just there's so much else going on. It's going to get to a derailing point. It will eventually. And it kind of does that even in this episode where we're going around and everybody bopping from car to car. are talking about pretty much the same thing, having a fun time playing games.
Starting point is 00:11:01 And then Brooks speaks up and you're like, oh, God, I don't even think you fit in. Like, I know it's that weird middle grounds where we talk about it. We don't want things to be overproduced. We don't want you to be hyper aware that there's cameras. But we also don't want you to just live your normal life if your normal life is, I want nothing to do with that. And that's kind of where Brooks is. Brooks is at the other end of that spectrum where he's clearly not producing moments for the show.
Starting point is 00:11:24 He's clearly not doing a whole lot of things and being hyper aware that there's cameras around, but he's also not getting involved. And he's not realizing this is reality television. I have to say something. I can't just sit this one out or these ones out or everything out in that matter. So it's just a weird situation for him. And I think it's going to get to that point. Again, it's not at a point where I'm calling for his head and he needs to get off
Starting point is 00:11:45 the show because it's ruining the show. But there are very clear moments where we're having fun, having fun. Brooks, what do you think? Do we really need to find out of Brooks things? And then we go back to having fun. So it's just that one little millisecond where you see him. him and you're like, I know, go to someone else, please. I'm trying to think of like a way to get him moving in the right direction.
Starting point is 00:12:05 I feel like he needs to sit down with another normalish member of their cast, like a, like a Bradley from Soho, like sit down with Bradley Carter, like, hey, you have done a very good job of not getting in the middle of shit for the most part, but you are also involved. Obviously, we saw Bradley take a huge step forward on that cast this season. So like talk to Bradley be like how do you stay normal but get involved and be entertaining maybe bravo should do like a retreat where it's like some of the people that we think could be good don't film it no no this is just for their game and then we'll see how it plays out after the fact but like send a few of the rookie reality let us run a couple of the vets oh my god
Starting point is 00:12:49 yeah we'll call it boot camp this would be great bravo boot camp with the brav bros and actually now maybe film that No, I don't want to be on camera, actually. No, let's not film it, but we'll make as many comments about it as we possibly can. This is our audition to be producers for Bravo. Yeah, yeah. They come out of Bravo's boot camp and they're entertaining. That it shows that we know what we're doing.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Give us a show. Give us something to produce. Damn it. We've been asking for five years. Yeah. Yeah, give us something. At least just let us be like talent scouts. Send us to Cleveland's.
Starting point is 00:13:23 Yeah, you're going to get Cleveland one way or another. I don't know. But as per usual, we do a longer preamble with this show because not a lot happens. It's kind of the charm of this show. There's like we were talking about before we started recording. There's like two or three issues per episode. And then we jump around and talk about those issues throughout the entire episode, which is kind of nice now that we know how to cover it.
Starting point is 00:13:45 In the beginning, it was an absolute nightmare. We've hit our stride a little bit more. But I do love before we always get into everything, we get the random shit going on. that's something that this group has that I can't say any other group on Bravo really has because there's a lot of money, obviously, for 20-year-olds to have. And when you give 20-year-olds a lot of money, they're going to try to do a lot of shit. That's really funny because we go to Georgia and it's like, all right, how's you yuck going? Well, you know, Cooper, my business partner, he's out.
Starting point is 00:14:17 And I found that doing business with friends probably isn't the best idea. But my other buddy, he's done a lot of startups, my cousin. I think it's a good idea to get involved with him. It's like you just said, like, this has been a problem. And you're like, nah, but he knows what's going on. Then you find out that yuck cannot be trademarked. So now she's really up Shits Creek. It sounds to me, like Georgia has a lot of ideas.
Starting point is 00:14:40 And I think she runs through these ideas and gets them like to the beginning of what would be like a startup. And then doesn't finish that step. And then she's like, ah, it didn't work out. On to the next thing. First, there was the club. The club didn't work out. she's blaming Charlie. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:57 Or Omar. Or Omar. And it's like, yeah, okay, fine. They might have, you know, stolen your idea a little bit. Maybe. But it's not like there's like 30 clubs in New York alone, I'm sure with the exact same theme, exact same vibe, exact same entertainment. Like it's not like you can't replicate a good bar or a good club and do the same
Starting point is 00:15:20 thing elsewhere and have the same result. So to me it sounds like. it's their fault, but now I don't have to follow through with that. So I'm going to go into Yuck. And it's like, ah, I can't trademark it. And my business partner is a dickhead. So I can't, it's his fault. It just sounds like a lot of placing claim or like shifting things around.
Starting point is 00:15:37 And it just, we're not getting anything to fruition here. Here's the big problem. And I'll just focus in on Yuck. She wants to run a company that creates cleaning products, but she's already on record saying that she doesn't wash her hands. So, like, I don't know. Maybe that's not what I want my owner or business founder to exemplify. I just spitball in here.
Starting point is 00:16:01 But yeah, this is what Georgia does that makes her incredible. Going completely opposite of what actual good, like, business, like, ventures are. I had a business with Cooper that fell apart. He's just my friends. Let me get closer. I think it's better the closer you are to the person that you're starting the business with. Like, she's very close. Didn't we meet her?
Starting point is 00:16:23 Was it her? Is that the same cousin that we met? Or was it her brother or something? I don't know. I don't know. That dude was awesome. I would love to have more of him on TV. And if this is just a means to an end to get him on TV, fine. But I don't, I cannot confirm nor deny that it was the same person.
Starting point is 00:16:40 Yeah. Yeah. It's just I love it. And I always really appreciate. I think I appreciate this even more now because there's so many like Bravo Lebris that are becoming DJs and singers and all that shit that really bothers May when you have just a good old fashioned. I'm starting a weird ass cleaning business.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Cool. Like let me see how that goes. I want to see how that goes. Open a club. That's so much better than becoming a DJ. Like that seems fun. Like those are the things that I want to see. We just kind of did like a weird segue into everybody has to be an entertainer.
Starting point is 00:17:10 And I hate it. They're all terrible. None of them are good. Obviously the OGs are fine. But any of the newer ones like, I don't, I don't want to do it anymore. Enough of that. Go back to what made things great. Start liquor businesses.
Starting point is 00:17:21 get a skinny girl margarita, make some pizzas or whatever in New Jersey. I'm sure we're going to talk about that. We need more beauty products. We need more beauty products. Like those are the things that I want to see. I don't want to see the entertainment business anymore. No, I'm with you. I like this deviation back to small businesses.
Starting point is 00:17:39 I think it's the best way to do it because they inevitably lead to good storylines. You got Whitney losing it, losing her business. That becomes a whole thing in Salt Lake. You got the pizza thing. Jersey becoming a whole nightmare. So yeah, like by starting small businesses that inevitably don't work out, we get good storylines from those businesses. So I agree. I think that we're on the right track here, getting back to to Broncos and bolts here. But also just like a huge issue. And I think it's going to become a big talking point. Maybe
Starting point is 00:18:10 next season if Brooks is still there, juxtaposing these scenes between Brooks's clothing line that we've heard all about his loungeware that made them look like, is somebody called this out on Twitter, made everybody look like telitubbies. And then you go over to Shai, who's got Liam, Charlie, and Riley all wearing his cool-looking clothes and doing like an actual fun shoot where Liam gets to bring his motorcycle in,
Starting point is 00:18:33 Charlie gets to be Charlie, Riley gets to be Riley. Then you go back over and everybody's complaining about Brooks's line. Like wait, I've heard so much. Yeah, like I've heard so much about this line and it's just loungeware.
Starting point is 00:18:44 Like I know it's loungeware, but this isn't any different than anything else. And then we go into the... It's like Terry Clark, bro. And it's falling apart. Our heads are falling off. Yeah, it's just, it's so funny to watch that. And with the discourse that's already led up to this between Shai and Brooks and
Starting point is 00:19:02 shy trying to get Brooks to model for his business, if Shai's business takes off even a little bit and he gets some notoriety going into next season and we're still sitting here comparing Brooks's line to tell it tubbies, that's going to be an issue. And maybe we've seen Shai be very, very open to, uh, getting a little bit bigger of an ego and maybe stepping in some shit maybe that's where shy goes i mean shy's taking such a big step this season from where he was even episode one and obviously the first season he's he's going to be a mainstay on this cast that might rub brooks the wrong way moving into next season that would be fun to watch like that's a good organic storyline of dueling
Starting point is 00:19:39 clothing companies that and watching the guy that was supposed to be an irrelevant friend of step into the spotlight is going to piss off multiple people on that guy's you got a few nepo babies here they'd be like, wait, whoa, whoa, whoa. All it took was Riley giving him a little push, just saying that you've got acquaintances. And now he's looking at things differently. Look at him now. Shai's really starting to step up. But like you said, we had the photo shoot, which is funny.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Then everyone gets in the car and we got to drive for three hours, four hours. Georgia takes her own ride, which was also very funny to see her, like, navigate this whole scene on her own. And the face time in the car, all of that stuff. She gets to the house first. obviously it's a Bravo show so we have to fight over rooms you know Liam got his buddy's ski house it looks awesome but there's
Starting point is 00:20:27 only five rooms there's bunk beds whatever Charlie's being a little bitch about the whole thing which is not surprising at all he strikes me as the guy that's like well I'm a bit dead right hold on let me I thought that too because everybody's talking about it like who cares we're just going up to the cat
Starting point is 00:20:42 skills it's going to be a fun weekend I always forget that Charlie's like 31 after I turn 30 I do not want to be rooming with bunk beds in my room or with somebody else in my room. Yeah, well, that's probably a different thing. But I understood where he was coming from where he's like, wait, what? Like, let's just get. And that's just Charlie B.
Starting point is 00:21:01 Like, I don't think he, like, I think he kind of cares about the room, but he's also just going to bitch about things just to see. Yeah, sure. Like he's, and it's Liam who he hasn't really had a whole lot of interactions with. And obviously, there's the Arianna thing between the two of them. So I think he's just going to try to poke and prod and see what he can do. And that's just kind of what he does in this group. And it usually results in everybody kind of just jumping on them or agreeing with him or whatever it might be.
Starting point is 00:21:24 But it makes for good TV. I agree. But, you know, I'll never say he's not good for TV. It doesn't mean that I like him as a person. I think he's a fucking douchebag. I do. I like phenomenal TV star. Like without question, I can't stand the guy.
Starting point is 00:21:38 But he does show up for the show. He drives storylines. And he knows what he's doing. Like, that's the funniest part watching him navigate all of these scenes. Like when he goes and brings up the. fact that Arianna left the charger at his house and starts saying like horny late night booty call and like if I want to fucker I'm going
Starting point is 00:21:55 to it. Nah, just kidding guys. He's just putting seeds out there to piss people off so that when it closed up inevitably he can get in people's heads and literally the result of Liam or jump on the gun but whatever saying I love you at 5.30 in the morning is a direct
Starting point is 00:22:10 result of Charlie getting in his head. That's 100% Charlie living in his brain rent free. He got too drunk stayed up too late, got riled up and said some stupid shit. And I'm sure as soon as you woke up was like, fuck. Well, here's the other caveat of all of this, which is something I noticed and allegedly, based on my own eyes, I would say there's some pasta involved on a trip like this where you're going up to the Catskills with a bunch of people from New York who were in their 20s. So that may have contributed to the wire people awake at 630 at the morning, which I think is very funny.
Starting point is 00:22:48 carbs what do you what do you mean why are people awake at six why are people ever awake at 630 in the morning it's hard to go to sleep after you eat a bunch of pasta it's so funny to me like just it's legitimately going to your confessional and questioning that and like I'm staring at you through the screen like come on put it together really I know you don't want to obviously out your friends or whatever it might be but we saw some of this like early seasons of summerhouse which like I don't understand we even saw it last year on summerhouse where people People were awake until like 7 a.m. And that's when Sierra and West were like making out on the couch.
Starting point is 00:23:23 Why do you think they're awake? Like come on. Let's let's just use them. Allegedly, but come on. But allegedly, but come on. So yeah, that was very funny. There's so many different things. And you're right.
Starting point is 00:23:34 All of that is a direct correlation to what Charlie is doing and how he's moving. And we'll talk about the dinner scene in a little bit as well. But him in the car is that you're right. He's just planting seeds. And there again, you have to understand what's going on. They're in a three-hour ride that turned into a seven-hour ride. They started at 10 a.m. They're not supposed to get there until like 5 or 5.30.
Starting point is 00:23:56 It's getting dark out. They're getting a little haywire. Charlie's just trying to drum up some shit and just have some fun in the car. And yeah, if you look at it one way, I'm not going to blame you for thinking a girl texted me. I'm home. It's 1 o'clock in the morning. She's clearly a little drunk.
Starting point is 00:24:12 It could be a booty call. You never know. Maybe she wants to just come over and smoke a joint, but it might be a booty call. So throwing it out there isn't wrong. It's not like he's using wrong information or like misleading people. He's just like, yeah, I mean, some people can look at that as a booty call. What are you guys? Enough that you can't just like shut the door on it.
Starting point is 00:24:28 And that's what his plan was. So no one in the car could be like, no, no, except for Brooks who's in the back seat. Like, what do you mean? She told you she wouldn't touch you with a 10 foot. Brooks. Come on, buddy. Like we have moved so far past that. We're talking about something.
Starting point is 00:24:41 She came over to my house at 1 a.m. What do you mean she wouldn't touch me with a 10 foot pole? Let's go. Yeah. And at the same time, you can, 100% chalk it up to. No, they're not exclusive. No, she wasn't going.
Starting point is 00:24:52 Like, maybe she likes to flirt with Charlie a little bit here and there. But she is a single woman going to smoke a joint with her friend with her friends in tow. Like, it's also, if you look at it that way, it's like, this is not that crazy of an event. No. I'm sure this has happened plenty of times. But again, open ended enough that we can speculate and cause some shit, which is exactly what happens. And you get this whole powwow with Ava and co. talking about like what this means and because you have people on such different sides of the street
Starting point is 00:25:22 which is good for something like this on TV not good for real life because it's going to spiral this into something it didn't need to be but because you have Ava that's just going hmm that's tea on the other side you got Brooks like this is nothing this is nothing Riley is more on the side of like this is nothing but you have that conversation of like one person's like this kind of tea the other person's like it's totally not it's like now we're going to cause all kinds of shit. This is going to go a place. It never, ever needed to go.
Starting point is 00:25:50 And all Charlie has to do is now walk in, quote unquote, defend himself and say, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, don't blow this up. I was just joking. I'm trolling a little bit because when it all falls apart, which he knows it will, he's going to do what he does at dinner and go, no, I'm saying this. So you get off of Ariana's back. It's not that serious. It's masterful. Like he is a master manipulator, terrified. type of person.
Starting point is 00:26:17 But this was all planned. Like that's the funny part. And especially when you have these 22, 23, 24 year olds, he's literally just like plugging and playing. Whatever the fuck he wants to do right now he is. You see it get out of hand, which it's going to every once in a while.
Starting point is 00:26:31 And you can kind of see the real Charlie come out when he starts going off and Kendall's in the backseat, loses his cool ever so briefly. That is what Kendall said. I feel like I saw the real Charlie. You did. That was him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:43 But he's going to bury that dude. As soon as he gets his anger out, he's going to bury that back down and start moving pieces again, which is exactly what he did. Lo and behold, who's the asshole? Somehow it's Liam. And Liam allowed that to happen to, which he just fell right in the trap and just starting spiraling. Let's take a quick little ad break here and we'll get right back to next gen. This episode is sponsored by Vinted. I feel like we all have that section of our closet filled with clothes that we keep telling ourselves that we're going to wear again. I promise. We're definitely going to wear that shirt again, even though it didn't really fit that well, even though I didn't really get any compliments. Or it still has the tags on it and I actually never wore it, but I have an idea that I might wear it. And I've been trying to be better about cleaning out my closet. And Vinted makes it really easy to actually do something with the stuff that I'm not wearing. Vinted is a secondhand marketplace app where you can sell your clothes you no longer wear and make some extra money while giving those pieces a second life. And the thing I really like about Vinted is how simple to selling process is because it could be a headache. A lot of those other sites are very, very stressful,
Starting point is 00:27:49 but all you have to do is list your item. And when it sells, Vinted creates the prepaid shipping label for you. So you don't have to do all that stuff yourself. Plus, there's no seller fees. So you keep everything you earn. And the Vinted app is free to download, which makes it really easy to just start listing some of those pieces that you have sitting in your closet day after day. Honestly, it's a great feeling to clear out some of that space, get some extra money along the way, and then you use that money toward refreshing your wardrobe. Maybe with some pieces that you'll actually wear this time around. Ready to clean out your closet and make some extra money, download the Vinted app for free

Starting point is 00:32:18 I really want to call out, is Kendall being there. And we talk to Kendall a lot in this episode and way more, way more of the same that I'm just currently absolutely loving. Every time she's talking about me, I'm like,
Starting point is 00:32:31 we didn't plan on this happening. We didn't plan on this happening. I just like a little of the boobo. I was sort of put it in my pocket. I was like, oh, fuck me. Oh, yeah. And the whole reason why I came, up here was because I need to like understand the the feng shui of the group it's like no the whole
Starting point is 00:32:48 reason you came up here was to still be close to leum we we know what you're doing it's okay it's no longer sad it's just incredibly funny at this point but i think when it comes down to like that last scene where charlie's in there just going off about liam like i don't fucking care what he has to say he's getting all tough guy puff it out his little chest and kendall's like does he not realize i'm right here he doesn't know who you are dude no he has no idea who you are like we're going to get a scene, I'm sure, next week in a confessional where Kendall probably brings it up to Liam and then Liam's talking about it and he's like, yeah, Kendall was in the back seat. Charlie's going to look him dead in the face and say, who the fuck is Kendall?
Starting point is 00:33:23 He has no idea who she is. He doesn't even know she's there. So that's really funny. But yeah, it's the way he puts it on and the way he kind of drums it up, like it all starts with him having a charger for a Jewel and Ava saying, I didn't know that you even spoke to Jewel. I don't. This is Arianas.
Starting point is 00:33:42 She left it at my apartment. Why was Ariana at your apartment? Oh, late-night, honey, booty called. Duh. The jewel. Uh-huh. Yeah, he knows what he's doing. So he sets that up and he knows what's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:33:52 We're going to get to the house. We're going to have a powwow with the other girls that weren't in the car that are friends with Ariana. They're going to start spiraling because they're going to disagree. It's going to get loud. Ariana is going to have to get brought into it. But let me drop in real quick just to dismiss it all and say, I was kidding. But the information and the facts of the matter are that, yes, she did come to my apartment at 1 a.m. Do with that what you will.
Starting point is 00:34:13 And think about that how you will. Cool. I'm out of here. Ariana, your turn. Go in. Why is everybody being weird? Why is everybody being fucking weird? Gia is having a crisis of conscience over there,
Starting point is 00:34:24 not sure whether or not she tells Ariana then and there or in front of everybody else or takes her aside. It's all just Charlie letting, laying things out. And it seems so easy to them to just put these out there. And it's probably a good 50-50. Like, yes, does he want to hook up with Ariana? A thousand percent. But he also just wants to cause chaos and he enjoys that because he gets to walk away. They all argue about it.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Then he gets brought in later and he can just dismiss it. Exactly. And I think the as you watch everything kind of play out exactly, not exactly how he wanted, but it's definitely going the direction that he wanted. The one thing like, you know, at dinner when Charlie's going off and being flat out disrespectful, like that's the funny thing to watch with this group is like some people think he's justified I didn't say. Like,
Starting point is 00:35:12 nobody's going to stop me from fucking her if I want to. It's like, ah, the disrespectful part, guys is that he's talking about Ariana like that at the table in front of everybody. And nobody's checking him. Liam, Liam's too nice of a guy to handle a dude like Charlie.
Starting point is 00:35:27 Because he's still trying to be like honorable and respect. Like, hey man, like I'm just saying, like lay off. You got to stand off and cause a scene. You got to stand up and shut the fuck up, get in his face.
Starting point is 00:35:36 Or he's going to keep doing it. Like that, that's the type of person he is. And Liam is just simply. too nice and too gentle to shut him down. Because Charlie, I do believe this. If you check Charlie, I think he will have a mutual respect and be like, okay, I'm going to step back. But if you're a pussyfoot around it like that, he's going to go, oh, you're a bitch.
Starting point is 00:35:58 And he's going to push harder. And that's exactly what he did. Yes. Now, the whole situation is not on Liam and it's not on Charlie. It is on Ariana. she is just enjoying her life. Is it messy? Yeah, probably.
Starting point is 00:36:15 Does she know it's messy? Yeah, probably. But she's not doing a whole lot. And that little indication where they're talking and Liam's like, well, I'll let you answer the exclusivity question because we, I thought we had this conversation the other night. And Ariana immediately denies it and then looks at a mirror across the way. And a mirror is just trying to get Ariana to step in like, hey, you got to fucking say something. And she goes, we're not boyfriend and girlfriends. We're just dating.
Starting point is 00:36:41 Like, what are you talking about here? And Mira's like, what the fuck is going on? They're arguing about you and you're just sitting there not saying anything. So it does kind of come back to Ariana. And look, we both said she was in a long-term relationship. She wants to dick around. She wants to dick around. Go for it.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Have some fun. But you're doing it in front of everybody. And now the two guys who, Charlie's, yeah, loosely interested in you. I don't think it's obviously dating material, but he wants to hook up with you. And you've got a guy who loves you. you like beyond belief. We've heard it multiple times. He would propose to you tomorrow and all this shit and he hasn't denied it.
Starting point is 00:37:14 You're going to have to step in at some point or at least have that conversation with Liam. Like, hey, dude, like we've been dating on and off for a couple of weeks now. It's not that serious. Let's all like take a step back and relax. Liam, he just ended up on the Hudson side of the street. And it's very funny to me. He's laying out boundaries and ground rules with Charlie about a girl that he's dating, not boyfriend, girlfriend, not exclusive.
Starting point is 00:37:37 Just, hey, why don't you wait and see what happens here? I'm dating her. We've got to figure these things out, all right? Here's my boundaries. Here's my line in the sand. It's like, oh, dude, you're starting to sound like Hudson. Hudson broke up with her. Sort of.
Starting point is 00:37:49 Or she broke up with Hudson and he's laying out boundaries. You guys are dating, preliminary dating, and you're laying out boundaries. It's a bad look for Liam. And I don't think he realizes that he's doing it. I think he's just acting on emotions. It's funny that you see it that way. I don't see, like, I think it's perfectly fine. dude at the table saying if he wants to fuck her, I'm going to fuck her.
Starting point is 00:38:09 I think it's totally fine to say, whoa. I think Amira says it best where it's like, look, as a friend group, like we do have to respect whatever this is and see what it turns into. That's the best way to look at it. It's like, no, we don't need to draw firm lines in the sand. But at the same time, we don't know what that conversation with Ariana and Liam was like. It could very easily have been her being like, no, I don't want anybody else. We see her at dinner with her with her girlfriends.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Like, I don't want the next bitch to have them. Like she's all in and then she's hanging around Charlie. Then she's having fun and she's like, well, I don't want to lock down just yet. I was just in a long term relationship, all fine. But her responses when pressed at the table, I was like, oh, man, you need to have a different conversation with Liam because you're not showing up for him at all. No, that was Liam's fault. but like the fact that she doesn't nothing she said was in support of Liam at that table.
Starting point is 00:39:08 That's when I was like, nah, yeah, at the very least be like, look, we're seeing where it goes. Like it's not exclusive. I don't know what's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:39:15 If she says that, if she says, look, Charlie, we're friends. I hate you up to smoke a joint. I came over with my friends. There was nothing to fair.
Starting point is 00:39:21 There's nothing sexual about that. Cool. I'm seeing what happens here with Liam and we'll move forward. Now, the other possibility here is she may have gotten the ick, right? at the table while Liam was defending her or defending the relationship or whatever it was. And I think the waters just got incredibly muddy, obviously, with Charlie talking the way that he did.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Because up until the point where he said, I'm going to fuck her if I want to fuck her, everything else was kind of fine. Like, yeah, it's not really up to me. It's up to, it's up to Ariana, whatever she's going to do. I don't really know Liam, whatever. Like you're okay. You still got me. You still got me. But then once you say, hey, if I want to fuck her, I'm going to fuck her, you lose it.
Starting point is 00:39:59 But it muddies the water so much that it's no longer a right and wrong. It should be focused on, hey, like maybe just don't talk about somebody in your friend group like that. Like, don't do that. That's objectifying. But at the same time, you're also saying, let's not slut shame her, which I know what you mean. But it does pile on to the fact that you're objectifying her again. So that's a brutal look. But up until that point, it's like, yeah, it's kind of valid.
Starting point is 00:40:23 And you guys should figure it out. And maybe you're having this discussion at the table. but there's a chance that Ariana while Liam's going balls to the wall against Charlie in the middle of all of this looked at him and was like, I don't really want to deal with any of this. This is why I don't want to date someone because I don't want to do this. And this is Hudson talking to Charlie last year. This is Hudson talking to anybody in the group last year.
Starting point is 00:40:44 This is exactly what I didn't want to do. So I'm just going to shut up and sit here. Yeah, I know. So I'm just going to sit here and not talk and just let this all happen. And unfortunately for Liam, it just completely got in his head. this is the one thing about the cast that I really, really like. And it was a little annoying in the beginning of the season because nobody would talk to
Starting point is 00:41:03 Charlie. They do get over shit and go have fun. Like when we get back to the house and we already talked about when they get in the car and Charlie's still spouting off and Kendall's in the car. When we get back to the house, everybody's just drinking, having a fucking great time. Half of them are up until 5.30, 6 o'clock in the morning.
Starting point is 00:41:20 And we'll talk about, you know, Ariana and Liam's conversation, which is just brutal. I love that we got the dramatization. This didn't actually, this is not real footage. This is just somebody we paid to get out of bed. Low key,
Starting point is 00:41:33 right act, is what it said. Like, those things are very funny. But I always commend the cast because they're able to do that. Like, yes, we just had it out or Georgia and Charlie just had it out, but they're able to have a civil conversation
Starting point is 00:41:46 and still get along to some extent. And it does confuse a lot of people. But we get back to the house. Like, if they got back to the house and they're like, all right, you over here, you over here. We're going to hang out in separate room.
Starting point is 00:41:55 we're not going to talk. And we just got like 10 to 15 minutes of each group talking shit on the other group. That would be annoying. Instead, you get the whole group coming back together, doing a secret Santa. Charlie gets row in a shirt that says, my mom's the hot one. That's funny. That's really fucking funny. You get a ball gag reference.
Starting point is 00:42:11 Like, they all just have a good time and go away. And the lone person who's not able to have a good time because he's in his head is Liam. And that's where he was always going to end up. And we saw the writing on the wall. And again, maybe it's not that obvious to somebody like Liam in the group because you're just so compelled to be around Ariana, you don't see what's happening in front of your face, but he's unable to just have a good time,
Starting point is 00:42:31 and that's where this all goes down. Yeah, he's in the media now, like, pretty understanding about the whole thing. I'll give him credit for that, too. He's like, look, I, like, looking at it now, like, she's going to have a 10-year relationship. I felt pretty hard. Just what the bet. He's being a very stand-up guy about the whole thing, but
Starting point is 00:42:47 I don't think the ick happened at the table. I think that was her probably just like, oh, God, I don't want to deal with any of this shit. I believe the ick happened and it's not even the I love you. I think that was just like the nail in the coffin. Yeah. Had they gone back
Starting point is 00:43:02 and Liam was unbothered, didn't make it a thing, didn't lean into it, just had a good time, didn't reference it, woke up and went skiing, they'd be exactly where they were before they left for this trip. But because he didn't have fun, because he drew attention to himself in a negative way, and because
Starting point is 00:43:21 he forced a conversation at five in the morning about what they are. and said, I love you. That was where he lost everything. But up until that point, had he left that dinner and just been like, if you're good, I'm good, let's go have fun. He would have been in a much different spot. But that is what Charlie did.
Starting point is 00:43:39 Charlie planted that seed and watered ever so slightly. And boom, you see what happens. And once again, you go to look at the Hudson thing. Another common denominator, it seems as though Charlie is manipulating a lot of situations. And maybe get away from a market. on it, but you don't want to because as everyone else says earlier, he's the bad guy. He's the dangerous. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:00 What's a bad boy? You're going to fuck him and you're going to walk out of the department and go, oh, God, what did I just? What did I just do? Yep. Because now, I mean, he's made so many references to the idea that they could have, but he's also said a million times. If I did, I wouldn't tell any of you, which I don't believe he would obviously tell a select few. and those few would be very, like, he would definitely choose the three people in that group that he knows will spill the beans or feel terrible about it and go tell somebody else. And then the whole group will know.
Starting point is 00:44:34 And all he'll say is it came up in conversation. I told her not to tell anybody. And it'll be like Gia or Ava who's just like sitting there like, I need to tell somebody I can't do this. Then it'll get to Riley and then Riley will tell Georgia and then the whole thing will just devolve them there. So I don't know how that's all going to work out, but it is just, it's incredibly funny. And it's, it's just also, you get little reprieves here and there. Like that is the main focus of the entire episode. But at the end of it, they're all actually hung over.
Starting point is 00:45:05 I mean, that's the one thing that I think is very funny when you go to Summerhouse. It's almost like they're never hung over anymore. Like you see them, they put their sunglasses on. They jump in the water. They go, like Kyle Cook goes for like a seven mile fucking run. I know Carl doesn't drink anymore. He goes to Barry's in the morning. like that's what happens in summer house here it's like shy still drunk from the night before and he's
Starting point is 00:45:23 trying to remember what happened he's like yeah i wanted to go downstairs to see if the hot tub was still warm and uh yeah from there i don't know and there's about four hours that are missing from my conscience right now i do not remember what happens funny there and then like it was the most relatable dude thing and i i think you probably picked up on it too shy getting up hungover probably still a little drunk charlie's probably yapping down there because i'm getting in the fucking shower, I don't fucking care about you. Shut up. And he just like giggles and Charlie's giggling and then they get up.
Starting point is 00:45:53 Like that's what happens when you force two dudes who drink to stay in the same room and wake up the next morning. It's like, I don't want to hear your voice. Leave me to fuck alone. At least until I get a shower and then I'm going to go have a mimosa and then I'll feel a little bit better. And then we can talk at that point. It's just fun.
Starting point is 00:46:07 Like I love that we get to like split away from the group and they're still talking about what's going on with Liam and Ariana. But we go back over here. It's like, hey, we're hungover as balls. We had the time of our life last night. Now we have to go skiing. exactly i've been that exact scenario and you get to the mountain like how am i going to do this hit a few runs have a beer life is good you're good but yep but yeah dude it it was
Starting point is 00:46:30 charlie put on a masterclass so yep tip of the cap to the villain of this show rightfully so like i said don't think he's a good dude i kind of hate him but i totally understand what he does to this show and i get it like i think he's a top notch reality TV star. I think he's going to be on our screens for a while unless, you know, there's something going out with crypto. Well, that. I'm more mentioned. I don't, I really don't think
Starting point is 00:46:58 there's, I think there's, I think he has like very, very, very low involvement. And even that's what I think too. I just don't think he becomes out. I don't know. The hubris of it all. That's all. But I, we'll see. But yeah, he's great. But let's get to some questions. And here's a good indicator that people
Starting point is 00:47:16 are finally catching on. We're getting more and more questions every week. Ah, yeah. From Jamie Gibbs, would you rather wear Brooks masks resort wear or anything from Shysline? Shysline for sure.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Shysline looks fucking awesome. Yeah, he's got some style. Jennifer, M to him. Why isn't this is a great question. I don't know. I think she's so caught up in like the back and forth of it all.
Starting point is 00:47:38 Why isn't Ariana offended by the way Charlie objectifies her say he can fuck her as if she has no saying it? I have the same thought. Yeah, that's the thought. Yeah, that's the thought. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:46 Like, I look around the table and like, guys. no one has an issue with how your issue is more with the idea that like she's single and he could technically fuck her it's like you're agreeing with yeah but like the statement being said is insane everyone's like yeah I mean I guess technically could
Starting point is 00:48:05 what the fuck's going on it's very strange I don't know why I think it she kind of likes it I think she likes the back and forth yeah uh from Kai KC 84 do kids still have to buy weed from their shady friends can't they just go to the dispensers State to state. State to state, but I do think, and this is just me saying this, I think it is character development that you should have to get weed from your shady friends. It does set up something in your life as you move forward.
Starting point is 00:48:32 So I even consider you're not a certain person for the rest of your life because we all used to buy weed from that guy. You know. Correct. Yep. I know exactly. He flips houses now. I know. I know he's doing really well, I think.
Starting point is 00:48:44 I know. Oh, God. Oh, shit. from Shoshi Davis Charlie was really bringing out his inner Rony housewife with the rooms and I love it. Yes, we should see more things like that. Again, that's why I'm saying
Starting point is 00:48:58 I think he does and would prefer to have his own bedroom, but he also knows it's going to rub people the wrong way if he's just a dick about it. So it works. It's good stuff. Illumiana says or asks, okay, but is Charlie and Ariana thing, there is smoke, but is there fire? I actually, the more
Starting point is 00:49:14 I'm seeing, the only way there would be fire is a direct result of Liam saying, I love you and like totally pushing her in that direction and like Charlie catching her on a night where she's like, oh, I'm so sick of everything. He's like, let's go get fucked up and boom, one thing happens. One thing leads to another. I'm other than that, I really don't get a vibe that they bang. I wouldn't be surprised if they do by any means, but like I'm not picking up that vibe honestly. I just think it's going to depend on the, and I could see why. Like I'm not saying it's out of the realm of possibility by any means, but like
Starting point is 00:49:48 as of right now, I think next week's going to be very eye opening. I think next week is going to be the one where I'm like, oh, yeah, they did or didn't. Yeah, for sure. From M.K. Colkey, Liam is jealous about how Charlie can make her laugh. Yeah, totally, without a doubt. Probably. Yeah. Yeah, probably.
Starting point is 00:50:07 I think there's a lot more that goes into it. Look, Charlie, I'm sorry, Liam fell head over heels. He is, he has blinders on to everything else. His eyes are now opened to whatever. everybody else has been seeing with Charlie and Ariana and he is scared. And Charlie's just swimming in his head. Charlie is swimming laps in his head. He's doing exactly what he wanted to do.
Starting point is 00:50:28 Liam's falling right into it because like I said, he's too nice to handle a dude like Charlie. Like it's just simply that, that straightforward. Mm-hmm. And then we'll just end on this one from Just Call Me B. I love that Charlie gives zero fucks. He's the villain this show needs.
Starting point is 00:50:43 He is. He is. He is very good at it. And I'm glad that we got through that. little journey that we had to go through where no one was talking to Charlie to where everybody's talking to Charlie. You have to allow him in, I have to allow. I'm okay if like episode to episode if one or two people are just over Charlie, fine.
Starting point is 00:51:00 But as long as the group as a whole allows him in the show will be a lot better. Well, I mean, straight up, like this is his show. Like, yeah, this is, we watch the show for what Charlie's going to do, right? Like, they have a lot of great cast members. I love Ariana. I like Ava a lot. I love everybody on this cast, but we tune in to see what Charlie's going to do.
Starting point is 00:51:26 And that's what you want. That's a perfect villain. And I think why this show is going to go the same direction as like a Soho. I think by season three, people are going to finally key in on next gen and like, oh shit, this is a great show because it is. And you're going to go back and watch and be like, it's always been a great show.
Starting point is 00:51:42 You're just late to the uptake. Listen to us. We tell you guys all the time. We are batting a thousand. when it comes to show wrecks. Watch this one. It's going to blow up. Starting point is 00:52:53 it's usually to roast the short hairs off of some loser, murderer, or scammer. You'll laugh, but only at the people who deserve it. Like, which serial killer would you most like to shove into a locker? B.T.K. in his awful poetry. Dude got caught because he didn't understand what a floppy disc was. We look for the stranger than fiction stories, like the case of Patty James, a killer catfish before the internet was even a thing. Or Howard Walmsley, a sent to wad of damp laundry who convinced his town he'd won the lottery, fleeced local businesses out of thousands, and then became a romance scammer. We've covered tons of cases you've never heard of, cults, scammers, killers. So come find your next great binge. Listen to True Crime Campfire
