Bros & Shows - Southern Charm Premiere Full Recap: Ayahuasca, Canes and the Carolina Cup (Part 1 of 2)
Episode Date: December 9, 2024What's up Bros? It is the Southern Charm premiere and we are so glad that this show is back. In part 1 of our recap, we get to catch up with everyone. It's the Carolina Cup so everyone is headed to wa...tch the race. Austen and Craig pack up and head out early to go to Shep's family farm for the night. It's been awkward since the reunion and BravoCon when the three of them had a falling out. Austen and Craig felt like it was necessary to create some firm boundaries while Shep still feels abandoned in his time of need. JT and Venita have apparently gotten closer in the off season. It looks like after JT was shot down by Taylor, he and Venita connected on the beach. We'd heard rumors of a potential relationship starting between these two and it appears like this may be setting up the ground work for that... JT had an ATV accident while in Costa Rica and now is getting around with a cane, and continues to speak on Austen and his behavior. We do not know why he cares so much but we do have theories. Shep claims to have undergone a spiritual awakening while also in Costa Rica, and credits ayahuasca for his transformation. Time will tell. We're introduced to newcomer, Molly, who seems like she'll make a good addition to the group and while she has some virtual history with Craig, its Whitney who she has her eyes set on. The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is an eight-episode Hulu Original Limited series that blends gripping pacing with emotional complexity, offering a dramatized look as it revisits the wrongful conviction of Amanda Knox for the tragic murder of Meredith Kircher and the relentless media storm that followed.
The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is now streaming only on Disney Plus.
There's a drive in a deep left field by Castellanos.
Oh, man, it's 8 o'clock.
And so that'll make it a...
I don't need the spotlight.
I shine just fine.
Hi, I'm Karma.
And yes, I am a bitch.
Brov Bros.
Good evening, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of Brav Bros,
a.k.a. Bros. and shows.
I am your co-host, St. Russell, joined as always, by the one of the one of the one of the...
and only the incorrigible
Mr. Magoutz.
What's up, dude?
That's a good intro for me. We got a lot
of J.T. in this episode, because we're
here to talk about fucking Southern
Charm, and boy, am I
happy. It's back. Me too. And I'm glad
we got the screeners. We got to watch this one
a day early. I'm actually,
I guess that you're listening
to this the night of.
So right now, I'm in New York City
at the Premier Party. What's up, everybody?
You'll probably be seeing some
picks on Instagram if you follow us.
I'll be posting some stuff.
But yeah.
Will you have a cane?
I can't put into words how much I don't like that man.
Yeah.
And how I can't believe that after an entire year, he came back and his first episode was
worse than any of his older, like, this is the worst TJ I've ever seen, J.T.
You don't have to call him J.T.
You can call him whenever the hell you want.
He is Justin Thomas Taylor.
It's just funny to me because if you, if you're an OG listener, we did Southern Charm during our first season of Brobros.
And I had to explain to Steele how to watch this show.
And last year, when I was ranting and raving about how much I hated JT, Steele tried to turn that on me and say, no, no, no.
You just have to understand that he's a terrible person and just enjoy him.
He is so much different than watching somebody like Shep,
watching Austin,
watching Craig in Craig's heyday a couple of years ago.
He's just,
he's a pest.
He's a fucking nerd and he's a little weasel and he's a psycho.
This guy's crazy.
This was bizarre.
I don't know if he's okay.
I don't know if I feel comfortable talking shit about him.
I do.
He was unwell.
Like that was not normal human being behavior.
What I just watched is,
crazy. He's a flea. That's what he is. Yeah, that's a good way. The show of Southern Charm is this
beautiful dog that everybody loves. It's a big gold retriever. It's a big old gold retriever. It's
kind of goofy and dumb and sometimes it's a little annoying, but we all love it. And JT is just a
flea on the back of that dog. Yeah. And we need to try to get that flea off. Now, he did already
come out before the show even started and said that this took such a toll on him and he's done. So
He left early. He left the recording early. He bailed out of the season. So I don't think I'm going to see him tomorrow night or tonight. I kind of hope I do. I know he knows who we are. He had our TikTok removed. So that would be hysterical if I walk in there and see, you know, I'd have to bend down and look around to find him. But like we're not usually this mean over and over again. Like we'll go after dudes. We like to go after the dudes. It's kind of our wheelhouse. And they deserve it. Every time we do.
do but we usually lay off after a while it's just this was crazy i felt like i was going crazy i'm
like what am i watching is this guy okay honestly but everyone else delightful it's it's lovely to have
the whole crew back um the dudes of southern charm they it's been interesting since my tenure into the show
because what this is my third season yeah so watching even the growth within the past three years
of these three and the growth apart and the journeys that they're going on has been pretty wild.
Like this whole group, I feel like I, had I come into the picture last year or even this year,
I think I would have been missing out a lot because I came in just in time to catch the end of the craziness to watch Madison starting to settle down.
And then last year we really, like, saw her come into her own with Brett, who we love.
That's a man.
That's a good dude.
That's a man right there.
he's a good dude yeah but i got to witness like the end of some of the heydays like craig as well
austin at his absolute peak i think and chef at his worst so like i got to know people
from the old show because you are seeing a transition now with a lot of the characters and it's
interesting because some of them successfully so you're seeing like i said craig obviously has made
huge strides madison's made huge strides but then you look across the other side like austin
has this recurring pattern
where he takes two steps forward, four steps back.
Shep has never really tried to take a step forward
until last year, BravoCon was his wake-up call,
so it's going to be interesting to watch this season.
Was there just a spider on you or something?
No, I just almost dropped something,
but then I caught it.
Nice catch.
Thank you.
Nice, nice hands.
Nice hands, breath.
But for those of you that have listened
over the past 36 hours,
this is our third episode
in five hours?
I don't know.
Yes.
I'm losing my mind.
I feel like T.J. right now.
This episode could be one of the best we've ever done or one of the worst.
So buckle up, everybody.
It's going to be interesting.
That's for sure.
Although I do feel like we had a good, we had a sizable break in between Beverly Hills
and this.
And I ate some dinner.
I packed a little bit.
So I feel pretty good.
Did I?
Did you?
Yeah.
Because my sweet little baby girl got her vaccines today.
oh no he's a little rambunctious i feel i feel so bad for but she's just sleepy now
yeah and just i you know you can't do anything about them because they like she's just this
little tiny nugget and she doesn't feel well and all she can do is cry and i feel so bad
but she's snoozing right now knock on wood i hopefully she just knocks out for a while
wakes up feeling a little bit better but i'm glad you got to rest and recover i'm glad i got to
spend time with my little baby uh and look i'm geared up for the this is the perfect show to do
at a time like this because it's easy to watch we both love it great it's like uh it's similar to
when we watched the first episode of uh beverly hills just in there's something comforting it's
yeah there's yeah yeah there's like a sense of calmness comes over me where i just enjoy watching
and it's not like i mean it's don't say i don't i don't even yep i'm not even going to put
I'm not even going to say it. I'm not even going to say it. I'm not even going to say it. Don't yell it. Don't yell at me. Don't know the voice to me. I didn't. I didn't get louder. Okay. Fine. Can you take me higher? Just get to the fucking episode.
No creed. This is a no creed zone. I don't know if I want to be part of this. We're going to spiral. Yeah, it's too late. We're too far gone. But let us.
dive in to the Charming South in Southern Charm.
But we kick it off with our bros, Austin and Craig.
They're headed out on a road trip.
We find out they're headed to Shep's family farm in Boykin, South Carolina.
But before we get there, I can't believe, and I'm kind of astounded that we started the season off this way.
We've heard inklings, right?
We've seen, we've seen rumors, we've seen posts that Vanita and,
jt got a little bit closer and potentially started dating i don't know if we're going to get there
we're not there yet but they definitely reconnected or connected at some point and we see him limping
into a store with a cane i'm like what the hell happened and as he starts to tell a story i'm like
okay that's kind of scary he's on an at tv costa rica hits a dirt patch spins out of control
goes into the jungle
and then sees the ATV
just careening off the cliff after him,
lands on him.
And he's laying in the jungle and he's panicked.
He doesn't know if he's going to die,
lose a leg.
In my head,
I'm like,
I don't want to make fun of this
because this sounds pretty serious
until they showed the bruise.
Yep.
What,
what,
he does he need the cane?
I'm sorry.
I don't want to be insensitive.
I mean,
and it looks like he's in clean
and I don't want to make light of it.
Maybe it's a bone bruise.
maybe but it could also be I don't know I don't know it's probably to be nice maybe maybe
fucked up his ankle too and that's the main thing and they didn't show that and they just showed
it looks like you know you ever get like I'm sure you have you hit with like a fastball on the
inside of your leg and it's got a bruise there that's what yeah yeah that's happened to me
before yeah yeah well yeah they're catching too you get a little foul ball pop up down there yeah
something like that that's what it looks like to me not a fucking two
thousand pound ATV coming down a cliff at you and again don't want to minimize I don't want to
minimize it but do you need to be overly mean do you need a kid or you try to get this
bro it wouldn't be that's what out that's immediately where my head went it's like how much is this
a sympathy cane how much is this is a necessary cane and it would have been easier to lay off
if the episode didn't go the way that it went but watching you know what I can answer it right
now he doesn't need the cane just limp around dude just just limp around it doesn't look like
It's like load bearing.
You're not like leaning on it too hard.
This leg isn't load bearing that I have to disagree with you on.
No, no, no.
The cane isn't load bearing.
He's not like leaning on it like heavily and like scraping through.
He's walking through fucking grass at the at the Carolina Cup later.
You know, that's whatever.
Yeah, I don't know.
I don't know.
But here's the thing I want to point out.
So him and Vanita get together in Jamaica.
As we know from that Jamaica trip,
the only reason that he connected with Vanita is because he got shot down by Taylor.
He confessed his love to one girl
And then immediately goes over to Vanita and finds comfort in her
We like Vanita
I've always liked Vanita
I don't either she's smarter than this
Just yeah I had a thought that like
I don't know
Look this is probably because I like Vanita
And I'm gonna try to ward her against this
But did she just kind of like think maybe this could be like a storyline for me
Because there's a lot of people that are saying that I don't do enough and I don't
enough screen time and because we've heard it before that she does a lot and there's a lot of
scenes that she's in but it ends up getting cut and then we only see some of it and we're
like all right benita like you got to step it up and do something because we do like you when you do
stuff but half the time you're not doing much maybe i'll meet you halfway i'll meet you halfway
here and say that maybe help maybe she did go to try to mix it up with tj just to be friendly
with them to be in another scene or that's gonna fucking drive me nuts j t j t j t j t j t
maybe she did that like to just yeah beyond the show and maybe somewhere along the way they did
actually connect and they are actually friends and there is something here i just it was surprising to
me because again vanita is she's very smart and we love vanita so this is going to be really
interesting to watch how this whole thing kind of came together where it's going and how she puts
up with it because in episode one you get a confessional from her at the end where she's like i wish
jt would have just like asked me and listen to me he normally does i'm like what is the dynamic
this friendship because I'm intrigued
now and it doesn't make a lot of sense to me
but hopefully with time it will
maybe perhaps
I don't think so
I don't think it's ever going to make any sense
to me like a beautiful woman shacking up
with a
medium sized bag of dicks
just doesn't make any sense to me

I hope I see him tomorrow night.
But let's keep truck.
And we get to Austin and Craig.
They're on their way and we learn about Austin's girlfriend.
We've heard about Audrey is her name.
I think we met her at pillows and beer, right?
Yeah.
So I believe they're still together.
At this point, they've dated for three months, according to Austin.
Is that right?
No, I don't know.
Timeline.
What month is it right now?
We saw them in January.
I'm talking about the show.
In the show, they've been dating for three months.
They, no, they didn't start,
they must have been like six or seven months
because they didn't start filming until spring.
They started filming in April.
I don't know where I got, okay, whatever.
Yeah.
We'll figure out the timeline at some point,
but it's shocking to hear that he was the one
that took the step forward to make her,
his girlfriend, growth, perhaps.
He's growing up a little bit,
or at least attempting to do so.
We get some news that could potentially challenge that later.
but always think about the source and who's talking about it.
So until we get some actual real information there,
we will not speculate.
It's just important to know it once again,
potentially moving forward for Austin,
which he needs to grow up a little bit.
We tend to root for him.
I think a lot of people end up rooting for him.
Like he kind of pisses you off and pulls you back in.
We want him to grow up and we want him to be okay.
We want him to do better.
And this could be the year.
What do you think?
He's a nice guy, but he's just a fuck boy.
That's the problem.
That's it.
That's really it.
He can drop a little bit of that.
He's great.
He's a guy's guy.
Yeah.
You know, and we need him to be a guy.
Yeah, come on, guy.
You know what I mean?
Just be a guy.
Come on.
But we check in with Shep at the family farm.
Like I said, in Boykin, we get a whole, that's what I like about Shep.
When we learn something about him or real estate or a cast trip to somewhere in South Carolina, you get the background.
Him and Whitney do the same thing.
Well, this was built in 17.
He doesn't do it nearly as pretentious as Whitney does it.
No, Whitney his nose is up.
Oh, fuck, dude.
He had said like three things in this episode and every single one.
I'm like, oh, no.
I can guess the first one.
Just say it.
Ensemble?
God, I wanted to fucking rip my hair out.
I fucking, I knew that would get you.
That's so, man, that pissed me off so much.
No, I know.
I figured it would.
But we, uh, last we saw a show was BravoCon and then the reunion.
And obviously we had heard rumors about BravoCon that he was an absolute shit show there.
You get confirmation of that at the reunion to the point where he had ruined some friendships with Austin, with Craig, two of his closest friends and confidants.
And he says that he went, he didn't, this is all the rage now, went to Costa Rica, did an Ayahuasca, was he in Puerto Rico?
Is he in Puerto Rico?
No, he went to Costa Rica.
No, was he with T.J.
J.T. Fuck.
You can't do it?
No, I don't.
They're not, no.
Just separate incidents in Costa Rica.
Yeah.
Okay.
This isn't quite like he almost went full Aaron Rogers on this experience.
That's what it sounded like.
Yeah.
It's something in the darkness.
The darkness part was missing.
That's insane.
I kind of want to try that.
You're not in,
you're not somewhat curious.
No.
Really?
No.
Not a little bit.
No part of he's like what's that like?
I don't trust.
Yeah.
No, no.
I'm not.
This is not a pro Aaron Rogers podcast.
I'm just saying that's an interesting premise to get locked in a completely blacked out cabin for
three days.
on hallucinogenics.
Sounds awful.
That's pretty, yeah, I don't know.
I don't know.
I would die.
I would die.
I wouldn't do it.
I'm just saying the idea itself is intriguing.
Sure.
Okay, whatever, dude.
But the whole point of this ayahuasca trip is he's doing some self-examination.
He's trying to be better than whoever he was at BravoCon.
And he wants to make some changes in his life.
He recognized after that whole.
thing that it was time to make some changes my whole thing and i will give him credit he says
jim four to five times a week less booze he looks better physically he looks better so there is something
to be said about that and i said it last year and i've never been a big chef fan i think there's
five or six tic talks on our page of me ripping into him but i will always root for people wanting
to make changes especially with things like that mental health substances whatever it might be
I want him to be better.
I want him to do better.
The way that he describes it and how he talks to Craig and how he talks to Austin about it,
it doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence.
Yeah.
Because of the way that it's framed for him, like how he views this whole thing.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, like the way that he was talking to his uncle when he got there,
it was me having faith in it, was me.
Yes.
And like, I'm still taking it with a great assault,
but I had the same thing that you did where I looked at him and understood that he looked
a lot better.
He does physically look a lot better.
He looks like he's got more energy.
He looks like he's not because he looked fucking hung over every single time that we saw
him last year or strong out.
He just looked strong out and he looks healthier.
So that's great.
So that's why I'm like, okay, I'm inclined to believe you.
At least you're doing something.
You're making minor changes.
Whatever you're doing, you look better than you did last year.
So I'll give you that.
And yeah, when he was sitting down with Austin and Craig, it's, it just goes right back.
to the same chef and there's something to be said about that though when you're trying to make
changes and then you go back to the people that you were with before you made the changes and he
hadn't seen them really much at all apparently since the reunion and they just kind of like
you know very surface level is what we understand see he almost went like right back into it
his personality came right back he's talking really fast he's got a lot of excuses and then right
then and there it's like okay like have you actually changed that are you taking the time to do
this or is this just you kind of like word vomiting everything out and and just trying to get it
all out there i don't know but time will tell for sure yeah and i think a big part of it for me is
the placing blame right is i reached out to you and i get it you know it's got to be difficult
if you're reaching out and you don't receive the help that you want but placing blame is not the
correct way to go about it and i'll save it from we get to that scene because i want to talk about that
a lot more but you even see the scene with like craig and shepherd the gym was the most awkward
shit out, sup, sup, sup, sup, sup, sup. They literally just had a full conversation of
sup. So, like, it's awkward. Sometimes that's a good thing. Sometimes that is just dudes at the gym.
Totally. But it's only a couple sups. Sup, sup, sup, see ya. Not eight sups. Yeah. When it's past
four sups, that's too many sups. Something's wrong. Yeah. You got it. Supplements. Okay, you're not,
no but we get to uh check in with madison who again last year became one of my favorites
climbed the ranks i mean i was not a madison fan until last year and i just think that
her relationship with bret watching brett and her with her son i think is incredible like
that fight scene last year he comes in all scraped up or whatever i don't know there's just something
nice about this little family that they have and it makes me happy and it's nice to see people
actually grow and it does be like a real growth moment so we get to check in with her they're
getting getting ready for the carolina cup and they went shopping and we meet molly now molly is a
model molly has been around charleston she wasn't on southern hospitality was no that's sally
we haven't been here yet we haven't met sally yet okay no so molly's friends with madison
she had previously had a sexting relationship or not a relationship she had sexted with craig
They're sending naughty videos back and forth with one another.
She makes a joke about not wanting to steal him from Paige.
But I figured, and we get confirmation later from Craig,
I imagine this is a non-issue for Paige.
I didn't think that she would have any problem with this.
Of course, she doesn't because her Craig are solid.
So not concerned about that.
But it is interesting.
Who she has her site set on.
And I'm here for this.
I'm glad we have somebody that's like, you know what?
He's got a lot of fucking money.
yeah that's really all it is the rest of it is complete and utter bullshit she's not like actually
attracted to the guy is she i can't imagine not whitney no there's no way no there's just no way
it's not and i here's the thing if she's he hangs out with his mom all the time like no he's his
mom's butler don't get me wrong i'll respect to miss pat yeah no no and also rip michael
rip michael made a mean mean martini that man did yeah rip
he will be missed but
I get it also
and like if she just flat
I was like yeah
I want to get it on that family I think
go for it if I was
super hot and I would
probably do it too so I get it
don't convince me that he's good looking
don't like no because you won't
don't do a whole thing where
you know they're all walking together
and you look over and say wow he's hot
like just don't do great
no it doesn't make any sense
like if he's playing the guitar don't be like
wow he looks really sexy
and it does that because when Whitney plays the guitar
the face he makes looks like he has to take a shit.
Yeah.
That's all it is.
The rendition, the Jimmy Hendricks Star Spangled Banner
lives rent free in my head when he played it in the rain at that.
What was that?
A dog wedding?
That was a dog wedding.
Right.
Right, right, right.
And I was here comes the bride, not Star Spangled Banner.
But he did it in like the thrash guitar, but.

Let's get back on task here.
I like Molly out of the gate.
I think she's going to be a good addition to this crew.
She's a little bit more of a wild card.
She does not seem to give a shit what people think.
I love that about her.
I think it's insane.
Like her whole career path and where she's gotten to
and the fact that she got shunned for gaining 45 pounds because of a thyroid problem.
She still looks fantastic.
So I don't understand that.
That's sad to hear.
But I think she's going to be a good addition to this crew.
I think you need somebody like this on the women's,
side of things to be that wild card to be to kind of counter because you got the dudes that
you got the austins you got the sheps you need somebody that can go toe to toe with them that
single that can put them in their place and i feel like she might be the person to do that austin's not
single that's a good point but you know what i mean yeah i know i know i get it um two things for molly
uh one do not push the craig and i sexted thing all season i don't want to hear it yeah i mean neither
It's a funny one off.
We already know how Paige feels about it.
Craig already are a confessional.
It's a non-issue.
Let's move forward.
Don't make a big deal.
Two, do not make your storyline this whole time being jealous about Whitney,
whatever Whitney's up to, thinking that you have a chance of them,
trying to get into a relationship with them.
I don't want to say it.
Just stand alone.
Have some fun.
That's what the show is all about.
That's what it should be.
Have a little bit of fun.
But otherwise, I like her.
I think she's good.
I do too.
I'm excited to see where she goes.
But we get back to Shep's Farm.
Austin and Craig show up
and this is another thing
that I do like about Shep
is he does not beat around the bush
if there's something to be discussed
and we watched it all last year
with the Taylor and Austin shit
if there's a conversation that needs to be had
he's going to have that conversation
immediately to get the awkwardness out of the way
because he hates awkwardness.
Yep.
So he instantly tells these guys,
look, let's do this
because I have a lot of anger and pain
towards you
and immediately I'm starting to go
Oh, fuck.
I don't know if this is going to be the right approach.
Yep.
Because he goes with, you know, post-Vagas.
Obviously, BravoCon was a mess and it was a disaster and I did a lot of soul searching.
And I reached out to you guys immediately after the fact.
And you both shut me down.
Neither have you responded.
You ignored me.
And that hurts so bad.
I was so upset.
So mad at you guys.
And he's like, you didn't show up for me.
I've always showed up for you guys and you have a problem, blah, blah, blah.
Now, I understand being hurt on Shep's part.
I get it.
Fine.
But you need to understand, especially if you just went on a healing journey,
just because you reach out to these guys,
they've seen you do this shit for a long time.
This is a recurring theme with you.
And they have grown.
Craig specifically, he has really grown up.
He's changed his lifestyle.
He's changed what he wants to do.
Change what he wants to be around.
Change who he wants to be around.
So he set boundaries.
Austin took a note from Craig,
because Austin's trying to grow up, and whether he wants to admit it or not, he looks up to
Craig in that regard.
I do believe that.
I think he sees Craig getting his shit together.
He wants to be like that.
So he took a page out of Craig's book.
All right, you cut them off.
I'm going to cut them off too.
It's not healthy for us.
And from, let's go, a substance abuse problem, I'm not saying that chef's an alcoholic because
it's not my place to say.
I will say when somebody's spiraling like that repeatedly, you are allowed to cut them off for
your own benefit with the hope that.
he'll get his shit together and come back.
What I thought and hoped was going to happen was chef was going to come to them,
be like, look, guys, I understand why you didn't get back to me when I reached out.
I needed to figure out a lot of shit.
I didn't do that.
I understand.
Instead, he goes to the pain and anger thing.
And their response to him is, dude, you came back to Charleston after BravoCon and
continued this spiral.
And he's like, yeah, because you guys didn't answer.
It's like, you can't do that.
You can't put a continued spiral.
on them because they weren't there
because they had been there before.
There is a limit to how long people are going to help you out
when you're an absolute shit show.
It's not their responsibility to take care of you.
Even if you are close friends at a certain point,
they have to look out for themselves.
I don't fault them for that.
Could it have been a conversation?
As Shep says, like we could have had a lunch.
It could have, but they don't owe you that at that point.
Yeah, no, for sure.
I mean, I don't care how much Ayn and Panger you have built up.
Yeah, you got that.
Ain and Panger.
It's been a long day
Maybe laugh
That's the name of this episode
A-N-Panger
A-N-Panger
You had a second A in the beginning
Because you're just dyslexic
But yeah
I think that what we got
From this scene was pretty interesting
Because you get to see all of their psyches
And like I said a little bit earlier
Shep went into this
Just word vomit
Just I'm gonna tell you guys
Everything that I've been thinking for months
And you can look at it
One of two ways
You can look at it like this is just Shep
and he's finally getting a chance to sit down with his boys who he feels like they've wronged him.
And he's going to give him a piece of his mind.
The other way to look at it is you guys have to sit here and talk to me.
You have to stay at my uncle's house because we're filming this show now.
And I've got you right where I want you.
And you're going to sit here and listen to me.
That's probably-
Carolina Cup and you can't leave.
You can't leave because we're filming it again.
That is more in line with what I think happened.
However, you also get to see, and I'm not saying which one is right or wrong,
the two between Austin and Craig, where Craig has that hard cutoff, which we talk about all the time, yes, you do not owe it to Shep to be there for him, especially if it's, if it's like the 17th or 18th time, as they said during the reunion, that he's done this and had a sit-down lunch and we all need to talk about my problems and how I'm going to figure it out, and then he just goes right back to doing the same shit. At some point, you do have to cut it off.
Austin, on the other hand, is recognizing that, or is recognizing that Craig is doing that. It also has his own thing where he can kind of see.
both sides, but he wants to be better and he definitely wants to be more like Craig because
he sees the Craig is succeeding, not only in business, but in relationships and friendships.
So he wants to be more like that, but he still has love for Shep.
So it's a very interesting little triangle going on here that I actually really like to see.
And I think that at the end of the day, they've spent so much time together, filming this show,
off camera, hanging out in a very small city.
They see each other all the time.
They know a lot of their families.
They're going to be able to figure something out, whether it's forced by the camera,
or just a forced sit-down that they're going to be able to figure out for themselves,
once Shep can get through that initial word vomit,
he finally does land on something that does make sense.
Hey, instead of ghosting me and just stopping,
you could have just told me point blank,
dude, you've done this 15 times.
We can't be there for you again.
You can't do this.
You have to figure it out for yourself.
At least if they did that,
then maybe I can use that to motivate myself.
They all seem to agree on that,
and I think that part makes the most sense.
They're able to at least get to that middle ground, if you will, that somehow works for all three of them, where they're all like, yeah, that kind of makes sense.
And then they can move on.
And that's the best part.
And this is something that we get.
Obviously, we do a lot of housewave shows.
When it's like three former fuckboys, idiots that have been together for 15 years, at the end of the day, this is what you actually can do.
And when they do something like that, it makes a lot of sense to me.
No, I agree.
And I think, do I see that point?
Yeah.
I get it.
they don't owe that to it they could have done that
that would have made it easier for shep but they didn't owe him that part of it
and i just i hope that this this chef healing journey that he's on
he takes more accountability of just putting it on himself don't put anything on others
and i'm not i'm not taking away from any work he's potentially already done
but even when they're sitting there like do we've heard stories like you're still out there
you're still doing things like it's not perfect i'm trying okay fine if you're trying great
but stop putting the emphasis on
you're struggling because of an outside source.
If you're going to get better, get better for yourself,
take care of yourself.
And if you need a beacon here, again, Craig,
be sober now, got a shit together, successful business.
Austin, the fact that Austin was even capable
of drawing a firm line in the sand and a boundary
is pretty massive, in my opinion,
for him to actually be able to hold on to that.
So I'm holding on to hope for Shep
because I want him to be better.
I want him to get better.
I'm not super confident that we're going to see a massive shift in his behavior.
But for the time being, I'm going to hold on to hope and hopefully he's able to take some more accountability on himself.
But we get dinner slash a fire scene.
You get Austin and Shep sitting by the fire and we're going over the ayahuasca trip a little bit.
And he says he had a vision.
And it had to do with Austin and his sister.
and I don't want to be insensitive here,
saying that I'm not entirely sure what the vision was.
I kind of forget because we watched a lot of TV today.
But he said he was so angry at Austin that he saw this vision of him and his sister.
And it opened his eyes to the trauma that Austin had gone through as a kid,
made him more sympathetic and empathetic,
allowed him to forgive him immediately.
Whether that was an actual trip or not,
it doesn't really matter because the underlying point is it,
It gets through to Austin. Austin...
