Bros & Shows - The Bachelor Full Recap: Shoot Your Shot (episode 2 full recap)

Episode Date: February 10, 2025

What's up Brose? We are back with Grant Ellis and The Bachelor. In this episode the ladies suit up and take the court. Its team yellow vs team purple with and MVP jacket on the line. Zoe causes the fi...rst rift in the group when she steals Grant away during a group date. That's just gameplay as far as we're concerned. Chloie wins the MVP and some one on one time. Alli Jo gets activated... Alexe gets her 1 on 1 date with Grant and I think we were all jealous of the mall date. They seem to have a genuine connection. Group date #2 is performance based where everyone makes a song. Carolina wins and solidifies her victory with a pretty intimate smooch on the couch in front of an audience and it did not sit well with the other ladies on the date. The drama is starting to heat up amongst the contestants as Grant tries to console some of them after group date #2. The rose ceremony eliminates one of Shooter's team members as we are really starting to get into the good stuff. This show rocks. Give your home the refresh it needs, head to Wayfair.com right now. The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is an eight-episode Hulu Original Limited series that blends gripping pacing with emotional complexity, offering a dramatized look as it revisits the wrongful conviction of Amanda Knox for the tragic murder of Meredith Kircher and the relentless media storm that followed. The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is now streaming only on Disney Plus. I don't want to spoil anything, okay, but it does feel good.
Starting point is 00:01:00 I feel good right now, and you know why I feel good right now. And I will get to the, we'll get to it shortly, but I don't want to spoil it in the intro because I think that would be rude, but I feel pretty good. Yeah, I guess there's some people, some people are out there just listening to us to find out who got eliminated instead of watching themselves. And I guess I'm okay with that. I am too, but I inevitably will get yelled at in the comments for spoiling something, because it happens without fail.
Starting point is 00:01:29 But we're trying. At least I didn't give it away in the first like 30 seconds. Bros and shows. I got to have me my pros and shows. Bros and shows. Brows and shows. I got to have me my bros and shows.
Starting point is 00:01:44 Good evening, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Bros and Shows. I am your co-host, Neil Russell. joined as always by the one and only Super Goots. What's up, dude? And that's not superhero. Oh, but super.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Hero. Yeah, no, I'm a superhero. You can't take that back. Nope. Nope. What would Super Goots' power be? That's a, that's a question. With great mustache comes great responsibility. I mean, obviously, it's a tagline. That's a given. But Super Magouter is actually better, I think. Yeah, Super Magutter flows a little bit better. My friends call me Super. My friends call me Super Goots. Yeah, I don't. Well, I just called you that, so I guess technically. You're my co-worker.
Starting point is 00:02:24 Oh, that, that's stung, didn't it? That's a lot of bad. Yeah, I didn't like it. No, did you, honestly, did it say it? I don't think you did. Yeah, I could tell. But back to the important question. What supergoots is superpower? He can gaslight anybody.
Starting point is 00:02:42 He can gaslight anybody and he can find himself out of awkward situations very easily. Yeah, there you go. That's super goods power. And make you feel uncomfortable. You know how like we start an episode and like you can probably feel it, Now I can tell when words are going to be tough. I think words are going to be tough for you today. Look, I've had a long day.
Starting point is 00:03:01 How could you tell already? What gave it away? We did an intro that was scrapped. And you said episodes. I did say episodes. But hey, we're firing all cylinders. We'll get through this. We'll get through this together.
Starting point is 00:03:14 But yeah, Scotty, Scottie got her four month shots today. So it's just been, it's been kind of a long day. But look, I'm locked in. I'm glad that this is the show we're covering while I'm in. while I'm in this headspace because this is our silly show. This is our fun show to do. We're here to talk, Little Bachelor. Yep.
Starting point is 00:03:30 I don't have a whole lot of background. You know, we just covered last season of The Bachelorette. I've done Bachelor in Paradise. I think I maybe have watched like one or two other seasons like throughout the years. So I don't have a whole lot to grade it against, but I really like this season. And I haven't read reviews from people, but I like this season. Have you read, have you gotten like the temperature? Uh, not really the temperature.
Starting point is 00:03:56 I mean, I haven't seen anything that's negative, which is a good sign. Yeah. I see a lot of people power ranking, which is usually a good sign as well. That's good. Um, but otherwise, no. I also haven't really seen rave reviews like, oh, my God, Grant's incredible or, you know, these girls are incredible. They're such great TV.
Starting point is 00:04:15 Anything like that. It just seems like people are watching and they're enjoying what they're seeing, but nothing over the top either way. What do you, what do you think? What's your take? I enjoy it a lot more than Jen Tran season. That's the only other one that we have a point of reference for. And obviously a Bachelor of Bachelorette season are going to be wildly different.
Starting point is 00:04:32 But I'm enjoying this a lot more than last year, I think. Yeah, it's more entertaining throughout the episode. I think there's more going on. And maybe that's like dudes trying to be stoic or something. I don't know. There's something to be said about that. I think Grant is a better Bachelor, Bachelorette than Jen was. You think he's a better contestant on this show?
Starting point is 00:04:53 Yeah. Yeah, I could see that. He's more interactive, I think. I don't know, but I like Jen Trent. I don't know. I like this season. That's the point of this whole thing. But why don't we get into this episode?
Starting point is 00:05:03 And you can tell that tensions are starting to rise, as they will. The further into this game that we get, the more the tensions rise. We've seen it a million times. You guys know how this whole thing goes. But Jay Palms comes into the room. Old Jesse Palmer just got off the golf course. So he comes to address everybody. And Rebecca is manifesting with the rose.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Can we spoil yet? Can I spoil? Nope. Can't spoil. Well, as we know, Alex is going on the first one-on-one date, but we have two other dates. So three total dates. We got one-on-one, and we got two group dates. I forgot about the setup of these shows already.
Starting point is 00:05:41 That's how bad my brain is. Yeah. So when he said this, I was like, oh, right, right, right. This is what we do. We go on the group dates. We have the one-on-one date. Then we have the rose ceremony. So I'm excited to get into the first group date, and I'm glad that we jumped in immediately.
Starting point is 00:05:53 So let me list off who we have here. We got Beverly, Serafina, Allie Joe, Natalie, Parisa, Vicki, Chloe, Zoe, Juliana, and Alicia, not Dina, who physically read the letter, which I kind of felt bad for her. But, I don't know, because when she read the letter, I wondered if they always do that, if it's always the person who's not reading the letter, or the person who's reading the letter doesn't go.
Starting point is 00:06:21 I don't know. I can't remember. I have no idea. Well, they're like, come on, Dina, read it. Yeah, and then she didn't go. Although, I will say between these two dates, obviously I would choose basketball over the other one. You might actually choose the singing and dancing. I would be comfortable with either, probably.
Starting point is 00:06:37 I'd have a good time at both. I will say this, and this is important because of what our first date is, because it's titled, time to shoot your shot. So obviously we all know we're going to shoot some hoops. I will admit this right now, especially because I'm going to analyze and be critical of some of the basketball that we saw played i am horrible that what we're calling it basketball well hold on let me just do this so i feel better about talking shit about some of the basketball that we saw i am really bad at basketball i was a professional athlete i can pick up 99% of sports and be
Starting point is 00:07:09 solid at them shooter can attest to my basketball ability or lack thereof i am remarkably bad okay just you're uh you're what we call like a bulldog in the paint like you are not a lot to shoot unless you have a wide open layup, and then we yell, use the glass, usually. Yeah, banks open for steel. Otherwise, you are going to accumulate fouls, and you're going to try to throw some bows and get some rebounds. That's what we want. Yeah, I'm the grit.
Starting point is 00:07:34 I'm the grit on the team. That's what I do. I throw elbows. You're hard working. I do not shoot. And I tried to tell this to my team when I played baseball, we were in Charleston, West Virginia. We went to the YMCA for our gym time, and they were playing a pickup basketball game. And it was four on five.
Starting point is 00:07:53 And they're like, steal, you got to play. I was like, I really don't want to play guys. Like, I really don't want to do this because you guys look at me as your colleague right now. And if you watch me play basketball, you'll think that I am not athletic. But finally, they convinced me to play. And I was doing exactly what you described, bulldog in the paint, throwing bows, pass, pass. I get the ball pass. So I'm on the outside for whatever reason.
Starting point is 00:08:17 I'm standing like at the top of the key. And somebody dishes me the ball. and I'm like looking for somebody to pass to and there's nobody and I'm wide the fuck open. It's one of those hoops that comes down from the ceiling so the pole and it's like a warehouse so it's a big ass pole
Starting point is 00:08:31 they're like shoot and I'm like fuck it I had like my air button you're holding your hands right now I just know you had your hands side by side I'm like oh god this is awful no no I know it's yeah it's relax so they're like shoot
Starting point is 00:08:48 and I literally in my head I'm like this is my time. It's my fucking moment. I got this and I fucking shoot and I hit the fucking pole that holds the rim. Like it didn't even hit the backboard. It hit the pole and nobody moved. They just all turned
Starting point is 00:09:04 and looked at me and I was like, this is why I didn't want to fucking play this fucking game. You proved your point. Yeah, I did but it was, it was tough. It was a tough day for me and I really thought that my time had come. I was like, yes. As soon as it left my head, I'm like, fuck, that's way too hard.
Starting point is 00:09:19 You're like Carlton and Fresh Prince? Yeah, yes, unfortunately. So, yeah, just know that if I'm critical of the basketball that we watched this episode, I am no better. Okay. Yeah. Okay. I'll be critical. I can do it.
Starting point is 00:09:33 It doesn't really serve to be critical, though. You know what I mean? They're out there having a good time. Let's talk about the fun moments. There were actually a couple of good plays that I will point out as we go through this. But you know what? I'm not in the business of putting people down. not me i can't keep a straight face who the fucking you then what are you talking about
Starting point is 00:09:56 not this guy that's that's that's magooter super magout's power right there is is shitting on people so you let's get to it all right we see grant shooting around he's dunking the ball that stuff all right let me let me shit on grant a little bit um he's a professional wasn't he i don't know what he was he played in college i think uh you you don't you don't play basketball on on clouds did you see he was wearing on clouds you know that has to be he's not a real hooper if he's playing it on clouds i would imagine that there's something there where he got those those on clouds i hope it was a deal for him well i think it's a brand deal let's say a brand deal yeah he got a brand deal i got to see what he actually plays in because that's that's not a hooper move what's your hooper shoe
Starting point is 00:10:40 there big guy uh nikey's always always yeah i only wear converse chuck taylor's Yeah, real good arch support in those bad boys. That's what they're invented for was to play basketball. I don't know how people were playing basketball on those. That's why everyone from that era that played basketball can't walk anymore. Their knees are shot the hell. The same foot condition that J.L.M.B. does. Oh, don't start.
Starting point is 00:11:06 Don't. I may not be good at basketball, but I watch and shut up. I don't talk about it. Let's meet the coaches. That's fun. That's fun. Yeah, we get Atticus and Jerry. Journey, they're the kids, they're the coaches.
Starting point is 00:11:19 They want to win, by the way. They were taking that shit really seriously during the game. Especially Journey. Journey was going off on the team. She was pissed at her. Well, yeah, they sucked. She was really upset by the lack of effort that was going on on the floor. Yeah, but I thought it was a great move.
Starting point is 00:11:36 We'd like to comment on the gameplay more than anything amongst the Bachelor contestants. And it's a great move by Parisa to go up to Grant and be like, hey, I need a little bit of help. I don't know what I'm doing here. You want to help me? Show me some defense. And she backs up into him. I'm like, this is good.
Starting point is 00:11:50 This is good gameplay. And I was curious because we're getting into it now. Who's going to start making moves? Obviously from the Bachelorette, the first most noticeable move is who's going to steal him first? That's what I'm on the lookout for because we watch that happen with Devin on the Bachelorette. So I'm wondering who's going to take that time to get him out of this gym full of ladies. So they go to a Dunditon test and children. Yeah, the children.
Starting point is 00:12:13 That was an interesting facet of on the show. I do get that, like, the whole idea is we get married and have kids, but it is interesting bringing children onto The Bachelor, no? This might happen before. I'm sure it's happened before, but I thought the same thing as you. I thought that it was very weird to have a bunch of kids out there with all these girls fawning over one man. They're like, is this real life?
Starting point is 00:12:37 Like, these kids are a very impressionable age. They're, yeah, I don't, I don't get it. I think it's a bad move, honestly. Even the way Journey was talking to them, like clearly it's a script. And it's like, you know, you're all here for a reason. I'm like, oh, you shouldn't know what they're here for. This is not how you find love, you too. Don't do.
Starting point is 00:12:55 Don't pay attention to what's happening in here. This is not the route to go. But they're starting to shoot around. Everyone's, you know, doing drills, whatever. They're vying for grants attention more or less. I thought this was risky. And I made a note of that. Natalie takes herself off the court.
Starting point is 00:13:11 And she notices that one of the children there is having a hard time catching her breath. as we know she's a she's a breathing specialist i think so like therapy something along those lines so she goes over there just some exercises with her and i was like this is a good move it does show the kid part but this is a risk you're taking because he's on the floor right now he may not see this and he might be too busy doing basketball stuff so i like it but she's taking a gamble out of the it's a good risk though it's it's the it's the other side of the coin of what someone else does in a few minutes by stealing him away. If you do something else that's it,
Starting point is 00:13:48 you almost like, you kind of look at it like you unlock a secret quest. Like, uh, there could be something else here. Like there's a reason why the kids are here. Let's try to piece this all together. The kids are here. Why would they just bring a whole bunch of kids in here if not for us to interact with them? You know, maybe I'll try to do this and that. And I'll play with the kids instead of vying for grants attention.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Maybe he'll look over and see me, something like that. So I think this was the right approach because you're putting everything together. Versus, you know, Parisa, obviously, I'm not going to knock her. That's a good move as well, trying to get that one-on-one time with Grant, trying to teach a little bit basketball. Maybe don't go for defense right away, ask him to teach you how to, like, box out because then you can really, like, throw it back on them. Yeah, shooting form works too.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Yeah, because you can stand him behind you. Yeah, it's like the old tennis racket. Yeah, those are the things that I'm looking for. Yeah, I think that's a good point. But you're right. It's a smart play, but it is a risky play because you're potentially out of his eye line. So the first steal happens, and it's not on the basketball court. Hey.
Starting point is 00:14:51 Nice. I mean, yes, it was technically. But it wasn't during the game. It's not a basketball. By the way, still looking for that picture that your minor league team posted on Valentine's Day saying steal your heart. It's not that hard to find. Dude, I thought I had it saved. I couldn't find it.
Starting point is 00:15:06 I looked through your minor league baseball team's Instagram. Nothing's there anymore. I can't find that. It's so much easier than you think. Is it on your Instagram? No, think about the easiest way to find it. Find anything. Google?
Starting point is 00:15:20 Yeah. Yeah. If you Google Steel Russell baseball, I imagine it would pop up. I don't think it's the type that. You know what? I find it. I promise everybody listening, if I find it, I will post it on Valentine's Day on the Brob Bros account.
Starting point is 00:15:34 I mean, I think we have to. On the pros of shows. The funniest part, dude, when I type my name into Google, the first thing that pops up is Steel Russell wife, dev. there it is all right well i'm going to post it on uh valentine's day so look forward to that if i remember could still be in a drunken stupor thanks to the eagles well well look the better or worse the more surprising thing's not going to be the post it's how i look because i hit puberty apparently when i was 28 years old i looked wildly different than i did when i played but
Starting point is 00:16:02 yeah enjoy that um when shooter posts it but let's get back to the show zoe she steps in first and she takes grant away now as we know this is a controversial move always to the rest of the group because it depends everybody why she's taking the initiative it's just and she takes it's going to happen every it's going to happen every time we watch one of these shows the first person to steal at something that everybody deems is like an inopportune moment they're going to go up in arms immediately i think it's just going to happen it works like clockwork yeah i mean we saw it on the batch of the red it's the same thing and it's just so dumb to me it's The whole point, ladies, anybody, is to end up with this man at the end.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Why do you give a shit about anybody else in the room and fair gameplay and being nice and respectful? Fuck that. Get as much one-on-one time as you can secure that rose. It's a game right now, especially with big numbies. You got to get to the later rounds. Then you can start talking about love and shit. Especially if you're not good at basketball.
Starting point is 00:17:04 If you suck basketball, you're not going to stand out. Maybe you fake an injury. That could be good. Oh, yeah. Oh, that would have been a good. good idea somebody pulls up lame with a hammy
Starting point is 00:17:12 too many people lost their nails in this which is a lot of lost nails during this game the first person who lost their nail it would have been funny
Starting point is 00:17:19 if they were like uh grant can you kiss it yeah I'll make it better see good moves good moves but good moves everywhere like I said the girls are livid I wrote down
Starting point is 00:17:29 this is just gameplay bra and Chloe is venting to the children yeah good move that's what the children are there for no it's not don't drag them into this crazy
Starting point is 00:17:41 dude alley joe said what a bitch or something alley joe is jersey as fuck let me just say that she is all jersey you told me to like to pump the brakes a little bit last week but i'm like she is jersey as shit you're like well we we gotta see we got to figure it out we see we see we see she is from jersey 1,000 but grant returns and uh j palms walks in
Starting point is 00:18:06 with a blow arm game time baby it's game time let's split up into teams, but don't forget, we got an MVP opportunity on the floor. We didn't clarify what the, the, I think Grant just gets to choose. Not even that. I think it was more so, like, what do you get for being MVP? And I guess it was like a little more one on. Oh, yeah. I thought, when he said it, I just assumed that the MVP was going to get a rose.
Starting point is 00:18:31 Like, that was the group date rose, but it was. No, but you got a jacket and a smooch. Yeah. Would have been funny if, like, we can't spoil, damn it. yeah we're trying god it's really hard it's really hard let's get to the game we got team purple aka grant prize boo bad name zoe beverly chloe perisa natalie versus team yellow grant slam boo i that they could have done much better with these seraphina came up with them what i think i think abc came up with it well abc could do better than that then yeah that's fair yeah nobody
Starting point is 00:19:05 I've trained any brain muscles for that one. Serafina, Ali, Joe, Juliana, Vicky, Alicia. That's Team Yellow. All right, we got our teams. We've picked a win. I was, I was cautiously optimistic out of the gate
Starting point is 00:19:21 because they're moving down the floor well. I think is Zoe the one that makes the first shot. And Zoe played in middle school. Yeah. And then she moved on to wrestling, which is important. Very important to know for this. Look, she's playing the Bulldog out there.
Starting point is 00:19:34 she's my role right now because she's getting the ball she's she's doing everything she's doing all the grunt work and taking the shots and she's not taking the game lately and i appreciate that i will say this was about as good as the rugby that we saw on the bachelorette with those guys out there that's honestly yeah not a lot of athletes in these groups are there no no when we watched the dudes play rugby that was sam m's big big breakout day yeah remember that episode that shit was a that guy lost his fucking mind that was crazy yeah oh and then he brought the jersey to the reunion woof oh my it's all coming back weird dude it's coming back it's coming um sorry all i wrote down is zoe can play and then she throws an elbow into alley joe alley joe has been officially
Starting point is 00:20:28 activated you've officially tapped it into jersey joe because she comes back on the floor and just straight body jacks. So she's like, boom. So the game is on, but let's be real. It wasn't much of a game. 18 to two final. Team Purple, the grant prize, uh, they win the game. And everyone starts calling Zoe dirty.
Starting point is 00:20:49 She's playing dirty. I'm like, no, she's just balling. Playing the game. That's pick up basketball. The best play. Now, obviously, Chloe sunk a few baskets. I think Chloe had like eight to ten points, maybe. She just kept going.
Starting point is 00:21:01 Was it that many? Chloe, also making it rain off the backboard. Yeah. Well, you know, you got to use what you have. I know. Trust me. That's my move. Best move, best play of the game was Parisa. No look over the head pass. Oh, yeah, to Chloe for the, yeah, for the assist.
Starting point is 00:21:16 It was great. It was great. I don't think she meant to do it, but it was a great pass. It worked out great. It did. That was a top. They should have put that on ESPN. They should. Yeah. ABC, Disney, ESPN. They're all together. That could have happened. Perisa. Lobbing the ball over ahead. with the with the put-away but overall yes it was not the most impressive game but who got the
Starting point is 00:21:40 MVP none other than Chloe and she gets the Ellis Letterman jacket and then she gets a big old smooge in front of everybody and once again everybody chance kiss me or kiss him yeah everyone chance kiss me kiss me kiss me um just started singing that's what happened kiss me great song uh yeah Yeah, so I was wrong. I thought she was going to get a rose. She got a jacket and a kiss. And like a little one-on-one time after the group date ends, like, once they're, they get to go out there and, like, talk. It's got to be very confusing for these children.
Starting point is 00:22:16 Has anybody thought about the children? Are you the only ones that are bringing this up? I think that there's cause for concern. I think this could warp their minds into thinking, oh, this is how you find love? This and Tinder, great, I'm fucked. That's what these kids are saying now. generations in good hands yeah you guys will be fine but let's get to date night like i said chloe gets a one-on-one with grant but again anybody can steal them so it's not like she got
Starting point is 00:22:42 some big prize other than a stupid jacket like that's not fair MVP she get a rose she doesn't get the first impression rose or the group date rose but nope you know what she can wear that jacket to the reunion cool yeah i don't know i like what she should have gotten more i don't No, I mean, it's a cool keepsake. Yeah. If she loses, do you want to keep the jacket? Probably not. Sell it on eBay.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Oh, you could definitely sell it. We'll probably. Oh, sell it to who he chooses. That would be catty and fun, but we could, we could buy it and put it in the case here. Oh, that would be a good one. Yeah. Just throwing that out there. We don't know anybody at ABC.
Starting point is 00:23:22 I don't think so. I was going to start spamming people on Instagram. Yeah. That's what I'm going to do. Just use, like, typical names like M. Smith at ABC. cbc.com see if oh yeah just start sending emails i'll fuck with that sure i'll i'll keep you guys posted on how that's going if we we land the jacket or not it sounds like a solid plan to me but wait wait wait we're thinking about this all wrong why don't we just find chloe on instagram dm her
Starting point is 00:23:43 and ask her for the jacket oh i'll try that we should try that let's try it well but then she'll know she probably can't let it slip whether she won or not or she got the boot that's fair yeah we'll wait we'll figure this out we'll keep you guys updated on the jacket saga because this is not over, I promise you that. It was just happy talk. And I'm keeping note of that because it's very important because that tends to be the go-to move on one-on-ones is a trauma dump back and forth and then they trauma bond. I don't know if that's going to work with Grant that much, though.
Starting point is 00:25:33 Because when he talks about his background, he usually touches on it and moves on. Like this is how it shaped me into who I am. And then it's kind of like move on. It's not like. But like even going back to when he was a contested on The Bachelorette, he didn't talk really about trauma. He just,
Starting point is 00:25:47 he talked about like how close he was with his family, how much he loved his sister, things like that that we already saw in the beginning of this one. Yeah. So his dad, like a rough time with his dad. Yeah. which we already know about.
Starting point is 00:25:58 Yeah, so I don't know. Maybe that's not the move for him. We'll have to see all the strategies go. Yeah, we'll see. But we get to the ladies and Zoe speaks up and says, oh, Chloe earned that one-on-one. And of course, Allie Joe's like, well, you didn't. And this is the first time we see real tension in the group. And we knew it would come from this.
Starting point is 00:26:18 And everybody's concerned about the lack of respect for the group. There's a way to go about it, time and place, this, that, the other thing. let's be real because we saw the same shit with the guys in the bachelorette you guys are upset that you didn't steal them first she she went and took some very pivotal time and she took time away from you as well they didn't think of it first they're they're they're masking it by saying you disrespected the rest of the group and i love when the word disrespect gets brought up so he's like whoa whoa now we're talking about disrespect okay all right i thought that we were here to win the game thought we were here to get time with grant no yeah okay yeah so that's that's how we're
Starting point is 00:26:56 going to play this. And I don't understand this either because this happens on every fucking season. Why is it such a big sticking point? Like you said in the beginning of the episode, you should be the one to walk over to Grant and try to do it. Who cares? What's the worst? He's going to say, yes, we have yet to see him asked to be stolen away and not go with who asked to steal him away. That would be a very big moment because we didn't see that with Jen Tran either. Like, not ever do they deny the removal from where they're currently at. That would be an interesting move. If they're like, no, then you're probably fucked.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Yeah, now you're fine. Get out of here. I'm having fun. Why don't you just go away? But as they're arguing about all that, Natalie gets some time with Grant. And lo and behold, her little gamble played because he saw it happening. Not only that, he's got a video from the kid that she helped saying, I'm, Natalie, I love you. I miss you so much.
Starting point is 00:27:52 You are so great. It's a great move. this was the best play and again it was a risk risk paid off I like this connection I always take note of that good connection here
Starting point is 00:28:04 solid connection and we end it with a smooch so what did you rate the smooch the smooch I gave a 6.8 out of 10 wow didn't like the smooch I didn't hate it it just maybe that was a little short
Starting point is 00:28:18 yeah I had like an 8.2 yeah well here's my thing is I haven't seen a ton of smooches yet so like if I go too high and then there's like a really good one. You know, I got to play the law of, not the law of averages, but if I go too high too early,
Starting point is 00:28:31 then I don't leave a whole lot of room for improvement. I can't come out of the gate with a nine, you know? Plus it's early. What if it's a really hot smooch? Then I would give it a nine early, but then I would have to hope that no hotter smooges happen or else I'm in trouble with the ranking system.
Starting point is 00:28:44 There's got to be a good scale here because what if it's too much? Then it's like, oh, right, there's a little too much. Can I amend it? And obviously you've got to deduct some points. Can I amend it?
Starting point is 00:28:51 Too late, right? I already gave it, 6.8. 6.8, but I like their connection. Maybe, maybe it'll get steamier as we go. I don't know, but. Oh, steamy. All right. It's the steamy, steely scale. Steely, steely, steely, steel. That's what it is.
Starting point is 00:29:08 Steely, steamy scale. Say that three times fast. No. Anyway, let's get back to the ladies are all talking smack. That's not me. I would never do that. They're over at the bar while Zoe sits on the couch alone. And they're all just like, I can't. I would never play that way. like, that's not my game at all. Like, did I want to do that? Of course, I wanted to do that,
Starting point is 00:29:27 but I would never do that to you ladies. Bullshit, you just didn't think of it first, and you guys are all mad, and you're all mad at the same person, so you're having a little kiki about it over there while she sits and listens, but I don't think Zoe's faced. I don't think she really cares.
Starting point is 00:29:40 I think she plays a little hurt later, but she's there for one reason. She's there for Grant, and it's time that everybody else gets on the same page. A lot of you're going to get left behind. You're going to go the route of Thomas N from Jen season, because you're going to try to be the hero of the group and you're going to lose sight of what matters
Starting point is 00:29:57 and that's Grant and he's going to notice and be like, well, you don't have time for me, smell you later. Don't have time for this bullshit. I don't get how your brain works. You can remember Thomas and. No idea. Yeah, okay. Okay, I forget.
Starting point is 00:30:09 As long as we're in agreement there. I forget there's two group dates, but I can tell you what happened in individual one-on-ones and their name and last name. Name and initial. Crazy. And there's last name. Three Tom's last year, too.
Starting point is 00:30:21 Thomas, Ewan. Yeah, I don't know. Don't, I don't, don't fucking ask. Thanks, man. I guess it's more alarming to me than, than positive. But anyway, we get Juliana with Grant. As we know, she had a strong start last week. She's a frontrunner, I believe, is she's on my team.
Starting point is 00:30:39 She's team steel. So very proud of Julianna. She's definitely, we'll do this at the end. We'll do it at the end. We save our teams for the end. Sure. But broken nail. she was the first broken nail
Starting point is 00:30:53 so Grant gives her a nice hand massage I think he used the entire bottle of oil it made me uncomfortable not like uncomfortable like just uncomfortable like I my hands felt slippery because she had to go to the bathroom wash it off and so did he
Starting point is 00:31:07 yeah yeah but anyway very smooth oil on like the next girl too probably caressing somebody's face and then she's like what is that from the fuck is that oil on you it's like oh no who the hell is here before me Juliani
Starting point is 00:31:22 kicked her out but what i've gathered from grant and we saw this on on gen season as well he's very smooth he's very smooth with his uh flirtation he's always got the moves like the oil you know just the way that he goes about this whole thing he's always very smooth with it using that much oil you know how can he not be smooth no ha ha ha i mean that's the easy one but yeah uh-huh good connection wrote that down good connection here and we do get a smooch i thought this was a better smooch but they also have practice 7.4 on the smooch scale does your smooch scale have anything to do with your team what the fuck does that supposed to me it means are you going to give higher ratings yeah see you don't know words are you going to give higher ratings
Starting point is 00:32:13 to people on your team. Do you want me to look through real quick to make sure I didn't do that? No, I didn't do that. Because Alex, who had to argue is your number one player, I'll get to her ranking when we get there. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:28 So, no, I did not do that. That's a valid, it's a valid grievance. I'm just asking, look. The grievance has been filed. I don't think you would do it. I don't think you would do it. I'm a man of honor. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Okay. But the grievance was filed. It's been debunked. Okay. Let's move on. All right. All right. Cool.
Starting point is 00:32:43 Yeah. Can we move on? Yeah, I'm trying to, but you can keep talking. Because Juliana gets stepped in on by Zoe. She gets stolen. Smelia, gives her the boot. Zoe's now two-fer. This is too much.
Starting point is 00:32:55 This was too much. I agreed. This was won too many times. Devon territory, although Devin won. Devin did win. And then lost. Well, he lost himself, really. But I agreed.
Starting point is 00:33:07 I thought it was a little strong, but he responds to it better. So maybe this is the move. Maybe you do have to double down. Maybe it is. His response wasn't bad at all. And, of course, the girls are pissed. But I did appreciate that I think it was Giuliana that said it. You got to do what you got to do in these moments.
Starting point is 00:33:22 So she does understand this is part of the game. She's not getting too up in arms about it. The only person that's getting the most mad is Ali Jo. She's livid about this whole thing. And she's equating it to disrespect. It's the game. Talking to my guy all wrong. You're talking to my guy all wrong.
Starting point is 00:33:38 It's the wrong tone. You do it again. I mean, that's what I expect her to say. I understand that it's like, it's a jersey thing. But like, I mean, yeah, we saw a lot of jersey in this episode. Now I'm going to take this as a sign of disrespect. You're disrespecting me, which means you're disrespecting my entire family. And now we've got a problem.
Starting point is 00:34:00 Yeah. But she's pissed off. But we get back to Zoe and Grant. This is interesting because this is something that we saw play later. And obviously we're going to draw. a lot of parallels from the Bachelorette season because we're fresh off of that one. That's our closest reference point. And Grant
Starting point is 00:34:17 was there. But we did see this happen with one of the main front runners for a while on that show and Sam N. The emotional connection or lack thereof. Because Zoe has done a good job of getting her time one-on-one. But I noticed
Starting point is 00:34:32 it as well, Zoe's got some walls up. It's always a tough cookie. It's just very light flirtations, I would say. Yeah, it's very, you know, let's just go surface level on this. Let's just make a couple of flirty comments. Maybe we'll get a smooch at the end of it. Maybe I'll talk to you about, you know, what's going on in your life? What are you doing over here? All those types of things. Although I did see something on Twitter. Apparently when Grant decided that basketball wasn't going to do it for him, he moved to day trading
Starting point is 00:35:00 and lost all of his money and said that was really hard. I thought he made a ton of money day trading. He didn't know his whole thing? I think he, well, maybe he eventually started to make it, but like the one quote that I saw was really funny. Yeah, I started day trading. I lost all of my money. It was really hard, guys. I would imagine. That sounds really hard.
Starting point is 00:35:20 Good to see you back on your feet. I love Grant, so I don't want him to go through it. But yeah, I mean, you're right. That doesn't sound awful. That doesn't sound awesome. Yeah, you're right. Words are hard for me today.
Starting point is 00:35:31 Good call. You know me well. But as they're having their moment together, Allie is just working up a tizzy back in the room. And I love that everyone's, like, riling up, they're like, fuck, go get him. Go get him then. Come on. Go get him.
Starting point is 00:35:45 You got this. And Allie just storms out of the room and walks up and goes to Zoe and goes, hey, can I steal him for a sec? And she's like, give me two minutes. I'm like, I don't hate that move either. That's a good move. But what stood, Caller Bluff is a good move. But what stood out the most to me is when Grant got up with Allie Joe, he turns back
Starting point is 00:36:05 and says, I'll be back to Zoe. And that tells me that the double down was bad. Yeah. No, the double down definitely wasn't bad. But Zoe was then lurking and peering around. You got to play cooler. If you're going to be that person, if you're going to be the person that steps up
Starting point is 00:36:19 and tries to steal him from different people, especially when he's on a 101, one-on-one. You've got to play cool. You've got to go sit in that chair over there. Stay in the chair that you were in. He'll come back. And if he doesn't come back, you playfully, the next time you see him,
Starting point is 00:36:32 say, hey, you never came back. I just sat in that chair. I slept in that chair last night. What the hell? Make him feel a little bit bad, but make a joke. It's fun. Or you sit there and wait. and then he leaves the room and then you have
Starting point is 00:36:42 another reason to go steal him. Hey, you left me hanging. Yep. We've got to finish our conversation. It leaves the door open. But she didn't even need that to happen because she just goes right back while Ali's talking to her. This was too many times. This is way too many times. Like the second one, fine. The third one, like,
Starting point is 00:37:00 whoa, she walked, now you just come off as rude. You know, I get, there's a fine line and I get we've been saying this whole time. It's all about gameplay. Steal your time. Well, that is disrespectful now. Now you're also in a disrespectful territory. Because I think that it's going to rub Grant the wrong way. There's a certain point where it goes from I'm trying to steal time to I'm making this personal, in my opinion. And so, of course, Allie is now, you know, super pissed.
Starting point is 00:37:27 So she goes back downstairs and it's fucking game on because Zoe returns. And Ali's like, what's your problem? Hey, what the fuck? What's your fucking problem? Yeah, you got a fucking problem with me. say it to my fucking face like it it goes from you can feel attention rising to immediate
Starting point is 00:37:46 in one episode which is great but now they're all at each other's throats and by all at each other they're all at Zoe's throat but I if you look around the room I would say there's more than a few that understand yeah you know they're pissed obviously but they're like at the same time like this is part of the fucking game like we're here for a reason
Starting point is 00:38:07 Ali's taking it personally I don't know if it's because she actually feels disrespected. To me, I took it more as she hasn't had a lot of time. She finally got time and then that time was cut short. Yes. I think that's pretty much. No, I don't
Starting point is 00:38:23 think it's about Zoe. But I mean, it is about Zoe because Zoe is the reason why I got cut short and she already had a problem with Zoe to begin with. She took it upon herself to be mad at Zoe on behalf of the rest of the group saying he was being rude and disrespectful. And then Zoe took that personally and said, you know, I'm going to poke the bear a
Starting point is 00:38:39 little bit. I'm going to get her going. I'm going to get her off her game. She's getting emotional now. She's not going to be thinking about her time with Grant. She's going to be thinking about me. That's what Devin did. And it goes to say that last year when Grant was on that show, do you remember what his reaction to Devin was? He was mellow about it. He was like, this is part of the game. Part of the game. He's got to go get his time. Now, obviously, Jen really liked Grant. So he had that going for him. But he still didn't care that Devin was doing it. So maybe he understands how this is how the game works. But like you said, the third time is too much.
Starting point is 00:39:10 That's going to eventually rub him the wrong way if she keeps doing it. Because in the back of his head, he's probably thinking about Devin. He's like, when's the last time I saw this? Oh, yeah. Now you're, oh, yeah, you don't want to be lumped in with Devin. Yeah, he's one of the more hated people, especially recently. What an asshole. That was such a weird move.
Starting point is 00:39:28 But anyway, Grant returns to the whole group and we get our date rows. It turns out that Natalie stepping aside and helping out the children was the right move. Natalie secures the date goes achieved the side quest paid off she is safe she's on your team I believe correct so you that was a good move she's a good player you got a good player on your team but let's get to those though would you relax just saying the fucking date rose why do you so been out of shape for I want it all well you rate you can rate them then no then fucking leave me alone because we get to this one on one day with Alex who I would say is probably your best candidate. How sick was this date by the way? This was the coolest date ever.
Starting point is 00:40:15 It's so much better than a fucking hot air balloon or horseback riding or hot tubs or all that shit that they always do. This was the coolest one. They leave all the stores open. You can go do whatever the fuck you want. Like this is a dream come true. I've thought about doing this. I do have to ask you when they get to the ice cream. There's two two answers here that will work. yeah what movie did that big bowl ice cream with all the sprinkles everything remind you of that came to me immediately there's two answers well there's um matilda that wasn't one of mine that's not bad but i know what you're talking where yeah we're the the the the chubby kid that's neat on that ice cream yeah i couldn't remember his name um sorry bruce i had to call you the
Starting point is 00:40:58 chubby kid everybody knows that you are there uh fuck what it even looked like it i'll give you the one more obscure one. So the first one that's like a little more obvious is home alone when he's in bed. Oh, okay. Yeah. This one's a little more obscure, but I think if you, if it comes to you the way that it did to me, you'd be like, oh my God, yeah. Blank check in the back of the limo. Oh, yeah. Yeah. With cream. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:24 Yeah, that's great. You don't know the funny thing about blank check is though? I always mix that up with Richie Rich. They're very, I mean, it's the same movie. It is not. Not, No, it is, but it's not. It is because it's the rich kid, but it's not. Richie Rich grew up rich. He writes a blank. He commits check fraud and then has a very inappropriate relationship with a female police officer, actually.
Starting point is 00:41:49 It's a straight. That's a weird movie. Yeah. That one may not hold up. Maybe I just need to like not think about that stuff. Should we read? We should do a rewatch a blank check. Yeah, let's do it.
Starting point is 00:41:58 Come on. That's a great fucking movie. And John Candy was the limo driver. There you go. But anyway, one on one with Alex. Lex, like you said, best date ever. And we get the bed makeout, 8.7 because of the setup, phenomenal setup, great moment, great date. You can tell it was in, this was steamy.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Now, what? I will say, I know that this was just kind of like a set, like, you know, ABC was there. They probably changed the bedding and all of that. If you're at home and you're in public, don't go lay in the beds at the bed. No, yeah, please don't do that. Don't do that. do that. A lot of people do that. I know. Why? You just put your hand down. Just kind of
Starting point is 00:42:38 feel it. You can even sit on the end of it. Yeah. Yeah, but don't lay. It's a very strange move. I agree. Thank you for calling that out. I don't like when people do that. I love making out too. You know when you go into like IKEA? That probably happens. Oh, I guarantee that happens. But I've gone into IKEA so many times
Starting point is 00:42:54 that people are like sprawled out on the furniture. I'm like, oh, get off. Move. Their shoes and shit too? Yeah. Oh my God. I do I, I should I've seen feet with shoes up on coffee tables. It's wild, wild move. But anyway, Grant breaks out a piano song
Starting point is 00:43:11 that he apparently made up from scratch. I don't believe that. I don't believe that was completely free song. I'm sure he wrote a few songs because as we see later, there's another one too, actually. I'm sure he had a couple of songs up his sleeve that he was working on over the summer.
Starting point is 00:43:25 Yeah, I think that was bits and pieces, but that was not completely ad-libbed. I didn't fall for that. But it was, smooth. It's very smooth. Very smooth. It seems like Alex has that same interest of music that he does, which is helpful.
Starting point is 00:43:40 These two, this is real. I like these two together. That pains me to say because she's on your team, but you can't deny the chemistry. You can't deny the spark between the two of them. Her quirkiness plays very well for her because he likes that about her. He's like the mellow guy. She's the quirky fun one.
Starting point is 00:43:57 And they make a cute couple. I hate to say it because he's, If she goes, if she goes wire to wire, that's going to surprise you. I know, I know, but I, I like her. She's, she's good. She's good. You're good. You're good.
Starting point is 00:44:14 But they start talking about family stuff. We did get a little bit of a trauma dump here. So I will ding her one for that, but it does appear that that's just the move. So I don't know if you can dock points. Everybody does it. It's fair. She goes through her relationship with her dad and wanting it to be better and, or sorry, Grant talks about his relationship with his dad.
Starting point is 00:44:30 And then she talks about her untraditional upbringing. You know, she was raised by her grandparents, a strange for her mom. Her dad was MIA for like 17 years out of her life. So again, it is a trauma dump, but these two do have a lot of things in common. They were independent as kids. They kind of come together on that one. And it's important to have a backstory between the two of you. So good connection, great date, solid kiss.
Starting point is 00:44:52 I put her top three in the running right now because it was an exceptional job. And here's what I liked about it. I want to know who the other two are. are my front runners it's it's gonna just be two of your people you don't know that you're being nice you're being nice by putting one of mine and then you'll be like no she might be like in the lead she's top three i don't know she is top three i don't even know if i have a top but i'm giving like a lump of like three at the at the helm and she's up there and i think this is why this is what i was saying none of her shit felt overproduced like it didn't feel like she was forcing things when she was talking to him that's fair but You know, it's all right. So you're not going to say that it's like Juliana and Carolina or the other two. Why don't you wait until I give you my other two?
Starting point is 00:45:39 Why are you so stuck on bias? Is it because we're playing the cheese this week? And you're like, oh, you're fucking blaming the refs? Are you the ref? That would be fixed. It's not fair. We need a third person. That's what you're implying.
Starting point is 00:45:52 We need a third person. Do you see the metaphor I'm trying to make here? We're going to do a bros and shows thing here where we're going to have our fans reach out and we're going to pick one lucky winner to be our mediator. To do what? I don't know. They're just going to sit on the, uh, they're breaking up with us. No, they're going to record with us.
Starting point is 00:46:09 And they're not going to be on the screen, but every once in a while, they're going to just jump in and be like, I, I, I, at flag on steel, can't do that. Why is it a flag? You don't even know who my other two are. You're going to change it now, but no, I'm not. No, I'm not. Because I'm, again, man of honor. I have a code that you do not adhere to.

Welcome to Night Vale is available wherever you get your podcasts. because we're on group date number two now
Starting point is 00:48:00 after they end their date with a dance which was lovely but it's funny to hear the sentiment of everyone's so supportive and I'm like yeah for now like just do wait and there was talk of what happened on the first group date so now obviously people are a little bit wary of what's going to happen on the
Starting point is 00:48:15 second one but fucking Mario let me love you not expect that not at all I was thrilled very happy great moment We shouldn't have just had a concert from him
Starting point is 00:48:30 the whole time. That would have been awesome. But our activity is to write and perform a song live for Grant. It's not about the song. It's not about singing, right? It's about expressing yourself in the realest way. Yeah, it's about that.
Starting point is 00:48:49 No, it's about expressing yourself in the realest way because that's what Mario said. Okay? It's about expressing yourself. Do you trust Mario? Is Mario ever been on this show? don't don't you sit here and disparage Mario okay don't don't do that in the last 20 you're fucking you have a Mario mustache I know it's a different Mario but like you get
Starting point is 00:49:07 you can't talk to about anybody named Mario you didn't have to do anything in 20 years you didn't have to you live on royalties from the songs he has out I'm just saying okay keep you keep saying to yourself because we also have Robin Anton who is pussycat dolls creator yep did she was she part of it when they tried to bring him back and they fucking yeah probably yeah i also wasn't pussycat dolls not making the band i don't know i just know that they fell apart because probably better if we say that robin made them though because if it is making the bands
Starting point is 00:49:43 then it gets a little murky people involved in that show no no that's not even bring those robin did it yeah robin robin was the creator of the pussycat dolls okay so she's also choreographer she's helping out the girls with their dance but you know what we need to break the ice i'll tell you what we need we need grand ellis on the mic with i would imagine that this one was supposed to be like a freestyle but he wrote this one down whereas the first one was supposed to be the opposite i i don't know uh he's you know what it works whatever he's doing it's working it worked and for you to say that because you hate performances oh dude this entire fucking second date was me cringing the whole time.
Starting point is 00:50:27 Did you hate the whole thing? I could not handle it. I thought it was funny. I thought it was a good way to break the ice. I also didn't see it. It was funny at first, but yeah, certain people,
Starting point is 00:50:38 it got weird. It did get weird. And I, I didn't, I assumed it would. I didn't expect, you know, the aftermath of everything.
Starting point is 00:50:46 But we get the back street girls, is what they call themselves. Bailey goes first, uh, two out of ten. Yeah. Didn't care for it. Thought it was unimaginative.
Starting point is 00:50:56 Latia, I gave a four out of ten. She tried. It just wasn't that great. Rose got a five. Yep. She got a five out of ten. A little more creative. Carolina coming in with an eight.
Starting point is 00:51:08 Yeah. Yeah, Carolina killed it. Dina, I gave a six. I think was terrible. Pretty high for Tina. You think that was too high? I had her way lower. Yeah, but she's on my team.
Starting point is 00:51:18 So. Rebecca, I gave a. This is a split score. Yeah, no, I agree. I already know what you're going to do with it. Because I gave her a seven performance, but I gave her like a three for what she said. Like the creativity was not. She was the best singer of the group.
Starting point is 00:51:40 She was. She didn't write enough down. She didn't have enough of a song. And then she was way too little props like in that. Props and it was so literally like, yeah, let's get engaged and make a baby, baby, baby. Yeah, I didn't. I didn't let that was what I was. stopped my i wanted to like turn my brain you were no longer having fun at that point no i wasn't
Starting point is 00:51:58 having fun anymore well don't worry because carolina gets the dub all right yeah because of that performance and full-blown straddle makeout session on the couch in front of a crowd yeah she's the winner why is there a couch there i don't know because that's where grant was sitting during their performances keep up i know i i know but like they brought a couch into this weird jen sat in a couch when the the dudes did the magic mic in last year yeah yeah because they danced on her they just had chairs no no it was a couch i don't remember a lot dude how is it this show you remember everything for our bravo shows you're just like i don't know what i don't know but probably because this one i can watch more i don't have to take as many notes on
Starting point is 00:52:43 this one i just have to like keep us like little things whereas like bravo i got to write down fucking everything that's happening so it's probably that that actually makes me feel better because i was like why do i know so much the last season of that's a big bachelor guy i do love this show don't get it twisted but everybody that was not selected is wildly uncomfortable yeah i watching this scene was wildly uncomfortable did you rate the make out of those two yeah i gave that an eight point five so i gave her less than alex how about that okay show me the eight point five and you're absolutely not you know it's not in there i know it's not in there i did give an 8.5
Starting point is 00:53:29 for the makeout yes this make out yeah for the straddle couch make out okay all right fucker jesus why are you so stuck on the numbers what it's a fucking made up scale in the results i think you're skew in the results i think that what happens is people listen to this podcast on abc so we might have some contacts there and they're skewing the results based on your ratings. Do you think that they're going to change your, you're an idiot. Yeah. That's the dumbest, that's one of your dumber takes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:59 Dumbass. Prove me wrong. Prove you wrong. Yeah, email Smyth at ABC.com. I'll figure it out. I will. Do you know I will. You're going to open up our email tomorrow. It's going to be like 50 return to senders like email not available.
Starting point is 00:54:17 But anyway, Grant arrives. He notices the awkwardness. He notices the awkwardness. He notices the silence and Grant takes Rebecca over to chat. He's like hey, what's the vibe? Like, what the fuck's going on in that room? It feels really weird.
Starting point is 00:54:31 And she does get into it and just say like, look, the whole thing happened. It made us a lot kind of uncomfortable to watch, but we understand that's part of the game. What I like about Grant, and he seems to do this with everybody. I don't know if it's part of the show. I think it's just who he is, because we saw this on his performance
Starting point is 00:54:47 last year. He makes that everyone's comfortable. He talks and through it. He's like, I'm sorry if you felt that way. I want to protect you. I want to protect you. I want to protect everybody. He seems like that kind of guy. So I appreciate that he took the time to do that. Rebecca comes on very strong every time. Yeah, I agree with this.
Starting point is 00:55:03 Very strong. And I think she's trying to be nice. Like, what she's saying is, is sweet. It's a sweet sentiment. You should have just left it at bad. I don't know why she gets so deep right away. Yeah. But I don't know why she did this. It was just a bad move. You could have left it there. Like, you should have recognized right then and there.
Starting point is 00:55:20 I'm the first person that he's pulling to talk about this. Like he feels the room is off. People are weird. He doesn't take Carolina, Carolina. He takes me and he sits up there. So he trusts me. You're the thermometer.
Starting point is 00:55:33 In the vibe. Yeah. He wants me to sit there and tell him what's going on with the girls because he trusts me. Instead, she just immediately ruins all of that. It's like, you could have just left it at that, but you know what?
Starting point is 00:55:44 They'll come around. Don't worry about that. You are now his right-hand woman. You're going to sit there and be like, you know what they'll come around don't worry about it I'm already over it just by sitting with you that's all the that's really all you have to say you do not have to go this deep that fast it was crazy
Starting point is 00:55:57 to me she got real deep real quick I thought it was too you're the first one out and she just and again I don't know what it's like to play these shows I can't imagine what the pressure is and like but I just thought it was a little too strong a little too quickly but Rose and Grant they sit
Starting point is 00:56:13 down and he's checking it on her as well hey how are you feeling and she's like you know it was a lot but I know this is what we signed up for. I felt bad for Carolina. Because as all this is happening with Grant on the side, she's in a confessional and she's like, I didn't try to like rub it in.
Starting point is 00:56:30 I took advantage of a situation. Yeah. I won. You shouldn't feel bad. This is a game show, right? You need to have a little bit more Zoe. Two wildly different dates though, so the group dates.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Oh, yeah. And two wildly different outcomes too. Mm-hmm. Where the rest, like all the women in this group are all just like, whoa they're in shambles right now i don't know what to do how do we come back from this let's all just kind of sit here in silence whereas the other group's ready to like rip each other's throats out and it's just so funny too because like you can't plan for something like this and i don't know i think if you stick somebody like alley jo in this group i think she's also going to just
Starting point is 00:57:08 be ali joe she's going to be at somebody's neck she's going to do this she's going to do that i think she's weird that they got these two different personalities i agree sorry i didn't mean to cut you off. I was just, like, yeah, if she saw that with Carolina, you're correct. That would have been the same response as Zoe stealing her away, I think. Good, good point. Very good point. But I think that might
Starting point is 00:57:29 play, though. It might play. What might play? Her being like that because it shows that she gives a shit. Here's where it's going to bite her in the ass, though. It's going to do the same thing that happened to Thomas. And if she can
Starting point is 00:57:45 show that she cares in the group and when she It's in one-on-one. It's about Grant, not the girls. I think it plays. If she goes and sits down with him and starts complaining about everybody else in the group, I think that's when it becomes a problem. But we get to Latia.
Starting point is 00:58:01 She has some follow-up questions from their first date or their first one-on-one together because he said something that triggered her, stuck with her a little bit. He said, I bet that people don't tell you know a lot because you're so pretty. And I actually made a note when he said, I was like, that's not usually like his go-to is like looks and like that wasn't the best thing to say.
Starting point is 00:58:22 Yeah, usually he's very comforting and, you know, open. Yeah, and he went that route. It wasn't, yeah. I think, yeah, I took note at that last week. I was like, oh, that's, that's an interesting move from him. I didn't love that one. He felt weird after he said it too, because he seems like the kind of guy that would feel a little weird. Like, what did I just say?
Starting point is 00:58:36 So, and like, clearly we have a man crush on Grant, so like we want to think the best of them. No, but like, that was weird. But he does acknowledge like, oh, my God, I shouldn't, said that that was a bad moment for me i'm really sorry obviously i don't know what your story is because her whole thing is like it triggered me because all i've ever heard is no that's her self-awareness in that moment's like that's why i'm here on the fucking bachelor i was like yeah yeah that makes sense to me but it was a great interaction between these two i like it i think there's a connection there kiss i gave seven to yep i i agree with seven two but i thought that
Starting point is 00:59:14 it was a real connection i think there's room to grow here I do think they're different. And I think that you can maybe allude to her Mormon upbringing. There's definitely going to be some things there. It's just different. You can tell they're just from different places. So I'm curious how that's going to work. And I think Latia is on your team.
Starting point is 00:59:33 Yeah, she is. Yeah. So I think that she actually could have done a way better than she did now that I'm thinking back. Yeah, now that you're thinking back on it. No, I think the connections there. I do. I think that she's doing a really good job. A lot of this is like time and place
Starting point is 00:59:48 and appropriate conversations that you're going to have and I think that this one was appropriate. It's something that was bothering her. It's something that's probably not who Grant is. It's not how he presents himself. So call him out on it and say that it made you feel a little bit weird. Yeah. At the very least it's going to get your rose for tonight.
Starting point is 01:00:06 That's what I thought to. He's not going to send you home after you call him. No fucking shot. You're definitely going to get a rose. One, two, I like it because it shows Grant like she will tell you what's up. you know, if she's not cool with something or something rubbed to the wrong way, she will speak her mind.
Starting point is 01:00:20 So I like that move as well on the TSA. But yeah, it will solidify your spot for next week. I think it's like a guarantee, but now we get Carolina sitting down with Grant. Obviously Caroline is sad and she's like, I don't want to step on any toes and I feel like I made everybody
Starting point is 01:00:35 uncomfortable now. I'm uncomfortable and he's like, well, you didn't do anything wrong? She's like, well, do you think that you did something wrong? Grant's like, I wish I could have heard his inner monologue because I think he was like, fuck no like this is why I'm here he's like it's like no
Starting point is 01:00:49 absolutely not like it was a moment we had a moment you won we were celebrating I can't wait for some of the real shit to start happening on this show in like four weeks and then we're going to think about like makeouts pissing people off when there's like hot tub stuff going on and what are the rooms called
Starting point is 01:01:05 the conjugal visits as we call it conjugal visits yep that's what we're calling them the fantasy sweets the fantasy sweets I want to be called the conjugal visits that wouldn't make any sweetheart sweets yeah it's close enough yeah it's close
Starting point is 01:01:20 well I did think this was a decent smooch I think it 7.3 you know it wasn't like everything's still mellow because everyone's still getting used to everything that's why I didn't want to go too high that's fair makes sense but I did think the Alex one
Starting point is 01:01:34 there's more of a connection there's two two weeks in a row so I gave the 8.7 yeah totally right fuck everyone on the same page at home yeah everybody's on the same page track yeah what's your problem what you're fucking your energy your aura something about it you're
Starting point is 01:01:56 fucking your aura is wrong i need you to change it because you're pisseding me off and we're absolutely not look we get to the what is the gd rose i don't even know my own notes some bros group moron that was really stupid it's not easy being me sometimes the god damn rose for somebody that prides myself on being pretty intelligent my stupidity really upsets me sometimes okay yeah that's okay the group i was like the god damn rose like gosh darn gosh darn rose god damn it oh my god again
Starting point is 01:02:39 oh no oh no if you didn't listen to an episode yesterday you have no idea what that is yeah but anyway let's get to the rose ceremony
Starting point is 01:02:51 letia gets the group date rose carolina is obviously crushed but I think you're going to be okay I think you're going to make it to the rose ceremony and we get there and did we miss Bailey Oh, we missed. Yeah, Bailey is somewhere in between all of us.
Starting point is 01:03:06 She's right before the ceremony. Okay. Yeah. No, no, she's during when they're kind of like mixing it up. All right, never mind. Yeah, we're still on track. I was just making sure. I don't want to forget.
Starting point is 01:03:15 That was a big part of this whole thing. But we get to the Rose ceremony. And Beverly finally gets some one-on-one time with Grant. And he gave some speech about being emotionally available, which is I think those speeches are just to offer up talking points, more or less to everybody like this is what we should discuss emotionally available. So they have a nice little chit-chat. She gets a smooch.
Starting point is 01:03:39 I didn't even grade it because it was too quick. Like these smoochs, I don't count because these are like beforehand. But anyway, I thought the letter from Ella was a good move. I thought it was too. I thought this was a good play. Yeah, personal touch.
Starting point is 01:03:52 Oh, fuck, I can't do it. I'll talk about it when we get there. But I did write Bailey is still kind of venting to the group. I did not write it down earlier, but yeah, let's talk about Bailey. So Bailey's having a rough go right now. Bailey is visibly upset because she's been in shambles since the dance off thing. Yeah, she hasn't been great since the dance off. And I think that a big part of it is she's now questioning her gameplay, which will happen.
Starting point is 01:04:18 You know, you're going to have some moments. We have to rethink your approach. That's what she's supposed, baby. You said it when, and last week, she was just, you know, she was too lighthearted. It was too silly. Like we needed to get more serious. got to lock in a little bit. I think she's starting to pick up on that. So she's upset. She feels like she hasn't put her best foot forward yet. She's afraid she's going to go home.
Starting point is 01:04:37 She can't stop crying. So she's embarrassed about that. But I guarantee you the tears kept her around, which I just spoiled that she stays around. Sorry. But I think that her conversation with Grant and actually being that vulnerable because she could not physically stop crying. I think that played. I think you like that. No, I think you'd like that too. I think that it shows pretty much much the way to work yourself with Grant is to just show as much emotion as possible. Be yourself. Whether it's be pissed off because something didn't work your way, whether it's to start crying because you're uncomfortable or you're upset about something, he'll comfort you.
Starting point is 01:05:14 That's what he wants to do. That's what Grant's all about. He's all about big comfort. And that's what he wants to do. That's what you want to be. That's what we call him over here at the bro's show studio. But he wants to just make sure that you're open, that you're vulnerable. and then he's going to put his big old paws around you and give you a big old hug
Starting point is 01:05:32 get on in here come on in here with a big comfort yeah come all no i could use a hug from big comfort right now you know yeah you know you want me to hug you no god no no no it's like mustache oil or something i don't know what the fuck i'm good and then fucking enchiladas you ate a bunch enchiladas tonight i did yeah so no i'm good thanks thank you i'm good but anyway, as Bailey and Grant are talking, yet Chloe with the deal, so Chloe steps in, takes away some time. I really like Chloe.
Starting point is 01:06:07 She's not even on the one's team. Is she on yours? I don't even know. I really like Chloe. I think that she's great. She's entertaining. She's fun to watching the show. But we get to the Rose ceremony. I thought it was one of the funniest things ever that Grant
Starting point is 01:06:24 opened up with, don't take it personally. I don't pick you. What are supposed to think it's not you but it's you it's not me but it might be you but it's not you it's just all the other people woman that i did pick yeah yeah it's the other women that took the time that you needed to talk to me yeah which there were a bunch of absent people in this episode i know right but that happens that happened i know when we watched again didn't talk to him or if we just didn't see it i don't know what it was you know who that happened with why the fuck do i know this austin remember him he didn't catch up to like the fourth episode
Starting point is 01:06:59 what the what's Jesus that's all didn't he leave early he did leave early he did leave early he did leave early because he thought that he wasn't getting enough time and he was actually like in the running she was like oh I came out of nowhere yeah he strange very strange but rose ceremony
Starting point is 01:07:14 don't take it personally weird let's go through it first rose juliana second rose beverly third rose seraphina fourth carolina fifth Zoe six Dina, seven, rose, eight, Bailey, nine, Poresa, 10, Allie Joe. Final rose goes to Chloe, which leaves us with Ella going home, Rebecca going home, Vicky, and surprising to me, Alicia got the boot.
Starting point is 01:07:44 I don't know what the hell happened to her. That's who I was talking about. She was like a big presence in the first episode and then wasn't in this one at all. She's just like, okay, I got through the first one. I'm going to go home. I don't know. Do more at the basketball game. didn't see any effort didn't see any effort on her part at all and the thing is she wasn't even
Starting point is 01:08:01 one of the ones complaining about Zoe stealing time no she just kind of checked out that's a bummer but I will say maybe she just doesn't like grant honestly dude kind of got the vibe that she was like yeah because like at the end she's like you know he just wasn't my guy I'm like I don't think you really cared I don't think she cared but I felt bad for Ella because she was crushed at first I'm like all right you've only known the guy for like a week but when she pulls herself together and she was like talking to the camera she's like I'm okay my guys I was like oh she's really sweet you get you it's a handwritten letter you monster what I thought the letter was like a very nice handwritten letter and everything I thought it was a nice personal touch just didn't work out
Starting point is 01:08:41 I thought a little too late but who I thought that the the letter could have gotten her some more time over like I thought so made the move she did make the move at the game yeah Dina I would take L over Dina and Dina's on my team mm-hmm Ella seemed really nice when when she left I was like oh that was sad yeah there was a few that like I just don't really understand I'll run through the ones that I don't really get why they're still there Dean is definitely one of them I don't think that she really did anything Bailey I don't know I I me personally I probably have been like I don't know you're all over the place
Starting point is 01:09:19 there's a lot going on here yeah but I think that because again I think she being that vulnerable and open i think that that got her one more week because also but like rebecca going home doesn't make any sense and i guess that just goes back to he thought that he trusted her and then she came on too strong he's like oh nope not going to do this that was my thought process there yeah i mean seraphina we didn't see a lot from i don't know if there's more behind but not seeing a lot doesn't mean they had a bad showing yeah i know yeah i probably would replace seraphina with ella but otherwise i guess it's okay beverly was all right yeah Chloe prisa yeah I don't know it's a I want to you know what when there's that many
Starting point is 01:10:00 women in the house and there's a lot of stars out there it's just tough I but I think you could have gotten rid of Parisa but I also don't want her to leave yet yeah I think she's gonna be good TV like I don't want to get rid of very good TV her her her Dina and Allie Joe all together is gonna be great I think you need to keep around in there even if you're not like into them grant just for like the sake of the season i think that there's good tv there that we want to see but let's go over the teams so we only lost i lost one you didn't lose any i lost elitia let's run through our teams so that everybody knows steels team is ali joe zoe juliana
Starting point is 01:10:41 carolina and dina yep my team left is rose alex natalie and letia yes so you need to draft one more I do I'm crossing out so the remaining the remaining bench is Serafina Beverly Bailey Chloe
Starting point is 01:11:03 and Parisa yeah this is tough dude I know this is this one by the way this could be the one this could be the pick that makes it breaks you yep
Starting point is 01:11:16 all right so I'm going to replace Alicia with Alicia Alicia. Alicia? It's Christina. Who cares? She's off anyway.
Starting point is 01:11:29 I'm going to throw Serafina in there. All right. Seraphina. Welcome to Team Goots. All right. Okay. I like how we stack up. I've got some wild cards on my team.
Starting point is 01:11:41 I know that. I'm okay with that. You'll be all right, though. I got some good players on my team, too. And you need some wild cards to mix it up. You've got a solid. That's a formidable crew. it is this could be tough it's gonna be gonna be a slog till the end brother i know i know well the
Starting point is 01:11:59 tough parts when people start really going down then we gotta we run out of bench players oh i know you don't know what that's like i only had one left you still have like four yeah but then it started dwindling down it got a little closer at the end you know it got close at the end but yeah i really hope i take this one it's been off all day no sorry you got anything else nope Well, that's our show.
