Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, no more murders for the year. We got to wait another year for the murder, but interesting season. So we have to wait another year because they're going to do the Normies one. I don't know when that's going to air, but that gets recorded in the summer. So we might only have to wait like six or seven months until we get into it. That's actually a good point. And we're both applying for the Normies one. So cross your fingers.
Starting point is 00:00:25 I hope one of us gets on. Yeah, I think one of us should at least get on there. They should bring both of us. and then we act like we don't know each other until somebody's like, oh, I know who those guys are, and then we're completely fucked and we get voted out right away. I've thought about this. I know now, because I know you.
Starting point is 00:00:39 I would go in there very, very, very untrustworthy of you. Yeah. That's a fair point. That's a really good idea. Like, oh, you know him and back, fuck that guy. Steele votes me out the first chance he gets. I would try to because you're going to try to vote me out. I know how you operate. As there's a drive in a deep left field by Castellanos, it will be a little.
Starting point is 00:01:01 Oh man, it's 8 o'clock. And so that'll make it a... I don't need the spotlight. I shine just fine. Hi, I'm karma. And yes, I am a bitch. Brov Bros. Good evening, everybody.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Welcome back to another episode of Brav Bros. Your favorite podcast from The Bros. For everyone. For whoever wants to listen, I'm your co-host, Steele Russell. Join back in the stew for the first time this year. Shooter McGuter. We were here at early January, but yeah. I don't worry.
Starting point is 00:01:33 Yeah. Just a little bit. It was just before the first snowfall. Oh, yeah, because then I went to Cali. You went to Cali during the first snowfall. Okay. Still like two months. It's been a long time.
Starting point is 00:01:42 It's been a while. Yeah. I think I operate better when I could smell you. Yeah, me too. I just need your scent. It's pheromones, mostly. Yeah. Like majority pheromones.
Starting point is 00:01:51 But we are here to discuss the finale of Traders. It was a good season. There was, you know, some notes, obviously. The roundtables could have been a little bit more exciting. The faithfuls probably could have done a bit of a better job. But all in all, it was entertaining. And that's what we're looking for is entertainment. Now, before we dive into this last episode, I guess we'll try to not spoil.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Does it matter anymore? I don't think so this is the thing. It's now we're recording this on Monday. It won't be out until tomorrow at least. If you haven't watched it over the weekend, then you don't know what happened. And you've somehow avoided spoilers. I'm very happy for you. Stop listening right now.
Starting point is 00:02:31 And then go watch it and then come back because we can't. And honestly, you shouldn't even need spoilers to understand what happened. And we tried to do the little tango the other day when we were doing this last week about how it could turn out differently than what we thought. Of course, it's never going to turn out differently than what you thought. The nails were already set in the coffin. Obviously, that's kind of where we start too. But it didn't really matter because at the end of the day, these faithfuls were terrible. Rob was playing a pretty good game.
Starting point is 00:02:57 He ended up doing the only thing that made any sense at the end. And it worked out in his favor. So what did you expect, honestly? Uh-huh. That's exactly the way it went. There was a sparkle of hope here and there, but quickly, quickly tampered out by Rob, honestly. He actually did a good job with damage control. He really did, honestly.
Starting point is 00:03:15 That was the whole thing, too, because, yeah, there were some questions going into the very ends. Like, how is he going to play this? Is it going to be Rob and Eric with Mara still there? Are they going to be able to get Johnny? and Tara both out. Is there some crazy circumstance of which Mara somehow considers flipping?
Starting point is 00:03:32 No, but maybe there's something in there. We have to at least see how that plays out. And it was pretty clear. And obviously, and the producers and editors did as much as they possibly could to give us that reasonable doubt. But it was never going to turn out any differently. No, but let's jump in.
Starting point is 00:03:46 And like you said, we start out right where we left off. That's Mark getting into the coffin. Mark dies. We find out immediately, which was, I believe, the right move. And anti-climactic as shit. Extraordinarily. Love you, Mark.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Bye, Mark. It was like 10 seconds. Like, I know it did feel like we waited longer to get to this episode to see who was murdered. By the time the episode started, I'm like, oh, yeah, we still have to do this murder. Cool. And it's Mark. Okay, what's Mark going to say on his way to the coffin? Or is he going to get like a post-exit interview?
Starting point is 00:04:18 No? Nope. Nope. Just nothing. We're just moving on. Great. Like the scene from Elf where buddies is like floating off in the beginning. It's like, bye, buddy.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Hope you find your dad. That was the same vibe. Yeah, that was it. And Mark honestly said in that moment about as much as he got to say at the reunion, which was nothing. Yeah, that's a shame. I like Mark Ballas. I think, you know, is he the best faithful?
Starting point is 00:04:39 No. No, but he probably did get shafted. Like, now that I'm... Yeah, exactly. And he's been really like going after that on TikTok talking about how there was a lot more. There were more discussions. He was doing a lot more. He was working with other people that didn't really get a whole lot of screen time like
Starting point is 00:04:54 Steven, but they didn't show it. the end of the day. We questioned it a little bit here and there because they were showing us a lot, but at the same time, they were showing us really stupid moves and stupid thoughts. So I didn't think that there was much validity to it, but now after all is said and done and we're looking back, yeah, they probably did cut a lot of stuff. Yeah, and I'm sure that is pretty common. I know I would be on that train as well. Like, if I looked like an idiot on TV and I was like, I really wasn't that dumb. Yeah. Like, I would be on TikTok right now. You're trying to explain that I'm not that dumb. That I'm not that.
Starting point is 00:05:26 stupid, which would probably in turn make me look stupider, but whatever. Stupid is the stupid does. Forrest Gump quote. It is, yeah. How are we never had a forest? We've never had a Forrest Gump quote in this podcast. Gen. I.
Starting point is 00:05:43 No, we got two. I was running. Lieutenant Dad, Ice Cream. Anyway, did you watch that again in like your later years? Yeah. It does not hold up very well. What do you mean? Really?
Starting point is 00:05:55 I do think that it's one of those movies that plays better on TNT on a Sunday afternoon when there's no sports on. That's a good point. Because you can tune it on like, I don't know, halfway through the movie and then you get some commercials where you can do other shit. You can just, it's one of those like, I don't know, what's the word for it where there's just like a bunch of different stories in one. Anthology? Anthology. It's basically an anthology series. Yeah, that's, I mean, more or less. But yeah, I watched it straight through and I was like, huh, doesn't hit quite the same as it.
Starting point is 00:06:25 did when I was young. But anyway, we're at breakfast, not, not with Forrest. We're at breakfast and Eric walks in first and then you got Mara, Rob, Johnny, Tara. Now, Mark is obviously gone, so we're at the final, what is it, four at this point? Is there somebody else? Did I miss them? Five. Yeah, who did I miss? Mara, Eric, Rob, Johnny, and Tara. Maybe I just can't count. I I don't know. Possibly. But anyway, they are all trying to deliberate and figure out who is the trader. How many traders are left?
Starting point is 00:06:56 Obviously, they don't know for a fact that there's still two. But the Rob and Eric suspicion is carrying over into this one, obviously. Johnny and Tara, their mission is to get, this whole episode, which is so funny, considering she did nothing all season long, the whole entire game comes down tomorrow. Yeah. Can Johnny and Tara flip Mora away from Eric and Rob's camp? No. No.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Simple answer, absolutely not. But I think it's really just, it just shows you how this season went, the fact that the two people who have openly said in confessionals and even walking around the castle that they're terrible at this. They don't know what they're doing. They're really bad at this game. They're the two who actually land on the right subjects. And it makes no sense, but it makes all the sense of the world. Yep. They're the ones that are doing the math problems wrong, getting the same.
Starting point is 00:07:48 right answers. It's very funny to watch. But in my head, I had hope still going into this episode because when you really break it down, and again, I am always very upfront with the hindsight thing. I understand it's probably a lot different when you're there. I'm not saying that I would have been the best traitor of faithful ever. I'm just saying watching it from my perspective at this juncture, okay, faithfuls are getting their ass kicked. Sure, they've lucked into getting some traders out, but they haven't been doing it based on, like, great strategy or anything. So in my head, I'm like, isn't Rob at this point, like the most obvious answer?
Starting point is 00:08:25 You would think so, and you would think that we would see more of the same conversations from last week and the week prior where people did kind of piece that together and Natalie was spearheading that before she got sent away. Like, you would have thought, okay, let's use logic here. We finally got to a point where somebody questioned Rob and she gets voted out right away and says that she's a faithful. Yeah. what are you going to do now guys oh johnny and tara clearly it's got to be rob they even put it
Starting point is 00:08:54 together that it's rob and eric because eric's not talking either they know that it's not mara but they know that mar is the one that they have to flip so this is actually as far as a good chance i guess of the best chance they had but still not a great chance because they had the right answer and i guess that probably did make johnny and tara and they talked about it a little bit at the reunion about how they were happy at least that they got it but they were so late to get it that it doesn't make any sense to me. The other part of it is I always hate when people don't watch these shows
Starting point is 00:09:21 and I'm really interested to see, you know, if we don't get selected, how the Normie show ends up. Because in my mind, you added a secret trader. You guys lucked into getting Donna out, but in reality, Donna was just playing a terrible game and she got voted out.
Starting point is 00:09:34 She was a traitor. Rob led you to Candace and Lisa. Just start doing the math there. Candice led you to Rob. Correct. Candice led you to Rob. But at that point, you should know, okay, we've got at least one trader left,
Starting point is 00:09:45 maybe two if they flip somebody. every person who has the opportunity to flip to a trader or go home is going to become a trader. So just do the math. There's two traders left. Somebody said in the comments that one season somebody did deny and got killed in lieu of. What a loser. I know, right? Like, what a dork.
Starting point is 00:10:03 But yeah, I guess I did. Unbelievable. What a loser. But either way, the math always, it just should always check out. And for whatever reason, it doesn't because people don't watch these shows. And they're not as accustomed to how the game is supposed to be. be played. So it is kind of funny to watch that. But this is, I guess, the best chance that we're going to have with Johnny saying it's got to be Rob and Eric and we have to get Mara. Like,
Starting point is 00:10:25 that is the right answer. The problem is you're dealing with Mara, who's been wrapped up with Rob the entire time. Yep. That's the biggest issue. You're going to have to get her off of Team Rob. I was just, I thought maybe Tara and Johnny had enough, not even evidence at this point. Just, I think you lean heavy on the fact that it's like, look, no one's questioned this guy. And he's at the end of the game. And we're giving him credit for being the best faithful ever. But everyone else at some point has been under the gun at that table other than Mara. Right.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Like Tara's been questioned. Johnny almost went home. And that almost got Tara sent home because then they found out they were so close together. Eric's been under speculation. Rob has not really. So like I guess that was where I was. They weren't. I feel like they should have pressed way harder.
Starting point is 00:11:11 And Tara said this too. I don't remember if it was in the finale or if she was talking at the reunion. She thought that she had Mara and she said, I trusted you implicitly. I trusted you 100%. I walked out of the conversation that we had in the castle before the round table thinking you were going to help us get Rob. And when I'm watching that, I'm like, no, she really didn't, honestly. You could have pressed a lot harder and given her an ultimatum because she opened up multiple times throughout this episode saying, I just don't want to look dumb if it is Rob.
Starting point is 00:11:39 And she said that to Tara. Then press that and say, okay, do you want to look really dumb or do you want to win? give her that. And if she still goes with Rob, that's on her, which she ultimately is going to do. But at the same time, at least you're exhausting all possibilities here. I think they were never going to win this anyway with two traders left. The odds were stacked against them severely. It was just not going to work. But you do have to give it that last ditch effort.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Now, the funny thing is, as we go into, which we always know, that last episode is always going to be a huge prize pot. We're going to pump up them numbies. A hundred thousand dollars. And we're going through. And the funny thing is, and they always do this, and I always really like this, especially when we're watching at home, when they're doing the quiz type of thing, where it's like, who was the first person to have a cough and put in their plot? I don't remember, but I'm trying to rack my brain. I'm like, wow, they're actually really good at this. It happened like, wow, they're actually really good at this. I always forget that aspect of it. I'm like, damn, these people are so much smarter that I'm giving them credit for. It's like, no, this actually happened a couple days ago, so they do remember. Yep, exactly. They say weeks on the show, but they're only there for consecutive days. Alan arrives in the breakfast room. Obviously, everyone's still speculating.
Starting point is 00:12:49 He's dressed for a funeral, a very chic funeral. He looks fantastic. Always does. I'm going to miss him off. That's one of the biggest things that I miss when the show goes away is Alan. Yeah. So. And Traders UK doesn't use Alan.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Did you know that? I told you I watched the whole celebrity season. Yeah. It was good, right? Yeah, different gameplay, apparently. But anyway, as you said, we go to the big mission and there's a chance for a ton of money. You know, we're going to end with a splash. and we go and there's a helicopter just like last year.
Starting point is 00:13:17 Mara's jacked. Marr's jacked. I was going to say Joneson. Oh. And then Jacked came out. Jacked up. That's different. Jack Johnson?
Starting point is 00:13:30 Mara's Jack Johnson about the helicopter. Yeah, sitting waiting and wishing, hoping to get some prizes. She's all guest up. And Rob is going to go on the helicopter and how it works. Like you said, we drop something out, a little card out of the helicopter. you scan the card on the chest. If you get it right, green, you get money, whatever. And of course, the big reveal at the end is Rob has to jump out of the chopper,
Starting point is 00:13:52 swim over to land with 10 seconds left, and he gets it on three seconds. Sure. But that's it. It was a hell of a swim, though. Yeah, that looked horrible. Yeah. And the water was like 20 degrees. Yeah, it didn't look fun.
Starting point is 00:14:05 But the important thing is not so much the mission. They do bank a ton of cash, but the important thing here is all the side talking going on before and after. And again, it's the same thing. Because in one car at this point, on the way back, you have Mara, Eric, and Rob, which is the worst thing that could have happened for Johnny and Tara, especially because we're headed to the round table. Especially because Rob also picked Mara to go in the helicopter with them.
Starting point is 00:14:27 True. To further isolate her even more. Yep, 100%. But car number one with Tara and Johnny are just trying to figure out how to get Mara. Now, like you said, Tara does have a decent relationship with Mara, which unfortunately, I think bites her in the ass. I think because she thought they were closer, she didn't press. Right.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Because she felt confident in their friendship. That's a shame because on the flip side, Mara tells Eric and Rob that Tara is on to him. Yep. So as we head to the castle, now Rob and Eric know that they have to turn it up a little bit to try to make sure they don't sway Mara. So we have a whole thing that could have been much better for them. But I don't know how you pick the cars. I'm assuming that Rob probably is like, come on, Mara, get in the car. Yeah, I'm not really sure because they didn't.
Starting point is 00:15:11 show the car selection as much as anything else. But getting back to the castle, I mean, really Rob, and I'm not even going to put Eric in this category, but Rob just has to play defense. Yeah, yeah. You don't have to worry about flipping Johnny or Tara. You just have to make sure that you can maintain Mara's relationship and Mara's trust in you. And that shouldn't be too difficult, as we see. It's not too difficult. But it's more just, yeah, let's just monitor the situation. We'll see how often she goes to talk to Johnny, to talk to Tara. We'll try to break it up here in there. I'm sure there's some gameplay into it where you'll see that Mara is over there sitting
Starting point is 00:15:42 in a room with Johnny or Tara. Maybe you walk by just to try to put a little pressure on him to say, hey, don't talk too much about it. Hey Mara, I see what you're doing. Don't do this. And that should be enough. It should be. But we get to the castle and Tara and Johnny are now I'm glad they actually had this conversation
Starting point is 00:15:59 just because we've seen it go left every other time. And I know statistically with the people still there that they can't fuck this one up. But they're like, we're not wavering. It's Eric and Rob, ready, break. I'm like, all right, guys, please don't waver because you've done this before. I don't know why you would waver, but hey, they didn't at least when we get to the roundtable. From the parents behind law and order comes a mystery the whole family can enjoy.

Starting point is 00:18:28 But right before the roundtable is when Tara pulls Mara. And when they go into the other room, Tara's now trying to make sure, and I do think because of what I just said, that she thought they were closer. I do think she left this conversation being like, oh, we got her. Yeah. Because Marr's like, I would never. I would never vote for you either.
Starting point is 00:18:51 You're not going to vote for me. I'm not going to vote for you. I actually give Mar a credit in this scene. And I also give her credit later when she's skeptical on Eric, when Rob her and Eric are talking. And she, like, Rob actually picks up on the fact that, like, oh, I think she's lying right now. She's the same shit to me earlier.
Starting point is 00:19:06 I got to make sure that she's all my team. And the way that even describes her, like, she's my queen of the chessboard. It's like, yeah, kind of. Yeah, kind of. I don't know if it was completely intentional. It may have been. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:17 I give Rob a lot of credit for the game that he played, but it did come down to Mara. But back to giving Mara credit, I thought she handled herself well with Tara because I can see why Tara was like, oh, I got her. Like, it was enough. But I haven't seen her play like that the entire game.
Starting point is 00:19:35 No, and honestly, with there only being four people, or five people left at this point, she's going to actually have to try to play. And I think this is the most that other people have come to her to try to talk about voting. Whereas what we've seen pretty much the entire season is a group of faithfuls and maybe one or two traders are mixed in there are all sitting around the kitchen table talking. They're all sitting around. And then it's like, okay, yeah, I'll vote with you guys. I'll vote with you guys.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Now you're the only one left. And I don't think that Mara put together that she's the swing vote. I don't think that she realized that. I think she realized, well, I'm going to be with Rob the whole time. I think she didn't really know what Eric was going to do because Eric still wasn't speaking up. That was the other thing that he was doing the whole time. And the other funny thing that comes from all of this is, yes, like you said, Tara goes back to Johnny.
Starting point is 00:20:18 Like, I think we got Mara. Like, I'm not really sure, but I think we got Mara. And we have to go after Eric right now or Rob right now. And we'll figure out how it goes when it comes to the round table. When Mara goes to talk to Rob, when Rob says, I think she's lying to me right now, she also starts casting some speculation on Eric to Rob. Yep. To Rob.
Starting point is 00:20:36 So that plants a seed for later because now it's like, oh, shit. I actually did think that you were going to go with this whole thing. As I kept saying, it's Johnny and Tara. I don't have to worry because there's not going to be confirmation at the end of this roundtable. Instead, she throws out there. Eric's a little suspicious. It's like, okay, I'm made. I got end game.
Starting point is 00:20:55 I have full end game. I don't even have to do the song and dance at the end where it's like, do I, don't I, do I don't I? You already have some speculation on Eric. So we might have to get him out if it comes down to it or if I just want to use that option at the end. So it works out really well for Rob because not. only does Mara, yes, she might be quote unquote lying to him, but I don't think he really thinks in this moment that she might be voting for him at the roundtable. I don't think he's worried about that one bit. No. But it's more just like, like hurry up and wait. Like, let's just get this
Starting point is 00:21:23 over with. Let's get the roundtable done with because I know that Eric's not going to turn on me. If you confirm at the round table that you're not going to turn on me either, we're good. I'm done. I won. Yeah. I solo win, which all the pieces kind of fell into place along the way. And, you know, it's a mixture of he did play a good game. But it's also, you got to be lucky at the right times. And he was. And, like, things kind of came up, Rob. But we get to the round table.
Starting point is 00:21:46 Eric leads the whole thing off. And I didn't mind this play. You know, he's like, you know, you guys are coupled with the Love Island crew. We got the Olympians over here. Like, I'm kind of solo right now. And that will explain away why he's been so quiet. Right. Doesn't explain away all the speculation.
Starting point is 00:22:02 And everybody starts going in. Now we get the Rob comments. We get. the Eric comments. And the whole thing is can Tara and Johnny swing Mara? But that's the problem. And I think that's why this roundtable was not. This should have been a knockout, dragout fight or knock down dragout.
Starting point is 00:22:22 It should have been pressing Rob so hard that maybe Mara sees something. But I think the conversation beforehand, and here's the credit for Mara, I think that stayed Tara enough and Johnny to not really. I thought they were going to go full fucking throttle. They should have. And maybe they just don't have it in them to do it. Yeah. That was the other thought that I had that kind of crept in where maybe these aren't the people to go full throttle.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Not again, we haven't really seen a full throttle roundtable this whole season. And yeah, you could say a couple of people got voted out that may have pushed that. We saw Natalie last week, but that was Natalie's last ditch effort. We haven't seen like a full throttle aside from Rob going after Rita and Rob going after Candice, which was traitor on traitor crime. The rest of it, no one faithful. stood up except for Colton, I guess, who really was going after one person or two people at any time. So maybe they just don't have it in them. That was my one thought. I don't know if it was as much we have more on our side. Like we just have to see how this plays out and just throw as much evidence out there
Starting point is 00:23:21 as possible. They just aren't capable. And then we'll just take the chance. They might not just be capable. Yeah. Interesting. See, when I look at it and the way that they went, I don't like this defense. And I think it's bad news, especially late in the game. I know 99.99% that she's a faithful. Right. But you could say that, like, Mara knows that about Rob. Right. Right.
Starting point is 00:23:44 So, like, I don't love when we play the game of, I know she's not, so I'm going to go after you. It's like, just focus on them because you don't know 100%. And that seems like a stupid thing to, like, hammer home. Like, I'm so confident about these two. Guys, you've been wrong pretty much all season until now. Yeah. So leave her out of it and go after Rob. Get Mara to buy into Rob.
Starting point is 00:24:05 That's all that you guys should be doing, and they really don't press enough. Unfortunately, the only thing that they did do, this was a good move. And I'll give Tara credit for that, is she tells Mara that Eric said your name on the way back. That was a good shot there, but again, you needed more to further it. And they ran out of time to talk. Yeah, they ran out of time to talk. And honestly, the other side of the defense, if you will, going after Johnny didn't even really need to be done. It was already kind of done.
Starting point is 00:24:36 You know that Eric and Rob are going to vote for Johnny. It was mostly just Rob playing a little bit of defense and then casting it back on Johnny and Tara. He really didn't have to do anything because even in this moment, they're talking to Eric, like they're spending too much time on Eric. Talking about other things. And you guys went in there going for Rob. And that's the main thing to do if you're going to swing it. Or you have that discussion with Mara beforehand. Like, hey, I heard you have some speculation about Eric.
Starting point is 00:25:01 Let's talk about that. Get Eric out of here. And then you get Eric out of there. Yeah, you don't know if he's a traitor or faithful right away. But at least then after that, maybe you have a chance because it's two on two. You might have a chance to be able to swing this one way or another. I don't know what it would come down to if it's the four of them sitting out there and they're casting into the fire to see who's going to go home or who's not.
Starting point is 00:25:20 Whatever may have happened, could have happened, but it didn't play out that way. And they didn't really need to do a whole lot to convince Mara to vote for Johnny. Well, unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on who you're voting for, Eric votes for Johnny. Johnny votes for Eric. Rob votes for Johnny. Tara votes for Eric. And Mara votes with Rob for Johnny.
Starting point is 00:25:41 So Johnny, he gets whacked. Tara, you could tell, is completely blindsided. She's like, oh, my God, I thought we had this whole thing. I think she also recognizes like, well, I'm fucked. Yep. Because at that point, she actually should know 100%. Like, okay, it is Rob and Eric. Yes.
Starting point is 00:25:56 Like, there's no more speculation. I'm sure she did. Yeah. Yeah. So she knows in that moment, like, well, now I'm cooked. And Johnny bounces. And the rest of the episode goes pretty much how you think it would go. It's just Tara trying to spin Mara trying to say, I think it's Eric, I think it's Rob.
Starting point is 00:26:12 And you're watching Mara have this internal battle, this internal struggle in many confessions where she's, I felt so bad. Because she's like, if it turns out to be Rob, I'm going to feel so stupid. I was like, oh, man, you're going to feel so stupid. Yeah, she still feels stupid. And the reunion filmed like months later, and she still felt very stupid about this whole. thing. But I mean, you knew what was going to happen and the way that it works out is cast it into the fire if it fires up red or fires up green, depending on what you vote for. Everybody's going to vote for let's try to banish again. Let's just try to do this whole thing over again. It was already
Starting point is 00:26:47 done. We're going to go for Tara right now. All three of them go for Tara. This is where it gets a little interesting at least. This was interesting. Because there's three left. And Mar and Eric, happy. Cool. Let's make it green. I think I'm happy with the people that we have left. I trust you guys. No, Mara went red. Oh, Mara did go red. Yeah, Mara did go red. So Mara and Rob probably did, and maybe it was enough, like I said earlier, where
Starting point is 00:27:09 Mara comes to Rob and says, I think it might be Eric. Let's see how this goes. You don't see any side conversations about this? I think that was enough, maybe a glance that we missed. Yeah. It's like, yeah, okay. Yeah, we're going to get him out too. And it works out perfectly because Eric is blindsided.
Starting point is 00:27:23 He was genuinely upset. He was genuinely devastated. And that was it. I mean, it was enough for both of them to go red. you know what's going to happen. You're out of here, buddy. I think I feel confident. We're good, right guys?
Starting point is 00:27:35 Cool. We're good. Poor Mara. Yeah, dude. Just unbelievable. And it's so funny watching this from the third party perspective because we have no skin in the game. Nope. But watching her face just fall apart waiting and she even said this at the reunion.
Starting point is 00:27:48 I was still waiting for like 30 seconds after you said traitor to be like I'm just fucking around. Yep. Nope. Didn't play out that way. Sorry, Mara. Yeah, dude. I felt really bad. But at the end of the game.
Starting point is 00:27:59 It's a game at the end of the day, not the end of the game. So, like, that's what I remind myself throughout it, because I do think that a lot of people, and I'm always talking about the psychology of these shows, and when you're in these shows, especially the ones where you're sequestered, like a bachelor, a bachelorette, something like this. I know for a fact, like, it fucks with your head. So, like, I know they're not thinking like they would think if they're out in real life. But at the same time, the people that get too emotionally involved in the game,
Starting point is 00:28:28 and then get upset at people playing the game. That never makes sense to me because I thought Mara handled it really well. I'm not talking about her. She was like, you know what? At the end of the day, it's a game. You played well, whatever. And Rob's like, yeah, totally, right? You're on my team.
Starting point is 00:28:42 But all the people that get, like, so butt hurt when they get betrayed. It's like, I get it to a certain extent, but you can't play with that much emotion. And I think when it comes down to the end with the Rob and Eric thing, Rob says it perfectly. I'm going to give $100,000 to a guy I met three weeks ago. And by three weeks, he means like last week. Yeah, pretty much last week. So, yeah, it's a no-brainer when you put it like that.
Starting point is 00:29:09 The only qualm that I have at the end of this episode where I've seen this before, they'll usually have other people out there to like, quote-unquote, congratulate the winner. And all they did was just have Rob and Allen talking. I think it's because Alan has a crush on them. It probably is. But I did want to see, and obviously Mar is devastated. I want to see what Eric's doing. I want to see what Tara's up to.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Johnny, they're all still in the castle. Like, they haven't left yet. So show him walking in or have all of them sitting outside waiting for Rob to come out and celebrate his solo victory. That would have been awesome because I want to see what they look like. I want to see what they do. And yeah, you get a little bit of that at the reunion, but they've had so much time to get over this. And Eric says it at the reunion, too. Like, it took me a couple of days to get over it, but I'm never going to trust anybody again.
Starting point is 00:29:53 It's a funny line, but it is what it is. I want to see what their faces look like right in that moment. Watch Rob come out. Watch the guy who just ruined all of your hopes and dreams come out and celebrate and look at all of his money in front of them. But you know what's going to happen? If that did happen, they would see his beautiful face. We're not mad at you. He's just playing the game.
Starting point is 00:30:11 He's mad at that. Look at him. Look at those guns. I just would have loved to have that little thing. And look, the way that it plays out at the reunion is, God, it's kind of stupid, honestly. It was, I always look forward to reunions for these shows. because I do want to see what's going on. And like I said before,
Starting point is 00:30:27 it takes so long to get to the reunion that people aren't really feeling the same way, except for Candace, apparently, who just took so much offense to the way that Rob played the game. She ran the whole reunion. There were 50 people out on that stage, only like six of them talked.
Starting point is 00:30:42 It was ridiculous the way that it played out. And honestly, I don't know. Andy was running the reunion. I think he did a good job, and Rob had a lot of good answers. We find out that Rob has a girlfriend. Now he's been dating a girl for two months, so that's kind of right back in Mara's face.
Starting point is 00:30:54 They weren't hooking up supposedly in the castle. You can't convince me otherwise. I don't believe it. And you've got Rino on one hand who's doing ads with Rob and taking advantage of the fact that she was on traitors. She's doing like Wendy's ads and whatever else might be going on with Rob. Then you have Candace who's still so butt hurt about this whole thing, trying to prove her point that Rob made his decision early in the game that he was going to get rid of everybody and he was going to win by himself. One, so what. Two, that's not how it played out.
Starting point is 00:31:23 No. I'm sorry. It's not. And Rob was like, what do you want me to do? The writing was on the wall. It's what we've been saying the whole time. The writing was on the wall for Rina. I need to separate myself from her.
Starting point is 00:31:32 I can't defend her in front of other people when I haven't been defending her the whole time. So Rina's gone. I separated myself immediately. You then took it upon yourself to start talking about me because you were mad about the Rinnah thing. I have to separate myself from you. Better yet, I have to leave the charge against you to get you out. It's not my fault that the traitor or the faithfuls didn't pick up on the fact that you were voting for me. Like, it's just not Rob's fault, but Candice was still just, like, so butt-heard about this whole thing.
Starting point is 00:31:58 And then the rest of the reunion was just kind of useless with Portia talking a bunch. Yeah, Rapaport arguing with Porsche. Johnny and Tara were calling in from the Olympics. And then Johnny and Rapaport get into it. And it was just more of, like, the Michael Rapaport show, which, you know, funny or not, it's just he's an idiot. Porsche was on the show for 30 seconds. She's talking way too much. You don't hear from Stephen.
Starting point is 00:32:20 You don't hear from Mark more of the same that we saw the whole season. and it's pretty much over in a blink of an eye. Yeah, and again, like, I get, you know, and Candace is a competitor, as we know, like she cares a lot about things that she's involved in, but I don't know. I will never buy into the, I don't like the way you played. I don't really care. It doesn't matter. He won.
Starting point is 00:32:43 Yeah, it's a game. This is a game called Traders. So he betrayed you as a traitor. Yep. So that'll never land when people make that argument. I don't like the way you played. Well, you lost. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:54 What do you want to do? There's nothing we can do at this point. But, yeah, we'll wait and see about the normie season. Hopefully we will be on it. And then you'll see me raising that big bag of money at the end of the whole thing. And Shooter's grave. I'll dig your grave for you. That's fine.
Starting point is 00:33:13 Murder you. If we were both traitors, though, we get voted out. Somebody would be like, I know who you guys are after you. That's my only worry is. Like, I would love to go into that castle and be like, hey, oh, yeah, yeah, I just, I work in finance. I don't, you know, I watch this a lot, but, you know, big fan of the show. And then if somebody's like, oh, you have a podcast about this. Oh, you know what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:33:35 You're a traitor. Good point. It's good point. It's good point. Too easy. The moment you've been waiting for is here. GMC's truck month is on. For a limited time, get zero percent financing for 72 months on the 2026 GMC Sierra 500 crew cab pro

I like to be prepared. That's why I remember 988, Canada's Suicide Crisis Helpline. It's good to know, just in case. Anyone can call or text for free confidential support from a train responder anytime.
Starting point is 00:34:59 988 suicide crisis helpline is funded by the government in Canada. Let's get to some questions. First one up from Georgia Fuller. Was this season a perfect representation of how society works? I don't know what that means. I'm not so sure I understand that one either. Is everybody traders? Oh, maybe.
Starting point is 00:35:20 Is that what they can't trust anybody? I don't know. That might say more about you, Georgia, than it does about us. Yeah, I don't know. From Myra Hellwig. would you have betrayed Eric or split the pot if you were Rob? I probably want to split it because I'm just, that's me. I think I would have betrayed him, one, because he wasn't a traitor the whole time.
Starting point is 00:35:41 And like, I would probably do the mental gymnastics of like, I've been here since day one. I deserve it more than you. So see ya. Yeah, if I had to guess you would betray. I don't think I would have if I didn't know for sure that the other person was going to vote for that. Yeah. I mean, that's the thing. Like, again, is it kind of grimy?
Starting point is 00:35:59 sure, but it's also a really good gameplay. So, like, what are you going to do? I mean, you just bet the guy. From K. Looker Woods. Shooter, I couldn't help but hope you were doing okay, deciphering the flame colors. Clearly, I wasn't. I don't know why they make it red.
Starting point is 00:36:16 I know, like, traffic lights, red and green, but like, it's tough to tell on things like that. For you? Well, I know that, like, red lights on top, greens on the bottom. You can penalize all of us because you can't see colors. Like, the first time that I encountered one of those. horizontal traffic plates. I was like, what is this?
Starting point is 00:36:31 Did you just get out of your car and leave it at the line? I had to like, I think I was, I saw other cars stopping and then I kind of piece it together. Okay. It's always context for me for colors. If I have no context of where a color is, though, it's going to be tough. Oof. That's how I'm going to get you out in traders. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:36:47 That one. That's the red one. That's the red one. Get them. From Amanda Rocky's mom, at any point did you guys think that Robb was not going to win? Not over the last like five weeks, to be honest. No, like I said last week, I saw a glimmer of hope. There was a way that they could win, but I was not confident that the faithfuls would win, no.
Starting point is 00:37:06 Yeah. From Kate Elfman, for future contestants, do you think it's more advantageous to have seen the show or not? I mean, I think it's more advantageous to have seen the show. Yeah. I think it's just a matter of like you don't want to let on to everybody else that you know the show really well, because then people put it together that you are a good subject for a trader. Yeah, and I could see being completely, you know, blissfully ignorant coming into it being a positive as well. But I think they both have pros and they both have cons.
Starting point is 00:37:40 Yeah. From Al-Al-Alvarez Marr, why did Marr think it was, why did Marr think a pinky promise was valuable in a show called The Traders? I don't know. She did it the whole season. Yeah. Yeah. I don't really have a response. Yeah, me neither.
Starting point is 00:38:01 We feel bad for Mara. We do feel bad for Mara. And I enjoyed Mara on the show. I'm going to read this one just because, first off, it was funny, the intro, but from Jamie Gibbs, I sent a DM. It was too long. And then in parentheses, just like Rob probably. Keep it in your pants, Jamie. Come on now.
Starting point is 00:38:21 Good Lord. Yeah, what are we doing here? Dick comment. I guess so. And the question is. think the snake on his arms are long. The question is, doesn't it seem like a bad move on Candace's
Starting point is 00:38:32 even, or Candace's part, even from an outside of the castle standpoint to keep hating on Rob. Everybody loves him right now and Rennie even got a commercial with him. I like Candice, but come on, girl, think about the bigger picture. I agree with that. I think it's crazy that she's still holding such a grudge against him. Just again, like,
Starting point is 00:38:49 it's a game. I know. I will always, always, always, even if I go play and get fucking smoked by the guy sitting next to me right now. I would still, you could betray me at the end for a hundred grand. I'd bet fuck you, dude, but this is just a game. By the way, you're buying new podcast equipment. Yeah, exactly. And last one here from Chavon Beham. Did Eric deserve to win? No. I don't think so. I think if he played a better game as a traitor, if he played a better game as a faithful, then maybe you could have a leg to stand on.
Starting point is 00:39:21 But if he played a better game as a traitor, he would have realized that Rob has a chance to burn him at the end, that he would have planted some seeds elsewhere. Not that I think it would have worked anyway because it's still Mara versus you and Rob. So I don't think he was going to win. The only chance he was going to win was if Rob was feeling generous. Yeah, and I actually thought he did a decent job in the turret and like planning with
Starting point is 00:39:40 Rob. I thought they were on the same page, but at the end of the day, like Rob was still leading the charge. I wouldn't have been mad if Eric Juan. I really liked Eric. I think if you really break down the season, Rob deserved to win. Correct. Because he orchestrated literally from episode one. And he did a good job. Whether you like how he played the game
Starting point is 00:39:56 or not, it's kind of irrelevant. Exactly. He played a great game. So he won the money. Yep. Well, we'll have to see how this one shakes out. I think what they're doing is after the Normies one, they're going to bring back an all-stars. So the all-stars could be really good.
Starting point is 00:40:10 It could be great or bad. It could be great or bad. But I think if they really lean into like the best of like all of the people who have been traders, then it's going to be hard to figure out who's actually a traitor. I like that idea. Because that could be fun. Yeah, we don't need to bring like great faithfuls. No, no.
Starting point is 00:40:25 And there are a few really great faithels that you can throw in there. But I think if you have like the majority of the cast is people who were traders, it'll be a lot harder to decipher. That would be really interesting too because I think they would overthink their way out of the game. Yeah, because they'd be looking around like, all right, we've got Siri Fields here. We've got Rob. We've got Rina. We've got, you know, Pilot Pete, like whoever it might be that was really good in those shows. And then you're looking really like, it could be this person, could be that.
Starting point is 00:40:51 Then you're looking at like Dylan Efron. And you're like, it's probably Dylan Ephron. Yeah. And then, like, well, when I was a traitor, I did this when I was a trader. Yeah, we're going to get a lot of those discussions. Yep. But we'll see if it's All-Stars. But we're looking forward to the Normie season. I think they select. Casting's done this month, right? I think it's next month, I believe. I need to get my application filled out and we'll keep you guys posted on.
Starting point is 00:41:13 We can't. We can't. So if we disappear for a week or two. I wonder if they would let us podcast. Like, we go back to the hotel. I don't see why we couldn't. We're still watching shows. I mean, especially if they made us both traitors. I don't know. I don't know how the sequestering works. I don't either.
Starting point is 00:41:33 I'm not sure what the rules are to that whole thing. But anyway, so that's all I got. You got anything else? Nope. Well, that's our show. Robbros are out of here. The war is over and both sides lost. Kingdoms were reduced to cinders,
Starting point is 00:42:00 an army scattered like bones in the dust. Now the survivors claw to what's left of a broken world, praying the darkness chooses someone else tonight. But in the shadow dark, the darkness always wins. This is old school adventuring at its most cruel. Your torch ticks down in real time.
