Bros & Shows - Yearning for a Carl & Bailey Date Episode (Summer House Full Recap)

Episode Date: March 23, 2026

What's up bros??? We're back after a vacation hiatus to talk about Summer House. What an incredible group we have in the house this summer; while it's obvious the discussion about racial dynamics at t...he end of the episode was much needed and important, we have a pressing matter we'd like to discuss as well - where the hell is the footage of Carl & Bailey's date????? How dare they withhold that beautiful and awkward date from us. Don't worry, we get into it all but we are severely disappointed by what we didn't see! Learn more about your ad choices. Starting point is 00:01:00 You know, I don't say I told you so a lot. but one thing we do get from this episode is confirmation that Ben did want to point Amanda. So, well, we didn't get it from this episode. We got it from the midseason trailer. Told you so. Doesn't count. What do you mean? It doesn't count.
Starting point is 00:01:19 We don't know the context. You know those midseason trailers are tricky. TVD told you so. As there's a drive in a deep left field by Castellanos. Oh man, it's 8 o'clock. And so that'll make it a. I don't need the spotlight. I shine just fine.
Starting point is 00:01:40 Hi, I'm karma. And yes, I am a bitch. Brov Bros. Good afternoon, everybody. Welcome back to the episode of Brov Bros. Your favorite podcast from the Bros. For everybody, for whoever wants to listen, I'm your co-host, Steele Russell,
Starting point is 00:01:54 joined as always by Shooter. Told You Sel McHooder. What's up, dude? Yeah, I'm going to be a stickler on this one. I'm going to make you wait. I'm going to make you wait until I receive. You can say it. You can throw the told you so at me,
Starting point is 00:02:09 but I'm not going to receive the told you so. It's like a tantric told you so. It is a tantric. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, I'm a huge fan of tantric every day.
Starting point is 00:02:18 You know what I'm talking about? Yeah, shooters always in a tantric state. It's very dangerous. But we have a very, very packed episode of Summerhouse here. A lot to cover. A lot went down.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Some very strong conversations were had, some powerful conversations at the end and a lot of stuff in between so let's jump right in i love that we're getting back to silly goofy games we're playing a little spin-the-bottle truth or dare which is fun we get another i've just you know i've been listing the the evidence as we've been going through the season of young benjamin and as we're going through truth there there's one where it's like well for the married people he's like oh whoa no married people left to play. I was like, ah, you're not helping your case here, Ben, at all. Did you see we got a, uh, we got a review last week, basically just telling you to shut up.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Yeah. Accents. Full on one star review. Can't listen to this, especially ladies of London. Steel needs to shut up. So it's not like I do them the whole episode. Ladies of London first episode. You did it the whole guy.
Starting point is 00:03:28 That was so much fun though. Oh, it was fun, was it? It wasn't fun for that person. It wasn't fun for them. Anyway, here's the problem. Okay, here's the problem. Whoever left that comment, you're just emboldening me.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Don't do that. Just don't acknowledge it. Actually, terrible. I know, right? Maybe that person got out Scott free too. They may have like just ended it. Like never listening to this show ever again because they can't stand that guy. And they'll never learn that you've just emboldened and ruined everybody else's day.
Starting point is 00:03:58 Yeah, sorry, guys. You can blame that review for my accents. Yeah. is what it is. But yeah, you know, you are right. That is so funny. The short memory of somebody like Ben to just immediately make a comment about married people, there's only one married group. There's a married couple, one married couple. It's not like you did a generalization. It's not like Lindsay was still, you know, it's Lindsay's married and Carl's fucking married or whoever. And you're like, no, no, no, the married couples have to married couple. And the married couple in question is who you were just getting.
Starting point is 00:04:34 all but heard about because Bailey made a comment about that last night and then he confirmed it the following now what are we doing i don't know i mean what you pretty much said there was no no amanda has to play too that's what he said no one there is thinking like oh no no no i really want to see kyle kiss somebody else no one yes to see that no i personally don't no you just other than jesse him and jesse smooch was nice yeah but we get you know just some some wacky hijing some people are smooching Ben and Bailey, got to say, that was hot and heavy. And I don't know if that was like an anger smooch where there's a lot of like built up resentment there and they just take it out at each other's tongues.
Starting point is 00:05:12 That's kind of the vibe I got. Yeah, there's some tension there. I wonder if it's more on Ben's side because I love Bailey's response to it. Like, no, you know, it's, yeah, it was a good makeout, like whatever. But that guy's a psycho. Yeah, I got the, I'm actually moving on. And it's very funny when you pair that up with the first like four or five episodes of this season.
Starting point is 00:05:32 with her pining after Ben the whole time, just going after him, hoping and praying that he even looks her way. She finally gets a kiss him. She's like, not really going to do much for me, kind of over that guy. Good.
Starting point is 00:05:43 That's actually, that is what I want to see from you. I want you to immediately react to something, say, nope, we're done with that. I'm moving on. Stand firm.
Starting point is 00:05:51 Yeah, we don't see that a lot in Summer House. We see a lot of wishy-washy people. So I like that she drew a boundary. And she's like, no, guys, a lunatic, great kiss. Good enough for me.
Starting point is 00:06:00 We're moving on. And it opens the door for car. And maybe a chance for those two to connect, which makes a lot more sense to me. Like they have that that awkwardness, like that charming awkwardness. You know what I mean? They both kind of show that. So that makes more sense. We didn't even see it.
Starting point is 00:06:16 We get clips from it. Don't get me started. How much? That's such bullshit that we didn't get that date. They're just the producers, whoever edited the video, I think they misread the situation. Like, I know how that dinner went or that lunch, rather. I know how that lunch went. I want to see it all.
Starting point is 00:06:33 I want to leave in the awkwardness. I guarantee you an editor was watching that like, oh, there's not a whole lot we can use here. It's really awkward. Use all of it. Let's just use a clip later? No. Make us uncomfortable.
Starting point is 00:06:44 Put us in a 10 minute scene with the two of them failing to flirt over and over and failing to recognize that this is a date. Like, I guarantee you they were both doing it. We missed out on some incredible material because of that one. I know. And the best part about it would have been the realization midway through all my God, this is a date, watching them change how they're approaching the whole thing. And then both, they're sweating.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Yeah. And they both definitely left. Like, wow, that was the best date I've ever been on. Like, we missed all of that because you guys are assholes, producers. Yeah. We deserve to see that. Severely misread the situation. Yeah, it's a brutal whiff on their part.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Absolutely catastrophic that we didn't get to see that. But back to truth today. This was the funniest fucking thing I've ever seen. West doing what West was doing. And he's clearly, clearly under the influence. And he's like trying to play putzies. He's tried.
Starting point is 00:07:39 And in my head, I'm like, oh, no, all the progress that we've made is going out the window. No, no. I love Sierra rolling with this one.
Starting point is 00:07:49 She's like, look, we're in a weird spot. I acknowledge that. Like, we're flirting. We're not flirting. Yes,
Starting point is 00:07:55 I miss our friendship. I miss our vibe. We're in the way she says it explains their current relationship status perfectly. We're in this weird state of limbo, and it's coming out a bit disorganized and a little crazy. Boom. Perfect.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Yeah. That describes it actually perfectly. And I'm with you. I'm so happy that this didn't boil into something else. It could have been a situation where it's like, okay, we need to get West out of here. Somebody take him away from me. I can't believe that he's doing this right now. Other people in the house could have gotten uncomfortable.
Starting point is 00:08:24 He's looking at Jesse and he's like, hey, fuck you. He goes, and he's like, and he's. He's pinching Sierra. We know what that means. Jesse's uncomfortable, but I don't give a shit if Jesse's uncomfortable. That was funny. It's funny as long as Sierra's okay with it. That's where we are.
Starting point is 00:08:40 That's exactly where we have to be. And I feel like that's kind of the situation that we have really been in. If you want to just completely minimize everything that's going on, that is where we've been with West and Sierra. If Sierra's cool with it, we're cool with it. We're fine with it. We can laugh at it, move on. He was fucking lackout drunk, just unbelievably incoherent.
Starting point is 00:08:58 trying I wish we got to see it because in the beginning of the scene there's a table in between them and then they flashed back up the table's gone and he's there he he he swapped places of that table fast it was probably the most nimble thing he did all night and we didn't get to see that part of it I wanted to see him kind of fumble through that but whatever you know I'm gonna I guess leave editing alone they're not giving us what we want but yeah that's kind of where we are and I like that Sierra recognizes that because it still shows like yeah it's it's a weird place There's a lot that still has to be done, but she's not saying like, all right, like, this is too much. I can't believe he's doing this too fast.
Starting point is 00:09:33 I need to hold him in arms like again. That's not what she said, which would have been completely reasonable if she did that, albeit he was blackout drunk, but that's not an excuse. So go with the punches. Enjoy it. Have some fun, like flirt a little bit and see where it goes. And if it goes nowhere and you guys want to be friends, go for it. If it goes somewhere and you guys want to consider a relationship, you got to have a lot more conversations. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:09:54 So I think the weird state of limbo and it's coming out a bit crazy. disorganized is the best way to put where we're currently at. So I'm glad. I think the reaction also shows you where they really are. I know that's like redundant, but I mean more so there seems to have been this unspoken acknowledgement after the Jesse fiasco of like, okay, I think we both need to acknowledge subconsciously or internally at least that we're both feeling something. We don't know what it is, where it's going, if it's going anywhere, but we can no longer just be like, no, there's nothing there. So I like where we're at, actually.
Starting point is 00:10:28 Yeah. Yeah. It's a good spot. Now, Ben and Bailey, they make amends. I did think that Ben was reaching a little bit here. I don't know if he was trying to reenact the kiss on stairs. I thought so, too. That's what I'm saying by overreaching.
Starting point is 00:10:44 Laying in bed and talking to her about this in her bed, he was flirting. He got the itch. He's like, you know what? Maybe I judged the situation wrong. Maybe she was a good kisser. Maybe this is what I want to do. No, dude, ship's already sailed. You can't yell at somebody and then be like, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:11:02 That was a great kiss. That was a great kiss. What happened before that? Ah, it's all right. Let's talk about it. Let's hash it out. Then we can go back. I know how shows like this work.
Starting point is 00:11:11 I know how everybody else in the house operates. Maybe this will work. It's not going to work with Bailey. I mean, Bailey did a good job of not only talking to us about her ick with Ben and her crush going out the window, but also just showing us in this. seen like yeah yeah obviously i want to get to a better place and i want to allow him to apologize talk about it a little bit and if he's hurt i'm hurt he's hurt whatever it doesn't really matter as long as we can get through it that's great there's no semblance of wow you know he's still
Starting point is 00:11:38 really hot like no we've seen that a million times it never works out i like this stance yep i agree well done paley proud of you now we get to the next morning and kyle tries to shower with the man oh my god no i don't know what no come on come on i'm just going shower with you. I'm not, I don't want to shower with you. Go away. That was a very funny scene. But you get a whole house full of recaps. Everyone's kind of going over the night before, you know, the dudes are letting Wes know what he did. And he's like, oh God. And his breakdown of himself is very funny. He's like, you know, I think I was cringe and like, that's the worst that you could be is cringe. You're not remember it. But on the flip side, Amanda and Sierra
Starting point is 00:12:19 discussing it where it's like, well, maybe I've been too nice to him, this, that, the other. I don't take anything that was said that seriously in regards to this. I think the night before and the confessional from Sierra paints the picture of where we're at. I don't think that it's like we're going to see some dramatic shift in how they're acting now, which is good. And again, shows us like how far we've come in this whole thing because this could have derailed the whole thing. It didn't.
Starting point is 00:12:43 So again, like where we're at. Yeah, no, I really like where we're at. And also for Amanda's, like I can speak to Amanda's motives. She loves West. We can see that. It's portrayed through the screen. and it's portrayed through social media where they hang out all the time. I think in a perfect world,
Starting point is 00:12:58 she would love it if they could get over it and start dating. Like it would be unbelievable for Amanda. So she's going to have his back up into a certain point. And it doesn't seem like it's that bad. But I really don't blame Sierra for going through it. Like, yeah, that was a little uncomfortable. Because honestly, I get it. It's almost like he jumped right back into it.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Like, okay, we had a conversation. We had another conversation. We talked about the Jesse and Sierra thing. That kind of went away. We're back. We're good. And you could think that immediately. like, oh, God, this guy got drunk and he thinks that we're going to hook up again.
Starting point is 00:13:27 I don't want to deal with that because I don't, pretty much what she said to Jesse two episodes ago, I don't want to be a sexual object. I don't want to be somebody that you're just flirting with on the summer house weekends. You got to show me more. So as long as he gets that and it's not, and this is just like a one-off experience, perfect. And I think that's what she's saying essentially when she's talking to Amanda, but she's still coming to grips with it. So I don't really blame her.
Starting point is 00:13:46 No, not at all. Totally get it. And she's well within her right to feel any kind of way about it. But we head back to the city. And Bailey calls Carl and invites him on a little coffee date, which is great, great news. We love to hear that. And again, the fact that we can see this scene is outrageous. And I fucking phone call.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Like, come on. I know. The phone call was great. The phone call was hilarious. Her fumbling through it. Like, yeah, I just thought, like, wow, I really missed Carl. And I was talking about it all weekend. And I just got to fill you in on all the stuff that happened this weekend.
Starting point is 00:14:23 I feel like you missed out. And I feel like if you were there, it would have just been so much better because I could talk to him. And she passes over to Levi where she's talking to Levi about Carl not being there. Like it's all right there. But then when she's talking to Carl, it's like, no, it's not. Like she's once again having a hard time flirting. She's asking you out on a date, but it's in the middle of the day. So it's really a date.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Like we find ourselves in such a gray area. And Carl's response is like, yeah, you know, I think that would be great. Yeah, I drink coffee. The only time that the only time I. I saw you in the city was, it was a Ben's thing, right? Yeah, that's the only time I've ever seen you in the city. We should hang out in the city. Carl, what are you doing, buddy?
Starting point is 00:15:02 She's asking you out on the date. Just be excited. Just be like, oh, yeah, let's do it. I'll pick the spot. We can hang out. Fill me in on everything I want to know. And said, it's like, yeah, wow, I've seen you in the city and we live in the same city. New York City.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Yeah. We should hang out. What? Yeah. This makes sense. How do you watch that conversation on the phone and not say, we need more? I need a whole goddamn episode of this. I want that.
Starting point is 00:15:27 I need that. I don't care what you have to do if you have to put in another episode, whatever. Just give us the whole thing. Yeah, I'm so upset from start to finish. No cuts, no edits, no nothing. Long silences, awkward. Give me all of it. Please.
Starting point is 00:15:41 And please zoom in on both of their faces at the realization finally midway through. It's like, oh, fuck, this is a date. Record scratch. That's so. The Lindsay, too. Like, what? We don't get that? We just get a-
Starting point is 00:15:56 I know. I know. That's the crazier part because that comes back around. But we'll talk more about it in a little while when we get back to the Hamptons. But we get more of KJ and Dara and they're clearly hitting it off. You know, we get to learn more about Dara, born in Boston, very physical kid. He's a lover boy. He was not kidding.
Starting point is 00:16:15 He did not undersell that because- Paul's hard and fast. Yeah. Him on Watch Robbins live looking to the crowd like, yeah, And I say I love each other. I just, I'm obsessed with her. He, like, skirted around a question. Like, who is the nicest person in the house when you first got there?
Starting point is 00:16:32 And he said, Darrah, she wasn't there. You didn't meet her for a couple of weeks. And you're still saying, Jesus, you are head over heels, buddy. I love KJ. I really do. He's such a sweet, sweet man. He's so authentic. I don't question anything he does or says.
Starting point is 00:16:45 I'm like, yeah, that's how you feel. Don't question his motives. I think he's a stand-up gentleman. Really, he's been a great addition. Now, this, this to me was the penultimate conversation. This was it. This was the final nail in the coffin of Kyle and Amanda, in my opinion. I think that this, if you extrapolate this over the next few weeks, it paints the picture of why they ultimately came to the decision to separate because they're talking in their apartment.
Starting point is 00:17:15 Kyle's like, you know, they're talking about sleep. He's like, sometimes I wake up, can't go back to sleep. The funny thing is about these conversations. All Amanda does is highlight why. Why you're stressed, why you're not sleeping. What additions to your life have made your life different, therefore causing you anxiety. He doesn't like hearing that stuff. We've watched this over and over again.
Starting point is 00:17:39 She highlights exactly what she wants, what your issues are, why you're tired, why you're sleepy, why you're stressed, why you're anxious. She tells you all of this. But then you act like you have no idea. idea and we get really into the DJ Convo more so than we really have in the past. Usually we get like one off comments, Amanda takes a dig, Kyle gets upset. That's the setup that we're used to. In this one, we actually have a back and forth of him telling her, hey, this is starting to
Starting point is 00:18:06 become a real thing. And again, their relationship aside, does it make sense? Yes. Kyle being a DJ makes sense. Is he booking things? Yes. People trying to bash him online by showing. you know, he was at like an X-Finity Live type of place with like a smaller crowd.
Starting point is 00:18:23 Yep. I get what you're doing. And yeah, I understand they can take shots and digs them because he fumbled the back so hard. But like, I just always question those because people are like, I'm team Amanda. They're having from what it seems to the public, a very amicable divorce separation, whatever you want to call it, there is no teams necessarily. And by the way, I mean, I don't think anybody you'd be hard pressed to find somebody who's like, wow, you know what? I'm team Kyle. You know, he tried to do everything.
Starting point is 00:18:51 There's a couple people. Oh, so there are a couple people floating out there. But this conversation, one, they're already separated. Like, they don't live here. I think so, too. I think this was just the on-screen confirmation. For show, honestly, like, I guarantee you if we had longer clips or cameras following them all the time, like, they're not staying together.
Starting point is 00:19:11 I think she's at Sierra and Page's house back and forth. I think so, too, yeah. Yeah. And I think that when he's talking about, like, I don't sleep sometimes, like, Amanda should know that you're not sleeping. You guys sleep together. If you're waking up at 3 o'clock, 4 o'clock in the morning and getting up and leaving, like she would know that you're doing that.
Starting point is 00:19:28 This shouldn't be news to her. And I don't really care, honestly, because it's not like a gotcha moment. It's just like, it's whatever. I mean, we talked about that in the beginning of the season, how we were going to feel about it and knowing the news, knowing what was going on currently. And honestly, it's just kind of a day by day type of situation. It's an episode by episode thing where we're getting more,
Starting point is 00:19:47 but this isn't really a situation. where we need more. You know, Kyle's talking about getting a manager and going on the road. And he's talking about how it's so much easier to get lover boy into those venues where usually you'd have to pay. Like, I get it. Everybody gets it. And yeah, a lot of people are going to deny it.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Whatever. It doesn't matter. I understand that part of it. It's the other part of it. Exactly. It's the other part of it. It's your wife. It's your relationship, your marriage that doesn't really add up where you're not clearing
Starting point is 00:20:13 things with Amanda. You're just doing it and saying, well, it's a very easy situation. Of course, I said yes to do. doing this. It's like you're missing the whole point. Entirely. And like that's what this scene really did was highlight the disconnect in his understanding of the situation versus what he thinks is going on. Yeah. Because if you really break it down, what this scene tells you, Amanda's telling you,
Starting point is 00:20:39 Kyle, she doesn't care. I don't care about the business. I don't care that this is better for lover boy. I don't care about the financial part of it, period. I want you, Kyle, that's it. I want you and I want our marriage. And whatever that looks like financially, we'll figure out, but I miss my husband. That's what she's saying. What he thinks she's saying is this is a crazy Hail Mary to do the DJ thing. But like, here I am.
Starting point is 00:21:04 I'm providing for a providing for us. Loverboy is doing great. The DJ thing is adding to Loverboy, I'm getting it in to bars without a fee. I don't understand how she can't see it from my perspective. because all of these things are a net positive for us financially in the long run. I'm setting up my family for the future. And look, there's some credence to that, right?
Starting point is 00:21:27 Like there is something to be said about Kyle concerned about finances. That's a very normal thing in a marriage, right? But he completely misses over and over and over again the idea that she is not talking about finances. She doesn't care about finances in this. conversation. She's telling you, Kyle, I miss my husband. I miss us hanging out. She makes references. We used to like joke around and goof and just be together. That's gone because you're out every single night and it's about to ramp up. Am I, is this it now? I'm married to a DJ and you're in the night like that's what's going on. That's the, this painted the picture so clearly of Amanda
Starting point is 00:22:10 just wants a husband. Kyle's concerned about finances and they are missing each other. two boats passing in the night. They're not even close. Yeah. Yeah, that's exactly what's happening here. And honestly, we've seen so many different conversations from the two of them, especially over the years. We've seen every type of marriage fixing, marriage getting back together,
Starting point is 00:22:30 happy moments. We've seen everything. We have not seen one conversation where he talked about lover boy's not doing well. Amanda seems to be doing well with her swimsuit line. Let's have a conversation and see how long we can tread water until we figure this whole thing. out. Let me figure out if I want to continue to do lover boy. Let me figure out if I want to do this. If I can continue to do lover boy while Amanda provides for what we need day to day, because at the end of the day, I mean, especially for companies, he keeps saying, like,
Starting point is 00:22:57 I'm not taking a salary. It doesn't mean he's fucking broke. That means nothing to me. So have the conversation with your wife, who's now being successful and bringing in her own revenue, bringing in her own money, have that conversation. That tells me that we've seen everything else under the sun. We haven't seen that conversation. You guys probably haven't had that conversation because you're not able to have that conversation. And it could be just a little bit of like that like patriarchal delusion of I'm the male I need to provide for my wife and I don't really care what she has to say. Given the boat conversation last year, that's kind of the vibe I get where he's like we're focused on my things. Which like I whatever that should exist in the world.
Starting point is 00:23:34 I don't really understand it, but that's to each their own. But we haven't seen the conversation of, hey, this isn't going well right now. How's it going with your swimsuit line? Right. Can we just figure this out over like a six to eight month period. Are we going to do it well enough? Do we need to sell the condo or whatever? Like none of those conversations ever happened. It's just immediately, oh, duh, I'll be a DJ. I can bring in revenue that way. And it's going to be good for lover boy. Again, all makes sense. Makes total business sense. I get it. But you're neglecting your marriage. You're neglecting your wife who is telling you and has told you every step of the way, I don't really like this. It's like a different level of I don't care. It's more,
Starting point is 00:24:13 You don't get it because I'm still bringing him money, but you're not complaining about it. It's like that's what he's kind of spinning himself into. So we're just in a really tough spot with the two of them. And obviously we know what it ends up as. But watching it unfold is it's both uncomfortable and enlightening where it's a weird little situation that we kind of find ourselves in. But again, I mean, they've been on screen for 10 years at this point. Like we do in a weird way in a reality TV world.
Starting point is 00:24:37 We need to tie it on it. We need to tie it on it. And that's the thing. Kyle, he's acting as though, you know, the DJ thing is almost like he's comparing to like, you know, a coal miner. It's like, I have to be in the mines to provide for, like, if I don't go into the coal mines, I can't provide for my family. It's like choosing to, there's plenty of avenues for you to make money that don't involve you staying out to four in the morning. So that's where he, he loses me every time. I'm like, all right, you're not like a martyr here because you're going to DJ at these clubs.
Starting point is 00:25:10 Like, come on. But before we get back to the rest of our episode, I've got a few words from our friends over at Robody. And you've heard me talk about Robody before. Maybe you're thinking about starting your GLP1 journey. Maybe you have other friends or family who have already started their journey. I know that if I needed GLP1s, I'd go right to Row because the best part about Roe is that they have 100% online care, access to clinically proven FDA-approved medications, a free insurance check, side effect management, dosing support, and way more. it can be a bit of a daunting experience. Maybe you're thinking about it and you don't really know which way to go.
Starting point is 00:25:43 Roe is going to be here to help. And the best part is they have the new GLP1 pill that has the same weight loss ingredient as the shot. And it packs comparable results to that shot. And that's one daily pill for fewer cravings and feeling fuller with an innovative new formula, clinically proven to maximize weight loss. So go to row.com slash brawbrose to see if you're eligible for the new
Starting point is 00:26:04 GLP1 pill on row. That's RO. dot CO slash brapros to get started on row. Go to row.co slash safety for box warning and full safety information about GLP1 medications. Now we'll get back to the rest of our episode. So let's get back to the Hamptons. And, you know, it's Kyle's birthday weekend.
Starting point is 00:26:22 So that's always a big weekend in the summer house. So him and Ben are doing some shots and you get the classic. You know, my grandma always said age is just a number. And I don't want to be told how old I am. Let's rip these shots, baby. but everyone's arriving. Carl gets there. Hey Carl, how are you from Lindsay?
Starting point is 00:26:42 Good. Is that a new haircut? No. Did you get your shorter? No. Okay. It looks nice. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:51 Thanks. Great. So awkward. And you know, they're both like this. Just working on a friendly relationship. That was fun. But you get a conversation with Carl and KJ.
Starting point is 00:27:02 And Carl's like, you know, I'm in a weird mood at the moment. because this energy from Lindsay, like, I don't know what I'm going to get. I thought we're trying to make things, you know, go pathetic. We're just trying to be neutral, whatever. And then I find out from Bailey that she talked to Lindsay about me. But this, this is funny when you break down the whole scope of it because he leaves something out in this moment.
Starting point is 00:27:23 He says she gave me two thumbs down. We didn't know to what. I thought that was just in general. That was to an actual specific point. And you come to find out later, that was just in regards to sex. but Lindsay also said you should go for it. He's a great conversationalist. So she wasn't totally bashing him, but it does show you this disconnect they will probably always have.
Starting point is 00:27:44 On one side, Lindsay, this show is sponsored by Liquid Ivy. You're going to have a hard time transitioning from those indoor hibernation sessions to outdoor saturation. Proclaims frequently, I don't care about that guy and yet cannot help herself but to take digs at him and talk about him. On the flip side, you have Carl who's saying she's still attacking me, but what she really did was take a little jab at your sex and then give you some problems. So it's just these two again.
Starting point is 00:32:11 Yeah. And that's essentially what's going on. And it's funny too because we haven't had this conversation where Carl's like, hey, let me bend your ear on a topic right now. I'll talk about Lindsay. We got tired of those conversations. Those conversations were crazy. We haven't had that in a long time.
Starting point is 00:32:26 This felt like fresh material. Like, oh. And KJ is a great person to talk to about it too because KJ doesn't really understand everything, but he's emotionally intelligent enough to be like, all right, Carl. And he seemed like a nice guy. What's going on? Let's figure this whole thing out. Let me just at least be here so that you can just sound off because it seems like he got something, which is way better than him harboring it and then talking about it in a negative way later when we do talk about it.
Starting point is 00:32:48 He's got a different air about him. And that's something that we've seen from Carl over the last couple of years. He's able to find his avenues to kind of, not aggression is the wrong word, but to get any ill feels out of him before he actually has the conversation because he's able to at least talk to somebody else who's a little more reliable. Like, all right, let me just get this off. And then when I have that conversation later, it's not negative. And I don't feel bad about it. And I don't have to worry about any sort of repercussions. So I love that too because I always like to just highlight as much Carl growth as possible.
Starting point is 00:33:18 And that's one of them because this could have absolutely melted down just again, Lindsay talking about how she doesn't care about Carl. She clearly does. We could see a meltdown conversation between the two of them. But it seems like Carl is not treading lightly, but he's doing all of the right things to make sure it doesn't get there, which is a good move by him. Yeah. Lindsay's going to take the digs. That's what she does.
Starting point is 00:33:42 They're funny. I don't think they're that serious. I think they're just an indication that, yes, she still thinks about you from time to time. I'm not saying in like a romantic way, but you're still on the brain. Less than two years prior. Like you were engaged. You guys were engaged and broke up in a tumultuous fashion.
Starting point is 00:34:00 Like we keep forgetting about that because of how much has happened. And Lindsay getting together with another guy and having a baby and it seems like she has everything that she wanted. it's less than two years. Like there's still some real feels there. So if she's taking the approach of making some jokes here and there at your expense, honestly, that's okay.
Starting point is 00:34:16 With Lindsay, it could be so much worse. This is fine. Yeah, totally fine. And sometimes they're funny. Sometimes, you know,
Starting point is 00:34:22 they're not. Most of the time they're funny. It's not that serious is the bottom line. But the ladies are by the pool chatting. And I'm pretty sure, like Sierra's so emotionally intelligent that I know she knows. But this. I think is just more confirmation.
Starting point is 00:34:39 And sometimes you need that. And I think what we're seeing is just this, whatever this relationship is going to be. We're seeing the stepping stones of where they're, wherever they're currently at right now. Yeah. We're getting those little pieces like in this. Uh, Mia's like, hey, I think West is in love with you, Sierra. Doesn't mean you have to be in love with him. Her reception to this gives me a lot of hope for these two because she doesn't turn her nose up.
Starting point is 00:35:06 She doesn't say anything crazy. She acknowledges when someone else says, well, a lot more work is needed on his end. I think Amanda said that. So she's lobbying for it in a little bit. And this is, again,
Starting point is 00:35:18 Lindsay, Carl will probably always be funny in some regard. Because Lindsay asked, well, would you ever give him another chance? Because of Carl ever tried. I'd say never, never, never,
Starting point is 00:35:29 ever. It's like, whoa, what the fuck? How do we get there? But Sierra's just kind of like, hmm, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Like she's just kind of quiet. And I think we've watched it, right? Like we've seen how she gets to this point of like just kind of sitting there silently thinking about it. Yeah. But I think it goes a long way knowing where we came from to where we've currently gotten to to see like, oh shit, those of us out here that are shipping these two, like there is some hope ever so slowly.
Starting point is 00:36:00 Yeah. Yeah, there is some hope. I'm not in that boat just because I just want to see how it plays out and let them go. because there's been so much goddamn discourse about it that I want to let them live their lives for the love of God. But, I mean, when these situations come up, you have to talk about it. So I do think deep down, obviously, she knows. She's thinking about it.
Starting point is 00:36:19 She's probably got last weekend in her mind. Like, okay, yeah, he was really drunk, but he was very touchy, feeling. And it didn't strike me as like what Jesse was doing where it's like, oh, yeah, if we hook up, we hook up. For West, it was more like, hey, I still love you. I just want to be near you. I want to crawl into your skin and live with you. That's what West was doing last week.
Starting point is 00:36:39 And she knows it. And there's some charm to it. But obviously when you go back and you look at how that whole shit unfolded, it's like, ah, yeah, let's be trepidacious. Let's not get too into it. So what her face when Mia had said, I think he's in love with you, she was almost shocked. But I don't think it was like, are you sure he's in love with me? I think she thought it, but hearing that was like, okay.
Starting point is 00:37:00 Hearing it out loud was like, okay, yeah, all right, yeah. Okay, other people are picking up on this. So they're seeing what's going on. So I think if anything, knowing Sierra and I'm watching her over these years, she'll be a little bit more guarded, but I don't think it's going to be as guarded as she has been in the past because there are so many feelings when it comes to West. And like Amanda said, we're in a situation right now where if you do get to that point,
Starting point is 00:37:22 a lot of conversations have to happen. And then we can start to trust that whole situation. So we'll see where it goes. But again, the door is never really slammed shut, much like Lindsay and Carls is slam shut and double locked, triple locked with like one of those. Sealed and bricked over. Yeah, sealed and brooked over. That works too.
Starting point is 00:37:40 Jeffrey Dahmer's dorm at Ohio State. I don't think it's a jar, but the door is unlocked and, you know, the front light porch is flickering a little bit. I'll get the thing. Yeah. And the, the doorman from Wizard of Oz is camped out behind it, ready to pop open the little hole. Yeah. Yeah. Or rookie of the year.
Starting point is 00:37:59 Ah, yeah. That is more of my speed. Yeah. Well, everyone sits down at dinner, I believe it's called Kasaki. But Lindsay, I love Lindsay and I miss her being on the show more frequently because she's the one that will sit in front of Jesse and make the comment. I'm keeping my eye on you. Like, that's what we've been missing is Lindsay checking the dudes, which we need. But Lindsay asked Carl, hey, I talked to Bailey this week.
Starting point is 00:38:27 And again, like, this is showing progress. She's asking about what's going on. And he's like, yeah, you know, we ended up going out to it. It wasn't a date, but it sort of felt like a date. Maybe it was a date? I don't know. What is it date? I can't breathe.
Starting point is 00:38:39 But she told me a little about your convo, Lindsay. It's like, yeah, what about it? I said she should go for it. See, I'm nice. Well, she said he gave me two thumbs down and go for it. That's when she lets us note, well, she paraphrased because what I said was two thumbs down for the sex, but he probably won't have sex with you. But he's a great conversationalist.
Starting point is 00:38:59 this might be Carl's best rebuttal via confessional. Early Carl, young Carl was a fuck boy. We got together. We all know they weren't having sex because of the circumstance. Nobody was sitting here thinking that Carl is asexual, especially given his past. So he points that out and he's like, well, yeah,
Starting point is 00:39:21 we weren't having sex because of what was going on. But now I got shit for being a fuck boy. And now I'm getting shit because I don't fuck at all. Like, yes, correct. That is true. You cannot do anything right. And the faster that you accept that and move on with your life, you're going to be fine. And look, it's a learning experience for Carl across the board because this could have devolved into a different situation.
Starting point is 00:39:40 But he knows, well, let her have this one because she did at the end of the day tell Bailey to go for it. And we had a great conversation. And was it a date, Carl? Well, yeah, it was in the middle of the day. Okay, so not much of a date. What? But yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:39:57 which then we get the scene where, and this is kind of all tied together, of that date, talking about Bailey and Lindsay and Bailey saying, yeah, I've gotten really close to Lindsay and she's had a lot to say about you. Oh, all stellar remarks, I'm sure. Okay, Carlin, come on. Just lead into it. We know what's going to happen here. But Bailey doesn't seem like she's taking too much or putting too much emphasis on it.
Starting point is 00:40:19 She's going to give you a fair shake. She's going to give you a chance. We do know because they've already blabbed about it recently, but they do make out at some point or they have been making out here and there. So that's a well and good. But Carl, take this as a win. Lindsay did recommend going out with you. So she doesn't fully hate you.
Starting point is 00:40:35 And there's a chance that you guys could be friends again, which is what you want. Yeah. And you got to acknowledge that, you know, you just got to erase the fact that she gave you two thumbs down for the sex. This is a compliment what she did. She was nice. But she can't, I don't think she could sleep at night if she just gave you a compliment and didn't drag you a little bit. So I think that's spit it, buddy. I mean, she gave you two thumbs down for the sex.
Starting point is 00:40:57 If you do perform really well, the bar is so low, that's going to be the best thing ever. Right? Yeah. Low bar, low standards. Yeah. Anyway, I love that we start pulling from past experiences because it puts everybody in the spotlight and under the radar here because Jesse, any advice on moving to it quickly? He's like, yeah, take it slow. And he made a Lexi joke earlier, which was actually kind of funny.
Starting point is 00:41:22 I'll give him that one. Yeah. What else did you learn? don't use Sierra as collateral. Well, is there my intention to use Sierra's collateral? Don't talk to the press. Well, Wes can tell you that too. They're going just around the table to the fuck boys, which is great.
Starting point is 00:41:36 Finally, fucking finally, on camera in front of the whole group, a fully thought out coherent sentence that doesn't end with ambiguity. I'll say one thing. I wrote it down verbatim in honor of that. I empathize a lot with how our relationship ended. I did a lot of interviews, but it is gross to talk about the relationship publicly. I didn't realize it until I was the other side of it and saw someone else go through it. I see you. Boom.
Starting point is 00:42:06 Good, West. Finally, you did that. Not only good, but it also gets to a point and obviously we'll talk about that. But this is a reaction from Sierra that we haven't really seen so far when it comes to this situation in particular. You finally were able to just take full responsibility and talk about it specifically, not just the, you know, the generalized, the over-explained, I'm really sorry for the things that happened. You said specifically what you did and how you got there.
Starting point is 00:42:32 Now, we could nitpick. Well, it sucks, and that's what Sierra says pretty much right away. Well, it sucks that it took somebody else going through it for you to finally realize your own actions. Fine, fair shot. Clock them immediately. But it opens up a whole other conversation that Sierra, I'm sure, has been wanting to talk about it.
Starting point is 00:42:51 And obviously this cast is a great cast to talk about this with. Maybe they are. wanting to talk about it, whether it's on an interview, which she doesn't strike me as somebody who's going to sit down on a podcast and talk about all of this. It's a more of a close-knit type group. Like, all right, here's how I actually felt going through all of that. And here's the whole background to all of that. And maybe now, because it seems like you're at a good situation where you can understand where I'm coming from, I can explain this to you in a way that you will actually get. And it'll resonate with you.
Starting point is 00:43:19 And she does a great job. I mean, KJ does a great job. Mia does it like everybody just going around the table. Kyle chiming in just basically saying he doesn't fucking understand what's going on, but he wants to understand what's going on. The correct response from him. Yeah, which is look, we know, buddy. We understand who you are.
Starting point is 00:43:34 We get that, but that's the right response. This opens that door to Sierra talking about all of this and being in a comfortable position to talk about all of this, which was, I think, desperately needed for everybody at that table. Yeah. And it shows you the nuance of this whole thing, right? And it shows a facet of their whole debacle that, a lot of people probably didn't think about it.
Starting point is 00:43:56 Especially a lot of white people. And not just dating, just reality TV in general, just being in the public eye. Correct. And there's a whole other layer to this thing that has to do with race. And that's what Sierra brings up.
Starting point is 00:44:09 And I thought this was such a powerful conversation. And I thought it was wildly educational for especially people that may not have grasped this concept. Yeah. Watching it happen originally. But she talks about all the blowback that she got. One, she's the first black person in this house.
Starting point is 00:44:24 Two, she's dating white dudes publicly. And nobody at this table other than Mia and Cage can really understand or empathize with what's going on because she was getting smoked at the end of the reunion. She was getting DMs from people, calling her all kinds of names, dragging her all of this other stuff because she got showed up by a white guy and that she says that. And you know, West on the other side of it is like, well, I was getting called racist in my DMs. So a lot of what I did was reactionary and I apologize for that. Great move there as well. Nice job, West, for apologizing. But her and KJ and Mia discussing this
Starting point is 00:44:59 whole topic of being a person of color on reality TV, dating, and all of the nuances that come with it, all the difficulties that come with it. I thought it was so enlightening, eye-opening, hats off to them, because that's not an easy conversation to have and to be that vulnerable on TV. I think what they were able to do in this conversation is teach a lot of people. A lot of people can open their eyes to a side of reality TV that maybe they weren't latching on to. Maybe they didn't see that part of it. But while they're not seeing that part, Sierra KJ Mia, they're living that every single way. And so when things happen on the show where we're sitting here going, oh, that's wacky,
Starting point is 00:45:39 there can be a lot more to it that maybe you didn't understand. And that could also be adding to the fallout from this whole thing. And that makes total sense. You know, and like that's again, we're not going to understand it. You know, it's the only thing that we can do is listen and learn and do better in the future. But I thought that they were able to do it so eloquently and just in a really almost positive way to teach and talk about. So hats off to all of that. I really thought that that was a great conversation.
Starting point is 00:46:08 And again, like you said, this is the perfect group to do this. Yeah, there was like no condescending tone. There was no, let me tell you something. There was no, you don't fucking understand. And it was just from a positive, like an outreach position where it's like, hey, I know you don't understand. So let me tell you and give you a glimpse into what we all go through. And when me and KJ are going back and forth and Mia's like, look, you probably got the same conversation that my brother's got when we were going up. Cage is like, yes, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:46:37 adds into it. Sierra gets to add into that. And it was just a very even flow, perfectly done conversation where everybody else just shut the fuck up and just listen to them, actually listen to them and actually understood where they were coming from. And that's again, look, you can look at this a lot of different ways. I'm sure people are like, all right, do we really need to have this conversational reality TV? Like, shut the fuck up. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:46:57 Yeah, we do. And the other part of it is when you do this and when we're doing all of this, one, the viewer is going to understand a little bit more, maybe think about things a little bit differently. But also for the other people at the table, yeah, these are the people that you're living with. These are the people that you want to get closer to. Like this is actually an activity at the end of the day where you are now understanding
Starting point is 00:47:17 somebody else on your show a little bit more. It's a bonding experience at the end of the day because of the way that they did it because they didn't have to just swap somebody in the top of the head and be like, hey, fuck off. Like what you're doing is wrong. It was, hey, you guys aren't really doing anything wrong necessarily. But just so you understand, this is where I'm coming from. So that way, that approach is so much more powerful. I feel like not only for the cast and obviously they understand, but for the people watching. So it just takes something away from it.
Starting point is 00:47:43 Yeah. And you know, Kyle, when he did chime in, I thought he did a great job too, just highlighting the fact that, you know, we take so much. granted, I have a temper. I'm not thinking 20 steps ahead, highlighting the fact that, yeah, you get a bit of a pass because of the color of your skin. If KJ reacted the same way that you did publicly, it would be a wildly different reception.
Starting point is 00:48:02 And I think that that's also an important part for Kyle to give an example. Like, here's a perfect example of the way that we're treated versus the way that KJ, Mia, and Sierra experienced their life. So top to bottom, I thought it was a great, great job by everybody on the cast. And, yeah, to what you said.
Starting point is 00:48:20 Like, do we really need to talk about this? Yes. Absolutely. But, um, yeah, I mean, everything seems cool. This fucking, which is going to go, it's going to go fucking,
Starting point is 00:48:32 it's going to go right. But that midseason trailer, my immediate reaction, this might be the best, best season of Summerhouse that we've had in like eight years. Yeah, truly we've gone through it. And this is just how my brain works.
Starting point is 00:48:48 We've gone through some shit season. since the show. We really have. We have endured a lot of crap on this show. Pretty much, I would say this might be the best season since Had M. Page came on. And that's, you know, what, six, six years ago?
Starting point is 00:49:02 So, yeah, I'm pumped for the rest of the season. I am too. And the only thing that we can be sure of with a kumbaya moment is that, like you said, it's about to blow up. Something serious is about to happen. Yeah. Something about something on the show is about that fucking happen. Seale's going to be able to say, told you so to me.
Starting point is 00:49:19 I can't wait. I knew it. It's going to suck for me. I tried. I tried to not. Dude, I know. You tried to get me. I get it.
Starting point is 00:49:27 I'm still going to wait. It's just who I am as a person. I will not concede. But I don't know. We'll see how it goes. Yeah, I'm excited for that moment. But that's all I got. You got anything else?
Starting point is 00:49:38 Nope. Well, that's our show. Robbros are out of here. Getting ready for a game means being ready for anything. Like packing a spare stick. I like to be prepared. That's why I remember 988, Canada's suicide crisis helpline. It's good to know, just in case.
