Wasabi wallet. I'm fairly private.
What's up everyone? Ben with the BTZ sessions here and this is your daily session.
Before we dive in, of course, shout out to sponsors of the show, leaden.io.
This is where you can use your Bitcoin for a variety of different services.
Of course, they got their Bitcoin sequence account where you can earn interest on your Bitcoin paid in Bitcoin.
They have their Bitcoin backed loans where you can use your Bitcoin as colloquy.
lateral to obtain a Canadian or U.S. dollar loan. So if you're in a pinch, you need to get your
hands on dollars, but you don't want to sell your Bitcoin because it might be a bad time. Well, this could
be an option for you. And finally, there's the B2X offering they have, which gives you double the
exposure to the price fluctuations of Bitcoin. If you want to check that out, there is a link down below in
the show notes. And if you opt to get a Bitcoin back loan using that link, they will credit your account
with an additional $50 worth of Bitcoin. And secondly, we've got a
Rise wallet. This is a Bitcoin gift card physical that you can pick up at a store near you. It works
just like a Visa gift card so you pay an activation fee, but then at that point you can really
gift it to anybody you like. I personally find it excellent for an onboarding mechanism for
new users. It's super idiot proof. All you have to do is when the person receives a gift card,
they read the instructions on the back, download the app, they scratch a code and scan it.
It instantly creates them a brand new Bitcoin wallet personally held and sends them an on-chain
transaction for the face value of the card.
I love it.
I've given it it to lots of people.
So if you want to check it out, head over to risewallet.com and click on locations to see
where it's available near you.
Currently, it's only in Canada, but they are looking at expanding.
So keep an eye out.
And if it happens not to be at a store near you in Canada, you can always go to coincards.
and get one delivered. With that, let's dive into the news. So some awesome news coming out of
block stream today, and that is that BTC pay server has added liquid support. So the liquid
network is a side chain of Bitcoin in which you can actually peg into and out of using,
you can essentially lock up Bitcoin and receive something called liquid Bitcoin. And this has
shorter block times of one minute, so it's fully confirmed within two confirmations,
two minutes. So quicker transfer times and also a few other benefits like confidential transactions.
So you can actually hide the amounts that you're sending. So you cannot be, you know,
you don't have private eyes on your private transactions. So I'll just read a little bit from
the blog post here. We're excited to announce that BTC pay server has integrated the Liquid Network
into its software suite. Now merchants using BTCPay can easily allow their customers to leverage
the liquid network for payments. This means confidential and fast settlement in liquid Bitcoin
and other assets on liquids such as stable coins like liquid tether. So you can issue other coins
on the liquid network, other peg to whatever value you like. So now using BTCP server,
people can pay in Liquid Bitcoin, in Bitcoin, in Lightning Network, and also in Lightning-issued assets
like USDT. So, interesting and awesome update here. And if you want to check out playing around
with BTC Pay and playing around with Liquid, it's actually, you can use Liquid Network via
the Blockstream Green wallet. Now, I've done a tutorial on Blockstream Green, but this was before
they implemented liquid support. So it won't necessarily help you in that sense. But I will link to this
blog post from Blockstream about liquid support in their wallet. Furthermore, I'm excited to see
liquid implemented in My Node, which is a really easy to set up personal home node. It's going to
be added there. So you'll be able to do liquid transactions and verify that yourself there.
So, yeah, some great developments around Liquid Network and these kind of secondary layers in and around Bitcoin that seems to be developing quite quickly.
Up next, we've got some fun news, particularly if you're Hodlanaut.
Those of you unfamiliar with Hodlenot, he is the Twitter Spacecat that everybody loves so much.
He started the Lightning Network Torch, the Lightning Torch, which I myself,
I've got to be a part of. I got to be one of the individuals that received the torch.
And what that was was, it started with a small amount of Bitcoin and Lightning Network.
And they passed it around person to person until it bumped up against the cap of how much you can send in a lightning transaction.
And it went around the world, you know, tons and tons of different countries all over the place.
And it was an excellent example of lightning network's power.
and the freedom that it gives to everybody.
Anyways, Hodlenot was also at the time regularly calling out Craig Wright for being a total
fraud, which he is.
But Craig Wright called out to his cronies and asked them to docks Hodlenot, find his information
so that he could take him to court.
And then he proceeded to sue Hodlanot, but in a UK court, which we learned,
was not where Hotla Not resides.
It was also where he sued Peter McCormick, host of the What Bitcoin did podcast.
And the reason for suing them for defamation in a UK court is because the UK court
have really bad defamation laws in that it does not favor the defendant whatsoever.
It's actually much in favor of the plaintiff.
And so trying to sue somebody that was,
out of Norway in the case of Hodlennot in a UK court really didn't make any sense, but clearly
he was making a grab at the jurisdiction that would be the most favorable to him. Well, it looks
like that is not going to work out for him as Hodlanott tweeted out, UK High Court handed
down judgment today in the defamation case CSW filed against me. The judge ruled the UK does not
have jurisdiction and the proceedings against me there are to be dismissed.
has jurisdiction. We will go to court there and put an end to this mess. And as I said, Craig was
kind of making this jurisdiction grab because he knew that's kind of where he might have a chance
to get away with this lawsuit. I'm doubtful that's how it's going to turn out in Norway. So we will
see going forward, but congrats to Hodlnott on having something go your way.
And speaking of Craig Wright, we did see a ridiculous pump in the price of BSV due to some of his lies regarding gaining access to 1.1 million Bitcoin, which clearly he does not have access to, but he's trying to string people along.
Anyways, while this was happening, there was a massive on-chain Bitcoin transaction, which led to some speculation as to whether or not that was actually Craig Wright.
Well, obviously it was not. It was just BitFinex moving around and refunding their hot wallet for the exchange.
They actually moved $1 billion worth of Bitcoin and they only paid 48 cents of on-chain fees, which is pretty incredible.
So, yes, Craig Wright does not have access to that Bitcoin, will not have access to that Bitcoin.
and yes, this was just Bitfinex shuffling around some funds to ensure that withdraws continued on their exchange.
And finally, I wanted to wrap up with this.
Yesterday, the reason I didn't have a podcast out was because I dropped a tutorial for Breeze wallet.
This is a mobile wallet for iOS and Android, and it is a lightning wallet, non-custodial, that you can run.
and it runs a neutrino lightning client,
and you're able to trustlessly run lightning on your phone.
So it's not custodial.
It's not somebody else holding and managing everything for you.
And a lot of the complex issues with Lightning Network have kind of been abstracted away in this one.
So I quite enjoy it.
So be sure to check out that tutorial and share it around if you find it useful.
And with that, I am going to wrap up.
Thank you guys so much for.
for watching and listening if you are on any sort of podcast platform.
Of course, always hit like, subscribe, and share,
and share out those podcasts on your social media as well.
If you want to help out the show in another way,
you can always check out the sponsors I mentioned before down below,
Leden and Rise Wallet as well as Wasopi Wallet to help with your Bitcoin privacy.
And finally, you can check out NordVPN.
This also in the privacy vein, it helps hide your IP address,
encrypts your browsing data,
and also has the added benefit of unlocking geoblock content.
So if you can't access something in your area,
you can simply change where you are pretending to be from, more or less,
and access that content quite easily.
And with that, I will wrap up.
Thanks again, you guys.
And I will see you next time for your daily session.
