Starting point is 00:00:00 You're LaBhahaha. Haughton. The station of the planet. Resistance is futile. The revolution has been done. We're listening to Revelepreneur Radio, helping you break the rules
Starting point is 00:00:21 and build the business you need for the life you want. And now, broadcasting his pirate signal from somewhere beyond the status glow. Here's your host, best-selling author, marketing and media strategist, Ralph Brogden.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Hello and welcome to Rebelpreneur Radio. It's the show that helps you build the business you need so you can live the life you want. I'm Ralph Brogden. There's a song, I don't know how many years ago it is. Love is in the air. And we've been talking about love. It seems like everywhere I turn now, people are discovering the power of love to not just create the life that they want, but also to help drive their business and give their business purpose and meaning beyond
Starting point is 00:01:06 profit. I mean, profit, yeah, you got to make money. But it's the love, I think, that gives you the passion to endure. It's passion that helps you to overcome obstacles, to stick with your business, even when it's not profitable. And so I think we should pay really close attention to people who understand that it's about love. And then how do we use love to create a thriving business? And That's actually the topic of conversation for today's guest. She is known as the Light Messenger. And I'm pleased to welcome Gloria Grace Rand. She is a holistic business guide and bestselling author of the book, Live, Love, Engage, How to Stop Doubting Yourself, and Start Being, Being, Being, and start being yourself.
Starting point is 00:01:57 I love that title and subtitle. Grace leverages 15 years of online marketing experience with energy healing, to help female entrepreneurs attract clients with confidence and clarity. Grace, welcome to Rebelburner Radio. Oh, thank you so much for having me on today. I am so looking forward to talking about love and really how it relates to business. I am so delighted to have you. It seems like everything just you get into these rhythms where it seems like you see.
Starting point is 00:02:33 You see and hear people saying the same thing. It's like we're getting tuned in to the same wavelength. And one thing about it is artificial intelligence can't create love. It can't create passion. You will never be able to replace that element of humanity. And that's what drives our lives. And that's what drives our businesses. I mentioned that because you've got something about AI on,
Starting point is 00:03:03 your website. Yes, and it's a wonderful tool to use, but you're absolutely right. It does not, it still doesn't replace who you are as a person, because even if you, I use AI tools, I use them to help me come up with ideas for blog articles or even the social media posts, but I still have to take what AI gives me. put my own voice into it. Because, you know, otherwise, because I'm sure you've probably seen, and I'm sure a lot of us have seen, you can tell something, especially on social media, that it's like, oh, yeah,
Starting point is 00:03:49 that's AI. Yeah, that was not really written by a person. They're just kind of like cutting and paste in. And it's like, no, no, no, no. It still has to be you, even though some of the AI can get really pretty sophisticated, but, you know, there's your secret sauce. that you need to be able to introduce into that. And that's what I like to do.
Starting point is 00:04:11 I also help my clients do that as well. Well, tell us a little bit more about who you are, what you do and who you help. Sure. So I am, as you mentioned in the intro, yes, I've been doing online marketing, actually, for 15 years. A long time ago, I worked in television, actually, as a writer and a producer for the nightly business report. many moons ago, it seems like now. But I eventually wound up starting my own business, and I was helping small businesses, in particular, to write content for their websites.
Starting point is 00:04:51 And I loved that. And it was very great, especially in the early years, to be able to get somebody on that first page of Google. Yeah. One of my first clients, nobody was calling her because nobody could find her website. And then after I did some work with her, the phone was ringing. And so she became my biggest cheerleader.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Yeah, results. Yeah, absolutely. And then, of course, you know, life happens as it were. And back in 2016, my sister had been diagnosed with cancer the year before, and unfortunately, I lost her. and however before she passed like actually two months before i was um i had i've done a meditation practice for a long time and i was meditating one morning and this idea popped into my head that said you need a book about love and i thought that was crazy because i was doing all my marketing what is what does love have to do with marketing exactly yeah it's like well
Starting point is 00:05:56 let's not get so woo-woo here i need some practical stuff. And I think that's a discovery. A lot of people are making one way or the other. So that came to you while you were meditating, but trying to figure out marketing and business, not necessarily about love. Yeah, absolutely. And so I, you know, I went on my computer after all this time. It's like, okay, well, if I were to write about love, what would I say? and it turned out that love was an acronym. And so it was like, hmm, okay, interesting. And then, of course, life got in the way, you know,
Starting point is 00:06:38 I had to do with my sister, and I wasn't able to really deal with that for quite a while. And it took a couple years for me to actually go back in and then start writing the book. And at one point, I finally realized why I was given this information and it was because I needed to learn how to love myself. And that was the missing piece of why I had only been a success, which a certain level of success in my copywriting business,
Starting point is 00:07:09 but it wasn't, I wasn't able to kind of get all the way there. And it was because of a lot of self-doubt, a lot of self-worth issues that I was having. And through this method, I was able to, it helped me. And that's why now I want to be able to help. women entrepreneurs who are where I was back then who are maybe confused. They're not, they're not charging enough for their products and services because they're not valuing themselves. And that's what I want to do now is where they help them to be able to say, yeah, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:42 I am worthy to help other people and I'm willing to be paid, you know, commensurate with that experience and expertise that I have. Why is it that that is such a struggle and not just for women, but all people, they seem to go through this beginning phase where, I don't know, and for some, maybe it never leaves completely, but it's this imposter syndrome is what they call it, where they don't think that they measure up or they're not worthy. And even if they start becoming successful, they self-sabotage. How does that relate to self-love? Because that's interesting.
Starting point is 00:08:24 I haven't heard anyone make that connection. before? Well, it's, you know, I think a lot of it is we get these messages when we're in childhood. I mean, it's even something as simple is just, you know, we want something as kids and we're told no, you can't have that, you know, and or, you know, of course there's lots of different messages that we get about money. You know, money doesn't grow on trees. You've got to work hard for the money.
Starting point is 00:08:52 Or one I had was that, you know, rich people are crooks. Oh, okay. So if I want to be rich, that means I would be a crook, but I don't want to be a crook. So that means I can't be rich, you know. And so it comes down to being able to really understand that, now, this is my belief. So I believe that we're created, you know, by some, you know, creator, amazing, you know, wonderful creator. you can, whatever you want to call that. And that, well, just put it bluntly, my mom said, God doesn't create junk.
Starting point is 00:09:32 So I believe that we are created by, you know, something called God or something like that. And that we're created in that image and we are part of that. So that means that we are all worthy, no matter what some religions. And I grew up Catholic and I didn't know what they would say. but I believe we are worthy to have love and happiness and joy and some prosperity in our lives. And as long as we are coming at it from an open heart and being sincere and kind that we should be able to receive that love and kindness and return. And that sometimes that love is in the form of money. Yeah, yeah. So I want to get to your acronym because the way we have this from you is how love, L-O-V-E, L-O-O-D-V-E dot E-D. So that suggested to me an acronym, a framework, a method behind the spelling of that. So I want to get into that. But before, before I do that, what you just said triggered another thought, that this.
Starting point is 00:10:51 There seems to be a lot of successful businesses and brands, and they don't necessarily make love the foundation or even the motivation for what they do. They're profit-centered rather than people-centered. How should we view that? Yeah, you're right. I mean, there are companies out there that that is the perception, and they certainly, you know, they may feel. very successful and they may and truly be successful in however they define success and maybe they're making a million of dollars or billions of dollars in revenue but are they really happy at the core of it because we don't know we're not walking in their shoes and it could be that they may
Starting point is 00:11:45 have become very successful but maybe another part of their life they may have had to sacrifice you know maybe they don't have good relations with their family or maybe they don't have enough friends, maybe they're workaholics and they're not taking time for themselves. So I think rather than even trying to understand them or worry about them is to just focus on ourselves and if you're in business, you know, what type of business do you want to have? What type of values do you want to, that business to have based on your own values? And just focus in on being the best person, the best business owner that you can be, and you're going to then attract the kind of customers and clients that are going to respond to you. And, you know, don't really worry about
Starting point is 00:12:37 what the other companies are doing per se. Just focus in on what you're doing, I think, is one of the real lesson, I think. Sure. I think that's a great. Yeah, that's a great, that's a great philosophy. especially when we compare one to another, like on social media, for example. A lot of times what we think is very successful is there's a lot of pain going on behind the surface. And that could be the case for large companies or smaller brands. But my intuition is that in a people-focused business, like you're a coach, I'm a consultant. and a coach and therapists and healers and counselors and coaches and even people who are writing and publishing books to try and solve a problem.
Starting point is 00:13:35 These are people-centered businesses, and so I think love has to be the foundation. And again, you need profits, but what are you going to focus on? If you focus on love and focus on serving people in love, even in your business, I think the profits will be there. And that will tend to come into alignment because you're more aligned. You're more secure in who you are. You're providing a great service. And people feel differently around you.
Starting point is 00:14:14 And all of that. And, of course, you know all of this from marketing and from branding, knowing, liking and trusting. And even deeper, knowing loving and trusting. the people that you're doing business with. I think that's really a great advantage, and it's advantage not just for you in your business, but it actually serves your customers and clients at a higher level. Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:14:40 And loving, you know, you got into business for a reason, and so remembering what that reason is, and because I'm sure it was because you loved what you were doing or you loved whatever product you're selling, And then remembering to then spread that love around in the organization, too. Love your employees. Be appreciative of them and keep them happy because then they're going to keep your customers happy. So it's, yeah, if you can have that as your foundation of just really,
Starting point is 00:15:12 and it's about honoring. You know, it's about honoring the people in your organization, honoring your clients and respecting them and seeing them as, you know, someone who is also worthy and worthy to have, to be in your space, to be in the world universe and so you can help each other out. Yeah, that's a real paradigm shift for a lot of people. And if you're feeling burned out in your business, if you're listening to this, and you're feeling burned out or overwhelmed,
Starting point is 00:15:45 it may be because you've gotten away from that core value, and you're just taking a very clinical approach. to whatever it is that you're doing and you're missing that that human element. So, so grace is going to help us to figure out how love creates a thriving business. Share with us, if you will, your methodology, your framework for L-O-V-E. Yeah, absolutely. So the L stands for let go and let God. and it really is about sort of letting go of, it's a lot, but I'll just say it starts with sort of letting go of these limiting beliefs that you may have about yourself, living beliefs about money, letting go of maybe some of the expectations you have for how things are going to turn out, and then, you know, trusting in that higher power, let's say, or greater power.
Starting point is 00:16:45 I saw this recently, some organization refers to as a greater power, which I like that. Instead of elevating it above you, it's just something more powerful. So whatever that is for you, but trusting in your own inner wisdom as well and just letting things evolve more naturally. And just being able to release some of the stress and things that they can sometimes, really start having us doubting ourselves. The O is about opening your heart to receive. And it's really, it's about receiving love, which, as I mentioned earlier, could even stand for receiving money or compliments.
Starting point is 00:17:36 I'll just hear a quick story that my sister was a massage therapist, and she called me one Christmas time to say that one of her clients, wanted to give her a $1,000 holiday bonus, and she wanted to know if she should accept it. And I'm thinking, man, somebody wanted to give me a $1,000 bonus. I'm like, yep, please, thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm so grateful. I was like, what do you mean? You know, but she was having doubts about her worthiness to receive that.
Starting point is 00:18:04 And I'm like, Michaela, if this client has been getting good results from you, if she's, you know, referring you to her friends, then you need to receive us because this is how she is showing her love and appreciation to you. If you reject it, you're rejecting her. So that's kind of where I come from on that. Yeah, that's great. The me is value your uniqueness. You know, appreciate what is unique about you. What does set you apart from all the other competitors, you know, that are up there in the same space, but there's something, you know, you bring something special to the table. So focus in on that and appreciating. that. And then finally, the E is embrace your divinity. And to me, especially when I first
Starting point is 00:18:53 wrote the book, to me it was about, again, just appreciating that you are this unique person and to show yourself some love and to really, you know, understand that you are a worthy person. Yes, you might have done things wrong in the past. For giving You know, we all make mistakes. We are human, and I also think that we are divine as well. And so that's, our soul is divine. So, you know, yeah, we're going to make mistakes. But if we can learn and grow from them, then that's a good thing.
Starting point is 00:19:34 And so that's what we can do. So, yeah. Yeah. That's kind of what all that is about. Very powerful, very powerful. And then you have what, who I consider to be the greatest, of all Jesus. And he says, one of the things that he says is to love your neighbor as yourself.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Not love your neighbor as you love yourself, but love your neighbor as yourself. Which means you're going to forgive, you're going to value, you're going to open your heart, you're going to let go and let God for yourself. And when you have, when you treat your neighbor, the other person, the other people in your family, in your life, in your business, when you treat them as yourself, that means exactly what you're saying. You are embracing their value. You are forgiving them. You are receiving and giving of love. And I think that's the most profound explanation and practical application. And it explains why we have such a hard time loving others as ourselves if we haven't first done the work to love ourselves.
Starting point is 00:20:57 And to see our value, to see our worth. But once I see my value, see it doesn't end with me. And it's like, well, all of us are created in the same image. All of us have value. All of us have uniqueness. And we can open our hearts to one another. So fascinating. And then you start to dissolve the boundaries between life and business and professional relationship and personal relationship.
Starting point is 00:21:27 It's all just one big giving and receiving of love. And wow. I think I'm getting it after, you know, an overnight success after 52 years. 52 years. I get you. Yeah. Yeah. I feel the thing right. And, you know, one thing I want to tell people, too, is that, because this is something I had to grapple with, is that, you know, life is a journey, and, you know, you're going to, you just when you may think you kind of get a handle on things, then something comes along.
Starting point is 00:22:10 I'm like, oh, wait, okay. Yeah, I've got to learn that too now, don't it? Yeah, so I've learned to be, have patience with yourself because, you know, as long as you keep climbing the, you know, the ladder, so to speak, of growing, you know, it's okay, but be patient with yourself. Don't expect to, you know, fix things overnight, necessarily. You won't ever be totally fixed anyway. And I love that also because.
Starting point is 00:22:40 Because that again, all the things that you're saying that we need to do for ourselves, how much better life would be if we would be doing that with others who work for us, who work with us, our clients? And when you see someone that's behaving in a negative way, you know, they drive people really hard. And then you question, well, why are you driving people so hard? Why are you so tough on people? Because I'm tough on myself, right? So that's how we can create transformation is to first be transformed ourselves, then extend that transformation and that grace to other people. Yeah, so this is great. And then to be able to incorporate this into your business, that's just even better.
Starting point is 00:23:31 Because now you have a means through which you can now expand your image. influence your impact and your income all at once, and you're earning a living and getting paid to create that transformation for others. That's wonderful. So how do you work with people? What do you do for people to help them navigate this and to apply this to their life and their business? Sure.
Starting point is 00:24:03 Yeah. So I work one-on-one with clients. and, you know, walking them through the love method. And I do also some type of energy healing as well that is good to support that and to help you with, you know, sometimes releasing some of these long-stored, you know, beliefs that aren't serving you anymore. And so I do some of that as well. And I'm also working on putting together a group program because I really,
Starting point is 00:24:38 want to be able to serve more than one person at a time, which is great, but I want to be able to help more people with this to really be able to walk them through, you know, these four pillars of the love method and, you know, and really help them. Because there's also, I have in my book as well, there's different practices. I call them love practices that you can, you can do on your own to help you to be able to embody this, to be able to let go of things, and to really start honing your own intuition and to really tap into that because we are, a lot of time, especially in this Western culture, we're kind of, it's sort of not, we don't spend too much time really paying attention to our gut, when our gut is sometimes really telling us,
Starting point is 00:25:31 you know, do this or don't do that, you know, listen to me. I'm trying to guide you in the right direction here. And we kind of like, you know, ignore that. But if we can start listening to that, because, again, we've got all the wisdom right in us because we're connected to everyone else. And so we can access all that, but it takes time to be quiet and to go within and start doing that. So that's something else that I teach my clients how to do. Powerful, powerful, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:01 Excellent, because we do need help. We need, and this is especially important for you listening who are solopreneurs or, as I call, rebelpreneurs, it's easy to get closed into your four walls and to be isolated. And now, you know, we're working from home and the laptop lifestyle. And we're not having that level of interaction face-to-face as much anymore. And some of that is good, but it's very easy to feel isolated and all alone. So getting help from others who can help you take your life and your business to the next dimension, that's critically important. You mentioned the group thing, and maybe that's what you're working on, but I wanted to ask, what are you working on right now that's got you really excited. Yeah, so, yeah, so it's just, I'm putting together this 90-day program.
Starting point is 00:27:01 It's called Align to Shine. And so that's, yeah, that, yeah, so that's what I'm really all about because I want to help you to just become more aligned to your higher self so that you can go out and shine your light in the world and be proud of it and to be able to grow your business in a way that is going to align with your values. And you can be prosperous, you know, go out there and help others. The more people, more people you help, the more you're going to be helped. I think I'm not quite getting it, Zig Ziglar, wonderful quote, but I know something about that, you know. So, yeah, that's what I want to, I'm looking in and looking forward to, and we're willing people in soon. Wonderful. Yeah, I don't know if it was Zig Zig, Zieg, or if it's Dale Carnegie.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Maybe it's Zig Ziglar that said you can help. You can get anything you want in life if you help others get what they want. They want. Thank you. That's the quote I was looking for. Yeah, yeah. Zig Ziglar. I met Zig Zigler in person some years ago.
Starting point is 00:28:12 He had before he came and spoke at the lunch that I was at, he had hit a hole in one. So he was talking about that. He was really excited. Oh, boy. Yeah. I can imagine. That's pretty awesome. Yeah, yeah. Well, this has been really fun, and I hope it stretches our awareness of what is possible. Maybe you're listening and you're not ready to embrace this whole thing.
Starting point is 00:28:41 And I'm not sure that I completely get the connection, but my intuition says that there is a connection that we are happiest when we are serving. others when we are loving others. Tony Robbins is always talking about live with passion, but what is passion? Passion is love. And why live with passion? Well, first of all, because you're happier that way, but also because it's the passion that allows you to find the resilience you need to overcome obstacles, to meet challenges, to keep going when you feel like that you just can't do it anymore and not just with with business but with life as well. So this has really been a fun conversation. Any final thoughts or words of wisdom you'd like to leave with our listeners? I think what I would like to leave is that just be kind to yourself and know that
Starting point is 00:29:50 you know, there are going to be days where you may not feel, you know, maybe the passion is waning a little bit. So on those days, just feel into that a little bit and say, you know what, I'm going to take a little break right now because I'm not quite into it. And I'll maybe just set the timer for a few minutes and maybe I'll go watch something that'll put me back in a good mood. You know, maybe there's some funny video on YouTube or something. But just be gentle with yourselves and know that. that, you know, you are an amazing person. You really are. And no matter what, don't let anybody tell you otherwise,
Starting point is 00:30:32 because I'm telling you, you are amazing. I don't even know you personally, but I know you're amazing. Wonderful. I've been speaking with Gloria Grace Rand.
