Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to Business Innovators Radio, featuring industry influencers and trendsetters, sharing proven strategies to help you build a better life right now. Hi, everyone. This is Dr. Tammy Patser, and I'm really excited today because our guest is Ken Kasha. He is the International Training Director for the Silva Method, and Ken is an expert in life mastery and has been transforming lives. globally through the Silva method for more than 53 years. To look at you, Ken, that seems like totally impossible. So you're doing something right. Thank you. So from turning his own academic struggles from being a D student to a straight A student into success and teaching his mother how to heal herself from chronic illnesses, Ken has a wealth of experience and insights to share. His practical, easy-to-understand approach has empowered more than 200,000 people worldwide.
Starting point is 00:01:09 Today, they'll be discussing the roadmap to life mastery and sharing some incredible stories of transformation. Welcome, Ken. Thank you. Thank you. So good to be here. And I appreciate this opportunity to meet some of your listeners. This is very exciting. And everyone, just to let you know, I've actually worked with Ken taking classes with him in Chicago to do the Silva method training.
Starting point is 00:01:41 And that was quite an experience, Chicago and, of course, the Silva method. So let's just start, Ken. Tell me more about your journey with the Silva method and how it transformed your life for all these years. Just real quick, I just returned from Chicago last night. I just did the immersion of civil life and intuition system. So way back in 71, what's interesting that maybe view is, I know you know this, Tammy, because we know each other. But when I started, I had no clue about this stuff.
Starting point is 00:02:19 You know, it was brand new. The method research from 44 to 66, so this is 71. I'm a typical teenager, more interested in having fun, no real direction or purpose, but I knew I needed to work. So I'm studying and engineering at Boston University, even though I had all the aptitude and I had all the supposedly mathematical ability and I took high-level courses in high school. I was failing.
Starting point is 00:02:50 And there's actually a takeaway for everybody because I came out after two years. I switched engineering to business administration, and I went from D minus to D, literally. It was just ridiculous. So obviously something was wrong with me. And a good friend of mine in Brooklyn, which is where I'm from originally, his sister was dating a new silver instructor in Brooklyn, and they were looking for support. He said, oh, tomorrow, we're going to go to Staten Island and check it out. Anyway, I abbreviate the story because there's just so much that's happened. But I had no clue.
Starting point is 00:03:24 We went, we had a good time, we did our thing, partying, we arrived 45 minutes late, and it's interesting that we sat in the back, laughed, but something happened to me midway through. And I wonder if you can relate to this, just something inside grabbed me. I'm very kinesthetic and very, what they say, cognizant, and I just had this sense of feeling and knowing like, wow, I found what I was looking for. But I didn't know I was looking for anything, and I had no clue what I found. It was compelling and it was scary at first. So I had all these questions of the instructor.
Starting point is 00:03:59 I was the last one to leave the room and there were 120 people there. I went to the library to check it out and I couldn't find any flaws. What he was quoting, research being done at various universities and sleep and dream laboratories. So now I said, okay, I'm going to bite the bullet. So I'm telling my parents about it and I was in a very Roman Catholic dogmatic Roman Catholic background. And my mother turned white as a ghost, took out a rosary bead, started praying for me. All those remember that. And my dad, who was a professional gamblers watching TV, had two games on the radios.
Starting point is 00:04:35 And when I mentioned the money, because I didn't have a summer job, they didn't believe in allowances, but they took care of school for me, which is great. As soon as I mentioned the money, my dad turned around, I guess he was paying attention. And he looked at me, scared the heck out of me. And he said, no effing way. So, whoa, now I'm on the phone with the instructor, and it's kind of interesting, this man, how life works. He said, let's not let money stand in the way. And the money is important. He's got bills to pay. He's got to pay the rent on the place and so on and so forth. I needed a summer job. He needed help desperately in his office. That's how I got in.
Starting point is 00:05:12 And we did a trader, though he got more than his money's worth because I was there every day. It was four days. It went through. And I have to say, I struggled, meaning I was comparing to other people, big mistake, a takeaway, because other people go, oh, wow, ooh, I feel tingling. Me, I would have been happy. My little pinky tingled. Nothing. And what I realized now, as time by, I began to realize, the problem was in here, my mindset, I was obsessing and worrying. Same thing in school. Even though I always had a B plus and I was taking college level courses in sciences in high school, because I was so worried, you know, this is it. You know, we're going to four years and after work.
Starting point is 00:05:55 And I realized that, and then I since learned the science of it, that when you're worried, when you're tense, you block memory. You can't think straight. And you lose touch with your higher thinking functions. You even lose access to intuition. It's the number one, here's a takeaway for everybody.
Starting point is 00:06:11 Number one reason why people are not leveling, scaling up their business. Number one reason why relationships fail. Number one reason why people burn out. Number one reason why, I mean, I could go on and on. and failing when they're living in survival mode, which has been identified as stress mode, the body gets flooded with stress hormones,
Starting point is 00:06:31 which can be too easy for people to happen because we don't pay attention. We're not been taught to manage that energy with this. And that's what I realized with me. Once I stopped comparing, then I started getting into it, and it still wasn't a piece of cake, but I just knew, you know, it just felt right.
Starting point is 00:06:52 And then I met Jose Silver within a couple of months. And Harry McKnight, you remember Harry McKnight, and they were my mentors. And these dudes mentored me, saw something in me. God bless them because they certified me because I was going back to Boston. I was a full-time student. Couldn't do the certification training, which is required. But I was doing more work than anybody. I was in classes constantly helping out.
Starting point is 00:07:18 I did an advanced training. I was a groupie for Jose. I have followed him around everywhere, picked him up at the airport, did that favor, brought him back, and got to know him and got a lot of insight. And in some ways, he took me under his shoulder and, again, saw something in me for that, because they began to open up opportunities. And every step I took, it just felt right. And when people started telling me they're sleeping better, they're able to get rid of their headaches without drugs.
Starting point is 00:07:49 When my mother, I made a cassette, remember cassettes recording of the big, it's our foundation, core relaxation exercise that uses fraction of relaxation. Every day she listened in my voice. She only went to my voice, not Jose's. She stopped having asthma attacks, and she was a chronic asthmatic, and she also was debilitating arthritis as a kid. I can show you a picture. My mom was always in bed, up to about me, age of 10, in the hospital.
Starting point is 00:08:18 So when these things started happy, I was like, what a way to live a life. And I think my hair used to be as long as yours. And I was a wannabe hippie, I think. And I would have done it for free. And when they offered me some money in Boston to direct the graduate organization, I remember telling Barbara, we've been together since 72, my wife, I can't believe it. They actually didn't give me a stipend and a phone.
Starting point is 00:08:45 Back then we had landlines, as you know. And everything just kind of fit into place. I was in, now they've identified a flirt state. I wasn't super lucky, but it seemed like the universe had my back. Just opportunities and moving in. And I found my purpose. I found what I believe I was born to do. And it may sound a little, I don't know what it sounds like.
Starting point is 00:09:10 This is all I've done. I've made a conscious decision to master the silver method. It's profound to work with it. I do other trainings and I work on myself spiritually. But I just, I love it. I mean, it never gets old. I've worked with hundreds and hundreds of thousands. That's an old bio with that.
Starting point is 00:09:30 In-person classes, by the way. And a lot of times when I go overseas doing graduate advance programs, there's up to a thousand people, 500, six, it's common. I just came back from Romania. This was a smaller group, although it was wonderful, 101 of us in there. But the point is you learned a lot and you hear stories from people, and it's so cool traveling around the world because you realize we really are connected. We really are in this together. And we really have so very similar values. I thought it was Italian to be so family oriented and stick with your family. Right. And then, you know, that's silly with this, but that's how my family was with this. And so I kind of found my home and here I am. I make my home in Connecticut. and been here since 80.
Starting point is 00:10:19 And I worked in Boston. By the way, I was the youngest instructor on the planet. I was 19. Now I'm the oldest, not in age. By the way, there's still a few, two or three who are older than me. And they've been doing silver maybe 30, 35 years. But in terms of experiences. So we're working on bringing in new people.
Starting point is 00:10:43 There are some really cool new instructors. I was the most active. there were very few in the U.S. teaching. So in the past maybe five years approximately, I've certified up to about 15, and at least 10 of them are active, and they're really cool, good people. And I mentor them.
Starting point is 00:11:01 We work together, like, how can we help transform people's lives? And by the way, can I just say this? I'm all wound up. You gave me the mic. But it's just important, because I was just watching someone's video who is assessing Sylvie, took it in Argentina, one-on-one with the instructor, not the way to do it. You have this ability, you know this.
Starting point is 00:11:24 We all have this incredible human potential. Jose Silva himself, the founder, always said, I didn't do anything new. But what he did do was he looked for, he researched age-old principles, hypnosis, meditation, what's now become known as positive psychology. Biofeedback was the science of the day. and he looked for common denominators. And he packaged something called the Silver Method. That looks a lot like different things with respect to that.
Starting point is 00:11:55 And that's why it works. Because if people open their mind and heart and listen and follow through, it's, I can't say enough. Well, I agree. I remember the first time that I was introduced to the Silva method. It was in Miami in the early 2000s. And you're right, there is something that happens to you and you just feel it because when you go to level and you start to just relax, your body, you just start to feel better. So I wanted to ask you, and thanks for sharing that story, because I think it's important that people understand that of all of the people around the world, you literally have been.
Starting point is 00:12:43 start out age 19 and have been at it for more than 50 years. That is a long time to carry that conviction and to develop all of the skills and then, of course, to certify other trainers. So the way, sorry to interrupt you. I have to care if I say this very respectfully and very lovingly, even the family members, the children, none of them have this level of experience. even Laura started in the 80s, Laura Silva Casada. And I was one of her mentors and guides. And then I assisted her because Jose family made her the training director. And the family takes turns, who's, as you know, takes turns on who's going to be president or run for different reasons.
Starting point is 00:13:31 So I'm literally the most consistent. And it's helpful because when they listen, I can help them guide them because I was there from the beginning with all the different. if you will, business models. And I've gotten to a point in my life. I know what works, what doesn't work. And, you know, there's no sense in reinventing the wheel. I mean, with our modality. Because we're commercial, but we're not.
Starting point is 00:13:55 You know, most instructors, like I remember meeting you and your daughter. Yes, Christina. The two of you are so heartfelt, so genuine, so authentic, and really wanting to make a difference and contribute and do something. that's my experience of the majority of instructors. And if they don't have, you know, with that, and then if you can earn a living while doing it, I mean, that's a home run with basis loaded.
Starting point is 00:14:23 That really is the truth. If you can earn a living, doing what you live. I wanted to ask you about some of the key skills that people develop when they do the silver method that really helps with their manifestation ability. and all of the things that can be enhanced, you know, your healing abilities, your intuition, just like you said, life mastery.
Starting point is 00:14:50 What are some of those key skills? We've identified, I've identified four. And I think my opinion, number one, might be the most important. And that is the ability to manage your energy, to manage the inevitable setbacks that happen in life, to not let them victimize us, to not victimize ourselves, and to not get stressed out and go into survival mode. I wish Jose were alive because he was criticized sharply. And there's still some very misinformed, uninformed people who are completely ignorant to this because they haven't checked,
Starting point is 00:15:30 but neuroscience is backing up just about everything we've been teaching since 66. And one is, what I was saying about myself, I was living in stress mode. I was in worry mode and my body was flooded with stress hormones. So I was getting headaches constantly, having trouble sleeping. I had not too bad, but some anger issues on a key. You know, like when just something happened and you, or you say something you wish you hadn't said because you've been bottling up. Well, that was me with that. So this first one, now they identified a stress mode and we know because the brain's number one priority, survival, security. So when people are living in survival, they think scarcity. And they don't realize the universe is abundant. And for us to manifest, we need to be in that state and do the work.
Starting point is 00:16:19 It just doesn't happen because we're in that state and do the work. But what's interesting is coaches, you work a lot with coaches. And you've helped so many people, by the way, I'm thrilled seeing that even though we're not working with each other closely now, but keep track. coaches, healers, if they're not centered and balanced and managing their energy, and if they're empath, they run the risk of burning out because they're sucking in, they're internalizing people's drama, and it's really a skill that we teach people when we do the intuitive investigation. And I've become masterful because I had to learn it myself to keep it out there. So that's, I would say, no, just learning how to manage that energy so we can be at our best,
Starting point is 00:17:01 whether you're a high performer, whether you're a business manager, whether you're a minister, whether you're a coach, whatever we're doing is we all have this genius-like ability that we want to bring out and it's nearly impossible to be at your best if we're preoccupied, worried, distressed in that mindset. So I would say number one, and that's predominant. What meditation teaches people how to relax. But we're a dynamic meditation is once you get a thing. into that state, Mr. Silver found
Starting point is 00:17:33 you can think it's a delicate line, for sure, because if you start to use your intellect and think critically and analyze, you're out of it. You know, it's done. In terms of meditation, you know, they say, just let go. You hear some say, be no one, nothing,
Starting point is 00:17:49 nowhere, really? That's like, you know, be here now. So when you get into that state, you can then work skill number two is you got to know what you want. You got to have clarity. clarity is not just knowledge, but it's clarity about a purpose, clarity of your values, clarity of keeping an alignment, your goals, because our goals are targets, quick things, you know, whether somebody wants a 10% increase, or they want a new car, or they want a loving
Starting point is 00:18:16 relationship, or they want to accelerate their healing. So helping people to find that, and when we're in this state, we do a number of exercises teaching them to put your subconscious to work while you're sleeping. and I know I'm talking to the choir with you to come up with ideas and solutions for that. I would say the third skill then is once you have that is to rewire your nervous system, so to speak. This is not silver talk typically, but I love saying it, firing and wiring to create new neuro patterns. And that's what we're doing because we're teaching people how to change their brainwave state to get into a highly suggestible state. A super learning state, literally, Alpha and Thay, which has been identified.
Starting point is 00:19:02 But one thing I thought to share it with you and with the viewers, I just came back from a four-day immersion in Chicagoland. Now I'm back home in Connecticut. And one of the women, her husband, who's a circuit court judge in Florida, by the way, and brought his wife in, and I have permission to use this, Consuelo. This is day three. So we're doing on day one and two, three, five meditations a day. Day three, we're doing 60% of our time in the meditate.
Starting point is 00:19:36 So we're in a middle, she's Ken, you mentioned homeostasis. Would you like to see homeostasis, which, as everyone may know, it's the body imbalance. And when we're in homeostasis, the body heals itself. And all things normalize where they should be. She showed me a readout. She has an app. she has to monitor her blood sugar and it's monitoring her blood sugar
Starting point is 00:19:56 and then it reads out and it shows diagrams on the app and she showed me June 5th up to we started June 20th it was way too high I remember the numbers I don't remember the name of the device was real quick on a break
Starting point is 00:20:10 it was up here she says look where it is now I just monitored it after relaxation it hasn't been this low and I don't know how long and she felt great and it's funny when she came in she looked kind of, I don't know, pale and sickly.
Starting point is 00:20:26 And by the time we got to day three, she was vibrant and a little more active. And this is, you know, what I witnessed, and part of it's because people start finding clarity. Last skill is that in 1950s, 53, when Mr. Silver had a defining moment and thought he was on to something of more value than improving memory, which is how he started. He wanted to help the children learn faster and easier, his children, neighborhood children, but then they started anticipating his questions correctly. And he was criticized by leading parapsychologist, J.B. Ryan, for one, you can't train anyone to have ESP, that's what they called the then intuition. Your daughter must be a natural, and has nothing to do with alpha and theta, although Dr. Ryan then in March issue 69,
Starting point is 00:21:13 in 1969 psychology today, basically reiterated, almost word for word, what Jose had written to him in a letter. I don't know if you ever saw that, but Jose used to travel with it, laminated and show the group, kind of like sticking his tongue out. But that is, we all have this ability to get information, to access in our consciousness, to alter our intuition, gut feeling, the field, source, it's within us, the source, we're a part of it, and get information that goes beyond our physical senses and goes beyond what we've read in a book. You could be a doctor, PhD, and have all this knowledge. But to go even beyond that, just like inventors do all the time, writers do all the time, they're accessing a stream of
Starting point is 00:21:59 consciousness, and then they work hard to bring it to fruition, physically speaking, inventors, technological breakthroughs. And that's what we're helping people to realize you have. this ability and if you know it already how to build on it so that you can sustain it and know the difference between when you're accurate and when you're not when you may be wishfully thinking hoping i was raised by gamblers i don't know if you even know that as i've gotten older i'm 73 in october i've gotten i share even more with that i've just gotten lucid and my dad was a a bookmaker. And I grew up with on track, in, you know, racetracks, in card games, and I watch men who I admired lose their businesses, literally. My dad went from nothing, child of immigrants,
Starting point is 00:22:53 to having everything, put me through college, cash, and then nothing. He lost it all, and it's a long story, but it's a disease, as you know. So it taught me a lot about wishful thinking that people, you know, we all have this ability. So you get an idea, an insight, like I'm watching you with your work. And then you look at what skills do I have? What skills do I need? And maybe I need some coaching. Maybe I need someone to direct me and then to work on it.
Starting point is 00:23:25 And those are the four primary that all throughout 40 hours. It's not two-day training. We did that experiment. It's a bad move. It's not three days. It's four days. and it's best with an instructor, as you know. Yes, I think when I first started, they were doing like a,
Starting point is 00:23:44 it might have been two days or three and a half or two and a half days. No, if you did it with Mandy, it was two days. Well, because Jose gave us permission. We didn't do anything wrong. Yeah. Somebody had the bright idea. I won't even mention his name, but he's very popular on Mind Valley's website, one of our who's recently passed away in the recent couple of years.
Starting point is 00:24:09 And then when we had our Renaissance in 2007, and Laura Silva, the family brought her back. She had been gone since 2000. And I became the international training director. And we're working together. We realized, big mistake. We need the four days to allow people the time. Because you need to be able to integrate it. And one of the things I think is interesting about the Silver method is.
Starting point is 00:24:34 that even in the two days, you do get a great deal. So I imagine if you do the full four days, it is just amazing. So I wanted to ask you a little bit. I mean, my experience with the Silva Method has been that I definitely became a really good manifester. it helped me manifest the property that I got about 20 years ago and I still have. Because, you know, I live on seven acres and that was really big. And I just wanted to ask you, what are some practical things that people can do that could help them to get more focus, get, find solutions and boost their productivity, maybe an exercise they could do or something
Starting point is 00:25:33 that they could do like right away? Oh, sure. Yeah. The basic foundation, first of all, we all need support and practice and it's not a quick fix. So there's no secret. It really is no secret. Where it works is having the support step by step and building on it. And we actually silver as a deliberate practice modality where you get immediate feedback. So I know everybody says, breathe, breathe. So very simply, one way is to find a quiet place where you're not going to be disturbed, ideally to be sitting because if you lay down, you're going to fall asleep. You get so relaxed. It's too easy. Feet flat on the floor. Where you have a safe space, hey, you, you could be by the water, you could be on the ocean, you could be sitting there. I do a lot of my work now in this
Starting point is 00:26:23 warmer weather on my deck. Eyelets close automatically when you close your eyes, brain waves slow down automatically. And then take three very slow, deep cleansing breaths. And we developed this tool, but a simple way is just inhale very slowly and imagine you're breathing in peace. Just think some peaceful thoughts. Hold it briefly. You don't have to count.
Starting point is 00:26:47 Just hold it very slow inhale, hold it briefly, and then exhale, but exaggerate the exhalation. And as you exhale, just think you're letting go of the junk, the stuff, the stress. Do that three times. Simple way to slow down. And you can, while you're driving, do that, obviously keep your eyes open, though. While you're talking with people, while maybe having a heated discussion, and you see that with people. When people are in anxiety mode or depression, the breathing is in the chest. It's very shallow. So it's a known antidote. There's no, it's very, it automatically helps the body produce more dopamine and serotonin, which helps us to feel good. And then if people practice on managing their inner dialogue, that's the toughie.
Starting point is 00:27:34 Because we all have been conditioned to not truly respect ourselves and we beat ourselves up emotion. We expect too much of ourselves. I think a tool that maybe it's advanced for some, maybe it's not. Give yourself permission not to be perfect. That doesn't, It doesn't excuse bad behavior or mistakes, but if I mess up, own it. Now, how can I make it right? How can I turn it around? And so managing the inner dialogue because if we shame ourselves or we start worrying, I can't do this. So this question, I have a video on YouTube, how do I know I'm in alpha?
Starting point is 00:28:13 And I have a silly sense of humor. If you're asking that question, you're definitely not. Because you're in analytical mode. you're questioning, you're being critical. You just got to surrender to the process. You can think of your happy place, something where you've actually been before, we call it the ideal
Starting point is 00:28:30 place of relaxation, that you know it's soothing. For me, it's by the I love the ocean, but we live by a river, and I ride now my bike, it's a long ride, and I sit by the rocks. Sometimes I do videos, but it's too loud because, you know, that sound that the river when it's running over the rocks.
Starting point is 00:28:48 And it's very loud, the spot, But I still do it. So just thinking as if you were there, as if you're there. And then if you're working on, I like to say co-creator. I think we're all co-creators. We're all a part of this field, source, with small parts. All right, call it manifesting. So when you're using your visualization and mentally rehearsing your goals for the day,
Starting point is 00:29:16 imagine them as if it's happened already. and make sure you include the benefits for you and anyone else involved. Very important. It's how you motivate yourself, but you want to elevate your emotions. And all the research shows that affirmations, positive statements by themselves are very weak. Visualization is very cool. There's some great studies, high-level university studies, about visualization and changing brain, showing your development there.
Starting point is 00:29:46 But when you do it in a state of elevated, positive emotion. That's when the imprint, so you're making believe as if it's happened, even though it hasn't, and then if you're, if it's your clients, them getting the benefit and reporting the benefits, if it's yourself, you know, that new car, you're taking your bestie for a ride in your new car and so on and so forth. If people do that, they'll, they'll report to you noticeable improvement. There's more. Yeah, I know. There is definitely more. So we have just a few minutes left.
Starting point is 00:30:24 So I want to make sure that people understand that there is a four-day immersion program. And I want them to know if you can tell them how to get in contact with you so that they can find out more about the program and how it works. Because there is a lot involved in the Silva method and the fact that it's over four days. and so how can people get in contact with you? Real simple. I have a website, Silva Method C as in Charlie, T as and Tom, Silver Method CT.com.
Starting point is 00:31:04 Or if you just look up Silver Method, Chicago, Boston, or Connecticut, I'll come up because it's optimized that way. And I know most everybody out there so I can direct people. I'm regularly in Chicago here in Connecticut. and I would also say there are a lot of books on the silver method that people can read and get good value. And it's a way to be introduced to the program
Starting point is 00:31:29 to see if it's a fit for you. Because the silver method may not be for everyone. But it's been that, it's been wonderful for millions and millions around the globe and it's up to each individual. So, osteism, if they want to call my numbers all over the website, I make it clear, easy, I like talking. to my students and sharing ideas and helping them to make sure it's a good fit for them with that.
Starting point is 00:31:54 So everyone. Can I say one last thing? Yes. Just as a courtesy to people, this is on us. I don't own the company. I'm not the family, and I know you know that. I'm an influencer, but I also don't make policy. And all the books out there are great, and they all use the old language, basic lectures.
Starting point is 00:32:16 series. That's what Tammy and I took. It was called the basic lecture series, and it's originally, and it was meant to be four days. Even the way Jose taught us, you need that time. In 2007, literally, we had a renaissance, and almost everybody in the world came on board. And all we did was we added some of Jose's advanced material. It's truth be told, the basic lectures, move some things around, added that, and made it much more relevant to the modern era because people were saying it's like you're still in the 60s and 70s and I've been teaching it since 2007 that's why geez almost 20 years and people who did it 40, 50 years ago when they come in they love that. It's the most impactful. I mean it can be spread out but
Starting point is 00:33:05 when it's four days in a row it's more demanding. That's what really makes the difference, the transformation. Thanks. So everyone, make sure you reach out to Ken at the Silva Method c.com. Just look up Silva Method, Connecticut, or Ken, and his last name is spelled C-O-S-C-I-A, correct? Correct. Okay. So everyone, this is Dr. Tammy Patser. Go make it a beautiful day.
