Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey, guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
Starting point is 00:00:12 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Tired and sick.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you. you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on, a Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman. Multimillion dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud. But how long can this alliance last? Tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
Starting point is 00:01:11 That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headlines. And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment and the stuff nobody gets to hear. Listen to SportsSlice on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slic Life 12 and the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. Papa Team 6, I hope the trash is taken out.
Starting point is 00:01:40 I hope your morning routines are going splendid. I hope you're getting a little action from Wifi. This is episode 13 of 4. Starting point is 00:04:10 That's where you go. Shop to you drop. That's a great shirt right there, busts with the boys. It still ain't fixed. Authentic Dad Gear. That would be Willie One Shelf. My specialty right there. Sherm.
Starting point is 00:04:23 Another episode. Another sewed. Another episode with incredible feedback. If you look at our YouTube, this past last week was our most engaged with episode on YouTube. Yes. Over 250 comments. That's crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Shout out PT6. Shout out PT6. And you would love to know that when we were out in Arrowhead, we went to the Nebraska-Sense game in Kansas City. Oh, yeah, yeah. In Kansas, Kansas, Ohio State, on Saturday. You would love to know that there were. a number of fathers and fans of the For the Dad show. PT-Sixers, like, shopped-it-out?
Starting point is 00:05:04 Yes. Like a couple of that, like, you know, the show, what I love about, like, just how organic it is, the messages we get, whether it's in DM or the comments, but like conversations, not, hey, fan of the show, got a couple of those, but a couple of dads that are like wanting to shake my hand and not pull me aside, but you feel pulled aside just so they can tell you how much they appreciate the For the Dad's brand. A couple equipment managers came up to me. No. Love what you guys said on For the Dads.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Really? Love what you guys set on. For what team? That one was one came up from Texas. Okay. And then obviously the Huskers. Oh, yeah. You know, I'm always shutting out the Husker boys.
Starting point is 00:05:45 But Texas, a cat came up to me. And then I think another equipment manager who was just an equipment manager in his past life came up to me. There and a couple DMs. too. Like DM's coming into the for the dad's page. Yeah. We're trying to find his name real quick. But shout out to the USF. That's right. Yes.
Starting point is 00:06:05 He is sending us a bunch of stuff. Yes. I'm a big fan. Alex Golish, former Tennessee office coordinator, put to some B2A on Boise State. Both ass did on Boise State. Yikes. Gooned on those boys.
Starting point is 00:06:20 They did goon. Goon Barais infiltrated Boise State. That quarterback is the general of the Goon Barreys. dude he was disgusting dialed dialed in it's it's funny too because the equipment manager audience i'm going to say they got a fan base they are tight they're tight they're tight they're tight they have accounts that are just like texas a and m football equipment i had yeah by the way jeremy is his name shout out jeremy yeah shout out jeremy you see us a bunch of stuff shout out go voles shout out oh go bulls are they yeah yeah they are they they are they they are they they are they
Starting point is 00:06:56 South Florida Bulls. South Florida Bulls. Yes. Sorry, I thought you said VALS. That's on me. Shout out the Vals, GBO. Yeah, yeah. Shout out.
Starting point is 00:07:04 It took our business. This is not a football show. This is not a football show. For the wife, tuning, because I know we got a lot of milk team sixers out there. Yes, dude, we do. And that was my other shout out is the wife of the Arkansas Razorback equipment manager.
Starting point is 00:07:21 D-Med Jilly Bean. After seeing us go to the Baylor game, with Scarlett and was like, you have inspired me to, I thought I was gonna miss some of the season this year with our newborn, but you have inspired me to now go to the games and try bringing the newborn. Dude, that's what it's about. I know, that got me really jacked.
Starting point is 00:07:43 It was sick. Also, to your point, for the first time in my time at Busson, I had a Seaman Team Sixer come up to me and he was, His name is Johnny. Yeah. Young cat. And yelled my name from like a mile away,
Starting point is 00:08:03 ran up to me, had a boys hat on. And he goes, I got to keep it a buck, dude. I'm SC6. I don't have a kid. But I'm Seaman Team 6, baby. I fucking love for the dead. I was like, oh my God. I gave him the biggest hug in the entire world.
Starting point is 00:08:18 I was like, Johnny. Oh my God. He said, I have a podcast every single day of the week. when I'm working out, I didn't have a Wednesday one. I said, oh, fuck it. I like Will Compton. Let's see what it's all about. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:08:32 I love that. I swear. Hey, buddy, listen, I want to step on your territory. I'm an SD-6er. ST-6er. He was like, I don't want to fool you. I'm not fully PT-6. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:42 I ain't a dad. I ain't trying to be a dad right now. He crushed it, dude. I was dying laughing. Dying laughing. I talked to him for like 20 minutes because Jill was in the mom room. Just. Keeping it, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Well, we'll get into the storytelling because I'm super curious how that. We haven't really gotten to talk at all. And we've seen each other in the, like we've seen each other in the shop. We had to do busts with the boys earlier. And I've been intentional like, let's not get too fired up and talk about us going. Someone will learn. Yes, I've been trying to stay away from you. Because when you left last week, you're in the bit of a dog house.
Starting point is 00:09:16 I was. You were in a bit of a dog house situation with wifey. That's my dad loss. Okay. We'll get into it. We'll get into it. Yeah. Should we rip off some comments at the top of the episode?
Starting point is 00:09:25 and shout out people who've been in the comments section. Please, can I start because I have an apology? I want to get in front of something. Go ahead. Go ahead, Pat Stafford. Because this, hey, Fat Stafford, first off, thank you for all the Fat Stafford comments. They make me laugh every single time. Secondly, I was seeing some comments specifically directed at me.
Starting point is 00:09:44 And I was not offended. If anything, I was, I was a little bit heartbroken because Will had mentioned it one episode and was like, talking to Mike, talking to Mike. I come in, our two guys behind the desk. They're always killing it. They also giving great production notes. Hey, Sherman, make sure we're getting a lot of comments talking to the mic. I was like, damn, because I've been reading that too.
Starting point is 00:10:05 So I just want to read out Zach Davis, 2402. He said, pop a team six member here, huge fan of the pod. Could be just dad ears. It's not, Zach. I've been leaning away from the mic, and I'm sorry. I'm going to try and get better. But Sherman needs to speak into the microphone. That's great accountability.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Thank you. And that's good hand up post-game presser, facing the noise, not running away from it, and saying, this offensive operation starts with me. It does. And this is a podcast at the end of the day. I get comfortable. I start laughing. I feel like I'm just talking to you, but I got to remember, I'm right here. Speaking of the mic.
Starting point is 00:10:44 Speaking of the mic. I have a few. There are a lot that I screenshot it. Okay. And I have a few that's more on like the serious side of things. Oh. I'll start with JJ Smith. He titled it IVF.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Hello, my name is Carl and my wife's name is Ali, and we just stumbled upon the IVF episode. Will did with his wife. My wife and I, if you guys can recall, on Mother's Day, we dropped a Mother's Day episode where I had my wife on bus with the boys and we talked through our IVF journey. We're going through our second round of IVF here in a few weeks trying for our first child. As a cancer survivor and the problem being on my end, we're going through it together. The advice they gave on that episode between the communication and not having a timeline, the whole story in general was inspirational. I think in life there are signs and stuff when you pay attention and the fact that I came across that episode and heard what we needed to hear at the right time as a sign.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Relating heavy on all the feelings you guys went through between the pain, shame, guilt, and helplessness that was described. I felt so hopeless at one point, but being more open about it and seeing the situation can happen to anyone and their positive outcomes is what we need. needed and was bringing tears to my eyes at times. JJ, I appreciate you for being vulnerable with your boy in the DMs and sending that message. Yeah, I think IVF is something that isn't talked about a lot because it just feels, what's the word I'm looking for? Taboo. Yeah, taboo.
Starting point is 00:12:10 Yeah, just because everybody has a different journey with pregnancy. People try over and over. You know, I have, my wife and I, we were very fortunate that Scotty was our first attempt with IVF. And we have a lot of close friends that have tried time and time again. Some still trying through. They're like on their fifth round of it. But JJ, I just wanted to let you know I read that message. And I really appreciated reading it.
Starting point is 00:12:33 I'm glad that episode helped you guys out. And again, a big theme in that episode was it's not about being strong or seeming strong. It's more so about staying connected with your partner. So I'm glad you stumbled upon it. It warms my heart and fires me up. And thank you for reaching out, my friend. it's a great comment hard thing to talk about and it's cool that you're opening up on the podcast and allowing people to feel like they're having a conversation or feeling more comfortable to
Starting point is 00:13:04 have a conversation about said subject yeah i think it's awesome yeah i appreciate that my friend you want to rip off the you want to rip off the next one i got another one okay so we have our friend zach on twitter i don't know if you saw this will but he put out a tweet of a washer that was disassembled, fully disassembled. I sent it to chef. He can put it up on the screen. Okay. He tweets at me, which, thank you, Zach. He said, dryer goes out 18 days before I joined PT6, good. I could teach old Willie one shelf a thing or two, huh, Shermstew, which I laugh so hard because I'm like, he's wrapping me in with him of like, I would know what the hell to do with disassembling of washer like
Starting point is 00:13:50 Willie wouldn't know what the hell to do with this. They're between me and you and the handyman out here. A couple of indie guys sure would know. I was like, dude, I would have no idea what to do.
Starting point is 00:14:02 And he had a great reply and said, YouTube University, which I'm a big believer in YouTube University. Yes. Yeah. I really am. Yes, King.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Yes, King. So, Zach, shout out. Shout out King. Yeah, shout out King. I got one from T-O-2-2. Okay. Sitting in the hospital one day in the fatherhood, our room had a recliner chair in the couch.
Starting point is 00:14:27 I hopped in that chair, laid back, and my wife, fresh out of surgery, turns to me from the hospital bed and says, you better get on that couch, you're not going to get the couch badge. I had no idea. She was a milk team sixer that fired me the hell up. Shout out your wife.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Oh, my gosh. I'm so glad you picked that one. I read that one, like the day, it dropped and totally forgot about it. Oh, WIP, hey, you better get on that couch or you ain't going to get that badge, son. Hey, what the hell you think you're doing? You're going to be in chair force one like, sure? No. We got, uh, my, okay, my Les Pascoll. Best day of the week is Wednesday when the pod drops. Thankful to be a part of PT6 hands up emoji. Thank you, my less Pascal, and I'm sorry for the pronunciation. Nice. Nice. I thought it was going to be a longer one.
Starting point is 00:15:17 No, no, shorter one. Shorter one. Zach Hussie, 4736, huge fan of For the Dad's Pod, bused with the boys, and inside the bus. I'm basically a lieutenant in PT6. I've got five kids. Four girls in one boy. I repeat four girls. Good.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Good. Their ages are 10, 9, 8, 6, and 5. My God. What is that? That's 5 under 5. Did he write my God? That's five in five years. Did you say, my God?
Starting point is 00:15:47 Did he know. I said that. He's just, I'm just, I'm rattling it off. I'm like, holy shit. Been in the trenches so long. I've got a thousand yard. Dad's there in a black belt and bedtime negotiations. You guys are the reason us battle dads keep our helmets on. Love you boys and everything.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Y'all got going. PT6, Lieutenant Hussie out. I love the idea of the karate belts too. Yeah, black belt. He's got a black belt negotiation at bedtime. I love that. I have a pretty long. one here. This comes from
Starting point is 00:16:19 at 2. Skawi. Shout out Derek. Shout out Derek. Let's go. Derek on the scene. Derek on the scene. Are Derek or Derek comment? Oh no. Shout. Sorry. The comment was from two Skowie and it
Starting point is 00:16:37 just said shout out Derek. Oh, God, yeah. Harder. Yeah. Yay. Oh my gosh. What, oh, I had another fun one. I was trying to find the other one because it was so funny. I found this one.
Starting point is 00:16:56 I Burn Easy 7379 on YouTube said, Shirm out here looking like a bookie at a Florida dog track. Bro, I'm here for it. I saw one on Twitter that I desperately was trying to find that said, Sherman looks like he buys storage units. With the visor in the button up. We need some storage units. units. We should buy some storage. Get a Pt6 fund going.
Starting point is 00:17:20 Don't messes of storage units. Start showing up and just flashing all the bills. You watched Storage Wars? I loved storage wars. Good show. Great show. Shirm does look like you go in. As soon as I read that, I started dying laughing. You spot some of them really in the back and you lobe all them. No one knows. No one knows. The video game ones would always, those would get me stoked. Yeah. I do have a shout out that I could. wait to save for the actual pod. Okay. Because it deals with the Baylor game. So I'll actually hold on to that one.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Okay. Zane Scott 24 found out a couple weeks ago. I'm going to be a girl dead. Good. Just found out last week. We're having twin girls. Good. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:18:06 I scared the shit out of me, bro. I don't know what I would do. I don't either. When we were talking to Roan at the Super Bowl. Yeah. And it was fun talking to him. dinner because we were kind of in the same, you know, calendar schedule of like entering into Dadhood.
Starting point is 00:18:23 And he made a great comment and said, yeah, sure. And basically everything that you've been through just times it by two. And I was like, oh my. Yeah, bro. Scary thought. I got one from Jake Peltola, Pt6.0M. So he has PT6 in his YouTube handle, which that's pretty electric. He said job, full-time school, three kiddos under the age of five, stress through the roof for the dad's pod football season and lift heavy for the mental refresh.
Starting point is 00:18:57 Good, good. Good. Good. I love seeing the PT6 in the username. I know. Yeah, in the username is big time. Oh, yeah. Jay Noble, 1120, gentlemen, I think I speak for all PT6 and concurring branches of the PT Army here.
Starting point is 00:19:16 reason this podcast is so legendary is because of the vast range of emotion experience you have watching from it from absolute hilarious and relatable stories to dialogue that creates inward reflection and betterment is truly unique how y'all can pull it off organically keep hanging one shelf and waging war against the squatting raccoons because every time you do pt6 grows stronger p s fad stafford will be in my thoughts and prayers an entire week with the house to himself what cruel and unusual punishment from the loving wife I forget you get the week now. Yeah. I get the week now. There is a developing story on that that happened about five minutes ago. No. Not five minutes ago, more like 30 minutes ago.
Starting point is 00:19:55 Good. They're coming home. Good. Worse. They're staying. They're staying. It's not that I tried to text the true goons chat with timeout, time out, time out, time out. They're staying. Where are there right now? Oh, they're staying in Texas. My family, if you weren't listening last episode. We discussed that unfortunately, so I just went on a trip to Texas with my family. Correct. That was fortunate. The unfortunate part is my wife and my sweet baby girl Scarlet. They're saying for an additional six days until Saturday, I will be home alone, unfortunately, house to myself, just me and the do, with nothing to do. Except until Saturday. No.
Starting point is 00:20:40 I will have nothing to do except play video games. If I can squeeze it in. Fuck. We have a group chat with all of our Gooners, our video game group. And we usually like to send in that Batman jiff where he's standing on the building and the bat signals up in the air. And I sent that to Truitt Glover, who I haven't spoken to in three years, instead of True. goons group chat. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:12 And he replied in like 30 seconds and said, bro, what up? I don't know what I'm going to follow up with. I'll tell you what, you do. You're going to be bored. You're going to be very lonely. Here's what I'll do for you. Okay. When I get home and I'm going to talk to the wife.
Starting point is 00:21:31 And I'm going to really good friend of mine. He's feeling very isolated and alone. Yeah. And I need to go be there for him and support him. You got to go somewhere and leave it? No, sweetheart, that's the, that's one thing I told them where I draw the line. I don't leave the house because I got a family to protect and a family to hang out with. But from 830 on, every night, I'm going to support them over the headset.
Starting point is 00:21:56 Yeah. This little place we call Discord. Do you think you could do that for me tonight? You do not have to do that, dude. I know. And trust me, no part of me wants to. Yeah. Because I love getting to bed early.
Starting point is 00:22:11 I love being a father. I love being a husband. Maybe Tuckins running a little late. Yeah. But to be there for my friend, it would be, it would not only be an honor, but I feel like a responsibility to have your back. Can I tell you some even worse news of when I came in today?
Starting point is 00:22:30 Taylor was even saying he would be willing to do the same for me. It's a big ass for all the boys. Yeah. Can I ask a question? Yeah, go ahead. What was the developing story? Because I always thought you had the house to yourself the entire time. I do.
Starting point is 00:22:47 It was that I texted a guy I haven't talked to in three years that GIF. Oh, the developing story has nothing to do with your family. No. Oh, gosh. I just didn't know how to reply to me randomly texting this guy. And then him being like, oh, what's good, bro? And how do I? Because I don't want to be like, hey, I was trying to text my video game chat.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Sorry. Yeah. Yeah, I'll figure it out for you. I think I'm going to have to approach the wife with, sweetheart, you know how I've been bitching about playing video games. You know how I hate it. Yeah. And trust me, I don't want to do this, but sometimes
Starting point is 00:23:23 discipline is choosing what you want most over what you want now. I don't want to have to walk upstairs and play this game. Yeah. What I want most is a loving home. Oh, that was the speaker. Oh. But I need to do what I don't want to do. and let's go go in with the boys.
Starting point is 00:23:42 Yeah. To throw it back to episode three, the harder choice is usually the right one to make, dude. Not to challenge you and not to throw that into your corner and add some extra pressure. That's what PT6 says. Accountability. If you need to check me, you got to check.
Starting point is 00:23:58 Yeah, yeah. All right, we'll finish it off. This is a serious one, Sherm. Oh, okay, okay. Legitimately. I'm locked in. I'm locked in. This is from Chuck It Up 04.
Starting point is 00:24:16 Need some support guidance from... Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what? We have some big news. What's the news? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it.
Starting point is 00:24:29 We just contributed to our first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts. We're starting a trend. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey, John? Jonas, guys. I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
Starting point is 00:24:53 This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
Starting point is 00:25:38 I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in.
Starting point is 00:25:58 I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves. their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down,
Starting point is 00:26:21 give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered. Sports Slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to Sports Slice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slices Life 12 and the TikTok podcast. network on TikTok. Papa Team 6. My fiance is 17 weeks pregnant and sadly she ruptured. We got a bad prognosis for our baby girl.
Starting point is 00:26:47 How do I go about being supportive and strong while also being sensitive to her? I can't imagine what she's going through as she's putting some of the blame on her and her body when that couldn't be farther from the truth. Begging for guidance for a guy that's dreamed of being a girl dead. That kind of hits. Gosh, I hate that, man. That's so hard. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:08 I first off thank you for yeah yeah I appreciate you for sharing that man and bro I would say there there are no words my truest advice would be your presence will be better than any advice that you could give her and don't minimize your own grief and your own pain to feel like you were posturing and being strong I was saying a little bit ago that it's not necessarily about being strong it's about being connected and i would say um just sit in it with her be there for and just do small things because there are at times like when you're a dad like when you're the guy in the relationship you feel like uh you're kind of useless or there's nothing that you can do because your body's not the one going through it yes and when you're
Starting point is 00:28:05 when your partner is going through something, you're in totally different mindsets at times. You want to lead with like an optimistic quote or something that's going to make her feel strong or you're being strong for her. And what I've learned is it's not necessarily about that. It's just being in it with them and trying to do whatever small things you might be able to do,
Starting point is 00:28:29 whether it's do a load of laundry. Yes. Get her, you know, from my wife, like, you know, an ice latte. having picking up around that like doing things that when she sees you she's thinking like he's thinking about me even though he might not have the word yeah yes a hundred percent in a very vulnerable emotional state all the little things are going to seem like really big things on the bad end of the spectrum but to your point on the other end of the spectrum those little things are also going to feel like big things too those little small victories of making sure the couch and all that stuff
Starting point is 00:29:03 looks really nice and pretty, doing the dishes, doing those little things around the house as far as that kind of support. The only advice that I would give to this guy that shared this is be accessible to your wife emotionally, allow her to pour into and onto you what she is feeling and experiencing right now, make sure that you also have that person, maybe not your wife, but have your own person that you are able to do the same. Because you're going to be there for her. And to your point, you said, like, make sure you feel this and, you know,
Starting point is 00:29:47 right. Don't minimize, like, you know, men are. Men will put off their grief. And again, you want to be a strong guy. And that will allow you to be there for her more if you're able to offload that stuff with somebody else maybe and process that other than that dude just like best wishes and
Starting point is 00:30:05 you're a son dude i'm sorry you guys are you guys went through that that's hard um yeah and being vulnerable with your wife like talking to her about your what you're feeling your fears yeah your anxieties your openness gives her permission
Starting point is 00:30:23 to lean on you yeah if she's feeling like a little shut in that's a really good note because a lot of times So your partner wants to know, hey, are, how are, like, is he going through something? Like, does he feel this the same way I do? He seems very stoic right now, kind of, you know what I mean? Yes. This leads directly into my dad loss with the communication stuff with Jill.
Starting point is 00:30:46 There's a perfect example of it. Let's get into it. Let's get into the dead law. We do got to keep it under an hour. We have to keep it. We have to keep it tight. Right. We have to keep it right?
Starting point is 00:30:55 Eight minutes. Eight minutes? Nothing with nothing but 52 minutes. minutes to go. We're rolling. We're rolling. Dad losses of the week. Dad losses of the week. I texted Will about this. I don't know how much of the details I'll share of it because I forgot
Starting point is 00:31:09 to talk with Jill about me sharing this on the pod. Don't want to get you back in the dog house. Don't want to get back in the doghouse. But I'll share enough to where I don't think she'll be upset at all. Oh, and Chef is back there saying, hey, we can always. Yeah, we got to protect
Starting point is 00:31:28 the fathers out there. That's a good man. That's a good man right there. It's a great man. Our captain. Chef on the sticks. Come on. Um, dad loss was Jill for like three days seemed very quiet around the house and was not short or rude with me, but just like very quiet. And I was like, I feel like something's up with Jill. Like what is going on? And I allowed for like a ton of opportunities of, you know, asking, asking, is everything okay? to no avail, came up to this guy, my kind of billow buddy at work, and I said, hey, I know we have a really busy day. I have one serious question for you really quick.
Starting point is 00:32:11 I feel like something's going on with my wife, and I want to try and let her know that, like, I'm here to listen if she wants to share anything. Will gave me some great advice of tell her if there is nothing wrong and I'm being crazy and overthinking this, you just let me know, but I will ask you one last time because I really want to know your heart. I am interested. And I didn't just recite the line because I was like, oh, this will get it. But it was true. I was like, I want to know, like, what is going on? And she briefly shared that she was not feeling prioritized in this time in our life,
Starting point is 00:32:55 which is totally understandable. There's a lot of stuff going on with work. There's a lot of stuff going on with Scarlett. There's a lot of stuff going on with planning this family weekend that we just had. And with all that moving pieces, there's not a whole lot of like Jill time or Jill and Sherman time. And my dad losses, I kind of screwed up on being able to like schedule that time and prioritize that time. And then we had a really great follow up text of like, I got to get something on the calendar. truly on the calendar where it is like this is priority number one i'm i'm sorry no i cannot do
Starting point is 00:33:37 that extra thing or i got a jet because at this time i'm doing this with my wife like we are doing it so that was my dad loss so they also turned into a dad win that's good yeah yeah yeah it's awesome i'll tell you this you're not the only one going through it not that there's been anything that's happened with my wife and i but something like dad loss related is kind of just my own personal losses. I'm feeling like I'm starting to feel like guilt could be creeping up just because the season is underway.
Starting point is 00:34:12 And I legitimately, like I am a big believer that if you don't write it down, it won't happen. If you don't truly prioritize it, like people talk all the time, and I'm guilty of this too, but you talk about like, you know, people talk about like faith, family career or you know career and family and all this stuff and it's uh it's nice to say but to put into action what the action usually looks like is you're so balls to the wall career wise because you
Starting point is 00:34:41 want to be really good you want to be great at what you want to do like we have an awesome we have an awesome brand not only for the dads but busts with the boys we just did the partnership with the ESPN will be in new york every thursday morning on get up and there's just a lot of stuff coming down the pipe and I just I know myself and if I don't intentionally get something on the calendar to prioritize my wife and not only prioritize my wife but also like prioritize time like with my girl so where I do like a one-on-one with Rue take a little Scotty Joe or take the kid so Charles can go and do something because she's a grinder and she's very she's awesome she's a foxhole partner yeah I'm telling but I just knowing it I know something will come up if I am not being
Starting point is 00:35:26 the intentional husband and the intentional father and the whole thing and seeing how the world of family fits into the puzzle and the chaos of career because it's it goes to the it can go to the backburners like subconsciously even though it's a priority for me because you want to be so good at everything you're doing in your career like again we do it's like we got we're reacting the games of the weekend yeah for busson we got our interview that we do with busson we got our podcast that we do with four the dads. We got streaming that we're going to do on Thursdays. We're going to be on Get Up Thursday mornings.
Starting point is 00:36:00 We're going to be doing fall tour stuff to where we go to games on the weekends. The locker room. Oh, yes. Our two gambling shows, college football and NFL, the locker room where we're doing fan dual picks. And to execute at a high level on all of those shows, there's a lot of study and prep work and things I feel like I can't be out of the loop or left behind because as we get bigger, I feel like there's more audience and more expectation on being able to deliver and know
Starting point is 00:36:24 what I'm talking about versus just spewing things out into the world. Yeah. So even when I'm home, there's times where I feel like I got a structure, study time, and prep for the day before. And in doing all that, it gets pushed under the stack of these hypothetical papers of career, my family and my intentionality with my wife. So that is as a dad loss and feeling, you know, you're like, Will gave me great advice. I'm thinking, I need to fucking take my own advice right now.
Starting point is 00:36:53 We all, because I do, it's like, days can go fast, bro. Yes. And they get away from you. Yes. And if something's not on the calendar that, hey, I'm intentionally thinking about this and prioritizing this, then you're going to be more in a reactive state when you are, when that conversation does happen. Yes.
Starting point is 00:37:11 It's like, I want to get on the books. I want to get in like a cadence of, you know, getting childcare for the night. My wife and I, like, get in a hotel room. We do a staycation and just have like a night to ourselves and wake up and go to a coffee shop. Yeah. Um, just stuff like that. And it's like, it's, it's, it's on the whole, you know, the quadrant of urgent, important, important, not urgent, urgent, urgent, not important, not important, not urgent. I feel like that is like, it's just, it's been in my mind like the last 48 hours since we've gone back from Columbus that, man, I've got to get on my shit.
Starting point is 00:37:43 I do too. I felt that way this entire weekend with work, weirdly. I've been feeling that way with Jill. and then when I was like on vacation, then I was feeling that way about work. Yeah. And so I was like, okay, I got to make sure I'm, you know, tweeting about this Baylor game and, you know,
Starting point is 00:38:01 taking pictures of Scarlet and blah, blah, I got to be doing a good job of because I was overreacting with like wanting to prioritize Jill and lock in for that and didn't want to have my phone out too much in front of her and trying to find that balance. And which it was fine. I mean, Jill is not a phone Nazi or anything. And she's not sitting there going like,
Starting point is 00:38:21 Are you doing this for the dads again? Right, but you're, you're conscious of... I'm in my own head. Yeah, exactly. And I know for me, dude, I don't know how it is for your workload and getting all, like, chasing all these rabbits and feeling scatterers. And I get like that, I get a lot, I get a lot of, like, anxiety about it. Yes.
Starting point is 00:38:39 And I know for me, it's like, Willie C, Willie One Shelf, take one hour at the top of the week or take one hour, wherever it is, wherever you can find an hour just to have focus time. on how I'm going to prioritize the month out, the weeks out, write my priorities down, whether it be busing for the dad's locker room. And then on the family side, like if I want one-on-one time with Roo, if I want one-on-one time with my wife, like writing those things down and then fitting them into the puzzle.
Starting point is 00:39:11 And even study time, like prep time. Like I know I'm going to need this, but I don't want to casually do it at the end of the day when my wife might be thinking, hey, we can catch up and watch a show. Yes. Because then I'll watch said show, won't do any prep worker study,
Starting point is 00:39:25 and then I'll be, you know, scrambling before I get on said show the next day, trying to like cram and figure it out. And then my, like, again, I just, I have to be somebody that prepares. Yeah. Those who, what is it? Those who fail to prepare, prepare to fail.
Starting point is 00:39:40 That is, I am that. I also like doing, I got to do a day night with Jill on Saturday, which she did a good job of making the reservation, all that stuff. But I was like fully for it and, you know, happy to, you know, we're taking care of Scarlet. And it's the first time somebody's watching Scarlet. It was my mother-in-law. Shout out Lisa.
Starting point is 00:40:03 She said, I need to shout out her name whenever I bring out my mother-in-law. I say, I'll start doing that. I got you. Into the mic. That's on me, Lisa. But she watched Scarlet. And sitting in the booth with Jill. And it felt like we were dating, like, before we even got engaged, like, just as, like,
Starting point is 00:40:25 you have, like, two or three cocktails. You're splitting appetizers. You're splitting salads. You're splitting the entree. And we're just, like, in the booth together, just, like, cuddled up. And she's getting all, you know, like, cozy and scooting up close to me and stuff. And I'm like, dang, dude, it's been a minute since we've done this. And that's really sad.
Starting point is 00:40:47 Yeah. That makes me really sad. Because I do love Scarlett and I am so excited and wanting to raise her and all that stuff. But like prioritizing my day one, my girl, I got to do it more. Yeah. And then you're in those moments and you're just like, you feel like you just forget. Yes. Well, and it.
Starting point is 00:41:07 How to court your day one, like just being in like a, like date them. Yes. Jill calls it becoming a roommate. Yeah. She was like, I feel like I'm your. roommate right now. And I am having fun being your roommate. You're a good roommate. But let's go back to like dating and, you know, I'm like, I totally get it. Totally get it. So it was good. It was a dad loss, but it was a good wake up call, especially going into this busy season of like,
Starting point is 00:41:36 dude, it's about to be even more crazy with everything that's going on around here that you really need to lock in. Yeah. And to the point of my therapist, which I've yet to to do this. My homework, I said it here on the pod doing the four pillars, Sherman, work, friends, and what was the other one? Sherman. Jill. I was going to say, dude, I didn't hit the family part yet. I just did it again. I just literally did it again. Jill, family. I got to do it. I got to sit down and do it. I am sorry, therapist. I need to do my homework. time in. I see him next Wednesday. I'll have it done. One hour. What do you mean? Just get to schedule
Starting point is 00:42:23 it all like to prioritize to write this stuff out. Oh yeah. You talk about those four pillars like put pen to paper bro. Quick potty break to shout out our sponsor liquid IV. Are you soaking up the last bits of summer before you get into your fall routine? Are you going to hit the outdoors? Starting point is 00:43:47 days of summer. I know school's back in session, but it is technically the dog days of summer. It is hot. For the dads out there who are football dads, this is the dog days of the season. Because I hope you guys all had a great time watching all the college football games over the weekend. I did as well. And then I sit there and recap and reflect on like, you know, how do you get better from the side of like family and hubby? Yeah. So although I hope you enjoyed all your games, I need you to watch tape, I need you to self-scout on how we can get better at home incorporating that. I'm already thinking like, okay, if I tell Char to get out for an afternoon.
Starting point is 00:44:31 And look, you can't get around it. NFL's on Sunday. College is on Saturday. The NFL industry is trying to take over basically every day of the week. Yeah. If I'm going to tell a wifey to get out, I need to have a game plan. I can keep Rue at bay. With Roo, I can affect them.
Starting point is 00:44:46 pocket i can stop the run i can get her thrown outside the numbers i can get you disrupt her at the line of scrimmage yeah i can do those things for scottie for scott zilla she's a different little animal i'm looking at their little rugrats pins like okay maybe you know if i get a little panther some toys in there and kind of just let her lose so that way she's in a vicinity that's one it's like what is it you can't stop them you can only hope to contain them yeah that's got zilla yes i was seen those videos of rue with the harmonica just being so sweet, doing her harmonica thing. I look in the background. Mother-in-law's just hunched over Scottsville.
Starting point is 00:45:23 Scott Zill is like on a mini bar, like trying to just tear it apart. Like, oh, my God. That's my crack of cult warners. We've got this little harmonica, and it is the most adorable thing ever. She hits the whole one, two, three, and just starts blowing in it. I'll send you the video so that way we can play it on the show. But, dude, it is, it is adorable. So that one, that's when I sit there, I'm smiling.
Starting point is 00:45:46 like I can correct a cold with that one. Also new friends at school. There was, we did like our first little like, not parent teacher conference, but something like you meet with the teachers and kind of go over what they do in the classroom, go through a day in the life
Starting point is 00:45:57 of a kid at the school. And so we got to meet a few new parents and there's just one gentleman I met and I'll keep their names out of it. But they had just started that day. You made a new friend. I made a new friend. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:46:09 New little dad friend. Then exchange numbers or nothing like that. Okay, okay. Playing it cool. Yeah, playing it cool. And, uh, But made friends with him. They had just started that day, moved from the Northeast.
Starting point is 00:46:19 That was their day one of going to school. Oh, wow. And his daughter is in the same class, same age as Rue. So I go home and I'm talking to Rue about this new friend. And I'm like, oh, was it her first day? And she said, yeah. And I'm like, do you feel like she was nervous or scared or anything? She's like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:46:36 And I'm like, were you nervous or scared your first day? She's like, yeah. I was like, when you see so and so tomorrow, you should go and be like, hi, I'm Rue. And ask her to play and be friends with her and be really kind to her. because I'm sure she's really nervous and scared, just like you were on the first day. And you want to make her feel welcome. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:52 And ever since then, each day she brings up this little, this, this toddler's name. Oh, really? We played together and did this and that, so they seem like their friends. So it, like, warms my heart that Roos taking the practice tape and taking it out to the game. This is literally, we brought up Bluey before the episode.
Starting point is 00:47:09 That was the episode of Bluey that I watched it over the weekend. How good is Bluey, buddy? I was so wrong. I had the coldest take. like episode one or two about Bluey. I'm sorry. What did you say about Bluey again? I said, oh, the kids are yelling at the dad in the show. I don't know if I want my kid watching that. What an L take. Yeah, that's a, what a Baylor versus Auburn L. But to the point, quickly. People hate what they don't understand. They do. People hate what they don't understand.
Starting point is 00:47:37 Bluey makes a new friend at the park. Guess who the friend is with at the park? Their dad, blues with her dad and the dads start becoming friends as well on the little part of days. It's a good show. It's a good show. It's a good show. I'm glad that you made a new friend. Is there a follow-up plan where are you going to hang out with this guy? Just a little play, play hard to get. I like that. You know what I mean? I think next time I go over shake hands, hey, my daughter was telling me this bond over our daughters being friends type angle. You know what I'm saying? And maybe just take the bluey route and just go little, you know, park hangout date. A little park sash.
Starting point is 00:48:13 Oh, yeah. Matter of fact, we got a park hangout later today. So we got to keep the show under an hour. Okay. Gotta keep out of an hour. Because it's Labor Day. It is Labor Day. It's Labor Day as we record this.
Starting point is 00:48:24 Yeah. Hey, and by the way, I said last week that if you guys wanted your, you wanted stuff to be potentially featured on the show to comment within those first 48 hours, thank you. That was, it was a little stressful going through all the comments and screenshots. And I have like eight more on here that I didn't get to because I'm thinking, and we don't have to, you know, we can't just sit here and talk YouTube comments. I wish we could. I know.
Starting point is 00:48:47 But thank you. And Derek, you've been crushing and responding to everybody. Let's go on. I was checking. I was checking seeing all the replies. I see our little for the dad's logo. But this has been our most,
Starting point is 00:48:56 last week was our most comment on episode. Yep. And twice sent Derek a tweet that was like, bro, this would be great to engage with. And before I sent it, I didn't check to see if old Derek had seen it himself and engaged with it.
Starting point is 00:49:11 And both times I looked at, like a fool because for the dads was right under that tweet he's already engaged he's one of those teammates to where you might think you're telling him something but they've already picked up the pace to where you're like okay i need to pick up my shit and guess what he doesn't do oh or he did it he would never you thumbs up one of them and then i look at like it said you know two hours ago for the dads i'm like oh man he's big time he's on it one thing i do want to say a lot of the comments we're getting in voicemails there are some people who get a little defeated if they don't see theirs on the show
Starting point is 00:49:45 and feel like you guys aren't seeing them. And so I'm making it my priority. No matter if we talk it on the show or whatever it is, comments, DMs, voicemails, emails, Will and Sherm do see as much as humanly possible. There's a lot of people who are like, I don't know if Sherm's going to see this or I don't know if Will actually looks at these.
Starting point is 00:50:01 These two, just to confirm the community, care so much about you guys. Number one priority is getting those in front of you. Just so you guys know there are people out there saying that we're getting as much in front of you too as we can. Let's go. Just on Derek saying that, just again, because we did all the comments at the top of the episode. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:17 And I didn't read any that Derek and I were sitting here talking about going over. But shouting out, Kylie Cantor, not sure if Shermer will, to your point, not sure if will, Shermer will actually see these. But if so, thank you guys for the podcast. You've really helped my husband have a healthier mindset entering fatherhood. We're seven weeks into the trenches with baby boy. And having the pot has really helped him have a more positive outlook on those 2 a. diaper changes with a little heart emoji.
Starting point is 00:50:44 He's got me listen to each week and we both thoroughly enjoy. Another one from Martha Byrne from Milk Team 6, Milk Team 6 operator here. I'd like to issue a Bravo Zulu to Sherm and one shelf for fully indoctrating my husband into PT6. My favorite was when it's his turn to change a blowout and all I hear upstairs is good. Kennedy Tress, line for PT6 was with a wife on the Pupp list. Hey, I know the doctor said six to eight weeks. Boy, what is your orthodontas say? He says,
Starting point is 00:51:16 he says it'll get a chuckle from your wife and then you hit her with the, you play your cards right. Daddy'll mount you. Wait, I didn't tell you about my deployment of said line last week, did I? No. I used the line.
Starting point is 00:51:32 And it got a big chuckle. Just in front of her wifey in front of jail? Oh yeah. We're in the kitchen. She's kind of, she's getting a little bit an attitude with me kind of reminded me. Did she bend over and put a dish in the dishwasher and you kind of give her a little hump? That's my go-to. I was acting. I was acting. She's trying to like kind of get on to me because I'm not good in the kitchen. Yeah. And I'm being goofy and,
Starting point is 00:51:55 you know, her tone's getting a little more angry and stuff. I said, in the way you're talking to me right now. I kind of like it. And she gets more angry. I said, there you go. Yeah. And she, that kind of broke her and she started laughing. I said, you keep on talking to me like that. my mount yet. Yeah. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. And she chuckled.
Starting point is 00:52:16 She didn't chuckle. Off the pub list? I here's, okay, I knew that this was coming and I just wanted to say. I was even thinking until just now, just to be full transparency. It's totally fine. I want to be respectful of my wife, so I don't. Okay.
Starting point is 00:52:32 But, uh, oh, not to change the subject. Did I tell you six flags over Texas? Have you been to that theme park? Not the. No, not Six Flags. I've been to Chicago and Cincinnati Six Flags when I did a little
Starting point is 00:52:45 a theme park tour, amusement park tour with my boy Logan back in the day. Okay, there's a great ride there. It's called Shockwave. It's been closed for like six to eight weeks. We got to ride it. Yeah, you did. It was a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:52:57 Yeah, you did. It's got two loops on it. It's a quick one. It's a quick one. That's got two loops on it. It's fun. It's a good coaster. So you hit Shockwave.
Starting point is 00:53:08 Yeah, we wrote Shockwave. Nice. It was great. Nice. It's a fun coaster. If you're on I-30, you can see it from I-30. I'm picking up what you're putting down. Come on.
Starting point is 00:53:21 Okay, crack a cold one. We've got to keep this one under an hour. Did you already say your cold one? Oh, just Scarlett over the weekend. Absolutely crushed it. She talked yet? Not yet. Yeah, it takes a while.
Starting point is 00:53:34 I keep on. Scotty, all she says is da-da, dad-da. No, does she? Yeah, she says dad-da for sure. I'm saying. All she can say is da-da-da. And I'll be like, da, she'd be like, da, da, da, da, da, da, da. Da-da-da-da. Yeah, Scotty is a monster, bro.
Starting point is 00:53:51 And then she starts to ripping that toe into the hardwood floors. Bro, she is squirly, man. I've yet to interact with Scott. I got to get around Scotty and just like. Gotta get around Scott. Yeah, and we got to get Scarlet in on that energy. Like, I want Scarlet to, like, kind of pick up on that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:08 If Scott Zilla rub some of that off off on Scarley, I'm more than happy. Okay. But Scarlett, Scarlet's kind of her own little beast. She's kind of killing it. Yeah? Tell me more. Tell us more.
Starting point is 00:54:19 PT-6ers want to know. PT-Sixers, let me tell you. What are we, two, nine weeks old? This will be right now, her two-month mark. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:33 Her two-month mark on the third. Okay. Let's go. So the weekend was great. I told Chef and Derek, minus the, bailer game result flawless weekend truly flawless weekend i told i told you on that text i was like it was so refreshing it was like jill and i connecting really well we're doing all this fun stuff back in our
Starting point is 00:55:00 hometown we're introducing scarlet to all of our closest friends and family we took scarlet to the baler game we made it all the way till the three minute uh 20 second mark when jackson arnold put the nail in the coffin and I was like all right I got to get my baby girl back to the hotel room because it was hot was it because she couldn't make it anymore is it because the game was well game game was we were trying to be good parents and jill was wanting to go back and she was being very sweet and letting me stay and once on that fourth and whatever it was fourth and three and they scored I was like okay we can leave it's fair and I got one of those little bike uh whatever they're called shout out those, dude.
Starting point is 00:55:43 Shout out those bike, whatever they're called, man. You know what I'm talking about? No. The pedal bike. The pedal bikes. They're like the little taxi drivers. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Dude.
Starting point is 00:55:54 We took that from... Buddy. Buddy. We took that from McLean State. Oh, I fucked up. I had a better dad loss. Or not a better dad loss, but I had another dad loss.
Starting point is 00:56:04 But anyway, Scarlet was my cracker cool one. She killed it at the football game. She killed it at the wedding. she killed it on the flight um she slept you hit the bottle on the way up the ascension hit the bottle right before takeoff and she literally hon that's for their ears by the way any new dad's coming into pt6 that is for their ears that's for their ears don't pop feeding the pop in the bottle as you're taking off i'm like super uh on the day i didn't i like hardly slept before the bailer game was truly butterflies you would have thought that i was playing in the game the whole
Starting point is 00:56:41 I know what you're saying, bro. I was like going into Husker Sinty. I was like, I have nothing to do with this game. But these 18 to 22 year olds, I feel so emotionally invested that I felt like I was playing, that I felt like I had a 30 play third down call sheet where I had to go over every check. Yes.
Starting point is 00:57:02 What if we go to empty? What if they motion to empty? What if they go from empty and back in? Are we getting back to the original call? All these things go to my head are, am I going to get exposed today? that I felt on game day as a pro. Yes.
Starting point is 00:57:13 And in college, I felt that on just us playing the Cincinnati Bearcats. So I feel you, my friend. Couldn't see. It felt, yeah. And on the way to the stadium for the game, I started to get tired. And that is exactly how I would operate,
Starting point is 00:57:28 like even on game days for myself, is you're just amped. You're trying to do all these things, my little game day routine, study habits, everything. And then we're taking the team bus over. And for whatever reason, I feel like a little sleepy.
Starting point is 00:57:39 I feel like it was like a big nerves thing. Yes. I had to go to Dutch bros, shout out Dutch bros. Yeah. And get a little ice americana with two espresso shots right before the game.
Starting point is 00:57:49 Guess it off. Because I also was feeling tired for no reason because my heart was doing this the entire day. This is it. I'm trying to rush Jill. I'm trying to get the thing on Scarlet. We had like this black.
Starting point is 00:58:02 We bought a black one for the blackout, uh, whatever little chest mount. And I'm trying to rush it. Jill's like, you're going to hurt her leg. You're rushing. You're frustrated.
Starting point is 00:58:13 You're trying to get to the game. You're not taking your time and being sweet to Scarlet. What did you say to her? I literally, I backed up. I did not say bitch. I didn't. I swallowed it.
Starting point is 00:58:25 I said, she's right. It doesn't matter if we're there at kickoff because they don't sell beer in there. And I know Jill wants to have a good time and I want to have a good time too. Crickets is right here off Franklin Street, one of my favorite bars back in the college days. I'm going to go introduce Jill to that. We're going to go get some drinks. And then we'll
Starting point is 00:58:44 take one of those trolley bikes. I know those trolley bikes come by crickets and we'll take that to the game. Best decision I ever made. I love that. And you also reacted to what I said so quickly that new listeners might be thinking we call our wife's bitch if they say something wrong. Oh yeah, we don't. But we knew. No, no, I didn't call her a bitch. I did not call her. Wait, what did you say to her? Hey, did you do that thing that we always do where we call her wife a bitch? I didn't do it that time. No, what I didn't stand. What I did instead, I was actually, I was like nice for once.
Starting point is 00:59:16 But, oh, dude, it was great. And we only got in like two minutes after kick. We only missed like the first drive, which was fine. We scored a field goal on the first half. I love it. And then my shout out really quick, you follow them on Instagram, taking care of babies. Yes, great follow on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:59:37 That's the company that redid all the mom rooms at McLean Stadium. No way. Yeah. And buddy. You want to talk about the trenches? Is that mom room, dads are allowed in it? When I walked in there, it was a true war zone. It was unreal.
Starting point is 00:59:59 I'm talking like moms literally like breastfeeding. I'm like walking in there truly like eyes to the carpet because I'm not trying to see anything. Right, right, right. There was some dad in there that a million percent told his wife, I ain't going to a fucking mom room. You can go there by and she let him have it. Because he was sitting there Indian style in the mom room just rubbing her back with like, wasn't even watching the TV with the game on it in the thing, dude.
Starting point is 01:00:27 He was truly in hell, just rubbing her back. with the blankest stare and she's just, I only look for a second. I didn't see anything, but she was breastfeeding. I was like, buddy, I'd feel you. Buddy, I feel you. He was Auburn Tiger, so he had nothing to be sad about. It's the time where you need, like, we need just something, the little PT six pens you just throw off. I know.
Starting point is 01:00:54 I wanted to. Yeah. Throw him a lifeline. Yeah. Hey, bud. Good. You could tell the other moms in there when dads would walk in, there was like a collective like anger building of their husbands.
Starting point is 01:01:08 That dad could come. Why couldn't you come? Yeah. And then I'm feeling bad for my PT-Sixers out there because I'm like, oh, no, they're going to get it once she gets back. Because she's going to be like, there were six dads in there. Yeah. And guess who wasn't in there?
Starting point is 01:01:22 You. You're fat ass. What are you talking about? The fuck. I bet them dads ain't in there seven beers deep. Was he wearing one of them golfizers? One of them goofy-ass golfizers? I bet he was.
Starting point is 01:01:42 Yeah, baby, I'm not one of them gay ass. Was he a Baylor guy? I bet he's barely one. He had a polo on. He's probably a Baylor bear. God, I don't know. Unreal. Was he wearing a fan of paper?
Starting point is 01:02:00 They had some tight-ice jeans on it. You see his boots? through his jeans that's another thing dude don't let your boots show through your pant leg yeah i've learned that the hard i saw a lot of that going on this weekend kind of hurt the heart and then i'm so sorry i've been talking so much to wrap up the game i wasn't going to bring this up but i'm going to bring up on the pod because it it actually is a funny story i have no animosity towards uh war damn eagle country and i think you guys played a fabulous game and i love auburn fans and i have have a lot of family there, Auburn Tigers.
Starting point is 01:02:36 I'm glad you said that because, all right, we have a huge audience. That's Auburn. That's all Auburn. So many people hit me up on Twitter said, hey, Gigi's firm. Gigi's fat saffers. Sorry, we had to do it to you. War damn. But there were these two guys that were borderline blackout drunk in Jeline
Starting point is 01:02:57 and I seats. And I think it was my first time having to be a dad. and step up to handle a situation, and things got dicey for a second. Please go on. So I show up to the seats, and they're in our seats, and it is crammed. I mean, this game is packed.
Starting point is 01:03:18 And I say, hey, I'm 14 and 15, where their butts are. Seats 14 and 15. Oh yeah, what am I green for you, man? They like scoot a little bit. I'm like, okay. Bleacher? Yeah. I'm like, all right.
Starting point is 01:03:31 And so I don't say anything. Jill's not really picking up on it. there was a non-call, passing interference call that was very viral on Twitter that was in the end zone right in front of me. I'd go, what was that? Very loudly because I was upset in my home turf. And for the rest of the game, dude, when Baylor would mess up, this little dude on my shoulder, drunk as a skunk, is bumping me and going, what the hell, dude? Auburn is the passenger fears every play dude man like just trying to get in my head but he's like bumping me and I'm bumping Jill and so Jill's like you got to do something like you have to say
Starting point is 01:04:15 it's time to step up dad and I was like I got to be a fucking dad in this moment it's time to be a pop of seal and I slowly turned over him and I said hey what's your ticket for like where your seats and he goes what dude what I was like where Where are your seats? Because we're 14 and 15, you're sitting in 14 and 15. They're like, our cousins in the band. Our cousins in the band, dude. What are you talking about? I was like, well, you're bumping into me, and I'm hitting my two-month-old baby right there,
Starting point is 01:04:46 and you're in my seats. I don't care if you're cheering for Auburn. That is fine. And you can make fun of Baylor, that's okay. But once you start bumping me and now I'm bumping my girl, and she's holding our little scarlet, and it all worked itself out. it got a little dicey.
Starting point is 01:05:02 I had to stop talking because they started mouthing off and then some Auburn fans kind of got in the mix and helped us a little bit. They were seats like 28 and 29. They were like a mile away.
Starting point is 01:05:13 They're in the wrong seats. Did they get up and go? Yeah. We got all figured out. They got a little dicey there. I'm sorry, I just talked for a very long time. You go. I just talked way too long.
Starting point is 01:05:28 I'm not sitting here waiting on my turn to talk. I'm listening to your story. Yeah. I'm thinking I don't know if I enjoy how you just ended that story. I know. Like I needed a feel that your presence is actually there. Hey, you keep bumping in me.
Starting point is 01:05:45 There's going to be a problem. So the girl, okay, so the girlfriend, I'll go a little bit more into it. Right now, you can fill the rest of the gaps with your own imagination. I'm thinking, you know, maybe Jill said something to him. You just sat there. No, okay. So Jill said you need to, did I say that part that she said you need to say something? So I started it.
Starting point is 01:06:06 Like, hey, be a man. Yes. And I stepped in. But I was going with like, I was going like with the smart ass thing because I'm like, buddy, you're in my fucking seat. Like I was being nice at first, but now you're just a drunk asshole in my seat. There we go. Like, where are we doing?
Starting point is 01:06:20 And he's like, I mean, our cousin's in a band and we're like, we're trying to watch you. I get it. I think your baby's really cute, dude. I'm sorry, blah, blah. And I go. yeah, but all of that, you're in my seat. You're in my seat. And he's like giving me all these excuses.
Starting point is 01:06:36 And at the end of each one of these excuses, I'm like, yeah, but you're in my seat. And then his girlfriend tried to step in and be like, wait, if it's such a problem, we'll move. We'll move if it's such a problem. And then Jill darts out with Scarlett. It's like, we're here with our two-month-old and your friend is bumping into us and bumping into our baby. And they're not even in the right seats. and then that's when like people started coming in to be like yeah yeah like get like so jill jill did
Starting point is 01:07:06 yeah she had the finishing she had the finishing she had the finishing she don't just mess with you but it you should have hit him with i don't care if your cousin's on the goddamn fields right i wish i did but dude he would he would have started some shit he was drunk enough he was right this is a kid show i don't know you'd be out there like just vocalize some dad's thinking those. And then he said this, good. Yeah. We're sitting at home and on Twitter.
Starting point is 01:07:33 It's, you know, Baylor-Vair fan gets a fight around two-month-old. And they're like, is that just looking? I literally, as I like clocked out, once they started moving, they... Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news. What's the news, name? Huge news.
Starting point is 01:07:47 We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide. range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special.
Starting point is 01:08:02 So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Well, we were thinking, I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down?
Starting point is 01:08:20 Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey Jonas. and then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 01:08:38 or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all. embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Starting point is 01:09:00 Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect. We were God's chosen kingdom on earth. He felt destined for greatness. So when a swaggering Armenian businessman,
Starting point is 01:09:25 catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back. Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey. I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across. When Jacob met Levant this plant to a billion dollar fraud. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive? The largest tax investigation in American history. need to tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me?
Starting point is 01:09:59 Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life. Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. We're like chatting the whole time, like, turning around being like, hey, don't sit next to him.
Starting point is 01:10:17 He'll have a problem with you, blah, blah, blah, and like making a scene. And I'm just saying in my head, I'm like, please no one be filming this. Please know what I'm doing this. Sure, I'm sure. And they like say something back to Sherman. Shirm just hits him with, You don't want to see me angry.
Starting point is 01:10:32 And I'm not intimidating at all. I'm not intimidating at all. All right, we're going to take another quick potty break to bring you True Classic. The Boys are sponsored by True Classic. Look at my man, Shirm over there. Everybody keeps saying, Fat Stafford, buddy, you look stacked. I didn't want to say it.
Starting point is 01:10:50 I didn't want to say it. Talking to the mic. I didn't want to say it. And again, apologies for not speaking to the mic. But fat Stafford's looking good. Looking like Stack Stafford, baby. Hey, boys, you want a better shot at Mount your wife out there? You throw on a true classic tea.
Starting point is 01:11:06 I know Jilly Bean was watching you walk around the house last night. Hey, Shirm Dog, boss man. Yeah? You've been working out? Oh, honey, you know I haven't been working out. Something about you looks different. Oh, it's just, we're sponsored by this T-shirt company, True Classic. I'm wearing one right now.
Starting point is 01:11:25 This is a True Classic. And it hugs me in all the right places. It excites, hides that little tummy. It's got fat Stafford looking good, baby. I'm going to go put Scarlet down for a minute. You can tackle me in the bedroom. How about that? I would love to.
Starting point is 01:11:38 Maybe you... Here's the cool part. True Classic just launched. A boys line. For those boy dads out there, you can match, and honestly, it's way better than those awkward family photo outfits and cheesy pajamas. You get to show up together, feel comfortable, and actually look good doing it.
Starting point is 01:11:56 The crazy thing is True Classic has already sold over 25 million shirts to more than 5 million customers with over 200,000 five-star reviews. So I am definitely not the only dad who's figured this out. Sherman's not the only dad who has figured this out. You can find them at Amazon Target, select Costco in Sam's Club locations or just head to trueclassic.com slash for the dads. Trust me. Grab one and you'll thank me later. jealous that the boy dad's got the boys line coming jealous jealous jealous tree classic dot com slash for the dads slash for the dads
Starting point is 01:12:33 potty breakover back to the episode uh should we go survival kit yes quick one weaponups i think i might have shouted them out before but again uh scotty's having a great time with her little llama webbing up she's got a little moosey she's got deer and she's got llama she loves them all i cannot subscribe to the webbing up culture enough you know you've heard of tyke tyge you know the lure of Tygey. Yes. You get Wobb andubs. They got the little passy on the end. They might get weathered. They might lose the passy. That'll be their little stuffy for life. So Wubbunubs, that's my survival kit, something to have in the kit. If you're going to become a new father, you got a little one right now. Webbingubs, they're the way to go. Love Wubinups. We have two.
Starting point is 01:13:11 Rolling into my dad hack, please. So we were on the road, obviously, with Arrowhead and Ohio State. When we were at Ohio State, it's Lee Corso's final game, right? Doing the last mascot head. That's so cool. There were a lot of different mascots at the game celebrating league course. So I'm thinking to myself, I have to get a photo with each one of these mascots so I can go home and show Roo. So my dad hack is just shouting out, taking photos with mascots. No way. And going home, I had to travel. I wanted to travel because I wanted to get photos with mascots, some of your favorite animals. You know, I got with the Clemson Tiger, Brutus the Buckeye, the West Virginia. What's their? Oh, the Mountaineer. The Mountaineer.
Starting point is 01:13:52 but it was a cat. Was it Kansas State? It might not have been Was it Willie? It couldn't have been West Virginia. They were holding a Pat McAfee like he was like young, like a young picture of McAfee
Starting point is 01:14:03 so I just thought it was like West Virginia. Oh, okay. Who else? Were they blue? No, it was a cat. I'm off. But either way there's a cat, got one with the tiger,
Starting point is 01:14:13 got one with the Buckeye. Let's go. The duck? Oregon duck? Got the organ duck? Yeah, got to. Because Rue has this massive fear of mascots.
Starting point is 01:14:21 Oh no. Yeah. Whenever I took her to the Vanderbilt game, she was very scared of the Commodore. Commodore's a little spooky. Yeah. But there was also, they were playing Texas Longhorns, so the Longhorn was there. But she was a little nervous, scared of the mascots. So it's always been a thing.
Starting point is 01:14:35 Yeah. I come home and show her mascots are nice. Mascots are good people. Yeah. They're very kind, even though they're wearing the big head. Yeah. Like, they're good people. They're great.
Starting point is 01:14:44 Good family. Great, great. Great family. I said, wow, look at these mascots. Oh, wow. Those are good, very nice mascots. And duck, very good mascot. Great family.
Starting point is 01:14:54 He quacks. He does quack. That's my dad hack. Take photos with mascots. Show the kiddos when you get home. I love that. Quick survival kit and dad hack for myself. You have the survival kit, mom cozy bottle brush kit.
Starting point is 01:15:09 That came in handy this trip. It's basically just a on the go. It's the brush with a squirt nozzle so you can put any soap that you like to use to wash your stuff. Nice. It's kind of nice. Got a nice, buddy. It was very quick.
Starting point is 01:15:25 Like, you get through that, that, that, that. Also, shout out Gracie, dude. We were bumping some of her songs. Yeah, I was putting Sherman on Gracie's Corner before we started the pie. And we were just, we were viving before the show started. Eat your veggies. Eat your veggies. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:39 Eat your veggies. She's got it. Whatever it is, she's got it. Dad hack. Chat GBT, GBT's story time, dude. I did it for the first time. Write a story about Scarlet. and her mom Jill and her dad Sherman
Starting point is 01:15:54 and how she wants to be up in the stars tonight because the stars are so bright. Boom. I said make sure it's four minutes long, five minutes long. And it was the best story of all time. I was like, I'm going to be doing this all the time.
Starting point is 01:16:09 Oh my God, dude. That's a great dad hack. Thank you. I never even thought about that. My wife will hate it. She for whatever reason just hates Chad. She hates the AI stuff. She's an OG.
Starting point is 01:16:20 That's fine. She's smart. She can write very well. She's like, you know, one of them, you got to embrace the game. It's the game. It's the game. Maybe it's the game.
Starting point is 01:16:29 But it sounds like Charles got game of her own. Some natural ability. Yeah. She'll be like, Willie one shelf. Why don't you challenge yourself to write a story? Sweetheart, I would love to, but that'll take me days. Has she been calling you Willie One Shelf? No.
Starting point is 01:16:44 That's good. She's laughed at a couple because obviously Willie One Shelf and the Fatsdavort stuff is taking on a... I was about to say Jill sent me a couple fat Stafford. ones. She thinks it's funny. Yeah. Shirm can add real quick. Yes. To Sherm's AI thing, my uncle showed this to me because I have really young cousins that he
Starting point is 01:17:01 made this for her. You can go, I forget what the website's called, but you can make an actual like story time book, upload your picture, uh, Charles picture, Ru and Scottie and then make like an action. It'll do like a drawing
Starting point is 01:17:17 short story with pictures of them, which I thought was like insane when I saw. Yeah, AI's a different beast, bro. Your boy Nick sent me that. What he just said? Yeah, but he just said. Shout out your boy Nick.
Starting point is 01:17:31 Shout out Nick. Which slowly kind of becoming my boy, Nick. Hey, Nick is the homie, bro. He's so sick. He's a good dude. He's texting me on the side. The nicest stuff, dude. I did the ad reads one week on here.
Starting point is 01:17:46 He said, natural with the ad reads, bro. elated. That was elated. I do have a what are the odds. Please, quickly. Okay, keep it under an hour. Keep it under an hour. We still got that hotline and lesson. His name is. I have it right here.
Starting point is 01:18:06 Sorry. What are the odds brought to us by a fan duel? I just want to apologize to the Huskers out there that I put on Nebraska minus six and a half. They did not cover. They did not hit. I think there's a lot of optimism coming out of Lincoln right now. But my apologies. And I don't.
Starting point is 01:18:21 apologize because I technically only said smash that over on the Baylor Auburn game and what happened the overhead over it I did I'm just saying he did uh Taylor hall he's part of that war damn eagle country uh for this week's what are the odds shout out fan duel he laid a little bit on me and he said I'll race you for slip Sherman money line Auburn Baylor for diapers so I have to buy diapers for Taylor Hall and send it to him and he's out of Virginia. I'm not going to docks him, but... Out of VA.
Starting point is 01:18:56 He's out of VA. And Taylor, congratulations to your Auburn Tigers. I will be following up later this week, and I will be sending him... What size did he say he was? I think he's huggy four-month. So I'll be sending him some huggy four-month old... No free shout-outs, Huggy.
Starting point is 01:19:17 No free shout-out tuggy. Don't be doing bonds to the pod. Don't be doing that shit. now. I do want to shout out Cody Bova. Y-9. Y-9-L, I believe. Last week, Dad Lost, I was talking about morning routines. I mean, we use a sticker chart to help get the kids ready in the morning.
Starting point is 01:19:36 If they fill it up, they get a little toy. Also a survival tip. Keep an extra Roku remote hit and toddlers love to walk off or lose the remotes. Nothing is worse than getting the kids already asleep. Ready to watch a game and then spend the next 15 minutes looking for the remote. but I love the sticker chart, dad hack, love the support. I was at work, grinding away on a Friday before college football starts tomorrow. Go dogs. A wife calls me water broke. Headed to the hospital now, ready to join PT6.

We will be sending you one for calling into the show. that is iconic. That is iconic. We need a follow-up. Hey, we got somebody. They're on their way to the hospital.
Starting point is 01:22:05 Yeah. Their wife's water broke. Yes. She's probably breathing right now. And he's like, hang on, baby. You got to make a call to the boys real quick. Hey, join a PT-6 here. I just got the phone call.
Starting point is 01:22:19 My name's Tyler Pruitt. I'm in Georgia. How's that work? Grinding away on a Friday before college football. All starts tomorrow. Go dogs. My wife calls me Waterbrook.
Starting point is 01:22:30 Headed to the hospital now. Ready to join PT6. This shit's crazy. Talk you all later. Bye. Go dogs. So he's meeting his wife at the hospital. I like to envision his wife right there.
Starting point is 01:22:44 Get off the phone. What the fucker? What the hell? But that's a Georgia Bulldog. If he's a Georgia Bulldog, I bet the wife's on it too. Yeah, 100%.
Starting point is 01:22:52 Now, honey, you called the boys, right? You told me you're going to be part of PT6. Tell him I'm joining Milk Team 6. I told him this she's crazy, honey. Thank you for your ovary, sweetheart. He killed it. That's awesome. Tyler, that's an all-time.
Starting point is 01:23:06 Yeah, I would love a follow-up if we can get a follow-up with them. Yeah, we just want to make sure everything went all right. Yeah, absolutely. We'd love to know if everything went all right. Get to the next one. Hey, Will & Sherm, this is Aaron. Not your ideal target audience. I'm not married, no kids.
Starting point is 01:23:22 I'm obviously a female, not a male. but really just wanted to take the time to say you guys' love for your children, your daughters, especially, well, you only have daughters, but I'm flumbling, is just so encouraging. I'm calling because I have the best girl dad in the whole entire world and just, yeah, that's all, I mean, it honestly makes me emotional, but to hear you guys speak so excitedly of your girls and just the future that they have, I mean, my dad's had the biggest impact on me. in sports specifically. I mean, I think we spend every single Saturday on the couch watching every single game from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. just the relationship with him, but the relationship we've had with sports has me as a 23-year-old working in the sports industry because of him, and it's just really, really special. And I just, I think it's awesome what you guys are doing with this platform and the love you have for your girls. So thanks for being awesome girl dads and just know your influence is so
Starting point is 01:24:21 strong because my dad's my favorite person in the whole entire world and I hope your girls feel the same for years and years and years to come. Keep it up. I've watched every single episode on Wednesday. Again, not your target audience, but you got something going and it's great and y'all are awesome. Dude, that's
Starting point is 01:24:37 awesome. You can't tell right now your boy, yeah, you got water in the eyes too. That's I think that's every girl's that dream right there. Is your daughter talking about you like that? That's good, bud. Ah, bad radio. the hardball G-baby scene playing right now
Starting point is 01:24:55 son of a bitch Gano don't do it to me she brought the whole damn house down she brought the whole house down we got Tyler Pruitt in bulldog country go dogs calling us on the way to the hospital and I got this girl that I've never met in my life
Starting point is 01:25:13 making me cry what the hell not even a parent just want to call in show love because she has a great girl dad I can't even talk about it that's crazy I can't can't even talk about it. Wow. Thank you so much for calling in. Like, does it. Yeah, thank you. That's crazy. That's cool, man. I want to talk about it, but I can't. I'm going to, I'll start cry. I know. It's like the water started to fill my eyes. Every Saturday, watch his ball,
Starting point is 01:25:44 like she's in the sports industry. And I will say this. I won't cry saying this. Shout out her dad. Shut out her dad, man. He's for sure. a PT-Sixer. He's a legend. And your daughter's 23. This isn't somebody, you know, I know for myself in their 30s with such like retrospect on what your parents did for you that those types of words are coming out now. Yeah. And when you're like older. Truly. This is 23. Yeah. Like fresh out of college and knowing how good of a good of a dad she has. I don't feel, I'm, I'm not saying this for like, oh, Sherman, you are a desert. But like, I don't feel deserving of that type of phone call.
Starting point is 01:26:28 That's crazy. Yeah. That's so kind. That's unreal. Because she's 23. It's like that, like, Roo's only three right now. I, I, you hope in 20 years that's how she's talking about her old man. Yes.
Starting point is 01:26:43 I'm like, we, I won't lump you in there. I'm an idiot on here talking about Goombarees and Road Shockwave and being a goofball. And there's something. 23 year old that's like these guys are great that's talking about mount our wife if you play your cards right daddy's gonna mount you and we're good dads i'll take it i'll take it absolutely got to catch you got to catch you proverbial ball and hold it and you know what we are like that the mission statements has it perfectly we're just messing up along the way but we're trying yeah we're trying Let's get to our lesson.
Starting point is 01:27:22 I brought out the old The Daily Dad from Ryan Holiday to me, this is a staple that all dad should have. You don't have to sit here and agree with every page and everything that's written on here, but there is a lot of quality, a lot of good stuff. I was reading on a part last week. This is August 20th, and it's titled Encourage the Dream. It's not that parents don't believe in their kids. It's that they know the world is hard. They know that the odds are long. and most of all, nobody wants harm or crushing disappointment to come to their children.
Starting point is 01:27:55 That's why we discourage them from dropping out, from trying to make it as a musician, from quitting their job to start a company. We're just worried. Will Ferrell, one of the greatest comedic actors of all time, as we've talked about, certainly challenged his parents in this way. You're going to become a sketched comedian? What? Even his father, a working musician had reservations about his pursuing such an uncertain,
Starting point is 01:28:17 an unstable career. Thankfully, he caught himself before Will came to him for advice, putting his very natural, understandable worries on the back burner. Roy Lee Farrell led with support and belief. You know what? I think you have the skill, but it takes a lot of luck. If you don't make it, don't worry about it. You can just try something else. Roy Lee was communicating to Will from his own hard one experience, just how hard and unlikely success was in one of those much dream. dream of career fields. He was saying, you're talented and I believe in you, but it's going to be really hard, so hard that if it doesn't work, you have to understand that it's just a reflection
Starting point is 01:28:58 on the industry and not on you as a person. That is an incredible gift to give your children permission to try, along with permission to fail. The signal that you'll support them either way that nothing changes based on the path they choose, the heights they reach, or the marks they fall short of. Encourage the jury. Thank you, Ryan Holiday. Daily Dad. Shout out the Daily Dad. A lot of great lessons. A lot of great stuff in here. 366 meditations.
Starting point is 01:29:26 I know I said this in the first episode on parenting, love, and raising great kids. And that's not a bangers. That's not an ad read. No, it's not ad read at all. This is a book that sits, it doesn't happen every day. I'm not going to sit here and tell you I am perfect at reading this book every day, but it's a book that sits on our dining room table, our dining table, day because we eat we eat dinner as a family every day that we possibly can um and as we're eating
Starting point is 01:29:55 i usually read a page on the day of yeah and it's okay to skip a you know if you miss if you're not home for a couple days or you're out on the road and you miss just pick open the book and go to the date that the date that you're on i worry about catching up just read yes i feel like that that type of book is a really good gateway drug for somebody that's trying to get addicted to reading like those little daily it's an easy read very much like the coach I already forgot the title of that book
Starting point is 01:30:24 but the one of my dad's playbook Coach's playbook that your old man Papa Sherm gave us Yes I do we have time that I do my lesson Yeah Do we have time That question is for you
Starting point is 01:30:35 It's very quick Yes we got time Okay we have time Okay I read this last week People loved it Let's go People loved it Less emotional I will not cry
Starting point is 01:30:44 And I'm not gonna quote a movie We'll see if you don't cry Okay All right, so I wrote this on the plane on the way back from Texas. You wrote this? Sorry? You wrote this? I wrote this.
Starting point is 01:30:56 Let's go, man. After spending this past weekend in my hometown in Fort Worth, I realized there is something special about home and family that will never fade with age. Pulling up to my mom's house and seeing her car in the driveway, my dad in the living room window with his dog's sage. The Texas game is already on the screen. My parents ordered. takeout from one of our favorite family restaurants that they used to take us to as kids.
Starting point is 01:31:23 I'm safe and happy and instantly feel a nap coming on as I sit down on the living room sofa after catching up in the kitchen with mom and dad. Even driving through where I grew up in Alito and seeing the old places I know and love, I find so much comfort in the memories I've made with family and friends and how those places, things, and people shaped me into the person I am today. I cannot wait to pass along the same experience to Scarlett. Our little unit finding our favorite restaurants, her walking into her parents' home and instantly recognizing the smells. Her excited to bring friends over to share in our home experience. Her seeing me waving in the living room window looking like a goofball with our family dog. I am overwhelmed
Starting point is 01:32:09 with the excitement for the opportunity to build her nostalgia bank of memories. I can't wait to provide her the family slash home that my parents provided me. I didn't cry, bitch. That was so good. Why would you end it with that day, bro? That was really good, man. Thanks, dude. Thank you, Willie OneShelf.
Starting point is 01:32:37 Thank you, Willie One Shelf. And I did it really fast. That was good, bro. Thank you, dude. Should we wrap it up? Yes. Guys, thank you for tuning in. Make sure you take out the trash.
