Foster shares some stories of his time at LSU about different bars he used to go to and just the town itself. The boys then get into Foster’s crazy offseason. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in March while on a visit to the Saints. He shares the story of how he found out from his physical and the exact type of cancer he was diagnosed with. Foster gets into what it was like telling his family and friends and how difficult it was.  The boys then lighten the mood as they get into how he has officially been signed to the New Orleans Saints and is reunited with Derek Carr. But like, that in the entirety of the Creed series, when I heard that rocky theme playing for Apollo Creed's son, I was like, holy shit, this is unbelievable. This is great. So what's your take?

What's the bad take, though? You said this is a terrible take. That's my favorite moment from that line of movies. And I was... From Creed or all? It sounds like Creed bleeds into you. Definitely from Creed. But it's only from it being from Rocky.

Okay. If we're going to do unpopular takes as a start of this show, I am willing to stand 10 toes down on this. The Fast and the Furious series is fucking garbage. And I can't stand it. I think I vaguely now remember when we were on the car ride and we were, somebody made a comment on money with me, like there's nothing out here or somebody, and somebody brought that out. I was big in bogeys. And I remember the first time I blacked out. I was, I had three pictures of Vegas bombs. Yeah. And I was pouring for everyone. And it wasn't after like a huge game. We had just, like, beaten Syracuse. And we came home and it was still kind of early because it was like, it was fucking unbelievable.

We had a blast. But I blacked out on Vegas bombs and I wound up in like the pregame, a girl who hosted a pregame, I ended up in her apartment on her couch sleeping. And I woke up the next morning. And they didn't know I was there. I woke up to them screaming because I was on their couch and they had no idea how got there. I had no idea how I got there. I was shocked. Are you, uh, are you an aggressive drunk? Are you like, do you like look for fights? No, no. But if they show up, I mean, I, who am I to stop you?

I think there's a, uh, wasn't there a nice little story, your rookie year on the Raiders? Of me fighting? Yeah, I think like after you guys were having brunch. It was like a day after a game, you guys went out, I think the San Francisco area and had a brunch. You might have knocked the, a drink out of the gentleman's hand? Nope, that's not the story. Anyway, we go, uh, fuck it was we go after a Thursday night game we go across and Alex's going to do his is like rookie dinner but it's going to be a brunch with all the running backs so I get invited and I had I had a friend in town and he brought his girlfriend and we were all just hanging out long story short I'm rushing us back to the apartment after I mean an hour and a half two hours of mimosas with no breakfast so I'm drunk but I'm fine right I'm fine but um

Some of the people that we have with us aren't, you know, they're just not doing too well. And they wind up throwing up all over the backseat of the Uber. Oh, no. That's a $100 cleanup fee. $100 cleanup fee. But I was just so worried that this guy was going to like say some bad shit about me or do. So I paid him $500 to just kind of keep his mouth shut. Because we got in the car.

We got in the car. I shit you not. And he goes, oh my God. Alec Ingold with the Raiders. This is unbelievable. And typical Raiders fan. Yeah. Well, so I got in the car.

And this guy was just, he had Raiders like memorabilia. He had stuff and like it was so cool. And then like one of our friends threw up in his Uber. And it was like, oh shit. And it was on the weekend of like a big music fest. I don't know what music fest is out there around October, around November, October. Probably. Sounds right.

But yeah, he was probably going to make a lot more money than that. $100 cleanup fee. Yeah. And he wasn't going to be able to give Uber's because there was just projectile vomit down the passenger seat. You know he's fired up to tell that story. I hope so. I hope he doesn't hold any hard feeling.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. If he's watching, I'm sorry. So which story am I? I'm terribly sorry. Which story am I missing out with the knocking the drink out of the dude's hand? So there was a, there was a time we went out and we weren't, we weren't looking for trouble, but we were having fun. And, uh, eventually, we,

started at a bar, walked around to a couple of different bars, and we ended up in the same bar that we were in, and it was about 15 minutes to the last call. We go, there's probably like 10, 15 football guys in there, right? And I'm like, okay, you know, I'm bored. Not many, not many single women in the bar. I'm going to just go walk up and go grab us a drink. And I tell Al, like I say, watch this. I walk up, I'm pushing through, like, the most annoying frat bros you could even ever imagine. Like, I'm just, I'm just shoving guys out of the way,

just kind of making my way through, almost butterflying through these guys. And eventually I'm pushing my way past a guy. And he goes, hey, man, there's a fucking line. I'm like, no, brother, I'm buying. What you want? What kind of drink do you? He's like, oh man, I'll take a Red Bull vodka.

I'm like, all right, fucking freak. Anyway, I go to the front of the line. I order one Red Bull vodka, specifically for this guy. I go up, I hand him the Red Bull vodka. He goes, man, you're awesome, bro. Cheers. And then I fucking knock the drink out of his hand as hard as I could. My God.

And then I look dead in his eyes and I say, do something about it. And I walk straight over to my basically 2,100 pounds of like pure meat, like beef and muscle. Yeah. Like 3 O linemen, a D-Lineman, a D-end, two running backs, a couple of wideouts. And Alec Ingold, who accounts for three fucking people on his own. Yeah. He's got a fucking chin of steel. And so we just kind of sit there and the guy's like, he has no idea what he's doing.

He's like trying to muster the confidence to come over and say something. And his bro is like, go, you got to go. You got to defend yourself. And I was like, oh my God. It was so. And then he's like, man, you know what happened? And then the bouncer comes over and he's like, hey, man, we have a problem. I'm like, yeah, dude, this guy's saying something about me not going to, I'm not going to drink out of his hand.

And so the bouncer kicks them out. And he's like, and the dude's buddy, granted, he was the tallest guy. So I'm like, maybe this guy had some semblance of fighting in his background or he had, he had hopefully more cahoons than his buddy. But he said, we'll be waiting outside. I said, good. When I had, when we were the number two team in the country and we were like 8 and O about to go play Alabama in Tuscaloosa, I was like, oh, this is college. This is fun. This is easy. And our locker room was fucking crazy. Not like we were doing bouncing shit off the walls, but the guys in the locker room, like the talent that we had was unbelievable. And these guys at, like I didn't know what college was. So I probably couldn't go back to recant on like, how these guys were leaders and, like, actually set a fucking tone. I just thought, this is, oh, this is what college is. Like, so I could, I'm sure I could have learned a lot more from those guys if I had been fucking paying attention.

But, I mean, back to the- Yeah, it was. And back to the bars. I started in bogeys, blacked out in bogeys. That's a good way to get back. You did a good maneuvering game back to bogeys. Yeah, it's all full circle, man. That's what it's all about, right?

Yeah, yeah. But bogeys started in bogeys, went a couple other places. I was at the house for like probably some time in my sophomore year. And there was always those times that I'd see like Ben Simmons just walking in and just being like tall as fuck. And it was just being himself. It was so funny. We all lived in the same complex over at, it was right off of campus. So we got those off campus stipends.

It was barely off of campus. And the fifth floor of that little, new facility. It wasn't done. It was still being constructed. Oh my God. It was abysmal. It was unbelievable. And like we as students didn't do a great job of like upkeep and it was, oh God, it was bad. But it. Ratchez. Yeah, yeah. Ben Simmons was in there. A few other guys were in there. And I was just, I was right in the middle. I was just bad influence after bad influence. I was having a fucking ball. Uh, eventually I, I was. wound up making it to Fred's though who I'm sure you guys know what Fred's is I'd hope we did a live

show at a live show there was awesome unbelievable yes unbelievable um that right there interacting with everybody of Fred's you realize you're just in a different you realize you're in a different LSU or Louisiana in general is not the United States that's a third world country yeah I mean that as a compliment you've always yeah you know mixed I see what you're saying there for sure you know it's just different it's like Quebec of Canada what back you know what I'm saying of, I guess, Quebec of America. They're literally like, oh, you should have been here last week and we had a midget wrestling thing.

And you're like, you can say that? In the end, we're done here. Wow. Yeah, it's true. No, they do do that. A lot. It's true. They do that a lot.

You certainly can't say either. Yeah. But that's a, oh, fuck. What a fun time. Oh, fuck. What a fun time. And it is. It's a fucking blast.

Like, you'll have, like, the frat dude, the frat boy boxing in the, like, they had frat boy boxing in the spring on like a Thursday night, I mean, people would come by the thousands to watch these guys put on the box, put on the big mitts, right? You get to the, uh, there were a couple of times where they put on like, have you seen those, the big fucking boxing gloves? Mm-hmm.

Oh my God. You just, you just put them on and you'd let like two girls fight. Yeah. And it was unbelievable. It was just the most fun that anyone would have. And then you'd like, you'd, yeah, sure, you'd cater it by, from fucking canes or from, from whoever was across the street, right? And it was like, oh, they got the fucking macaroni logs in the back.

There's 500 macaroni logs with cups of ranch. And they're like, holy shit, this is going to be an unbelievable night. Everyone knows what's going on in the town. Just nothing happens. Yeah, Phi Zeta Mew fucking put on. What a great performance these guys put on for frat boxing. It was fucking unbelievable. It would be frats versus frats or internally the frats.

I think it was internally. Yeah. But holy shit, wouldn't have been fun if it was not. Yeah. And they have a crown champion at the end. You guys get your best guy. We'll get our best guy. Right.

Yeah. The one across the street saying they got the toughest one. Exactly. We've got to figure this out. Yeah. And like the, yeah, the winners reap benefits. You get rewards. And then you're actually looking for some like fucking thick dudes during rush.

Oh, man. What a fun time. Yeah. Definitely looking for thick dudes during rush. Yeah. Big fucking, I get you going. Damn hog blocks. See, we would, our Nebraska's never integrated with like the frat.

What is it called? called? Yeah, Greek life. Greek life. Yeah. Integrated with a Greek life like that. Which it does seem fun. Michigan, no, Michigan's got a strong Greek life, but Michigan, it was like they either loved the football team or they hated the football team.

Like, you hear about a party. You had the opportunity to get, like, in like the, the Illuminati of Michigan, yeah? Like the Secret Society. Yeah, but that wasn't really a fraternity, I guess it is, but it's not like... Secret Society? What is that? Yeah. Like, Michigan has three different secret societies. It's like Order of Angel, Phoenix, and then there's one more.

I forget what it is. Bag over the head. You don't know where you're going. Yeah. This sounds bad ass. I got tapped for it one day. And it was like an all like I got tapped at like 9 p.m. at night and I didn't get home until five in the morning.

And I had a bag over my head at one point. Like it was well calculated. They said, hey, you're getting tapped for this society. You either enter you're out. You have to say right now if you're in. I was like, all right, I'm in. And then I like, okay, walk outside. They leave me.

And then I'm waiting there for three, four minutes. And all of a sudden some guy with a cell phone walks by, never seen him in my life and goes, it's for you. and now I have a random cell phone and they're making me go different places in the university, doing specific things. And I end up at this one house

and they put a bag over my head and they put this metal music on. They drive me for 20, 30 minutes. I have no idea what the actual time was. No idea. But it was a long time and they're like forcing me to answer these questions

and not forcing me. They're asking these questions and I'd answer that like that wasn't good enough. Answer it better. And I'm like trying to figure out what the fuck these people want for me. And then like you go through like a hell week

and it's like right in the middle of spring ball. And so I would do spring ball and then like right at 7 p.m. I'd go to wherever I had to go. It was all like very secret. Like you couldn't tell people what you were doing. Like I couldn't tell my girlfriend. Like it was a wild, a wild time. Yeah. The whole idea was like taking like the 25 most influential people, influential students. Yeah. Yeah. At the university and putting them in one room for the betterment at the university. And there's a hundred percent turnover every single year. There's like calls and chance you have to do. There's like you have your name with a jingle behind it. And like, like, you have. how you present yourself. Like there was rules and a whole bunch of stuff you had to follow. And you meet secretly every Monday at 10 p.m. during the, like during the school year. Jesus Christ.

It was nuts. Do you do it? Yeah, I did the whole thing. Have you ever told anyone about that? Like I mean, I mentioned it on this spot before. I think I have.

You haven't went into it a whole lot. It was wild. And I could, it's that I would love to tell a story, but this is not, this podcast. Yeah. No, no, it's fine. It's great. It's,

it's, it's, uh, it was cool though. Yeah. Because you get to meet all these different people. People you never come across. you know, like presidents have been in it before and all that. Like there's a, there's a union building in the middle of campus. And there's a tower with like three floors and they're small. And they used to be for the secret societies.

And it became like a fire, fire issue. So they're like, now they have the secret room around. There's tunnels at the University of Michigan during the Cold War. And like no one knows about. Was there ever any friction between you and the secret society to where you're like, I'm going to take this society down? No, no, no. There was a, you know what I mean?

Like, when I got in, I don't know. When you find out who's getting tapped, like people had an issue with me being in it. Because of the whole thing from my freshman year that, the allegations. Yeah, we're not to get into it.

No, I mean, I've talked about it before. Yeah. Allegations part one. Yeah. There's been a lot of allegations. Yeah. But then they didn't want me in. And then I had to, like, talk to them,

but hey, this, I tell I to explain them the whole situation how it wasn't true. And they're like, all right. Get the gab. Yeah. But it was cool, man. That was a cool situation. Like, the whole tapping thing was wild.

It was like out of a movie. Yeah. It was nuts. They don't have anything like that at LSU, huh? Not that I know of. I don't know if I was that influential. They just do like fighting and wrestling. They just put on events with racing chaos as a sponsor.

It's fucking cool time. Yeah, LSU was one of those schools to me. I was like, man, I would love to fucking go there. And it seems like they just live their sports. Like they're all about their sports, whether it's football, basketball, whatever. Yeah, no, it'll fucking, it'll ruin your day. Having a bad, having a bad, it'll just ruin your day. Rune your week.

It's all. like generally predicated on, all right, what are we doing for our tailgate on Sunday? Right. Like, that's, you think about it, that's all you think about all fucking week.

It's, yeah, it's, it's sick. It seems close up. Is it like a difficult school to get through? No. Love that. Love your honesty. I knew the answer, and I just wanted to hear you say it.

You could make it, you can make, I mean, just like a fucking, have you guys done an F-45 workout, not to give no free shout-outs, but if you guys- out Mark Wahlberg. Shout of Mark Wahlberg.

F-45? I thought it was an airplane. No, you're talking about that was the right thing, right? The workout? Yeah, yeah. Mark Wahlberg? Okay. Yeah, yeah.

So these workouts, anyway, we don't even need to be this deep. But you get in what you put in. Like, if you want it to be hard, I'm sure it could be hard. But I just went to a wedding just this past weekend where the bride made us all do an F-45 workout the day before after we flew in. And I told her I would never forgive her. It was. Oh, wow. It was unbelievable.

obviously I was joking and I got a lot out of it but when the warm up was like a few minutes of like high knees and burpees and I said this is like people like people enjoy this people like they actively sign up for this they want to do they like doing this

I don't know it was weird it was different some cross fit type stuff it sounds crossfitting with the burpees a little bit light warm up and just fucking abuse yourself yeah it was just a light warm up of like okay hey we're gonna do 10 high knee and you have someone like that probably shouldn't. Yeah, be showing you the ropes.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. But that's just how it is. Your brain just reactivates to that like, you're a coach, you know more than me. Yeah, I think. Yeah, and it's like. Total football move.

And so I'm just, I'm sitting there and they're like, oh, no, it's not bicycle. It's not bicycle abs. You want those to be, and then you want to cross over. Just keep your knees at 90. And I'm like, yes, coach, yes. Yeah. Yeah.

100%. Yeah. That's fucking... Should we dive in? Yeah. You've had quite the off season. I sure have. Can you walk us through the first moment you found out that you had cancer?

Boy. It happened for me. Obviously in a crazy way that I've shared with you. But I was just doing a routine physical. New Orleans Saints. It's early in the morning. I'm just trying to get all the shit out of the way just so I can go out of breakfast. Right?

I just flown back in from Cincinnati. I did a physical with them. I did some meetings, some interviews. Just trying to gauge what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go. And a big thing for me was I wanted to see the facility before I made a decision just because I spent a lot of time there. So I'm going in the morning and I'm going to do my physical. I got the needle in my arm. I'd just given blood.

I'd peed in the cup. All I have to do is like just get touched on a little. bit. I shouldn't have to do any scans and I'll be good to go. And all of a sudden, this guide, his name's Dr. John Amos puts his hand on me, feels something weird right up here in my left clavicle. And going through it, I had felt something up here before, and I'd known it was a lymph node. They've gotten bigger and they've gotten smaller from when I've gotten sick. So normally when I'd feel it or I'd notice it, I'd be like, oh, I must be getting sick. And going back and thinking through the times that I had felt it,

it should have been more obvious to me that something was wrong. So when he felt it, he knew something was wrong, triggering me to go do a couple of scans, sit there, just kind of wait. I'm talking with the driver. It's a guy who works with the Saints. His name's Harry. He's in their scouting department.

And he's, we're just talking. about our March Madness brackets, right? And so I'm like, all right, yeah, yeah, we got, we got this going on. He's like, oh, man, I really like so and so this year. I'm like, oh, yeah, it's cool. Basically, John Amos gets back from the radiologist that's upstairs and he says, hey, call Mickey Loomis, the GM. He says, call Mickey, tell him breakfast is off. Consider the physical canceled. Like, we have some stuff to do. And he comes in and sits me down and he's just kind of got that, like how am I going to deliver this? I have bad news. When he felt the lymph node, what was the doctor's reaction to send you into radiology?

He said, oh, that's interesting. Okay. That's. And so he felt that there. And then he felt underneath to try to feel the other lymph node to see if that was inflamed, kind of in my peck. But it was deeper in there. So he really couldn't feel it as well. And so he's kind of, he's walking with me and we're kind of, we're going to do the scans.

And he's like, he's walking me through symptoms, right? Because initially he feels that. And he's like, okay, that's an inflate. That's a highly inflamed, no, that should not be that big. No matter how sick you are. No, that's just what I'm imagining. He's thinking. He's not trying to trigger me to be nervous.

And so he's walking. Were you nervous? Were you starting to think like, uh, this, this happened several times in my, you know. Yeah, because the doctor, he seems like he's not trying to make it a big deal. He said, hey, we had to go to a couple scans. My first thought would be like, hey, what are the scans about? Like trying to figure out the answer to the question. Or answer the reason.

We were trying to figure it out as, as we were going. right because it's a routine physical he's not supposed to find anything right he's he's more looking and he's doing that for me he's not really doing that for the team yeah like he's supposed to check my joints my knees my elbows my wrists my neck he's supposed to make sure i'm healthy not in the form of real like physical health it's supposed to be athletics um but it was the first thing he touched and from there you could just kind of see he was a little more frantic um not really as patient and he really just started to like kind of get things into gear. From there I kind of felt like, yeah, there was, you know, there's probably something going on,

especially when we started doing tests and he was a little nervous about it. I'm like, okay. For me at that point, I'm like, okay, this could be really bad. Cancer, probably. This could be this. You thought to yourself. That was my initial thought. I'm like, you know, and two, probably two or three weeks before that, I had felt that.

and said, God, what if that's just like a tumor in my body? Like, what if that's not, that's not supposed to be or it doesn't feel like that over here. You know, what if it's, uh, what if it is cancer? You know, I'll probably find out on my, on my free agency visits. And then that comes up, free agency comes up. I'm stressed out. I'm not even, I'm not thinking about it, right? Um, and then I go through my first physical, nothing, he doesn't feel it.

Nothing happens. He doesn't check. Um, and then the second. guy comes and I'm like, oh yeah, I did have that. That is weird. Anyway, he comes and sits down with me and he says, okay. So let's talk about, you know, Hodgkin's lymphoma. I'm like, okay, that's, that's a big word, right? And I'm just kind of, just kind of going through it and trying to figure out, trying to figure out kind of what he's, what he's saying or how, you know, how sure he is, right? Because obviously, you wouldn't bring

it up to me if it wasn't a possibility. And so in a weird way, the kind of pieces start to fit to the puzzle and the dots start to connect a little bit. I'm like, okay, that's, that's different. That's interesting. It's like, let's go talk to the radiologist and he'll explain to you everything that's going on. After about five minutes of telling me about how curable and treatable Hodgkins is. I'm like, okay, that's different. So let's, let's go do. that. We talk to the radiologist. I'm still like, I'm at a coin flip. It could be like a benign cyst of something in my neck or it could be cancer. And so we start talking to the radiologist. And he's explaining to me how it's, you know, that's not what it's supposed to look like.

It's, uh, you got them here. You got a couple different spots throughout your body that are a little that kind of light up when we put this, we put this fluid into you and did this scan. I'm like, okay, where's the burden of proof? I remember asking him. He says, what do you mean? I'm like, well, do we have to prove that it is or that it isn't? And I said, okay. And he said, well, we got to prove right now to me looking and feeling, despite you not having any symptoms. We have to, we'd have to prove that it's not, certainly. I'm like, okay, to about what percent?

He goes, upper 90s, 97 percent, Hodgkin's lymphoma in my brain. And I said, 97. That's a lot. And so he said, we'd like to do it. a biopsy. We'd like to do it as fast as we can. If we let you leave this hospital right now without having anything, then like you're susceptible to not knowing anything and it's taking a lot longer for you to find out. I'm like, fuck, okay, sure, let's do it now. So they give me some light of cane, cut me open, I'm still awake, take some core samples out. And then the same guy I was talking about

with the March Madness Brackett, Harry, he drives me back. And, Funny enough, I'm in New Orleans. My mom is 10 minutes away from the hospital. And so I walk in after having called my mom and telling her all the information right before the biopsy, and I just break down. Obviously, it's, you know, it was nothing that was in my control, and it was really difficult. And I think a ton of the stress from the free agency really just kind of melted away. and I just stopped thinking about that all together and started thinking about life in a way.

And that was obviously extremely low point. And then I had to start, I had to try to tell the people that were important, but also not tell enough people to where all of a sudden now it's news that I haven't let out on my own, right? I called my agent. Well, I called my dad. I called my girl. I called my agent. I called my coaches.

I kind of told them what was going on. The people that were important to me, I made a courtesy call to Zach Taylor with Cincinnati because I'd seen him the day before. And I said, hey, thank you for your consideration. I just, I got medical issues going on right now. And I don't want to hold you guys up from being the team that you want to be. I know you guys knew that I was considering going with you.

So right now I'm probably, I'd have no opportunity to come there and help you. To which he was very gracious and said he would be praying for me, which I meant a lot to me. From there, it was actually all uphill and it was all pretty good. Sent to tweet out, got a lot of positive feedback, a lot of responses. There was obviously a lot of crying done and a lot to be done. but right as I felt, it was all positive. It was all super positive and like, that's how I got to be. That's what I'm going to do.

I'm going to beat this. It's going to be great. You know, football's on the back burner. We're just going to beat cancer. That's what we're going to do. I got a call from the doctor that was recommended me by Dr. John Amos. His name is Dr. Carter Davis. He is a, he's the, what is it called?

oncologist for the he's one of the he's one of the lead oncologist down in new Orleans at the uh benson medical center the benson cancer center on the fifth floor great dude um and a yeah really and a really good doctor um he calls me as i as i feel the weight of the world bearing down on me from every which way um just talking to people and seeing their experiences um namely i remember one guy that i was talking to was like yeah you know, my relative of mine went through this. And I'm like, well, you know, is how bad's the chemo? How bad's the radiation?

You know, it's, it's bad. But you could push through it. He goes, no, man. It sucks. Brutal shit now. It's like, it's brutal. And I'm like, okay. So I'm, I fucking, I want to kill myself.

This is the most, this is gut wrenching. But right as I feel it all bearing down on me and I'm, I'm, I'm, as stress as that ever been in my life. Carter Davis gives me a call and says, hey, we just got your, we just got your cell type back from your initial biopsy of your cancer diagnosis. So this is something I learned that everyone's cancer is different because obviously there's a ton of different types, right? There's breast cancer, there's ovarian cancer, there's leukemia's. There's even Hodgkins has two. There's Hodgkins and there's non-Hodgkins, not-Hodgkins being in your bone marrow. there's just so much that I didn't know and that couldn't be learned.

And from there, there's different cell types. So I had, there's 95 to 97% of patients have lymphocyte predominant cell type, which means it's the most researched form of Hodgkin's lymphoma. What I wound up having was non-limfate, it was nodular lymphatic predominant Hodgkin's lymphoma. So it was less aggressive. It was slow moving. And it didn't require chemo, radiation,

or any of the other life-altering things that you'd have to go through. That's my journey. So my journey's different. And when he told me that that was possibly what I had, tears came to my eyes and I said, oh my God, like this is God's active hand waving over me. I was shocked. I was shook.

I'm still shook. about it. It gives me chills. And just it makes my heart race. But there was just such an outpouring of faith and belief and prayer that had been sent to me. I couldn't see it any other way. And I did a secondary biopsy that you could see right here where they put me under, took out a ton of that lymph node and ran a bunch of tests just to make sure it was, what we thought it was. You were, they were what we thought. Yeah, whatever, anyway.

But it was, it wound up being the, it wound up. You gotta love just humor in the middle of it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Gotta get that. They were who we thought they were. Yeah. But it was, it was NLPHL. And so from there, I, I remember I was,

I was watching my, my little cousin's tennis match. He's a tennis player down in Baton Rouge at LSU. And I got that call and it was the nurse. She's like, hey. Um, it's overwhelmingly positive news. It's NLPHL, no chemo, no radiation. Um, and you're going to be, you're going to be back to what you want to do in a month. We're going to schedule you a week from now. You'll be back a month after that. And I said, that's unbelievable. That's no way. That's honestly the, the greatest news I might, um, next to, uh, next to an I do from the person I

Mary and a it's a boy or it's a girl and it's a healthy baby. That'll probably be the best news I ever received in my life. Unbelievable. So I went and I did my one, my one transfusion with this drug called retuximab. And from there, I just got, I just, the following, the insinuing Tuesdays, I did shots in the stomach of the retuximab. And after that, I walked out of that hospital and the day after I signed with the Saints. Fuck.

That was a wild story. Yeah. How long was that when you received the news that you had that you had cancer and then you're telling your family, the waterworks is happening, how long is it as you're finding out like it's uphill from there? That was me. The day we found out that you and the whole crew was at Hit Factory, the mission was to get me to go to the gate, start freestyleing and see if I could get in the studio. I'm rapping, and then suddenly I hear a voice, hey, open the gate, let him in. The gate slowly went, come, come, come, come. They all, they're watching this,

your mind's going everywhere for a solid two weeks. Yeah, it was bad. I mean, there was a lot of support. It was, it was tough. And it's always going to be, something that I do, and I'm going to do it graciously and humbly. But my experience, I hope anyone diagnosed with cancer has my experience. It did not affect my body.

My quality of life was not changed. I was obviously, I was upset. I was stressed. It couldn't have happened at a worse time or it couldn't have happened at a better time. I mean, you never know, right? with just how the timing works, right? But I didn't have a team. I didn't have a home.

And all of a sudden, now I have cancer. So I got some rough shit that I was trying to deal with. And I'm like, this is terrible. And shout out to the saint. Shout out to Mickey Loomis. Shout out to the people that said from the day after that they had the information, they said, we're sticking by you. And you're a saint to us no matter what.

No matter if you could play tomorrow or if you'll never play again. you'll always be you'll always have always have a home here i said oh my god yeah is that the big reason why you decide to sign with them um that that amongst others i mean i didn't i didn't quite realize how important it was for me to be home um i mean just having to deal with everything and trying to find another hospital or just another place to do the blood work or another um another person i would trust as much as the people that were already taken care of me that have been that have been difficult. I'm sure there, I'm sure there are plenty of wonderful doctors at the other spots I was considering, but it really dawned upon me once I walked into the facility, which was 12 minutes away

from my mom's house. And I said, yeah, this is exactly where I needed to be right now in this very moment. It seems like you handled everything gracefully. One thing he said that you actually called Zach Taylor yourself, was that something you, like you were like, I want to make sure and call this coach? Because the next guy could easily just say, hey, do me a favor to your agent. all this guy and let him know that this is going on. It's no secret that, you know, they're having a lot of success up in Cincinnati. And it's, you could look at the stats and you could look at,

you could look at Joe, you could look at Jamar, you could look at T. Higgins, you could look at Joe Mix, and you could look at their line, their defense, their secondary, their franchise safeties, who they don't have anymore. But regardless, you could see on paper, and on the field, on the grass, why they're having so much success. Talking to Zach Taylor, you could tell that all that success is being managed in an extremely

positive way. He just, it seemed like he was doing things in a really positive light. It was something that I definitely was going to consider down the line. But it was just, it was a courtesy I know that he would have extended to me. And I, it's just, it wasn't in my place to just lead someone on or just kind of keep misinformation perpetuating. That wasn't, that just,

that's not my MO. Yeah. Yeah. But anybody who has, you know, tough information, they might want to just focus on themselves and just have,

just make their agent do it. Yeah. Can you reach out to Zach and say all that? That's why I asked that question is like, you know, very personable of you to go and call another head coach and say, I appreciate it,

but here's what's going on X, Y, and Z. Yeah. In the middle of dealing with an emotional battle that you're dealing with. Yeah. I'd talk to him the day before. Mm-hmm. Honestly.

Taylor, it just seemed like he was a guy that I wanted in my corner with a prayer. Yeah, I'd stand by that. Yeah. Yeah. When you look at everything now going through all that and being as minimal as it could have possibly been, like where, how has your outlook changed on life before all this or then after? Man, I'm gracious. I'm grateful. I'm thankful.

and there's been plenty of times where I thought, you know, like, and a lot of the times for me it's, it was the wrong way, it's the wrong way to do it. But like, we just did 10 OTAs, really, we did nine OTAs and then three mini camp practices. And I was like, there'd been something that I'd, there'd been a play that I went back. There's always a play you went back, right? It's like, fuck.

God, I mean, Cam Jordan gets off the ball and like, I'm behind the snap count. It's a quarterback that isn't Derek. which is crazy that we're back together, and we could talk about that. But, you know, it's the guys whose cadence I wasn't ready for. And now Cam Jordan's in the backfield, and I'm scrambling. I look like an idiot.

And I'm like, God, this fucking sucks. And then I'm kicking myself all day. I'm down. I'm like, God, I'm fucking pumping weight. I'm just, all I'm thinking about is just being laid off the ball. And I'm like, this fucking blows. And then I'm like, it could be a lot worse. It could be sitting by the river there

in the Benson cancer. center just with an IV in your arm for eight hours going through, going through reticumab, going through or something worse, going through chemo or radiation. Like, it's always, it's always worse. And everyone has their own set of problems. Anyone you walk past and anyone in this bus has their own battle that they're fighting right now. But it's just, it gave me a lot of perspective.

Yeah. Fuck, man, this is, I appreciate you sharing all this stuff too. I can only imagine how hard it was to tell your parents. Yeah, that was, that was difficult. I'm, I'm extremely close with both. I spent a lot of time with my mom. And naturally, she's a little, she's a little skeptical. She doesn't, she doesn't trust medicine all that much.

Hell yeah. Yeah. Yeah, a little bit, a little bit. Just down, Sally. A little bit. A little bit. So, you know, I just, I trust the experts and those guys seem to know what they're talking about. They weren't blown smoke out their ass.

So initially, she kind of, she called me on the phone call right after I got the news. And then I got home and I just, I just broke down, just hugged her and broke down. So they were kind of explaining to me that it could be this, it could be this, it could be anyone. of those things. And I'm like, yeah, like, it's just, it's not. I just, I know, I know this is what they say it is. It's, it's Hodgkins. And we just got to, there's a chance it couldn't be, you know, in my brain,

I'm like, we've beaten a lot of odds, right? You know, the three of us, certainly, we beat plenty of odds. We've gone from, you know, grammar school to high school to college to the pros. We've played, we've had long careers. and I'm just, I'm going to play as long as I can as long as they'll continue to have me. But in my brain, I'm like, you know, I've been a lot of odds. It'd be really hard to beat these.

I have no control over these. But I remember, and I remember telling fucking Schaefter, I'm like, we beat a lot of odds, but we kicked a lot of ass too. So whichever one we have to do this time, that's just what we're going to do. It's a great line. Yeah.

Phenomenal line. Yeah. Well, I mean, I can't imagine I have to tell your family that stuff. You had a similar situation happen with you. Yeah, I mean, but not that one. Yeah. But you were,

I was like, yeah, I mean, I was out in Buffalo and I was going out for a physical. And I had a scan. I was doing a C-spine scan just because of stingers, like a stinger history. And they're like, oh, let's just do a C-spine scan just yada, yada, yada, yada. Yeah.

And I remember watching Phil with the linebacker coach and they end up knocking on the door, the doctor, the team doc at the time. And he's like, hey, can we borrow a wheel for a minute? we got all of physical stuff back. He's like, when you get done with that, you know, we'll get back into this cover one, cover three. You're not quite much cover one.

Go ahead. Yeah. And I remember sitting in the office and they had the scan up. He said, you see what this is? And there's like this white mask like in my neck at the bottom of my brain. And he was like, it's like, you know, I don't want to speculate. He's like, but I don't know what this is.

I know it's a cost for concern. and, you know, we can't clear you right now. And here's what your options are. And then he started talking about like, what do you talk about? Like going to their radiology, getting the scan, getting the ink, ink, getting the IV or a CT scan. Right, do it put in the color, the dye in your brain. So that way they could see the coloring and all this stuff.

He's like, but I would, you know, you probably don't want to be in Buffalo. You probably want to be. And then that's when it kind of started hitting me. I was like, do I have like a tumor or something? And he's like, honestly, I don't know. I'm not an expert and I don't want to speculate or put anything in your head. But I would advise you. You probably want to be around your family.

So I'm like flying back. And Washington was taking good care of me at the time. Dr. West, she's like, hey, we'll get you right when you land, take an Uber over to the radiology department. We'll get you an MRI. And as I'm walking up, you can hear them say like, you know, this, we could be looking at a tumor. I think we're going to have to get this removed and sending it into the lab. as you know, they're trying to get it out so that way they can see or not

if it's benign or something that's aggressive. Of course. He's always here, he's here. They get off the phone and he's like, I'll come in here and tell me. And I was like, you know, just tell me what. Right. Yeah, I feel like I'm emotional

fucking his story first. And he's like, I was like, yo, just tell me what, you know, I'm looking at it. If I can't play football anymore, I don't care about that because he's like, hey, if we get this removed, we could just put a,

like, you know, titanium basically on your fucking brain, on your school, you'll be good. You'd be good for training camp. I was like, listen, man, if I got something, if I got a tumor in my brain, I don't give a fuck about that. I don't give a shit if I'm to play Oklahoma drill again anymore in training camp. And he's like, we're going to send this off to,

he's like, because again, he's just a radiologist. And they're like, the neurosurgeoners are going to see it tomorrow. And so everybody, you know, everybody, all the team docs in Washington, we're sending it off to, you know, anybody like fucking internationally, everybody's to get their eyes on the scan. I'm up all night talking with my boy, Trent Murphy, about, you know, what it could be. He's researching his own thing.

He's fucking, you know, one of them wormhole cats. Like, you want to be in the foxhole with it. Of course, yeah. And, you know, I basically get zero sleep that night. And then I wake up, the neurosurgeon calls the next day, say, hey, man, I know you've been stressing all night. You do not have a tumor. This is, in my opinion, benign. And you've had this in your brain since you were, you know, since you were a kid.

Because I look back at your old MRI and this is something that the redskins missed. It's like it is a hard thing to miss, but it is on some of your old C spines. So I'm under the impression that it's been in there since as early as whenever I had my first like either Stinger or whatever in 2014. Yeah. So yeah, that was my, that was my story with that, which I've told a couple times on here. But I remember the hardest call being to my dad about it. I don't know why I'm crying. So stupid.

Brother, it's all good. It's just the emotional shit, man. You get the parents stuff involved, and that always tickles something. But that was the hardest call. So that's why I asked that. Of course. That's my story of let's please. For the love of God, let's move on to something else.

So Denzel Washington, man. I guess no range. Yeah, no range. And that one. Flintlocked pistol. Yeah. No range. Straight ahead.

That's all he's got. It's a wild deal, man. It is. The entire time you're telling that story, I'm like, you know, when you talked about, I go home and then that's the moment I break down,

I just feel it rising up in me. I'm like, I'm thinking, thankful you're asking questions too because I'm like, fuck, man. Because you're obviously a friend too. And I can only imagine

how difficult that was just because you actually were receiving bad fucking news. And I can, you know, I just remember that moment for myself and you're just like, you almost don't know

how to wrap your brain around it at first. Not at all. Not at all. And then you're speculating until you get whatever the results are. And you kind of like, it didn't necessarily hit me until I was actually trying to get it on my mouth and tell my dad. Because I was like, yo, don't tell mom. Wasn't going to tell my wife now, but it wasn't going to tell Charo until I knew like what results actually were.

But that's when I realized how like, yo, this is, this could be something real that's going on. But, yeah, man, that's, that story is wild. Yeah. There's just so much information. I mean, when I initially got it, I just kind of went into that, just take information for what it is and try not to be emotional right now. Like, just really just perked up, wide-eyed, and just kind of like just tried to pierce this guy's eyes with mine and just understand what he's saying, gather as much information and facts as I could, just so that I could relay the information as clearly and accurately as possible. Yeah. Yeah, that's kind of the.

mode that I went into. But as soon as all that melts away and you have given all that information, then you become a human being again. Yeah. And it's- Especially when you see the reactions of others too and just of, of course. Of course. There's parts of like, you know, in like our line of work and everything else, you try to quickly wrap your arms around it to see it as like, of course, am I going to beat this motherfucker? And you see it kind of as like a challenge type of thing or like, you know, we're going to, then you almost, I would assume if it continued down that, that, that road of it being something like a tumor, it's almost, it would almost be harder to see anybody else around me reacting versus my own self. Because you're trying to explain it. You know everybody's trying to be there for you.

You don't know if you're probably in the mood to talk at times about it. You know, you know it's on everybody's mind. Let me just fucking address this elephant. No, that's exactly right. So it's like, it's one thing, one thing that I didn't want to do. is go on like a media circus. But there could have been some like, it's just the thing is I didn't want to like popularize going on like and just doing a bunch of different interviews for a bunch of different people and just trying to like,

I didn't want it to make it seem like I was trying to build my brand through my diagnosis. And I know that's like a crazy thing for me to say because obviously that's not happening. It's just I already have a bit of. of a brand and then all of a sudden this crazy news jumps and I'm a free agent, okay, I get this information out. That was just, that was a fear that I had had initially going in, but talking to people, they've been just so supportive of it. Obviously, I talk about it a lot,

just because it is so well known that I have now gone through this, even though I don't look or feel any different. Yeah. That was a thing too. When that news came out, obviously everyone, that's a viral thing. Like it was fucking spreading like wildfire. And having you on the bus now, it's almost like a part of me. It's like, you know, I see you sign with the Saints. And I'm like, man, this is fucking awesome that he's, you know, whatever's going on with the story and everything else. But I'm almost like, you know, like, so is he like cancer free?

Because you haven't done a whole lot of talking about, not that you should be doing it. But yeah, exactly. You do have that up in the air. It's like, man, he's fucking out there playing right now. Like, should he be out there in the, are they taking care of my guy out there? Is he hot. Fuck. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, holy shit. I have one last scan. I think nine days or eight days from now, June 29th. And that will be another, I think that'll be another pet scan where they're going to, they shoot you with radioactive sugar, basically. And you go in and you do it. The sugar basically targets, and I could pull up a picture for you. But the sugar targets the parts of your body that are. are consuming it. Right? So like it'll go to your brain, your heart. You'll see sugar in your bladder. But then the other parts that pop up on the scan, those are the parts that are eating up

the sugar and those are considered to be cancerous. So for me, I had them here and I had some, I had some here. I'll have that, I'll have one last scan to see how much those have gone down due to the retuximab. And after that, if I go on there and see like a limited amount of, of black spots, I will, in my own head, have rung the bell and I would have been done in remission at that point.

Yeah. That's in nine days. That'll be in nine days. Is there any anticipation for that? You feel pretty confident right now. I feel good about it. Everyone takes to the medicine. Everyone takes to the ritechomabin a different way.

And I've been quoted as calling this a life sentence for myself. I might never have to do it again. But the studies and statistics show that I might have to go do more of this stuff. But at that point, it's, again, it's still not chemo. It's a drug that I'm now familiar with and my body's familiar with. So it'd be, hopefully, in my brain, this is just the way that I see it. It'd be like maybe four more treatments a month long 10 or 12 or 15 years from now. right? And then maybe do it more after that and more after that and just once every, once every year or two years, going in and doing a scan and making sure it's not growing. But for me, it seems like the NLPHL, that diagnosis of it not being aggressive or growing or really spreading off all that fast. That'll always kind of be the thing that I lean back on and say, okay, like, regardless of what it is, I'll be okay. That's my thought.

When you take that medicine, is there a reaction to your body? Like, do you feel a certain way? They have to, so they do the infusion, they do the infusion or the transfusion, whatever it is. They do that because anything you put in your body, especially something you're not familiar with, you could be allergic to it, right? You could have a reaction. And there are people, there's like, it was basically a coin flip about 50, 50 of people who have a reaction and some people who don't have a reaction.

Now, the reaction doesn't mean it's not working or that you can't have it. It just means that you're introducing it to your body. too fast. For me, I did not have that reaction. So it went, we did 30 minutes at 50 ccs per hour. We did 30 minutes at 100 ccs per hour. And we just drifted it in until the 900 Cc bag had dripped all the way out. And I just, I mean, you're just sitting there. You're reading a, you're reading a book and or you're looking at your phone or you're watching a video. And then all of a sudden the Benadryl. starts, I mean, those words are swimming on the page. And you're like, holy fuck, this can't be Benadryl, right?

Yeah. And all of a sudden, I'm... Kind of a fun deal. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Kind of, yeah. I mean, you don't want to say it too loud. No, no, no, no, I'm just, I'm looking. I'm just like, oh, my God, this is a blah.

Well, I mean, I had gone and I had done surgeries before, but like, they'll go in and they'll bring the vials in. I remember I did my ACL and I did my ACL in Baton Rouge. Again, fucking great town. And the guy comes in and he's explaining what he's about to put into my arm. He's like, hey, this is going to loosen you up. It's going to relax you. It's basically like a margarita.

I'm like, oh, fuck yeah. It's like 5.30 in the morning. I'm like, oh, fuck yeah. He goes, I was hoping you said that. And so I'm not kidding you like a fucking magician. He had one violin in this hand. He flipped his hand. And he had a second fucking violinist thing.

And he goes, I was hoping you said that. So I brought two of them. I said, oh my Light me up, brother. Yes. And so he did. I remember the doctor as he's putting the, what, anesthesia, right? Yeah.

As he's given me the, as he's giving me the anesthesia. He goes, all right, just count backwards from 100. He goes, I know what this is. I'm basically drunk. I go, I know what this is. Yeah. And I'm fucking out like a light. The doctor woke, when he woke me up and he came and just gave me a recap of it,

He's like, God, you're a fucking hilarious. If you ever want to grab a drink sometime, here's my car. Let me know. Oh, you're hit him by the doctor. Nice. Fucking hilarious. So funny. Just, yeah, it was an interesting time, certainly.

Man, it is a weird fight when you're going against anesthesia. Oh, yeah. Weird deal. Yeah, some people try to fight it. They're like, all right, countdown from 10, you're probably not going to hit five. Yeah. Oh, I hit five. And then you just kind of just like, you droop out.

And you're just like, oh, fuck. I had the skin, like I've only had surgery like two, three times. And every time, like the fear is like, you know, I'm just a corpse to these people. What if they do something to me? Right, right. And I literally, I remember I got my tonsils out. I got my tonsils out when I was 21. And I literally asked the doctor, I was like, hey, can you get like hard when you're on an anesthesia?

They're like, no. I'm like worried about getting like wood. Why'd you ask that so aggressively? And you get, are you sure? During this? Like, what's the deal? Like a dream. You know you wake up in the morning and that shit's like.

you know, it's fucking up there. Yeah, it's poking. Yeah, absolutely. And it's not much, but it's mine, but also a lot of doctors rolling around. That's the only way. That's the low. That's the low. Yeah.

Anytime a doctor's a little more, hey, here you go, buddy. Yeah, yeah. In the appropriate situation, I had a, I had a GI bug like in 2016. I was like over the toilet for like three days straight, like full body cramps. And I went into the hospital eventually. I was like, I got to get an IV. So I, like, go to the hospital. And they were so full.

It's put me in, like, the pediatrics area. So I was like, there's like, toy cars and shit all around. Surrounded by kids and Legos and blocks. The doctor walks in and says, hey, what's the deal? I've been sick. I've been throwing up. I've seen an IV, maybe some like Zophran or something like that. Whatever like helps. Is it Zofran?

What helps with like, upset stomach, nausea? Ivermectin? Maybe. I don't know. What's evermectin? Yeah. Yeah. I was, I seen something.

And then he's like, yeah, dude, we'll get you no problem. We'll get you in and out of here. We'll get the IV. And I was like, hey, if you have some of that. stuff that gets you fucked up too I mean I'm not doing anything today so he's like you're are you hurt I was like I can be I died

and the doctor the doctor hits me he's like brother I got you leaves comes back hits me with it and I'm like he leaves like 10 minutes it comes back and I'm like hey dude I don't really feel it he give me another one he's like you're a big guy we'll get you another one so he fucking fuck he fucking talks me so you're in someone's living room

no no okay yeah he hooks me up with it with another one I can't remember what the medicine was It's like the main thing they give you when you break a bone or something like that. But I forget what it is. Anyway, he puts it in the IV. I'm starting to feel it a little bit.

I'm feeling pretty good. And now it's like the IV's done. It's time for me to leave. Dude, no joke. I went to stand up. My legs did not fucking work. Bro. I stood up and it was like immediately so fucking high.

I'm laughing. Like my, my wife had like those little peach rings, little candies. Yes, yes, yes. Let me get a couple of those. Yes, yes. I get them.

I couldn't chew. I started to choke a little bit. They had to pull them out of my mouth. No joke. They fucking, I'm like, Stephen Hawking's going out of this hospital, dude, as they're rolling me out of this wheelchair. And it was like the best five hours. I went from hell to live in the dream.

Oh, my God. That's unbelievable. I had a... It's my story of being in the hospital. You guys have some cool ones. I have shit ripped. I have one about that. They put a nerve block.

I had a basically like near a sports hernia, but it was a weird little injury that I had back in 2021. I had to go get my, um, I had to go get some shit cleared out like on my pelvic area and they put a nerve block in me. Yeah, right? They put a nerve block in me and so I'm still like I wake up from the surgery.

I'm still feeling good. They're like this guy. Oh my God, God bless him. He's a 19 year old like just just helping out at the hospital. I don't know what is fucking official. He couldn't have been more than 19 years old. He's wheeling me out, right?

He's like, my mom pulls the car around. She's about to drive me back to Vegas from L.A. And I go to stand up and like, I'm okay. I'm good. I'm all right. I'm fine. I'm, yeah, this is great. This is fine.

And so I go to get into the car, I go lift my leg up, right? And the nerve block had shut down my right leg. Right? So I go and I lift my left leg up to get into the car. I fucking collapse on the pavement like over my, like over my body, fresh out of surgery, probably 90 minutes ago. I, like, collapse over my body, and I'm like, oh my God, I just blew my fucking knee out.

I had, there's no way the angle my knee was at just now. There's no way, like, I mean, fully bent all my weight. I'm like, there's no way out and just blow my everything, every capsule in my right knee. Trying to tap in. Yeah. As much pretend you're like, fuck, now I got a, what can I do next? In the training meetings, you're checking real quick. stuff done. But yeah, you're at the bar. It's 3 a.m. You're like, holy fuck.

My cantaloupes. Yeah. Like, yeah, I forgot to check on my cantaloupes. Oh, shit. I'd be on the bar doing that. I'm making sure. Yeah, yeah. My favorite, like, time invested game like that was when they came out with, like,

Jurassic Park, like, building the little world. Well, you can, I didn't even know that existed. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But so it's hard because you just get so impatient. Mm-hmm. But anyways, my honorable mention is going to go to your one, Angry Birds. I feel like that's not necessarily my generation.

You know what I mean? I feel like that was kind of a later developed. I wanted to pick a few games at like, you know, some OG games. Sure, you're different. Yeah, my tier three is going to be an interesting one. And I would be fascinated. I would be surprised if anybody has heard of this game because it's only, it was only on the iPhone one

and you could only jail. You had the back when you could jail break your phone, you could get this game and get more levels by jailbreaking even farther when you got on the, you know, the websites and shit like that. Shout out to Nick Hallett, who always got us the newest levels. But it goes to IDigger. You got to go through all these levels and you're racing against creatures underground. You're trying to build stuff out.

You're trying to move objects. I Digger was the first iPhone game. We all fell in love with. Shout out North County High School back at North County when we were. I don't know what if you were with me. Yes, sir. He'll be back one day. Tier two is going to go to Kingdom Rush.

Kingdom Rush, any type of tower defense game. Like when being in the train room and everything else, I loved all the tower defense games. But Kingdom Rush was the first one I fell in love with, like building up all of your armory, your defense, your fucking, you know, your attackers, like getting leveling up to three levels, all that stuff. All the tower defense game.

I was obsessed with those. And my tier one, my tier one, Fun Run. Fun Run back in like 2012, 11, 13 era. Fun Run decided lineups in one of my boys' weddings because he couldn't decide how he wanted to label us. John Wigger, shout at the boy John Wigger. He didn't want to choose out of the four.

of us how he's going to put us in line so we all had to play Fun Run. Another one, the boys wanted a Nebraska game jersey. So I made him play Fun Run to see who he would get the Nebraska game jersey. But Fun Run in the Lock Room with Friends, because that was multiplayer where you had these four fucking little, what are they even called? Like these little critters, bro. What? Yeah. Little animals, different colored. And you're just, you know. Grusome, though. Yeah. A little South Park Critters. Like for the Christmas special. Yeah. And that one, like. And that one, like. Like, you know, you always wanted the boys to tap in into the lobby and like, yo, hey, we're all in.

All right. Let's start this thing up. And it would be fun runs my number one, man. That was a, that was a blast back when that was out. It was only like connectivity problems were the only thing that really held that game back for me. Yeah. I loved it. I thought it was a fucking blast.

Yeah. Yeah. We'd play for hours. There was another game, too, like in training camp, when I would try and kill time between meetings and everything else. You know, one of my boys, Matt May, we'd sit and like this. and one of like the study hall rooms where nobody could nobody could find us

and there's like this there's this shark game where you get bigger as you eat I play water I played that yeah yeah yeah and we were fucking into that game

I remember playing that too because you started as a small shark a little maco yeah and a lot of hazards out of there. A lot of hazards. A lot of hazards. When you become like a megaladone, yeah, which I think is like the last one, right? When you figure out how to like swim in some of the narrow lanes and your boys like, yo, how are you figuring that out? You know, yeah, just a little

Really? He was unconscious. What do you play with? I think he, I, he might have played with A&M, but he had like a custom playbook, like, OU's playbook or something. I'm not sure. He was, he was unconscious. And like, we all bought, like, Xbox 360s and we all bought NCAA 14.

And we had like, we had 12 guys playing a connected dynasty mode. And I'm not shitting you. Some of my funnest times, like playing video games was with us. those guys. Dude, 1,000% when my earlier years of Washington, we had a Madden League. But Madden 15 was my, was the, when I was, that was my best year of Madden because I'd stop playing, I think, after 16. But I got as high as 2.3% in the ranking. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yes, bro. Online, but we had a league with a lot of us. And those were, those are some of the best times. Probably the longest tenured game I played with a squad was also Rainbow Six.

Rainbow, yeah, yeah. Rainbow six was the good old days. I tried getting the boys on Rainbow Six. Yeah, you did. I think, I mean, you can't be risk. I think that's the most... Yeah, I mean, risk is awesome, but there's something about, like,

PubG, were you big on PubG, or were you more Fortnite? I feel like you were probably a Fortnite guy. I came out, I got Fortnite, and this is going to sound, what a fucking weird flex for me. I got Fortnite initially, before the Battle Royale even was like a big thing,

and it was just like the campaign mode. Did you know that fucking Fortnite had a campaign mode before? No, man. Like, you could get on with three of your buddies, and you could, you literally built up your fort, and you defended it against zombies. It was basically like just a zombie horde defense, like basically a tower defense game. Yeah. Those are fun. Remember, uh, Call Duty, the first zombies that came out?

That's the only Call of Duty I played. Oh, bro. Crazy. Crazy. The zombies, right? Dude. That always comes out around holiday season two. So Thanksgiving Christmas, like, you're just, you're in a bunk around with the boys.

It was fucking good, dude. Tell the girls, you got stuff going on. I remember getting to, like, dude, you get to new levels. You'd be like, oh, I got the dogs. Yeah. There are dogs. Oh, my God. Yes.

You know, all of a sudden, you're getting, like, you're getting motherfucked. And you have no idea from what, like, you're looking for a zombie. But all of a sudden, there's a fucking demon dog. Yeah, it's so cool. And that's, too, like, you would try and search, like, message boards to figure out, like, what little. Oh, yeah, yeah. The little Easter lay eggs are on each level. Hunting down Reddit trying to figure out what the fuck is going on.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. done video games. I know we've already done that, but... Yeah, yeah. We could do video games again one day, but I think it's fun to take this trip

down memory lane right here. That's good. Those are some great, it's a great, it's a great topic. Yeah. Yeah, you saved it with Fun Run. But it's good though. It's like you don't... Saved it.
