Starting point is 00:02:43 Ladies gentlemen, welcome in to another episode of the Lockroom, College Football Edition. It is Week 7. As always, Fandle, Fandle, Fandle. Let me tell you something about Fandle a quick. In life, people give us, they make promises. They say they're going to do something for you, and then sometimes it's 50-50. Do they show it for you?
Starting point is 00:03:00 Do they not? Fandle has said in the beginning of the year that this is going to be your most rewarding season yet. And my God, have they done it? Because people who watch this YouTube channel and put their Twitter username in the comment section can be selected to win bonus bets.
Starting point is 00:03:15 We got winners this week. Let's take a little pinky boo at that right there. This week's winner, Arkano, RJ. Congratulations. We have an applause. We have Dover Lai on there as well. And Jake Sodorowski, these three individuals,
Starting point is 00:03:28 All I did was comment their X, Twitter, based on if you're a boomer or whatever, I don't know what the kids are saying nowadays. Put it below in the comment section. You do that. Fendell's gonna pick three of you guys to win bonus bets. So let's get right into it. Got my little tokens right here, my Plinkgo board.
Starting point is 00:03:41 I thought I was figuring out. I've slowed down. Last week I slowed down a little bit. Looking at a thousand, sorry, 100,000, 500,000, 250 in a re-roll. We're gonna start with Gomer Lyle right here. Come on, go. The $100, 100 dollars for Gomer Lyle.
Starting point is 00:03:59 That's free money. That's free money. I gotta do better by you Goma. That's not Fainville. That's me. That's my fault. I'll do better on this one right here. Jake Siddorski. Moving that thing over just a smit. Do you see that right there? Here we go. That's how you figure out the board. That's how you figure out the board. And last but not least, Arkinow RJ. Come on. A little bit of the left. Five dollars. $1,600 in bonus plates just given out because Fandle is saying this is your most reward in season. Ever got a great show. Some people up, some people, commissioners are up. Massive units right now. Let's have a hell of a show, boys. I can't wait. Touchdown! Welcome to another episode of Lockroom. We are your host. Welcome to the show. Alert. The Fandlery changed. I know I've been dominating it. Week in and week out.
Starting point is 00:05:08 I've got to grab the card for this one because we have a powerhouse. Saturday upon us. The number one sportsbook in America before we start making our picks, before you start getting on the app and having some fun, just know, responsible gaming. There's a responsible gaming tab in the app. There's also fendool.com slash play with the plan. This Saturday, college football is bringing the big matchups. You got Indiana, Ohio State, you got Florida, you got Texas, Notre Dame, BYU. Some of the biggest names in college football are taking the field. And Fandul has a 50% profit boost for each. major game window.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Noon, afternoon, nighttime, plus get a 30% profit boost you can use on any college football game in any bet type. So however you're getting in on the action, there's a boost waiting for you, big matchups, profit boosts all day long, power up your bets
Starting point is 00:05:57 with Powerhouse Saturday on Fandul. Download the app or visit fendul.com slash bussen. Yeah, he read the ad read off. Oh, you told them already? Yeah, all right. I'll talk. Dad says hey. That's his hair. No, not that's the first thing he said, well, really just to me, I don't know if he even said to you.
Starting point is 00:06:16 He said, I need a little enthusiasm. Yeah, he said you got to feel it. Dude, I feel it. You got to feel my eyes doing this the entire time and the whole reading debacle. We talked about that. Yeah, I don't think he knows about your condition. Yeah, he doesn't. Self-diagnosed, this last week.
Starting point is 00:06:31 So. But you're you walking down the road a little ways. Yeah, yeah, we're moving. You're getting there. If you just give me the opt to read it a couple of times, I can get you through it. Yep. I can get you through it and roll it. I did mention.
Starting point is 00:06:41 this LSU Clemson first week of Bustin and Paid on campus. They're like, Taylor, we need you to read these two things. My brain, the stadium pulse was through. It was at a 10. I'm like, cool, can I get those before? And they're like, oh, we'll just read. I was like, get me. Get them before, please.
Starting point is 00:06:58 I was trying to be very respectful. Did you see their face? Because they said, we'll just read it live. And you said, no, we won't. Yeah. And I'm thinking to myself, hey, these guys don't know, I'll ruin the show. I will ruin the show.
Starting point is 00:07:11 So I read a couple of times and I end up reading it and my brain I'm like, hey, you kind of killed that for your first time. First show, nerves are high for all of us. I have not read one of those since. Yeah, they've passed those. They passed. So I, in my mind, I hit my mark. Clearly there's a different mark that I don't know about in the reading world. So anyway. I haven't even thought about that. Yeah, trust me. They've been in pay tans every time. Oh, and this Friday, you'll tap me in the jewelry blade as he's reading, sorry for the interruptions. We just want to want you to know and he's reading it by some technical difficulties. It's a thing that 99 times out of 100 they'll never have to use because the whole point of it is we're reading an emergency to break in case of technical difficulties.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Yeah. And we've been in sunny conditions. By the way, until this week, we got it, we got an issue. I just realized this this morning. We've just gone regular white or black t-shirt at every show. Yeah. Thinking that it would always be 75 degrees for the rest of our lives, not this Friday and not this Saturday. What is it? It's like rainy, it's like raw. It's in the 50s. Spooky weather. Spooky weather because it's spooktober. Yeah. You see it said around you. It's going to be. It's going to be big tennis. It's going to be really big tennis. Temperatures. Question for you. Oh. Last week, I mean, you had a run on the weather channel. It seemed to have done what you said it wasn't going to do. Yeah. Wait, wait. Which is rain a lot of the majority of the game. So hold.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Hold on, real quick, let's just put a pin in that, because what you just did, Will, is you just look Josh paint in the eyes and said, basically, you were wrong. Now, we- Well, how he acts right now, how he acts right now. We gotta be very,
Starting point is 00:08:54 we gotta be controlled about how, because we had a massage him into this. He was wrong. The weather, weather was an effective game. Because he said it was gonna be dry. Yeah, he said it was gonna be dry. By that time, it would be north through the east. He talked about the thing that went over.
Starting point is 00:09:10 Yeah. But, sorry. I just wanted to make sure you knew what you were doing. And if you were to snap at you, it's not doing the finger thing too. He's doing the, because my old man used to do that before he'd start. His computer's got to quit coming at some point. My old man, you'd see his fingers start to quiver and you knew it was, you know.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Yeah, better. Yeah, you get that quick twitch and you're quick. Yeah, and you're closer. So that's not for this show, this is a family show. He's a family show, absolutely. But that's a trigger movement that you're doing right there. So, and he's all right to listen. Spooky.
Starting point is 00:09:40 Puckermy. something to you, Ginger Z didn't explain to you. C of P is classification of precipitation in meteorology. Rain and mist are two different classifications of precipitation. So the classification of precipitation that we were talking about, as you well know, was rain. Okay, the rain was gone. I've been saying this the whole time. The rain was out.
Starting point is 00:10:02 I landed in Tuscaloosa in the middle of the afternoon and the rain was already gone. There was some mist the rest of the night, but there was not a single class. rain drop that fell the entire evening. If you're if you're trying to say that Kirby Smart only won that game because it was raining then shame on you. No it's called night lay no no no no no redirection. Hey you didn't see that coming did you? No he's wrong for that I've had Georgia top of the game since week two. Yeah you I think two to the three people at this at this table right now picked Georgia to win the game. I understood that Georgia was going to win this game. Yeah yeah yeah now we're just talking about
Starting point is 00:10:36 Georgia Bama all I wanted to talk about was it seemed like there was some weather that I was taking plate. Yeah, you pop it on and you wash the game and it seemed like, oh, it seems like weather seemed it would be a bit of a factor. You know what else I did? A couple drops out there I saw too. A couple connotation of precipitation. And then I saw a mouth, hey, it's wet.
Starting point is 00:10:51 That's what I saw some players. But not raining. Just wet. Just wet. Big difference. Okay. You were talking to Brian Haynes, defensive coordinator of Indiana before the game in Lincoln. And I will say he did not seem very enthused to talk to me at all.
Starting point is 00:11:03 Similar to Kurtzignette, but continue. He looked pretty happy to me. It was. They were locked in. They were locked in. Well, that's the way they are. are. They're not human pregame. No, they're not. Yeah, no one at Indiana is human. Almost inhuman pregame. But you remember I walked up and he was, he was looking around because the field goal
Starting point is 00:11:18 kickers were warming up next to us. And those things were drawing like it was a pinball game. And I said, hey, low key, it's going to be more windy here than it is at the Alabama game, even though everyone's focused on a tropical storm down there in the south. And it was windy all day. It was windy all day in Nebraska. It was dry. It was upper 80s. It was nice, but it was windy. I don't know if that came through on TV It was windy You needed that field goal before halftime. You needed that field goal before half time.
Starting point is 00:11:43 We needed that field goal before half time. Yeah. God, I hate it for you so much. It's okay. Here's my problem. And I was talking to you right before the show about this. I got into a mode of, I'm going to spend 72 hours. I'm going to support my boy clearly,
Starting point is 00:11:57 but I'm just going to bleed. I'm going to GBR. Yep. Every 24 hours I got closer, I could feel the level of excitement with all the whole squad. The whole squad. So much so that I'm kind of looking at you
Starting point is 00:12:07 like, hey, you got, I want you to, come with us. But a man that's been forged in fire before has understood trials and tribulations that has been Nebraska for the past decade, you're looking at me like, just we can't say nothing,
Starting point is 00:12:17 we can't do nothing so much so that we're not doing rap poison on a YouTube show because you know Kurt Signetti's media team is going to see it. I'm out here flying with. Which, by the way, yes, go ahead. The media team came up and he was having a good laugh about it. He's like, I was watching your show.
Starting point is 00:12:32 You did a good job, not giving any rap poison. We were combing the show. Very aware. So we couldn't turn it around within 20, I've spent 72 hours diving in and being a part of the Nebraska culture. I get back out of it. I'm like, all right, that was fun. I had a good time.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Ain't no way. They're going to be in Oregon in Otson with in that, you know, 10 p.m. All this, day and landing. But I sit here on a Wednesday and it's not in our sheet. We're not going to talk about this game very much. Oh, it'll come up. But I sit here and I'm like, Nebraska probably going to win, right?
Starting point is 00:13:05 Like there's a, like that Nebraska. It's where you got to be careful. It's the Husker. What was the thing? The Rule Aid? The Rule Aid just being like zoned into the Husker, I guess I get the Husker lenses. And I see the environment, I see the people, I see Calangio with the point. I don't want to talk about the stats after the point, but still a point nonetheless. And I'm like, dude, they could beat Oregon at Oregon.
Starting point is 00:13:27 And I don't know if that's a derivative of being a Nebraska fan. I think you just saw a good football team play some good football for three and a half quarters. And a couple of plays, the four explosives. You saw the two and the fourth, the fourth and one, the big play to Marsh after the point. Like, you saw a good football team play some good football. Yeah. To where it's like you'll learn everything you need to know about,
Starting point is 00:13:49 you know, how this team responds going into Oregon this week. Because it's going to be a tough spot. Like that emotional dump after warning that game so badly. We were around some of the staff and players after the game, like walking through, walking down the tunnel and everything else. Like, you, I mean, it was, it was brutal. I heard a guy laying an F ball. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Seven times in a row. He wasn't talking to nobody. He was just yelling in the tone of the F word. Holgerson, the shoulders, just, they won, everybody, that was supposed to be it. And so you take that into account, now you gotta go out to Eugene. Eugene is in absolute, you have to win out
Starting point is 00:14:25 the rest of the season, the rest of the year. Wounded animal mode. Mooted duck mode. Wounded duck mode. And you're going out there at 10 p.m. What's going on? Maintain. Maintain.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Finish your sentence. Yes. You're going out there and having to play at 10 p.m. on Saturday night. Like the way, you know, their time clock, the time that they end this game is going to be one in the morning in Lincoln. Yeah. Who do you play after, Oregon? We have a bye week. That's good.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Okay, so don't worry about start time then. Right. You said this is going to be a tough spot. Like everyone agrees, oh, this is a tough spot for Nebraska. Is it not a really tough spot for Oregon? Oh, shit. Ah! Ah!
Starting point is 00:15:00 Ah! Are you kidding me? Oh, is it scared? Is it not a tough Spooky for Oregon? This is a spooky time right now. What is happening? You jumped a little bit, Josh. Well, that's mainly this.
Starting point is 00:15:25 That's mainly that. All right, guys, we appreciate you. You got a show to do. We'll see you next time. Thank you very much. Shout out Spooktober, huh? Yeah. Shout out Spook Toad.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Shout on Devil's Dungeon. for the ghouls, goblins, inspectors for coming through and giving a little bit of a spook for us on a beautiful day. All right, we'll see you guys. I wanted them to sign my pocket. We'll get there. Autographs and photos will be done later. Gotcha.
Starting point is 00:15:49 That's a good. You guys are so mad? What makes you so mad? Nothing more. I'm locked in. We're duck hunting this weekend. So we take a look at the four leaderboard. We obviously just do the whole intro on Nebraska. But wait.
Starting point is 00:16:05 Go ahead. Is it not a tough week for Oregon? Yeah. Everybody just keeps on saying, man, Nebraska's got to go to Oregon. Like, you were talking about this after the game. I had a Nebraska fan watch your Nebraska fan only press conference and then tell me what you said because I wasn't allowed to watch it. And you said it right. It's a big difference between, well, we kind of kept it close, but like we had to smoke and mirror our way to a near win versus, no, we had them beat and then we let them off the hook. That feels a lot different when you're coming out of that game. Even if you're not a player, just a fan, Everybody who watched Nebraska last week knows that's a little bit different feeling of loss. That's a loss. You're not encouraged because you lost. You're encouraged the style of game you played can be duplicated on the road. And then Oregon's got all kinds of issues.
Starting point is 00:16:53 You know what they'd love to have right now? Anthony Calandria. Oregon would love to have that right now. By the way, do we know who they're starting at quarterback this? We don't. I tried, you know, I tried hitting my source, the only source I know at Oregon. to say hey. It's a pretty good one though.
Starting point is 00:17:07 Yeah, yeah. It's the craziest source to reach out to you when you're a fan of the opposite team. Declaning last night, like, hey, who's starting to keep you this? You can tell me. Send him a Drewski meme with it where he's like, and, you know, he didn't give me anything. He just put LOL. Hey, you responded. He responded.
Starting point is 00:17:23 He knows what type of week it is. Yeah. He knows how he's laughing at me in the off season about this game. He ain't laughing any more. 21 and a half point favorite at that point. We're talking about a downfall. downfall. No, I'm just saying the, like, I'm saying more of the assumption of what Nebraska's, they, Oregon was 23 and a half point favorites before the year start. Yeah. People laugh at Nebraska. This is now, to your point, this is a fucking tough football team. The difference in this game and other games before is Nebraska was in the driver's seat, the entire game with Indiana. Yeah. From there in Indiana one, one for 10 on third downs. They had the ball, I think a third of the time that Nebraska had the ball. Like all the things, they're gone. Don't worry. Um, as because. Before, it's like, oh, they kept it close, but this team just kind of didn't play up to their standard.
Starting point is 00:18:08 In case something like Nebraska had just hung around. They played down to Nebraska as opposed to. Nebraska set the tone. And up until the very last minute, Indiana couldn't really keep up, which is you should be very excited for. Oh, yeah, I am. The battle for every yard. The chase for the end zone. The roar of Bill's Mafia.
Starting point is 00:18:27 Buffalo Bill's football has a new home on TSN radio. Every snap, every hit, every. Hear every game live on TSN Radio on IHeart Radio. From kick-up to the final whistle. James Cook is in the kitchen. Buffalo Bills football on TSN Radio. Oh, that changed quickly. The Bills live here.
Starting point is 00:18:49 Now available on IHeart Radio. Lisa, we should tell them about our new show. Oh my God, Lexi. We have a new podcast. It's called Don't Lie to Me. I'm Lexi You Want You. We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart.
Starting point is 00:19:05 And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions, and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all. I'm not going to get anyone fighting. That is wild. I learned that about you today. Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes,
Starting point is 00:19:24 good taste is my business, and I've always got something to say. If men were just honest about this, there would be so much more peace in the world. We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older, and a little wiser. We're best friends, but we don't always agree. Because you told us how accommodating you are. Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Liar. They'll share their stories including not just the winds that we all see, but the moments they had to persevere through when everyone counted them out. People like the co-founder of Buddy's Coffee, Rachel,
Starting point is 00:21:36 who quickly went from being a New York Times success story to facing eviction. Being, you know, deemed a successful business by, like, you know, I mean, so New York, like, as, like, a Puerto Rican girl from New York who didn't finish college, who was like, I was like, holy crap, like, I'm finally doing something. Like, maybe this is all working out. And then that day when the landlord comes in, it's like, You're like, I f***ed all over that idea and he stepped on me.
Starting point is 00:22:02 Listen to Global Flow as a part of the Michael Tura podcast network, available on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Starting point is 00:23:02 join me on Front Page. Listen to Front Page from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. All right, this Ford leaderboard segment is presented by, you guessed it. Ford. A hard day's work starts with one thing. Someone willing to do it.
Starting point is 00:23:20 And where there's a will, there's a Ford F-series truck. This is the Ford Leaderboard. Say a look at the Ford Leaderboard. Things that are extremely impressive. Will Compton coming back up. It might be as impressive as
Starting point is 00:23:34 Josh Pete being up 40 units. 40 units. Closer to 41 than you are 40. Hey, check out this. Obviously, gambling, I lost. But if I hit, if that money line hit for Nebraska,
Starting point is 00:23:50 I would have had a plus 24 unit weekend. Nothing to write home about them. I'm laying the papers down like I'm excited, but I lost. Once again, hey, you're in the driver's seat. It's you are Nebraska of the locker room right now. I started to point at the sports book. Yes.
Starting point is 00:24:05 And then they hit me on a fucking 75-yard ball. And then statistically things just, yeah, things just went back and forth. Nick Marsh had to come from the shadows. And handle business. I was like, because I saw you over there going like this to your phone. I thought you were FaceTime and someone.
Starting point is 00:24:18 You were just pointing at the Fandel lap. Yeah. I thought you were doing. I think that's most concerned here. Will is made massive traction. If you were to come down, watch a show for the first time, It's like, oh, Will Compton, not doing very well.
Starting point is 00:24:28 Will's doing extremely well the last couple of weeks. People thought minus 50 was on the table. Yes. With the way the season started. The way he was talking was I'm trying to get to minus 50. Like he reversed psychology himself. I'm at plus 10. It's gone now.
Starting point is 00:24:41 I don't know where it went. I'm at plus 10 and it feels like I'm kind of just, I'm walking in place right now. You're just there right now. Like, oh, shit, Josh, plus 40. Yeah, I'm three and two in my picks, but my parlay doesn't hit. I got to figure out a way that we start taking steps forward. not just being complacent where we need to be it's good strategy but overall plus 40 like what's the game plan for the rest of the season well i could just sit on it and go one unit okay but that's not
Starting point is 00:25:07 fun yeah or i could go for 80 go for a hundred i mean if where we're at right right now like triple digits is on the table it is on the table yeah of course history says actually forget history yeah forget history no no no no yeah we're going for 80 yeah exactly you don't forget history That's in the rearview mirror. And I was just at your truck. There is no rearview mirror in your truck. No, there's not. Yeah, there's only a big ass windshield.
Starting point is 00:25:32 Only look forward. We only look forward. Let's get into the games, boys. What do you say? Anything else on Nebraska before? No, no, no, no. You feel good? I feel great.
Starting point is 00:25:39 All right. The only thing, yeah, forget history. Forget the last 10 years. Nothing exists. Nothing exists. Forget the last 10 years. Page 1 today. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:48 Missouri at Ole Miss. Ole Miss is favored by six and a half points. The total in this game is 58 and a half. How are we feeling, fellas? Well, this game shouldn't be on SEC network, first off. Drink said it. Drink said it. They got networked.
Starting point is 00:26:07 He turned it into a verb. They got networked. Yeah. Yeah. So this has five Chalai Classic written all over. Talk to all. How high does the Chalai go? Five.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Wow. Yeah. This has classic written all over it. Just a couple of weeks ago, Missouri went to Mississippi State. And I thought that was the game of the week. And that was, but that was at a former life when Austin Simmons had no interceptions. Now, he's throwing a pick.
Starting point is 00:26:33 No, yeah, he was turnover with that. And if we had, if we go back in time, I know we don't look at history, but I know somebody on this show said, he's due for one. Yep. And then someone else on this show said, yeah, he's probably going to throw a pick
Starting point is 00:26:44 that tips off a receiver in some shape, former fashion. And congrats to both of us. Statline doesn't say that. Congrats to both of us. Yeah. I will say I was, I was fired up when I saw that he threw.
Starting point is 00:26:55 And I like Austin Simmons. Like, you're an Austin Simmons guy. You talk me into like a hater of Austin Simmons and I'm not. I just wanted to be right about this one moment. Unfortunately, he had to be the body that took place. I'm an Austin Simmons guy. I was thrilled when he threw that interception. Those are the two thoughts that you're trying to convey here.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Yeah, and I think I landed that plane in Iceland. Yep, both of them landed. Taylor found out he threw a pick when we were getting on the plane. He's like, oh, Austin Simpson's throwing him. I told him. I told him. Got him. Then club or somebody was like, hey, it was a tip ball. He's like, he still threw one.
Starting point is 00:27:22 We were doing the college football recap. on Monday and I was spouting off clearly you heard it because I got some text messages from you you didn't get a text you got a video a video a video from you and as i'm being like awesome simmons i said it i called it crystal ball louis and mitch is under his breath like it bounced off the wide receiver's and i'm like i ignore him in the moment but i definitely registered all of it the same time it was uh it was just nice to be right once in a while you know a quarterback matchup here right there's a lot to talk about this is a great quarterback matchup yeah like the it could be one of the quarterback matchups of the year feels like we said that a few times in the
Starting point is 00:27:55 SEC but I got some good quarterback this one is though it all of them have Trinidad Chambliss Austin Simmons you're gonna be in Ole Miss the spot that you ended up leaving looking across the sideline against the cat that ended up taking your job this is a huge game you took your family yes massive game listen old miss being 24 and one at home and Tritad Chambers never losing a game at home as he's been the start tomorrow Roberts 200 plus yard games I think was that three three weeks in a row Two weeks in a row. Only person to do that, Henry, Fernett, and Bowden, like, they're going to run the football.
Starting point is 00:28:30 And as much as we are excited about Ole Miss and their front seven, like, that's the strength because they got the big guys in the middle, like the way Missouri runs the football in the outside zone, like they're going to get these guys east to west quite a bit. So it's like, oh, that with the way Austin Simmons is playing with those two wide receivers, you feel like it's going to be close because Ole Miss's defense from the run standpoint, we thought was going to be phenomenal this year. They're bottom in the SEC. So for me, when I look at this game, two things can be true.
Starting point is 00:28:56 I think Ole Miss wins this game. I think there's a lot of ways for Missouri to keep this game close and to be in it towards the end. There's also a world we can live in where we get all shell-shocked and be like, oh yeah, Missouri is not a contender in the SEC. And then Ole Miss does what they've done to plenty of teams and that's run up the score. People can't compete. I tend to believe and drink at this point and a strong run game. So I'm going to take Missouri plus six and a half. I do believe Ole Missa win.
Starting point is 00:29:21 I think this is going to be close. I love the idea of five chalai game. I'll put three units on them. Three units. Okay. And I do want to say there's very few games I'm confident about this week. Three units is kind of just where I want to put it because I need to make something shaking these units. Three is the new five.
Starting point is 00:29:37 Three is the new one. All right. All right says in the world. Three is the new one for me. I love Missou here. I love Missou. A few weeks ago we were talking about. Let him finish.
Starting point is 00:29:50 He might, he might like old men. It's just the way the potts took place and he stared at you. We were talking a few weeks ago, like the thing that hadn't come along because it was just, it was mainly Austin Simmons, but the thing that hadn't come along was the run game. Like you look at Roberts out a few weeks ago, it was all about jaden ball this, Jane ball that, like Roberts, dude, over, he leads the SEC in rushing yards. He's got over 800. They have a run game.
Starting point is 00:30:15 Ole Miss is abysmal against the run. Where my question mark is, is can Austin Simmons win with a lead, when he's in a shootout against an offense? It's all about throwing the football. I love Missou when they are against run first teams. But Ole Miss, especially at home, you talked about the record at home and Trinidad Chambliss. I think that is where I'm just taking Missou with the points here because I'm getting real
Starting point is 00:30:42 close to having that Missouri money line and then winning outright because Missouri has the to make a run at the college football playoff. Like if they take care of Ole Miss here, like who are the teams that they have on their schedule? You got Texas, they still have Oklahoma. Who else do they have on their schedule? Ole Miss. Yeah, they take care of them.
Starting point is 00:31:01 Georgia. Yeah, they play Georgia. But those teams again, run first football teams. To me, it comes down to Austin Simmons against the opposition being a passing attack. And where is he at when he has pressure on him? Because we saw kind of sputter against Mississippi State.
Starting point is 00:31:16 against Mississippi State at Mississippi State a few weeks ago. That's where my only question mark is. I like Missouri plus six and a half here. I think they're going to be able to run the football. If Roberts is running at five yards of clip, especially if they went on early downs, I like them keeping Trinidad and that offense off the field because they're explosive.
Starting point is 00:31:32 Like Trinidad Chambers is still a monster. It's just when I look at Ole Miss, how valuable is their LSU win now that we've seen LSU play? How valuable is that Louisville win now that we've seen Louisville play this year? They dominated Vanderbilt, but Vanderbilt has nobody really on that team. Like when they're trying to run the ball, this is a massive front to where they just, they bullied Vandy. Like when you're seeing a split zone, the tight end's getting crushed and damn near in the B gap.
Starting point is 00:32:00 They have nowhere to go. To run the ball, they had to just do like jet sweeps and sweeps and options and everything else. Mizzou can run the football. They have a quarterback. They're very good. They're performing like a top 12 unit defensively in the country. I like Missouri here with the points plus six and a half. Unit size.
Starting point is 00:32:20 Oh, wow. I'm confident. I like Missouri here with the points. He won't Lacey back in the mix. Yeah, yeah. Dude, I mean, you watch them shut down ball. Like this team stopping the run is very good. To meet Austin Simmons and Trinidad Chambers.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Can Austin Simmons keep that poison the fourth quarter? I look at it as Trinidad Chambliss and Missouri's offense in totality. That's no knock on Q on Lacey, who by the way, they're coming off a bi-week, two weeks ago. He only carried it seven times against Vandy. So he should be as healthy as you could reasonably be at this time of year. But you were mentioning what Jamal Roberts has done, if that were happening for LSU, I think it would be one of the stories of the year. Like if they had lost...
Starting point is 00:33:03 He'd been in a He'd been a Heisman conversation. If they had lost a Mon Hardy or an Amad Hardy caliber player and some guy was coming in going over 200 back-to-back weeks, doing stuff like you said, that very few guys in the last... two decades have done in the SEC, that'd be a huge story. But since it's Missouri, nationally, it's not a huge story. But here we are here, so we can make it a huge story. So you're going against the run defense for Ole Miss and the 100s. So I trust that they can get theirs on the ground.
Starting point is 00:33:29 Missouri's been very good at limiting teams on the ground. It's the fact that they're in the 90s and past D is the reason I say, Trinidad Chambers probably has a lot more workload fall on his shoulders than Austin Simmons does. He can handle it. I'm not saying he can't handle it. I'm just saying if you have the facet that's dependable week to week, being the ground game, that leads me to believe you have the possibility of achieving a lot more offensive balance. It also leads me to believe you have the possibility of controlling the game a lot more.
Starting point is 00:33:57 But even then, like there's so many different aspects of what Trinidad Chambliss can do to you that makes me think it's kind of one of those last teams with the ball type of games. So it's very simple to me. If you're giving me anything over really four, much less six and a half. a half, I just take the underdog. I take Missouri plus six and a half. I'll go three units on that as well. That's about where my confidence level is. I thought about going with the over, because I know that's going to be really tempting here. Man, if it's a Missouri game, if it's an old miss game, forget about it. If it's a Missouri game, that probably coincides with them ball
Starting point is 00:34:32 controlling you a little bit more than your mind thinks will happen. And we end up having a game in the load of mid-50s. So I'm going to just take the points with Missouri for three units. I really thought when you had that pause and stared at well, I was like, oh, he is going. I'm working on my, working on my predictability. For Ole Miss on the horizon from Josh Pate. The Ole Miss Tough Football Team. Trudey. He had three interceptions last year, three or four, all of last year.
Starting point is 00:34:58 He's had one in every single game this year other than Charlotte. Like, he's still like probably the best quarterback. Like if you're looking at a quarterback from a high-sman standpoint, he's still that dude. He's your guy. Yeah. But there is like, there are smaller things that's like, oh, okay. Like not as good as last year in. this specific category.
Starting point is 00:35:16 And, you know, obviously they'll be playing with a lighter box and get as many bodies in the past game as possible. Because to your point, like they are, they're not that good statistically in past defense. But it's like when you watch the old misdap, it's just mainly inside zone. They're just using the run game, but it's all Trinidad, which he is a baller. Top 15 team, Missouri top 15 team in havoc rate this year. But that's going against a quarterback like Aaron Filo where you pretty well know where he's going to be. Chambliss affecting him's only part of the chore. You got to get him on the ground. It's
Starting point is 00:35:48 really hard to get him on the ground. But if you don't get him on the ground and you force some errant throws, like you said, who knows, maybe you steal a possession or two. And getting to him too, not saying that Mazu doesn't have a pass rush. They do. But Trinette just gets the ball out very fast. He knows what he's doing at all times. Yeah, it's almost like you rather contain rush him anyway and make him throw from the pocket as opposed to getting a free runner where he can go and dance around in the back end breaks down. That's where he has this big explosive place. Yeah. Um, exciting. game. Exciting slate overall. Notre Dame at BYU, first time since 2009 that call, what,
Starting point is 00:36:19 game day is headed that way? Massive game team, plays two top 10 teams. Right now, Notre Dame is favored minus 10 and a half at BYU, at Provo. How do you feel? To me, it's can BYU run the football? Can they win on early downs? Because that's what it's going to be, they're going to have to, it's going to be bare, he's going to have to run. They don't have L.J. Martin, that's a massive hit. Notre Dame is, dude, Notre Dame is nice. Defensively, like, you can look at the Heisman candidates of Darien Mentsa, Jeremiah Smith, all these guys are getting a lot of love because Notre Dame just doesn't have that tough of a schedule. So you're not necessarily seeing what C.J. Cars do, but that dude is dialed the run games coming along. They got some guys
Starting point is 00:36:59 coming to life on the outside at receiver for him. But this defense is just the real deal. So the only way BYU has a shot is if they can run the football. And Notre Dame's only giving up like two rushing yards per attempt on the ground. Like they are so good top to bottom. Doesn't matter who's in there. They have depth. They have everything defensively. And I think, are they getting winner more back this week?
Starting point is 00:37:22 This weekend? I believe, don't quote me on that, but I believe you should play. Yeah. Like they're getting healthier. I know Kingston was out. Kingston was out recently with an injury, but do this dude. This team is very good. And they're finally going to be on a national.
Starting point is 00:37:35 They're going to be in a national spotlight against BYU. Game Days going out there. It's the first, you know, this. It's the first game that Notre Dame will have to put on display for the country. BYU has a lot carrying on their shoulders because this is a huge game for the Big 12th. But I like Notre Dame here. I like Notre Dame to cover because I just don't think BYU is going to be able. They are good at running the football.
Starting point is 00:37:57 I don't believe they'll be able to run it against Notre Dame. BYU's defense is good. I just think C.J. Carr is playing better than most people realize. I like Notre Dame here a lot. I'll put three units on that, Notre Dame to cover it. cost there. Are you trying to imply maybe Notre Dame choke job? No. No, I'm not. I have this weird tickle right here and back of the throat. And I'll be honest. Those are the worst. I had it on Monday. Yes. I had to leave. I had to leave the last night I'm sleeping and I had I woke up like three times just I
Starting point is 00:38:28 start watering. Yeah. Yeah. And it's just this residual from being sick whatever two weeks ago. It started attacking him late in the interview on Monday with Dusty Slay and he just starts sitting there. And I'm like, we have to get the bus, not once, come back. I'm like, okay, I think I figured it out. Sit back down and get back off. All that to be said, Notre Dame choke job is completely off the table for me. Completely off the table. Like, I can't even talk.
Starting point is 00:38:54 I feel it coming. Go ahead. You don't, so I, this happened to me a couple of years ago. I had to just stop a show. Dude. I couldn't toss it to anyone. I was doing a solo show. I just had to stop the show because I couldn't talk, by the way.
Starting point is 00:39:08 Because when it caught in my throat, it just went like this. Yeah. And I had to say, we're done. We'll be back Tuesday. And I just had to stop the show. I'm glad. I didn't expect you to have empathy for my situation. It's bad.
Starting point is 00:39:19 It makes you feel a whole lot better. It's really bad. It's my biggest fear this time of year. And go into football games. And here's the underrated part. If you do multiple bits of media throughout the week, you talk more than you think you do. If you have a cough in the fall, that puts added strain on the vocal cords. But what really kills you is if you go to a football game every Saturday, the
Starting point is 00:39:38 cumulative effect of having to yell to talk, which you have to do in a football stadium, that's what drags your voice, that's what drags your vocal cords, and that's what leads to the throat tickle. I'm not concerned now because we're obviously shooting the show. It's not live. If this happens Friday. We got to have a protocol. We got to have a protocol in place. Yeah. We ended up this episode to bring you neutral. Neutral taste great, tastes better than any seltzer I've ever tried to spend with real vodka and real juice. That's what makes it taste delicious. I said this on Monday. I've had my two favorites. and lime. I'm here to announce once again, pineapple and blueberry are my two new favorites. Perfect for social occasions. Crowd pleaser,
Starting point is 00:40:17 especially during the summer. Think beaches or friends, outdoor bar on a lake at a music festival. Perfect time of year to grab a 12 pack of neutral for the beach or grab a bucket deal in your favorite bar to celebrate summer. We're technically in fall now. Neutral, keep it tasty.
Starting point is 00:40:32 We gotta figure something out. It'll just come out of nowhere. Like this morning, I had what happened again. I was like, holy shit, dude. What if I was on air? What if I was on air? I do it all the time. You get you some chicken brawl, some hot tea.
Starting point is 00:40:44 I gotta get something going, dude. There's some honey in there. Yeah. Chicken noodle soup and a little bit of seven up calling a day. Get dialed them. You just quit. Yeah. What's that?
Starting point is 00:40:52 Seven up and chicken noodle soup. That's a South Park reference. Notre Dame, minus 10 and a half. Early in the year, like they're a one-dimensional team. They were throwing the ball really well. CJ Carr, you talked about 70% completion percentage. He's taking care of the football. Offenseline did a great job protecting.
Starting point is 00:41:09 They only have given up two stacks this year so far. They have four or five guys. We're turning. So this is one of the better offensive lines in the league. In the last couple of weeks, Jonas Walton. This dude's run for over 400 yards against Stanford and UNC. And I know those are two names that aren't going to wow anybody, but it's starting to show that Marcus Freeman in this offense and C.J. Cart,
Starting point is 00:41:29 they're getting where they can win multiple ways. It's going to be very interesting to see against a B.Y team that does a really good job stopping the run. but when I'm looking at both sides, LJ Martin being out and Bear having, I think, more than 50% of their rush yards since LJ's been out, seems like it's a pretty easy team to stop. And when you have the corners that Notre Dame does,
Starting point is 00:41:50 you can play a lot of man and you can kind of load that box and say, okay, you have to beat us through the air now. And if you have to beat through the air, I don't trust BYU long term for 60 minutes being able to do this. Notre Dame, we talked about being there in the spring. When we were there in the spring, they broke everything down on 10.
Starting point is 00:42:06 Why? Because they lost two games last year and they am getting taken out of the playoffs. On their big screen, they're showing highlights of other teams doing well against them. Freeman's done a great job from a cultural standpoint, looking at history, which we've said you shouldn't do, and showing it to their team over and over again to have that chip on the shoulder. We know that their schedule is not very strong. They have this game and they have Miami. And these are the two games that they have to have. And as much as people probably say they don't look at it, they have to cover.
Starting point is 00:42:33 They have to show that they're a dominant football team. So when we get into this playoff situation, and they're on that cusp, I don't think they will be, because I do think they're going to win this game. We'll get to Miami in a couple weeks down the road. But they have to have a good body of work against a few good teams they play. CJ Carr, ultimate competitor, done a great job with the football. They don't have very many turnovers. Their defense flies around one of the top in the country. BYU, not having L.J. Martin, that in effect gives me, I'm loving Notre Dame minus 10 and a half. Now I'll do three, three units on that. Let's say I told you, congrats, Notre Dame's going to cover. The final is going to be 30 to 16. The music you love. I heart radio.

People like the co-founder of Buddy's Coffee, Rachel, who quickly went from being a New York Times success story to facing eviction. Being, you know, deemed a successful business by, like, you know, I mean, so New York Times, like, as, like, a Puerto Rican girl from New York who didn't finish college. He was like, I was like, holy crap, like, I'm finally doing something.
Starting point is 00:46:45 Like, maybe this is all working out. And then that day when the landlord comes in, it's like, you like, you like, it all over that idea and he stepped on me. Starting point is 00:47:54 Listen to Front Page from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Does that not feel like a reasonably high-scoring game for this kind of match-up? Could be, yeah. Okay, because that still hits the under. So I'm going to go five units on the under at 46.5. There are so many paths here
Starting point is 00:48:19 where maybe Brigham Young gets shut down entirely, and it's irrelevant how many points Notre Dame scores. But there are others where, like, if I played this game in Houston, Texas, Would you even give a passing thought to picking BYU? No. No, it's all environment. Like, it's all Provo, Utah. It's all going in there.
Starting point is 00:48:38 Rightfully so. It's an extremely tough place to go into. I know Marcus Freeman said, we're built for this. We do this all the time. And he's right. Like, they go into weird places all the time. Not that place. That's like a uniquely weird place.
Starting point is 00:48:50 So I stack that, just stacking the pancakes here. You also talk about L.J. Martin being out. The other part of that is Bottenmeyer, 109 yards rushing versus Iowa State, he kind of has to be their leading rusher. And you kind of know that's got to be the game playing because they're not, they haven't thrown the ball against inferior secondaries. They're not going to throw the ball against Notre Dame. And then conversely, if Notre Dame gets an early lead, you know that game script is just them sitting on it, them bleeding clock, which probably ends up still leading to a double digit win. Like to me, classically, when you think
Starting point is 00:49:24 about trying to gain style points, you think of running the score up. To me, not. To me, not Notre Dame gaining style points here is them driving the opponent score down. Holding, are you pitching a shutout or holding them to single digits or something like that? So like 23 to 10, 27 to 13, those kind of scores, those all hit the under. Like if Notre Dame just runs away and scores 40 by themselves, okay, I'm screwed. But I think this game script is a really classic under game script. I'm surprised that they put that total in the mid to upper 40s instead of low to mid 40s. but I think that's respect for Notre Dame
Starting point is 00:49:57 and what they could do offensively. So I'll go five units on under 46.5. That's a good bet. Thank you. Great bet. Is there a world where, since Notre Dame has played literally nobody up into this point, that we are totally overvaluing them
Starting point is 00:50:11 and undervaluing BYU? I think the first part, yes. I don't think you're undervalue in Brigham Young. That's another possibility that I was thinking about that also leans me towards under. to me it would be very surprising, unless you told me there are going to be defensive scores and special team scores, which are not predictable, that Brigham Young scoring too many points costs me the over. If they win the game, it's a low-scoring rock fight of a game. So, yeah, it is possible that Notre Dame just goes in there and they get crowbarred.
Starting point is 00:50:41 They grind to a halt and they're trying to scratch out 17 points and it's hard for them to do. But it's not, man, we've got to keep up with Brigham Young because they're just moving the ball consistently on us. And look, if I blow an under because Brigham Young's offense minus L.J. Martin just consistently moves the ball on Notre Dame. Okay, tip my cat to him. I lost. But I got to see that to believe it. it. Move my three units to the under.
Starting point is 00:51:06 I want the under. For three. For three units. You can move to the under? I'm moving it. Yeah, he's up 40 units. Like, and everything he's saying is true. Everything he said was true, but I, like, no, I want to do that, but I feel like if I do that, we, what is the show of?
Starting point is 00:51:21 Oh yeah. You're a sellout conformist if you do that. You'd be a cell. Yeah. I'll move him. You did it first was makes it okay. The minute I do that, I'm a sheet plus something else. You're just a sheet.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Take for a so much said, stay there, big boy. I'm like shit. We're on the under. I'll take Notre Dame minus 10 and a half. Now, if since you're on the under, do you root for the upset? No. You don't root for the upset. No, Notre Dame is my national champion.
Starting point is 00:51:48 That's right. Notre Dame is also like Will Compton's Alabama. They're adopted team. They treated you that well up there. You went to Marcus's house. We'll play for the Washington Redskins and he quietly roots for the Dallas Cowboys. Like he, this is just the college football version of the Dallas Cowboys for him. He signed a contract.
Starting point is 00:52:10 He signed a contract. Did you sign it? Yeah, I signed it. Yeah. Did you, did you sign it? I didn't get offered. Oh, that's right. That's right.
Starting point is 00:52:18 I didn't either. Neither of us got all. They were doing to make good. Yeah, I grew up. I grew up a Notre Dame fan. Which is crazy too because he actually ended up offering him in high school at the end. And he was like, well, I don't want to play fullback. I never, I never got offered ever.
Starting point is 00:52:32 Oh, I was not. Like, well, we heard so we were to offer you again. I'm thinking, I'm right here, guys. All-American. I'm right. Like, every version. I was all, and all right. But yeah, let's watch this film with them and tell them what they're doing again.
Starting point is 00:52:46 So wait, who did you, you took Notre Dame? Well, yeah, I don't have a choice now. How many units? Three. Three units, okay. Three's my new one. So no one's rooting for the upset here. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:52:55 I like, I'm a fan of Freeman. I'm a fan of Carr. I'm a fan of, like, this team. And like, I think they have a real chance to do something this year. Okay, I do too. But if they, hey, this one's close. Wait, wait. I know none of us said we're rooting for it.
Starting point is 00:53:11 Let's just say in a crazy world, it happens. Do you know what that does is that Notre Dame Miami game? Yeah. Oh, no. No, it makes it, it makes it a fight to the death. Notre Dame can't lose two games this year. Some say they can't lose one. They definitely can't lose two games this year.
Starting point is 00:53:29 They definitely can't lose both of those games. No, they're out if they do that. I don't even know that Notre Dame fans would disagree with that. That's the trade-off of knowing you play a schedule like this. Would Notre Dame fans disagree with that? No, they win up. You lose to Miami. They know that they have to, you can't, yeah, they can't lose two games.
Starting point is 00:53:45 They can't lose their only two games they got on the schedule. Shout out Kevin. Shout out Kevin. I can't wait to see him again. All right. Am I a Homer for Notre Dame? Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:00 Yeah. Defense is for real. I saw a crazy story on why that became the Fighting Irish. I don't know if it was true. I'll tell you guys after the show. It has to do it. Okay. It's got to do with racism.
Starting point is 00:54:10 They fought back. So no. Yeah, back then. Is that how it worked? Well, we'll tell you after the show. Look, I read NFL in zones, so I don't believe in any of that stuff. All right.
Starting point is 00:54:22 You brought up defensive touchdowns, special teams touchdowns. Kentucky at Oklahoma. Cole Kublick on the call. Cole Kublick on the call. He's on the call. He sure is. Colcuba.
Starting point is 00:54:35 Shout out of. Shut up. Oh, Oklahoma favored six and a half. Total in that game is 43 and a half points. Last week I sat there. Red River shootout, Red River rivalry, depending on who you are, what side you lean. I took the under on that game and it bit me right in the ass. And a big piece of that was because of defensive touchdowns and special teams touchdowns.
Starting point is 00:55:00 So my question to you guys is, is Oklahoma fix? I've talked to a couple people at Oklahoma, not quarter zip guy. He wouldn't return my call. But a couple other people I'll reach out to. He won't return your call. I don't have his number. I was making a nice little. Well, put us in a group chat.
Starting point is 00:55:15 Quarter zip guy, Taylor, Taylor, get quarter zip guy. Here's what we got to do after the show. You got to tell us about the Notre Dame racism story. Yep. And I've got a link you and. Cues it. Mike up. He has a real name.
Starting point is 00:55:26 He has a name. Yes. He has a pretty good guy. Look at or not. He'll use his real name. We'll talk. Quarter zip guy. We'll talk.
Starting point is 00:55:32 Quarter zip guy. You talked to our boy? No, no, no, no, no. I talked to a different one, one of my boys. Gotcha. Yeah. Oklahoma fans are very excited. They think they think they're fixed.
Starting point is 00:55:45 Totally fixed? They think they're fixed. They are excited. They think the keys of the game here are clearly playing very well in defense. Defense is to keep you in every single game. And just not the circus style miscues by John Mateer, which is what John Matier did in this game. He just didn't have the go to pump fake ball falls out of his hand, crazy interceptions backed up.
Starting point is 00:56:08 All of those. If you can just take care of the football and handle it, Kentucky, from their defense, their whole defense scheme is we're not going to get beat by X place. We're going to back up. We're going to let you have things in front of us. We're going to keep you in front of us. We're going to keep the game close because we believe in our offensive line.
Starting point is 00:56:22 We believe in our run game. We believe in Will Stein and his ability to keep games close. Because he's shown early if you're able to do that, they're going to win the game. Put up the two, call it a day. So in this game, Oklahoma's gonna be successful. John Mottier, and it's just, you know, cheeky,
Starting point is 00:56:36 but like take care of the football. Cetania and beers, crossing routes over the middle, check downs, just death by a thousand cuts. And if Oklahoma can do that and put points on the board, get into the red zone and take advantage, that's where they find their success along with Sooner Nation, which seems to be revitalized. All that being said, this is one of those games
Starting point is 00:56:57 I look at in the slate, and I'm like, I have no idea where to go. Because like, can come Kentucky's defense, they'll give up like 24 points a game, 28 points a game, whatever it is. Kenny Minchie, his passing yards, like after the ball is caught, 900 yards, he's thrown for 1,300 yards. So they're all perimeter, let guys go out there, make plays, make a guy missed. You're getting 7, you're getting 10, you're getting 12. But Oklahoma's defense, they're phenomenal at tackling space.
Starting point is 00:57:24 Their defense is top to bottom as good as he can possibly get. I just sit there and I wonder, is it going to be a close game? Can they stay, can Kentucky stay as balanced as they have been? I think if I'm really leaning on it, yes is my answer. But I think Oklahoma still wins this game. So I'll take Kentucky plus six and a half, three units. But this is one of those. My three unit is really a one unit.
Starting point is 00:57:49 I'm just saying three units because I'm trying to stay in the game here with plus 40 unit guys. Wow. Oh, you're chasing. Consistent though. I'm a consistent chase. I've revved up the RPS, but we're not going any, We're just standing right here at three.
Starting point is 00:58:04 Just trying to head a double. It's a hard one, right? Yeah, it is. Like, I think Oklahoma wins. Dude, they cover six and a half points. They ain't fixed. No. Like, that offense ain't fixed.
Starting point is 00:58:18 Tell you what, John Matera, that last drive, he had a couple downfield, and he peppered, what's his name, Certania? Cetania. Yeah, on the sideline, like, that's the Jamitier you want to see all the time. But the majority of the game, he's on the perimeter with screens and everything else.
Starting point is 00:58:33 Yeah, this. Like, it's not fixed. Now, where I feel like they have that, like, them winning the Red River shootout. That's what said he's on. That's got to, like, to me, it's going to unlock this. Because you look at their schedule. It's like, who do they have, they have Kentucky, Mississippi, State, South Carolina, Florida. They can get back fully in this thing.
Starting point is 00:58:53 So I think they're juice inside the locker room now. Like, they have to win. They have to continue to stack Ws after taking down the number one team in the country in the AP poll. week in Texas and they still they beat that team without an offense so I'm gonna take Oklahoma to cover here and I'm only gonna put one unit on it because I'm not confident I have no clue they got a nice block punt for a touchdown their special teams came alive defenses is they are that unit the same
Starting point is 00:59:22 formula they had last year we saw it over the weekend against Texas now they can they carry this momentum in their next four weeks coming up with opponents that are very beatable so I'm gonna go Oklahoma minus six and a half with one unit. Love Willie Stein, love this offense. Kentucky's defense is basically, if they score, whether they don't score, if the offense scores on us,
Starting point is 00:59:41 we just want to get the ball back to our offense. It doesn't even matter what you guys do to us. Right, right. The thing that you brought up that I hate when you do put on the film and you see like one drive of like John McHen, you're like, yeah, that's the guy. That's the guy you want. There he is.
Starting point is 00:59:53 You can see the same thing. Like, there's a couple of run plays. You're like, okay, maybe they can run the ball, but like they can't. And it's like, you want, you like. This Kentucky defense is where it can, now that can fool us this weekend. Like, oh, Oklahoma, they have fixed a lot of stuff.
Starting point is 01:00:06 Yeah. Maybe they are back. Maybe they are. Are they back, Josh? I don't know. No, of course not. Oh. Classically, this is a spot where OU wins by three touchdowns.
Starting point is 01:00:20 Kentucky is off back-to-back game-winning two-point conversion situations. High emotionally draining wins back-to-back. This is classically where you go on the road and you get dump trucked. You just fall back. to earth. It's a double due down spot in gambling terms. OU's in one, too. Because OU just came off winning the Red River shootout in the way they did. And so I don't really know if that cancels each other out, but it's not like this lopsided seesaw on the ground towards OU like it would normally be. The second part is if you're in that kind of due down spot and you face a
Starting point is 01:00:57 dominant defense, it makes me worried that you just get completely clamped. It is the most quintessential classic crowbar theory game that you could possibly have. That's part two. Part three is Will Stein and those guys have been doing stuff they're not supposed to do all year. So this is just another spot where they could be able to do something that they haven't done all year. Last time, I know this doesn't mean as much now, but remember when they went on the road against A&M, they didn't go into A&M and like fight and just have a chance in the fourth quarter. They just pulled away and dominated the game.
Starting point is 01:01:31 They went to South Carolina and won. So they've already gone on the road in the SEC multiple times. This hasn't been just like home cooking type magic. They've gone on the road. You asked the most important question. Has Oklahoma figured something out? Because this time last year, OU got left for dead.
Starting point is 01:01:47 It was a better OU team. But they got left for dead and they had to go to Neeland and they had to go to Bryant-Denie Stadium. They had to go to Tennessee and Alabama. And I didn't think they'd win either of those games. And they found a way to win both of those games. And they came back from the dead. So the question is, do you think they're about to put together that kind of hard to kill, second half run coming out of the woods type performance?
Starting point is 01:02:10 And I'm still not there, but I wasn't there last year. So, you know, take comfort in that. I'm going to take Kentucky plus six and a half. Very low confidence. Seems like all of us are low confidence on this. I think if Kentucky can get an early score, that seems a lot more significant against an offensively challenged team like OU than it normally would. So I'll take them plus six and a half for one unit. Very little confidence.
Starting point is 01:02:32 I think that game is the most unpredictable of all the games on the board that we're looking at this week. Because you could tell me 27 to 3. Oh, you? And I'd be like, man, I missed that one. But that's not shocking. But you could also tell me Kentucky pulls the upset, and I wouldn't have my mind blown either. So this is a really unpredictable game. So I'm going no confidence.
Starting point is 01:02:53 Kentucky plus six and a half one unit. And like Oklahoma, like very hard place to play. A rabid fan base, but New Mexico was in there week three. 13 to 6. Yeah. It was not a very impressive game to see. And we have to assume that New Mexico doesn't have as good as players at this point as Kentucky. Well, don't assume that.
Starting point is 01:03:12 Can't assume that. It's a good team. Good ball club over there. 14 to 6, they'll cover 6 and a half. No, it doesn't. For OU, it does. For OU it does. You're right.
Starting point is 01:03:23 Yeah, because I got OU. Come on, my, bud. There you got. Yeah, I got it. OU just has to have it, man. Like, even if you have the emotional win, like that ain't, they have zero. You have zero time to afford anything because they just have to, hey, they got to go. They got to go, but do they go? Can they go?
Starting point is 01:03:41 That's a four cylinder right there. A couple balls last year. How bad does Texas look if Kentucky wins in this game? They already look bad. Like, independent of what happens here, the way that game ended last week is inexcusably bad. But what if- Dude, I know Arch is getting shit on, but he had some bombs in that game. He had three or four downfield that looked. You did in the Tennessee game too? He also had a handful of throws that are a couple of times where those guys are wide open and he's trying to press it to run out of spot.
Starting point is 01:04:10 No doubt. Maybe I'm talking out of turn. It's so frustrating because like we're both, we're all probably massive fans of the Mannings. We love that family. They've done nothing wrong, but they've only done good in this country from what I can tell.
Starting point is 01:04:22 I want this kid to be successful. But some of the things are like, bro, how many more weapons do you need? He can't throw that when he had that pick late in the game. You can't throw that. throw that ball when you're on the move like that. No, you could take a knee and put your team in better positions than what he did.
Starting point is 01:04:38 Let me float this something to you. This would have been very irresponsible to ask up until right now. I know we're not breaking down Texas, but just quickly, he is facing a horrendous secondary this week in Florida. If they don't do anything, if they don't do much, if they don't succeed through the air against Florida, I don't think it's irresponsible anymore to be asking, like, do we think about making a move here? I don't think Sark would.
Starting point is 01:05:04 Like he had the whole thing earlier this week where, well, if his last name wasn't Manning, people wouldn't be criticizing him. Actually, it's the other way. I think if his last name wasn't Manning and they don't rip Florida this week, I think people would already be talking about K.J. Lacey, let's see what he can do. And I cannot believe I'm saying that. But that's kind of where we are right now. I don't think, I think if they go and they don't do well against this Florida secondary, the answer for them is not, oh, let's see. with the next quarterback and deal, it's the same thing they did to Quinn yours. Or it's like, even if Quinn yours kind of wanted to stay there like, time for you to. Yeah, but that's next year.
Starting point is 01:05:41 I'm talking about next game. I know, but I just don't, I don't see Sark doing that. I don't know. It feels very uncomfortable having this conversation because his last name is Manning. Yeah. But that's the only reason it feels uncomfortable. Yeah. You're right. So he's getting benefit of doubt because of his last name. He's not getting overly criticized just because of his last name. Like I thought Sark said that earlier this week and badly. misrepresented the situation. It's actually the antithesis, the exact opposite of what he said. Now, they could score 45 and it'd be a moot point, which I hope they do. But you got to remember, this isn't some three-lost Texas team. They're still in the thick of the playoff race.
Starting point is 01:06:15 Yeah. So at some point, if you struggle win against Florida, you got to do what's best for that team. I know you put the blind stats up on Bustin and Pate last week and to compare it. The answer for me was, well, John Mateers had fumbles and misused that don't show in the stat line. And then we get to pick six and the fumbles and all the things that's like, oh shit. We interrupt this episode to shout out Jack Daniels. Shout out, no free shoutout. And whether I'm at a tailgater on the couch watching Nebraska or Michigan this weekend on Saturday, Jack Daniels is a staple on my game day roster.
Starting point is 01:06:43 You can expand your playbook with the cinnamon kick of Jack fire, the smooth taste of Jack honey, the crisp and refreshing Jack apple, and the only blackberry bursting with Jack. Personally, your boy is a smooth taste of that Jack honey. No matter how you stack your unit, there's a Jack for every football fan. Let's get back to the episode. And Will, you've done the best thing that either any of us could have done at this point is be quiet during this conversation. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:07 Well, so I was watching that game yesterday, and it's like you're looking at both quarterbacks of blind stats and Materia Manning against each other in the shootout. Like, dude, Manning outplayed. I know he had those picks. Manning was playing some good ball. He was playing some good ball. Go take a peekski. Go take a peekski on all of his attempts.
Starting point is 01:07:26 But just watch all of his attempts. Like, I'm taking Manning over Matier. based on what he can do with the football. But there's still so much on there. There's still so much meat left on the bone of where this didn't have to be a close game. What's the line on this Florida, Texas game? Is it 10 and a half or something like that?
Starting point is 01:07:49 10 and a half. What's your tiny, 80-Broscopic computer say about this game? I think it leans Texas. Yeah, but it's also overrated. It's a Texas spot. Who? Brinnell Brown. Oh, VB3.
Starting point is 01:08:05 If the four A buddy That's interesting If the formula for beating Florida is shutting their run game down And it's Texas you're going against There's no reason Texas shouldn't win this game running away You got a weak secondary for Florida You got a completely ineffective offense
Starting point is 01:08:23 If they can't run it and no one runs it really on Texas Should be a blowout game Should be a multi-possession win type of game I'll have a unit on I'll have a unit I was just going to ask if we were breaking down this game Would you be this a game you would slap the table for? I would go three or four units on Texas. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:40 I wouldn't quite slap the table because I already did it. True. So it's illegal. Completely fair. That is true. And you're a rule follower. Yep. Can we just add this?
Starting point is 01:08:49 Can we add this game to our slate and just say we're going to take Texas here? Sure. Well, that's dangerous. Can we do that? That is kind of dangerous. We're calling it in the ring. We all just go two units. Texas minus 10 and a half.
Starting point is 01:09:00 We all live and die by the store together. It really doesn't affect the standings at all. So we don't need to add it. It doesn't affect anything. Yeah, but if we win, then it makes our units a little better. And if we lose, we can say the game was never added. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. That's fun.
Starting point is 01:09:15 This is a win-win situation. You go out your community. I'll put it in my community. Yeah, T.O-1 community tab, Fanduel. Check it out. All right. Who are you looking at here? Jack McPherson.
Starting point is 01:09:29 Oh, we got Bama, Tennessee. Alabama at Tennessee. Both teams rock in their coloring uniforms. It's going to be fun. Should have been a long time ago. Fall colors. Fall, full of years. foliage, foliage, in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Starting point is 01:09:40 Very exciting. Alabama is favored at eight and a half right now. Total points in that game is 51.5. Is this a situation that we can kind of just all count to three and say who we're taking and then talk about it? No. Okay. Go ahead, Will. You have the four. Oh, so we can't.
Starting point is 01:10:02 Are you going to take Tennessee because you need to hold the pumpkin if you're going to take Tennessee? I'll hold the pumpkin. There we go. Just because I want to hold the pumpkin. I think we, since that Texas game, we've all kind of understood that this offensive line is the worst kept secret in the SEC, that being Tennessee. We saw what Texas did, and Jack, I'm just going to look at you. We saw what Texas did to this offensive line.
Starting point is 01:10:26 You've lost your left guard for the entire year. They got after Faison's ass, what, 10 different times? They're pissed on them. Is Faison going? It hasn't been announced yet. He practiced yesterday. Either way. He's got to.
Starting point is 01:10:40 Bezon Brandon, he's a work in progress. McIntyre ain't going to get the job done against Alabama. DeBoer is 6 and 0 after Alabama loses at home. 6 and 0. This is a good football. This is a top 10, arguably top 5. We could get a rematch in the SEC championship between Alabama and Georgia. Now, Georgia showed you how you can beat Alabama.
Starting point is 01:11:07 Just do you have those guys? It's win on early downs and it's being able to get after quarterback. Cruz, I told you that last week. It's going to be Keyline Russell and that wide receiver group. Can they get after these first rounders littered in the secondary with Georgia? I don't think that can happen. However, Tennessee, 25 sacks, 12.5% pressure sack rate that is like top three in the country. I do think that they can get after them to where you're kind of keeping.
Starting point is 01:11:36 I don't know, bro. Hey, I just, I don't know. But hey, just you saying that, like you're doing exactly what we're all feeling. Yeah, like, can Tennessee run the ball? Get after Keel and Russell a little bit on our early downs or even keep him on the sideline. Can they keep that offense on the sideline because they can run the ball effectively? Here's where I'm going because it's at Neeland. And I have a lot of respect for the volunteers.
Starting point is 01:12:04 I have a lot of respect for the Alabama Crimson Tide. They look damn good. good. I'm going under on this game, 51 and a half points. And I'm going to go three units on that. That's where I'm going. With the pumpkin. With the pumpkin. Buddy, like, I like the house rush ability of Tennessee. And before the Georgia game, I think they were holding opponents to like in the 70s of rush yards per game. Obviously, Georgia, they went for 200 against them. I just don't think Tennessee has the offensive line to put Bishop in a position to rush for 200 yards.
Starting point is 01:12:45 I think Keelam is as impressive as a first year starting quarterback as we've seen in college football this year. And although his stat line wasn't great in this game and there's a couple of times where he's feeling phantom pressure, he's a damn good quarterback. And I just don't know if Tennessee is going to be able to get that kind of pressure. They can run in a little bit better. Was it Brown had that 58-yard run? Other than that, they kind of rushed, like, in the low hundreds.
Starting point is 01:13:17 But I just think Alabama has more weapons. Ryan Coleman-Williams, he's out. He's not going to be playing this game, but they still have those three tight ends. Pritchett is sneaky. His little double-movie head on that touchdown is impressive. All their tight ends across the board, I'm extremely impressed with. This offensive line is kind of moving a little bit, and they did great against an incredible run defense of Georgia.
Starting point is 01:13:39 Your greatest weapon is that fan base in Neely. Like, that is the reason why Alabama would not cover. Because with the injuries to the quarterback, your backup McIntyre, two interceptions and one on the ground Bumble. Like, that's where... Hey, road win. Roadwin in the SEC's. I know, I know, but Arkansas, Arkansas is sitting there saying,
Starting point is 01:14:02 like, we are going to not go to the game. We're going to do a no-show-out is what they're doing. weeks ago and now they're talking about every single loss we have we're going to storm the field so Arkansas gets a $250,000 fine until they fire I don't know if it's the head coach of the AD or whoever it is like it's just not good in Arkansas right now Arkansas playing man against you guys a bunch and basically said we dare you that fucking tickles coming back in my throat right now finish they're saying we dare you throw the ball against us you guys couldn't throw the ball against them Alabama, they're susceptible in the secondary to explosive plays.
Starting point is 01:14:40 You guys have the horses at Y receiver to get those explosive plays to happen. I just don't believe you have the quarterback to do it because even if Faison does play, he's a wounded animal and not in a good way. I hate it because I will, this is the second time I'm going against Tennessee. And I hate that for you. And I hate that for our friendship. And I hate that. I'm going Alabama and minus eight and a half.
Starting point is 01:15:09 I hate that. Right in front of the pumpkin. In front of the pumpkin. Dang. And it literally, it hurt me so bad that my tickles gone now. So I hate that. Jack's ready for war. I know that.
Starting point is 01:15:25 He knows. Are you going to this game? I won't be at the game. Well, there's 10 units. Like, if you're not going to have Jack McPherson at the game, like you all. You are an incredible fan. You do like to tread on fandom, but you're an incredible fan.
Starting point is 01:15:40 And they need you in Newland this weekend. They got me a ticket. I'll be there. Look, man, run the ball. Limit explosive plays. You do that. You're going to have a shot because you guys have the pattern. You know that.
Starting point is 01:15:53 I'm not telling you anything you don't know. That's what you're looking for. You can't let the explosives beat you, and you just got to be able to run the football. And I hate that that number five kid, punching that Georgia player in the face. essentially putting them in the position to where Georgia can just knee it. And there's been like 10 guys on Alabama's team.
Starting point is 01:16:11 That's like we stand with five, 10 toes down for five. Like this team is like kind of dialed. Josh, give them some, just a knife in the neck. I don't think they're going to be. I don't think if you could keep a close game, I trust you to be able to run the ball. I mean,
Starting point is 01:16:26 I trust Bishop to be able to run for 150 plus against Alabama. The problem is if they get a lead on you and they start stretching the game, you've got to throw to get back in the game. If Bama, and I think this will happen, if Bama ends up putting Tennessee in a position where they've got to trade points, I just don't trust them at quarterback to be able to trade points. They're pretty good at receiver.
Starting point is 01:16:45 Like, I trust Mike Matthews, and wide receiver ones have given Alabama's secondary a little bit of trouble. Red zone numbers here. Bama's 27 of 27 in the red zone. They have scored 23 touchdowns down there. So when they get down there, typically, they've been scoring.
Starting point is 01:17:01 Tennessee's only been in the red zone 18 times. and 14 of those were touched now. So 17 of 18, they just, they got to create more scoring opportunities. You can't count on 20 points winning the game. You can't count on 24 points winning the game. Maybe 24 covers, but I'm not sure it wins. You'll find out a lot about Alabama here. So coming out of the Georgia Bama game, I don't know how you two felt, but I saw a lot of people out there say,
Starting point is 01:17:25 I think Georgia's the best team in the country. Hey, man, I think Alabama may be right there with them, second, third, best team in the country. So I don't doubt that about Georgia. I still think you kind of got to find that out about Alabama. Like you're not going to get run on for over 200 yards by a third string tailback, albeit a really good one. You're not going to get sliced like that on third down at home and have me say, oh yeah, man, you're the slam dunk number two team in the country.
Starting point is 01:17:46 There's still a little bit to prove to me from Alabama. You got a quarterback that is insanely talented, but he's been sacked second most times of any quarterback in the SEC. You're probably without your starting center this week against Xavier Gilliam, who, I mean, I heard Kublick talking the other day about all the love Colin Simmons gets and whatnot. Gilliam's probably the best defensive player in the SEC right now. So, like, there are a lot of reasons you can lean Tennessee. I didn't even mention home field.
Starting point is 01:18:11 I didn't even mention what's happened the last two times this game's happened in that building. That's all the more reason to be razor-focused and make sure you grab a lead, make sure they have to trade points. Because eventually if Tennessee has to trade points, they're going to turn the ball over. So I think I'll take Alabama minus eight and a half. Two units. Not a massive confidence game. Yeah, I think they'll win in cover.
Starting point is 01:18:31 Two units. God, I hated that. Yeah. I hate that. I was so ready to take that pumpkin if I was going to take Tennessee. And shut out, Gilliam. What a player, man. Dude, yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:44 Even that Texas game, like, that was the dude showing up play after play in the backfield. Gravely game of the week. As, like, a Puerto Rican girl from New York who didn't finish college who was like, I was like, holy crap, like, I'm finally doing something. Like, maybe this is all working out. Listen to Front Page from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Ohio State, Indiana, Ohio State's favorite minus three and a half. Total points that game is 50 and a half right now. Where I kind of sit is like, Indiana is kind of,
Starting point is 01:23:58 have they earned the right for us to just kind of like bet on them until they prove us wrong? or did Nebraska show a lot of holes that Indiana has? Because up until that game, Turbo Richards, like he was rushing for 143 yards a game. You guys held them to what? 40 yards, less than that? I completely took away their run game. You've already talked about the explosives.
Starting point is 01:24:22 Matt Patricia, you have to assume, is probably not going to have you guys giving up explosives, especially a quick RPO slant to Nick Marsh or a fourth and one that, I don't like, no distinction, I don't know what Nebraska was doing in that situation. Like, does Ohio State do that? No. I'll go and tell you, no.
Starting point is 01:24:41 Right. A lot of it, too, is predicated on, like, it's like Hoover making those right decisions. Like, defensively, you have to be so uniform that's so focused on what your job is that play to where you don't, like, Becker and Marsh, like they are unreal at receiver. Hoover hasn't turned the ball over.
Starting point is 01:24:59 I've said he's a turnover wait and a half. And I felt like even some of the balls he was throwing that windy Nebraska game. Like it was going to come up for us. It didn't. I think Ohio State is going to be able to stop the run here, kind of do the same thing. But again, it comes down to are the guys on the outside? Do they have, you know, what is the plan when you got when you got those guys on the edge? Because I feel like those receivers are still going to find a way to get theirs.
Starting point is 01:25:23 And I feel like Hoover, he's played well enough to where he's going to make those right reads when they come up. Ohio State, it's, does Indiana, I'm assuming that they're going to have a plan for Jeremiah Smith, but every team has had a plan to stop Jeremiah Smith. Just nobody has been able to do it. I do think Indiana secondary is a little pedestrian to where it's like, how are you going to, between the run game, because Arthur Smith loves to just jam it down your throat over and over. And then you're just going to have Jeremiah Smith downfield up top. It's if this becomes a fourth quarter game, who do you trust?
Starting point is 01:25:58 more in the fourth quarter. We saw what Indiana did last week against Nebraska. We saw what Ohio State did in week, whatever that was, week two or three against Texas. I would trust Indiana more if this becomes a fourth quarter game. I mean, I don't, I don't know. I don't know. This is one of those games. Because I'm in, I'm in Huskerland. Right. You know what I mean? Like to me, it's all about the response Nebraska has going out to Oregon. If Nebraska is that tough of a football team or if it was just a spot where Indiana subtly overlooked the Huskers going into Lincoln. Yeah. Towards like, okay, where that, because if it's what we witnessed on Saturday, I love Ohio State. But if it's one of those spots where Indiana, like Signetti was saying
Starting point is 01:26:45 in the post game presser, like it just took, it took everybody. It still hasn't hit him that they won that game. It took scratch and claw. It has a lot of good value because they got out of there with a win off of four explosive plays. To where now they're just there, they come alive. and they're Indiana. I have no clue. I'm going to go two units. I'm just going to take Ohio State to cover three and a half. But, yeah, if this is a fourth quarter game,
Starting point is 01:27:08 you're going to have to feel good if you're an Indiana fan. Because I would like Indiana a lot more in that spot. The thing that is interesting, but the games that Indiana clearly struggled, Northwestern and Nebraska, both those quarterbacks were very mobile quarterbacks, able to run around and extend plays with their legs. Like, Dulean's saying is.
Starting point is 01:27:28 not that cat. And I love to think like at some point there's going to be a plan for Jeremiah Smith to at least not, you know, you'll never stop him, but contain him in a certain sense. Because David McEwen, he's the next guy in receptions and yards, but it's like, I think, I don't know how many yards. 245. He's got 245 and 17 receptions, but I'm thinking about Jeremiah Smith. He's got, what, 44 receptions and over 800? So there's a huge drop-off. So if I'm just blindly, looking at stats. And I'm like, okay, I think I can stop one player. But on Indiana side, they got Becker and Mars where it's like, that's more difficult
Starting point is 01:28:06 to game playing against because you have two guys that can take the top off, two guys that run really good routes and a quarterback that's taking care of football at home. So with saying being more of a statue in the back field, love Arthur Smith's run game. We were in the group chat with him, what the plays they've been running and how they've been doing it. To me, that is the perfect style of run you should have because you get people going east West, then you hit him down the middle with duo and tight zone. I could definitely see Ohio State walking away with this W.
Starting point is 01:28:36 I'm going to take Indiana with the points at home in Signetti. I'm kind of in this process now where Indiana's won so much and done it in so many different ways that I have to give them the benefit of the doubt to this point. And if I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but he's kind of like earned it, in my opinion. Like was it 22 games in a row they've won? Yep. So for me, it's, I'll take the points plus three and a half, Indiana at home. I put three units on it because three is my new one this week.
Starting point is 01:29:07 That's how I feel. Question for the group or for anyone watching. Why do people think Indiana has to limit Jeremiah Smith? Why do they think limiting or shutting down Jeremiah Smith is some prerequisite to Indiana winning this game? I don't understand your question fully. Well, Big Ten championship game last year. Because Jeremiah Smith, yeah, Jeremy Smith last year was still bowling. Dude went eight catches for 144.
Starting point is 01:29:34 Ohio State scored 10 points. So what if I just don't even worry about that? Yeah, you can't let him go off for 250 and four scores. That's a different thing. But I don't even waste time saying, man, what are they going to do about Jeremiah Smith? What they're going to do is fight hard to contain him. He's going to get his anyway because he'll get it against anyone. And then you've got to figure out how to win the game.
Starting point is 01:29:55 anyway. And the way you figure out how to win the game is, number one, you got to have a lot more rushing success than you did against Nebraska. Like Indiana has the number 19 rushing outfit right now. But you watched them last week. Like, that was very, very tough sledding. This Ohio State defensive front, the thing about Ohio State, which I think is the best team in the country right now from a power ratings perspective, they've got an elite wide receiver. Offensive line, would you call that group elite? So they're good. There's a lot of guys. There's a lot of There's a lot of really good. They're a great outfit.
Starting point is 01:30:27 There's a lot of really good. Yeah. Defensive front, a lot of really good. Pass rush. Kenyatta Jackson's been pretty good. But like, there's not look at that elite unit. So you just got to get it done against them. Also, I think we may be undervaluing what home field is going to be for Indiana here.
Starting point is 01:30:43 Everyone's talking about it with Brigham Young. This is the biggest game in the history of this place. So think about how on fire it's going to be. Not that Ohio State hasn't had to go into places like that before. They just went into Iowa a couple of weeks ago. and slammed the door on them. And I'm sure that place was pretty lively. But the first thing is you've got to be able to run the ball.
Starting point is 01:31:00 And number two, with those receivers, like it was very misleading. Hoover's stat line was very misleading last week because there were a couple of ex-plays that really fattened up his total passing yardage. I think they just got to put more on his plate and trust him. Like he was turnover prone at TCU and he hasn't turned the ball over yet. And everyone keeps waiting on it. But Indiana does not strike me as the kind of outfit that coach is scared or that like game plans from a like a trepidious standpoint. You got the players. You got to trust them to make
Starting point is 01:31:30 plays. Now, if you're going to hold Ohio State to 10, forget about what I just said. You could scratch out 13 points again. I just don't think you can count on that. But at the same time, Julian is saying not mobile, not nearly the mobile threat that Northwestern was or the Calandria was at Nebraska. I'm just not picking against them until they lose. So I'll take Nebraska or I'll take a, yes, sir. I did and I won. I'll take Indiana plus three and a half for three units. Okay. Three units. Feel better about my vet now.
Starting point is 01:31:56 Because this is one other one. Really, Alabama, Tennessee was the only one. I was like, I feel really that in BYU and Notre Dame until you went to the under. That I felt really good to help me. Yeah. It is gonna be interesting, man. How do they get more people involved in the passing game?
Starting point is 01:32:12 Because yeah, 180, like 180 is limiting Jeremiah Smith, which is nuts. Here's what I wonder. You went watch back the whole Nebraska Indiana game, right? Okay, how much meat was left on the bus? from a passing perspective for Indiana? Or did they pretty well get clamped down on? There were a few.
Starting point is 01:32:33 I thought you were going to ask how much more meat was on the bone for Nebraska's passing offense because there was a lot of meat left on the bone. Let's talk about it. For Nebraska's passing offense. They're so predicated on running the ball in the RPO scheme. For the most part, it's like you look at Andrew Marshall
Starting point is 01:32:48 on the other side. Like there was one that Hoover missed. So to your point, they could have had another explosive that would have went for 99 to Marsh that Hoover just missed and overthrew because he had 22 and a blender on the double move. So a little bit, but it's so much off of the RPO versus, to your point, like trusting him, dropping back and throwing.
Starting point is 01:33:11 I just feel like Indiana's identity is being able to run the football and then taking advantage of matchups. Once you know you're running the ball successfully, they're stacking the box the right way, and you just catch a corner or somebody just sitting on their heels. to where you have the back shoulder, you have all the things, the go ball, the slay, everything, everything in between, that that's what they're predicated on.
Starting point is 01:33:31 So there is meat on the bone? Yeah, there's one explosive that I'm thinking about that Hoover overthrew that would have went for seven. That's coming to top of mind. I'm sure that there might be a couple others, but for the most part, like Nebraska defensively played their ass off.
Starting point is 01:33:44 You just remember this Ohio State team last couple of years against Indiana, against Miami. Like, there have been a couple of instances where teams, have just taken it to them physically. And they didn't answer the bell. And like they pride themselves on being able to do that.
Starting point is 01:34:00 I know. But this is one where you got to take it to him physically. You got you got all those defensive guys back. Stephen Daly, for example, is back. Like that's such a huge deal. The moment you see the headline, Stephen Daly is eligible to play again this year for Indiana. You think about games like this.
Starting point is 01:34:15 And you think about his ability to take over and like wreck from the interior. And you don't have a cat that can just spill out and gain 15 yards in a first down. like some of the other quarterbacks that they face so far that Indiana's face or that, yeah, that Indiana's face. So I'm going to take them plus the points. Three units. Yep, three units. You'll go game. All right. Super Slate. Super Slate bonus games. Who would like to go first?
Starting point is 01:34:41 Super Slate bonus. I'm going to, I'll talk about Oklahoma State Houston. Here's what I want to say off the top. Connor Wegman, good ball player. Great ball player. I had some things to say about the West. last week. Good ball player. 21 combined TDs. That's second the FBS. He's the only quarterback
Starting point is 01:34:59 with 15 passing touchdowns and five rushing touchdowns. Good ball player. Second hottest quarterback in the Big 12. The hottest quarterback in the Big 12th is Drew Master Maker. He's had, what, over 300 yards and two touchdowns the last three games?
Starting point is 01:35:13 This offense is averaging over 500 in totality over their last four. This is a great game. If this was in Stillwater, part of me believes that Bustin paid on campus. as might be in Stillwater. Because this is a sneaky game of the week right here. I'm taking Oki State plus four and a half against Houston.
Starting point is 01:35:32 Wouldn't be surprised if Houston wins by a field goal. But I'm taking Oaky State with the points. I love Master Maker. I love that offense. I think they keep it rolling on Houston. It's all about third down. Like Connor Wegman, they're the number one team in the country on third down conversion rate.
Starting point is 01:35:47 If Oki State just gets a couple stops or they get them to turn the ball over, This will be Oakey State because Drew Mr. Mestermaker is that dude. That offense is nice. So it's all going to be predicated on third down this game. Fan duel, by the way, available in Texas. Yeah. In Florida. In Georgia.
Starting point is 01:36:07 So if you're at home watching, you're in Texas, Florida, and Georgia, you just know that Fan Duel is now available. Get it on the action. Pick against us against the spread. That's free. And you can get yourself a profit boost token if you beat one of us. Yeah, which has shown it's not that difficult to do. Yeah. Usually if you get that six out of ten, Mark, you're getting a profit.
Starting point is 01:36:23 Yeah. And while you're at it, if you're watching, make sure you are subscribed to the channel as you're watching. I'm gonna quickly go over. I got two super slates. I'm gonna quickly go over in both. All right, Mississippi State at LSU. LSU's having the worst starts in 2020.
Starting point is 01:36:36 A lot of people are off the kiffin train right now. This is a must-win situation for LSU, for Blake Baker and that defense. If Camaro Taylor plays, I like Mississippi State covering these points because with as much as LSU Blitz is there's a lot of holes in that zone defense. I don't believe that Camaro Taylor is going to play.
Starting point is 01:36:56 And for that reason, this is a massive get right spot for LSU. Love the storyline of Mississippi State so far. However, a lot of that revolves around Camaro Taylor. All of it technically revolves around Camaro Taylor. Without him, I like LSU, don't care what time of the game is that LSU. If they don't got Camaro Taylor, like it's a wrap. It's going to be a bloodbath. Shut it down.
Starting point is 01:37:15 That game is probably going to be without Camario Taylor. I think LSU will run away with it. That's not why I pointed at you. I can't wait to hear it. hear what you say about the other game that you have on the tip of your tongue. Because you said you have two. Yeah, you're talking about the number one logo game of the week, Penn State and Michigan. Yep.
Starting point is 01:37:32 Do we have a network for that one yet? Yeah, I think the food channel picked it up. I think the food channel picked this game up. This game is a game that this is where Bustin and Payton on campus should have should be over this way. I mean, this should be two teams early in the year being like, winner of this game, puts themselves in the college football playoff, regardless of what happens after this.
Starting point is 01:37:54 Obviously, just in the corner, he's sad boy over there. I'm sad boy from Michigan. Just lost to Minnesota and it has a bi-week and then we have text messages leaking everywhere. You'd almost be in a good spot knowing that Michigan's on a bi-week, but then you got to go from getting whooped by Minnesota, the whole blood thing, sprinting in, diving on his team to then watch Minnesota go out
Starting point is 01:38:15 and get their shit pushed in by a team like the Purdue Boilermakers. Just thrown in a wood chipper. Yeah, like maybe Minnesota is good. Nope, you just got killed by Purdue. Yeah, that, I really appreciate you bringing that up and resurfacing. It's almost like when Minnesota beat the shit out of Nebraska, and you think, oh shit, Minnesota's really good, and then they get their shit pushed in the week after that.
Starting point is 01:38:36 That's why I like Michigan minus 6.5, wounded animals. Dumbled animal. Double wounded animals. What is going to have from Campbell? I don't know. We got totals in this game. I don't know who's circling it right now, but 42 and a half.
Starting point is 01:38:50 with it. All right. To hell with the totals in this game. At some point, dude, we have to figure out who Bryce Underwood is. I had a thing about Into the Fray, Oklahoma. They win that game. I'm like, oh my God, we've learned everything we need to learn about Michigan. Turns out, you always got to keep learning no matter what, okay? And what I've learned is, lost against Iowa, I absolutely love this team, almost 500 yards of offense. Lost against Minnesota, I got a gun in my mouth. So there's two different, the tail of two cities taking place with Lawan. They go into the, they go into the by week. Whittingham goes, we're not meeting our standard. We're not handling business the way there's a lot that has to change. We have to get a lot done. A whole week of practice goes by.
Starting point is 01:39:32 It's quiet in Ann Arbor. No one said a whole lot of words. Monday coming up. Kyle Whittingham steps on the podium and they go, coach, you broke it down. What changes? That rhino position you guys are running a lot with the extra office alignment might hurt you in the past game a little bit. You're going to change that? We're not going to change that. No. Ah, no doubt. But Tommy Carr, he's come in.
Starting point is 01:39:53 Every time he's had a couple of snaps, he looks pretty nice, right? That deep ball he had to that freshman wide receiver, Celeste Moa. Maybe get him some more snaps, huh? We're going to roll with Bryce Underwood actually is what we're doing. Ah, yes. But Beck, his play calling has been phenomenal. They're going a little too much east to west. We're going to change it up a little bit and go downhill, right?
Starting point is 01:40:14 No. We got it right where they want them. The only thing that matters is the turnovers and the penalties. That's the only thing that matters. Who cares if we're not efficient in the run game? But I believe in the maze and blue. I believe in the wing helmet. I hate the fact that this is six and a half.
Starting point is 01:40:30 I love the logos in this game, huh? I love the logos in this game. Michigan's going to run it down their throat, dude, in our Newark, Michigan. Bryce Underwin, I'm talking about three TVs. All of a sudden, he's going to be able to dissect the defense. It's out there. It's out there for the take it.
Starting point is 01:40:46 All of a sudden, someone's got to click for a young lad eventually, right? Maybe somebody's been in his headset too much saying, you have to go to this guy right away or that guy right away, and he doesn't even break down the defense. We're going Michigan. One unit, minus six and a half. By the way, I'm doing the one unit on LSU as well, plus 14F. So I guess I have multiple games this week.
Starting point is 01:41:07 But do I feel good about it? No. But something's got to give eventually, you know? Yeah. Something's got to give. What do you have got to be the guy? because I just talked about Dan Lany and what I would do
Starting point is 01:41:22 if he was in the bus, if he was Michigan, what I would do to our bus. I want that feeling about Kyle Whittingham. What is your computer said? You've seen Independence Day, the movie? Yeah, yeah, I see it. You know when the aliens have already invaded and the U.S. government is trying to figure out a way
Starting point is 01:41:40 to destroy the aliens and they just, they go to the last resort. They break glass, press this button in case of last resort, and they press it. And they launch nuclear. weapons against the spaceship. The nuclear weapons go off. There's chaos and carnage and smoke and everyone's celebrating and someone's over in the
Starting point is 01:41:59 corner saying, can we get confirmation? Target has been destroyed. And then the smoke clears. And it's like, Target remains. I feel like that's Michigan. I feel like you're trying to make the changes. You're hoping for Bryce Underwood to turn the corner. You'll win the game.
Starting point is 01:42:15 You'll win the game. Before I finish this statement. Okay, good. Big God because you were looking to me in a very, very vulnerable stay right now. I feel like a little boy. I'm going to get you some presents for Christmas. Yeah. There'll be something under the tree. It's just not going to be a good quarterback. What if he's just not good? What if he's just not good? What if he's going to keep. Look, statement you made, we keep waiting to figure out who Bryce Underwood is. What if we know? What if he's just not good? We don't know yet. Whitting him in that interview too where he's like, oh, you look at Beck, his history, his track record, like, he's good.
Starting point is 01:42:53 He's a good OC. Like, there's a lot of reads that we got to make correctly. It's not our fault. It's not us. The quarterback in there, he makes the right read. This is a damn good office. This kid. And like legitimately like Beck's been good for the last two years with Devin Dampierre.
Starting point is 01:43:09 Yes, correct. And that's kind of, that's his track record. I'm not here to soil my team. All right. No. We don't know if Bryce Underwood's good or not yet. You don't know if he's good or not yet. We do not know yet, dude.
Starting point is 01:43:21 Who else? Why don't you go un-un it on the money line? No, I have a parlay that's coming up and you'll see an unit on the money line. Okay, all right. All right. But there's the world. You're going to win the game. Buddy, we lost in Minnesota.
Starting point is 01:43:33 Yes, Penn State. For the first time since the 70s. This Penn State team. At Minnesota. I mean, that wasn't good. I was at Michigan. The dark years where Michigan fans don't even want to acknowledge the fact from 09 to 3, They don't want to be they they, anytime you say Rich Rodriguez's name, people hiss and they're
Starting point is 01:43:51 running the corner and get the shadows. We beat Minnesota. And there was never a roster this good on my team. It was just, hey, hopefully Dinar does well today. So anyway, they want to bring it down. I think Arizona State is going to push Texas Tech. Wow. Yeah, they're getting too many points.
Starting point is 01:44:11 14 and a half. Arizona State, that's too many points. You know, Jennifer Wire watches the show. I know. I'm doing it for him. So hold on a second. You're kind of anti-Texas Tech. Three, two, one, so we can get a clean cut.
Starting point is 01:44:24 No way Texas Tech deserves to be laying this many points against the team. All right, send it off to him. Okay, yeah, I just think Arizona State could be a little sneaky here. Yeah, Cady Dilleyer, man. You said it, you think Arizona State's going to push Texas Tech? Push them and make this a game in the fourth quarter. But Texas Tech wins? Yeah, I'd lean Texas Tech to win.
Starting point is 01:44:46 It is two and a half, two touchdowns. Lean is crazy. Lean. Lean. All right. I just wouldn't be, are you telling me you'd be surprised if Arizona State was hanging with them? Lesser teams have hung with them this year. I love Joey McGuire, but I also love Kenny Dillingham.
Starting point is 01:45:02 I'm excited for a really good game. This is where the tailgate tour will be this weekend. Friendship Bowl. We'll be out there. Friendship Bowl. This is where I'm essentially the mom with two different jerseys. House to buy. Rooting for both your guys.
Starting point is 01:45:13 I'm going for both of my guys. I can sell the first one and I praise the next one. And that is always the pattern you should go in. Love getting billion. I mean, he did get double nickel hung on him a couple of weekends ago. Who was that to score 55 on Arizona State? And it was at home, too. Doesn't matter.
Starting point is 01:45:31 Kenny Young's an offensive-minded head coach. He's an offensive-minded head coach. Dogs in the Week, you buy it for Oklahoma State. I like Oklahoma State plus four and a half. That's my dog in the week. Drew Mastermaker, dude. Josh Allen 2.0. Give me Wisconsin Outright.
Starting point is 01:45:49 We're a couple weeks away. No doubt. We're a couple weeks away from saying Drew Mastermaker is the next Josh Allen. If you can pull it off. Difference being when Josh Allen was in college, not many people even talked about him because no one was watching Wyoming games.
Starting point is 01:46:03 People are watching Oklahoma State. This game or Ole Miss Missouri will be a five-challi classic. Maybe both. But at least one of those will be. Has to be. I'll take Wisconsin Outright against UCLA. UCLA without Needs.
Starting point is 01:46:16 You get seven turnovers against Oregon. You only win by two points. I think they're a little overrated right now. By the way, I say that. UCLA is they put together. I mean, they're undefeated in the big ten. Bob Chesney is that, he's that dude. They can run the ball well.
Starting point is 01:46:32 I just, I like Wisconsin here. I like Wisconsin went out right at UCLA. Did you see his tunnel speech? Tunnel speech. Oh, yeah. It was very underrated. Tunnel speeches. Because you can hear the fans.
Starting point is 01:46:44 You can kind of hear the Coliseum. Yeah. Let me finish the story and you kind of can't hear it all, but it turns out being the burden of boat story. And then it turns around and immediately takes his glasses and puts him on. I'm like, oh, fuck. I wish somebody would have showed me this before the game started. If I would have known that, I probably still would have gone to Oregon and got my ass beat.
Starting point is 01:47:02 I would have been like, oh, my shit, that's badass, man. Do you think after he did that he turned around to that camera kid and said, did you get that? Yeah. Okay, let's go. He was ready to do it again if they didn't get it. Yeah, exactly. Hey, everyone back up a quick. That may be take three.
Starting point is 01:47:14 That echo in the tunnel. Or you gotta ask around, did somebody happen to record that on the side, their fingers a little over it? Like, leak that one. Yeah. Wait, you say that like some of these locker room leaks aren't authentic leaks. Leak that one. Dude, hey, that Kirby's smart one. Holy shit. Pre and post.
Starting point is 01:47:30 Really convenient. Yeah, we got to make sure we, you know. Yeah. And I love, we talked about this on Monday, but I love when something gets leaked like that. And then I, every time I see a leaked video like that, I immediately will go to the post game. press conference and I want to see just the difference and it started off be like first off Alabama great ball club there all right well coached team ballast and he starts praising Alabama I don't even know my record against them yeah I don't even know I'm thinking about have I ever played
Starting point is 01:47:58 I think about how much I love my family yeah I don't care at all and it's like I hate these motherfuckers it's a him or me game no leaks after losses you notice interesting only leaks after win anyway I don't want to I don't want to call anything into question I don't know why but the model says Syracuse plus 14 and a half is a dog that I need to be on. Again, I want to emphasize. I cannot emphasize this loudly enough. I don't know why. And I'm not diving into this game a whole lot, but I'm taking Syracuse.
Starting point is 01:48:23 Your pick, by the way, was the first one I bet this week. Wisconsin outright. I bumped that because let's get the parleyes. I got a spicy one. We hit the parlays last week, Josh Bates. Sure did. Join the party. Buddy.
Starting point is 01:48:40 It's fun. I'd love to. San Jose State, like. That's crazy. I was swinging, swinging clean. And all of a sudden, San Jose State decided to ruin that for me.
Starting point is 01:48:53 Will accomplishes trick in his phone? That means I'll go right now. All right. LSU, all spread, minus nine and a half. ASU, Texas Tech, all over 48. And a half. Michigan Money Line. Okay.
Starting point is 01:49:05 Oregon State, Washington State, all over 48 and a half. And finally, Wisconsin Money Line. Plus 1349. Oh, that's a moon. Josh, there might be a subtle change I want to make here. All right. I'm going to go Kentucky Money Line.
Starting point is 01:49:24 Wisconsin Money Line. I mean, I want to say it, but I want it to be heard. Yeah. Can you just start your parlay over? Kentucky Money Line. Wisconsin Money Line. Nebraska Cornhuskers Money Line. End of parlay.
Starting point is 01:49:46 You guys are anti-Dadellating, guys. No, you know, I'm just... I took Pate's bet the minute I saw it. Dill Rail is the quarterback this weekend. If he is, I have no clue. This one is going to be personal for them boys that white we're at. It's going to be personal for the quarterback of Oregon, too. Guys, just a quick reminder, the college football,
Starting point is 01:50:06 the Fandals College Football Pickham, where you can pick 10 games against the spread for free. And all you have to do is clip one of us myself, Josh Pate, or Terle Luan. You do that. Say we go five for 10, you go six for 10. You're going to earn yourself a profit boost token. If you go 10 for 10, you're going to share in a half a million dollar jackpot, $500,000,
Starting point is 01:50:26 split amongst you and whoever else goes 10 for 10 against the spread. That is free. Zero wager. Last week, 181 winners, 181 jackpot winners, took home about 2,700 and Fandul bonus bets. Visit fandle.com slash busting. Again, it is for free. It is for you. Just wanted to remind you guys.
Starting point is 01:50:44 We're going to wrap this episode real quick. See that one right there? That's Lucia Spritz. That's my favorite. They got that bite and burst, that hit a flavor right away. I use it for a little energy boost when I did it most. Pre-workout, post-workout, doesn't matter. When Lucy's on my mind, I put it in my lip, and it's absolutely delicious. Here's the thing I love about Lucy. American-made, family-owned. They're not something to big tobacco company just playing dress-up, and that's what really matters to me. Now, let's get some fine print right here. Lucy.co, code locker room for 20% off your first order. Lucy products are for adults of legal age. Every customer's age very. verified warning this product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical. Let's get back to the episode. Hey, we're back.
Starting point is 01:51:24 Technical difficulties. We'll have to figure out as parlay. That's a parlay right here. All right. I made a change. All right. Wisconsin money line. Yep.
Starting point is 01:51:38 Oklahoma money line. Yep. Michigan money line. North Carolina money line. Notre Dame Old Spread minus six and a half. Nebraska plus. a seven and a half plus 2596 the only reason yeah what was it you know how it gets like like last week your boy like you know the spot you're in you got to go money have to the more the more
Starting point is 01:52:07 responsible one is taking the points you got to me if i take nebraska money line which i'll have that just individually but if i add that to the parlay there's just uh there's a there's a i don't know there's a mechanism in my head that's like well i just killed us i just killed this i just killed this i don't know yeah yeah That's called main character syndrome. Yeah, I got it. I got it. I mean, Clayton, you're pointed out.
Starting point is 01:52:29 Hey, was that not the coolest? Was that not the coolest? Yeah, yeah, it was awesome. Were you still there for that? That was when I had exited. After that? No, as that was happening. Josh did say at half time, I say at some point, I'm going to leave.
Starting point is 01:52:46 And I told him, like, do not tell us your leave. Don't even, don't say goodbye, just go. Yeah. You want to know when we were walking out, Prez said, one of the saddest things ever just happened we were like getting in the car we can still hear the crowd i said what happened so we were all walking out of a tunnel together and i let him know hey we're about to go our separate ways don't let him know he's too in the zone but apparently you
Starting point is 01:53:06 saw us go down a separate walkway and prez said you were saying no jock this way no just come back in here come back in here and then he said you realized that that was us leaving and you just like Oh, no. Oh, no. That's crazy, is this the first time we're hearing that story? I felt so bad. We got hurt so bad. He's like, I'm going to keep this to myself.
Starting point is 01:53:27 Because we were obviously getting some food at halftime and watching the game for most of the third quarter. And I was like, oh, no, no, no, we have to be out there for the fourth quarter. Like this is, and we're going out there and I see Josh going and you're like, you think we can get in the gates here? I think I was like, oh, you just got to go around. I'm like, yeah, yeah, right here, right behind it. And as we're walking, Josh sitting there. and Josh sitting there. Josh's already got the wall going down.
Starting point is 01:53:50 And I'm like, oh, I think he just missed that we can get in, get back in right here. And I was like, Josh, we can get him right here. And he's like, oh, no, we're going down this way. And then either clump or somebody came up to me and goes, oh, Josh was leaving. And I was like, oh, damn. Fourth quarter, like.
Starting point is 01:54:05 Third quarter. Yeah, it was that toward the end of the third. Yeah, right before those claims here were. Like right at the end of the third. Here's what was funny. When we were in that room for like part of the third quarter, at one point, the K- feed goes out yeah and we all look at each other like what we're you how we
Starting point is 01:54:21 gonna know how the game ends not even realizing we could just walk right back out on the field right now right we're a little a hundred steps away from being live in the game the agency was they were on like their own one yard line yeah they just overthrew Marsh I believe and then it was like I'm thinking I mean could we get a safety and we could it we had we had we had a buddy down there in the end zone just miss a tackle I kind of want to this week this will be in my community but I'm gonna take all of our parlayes and put them together to what. Oh wow. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:54:49 I think it'll be a fun little. Maybe the magic's in the air. Maybe the magic's in the air. But which one are you going to go? So I'm going to think. I would take, I would take, I would lean the money lines over the spreads. Just make it as juicy as possible. So I will be taking Nebraska money line. The financial freedom parlay. Yeah. And there it is.
