It's kind of what we need to, is that okay?

Can I tell you something? Tell me whatever you want. I'm not even worried about you with this Spooktober. Like there's no like micros, like when I've thought about Spooktober. I haven't thought about it hasn't been like a microscope on Taylor-Lwan. So yeah, I guess you'll have the grace. But I'm not even worried about it from the standpoint of I know you're ready to knock this out of the party. I appreciate that.

Spook-tover 1 is Thursday. Yeah, but if I decorate and then there's a fumigation. process. I don't know how that stuff works. Do we never heard of fumigation? I mean, no bad ideas in a brainstorm. Fumigation sounds like a good opportunity for a haunted house here. It does sound like a good opportunity. It's honestly probably a great start.

But now that it's actually happened, it's like, wow, what have missed off by me. And I think the Giants made the best move. I don't know long term with Jackson Dart and JJ McCarthy because Jay J.G. McCarthy, I expect him to play very, very well because he's coming home with the school of Kevin O'Connell. And he's officially has the title of bust on his hands. Yeah. So it's like you bring him over. Harball, culture.

Fresh Star. It'll be very interesting to see what goes down over there. Yeah, because you can't have, you can't have James Winston and Scataboo running into each other. Titans didn't have a first down until I think a minute and 52 seconds left in the first half. We didn't have one first down. Our O-Lines actually playing decent. I think there was three pressures total, zero sacks. We should have to talk about the bad.

I know. We'll lose a lot of NFL audience right now. We just continue to hammer the titles. We're going to button this up into 90 seconds on the Titans. We're going to start the timer right now. I love for one to be on the screen and go.

Cam Ward makes a horrible decision throwing a pick. It's first down. We have two timeouts left. We're in the red zone and he throws it directly through the secondary. You can truly do anything in that situation and come out better than the outcome of the game. He could have ran it out of bounds. He could have slid and taken a loss for yards. And it's just bad.

We're getting to this point now where the Titans fandom is asking is Cam Ward the guy we thought he was? And majority are saying no. I'm not ready to have the conversation yet, but I am. so fucking close, man. You're really close. I'm so close. That interception was kind of a little bit of a bow where it's like, is he, is he not?

That's where a lot of people who are sitting on the fence kind of turn to her. He is not the guy. And you have that one. Because you have multiple timeouts as well. We have two. We have two timeouts. And I mean, it's like the urgency play.

Everyone saw that one where he's just standing back there, like a civilian. Yeah. Which looks really cool if it's a 40-yard bomb. Like, oh, my God. When he's at Miami doing it, it looks cool because they're up like 50 to nothing. Exactly.

Exactly. And you see it with a day bowl. He's up in the, he's up in the box. Oh, slam in the press box. 30 seconds. It's just tough, dude. It's tough to see like the defense. It looks like they played well, but like, okay, did they play well?

Or was that because of the weather because it was such a sloppy game. So everyone's being very conservative with their play calling. The whole Northeast was kind of in a blender with the clouds and the rain. So overall, dude. Tough. Bad. We did say we're going to look at this team, how competitive they are in the fourth quarter. And the reality is, is they were.

in both games the last two weeks. Yeah, like Salah said, we're two plays away from being two and one. And that's all the time we have. Time. Time. Two plays away from me. You know who's two and one. The entire AFC North.

Then you see Alcoa sideline, and they got guys on their side there. Yeah. But just an absolute Friday night lights. We're, again, hanging over the fence. We're hanging with the boys.

We're having fun. After the game, coach Nick's right here, Brian Nix, him and the O.C. are running out. Jack's like, hey, Will, a couple of people back there are yelling your name. It's Coach Nix. Like this dude right here, he's on his fifth season at Alcoa. He's won four in a row. He's going for his fifth consecutive. He was part of the staff of Florida where they've won 11 consecutive titles. They're going for their 12th right now. Their 11 streak right now is the most, it's the longest streak in the United States in high school football. Like this is the squad. This is the squad. And these boys are fired up. They're like, man, thank you guys for

coming to the game and I'm like, coach, can I get a photo with you guys? They were generous enough to give me one, but he's talking. He's like, yeah. I was like, yo, you've won like 20 state titles in the 2000s. He's like, yeah, I'll tell you what, they wouldn't be talking about De LaSalle if we got those 10 points back in, I don't know, 2013 maybe. And he's talking about these 10 points and the OC's like, oh, we've been chasing them 10 points. I'm like, you guys won 11 straight and you guys are worried about 10 points back in 2013.

and coach nick's like you with the kids man you know it's the details like it's a small details like yes sir can we get a photo yeah yes sir can we get a photo they were so fired up to me will they were pumped well they were pumped while will's there me and the boys were in the back of your truck kind of waiting because we decided night's not over yet like now that we've watched some Friday night lights let's go be the dads go post up somewhere go celebrate this win go celebrate the win a little bit so we find the nearest gas and go plug that and will drops me off at my truck. I get a bunch of boys putting my truck. He's got a bunch of boys in his truck. We drive off. Go to a gas and go. It's one of those like little kiosk gas stations where there's

like one little guy in there. You can get like cigarettes and chew or whatever. But right next to it is a food city. So we pull off in the food city parking lot. Yeah, let's go hang out just talk. Yeah. Talk some ball. Talk about this wind by Alcoa. Yeah. We go in there, grab some snacks and it's kind of winding down a little bit. Matt's over in the corner doing God knows what. Like we had a lot. Me, Shane and Will, are sitting there. And what did Shane say about Matt? He's like, yeah, what's this guy's deal? Yeah, he's like, hey, your boy's doing too much.

And I'm like, oh, he's a good kid. He means well. And once I say that, it's like this, right in between the two trucks, Matt is just standing there. And he's yelling something. Arms up to the air. Like, oh, yeah. They don't know about me, man.

And we're like, oh, shit. Yeah, he does that laugh. And we'll just go, God, damn it. He's a good boy. Because you're trying to defend Matt. I tell you, no, no, no, Shane. He's a good kid. Matt flew too.

Yeah, Shane and I are sitting there and we're going through old. Because you come too and then we're looking at your, uh, Arizona high school rankings. Yeah. Shane and I are just on rivals because I'm learning that Shane had a badass high school football team. LaShawn McCoy was the running back. Crazy. He's naming, do what? Can I?

Can I? Hey, hey, hey. Can I tell you something? I'm watching Shane tell you guys about Pennsylvania football and his high school he went to. And he's like saying all the players, you're like, yo, that's great. And you go to tell somebody.

And Shane walked over me and goes, I never went to that high school. I was just saying that together. And I forgot about that until right now. But you like, what am I supposed to think? Exactly. No, I'm with you. Like, you got got in a way that's like,

I'm like, oh, no wonder you got a scholarship to honor. Army then. You had LaShaul McCoy. You had all these goons. Because it should have made a little bit more sense because he's going to the old rivals top 100 back in like 07 or 8.

And this is after he told me. Yeah. And he's like scrolling. He keeps bringing up. What's the school that LaShawn McDevich. He went to Shane. Gilles and the Trinity. Yeah.

kind of late we do have to be up pretty early for this activation for the tailgate tour it's probably time to get out here. And so as with like the feeling of like we got to wrap this up takes place, all of a sudden blue lights hit us and the cops pull up. We got tipped to it though. I didn't get tipped to it. Someone said that there was a tipping. I wasn't tipped on the tip. Yeah, lady drives up. She's leaving. She's like, hey, just want to let you guys know that there's a gal who went in there is complaining about noise with you guys. So just a heads up that there could be somebody coming out. Probably her.

There could be somebody from the store coming outside. So we're like, all right. Oh, good. Appreciate the heads out. Yeah. So the blue lights pull up. This cop gets out and he's like... Classic Knoxville, East Tennessee cop, the big, the old guy.

Yeah, he was like, he was mad. He was like, what are we, what are y'all doing out here? We all kind of like, is everybody around the truck right now. And this is my ID. He's like, what is the reason why y'all are out here? I just go, there's not a reason that I can give you. God, I want that. There's not a good reason.

We love high school football. Football, sir. Yeah. Because if you go, look at a Knoxville coach, go, we wanted to watch Friday night lights and decided that this is, we want to drink beer in a parking lot. You look around, you guys are grown men. Grown ass men. And we don't have one kid playing on that team.

That is crazy. He's like, what the hell did he say? He goes, where are y'all from? We go, Nashville. He goes, I'm pretty sure the open container laws are the same in Nashville. They are in Knoxville. Yes, sir. Yes, sir.

Let me see somebody's these. Your boy Connor starts squirling around the back. starts like popping the trunk and the cops are like hey who's this one scrolling around back here I'm thinking what the fuck are you doing he just had his passport and it's locked in JPM's trunk so he's just like over there kind of like oh fuck like I need it and then

Jake's like don't bring me into this yeah yeah it's like hey just wait and be like you have your idea but oh it's in the truck do you mind if I go grab her like not scrolling around the corner to pop a trunk where this one cop has 15 dudes around him so we're sitting there and it's like I'm thinking to myself hey this is this is funny

like hopefully we don't get a lot of trouble and then another cop pulls up Black chick gets out She goes, oh shit Let's go She goes, she goes Jesus Christ This is awesome

Another cop pulls out And he's like Oh, bustling with the boys I thought they were lying over the radio And I go you think that's awesome Man we got an extra treat for you Shane Gillis is right there as well He's like oh shit

So we're sitting there like We're still getting our licenses checked And everything else And the dudes coming up He's like hey can we take a photo And we do the post I'm like, as long as we're all good, Ted's like, as long as we're straight, yeah, we'll get a photo. We're good to go.

So we take a photo, dude. And the grumpy cop that pulls up, he ends up being like, listen, take your snacks, take your beer and just get out of here. Go drink, go have a couple of beers somewhere else. And that, it was such a peak moment of busting with the boys. It was. All of us just hanging out, talking about Friday night lights. The point of when we're driving back, I got to take shame back to the hotel, which is just the worst. part of the night.

But I'm thinking like how awesome would it have been if we actually got arrested? And the new, the press release that comes out of bustle with the boys, Shane Gillis get arrested for going to Friday night lights and drinking beers in a parking lot. Like that might have been the biggest W. Bussons ever taken in its life. We had to pull the Knoxville three weeks later for like our court date.

And it's like, how do you plead we're like not guilty for being awesome? Like just having a good time. We would have, we would have knocked that out of flying colors though because the, we were calling him grumpy. like he was straight he was just kind of doing his he was just kind of going through he's going through the steps he was going through the steps but he's like uh anybody here sober and i'm like it just immediately i'm like yes sir yes sir like everybody

who's driving is completely fine there were three vehicles we're just hanging out alcohol won a big one yeah they beat their ass we wanted to celebrate because we hadn't gotten the boys together we had three vehicles me will and uh jp had not had one bit of not one beer nothing and he's like all right get in your cars and get out of here. Yeah. Not to mention I got pulled over at five in the morning. Yeah, I went and left my house with Coleman and Clump. And I started going a little too fast down the road, get pulled over within four minutes of us driving to Knoxville.

Guy pulls up and even within five minutes, he's like, listen, I know you're trying to get to work. I'm like, oh, I'm going to Knoxville. And Clubs's like, no, no, no, we're going to work. That is work. And he's like, here's a warning, get out of here. So two less than 24 hours, two interactions, two different cities with two different Well, what's even crazier is that my route to Knox Hill, I got pulled over, but I did get a speeding ticket because the system is broken for guys like me. You should have been respectful.

I was very respectful. And I said I was going to work too. And then I mentioned I said podcast. And I think that's immediately where he goes, this guy's getting a ticket. How fast were you going? 82 and a 60. But it's at this point where you're coming into Knox County essentially. And you're going downhill.

And the speed limit goes from 70 to 60 and like 100 yards. difference right over hill. Gravity. Exactly. Gravity. But yeah. Did you turn the car off immediately? It rolled down your windows. Hands on. Yeah. I said let me get my hand on the dash. Oh, but dude, that was awesome. Damn, Jack. You must have done something wrong.

Yeah. I didn't play in the NFL. That's what I did wrong. Come on a multi-millionaire. But was with you in that, Jake. At home doctors. Okay. It had to be super cool for like you and chef and Matt to go back and like the red carpet being rolled out like that. What was that experience like? It was great, man. Again, we said it on the cultural ball intro, but shout out Bill Martin. He always comes through for the boys. Such an awesome experience, such a loud noon game. The flyovers from Air Force One were insane. We were right there watching Texas about to run out and then it just skims the top of kneeling. It feels like it was so low. It was. But I mean, when you got Trump in the building, I guess there's, there's. no rules. But that was. All time game experience, into the game,

obviously won a different outcome. But man, Knoxville always treats us so well. And I can speak for chef and Matt. Going back there as alumni, it's awesome to see how much that we get to be integrated with them and how cool they are and the access.

And it was great. And Kern's Bakery, too, where we had our tailgate was a perfect location for it. Weather could not have been better. It's fun time. Good time. That dog too, Smoky. Smoky. That's a good boy. Yeah. They were about to like retire him last year because he was a rescue and he wasn't trained

well enough and they went and started pounding the pavement and now he is he's back and doing well. If they retire Smoky after this year, would you be willing to house Smoky for the rest of his life? And my favorite one by far, there's three shirtless guys in their front yard, 7 a.m.

Speaker blaring Fettywob. And it just said, dear Arch. or hey arch, Smokey going to bite your balls off. And the sheet was hanging off by like two strands of tape. That was incredible. And then the other thing that I truly say this from my heart, as somebody that grew up around college football and just loves college football, all the guys in this office are affiliated with the University of Tennessee should be so proud of their university.

I truly don't think anyone in the nation does it better than them. it is so inviting it is college football what you think is college football they put it on steroids it's the best experience we are not worthy it's so sad

they have a great game day environment I'll say this about SEC dude like Bay 10 and I see both have great fan bases but like SEC has an incredible like home field advantage wherever you go play in any team but like the fan bases understand the marketing that they should do for their fan bases.

Like they show up every single time. They get after it. It is extremely impressive to watch SEC fans kind of go. And something about that white and orange too, that orange color they got on afternoon, the checkered going on. It's beautiful. And the weather.

How did your wife fare with Tennessee fans? Because it seemed like she'd be a couple clips I saw that you posted, seemed like she was ready to throw down a little bit. She fared, she fared. I was telling the guys the full story when we initially, walked by those frat boys she only got booze that was it when we started and we were going to a coffee shop so when we were coming back to them walk to the stadium they see us in our burn orange and they see me with my phone out already and they understood the assignment and we're like oh husband thinks it's

funny and wants to film and so they you know raised the level on it and we're giving her some you know go to hell go to hell and do the horns down but they're dying laughing as they're doing it. Stupid bitch. And I'm sitting there and I'm going. She was like they think it's funny. I'm going, Jill, you got to give them a hook them. You got to do something.

And she, once the camera went down, she was like, I'm going to let our play on the field do the talk. I was like, okay. But we loved it. It was like a really great, it was honestly a vacation. We had Scarlett at home, mother-in-law watching Scarlett. And we just got to him. enjoyed Knoxville and then Jill had so much fun. I had so much fun.

what things that get out to you that are like a weakness? We can get to the positives in a second. Oh, you know, I thought offensive line was going to be a weakness. But, you know, we got a bunch of kids from, you know, out of the portal and stuff that we liked a lot. But that's always been a historical weakness for the team. Yeah. And I really thought our strength was going to be, you know,

defensive line and our edge rushers and stuff like, you know. We need Dylan Stewart back on the two old times. We do. That hurts a lot. God. He's the best guy in the country. He is a, he is a stuff. He's a monster.

Yeah. Getting them back. That'll be huge. But I just thought offensive line was going to. And it's, I think every team. That's the thing about college football. Most teams has a lot of skill players. You know, you can get skill players.

But those those big guys, the middle that win championships, man. A lot of demand, very little supply. All the time. What kind of NIL? They got into the Darius Rucker Pockets yet? Of course, but that's how that to do with it? You need to go out there and get you some interior guys, you know.

I've done shows. We've done some stuff. You know, of course, you know, I want to participate in that. You know, I mean, you know, I mean, you know, I love our university and what we're doing in women's basketball and, you know, equestrian and the soccer team and the golf and women's school. All of our teams are doing so great, you know. And, you know, but you know, you won football national championship and, you know,

and you can't talk to me for a long time. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Same, similar pocket with Nebraska. Yeah. Good at a lot of other sports. Yeah, they haven't once since you've been alive, have they? It says I've been alive, yeah, in the 90s.

I was born in 89 now. When did they win the 90s? 94, 95. Some people talk about 97. Don't do that. Who won the... I'm just saying something about it.

You did, you brought up, I don't know if we were rolling, but you said like every time there's a national championship, you get a ring? Yeah, I do. How'd you spend that? I do a lot for the university, man.

What's your favorite national championship ring? Oh, my favorite is. The last one is National Championship. That one is just a beautiful, beautiful thing. But my second favorite is our first equestrian national championship ring. It's this big, beautiful Ruby. It is so gaudy. I wear that one of the football games all the time.

Will said earlier about getting in the pockets, your pockets for NIL standpoint. And you said, like, we do shows, stuff like that. We've talked to Shane Gillis, and he's talked about, like, Notre Dame, he's a big Notre Dame fan. And, like, doing a show. How many shows have you done for South Carolina

to, like, help out with the NIL and all that? A few. Quite a few. Yeah. I've done a few no shows. Probably my favorite show I've ever done was when we won the first women's national championship. I went to the college.

see them and me and Nellie played and it was they gave they gave away 15,000 tickets to all students oh that's awesome that is badass people were just going off the whole time it was awesome man we said some things that I forgot the internet existed I said some messed up things that I was seeing too that you want your uh your last show to be at Williams Bryce yeah you know that's it was funny you know Dan asked me that I was just messing with Dan when he asked me when I was going to retire because he's going to retire two years so I was like two years and you know

after all that noise when I started thinking man I really might but it's if Houdi to Blowfish I don't who do you blowfish is not going to play forever you know because I'm really getting to that point well I don't I don't know how much longer I really want to be out doing it all the time

so I know we're not going to play forever so when we're done I really think we will say hey look you guys because when we're done we're going to pull the RR Yeah, well, we're done, we're done. When we say that, and so we're going to go play with him price. When you, because you did, what, 110 shows last year? I didn't.

Just saying that out loud is, yeah, that's crazy to me because, I mean, that's just, I mean, that's a lot of work. People go, 110 to work, whatever. You don't realize you have to take every show and you multiply it by two or three because there's days, there's travel days, and rural days, everything you got to put in there with that. And so you're out doing that and you're just away from everybody. You know, you're in a different town every night. Every night, you're in a different town. Yeah.

And that gets, I just hope God knows I love my job and I'm blessed to do what I do. But just at some point you just really start going, man, how much longer I want to be on the road like this? Right. Running around, chasing. Like, say, you've kind of achieved everything you want. I'm sure from a financial standpoint, you've hit every marker you felt in your head as a kid. And so you have all this greatness. and it's like kind of look back on what point am I going to celebrate all the things I've done and relaxed.

You had over 100 shows last year. Was this the first time that you're like, man, do I really want to keep doing it at this pace? Or was there something before then? They're like, maybe I should tone it back a little bit, slow down. Like, have the ability to say no. I'll be honest with you and say that it really started probably at the end of last year where I really started going. I mean, it's a lot of shows. Yeah.

And I think a lot of it was, I'm spending a lot of time in London now. You've got a place in London. We spend a lot of time there. And I'll go home for two weeks and then flying here for four days. And then you're flying back over and you just go, man, I just want to, like I said the other day, I want to chill and spend some of this money now. Yeah, exactly. I just make it.

Sit back. What's the tale for you on, like, wanting to retire? It's like, if you're an athlete, your body just breaks down. So you kind of know what your time is coming. Right. Or you know when you want to do it. Yeah. You know and you want to do it for two more years.

Like what's the tell for you? Is it the family life? Is it knowing like, you know, I'm kind of over fucking traveling all the time? That's really what it is for me. It's the two things you just said. It's the traveling. I still really love playing shows. I mean, that's really cool.

But like the traveling is just awful. And I'm not getting any younger. You know, it takes a toll on your body. And, you know, being, you know, I'm being married and getting married and all that stuff. and the kids are adults now and they have their lives and you want to go see them and be a part of that

and yeah, that was really, just in the last year so I really started going to be, I got slow down. I just don't want to work like this. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, London, yeah.

You love it. I love it. You love being out there. I do love it. Fish and chips. Yeah, fish and chips. Fish and chips. Fish and chips.

And y'all, I'm going to say this to Americans right now. That food is crazy. I'm going to say this Americans right now. We think we just. drink. We don't drink, man. The British culture... There's a lot of rednecks right now. They're getting pissed off at that comment. The British culture of drinking is unbelievable. It's just a beautiful thing. From about 430 to 11, every day, these pubs, and I live in Soho, there's probably 100 pubs within 10 blocks,

five blocks of my house. And every pub is packed with people from 430 to 10 or 11. Every day. Was it just the booze that caught, made you fall in love with it? with London or was like what was the what was the part for you that I was like oh y'all I mess with these clouds I think the best thing the thing that really did it for me is as a kid you know you have those dreams you have different dreams of course I wanted to sing and all that stuff but one of my dreams is a kid that I always wanted to said I want to live in a foreign country someday you said you want to what we live in a foreign country someday yeah yeah yeah and I moved there really to make a record that's gonna be coming

out so it's actually my single I wrote over there and cut over there and it We and my fiancee, we kind of want to leave Nashville, you know, keep my place, but go to another big city. And after three weeks, and y'all, I hate winter. I mean, I hate winter. I hate rain. Hell yeah. It's cold.

Keep talking. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. Yes. And we are in London in December, and I'm going to the studio every day, and I don't think I saw the sun for three weeks. And three weeks in not seeing the sun, I actually said,

hey, what do you think about staying in London? And she's like, I'd love to. And so we've been there two and a half years. Let me put this together real quick. So you hate that. That's how much I love London. I hate winter. Really?

You loved it. Yes. That is wild because I'm like, I'm with you. Like I grew up out west where the sun was shining all the time. I go to Michigan for school. And the first winter, you don't see the, you don't see the sun at all like from late November to March. And I'm thinking to myself, why am I sad?

I don't understand why I'm so sad. It's just like, it wears me down. So you loved it that much. I loved it that much. Was it like a cultural thing? Because truly, I'll be honest with you. I'm not a world traveler. Yeah.

Like I got the continent. We finally get another trip or two books. I got the continental United States on law. I can get out of Cabo San Lucas. I'm with you on that. But other than that, I'm like kind of, I've been out to London for 72 hours and I was to play a football game. And then we flew right back.

What was it about London like that you loved so much? The people I met when I got there were cool. I had friends there already, but I met some people that got there to the music industry that were really cool. you know I just really somebody's felt like okay this is kind of home for a second this can be home for a second

and you know I do well over there I play arenas over there and everything but it's not like it is here you know I go anywhere and somebody might come up and recognize me whatever but it's very a lot more rare than it is here and I just really it really will point I was like I just want to

hang out and my kids know my kids love it yeah they want to how's the food over there I will say say this, it's gotten great. When we start, I've been going there for 30 years. Gotten great. Gotten great.

When I first started going there 30 years ago, the only thing you ate was fishing chips, Shepherd's Pie, or McDonald's. That's all you eat. But now they have great restaurants now, man. Okay. Everything's kind of royal. You guys got, there's so many games over there.

I can't believe you guys haven't brought the show over there during the game. They're trying a couple times. They tried a couple times. Come on, Portnoy, get off the money. Come on. Send the boys over there. Are you kidding me right now?

I will host the show with you when you come over there. I'll do that. I'll definitely. I'll run over there. You got extra bedrooms for us? I actually do. I got a big ass.

Yeah. Was there any other places abroad that you're like, oh, this place might be a spot? Amsterdam was number one. For real? Amsterdam was the moment. Amsterdam is probably my favorite city outside of Charleston. Those coffee shops? Coffee shops is great, but you'll get that anywhere.

Yeah, yeah. But it's amazing walking city. And it's the thing that. that people we say that it sounds so cliche, but I walk around a lot in these cities, and we go to see a church. Like my house in Charleston was built in 1868 or something. We're like, oh, my God, it's old.

And, you know, I walk around the corner and there's a church that was built in 1101. And, you know, it's just stuff like that. You see, like my house, I think Edgar Allan Poe lived in my house or something like that. Oh, shit. So there's a plaque on the wall. Writer.

That kind of crazy stuff. Yeah, he was a little bit. Yeah. You want to show us off going to right. Yeah. It was books. I mean, I like the history stuff as all. I love that stuff.

No, I completely understand that. Amsterdam. I don't really. I've just never been. There's a movie about Amsterdam. What is that? Scottie doesn't know a movie. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Euro trip. That's about all I know. That was a banger. It's about all I know about it. Yeah. How is it? Do you enjoy the fact that when you go over there, you're not recognized as much?

You kind of mentioned that earlier. but being in Nashville and Charleston and these other places where people see you and recognize you a lot, did that ever get old to you? Oh, no, it never gets old. You love it. I don't say I love it.

This is what I will say. This is, you know, you don't give yourself props a lot of things, but this is one thing I'm very proud of myself. Like, there's times when you're tired or you're having a shitty day, and you just don't want, you all know. Like, something's wrong,

and you just don't want to deal with it. And somebody will come up and there will be overly, overly friendly and really want to talk to you. And everybody gets that second where you want to be a dick. You get that second and every time I get there, it happens to me, it's never not happened. My brain clicks and says, hey man, nobody asks you to do this.

There was not one day in your life, anybody walked into your room and say, hey, Darius, you want to sing? No one ever did that. You decided this is what you want to do. The byproduct of what you do, and if you're successful is this. And this person wants 30 seconds.

and your whole life came from that person wanting 30 seconds. Yeah. I can give them 30 seconds. Yeah. I like that. Have you ever had a bad moment you look at, you look back on and eats at you by how you interacted with a fan? Probably, but, you know, I'm sure I probably did something,

especially back in the drinking days, you know. I'm sure there was, you know, with the back of the party in days, I'm sure I did or said some stuff I'm really shamed. No doubt, but you can't be held accountable for those things you can't remember. If you don't remember, you can't be held accountable. I'll tell you a crazy story. When I tell this story, and it's still unbelievable to me. We're playing a show one night, and it shows over, and it's a big party.

We're a big party backstage. And we're raging. There's a whole bunch of people back there, and there's this dude over in the corner, he's down on a white suit, white three-piece suit, white three-piece suit, white shoes, white shirt, white three-piece suit, a hair of the, you know, a little bob, staring me the whole, the whole time before he's going on. I have about an hour or so, go, go, oh, I go, hey, man, nice to meet you. What's up?

He doesn't tell me a name. He talks me a second. He looks me straight and I goes, hey, man, I'm your guardian angel. What the fuck? I freak out. I freak out. He got to go, freak out. He sits there and somehow he gives me 45 seconds.

He just tells me how he's there to protect me and he's going to see me. This whole thing and finally I just get away from this guy. So I'm like, all right, that's crazy, that's crazy. Two weeks later, we're playing Vegas at the Hard Rock. And there was this area that you walked in as a band, and you had to have credentials. No one could get here. No one could be in the crew.

There was just a door. No one could be at this door. And I'm walking in, and I'm talking to the bass player, and I look up, and that dude is standing in the frigate door. No shit. Standing in the door. No, no, no credentials. nothing, just stand in the door.

He said, hey, good to see you. I told you I'd be watching out for you. I ran so fast for that. Oh, hey, was you wearing the white suit and everything? He had everything on. White on. White on white on white, white. Three-piece, dude.

And it did it make you curious at all? Maybe I should sit down with this cat? No. Are you crazy? I don't know. If somebody tells me they're my guardian angel, 45 seconds, they break down a bunch of stuff keeping me safe. I freak out.

And then in a different city? Maybe I sit down. This cat kills me. I'm good. Yeah, maybe you have a couple of witnesses with you for sure. That is, that's not. Oh, look at this picture right here, by goodness. Why, y'all would have that?

How was your football career? From the age of 6 to 13, I truly thought I was going to play in the NFL. Like, I made the R-Stall team all the time. I was, you know, we won championships. I think that team went 0 and 10, and then the next year we went 10 and over and won the championship. And that year, I played running back. The next year I played quarterback.

and we were, I'll never get this, it's a freshman high school football and they were these two big, two big middle schools that, you know, we played on the park together and we all came together and we played together. And so I walked into the first practice and I got my pads on and I walk up

and I come over the hill. And I look down on the hill and I look out on that field and I thought, I played football with everybody out of that field. And I said, I'm not faster, tougher or bigger than anybody on that feel

I think I would just go home and sing I turn around and went back and I joined Middleton singers in like three days later that was actually when you decided I was gonna play in the NFL I should probably just stick with that singing thing that would sing like it was kind of nice though

if you're the quarterback I can play I can play I can play I can play you know I wouldn't have played Pess cool but I can play That's fucking that's wild Did you do any other sports younger growing up

Coach Reese, he coached college of Charleston for a minute, and then he came and he coach, he came and Coach Meadowton and Coach Reese. Coach Reese was that coach you hated in high school. Like, you see senior year, you take PE every year. You're senior year and you take PE, it's supposed to be a party. Yeah. You know, Coach Reese's first year of school, he makes us lift weights all year. I still want to kill for that.

So he's a basketball coach, and he's my friend, and he's cool. And I say jokingly the first practice, I say, Coach Reese, don't you cut me the first practice. Don't you cut me the first cut. He laughs, he goes giggled. So I'm going on, and we're playing in the past ball practice. I'm playing my buddy. And I'm playing.

I mean, I'm shocked and I'm bawling. I mean, I think I might have missed four shots in like eight practices. I'm bawling. I'm bawling. I'm bawling. First cut comes by. I'm like, he didn't cut me. Sweet, I'll go.

Second cut comes by. I'm like, oh, my goodness. It's about a few days from third cut. I'm looking. I'm like, I got a shot. And I mean, I go out, dude, and I'm, shoot. I'm lighted off from three. I'm so proud of my.

And I go last cut, and I was looking at the board, and he cut me. And I went, I said, Coach Reese, how could you cut me? I was playing so well. He said, dude, I told you I wouldn't cut you in the first cut. I was like, oh, man, that's messed up. He kept you a lot. Yeah, I got cut. No, that was it.

That was my last, no more sports for me. That was the last sporting event for you right there. That was my last sporting event. Coach, I only missed four shots. He only took five. Exactly. Yeah. When, when did you decide?

So you decided to, you walked over the hill, football is over for you. I'm picking up a guitar, I'm starting to sing. Winning your brain are you like, oh, I'm going to be able to make it doing this singing thing. Singing and playing. You reality steps in a senior year at high school and everything. And, you know, I got a job. And so I went to school, broadcast journalism. I wanted to do what you guys do.

And so I went to school for that. And it was really, I wouldn't say it was a I give up thing, but it was just like, oh, South Carolina, I have no idea. how to do that. You know, I mean, I'm singing on these things that I don't know how to do that. And met the guys, met Mark and Dean and Sony, and I guess my favorite story about when we thought

we could do it was Dean's parents. Dean got a scholarship to Elon to play bass in the orchestra and they didn't take it. Came to stop crying at a party instead, so his parents were mad at him and said, you can't play bass. You don't, you know, going on a party and play bass, so he couldn't play.

So he was playing with us on the side, and never told him, never told him. Finally, after three years of playing, finally time we're going to be in the band, because we're going to play in D.C. Dad's angry. Dad is angry, he's angry. I can't believe you're doing this.

So we go to show, this is the third time we play at this bar, and they're driving us to the show, and we're driving up the street, it's because K Street. And there's a bar, The street goes down a lot of a block and a half, and then it turns up and goes way up the street. And so we're coming up that street,

and there's a line of people. This line is seriously maybe 500 people, Died, outside the club. And we're pulling up, and Dean's dad goes, I wonder what this is for. And Dean said, well, Dad, thanks for us. It was like, oh, people waiting to get in. And so we get in, and we walk in,

and as soon as you walk in the door, you realize, there's not a single person out there, person out there getting in this bar tonight. This bar is just so packed. Nobody outside is getting in. And we're walking up. And he's in front of us and he looks at all the people and he turns around and goes, all right, y'all can do this.

And that's what I said. Yeah, we can probably make it now. Yeah, we can probably make it now. Yeah, if we can convince his dad, we had a real shot to make it. Was it always hooting the blowfish? Did you have a different name before that? Mark and I were the Wolf Brothers.

I wish we were still the Wolf Brothers. Oh, no shit, the Wolf Brothers. brother kind of ripped. That's a great name. Yeah, it's a great name. I wish we were still the Wolf Brothers, but yeah, Rudy the Bullfers,

I still can't believe. I didn't think anybody was going to call me a hoody. I'm an idiot. Yeah, that is. That's a misread on your... Look how hammering I am in that picture. That's where I was...

I mean, you could be hammered that photo. Look at your boy's hat in the back. That hat's brutal. You're still hung over that picture right there. That check... That backwards hat killed a lot of vibes in the 90s. That's a crazy fucking move. For people that...

What is those things called? Gango. That's what you're always rocking, huh? Sure. Them boys right there. I had one of those in third grade. I wore it every single day for like three months. I thought I was the man.

I love my artist, the artist Gilmore beard I got there going. It's kind of nice, dude. The gamecocks out on, though. Always. Always. When you're hitting these clubs, like how much are you guys pulling in a night?

Way back then. At that point, like that might just be what, that was probably, well, we had made it by them, but right before we made it, I guess the two years before we made it, each of us made like 60 grand.

And that was more than out of our friends who had gotten degrees we were making. So we thought we were. Oh, yeah. During what age is that? We were 26, 25, 26. Rolling in it. Yeah, I was thinking about buying a car.

And what year did you kind of just become Darius Rucker? When was that decision made? Oh, to go with the country? I guess 2000. 2005 we were touring every summer and Sony called a band meeting and I think that was the third band meeting we ever had

in our whole band existence and said he didn't want to be a touring band anymore. You said they didn't want to be a touring band? Really? And so we're a band man. It wasn't like we were going to go, okay, well we're just going to get a drummer and play. We're four of us are what we are

and so I was like, well, go see if what's happening in Nashville trying to get you guys to do it, I'm going to go do it. Yeah. So you went and did it on your own. How much friction was there during that? When he's like, I'm not gonna, I don't want to do. There's never really any friction with us, man.

We just, okay. What was his reasoning to want to be done? We were always on the road. Yeah. We were always on. He's where you were back then now. He had just gotten remarried. We were always on the road.

He just like, I just don't want to live like this. To get it. And instead of just keeping the name and keeping the band of finding a new drummer you're like I'm gonna go roll this thing solo yeah I'm gonna go see was there was there fear of becoming a solo artist because you see like a bunch of very rarely do big bands the lead singer breaks off and has a successful solo career were you worried about that at all I what I was doing it at first I was doing it for me I really wasn't thinking anything of it like I wasn't even trying to get a record deal

I well because I honestly I didn't get good to get a record deal I didn't I if I I always say that if I was my brother, and I was in the same situation, I was in it, I was a president of Warner Brothers Records, I wouldn't have given me a record, you know. Who's going to give the black guy who's coming from a pop rock band, a country music record deal.

No questions. In 2006, it's never going to work. Yeah, yeah. You know, I mean, I think I might have said this on this show before, but there were three or four people and they're my best buddies down and they'll give me that extra spin

if I needed to get the number one. But who told me instantly when I sat in their office, my audience is never going to accept it, that you say really just just like that yeah I mean you got you got guys who break away like in rock and roll and stuff like that to do their own thing but to be a black man going into country music especially the carpet bagger that's what they called guys who comes from popping rock the carpetbaggers especially the car you know really no you know but I got lucky that the music I had a had a label by my president

label just believed in it so much and you know we gave him the right right record. How was it initially received by the public when you jumped into country music? It was great because I had to go to 105 radio stations, man. Oh, you're rolling around. It was cool. Four day. Car wash it. Car one. Just ripping around. And sitting in the program room by they eating lunch, playing my songs, you know. It was instantly the first play, a quick story, you know, Texas is, is infamous for, you know, being really strict with their, with their country music on the radio. So I was finishing up some shows.

And I was, oh, yeah. They are Texas. That's one way to point it out. But yeah, okay, Texas stripped. You went in Texas. Yeah, yeah. And so, uh, Houdi was finishing up some shows. And we were going to Texas,

and my single was about to come out. And so they told me to just go by this radio station in San Antonio. And so we were like, okay, and we go to the meeting. And Mike Dungan, who's a president, who signed me a label, walks in, sees him going to San Diego, San Antonio and curses everybody in this room out.

Curses everybody in the room out. He says, why would you do that? Why would you send him on his first excursion to a place that we know is not going to play? He was just really mad. But they were like, he's already going to be there. He doesn't go there. We'll go there.

And so we go there and we play it for George King. And I still thank George King to this day. We play it for George and he loved the song. The first thing he said was, oh, my God, it's a country song. And I said, what the fuck were you? I expected. He said, I don't expect him. He says, I don't want to be with you with a fill.

I was like, well, no, I thought what was going to get. And so he loved it. And he said, we're leaving. He says, I want to play it. And we're like, okay, in two Tuesdays, we're going to do a big ad. Can you wait to add it then? And he's like, yeah, we'll wait. So we leave.

We're driving off the phone rings. And it's George, and the song's playing in the background. He goes like, man, I'm going to add it right now. And he added it that day. And every time we went anywhere that said, hey, well, I don't know if it's a country, we can say, well, they're playing in Texas. And that was, went a long way.

Yeah. That was a whole way. Got the needle to move from other places. So thank you George King again. Shout out the boy George King, man. That was a long way. Shout out Georgie, dude. A question.

Was there like as you're going through that, like is there an insecurity that you have walking into basically every room when you're starting to pub all this stuff? Absolutely. I was shocked because I had just come from playing arenas with Hootie

and went straight into this other thing and I was shocked how I felt like a brand new artist. I felt like I had to go out and prove myself to these people when I just sold 25 million records. Yeah. And I really felt like a kid out there

you know, proving these people like a sing but it was great. Because I think that the way that made me feel really came across to them. And I think if I had gone into those rooms going, hey, I'm Darius Rockwoodie, both of you,

she'd play my shit because I'm Darius, they wouldn't play that. You know, but I was really, you know, I was happy people want to see me. Yeah. You get to walk in rooms where you feel like the doubt is there. Oh, yeah. And kind of like, oh, I can't wait to prove these dudes wrong.

The one thing I knew that was in the business everywhere was doubt. Like Duggan tells the story of the night he decided to sign me, He was just at dinner with my manager and talked to him in the sign of me and he went to work the next day and he called the 13 people in Nashville

he thought were the tastemakers, the real people who were making country he was gathering. And he told him he was going to sign me and 12 of them told him it would never work. And he said half of them told me that I would be a laughing stop.

No shit. Dude, that's got to feel fucking good after all the success that you've now had in that world. The middle finger move is all the best revenge is massive success. Always. That's what I say all the time.

I don't get mad at people. The best of the band is just excited. That's right. What was the reason to go to country music for you? Tell me from a completely different genre. I love it. You just loved it. I've been telling the hoody for years.

After we got really big and things started coming down, and I was like, hey, man, let's just go make a country record. I mean, we listen to so much of it. In the bus and in the band, we listened to so much of it. And when I heard this guy, Radney Foster, who's not near as big as he should be, but he had a band called Foster and Lloyd, and then he had some solo records. When I heard him,

I just wanted to do that. Yeah. I wanted to sound exactly like that guy. When you get to Nashville, who are like the up-and-comers? Are you a guy that finds yourself in competition internally with other people or is it always with yourself?

Always with yourself. So there was never like numbers going on. You're nine, somebody else's eight, and you're like, nah, man, I'm fucking. Oh, no. No, because music is, for me, for her room for everybody and so I'm not compete if I'm number five

I'm not competing against number one I'm just trying to do what I can so that many people will listen because eventually number one's going to fall yeah I mean it's not going to stay number one unless you're Ellen Langley yeah she's on fire right now you know yeah she's on fire

but you know so I'm just really I'm always uncomfortable against myself yeah you know and the only go any song you put out is number one but it's so rare to see like somebody have so much success from multiple decades like you have like what was like a secret sauce for you

about how long I've been getting to do it. And I don't know what it's, what it is. I don't know. I like to think it's maybe it's the voice and the fact that, you know, when I get in a room with some guys, I can write some pretty good songs.

But I don't know, but I thank God for it. You know, because the real one of those things, I'm 60, man. You know, I got this new song out that I got a real shot. The song can be number one. That's crazy to think about. And I've been doing this from I'm playing music since I was 19

I've been doing this for 41 years It's just wild It's crazy to have that much That much success And it's just wild Like especially because every decade There's like you go to Spotify now And you'd be like check out the tens

Check out the 20s Check out the 2000s And like you can find A specific difference in that sound In every single decade When you're rolling through Not only changing genres But being a solo act

And now you're having success there And you're switching over from the 2000s the tens. What is like, were you ever at a tug of war with yourself about the sound you like versus the sound the direction of that decade? Oh, no.

No, you stayed you no matter what. I never know what the, I just always just go make my records. That's it, no matter what. If it's not going to work, it's not going to work, but I'm just going to make my record. Yeah, yeah. And I got great producers.

Is that an earned perspective that you have? I think so. I think it's a great way to put it. Because I think early on, especially with, with the producers we worked with I really stayed out of it but now

but then make the kind of decisions on what comes out exactly what comes to versus or if we use that instrument sounds better or not yeah you know that you know now if I don't you know if I didn't like it I wouldn't have said anything

if I hear something back on that that's not yeah it's so interesting we had Eric Church on here and it seems he's awesome but it seems like you kind of sat back and we're like hey whatever you guys think is best from like a single standpoint or putting this instrument he sees totally different he's like no no no fuck that we're gonna have it

this way is how it's gonna be he's fighting with his label and all that but you kind of went around the labels back to like release that one yeah yeah he released one which is crazy that and a lot of artists who like that who who you know they want

especially with singles and everything they know exactly what they want there I'm that guy I love if I put a song on a record I love it and the simple as that If I put a song on a record, I love it. And I know nothing about radio. I just know what I like.

And so when it comes to stuff like that, I don't care what you put out. I think every song on this record is great. I have a rule in my life. If I don't want to sing a song for the rest of my life, I won't put it on a record because you don't know what's going to be a hit. And if you have a big hit, you've got to play it the rest of your life. Yeah.

And so when it comes to singles, I don't care. But the new one was different. I kind of begged for the new one. Yeah, you beg for the new one? Yeah, but, uh, I feel you, hey, listen, with 41 years, you don't gotta beg for shit. I didn't really have to, okay, begs a big word.

You had to ask, politely and firmly. I asked nicely, and you know. He's got good relationships. He's got good relationships. Yeah, I got good relationships with MCA records, and they were very good, and they loved the song too, so that was. Yeah. What's your favorite, like, you know,

like your friendship with Tiger Woods, you also have a NASCAR team. Like, what's your favorite extracurricular outside of music? Well, golf, of course. This is my favorite thing, but the thing, you know, it's funny that you brought it up because something I'm really starting to love

is what I'm getting to do with the NASCAR team of legacy. You know, I get to go, like Jimmy, this is a funny story. Jimmy is racing the trucks out in the desert earlier in the summer, and I got a couple days off, so I'll come down, race, he'll come watch the trucks.

He's like, cool, and so it's our team, and we're down there, and he's qualifying. And he goes, all right, man, I'm going to qualify. I got a qualify run two laps and then a couple of guys gonna finish this I'm gonna take you around the track in the truck yes

yes so he's going around he qualified he finished qualifies he finishes his qualifying lap his last lap he hits he hits this hits a ramp flips boom

lands on the and just the car never comes the wheels up he's down him and the navigator get out laughing and they're you know everybody's making sure

They're okay, cool. So they take me back to the garage area, and Jimmy's back there, and the truck is there, and they've got it all fixed up, and Jimmy goes, okay, when everybody's done, I'm going to take you in the truck and take you around. I was like, there ain't no fucking way. Hell no.

In that truck, you just flipped it qualifying, and I know what you're trying to do to me, so no, I think I'm going to be okay, and I didn't get in the truck. But, I mean, it's really, I'm getting to do some great stuff. I've always loved NASCAR, but all the other stuff that Legacy does is pretty awesome.

How did that opportunity come up for you? Jimmy and I have been friends forever. And Jimmy just came out to me. He was like, hey, let's start a little thing here. He's getting going. When I moved to London, he was living in London. And so we were hanging out a lot. Sounds like London.

That's right. Yeah. Yeah. So we were hanging out a lot and we were out drinking at the Devonshire one night. And he was like, hey man, I'm thinking about doing this thing. And I really want you to be a part of it. And that was, what much do you want for me? For real.

He's a cool. Is that easy? Oh, yeah. Yeah, that was a no-brainer. That's so awesome. Jimmy was the one rocking the vans too when. I know he's got that Cali vibe for sure. NASCAR has changed.

After the Michael Jordan, after all that stuff that just happened with the court and everything, NASCAR is... That's a good place to be. Host of ours is punching Blaney in the face. You see that? Hell yeah, I saw that. Out of old school.

Hey, we had the CEO on here for our racing with the boys show and he was talking about kind of loosening the reins on the fights as long as the pit crews don't get into it. And it's just the drivers. He's like, we'll let that slide. So when I saw a host of our Hosevar Land went flush, I was like, okay, we're back.

I can't believe Blaine just took it and smiled. It's not, listen, we pulled that video up record. He tried to give him back too, and he couldn't like, he could. Yeah, it was like a little, it was like a brush of the cheek because Hoseva, he clipped him twice. I know. And Blaney, he's been on the show twice. He's a dual friend of the show similar to yourself.

And it's just like, I hate it for him, but also I love how much all these drivers that come on hate Hosevar. Like having a villain is so great for a storyline. any sport. But the thing is, if I was in his camp, we would be playing that up. We'd be cow bushing that. Yeah, I'm the villain. Absolutely. I'm the villain. Animal whoop your ass on Sunday. Yes. You like the villain? I don't, I mean, I don't pull for the villain, but every, every, every, every champion needs a villain. You need it for the entertainment. Every hero needs a villain. If you, if you don't have the villain, who's the hero going to be? Exactly.

It's like, oh, link, if I was going to say, were you watching LSU Ole Miss, hoping to I would say this honestly. I couldn't care last about Ole Miss football and you would have thought they were the game talk. Oh no shit. You would have thought they were the game. I was the opposite man.

They sell out? Yeah. So, God, we got to sound. out today, you know, you're running around campus, having no flyers and shit, you know, but after we made it, there was, we didn't feel incompetent, but it was confidential anymore.

When you were playing for frat houses, what was your form of payment back in the day? Money and beer. I guess probably that Dave Matthews show, we played with a frat house, we probably got $1,000 and all the beer we can drink. There you go. All the beer we could drink.

I did, I heard, there was a rumor in our pre-production that you got paid for cases of beer to play opportunities when you guys first started. Oh, at first started. And the price went up. It went for my two cases of beer or three cases of beer. Absolutely. Our first, probably 10 gigs or 15 gigs were strictly for beer.

Strictly for beer. Yeah. I love that. We had to steal the PA from the university because we couldn't afford to rain and pay a. So I was in a show choir and we had our own PA. And the guy who was in charge of it was a friend of mine. So we'd steal the PA and take it to the club

and play and take the PA back. No shit. That's why I love South Carolina. Stuff like that. I mean, that's, if I hadn't going to South Carolina, my life would be one absolutely different. I don't think I would have played in a band. I don't think, I definitely wouldn't have had

this kind of success. And when you look at all four of us, Dean, like I said, should have gone to Elon. He thought he was. Mark wanted to go to JMU and didn't get in. Sony wanted to play soccer, and the only reason he came to South Carolina is because the only division of one school

would give him a scholarship. I decided a month out of South Carolina I was going there because they were in the Playboy Magazine's top 25 party schools, an article. That's all I decided to go there. That's why you read those magazines for the article. It was the article. It was the article.

It'd be split right in the middle. Dolph is on one side, Gabe Cox, on one side. That would be the greatest day of all time. Could you imagine? What a turnaround too. That would be.

Oh, could you imagine? No. No. Not really. I don't think I could. Dolphins and Gamecox winning the title. Like there's so many things on this earth that I think 100 years ago they look back and be like there's no possible way and I'm sitting there right now thinking that same way

So I'm like, oh, yeah, I'll meet you days. I'll meet you there. The guy will meet you there. I'll be there a couple hours after you.

So I get there and the guy takes me up to this room. And as I walk in the room, there's an Olympic side swimming pool in the room. And the guy says, well, there's like eight rooms in here. Just pick whichever one you want. And I saw it walk out. And every room was like 1,450 square feet each room. And I'm like, this is crazy. And so Charles comes a couple hours later on.

Charles, how many people stay in there? It's like, oh, just me and you. It's like, holy shit. So all right. We go, and this is when I knew that people gamble to a level, I have no idea. So we go, we go to the fight. We have a great night. We gambled sitting there.

He's a crazy party. He plays roulette. They bring a roulette table instead of next to a blackjack table so we can sit there and drink and gamble together. And we're having a great time. And the next, he says to me, it's all you're getting home tomorrow. I'm just going to catch a pudding.

He's like, no, man, you know, I'll get you a flight home. Cool, cool, what? We get to the airport the next day. It's me and Charles in a 747. Okay, me and Charles, and I'm freaking out. We land in Phoenix and Charles says the guy you know, take him to Charleston.

No shit. Take him to Charles. 747. This was at a point in my life where I got these friends and they're like my best friends. I see them all the time now like the Good Boys Weekers but we had a couple, like some months of years where I was working so much

and didn't see them very much, didn't really know what they were doing. And I pulled into the FPO in Charleston and one of my three best friends in the world is working the FPO. I didn't even know he was working here. And the thing comes down. He's waiting for the pastures come down. I walked down and I look at Glob.

And I go, Glob. He goes, D-Rock. Who else is on that plane? And I went, me. No shit. It was unbelievable, dude. I was like, wow. What do you have to gamble?

747. 747 to Charleston. Go ahead, take him to Charleston. Yeah, take him to Charleston. To get off a plane, go ahead and drop off. He's just crazy. We saw Charles,

what was it, the Super Bowl? Yeah, Super Bowl when it was in Vegas and it was after like a power slap and we're kind of walking towards the back room and like, oh shit, Charles Berkeley, that's awesome. He's been getting after it. And it's like, man, I hope he's,

go to this bar. There's just me and Charles in this bar. And it's like a Tuesday night. There's nobody there. There's three drunk redneck sitting at the bar. And Charles and I are sitting there having a great time and talk, flirting with the waitches and having a great time drinking, getting really drunk, you get throwing back shots. And one of the rednecks walks by and he walks by and he kind of says something to Charles and, you know, we laugh at all, nothing's going on. Charles gets to go to the bathroom and one of the guys goes to the bathroom and coming out and that kind of jawing, come out, The guy walks over the bar. Charles goes and the guy yells over and says something.

I said, what the fuck did he say? He's like, DRock, where are you from? I said, Charles. He's like, can you go? Like, get Charles up. I'm good. He's like, are you with me? I was like, yeah.

The dude says something. I get, we get up. And we start walking. And we are going over here to fight. And these bouncer come out of nowhere. Because the bartender saw it. Grab these three guys, throw them out. And I get home.

and I realized, I almost got to fight with Charles Barclay tonight. Yeah, that is a while. We were going to mess those boys up, though. They were too drunk to fight us that. We were going to mess those boys off. You can go? You can go? You can go?
