I was thought that by an international soccer player. If I one to talk trash to a German. And quite simply, this from Glenn, he's 75s more, 70 miles north in Bulling Green, Kentucky. Oh, a podcast. So you don't work.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Got it. Got it. Don't have a little one myself. But listen, every week because this duo is electric, keep it up gang. And that's what we do. And being a dad, it's not rocket science, sir. No, no, no, no, no. It ain't rocket science.
Starting point is 00:06:21 So don't make it. Oh, you think it's sick because you just love seeing your little ones fall asleep? Tell us more how hard parenthood is. Hey, Will, how many kids do you have? Two. Oh, that must be really hard. Try having three. Driving four.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Oh, that must be like a really hard time to have three or four kids. Tell me more about it. Joe Flacco's got five if you watch the quarterback on that one. You got five. And, um, uh, Kirkco, big Kirkgo. How many does he have? Duggins? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Kirk cousins. Doesn't he have like five or six? Five is like three. Have two? Two sons, but you might be thinking of Philip Rivers. I'm thinking of Philip Rivers. The other light quarterback. He's got 12. He's got something like that.
Starting point is 00:06:59 He's got a football team. That's on me. Couch pulls out, but he does not. Philip Rivers. No, we just ran through. If you're new here, we just shout out a bunch of comments where people were dropping comments. Yeah. We know where they were from.
Starting point is 00:07:13 We love to feature the audience of Papa Team 6, Milk Team 6. Some like to call it Mama Team 6, very fair. Seaman Team 6, scoom berets. We love embracing the community. If you want to be featured on the show, we simply just read comments. Spotify, YouTube, our social media platforms at for the dad's pod. We grip it, we rip it. We talk wins, losses, highs, lows, lows of parenthood.
Starting point is 00:07:35 And it's a great time. Yeah. A couple of beers. A couple of dads slinging a couple of beers in a garage, talking shop, sipping on an olipop. Hey, Will, are we experts at this shit? No. Nah.
Starting point is 00:07:49 I'm definitely not. I'm bringing in a huge dad out this week. You know, there's a couple. There's one I got saved from. Yeah, dad. What I got to say, well, you know, the shitting on the carpet thing is a dad lost because it was on my watch and she finds the stain when she gets home. Was she naked girl or was it night of blowout? It was one of those situations where you guys know as a, as a, I'm going to say parent, but I don't feel like this.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Mom's staying on top of it way more than fathers do. I could be assuming. Oh, safe to assume. Safe to assume. Safe to assume. But also one of those dad situations where you're just, you're prolonging the diaper change.
Starting point is 00:08:32 Yes. I smell Scotty. Oh, did you poop? She said, poop, poop. You want Daddy to go change you? Nope. Oh, I think it's time to go change you. Nope.
Starting point is 00:08:40 It's right here, dude. Yeah, yeah. Get it. I think you poop. Nope. And you kind of just let it go. You're like, all right, this seems like it was a fresh one.
Starting point is 00:08:51 You kind of pat the ass a little bit. You feel it. Like, okay, it's not too big yet. So you just let her goon. You just let her do her thing. Now, she had a, she had a dress on. So it was like dress over the diaper. So nothing, nothing underneath.
Starting point is 00:09:07 Dress over diaper, but does the, do you, do we have snap buttons? There's no snapping. Really? No snapping. It's just, you just put the dress on and kind of like, you know, flows over there. Dang, dude. Dangerous game. Dangerous game, risky business.
Starting point is 00:09:20 Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it bit me the ass. Damn. But the time I finally did, it's because I'll, I was holding her and then I like felt the little something. I saw it on my shorts. Like, oh, time to go change you. And, you know, kind of messing around.
Starting point is 00:09:32 So on my arm, I'm like, I got to wash my, I got to basically go take a shower. That's it right there. And it's always the left arm for me too. Yeah. And so I change her. I come back down and I kind of, you know, survey the situation, check the situation. I check the couch. Check a couple things where I didn't think to check the ground.
Starting point is 00:09:49 You missed it completely? Yeah. Yeah. Because it's like, you know, a few little streaks, a few streaks. few streaks. That's why she got upset. Yeah. And so, you know, she's playing. She's obviously playing gets to where, you know, I don't know, I guess she's like itching her ass like a dog, which is where she gets down on the ground. It's Godzilla.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Scottzilla. You never know what you're going to get with Scott Zilla. Anything's on the table. Anything's on the table. It's where, you know, it was fleeting. I didn't see it. Well, I've come home with this on the ground. Oh, shit. I don't know. And then she walks away, maybe to get something to start spraying. That's where the animal stain remover comes in. That's a dad hag. Make sure you have some animal stain removal on hand. Dad hack, by the way. But as she goes, I get down on my hands and knees on.
Starting point is 00:10:27 And I'm like, oh, yep, that was, that was Scotty shitting on the ground. A little blowout. Blowout mode, you know, gets outside. You lay him down on the changing table. You kind of see the little borders of the diaper. You're like, okay, any longer, it would have leaked out big time. And that shout out dad for saving the day. Realized Dad didn't save the day when wife came home and saw the stage.
Starting point is 00:10:45 But shout out, dad. And very dad brain for if I, like, Jill comes home. Jill goes, what is that? I do the exact same thing you just described. Get on all fours. I sniff it. Oh, shit. I'm not sure.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Oh, that shit. Oh, yeah. She shit on my arm earlier. That makes sense. The first thing you say is, oh, I don't know. That must have just happened. Just happened. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Oh, that was. Oh, that is shit. So I'll clean, clean, clean, clean, clean. Oh, we're done. We're off to the next thing. Well, I've cleaned it. My situation. Or that.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Probably because she just loves. using, y'all probably have a handy dandy little carpet cleaner that's fun to use. Yeah, but I feel like gives the energy like, oh, I'm kind of like, get it. Let me just handle this. And you kind of just stay in there not knowing what to do. And then like as they're like walking toward the state, do you need help with anything? So I'm just going to get this out. Oh, good.
Starting point is 00:11:42 You got the carpet cleaner. That's going to, that'll do it. The animal statement. That's a good. That's smart. Yeah, that's like that. So dad lost. Dad lost, dude.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Hey, not that bad of a dad loss. And if I'm a dad at your house, let's say we're hanging out. Okay. Hey, Will, what is that? Hey, that must have just happened. I don't know. Oh, I don't know. Some just go down.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Because we're watching the game. We're watching the game. It's probably waffle. I mean, we wouldn't have second guessed anything. And then later you smell Scotty, you go, oh, yeah, that's a Scotty business. We clean it up. Dad brain is off to the races. We're done.
Starting point is 00:12:21 Yeah. We recognize it 45 to an hour later. Yeah. But we jump on it. We get on and clean it up. Then we dab each other up like, oh. And we're moving on. We're deading our ass off right now.
Starting point is 00:12:34 It's the, yes. It's the film room when you get caught by Wi-Fi. Yeah. Like if Wifi finds it, then you got to watch tape. Yeah. It's not on to the next thing. It must have just happened. She's already marching over to go get the stuff.
Starting point is 00:12:48 I get out, smell it. I'm like, oh, shit, this is about. Will tell me 45 minutes ago You start getting the questions Do you want me to help? All right And then you kind of just stay in there
Starting point is 00:12:58 Did she have a poopy diaper? What happened? What's going on? Was it diarrhea? Did it blah, blah, you started getting those questions And then you're having to answer a bunch of questions.
Starting point is 00:13:08 Maybe we need to take her to the doctor tomorrow. I My dad loss is I was being a butt head last night like a really big butt head. A poop face.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Okay. A jerk old. Kid show. Kid show. Kid show. Fart knocker. I was being a fart knocker. I was being a Goomberay, but a bad one.
Starting point is 00:13:34 Not one of the good ones that we celebrate on this show. Okay. I slept on the couch. My own, my own decision. My own decision. Out of anger? Out of anger. Out of anger.
Starting point is 00:13:49 Out of anger. I popped off. I was shaving goose. The whole goose situation, the dog situation, man, the dog owners out there that have these young kids, it's just the dogs, dude.
Starting point is 00:14:03 And to the point, you think about putting them down. Yeah, dude. Like, go, hey, should the dogs go on vacation to Texas has been brought up a lot? Should they go visit Grandma in Texas? Gets brought up a ton.
Starting point is 00:14:15 I am not one to accept defeat. I'm like, we're not going to be that family that sends off our, dogs. We started this family with these dogs and by God they're going to end their lives in this family. We're not going to cut you out.
Starting point is 00:14:29 And I said something I shouldn't have said, dude. I said, you know, Jill, I didn't buy these dogs. I didn't find these dogs. I seemed to remember that you found these dogs and then I started dating you. Holy shit, man.
Starting point is 00:14:51 Talk about just going kamikaze. I went full mindlessly kamikaze into it. I wasn't even trying to hurt her in the moment. Like what I said stung and it was mean. But I did not come in there being like, oh, this will really get her. It was more so just like we're talking about how much the dogs are an issue. Not an issue, but just a burden.
Starting point is 00:15:17 Yeah. That we- So you're thinking, let's get to the root of why we even have these dogs in the first. Yes, and I instantly get defensive of, weren't you the one that saved these dogs off the street? But yet it seems to- Time to get the finger out of the pocket. Oh, big time.
Starting point is 00:15:35 But hey, where are those other fingers doing when you do that, Will? You got three-point back to you, man. Damn, man. And that's literally what happened. Bro, I tried to challenge Jill by saying, you know, these are kind of your dogs and like they're pretty much my full responsibility now. And like it kind of sucks having this be.
Starting point is 00:15:55 She was like, oh, okay. So we want to, we want to do scoreboard really quick on the dogs. Let me, let me run through scoreboard of daughter stuff that I do for our daughter. Oh, no. That I don't have time doing stuff for the dogs. I got very quickly put in my place as I should have because I was out there talking crazy. and then I really wanted to hurt her feeling so I watched House of the Dragon without her on the couch and slept on the couch, man. I was being a loser last night, an actual loser.
Starting point is 00:16:31 An actual butt munch. Yeah, that's... You know what the worst part is? You haven't apologized yet? No. What, you haven't? Textually, I have apologized. I've not done it in person.
Starting point is 00:16:52 I know. You got to get on it. I mean, this, oh, it's out fresh right now. It's Wednesday. Right now we're recording on Monday. I know, dude. It's not good. We can't have this kid out there.
Starting point is 00:17:04 There are no people. No, yeah. I mean, hence why, like, it's Monday. So, like, we got some time. I'm going to go home. There's still time on the clock. There's still time on the clock. I'm going to go home.
Starting point is 00:17:14 And it's, you know, I don't think it's going to be a war zone simply for the fact that Jill knows that I'm coming in, tail between my legs. she knows that I messed up last night that I was being a jerk now I'm going to have to go in there and own up to me being a jerk face the music
Starting point is 00:17:32 face the music dude I really thought I was doing something last night is that not crazy oh yeah buddy what would Blake think he'd be so disappointed dude he really really would like no part of me is proud of this
Starting point is 00:17:50 I'm bummed I'm bummed but I bring it to the show obviously there's a little bit of levity to it of like it's not the end of the world. Yeah. I was sitting up with Danny Durkin, one of our interns. Shout out, Dirk. One of our intro is such a legend. And he's just,
Starting point is 00:18:10 Can I pick your brain for a second, man? You nail on the head. I said, Durkey, because he's just a young Gumbrae, I said, dude, I'm really bummed today. He's like, sure, what's going on, man? like, what's a, I was, I was a jerk to jelly bean last night. It was an absolute jerk. I said, why the hell would I do that?
Starting point is 00:18:32 I got that little best, best dad ever, picture frame on my desk with me holding little Scarletta and jellybean sitting right there. I said, look at those two. What am I thinking, man? And he goes, hey, that's why we got today, man. That's why we got today. I was like, Danny Durkin.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Let's go. I'd already shot off at Texas. that point. Just say, hey, I was a jerk class. I'm really sorry, Julie Vian. Do we get a response? Does she know about dragons yet? Yeah. I turned that shit up. Yeah, you turned it up.
Starting point is 00:19:07 Oh, yeah. You're like a pissed off teenager blasting their music in their room. Just chomping my popcorn, too. Man, Damon's so badass. Holy shit. Just spit my popcorn and watched it. I haven't either. I forgot it drop.
Starting point is 00:19:24 last night. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Good so. We went and watched the Odyssey. Good flick. Good flick. Good flick. Can't say too much. Obviously, you just came out. Great flick, though. Like a 3,000-year-old story in your defense. And you don't even give me started on that. You had to get sure. I was like, you for sure read about this in high school or somewhere
Starting point is 00:19:48 along the line. Buddy, I don't think so. Nothing going into it, like blind about the... Yo, I didn't know. I was sitting there all like, oh, shit. Yeah. And then I was like, oh, these are like the Hercules people, creatures. Yeah, you got it. Yeah, like Cyclops and stuff like that. And the gods are punishing with the traditional beasts of that era.
Starting point is 00:20:05 Jesus. 80s. I know those guys. Yeah. They're ripping Hercules, man. Arguably the greatest story ever told. Poseidon. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:14 Poseidon. That's the water, right? Poseidon. Yeah, yeah. You got it to think of it. I got nothing to apologize about. Oh, no. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:20:23 Whoa. Okay. I said you haven't apologized for the first one. Do I need to apologize to the camera? No, no, no, no, no. You got to handle it at home first. I'm going to handle it at home first. Scarlett has a mermaid birthday party coming up.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Okay. Fort Worth this coming weekend. That's my crack of cold one. And I'm dressing up as King Triton from Little Mermaid for the party. He's got the gray beard. the gold crown, the gold gauntlets, the Trident. Very excited about that. Jill was telling all of your friends about how I was dressing up as King Triton.
Starting point is 00:21:02 And I corrected her multiple, multiple, multiple times saying it's King Neptune, honey. It's not King Triton. It's King Neptune. King Neptune's from SpongeBob. Jill was right the whole time. Oh, there's nothing worse. Especially when you're standing 10 toes down on something. You think you're standing on business.
Starting point is 00:21:23 The equivalent when someone goes, you go, Google it then. Let's just Google it. Let's fix it right here. She took my word for it. She apologized to me, said, I'm so sorry. I don't know why I keep on calling them Triton. Probably because you're right the whole time, honey, and I'm a do-do. I'm a do-do-it-remember. What started off, all these stories?
Starting point is 00:21:42 We're not experts. We're not experts. We're not experts. It's not a rocket science. It's not- Yeah. This shit's so easy. What am I doing?
Starting point is 00:21:51 What am I doing? Yeah, what are we doing? We have some follow-ups? I hit the follow-ups shout-outs on Spotify. I do have some shout-outs. Or actually, PT6 community. Ooh, that could be good. I have the week of good.
Starting point is 00:22:07 Here we go. Good. Good. Good. What's up, boys? This is Nathan Barker. Name is Nate father of 20-pound, 31-inch, 99th percentile, nine-month-old Finn. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:22:21 This week, I had a lot of good. Good moments. Started off with a leak in the water pipe in the attic. Good. Went to fix it. And the fitting that I purchased to fix the leak exploded when I turned the water on good. Attic is flooded. Bathroom is flooded. Good. Called a professional to get to get the pipe fixed. And while they were attempting to clean the water, hand goes straight through the ceiling drywall. Good. Love a hole in my ceiling. And as we move all the stuff out of the bathroom into the spare room, I find the carpet is soaked. Oh, good. Pick up some things.
Starting point is 00:22:51 found black mold. Good. Good. That's ideal. The same flood, you ask? Nope. Another pipe leap leaking. Good. So, now I rip the carpet up. Call the plumbers back to get that one fixed. While all this happens, the AC goes out.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Oh, God. By the way, bought this house four months ago. Good. Love you guys. You keep me going. We'll update when more shit happens. What's his name? L-O-L. This is Nathan Barker. bro Nathan needs like eight coupons from us dude that guy's in hell right now yeah I don't know what can save my man nothing nothing if I had to write a fictional like oh what would be a funny good to read on the that's it that's when your hand goes through the drywall and you just keep teeing off on the dry wall house for four months house for four months dude four months two different pipers and a
Starting point is 00:23:51 goes out. That right there that'll break a man. And black, dude, black mold. They're going to have to get out of the house. They're going to have to hazmat that area for removal. Good. Good. That's awesome. That's the shit right there that'll break a dad. Good Lord.
Starting point is 00:24:09 I got Lucas Ram too. He's on YouTube. He says Sherm got to share my childhood vacation with my son for the first time this year. I was blessed to have a cabin on a lake. Lake of the Ozarks. Oh, that's where he's at?
Starting point is 00:24:23 Yeah. For the vast majority of his childhood, my family still goes at least once a year. But this Memorial Day trip was the first time with my son, one to go on an adventure and explore, take him up the creeks that I explored as a child, jumping off the dock, going to our secret fishing spots. Man, I don't think there was a day that I didn't have a man cry like yours. I know Scar is little, but be ready and make sure you share every single. single memory with her. Lucas, what a ride in, dude. And that's awesome. Great comment right now.
Starting point is 00:24:56 All things considered. All things considered. All things considered. I have one here from Brian Johnson. This is, this is, I, yeah. It's via email, my two year old son, Vince, begged me to cut his toast in the triangles and then got extremely pissed because one side of the toast wasn't pointed enough. It wasn't pointing enough. Oh, yeah, yeah. Good. Good. Dude, there is nothing that chaps your ass. Then your little one just,
Starting point is 00:25:26 when I say a little one, because the age can range. Rue is like this. Like, if it ain't a certain way, she'll lose her shit, bro. Yeah. I'm talking, I'll get her buckled in.
Starting point is 00:25:36 She doesn't want buckled in all the time. She wants to do it herself. Yeah. She can do the top of, but when she's trying to click it in, it takes a moment, and then you're just going to stay in there. Like, for the love of God,
Starting point is 00:25:44 get your ass buckled in. And it's totally okay to ask that for help. I know you can do it, but the time we're taking to get this done, let me just buckle your little ass in. And as your hand slowly reaches for it, no. Throw her hands down, look up. Or like, I want to get it. Say, say Scotty, Scott Zilla, she'll drop Lama off the side of her car seat. We're using the other one.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Rural want to unbuckle the top and reach over and get it. And I'm just like, dude, let me get Lama. I'm right here. All I got to do is turn around and reach and grab it. Yeah. No, I want to get it. And then I'll get it and hand it to, hand it to Scotty.
Starting point is 00:26:23 And that's a whole deal. We could be, it could be a situation where she's at the top of the stairs. Lama could be on the ground. I could be standing right next to Lama. No, no, no, no, no. I'll get it. Sweetheart, I love you.
Starting point is 00:26:35 I'm right here. I'm right here. I'm just going to pick it up. No, no. Let me get it. I'm picking it up. And then as soon as you picked it up, you might as well have thrown it in the food dispenser.
Starting point is 00:26:46 Yeah. you might as well throw it away. I feel my man Brian here. I feel my man Brian. And nothing breaks your heart like your kids being really sad that you have to leave the house for whether it's work or a trip or whatever it is. Yeah. And they need about 8,000 hugs and kisses.
Starting point is 00:27:03 Like we'll go through the Rolodex, the routine. Give Rue great routine. Give Scott a good routine. Roo's got to do it again. Then I'll be like, all right, I'm leaving. So I'm going, Dad, I want to give you a hug kiss, three squeezes, sweetheart. We've done it twice. But the stuff that I'm bitching about, those are the things that we always sit there and talk about.
Starting point is 00:27:20 You're going to ultimately miss. I'm aware of that. Yeah, dude. But let me vent a little bit in this moment. Golly. Man, you really hit it. You hit the nail on the head right there. I'm being serious.
Starting point is 00:27:33 That is the stuff we're going to miss. Yeah. Dude, it breaks my heart. I'll be backing out to go to come to the shop and rule. We'll go through the whole routine a few different times. Yeah. And she even has to. come outside to wave while I back out.
Starting point is 00:27:48 And some days, bro, she's waving, tears coming down her eyes. Because she's so bummed. Dude. I'll stop. Get out of the truck. We'll do another one. Yeah. But my sweetheart, I'm coming home. You're going to have so much fun today. And they'll just, you know my driveway.
Starting point is 00:28:05 I'm talking Mount Everest. It's like a movie scene type driveway of pulling out lengthwise that she has to wave at you. Yeah. And picture Roo at the top and I'm backing out the whole time. And she's just at the top, like just. waving the entire time until I'm fully gone. And I just, I've got to do one of these the whole time. I'm looking down and backing out.
Starting point is 00:28:22 You do. Because it is, it's a hard one to pull out of. If you're not looking at the backup camp. Yeah. Oh, man. I have a lovely email. Just speaking of good from Christopher Blake.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Or actually, these are two different comments. One is from Sam Rosuto, 8326 on YouTube. He said, Jesus, Shirm, chill with the accents. Let Will tell a story. bud good
Starting point is 00:28:47 fuck good you see that one go I didn't either when you hit in accents in the middle of the story I don't know but I'm doing it I'm doing it
Starting point is 00:28:58 and Sam Rizzuto you're right I need to chill on the accidents I really do so Sam I'm very sorry I'm sorry for doing the accents and then we have a Kurdista
Starting point is 00:29:12 one said enough with the Jersey accent Okay, shit. Good. Now I'm second guessing my entire German accident at the top. Yeah, cut it. We just get it out of there. We're losing people.
Starting point is 00:29:26 No Australian accident as well. We did a lot of Italian accents last week. We're done. Do we do a whole bitless episode? What if we did that? Maybe that's what the listeners really want. We should come onto the show one week. Don't do that.
Starting point is 00:29:44 If we just go, hey, this stuff's not too bad. It's actually kind of easy. Christopher Blake says he loves his kid and happy birthday. Will, did you have anything? Happy birthday. What's his name? Christopher Blake. Chris, happy birthday, man.
Starting point is 00:30:03 Everything's good at home too. I'm sure it's kind of easy. Yeah, you know, everything's going swell. Yeah. Go to work. Same routine every day. Yeah. Sometimes I question, I would love to work out a little bit more.
Starting point is 00:30:13 You know what I mean? You'll get to it. Works got his dresses. I hope he's got his stresses at times. What doesn't? How lucky are we? So lucky. Everything went swimmingly with the wife last night.
Starting point is 00:30:23 Yeah, I have zero complaints about what's going on at home because it's not rocket science. It's not rocket science at all. I actually watched House of the Dragon with my wife in bed together last night. Really? Yeah. Do you guys have some good convos during the show or? A ton of great combos. We would pause, not even to talk about the show.
Starting point is 00:30:42 I love you so much. You're so wonderful. Such a great father, Sherman. Thank you, honey. It's actually kind of easy. So I'll take it, but this stuff's easy. And then we went to bed. You make marriage sound so wonderful.
Starting point is 00:30:54 Thank you, dude. But not wonderful because our lives, they're not picture perfect. Again, it's not rocket science. It's not rocket science. It's not rocket science. So maybe they can cut that little segment right there, play that on repeat, and then we'll be good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Anything bad going on in your life with marriage or parenthood? Me? Don't talk about it. Oh. Because how luck here we? No, not at all. Everything's actually really good. Perspective, man.
Starting point is 00:31:20 It's not rocket science. You know who I've actually been hanging out with a lot lately? My dogs can't get enough of them. Yeah? Oh, Wrigley. Riggley's the best. He'll go, he'll do this game where he goes into our closet and he'll go into like the deep corners
Starting point is 00:31:37 and it'll take a shit in the deep corners and then I'll go in there. It's very easy. I'll just clean it up. I'll get, just clean it. It's great. Yeah, I mean, it's not rocket science. No, not at all. Not at all.
Starting point is 00:31:52 How'd that feel? That felt good. That felt good. I felt like shit. I hated it. I'm going to do the accents every soul. I got another one for you that I got lucky on. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:07 Not lucky. No, no, no. Instinct kicked in. And I had to figure it out. What happens? similar situation with the poop on the carpet. Scotty, she's in this phase. I'm sure parents with Scotty's around 20 months,
Starting point is 00:32:20 but now that she understands how the bottle can extract, is that the word extract milk? Yeah. She'll be shaking it and kind of putting it all and stuff. She loves a little spillage in the area she's around. Yeah. And I was, I was watching the World Cup and it was just me and Scotty. Like we're hanging out.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Roo was at a birthday party at this time with, my wife took her to a birthday party. such as me and Scotty she ends up I'm thinking she's messing around I'm trying to watch this the extra time going on in the World Cup
Starting point is 00:32:49 and Scotty ends up getting some milk out all over the wood all over the wood table like not like all over to where it's that noticeable now now again if I'm watching
Starting point is 00:32:59 it is noticeable yeah but streaks and lines and everything else to where I don't see it again once again Willie boy Willie C doesn't see it
Starting point is 00:33:09 which is okay yeah Yeah, I mean, if Tony already came home and saw milk on the wooden table, a day after. The poop streak. Yeah. Or matter of fact, I think that was just the same day because Charles was at work on Sunday more. Yeah, this is the same day. Oh, hours later, sees another thing coming home will.
Starting point is 00:33:28 Yeah. Like, just open your goddamn eyes. It's odd. It's not hard. It's not hard. And I don't know how long we're in there because Scottie and I, we went up to the playroom. And then we, she loves the race where we race wall to wall, ready set go. I'm like color commentating us racing.
Starting point is 00:33:43 So time goes by. I'll say again, probably another 40 minutes. And for whatever reason, I'm picking up Scotty's toys. And then I notice the milk sitting on the wooden table. And I'm thinking, oh, God. So I go over and get something to wipe it up. But I see that it's already starting to sit on the wood. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:34:00 Like those watermarks, you're sitting in pretty good. And so I scrambled to get online. This is a dad hack too. I came across this on old TikTok. Oh. From Google then takes me to tick. talk, but I find this little parent hack out. Okay. Using two white toothpaste to get off milk liquid stains. Oh, on your wood. Okay. When the liquid's starting to settle or it looks
Starting point is 00:34:24 like it's going to settle. Yeah. It was in like it was a dark shadow. Strong borders. I'm like, okay, this is going to sit him. Charles comes home and sees this. What happened here? What? What is this? So I go in and get the toothpaste, get some white toothpaste, and I'm starting to plop it all over the wood. I'm rubbing around my finger like a kid doing arching crafts. And I'm thinking, God, I hope this works. Turns out that shit works. No way. Yes. Dude, dad hack of the century.
Starting point is 00:34:48 And those are the best ones. The ones that come with almost zero credibility where you're like, uh, yeah, I'm so desperate I'll just do it. Yeah. Because you're like, oh my God. I saw one where it's like you can lay a maybe a damp rag down or a rag to where you do like an iron
Starting point is 00:35:04 over top. Yeah, yeah. But then I saw the toothpaste one. I'm like, that one seems fairly easy. The other one seems a little bit more, much more effort. Yeah, yeah. I was going to ask, how many paper towel slices are we talking with this milk spill, like in order to get it up? Just so I can visualize how big it is. Probably that wide.
Starting point is 00:35:27 Oh, wow. And I'm talking, you know, like little, just little iterations of milk danced across this length. So it's probably like a couple like little small like, small puddles. We're talking two sheets of paper towel. Solid two sheets. Maybe a third one to kind of get the last bits. And the woods,
Starting point is 00:35:45 like it's like an old, light wood color to where you could see the dark stain sitting on them. And if it says, dude, because we're a coaster family too. I get caught without a coaster coming to my neck.
Starting point is 00:35:58 That's how they get you. Yeah, sweetheart, you're using a coaster. Oh, I didn't think the glass sweats. Look at your ice water. It's sweating all over the place. You're so beautiful, honey.
Starting point is 00:36:07 Thank you. Oh, my God. I'm an idiot. What a great point. So anyway, that dad hack, low-key soda, that dad win. That is a huge dad win. I had a pretty good dad hack here that I forgot to do last week.
Starting point is 00:36:24 I don't know if anybody saw this on Twitter. Scarlett's birthday photo where she was in the middle of all of her presence. And she was kind of floating there. And she's on top of the kitchen island. Where's dad? Where's dad? No one's there. Where's mom?
Starting point is 00:36:41 Scarlet's just a sweet little baby that stays put whenever you take pictures of her. No, no, no. You're just letting that sweet little young child, one of years old sit by herself on the island? That's what one would think. But actually, I'm hiding behind the gifts. I'm like this and my hands are reaching around the gifts. I'm holding Scarlet in place. If you, um, chef, Zoom, Enhanced.
Starting point is 00:37:07 Zoom enhance, zoom enhance on those hands. We'll do. Dad hack. Dad hack. Stage photo dad hack. Yeah. It's a dub. I thought you were about to say something else.
Starting point is 00:37:20 No, I did too. I'm just staring at you. I'm staring at each other. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah, man. I actually have a written a couple dad hacks coming in from our comment section. Again, you want to be featured on the show?
Starting point is 00:37:31 Drop comments. Peter Shibel. Oh, the tribal family, great family. That hack, if you're dealing with a sleep progression or a newborn feeding schedule and aren't able to get the sleep you want, take a cold shower in the morning. My wife just gave birth to our second child. And with the nighttime feeding every two to three hours, it's been hard to wake up in the mornings. A cold shower is better than any cup of coffee or monster energy drink and gives you the instant awakeness to deal with a dirty diaper,
Starting point is 00:38:02 screaming toddler, or wifey. Come on. It's just a thought of the cold water. I'm with my man. Like we do, I do the cold tubs. I've done the cold showers. Now am I consistent all the time? No, because it's the fuck, do I really want to put myself in this extreme.
Starting point is 00:38:20 And he's saying, why are you bitching? Willie, boy, why are you bitching right now? What are you whining about? I'm trying to give you something of value. It is valuable. High value. If you want a real dad hack, go put your water heater on vacation mode. First two months at the house, we didn't realize our water heater was on vacation mode.
Starting point is 00:38:38 Chris, apologies, brother. I know those showers were cold. Well, everybody welcome Chris to the episode. They weren't like that cold. I will say, okay, now that I'm thinking about it, yeah, the, the, me and my, being my friends, because you told us to all use the downstairs, like, bathroom and the, like, and so we did the shower in there and I think the common consensus was like wow the shower is not very like like there's not a lot of hot water here and do you think it built character Chris yeah I mean it did
Starting point is 00:39:18 build character for us to go take on the day it did help us wake up yeah like we got we would wake up at midnight or not midnight at noon and we would you know go take on the rest of our afternoon but I did notice like I was taking a shower thing the last day and I was like like, man, I don't know if I'd want to live here because of the shower. The shower, I'm a big shower guy. Like, I am too, dude. I feel you. People love showers out there.
Starting point is 00:39:44 No, I'm the hot, steamy. Like, I turn it, crank it all the way up. It's 15 minute minimum hot shower. So I was thinking. You know, Chrysler? Yeah. So, and I'll also say I was listening, the couch is also, it's pretty comfortable to sleep on. Oh, good.
Starting point is 00:40:01 So. It is. It is a good night's sleep. In case you need some, you know, ammunition later or something like the couch is. It is very complex. You need some ammunition late. Thank you, Crisler.
Starting point is 00:40:16 No problem. Thanks, Chris. That's another one too. Maybe burn yourself in the shower. You want to feel alive? Maybe turn it all the way up, dude. Yeah. So wait, Janet.
Starting point is 00:40:31 How long did you live? for you boil some water and put your hand in it. Sheram, how long have you been living here and you didn't realize that you weren't getting hot water? We were getting hot water everywhere except for the shower. So we were like, oh, this is probably something that will somehow resolve itself for the first. It'll pop up. It'll pop up.
Starting point is 00:40:57 So after two weeks, Jill then said, hey, I think. think there's something wrong with our water heater because everything in the house gets hot, minus the shower. I said, she told her that she chose the house. I told her she. I did. I told her.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Oh, sweetheart. Who picked this house? Because I seem to remember it was you. Oh, of course. You want me to take on all the responsibilities when I'm not even going to pick the house. And do you see how ridiculous I said when we put it in that frame as well? Yeah, of course.
Starting point is 00:41:33 but yeah and then for like a solid two weeks I was like oh no honey I put in the work order I put in the work order you was on it I was on it then I finally put in the work order because once we got back from vacay at like the really nice hot showers
Starting point is 00:41:49 in Florida I was like okay it is miserable to shower at our house like it is awful I need to figure this out it was on vacation mode it was like you literally flip a switch so PT fix out there's probably gonna be like sure I don't want to throw anything at you did you check, did you check the water heater?
Starting point is 00:42:05 No, not at all. I didn't check the water heater. That's okay. I'm trying to use the out here. No, no. It was truly something that if I checked the water heater, it's like a flip of a switch. Did not have to pay for the water guy to come out, though,
Starting point is 00:42:20 since it is a rental home. So that is maybe the silver lining there. Yeah, nice. Yeah. You got to get the dubs where you can, man. Yeah, man. I got a, what is it called, an irrigation system? Yeah, deer sprinkling.
Starting point is 00:42:33 system. Leakage there. Nice. So where my water bill is up like, it was pushing a thousand. Good. That's perfect. Right?
Starting point is 00:42:42 That's great. Month one. So when we found it last month, the irrigation, whatever company came out, fixed it when our water bill is like $600. Yeah. Another month goes by.
Starting point is 00:42:55 We checked last week, $1,100. Good. But how excited were you to get to pay that bill. I bet that was sick. We're figuring it out. Yeah, yeah. We're figuring it out. That's great. Because we're like, hey, we thought you guys fixed this.
Starting point is 00:43:14 Yeah. Like, what are we doing? They say, oh, man, it's really, it's not even. We're talking to fucking water bill, man. They said, oh, man, it's really not even that hard. It's actually really easy. We'll come out there and fix it. Yeah. There's a lot of like, uh, some internal anger boiling up inside of me right now. We'll get, we'll get to it.
Starting point is 00:43:36 We'll get to it. These companies, man. Maybe that irrigation guy can be the first dude to come on the pot. Oh, you want to, so you don't want to, you don't pay this water bill, the one that's ran up. When you said you fixed it. You can combat that, though, by the way, that hack. Okay, good. We are.
Starting point is 00:43:57 I was about to say, you can't combat that. We're going after him. Gordon Van Riemann wrote in an email. is a dad hack Gordon says what up fellas long time listener I just wanted to express my unequivocal gratitude for the show as a dad deep in the trenches
Starting point is 00:44:15 with a toddler and a newborn your podcast has been an indispensable phenomenon in my life those are some big words honestly the camaraderie another big word you guys have is unparalleled wow this guy hello hello
Starting point is 00:44:31 now I've got a dad hack that has been an absolute Dude, bro, this is crazy. Is this the one that they wrote for Will? So sorry, run it again. I'd be. I didn't know if this was supposed to hear. The way you're looking at me, I don't know what to think about what's coming next.
Starting point is 00:44:47 I heard that there was a trap for you for pronunciation. Oh, no, that was the German card. Oh, that was the German card? I just wanted to see Will pronounce things in German. You did very well. I've never spoke German ever. Guten talk. I think Gordon Van Riemann got a thesaurus out and he's trying to trip out Will and I
Starting point is 00:45:03 on this. What's he about to hit you with? What's the word? A lot. Oh. There's a lot more. Panacea. Panacea for our household chaos.
Starting point is 00:45:16 I don't even know. P-A-N-A-C-E-A. Panasha? Panasha. That seems about right. Panache. Oh, a panache. No, it's like it's got some panash.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Oh. What is that? I don't know. Now I've got a dad hack. Don't be throwing these words at this. B-T-6. Panacea. Panacea.
Starting point is 00:45:35 Panacea. Panacea. It is a solution, remedy, or cure all that is claimed to solve all problems, cure all diseases, or resolve all difficulties. Let's go. Hey, get ready because there's about 19 more of these. When your toddler is having an inconsolable meltdown, don't try to reason with them. Their prefrontal cortex is basically non-existent. Instead, deploy what I call the
Starting point is 00:46:03 Anomatopoeia Pivot. Onomatopoeia pivot? God damn. He's beating absurd noises. Think Worcestershire sauce commercial level ridiculousness and their little brain short circuit from rage into curiosity.
Starting point is 00:46:20 It worked with remarkable ubiquity in our house. I mean, this is on purpose. This is crazy. 100%. You're probably hoping I was having to read that. Second. hack, the picky eaters stop announcing meals, just silently place a tarkooty board on a low table and walk away from an air of indifference.
Starting point is 00:46:40 Kids are contrarians by nature. The anonymity anonymity of the snack makes it irresistible. It's counterintuitive borderline Machiavellian, but the, Who's right in this? The efficacy is indisputable. Lastly, and most importantly, take care of your wives, boys. Postpartum is no joke.
Starting point is 00:47:10 My wife dealt with some serious acid reflux and exhaustion. And the best thing I did was handled the middle of the night cacophony myself. The middle of the night cacophony myself. So she could sleep. A well-rested mama is worth more than a, uh, ephemeral hour of sleep, you're sacrificing. Be the officiantado of the 3 a.m shift.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Sherm, chef, Derek, and Will. Keep doing what you're doing, boys. You guys are a colloquial, uh, oasis and the otherwise banal wasteland of parenting content. Sincerely, Gordy in Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:47:54 Fuck you, Gordy. Can I, can I burst the bubble real quick? Yeah. I would love Gordy to challenge back if possible. That's two. trillion percent chat gbt because never in the human history of writing has there ever been a space hyphen space humans use comma oh i am seeing that now trillion percent chat gbted this upon further review and said make put really hard words make this the hardest thing that will ever have to
Starting point is 00:48:19 read i handed it to sure that's my guess like he took you to the deep end on that he took me to because you you were so dumbed down chopping each word that i don't even know the substance of what you were even talking about right there. Brother, on three of them, I know that I'm... Like I heard postpartum. Oh, yeah, that's real. But then I kind of lose it because I'm so focused on you. Like, he's just waterboarding you.
Starting point is 00:48:43 He's worderboarding you with these words, man. He's worder boarding me. At that point, I was purely going for pronunciation to where I did not know what I was reading. Does that make sense? I turned off the, hey, I'm going to interpret what I'm reading. No, I'm just going to try and pronunciate, pronounce, these correctly. Yeah, everybody, whoever's tuned into this episode, they have no clue what you just
Starting point is 00:49:06 read. Shout out Gordy. Shout out, ATL, be there later. Oh yeah. They're supposed to be a hack. I don't even know what the hack was. The hack was to make noises like in an onomatopoeia fashion, like, we're just a wire shush, and just say things abruptly. The other one is to place the snacks in a charcutory setting, so it makes them feel like they're an adult and that the charcutor's irresistible. But the first one is just to ramble. your kids so that they get confused when they're crying or something. That would be the yinser way to explain Gordy's email. I like that.
Starting point is 00:49:41 Here's a simple one from Jonathan Jackson. Jonathan. Hey. Through the shockwave with your wife a lot. There, Jackson. There you go. If anyone hasn't done this, they should. Sign up for Dolly Parton's imagination library.
Starting point is 00:49:55 They send out a free book every month for your child. The dad hack is to sign up for the USPS mail tracking app. That way you can see it when it will be in your mailbox. My kids love going to the mailbox and getting a book that is addressed to them. Love what you boys do. Keep up the hard work. P.S. Just got back from a week long vacation on the coast with a two and four-year-old good.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Oh, good. And I stamped that with the Dolly Parton's imagination library. That's where you get the Lama Lama's the little engine that could, a little blue truck, spend it. The little rabbit that's got carrots and he's got to spend it wisely. And his name is Spendit as well? No, oh shit, what's his name? Fuck. It's probably hairy.
Starting point is 00:50:36 Gordy's in my head. Gordy. It probably is Gordy. Hey, in speaking of, dude, you just said her name. I'm blanking. Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton, dude. Can we talk about somebody that is just as undefeated as Dolly Parton? I mean, she does everything.
Starting point is 00:50:52 She does the singing. She does the music. She's got the movies. The movies. She's got a rodeo in Branson. She's got a full-on theme park here. Tennessee. She's got a live show in Vegas that is like the Dolly Parton roundup. She has, we're on the beach in 30A and they do the banner flyover.
Starting point is 00:51:12 Pirate show and dinner at Dolly Parton's Pirate Cove, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, what does Dolly Parton not do? Does it all. She's a boss, dude. She's a boss. Still kicking. Brandon Haynes on Spotify says, great sound fellas. Dad hack for you guys. if you're into the solid food transition phase and have a dog, don't waste that expensive puree when they don't finish.
Starting point is 00:51:35 Grab yourself a Kong toy and fill that thing with the spare food. Bag it, put in the freezer for a nice doggy distraction later on. That's a fantastic count. That's how you flip the Jill whose dogs are the situation as you come home with this one. You say, oh, Scarlett and eat like, hey, let me try this for the dogs that are my dogs, too, that I love. That I love. Our dogs. Let me try this for our dogs.
Starting point is 00:51:59 There you go. Yeah. Yeah. Todd, that's a tough beat, man. That's a tough beat, dude. And you watch Thrones Without Her? Yeah, that's a dragon. Was the episode good?
Starting point is 00:52:14 Yeah, how is the episode? Yeah. It was good. God. I can't wait. It's a good zone. It's a good sound. I can't wait. I have a,
Starting point is 00:52:22 uh, reintroducing the motherfucked moment. I have one right. here. This is actually a solid story. By Wade Counsel. Email, video, and Dropbox. Boys got a mega dad loss and I need
Starting point is 00:52:36 the boys to strap in for this one. I'm from Seward, Nebraska, GBR, and I have a three-year-old boy and a one-year-old girl. My best friend had his bachelor party in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, this weekend. Wonderful spot. And my wife being a true M.T. Sixers that she is, said, take my car. Since it is an SUV and would be
Starting point is 00:52:52 more comfortable for the four of us going together. Side note, the car is four months old. pretty much brand new. Oh, no. Batchar party was great. Boys were bopping and played 36 holes of golf and all the other stuff you can expect from on a bachelor party. Fast forward to Sunday morning as we were checking out of the Airbnb and packing the car.
Starting point is 00:53:10 Reminder, this is in a mountain town where bears are very active and domesticated towards the tourists in the summer. Double reminder. I'm in my wife's new car while she's negotiating with terrorists at home alone. My buddy goes down to start putting suitcases in the car. the trunk and is greeted to a baby bear cub face to face with him in our car. This bear is probably five to six
Starting point is 00:53:33 feet tall and as strong as an ox. The bear jumps out of my buddy obviously freaks out and runs away. I see him run away so I obviously laugh because I think it's funny. Then I see the state of the car. Ruined. Good. Passenger door won't open. Good.
Starting point is 00:53:49 A upholstery on the ceiling ripped apart and shredded. Good. Floorboard completely ripped up. steering wheel bit to hell yeah bear poop and piss all over the golf clubs which smells great as far as mammal piss
Starting point is 00:54:04 we left a sealed can of coffee and some chips in the car and in our drunk state of the bachelor party we must have left the car unlocked bear had a field day and now I'm left with the total car on the inside and a 10 hour road trip in the same car that smells like coffee mixed with piss and shit good
Starting point is 00:54:20 wife is sad obviously but has been making some barely funny jokes all day she gets it Godspeed Boys boomer sooner. Good, great, grand. I texted you guys the video, but it's also in Dropbox for this episode. His wife, I would appear, it could be him too. Made a nice little, like, real about it, but the damage is crazy. Unbelievable. A heat. He ran through this car, bro. Oh, dirty Mike and the boys. Dirty Mike and the Bears came through, man. It really did. Oh, no. Thanks from the Sex Shack. Dirty Mike and the Bears
Starting point is 00:54:59 Thanks for the fuck check Oh God Oh my God Man that's tough Dude four months old too Oh Oh guys Dude that's
Starting point is 00:55:24 That's what too though It's like hey what happened to your car A fucking bear man It's like it No for real what happened A bear. A bear. A baby bear.
Starting point is 00:55:34 A baby bear did all that. Yeah, baby bears are like five, six feet tall. They kill you. Like, yeah. Reminds me a Tommy boy when the deer comes back to life. Yeah. I mean, that truly looks exactly like. Just starts ripping it up.
Starting point is 00:55:50 God, that, I mean, looked like a really nice car too is the saddest part. I mean, four months. Did he say four months ago and brand new car? Is that what he said? Pretty much recent. Four months old, pretty much brandy. Oh my gosh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:06 And what is what you called Geico? You're like, hey, I hope I have my bear insurance. Hope that's covered. Yeah. You buy a new vehicle SUV for the family? Let's get a family vehicle. I got a bachelor party. You mind if I take the whip?
Starting point is 00:56:18 Of course. You and your boys did such a great job of keeping it clean, taking care of it. That could have gone so many different ways. I thought it was going to go so many different ways of fact that mother. nature struck. That stinks. I have a motherfucker moment from Colin Wilson.
Starting point is 00:56:40 Colin says fellas, I'm a proud veteran PT-Sixer, but I'm in trouble and I'm in need of a med kit to stop the bleeding. I've been with my wife since high school. We are now 32. So I know she operates, but I slipped up.
Starting point is 00:56:55 Usually we are hand in hand on the front line battling our three kiddos, but last night I messed up. Right now, I'm standing across the battlefield from MT6 and it feels like I'm alone. No weapons in sight and she's just waiting over there with a full artillery. Colin, I feel the exact same way. My wife is a badass nurse practitioner. She works her ass off and has gone through hell to get where she's at now.
Starting point is 00:57:23 We recently moved to O'Fallon, Missouri. Shout out of O'Fallon. Shout out of Fallon. I went Y'all are twice in O'Fallon. as a young lad. Come on, man. Twice. Twice.
Starting point is 00:57:36 Pancakes, bacon, eggs. Oh. That was the meal I had to come back to the second day. Yeah, come on. For her job, and for the most part, it's been great. But two nights ago, she went on a 45-minute rant. She's screaming and cursing about her job. I could tell that she just needed to get it out, so I just sat there.
Starting point is 00:57:56 Would say the occasional, that lazy bitch, or you're totally right. but just sat there and listen. She used to do this. Those are good moves, Colin. Those are good moves calling. No way. She used to do this a lot at her old job, which is all valid. Last night, she started talking about my sister growing wildflowers
Starting point is 00:58:16 and calling them weeds and all these things. And I was tired last night. I'm in my construction business, not labor or anything, but learning to become an engineer someday. So I'm mentally tired. So I told her, why do you have to be negative? It's exhausting. Oh
Starting point is 00:58:32 Instant silence Yeah Instant silence. Instantly I thought Why would I say that? Why would I fucking say that? Colin and I have a lot in common. A couple minutes goes by
Starting point is 00:58:50 Complete silence. I'm in the middle of packing and doing laundry for our weekend trip and I stop and I apologize for saying that and still silence. We go to bed without talking which is not like her. She likes hash.
Starting point is 00:59:02 things out right away we wake up we're getting ready for work and i apologize again silence this is feeling like foreshadowing for me let's see how it works out for old shirm later today pray for me when i have a three-hour car ride back to illinois tonight and i have a feeling she's going to let the artillery loose silver lining is that i'm going back and listening to old episodes of the pod i'm currently listening to the pod where shirms started to play pub g right after getting into an argument with jillie bean unless I'm at least I'm not that stupid love you shirm you've come a long way keep it up boys Colin Wilson he's gonna be listening to this so you come a long way pause not I'm right I'm back in my bullshit but Colin at least I'm not that stupid is it's crazy that's crazy they does it
Starting point is 00:59:58 even affect me. I'm truly, I'm truly in the mental state where I'm like, Colin's right. Colin's right. What am I doing? Hey, Colin wrote in. Let's think about Colin right now. It's not making it about you, man. Thank you. I know. I desperately need to talk. I desperately need to talk about myself. Dude, it's so, it's tough, dude. It's a reminder for myself, too. Yeah. It's like, dude, you can. get so stressed, whether it's work stress, family stress, kids stress, deadlines, whatever it is. Just those moments where you feel like you can't see past the next five minutes in front of you. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:41 And you just say something offhand that you don't even fucking mean. Yeah. Or maybe like, not that you mean it like you do at the time, but then you get to where you have some time to yourself and you're thinking about it. you're just like, man, I'm not even articulating the thing I'm wanting to articulate in a way that is productive. Because at the end of the day, we, like, you and your wife, like, you share the same goals. Yeah. And you get just caught up in those moments where it's so fucking hard.
Starting point is 01:01:12 If you're lucky, you were able to, like, grab yourself and gain some perspective. I feel, why am I feeling this way? Why am I fucking whining? Why did I say this? Yeah. Gain perspective, then you just get back in it. Yeah. It's, I mean, yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:26 It's like, that's life, right? no it truly is and seeing it from their perspective too yeah to try and view it in a lens of where I would love to go back and redo it but for call and see yeah um like she might not have his wife might not have
Starting point is 01:01:44 anybody else that she feel like she feels like she can let this stuff out right and express how she's feeling so she feels safe with you and in that moment you're like, hey, when you're being vulnerable with me and you feel safe to express your feelings, it's
Starting point is 01:02:03 annoying and exhausting for me. Which that in itself is a difference. Have you guys watched four seasons? You know the part where it's like who's like the nerdy guy? Will Arnett? I think so. Yeah. Remind me of four
Starting point is 01:02:19 seasons? Four seasons is Steve Correll, Will Arnett. It's a really good cast. Tina Faye. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I know. I haven't seen all season two, but season one's beautiful. Yeah. Will Arnett is this. Did you see the most recent season? No, I've watched episode one and Kat and I. There's a moment where it's like Will Arnett and Tina Faye, right?
Starting point is 01:02:35 They're the one in the marriage. Or like Will Arnette, he's like, you know, it's got this like victim type conversation style going on. And it kind of drains Tina Faye. And they're like doing this marathon and running next to each other. And she's just like, basically says like, I don't want to continue. I don't want to like I don't want to like get caught up in your bullshit to
Starting point is 01:02:56 to where I'm, where I feel like it's like, woe is me. And he's like, I'm not, I'm just sharing with you. Like, I'm sharing my life with you because you're the only person I feel like safe with to do so. And there's like a back and forth to where it's like, I resonate with that. So I'm sure Charles feels that way. If I'm woe is me about her, if she's like, what was me to where it's like, dude, let's just fucking, why are we whining about stuff? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:17 But to your point, like, what you're saying, like, what you're trying to articulate as well is like, yeah, that's what that is. is like she's not doing it to everybody else. She's like confiding in you because you just need a little moment to vent. Or if like I'm bitching about something, she might not be in the mood for it, but it's like I'm doing this because I'm just trying to, I'm trying to put my bullshit on you right now.
Starting point is 01:03:40 Yeah. Yeah. I do that a lot as well when I come home. Especially with like stresses that I will encounter throughout the day. I like, you have often said like, hey, you always have a bright, sunny disposition. I do try and maintain that. And I do feel very safe with Jill to express that.
Starting point is 01:04:00 And she does a good job of listening. Thank you, honey. Thank you, sweetheart. Thank you, sweetheart. I don't know where I'm going to go. Good luck to my man on that car ride. Yeah, Colin. You.
Starting point is 01:04:13 That's the A gap. That is the A gap. At the end of the day, dude, you're going to get home. You love your wifie. Your wifie loves you. And you are going to solve it. And it might not be a super short fix and, hey, we're all done. Like, it might be a full on sit down, hash them out.
Starting point is 01:04:31 And what y'all solve in that moment might not even be what that ultimate issue was. Right. You might uncover some even better, more beautiful stuff that will bring y'all even closer. Yeah, the ultimate issue usually comes after both separate for a second and then come back for that next conversation. It's like, hey, I was a little, I was fucked up for treating you that way. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. PT sickos, we interrupt this episode to bring you Rose Sparks.

Crack a cold one. Crack a cold one. Let's get some positive vibes. Like, we're all like, we're just having the PTSD, the bombs going on. Like, like,
Starting point is 01:07:58 Scarley is very close to walking. Of course, crack a cold one is brought to us by Olipop. We love Olipp. Always brought us by Olypop. Come on. Um, but yes,
Starting point is 01:08:10 she's getting very close to walking. She is ripping her walker. She is able to turn in her walker. Um, which is honestly a sight, a sight to see. Uh, I'm not gauging her athletic ability
Starting point is 01:08:24 off of her ability to do the walker, but more so each new like iteration of it, you'd like get this excitement of, you can't help but think they got it. I was just about to say, damn, kids kind of got it. That's literally what goes through my brain. Kids kind of got it.
Starting point is 01:08:42 You're like, am I taking crazy pills right now? Because I think I see something. I want to tell people. But then it's like, okay. Honey, she ran into the wall. There's no way that she could have, push the walker any further into the wall. So she goes, hey, maybe I could turn this.
Starting point is 01:08:56 She turned like 30 degrees. And then she was still bumping the wall. She was still scraping a bit, but she was able to keep going. You had to see it. Yeah. It was incredible. Yeah. God, I feel that, man.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Sweet, are you see that? Yeah. I'll send you a video chef of, uh, we got a golf set for Scarlett. Obviously, you're supposed to hold a golf club. a certain way. You're supposed to swing a certain way. Scarlett quite literally is out there with the golf club just like
Starting point is 01:09:26 not holding it right at all and like kind of just went on the golf ball. Whoa! Hey! Honey, you did it. But she didn't really. But she kind of got something like to pinpoint, have that pinpoint accuracy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:43 Something to look out for in the future, man. Yes, man. But that's why I crack a cold one. My crack a cold one. what do we got here my quick kreca cole is just to rue i think ru is just a wonderful big sister she is so sweet to scotty sometimes scotty piss her off i tell the stories all the time of scotty hitting her and now they don't the moments where they're not getting along but rue is just so good with scotty yeah like charro um she was working sunday sunday morning and scotty
Starting point is 01:10:18 was sleeping in, thank God. Rue and I are hanging out downstairs and Scotty wakes up on the monitor and Rue is just all about just being a part of it like helping. Like Daddy, can you get the milk? I get the milk. It's just like, set it right here on the corner of the island. I'm going to go, I got to do this real quick and I'll take the milk up
Starting point is 01:10:34 to Scotty. She takes the milk, she hears Scotty crying and goes up to Scotty. I was like, oh hi Scotty girl. Are you okay? Are you sad? And I'm just listening to him on the monitor. And she's like, oh my gosh, you're you're awake. Do you want to hug and Scotty just leans over the crib and they just kind of do like a cheek to cheek kind of hug for a
Starting point is 01:10:56 moment and it's amazing ru climbs up and gets in the crib with her they're like smiling and having fun ru's like you know scotty's still kind of like waking up so she's like laying on her side and ru's just like leaning forward to her like whispering to her sweet nothing's yeah asking about her did you sleep good you want me take your sleep sack off take sleep Get Bell Pure Fiber Internet with Crave Netflix and Disney Plus from $94 a month. Starting point is 01:12:20 I'm Yamanika, and I'm out. Listen to you're the problem with Yamanika on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm Nick Tuturo. You probably know me from NYPD Blue, the longest yard, or Spike Least Black Klansman.
Starting point is 01:12:39 But I'm also from Queens, which means I know pizza. And on my new podcast, delivering happiness with Nick Totoro, I deliver pizza from Prince Street Pizza to a new guest. Are you delivering pizza? Then we sit down for a real conversation. I've shared a slice with everyone from Seth Rollins.
Starting point is 01:12:55 What are you doing, my belt? To Alex Rodriguez. Just to let you people know, we're talking to one of the goats here. To Bill Burr. I don't think I've ever met somebody so exactly out of their mind as I am. And now, we even have more great guests coming up, including the great John Titoro. It's called happiness. Delivering happiness.
Starting point is 01:13:14 Mariano Rivera. Oh, my God. And many, many more. Open your free high heart radio app. Search Delivering Happiness with Nick Duturo. And listen now. I'm Jake Brennan, and on the Disgraceland podcast, I explore the wild lives of rock stars
Starting point is 01:13:29 and unbelievable true crime stories from music history. These are the stories you haven't heard, the kind you'll end up telling someone else. Like the time Paul McCartney spent in one of the world's most notorious prisons. Imagine that. You're Paul McCartney. It's 1980.
Starting point is 01:13:47 You're an ex-beetle. And you're doing time in one of Japan's worst prisons right there alongside Yakuza gangsters and for a ridiculous charge. Or the bizarre crime Lady Gaga is accused of. Who is the artist Lady Gaga as being accused of doing the unthinkable to after allegedly stealing her music in style to become famous? And what about that time, Blondie's Debbie Harry escaped a serial killer? The man who had given her that ride she barely escaped from was Ted Bundy.
Starting point is 01:14:23 Listen to Disgraceland on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Keepsack off. They're just jiving, bro. Bro, that's unreal. Yeah, and it's cool. So that's what my cracker cold one goes to. Like, Roo's just phenomenal. They're, uh...
Starting point is 01:14:40 We're very lucky that she's got, like, this, like, kind heart to where she's, like, she thinks about Scotty. She's into Scotty. Yeah. there's a my mom will call me and talk about the show yeah just a little stories that she likes and every time you talk about ruse interaction uh interactions with scotty she's like that just reminds me so much of uh how your brother was like when you were little just like how pro big bro he was and how much he wanted to be your big brother and how sweet he was to you and she was like that's not every day like not every day like not every older sibling is like that willing to be a good big sister big brother um but yeah that's that's bad ass dude yeah man we we we feel very lucky getting to hear overhear that too on the camera like does she know that you can hear her do you think she's no i don't think she's like aware like she knows
Starting point is 01:15:39 like this morning she was yelling in scuddy's room and i had the monitors on still downstairs so she could like hear the echo from the monitor and she's like playing with it and like yelling stuff. She knows if she wakes up and she might think about it, like, oh, they're on the camera. Yeah. But she doesn't, she's not thinking about it like that. That's what makes it that much more sweet is that that is Rue's heart on full display.
Starting point is 01:16:01 She's not putting on a performance for anybody. She's alone in that room with her little sister. And that's how she feels in that moment and wants to treat her little sister. And you're getting to be a fly in the wall. Like, that's cool, dude. I'll tell you what if she was that manipulative. It's if you're dealing with a demon who can think on their feet like that at four?
Starting point is 01:16:21 Let me get in. Let me get in the cribby. Yeah, all right. Once I hit the corner here, the camera's going to be on me. Oh, Scotty, I love you. Then instantly come down.
Starting point is 01:16:31 Daddy, can I have a cookie? Yeah, honey, of course. Such a good big sister. What else do we have, man? I have a survival quit. Survival quit. A survival kit, very quick.
Starting point is 01:16:46 the push car toy those red cars they make them in red blue pink like the old school like the handle kind of comes up it's a black handle that's curved yeah i was seeing them all over the place and i was like dude i'm done with taking scarlet on walks and her nanit or her duna i want to put her or sorry nanit nuna her duna i want to put her in um her pink car i want to put her like in a little push card toy for walks. She has enjoyed them so much. She was already enjoying walks. She's loving her walks even more now. But bonus hack, young parents with young kids, you probably sit in your kitchen when you get home,
Starting point is 01:17:35 wife's maybe cooking dinner, you're cooking dinner, and somebody's got to entertain the kid. They're hungry, they're tired. It's the end of the day. They don't really want to play with their toys. It's kind of that little pocket where like the chaos starts to build.
Starting point is 01:17:49 What can we find to entertain our child? That push car inside, dude, game over. Game over. And we got a little racetrack around our sofa. Nice. It's such a hack, dude. So put that in your survival kid. One that I'm thinking about, my boy, Nikki, Nick Hallett, he's got one of these.
Starting point is 01:18:09 But what I'm looking at is hot summer. It's like how other things, you don't want to get in the pool all the time. Yeah. Just having something for them to play with, like outside, being outside, getting out of the house, doing something outside, or one of those water shelves, water shelves where it's like it's like this interactive, like, you know, it's got, it's like this, is it a shelf? Water table.
Starting point is 01:18:30 Water table is what it's called. What is it? It's where you just fill it, you take a hose, you fill it up with water. It's got all these little toys where they're outside playing like in the water. Dude. It's like this water table where it's like interactive and they have all these things to play with. Yes. And something simple, something easy.
Starting point is 01:18:44 There's little floaty pieces inside. of the table that they can smack but it's not flying. Yeah, little buckets that tip that are already set up. Yes, dude. Something like that. I feel like that'd be a good spend on Amazon. Good spend.
Starting point is 01:18:58 That's such a good spend. And also shout out Bluey, another survival kit that I just saw on a Bluie episode. Those old school slip and slides, dude, like the $12 ones, it's just the tart. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:11 That would be so sick, especially during the summer. Yeah. Just throwing it out there. Just throwing it out there. Just trying to add a survival kit. Oh, yeah. Any dads on the up?

Starting point is 01:25:11 Listen to You're the Problem with Yamanica on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm Nick Tuturo. You probably know me from NYPD Blue, the longest yard, or Spike Least Black Klansman. But I'm also from Queens, which means I know pizza. And on my new podcast, delivering happiness with Nick Totoro, I deliver pizza from Prince Street pizza to a new guest. Are you delivering pizza now? Then we sit down for a real conversation. I've shared a slice with everyone from Seth Rob.
Starting point is 01:25:44 What are you doing my belt? To Alex Rodriguez. Just to let you people know, we're talking to one of the goats here. To Bill Burr. I don't think I've ever met somebody so exactly out of their mind as I am. And now we even have more great guests coming up, including the great John Tuturo. It's called Happiness, Delivering Happiness. Mariano Rivera.
Starting point is 01:26:03 Oh, my God. And many, many more. Open your free High Heart Radio app. Search Delivering Happiness with Nick Tutro. And listen now. I'm Jake Brennan. On The Disgraceland podcast, I explore the wild lives of rock stars and unbelievable true crime stories from music history. These are the stories you haven't heard, the kind you'll end up telling someone else.
Starting point is 01:26:26 Like the time Paul McCartney spent in one of the world's most notorious prisons. Imagine that. You're Paul McCartney. It's 1980. You're an ex-beetal. And you're doing time in one of Japan's worst prisons right there alongside Yakuza gangsters. and for a ridiculous charge. Or the bizarre crime, Lady Gaga, is accused them.
Starting point is 01:26:51 Who is the artist Lady Gaga as being accused of doing the unthinkable to after allegedly stealing her music in style to become famous? And what about that time, Blondie's Debbie Harry escaped a serial killer? The man who had given her that ride she barely escaped from was Ted Bundy.
Starting point is 01:27:11 Listen to Discraseland on the I-Heart Radio Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Morning. Dude. With this brand new baby girl. I got up sort of on the pod during his baby shower and he is now PT6 official. P.S. Chase Daniel is a household name even to my four-year-old and I hate this side with the Oscar.
Starting point is 01:27:31 But Apple Crisp is already, already has a place in Canton and number five was straight disrespectful. Just a straight to Chase Dean. Just a straight from a fellow MICZOU. Dude, fuck you, Chase. Oh, goodness. Voicemails? Voicemails. Let's rip them. We got some voicemails.
Starting point is 01:27:51 You want to call in, Vint, share a win, a loss, anything that your heart desires. Six and one, the dads. And we also read emails. 601 the dads at gmail.com. We'll read those after these voicemails. This first one is titled, I'm jacked about fish. Hey, this is Tyler from Idaho. PT 60
Starting point is 01:28:16 2 kiddos The 3 year old No 1 year old I got to tell you about my potty training story We got given a fish tank And we said Hey once my 3 year old girl Poops on the toilet
Starting point is 01:28:32 We'll go get a fish from the pet store Well after about Three weeks of this filled fish tank With no fish in it Finally dad got tired of looking at this empty tank and said, well, I took a poop on the toilet. Dad's going to get a fish.
Starting point is 01:28:50 So I went and got a fish with the kiddos, and I tell you what, we got home. The wife saw it. She said, oh, he's lonely. We need to go get some more. So we got five more. Had a tank full of six. And it said, hey,
Starting point is 01:29:05 we should get another fish tank. So we got another fish tank. And then I wanted to put up a beer picture in my little boy's room and the wife hates that deer picture and so we compromised and I'm going to put the
Starting point is 01:29:21 deer picture away and I'm going to get myself a 110 gallon goddamn fish tank for the living room that the wife is okay so any of you P2 sickos joined the fish club
Starting point is 01:29:36 let me know I'm jacked about fish that's all I can think about I got fish swimming in my head 24-7. Anyways, love the show. Keep it going. See ya. Anybody out there is fish.
Starting point is 01:29:52 Let him know. Let him know. Please. He's jacked about fish. Please in the comments. If you have a fish, please in the comments, let us know how many fish you have and what type of fish, please. He's juiced about fish right now.
Starting point is 01:30:07 Let's go, Tyler. That is instantly in my top two. And it might not be two. Two voicemails that we've got. We've had some good ones. We've had some good ones, but that energy. The fact that he rolled in and said, yes, I was going to hang a deer fish or a deer picture up, so we compromise. So we're getting a third fish.
Starting point is 01:30:25 Literally was like, let me guess. Fish tank. Yeah, 10 gallon fish tank. 100. 110. Wait. That's crazy. Wait, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:36 Now I'm thinking. How big is this fish tank? Tyler. A 110 gallon fish tank? It's a big fish tank. That's a big fish tank. Oh, my gosh. 10-gallon fish tank.
Starting point is 01:30:48 That's 100, one of them, Johns. Them like cabin. Oh, okay, okay. But still large, large fish tank. Yeah, there's an ecosystem. Yeah. Let's go, Tyler. Shut out Tyler, man.
Starting point is 01:30:59 Thank you for the voice. Yeah. You know what, Daddy took a shit. Let's go get a fish. Oh, it's lonely. Let's get friends. Let's get friends. Speaking of taking shits,
Starting point is 01:31:10 this one is titled, Thumb Up My Ass. Nice. Boys, first time caller. Heading back to the hospital after spending a day and a half there, my wife absolutely going through it all at the C-section emergency, and she nailed it, crushed it. I was just sitting there with my thumb up my rear end, but, you know, so proud of her.
Starting point is 01:31:35 We were surprised throughout the pregnancy, not knowing what it was. It turns out I'm joining you guys doing the old girl dad. So when we got back to the room, I had a regular Papa Team 6 hat standing there to drill that hat sitting there. It was like I was picking the chop off college where I was going to go next. Grab that girl with her in my hand, threw it on my head with the happiest moments of my life. But I just call on to thank you guys in your podcast and preparing me and enjoying me, expecting what, you know, the do's the don'ts, the good, the bad, as I like to call it, embrace it.
Starting point is 01:32:14 and the suck, getting ready for it. And I'm looking forward to those late nights, early mornings, 3 a.m. wake-ups doing dad shit and taking care of business so she can sleep and heal up. Just thank you guys for everything. Keep up. I can't wait to keep listening to you guys.
Starting point is 01:32:31 Let's go, man. Let's go. Congrats. Don't talk about her dogs. Don't about your wife's dogs. Don't bring up the dogs. For God's sakes. And watch your favorite show with her. Don't watch it alone. Baby Beach Hacks.
Starting point is 01:32:46 And this is actually kind of big because another guy wrote in. We'll play this and then I'll do the ride in that I got. Gentlemen, what's going on? This is Sam from New York. So the lady and I are our last vacation
Starting point is 01:33:02 before our beautiful little girl comes in August. We're big beach people. You know, we go up to the beach, hanging out. I guess my question is, what are some beach, some beach hacks for the little ones?
Starting point is 01:33:16 Because when I go, it's, you know, I bring a chair, I bring a 12-pack, and I bring a sandwich. And everything else kind of doesn't matter, you know? Maybe some sunscreen, you know, maybe some sunscreen. But, yeah, I need some beach hacks because I can't be going into this blind. You know, I got to have some intel. I got some recon. Yeah. But I would love to hear your thoughts.
Starting point is 01:33:45 Love the show. appreciate you fellas PT sick oh out does he just have one he just needs some bee chacks does he have one kid do he oh I do not know I would assume based off the conversation that this is a nine month old
Starting point is 01:34:00 I believe is what he said yeah yeah nine month old they need some bee chacks umbrella boom big towel boom to play on he's got the 12 pack
Starting point is 01:34:14 get her some apple juice Get her some of her favorite drinks. Got out the pouches. Make a little sandwich for her. Make a little sandwich. You're going to need a portable cooler. Yeah. And I'm talking the soft shell coolers.
Starting point is 01:34:27 Something you can strap over the shoulder because you're not going to be able to have a buddy or attack team to do your regular hard shell cooler that takes two people to carry. Yeah. Buying some seashells ahead of time. Again, not knowing exactly. Yeah. Oh, yeah, playing them around.
Starting point is 01:34:46 Like, oh, my God, you found the seashell. Will, that's really, really, really good, dude. Like, obnoxiously, really cool, big seashells that would not be there. Yeah. And you just celebrate, like, they're about to enter the Seashell Hall of Fame. Will, that's really good. I found that one somewhere. I don't know where.
Starting point is 01:35:02 Let's go. Do what? I was at the beach once, and I was a kid, and everyone kept tripping over the sea show, and I dug it up, and it was a full-on con show. Oh, no. Yeah, I mean, it does. happen for sure. Because I read about this hack made a long time ago, but you may have to call it. I'm going to call my mom. Dude, I literally, people were like kicking and be like,
Starting point is 01:35:23 what is this? What is this? And I dug it up. And it was like the greatest thing I've ever. It's the size of that football, bro. You just broke my like, you never realized. No, because genuinely we found another one that was all gross and broke down the beach that had to that one was real. Yeah, then maybe it was real. That one sounds like it's native. Okay, okay. But it's like, think, think about you're trying to get your little, you're trying to get your little one into seashell hunting. You say, like, oh, let's go look for seashells. And you're trying to get them invested.
Starting point is 01:35:53 Yeah. Unless you've already scouted the area, know there's a bunch of seashells. You could be on a beach where there's not a lot of seashells. So you buy some, throw them around, get them bought in. Oh my gosh. Go show mom. Take them back to mom.
Starting point is 01:36:06 Yes. And honestly, Deke, you, you know, figure out with mom and dad. And then if you need to come back and unpack this, safe space safe space safe space what was the other thing I was going to say
Starting point is 01:36:21 oh Jill got a maybe 20 something dollar tent 30 something dollar tent off Amazon and type in like baby size tent and we set that puppy up
Starting point is 01:36:34 on the beach that was killer yeah smooth smart that was killer somebody tweeted these ones out to us because some beaches can't have the four leg tents
Starting point is 01:36:42 they're now becoming illegal because they're now becoming illegal because they can get caught by the wind and go down. So there's these like two-plag long, banshee-looking things that appear to be the solution for that because our beach just banned the four-leg tent. Deak, those were everywhere in 30A and they're sick. Shout out Matt Webb.
Starting point is 01:37:00 Shared it with us on X. Shout out Matt Webb. If your little one loves the sand, make sure you get the sunscreen on before you go to the beach. Before you go to the beach. Hey, you just went two for two, good sir. I'm just trying to think of all the things it kind of like are a pain in the ass
Starting point is 01:37:15 where I'm like, I should have put sunscreen on before she wants to get out of playing the sand to where you know how this sand gets all sticky to the body and stuff. Bless. Yes. I got one for a little boys.
Starting point is 01:37:28 Please. Make sure full sandcastle making equipment. Yeah. I think it's a given. And then every kind of different ball you can think of. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:37 Football frisbee, can jam out there if you want. Shout out dime lap. They make a waterproof ball. Shout out Dynlab. Shout out. No free shout out. Those are easy ones, but that's like... And if they love, like, operating around the beach, like in the sand, like, in the sand,
Starting point is 01:37:50 like getting your ass in there and digging a hole. That was a big one that I did for Scotty on this past trip down to 30A. He's digging a hole myself. So then she's just, you know, she's just busy. She's a busy body down there. Yes, dude. And if they allow you to, because some beaches will let you do fires, like y'all have that fire pit out there. Smoors, dude, late at night when the cool air starts rip and bring some blend.
Starting point is 01:38:13 Extra blankets. Extra blankets. Then you're cooking, dude. And maybe a rotating blanket too. And now you get them on the way. You get them on the blanket. The sand gets off. You're trying to have the sandwich.
Starting point is 01:38:29 You're trying to enjoy the lunch. Sand's kind of getting around everywhere. Like, oh, how do we not get all the sand stuck to us? Get it out. Maybe a rotating blanket. And now what is a rotating blanket? The rotating blanket. Like get it in the rotation.
Starting point is 01:38:41 You take out another blanket. Whip it down. Move them onto there. multiple blankets. There we go. Okay, okay. Maybe. Maybe.
Starting point is 01:38:47 We haven't done that. I'm just trying to think like what's a... I like the terminology of rotation blanket. That makes it sound official. You got to let them know, hey, something's going to happen here. Stuff's going to hit the fan. Yep. Next man up mentality.
Starting point is 01:38:59 We have rotation towels for Scarlet like post-bath time. Yeah. Because towel from the night before it, that's now the towel that dad as or mama sits on while we get bathy. You know what I'm saying? Rotation towel. I got a new name for it Um
Starting point is 01:39:16 polar hack Instead of ice packs We use frozen water bottles So eventually they turn into consumable water bottles Nice That's a chip original Chip
Starting point is 01:39:25 Yeah Shut up chip That's it That do not sleep on the hack So you can't do anything with The water You then get the water Don't sleep on that hack
Starting point is 01:39:35 That is a good one That's applicable to anything dude Um A bonus tip somebody had written they are season ticket holders to west virginia they are going to be taking their seven or eight month old to a west virginia football game this coming season they had asked for any hacks since we took scarlet at four months i would say must must must must is earbuds and then all the other centrals obviously you're taking everything that you would bring in your
Starting point is 01:40:09 diaper bag, but earmuffs and then some toys. Because you might think the football game's fun. They might not, but they sure do like their toys. Bonus hack, good bonus hack. Good bonus hack. Thank you, sir. Yeah, of course. Emails.
Starting point is 01:40:27 Dude, let's get in. Let's dive in. I have a fresh one right here from Justin Keel. Oh, Justin. My son Briggs, five years old, was in a side-by-side accident with my niece Cassidy, who is 16 years old on June 29th. Both were unconscious, but by the grace of God, a county worker happened to be passing by her home and witnessed the accident. My God. They were both transported to George Regional Hospital. Cassidy is stable and back home.
Starting point is 01:40:55 Although she has lots of cuts and bruises, she's recovering and dealing with a lot of pain. Briggs was transported to the USA Trauma Center with small... a rib fracture, two spinal fractures, a small fracture in his right pelvis and hip, a hematoma in his kidney, and severe road rash on his face, chest, back, and pelvis. Less than 48 hours after the accident, he was up walking with the help of a walker and some encouragement from Rainey, the physical therapy dog. Fast forward one week, his road rash is completely healed. He starts physical therapy this week, and he even stood up on his own with no assistance. That kid is a stud and way tougher than his old man.
Starting point is 01:41:41 Since all this happened, we have an even greater respect for parents raising children with disabilities. Keep doing what you guys are doing. The podcast encourages me to embrace the good mentality. I don't have to. I get to. P.T. Sicko out. Justin, I appreciate you right in, man. I can only imagine.
Starting point is 01:41:58 That's got to be so hard. So tough, man. And how lucky is Briggs to have a parent like Justin? Yes, dude. And Briggs is an absolute. stud, as his dad mentioned in the email, 48 hours later being up and moving with the walker. And dude, just shout out all those workers that are dealing with these trauma kids
Starting point is 01:42:24 and pouring into them, supporting them, having stuff like the dogs in there to like bring up morale. It's just awesome. Yeah, man, heart goes out to Cassidy as well. Oh, yeah. I'm assuming the side-by side-by-side accident with. my niece Cassidy, assuming Cassidy was the one. Cassidy's good? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:42:42 It says a lot of cuts and bruises. She's recovering. She's recovering well and dealing with a lot of pain. Okay. Yeah, shout out the whole fam. I'm sure that that is very scary. And we're glad everyone's good. Video 4 and Dropbox if you'd like to see him walking with his walker. Oh, let's go. Oh, dude. And you got the support dog right there. Rainy, the support dog.
Starting point is 01:43:08 It's done. let's go buddy that's yeah man oh man i know that was scary as hell goodness briggs you are the man rainie's the man cassie you are awesome glad everyone's okay yeah 100% um sad alert dustin whitlock um this is dustin wiglock uh writing in he is currently fighting cancer uh he is from florida uh he's giving credit to his absolute sicko of a brother um um So his brother is actually fighting cancer. Sorry. Around Christmas last year, my college roommate slash teammate called to catch up like we always
Starting point is 01:43:54 do every couple of weeks and said he thought he might have crones and was going to the doctor to get checked out. Fast forward to the end of January, he called me on the day of our district championship trying to win our first one in 25 years to see how I felt about the game and what our odds were. After about five minutes talking about the game, he told me he didn't want to distract me. but wanted to let me know that he had just left the doctor's office and found out that he didn't have crones, but he had stage 3B colon cancer and would have to have surgery to remove the tumor and start chemo
Starting point is 01:44:30 to fight it once the surgery was done. This absolute sicko told me not to worry about it and not to call him back if we didn't win. My boy, Scotty P. is a husband, a father to two of the most adorable little girls, and also the head football coach at his alma mater. Not only is he fighting and beating cancer, but he is still leading his football program in summer workouts, youth camps, and team camps all while going through chemo
Starting point is 01:44:57 and all the struggles that come with it. This guy has won courage awards, been in newspaper articles, and even had a feature in a magazine, but all he says is he's under, he is undeserving because people get up, up every day and go work in fields where they might not make it home while all he's doing is living with cancer i told him one day we'll be standing in the back uh at our kids weddings i have
Starting point is 01:45:26 two boys same age as his girls laughing about how he beat cancer um he beat cancer's ass and live to tell the tell while he hates the attention he's getting i wanted to send this to you guys to get the rest of pt6 nation sending teas and peas to this absolute sicko of a dad husband, brother, and coach. Appreciate everything you guys do and love the pod. This is Dustin Whitlock with his boy, Scotty P. And they're fam. That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:46:00 Shout out Scottie P, man. Dude, shout out. That's got to be extremely challenging to not only go through that, but to lead others while you're going through. Yeah. To be a good leader. you had to continue to show up just overall like not
Starting point is 01:46:18 think about yourself yeah dude which is you have every reason in the world to right yeah dealing with cancer going through chemo yeah and two kids at home I think you said two girls to be strong for them
Starting point is 01:46:34 to be strong for wife to be strong for the whole apparatus of the school that you're at for those teachers that work alongside you the students that just know you the kids that are on teams that you coach. There's a lot of people looking up to him.
Starting point is 01:46:51 So to not only be going through that, but to also keep on being a leader, a good one at that. Shout out, Scotty Pee. It sounds like a man that's very connected to his why, which his why sounds like everybody else. Yeah. His team, his family.
Starting point is 01:47:10 Yes. You know what I mean? Somebody that's clearly an example. to others as well. Yes. Extremely selfless. Extremely selfless. Dude, shout out Scottie P.
Starting point is 01:47:22 Shout out Scottie P. The fact that we get to read stuff like that and that people like Scottie P even remotely indulge in the show, humbling and awesome. Yeah. And you have a very good friend in Dustin. Goes with that.
Starting point is 01:47:36 He's just proud of his guy, man. Yes. He's just proud of his dude. Scotty P. St. Dustin, why would you do that, man? Honestly, Scott, Probably P is probably going to be a little piss. He's going to be like, dude, what the hell?
Starting point is 01:47:48 And Dustin's going to be like, good old man, dude. I love you. That's awesome. Yeah. Do you have a lesson? I have a quote from a Husker. Do you want to guess who the Husker is before? Tom Osworn.
Starting point is 01:48:02 That was a really good guess. It is Warren Buffett. The Oracle. The Oracle. I don't know if you can say he's a Husker. Tilly opens up that book. I was just about to say. I didn't know that.
Starting point is 01:48:14 but what are we doing? Yeah, until he opens up that book for that NIO. Dude, he's a bigillionaire. He, GBR's just like you. Dude, if I had that Buffet money, dude, you already know. But there's a reason he has that Buffet money, you know what I'm saying? Because he buffets it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:48:38 But if I buffeted it, yeah, yeah, yeah. And you're Willie C, you know it's going to. of the Scurs. Oh, yeah. Come on. A nice chunk. Well, it would even be considered a nice chunk. It'd be a considered a nice chunk for the scurs. Yeah. Not for the baguillionaire Warren Buffett. Not for the Oracle. No, man. This also comes from Nathan Mattson. Deke gave me the great idea of pulling a quote from there's a section in the Discord, the For the Dad's Discord. There's lessons in quotes of the week and Nathan Mattson, who's on our Discord, submitted this Warren Buffett quote. It reads, measure your success in life by how many of the people you want to have love you. Sorry,
Starting point is 01:49:27 let me restart. Measure your success in life by how many of the people you want to have love you actually do love you. It's a good quote. Thank you. All I'm thinking is does he's not with the Husker, does he not want Husker Nation to love him? Willie. Willie boy. Also, East season. Also shout out Uncle Tanner.
Starting point is 01:49:53 I feel like the uncles and the funcles don't get a lot of shoutouts on the show. I went to Atlanta for the Rangers Braves game. And a lot of people were popping tops in the outfield
Starting point is 01:50:08 and throwing shirts over their head to get on the big screen, mostly kids. And this one kid goes, Uncle Tanner, take your shirt off so you get on the board. And he said it loud enough, the bunch of drunk fans behind us heard it. And they go, yeah, Uncle Tanner, take your shirt off, Uncle Tanner. And then people all around us are going, Uncle Tanner,
Starting point is 01:50:29 became a thing. Uncle Tanner popped his top. And he stood up there and he threw that shirt around his head. And he made his nephew's day doing it. made his brother laugh too, who I'm guessing is the father. He did not get on the board, but Uncle Tanner became a legend that day. Because after he popped his stop, there were Uncle Tanner to claps for at least like 10 more minutes. That's a great shout out.
Starting point is 01:50:58 It was legendary. Local legend. There's like a lore behind it because he didn't get on the big screen. There's a lore behind Uncle Tanner. And if that is your Uncle Tanner, if you know Uncle Tanner out there, shout out Uncle Shout out Uncle Tanner. If you know Uncle Tanner, shoot him a message. Shout out you, Uncle Tanner.
Starting point is 01:51:16 Uncle Tanner, dude. We got to get him. I actually want to find him so we can give him my uncle hat. That was the whole point of bringing out. BWTB.com. Wtb.com. BWTB.com. Take out the trash.
Starting point is 01:51:28 Can we do one shout out to? I believe one of you guys has an email from a guy named Brady Daily. The only reason I want to shout this out, it should be in your PT Sicko Community section. This dude has been putting in shadow government work for our Strava for PT fit. Oh. So it's a nice note.
Starting point is 01:51:44 He's been reaching out a ton just to let us know what's going on in it. But a cool little pocket community we have. We have 48 PT sickos in our Strava app currently. What's the Strava app? Trax your workouts. Any running you can do with Strava. You can sync it with Spotify. And so it's a full workout app where it's a community base.
Starting point is 01:52:02 So everyone in the PT Sicko Strava can see the other dads working out. No shit. Tiles, how far they run. And sorry to, I know. you have an email with it. They just today synced it up with the Discord. So now all the Discord guys can put their Strava into the PT Fit community. So now everyone that's in the PT Fit Strava app and the Discord are together in this app. So everyone's working out together. That's badass. It's bad ass. It's badass. He, so bonus shout out from Deke about Brady Daily,
Starting point is 01:52:33 who has a bonus bonus shout out to some of his boys. I'm going to rip some of these. they're on the Strava app. Cody Cox. He's never met him, but he's his dog. Matt Covington, Mike Farr, Kyle Lang, Mark Gouche, Max King, Brandon Pimentel,
Starting point is 01:52:52 Pimentel, James Plato, and Kevin Cleary. Love what you guys are building. Thanks for bringing a bunch of dads together to become healthier husbands, better fathers, and better men. Also, shout out to his best friend Blake and his wife, Michaela,
