Hosted by Will Compton–NFL Vet, creator of Bussin' With the Boys, and proud dad of two. This show isn’t about expert advice and how fatherhood is the greatest thing on earth—it’s about embracing the love and suck of parenthood every day. From balancing work and family to battling the mental load, fears, and the moments that wreck you in the best way, we dive into it all with honesty, vulnerability, and a sense of humor. Cause at the end of the day... us dads have no idea what we're doing. Alongside Will is his producer Sherman Young, a recently new father who’s currently deep in the trenches of Fatherhood and loving every minute of it. Together, they’ll break down everything that can go right and wrong (...usually wrong) when you bring tiny humans into this world. Expect funny parenting stories, laughs, call-ins, advice, weekly themes, and the kind of conversations you’d have over a cold beer in the garage. Whether you’re raising teens or still Googling “how to install a car seat”, For the Dads is the ultimate podcast for dads who are in it, about to be in it, or just trying to do their best while screwing it up along the way. ----- FOLLOW THE BOYS Instagram: / Forthedadspod Twitter: / Forthedadspod Facebook: / Forthedadspod TikTok: / Forthedadspod LISTEN iTunes: http://bit.ly/BWTB_Apple Spotify: http://bit.ly/BWTB_Spotify ----- LUCY : LUCY is the only pouch that delivers long lasting, on demand flavor. My wife might not have felt it, but I was, I was putting my foot down at dinner a little bit last night, pre-dinner.
Pre-dinner.
And again, maybe not the most confidence in the world to where my wife knew that I was actually putting my foot down.
But when she listens to this pod, she's going to.
A soft foot down.
A soft foot down last night at the dinner table.
We got a good dad hack, or it's a dinner table dad hack, which I'm into.
So I'll get into that story once we get into the dad deck.
the dad hack.
But welcome for the dads.
Papa Team 6.
Welcome to the show.
This is a show for the dads,
just by a couple of dads.
We talk highs and lows of fatherhood,
and we just embrace,
we embrace all of it,
parenting, marriage,
everything in between.
We are not experts.
We never claim to be experts.
Never said that.
An introduction on the show,
this is Goon Barre.
Our first Goon Barre
helping run comms back there.
His name is Matt Malone.
You've heard about him.
He's joining the show.
he is sitting in place of Derek, our boy Deke, who is currently on his honeymoon.
Shout out Deacon, congratulations for the wedding, Deke.
We love you.
Congratulations, team, after being on the podcast.
Congratulations on the Steelers win.
This is a very important so, because now we're going to get to see if there is any drop-off
with Deke out of the office.
And, hey, Deke was not ever speaking that way.
I just want to put that out to the universe.
Deke would never do that.
that's more so, that's kind of our own self-grading.
That's our own self-grade.
Yeah, we're just curious because Deke does the cards.
Deke does a lot of stuff for the shows, as does chef.
As does chef.
But this is a little two-man operation.
Chef's picking up a little bit more responsibility.
Matt's picking up more responsibility.
We'll just see what this show does without Deke sitting as the QB.
Yeah, yeah.
What's going to happen?
Over the weekend, before we get going,
I got a shout out the PT sicker, the PT sickos,
that showed up to Kern's Bakery
at our tailgate in Tennessee
a lot of quality dads
a lot of quality just guys
they might not even be dads
that are coming up talking about being fans
for the dads guys we engage with the community a lot
specific shout out to Alex
Alex was big time on what in the signatures
on the shirt
getting photos one one pull me aside
I don't know if it was Alex
I can't remember damn oh Jordan's boy
Jordan's boy's like hey is shirm coming
like, I got to meet Sherm. Oh, that's right. And he's like, no disrespect to you. I've just gotten
to meet you a couple of times. But I got to know is Sherm. Like, he seems like a beauty. I have to meet
Sherm. But we're doing photos. We're signing shirts. And by the way, if you want to etch yourself
into PT Sicko Lure, BWTB.com is where you can get all the four. The dad's merch.
There's mom merch, Milk Team 6. I don't know if we have ST6 merch. But we have all the merch
And we have some new onesies. I'll get the graphic to you and some new football merch as well
that hit the store now two days ago. Baby merch, toddler merch, kiddo merch, sicko merch,
mama merch, all the merch, bwtbbdb. Uncle merch. We got it all in the store, bwtbb.com.
Guys, dropping comments, shopping in our store, call-ins with stories, write-ins with emails. We engage heavily
with our community. We have no show without you guys. We have no show without the community.
You guys help keep this boat going because I don't know. We just sit here and talk about the entire time without people writing in, without people engaging with all of our content. So shout out to you guys.
And thank you for engaging with this show. Thank you for engaging in a prime example to that. I have some additional shoutouts from the tailgate because PT6 came out in full force.
I also want to have a special shout out
somebody wanted to get a picture with chef
chef had his
chef had his first PT6 request
Was that your first PT6 requested pick?
Yeah 100%.
There was a, I forget who was it Alex?
I think it was Adam
Or no, it was Alex that got the picture with you.
Yeah, dude, it was a trip.
That's the first time I've been like, someone's like,
hey, chef and started talking to me about
for the dads and he's like, hey, let's take a picture.
Oh, and I got to watch it happen.
And on your day of days, Texas and Tennessee, you're in your old stomping grounds.
That was a Super Bowl day for me.
They said, chef, hey, can we do it in front of the bus and tailgate backdrop?
And Jill just instantly jumps off the, yeah, I'll take it for you guys.
Here, Jeff, you get in there.
It was immaculate.
Yeah, additional shoutouts to Alex because he was wearing, I wore it today because he wore it to the tailgate, the OG, the very
very first shirt, and this is our OG hat. And when I was walking into the tailgate, I see
Alex from afar, and I see that he's wearing the OG. And I go, oh, okay. We got a sicko on our hands.
We're playing a home game today. We're playing a home game. I started giving a fist
bumps from far away and pointing like this. And he saw me and started going, oh, and I was like,
I got to meet that guy. Shout out to Adam and his wife. His wife. His wife.
is also, she's a nurse practitioner.
So her and Jolie Bean just got to talking,
Adam and then his buddy that they brought along.
It was fantastic getting to meet them.
Jacob, who runs like a local ministry for Tennessee,
like the University of Tennessee.
He brought the whole entourage of his family,
got to meet all of them.
And then Ethan and Josh, dude,
Ethan and Josh were and hey y'all's buddies as well
Chance and Sam.
Yeah, Chance and Sam.
You're a boy, Sherm.
I'm so glad you're remembering all the names too.
Dude, Chance and Sam.
Oh my gosh.
Ethan and Josh and Chance and Sam and I,
we all walk to the game together from the tailgate.
So we're just getting to meet Ethan, Josh,
learn about their families.
Ethan was giving me the hard sell on going to Votech.
And it's almost like someone upstairs just had their
ear listening.
The fact that you guys are going to VOTC
the following.
On campus going to VOTAC this Friday.
It's going to be an atmosphere because Blacksburg,
they've been itching for a 4-0 ball club to host a team like Pitt,
who's also 4-0.
This is the ACC game of the week.
Yeah.
And Ethan, I swear to you, Will,
he is at home literally doing this and recording the TV.
He is a huge fan of you.
He is very excited.
It's going to be fun.
Very excited.
It's going to be fun.
And we were, so just quick note, quick little story time with a chef over there.
Chef is elated that we are in town.
And you can see it in his body language.
You can see it in his face.
I need a full breakdown.
You can see it in his eyes.
It's not like a full breakdown per se, but just a couple moments.
Okay, okay.
That he's so excited that I'm in his town to where in his brain it's almost like the Maps app doesn't work.
it's got to be chef kind of directing where we go.
Yeah. Yeah.
Like we're going to a Friday night lights game on Friday.
Like after we got down with Josh Pate's life show,
chefs in the truck with old Willie C.
We're heading out to watch them Alcoa football.
Go see some dads root on their boys.
11 times in a row.
Go on to the 12th this year.
And right now they're undefeated.
It's all about the details, as Coach Nix would say.
Yeah, yeah.
We're on our way out there.
And, you know, like my phone's connected to the truck.
The Ford, shout out, Ford, no free shoutouts to Ford.
We're built Ford Tough heading out there on Friday night.
And, you know, any turn that I have, Chef's like, he, he's leaned up on the dashboard.
I think you got to go, you got to go left right here.
And I'm looking at the thing like, no, I go a little bit farther.
He's like, you know what?
That's on me.
I'm wrong on that one.
It's up here.
And I'm just thinking, chef.
Like, I'll just follow the, I'll just follow the GPS.
We're going to be totally fine.
I didn't say anything to you in that moment, but I was keeping in the bank.
We're like, okay, I got a new word said about that.
Yeah. It's like this over here. You know, it's a, it's a rougher part of town. You don't want to be outside a whole lot. I'm like, oh, why is that?
You know how them boys are now? I'm cold. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's like, we're going. It's a different type of hillbilly out here.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And then we get to the next day.
He's walking us.
We walk across the bridge.
We're going to the stadium.
We're going to Needland Stadium.
And chefs, like a little Jack rabbit out front, like walking around.
He's looking at parking lots.
Hey, I think we should go this way.
Jack, and I'll go ahead and say, Matt, just to put some salt in the wound as well.
But they're like, no, no, we need to head this way.
And chef's like, I don't know.
I think he gets a little busy.
Like traffic.
We should walk from the parking lot because there's going to be so much traffic.
It's going to be so hard to get in the.
game. We walk, we walk right through the entire thing. There's not a lot of people out and about.
The way that chef was like, this, this game is going to be so huge. Like, it's going to be a zoo down
there. He was on his Papa Sherman ground. We could have went to the parking garage by the stadium.
Can I defend myself? The nine o'clock start because the president was coming to the game.
When we turned the corner, I was expecting it to be a zoo. And what I found out is people going
through other entrances, it was a zoo.
My chance who you walked with said it took him 45 minutes to get in the game.
It was a zoo.
And they left tenants for us.
Yeah.
I did not expect when we got there.
When we walked through that stadium,
that Neeland Stadium was basically full an hour 20 before the game started.
That's fair.
So they got everything going.
Matt can attest that like usually an hour before the game,
that place we walked through is a genuine zoo, top to bottom.
It's always crowded.
We just packed out before 90 minute, 90 minute warmup even started.
Matt's first time on the mic before the dead.
You see him was nervous too talking to the mic a little bit.
Had to clear his throat.
I had to clear my throat.
I got a little nervous, right?
Not my platform, but I'm trying to, you know.
Nothing to be scared about because I told him he is well known on this show.
We talk about this Goon Beret quite a bit.
We talk about the Goon Bray.
This can't be a Goon Barreie pod.
But he's easy.
He leads the Goon Burrace out there.
Can I give them just a very quick shout out?
And then I want to hear more about just some of the more highlights of Chef.
Is these two and Ryan specifically always do such an incredible job of hosting Jilly Bean whenever she's around for a busing event.
Whenever I'm looking up, it's one of these two are Ryan and they're talking to her and they're always laughing and having fun.
And she's always telling me afterward.
chef Matt and Ryan they're just so nice they're so fun they have great energy and you're speaking to a dad
hack right now please you want a dad hack it's what you just said like when your boys you're out in an
event and your boys no target mission is making wife making the wife he laugh yeah making the wife he
have fun engaging in conversation yeah because there's no better feeling driving home and your wife is raving
your boys. Yes. There's no better. Because you know conversations can easily just be on the other side.
In a situation. So you're kind of like, ah, damn, I need my, I need the boys. Where were you, honey?
Where were you? You vanish. And I'm looking around. Who am I going to talk to? I don't know anyone there.
That's hell. That's hell. All dads right now, they're nodding their head. Oh, yeah. You kind of left me,
you kind of fed me to the wolves. And I, you're hanging out, you're playing cornhole. Oh, and it's,
like your busing tailgate.
You got to do your busing thing.
But this is my weekend.
I'm there to watch my team.
None of that.
Like you could just talk to me for a little bit.
There's, you know, for a guy, it's like there's ball going on.
The boys like, there's so much to do.
With a very heavy, and I'm talking about our internal crew,
Jill and I roll up, everybody's up on that patio.
It's all X, Y, chromosomes.
I mean, Jill's the only girl.
When you walks in, it's almost my race.
I was going off too.
You give just a nice, great hug.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm, God, you look amazing.
So glad you're here.
I'm looking around the room going,
I could have swore people were saying they were bringing their wives or girlfriends.
There's no girls.
So, yeah, I know what's going on in your head.
Then you're like, oh, damn, nobody brought their girl to this thing.
Thankfully, Jill's there to watch her team.
So it's not like she went banking like, oh, Charo's going to be there.
Taylin's going to be there.
Like, everybody will be there.
It's not like you walked in and all the boys.
are sitting there thinking like, oh, Shurn brought his wife.
And did that one little last sip of the olipop tune.
All right.
Hey, Jill.
Hey. Hey.
Good to see you.
No, I don't have many more highlights of chef.
It was just great.
It was fun to see him in his element.
To be so happy that we're also in his element.
Like, it's our first time in Neeland.
And he's like, what you guys think?
And I'm like, buddy, we've been here a few times.
And just to see his face.
I have a petition that's been put out there and it's already gotten enough signatures.
Okay.
P.P. Sickos.
I interrupt this episode.
Why?
Because we got Olipop, caramel apple.
I've been sipping it all episode.
This is the drink of the fall, guys.
And I'm sorry, you're going to have to listen to me slurp on it during this ad break.
But you're probably not sorry.
Because you're probably sipping an Olipop at home.
and enjoying it just like I am because
Olipop is still doing their

and they got their arms around each other.
And that will be framed.
That will be signed by the both of you,
and that is going to live on set.
That was Will's idea.
It's officially going to go on set.
Hey, come here.
We're going to take like a father-son kind of picture.
We're both looking up in the stands.
I was like, yeah, sure.
We were having like a little moment.
We were just kind of waxing poetic on the sideline.
And then he walked off or broke away and that's when it hit my mind.
I was like, I want to get a photo of us talking about being inside a Neeland stadium together.
It was sick.
You know, Matt, you're my, both those guys are my boys right there.
Also, it happened to be on the anniversary of me and Will meeting for the first time in Knoxville.
Put that image up too.
I have that one too.
It was our anniversary week.
It's a wild one.
So my wife that morning as well sends me a four-year anniversary pick because we had Rue with us.
Like Rue is strapped to my chest, got the headphones on because we're in Nealing Stadium.
And Rue's having her first football game.
Because I see people, I've seen, I want to say last week I saw going around like X.
Somebody had mentioned that like it's just a waste of time bringing your little one to a game because it's loud.
It's too much going on.
Responding like, don't bring your little kiddos to a game or something like that.
And I was thinking about Rue.
I was like, dude, we brought Rue to a few games.
And low key, we like, we had a blast, like bring her to the atmosphere.
Like, is she going to remember? No.
No.
But when you have the photos, there's a couple like video shots where I'm throwing her in the air.
And it's like, yo, Rue's at her first ball game.
Someone was clowning germ.
And I wanted to get on the, for the dad's profile, I meant to do that.
It was in the comments of, because I do the callbacks for Bussin' Pod.
Yeah.
And they were talking about how.
Germ had to leave because it was super hot and they had their six week old on the field or whatever
and they're like, who brings a six week old to a football game? I wanted to be like,
uh, right here. Took it took it to the Baylor Auburn game and we had a blast. And like that's not
weird. I don't think it's weird. Well, it's like I get where people are coming from on saying like,
oh, that could be a little much. Sure. Sure, it could. But like, sorry. Sorry. Sorry.
For health purposes to you, for health purposes to you, totally get that.
Yeah.
But say you have something planned out and say you don't have child care lined up,
but you and wife just want to go to the game.
You're kind of on the fence.
Should we bring the little one?
Like, you kind of go and you're going to have to operate.
Like, if they're not doing a good job, you're both just going to know as a team.
Yeah.
It's going to be good to take off.
Or like, I want to say at Baylor, you said that there was like a family,
they like a family changing stations or quiet rooms.
Like if you survey the area,
like Secret Service did for Trump the day before,
where it's like you're all in,
you know where all the exits are,
you know where all the things are.
And you're just thinking,
we can't have anybody watch our kid all day
so we can go to a game.
Do we want to, hey, do we want to try to figure out a way
to go to the game like with the kiddo?
It could be a little much.
Yeah, but dude, fuck it.
Like, let's just go and see.
Let's just go and figure it out on our own.
That's where it's like, yeah, dude, go like Clump, too.
They were having a family day at Dolly Parton Land or
or something like that.
Dollywood?
Yeah, Dollywood. Sorry, Dollywood.
And they were going to Dollywood. So the family drove up that day.
Clumps got to work. So he's thinking like, okay, who knows how long this is going to be?
I know I'm not going to stay probably past the first quarter or halftime or anything else.
Yeah.
Wifey's up here. JJ would love the game. Brady would love the game.
Like, let's see if I can get the kiddos. Hey, and you ask your wife,
hey, would you be against like me trying to get all of you guys into the game?
If wife, he's like, no, I got a six week old.
I'll just go and chill.
if you want to bring JJ or the oldest or whatever with you, then we can meet up.
That's great communication. That's great strategy.
But if Lindsay's sitting there like, I'd love to go see the game too.
And she's knowing I can have baby strapped to me the whole time.
Like, we've been in these spots before.
Yeah.
Then you go and get it done.
Yeah.
Knowing like, oh, you're going to Dolly World afterwards.
Yeah.
Or Dolly, Dollywood.
You're going to Dollywood afterwards.
Like, they had a full weekend plan.
You know what I mean?
Yes.
Like, I like, it's almost like I get the fodder of people.
saying like don't bring your little one this stupid that blah blah dude shut the fuck up yeah what are we
doing what are we doing and and to the people that are out there they're like hey it's not safe
with germs if they haven't gotten their shots blah blah totally hey i ain't treading on your flag
you know what i'm saying i'm saying you're saying you're laying you're like staying in your
Yeah, because I think Scarlett was like eight weeks.
She had gotten some first round of shots is why Jill was cool with it.
But yeah, dude, epic weekend and to that exact point, or while I was about to jump into my crack of cold one, but I don't want to jump into a tour.
We can't.
We got follow-ups.
We got follow-ups.
We got cards.
We got people writing in.

I almost have to shut that down right away because APR from Wi-Fi
after last week's sewed.
She's like, I just skipped through the Christo
because you guys.
ain't talking dads.
Like you guys ain't talking.
Like the wives out there aren't,
they're like,
they're not listening to you guys.
You're intern Chris call in about what do I do with my last year at college.
Well,
and to Charles point,
this is a guy that's been coming at her husband pretty hard.
Yeah.
He has.
Maybe she just got my back.
But Charles,
she's an avid listener.
She listens drop day.
Yeah,
she's always got a little feedback.
So her and Jordan,
they're on different sides of the fence.
Charles like, I skip through it. I'm thinking maybe
all mom skipped through the intern Christ talk.
Yeah, maybe the boys, the boys love some intern Chris talk.
I don't blame her at all. She's sitting there going, oh, yeah,
a guy that said that my husband can't change a tire.
Let's just give him a full segment.
Sounds great. That sounds perfect.
I got Alex Leo PT6 on YouTube.
He said, how dare you get married on the weekend that Tennessee plays Texas at noon?
I'm just, I'm just jagging you.
God bless you.
and your new family.
I'm just jagging you.
He's just jagging.
Have you ever jagged somebody?
Is that a term?
I'm jagging you?
I mean...
I don't know what to say.
I know Goonbury Matt's like,
he's probably thinking it said, I've jagged myself.

Hi, this is Kylie Breakman.
Angel Geratana.
Jeremy Colhain.
Patrick McDonald.
And we're the hosts of the Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists Podcast.

Join us for a panel of wellness influencers.
What I try to do is faux journal.
I don't know.
Have you guys heard of faux journaling?
Yeah, it's reading.
It's called reading.
So we don't like to use that word anymore.
Okay.
A panel of New Yorker cartoonists.
Have you guys?
I've done Terry Gross's Peloton class.
No!
I've been dying, too.
I'm so sorry.
I'm seeing a reading of
Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by
Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore
on 14th. That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland
bookstore yesterday, and I heard
Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark 30.
No way.
You have to come to the last bookstore, though.
Kim Cottrell is reading the guitar tabs
of yesterday.
A panel of Eurovision participants.
And we do a little Halloween sometimes.
Does the Pope dress up?
He winks on Halloween.
It's right up next to the microphone.
I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other.
You never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween.
Listen to artists on artists on artists on artists on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
But that's being boring language.
It's getting a little blur in my brain.
Yeah, I'm just jagging you.
I got one here from cool.
Chef
What the hell is this?
I need people at home.
It's a follow-up.
It's a follow-up from Cool Breeze 1808.
And I don't want to...
So bad.
So Deke usually does the cards.
Now we're hitting a moment.
We've hit a hurdle in the show.
Yeah, yeah.
Deek usually prints out the cards and they're well done.
But I just want the people at home to see this is what Chef is printed out.
How am I supposed to read that shit?
This is my next slide.
What is that?
What is that?
He's supposed to read these.
You put my glasses on the bridge of my nose for some of these.
Yeah, I feel like my grandpa back in the day, you put something in front of me.
He'd have out the magnifying glass.
You got a water bottle right there if need be.
That might do the move.
I've watched Frozen so many times that I'm thinking way too hard about it.
her parents were shit
what do you mean you don't know
about the enchanted forest
mom's oblivious
but her memory didn't get white from a rock
she's the only one who made it out
I need more
but we have moved on to Moana
and me and wife agree
Moana series is way better
got a two and a half year old
only child definitely shows
it's been great
who was that
this is cool breeze
cool breeze
cannot agree more
I feel like I am breaking down
these frozen films
like they're the Godfather films.
I'm sitting there.
I'm going, what in the world with this second movie,
the plot makes zero sense of you would have thought
that mom and dad would have told them about this.
Slash, I need a better villain.
I don't like that the elements were like kind of the villain,
but they're not the villain.
They were just misunderstood because that kind of feels like
the first movie of Elsa being misunderstood.
And why isn't Elsa and Anna?
Are they really going that long and they can't hang out
or build a snowman?
when do they have time to be sisters because it's it's always there's just they can't be sisters
in every single movie except for the one charade scene in the second film and it's like okay
they are sisters or when they're little kids and they build the snowman in the first movie
they're having fun and then that's when she knocks out uh anna i need more buddy cop dude it's
just constant it's just things that are more realistic like i'm sitting there looking at you know i haven't
said anything to Rue. But that's my problem with some of these princess stories. It's like
honest sitting there ready to get married because they both say the same word sandwich.
That's what I was going to say. Yeah, that's what I was going to say. Like, and you're ready.
And then Anna's mad because people are kind of questioning like, hey, you kind of just met the guy.
Yeah. It's like, yeah, they should be, Elsa should freeze your ass. But, but, hey, Elsa, we, we need a big
sis in this moment. We need a big
sis in this moment to come in.
I get that you got to be the queen and be all
regal and you got to do your shit.
But how about you come put an arm around
your little sis and be a true
sister to her? I need
Moana and
Maui. That's Buddy Cop,
man. Yeah. That's a team,
man. That's a good squad. It's a good family
too. Like grandma,
mom, dad. And
Christoph, don't get me wrong, big fan
of Christoph, but the guy's in love, dude. He's
Goon Berets out there, ST-Sixer.
Yeah, he's a good dude.
Good dude. But Ana needs
somebody that is her teammate.
And hopefully in this third film,
I saw a teaser.
Looks like they got a big, bad villain in it.
So I got high hopes, but...
We're tearing frozen down, but make no mistake.
It is a popular one.
Oh, yeah.
And I do enjoy a little bit frozen.
But I love nitpicking at, like,
I don't need my little girl seeing this.
Yeah, yeah. You're not falling.
There is no falling in love this quick.
And a kiss doesn't mean true love.
No, but that's good.
That's why I'm saying that that's good in the first film.
That's one thing that I could put my stamp of approval is, you see what boys are going to do?
They didn't even love her.
Yeah.
He's manipulating her.
That's what these guys.
That's what these guys are going to do.
They're going to come in on the horse.
They're going to go, oh, you're just the younger princess?
You're not super important, pretty and blah, blah, blah, blah.
Will, will, will, love bomb.
They're going to try to see you.
song.
That's Matt right there.
He's narcissists little princes
from the Southern Isles.
They're going to come in and try and steal my scarlet.
And I ain't taking that shit, Matt.
Any words for Margoon Beret?
I haven't seen frozen.
Okay.
He would know, like, you know,
he'd be like, man, Prince Hans.
He's kind of tight.
If Matt Ever has a daughter.
Chris Hans kind of, he's kind of playing chess out there.
I would love if Matt ever has a daughter
to be a fly on the wall of him having
to watch princess movies with said daughter because I could see him.
I'll say this.
Rip him.
You're right.
But Matt to me, like he is, he's a young Goombay.
And he's a full Goon Beret.
But if he had a daughter, like I see Matt like she's going to have him wrapped around her finger.
He's going to be dressing as the princess, dude.
Goombay's make the best dads.
I'm being serious.
Jill has said it out of her own mouth that those guys in college are the fun ones, the goofy one.
that everybody's like, oh, I don't know if he could be like a serious boyfriend.
Those are the ones that end up being the girl dads.
They end up being great dads and then they just get massive reality checks for how big of like,
you know, fuck boys that they were.
They're just like,
yeah.
Yeah.
Hey.
I'm not saying I'm a great dad, but massive reality check.
No question.
This game from Lewis.22 on YouTube.
He said, get involved with Frozen.
take an interest in everything that she likes growing up and it will be the golden ticket for creating
a long lasting bond. My daughter is Disney obsessed and showing an interest, learning the names and songs
put you on the driving seat. She is now eight years old and we have the most amazing relationship
imaginable. Took her to Disney World and she's in her element. Guess who is there with all the knowledge
and understanding for what she's immersed in. Old Dad. That's the biggest dad hack of them. I promise you
Love the show.
A UK listener.
Shout out the UK.
Oh, man, I could have done an accent.
Shout out the United Kingdom.
Come on, man.
That's the best kingdom there is, man.
Yeah, a lot of good stuff going on out there in the old United Kingdom, man.
It's also the thought, dude.
Every single time I was laughing during the comment, it was not the comment.
It was just the fun.
You just look like Grandpa.
You got them nestled down a little bit on your nose, got them really close trying to read.
Here we go.
Dad losses.
I'm holding the dad loss.
Okay, okay.
Hold on the dad loss.
You got dad loss.
This is from a G. Strawick.
G. Strawwick.
Oh, just,
Strawwick.
This is,
this is on Spotify.
Shout out to Spotify commenters.
Yeah.
Will,
glad your B-Day weekend included a Bo,
because all my B-Day weekend,
my 22nd B-Day weekend consisted of,
is both kids and,
wife being sick.
Ooh.
That's tough.
That is tough.
That's tough.
Perspective.
Trench warfare was at an all-time high.
Almost didn't make it out alive.
Still have the troops on the mend.
There was no bow in sight and had to cancel the B-Day massage.
An actual real massage.
Not the pre-shockwave foreplay.
We all know no man actually likes giving a massage.
It's all about the quick entry to the shockwave.
Hashtag dad-hack.
I don't know how that's a dad-hack.
I should have briefed this comment before I read it.
I got it.
I have a hashtag dad hack with that one.
A little gifty I got for Jill.
Because she's always asking for the foot rubs, dude.
I pull trigger.
I got one of the fancy ones.
One of the air compressed ones.
The heat stuff.
Oh, dude.
That might be.
I'm about to see if I can get Charo on board with something like that.
Oh, dude.
It rips.
Charle would love it.
I mean, they're still going to ask you for a back massage and whatever.
Can you scratch my arm?
Because some hands and fingers are a bit different.
For sure.
Especially for me.
Like I took a massage class in college.
Just FYI.
Okay.
You learn something every day.
Willie C.
All right.
Kyle Sands.
Willie hands.
Willie hands.
We have Kyle here.
And Kyle says our youngest six-month-old has been, and this is a dad loss,
has been growing like crazy.
And we had to upgrade her to a new Graco car seat.
that's the first time I've heard of that brand.
Is that the first time you're hearing that one?
G-R-A-C-O.
Graco, sure.
Okay.
You know, I can't even get my shit, right.
Come on, man.
Or not nano.
At least make it rhyme with Duna and Nuna.
Yeah.
It's easier on the dads.
I'm going to miss a small up-a-baby one
because it was so light and easy to take apart and clean.
So I get the giant ass seat installed in the car.
We hype it up for.
for our six-month-old and two-year-old to be excited for the new seat in the car.
Our six-month-old loved it and was super chatty in the car on the way to Trader Joe's.
The two-year-old then said that sister stinks and then we all kind of started to smell it.
I automatically started fearing the worst without even seeing it.
I knew for sure that the six-month-old definitely shit all over her brand-new car seat
that we just took out of the box.
Nice. Good. Good.
We got to the Trader Joe's parking lot and pop open the door.
Sure enough, she had a complete blowout.
Literally no poop was even in her diaper straight all over the seat in herself.
So that's what they call a back exit.
That went up the back for any ST Sixers or Goombay's listening.
Yeah, then Dad's to be.
And Dad's to be.
And Dad's to Be. And Dad's to be.
bro, we just gave up even trying to go to the store.
There was no way my wife and I wanted to even deal with that mess
at a 100 degree Fahrenheit Trader Joe's parking lot.
So we wiped down our daughter the best we could and turned around to head home.
On the way home, the six-month-old was making some weird sounds with her mouth.
Then she starts having a fountain of spit up just pouring out of her mouth all over the car seat.
At this point, I'm white knuckling the wheel praying that we get home before.
the car seat takes any more damage.
But it didn't matter.
The car seat got destroyed.
So I had to take it off all of its stuff
and wash our brand new car seat
that didn't even make it one car ride.
It got seasoned like a new cast iron skillet.
Good.
That was Kyle.
Good.
That's a good dad loss.
That's a great dad loss.
I don't know if I have one over the last week.
I feel like a dad loss with Scotty
because Scotty just bosses me around a lot.
She bosses everybody around a lot.
everything is Scotty's turn.
Sottie's turn.
Sadi turn.
Everything is right when I get home, I can't even get a good greeting.
It's shoes, shoes, got to take my shoes off.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
What else does she do to me?
She's still making you run, do the race across the...
Oh, yeah, she's all about racing.
Yeah, yeah.
Dad, I play.
Uh-huh.
Dad, I do this.
Uh-huh.
Dad, watch me.
She's big on Dad, I watch.
She has to say everybody in the room that's in the room.
So it'll be dad I watch, mama watch, woo watch,
sadi watch.
And then you sit there.
Oh, sadi watch is too.
Sadi watch.
Yeah, she guys, sometimes she drops a sotty watch.
Okay, cool.
So she needs you to watch or do everything.
She just, she owns me.
I don't know if that's like a dad loss or a dad,
dad like heartwarming feeling.
Yeah.
She's, dude, she is, she's going to be a manipulator.
She's going to be a manipulator.
It's good that you know that going in.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like today, this morning when I'm making them oatmeal, you want an oatmeal recipe.
This is my wife's.
I can't take it as mine.
Okay, okay.
But you get a half cup of oats.
Okay.
Sprinkleing chia seed.
Sprinkling a little sugar.
And this is a sprinkling of sugar.
Okay.
Greek yogurt, cinnamon.
And you know, you get the whole milk going, whatever your ratio is.
make that mix that up
and now just a quick question
Sherman
what was the measurements
on the cinnamon
I just go off instinct
I just shake the cinnamon on top of it
cool shake the cinnamon on top of it that's all feel
cool
then after it's slicing bananas
to put on top of the oatmeal
get them hooked up
but Sadi she wants
the banana she wants to grab the bananas
I know sweetheart I dad has got to cut them first
in the minute I say that
she knows how to go like sad mode
like curdle down, put her head on the table,
like go into pure sad mode.
And to where I can't help,
I'm just kind of giggling.
I'm Scottie,
what's wrong, sweetheart?
Why are you getting sad on that?
Is she like nestles her face in my shoulder?
Oh, no.
I'm like laughing while I'm holding her
and trying to like batten her.
I'm like, what's wrong with sweetheart?
Like I, we got to cut the bananas.
Like, why are you getting all sad on me?
Yeah.
But she does it as like a tool.
Oh, yeah.
Like I'm realizing like if she's holding her
video game controller, like she's just hitting B.
Like she's just doing it.
She just knows how to use it.
Like something doesn't go away.
She's spamming it. She says anything that's a little bit against what might be in her head.
She'll just go into, she'll lay her face down on the couch and just go into sad mode.
And I pick her up and she'll nestle her head in.
This morning I catch her smiling like as I pick her back on the scene.
She's still sad.
But she's going to be a manipulator.
Dude, I think Scarlet's on the same track.
And I'm just seeing warning signs of it
because Gammy was in town watching Scarlett at the house
while Jill and I are in Knoxville.
And I come back and there was a lot of fake crying happening when I got back.
Yeah, they start hitting you with fake cries.
Because what happens when she fake cries in front of Gammy?
She immediately gets the scene.
Come here.
Come here.
Which, hey, you like Gammy, gammy.
You got to let the grandparents
That's gammy's game
And then she tries
She tries pulling that on me
I've seen her hit her head against the wall
And she keeps on going
She was in the front yard
And did a land on her butt
And this is a girl that's been walking
For like a month now
And she does her butt
And instantly looks up in me
And I'm just
I stayed straight
I played it as cool as I could
That's good
The old is like with Rue
it's more of like the random, I love you, Dadda.
And I think in my head, I got to be on guard
because I feel like she's buttering me up or something.
Uh-huh.
My second one feels like, okay, she's like,
she knows how to manipulate the game in a real way.
Oh, big time.

Dude, if there's one thing I can say about Scotzilla, Saudi, she's smart.
That's a smart cookie.
Yeah, she'll be street smart.
You're going to, yeah, you're going to need to be on your toes.
and you're going to need to think
how would an infant Willie C think in this moment?
Because she got a lot of daddy.
Yes, she got some daddy.
She got some daddy.
She got some daddy.
My dad loss,
which hopefully somebody out there can identify with this.
Jill tells me last week,
honey,
she's all out of diapers,
she's all out of wipes at daycare.
Make sure you take her bag
with the diapers and wipes.
Honey, absolutely, I got you.
Okay.
So what I heard was take her bag with the diapers and the wipes.
Like take all of that.
I roll up.
They have a very sweet team at our daycare.
Roll into the class, very first thing daycare lady says to me is,
and you got her wipes and diapers.
And it was like a dramatic pan over to the cubby with scarlet sticker on it.
Empty.
Dust, maybe like a little spider cobweb in the corner.
I'm like, oh my God, I make this huge scene of like apologizing, asking for forgiveness.
Do you guys have any size fours here that do you all have any wipes?
And we'll just use that for today.
I'll let Jill know that I forgot the blah, blah, blah.
I had like three missed calls at work all from Jill.
I'm like, oh gosh, because I had called her and she didn't answer.
Jill then tells me, did you not bring her bag to work?
And I said, no, I, or to daycare.
I said, no, I brought her bag.
She was like, the diapers and wipes are in the back.
You brought them.
They got them.
So whatever this message thing that they're sending me about this contingency plan,
it's already covered.
So can you please call our daycare and tell them that you're indeed not an idiot?
Or an idiot in a different way.
That's dead brain.
Yeah.
Because I suffer from that as well.
Yeah.
Even when you do something right, you think you're wrong.
I have these women tap dancing to figure out a plan to get diapers and wipes for scar.
We'll take some from Chloe's cubby and we'll take some wise shoes as same wipes, you know, as Jason.
So we'll get Jason's wipes.
Just making a mess, dude.
Yeah, yeah.
I've been in those spots.
Actually, one with Charo, we've been feeding waffles on this different food routine right now
because she's got the allergy, whatever the hell she's got.
She's always got something going on.
Waffle going to waffle.
Yeah, yeah.
And she's on a different food routine.
We used to be doing like farmer's dog because farmer's dog is like apparently good.
But the doc wanted her on something with, what is it, Royal K-9.
You should open the can and put it in there.
They want to do like a food allergy test.
Okay.
Something like that.
So she waffles got these cans of food.
And so I do it most of the time because trial hates the smell.
It's a bad smell.
So I just want to feel you there, Tari.
It is a bad smell.
But daddy's one usually hitting the waffle stuff.
Yeah, yeah.
With the farmer's dog,
trial would always get on me because I'd cut the top off.
And the little plastic would be sitting on the, the island.
And so I'd do it.
And then I'd throw, you know, I'd empty, I'd put the food in the bowl.
and then if it was empty, I'd throw the little
bag in the trash, but the little plastic thing
would sit over, would sit on the island.
Are you doing goopy side down or goopy side up?
What's you talking about?
When you open said can.
Not the can. I'm on Farmer's Dog right now.
These are like, what is it called?
Oh, like a sleeve.
Yeah, like a sleeve.
Cutting the top.
But the top would always sit on the island
and Charles would bust my balls.
Why do you just not cut the sleeve over the,
trash can. Like you're already right there. You always cut the top off and you leave it on the
island. If you just open the trash can, you cut it over the trash can. You don't even have to
worry about it anymore. Small little detail, but the small details are what win you football games.
Yes, sir. So I'm like, I got you. So I started to get on the routine of doing the food over
the trash can. Yeah. Now we're on the cans. Okay. Okay. So I'll open the top of the can
and when I scrape the food into the bowl,
I now throw the can into the trash can
because I'm over the trash can.
Yeah.
But now she's busting my ball.
She's like, you know cans are recyclable.
Why you got them in the trash one?
You can recycle them.
And I'm saying, recycling is a conspiracy theory, sweetheart.
It's a scam.
I have no clue.
I know that there is stuff out there.
It's like, is recycling even that great.
But anyway, that's beside the point.
But now she's busting my balls
because now I'm throwing the can in the trash can
and not in the recycling.
And I'm like, sweetheart, they're not going to recycle it if it's dirty.
I'm not going to sit here and do the dishes with the can just so I can recycle it in the, in the recycling bin.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But also, you got me in the routine of doing it over the trash can and then I throw it into the trash can.
You got to give me time.
You got to give me time to adjust to the new routine.
Because yesterday I have in the trash can, she's like, you're doing it.
She's like, do you just, do you just, do you do this to just get me going?
Just on a daily basis.
Like, I know you heard me the other day.
And I got, actually, I don't even say anything.
I just keep operating.
Hey, this one's really going to get Charles going.
Because I'm operating.
I'm making the breakfast.
I'm making the lunch for Roo.
So I just let that one roll off the back.
Yeah, yeah.
Because I just, you know, anyway, I don't even know what got me.
Well, all that to be said, I think you were saying that that was somewhat of a dad loss, correct?
Is that where your mind was at?
Yeah, maybe a small dad loss.
Like with the marriage aspect.
She's like, you know, she's like, I've told you this a couple times.
times now. Yeah. Yeah. Why are you throwing the cans in the trash can? Yeah. The recycling bins right
behind it. I'm thinking I've now gotten in the routine of throwing it away, doing the food
over the trash can, because you got me to do it over the trash can from the sleeves.
Something fun that you can do with her that I believe my dad did this with my mom is take her to
the landfill here in Nashville and show her, oh, that's crazy. There's just one pile. Oh, is that
the recycling truck going to the same place as the trash truck. No, they couldn't be putting it in the
same. Oh, no, they did. They put it in the same pile, didn't they? Is that what they do?
Not every city, but some do. Because there's, there's, there's like pro-recyclers out there.
Yeah. And there's some anti-there is a grayer. It's like, I'm in the gray area. To me, it doesn't.
Like, hey, I think there's a little bit of truth on the anti-recycling, the anti-recyclers out there.
It is not everywhere. I'm not saying that that.
is a everywhere thing, but that is a thing where they have a recycling bin, blah, blah, blah,
and you can even see it at the trash truck level.
They grab your recycling bags and they throw it in the same trash truck.
You think they're going to go sort that out at the landfill?
You think they're saving the world?
You think they're saving the world the way you think they're saving the world the way you think
they are?
Will he see?
Great question.
And I don't know.
That's a quote graphic.
Just mumble it a couple times.
Got confused.
Got confused trying to assurance of universal truth question.
Oh, no.
But maybe you want to do that.
Maybe they are saving the world the way they are.
You know what we're going to do on Saturday morning.
We're going to go to the dump.
Pack the kiddos up.
Let's get the bag.
Make sure they have their snacks.
It'll be fun.
It'll be fun.
Hey, you don't like to smell the dog can.
Get ready, honey.
Just get the lawn chairs.
We're going to go set up shop.
We're going to have a warning at the landfill.
What are those recycling kids doing over there?
Huh?
That's interesting.
So I guess I can throw my trash wherever I feel like.
Crack a cold one?
Oh, let's do some crack of cold one.
Yeah.
Of course, we have our, some are saying the drink of the fall.
Some are saying the drink of the fall.
I want to know commenters too.
I would love to know if they've done the caramel apple floats yet.
Hey, we just kind of like skimmed over that.
Like were people in the comments talking about that?
Because that float was crazy.
Crazy.
People were in the comments about me interrupting chefs.
That's a heartfelt message.
I was to say they were just different reason.
Spooktober is damn near here.
It starts tomorrow.
October 1, you're listening on Wednesday.
October 1 is on Thursday.
We're in full swing.
But the drink of the month, the drink of Spooktober is Carmel Apple.
But you want to tickle your fancy.
It's caramel apple,
olive pop,
and ice cream.
Ooh!
I'm just going to keep my low tone.
I'm not going to oversell this.
Just try it.
There you go.
Man, that's a good olipop.
Will would you want to go first in our cracker coal one?
My crackle one is Roo.
Roo is getting us,
yesterday morning.
We were outside.
I was trying to fix the car seat because one belt's seat buckle,
so I was a little too tight.
So I'm in there sweating a little bit
trying to get the whole car seat thing figured out.
Yeah.
Roo's doing hopscotch with the little chalk that she made in the driveway.
Roo finds a couple fall leaves.
You talk about embracing Spooktober.
Roo is very much embracing Spooktober.
It's got Rue.
Roo comes up and she's like,
Daddy, I got you a leaf.
And it's just a brown leaf,
a couple holes in it.
Just a fall leaf, a dry ass leaf.
Yeah.
And she's fired up about it.
She's like, I got that for you.
She got that for me.
She got a green one for mama.
It's not all the way fall dry yet, but they look the same.
They look like brothers.
Yeah.
Just a couple different colors.
It's like Elfaba and her sister and Wicked.
One's green.
One's not.
Yes.
Hey, great.
Reflects by the way.
And so,
Bruce so fired up about the leaves,
but also she's concerned.
She wants these to be real gifts that we bring around with us.
Got it.
So I got to give this one to Mama.
Sweetheart,
I'm going to set in the cup holder.
We'll get this one to Mama.
when we get home from school today.
Dad is going to set his and this other cup holder
and it's going to sit right here.
Yeah.
So I think I'm going to drop her off at school
and then we're going to probably forget about the leaves
because it's like there are a couple dry leaves.
Oh, no.
We get home and before dinner,
she's like, hey, Dadda, I got to go get the leaf from your truck.
I remember it's in your truck.
Like, I got to show Mama her gift.
So I'm like, okay, let Daddy go again.
No, no, no, no, I'll go with you.
She climbs in the truck.
She gets it.
She's like, is this a green one?
Yeah, Mama's is a green one.
Yours is the brown one.
So we got to come in.
She's a laid to show, Mama, this leaf.
This morning, neither of us can leave the house without us having the leaf.
Oh, you got to bring it with you.
You got to keep bringing the leaf.
You got to keep bringing the leaf.
So the leaf right now is currently sitting out in my truck.
Okay.
I actually meant to bring it in so I could show everybody just this, you know,
just a regular old fall leaf.
Yeah, yeah.
But she's so fired up about.
these leaves that we can't, she wants us to have these leaves with us because they're a gift
from her to us. She found them outside. You're not going to find any more of them. They're rare.
Gotta frame it, dude. Yeah. That's my only note. That might be how you really turn into a crack
a cold one. But my crack a cold one goes into Rue already embracing the fall weather.
Embracing Spooktober. Dude. She could let Mama leave this morning. Hey, mama, you're leave.
How are you not thinking about it? I've told you a couple times now.
What is going on in your day?
that you keep on forgetting about this, this leaf.
Yeah.
We,
what we'll do,
uh,
we did little,
um,
uh,
inflatables like in front of the house.
Like we have a hello kitty and she's got her little pumpkin trick or treat
bucket.
And then we got a little spooky jackalantor blow up.
And,
uh,
we actually took Scarlet out this morning to go say good morning to those.
Nice.
We're getting her into the,
the,
the,
She's got a nice little, today, she's wearing a sleeveless kind of like sweater material, white turtleneck underneath it.
It's got like floral pattern on the sweater.
We're getting into the fields of fall.
But what we need to do is we have to get yours and Charo's leaves framed.
We might have to hang them in the studio.
Yeah, we should.
And Walgreens has like some real shout out.
No free shout out.
No free shout at the Walgreens.
They got some great frames so we can do that too.
Yeah.
Great, great crack a cold one.
Oh, thank you.
Love that one.
I thought that would be a good one.
It was a great one.
Mine was a perverse solo.
Are you checking on them over there?
See if he's fired up about the crack a cold one.
Matt, what did you think about Will's crack a cold one?
I thought was pretty good.
Of the leaves?
Yeah.
I think it was all right.
It was okay.
What do you think?
Do you mind if I tell my crack a cold one and then we could revisit?
What's revisit Will's after you?
Okay.
Compare and contrast?
Yeah.
I mean, I'm thinking dry leaves framing them like, it's all right.
That's a true Goon-Barre brain.
You know, he's not raw.
He's not wrong.
He's probably going to like mine more.
Oh, he's going to love yours.
He's going to like mine more
because mine's about being able to be a little
Goomberay-ish
because it was our first solo weekend with no scarlet.
That is my crack of coal.
It's a golf club.
I know Matt's loving that already.
He's like, oh, no kids weekend.
We went to Knoxville for the Tennessee, Texas game.
I know what a lot of y'all are thinking.
Hey, Sherman didn't, Jill?
you know, not go to that
Baylor game in Atlanta, but you went to the Texas
Tennessee game with her to support her team? I did. That's a great
question that somebody brought up.
Who brought that up? Just like some of the PT sickos
are probably like sitting there going like,
hey, shouldn't she like, you know, maybe go to a Baylor game now,
you know? And support you. Yeah.
Which is a, if they're going to ask that, that's a valid question.
That is a valid question.
valid question. Oh, I see Sherm going to a Baylor game, but she doesn't want to go with him.
She wants to go to some birthday party. But then when it's Texas, Tennessee, Sherm's going to be right there.
Hold it down, tin toes for his wife.
But it was an incredible weekend from start to finish because it did. We treated it like a vacation
because Knoxville is beautiful. We got down there on Friday, had a hotel room,
stayed Saturday night after the game.
We did
the full game day experience.
We went to the bus and tailgate
and it was a ton of fun
just kind of being off the clock
and really getting to like soak in that environment,
getting to meet a ton of PT-6ers.
I honestly, I really want to shout out my wife
because it was a really cool moment of her
engaging with these PT-sickers.
or six sirs that were engaging with us.
But just her, like, loving me really well in that moment
and being really supportive of this show that we get to do together
was like, I felt very loved in that moment
and very celebrated by my wife.
And that, thank you, Jilly Bean, for just,
she's always a rock star.
But it's really cool when you get to, like,
jump into a conversation,
people are talking about stuff that they're passionate about.
And Jill's just fully immersed in the conversation and helping to drive it even further.
And, oh, Sherman does that too.
Oh, my gosh.
And it was a lot of fun.
Then after that, we got to watch her Texas Longhorns, which that was an absolute blast,
getting to be in the stadium, getting the stadium food, the drinks.
And just kind of feeling like a couple on a date, even though it's a football game.
Like it feels very date-ish.
It's like she, you know, that final drive, and I hate to bring up that final drive.
But that final drive, Jill's death gripping me the entire time when y'all got the onside kick.
I mean, both of her arms are wrapped around.
She's got her cheek just digging into my shoulder.
We're kissing at the end of the game.
Sorry, again, apology.
Don't, you don't need to, this is like, this is a moment.
right here. Oh, yeah.
Don't worry about chef.
We're kissing at the end of the game.
And she, it wasn't even me,
she wanted to sit in the stands for like quite a while.
We just sat there as like the stands we're filling out.
And we just kind of sat there in the stands
and we're talking to like Tennessee fans,
Texas fans, people are like still just kind of filing out.
And then eventually it was really just kind of Jill and I like sit
in that section still like, you know, my arms around her a little bit, but we're like,
we're just kind of next to each other. And it was like, dang, it has been a really, really
long time since like we've just been able to be Jill and Sherman, like this couple, this
married couple in a moment like this. And just getting to soak it in and a really beautiful,
but we're both passionate about college football. We both love it. Tennessee is kind of like
a mecca, I would say, of college football. So to get to soak in that type of game,
that type of environment with my wifie was incredible. And the next best part was shout out
Nanit and shout out gammy, Jill's mom, of just having no stress about Scarlett, knowing that
she's in the best hands possible. We're getting all the little photos throughout the
weekend. I put her hair in this kind of style. I went and bought her new outfits. I took her to
gymnastics class. It's just, I've never felt like I was operating like that in quite a while.
It was. Oh, I love that. It was truly a crack of cold one. So are you saying that fans were clearing
out of the stadium and you and Jill are just sitting in the bleachers like holding each other?
kind of but not like a dramatic like not like a gayway not in a gay way i can promise you that it was
very utterance we were like two souls sharing the same heart merging as one i actually need to apologize
to jill there was a moment that i just thought about and i haven't told it yet so we're at the
bus and tailgate right and i'm talking to jill and she said yeah
like me and Sherman are having our first couple weekend together like we want to have it like we want to have fun
yeah and she was like we want to go out do all the stuff I'm telling her go to old city all this
things and I go well why don't we just all do it together and she goes Matt you're not going to text
Sherm you're not going to text us she said she should she said you're back in Knoxville you're
going to have too much fun you're going to get in there and you're not going to text us I forgot to text
Did Jill really say that?
Yeah, and I told her, you know what?
No, I will, I will.
I'm turning a new leaf.
Call back to the leaf.
Call back to the leaf.
Call back to the leaf.
That was well done.
This isn't a framed leaf.
This is a bad leaf.
Matt, can I make you feel a little bit better?
Well, first I'd like to apologize to Jill.
Oh, go ahead.
And you.
Please.
Go ahead.
So just apologies.
Trying to turn this new leaf.
Spook.

Lisa, we should tell them about our new show.
Oh my God, Lexi.
We have a new podcast.
It's called Don't Lie to Me.
I'm Lexi Iwano.
We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart.
And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references,
occasionally different opinions, and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all.
I'm not going to get anyone fighting.
That is wild.
I learned that about you today.
Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business.
And I've always got something to say.
If men were just honest about this, there would be so much more peace in the world.
We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older, and a little wiser.
We're best friends, but we don't always agree.
Because you told us how accommodating you are.
Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight.
Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Liar.

Still got a ways to go.
Still got a ways to go.
Still got a ways to go.
I like to apologize.
Yeah, I got in there pretty early and,
yeah, that's all I'm going to say about that.
I will formally accept said apology.
I don't feel like you have anything to apologize about to me specifically.
I'm sure Jill will accept his apology.
I do have to say an onk is going to unc as a kid.
say and Jill and I went straight to Texas Roadhouse after the game and we're in bed,
I believe, by 745.
Oh, that's a great day.
That is a great day.
The biggest steak and baked potato bellies that you can imagine and we're just cuddled
up watching the worst crime drama of something on Netflix or Hulu that like we're just
zonked.
That's a great day.
It was awesome.
I don't know about them kind of days where you're in bed by 8 o'clock.
And exhausting.
A gooner's going to goon.
Gooner's going to goon, but onks going to home.
And you would have gotten a text as a Matt.
We love you so much, but we got to go in Texas Roadhouse.
We got to go, man.
And, yeah, our shins were killing us too.
We both wore cowboy boots and we're walking all day.
So you're all good.
You were drinking your carbs, which is.
which is good. Liquid lunch.
Yeah. Liquid lunch. Liquid lunch.
Yeah, buddy.
Dad hacks.
Oh, what we got? Yes, dad hacks.
We didn't hit the dad hacks because I got a dad hack that's going to roll into Charles
Price in there wonder. So what did you put your foot down about?
This is Aaron on Spotify.
This is a dad hack for all the daddies out there.
Dad hack for dinner time. I have a three-year-old daughter named Adeline.
She is the most amazing little girl and extremely well-behaved for the most part.
when it comes to dinner time she takes one bite and says she's full.
Instead of fighting to get her to eat and I like this move.
This is a move that I've kind of adopted as well.
We let her be done, but when she is hungry again,
she has to eat what she didn't at the dinner table.
No snacks, no dessert or anything else.
It's a game changer.
Thanks for the great soad, my dudes.
Thanks for the great sodes, my dudes.
Oh, that's good.
That is a good one right there because I'm the same way.
we'll go back and forth through a little bit
or Charles kind of go back and forth with the Rue
but I'm sitting there it's like when I see her whining
and they're doing kind of that piss poor attitude
like I'm fool or I don't like this or whatever
even though she hasn't even tried the food
I will sit there and tell her
hey you can be done all good
no cookie
no snacks
yeah no nothing else
and if you're tired you can just
you can march your little ass up to bed
you got no hug no kiss
I don't threaten it with no hug no kiss
but like like my brain
is in that mode of like, hey, you can be diet's all good.
Be done.
You're going to be hungry.
When you're hungry, that's what you're going to have to eat.
All done.
As Ms. Rachel would say.
As Ms. Rachel would say, she'll hit the all done.
All done.
Scottie's tough too at eating dinner.
That's a great dad hack.
And last night we're sitting down for dinner.
We had like these good meatballs and veggies.
I'm trying to think of what else.
And some rice.
Ooh.
Good looking dinner.
and roots this down
and she's like, oh, I can just see it in her body language.
My man Aaron who's writing in about this,
like he knows, the parents out there know what I'm talking about.
Yeah.
Where their body language is just like,
they're kind of like,
they're kind of like dragging slowly on the table.
It's like, I don't want to eat this.
And I'm like, hey, you're eating what's on the dinner plate.
Yeah.
If you don't want it, that's fine, but you're not having anything else.
She might bring up pasta or whatever.
No, this isn't, this ain't Burger King.
It's ain't have it your way.
Like you're going to eat what's on the dinner plate.
You know what I'm going to, like, there are so many families
that don't get to sit down at dinner
and have dinner together as a family.
Or they don't get to eat a meal like this.
Yeah.
They don't just get to sit there and pick and choose
what they're going to eat for dinner.
Yeah.
You're going to eat what's on your plate.
If you don't want it, that's totally fine.
But when you are hungry,
this is what you're going to have to eat.
Yeah.
I'm just letting you know. I'm letting you know right now.
That was kind of happening before Wifey came over and sat down.
That's kind of a combo I'm having with a little bit
Because I'm just I'm over
The whiny attitude
This is this has been a battle for you will
For what I would say almost a yeat
I mean how long have we been doing this show
A year and some change
It's got more prevalent the last couple weeks I would say
I'm getting to the breaking point of like
I'm done doing the working with you
Like I'll still work with it bro like there's a ship that's happening in my brain
like, yo, you're old enough. You know better in my book. You know this. This is the routine
every night. Yeah. We sit down and have dinner as a family. Yeah. You complain about your food.
Yeah. I'm over the complaining. Yeah. You eat a couple bites like my man Aaron said. You can
eat a couple bites and talk about I'm full. This and that. Hey, you can be done. Yeah. But you
ain't get nothing else. You can go to bed hungry. Because that, that, this feels like your first
major dad battle that you have like really been going through like since the start of this podcast.
This has been like an ongoing thing of with Scarlett, it is, she's a year in three months now.
If she's not eating, we have to supplement with something else because we're wanting to make
sure that she's getting nutrition.
Yeah.
Like we're not in that realm yet where it's like, hey, no, we're.
We're eating this.
And we're not going to go get one of your little pumpkin snacks from the fridge.
Right now it's like, hey, go get some of the pumpkin snacks, see if she'll eat that.
Because I just feel like she hasn't gotten, you know, enough food today.
Jill's calling me.
Should I answer it?
It could be, yeah, go ahead.
We can medio can pause it or edit through.
Jill, you're on for the dads.
We're recording right now.
Is everything okay?
Hi, everybody.
Yes.
Yes.
Everything is fine.
I'm just getting like all these calls from daycare that Scarlett is not doing well.
And so I don't know what to do because I know you told me that she had a good drop off.
So she had a good drop off.
She's probably missing Gammy.
Gammy flew back today.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm having a hard time.
I asked him if she's like acting sick.
Does she have a fever?
They said no, but she's just like refusing to eat and fussy.
Uh-oh.
I know.
I think we got to...
I just want to get a pulse check on you.
Well, a live pulse check on the show.
I would say, in all honesty,
she's missing gammy.
She's fine health-wise.
Like, she's good.
And it's, what, 1130?
So she'll be hitting a nap soon.
And we know that her favorite meal is lunch.
She's going to be.
She probably got...
They said she refused lunch
And I was like, well, I bought sats no bag.
I don't know.
Okay.
Well, let's...
I didn't mean to interrupt y'all.
I forgot that you're reporting.
No, you're...
This is important.
Keep your phone just because I'm like swamped at work.
So...
All right.
We might need to chat later.
We'll do a pulse check.
Okay, well, tell everybody I had so much time at the best in small game.
It was the best day.
and I loved meeting everybody
and all the funny DM.
So thank you.
All the last.
Hey, first off, we were just
waxing poetically about
how much everyone loved to see you.
Matt Malone's here.
Chef is here. Will's here.
We love you, Jill.
I love you guys so much.
I had so much from this weekend.
And honestly, honey,
I know that you're swamped at work.
You dial into that.
I'll take care of the Scarlet stuff.
I'll reach out to the daycare.
and we'll come up with the plan of like after nap stuff.
If it's still looking bad, I'll reevaluate and I'll let you know.
Okay, yeah, just call me when you're done recording.
And we can chat.
Okay, perfect.
I love you so much.
Love you.
Bye.
Thank you.
Thank you.
No, but thank you.
That was good.
We all know, Scar, Scar, Scar, she's got to push through the fray a little bit.
She has to push through the fray.
That's just mom concerned.
Yeah.
Hey, she's not doing well.
Okay.
What is?
sick. No fever. No, no. Okay.
It seems like she's just having a little off day. She's missing gammy.
Missing gammy a little bit.
Uh-huh. But she's got to live in the gulag.
Yeah. Yeah. Let's see how she is after nap time.
Yeah. Let's see how she is.
Great work. There's a reason you pay that place so much money to watch a child.
Because you heard of talk about being swamped at work. It's like, okay.
But that's why I need to adopt more is like that was a good hint to Sherman.
Hint, hint, hint, I'm swamped at work. Yeah.
But she also knows like, I'm currently recording.
right now. I'm a little busy too.
Right. But you just...
But I need to...
You handle that. Okay. That's for the dads.
That's for the dads, man. That's Pt D-Cicco work right there.
Thank you. Also, first time on the show, witnessing a live rep.
That was unreal work. I feel like that was smooth.
You've got to have live reps, right?
Yeah, you do got to have live reps. I mean, we've had very minimum.
I don't know if we've had a live group like that.
It can't always be filmed.
But not like that.
They've always been...
That might be the first one.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That was... Live rep.
That was a true.
Live rep, I see what you're saying of like a parenting question.
Yeah.
Yes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The Pt Sickos right now are their commenting.
Great live rep right there.
Great coaching by you.
That was team.
This is, this is dadding right now.
Yeah, dude.
And that is the kind of stuff on a Saturday when you're with the boys and you do get one of those.
And you have multiple dads around.
Everybody's coming in.
What's going on?
Because say you're in the pocket solo.
Who knows where you're at?
What kind of day you've had?
You guys say, well, I've had a long day too.
Yeah.
And right there, you're not even handling.
You're not even seeing over the weeds.
It's always the worst.
I'll say, I think she's fine if she does it.
She's not sick.
Like, we're just going to, like, I'm busy too.
Yeah.
And then right there, it's just a couple of rams, batting, battering heads right now.
Yeah.
Yeah, man.
Yeah, oh, for sure.
For sure.
God, great work.
Great work.
Papa Team 6 out there.
Yeah, thank you, PT6.
All right, let's get into Dad Collins.
Of course, Dad Collins,
presented by our good friends at Gravely.
Shout out Gravely.
Shout out, gravely, man.
And our first one's going to be from Deak on his honeymoon.
I have a voicemail here from Deek.
We wanted to check in.
Honeymoon check in.
Honeymoon check in with Deke.
I want to know if he started Bud's training.
I don't know if I should get in on his personal life like that.
We may have to let him speak on it.
Hello for the dad's team.
This is Fungle Deek, first time caller, many-time listener.
And we are calling from the beautiful location of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, because I'm on my honeymoon boys.
I'm here with my wife.
Hi.
That was my wife.
I will say again, my wife.
And gentlemen, I'm just calling to let you know we had a perfect wedding, perfect weather.

DEC
I know you're listening right now, my friend.
Maybe you're watching a lot of drop off.
Drop off with the cards this week.
Drop off with the cards this week.
Oh, what happened with the cards?
Do you can't?
Oh, yeah.
We're going to get into shoutouts right here.
And again, I just want people at home to see, like, these are the cards.
This one's like three paragraphs, and each paragraph gets smaller.
Like, I'm at like an eye doctor's appointment right now.
This is right here's one line.
Oh, Deke, we're hoping, we hope you're well.
Yeah.
I'm just going to say maybe we can hold it up one of them to the screen.
I'm like, what is that?
And Hayden Jameson probably put in some good stuff in the email.
We'll get to it here shortly.
I don't have any words.
I was making the cards yesterday.
And I was talking right before.
I was putting them down.
I'm going, man, I can't believe that I've never noticed how.
small the font is week to week
on all the cards. Not realizing
Derek when he takes screenshots, he sizes
up his browser, so it's bigger text.
I'm just sitting there confounded.
I'm like, man, they read it like this
every fucking week.
The only ones that are like solid ones are the ones like
the Spotify comments. Yeah. Yeah.
I just took screenshots. That's how Derek
does it too. So that's it. Derek does the
same thing. He just sizes up his browser. Bigger text.
I'm learning that now. Yeah, exactly.
You put it in a little thought, a little brain
Let's size up the phone a little bit.
It so does.
Yeah.
Not a lot going on.
Yeah.
Dad burns.
Still reeling from the weekend in Knoxville.
Yeah.
This is last week's.
This one right here.
And then this one is this week's.
So,
but we love you, Deke,
and we love you chef.
We do love you, chef.
We do love you.
And if there's anything to ever be said about chef,
he owns it every single time.
Yeah.
Every single time.
He does.
He does.
All right, solo dad trip to Costco.
Shout out, no free shoutout Costco.
No free shout out to Costco.
You can go get some Mollip up there.
You can't.
You can't.
We are buffering.
This is our favorite time.
What's going on, boys?
A long time listener up here in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Ben.
Just love what you guys do.
Listen every week.
Wanted to call in with a little bit of an unexpected dad hack or dad win.
Nice.
If you can, get yourself.
a solo shopping trip out of the house.
You just went to Costco,
unsupervised.
Wife and kiddo are at home napping
peacefully. I'm out providing for the family.
Costco by yourself?
Fucking rips, dude.
I'm riding shopping carts down entire aisles.
I'm punking 13-year-olds who think they can
beat me in a foot race.
I'm liable to act up in any type of way out here
all by myself. As long as I'm home
within the allotted time
before old boy wakes up from his nap.
Keep it to try.
Let me know how you guys think.
Appreciate what you guys do.
Keep it up.
Don't keep it under an hour.
Love you guys.
Yeah.
That's poetry.
That is.
I was thinking last night, like when dinner was winding down,
if Rue was going to eat her food fast enough,
she ended up eating the meatballs and everything.
Yeah.
She did a good job.
But I was hoping it'd go faster because we ate dinner a little bit early
because I'm thinking of my head, like,
I'm kind of just want to get a target trip in.
But I was going to bring Rue, like get one of them at least out of the house.
Maybe just make up some go get some cereal.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Because I'm out of my cereal that I like to eat.
Because I'm sure, because it sounds like he only has one.
I'm sure that that dad hack even works for split and the,
split the kids up, have one be at home.
You take one if you can't swing the solo.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
It's kind of hard to leave the house like right before bedtime.
Hey, I'm going to go on a target run.
What for?
Like, I don't know.
Need some cereal.
God.
If we could start doing microvlogs at this office,
I would want a microvlog of you going to that BP.
gas station deal.
That's the, yeah.
Hey, Matt, Matt.
Matt.
Shout out.
Hey, shout him out, Matt.
Shout out, Lon from the BP and Bell Mead.
Just an unreal guy.
Me and my dad have known him for years.
Willie C's now met him and just an all-class guy.
And I want him to travel with us one weekend.
That's his one request.
I know.
That's his one request.
I looked at me eye.
I'm like, dude, I would, we can do that.
We can try to make that shake at some point.
He's a nasty golfer too.
And who doesn't know Lon at BP if you're in
Westmead. Who doesn't? He's friends with everybody. And if you want to talk about if there's
ever a position open at Bussin that's a sales position, that dude is unreal at his job. He's unreal,
man. It's a community between the pumps. I'm serious. I work on. It's a community because I want to
get some talk time in with them, but sometimes you can't because he's already talking to other people
and they have their own relationship going on. And everybody wants a second with him because he
truly makes your day. Have you ever seen him angry? He's never. Yeah, never. It's always happy.
happy to see you. It's truly a community.
And I'm glad that you met Lon. I've known him for years.
Okay, so I went, Matt, and I have yet to...
He's the owner. He's also runs the front.
I have yet to tell him.

Lisa, we should tell them about our new show.
Oh my God, Lexi.
We have a new podcast.
It's called Don't Lie to Me.
I'm Lexi Youan.
We're two best friends, 22 years apart,
but so close at heart.
We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty.
getting older and a little wiser.
We're best friends, but we don't always agree.
Because you told us how accommodating you are.
Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight,
but there's only so much fight I can fight.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Liar.

I don't know.
Have you guys heard of faux journaling?
Yeah, it's reading.
It's called reading.
So we don't like to use that word anymore.
Okay.
A panel of New Yorker cartoonists.
Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class?
No!
I've been dying too.
I'm so sorry.
I'm seeing a reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14th.
That's crazy.
I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark 30.
No way.
You have to come to the last bookstore though.
Kim Cottrell is reading the guitar tabs of yesterday.

You got Starstruck.
I got Starstruck.
I co-hosts on a podcast as sponsored by Oli Pupp.
We have 12 cases of the stuff that we get for free.
He talks me into buying an olipop at his gas stage.
I get the stuff for free and I buy it there because he's so good his job.
Don't name drop Will.
Don't name drop you because Will had told me y'all's families.
Y'all, y'all know each other.
And I said, here's the deal.
I don't want to do that unless I'm in person with you or in person with Matt.
I'm telling you, you just got to let him know.
Yeah.
That's your part of the crew.
Yeah.
Because it's family as soon as you say that.
It's family without it.
Once you say those couple words, it's like, oh yeah, he's with us.
Okay.
He's a beast, man.
We may need to do a little microvlogging.
Like if you're in Nashville, you want to make your way to the BP in the Belmete area.
Oh, dude.
And it's game over.
Yeah.
Even if you just go in and ask him for a signature.
I would get, I kind of want to get an olip.
We have those olipop hats.
I want to get one signed by.
We might need to take a group photo, sign it, throw it on the wall.
Yeah.
Now, that is an idea.
Could you imagine walking in there?
Like, I don't want to buy nothing.
I just want to know if I can get a photo with you out front.
Dude.
Hey, hey.
Jersey swap.
Yeah.
This is so OD.
I might get clowned in the comments, but you know it's some gas stations where, like, you'll take a picture.
Like musicians will, like, have a headshot and they'll sign it and be like, we love you.
And they like hang it up there.
do you think we could take a picture, sign it, and then hide it somewhere in the BP?
I don't think we'd have to hide it.
He'd probably have that thing hanging for us.
Oh, yes, bro.
I've known since I was a kid.
Like, he is, he doesn't age either.
No.
And he looks good.
I've known since a kid.
And he'll talk to my, he'll go to my dad.
How's J-Train?
Good.
How's Willie C?
Good.
What are you doing today?
Where I'm about to travel because I always get him electrolytes with water when we travel.
Now it's a little different because I live at a different spot.
But he knows.
I mean, he is dialed in.
He's dialed, dude.
He's the best, bro.
Shut out, Lord.
Shout out, Lone.
I also want to shout out Gravely.
That was our, this week's dad call-ins, presented by Gravely.

that is a company that is truly invested in the quality of their product.
And so for that, Lucy is the one and only pouch that delivers long-lasting on-demand flavor.

You do an email, I'll do lesson.
You like that?
Okay, yeah, let's do that.
Okay.
Let me get a couple shoutouts off, though.
Please.
I'll do my best.
This one's from Mr. D. Payne, 03 on YouTube.
Show it to the camera one more time.
Just.
Nick, my guy, you don't understand how much I love and appreciate you.
Megan's story brought on the waterworks, but more so fired me up to hear her impact and what she was able to accomplish in raising awareness and funding for not one but two research labs.

Buying those shirts on our store.
It's really cool to see.
This one right here from Daniel.
Here, use my water cup and then you can, it'll kind of magnify it.
It just hurts the eye.
I know I get squeenny eyes to begin with.

I wanted to jog will's memory
and bring up the date
December 30th

Will Compton and his

absolutely laid the ultimate

on my Arizona Wildcats
in the holiday bowl
sitting pouring rain

I thought I'd never

and I thought
I'd see what this son of a gun
was up to now
17 years
after he and his buddies broke my heart.
I've been a day one for the dad's listener.
I've absolutely loved listening to you guys talk shop
and share your experiences as girl dads.
Now it's nothing but love for old Willie C.
I've got no bones to Bickville Shirm since Arizona laid it down
4117 on your Baylor Bears last year.
Damn.
Sorry for the drive-by.
That was uncalled for.
See, now the font gets smaller.
I want to throw that out there.
Like, that's too hard.
Thank you, boys, for bringing us laugh.
I see a PS down here.
We are actually begging for a Pablo Charo and Jill.
Let's make it happen.
Don't forget to take the trash out.
Yeah, they just want to throw it out there.
He sized the font down in the email.
I get it.
Wait, wait, wait.
I just want to throw that out there.
Daniel, what are you doing sizing the font down?
You should have known, Chef wouldn't know to size it up.
He met, Matt, with the pat on the back.
Come on, Daniel.
Was that our email as well?
No, I got the email right here from Justin Wigg.
And this is a family photo in Paris
with the Eiffel Tower behind.
But again, you're like,
you want me to hit the email?
I'll do my best.
Justin, I will do my best with the email.
Oh, damn.
Hey, boys, fair warning, sad alert.
Oh, sad alert.
Sad alert.
Sad alert.
But I've got to crack a cold one.
I've got to crack a cold one finish.
Sorry, Chef and Deak. It's a long one.
All right, buckle up.
Our one year ago today, our world turned upside down.
My wife was laying with our six-month-old son, Asher, while he was napping.
As he woke up, he started having a seizure.
My wife called 911, and they talked her through giving rescue breaths as he had stopped breathing.
By the time paramedics got there, he had stopped seizing and was breathing on his own again.
but they still rushed them to the hospital.
While trying to figure out what might have caused a seizure,
one of the nurses suggested having the neurology team check them out.
They ordered an MRI, and when the imaging came back and the neurologist said,
quote, I've never seen anything like this before.
I realized how serious this was about to get.
I realized how serious this was about to get.
Before they could give us any more info,
we would need to transfer to the Children's Hospital here in Chicago,
bear down for addition.
imaging. Here we learn that our son had a very rare peel AV fistula in his brain. Fixing it would
require multiple immobilization procedures where they would run a catheter from his growing
up through his heart and into his head and essentially super glue the leak shut. They do it in stages
to try and prevent too much clotting. After two procedures, they have done.
successfully closed the shunt and he started and he started improving immediately unfortunately there was
too much clotting and now we had to do injections with blood thinners twice daily for the next three months
since then our days had been consumed with follow-up appointments imaging testing and weekly
visits from our awesome speech occupational and physical therapists in june we finally got the best news
possible. His anagram was clear. The clot had shrunk and no follow-ups from them for one year.
It was shortly after we got out of the hospital that I found your show and it was exactly what I needed.
This was the hardest thing that I'd ever been through and I was in the Marine Corps and got blown up a
couple times in Iraq. I wasn't sure how I was going to handle this. Nolan Ryan level curveball life
is throwing at me. The laughs and cries and everything in between is exactly what I needed
to get back in the saddle and show up every day. Now I'm flexing my PT6 skills daily and
truly soaking up every minute with my son. We even took a big trip to Paris this month to celebrate.
Keep up the good work. I look forward to the new sewed every Wednesday. Don't keep it under an
hour. We're a little over right now. B.S. Shout out my M.T. Sixer who has been the most amazing
Mama Bear and there's all the credit for getting us here in one piece. Justin Wig.
Ooh.
Justin.
I showed that picture of them in Paris again.
Okay.
I chose email too.
I had to really like it.
Hey, well done by you.
Well done.
This is the fan right here out in Paris.
Man, I can imagine.
Rue had that seizure.
It didn't get that.
It didn't get to let to that level.
or you had to run a catheter and go up and fix some clotting and everything else.
But I've talked about it before on the episode.
I didn't realize that was the exact same thing that Rue had.
Roo didn't have, like Rue had a seizure.
Yes.
It wasn't this.
Got it.
She had to stay overnight and go through all the neurological testing.
And it felt like the doctor was telling us this is he, like it could be a one-off.
It has been.
Knock on wood.
Yes, yes, of course.
But as far as the most scared and fear and emotion,
that I've had in fatherhood.
Like that was a tough one.
Going in and seeing your little girl naked at the hospital,
we're all rushing there because this was the daycare scare when she was at daycare.
How old was she again?
Oh man.
Like months old.
I mean, she was, I don't know.
My wife's going to correct me.
Maybe two.
Like not two yet.
But it was like they're rushing in the ambulance.
Charles rushing from home.
I'm rushing from the shop.
Yeah.
speeding to get to the emergency room and you just see your little girl like you got the IVs got all
the stuff plugged in her the tubes in her nose laying they're kind of emotionalist emotionless
you're not really grabbing your finger and you just see the oh yeah right dude yeah i would crumble
bro i'm talking i would crumb yeah a lot of emotion i was seeing with her overnight seeing her in
the little head thing the next morning she was in good spirits the next day but that moment was very very
scary when you just don't know what cause it or what's going on.
They obviously go a step further and find something very rare to where they had to do procedures
the next day.
Yeah.
So I can imagine the hell.
He talks about being in the Marine Corps, getting blowups in Iraq.
He's like, that ain't got nothing on this.
Man, the fear that goes in.
Justin was his name.
Justin.
Shut out Justin.
Shout out to y'all's family too.
I'm so glad y'all got to celebrate and get to do a really cool trip to parents.
Oh, yeah.
Dude, so deserving.
And y'all are incredible parents for being able to go through that
and be able to smell the flowers and live life to the fullest.
And I'm sure that gives you an appreciation for life.
Oh, me.
But yeah.
Getting to the other side of that.
Lesson of the week.
Lesson of the week.
Run it up with the lesson, my friend.
I got a quote from Marcus Freeman.
Oh, yes, sir.
Got a ball coach.
He said, I fail often.
I'm not the perfect father and perfect husband, but you try to be intentional.
You try to be intentional and present with your family when you are home.
That's probably more important than anything.
If you go home and you're physically there, but mentally you're not there, then you failed your kids.
You failed that opportunity that you had.
I try to put my phone down.
I try to listen to what my kids want to talk about.
They're not always going to remember what I said about football.
They're going to remember how they saw Coach Freeman as a father and a husband.
Marcus Freeman.
That's a banger.
Bang.
Take out the trash, man.
Thank you guys.

Does the Pope dress up?
He winks on Halloween.
He gets right up next to the microphone.
I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other
You never seen Italy so quiet
As when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween

Tell them about our new show.
We have a new podcast.
It's called Don't Lie to Me.
I'm Lexi Wanu.
We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart.
And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different.
references, occasionally different opinions, and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all.
Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business.

Self-care September is your reminder to slow down, check in with yourself, get off your phone,
and maybe ask, why am I like this?
I'm Jemisbeg, host of the Psychology of Your 20s podcast, and this month we're helping you make sense
of the person that you are becoming, from setting boundaries and navigating friendships
to understanding anxiety, confidence, relationships, and attachment.
Sometimes our biggest decisions, without us even realizing it, aren't driven by what we truly want,
but by what will prevent us from feeling lonely or being alone.
